Boyfriend and I, after experiencing the worst service in the Annapolis area, decided to drop by for brunch on our way home. The wait: 5 minutes The service: AMAZING! So friendly and their sense of urgency is just unbelievable. The food: wow. The waffles were soft and fluffy on the inside and toasted just enough on the outside. Drool.. Then there's this berry-jam mixture thing.. It was delicious. I also had to try the Eggs Benedict. It was okay, I would've preferred more hollandaise sauce, but it was still very good. I would totally recommend this place to anyone in the area and if I lived closer, it would be my regular brunch spot.

Great place for breakfast. Would definitely go back. I loved the marinated steak eggs Benedict. My daughter also loved her crab eggs Benedict. Good coffee and fresh orange juice. Two others were happy with there meals too Great service.

l'll admit that this spot is on my one and done list. Nice enough establishment but it seemed something was lacking. Maybe I was all in my feelings this morning but if I ask for buttered wheat toast don't bring me the toast and butter and hint that I should do it myself. I did like how they had the preserves in little jars on the table. I had the strawberry preserves and it was yummy. There was a 20 minute wait to be seated. I didn't mind because it is the weekend breakfast/brunch crowd around 1000. I ordered the hot tamale frittata that came with breakfast potatoes and wheat toast. I expected it to be a little spicier but I remedied that by adding a few splashes of tabasco to my items. All items were flavorful and I was satisfied with the portion. Plenty of options to choose from depending on how hungry you are. Parking can be a challenge since it's in an area where there are neighboring stores.

All they serve is Brunch and they serve it very well. The pricing is average for Annapolis. Its a gem that many locals frequent and for a good reason the menu is filled with many great dishes. The omlettes are amazing and the fruit smoothies are a must have every time you go!

Wow what a great place. Was in Annapolis for a lacrosse tournament and found this place on Yelp, it is tucked away in a strip mall so your GPS may not find it. This place is well worth the trip. Get the Crabs Benedict, excellent crab meat and seasoning, also the breakfast burrito is great they will also give you a coffee to go

We love coming here for a breakfast date. Whether it is baked eggs florentine or a great selection of omelettes. All is well prepared and delicious.

Excellent service and the coffee was strong and flavorful. The food was somewhat bland, but decent. I would go again.

Loved the crab hash: Fresh, good quality eggs and crab. Nice brunch with lots of fresh options.

This is simply a good restaurant with a focus on breakfast and lunch only. Let's just say mission accomplished! Homemade preserves and fast service is just what you need when you are waiting on the most important meal of the day, breakfast! If you are in the Annapolis area you must stop in Eggcellence. Do not be fooled by the exterior (it is in a strip mall) they have good food. I recommend any of the Frittas and the pancakes are a must!

Just in town for a event and my family was concerned about getting started on time. I looked at local breakfast spots and this jumped out at me . So while the rest of the clan got ready I swung by Eggcellence on the way I called ahead and ordered breakfast sandwiches WOW ! they are great and stacked you can easily split if you are not a big breakfast fan. Very well crafted I highly recommend - often to do something very simple says more about a place - Do yourself a favor start your day here

Best place in Annapolis for Breakfast! They are fast, and will make anything you want!

After being totally ignored at Double T Diner (see the update on that review), I came here for breakfast. I remembered why I liked this place so much. It's small and a little out of the way which is fine for me. The staff is friendly. I was seated right away and given coffee. They took my order (the corned beef with poached eggs) which was delicious with real corned beef and potatoes - not the stuff that comes out of a can. This is where I'll be coming for breakfast from now on. The portion sizes are reasonable and the prices are in line with the quality of the food and service.

Any place that offers scrapple as an option merits 5 stars in my book. The Chesapeake Benedict is delicious too. I come here after church whenever I visit annapolis.

Excellent food, even greater service. Definitely recommend. (Sweet potato pancakes and breakfast burrito were VERY good)

Solid breakfast and brunch dishes, for a reasonable price. But nothing to write home about. The restaurant sits in a strip mall area in Annapolis, and can be easily passed over if you are not looking for it. The place needs more creative dishes. Only one worth noting is the crab hash. Overall, great service and the good came out hot and quick.

For some reason, people rave about this restaurant. At best it's an "okay" place to get breakfast if you happen to be on west side of town on a weekday morning, but not a destination and definitely not worth waiting for a seat there on crowded weekend mornings. My peeps said the Eggs Benedict was a must-try, so I tried it and was, like, meh!

I had the Chesapeake Benedict. It was good but barely had any hollandaise sauce on it. Their potatoes were delicious. I also got toast because I wanted to try their homemade jellies. It was good.

On my Saturday morning breakfast quest I stumbled upon the reviews for Eggcellence.. I must say after trying another egg themed restaurant in the area I didnt think another could compare, boy was I surprised! The service was fairly quick as we were seated within 7 minutes of arrival, and the servers made it feel more like breakfast at a family members home rather than in a restaurant. Our food came out quickly and everything was delicious! I ordered the pancakes they had on special and my breakfast partner ordered regular pancakes, both of us were overly satisfied with our meals! The pancakes were rather large for me and i couldnt finish them but thats more of a personal problem than anything they could have done. It was also a nice cherry on top when they asked if we would like a refill of our coffee to go, not many places does that! The only reason i deducted a star was upon sitting at the table one of the coffee mugs and a set of silverware appeared not to be cleaned properly, but since there was only two of us at a four person table I switched it out with a set that wasnt being used.

Great find in our new neighborhood. Busy with regulars. Wonderful service. Family atmosphere. Nice selection of breakfast dishes. The management is very attentive and our server was upbeat and solicitous. We even had another server stop by the table to fill my coffee and chat and he referred us to another restaurant in town we might want to check out! Lots of crab dishes as is the norm here in Maryland. No wait, attentive service with a smile and good coffee!

We came in at around 1pm on a Saturday. Prompt service. Kind server. Food came quickly. Drinks were kept full. Server was attentive and courteous. Food was DELICIOUS! Our kids each had the banana blintz and my husband and I split the crabmeat hash. Our server even put it on separate plates for us! The restaurant was fairly quiet and had a great brunch atmosphere. We'd definitely come again!! Only downside - no Mimosas or Bloody Mary's!! What is brunch without a morning cocktail? Either way - great place!!

