Acme Bar & Grill Menu

Sorry, We are updating this restaurant menu details.

I haven't been down to Annapolis in a few years, so when we had some time to walk around yesterday we did a little browsing in some stores and stopped for a bite to eat in Acme. We just had burgers and fries, but they were nice and fresh and hot. The burgers were seasoned well, and the next time I'm in the area I'd like to try some other items on the menu.

The best service! The bartender was very personable. When my husband and I approached the bar, he immediately introduced himself. Food and beer selection were good. Bar was lively. I will always stop at ACME for the chowder, beer and good service when visiting Annapolis.

Horrible experience! We were a group of 11 people who knew what we wanted before we sat down. Erica our waitress was a few ants short of a picnic. I told her three times that everyone received their meal except for me and reminded her of my order. Finally after everyone finished their meal, my burger comes out WRONG! She took it off the bill but she was the worst waitress I ever encountered. Gave two tiny water flukes for 11 people. Asked for extra napkins, mayonnaise, and drinks which never came! We drove hours to get there. The bathroom was more than two flights up an alluminum stairway, there was a fight between a drunk kid an a firefighter. Loud music, and cursing. This place along with the hired help was the absolute worst- never again!

So I have been here on 5 occasions and every experience was somewhat different but mostly the same. They usually have minimal staff available, its always too loud to hear yourself think, the service is terrible, the drinks arent very great and the food is mediocre. There was this one time, though, that my husband and I went on a Saturday at about 12 and we were sat in the outside seating. The service was pretty good and the food (they specialize in unique egg roll creations) was pretty on point. We got a couple of orange crushes and they were pretty good although not the best we've had. Honestly if you are looking for a kind of divey place downtown on the weekends this is it. But if you are looking for a nice dinner and atmosphere, try Level or Factors Row.

Love this dive. As gin mills go, this one slings some great gin - and beer, and shots - and also serves up some good soak-up-the-booze food. I particularly love the wedge salad, and the hot crab dip. The egg rolls are a great take on Mex-Asian fusion, too. The night before a Navy football game, this place is an always-go for me. Perfect.

As my first real bar experience, it wasn't bad. Out celebrating my birthday with friends. Got a couple shots and a moxed drink. Bartender was great especially since I didn't know what I wanted...just sucked qhen the "younger" crowd came in...the music got ear peircing loud (and I like my music loud but that was ridiculous) great experience though.

Love love love this bar! During the day they have a wise variety on their menu-something for everyone to enjoy. I recommend their buffalo chicken strips and their cheesesteak egg rolls! They are amazing. Best buffalo chicken strips I've had in a long time!! On the weekends at night--love coming here with my ladies! Bartenders are the best in Annapolis, hands down. Servers are great here-very personable! Good drinks and decently priced. Come to acme for some awesome appetizers during the day time and come back at night for a good time!

This might be the best crab soup (Maryland vegetable soup) in the whole of Maryland. Large chunks of crab in the soup. Their crab cake is good, very good, in fact but the soup is the clear winner. I was there on Thursday night, the place was packed for some sports event, yet the waitress was prompt and, better yet, happy.

I've been here once before for the Yelp Makers Bar Crawl. So we decided to come back again after the Polar Bear Plunge. My wife enjoyed the wings and I decided on a cheeseburger with the crab dip . Wow that was the best cheeseburger I ever had. Me and my wife both enjoyed there crab chowder soup. I forgot that this establishment was more of a sports bar. Our waitress was doing her best to serve tables and serve customers at the bar. Overall me and my wife enjoyed our meal and would definitely visit this establishment again.

If you're over 30 I would avoid this place. The crowd is young (Some a little too young if you ask me) and loud. The food is average but priced like it's Annapolis' best. It wasn't a horrible experience but we spent $55 buck for dinner for two and were ignored by the staff in favor of what I am guessing are their "regulars."

    (2)
  • Sara D.

