The food here was bang bang. I was skeptical at first like, will a potato really fill me up that much? Could it really be that interesting? Until I got the spinach and feta potato and was slapped in the mouth hole with deliciousness and texture. The skin was perfectly crispy and tasted like a french fry. The insides were stuffed with cucumber, a delicious feta sauce, and these little crunchy things that just added so much character. Husband got the Cuban potato. He's not very excitable bit if he eats the food and nods it's a good sign. So I'm sure his was delicious as well. Highly recommend this place for veg heads and meat eaters alike. It's surprisingly filling. I felt like a damn potato wobbling out of there.

Cheap eats, great taste, unique lunch offerings, friendly staff. We tried this for the first time after a friend recommended it, and we were not disappointed. I liked the cuban chicken, and my wife enjoyed the spinach feta and garlic. They let us try a few before ordering too! It is very affordable and quick. Popular lunch spot, it seems. Home brewed iced tea (sweet and unsweet), fountain cokes, and bottled drinks. Definitely worth a try.

Miss Barabara ! Enough said!! The potatoes are great, but let's keep it real, Miss Barbara is the main event!

I had the turkey, bacon Havarti sandwich a it was amazing!! Best honey mustard I have ever had! Nice location too! Definitely going back to try one of those potatoes!

Such a great spot for an easy lunch. You get a whole baked potato with toppings of your choosing. It's satisfying. Usually it's chicken or beef, and apparently they're known for the chicken curry one, but there are also vegetarian alternatives. There are also sandwich options if eating a whole open-faced potato isn't your thing. The place is small, but it has tables for dining in and the line normally isn't too crazy. It's also situated on the footsteps of the State Capitol on a hilltop. Always a nice and serene walk on a nice day.

This place is an amazing concept that needs just a few tweaks to be perfect. We stopped in for lunch while Christmas shopping and were greeted warmly by two different employees, one of whom asked if we would like to sample anything on the menu. Um, okay! I asked about the "artichoke mix" and was glad I had, as it turned out to be a sort of creamy dip with tiny pieces of artichoke stirred in. No thanks. Instead I settled on the classic garlic butter with cheddar, and my husband went for the Jamaican Hot Sauce. Both came with "greens," which I appreciated as a complement to the carb-heavy centerpiece. We got drinks and picked out a cafe table in the sunny seating area, and in no time at all our potatoes were ready. The skins were lovely, crispy and flaky, and the combinations of flavors in both entrees were wonderful -- mine buttery and cheesy with a hint of garlic, and his creamy and spicy (so much so that he couldn't finish it, which is unusual for a hot-sauce hound like him!) Here are the tweaks they need to make Potato Valley great: first, use more salt on the potatoes -- outside and in. Potatoes need a lot of salt to bring out their flavor, and although I can always salt it myself, it would be nice not to have to as it penetrates more deeply while baking. Second, rethink the "greens," which were basically a dressy garnish: half a cup of iceberg lettuce, 4 leaves of baby spinach (yes, I counted,) a strip of red pepper, a cucumber slice and two shards of unripe mango. I would recommend something heartier, like baby kale or chard, and slightly wilted, so you can eat it along with the potato without making a mess. Also, just wanted to note again that service was fantastic -- could be they've changed hands since some of these negative reviews were posted. Also, there's a huge menu board on the wall, again, possibly in response to Yelper comments. Here's hoping they'll do the same with mine!

If you are previewing the menu online before you arrive at the store you will be surprised to learn that the PRICES ARE INCORRECT AND THEY DO NOT MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO HONOR THE DIFFERENCE. She was rude about it too ! She simply said and that won't get changed for a year or more - I will think twice about going back again

delicious, reasonably priced and very filling! I haven't been to Potato Valley in about 10 years but it tasted just as I remembered it!

If you come to potato valley get a potato. Don't get a salad or a sandwich, it's called Potato Valley. If you happen to come here during legislative session, be prepared to wait-it's worth it. The broccoli blue cheese potato is worth five stars alone.