I stopped in on Sunday on a whim (an maybe a craving for Eggs Benedict). The parking lot was pretty full, as was the front waiting area when I walked in, so I expected a bit of a wait. But in less than 10 minutes, I was seated and ready to peruse the menu. They appeared to have several tasty options (note for self upon return....try something new!) but since I was absolutely dying for EB, I stuck with the classic. My server, "Griz", was quick with the coffee, fast with the food service, and just attentive enough to let me know he hadn't forgotten about me. The food was good, although the Canadian Bacon was pretty thin and almost unnoticeable. Why so stingy with the meat? If it hadn't been for that, I'd have given 5 stars.

Great food. Great atmosphere. The best homemade muffins you will find, made everyday by Mr. Will. Portions are a good size and the prices are reasonable. Our go to for the weekend.

I like this place so I dine here A LOT. The staff is attentive, some are friendlier than others but service is ALWAYS good. The weekends are crazy busy 10 am to 1 pm. For years, I've gotten the same thing: The American. It's good. The bacon keeps changing from okay to fantastic and now back to okay. I'm picky about how my eggs are cooked and the kitchen takes my instruction and cooks my eggs properly. The menu has a decent variety of breakfast and lunch fare. People I have dined with over the years all liked their food. Is it gourmet or the best breakfast you'll ever eat? No, but it is consistently good, the kitchen is accommodating, the restaurant and bathrooms are very clean, there's ample parking, and it is a nice dining experience. I take my mom here often and she always sees someone she knows or meets someone and starts a chit-chat. It's a friendly atmosphere. My faves: The breakfast potatoes. They are red-skinned potatoes cooked with the skin on and pan-fried with onions and seasoning.

The breakfast was okay. Nothing to write home about. I remember thinking, I should've made breakfast at home. The service okay as well.

My husband and I were seated right away this time but we waited almost 10 minutes before the waitress came by to bring us water and take our drink order. After another 5 minutes she came back with our drinks and took our order. A party of NINE were seated AFTER us but they got their food BEFORE us. They were almost done with their meal and we were still waiting for our food!!! The waitress never came out to refill my husband's empty coffee cup either as we waited for over HALF AN HOUR for our order! We walked out. This is our second experience here and I can't say we will be coming back. Our first experience we had slow service (but not as HORRIFIC as today) but the quality of food made up for it which is why we decided to come back today. We waited so long it is now LUNCH TIME and we went to Peri-Peri down the street for lunch. I wish I could give ZERO stars.

We came to Annapolis for a wedding, used Yelp for the first time. This was recommended for the Crab Hash, sounded very interesting. This was Great!!! , my husband ordered the Sampler and his was Great also. Short drive from Hotel, Directions don't tell u it is IN the Shopping Center in the Back next to Staples. But well worth the drive !!!

Tried this cozy eatery today and was not disappointed. My husband and I love breakfast, and this restaurant did not disappoint. When we arrived it was busy and there were a few patrons waiting. We thought there would be a long wait-time, but we were seated after 5 minutes! Our meals arrived maybe 10 minutes after we ordered. I had the Mediterranean baked eggs and fruit, and he had the Eggs Benedict. Needless to say, we were pleased and satisfied! Great experience:-))

Came here for breakfast after hearing about this place from a few different friends. We were seated right away and although the place was not full we could barely get our waiter's attention the entire time. The food was just ok and was definitely overpriced for what it was. I would definitely not come back here after the mediocre food and even worse service.

First of all Eggcellence is the greatest/cheesiest, pun intended, name for a breakfast joint. Touche on the restaurant name. We went during prime breakfast time (Sunday morning at 11) and the organization was anything but scrambled. We called ahead to inquire about the wait time and the host graciously added our names to the list to be served, so when we arrived we only waited about five minutes. The restaurant felt a little runny inside, with all of the staff attending to the quick food turn around, but well coordinated. The waitress was quiche, I mean quick, to pour a quality cup of coffee while simultaneously placing our order for a homemade lemon poppy seed muffin. This muffin was warm, straight out of the oven, goodness. I ordered the hot tamale fritatta and my wife ordered the corn beef hash. The dishes were so well prepared and looked eggstremely appetizing when they arrived. I poured tobasco sauce over my fritatta and was so eggcited to indulge. I quickly chugged my water and coffee, not so much of a hot food quencher, and proceeded to ask for multiple tastes of my wife's corn beef hash. At the end of the meal, I was comfortably full and in a semi-hibernation like state. Eggactly what I could ever hope for from a late Sunday morning breakfast. At the end of the meal I certainly left the restaurant feeling sunny side up.

We love this place. This is the second time we've been here and it was just as delicious as the first. I got the cheaspeake Benedict and my boyfriend got the breakfast burrito. The wait was about 10 mins but it was so worth it. The service is fast and friendly. The establishment is well kept. Everytime we are in Annapolis this is definitely our breakfast spot :)

Worth the 20 minutes wait. Awesome place. I absolutely recommend this joint! Great wait service. 2 thumbs up!

It was a surprisingly quaint location. My girlfriend and I stopped in for breakfast and were craving eggs, so we tried the Eggs Benedict; she had bruschetta and I had salmon. Both were fantastic, though not the best I've ever had. The service was quiet and nice, and I would definitely eat here again, but nothing about the place jumped out at me to say 'Wow this is incredible'. Definitely worth trying and enjoying, and I'll be coming back to try other things for sure!

I've eaten there twice. They are friendly and the place is nice and light and sunny. Both times my friend was very pleased with her breakfast. I got the Eggs Benedict the first time and my eggs were overcooked- the yolks were hard-boiled. They immediately re-did them and the second batch was fine. The second time I went I got the baked eggs. I have never had them before and the server said they came with a soft yolk- similar to a fried egg yolk. Nope. Hard-boiled again. It seems to be if your restaurant actually has the word "egg" in it, then you should be able to do your eggs really well, every time. They did serve a very nice bowl of fresh fruit with it, and English Muffin which was fine, and orange juice that would be better if it was fresh squeezed but it was orange juice.

Delicious food!! 20 min wait. Room inside to sit down. Quickly waited on once seated. Fresh carafe of water on table. (Nice touch). Drink order immediately placed. Food came quick quick quick. Hub had their tamale frittata. I Had the crab hash yummy! Daughter had the blueberry pancakes. We all were pleased with our meal. We will return!!!