Great service, awesome wings, good drinks at a great price! You can't beat it!!! We will definitely return to the place...plus it it kid friendly

Female bartenders go the extra mile to be catty to other females. I mean...I got it girls, you gotta dress extra risqué and be fully engaged with the carefree / usually drunken opposite sex to get your tips, but no need to give the stink eye and weak drinks to female customers. This is not the 1850s; we make our own money too...and despite the fact that my husband is the one handing you the card for our drinks, did you ever look at whose name is actually on the debit card? Sexist much? On another note, the male bartenders are on point. They're personable and will go the extra mile to make recommendations, if you can't make up your mind. They serve Red Bob with their Grey Goose, which is kind of a knock-off Red Bull :-( Nonetheless, we'll probably come back...but definitely not our first choice. If you want better drinks and the best bartenders in town, hit up Federal House!

Its a great location right on Main Street and during nice weather, its very nice to sit outside and people watch. We stopped in for a few drinks and the bartender seemingly kept forgetting about us and charging us different amounts for the same drinks. She also kept throwing all of our drink orders on one bill instead of separately as asked. Some of the chairs outside are very rusty and ruined several shirts by leaving rust stains all over them.

    (2)
  • Kevin P.

Decent drinks and beer. I always enjoy the buffalo strips as an appetizer. Clientele is mixed with all types of people (some local and some tourist). Foods always decent, but sometimes there always seems to be a wait for drinks with only one bartender.

    (4)
  • P O.

The owner had promised to make things right by sending me a gift card for mistakes the bartender made. Still waiting for that gift card to arrive?? LOL ( i was there in March)

I went on a night where it was slammed. The place was packed. Security was nowhere to be found. We witnessed two fights and almost got into another when some very drunk person came to our table and was being ignorant. There was beer and garbage all over the place. We grabbed one drink and left as soon as we could. It was horrible.

  • Louisa E.

Very loud and insane on weekends but good bar food and service during weeknights. They have cheese whiz and tater tots:) not really anything other than salad and fries for vegetarians.

    (3)
  • Amanda M.

The wings were really good! I recommend the spicy BBQ! Great happy hour specials too! If it's busy the waitresses are not the best. If they come over order a beer - you never know when you will see them again!!

    (3)
  • Anna E.

Don't advertise for brunch or really for anything if you can't get the order right. It took forever to bring the menu out. I asked the waitress for orange juice and ginger ale (like a mocktail because I'm pregnant), I got it with champagne. My omelet was completely wrong. They never brought water out. The place was just gross for brunch. Definitely a disappointment.

Hands down BEST happy hour in town! For just $12 I got 3 draft beers and 10 wings!! Weekdays are chill and seems to be the hot spot hang out for the locals as well as weekend happy hours. After 10pm I friday and Saturdays it does get very very busy & a DJ plays great music, if your into "the scene" it's defiantly the place to be. Looking for a brunch spot? The food is amazing and brunch is every day & sun 9am-1pm with buy one get one FREE Bloody Mary's, Mimosas & 007's. I would say it's hands down the best place to watch sports downtown 14 interchangeable large flat screens and they play the sound for the major sporting events! Check it out!!! GREAT food & LARGE selection of flavored vodkas with $4 shots/$5 drinks of Jack Daniels, Tuaca, Soco, Herradura & Finlandia all day every day!!!

    (5)
  • Jon D.

I would consider ourselves regulars here. Happy hour wings are a great deal and very well prepared. Attentive staff with quick service. $2 happy hour basic domestic drafts. And the inside scoop is pitchers at non-happy hour times are the same price/beer as happy hour pints. My two reservations about Acme are they serve draft miller light, coors light AND bud light but no regular version of the big 3. Serve budweiser! And the music is off of ipods which is fine but the volume can vary wildly.

Crab cake sandwich was fantastic! I'd come back any day to eat it; highly recommended! Cream of crab soup wasn't. I got a bowl while my friend got a cup. There is lump crab meat placed on top and it seemed the cup actually got more meat than the bowl did (yes, I fished around the bottom). Tasted like the Panara Bread lobster bisque and was mildly bland. The lump meat had that sweetness that made it yummy but I already got that in my sandwich. Service was fine and it was fun watching drunk patrons figure out the swinging front door.

    (4)
  • Kevin H.

There are many great choices here. However, making a trip to the Acme Bar and Grill just for the Cream of Crab soup is a great investment. This is the best cream of crab soup I have ever had.

  • Nicole H.