Food was good but more importantly service was fantastic. They went out of their way to cater to our three little girls and even offered us a small plate of different items, avocados, peas, pineapple etc for our youngest(18 mos) for free when she was not interested in what we ordered her. Thank you!

I really wish I could comment on some of these negative reviews and tell them how absolutely ridiculous they are. If your allergic to dairy, you obviously are going to be getting a bland potato because the majority of ingredients used to dress the potato have dairy in them. By the way if your allergic to dairy you would be allergic to butter as well. You might want to check that one out. People complaining about "microwaved" potatoes are completely off base as well. These potatoes are definitely oven roasted. Anyone with half a tastebud and brain cell could tell that. They are fully cooked ahead of time and kept warm to speed up being served. If every potato was oven roasted upon ordering it would take over and hour to get your food. And if your coming to POTATO valley to get salads and sandwiches you're obviously not going to be getting their best offerings. Bottom line, Potato Valley is amazing. Their food is phenomenal. Their unique take on a potato is something everyone should have the pleasure of experiencing. I have to limit myself to once a week which is very hard to do. I get the spinach and feta mix & the chicken bacon cheddar. I couldn't imagine a world without potato valley.

The owner displayed a low tolerance for customers deciding what to order and was rude to my mother. She later apologized to me but not her. Too bad it makes a place with tasty potatoes and many topping choices at reasonable prices a second rate establishment.

This place is cute, healthy and just so friendly. Love it. Clearly a favorite of the locals as there was a line throughout lunch. But it moved very fast and no one was waiting very long. The salad was just wonderful with a great mix of fresh veggies, some carbs and a wonderful chipotle sauce. I know I would be there every day if I lived in town.

I discovered this place many years ago when I had a summer job working at the state house. The legislative employees were big fans. At first I wondered why a baked potato place was so busy, but then I actually tried one. The potato filling is fluffy and buttery, and the toppings are amazing. I always try to come back when I'm in town. My stand by is the garlic butter and cheddar, but I also like the artichoke one and the vegetarian combo when I'm really hungry. I especially like the extra salad on top, and I save the couple of mango slices for last. It's the best cheap lunch you can get in Annapolis!

Potatos get 5 stars! Service gets 3 stars! Hours say they close at 6:00, but the doors were locked at 5:00 when I stopped by. I drove all the way from Columbia for their amazing potatoes. Seems like this is a trend, as this has happened to me before.

I really wanted to give a higher rating for such a unique place but the potatoes were tasty but not stellar. Also, the owner is a bit flighty but after 19 years it must be working for her. Her customer service was great! Lots of great vegetarian options too.

so so SOOOO good! Although I've only been here once, I was beyond satisfied to the point I'm gonna go ahead and give this place the seal of approval... my coworker brought in a chilli potato that smelled divine. I had all intentions of ordering that until I actually went to order and the owner and my other coworker that was present started up A convo ( they already knew each other) and advised us to try something else and even brought us samples! I ended up with the super yummy Cuban Chicken and my coworker got the special of the day aka Pulled Pork with Cole Slaw. As cooky as it sounds she said it was pretty good. I seriously can't wait to try more of their unique creations, even the vegetarian options sound tempting. It is a small area so I would suggest taking your order to go especially during Legislative Session season.

  • Ali D.

Great variety including vegetarian options. The condiments are freshly made and totally unique. But above all, the warmth of the owner is out of this world. You feel as if you were having a meal at the kitchen of your mother. It is just a great place to go.

Randomly found this place when we went to the base for the day. So yummy! Nice staff and they gave us some samples. The potatoes are brined before cooking so the skin is sooooo delicious!

I visited this place while I was visiting Naval Academy in Annapolis, MD. What a pleasant surprise. As soon as I walked in, I was instantly hit with the scent of baked potatoes. Yumm. Garlic butter & Cheddar Potato was fantastic and the sandwich I ordered "Ham and Havarti" was delicious. I really appreciated the clean bathroom when I walked in to wash my hands. If they keep the bathroom this clean, I am sure they keep everything else clean as well. I would definitely recommend this place to anyone and I would definitely come back again.

this place rocks my socks... as it clearly does for so many others. sure, i feel weird about spending roughly $8 on a friggin baked potato (are you kidding me, i was skeptical for so long), but the damn things are so delicious and warm and filling. i'm not a vegetarian but i love the artichoke mix potato and i like the addition of some fresh crunchy vegetables on everything. and the crispy onions. the only downside is if the line is long... it seems that the biggest pro tip is to call and order ahead.

