Dock Street Bar & Grill Menu

Recently visited Annapolis for the first time and really wanted crab cakes. The ones at this restaurant were AWESOME!! And, the side of curly fries was great, too. I'm not a fan of mayo and the crab cakes weren't held together with tons of it...actually not sure what the binder was b/c the cake was full of crab -- so good! The waitresses were not attentive at all so prepare to wait for awhile but it's worth it and the price was decent. :)

Best crab cakes anywhere. That's all that needs to be said for the food. Ate at the bar, and the service was great. Also had a selection of beers on tap. I have eaten here four times, and it never fails to serve a great meal at a great price.

i wasn't all that impressed. There alcoholic drinks weren't that great, i could of made them and I'm no expert and there food was alright, i had the quesidillas and they were okay but flavorless. Not the best experience

Soooo I am pretty sure I ate everything that said "crab" on the menu and I am sadly not even ashamed to admit it :) My fiancé and I split the clam chowder, crab dip, and crab cakes - all of which were phenomenal but that crab dip, whew was it good! If you're in Annapolis, be sure to check it out and again, I repeat...get the crab dip :)

Like the place and people. I'll go back!

I apparently need to try the crab cakes, but fiance and I much enjoyed our crab chowder (with a fair amount of crab) and the mahi-mahi and shrimp tacos. The shrimp were a special and outshown the mahi-mahi due to the seasoning on the shrimp and the chipotle sauce rather than tartar sauce on the fish tacos. Both had generous amounts of meat and cabbage to compliment. The fish tacos came with curly fries while the shrimp came with salad so we got to indulge in the fries thanks to the balance of the greens!

Restaurant? I don't think so. Dive bar is more like it. Who would take the chance to eat in a place like this. If there was a host, we couldn't find him.... The restaurant was really well hidden behind drunks, couldn't find s dining room, and a smell that few adults have been in tune with for years,,, we grabbed our grand daughter and exited asap. Cool bar if you were looking for drinking buddies...

A favorite of mine. No beers on tap but they have a wide selection of bottles. Food is good service is good and it feels like a neighborhood bar in dta. 5 stars.

They have the best damn crab cakes in all of Annapolis. This place is amazing! We ordered the crab cake dinner with mashed potatoes and greens. Everything was solid with no bland flavors or anything. Service was decent. Food was decent. My recommendation is to sit on the second level by the window to get a good view of outside and people watch. That alone, will give you a good conversation starter.

My husband and I went here for lunch. I ordered a meal but a few minutes later wanted to change my order. The blonde bartender/waitress refused to change my order and said it was too late. I've never been to an establishment that doesn't allow the customer to change his/her order. I left and went to another restaurant. I won't be back given the poor service.

Ordered fish tacos, then changed my mind to order crab cakes 5 minutes later. The waitress wouldn't switch my order, maybe trying to keep from losing a profit, so I left. Now they have the loss on the fish tacos and no sale on the crab cake entree. Awesome business decision making.

Happy Hour for the win! $3 drafts $5 apps $1 oysters Highly recommend the crap and artichoke dip! Also had the mussels and oysters, both great! Perfect spot for a chill happy hour

The real star was the crab chowder and our servers. The crab chowder was the best I have ever eaten. Our servers were so nice. I really felt they made the extra effort to make us feel welcome.

I really hate to give this place two stars since it seemed like such a nice place and everyone loves it! However, my experience was different. So I am not a local, and I am coming from the West coast. My friend yelped this place because we wanted to go near the dock and enjoy our meal. The service here was horrible. The waitress is nice, but she's forgetful, service is lacking. It seems like you just sit yourself and we were a little lost on what to do once we arrived. No one attended to us. However, later during that night, when we walked inside to use the restroom, they wanted to card us. We were eating outside. She forgot my check. She asked me what I ordered. Our food took awhile. My food came out cold. They didn't give me a dining set (napkin, knife, fork) when my other friends got it. Overall, I wasn't impressed. It seems like a chill place, but since the service was lacking, and the food was amazing, I don't intend on returning.

Friendly service. Amazing crab chowder and crab cakes. Came in with my 1.5 year old for lunch and they propped him on a baby seat right next to bar. Could also go to the table seating upstairs but enjoyed the ambiance at the sports bar.

As we got to Annapolis, all I could think about was crab cake. Oh how I missed the east coast. We walked around a bit and decided to check this place out. There were a few people drinking beer, and a few tables in there were full. We sat outside, watching the beautiful sunset, had a beer before it got a bit chilly. We ordered crab cake dinner. Single crab cake dinner to be exact. I was surprised how delicious the crab cake dinner was. The plate has potatoes, spinach and a fat juicy delicious crab cake. Let me tell you about the spinach. I know, crab cake was extremely succulent. But the spinach just blew my mind. It was by far the best sauteed spinach I've ever had. And the mashed potato has very creamy texture that I absolutely loved. Sure it was not cheap. But it was worth every penny.

  • Dana Z.

They have probably the best cream of crab soup I've ever had. And I SHOULD have gotten the crab cakes. The dude sitting next to me at the bar got them and they looked sooooo gooooood!!!! I got the tuna and spinach salad instead. It took freaking forever for them to bring out two salads. Also I have a major issue. The bathroom was beyond nasty. It was one of the few times when I actually walked in a restaurant restroom and went "uh, maybe I don't need to go that bad" ....Even hovering..... Seriously, no freaking excuse for that!!!

Nice atmosphere, very good old rock music, awesome staff. I did not enjoy the crab cake sandwich (hence the 3 stars) but this has nothing to do with the restaurant - I just realized I don't like crab cakes in general. I would definitely go back to try something else on the lunch/dinner menu or just for a beer.

Location: Wonderful! You can see the boats (& some water) from the window, and it is on a great little street with some other shops and restaurants. Very quaint! Also only a short walk to the Navy campus. Food: Also great. Crab cakes were raved about by all who had them at our table! You can get them on a sandwich, on a salad, or in a place called "crab cake dinner" which includes sides. The crab cakes had no other filler - they were just solid crab, which was wonderful. The crab cakes are definitely the highlight of the menu, but I also had the 3-onion soup which was very good, and we had the burger which was A-OK. We also had the crab dip to start, which was tasty and very crab-y. Crab cakes were $16, which is a good deal for the amount of crab you get. Ambiance: Well, this place is actually a dive bar (and is a restaurant by day). You can tell -- drafty windows, folding tables. The outside is cute and the inside is ... a dive bar. But, great food nonetheless so I'm giving 4 stars.