Food was great - we had wings and a burger. I went with my husband and sat at the bar. The waitress took our order, and then refused to come up to us after that. She would blatantly walk by, avoiding eye contact, and not check in on us. The only time we were given refills was when I walked away and went to the bathroom, I would come back to a full drink. Very surprised to see women being treated like this by another woman! Disappointed, really. The male bartender was great!

  • C B.

I would have given 2 stars based on my food but my boyfriend's meal was so disappointing I'm giving a 1. I had the Chesapeake Eggs, which I thought was just fine. I was disappointed to learn that the crab isn't Maryland Blue. My boyfriend got the Fish & Chips and his fish was extremely bland and tasteless. Tarter sauce was the only way to make that fish worth eating. Lastly, our Sunday afternoon waitress was nice, but the busboy was more attentive with our drink refills than she. Overall, I'd expect better quality of food for such a prime location in Annapolis.

In town for my first Sailboat show and had a few hours to walk through this wonderful little town. With many choices for lunch, we decided to have a seat at Acme. Both sandwiches we had were really good but my Open Faced McCluskey was excellent! I think it may have been a special. Hubby had the crab sandwich - I took a bite and went back to mine. The crab was great - tons of crab meat.

Decided to go back to this place after i was introduced to their Memphis bbq wings during the Yelp Makers Mark beer crawl. The seating is fairly comfortable and definitely would be great for a large group. After I looked over the menu, I decided to get 10 wings (fairly priced at $7.00 and i wanted to see if they could duplicate the awesomeness I had the day before) and the Grilled chicken club. My fiance ordered wings and the crab chowder soup. The wings were not as awesome as they were yesterday because they were not as crispy as they were the day before :(. The opportunity to redeem themselves will come again because I will specifically ask them to make them on the crispier side. I know they are capable of crisping something because the chicken club came out and was beautiful except the super crisp and ultimately inedible bacon on the sandwich. After punishing the fries and debating on bringing the unacceptable state o my sandwich I decided to wave down a server. She noted it looked crispy and would get me some bacon. Soon after our waitress came over said "burned bacon huh? I'll take care of that" and within 5 minutes she appeared again with a new sandwich and fries. I was definitely impressed. Great service, Great food, I couldn't have asked for a better outing. 4 stars earned but I am hoping to give them 5 if they pass my request for crispy wings my next trip.

  • Lesley G.

We were told they were the best wings in the area, and they were pretty good. My boyfriend said the hot wings were pretty on-par with blazin' wings at BWW. The place turns into a bar pretty quick, so not the greatest dining environment, but still a fun place.

  • Catherine M.

Stopped in mid day for a post shopping beer, and I have to say that I was pleasantly surprised. I think classifying it as a dive bar is selling it a bit short. The place was clean, the female bar tender friendly, cool antique tin roof, and slammin' ahi tuna fish tacos. I was relieved when the bar tender told me that the fish tacos make a regular appearance on their daily specials list, because they are reason alone to come back again and again.

  • Beall J.

Best bar food in Annapolis and it's not close. Service is excellent. If you want a sports bar this is your go-to in downtown Annapolis.

    (5)
  • Courtney S.

This place was ok. Came here for "brunch", but that menu was limited, so we ended up splitting nachos and getting 2 for 1 bloody Mary's. The Bloody Mary mix was good (spicy) but drinks were weak. Nachos were nothing special. Our server seemed to have the majority of the tables in the restaurant so she was busy and therefore not the quickest. Too many other options in Annapolis. Will not be back.

    (2)
  • M B.

The food was decent. I would have given this place 3 stars, but had crappy customer service. We had to search for a waiter when we wanted refills; and he only checked on us once.

C'MON!- this is a great place. Don't expect anything fancy though! The music is loud and ranges from rock and rap to David Allen Coe. You can buy Natty Bo'oh in a can and during the day I think they have the best wings in Annapolis. Acme is ridiculously loud, and can be crowded, but you're not there to show off you new linen pants or the boat which you just parked downtown. It's more of a downhome "corner" bar kinda place that serves cheap beer and plays the kind of music that makes you want to sport the dewey beach "rock fist". Everytime I read the other review for this place it makes me love it more! -just added- My review above is good for the late night crowd. During the day Acme is your regular "corner bar", good wings and something is always on TV.

    (5)
  • Michael B.

This place is known for its wings but falls pitifully short. After three trips we have come to the conclusion that it is just hype. The wings tend to be small and overcooked with average sauces at best. Cheep beer and nostalgia is all I would come for.