Yelp reviews led us to this cute little place... We had a hearty breakfast... I had the much recommended crab hash with poached eggs... It was wonderful.. My husband had Eggs Benedict Florentine and he loved it! We also had a side portion of mushrooms stir fried... They were perfectly done too! Lovely little place... Friendly staff and quick service! Definitely worth visiting!

This place was pretty good. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and ordered the Eye Opener. It was tasty, but I wish my bacon and the breakfast potatoes were cooked a little more. Other than that, it was standard breakfast fare. Nothing spectacular, but solid nonetheless.

I am not from Naptown, so therefore Brunch isn't my thing typically. I like the normal restaurant to sit down and just have a good meal. I do not enjoy shelling out 20 dollars for Brunch, which seems to be the common thing around here. However, I took my Husband and Mother-In-Law here for a quick late breakfast. Let me tell you something, this place was WONDERFUL. The service was quick, and the food was even better. I felt like I was back down in VA where I am from. I truly do recommend this place, and will be here again for future meals. The Fritata was wonderful, but there Ice Tea was the only thing I didn't like as it had too much mint in it. Otherwise, it was great!

The breakfasts are delicious, hot and quick. The coffee is always really good. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The place is very, very clean. Sometimes you may have to wait a little, but it is worth it. We never had to wait more than 10 minutes.

I want to rate this a lot higher, I really do, there is just nothing too outstanding at Eggcellence that would receive a higher rating. Annapolis has a lot of breakfast options, and hell I would even add Whole Food's market to the list, as better place than Eggcellence. First off service was fast friendly and made everything very professional while still managing to be casual. Which I really enjoyed, so no issues there. The menu has a lot of great breakfast and brunch choices, which made it a little overwhelming to pick exactly what I wanted. AND THEN, I saw IT! The Marylander. Prefect! What is it? It's just an omelet, with crab meat, cheese, tomato, and avocado slides and placed on top of a 2 extra large egg omelet, paired with hash browns, and toast. OH YEAH! Well, oh no.... It was rather quickly prepared, which I was thankful for, as there was a good amount of people piling in. However, the taste wasn't there. I've had great crab omelets in the past, Glen Burnie's The Girll at Quarterfield does a excellent, or should I say Eggcellent ( yeah, totally went there) job with this dish, here failed to even impress. The size was large, so yes it's visually impressive, avocados might not have been in season, but they still looked good, had a strange texture, but they visually captivated me, good job, you disappointing super food. Too Cheesy, like the things I type, the meal was just that, too cheesy. I felt like it was the start of the dish, though it was the right cheese for the dish, I felt overwhelmed by the amount that was placed into the omelet. It is called the Marylander, not the Frenchmen. And therefore the lack of crab meat was disappointing. Or, if there was a lot of crab meat it went unnoticed, my palate detected nothing more than fromage. The hash browns were OK, somewhat under cooked, and some over cooked, I like that sort of unbalanced attitude at times, just not in my meal. What where they trying to be, hard, or soft, or maybe a little both?? I don't know, maybe I never will... On the table were jams, which were very good, I do recommend trying them. My lasting impression, isn't that favorable for return. I liked it, at least that's what I am trying to tell myself, It is likely a dish that could be fixed in the future, or maybe I just ordered the wrong thing... I don't know 3 stars.

This place is amazing. My boyfriend's mom's side of the family loves to go out to breakfast with the family here. The food is so darn delicious and the home fries are literally god sent. You can't go wrong getting food here. The service is also outstanding, all the servers are very attentive and care about their customers.

Yummm!! Really good food. I got a breakfast sampler with eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes and french toast...which was made with cinnamon bread :) very pretty place inside. We went at 1030 and had no wait.

So I told my friends that I ate with that Eggcellence was a 2-star restaurant...and they thought I was bogus 'cause their smoothies and omlettes were delicious. Welll lemme tell ya somethin NO ONE messes wit my Eggs Benedict. Especially after a long night. I've traveled far for some good@$$ soft muffins topped with a perfectly poached egg, all super-soaked in Hollandaise. Any brunch restaurant must have a good Benedict to get my seal of approval. Eggcellence fell kinda short. My muffins were too toasted and hard, egg was poached well (i don't know how to poach eggs, so they definitely get credit for that lol), but they jipped me on my salmon (it was too salty, too), and were they running out of hollandaise or WHAT? I signed up to get all 500 calories of that sauce, and I probably got about 250 (it's like 67 cals/tbsp). All-in-all, I felt like my teeth were fightin my food and had to down water to swallow it. Unfortunate. Their ratatouille was on the salty side, waitstaff was decent, I loved that it was very bright, and the decor gave me a good brunch feeling...but the magic didn't happen, unfortunately.

Fabulous service and yummy breakfast. My husband had the blintzes and I had a half waffle with bacon and a berry smoothie. Everything was tasty and came out very quickly and well made. The fruit was nice and ripe too. Great breakfast place in Annapolis.

I absolutely LOVE the staff! They are the friendliest people ever. The food - not so much. I'm not sure if we just ordered the wrong stuff, but we've had much better. If the food was as good as the service, I would probably try to figure out a way to eat every single meal here. Unfortunately, as much as I want to love the food, I really don't enjoy it.

We came here on a Sunday afternoon. The service was great and the food was excellent. I saw a sign on the wall saying they were voted best cup of coffee. The coffee wasn't anything special though.

If you love breakfast this is a must try. The muffins are to die for that are made fresh every morning. Each day has been a different delicious moist muffin. My favorite was the Lemon Poppy Seed, then Pecan Pie, carot cake...ummmm yummy!

It was eggcellent. The eggs Benedict were just right. The coffee was good just black. 5 people $62.

We were sat within five minuets and had good service. The food was okay, nothing special. I had pancakes with sausage and my girlfriend had the breakfast burrito. I certainly wouldn't wait to get in the door at this place but I would go back if I was just hungry for a modest breakfast.

Vannessa S.
Came her on a VERY busy Saturday morning with the husband and in-laws in tow. Everyone enjoyed their food, but the service was really poor. I get that you are busy, but 20 minutes before the server comes to the table? 10 more minutes before you bring our drinks? 10 minutes after that to take our order? Come on now. Our dining experience lasted over 2 hours, which is ridiculous for breakfast. We will return because the food was good, but propbably on a weekday.