  • Nicole L.

Confession: I totally judged this place when I walked in. Looks like a crappy bar- how can they possibly serve good food? WRONG. The crab cakes were the best my husband and I have ever had. Shrimp tacos were also amazing. They're keeping it simple and killing it.

So good. The crab cake was delicious and the curly fries tasty. The servers were also really friendly.

Hand down to the best place to get crabcake in DTA! The lump crabmeat is soooo fresh that it taste just like eating maryland fresh crabs. The location of this bar is a plus, it right by the water! Whats better then great food and nice view! Everyone should come check them out!

  • Mel P.

I was visiting Annapolis last week and Dock Street Bar & Grill served up the coldest beer, the BEST crab cake ever and had the best crab chowder in the world. I can't say enough good stuff about this place. The staff was top notch too. I will definitely be back!!!

    (5)
  • SH K.

Meh... maybe my own fault, but the reviews made it sound like the place serves fresh seafood, but it's more of an Irish pub which has some lunch options. Don't get me wrong - the food's decent, but I was hoping for nice fresh Maryland seafood.

I was on a mission to have as much crab dip before I left town and this place did not disappoint! I ordered crab chowder and crab dip - both were lovely and delish! Definitely one of the best crab dips I had in town that weekend...and I tried a lot! The restaurant was really small so we sat at the bar...which was fine - really attentive. It's misleading when you first walk into the restaurant since it looks more like a bar, but the food is really good here!

Went to Dock Street with a couple of friends for my roommate's birthday. While the place was small, the DJ extremely loud (having to yell to the person standing right next to you so they can hear you), and the wait for the restroom was over 10 minutes, we still had a good time. It was when I asked the bartender for my tab was when things got sketchy. He handed me a tab, that was not mine, that cost $22. Since I only ordered one drink, I told him that this was the wrong check, he then gave me my correct check of $5, and I left a two dollar tip (looking back on it now, I shouldn't have been even THAT gracious). A few days later, I checked my online banking statement only to find I had been charged THREE times. One charge was for $27, the other for $8.75, and my correct charged amount of $7. I understand that accidents do happen, we are all humans after all. But to be charged three times?! Ridiculous. I called Dock Street, the woman I talked to was friendly and apologized, but basically told me to call my bank so they can deal with it. What a disappointment, as I enjoy going to DTA, but this one is now off my list of places to go on a night out.

Tuna appetizer was Great. Crab cake sandwich was very good. Large portion. Not greasy. Service was ok not very friendly.

Easiest 5-star review ever! Everything about this place was spot-on. (Okay, yes, it would be nice to have more than a single one-person restroom, but I'm not reviewing the facilities). The crab chowder was delicious, the shrimp tacos were delicious (and surprisingly spicy), and the crab cakes were quite simply the BEST CRAB CAKES I have ever tasted (served on a layer of delicious tartar sauce that pairs perfectly with the crab cake. The salad was beautiful, fresh, and tasty. I didn't taste the chicken pizza because my nephew had finished it by the time I thought to ask for a bite, but I'm assuming he enjoyed it.

I was in town for business and was looking for a quick casual bite. Went with the prior recommendations on yelp and had the crab cakes. Certainly better then any crab cakes in the Midwest. Great casual atmosphere and bartender Pete was great!

Best. Crabcake. Ever. I also really liked the Nattybotini; everyone should let their hair down and try one at least once...

45 minutes into the dance and We never even got a beer or got to try their food. Saturday night and ONE server is not going to cut it. Server was doing her best but GET her some staff people. She sat us outside first and we requested to come in because of the drunk crazy folks next to us. Server happily obliged. Upon coming in we waited 20 mins for her to clear a table, was moved to the table and then forgotten. Granted bar people filled in all around the table and started using our table to put their drinks down, we hardly could be seen! 20 mins later we left.

  • M D.

It is probably a bit unusual that I would rate (what essentially looks like) a dive bar, but this one is worth the review. It is also a bit odd to give a dive bar five stars, but they earned them. Sat outside at rickety table, sweltering in the sun. Nearlly forgot all about it when the drinks came. Definitely forgot about it when lunch arrived. Only had the crab sliders and the crabcakes. Outstanding. So rich, so full of huge bites of crab... mashed potatoes were excellent as well. It's not cheap, but it is worth it. Go for just one crab cake and then also order the slider, chowder, etc so you can sample other items. The two cake entree is $33 and a lot of food - so much that you'll be hard pressed to eat any other item. They even poured a pitcher of water into a bowl for our dogs hiding under the table. Don't miss.

Drove down to Annapolis from Baltimore on a random whim to get some good eats for lunch. Wanted to eat near the water and stumbled upon Dock Street. When we saw that it had an average of 4 stars on Yelp, it was a shoe in. For apps, we got the seared tuna that looked good on a nearby table. Came with about 8 or so slices of tuna that were well seared and heavily encrusted with sesame seeds. The wasabilicious drizzle on top was a tasty touch, and out of the two accompanying sauces, the peanut-looking one provided a nice kick. This was a tasty app but not mind-blowing. For entrees, we split the fish tacos and the crabcake. The tacos were good with lime crema and in particular, we appreciated how they came with generous slices of avocado. The cabbage provided some nice crunch but overall, the tacos coulda been better seasoned and/or spicier. The crabcake, which we ordered based on prior Yelp reviews raving about it, was def. a good choice. It was a pretty big portion and also nice and thick. Filled with REAL CRAB meat and not much filler/batter. It was perfectly cooked and melted right in my mouth. The cake's on top of this tartar sauce that was just right and not too mayo-y. Lastly, the light dusting of old bay was a nice break from the usual overseasoning that you can see sometimes w/ old bay. Service was kinda slow at the end tho--we had to walk back inside to get our check.

Delicious blackened Mahi Mahi tacos and shrimp tacos too. Fast service for a Friday night. Sat outside. Beautiful evening.

Excellent food, laid-back atmosphere. Crab chowder and crabcake were amazing. The food is better than you would expect based on the environment, has a bar vibe. We enjoyed it and will be back next time.