    (2)
  • Laurie W.

    Horrible. That is all.

    (1)
  • Tolga E.

Great buffalo wings in true east coast style. A decent enough bar that fits Annapolis just right. Good selection of beer, standard service, great location right in the downtown harbor. You can easily picture Navy kids hanging out, eating wings, flirting with girls and getting inappropriately wasted and then subsequently getting yelled at by their drilled sergeant the next morning at 4am.

  • Matt C.

What? A regular ol' bar getting 4 stars? Yup, and it damn near got 5. First of all, WHAT?! The food at this place BLEW ME AWAY. Here we are, at what is literally classified as a "dive bar," so I was expecting nothing spectacular. I was about to just go safe and get wings until I saw a turkey club on the menu. Even still, I was playing it safe. How can you mess up a sandwich, even at a "dive bar." But, we'll get back to that in a second. The only thing that keeps the Acme Bar and Grill from 5 star glory is that the service was a little slow and the place is a little tight. We were a fairly large group at 9, so the seating situation was a little off. We had to split up. Pretty minor infractions, but I demand a lot for my 5 star ratings. Back to the food. As I said, because our group was large, there were a few appetizers going around. My table didn't order any, again thinking that "dive bar food" was what we were getting, but the other table was a little more intrepid and ordered the crab cakes. WHAT?!! AMAZING. Seriously, one of, if not the best crab cakes I've ever had. It was 99% crab meat. No fillers. Absolutely blew me away. Then my turkey club comes out, and it is a HUGE sandwich, with turkey and honey baked ham on buttered toast, served with perfectly cooked fries. SO good. The wifes fish tacos were next, and really, fish tacos is a crap shoot at the BEST places. These were FANTASTIC! Not even a HINT of a "fishy" taste. There was a hint of lime and avocado and they were huge tacos. I didn't get to try my friends wings, as he DEVOURED them when they hit the table, but they smelled delicious. Seriously, I was blown away by the food at this "dive bar." The bill came to $217 for 9 peoples worth of food and drinks, plus gratuity added. Very reasonable. I seriously may reconsider this review and add them to my 5-Star club. If youre only knock is "slow service," not BAD service mind you, just a little slow, then you at least deserve consideration. If youre in Annapolis, ABSOLUTELY stop and eat here.

Found this "gem" wandering around in the rain on a Friday night; sounded like fun music and a good crowd inside, so we gave it a chance; it didn't last long. Both the drinks my girlfriend and I ordered were weak sauce; my Captain and Diet was about 95% diet; so bad in fact that I even went back up to the bar and sort of hinted it was bad...Bartender didn't seem to care so I asked for a shot of Captain to add to it; $8 mistake right there; should have just left. Don't waste your time; sausage fest full of a Navy Midshipmen, who I don't have a problem with whatsoever; it's just a shame the drinks sucked.

    (2)
  • Burgess N.

When I was a Midshipmen at the Naval Academy ACME was our stomping grounds. Literally about 3 times a week and average of about 5 hours each time. Service was great and the food was awesome. Quintessential Annapolis gin mill. Love the place, always have and always will. So many fun times here. Order the magical elixir...enough said. Cheers!

READ THOROUGHLY GRILL: 4.5 STARS Some of the best bar food in Annapolis. The wings are great and I salivate thinking about the steak and cheese egg rolls. I have never been anything but impressed. The beers are cheap, and the bartenders are friendly. BAR: 1 STAR If you wanted to drink in a bar in high school this is was the place to do it. I think that the underage (i mean REALLY underage) crowd has been cleaned up, but the bar still brings a weird crowd on weekend.

Very good wings (got the buffalo) and their happy hour ($3 domestic pints) goes til 8pm

  • Zoë M.

This place is an absolute no-go. We went after purchasing a voucher on Living Social. Cream of crab soup was okay, although was literally a bowl of cream with a few lumps of crab in. Crab sliders were teeny and just too fishy. We left pretty quickly and will not be going back. There are plenty of other much much better places to visit than this bar.

  • Kandra G.