Not the best brunch place, but then again perhaps I am spoiled from DC brunches. I came here with friends for a Saturday brunch and ordered generic brunch food. I ordered a frittata, which was okay, and nothing special. It was bland and the wasn't mixed well with the eggs. The meat in the frittata didn't taste all that fresh either. The potato on the side was also bland and tasteless. My friend ordered a crab meat omelette, which was the blandest omelette I've ever tasted. There was not a pinch of salt or Old Bay on the omelette, which made the omelette taste funky because of the crabmeat. I would avoid this place and just go to a better brunch place in Downtown Annapolis.

Excellent food, great atmosphere and friendly service. The homemade jams are not only good...they also make you feel at home.

Wednesday Morning breakfasts here. This is an "A-OK" place. With decent menu choices and good food. The dining area is not cramped, the folks eating are usually nice enough making for a good atmosphere. The staff is nice enough but very business minded which is great if that's what you want. I have never found a chatty waiter or waitress. They are just on the edge of being in a rush, of course some would call that fast service. No problems either way. Portion size is ok as well. This is definitely not a "shovel it in" or "boy I am stuffed" kind of place. I would recommend people give it a try for breakfast, see if it is your kind of place

My husband and I always bring our guests here for breakfast and it's always amazing food. I love the Eastern Shore omelet with pepper jack cheese. My husband likes the western omelet and the French toast. Every meal we've had is a nice size serving too.

When "egg" is in your name and what you pride yourself on, you should be able to cook them to perfection. Wife and I both got poached eggs, and both were more like hard boiled eggs....Crah hash was ok, potatoes and some crab meat, but nothing special in my opinion.
(2)

Pretty good food, great service, popular place with reasonable wait times unless you go on a Sunday afternoon.

It's so cute I just wanna pinch it! The little touches like a carafe of water for each table and the fresh preserves instead of your run of the mill jelly packet go a long way with me. Service has been attentive and the food comes out fast. So far, I've tried the american breakfast (two eggs, toast, potatoes, meat) and the french toast. What can I say, I like my country-themed entrees. The mango pineapple smoothie, although pricey, really hits the spot if you are looking to splurge.

After my last venture out for breakfast (last week) this was a welcome respite to my wallet! This place is somewhat off the beaten path--tucked away in a strip center building next to Staples and Best Buy. Tons of parking. Only open from 630am to 230pm so it is true to it's name! The food is great and the fresh baked muffins are awesome. The portions are plentiful and very tasty. My daughter had the "sampler" that included eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes, and a few slices of french toast (guess she was hungry) and I had the classic eggs benedict (a favorite and my barometer for breakfast). No complaints from my daughter. I thought the benedict could have used a wee bit more hollandaise sauce, but it was not enough of a bummer to interrupt the waitress. The service was very friendly and we were greeted by the manager (Will Payne) immediately when we walked in and he was constantly checking up on guests and their meal. The crowd was decidedly older--now granted, this was at 830am on a Saturday morning. The food came out fast and the plates were cleared right away. All in all, a good spot to go. If you are Christmas shopping--swing by before the mall and fill up. I will be back! Just as a comparison, last week's breakfast at Miss Shirley's was $100 including tip for 4. This week was $28 including tip for 2.

The Marylander - crab omelet - fresh has browns that are moist and tasty, toast just right with fresh fruit preserves on table. Well managed and service attentive. Other items we've tried - true quality as well. We go about once a month because best place for good food, attentive, relaxed and usually busy and not too much noise to carry on a conversation. Paul's may come close because they serve alcoholic beverages. Oh yea - cinnamon buns yummy

The two rugrats, Grumpy Grandpa, and me went here for breakfast today (thanks to Patrick H for the tip!). It's a small place with more staff than customers, at least at 8:30 AM on a Saturday. Note that this doesn't mean they didn't have customers - they just seemed to have about fifteen staff members on hand to keep the coffee filled, make sure we were doing OK, and generally being friendly and involved. So how was the food, you ask? The kids had chocolate chip pancakes that were great. I had the corned beef hash topped with poached eggs, which is home-cut and good but could use a little pizazz. Grandpa had the American Breakfast with sausage, which was pretty much perfect. The thing that stands out about Eggcellence is that everything seemed to be perfectly cooked. Every sausage, pancake, egg (even the poached ones!) was just right. They obviously take pride in this, and they should. It's a pretty good joint to take kids to - they are accommodating and have a decent kids' menu. They do need to move to crayons vs. colored pencils, though, or someone's going to lose an eye.

Eggcellence: A Breakfast Brunchery Restaurant opened quietly about 6 weeks ago next to Lemongrass Too off Housely Road and 450. So quietly in fact that I didn't even know they had opened until this week when a friend asked if we had been there yet. Breakfast dining is a favorite of mine. It's such a weekend indulgnence! We ran out first thing this morning, the first opportunity we had to give this new breakfast spot a try. The interior is light and cheery. Neutral colors with fresh Gerbera daisies on every table. It is fresh and clean and just what you would want from a breakfast/ brunch spot. They serve breakfast, brunch and lunch only. If you can't get there by 2:30PM you will be out of luck. With that said, there's much to get up early for. Classic American Brunch and Breakfast fare, all prepared with an eye to quality and homemade ingredients. Like the homemade jams and jellies, which are also available for purchase if you just didn't get enough with your breakfast. In our case we were given the mixed berry jam and the tropical fruit jam. Both were excellent (or "eggcellent" if you will!) and the perfect topper to the thick cut whole grain wheat toast. For Breakfast mains, I chose the ambiguously named Hot Tamale Frittata, which consisted of eggs, jalapenos, peppers, sausage, fresh corn in an open faced casserole and topped with pico de gallo. I loved the fresh ingredients and gentle spicy kick! The Dining partner in crime had the Marylander omelet, which consisted of crab, avocado, tomato and swiss cheese. A nice portion and both of our dishes came with home fried potatoes. The staff is definitely still learning, I ordered an espresso and our charming waitress replied, "Do we have that on the menu?" You can tell that everyone is excited about the place and trying very hard to make a good impression. Word is already out about Eggcellence. We arrived around 9AM and the restaurant was quickly filling up. By the time we left, they had opened another room which was also near capacity. This makes a great addition to the Annapolis dining scene and I can see them fast becoming a favorite for many years to come.