Best crab cake I've ever had. Worth coming here just for that. Also, decent service and lots of screens if you want to catch the game.

Awesome food... and not just for a bar! Crab cake is literally the best in Annapolis. tuna appetizer, BBQ chicken pizza, and crab dip are a few of my other favorites. Another review mentioned the staff... I have always had great interactions with everyone who works here! They also have good pricing for happy hour, and their crab cakes are on special every Tuesday!

I was down in MD visiting a friend and his budding family, so we took a day trip over to Annapolis to do some shopping and walking. After wandering through the Naval Academy, we were growing hungry, and based on reviewing some quick yelp reviews - we choose this spot. The food overall was very good, especially based on the bar atmosphere inside. I was kinda expecting some bar junk, but overall quality of everything was good. The kid got the chicken tenders, where as the adults picked up some entrees. My buddy got the seafood/crab chowder which was unreal delicious. I ordered the crab cake sandwich and was generally pleased with how large the crab cake was, and actually included a hefty amount of crab. We also ordered the crab dip which was also fantastic, large chunks of crab meat littered on the top - very good. Only reasons for the 3 start is that I thought it was somewhat pricey in terms of everything. Our bill added up quite quickly, so walking about with a $100+ tab just didn't seen right/fair. Also, we came on a Sunday lunch, which it quickly got busy, so the service was fairly slow. It took them maybe 30 mins to get our entrees - which was kind of annoying. Come here for a surprisingly GOOD crab cake and a beer. I'd check it out again if I'm in the area for sure.

I wasn't that impressed and wish we had picked another restaurant for lunch. No draft beer. Crab cake sandwich was solid but shouldn't decent crab cakes be somewhat easy to find around here? In terms of the decor and looks of the place, it is more like a dive bar. The upstairs has folding chairs for seating. The french fries are just lame frozen fries like you would get in a school cafeteria.

    (2)
  • Lana S.

I love this place. Amazing classic rock music selection. You can see all the boats from your seat. Amazing foods include onion soup, chowder with huge amazing chunks, ahhh.

Wings were a good size, server was extremely nice and the beer was flowing! Small space but great for a beer as your walking around.

  • Beth C.

This was the best meal (sorry Mike's). We had the crab cake sandwich with fries and the corn crab chowder. I mean the best ever!!! We were very surprised having never had this type of chowder before. When I think of *corn* in a soup I always think of pudding. Nothing like pudding! We wanted to experience other restaurants while we were in the area so that's the only reason we did not go back.

  • Hilary G.

I was told to go to Dock St. if I wanted to try the best crabcakes in Annapolis. The restaurant did not disappoint as they are the best crabcakes I have had in a restaurant. There was so much lump crab and the tartar sauce was tasty. The curly fries were a nice change as well. The crab dip stood out too and was extra creamy, but there wasn't enough old bay spices. The pita points went well and it was a great app to share among several people. The restaurant has a lot of charm with the stone walls but it is tiny and there is only one unisex bathroom. The biggest downside was the lack of any draft beer but the crabcake made us happy enough to overlook the beer selection.

I had one goal when I took a trip to Annapolis with my girlfriend that weekend: eat fresh quality seafood. Well 2 goals... that, and spend quality time with my girlfriend in historic Annapolis. It was Sunday and the Ravens were playing on TV in this dark, divey bar/restaurant just off the wharf area in recently flooded Annapolis. I was skeptical of ordering anything from here at all, rather just getting a local brew and watching a pretty good game. Alas, my stomach won again and out of pure starvation and desperation I ordered an appetizer; lump crab cake. I thought I had made a horrible mistake, but when that cake came topped with even more fresh pieces of actual crab, I was sold. I ate it so fast that the waiter thought he never brought me my dish to begin with... I should have played along, but that's wrong. I then went on to order one of my favorite seafood dishes, crab chowder. You can basically put anything into a chowder and it should taste half-way decent. This was no exception. Probably one of the best crab chowders I ever had, and I was already full from this monstrous crab cake I just ate by myself. I finished the entire chowder just as quickly and felt my heart slow down a little. Thinking to myself, if I just keel over and die now, I won't be too sad, at least I had some really good seafood. Thankfully I was just digesting, took a nice 3 mile walk after and felt good knowing that ultimately, I chose....wisely. Anyways... get the crab chowder if nothing else.

First, awful awful service. Went in to not even get a full meal, but just to get some crab soup. Only a couple open seats, but it certainly wasn't crazy. Took a little while to order, but nothing alarming at first. Decided to get a beer while waiting - that got to us. Then 30 minutes go by, no soup. Ask about it, they say it's coming shortly. Another 15 minutes go by, and nothing. Tell the bartender to get us the check, see one last time if it's ready, but if not, just cancel it. She cancels it, barely an apology, charged us full price for the beers we only got because we were waiting for the soup that never came after being there for close to an hour. Also, pretty dingy. Basically just a dive bar without much character, with terrible service.

There are times when I find such a great place that it makes me regret good reviews that I've written in the past because in hindsight, the other places didn't hold a candle. Dock St Bar & Grill makes me want to be so stingy... We called a head to see if we could reserve a table but they don't take reservations... however, the guy asked how many we had and what time - we had 6 and a high chair... when we stopped in, he had already set up a table upstairs and we were ready to go. It was the perfect example of there are rules people and then there are just common sense people. It wasn't crowded so why not set up for a large group? And with kids in tow, it made SUCH a difference. Tommy knows how to take care of his customers. We had the entire upstairs and he never forgot about us, our drinks were always full and he made fantastic recommendations. There were only rave reviews of our feast. Crab chowder, 3 sauce buffalo wings and the crab cakes were particular stand-outs. My bloody Mary was awesome... complete with olives - just like I like'em. It was a rainy Sunday brunch but it sure seemed sunny inside of Dock's. We'll be back for sure...

Crab cake heaven!!!! Best I've ever had. This place was recommended by a local waiter while we were eating at another restaurant. It's been over a year and I still daydream about their crab cake! None has measured up to them. We also received drinks recommendations to pair with our food. Will gladly drive back to MD just to eat here!