  • Michele S.

Wonderful. Love those potatoes. Cuban chicken was so delicious. I'd definitely go back here next time I'm in Annapolis.

Absolutely fantastic! Everything is fresh and delicous. Barb and team always greet you with a smile ready to make you the perfect potato. Don't forget to order a cookie they are ridiculously good.

  • Erica C.

I agree with Vanessa on this one. There aren't a lot of cheap options in Annapolis. The idea of a baked potato cafe is pretty cool, but it has to be done right. This isn't really right. The potatoes are certainly microwaved....I'm not a fan a microwaved potatoes, but I understand if they can't have them sitting in an oven all day. The chicken is some prepackaged salad chicken. The bacon is bagged bacon bits. It's weird having a cheap salad on the top of a microwaved potato. It was a $9 potato.

My wife and I had one of the strangest dining experiences we've ever had here. We went for lunch on a Saturday. There was one couple In front of us when we arrived so we spent a minute looking at the menu. We then ordered two potatoes, and I asked the owner if they sold water. She said they had Fiji or tap water. I bent down to get a Fiji out of the mini fridge and saw there was also deer park water in the fridge so I asked if we could get those instead. She hesitated like she wanted to say no, and then said yes --but she clearly didn't want to sell us those waters. She then took my credit card and started on the order behind me. She gave me my card back and we had a seat. Ten to fifteen minutes later we still had not gotten our food, but noticed the people behind us had. My wife went up to the counter to check on things for us. The owner and her partner looked at her like they had no idea what she wanted (there were only 10 people in the place so it seemed odd that they wouldn't immediately realize she was waiting on her order). My wife then said we were waiting for our food and the woman said, "oh, what did you order?". She hadn't even received our ticket, and the owner, who was standing next to her, didn't say a thing. The owner and this woman couldn't have cared less that we were waiting for a long time and they lost our order - no apologies or acknowledgement. On top of that, my blue cheese and broccoli potato was drenched in sauced and I couldn't eat most of it. It seemed like a lot of people were happy with their food and the owner was friendly to many of them. But clearly I had ticked her off by asking to buy the cheaper water, and she punished us for it. One of the oddest dining experiences I've had.

I had the South of the Valley with extra jalapenos and banana peppers. The woman working was kind and informative and made sure to direct me to their vegan options. Their potatoes are not obscenely large, for which both my shorts and I were grateful, but it is a nice sized potato. The beans and corn typing was very flavorful. Maybe a little more veggies could have been thrown on top, but I was filled anyway, and definitely got my money's worth. This may seem like an unimportant detail to most people, but my absolute favorite part was after I had eaten all the toppings and potato chunks, the skin was left hollowed out and was a crunchy, chewy, roasted masterpiece of potato skin. I can imagine how good it tastes with their butter in it, but I was keeping it light. The place itself was cute and clean. I took mine to go and ate by the water and it was wrapped nicely for me. They have captured the art of the light meal scene. Overall, if you're looking for a simple and comforting lunch, swing by the Potato Valley Cafe for a meal that won't ruin any hope of having dinner too. I would really like to see what they could do with sweet potatoes if they should ever decide to expand the menu.

This place is excellent, many different flavors and varieties available. I got the Cuban Chicken Potato and the lime sour cream makes this dish amazing! Met the owners who were very nice. We will definitely be back!!

  • Moira M.

The owners are friendly and generous and the food has improved tremendously. Out too late the night before? Come here and get the broccoli blue cheese potato with bacon and olives. So good! Salads and soups are also very good - but get a potato, it's worth every calorie.