Came here really hungry for a good breakfast.....It didn't deliver. Place is very nice and appears to be very clean. Wait staff was friendly and helpful. I ordered the American Breakfast. Two eggs any style, home fries, bacon and toast. I always order my eggs over medium and they came out as ordered. Good so far. I took my first sip of coffee and i was like "what is the weird taste"? I couldn't drink it anymore. Not sure what the issue was. So I'm looking at my breakfast and it appears to be edible. What i cant understand though is why are they serving me this on plastic plates? I'm not picky, but i didn't go eat at a truckstop for a reason..... So as i said, the eggs were fine. The bacon was crispy as i ordered it. The home fries had almost no crunch and i am sure they were frozen from a bag. It was just a very uneventful breakfast all the way around! I did like the fact that they give you an entire carafe of water on your table. All in all, not anything i would run back for. For $14 for a standard breakfast, I at least want to enjoy all of it.

I have been at Eggcellence a number of times. I would come to believe a place called "Eggcellence" would specialize in making great eggs. Every time, I ask for my Eggs over medium with the yolk broke. And every time they come out burnt to a crisp yoke so so still runny, YUCK. I have to find a new place in Annapolis to waste my breakfast money.

This place is not too bad. Love everything about it. I dont like they close so early 2 in the afternoon. I would of gave it 5 stars but ive had issues with takeout here before two times. Both times they did not get it right and give us the wrong stuff (not the whole order just left out a sides.)

My last visit here was a bit disappointing. I wish I could give it 2.5 stars. The food was good, I enjoyed it, but the service was very lacking. The server was very dull and was slow to bring out requested items at times. She seem disconnected and sometimes she would bring something and just place it on the table without even saying a word. The food took quite a long time as well, about 30 minutes or so. There were 4 of us, but I don't think it should have taken 30 minutes for 4 breakfast meals. We always tip 20% or more when we go out unless the service is really lacking and this time it was so we didn't think twice about leaving only 15%....

I have been here multiple times and feel like the food quality is really getting worse. I ordered Cream Chipped Beef Gravy this time and upon first bite I realized it had a strong onion taste. I have never had or seen someone putting onions in chipped beef gravy before. It was horrible, I am all about fancy gourmet food but somethings should not be messed with. Did anyone even taste it?.... The service was so so we never got any refills on our coffee. Very disappointing...

Delish Marylander omelette and best breakfast potatoes and jams I've ever had! Amazing service! Definitely a new favorite!

Overall a good place and a great concept. But eggs on hash were overcooked. One the yolk was popped out from the egg and light yellow. To me this was enough to lose them the 5th star. What cook does not notice this and know the eggs are overcooked in a joint named after...eggs. Jon our server was great. Very casual but we had everything. Waffles, bacon, corned beef hash, toast and homemade jams were wonderful. The syrup tasted watered down. 8.00 for a waffle I would like some decent maple syrup. Not some vermont best, but a log cabin or sysco grade would be better than what they served. There was a kid of the other waitress running around being annoying, but its spring break and I don't have kids so my patience level has not developed yet for kids yelling "mommy, mommy" so I will not judge that in the rating. We will be back for sure, but we will order the eggs poached not boiled. For the pricing the place is definitely a weekly visit spot.

i went here for breakfast primarily because they have homemade corned beef hash and I loathe that canned stuff. The hash was very good, not great (I like a more onions in my hash. In fact I am not sure if there were any in theirs). The poached eggs on top, which apparently can be hit or miss here, were darn close to perfect. My wife had the house made granola with fruit, which she described as wonderful. The service was remarkably quick and attentive, even when the place got rather crowded during our meal. Definitely worth a return visit.

I had cinnamon roll and the crab hash and they both was wonderful. The waitess was very nice and I want to go back there.

Eggcellence is an a-ok place, but they incorporate one of my pet peeves which is when places put "ery" at the end of a noun and create a nonsensical word meaning "a place that serves the aforementioned noun". I.E. they consider themselves a "brunchery". Ugh. Just typing it annoys me. Anyway, they have a somewhat unique menu here and it's pretty cozy and welcoming. They have the usual breakfast items but also a few with a twist. I got the ratatouille and (I think poached?) egg. It sounded healthy and light and would contrast nicely with the gallon of ice cream I had eaten during my weekend in Annapolis. It came out and was scorchingly hot. When I ate the vegetables, they tasted rather bitter and unseasoned, but I liked that they weren't saturated in oil or cream or anything. The egg didn't really do much besides create a runny mess. I guess the saving grace is that I did leave not feeling disgusting and full, which was nice. And the price was reasonable. I'd likely come back if I were in the area to try one of their other dishes. I think what I ate was probably geared towards a healthier eater, and with that came lack of taste. So I guess I can't really come expecting light and getting decadence. But all in all this is a cozy and family friendly spot, and worth checking out. The one disappointment though was that despite being a self-proclaimed "brunchery", they didn't really have any brunch items. If I recall correctly, they have a breakfast menu and a lunch menu, but nothing in between.

This is my favourite breakfast place in the area. It's perfectly priced, incredibly delicious and the people that staff the place are very inviting and friendly. My stand by dish is the chesapeake benedict, (benedict+maryalnd style crab cakes) and at 12 bucks that's a hell of a value! Drink the smoothies, eat the omelettes, definitely eat some home fries, and they also have awesome coffee.

** 2 stars for today's visit ** It had been awhile since our last visit to Eggcellence, and I was looking forward to adding a 5th star to my review. As Jeff mentioned in his comments, there are now two changing tables (because, yes, dads can change diapers too!). And Nate, I am pleased to report that they offer the kiddos crayons now. I had raved about Eggcellence to a friend of mine, and while Chickadee was in school today, we met up with our little ones for a power breakfast. As soon as I sat down with Squeaker, though, I noticed an unwelcome guest on the wall right next to our table--a roach! I immediately informed the hostess who promptly smushed the fellow. We discussed leaving at that point, but decided to stay because: a) the kids were already settled in their highchairs and b) we've both worked in restaurants before so we know that sometimes these things happen. Still, it didn't set a great tone for the meal. Additionally, I am not sure if the hostess explained to the manager what happened, but he didn't come over to our table to apologize. Another note: I was in the mood for a "suburban mama $4 latte" and all prepared to plunk down the cash, but the restaurant does not offer any flavored syrups with its lattes. Boo. So I just drank the free water! I am sure that this insect issue was an isolated thing, but it'll be awhile before I return. My friend won't be in a hurry either.