Enjoying some gorgeous fall weather in Annapolis recently (it had been at least 20 yrs or so since my last visit) and what a surreal flood of memories I experienced. It was crazy to recognize so many little details from the past and forget so many others. But one of the things I needed was a serious refresher on the crab cakes! Dock Street was one of our first stops and being a Maryland native, obviously I knew ahead of time I was getting a crab cake. Dock St didnt disappoint. WOW what a thing of beauty! Living in NYC for awhile now, there are countless places that try to imitate "Maryland Style" crab cakes. And I have tried several of them. But I can tell you with certainty that its not even close. REAL Maryland crab cakes cannot be reproduced elsewhere. Most places outside of MD use shredded crab meat, probably from a can and sometimes artificial (!), with a ton of mayo and bread crumbs. Its more like a burger than a crab cake. That is NOT how its done in MD. The entire cake was made of huge chunks of delicious crab meat. I didnt even want to eat it because it was so ridiculous lol. But fear not, I thoroughly annihilated it shortly thereafter. As for the rest of our items? She really enjoyed her seared tuna salad, and the side of curly fries were tasty as well. All items were cooked perfectly. The beer and wine selection is on the small side and they were out of Stella at the time. Blue Moon was a nice replacement. The place is on the smaller side but has a great location right near the docks (duh). There are also a lot of TVs which were used heavily for games on the day we were there. Nonetheless, I was there for the crab cake and Id go back to Dock St without hesitation.

Love this bar, always have a blast! It's kind of small inside and doesn't have a dancing atmosphere but the bartenders are super friendly and the atmosphere is very "locals bar" which I love! Good place for a Friday night!

This is a hole in the wall spot.. It seems to have fun people. The crab chowder was good, but the wings get a No!

  • Chris G.

The cream of crab soup was pretty dang good, I'll give that to Dock Street. The tuna sandwich, though, was not so good. It was a good cut of fish, and I realize that I ordered it medium-rare, but it didn't have an ounce of heat in it when I got it. Unless it's sushi, eating cold fish just isn't all that appealing. There was no seasoning or flavoring to the sandwich, either, aside from the odd wasabi paste that they drizzled on the top. The whole entree just struck me as a very lazy dish.

It was a Saturday night, summer time, and the feeling was right. Until we felt like we'd entered a horrible blind date, where you listen to him/her lament over their exes, and anxiously await your bailout phone call. I digress....We'd just had a very tasty dinner at Sakura, and wanted to grab drinks somewhere close. So we headed to Dock Street. I had fond memories of this place from a year ago, but now I know those memories were blurred into greatness by the many birthday shots I'd inherited. We paid a $5 cover. Now, I know that's cheap, but hey, $5 is a drink! Especially when inside, the place was deader than Adam Sandler's career. They were playing 90s alt rock; not the good stuff, either. Asked the ditsy bartender what was on tap. Answer: Nothing, only bottled. Awesome. And what kind of IPAs do they have? Only 1! So we all order our drinks. Then we find the well hidden staircase to the 2nd floor. We get up there and find a REAL happening scene. 2 sloppy drunk girls at the bar, a DJ, and bartender. Now this really tops it all off: the "crazy" mix being spun by the DJ, was none other than....PANDORA!!! WTF?? Did I just pay $5 to buy an overpriced IPA and listen to a Pandora station in an empty room with strobe lights? Pretty sure I could've done that at home in my basement, only I'd avoid 'spinning' "Call Me Maybe."

First time visitor to Annapolis. Tried the crab cakes at Cantlers, Dock Street's are significantly better.

  • Bob C.

Cold beer in an icy glass, best crab cakes ever, friendly service, reasonable price, in a period building, what else can we ask? Jeremiah, the bartender, came over to our table to serve us because the wait staff was busy. Some may consider the service slow but we took it as enjoyable and dining leisurely. Would go back anytime. Wish we are not 2 hours away.

Cool little bar but NO beers on tap. So it's bottle city...boo hiss! Crab dip is good and fries are standard curly fries.

Great food, reasonable prices and a good selection of unique beers. As a recent food network fanatic, I can appreciate good food and this place definitely has it! The menu here is fantastic. You can get your typical 'grab a quick bite and a beer' food such as burgers, wings, and chicken fingers. Unlike many other bars in Downtown Annapolis, however, the menu offers higher quality choices, at great prices. From a grilled tuna steak sandwich to a Chicken Pesto pizza with bacon, this place has it all. I'd suggest going in on a Tuesday night for $10 crab cakes and specialty burgers. I you like a sauce with kick, try the signature "triple sauce wings". You won't regret it! Staff is SUPER friendly too!!

  • Hillarie D.

You must try the crab cakes. Also, if you're interested a non-conventional 3-onion soup, try that too. Such yumminess.

Dock street is a hidden gem in terms of their food. I have been going to dock street frequently for the past 5 years and have yet to be disappointed. Unlike their neighbors Armadillo's Dock Street is very meticulous about the type of people they let into their bar, but that is just more so for the evenings. With respect to their food, it is definitely unique in the sense that you would not expect to find well-thought out food in a small bar & grill. Their wings definitely compete with anybody else's in Annapolis. You should definitely try their in-house "Triple Sauce" which is amazing!!! Their burgers are cooked amazing and their Chicken pesto sandwich is phenomenal as well. I would recommend people to go on Tuesday's when they have their $10 Crab Cakes, which are worth more than $10! Great place, they get five stars because i obviously like the place if I've been going for five years now.

I do not work at or for Dock St., I am just a really big fan. This place is my Cheers. I was shocked to see they didn't have a Yelp page. Since they are always so good to me and my friends, I thought I'd create one for them... Here's some helpful info: Open 11:30am - 2am, 7 days a week Kitchen open until 1:00AM Daily Happy Hour - Mon - Fri, 3pm - 7pm DJ Dirty Panda - Fri, Sat, Sun This bar has a great back story. These two guys worked as bartenders in Annapolis together for several years at the hottest bar in downtown. There, they were able to learn what makes a great bar and also what could make a great bar, better. So many times they thought, "If I owned this place, I would do this different..." So, they got together and bought a place of their own; and did it their way. All the things that they would have done different at the other bar, they have done here. Beautiful, I know. The American Dream. This place hands down, has some of the best bar food EVER. They probably take a hit on their food costs just for the quality, but that was something important to them. The steamed spiced shrimp are what dreams are made of. Their crap dip is piled high with jumbo lump. The crab cake has like no filler and is classic Maryland in your mouth. I don't eat burgers often, but Dock's burgers could change that. I'm not sure what kind of beef they use but it tastes like sirloin with the perfect meat to fat ratio. The 'dillas are also really good! The owners bartend on the weekends, which gives it a real homey feel. The staff is super friendly and most of them have been staples in the Naptown bar scene for some time. If you are new to the town and want to make friends, head in to Dock. If you have lived here forever and haven't been to Dock, you have some serious life questions to ask yourself. If you are big into music, you will appreciate DJ Dirty Panda. He has done gigs all over the world and this summer, will be headlining some of the hottest clubs in Vegas and LA! He plays to the crowd, but if you are a house fan, make sure to let him know and he will gladly melt your face off.

