After having the pleasure of having some of the best BBQ, in the state of Tn, Famous Dave's had a lot to live up to. Walking into Famous Dave's is like going into Bass Pro Shop, and some type of L.L.Bean roadhouse. Decor representing the outdoors and some excellent music from Earl King was playing when I entered. The menu offered a lot of barbecue options, I went with the pulled pork (Georgia Chopped pork). This slow cooked favorite is served on a piece of toast, covered in sweet and sassy sauce ( there are also sauces on the table, sweet sassy, devil's spit, Wilbur's revenge, etc.), served with two sides of your choice. I went with the redskin mashed potato's and steamed broccoli. My first bite into the pork was some what disappointing, though good , it wasn't the best I've ever had. I ended up being bold and dowsing the entire plate of pork in their hottest sauce, Wilbur's Revenge XXX ( totally hot but good, reminded me a little too much of Quaker Steak and Lube Atomic wing sauce). The sides were okay, flavorless broccoli and okay mashed potato's. The meal was okay at best, I did try my gf's rib tips, they were... OK. Overall a halfway decent meal, i did trow in a extra star for the cornbread muffins :-). But this place is more 2 stars at the end of the day. On a side note service was quick, the place wasn't too busy, but our sever was friendly and fast. - Take out is available - Sauces are sold individually - Catering (location specific)

Went up twice in the last week. Both times the same hostess was lying down (not even sitting, lying down) on the bench in front of the hostess stand texting on her phone. The bar staff was great (I think it was Chris and Amanda, they were awesome), but the rest of the service was not up to par.

This is a decent main stream chain to hit up if you are in the mood for BBQ. We went for lunch on a weekday and it was pretty quiet. I don't eat much meat if any, so I got a salad and potato which was delicious and included this awesomely tasty corn bread muffin. Loved it. The salad was a decent size and the potato came how you like it.. loaded. Hubby ate his half rack of meat and looked like he just enjoyed every finger licking bite. They also gave him a free birthday sundae as it was his birthday - very sweet. Service was ok - a girl Joradan served us and she was bubbly, a bit artificial but served us well for the most part. We will probably go back!

Really Really Good BBQ!!! I loved it and I'm not a rib person. The ribs here are so good, they really do fall off the bone, and the brisket was so tender and soft, I could have eaten all of it. We got the platter for 2 that you share though so I couldn't be hogging it all. I didn't care too much for the beans, but that just gave me more room for the corn, biscuts, ribs, chicken and brisket. Everything exceeded my expectation. As far as being "dirty" I think the restaurant is made to look this way. Nothing was actually dirty, it's just a wierd ambiance, they have dirty looking road signs and tin basins stuck to the walls

We ordered the feast for two and it was TONS of food! The ribs were awesome and tender, and I really liked the corn bread. We ordered our food to go, and I was diss appointed when I got home and there was no butter for the bread, no ketchup for the fries and no moist hand wipes. Other than that it was great

Ate at the bar. Entire surface was sticky like it hadn't been cleaned in months. During dinner/happy hour it was completely empty. I got the burnt ends which had looked so good on their commercial. They seemed overly and sweetly sauced as if to cover up what the meat actually tasted like. I had also gone there for carry out lunch there recently. The staff was so confused at the counter because it seemed like no one was in charge. I waited for 30 minutes for a simple order and all because no one knew the item had been sitting in the window for 20 minutes. No compensation or attempt to make things right. I think I'll save my business for when I feel like driving to Mission BBQ or Red, Hot and Blue.