Review for Sat, June 2, 2012 at 8pm or 9pm. Met friends of a friend here for drinks and a late night dinner. I ordered the shrimps and they were tasty. Never had them with onions and old bay. Our waitress was friendly and attentative. I ordered a white russian which wasn't that good so I then ordered a screwdriver because you can't mess that drink up. We left early because we wanted to dance, but the staff was friendly and they cared about keeping the place clean. I would go back.

  • Kara M.

I have to say- this was my favorite place during our stay in Annapolis. How it's classified as a 'dive bar' is beyond me. Great scene, attentive service (literally every employee at Acme stopped and asked if we were okay during our time here!) and delicious food. We stopped here for a few drinks and a late afternoon snack during a pretty ugly down pour. We had the buffalo chicken egg rolls- they were amazing! I can only imagine how great their wings are. Next time I would like to try their brunch- it comes highly recommended from my local friend.

  • JJ M.

Stopped into ACME because it looked busy and because they had crab cake sliders on the chalkboard. Crowd was a lively mix of young and old, locals and tourists. Billy and Caitlin took care of us. Pretty great service! Billy was quite the ambassador. I has a good Guinness (yes, there is bad Guinness). We ordered the sliders and very shortly afterward, had a massive plate set before us, piled with 4 intimidating sandwichettes and about a gallon of handcut-looking fries. The sliders were each about as big as my fist. The ACME assembly started with a sweet potato roll. There was a little spread of something on the bottom, maybe a tomato marmalade? Each golf ball sized croquettes of broiled lump crab meat was bound with a little bread crumb and mayo and a pinch of old bay. There was a little lettuce leaf and slice of tomato. The top bun was affixed with a long club pick run through a cherry tomato. Pretty tasty, and plenty too. the fries were a bit salty - just right for that type of joint. At less than $15, I thought it was a bargain.

  • Matt B.

I've never felt the need to leave a bad tip... Until I ate at Acme Bar and grill. Honestly the food was fine nothing to write home about but nothing to complain about either. Here's a quick rundown on the service though 10 minutes to get the drinks 15 minutes waiting to order 30 minutes to get the food 25 minutes after asking before they brought the check, and the waitress was unapologetic. I will never eat there again.

  • Daniella H.

I've always had a good experience here. Normally it's becauce everytime I'm there it's with friends who know the bartenders, so service is prompt and parts of the bill always end up comped! Beer deals are great, wings are delicious! Atmosphere is relaxed and it's a great place to watch games!

  • Adrienne R.

I like this place. You walk in and seat your self. It is kind of confusing and there is nobody around to help you. Service is spotty, all depends who you get. They have tv's if you are into sports, which I dig. Happy hour offers different specials depending on the day. I love the $2 Red Stripe Light, but am sad they never can seem to find it or are out of it. On two occasions I've been told "we have to check upstairs" but no Red Stripe Light appears. The other great thing is their Happy Hour runs late. No rush home from work to only get in an hour of Happy Hour prices. Some go until 8pm, and others until close. On to the food. I love their cream of crab soup. It has lots of crab in it. I order this soup at pretty much every place I eat in Naptown and here it is the best. They also have these Egg Roll appetizers. One is a cheese steak egg roll. When you get this other places, it is maybe 1.5 inches wide. Here, it is huge. You have to try it. I get ranch with it, I think it comes with marinara. Also, the cheese steak sandwich is my favorite. It's not the same as a Philly, but it haves the flavor of one from Philly. You have the option of Whiz and can add hots. My vegetarian friend gets their grilled cheese without the bacon and loves it. It has apples in it, which is unique for a bar. On the weekends (and possibly during the week) they charge a cover. It can also get pretty packed at night. I was really just there to eat and not hang out, so I skipped Acme and went up the street, as I detest paying covers. Also, i prefer to sit near the window and avoid the clientele if possible.

Best crab cake in Annapolis! Love to put it on the Greek Salad. Also the wings are fantastic!

    (4)
  • Justin C.

You seriously still charge a cover at 1am, in a bar in Annapolis? I'm pretty sure the 2 guys leaving, as we were about to enter, who asked for their $10 back summed up our experience with you quite succintly. You fail as a bar, hope your oysters are at least decent, although I hope to never find out.

  • Matt O.