Awesome music and crowds! Not sure about the big butt dancing on the bar. It was hard not to stare. But there were several other girls dancing on the bar and everyone had a great time. Wish they had opened up the second floor bar for St Patty's day..it gets crowded downstairs! This place has a good vibe and my girlfriends and I didn't run into any creepy I just want to hook up with you guys, just fun down to earth people.

I was impressed with this restaurant when we got lightning fast service at 2 pm on a Tuesday. However, when the service was just as good at 5:30pm on the 4th of July, I was astounded. I had the seared tuna salad the first time, which was delectable, and the second visit I had the crab cake sandwich with curly fries. I've had lots of crab cakes, and this one was memorable. I enjoyed the dark hardwood inside the bar, and you can also sit outside if you're so inclined. Good beer menu, and the chocolate cake was good as well.

GREAT crab cake. Bad service :( More a bar than a restaurant. Go here for a fun dance club late night.

We've been in this place three times and, each time, have had a really friendly experience with the staff. It's a small place with a few good beers and a small menu of bar food. The food is okay to nibble on but I've never had a full plate. Me and my husband have had the Buffalo wings - a recommendation only if you're feeling brave and ready to gulpdown blue cheese dressing! The first time, we were given some information about the area, as it was our first night in town. The second and thrd, we asked to watch some sports and they obliged, turning down the music and turning up the television. I believe this place is family-run and I can mostly say good things about it. My one niggle.....due to it being so small, there is only one toilet. I think this could be made into two - I'm not a huge fan of stepping in pee all over the floor....but I guess it's to be expected as the evening goes on. Oh, I'm not sure there's a happy hour here.......

Picked this place because of the yelp rating. Ordered the crab dip which was cream cheese, old bay and a few pieces of crab on top. The crab cake sandwich, while loaded with crab, lacked seasoning. The worst part was the bill. Half price happy hour cocktails don't apply to premium alcohol (no mention of that on their site, but im ok with that) but they charge an extra $5 to add olive juice to a glass of grey goose. Then the credit card receipt comes and it's different (higher) than the bill... In two words I felt 'ripped off'. I won't return and wouldn't recommend this place.

Dockstreet is one of my favorite downtown Annapolis (DTA!) bars. I used to go here every Friday night and do my share of drinking. On weekend nights there is usually a $5 cover charge. The downstairs area is kinda narrow, but they move the tables and stuff at night to make more room. The stereo overhead plays bar classics like Don't Stop Believing and a lot of radio rap. You'll dance, and possibly sing along, badly. Up the stairs to your right on the way in is a smaller bar, a dance floor, a little back room area and more bathrooms (yay!). Try your luck up here if downstairs is crazy. The drinks are good, normal prices, and the bartenders and bouncers are really cool. They work hard, because weekend nights this place is hoppin. They're pretty tolerant of how retarded people can get. I've had a ton of fun every time I've been here. If only the walls could talk! Stumble to the pizza place across the street before you leave DTA, you won't regret it!

My crab cake sandwich was good and I loved the curly fries. However, several people ordered burgers well-done and they got it overcooked. The top of the meat was totally black with a burnt bad taste. When we told the waitress about it, she said that well-done burgers are supposed to be like that. No they aren't, it just shouldn't have any pink in it -- eating burnt meat is quite harmful actually. They should've at least acknowledged the mistake and apologized. Therefore, two stars.

Love! Dirty Panda was on point. Music was good and they don't skimp on the drinks. You get an actual drink and not just watered down juice. We had a great time!

The best crab cake cesar salad that I've ever had. My companion totally agreed. It made up for the incredibly slow service, even though there were only a few patrons. The outdoor seating gives you a bit of a view of the dock area. Prices were reasonable, wait staff very amiable. Can't wait to go back!

I found Dock Street while searching for a location for a large party on a Saturday night. All the places that I found required either a very early or a very late dinner. Dock Street has an upstairs room that becomes a bar at 9 so we had to leave by then. It was PERFECT. I spoke to the owner Kyle who listened to our needs and told us what he could do and then did what he said he would do. We showed up and the room was set up as we requested. We had a few extra stragglers and an additional table appeared. Theresa took excellent care of us and allowed us to have multiple checks which most places are reluctant to do. Then there was the food, it was surprisingly wonderful. When Kyle told me it was pub food and they had great crab cakes i figured he was just saying that. Well, he was completely dead on except that the menu was much more extensive then he let on. My daughter had a seared tuna salad that i never would have expected in a pub. She ate every last bite. The homemade soups were fresh and flavorful. Most of the tables had either crab cakes or hamburgers. Every person said their meal was delicious. Because it is a bar there was an extensive beer and wine selection. When it came time to get our bills, they were all handled accurately and efficiently. Could not have been a better experience.