Uhhhh, Im writing this review regrettably. I like Famous Dave's but my experience at the one in Annapolis was very lackluster. (1) No introduction? The problems started when we first came in. We had people in our party who never been there before. So I thought they were gonna get the whole spiel about the different bbq sauces like I did on my first time. But it NEVER happened. (2) My drink. I ordered a dacquiri that turned out to be the wrong consistency, as if they were running out of ice or something. And it definitely didnt taste like there was any liquor in it at all. It had some frothy, bubbly shit on top. Idk it was just bad. (3) His Meal. My boyfriends meal was supposed to be the half a rib slab and a meat. He ordered it with a half bbq chicken. When the bbq chicken half came out, it looked more like a large thigh. Thats it. And when I came here before I swore they actually gave us a whole half a chicken. He ended up with less food than me and his sister who just ordered the two meats platter. Which was $2 less than what he got. (4) The service. Our service left much to be desired. I noticed our waitress was real chatty and attentive to her other patrons but less attentive to us. And I hate to make this a race issue, but I kind of got the feeling it was because we were black. Maybe not, but thats definitely what it looked like. All in all, I did not enjoy my dining experience as a whole. (5)The sides. The macaroni and cheese tasted like it was cooked with nacho cheese, you know the kind from the movie theaters?? And my green beans werent very flavorful. The cornbread muffin that I had every intention on eating, came saturated in some type of sweet n sour sauce on my plate. I guess they didnt care enough to not put my bread in my sauce. HOWEVER, the food was GREAT! The variety of bbq sauces makes eating here pretty exciting. And I will definitely be returning to my local Famous Dave's.

Beer can hickory chicken exclusive. Grilled corn. Citrus grilled salmon. This was THE best chain food I have had lately. We got surveryed because I tried some prototype food or something like that(I might turn into a zombie for BBQ brains or the such). Our meals were great. The corn was normal, could use some better grilling style and maybe a little seasoning.

How many times can you serve me shoe leather and call it BBQ? I've eaten here a dozen times and only twice was the food any good. The real Famous Dave should take notice. I've eaten Dave's BBQ at competitions and there's no comparison, this place might as well serve the McRib. The ribs are extremely tough and way too expensive. I have to say the sauces are amazing. Again this is not a knock on Famous Dave himself rather the crappy franchise with his name upon the front door.

For a chain, these guys really know what they are doing. Evidently Mr Dave travels the country looking for the best BBQ recipies, and brings it all together here. The staff is always friendly and accomidating. You get a vibe that the place is well managed and they care about what they are doing. Good drink selection...like those smokin teas! The menu has a wide variety of BBQ that is always well prepared, with all kinds of sauces at the table to personalize to your taste. I like the BBQ sandwiches and the ribs. Not too crazy about the brisket, but maybe its just me. This place is just consistantly good!

Famous Dave's is the best BBQ joint in Annapolis. Their food is AMAZING. I have been going here for years and have never had a bad experience that I could think of... except for the wait on weekend nights because the food is just that good. I'm a huge fan of salads, and their Crispy Chicken Salad is fabulous. My mom ALWAYS gets the Dave Burger and their ribs are also quite tasty. Their brisket sandwich with coleslaw on top is devine. Although I do have to say that my favorite menu items here are the muffins (absolutely delicious--if you don't get them with your meal, order one!) and the Kahlua Brownie for dessert. Take home a bottle of BBQ sauce with you to relive the experience at home! Great for large groups if you get the feasts which come in upside-down trashcan lids but full of a mishmosh of everything you could want. Takeout is always a great option -- I have them on speed dial for nights after work when I want good food and don't want to cook!

Was just at this Famous Dave's on March 13th. Service was no problem. Our party of 5 was seated quickly which was surprising for a Friday night. I think something has changed. The salads came out differently than usual. It might be the new plastic asymmetric salad bowls (not a fan) but the salad looked smaller. No more cornbread muffins: instead it was square-cut cornbread. Ok, but didn't quite taste the same. I just heard from other family members that went back since and they said the place has really been changed: some of the dishes don't taste the same (bread pudding) and some were removed (drunken apples, green beans) from the menu. All the unique decor that gives the place personality is gone - it's all been removed. The restaurant now only puts 2 sauces on the table. The others are upon request. The restaurant doesn't provide hand wipes on the tables anymore. Even the big carved bear is gone. A lot of small and large changes that add up. My family is horribly disappointed in the changes. I don't think we'll be back which is a shame since the place always seemed so busy before. No longer.

Before yesterday, I had only had famous Dave's catering which has always been great. Their ribs are delicious and literally fall off the bone. Yesterday, I ordered take out for the first time and I got burnt ends and the ultimate burger (which is a burger topped with bacon and pulled pork). Everything was absolutely amazing. The burger was HUGE (although it wasn't medium like I asked but that's not a huge deal to me) and it was super tasty, as well as the burnt ends which also came with some onion strips. Service was pretty good, the girl seemed newer but didn't hesitate to ask for help so she could make sure she got everything right and she was very sweet. I would definitely go back, but order less food bc I barely touched my burnt ends and didn't get to eat my fries since the burger was so big.