This place was OK. I had the sliders and they were nothing to write home to mom about. I thought they were a little overcooked. The french fries are your typical fries, I am pretty sure they are frozen and precut. The price was great for what I got, got in and out for about 10 bucks. That was great! Waitress was great too. I may go back again, I am not sure how I feel about it yet though.

we had an awesome lunch at this place ... I got the Reuben and it was perfect. granted it was turkey, but the turkey was cooked right in house ...no pre packaged cold cut. my wife's crab sandwich was just as good. big chunks of crab meat that were not bothered with bread crumbs. just plain old crab meat that was seared perfectly. fries come with the meals and they were good, prices are very reasonable.

I've been here twice and I can def. say I enjoy the brunch menu much more than the lunch menu. It's been a while since I had brunch here, but I remember it was really good. I recently had a Living Social deal for soups, sliders, and beers. I have no complaints about the portions because they are very large, LARGE enough to eat most of it and still pack it up in a doggie bag and take home. I was disappointed with the flavor the Maryland crap soup didn't have enough flavor or crab meat, but I did appreciate the effort of putting half of a MD crab in the bowl. The sliders were oooo-kay, same I didn't like the flavor because they were fried and you could taste the grease, other than that they were fine the amount of crab meat was decent with the deal. As an appetizer my friend and I ordered cheese steak egg rolls...they were good, extremely hot so we had to wait for them to cool down. I hope that if I revisit Acme that it's for brunch.

Chesapeake style wings!!!! Chesapeake style wings!!!! Chesapeake style wings!!!! I first got to know this place from the lady in Circuit Court where my husband I got the marriage certificate. She told us "If you're planning to go get lunch somewhere around here, go to ACME, they have the best wings in Maryland!" so we did. I only went thre during lunch time, so I only going to write a review about the atmosphere during day time... It's a bit dark, but it's a sports bar type of place so I guess it's normal. It has laidback, relaxing atomosphere, with friendly servers. Back in 2007, they were allowing customers to smoke inside (I was able to), not sure if they do that anymore. And the wings! I was so glad to get to know the wings! Thank you the lady in circuit court! They have many different flavors to chose from, they are all good but I perfonally recommend Chesapeake wings, which is flavored with Old Bay seasoning. It's crispy outside, so juicy and tender inside, perfect harmony! I moved to Maine then California after that, I can't get Chesapeade style wings anywhere and I miss them so much... my husband and I sometimes make them at home. So anymore touring in Annnapolis, or couples decided to get married in Annapolis like us, stop by this shop and try the wings! It'll make it a memorable anniversary!

What can I say about Acme? They are notorious for underage drinking, sleazy old men, bottle blonde bimbos and cheap beer. With that said, they are victim to a bad reputation. They have done a lot to try and change their reputation lately, sadly it might be too little too late. They have an amazing crew working there who are very dedicated and their food is out of this world. I still maintain it is one of the best lunches in Annapolis, I just hope they can survive yet another PR nightmare.

Great food! Chill, laid back atmosphere, Acme is awesome during the day, and crazy at night! Fun place!! :)

  • Nan G.

Lunch was delicious. Maybe that is the best time to go to Acme. We enjoyed typical bar food: buffalo chicken tenders that were spicy and juicy, flavorful grilled chicken sandwich with a great honey mustard spread and fries. I was also able to get Sam Adams Summer Ale on tap that was perfectly refreshing and cold. It wasn't crowded at all. The waitress was very pleasant and quick. It was the perfect lunch spot for us today.

  • Duane S.

I should have read the reviews, but my stomach said it needed food now. I won't be going back here. There was only one server for the entire front and outside. The crab cakes lacked flavor (except like they were frozen for a long time) and were burnt. The only good thing was the old bay seasoning on the fries. Will need to do more research and not go to the first place that has crab cakes the next time.

Went to ACME a handful of times when I lived up the street. It's pretty chill during the week. It does get crowded and full of annoying Naval Academy brats on the weekends though. I remember the bartenders were really cool. Once I was so drunk I walked out on my tab and next time they were just like, "whatever, buy a couple beers and we're all good." I tipped 'em a bit extra and all was well. And that's what I miss about Annapolis. That would never, ever, ever happen any other place I've lived.