Stopped in here while visiting Annapolis for a weekend with a friend. The place is a typical bar - nothing special, but we loved the customer service! Two blonde girls serving and working the bar were delightful! They made an honest effort to get to know us, and made us feel welcome in the new city! Decent beer selection, I went for one of the craft beers available (a peach beer, I believe). Menu selection was bar food - although apparently the crab cakes are the way to go, we did not try them. Waitress explained that most items were made in house, such as the breaded chicken fingers. I went with the turkey reuben and was satisfied. Curly fries on the side - cannot complain with that. Came early on a Saturday for lunch, bar slowly filled up as we ate. Probably pretty normal for tourist season. Would be busy at night. Right near the Marina, you can sit on the sidewalk / "patio" if you want! Looks like the upstairs has dancing and louder music too, would hold a decent amount of people. Cute bar for Annapolis! cannot complain :)

I stopped by here yesterday with my wife and her parents for lunch. As the name of the restaurant implies, it is dockside on the Annapolis waterfront. On the day that we stopped here it had a couple of tables set up outside and more on the inside. There was also a large bar on one side of the restaurant and a number of flat screen TVs with the different TVs alternating between a Nationals game and Wimbledon. For my lunch entree I was having a hard time deciding between the blackened shrimp tacos and the beer battered fish and chips with a remoulade. Whenever my wife decided to order the tacos, that made up my mind to order the fish and chips. Our food ended up coming out within a reasonable amount of time and my wife allowed me to take a bite out of one of her tacos. Wow was it good as the blackened shrimp had a nice spice and good flavor to it while an avocado provided some creaminess and the slaws dressing brought the acidity. After that bite I was looking forward to trying my own fish which unfortunately fell rather flat. It's not that it was bad as the outside was crispy, the inside hot and moist and there was a good ratio of breading to fish. It's just that my wives meal was that much better in my opinion. I will admit that I did really enjoy the remoulade that came with my fish and I dipped both my fish and fries into it. The bottom line for me is that I might head back here again in the future. My fish and chips was a-ok although I wish I would have ordered the shrimp tacos.

I went here twice in 2 days on a 3 day vacation in Annapolis. I don't typically do that but I had a reason. Their crab cake is that very compelling reason! IT'S THAT GOOD!!! And Tuesday its $3 off & the crab cake sandwich is $4 off - Score! It's literally only the freshest giant lumps of crab and delightful spices and the most minuscule, undetectable amount of binder possible that holds it all together. And it's perfect! I couldn't imagine only having this crab cake nirvana just 1 time, so back we went! They typically serve it with their own homemade tartar sauce, which we skipped on day one. Personally I prefer them with just a dip into some hot sauce occasionally & just let the crab cake speak for itself. I forgot to say skip the tartar on round 2 and was a little sorry. It's better than typical tartar sauce, I'll give them that but I still prefer them plain & ended up pushing the tartar off to the side. No draft beers here but a decent selection of bottles. Round 2 I had wine, their white selection is better than the red offerings. This bar is really small & I could see it getting packed & loud. One small unisex bathroom is all they had room for. Overall a fun little bar - they may have other really good food here. Honestly, I don't care because I'm only getting their crab cakes!!!

This is one of those places that is the best of both worlds. A very lively and popular bar. And also a place with great food. I've been twice. I need to step outside of my box, but I can't. Both times I've had the crab dip and crab-cake sandwich. Both are amazing. Great crab flavor with no filling. Highly recommend as an easy sit down, no frills, bar/restaurant.

I have to admit that my first reaction upon entering here wasn't the greatest. It's small, not particularly enticing, has the feel of a real dive bar, and is decidedly local. I'm OK with all that actually. It was the fact that they had no draft beer (BUMMER) - only bottles - and the fact that the people next to me at the bar were pounding Hoegaarden bottles with lemon wedges like there was no tomorrow. That disturbed me. I mean, I'm not a fan and if I need vitamin C I'm probably not going to choose the lemon in a Hoegaarden option. But they were enjoying themselves so I guess I'm ok with it. But appearances aside, I opted for a bottled beer and a giant crab cake. And let me just say that this crab cake was the BEST thing I ate in 4 days in Annapolis. And that counts having crab of some form at every meal (including breakfast). So that says something!! It was so good I came back a second day for a repeat. This was a thing of beauty. Not only was it huge and golden brown, it had almost ZERO filler in it. It was giant lumps of fresh crab. Amazing. Don't know how they held it together. I tore into it and savored every bite. Probably the best crab cake I've ever eaten. Bold statement I know. But I honestly can't think of any that I've had that were any better even at twice the price. If they only had draft beer I'd raise this to a 5 star rating. But even if you only order water and a crab cake you're gonna love it!

Best food and service by Gina here, every time. She always take excellent care of us and we look forward to seeing her when we visit. The atmosphere is casual and relaxed. Tvs, the bar, dimmed and kind of quiet when is not game season. We love the crab chowder, full of clams and crab. The crab cakes are excellent, lots of crab and very fresh. We always order the Old Bay wings and they are awesome, crispy and that old bay all over...to die for! Everything that we have ordered has been great. Service is excellent, by the water, Gina and staff. We love it all!!

5 Food 3 Service 3 Ambiance 3 Cleanliness Wasn't exactly expecting the food to be as good as it was in this little dive bar. I was lured in by the sign that said "Special of the Day: Cod Fish Sandwich". The serving size for the sandwich and fries was huge!! I brought most of the fries back to the hotel for the honey bear, which went perfect with the Crab Cakes (appetizer). I usually try to avoid fried foods, but I wanted quick and convenient. Even though most of the grub was fried, it was surprisingly fresh. I often associate fried with being frozen prior, but there was something different about this meal; it didn't taste frozen! It tasted fresh caught (or closer to recently caught) and the fries tasted delicious (same deal). Yum! On the flip side, the waitress was disappointing. Every time I needed the waitress, I would look at her and even speak up that I needed something and she would continue to walk around doing other tasks other than waiting on me. Strange. Ugh, you're a server/bartender first, side tasks second (not the other way around, girlfriend)! Ambiance is nothing fancy. Several framed jerseys along the walls along with some flat screen televisions and a small bar top with a touch screen game on the end. The carpet was questionable (along with the restroom), but there were no overwhelming stinchey smells any where. The question I would usually ask... Would I return?! Maybe for takeout. If I still drank booze, maybe to sit down as well... Not sure ;) Cheers!

Came for lunch had to have crab cakes while in Maryland. Service was quick and friendly. We had crab cake sandwich , crab bisque, fish tacos, cheeseburger and steamed shrimp. The crab cake sandwich was actually good-without remoulade-lots of crab lettuce, tomato and soft bun. All together this worked. The bisque was okay we had some at the Westin the night before and that was better. This bisque tasted like the inside of French bread, which I found interesting. Okay a amount of crab too. My guest said the burger was good 3.5 and the tacos as well. The steamed shrimp was good but be prepared to peel and de-vain. You get to dip in butter, cocktail or old bay seasoning. They were good. This was a fair place to eat. Probably wouldn't go back. Also the night before they had a $5 cover charge, so we left too many options without cover.