What could be better than a warm potato on a ... cold... July day. So this summer was weird. I normally opt for this spot in the cooler months but this is a great different type of lunch to quickly grab if you're looking to "think outside the bun", if you will. With an awesome owner who really speaks her mind at the cash register to the delish aroma as you enter the door. Potato Valley does not disappoint! They have an endless amount of options for potatoes and if you're feeling non starchy, you can also get a salad! They have sandwiches too. My favorite is the Chicken Curry. A mild sweet curry sauce with pineapple. It's heavenly! You can eat in, they have a couple tables. Or take it and run. Lots of choices! I highly recommend.

RUDE STAFF. I'm allergic to dairy. So I asked if I could get the vegetarian potato without cheese. The woman said she hadn't eaten meat in 30 years and seemed to understand. WRONG! Originally she said no I could not and then went on. My LT friend and I both got a bit lost in what exactly my option was. Another guy (no hair nets in this place BTW- nasty) took my order. I said butter was okay but not cheese. He said it could be done. I realized upon getting it that it had sour cream. I can't have that either. I took it to the counter and the woman rolled her eyes and said "I told you - you couldn't get that one". Sorry for the confusion I don't recall reading that....She then rolled her eyes again and threw away and then said "I got you" and I got a super bland Southwest potato. While the staff re made my potato the staff rudely talked about how I can't have cheese and the woman kept saying "no butter". I had already said no cheese but butter is fine. However listening is not this woman's strength. Super rude, unprofessional staff. The woman is a downright snob. I was also charged $2 more and wasn't offered a refund. I should dispute the charges but the woman left me practically in tears. Don't let them charge you 95 cents for the Tablespoon of avocado you get. Not worth it. AnneBeth down the road cheered me up. I ended up with a dry, flavorless, potato with some lettuce, cucumber, and beans for almost $10. Waste of time. Waste of money. I boycott this place. There is no place I hate more than Potato Valley Cafe.

Cute little cafe. The lady that works here is super nice and friendly!!! Food is good for a lil cafe. Their potatoes are amazing.

Great potatoes and sandwiches! I enjoy their cuban potato or the vegetarian ones the most. Their turkey and havarti and bacon sandwich is the bomb! Honestly, I have not had any bad food here yet. The potatoes are around 8-9$ a piece, which is understandable given what is on some of them, but its still hurts to think I can buy a potato at the store for 50 cents, but I guess thats the price of convenience and toppings!

    (5)
  • Amy P.

Everything here is yummy and convenient, although their hours are a bit odd. It seems like a lot of people stop in for lunch from the State House so there can be a bit of a lunch rush. Totally worth it though. Try the vegetarian combo, you will not regret it.

  • Elsa M.

I came here based on the Yelp reviews, but honestly, Potato Valley didn't blow me away. My chicken breast sandwich was good, but my potato and bacon soup was just ok. My lunch companion was not a fan of his salad with avocado, as it had a mayo-consistency that was unnecessary. On top of that, the lady behind the counter seemed really, really stressed out with the lunch rush, rushing people as they were trying to order. No one in the line seemed in a hurry or annoyed with the line so I don't know why she was freaking out. As we were deciding at the counter she rushed us saying, "Why don't you just get a potato. Everyone gets the potato." That and, "Why not the egg salad sandwich? Just get that." Sorry that you don't have a menu beyond the board for us to look at, but don't just rough us off as we decide. We weren't even taking long. The people behind us that she tried to take at the same time had to do the same thing so she was stuck 'waiting' twice. Just wasn't a nice experience. Highly doubt I'll be back.

Mr. And Mrs Potato head watch out or you will be served in one of the best local secrets in all of Annapolis! While I almost always get the same thing when I venture outside of my comfort zone or inquire form friends about their choices the reviews are always fantastic! Don't like potato ... they have you covered with great egg salad and tuna ... over all this is my favorite lunch haunt in Annapolis hands down!