We stopped here for a break from the heat during a long day of walking/touring Annapolis. The menu featured a lot of pub food, and they had a calendar of drink specials. We split a plate of nachos, and both ordered an alcoholic beverage of choice. The nachos were good. The staff was friendly. Prices were extremely reasonable. The only downside was that it was pretty crowded and loud - especially for mid-afternoon. Bottomline: the restaurant is good for reasonably priced pub food.

My review of Acme is for the daytime experience only. I haven't been there at night, and from the looks of the other reviews, I might not want to. :) I wanted to give Acme credit for having really delicous eats. I have been there twice. Once I had a teryaki salmon burger, and once I had the crab cake sandwich. Both times the food was outstanding. Recommended.

It's like having Chili's as your favorite restaurant, and then finding out it's a chain... I just found out that there are at least 3 Acmes, and maybe more... Yup we walked up Main Street in Annapolis, and found a place that looked vaguely familiar, in the way that a friend you haven't seen since first grade might cause you turn your head... a good friend you haven't seen in a good long while. Oh Acme, how I remember drinking $1.25 16 ounce PBR's all night on the Isle of Palms. How I remember Jenny, our waitress, saying, "You drank 23 dollars worth of PBR -- that's DISGUSTING!" How I remember sitting next to millionaires and derelicts. And there, halfway up Main Street, on the left as you go up, is that little piece of heaven you suddenly can't find just everywhere -- a bar that is a bar first and a grill later. A place where Dan at the bar bothers to learn your name before he bothers to get you a beer. And now I will remember drinking one of every beer on tap, and then switching to National Bohemian -- the PBR of the north. And watching the day go by, and not thinking for one minute about where I should be, or what I should be doing. A sunny place for shady people.

Let's be clear, we went to ACME for brunch only because the line at the neighboring place was too long. ACME made us wish we had waited. We walked and and stood there for a minute because it was unclear if we sat ourselves or we waited for a host. Someone who was clearing tables asked "Waiting for a table?" and we we responded "Yes." He walked away without saying anything. The woman who would be our server then said "Hello" and walked out of the restaurant. Since we wanted the only table outside that was available, I went out and sat down. My wife was in there for a few more minutes when she finally got the attention of the bartender and let him know we were sitting outside. By the time that happened, there were 4 or 5 people waiting at the door as well. When my wife got to the table outside, she asked me if I had seen a server for the outside tables. I said I had and she had taken the order of the only other table (3 people) a few minutes ago. After about five minutes, the waitress returned to the other table with two cups of coffee. I made eye contact with her as she went in to restaurant. She reappeared a few minutes later with an additional cup of coffee for the other table. I again made eye contact with her as she went back into the restaurant. A few minutes later she appeared with cream and sugar for the coffee at the other table. At that point, I stood up and walked into the restaurant, walked to the server station and found the menus. I walked back out to find the server chatting with the other table. My wife an I picked our drinks and waited another couple of minutes when the server came over and said "sorry about that guys". I ordered OJ and water and my wife ordered iced tea. The OJ was gross. At first I thought made they gave me a screwdriver but I asked and the server said "No, it's straight orange juice, but it's from the gun so it might taste like whatever else has run through that gun." I told her I didn't want it and she took it back without question. My water and my wife's iced tea were both fine, so they got that going for them. The server managed to get back in a reasonable amount of time to get our order. My wife ordered french toast and I ordered an omelet with tomato, mushrooms and cheddar cheese. It actually came in a reasonable amount of time. Of course, we had to ask for silverware and ketchup. The "home fries" were french fries with seasoning and onions added, but were actually pretty good. The toast was good. The omelet with tomato, mushrooms and cheddar cheese had ham in it. I brought it back in the restaurant and told my server and handed her the plate. She told me "I'll have them re-do it" and I said thank you. I went out and sat with my wife as she ate her french toast. I watched her for 15 minutes. She said it was good. She was just about done when the busboy we first encountered came out and asked my "What is supposed to be in your omelet? Chicken?" I said "No. it was supposed to be tomato, mushrooms and cheddar cheese, but you can just forget it now. If you haven't started it yet I don't have time to wait." He pleaded that it would only take a few minutes, but I couldn't wait. I asked for the check. He returned, apologized and told me the french toast and iced tea were on the house. So the fact that I didn't have to pay for this disaster was the only thing they got right. Well, my wife liked her french toast.