If you want a friendly place to grab a drink and a casual bite then head to dock street! If you are looking for a nice sit down dinner you might want to skip this place. We came here looking to grab a quick bite while in the area. Yelp led us here and I'm glad it did! We sat at the bar and received great service. The place had a fun atmosphere and we had a great time meeting new people and having a few drinks. We ended up getting some chicken strips and a grilled chicken sandwich to eat while we were there and both were pretty good. Now that I'm reading the other reviews, I wish I had tried the crab cakes!

Good choice for the neighborhood. Moderate price, big quantity, and pretty tasty. Not the best crab cake I had this weekend, but the two crab cake platter is big enough to handle any hunger. Really good service on a busy Friday night.

At first we were nervous because of what the small bar looked like but it was amazing. The crab chowder was the best soup I've ever had. The crab dip was good, but the bottom half is mostly cream cheese and the top half is almost all crab. The avocado BLT was goof as well, but I didn't need all the fries that it came with.

Crab cake was phenomenal. You get your moneys worth - mostly crab instead of cracker. I took away a star only because the place kinda smelled odd upon arrival. And the bathroom felt like a sauna Other than that, this is the place! We also had shrimp tacos and that was good too

We went and had the crabs. A few were mushy meaning they either weren't fresh or were overlooked. The waitress was very kind and without asking went to the chef and the entire team brought out more crabs. They wanted to make sure we were happy. We didn't asked for replacements and while not the best crabs ever tasted, didn't really warrant a new free batch. This in my opinion was amazing customer service lacking so many times in today's business world. Erin was the best. Very appreciated and would come back alone because of the pleasant way this situation was handled. Kudos to the staff.

I am new to the Annapolis seafood scene. But I must say that the fish and chips is very good. Fish is comparable to the batter fried fish we would buy from the fishing port in Ishikawa Japan. The crab cake is reasonably priced and not too salty. They have a house concocted sauce for the fish which is a tangy departure from the usual tartar sauce. It is pub fare but that is what I expected.

Excellent food, excellent people watching.... crab cake was the bomb! Crap soup also delightful as was the three onion soup. The peel and eat shrimp were large warm and hearty with melted butter, old bay sauce, and cocktail sauce. Very key location next to ice cream shop and other restaurants/bars. Highly recommend.

While moving into Annapolis this weekend my parents were dying to try some great crab cakes. After searching on yelp we decided Dock Street would be a great place to go. We got there at 9pm on a Saturday night and were turned away by the bouncers. I have never seen such rude customer service. They told us that they were converting over to a bar and would not be able to get food inside. My dad asked if we could look inside for a table and they said absolutely not. A customer outside said that they were leaving soon and we could take their seat, the bouncers once again said absolutely not and the server was leaving for the night. I do not know any restaurant that has a server leaving for the night at 9pm on a weekend. If they had kindly explained that they were no longer serving food it would have been a different story. These two bouncers were so harsh and abrasive. We will never return to Dock Street and went and spent our money elsewhere.

Three Grey Goose martinis and a $20 tip at Federal House = $56 Two beers and two orders of $9 chicken wings at Dock Street = $56 ....wait, what??!? $6 + $6 + $9 + $9 = $30...so why was the bill $56 without tip? Apparently, the snob of a bartender decided to overcharge for a crab dip that we never got or ordered. Hmmm, sure. I'll take that as an oversight on your part. BUT, check that attitude before you get pissy about making a mistake and having to correct it, Bud! You just solidified the reason why we stopped coming here in the first place. First, not all of your patrons are so drunk that they can't differentiate between $30 and $56. Second, that dry ice burn I had all over my chest/face via your over-zealous DJ who proceeds to revel in people's pain as they get sprayed by your broken dry ice machine on the dance floor... NOT COOL! My advise...get drunk and drunk food elsewhere. Yes, the food is good to pretty good. The drinks are okay. But I urge you to run...RUN - away from the rude employees.

Old School Down Annapolis at its best. I'm a sticker for Crab Cakes and I was in the mood to try something good after a horrible outing at the Natl Harbor. This place did the trick with a Crab Cake I would give a 5 out of 5 from a MD boy who lives Crab Cakes and Foorball. Cool place to watch O's game to

I walked around asking where to get the best crab cakes in the area. I was directed to Dock Street Bar & Grill, which was just down the street. It was Christmas Eve, and there I was with a baby in a bar. It was ugly. I was surprised by how many people were at the bar on a Christmas Eve. I didn't know if I should be happy for them or sad for them. They probably felt the same about me. So many people that it took forever for the dude to come over and take our order, and then another forever for him to fulfill that order. But it was okay, because it was bitterly cold outside, and it was Christmas Eve, so I was feeling merry. ***JUMBO LUMP CRAB CAKE - Served with Whole Grain Mustard Tartar Sauce Beautifully plated, looked too pretty to eat. A big mound of meaty crab cemented to the plate via tartar and dusted with Old Bay (a local legend). I believe this was a Restaurant- or Gourmet-style crab cake as opposed to a Boardwalk crab cake, that is to say there was not a lot of breading or filler. It did, however, have a scrumptious crunchy exterior, and a tremendously fresh crabby flavor. The tartar was standard, but nice. It's pretty embarrassing--I was born & raised in Maryland, but I don't know crap about crab.

Crab chowder is amazing, but don't go here if you actually want to be able to hear your date. A little more bar then restaurant. Crab dip is also way too much cream cheese and not enough crab. Crab cakes are good, but not great.

Went to Dock Street to have a beer and wings and gotta say that the service has improved since we were last on a pub crawl and ventured in. It had been a while so we had low expectations walking in and we were surprised by the service and the quality of food. It is hard to screw up a cold beer so that was fine and always has been. Where we were not so happy in the past was the food and the service. Being a sunny Saturday afternoon we thought we would be jammed but it was great and the bartender put the Golf Channel on so that we could watch the match. Sailing may be more appropriate but we are really sailors and they obliged us without fuss. The last time we were there the wings were not very good. This Saturday afternoon we saw an order go by and they looked completely different (and good) so we ordered some and they were very good. The bar staff was also friendly and we stayed for about an hour exchanging casual chat with the bartenders and watched golf. Pretty great way to spend a Saturday. We left and continued our crawl but we will be back more often now.