I'm a big fan of the breakfast here, although I'd say it is pricey for breakfast in my opinion the food is delicious and the service has always been good. Homemade jam on the table and the crab omelet would be my favorite. Although I know it tends to be an "Annapolis issue" with the taste of the tap water, the water really does taste awful..and it unfortunately can be tasted even in the tea and well the carafe of water on the table especially. I vote for filtered water!

I've heard great reviews about this place and was very disappointed. I had the two eggs, rye toast, scrapple, and potatoes. They do get points for having a cup of butter on your plate instead of the toast, and the fruit preserves were good. But both my eggs and my mother's were under-cooked, before they took our plates I got a bite of my scrapple which was fine but my potatoes were abit on the cold side. On getting my plate back I found they had just over cooked the eggs that were on my plate and while my mother got new meat they just had my scrapple from before and suddenly the bottom was hard to cut, but the potatoes were hotter this time.

Good place for a morning brunch. Its quite a bit smaller than I was expecting, but pretty good, nonetheless. I had an omlette, which was good, but nothing out of this world. Its pretty hard to make a poor omlette, but its also hard to make one unique. The roasted potatoes were good too. Its a good place to go if you're looking for local, quality breakfast food, but don't expect anything extravagant or original. One plus, meals have quite a bit of food. A minor thing: why do they call their pancakes "griddlecakes"?

The food was good, but we had a fussy 2 year old in tow, so between my wife and I taking turns walking him outside, only our first bites were warm. I had the eggs benedict and my wife had the crab hash. My wife and I need to go back (after securing a babysitter).

I was searching for a place to take friends for breakfast on Sunday....Open Table had nothing but overpriced tourist traps and other sites weren't all that helpful. Finally googling "brunch + Annapolis" got me Eggcellence Breakfast Brunchery - and how lucky I am to have found it! Fresh, well prepared, pretty food for a good price in very pleasant surroundings with helpful and eager staff. Pinch me! I'm not from the immediate area so it seemed hard to find, but I'm sure the locals will locate this new spot soon and by then it will be packed. We sat at a sunny table in the small front room. Our four ordered: the Marylander omelet (with crab and avocado), blueberry pancakes (that smelled sweet and warm across the table!), and two American Breakfasts with perfectly cooked eggs to order, home fries, toast, and a side of meat. Everyone was thrilled with their selections and there wasn't a bite left over. The menu on their website is accurate and the map is also helpful. The coffee was fresh and good. I also liked that they left a carafe of water on the table. We got there Sunday at 10 and got a table right away, but by the time we left it was getting crowded. Highly recommended! Open for breakfast and lunch only until 2:30 daily, so don't show up wanting breakfast for dinner, or you'll be disappointed!

Interesting little breakfast & lunch place tucked snuggly into a strip mall. I had the Trio of Crepes. The hazulnut one was alot to handle but the blueberry was my absolute favorite. I will definately be back since the service is great.

After almost 5 years of living in Annapolis I decided to try this place out. I live close to all the really good breakfast spots like Grump's and Main Ingredient, which is why it has taken me awhile to venture to a new place for breakfast. I keep hearing that this place always has a wait, so I was surprised that on a Sunday morning we were seated within 5 minutes! Very good start. Good, relatively quick service, but the food was just ok. I got the Eye Opener, which was a fried egg with sausage and cheese sandwich on a toasted kaiser roll with home fries, and my husband got the Corned Beef Hash. He said it was the worst he has ever had. The hash should be cooked on a flat top making the dish very crispy. Instead, they boiled the potatoes and mixed in regular deli meat into it. Bland and no flavor! He showed me how much water was at the bottom of his dish. My meal was nothing to rave about. Glad I tried it out. It's a cute place, but I think we will stick to our regular breakfast spots!

We have breakfast there frequently. I believe it has the best breakfast in. The Annapolis area. In fact it won a poll as best breakfast in the area conducted by a major local publication last year. Always perfect? No, but then who is.

By far one of my favorite lunch destinations - only have had carry out to date - perfectly cooked omelettes and from what I hear from my co-workers the best BLT in Annapolis.

After reading the review from Patrick H., I was excited to try Eggcellence. I have to say that I was a little disappointed with my experience. My husband ordered the eggs benedict and thought it was very good. The potatoes were a definate hit. I ordered the trio of blintzes which usually comes with lemon raspberry, blueberry and chocolate hazelnut. It is accompanied by a fruit cup. I was looking forward to my meal and almost laughed out loud when it arrived. I was expecting blintzes to be the size of most crepes, about 6-8 inches long. What I got was 3 tiny blintzes that averaged about 3 inches long each and a small cup of fruit. All three together were about the size of crepes in other restaurants. They were tasty, but for $9 I expect to feel satisfied by my entree. Thank goodness my husband was willing to share his potatoes or I would have been very hungry when I left. I do like having a carafe of water at the table, and the coffee was very good. We had no wait and the service was excellent. I would give it a second chance, but I would order something a little more substantial.

What a cute place, family friendly too. Went on a Saturday morning and the kitchen was fast, we were out & fed within an hour. I got the Chef's favorite Frittata with egg whites and it was so delicious. DH got the Classic Eggs Benedict and they were made to his order. When we both asked for the potatoes cooked to order, extra crispy they made them extra crispy. I will go back again. There lunch menu looks pretty comprehensive with 12 sandwiches, soups and of course salads.Open 7 days a week.

An okay place to stop if you need a quick basic breakfast. Stopped here for an affordable meal instead of the overpriced hotel breakfast. Food was fine, service was good and food came quickly.

The food options are interesting--we've enjoyed the baked egg&veggie thingies which are, more or less, an omelet served casserole-style. I find the decor to be underwhelmingly unicolor--tan to be specific. My inner decorator--unqualified though she may be--longs to splash the place with some bright color accents.