Meh. If you want pretty decent food at happy hour, you can find it here. However, if it's after 10 pm you're looking for your classmates who didn't graduate high school, they're also here. There are creepers a-festering out of the corners of this bar. Also, stand a safe distance away from the knuckle-heads. A rousing fight is always about to break out.

Okay one female bartender was pretty rude to my guy friend and I... like it was odd she was snippity, short and just bitchy. She seemed to get along with the regulars, but was complaining about not making any money and getting all the bad shifts... I don't like hearing that, but being a bartender I can relate. However, I did find usually the ones complaining are the ones that keep getting the bad shifts... and even bad shifts can make money if you're good. However, the wings, oh my gosh! 39 cents!!! They're HUGE wings, they were awesome! The gold sauce is really really good. They were out of the first three beers they had listed that I wanted to try so that was a major bummer. After that it was all pretty much tons of the same... miller light, bud, yeunglings, corona, your typical non-fun standard beers wah wah. The football games weren't in HD but they were on. The music they played after the games, sort of new-aged reggae? was really good! I liked the vibe. The single downstairs stall was GROSS! The blue cheese was BY FAR the best blue cheese I ahve EVER had with my wings! I would go back just for that oh my goodness. SOO thick and delicious, it looked almost like cream cheese it was so thick. I also just coulnd't get over how big the wings were for so cheap.. YUM YUM!

UPDATE: I dropped my review down a star because I can't stand this place anymore--I've been three times total. At first I thought, oh the cheap beer place of Annapolis, this is fun. Naaah. Its the lamest group of townies hanging out in there and some kid wouldn't leave me alone trying to sell me coke the last time I went. Place is a dump, skip it at all costs.

Acme, Acme, Acme, what can you say it has so many different faces. During the weekdays this is a place to drop in and get a quick quite lunch. "Their wings are the best in town" with a plethora of flavors to choose from. My favorite cheese steak in the area. Their homemade cheese steak egg rolls are a decadence. During happy hour the place picks up with the bar crowd consisting mostly of what you can tell are their "regulars". The music gets a little louder and the bartenders look to be getting pumped up for their nights. As the sun goes down, Acme "gets down"! A DJ is a permanent fixture in the corner at night, and he takes request...reasonable ones. The place fills up as the night goes on the average age of the patrons quickly goes down. This is a favorite for the Naval Academy. I have found that all of the bartenders at Acme are friendly, funny and pour awesome drinks! This is true except for one blonde girl, who tends to lack in attentiveness and over charges by a few drinks every time you order through her. There are drink specials all of the time, you just need to know what they are and I am sure you will find something to your taste. One thing I know for sure I have never once left this place without a major buzz.

This place is known for its wings but falls pitifully short. After three trips we have come to the conclusion that it is just hype. The wings tend to be small and overcooked with average sauces at best. Cheep beer and nostalgia is all I would come for.

I've always had a good experience here. Normally it's becauce everytime I'm there it's with friends who know the bartenders, so service is prompt and parts of the bill always end up comped! Beer deals are great, wings are delicious! Atmosphere is relaxed and it's a great place to watch games!

There are many great choices here. However, making a trip to the Acme Bar and Grill just for the Cream of Crab soup is a great investment. This is the best cream of crab soup I have ever had.

Decent drinks and beer. I always enjoy the buffalo strips as an appetizer. Clientele is mixed with all types of people (some local and some tourist). Foods always decent, but sometimes there always seems to be a wait for drinks with only one bartender.

I went on a night where it was slammed. The place was packed. Security was nowhere to be found. We witnessed two fights and almost got into another when some very drunk person came to our table and was being ignorant. There was beer and garbage all over the place. We grabbed one drink and left as soon as we could. It was horrible.

The wings were really good! I recommend the spicy BBQ! Great happy hour specials too! If it's busy the waitresses are not the best. If they come over order a beer - you never know when you will see them again!!

We were told they were the best wings in the area, and they were pretty good. My boyfriend said the hot wings were pretty on-par with blazin' wings at BWW. The place turns into a bar pretty quick, so not the greatest dining environment, but still a fun place.

Great lunch today at Acme. BLT with Applewood bacon, garlic mayonaise, lettuce & tomato on toasted sourdough bread. It was very yummy and I'm stuffed! Good job!

we had an awesome lunch at this place ...