My Fiance and I decided to get a quick bite to eat before we headed down to the tailor's and found this place nearby! It had decent reviews so we decided to try it. Baked potatoes aren't particularly my favorite style of potatoes to eat but since they were known for it, I wanted to give it a try. The owner was very friendly and even let us try the roasted dutch onions before we ordered our food. I ordered the Garlic Butter and Cheddar potato and my Fiance ordered the Smoked Turkey Sandwich. The baked potato was absolutely fantastic when it's all dressed up with yummy fillings. The sandwich was also great! I definitely look forward to going back and trying another potato.

What a cute concept and adorable little shop! I'm not really a baked potato eater but the first time I passed by Potato Valley Cafe with its long line and tantalizing smell I knew I had to try it! They change the specials all the time, which is cool because there's always something new to try! I had the South of Valley which was delicious and my friend loved his Vegetarian Combo. The potato was perfectly warm and baked and the flavors all mixed together really well (yes, I too was skeptical of the mango on my potato but it works). It's also super filling and I could only eat half of my potato. Great value and you have to at least try it once, otherwise you'll always wonder how these strange toppings put on top a baked potato could ever taste so good!

The baked potatoes are fantastic and with the level of service you get, this place provides some of the best value for your dollar in Annapolis. Barbara, the co-owner, was incredibly nice and friendly. I mentioned I always swing by when the store is closed (they're primarily a lunch place for the capitol building crowd), and she ended up giving me a discount for coming back to check so often! The baked potato was excellent. I had the Cuban. The chicken is marinated and bursting with flavor. The mix of the sour cream, cheese, and veggies pairs to make this a hearty and filling lunch. Go when it's cold. If you don't think a baked potato is a good platform for serving up deliciousness, check your preconceptions at the door. You won't regret it.

  • Barbara V.

Meet Barbara, the owner. She was super helpful as we were looking around to move into the area. Food: I had the Artichoke Mix and loved it. My mate had the Spinach and feta and the review was good. I loved the fresh salad components on top as it made it substantial. Potatoes were huge so you'll be full if that's all you get. I'll go back next time I'm in town.

Always a phenomenal lunch option in Annapolis! The woman who owns/manages/runs this place is very friendly and they have a variety of toppings you can put on your potatoes - I never realized how many tasty options you can have on a potato!. Try the Cuban option, you won't regret it. Seating can be a bit limited around lunch time.

  • Janet K.

This is the place to come when you are tired of sandwiches or overpriced, overrated crab cakes for lunch. Your big, steaming hot baked potato will come with a mini salad on the top, and underneath will be your choice of toppings. I went basic: garlic butter and cheddar, with some added avocado. Satisfying, a welcome break from then same old lunch, friendly staff, and a good price. Seek them out on the circle by the State House!

We were walking around Annapolis, and looking for something not too expensive for a light lunch. I whipped out my phone and brought up Yelp. This was one of the top rated places where meals would be around the $10 range As we approached the door, the couple in front of us made sure to let us know we picked a great spot. Good sign! Now, let this be said, I'm not a huge baked potato fan, but this place can make me a believer. I actually ordered a half sandwich/soup combo with a chicken sandwich. But after trying a bite of the Bacon & Cheddar potato, I'll be back to have one for myself. I got the Chicken Enchilada soup, which was AMAZING. It was spicy, creamy, and full of chunks of chicken and peppers. I wished I had gotten more. The sandwich on the other hand was blah. The chicken needed more seasoning and the sauce on the sandwich was overpowering. But it might have been the largest 1/2 sandwich I ever saw. Thinking back on the experience, I think that the chicken was probably pre-cooked, as I didn't see a kitchen in the place, but I'd rather see a place not offer things they can't do well than offer mediocre dishes. The bacon and cheddar potato was loaded with both bacon and cheddar, and had a salad on top of it that I really could skip. But it put a new definition to "loaded" baked potato. As every inch of this potato was covered in toppings. I'll definitely return to try one of the more interesting potatoes, like South of the Valley, Chicken Curry, or Cuban Chicken. This place is a great choice for an inexpensive, light lunch while shopping in downtown Annapolis, and the staff are incredibly friendly!