Having eaten at another Famous Dave's recently that was absolutely fantastic, I found myself unpleasantly surprised at the food and service at this location. Don't get me wrong - the food was decent - very edible - but it lacked some of the flavor that you'd typically get by going to another location. Further the service was sub-par. Following delivery of the meals, the server came back ONLY to deliver the check. The other two times he was at the table before then was due to the fact that we stopped him as he hastily rushed by to go somewhere else. (And the place wasn't even busy.) At the end of the day, this wasn't the best OR the worst experience i've had at a restaurant, so I'd go back - but I wouldn't have high hopes.

We ate here because our hotel was in the same parking lot and we had just driven hours and just wanted to get some food. With that said the staff was really nice. The food was ok and the prices were average. Nothing really stood out good or bad.

This place has great BBQ for a chain and the sides are pretty delicious too. If you're going to get something, get the brisket and cornbread above all else. The mac-n-cheese is probably my least favourite, as they make it with jalapenos - That won't keep me away though!

These guys catered barbeque for a birthday bash I attended, and they certainly knew how to bring on the meat. Fruit and pasta salads round out the selection of proteins; ribs grilled right in front of us, wings a bit light on sauce but still not bad, and a tender brisket on the verge of melting in your mouth. Shredded pork goes so fast that you'll want to skimp on the beans. Probably wouldn't try them in-house, but a great way to pass a summer afternoon with beers in hand.

Not a fan of chain BBQ places but this one may have made me rethink that. Haven't had good BBQ since I moved from Texas. Ribs were SO good! They had about 6 different types of sauce out on the table. They have a good variety of sides offered, as well. Kids meals (at least the cheeseburgers) were generously sized. My son ate all of his burger and he doesn't do that often. I think the prices are much better for lunch and early bird; would give 5 stars if the regular menu items were a few dollars less. Definitely will go back for those ribs though. Oh! Our service was great, too!!

Stopped on our way to the airport after a week of traveling. My ribs were perfectly done and the glaze caramelized to perfection. My husband had the "feast for one" and boy, was it a feast! Only complaint was the beer menu. No dark beers on draft or in the bottle. An entire genre of beers taken off for summer wheat beers. Boo hoo. Otherwise, Great stop and great service.

In MD for business and stopped by because of the pictures I saw on here of their ultimate burger. Unfortunately they didn't have it, not sure why. I settled for the chicken tenders plate with baked beans, corn, and cornbread with a side of Mac and cheese. Everything was fresh and really good. They even got the sweet tea right, being from NC where it runs in our veins, although I was skeptical being further north. Service was good, drink stayed full, overall a a good experience.

Went here 3pm on a Thursday. I go here about 2-3 times a year. I wanted to try some other bbq brisket besides my favorite at MISSION BBQ. As usual the staff was OK. By the end of are meal I got the feeling I messed up the waitress's break time or getting off time. She asked if we wanted dessert and we said no thanks and she gave us are check before we could ask for another beer. So threw in the napkins and went some where else for more drinks during Happy Hour. The wife and I got the lunch specials that ran until 4:30pm and 2 beers for 32 dollars. Wife got Stuffed baked potato and salad, she liked her meal. I had the 2 meat (brisket & rib tips) and a side redskin mash potatoes. The brisket was great tender and not dry. The rib tips were the dry style. Food was a plus Cleanliness was a plus Waitress was like most younger generation your bothering me I'm trying to Facebook and text my friends at their jobs. I'm still looking for those waitress's that are happy to see me come in and spend money at their establishment.

When my husband and I went to eat at the Famous Daves in Annapolis today, I have to say I was impressed with everything! When we entered the staff was very attentive and the Manager Mike came around to see how everyone was doing, which was very nice! The service was outstanding! (Dave, was an excellent server/bartender). The food comes put so mouthwatering on a platter! Everything from their corn on the cob to the pulled pork was fabulous! Thanks Famous Daves, Mike, and Staff for overall 5 stars on our dining experience today and having us want to come back!!