In town for work. Wanted to eat in a restaurant that wasn't a chain, right smack in the tourist area, but close. Dock Street fit the bill. Restaurant is located in a neighborhood, on the corner near the marina. I didn't think we'd find a spot to park, but no problem. I didn't realize until we were there that this restaurant was featured on Diners, Dives, and Drive-Inns - I'd say it fit the "dives" bill rather well. I enjoyed my pulled pork sandwich and my office mate devoured his crab cake and maryland soup. Definitely recommend.

This is a awesome bar down on dock street in Annapolis. They have a great bar selection. Their crab cake is so good. I would order it every time I would go. Horrendous & slow service, but amazing crab cakes. Then again, wouldn't you expect that kind of food on Dock St.? The bar scene was mostly full of blue collar and mouth breather-ish folks. The counters and tables were all worn. It was safe to say that this run-down dive really didn't look promising for a dining choice, but it did have a sign on the curb saying they had famous crab cakes. I ordered a sandwich & fries to go, and it took about 30min to get that sent out. Yikes, talk about slow food. And at $18 for this thing, I really hoped it was worth it. And yes, it was; they really weren't kidding. The crab cake and the fries were both made perfectly. Well-seasoned, but not too much. The crab meat was amazingly fresh. So I recommend this place in the end....though it's pricey, but whatever. And if the dive scene isn't your thing, just call ahead of time for takeout.

Yelp, I could kiss you on the mouth sometimes. We were in town on a failed attempt to redeem our LivingSocial vouchers at SegZone Tours (ugh, don't bother). When that was canceled on us at literally the last minute, we decided to make the most of our trip by stuffing our faces with some authentic Maryland crab cakes. A quick glance through Yelp led us to Dock Street Bar, and HALLELUJAH. I'd always been "meh" on crab cakes since the only ones I've eaten in Virginia were mostly filler, but these bad boys were the real deal: 6 ounces of pure lump crab meat, gorgeously seared on the outside and steamy on the inside. My boyfriend and I buried our faces in glorious crab meat and didn't come back up until the plates were sparkling clean. Also, get the crab chowder. Trust me on this one.

I'm reviewing this place based off of Saturday night club experience and NOT food. I've worked in bars/nightclubs for a long time and haven't met door staff as rude and overzealous as the guys who work here in a long time. Sorry guys, you aren't running the door in a suit at a fancy club in DC. Can drop attitude. Rarely do I give one star, but it's mostly reserved for places I don't want to go back to unless an apology is received.

I've been twice while visiting. Awesome selection of beers! Friendly fast service. Both times I got the crab chowder, creamy with huge chunks of crab meat. The crab cakes seem to have no filler. The potatoes are amazing! Huge fan of this pace it's an absolute reality of what I imagined a local maryland bar to be like but with better food and service. It was kind of warm inside and also the bathroom was kind of gross only reason for 4 stars.

Great, but small locals bar with good food. We started with the Old Bay chicken wings...they were VERY salty and the Old Bay really was over the top for what were perfectly cooked wings. A little Old Bay goes a long way! The crab chowder was excellent! I would order a bowl of that any day! The crab cakes were good with lots of crab and very fresh tasting, served with garlic mashed potatoes and spinach (YUM!!). Decent wine list for bar & grill!

Excellent food, laid-back atmosphere. Crab chowder and crabcake were amazing. The food is better than you would expect based on the environment, has a bar vibe. We enjoyed it and will be back next time.

Hand down to the best place to get crabcake in DTA! The lump crabmeat is soooo fresh that it taste just like eating maryland fresh crabs. The location of this bar is a plus, it right by the water! Whats better then great food and nice view! Everyone should come check them out!

I was visiting Annapolis last week and Dock Street Bar & Grill served up the coldest beer, the BEST crab cake ever and had the best crab chowder in the world. I can't say enough good stuff about this place. The staff was top notch too. I will definitely be back!!!

  • SH K.

Meh... maybe my own fault, but the reviews made it sound like the place serves fresh seafood, but it's more of an Irish pub which has some lunch options.

The wings were awesome and the crab cakes were excellent! Service was great! Sat upstairs to get away from the "bar" type feel as we had our 1 year old with us. They were very accommodating and we really enjoyed our time there.

This is a awesome bar down on dock street in Annapolis. They have a great bar selection. Their crab cake is so good. I would order it every time I would go. Also they have nice couple of tables out side. There are only two so you are lucky if you get one but they are really nice to have a beer or several at

Excellent food, laid-back atmosphere. Crab chowder and crabcake were amazing. The food is better than you would expect based on the environment, has a bar vibe. We enjoyed it and will be back next time.

  • Dolores S.

  • Ferhan T.

Confession: I totally judged this place when I walked in. Looks like a crappy bar- how can they possibly serve good food? WRONG. The crab cakes were the best my husband and I have ever had. Shrimp tacos were also amazing. They're keeping it simple and killing it.

I went there yesterday for the first time with my friend from NJ and we the bartender/waiter was very nic he recommended a beer to us and we loved it. I had the shrimp tacos which were amazing! Their fries are awesome as well!! I DEF RECCOMEND THIS PLACE!

Wanted some good crab cakes and after reading the reviews, settled here. Didn't disappoint. Excellent consistency with the cakes. Great service too (Rachel is friendly), makes you feel like you are at home at your local joint talking with your best friend.

The BEST crabcakes I have ever had; super fresh and not deep fried like I often find. The crab chowder was amazing with huge chunks of fresh crab on the top. They also have a huge selection of beer and the service is quick and friendly.

The second time here. The first was awesome and I am sure the second time will be just as awesome! The wings rock! Gina was taking care of us again today and she is very entertaining and what can I say made the experience a second time a winner. Thank you Gina you made our lunch once again.

Best crab cakes anywhere. That's all that needs to be said for the food. Ate at the bar, and the service was great. Also had a selection of beers on tap. I have eaten here four times, and it never fails to serve a great meal at a great price.

  • Erin R.

  • Delmonik C.

  • E K.

  • M B.

  • Lana S.

I love this place. Amazing classic rock music selection. You can see all the boats from your seat. Amazing foods include onion soup, chowder with huge amazing chunks, ahhh.