This is my favorite place for a (relatively) inexpensive, quick lunch in Annapolis (about $10). It is also a great place for vegetarians! The artichoke and spinach/feta potatoes are great, so great that I have not yet tried anything else on the menu. It's true that they are a little bit odd. There's not much in the vegetable department, it's mostly a big glop of cottage cheese. So it doesn't look appetizing, and doesn't have as much artichoke or spinach as you would have liked, but trust me, it's still delicious (and I don't really care for cottage cheese). I was very skeptical when I got my first potato but now I crave this stuff. They know what's up. (skip the south of the valley though, it's just canned beans and canned corn). You must eat the skin! They somehow manage to make it super crispy and buttery and amazing. Kind of tough to cut/tear apart but totally worth it. I always eat every last bite. Maybe they are twice-baked? I don't know. They are definitely not microwaved. Whoever said that was nuts. In fact, you can watch them take your potato out of the oven in the back of the kitchen. (Also, the person who said that the fillings are coleslaw has no clue what coleslaw is.) During legislative session, this place is full of delegates and senators and lobbyists, or at least full of their aides who are picking up lunch (be prepared for a longer lunch wait january-april). Outside of session it's a real neighborhood gem full of locals. The owner, Barbara, knows everybody and goes out of her way to make sure you get what you need. Hang out here in the afternoon and watch all the locals come by and catch up. it's heartwarming.

The reason this place is popular is that there aren't very many good, affordable lunch options in Annapolis. Compared to a lot of the greasy, expensive stuff you can find in Annapolis, this place is good. Potatoes are decent. They must be baked or microwaved ahead of time, then microwaved again when ordered. The menu is confusing. Too many items. A lot of the toppings are unidentifiable, creamy, slightly sweet thick sauce with some fresh veggies. So, it's edible. Some of the ingredients are identifiable, like lettuce, cucumber, and yellow pepper, and some aren't. This is an ok place to eat that will fill you up and won't give you food poisoning, for about $11 including your drink.

Shockingly excellent potatoes. Everything works - the stringy cheese, the salad on the side. I had a blue cheese + broccoli potato; the blue cheese sauce was very thin, which worked with the rest of the dish. I'd definitely go back, and tres cheap to boot, but I live in Rockville, so I'm not coming much.

This place is 'as good as it gets'!! The potato was perfect, the onions are yummmmm, but really the best part for us was the 5 STAR service from Barbara and her team. We arrived 3 minutes prior to closing and they welcomed us as if we were their first customer of the day. Barbara took care of us, made us everything we desired, and it all tasted wonderful!! We hung around while they cleaned up and really got to know Barbara's funny side, she really is a character. Thanks again for your perfect, funny service; great food and making us feel so welcomed to your eatery. Till next time...

This is regarding the sandwiches. You can get a very good sandwich at potato valley provided you know how to order. Their french roll and whole wheat are very good breads, but the multigrain provides for an underwhelming sandwich. I'm almost positive it has less filling and although it's decent, it's much less impressive than the other breads (and hence sandwiches). In truth, multigrain downgrades the sandwich to the level of a Chick & Ruth sandwich. It's also a bit strange how havarti is the sole cheese of choice. Although creamy, it lacks flavor. They should offer a bit more variety.

You'd think to yourself, "OK, really? How many different ways can you have a baked potato?" But we were ready for lunch, and the woman at Capital Teas said it was good and she was right! There was a line out the door for this place. Very comforting and they had pretty unique toppings, things I wouldn't have thought to put on a potato. Next time we're in Annapolis, we'll be going there again.

Food was really well prepared and tasty. Staff was very friendly. Would suggest it to anyone. There is a learning curve to the menu but the staff was very helpful in making a decision. A nice alternative to the other options in town.

I love this place! The potatoes are incredible. They are not cheap, but there are so may toppings that even with the more basic potatoes it is almost like having a salad and potato at the same time. I always go with the cheddar and garlic butter potato. It's topped with a number of veggie options, but I stick with lettuce, roasted onions, cucumber and tomato (instead of peppers) and add avocado. Delicious! The menu is a bit confusing but the lady at the counter is very kind and patient. She also gave my husband a very generous tasting of the sauces and toppings to help him with his decision making. The place is small, but we've never had trouble finding a seat. There are even nice magazines to flip through while eating. I wish they were open on Sundays too.