First visit. The restaurant was clean and the staff was friendly. The decor is a bit drab for me, but no points off for that. I was seated immediately. We ordered a Chesapeake Eggs Benedict and a Baked Eggs Florentine. Long story short, the eggs benedict was great: perfect amount of old bay, generous amount of crabs and skillfully poached eggs. The florentine was not memorable. The english muffins and two jams on the table were better. I would go back for the eggs benedict. Cafe Normandies' version is a little better, but you pay for it and it's less convenient to get to (and the service is sloooow).

Stopped by for brunch and was rather disappointed with my visit - there were too many things that couldn't be chalked up as flukes/one-offs. Between the two of us we had an order of crab hash and an omelet. The crab hash was basically two poached eggs with hollandaise sauce over a hash of lump crab and potatoes. Let's start with the positives: - The place is brightly lit and clean (even the men's room and the bits of the kitchen visible on the way to the bathrooms). - It almost has a spa-like vibe. In fact, I'm very sure I've seen the wall decorations and the front desk at a spa before. - Excellent wait staff. The food is where the let downs were: - If you insist on making bad puns with "egg," you should at least do the poached eggs properly. My poached eggs bordered on being disastrous. The feathered edges weren't trimmed, and the whites were rubbery on the edges. Also, one of the two poached eggs on my plate was half-cooked (about half of it was fully cooked and not runny at all). The over-done poached eggs is probably not a fluke, since the woman one table over had a poached egg that had a fully cooked yolk and one that's done properly. - The poached eggs weren't seasoned at all. I'm guessing they didn't salt the poaching liquid. - The hollandaise sauce was, to put it bluntly, bad. First-attempt by a culinary student bad. It was over-salted, and it had actually developed a skin on top! A skin that had cracked! (Think pudding skin that broke because you jostled the cup a little). And there was too little of it. - The breakfast potatoes looked wonderful, but despite all the browning they got, there was no single crispy bit. I'm not exaggerating here: the lack of crunchiness/crispiness was so lacking that it may as well have been boiled potatoes. They desperately needed some salt and pepper. - The crab portion of the crab/potato hash was also disappointing. When I think of anything-hash, I always imagine that the ingredients were tossed in a hot skillet. If I had to guess, I'd say that my crab/potato hash were dumped together in the bowl and nuked. Oh, it lacked seasoning too. - The Swiss cheese on the omelet was just plain weird. Imagine making an omelet and plating it, then putting postage-sized deli-sliced cheese on it like you would stick stamps on envelopes. The omelet also lacked seasoning. - The home-made jams were a big let down. Horribly runny and ultimately one-dimensional in flavour. In fact it was mostly sugar with a hint of strawberry/blueberry. The only saving grace is that there's so much berries compared to liquid that they were still decent on toast. Overall the service gets 4.5 stars, and the food 1 star. I really wanted to like the place, but I doubt if I'll stop by the restaurant again.

just got home from Eggcellence and all i can say is avoid this place. as a party of four our wait was 20 mins not to bad at all considering the size of Eggcellence. we were seated right around 1010 am. our served whose name I dont know because she never intruduced herself (back female) came over and took our drink order. 3 coffees and 1 milk and water for all. coffee came our right away with the water which had something floating in it. the waters were replaced and cream for the coffee was supposed to come out with it and the ordered milk. well the water came out but no cream or milk. my sister in law had to track down the server to get the milk after 25 mins. at this point numerous other tables had been seated and served their food and finsihed before the milk was delivered. our server told us the computer was down, but from my seat i could see her plugging things into the computer. so i dont believe the excuse. at 1055 am a western omlete and crapes came out. 5 mins later my wifes tamale came out and 3 mins later my pancakes were finally placed on the table. a quick taste of the pancakes and i realized they were not cooked all the way through. so after almost an hour seated the food wasnt done all the way. approximately two more tables seated after us finished up and left. finally found the server and informer her of the pancake issue. she took them back and had another plate made. a quick taste test of them and these were not cooked all the way through either. the server came by with more coffee which had been empty for 15 mins or so and asked how the new pancakes were to which i told her they werent cook either and had her take them away. my wife decided to in form me that the eggs in her tamale were under cooked to and my brothers western omelette was under cooked as well. the server didnt charge us for the milk or the pancakes and continued to blame the broker computer for the issues that no one else was having. serves was terrible and the food was just as bad. i am normally a 20% plus tipper but today i deemed 5 cents was what was deserved. the porduct would have received less than that. i will never return to this place and will tell all of my firends to avoid.

(3)Luis S.
All they serve is Brunch and they serve it very well. The pricing is average for Annapolis. Its a gem that many locals frequent and for a good reason the menu is filled with many great dishes. The omlettes are amazing and the fruit smoothies are a must have every time you go!
(4)Art M.
Wow what a great place. Was in Annapolis for a lacrosse tournament and found this place on Yelp, it is tucked away in a strip mall so your GPS may not find it. This place is well worth the trip. Get the Crabs Benedict, excellent crab meat and seasoning, also the breakfast burrito is great they will also give you a coffee to go
(5)Mary G.
We love coming here for a breakfast date. Whether it is baked eggs florentine or a great selection of omelettes. All is well prepared and delicious.
(5)Vishal V.
Excellent service and the coffee was strong and flavorful. The food was somewhat bland, but decent. I would go again.
(4)Lissah D.
Loved the crab hash: Fresh, good quality eggs and crab. Nice brunch with lots of fresh options.
(5)David W.
(5)Ketch K.
Very well crafted I highly recommend - often to do something very simple says more about a place - Do yourself a favor start your day here
(4)Paul L.
Best place in Annapolis for Breakfast! They are fast, and will make anything you want!
(5)Ken M.
(4)Bob S.
Any place that offers scrapple as an option merits 5 stars in my book. The Chesapeake Benedict is delicious too. I come here after church whenever I visit annapolis.
(5)Catherine B.
Excellent food, even greater service. Definitely recommend. (Sweet potato pancakes and breakfast burrito were VERY good)
(5)Jenny C.
(3)Steve O.
(3)Ivana H.

