We stayed here on our wedding night. Miguel was delightful and professional. The house is absolutely charming. I see in the other reviews that the highlights for others included the breakfast and the upscale showers. Unfortunately, we were unable to experience either of these things. The city was replacing the poles for the power lines outside our window from 12 pm - 10 am. My husband woke up in the middle of the night due to all the noise. We couldn't have breakfast or even take a hot shower because the power had to be shut off for the work going on outside. I find it very hard to believe that the city didn't give John advance notice that this was going on. We weren't warned about the upcoming noise or that we would be missing out on one of the biggest selling points, breakfast. We checked out early so that we could shower and get coffee. What a major disappointment. Perhaps this was all out of his control, but when we spoke to John about this he was unhelpful and passive aggressive. For the cost of the room, it is reasonable to expect breakfast and electricity. Although the Marriott lacks the charm, we will stay there next time.

My wife surprised me with a night here for my birthday. The Harbour View room was a great room. Had a great hot tub with a sauna shower. The hospitality was great with a great breakfast in the morning. It is in walking distance to the pier area. I highly recommend this B & B and hope to come back soon!!

Incredible stay with the most gracious of hosts. My wife and I decided to travel to Annapolis for a few days for our seventh wedding anniversary. We researched for some time and found many positive reviews of this charming little bed and breakfast. Let me tell you, it did not disappoint. Our host and owner John was simply incredible. From helping us with parking, recommendations for food, and even serving as Chef John at breakfast in the morning, he was incredible. If you've ever met one of those truly positive individuals in life who have such a caring heart and intelligence to match, that is John. Let's start with where the B&B is located. It is exactly one block from the waterfront and 3 houses down from the entrance to the Naval Academy. You could not dream of a better location. The restored historic home is dripping with charm and filled with antiques and items reminiscent of Annapolis's maritime past. But not at all assuming or stodgy where you would not feel comfortable. We are in our mid 30's and lived the decor. Our room was situated on the second floor, the Academy suite, and is adorned with a nautical theme (see pics). The sailing theme was extremely well done and we had a beautiful and comfortable bed. The bathroom though is what truly set this apart. From his and her separate vanities, the salon couch and finally the double size garden jacuzzi tub, everything was perfect. A separate and large water closet held the separate toilet and a marble glass door showers which doubled as a steam sauna. There was a color changing (not tacky) rainfall shower above and two very powerful jets on the wall, what a shower! The steam system in this showers turned it into a steam sauna in less than a minute and we used it daily. Breakfast each morning could feed an army and could serve as a last meal. Generally it would start with fresh squeezed OJ, delicious coffee or tea. And then would be followed by a delicious egg dish, a breakfast meat and then either blueberry pancakes or homemade waffles. On the table at all times was Vermont maple syrup. Your entrances to and from the B&B were code activated and you could come and go as you please. This delightful inn never left the feeling that we were being supervised. We had the pleasure of meeting two other nice couples who we discussed food experiences with and shared bottles of wine with out on the front porch which offered a beautiful view. Again, other than the Marriott on the water , which is dull and overpriced, this was probably the closest accommodations to the water in historic Annapolis. We could generally walk out the front door and be at a number of pubs or restaurants in less than a minute, but you never heard noise at the house. This is a must stay for anyone wanting to enjoy the charm or old Annapolis. Our first B&B experience and we can't wait to go back. P.S. John also has a sailboat which he charters for half day trips at extremely fair prices. Ask him about it if you'd like to truly experience the Chesapeake and Severn river from the water. Until next time...

Although I don't typically stay at a lot of B&Bs, and I don't really write many public reviews, this is a place I really want to go back to, as it was really a nice experience. We stayed there in mid-March 2012 for a brief anniversary getaway. The property is a charming house from the 1880s which was rescued and fully restored by the truly delightful owner/proprietor, John. The house is inviting, casual and relaxing with just the right mixture of "period" and modern touches. We stayed in the Harbor View Room on the top floor which was very large and comfortable, offering all the modern amenities (flat-screen TV, wi-fi etc.). It also has one of the most amazing (and strangest, but in a good way) bathrooms I've ever encountered: you'll just have to request that room to see for yourself. The best part of the stay may well have been the breakfast--it was delicious. Eggs, waffles, fresh fruit, granola/yogurt, sausage, potatoes, coffee/tea and juice--all fresh and homemade by John. You can just tell when someone truly enjoys what they are doing, and I got the sense from John that for him it is really a labor of love. The B&B is just a block and a half from the main dock downtown and literally right next door to the US Naval Academy. This is an easy 5 stars and I can't wait to get back.