So fantastic! Best baked potatoes in the world. Toppings for all taste buds. The con is that the restaurant is small and parking is difficult. Consider getting it for pick up and having a friend pull up while you run in.

Yummy, yummy, yummy in my tu- tu- tummy! This place is fabulous. I had the vegetarian potato with 15 vegetables and it rocked my world. I am considering going back to Annapolis just to have another meal here. I also ordered the iced coffee, which was just right. Service was quick and friendly. However, just as we were leaving a huge line began forming out the door for the lunch rush, so I can see how Sam's comments make sense.

I found this place by accident and I'm very glad I did. I was in Annapolis for the day and was looking for a quick bit and I saw "cafe" so figured this was the perfect place. The menu is a little confusing. They have a section called "mixed greens" or something similar that is the next section over from the potato section on the menu. I didn't know, however, that this meant stuff that's included on the potato. I thought when I ordered the feta, spinach, garlic, and bacon, that I was getting a salad. I was glad I was wrong because the potato was delicious. It did take a little long to serve (about 10 min), but it was very good. My potato ended up having feta, sour cream, spinach, roasted peppers, banana peppers, and bacon. Might sound "weird", but was very good. Staff was friendly too. I can't picture myself going here every day because how often can I eat a baked potato? Very good though.

Potato Valley cafe is ok. I've been here a few times and will go back in the future. The potatoes are big and the toppings are all fresh and tasty, but don't expect a mind blowing experience. You want a potato with some stuff on it? Well hey they've got a good selection and the service is great. The menu is pretty big, but I still feel they're missing an opportunity with more hot fillings/toppings. (I was disappointed by the curry as it's more of a sweet curry slaw than the spicy hot curry I was expecting.) I do enjoy the place and would recommended it to anyone because sometimes a potato with veggies, salsa and dressing can really hit the spot but, hey, it's just a potato.

Surprisingly their potatoes were pretty good. Simple the better---garlic and butter was what I got and we totally ripped that things apart with 2 other friends. We got the artichoke as well but it was too creamy. But the owners are really sweet and you can take a free orange!

I like places that focus on one thing and do it really well, and this place is no exception. There's something special about how they do their potatoes. They execute it in such a way that the skin is crunchy and the inside is fluffy~ I got mine with the chicken curry and enjoyed it. I was craving Japanese curry and figured this might work to tide me over. It's a very mild curry of the tropical coconutty variety and it's pretty darned tasty. Still, I fixated on how it would be amazing if there were a Japanese style curry option. Sometimes there just isn't getting around a craving. They also usually top their potatoes with these crispy Dutch onion thingies that are like the French's stuff, but with a deeper flavor profile. There's a lot of flavors to choose from. You might think there's only a number of ways to top a baked potato and then it dawns on you that, well no, actually a potato is so mild mannered that it's the perfect vehicle for all kinds of delicious flavors and then the genius of the people behind this place really sinks in. Speaking of the people here, the nice lady at the counter gives off this comfortable relative-like vibe. Anyway, it took me a while to decide on my topping because I am often indecisive, but if you're planning on going, it might not hurt either way to glance at the menu online. The way the place is set up looks nice, but the menu is harder to read from the store front. Just to warn you: As what appears to be the case with many food places in this side of Annapolis, there doesn't seem to be a lot of indoor seating. Still, if you're a fan of potatoes and you want an affordable meal in Annapolis, definitely check this place out. I'm going to make it a point to try all of the other flavors and look forward to going back.

Great little spot downtown. Not much to say - the name speaks for itself. The dishes are all potato based but all done very well. It's a bit on the pricier end, but this is Annapolis, and they are located literally across the street from the State House. Give it a whirl - you won't be disappointed.