(4)Kal B.
(4)Eric J.
Must try their lobster grits
(3)Kathy A.
(5)Dawn R.
(4)Susan A.
Great food. Great atmosphere. The best homemade muffins you will find, made everyday by Mr. Will. Portions are a good size and the prices are reasonable. Our go to for the weekend.
(5)FoodChick F.
(4)Greer S.
The breakfast was okay. Nothing to write home about. I remember thinking, I should've made breakfast at home. The service okay as well.
(3)A L.

(5)Pamala J.

Great service. The baked egg dish I had was awesome though not great for my food allergies. Great for groups though.
(4)Karina M.

(5)Arlene F.
Worth the 20 minutes wait. Awesome place. I absolutely recommend this joint! Great wait service. 2 thumbs up!
(5)Cody T.
(4)Jill S.
(3)Lori C.
(5)S P.
(4)Jessica O.
We were visiting from out of town and this place was was very welcoming, provided excellent service and a great breakfast place with a large menu variety. We were very pleased with our orders and would experienced very professional staff.
(5)Beth H.
This place was pretty good. I came here on a Sunday afternoon and ordered the Eye Opener. It was tasty, but I wish my bacon and the breakfast potatoes were cooked a little more. Other than that, it was standard breakfast fare. Nothing spectacular, but solid nonetheless.
(3)Kathryn L.
(5)Danae M.
The breakfasts are delicious, hot and quick. The coffee is always really good. The staff is very helpful and friendly. The place is very, very clean. Sometimes you may have to wait a little, but it is worth it. We never had to wait more than 10 minutes.
(5)Joe K.
(3)Frank D.
First time here. Food was very good and service was friendly and quick. I had the Chesapeake Benedict.
(4)Madeleine L.
This place is amazing. My boyfriend's mom's side of the family loves to go out to breakfast with the family here. The food is so darn delicious and the home fries are literally god sent. You can't go wrong getting food here. The service is also outstanding, all the servers are very attentive and care about their customers.
(5)Stacy M.
Seriously the worst coffee in Annapolis!
(1)Veronica G.
Yummm!! Really good food. I got a breakfast sampler with eggs, bacon, sausage, potatoes and french toast...which was made with cinnamon bread :) very pretty place inside. We went at 1030 and had no wait.
(5)Jenny T.
(2)Natalie L.
Fabulous service and yummy breakfast. My husband had the blintzes and I had a half waffle with bacon and a berry smoothie. Everything was tasty and came out very quickly and well made. The fruit was nice and ripe too. Great breakfast place in Annapolis.
(5)C. W.
(1)David S.
We came here on a Sunday afternoon. The service was great and the food was excellent. I saw a sign on the wall saying they were voted best cup of coffee. The coffee wasn't anything special though.
(4)Troy S.
If you love breakfast this is a must try. The muffins are to die for that are made fresh every morning. Each day has been a different delicious moist muffin. My favorite was the Lemon Poppy Seed, then Pecan Pie, carot cake...ummmm yummy!
(5)Javi G.
It was eggcellent. The eggs Benedict were just right. The coffee was good just black. 5 people $62.
(5)Karson L.
We were sat within five minuets and had good service. The food was okay, nothing special. I had pancakes with sausage and my girlfriend had the breakfast burrito. I certainly wouldn't wait to get in the door at this place but I would go back if I was just hungry for a modest breakfast.
(3)Vannessa S.
(3)Erin P.
Love this place! We go at least once a month and it's the best breakfast place around. Great food, great service, clean and we're always seated within 15 minutes!
(5)Nicole W.
I had the Marylander which is crab omelette with avacado, mummy. Excellent healthy breakfast or lunch spot for business or family gathering. Cost affordable, & service with a smile & sense of humor.
(5)Edward N.
Great place to eat. Food doesn't take long. Wait staff are great. Best eggs and potatoes There not greasy as other places. Eggellence is definitely excellent!
(5)Sheng Z.
(2)Alexandra O.
Excellent food, great atmosphere and friendly service. The homemade jams are not only good...they also make you feel at home.
(5)Bay L.
(3)Shannon B.
My husband and I always bring our guests here for breakfast and it's always amazing food. I love the Eastern Shore omelet with pepper jack cheese. My husband likes the western omelet and the French toast. Every meal we've had is a nice size serving too.
(5)John G.
When "egg" is in your name and what you pride yourself on, you should be able to cook them to perfection. Wife and I both got poached eggs, and both were more like hard boiled eggs....Crah hash was ok, potatoes and some crab meat, but nothing special in my opinion.
(2)D S.
Pretty good food, great service, popular place with reasonable wait times unless you go on a Sunday afternoon.
(3)Laura G.

(4)Richard W.
(4)Nathan C.
(4)Alan B.
Portions appear small but deceiving. The coffee was fair . I would try it again if in the Re.

(4)Jason C.
We were traveling through and stopped by for breakfast. Ridiculously friendly staff, great food, and fast service. Everything you could want in a breakfast place. If we lived in town we would be here often
(5)Dave P.
(2)David S.
(1)D. E.
This place is not too bad. Love everything about it. I dont like they close so early 2 in the afternoon. I would of gave it 5 stars but ive had issues with takeout here before two times. Both times they did not get it right and give us the wrong stuff (not the whole order just left out a sides.)
(4)Kecia G.
Awesome food! Great staff! This is definitely going to be a Sunday ritual!! And the food comes out FAST :-) love breakfast!
(5)Amanda W.
(2)Cara M.
(2)Leah S.
Delish Marylander omelette and best breakfast potatoes and jams I've ever had! Amazing service! Definitely a new favorite!
(5)S C.
(4)Michael C.
i went here for breakfast primarily because they have homemade corned beef hash and I loathe that canned stuff.
(3)K C.
I had cinnamon roll and the crab hash and they both was wonderful. The waitess was very nice and I want to go back there.
(5)Jeff W.
(3)Chelsea Y.
(4)Misty D.
(2)Tessa R.
(4)Bobbie G.
(2)Mike M.
(3)Tod F.

(5)Mike B.
Great food and great service at a good price. Will return.
(4)Jamie H.
Interesting little breakfast & lunch place tucked snuggly into a strip mall. I had the Trio of Crepes. The hazulnut one was alot to handle but the blueberry was my absolute favorite. I will definately be back since the service is great.
(4)Tom E.
Try the Crab Hash! Great service, great food!
