Went here on a Sunday morning because we got a free breakfast staying in the RJ House. Coffee was okay. Eggs Benedict was rather good. Service was good, but there seemed to be a language barrier. Overall, pleasant and relaxing breakfast. I wouldn't bother going here for dinner. Menu is rather dated and stuffy, and their prices are outrageous! I'd stick to breakfast.

We went here for breakfast with a friend of ours and clearly we should not pick breakfast places when we're hungry. Blech! As soon as we entered my friend was put off by the very dingy feel of the place. We really should have left as soon as we had a moment to glance at the menus but hunger ruled and we stayed. The coffee was mediocre at best and no one enjoyed their food. How hard can it be? Breakfast food!! You're just cooking eggs and toast and making a decent hollandaise sauce. Nope...not here. I won't even go into what we ate because it all tasted the same and it all tasted MEH.

We enjoy this hide away for its unique location. They have a simple but delicious menu.

I love anything that offers up a bit of history and Maryland Inn did not disappoint!!!! This place in my opinion is extremely cool. I have not stayed the night, or dined at the restaurant I have only been to the tiny bar downstairs. I dragged my friend in here because I was so intriqued and needed to see what it looked like inside, and had to learn more about this historic gem! We went to the bar, it was small and cozy. It was filled with what seemed like regulars but that's was fine. They were all friendly and we had a good time.

They serve Crab Bisque Soup here. It is extraordinary. You can also get extra sherry delivered to your table.

HORRIBLE HORRIBLE HORRIBLE Only an idiot would go here twice. My wife and I went to Annapolis Friday night to get away from our busy DC live. Annapolis is a great town, a little snobby but overall a fun place. So, we decided to go to Treaty of Paris because I like old buildings and usually old buildings in cool towns have great food and service. No the case here. My wife actually go there about 15 minutes before me because I was enjoying a cigar at this little cigar shop. When I arrived she had said that she had waited about 15 minutes to get a beer. So, I said lets just pay for it and check out some of the other cool spots. I looked for the bartender but behind the bar was empty. No big deal I thought as it was busy and I figured he had to get something. Although the bar was full and the tables were full there was no other staff. Then it hit me, the smell, someone dropped a fart that smelled like death, it was bad, one of those that just hangs in the air. I Iooked around and what do my wondering eyes see, a row of huge asses, all pointed at us as we were sitting behind the bar. So, we sat there trying to be polite and waited for the bartender. But after about ten minutes no bartender. So, I look down the short little hallway and yes, there is the bartender in the hall laughing with someone. So, he finally gets back and walks right by me as I am holding my card up for him to take, he looks at me and walks right by and starts clearing glasses off the bar. Then he does it again to go service a table with 6 ladies, chats with them for a while, pours some wine for ALL of them and I finally had to jump in front of him and stop him to hand him my card. And yes, the fart smell still lingered in the drab air. Horrible experience. One beer, 30 minutes, a shitty bartender, no staff and farts, yea what a great place, didn't even try to eat and wouldn't.

So I have always wanted to eat here. But for some reason I thought it would be crazy expensive and better left for a sugar daddy to pick up the bill. But I stopped in with an out of town friend just to check it out. The prices were not as bad as I thought. About $30/entree. I got the Crab Bisque and the crab cakes. The bread rolls were amazing! They were very fresh and had the best texture. It went well with the Crab Bisque. For my entree I got the crab cakes. These were also very good, but even two was too much for me. So I got it to go and they heated up well as left overs. Maybe it was too much because I ate too much bread... I was very disappointed in the wine list. California wine? At a supposed high end French Restaurant? Hmmm....I went for a glass of Cotes du Rhone which was actually really good. I guess I was expecting something really exotic from France. Well, maybe they would have had something really good if I was able to down an entire bottle by myself, but as far as the glasses go the choices were pretty limited. To be quite honest, I think the hype about this place really has a lot to do with the ambiance. It is beautiful inside! It's the perfect setting for a nice romantic dinner...dim lights...candles.....French decor...yeah the makings for a romantic night out. If I do come back, it will not be for the food.

Bottom Line up Front: Ambiance: Great Food: Nothing to write home about Service: Absolutely HORRIBLE Having lived in Annapolis for the past 3 years now, I thought it was about time to try out Treaty of Paris. During this trip I went for lunch on a Sunday with a group totaling 9 people. While the look /feel and initial service of putting together a table for 9 was very nice, the goodness stops there. Once we were seated, it took an additional 15 minutes for a server to come by to drop off waters, plus an additional 10-15 minutes to actually take a drink order. This slow service was no due to it being busy since there was only another table of 4 people in the restaurant. Finally, after a good long wait, our server took our orders then disappeared. For those that ordered an appetizer, those came out rather quickly (mind you, it was soup and crab bisque). About 40 minutes after ordering our meals came out. Since we had a large group, we started eating as we got served... that was until we noticed that one member of our party had still yet to be served (ordered a blackened salmon caesar salad). After waiting for about 10-15 minutes we asked the server what the deal was where he informed us that it took a little longer than expected to defrost the frozen fresh salmon. Once we made our displeasure known, it seemed as if the servers tucked their tails and hid like a scared dog. Eventually we ended up being the only patrons in the restaurant, you would figure that service would get better?.... nope... the servers stood in the corner watching us (while they cleared and reset unused tables). We eventually had to wave down the waiter in order to get our check where yet again the server disappeared into the now empty restaurant. With Treaty of Paris being in an iconic location in a historical building, you'd expect a much higher level of service. This visit left A LOT to be desired, I doubt whether I will return.