We came here for the first time with some family yesterday. I would describe our overall experience as average at best. We got the Georgia Pork sandwich for lunch and our family got the big family style platter of several different meats and sides. The pulled pork was okay but definitely more dry than I'm used to. It even looked as if the sides were just throw on the plate. The overall service was okay at best. It didn't feel welcoming coming in first impression. I would highly recommend passing on this pass and taking my business across the street to Mission BBQ where the quality of food is much higher and the service is throw the roof!

We were at the bowling alley for a birthday party and decided to stop in. I've eaten at a few other Famous Dave's (Laurel, Waldorf, Alexandria) and I am usually satisfied. Yesterday, not so much. Since it was covered in ice outside, I wasn't expecting a long wait and I was right. We were seated right away. It took the waitress, Meghan, about 10 minutes to come to our table. She took our drink orders and my daughter asked her for crayons since she did not get any with her menu. Meghan stated she would get her some. After another long wait, we finally got our appetizer, a wing basket. Still no crayons. They came after we finished our wings. Shortly after we finished our wings, the food came (a feast for two). Nothing was hot. Some of it wasn't even warm. It seemed as if it was sitting on the shelf waiting. The food was not as flavorful as others FD's that I have been to. The corn looked disgusting, but I did not make a big deal because we are not big corn eaters. The onion strings were half ok, half burnt. The country roasted chicken was really good, I just wish I had the option of getting BBQ chicken. The ribs were half ok, half burnt. Two of them weren't even edible they were so hard. The broccoli was just ok. The brisket, which is usually my favorite, was way too fatty for my liking. The only reason I did not send the food back was because we had already been there for about an hour. With the weather potentially getting worse, I just wanted to go home. Also, the service was extremely slow and mediocre. I expected a little faster service since the place was so empty, but I guess I was expecting too much. We spent about 90 minutes in the place. However, Meghan was pleasant. I will not return to this Famous Dave's for two reasons: 1) I don't live close and have no reasons to really visit Annapolis and 2) It just isn't worth coming back to.

I have been going to Famous Dave's for a few years now and each time I've gone back the value and quality keeps slipping. This last time was a deal breaker and we will b seeking new bbq places. My rib tips were a mix of dry leather and overly chewy with zero smoky flavor and oh also missing, the menu's promised spicy pickles and onions on the side. My wife's St. Louis ribs were far better but overall just not worth it. Several items r no longer on the menu and when we first went to Dave's they had early specials, mix and match for cheap along with a couple beers made Dave's a tasty and good deal. Thx Dave for the memories we will be exploring new bbq choices now.

The only thing better than meat cooked with fire is meat cooked with smoke -- Famous Dave's has that elusive treat! Sporting some of the best bbq sauce in the world (awards abound), this national chain tries to bring the original taste and experience to the masses. Many might argue that Adam's Ribs is better, but I believe that Famous Dave's edges-out this local favorite. They serve true smoked barbecue rather than boiled and grill finished ribs like Adam's -- and that makes all the difference. Sometimes the quality is hit or miss -- maybe it depends on the meat or the management. But, overall, Famous Dave's is one of the better barbecue spots in the area.

I LOVE THIS PLACE and I wish I lived here still just for their yummy BBQ sauces. I love getting their brisket....it comes on Texas toast! Their ribs are also to die for. They also have some unique sides that you can choose from. I am a fan of their firecracker green beans. My favorite sauce is the Sweet and Sassy and Devil's Spit. Oh how I would love some brisket right now!

Stopped here after trip to the Apple Store in Annapolis Mall. Was pleasantly surprised by the food, I had the Chicken and it was excellent. I like my chicken thoroughly cooked, and this was outstanding. Hal had ribs and was also very impressed. We plan to go back.

At a nearby hotel. I needed a BBQ fix even though I like my own BBQ. This place was better than the normal chain places. Service was good. Price was good too. Good choice for BBQ.

As good as some of the other Famous Dave's I've eaten at. We have been to many of them is multiple states. The service was just a bit slow but overall I would eat here again.

This place was disgusting. Dirty, and the food was gross. Avoid it like the plauge you're likely to get by eating here.