I love the cuban lime chicken and the chicken curry potato. I like to ask for an extra side of mix too to dip the skins in when I'm done. The brownies are pretty good too.

I have lived in Annapolis for 4 years and yesterday I found a wonderful lunch spot--- Potato Valley Cafe! I went with one of my girlfriends/ coworkers becuase I have had my eye on it for awhile but it is downtown annapolis so parking is always a little tough in that area. I recieved the Living Social coupon which was for $20 and I only paid $10. When you walk in the cafe the menu is on the left wall. It is a little confusing menu but now that I have done it once I think I am good to go. They have a variety of different topings for potatoes. I got the Cuban and my friend got the brocolli and cheddar. One potato is PLENTY for meal. The lady at the front area was soooo kind. She let us sample a variety of different toppings and made us feel right at home. I was on my phone trying to pull up the Living Social coupon and she must have known exactly what I was doing. The bill acturally was higher then $20 and she said to not worry about the difference. She just took my last name (apperantly, she can just mark my name off a list that I used the coupon) and we were done. We sat outside and ate our yummy lunch. It was such a fun experience and I will definitely go back!! The nice lady even came out side to ask us how we liked it and check up on us. I was very impressed by this cafe. You won't be disapointed. Just be patient when you are ordering becuase it is a little overwhelming but WELL WORTH IT! I can't wait for my next visit!

I'm a potato addict and stop in when I can. They cook the potatos correctly and you can get your choice of toppings from all sorts of veggies, chicken, bacon, cheese, etc. Price is around $8-9 for a loaded potato. My only complaint would be the portion of chicken they provide is fairly small for the price.

I stumbled upon this great hidden cafe while walking around Annapolis today! Potato, Potato, Potato. I only went in for a cup of soup but as I saw the trays and bags pass by me, I quickly changed my mind to a Bacon and Cheddar Oven Roasted Baked Potato. It was topped with shredded lettuce, cucumbers, bell peppers and pepper rings. I don't get to Annapolis much but this is one spot that I will have to return to soon :) The sample of the soup of the day" Chicken Gumbo with sausage was great too.

I must say that I was a bit apprehensive going to a restaurant where baked potatoes were the main focus. I ordered a baked potato with garlic butter, greens and baked onions. It was delicious and the service was very friendly. I'd definitely go again for a quick lunch next time I'm in Annapolis.

Thank you!

  • Marykay F.

If you are previewing the menu online before you arrive at the store you will be surprised to learn that the PRICES ARE INCORRECT AND THEY DO NOT MAKE ANY ATTEMPT TO HONOR THE DIFFERENCE. She was rude about it too ! She simply said and that won't get changed for a year or more - I will think twice about going back again

this place rocks my socks... as it clearly does for so many others. sure, i feel weird about spending roughly $8 on a friggin baked potato (are you kidding me, i was skeptical for so long), but the damn things are so delicious and warm and filling. i'm not a vegetarian but i love the artichoke mix potato and i like the addition of some fresh crunchy vegetables on everything. and the crispy onions. the only downside is if the line is long... it seems that the biggest pro tip is to call and order ahead.

Absolutely fantastic! Everything is fresh and delicous. Barb and team always greet you with a smile ready to make you the perfect potato. Don't forget to order a cookie they are ridiculously good.

  • Bethany W.

  • Tracey G.

  • Briana H.

  • Dan H.

Potatos get 5 stars! Service gets 3 stars! Hours say they close at 6:00, but the doors were locked at 5:00 when I stopped by. I drove all the way from Columbia for their amazing potatoes. Seems like this is a trend, as this has happened to me before.

  • Jess B.

    (4)
  • Ali D.

Great variety including vegetarian options. The condiments are freshly made and totally unique. But above all, the warmth of the owner is out of this world. You feel as if you were having a meal at the kitchen of your mother. It is just a great place to go.

I must say that I was a bit apprehensive going to a restaurant where baked potatoes were the main focus. I ordered a baked potato with garlic butter, greens and baked onions. It was delicious and the service was very friendly. I'd definitely go again for a quick lunch next time I'm in Annapolis.