Service good, quaint atmosphere, mediocre food. Steak was Bonanza or Ponderosa quality, everyone's meal served lukewarm and we were one of only 2 tables in the joint.

Xmas eve 2012. Prix fixe menu. I should have read this as a warning sign. I cannot begin to tell you how awful my experience was so I will only hit on a few lowlights. ALL of the food was prepared in advance and then destroyed while reheated for service. $80.00 for awful crabckakes with a salad and dessert. One dessert, creme brulee, was brulee'd on the surface and liquid underneath. After 3 attempts to find one that was properly set we gave up. Hostess went home while the restaurant was half full. No one to talk to except the waiter-who was also the busboy.(he was great by the way). If noone wanted to work Xmas eve then they should not have been open. Instead we got a few entrees to choose from and an overpriced awful meal. What a shame. Used to be so good. And what a lovely and historic setting that they have ruined.

One of the best hidden gems for drinking. Go visit Peanut, he's amazing. I can't comment on the food, which is not necessarily a good thing since I have tried almost everywhere in Annapolis. But the bar area is warm and inviting, perfect for a casual meetup or a romantic date.

After a pleasant experience this time last year, we made reservations for Saturday night and ended up leaving the restaurant without dining there. We were seated on time but told that the kitchen was a little backed up so it may be a while for our food. This did not bother us initially. But after 30 mins of nobody even approaching our table to deliver bread, water, a wine list, etc., our minds had pretty much changed. The waitstaff would glance over to our table and then make a beeline away. The three other tables within earshot complained about the wait, the food, an undelivered round of drinks, etc. After 45 minutes of not placing an order and not feeling very confident that we'd get a good meal in a reasonable amount of time, we decided to leave. The reaction from the staff members could be described as quiet and defeated. I don't think they were surprised nor blamed us, but an apology from would have helped. The dining room doesn't seat that many to explain how they could have been this backed up. I also cannot figure out why the waitstaff could time after time walk by the table without stopping in to take a drink order, provide an update, get started on salads, anything. I am not sure what happened on this particular night - the same night as the big boat parade - but the Treaty of Paris blew it. It seemed like they were understaffed and training on a night where they should have been on their game. I'd have a tough time recommending this place or giving it another shot.

I've only been here on Sundays for brunch. I'm a huge fan of the Chesapeake Eggs Benedict. The atmosphere is very pleasant, the servers are friendly and competent, and the food is actually worth the price. I don't know what else to say except for why are you still reading this go eat there right now.

Stopped by here both nights for a nightcap while staying at The Maryland Inn. Quaint atmosphere, cave-like feeling. Large beer selection and stays open until 2:00am. Bar holds about 12 stools and enough seating elsewhere. Not crowded, which I like for a place where I want to wind down before retreating to bed.

I stay at the Inn while on business. I was in a hurry as I had a 9am appointment, so I was looking for a quick breakfast. I don't usually make it a habit to eat at hotel restaurants, but it fit the bill at the moment. The restaurant is in the basement. I sat down and looked around. I thought "this fucking place is depressing".....I'm not sure what they were going for here, but it bothered me. OK, so whatever, bring on breakfast. I ordered an omelet, home fries, bacon, toast and coffee. I was informed that the toast was extra, I just didn't know how much! The omelet was large and it was edible. The bacon was bacon. The home fries were Ore Ida frozen. The coffee was not so good. I ate up and wanted to get the hell out of there before I died in such a depressing place. Although there was only three people in the whole place, my waiter was busy elsewhere. I had to get up and track him down to get my bill. My bill with the tip was $20. Remember the extra toast? $4 for two slices of rye. I'm starting a bakery as we speak. I will continue to stay at the Inn, but not venture into this dungeon ever again. PS- The bar is right next door to the restaurant. I have been there several times and it is fine.

This was absolutely my favorite bar when I lived in Annapolis. It was across the street from my apartment, and though I never dined in the restaurant or stayed a night in the historic inn, I spent many an evening in the bar downstairs. It's small, usually kinda quiet, and mostly filled with regulars. I got to know the bartender pretty well -- Nat, if you're still there, I miss you!! He played Nina Simone, always gave me some sweet deals on drinks, and once walked me home when I was too drunk to make it across the street myself. I think the other long - term bartenders' name was something like "Peanut." No joke. Location is awesome, in the heart of historic downtown Annapolis and just up the hill from the waterfront. Def a great place to have a few drinks and chill if you're in town.
