Everything about Primavera is rather good. Love their pasta and sandwiches.

Awesome food. We have only eaten in the restaurant once so my review is totally based on our carry out. Their white pizza is AMAZING, either broccoli or spinach make this pizza! The pasta dishes are fantastic. Their anti pasta salad is delicious. I think it's the house dressing that makes it. The outside doesn't look like much but you will not want to miss out on this gem.

Went here for a coworkers going away lunch. We had preordered everybody's meals so we could do separate checks, but the waitress just wasn't prepared to deal with a group this large (~24 people). We got baskets of bread and butter straight away, and the bread was fresh, crusty, and delicious. The food was pretty good, and they were relatively attentive with drink refills. If you're... at all Italian you might get annoyed that their 'baked penne' dish is actually rigatoni (I have no idea why they would do this). Their chicken parm and eggplant parm were well liked by all of my coworkers, but I thought their sauce was a bit bland, needs more... something. I've had their pizza before, and it was solid. I'll go back and try more things definitely. Highly recommend trying, despite the location-based sketch factor. Don't recommend for large groups (unless you're paying on a single check).

Mmmmm Tortellini Rose! I honestly can't remember what anyone else got, I was too busy eating my own. We had a late dinner with my Aunt and Uncle, Boyfriend and brother so we were seated immediately. Our server was very pleasant and chatty which suits my family just fine! It's not the most authentic place out there but it was tasty, the wine was good, and prices were fair.

This restaurant is very under-rated. Food quality is excellent Service is good. They have a very good wine menu. And they have draft beer too. Nice drinks.

I'd eat here again and dug the white pizza and pepperoni. I ordered delivery around 630 and food was at the hotel and hot by 715. Much better than a gain restaurant when on the road.

Ahhhmazing! A friend recommended this place and wow.... Worth the drive!!! Shrimp Rolando, Shrimp Scampi and Lobster Ravioli are to die for! Oh, and for dessert order the Lemon cake!

The "Shrimp Rolando" and "Antipasto Classico" appetizers were yummy! There were also some nice "reds" at the bar!

Atomosphere OK. Seem to be a bit short staffed. The food is italian fare and real tasty. This one is one the return list.

I am really confused by some of these reviews. We go here regularly and have NEVER had a bad meal. Always accommodating to our requests for food....i.e.....different pasta or sauce. Add / delete an ingredient from the dish, unless the chef feels you are going to ruin the taste. I've experienced this 1st hand and he was right, even though I didn't think I would like it. If you ever have an issue ask for Dan! Awesome owner and chef!

After reading the reviews I had to try it... Of course I was VERY DISAPPOINTED "come on Yelpers"... the pizza was VERY GREASY, it ate threw paper towels upon paper towels, I'm taking Bounty too... The chicken pasta was sub-par, if your gonna sell us Alfredo sauce out of the jar, spice it up at least... I could've done this at home without trying $31.00 wasted...

    (2)
  • Madison W.

I agree with another Yelper you are in the booney's not Little Italy in city so lower you expectations a little. I got the lasagna not the best i've had but not the worst It was decent. A big portion too I would have liked a bit more meat but got more ricotta cheese than that. I did like the homemade Italian dressing on their salad. The prices were reasonable too. If I was spending more time here I would have came back to try a different dish they had the classic italian dishes. Also the waitresses were nice, attentive, and the food came out fairly quickly.

Pizza is authentic New York delicious! I am from northern New Jersey and this is the most authentic I have ever found! We have ordered more times than I would like to admit and the pizza is GREAT every time. I have had sausage and peppers as well as Misto salad both have been very good.

  • Michael M.

The food was great! They accommodated our party of 13 without a problem. Prices are reasonable.

  • Shannon M.

Tried this place out after an elderly Italian woman recommended the food. We got a large cheese pizza for carry out as well as the Italian Misto salad. We picked it up and the inside is much nicer than it would appear from the outside. Very clean and friendly staff. The pizza is probably the best in the area especially if you like NY style pie. Ingredients were fresh in the salad with an amazing house dressing. Italian women will never steer you wrong when it comes to Italian food. Pasta dishes also look great!

  • Russ E.

Best pizza around here. Really good thin and chewy New York style, with a great sauce. Classic greasy, pizzeria style, not the sweet, bready papa johns style. I can also attest to the great shrimp salad sandwich. That said, I have not liked most of the other food I've gotten here. It's giant portions of mediocre Italian food. My advice, stick with the bar menu and the pizza.

Went there for Lunch for something different. The Italian Mistro Salad was Very Good! Sat at a table in the bar area and played Keno. Nice touch! Good food and good service!.

  • Jenna G.

Pretty much right on point. Food is pretty damn good. Nothing hugely impressive, but not disappointing. Has some annoying regulars that are hard to avoid as a young woman, but other than that its a pretty neat spot to grab lunch.

  • Christina V.

When you keep in mind where you are (middle of no where MD,) this place is pretty much as good as it gets. The food is comparable with what I got a good NYC pizzeria, and the girls that work there are very sweet. Prices are good, depending on what you get - during the week, pizzas are 25% off in the bar, so if you split that and both get a drink or two, you can have a nice dinner for around $25. Atmosphere is ok - it's clean and looks recently updated, but more cozy than fancy.

Had Eggplant Parmesan. Tasted very good. Service was very good and we had a large group. All served quickly and warm. Another had Crab cake. Reviewer said very good but Box Hill better (but that it's tough to beat). Chicken Parm reviewer said overcooked, but noodles and sauce were good. Overall, will be back. Nice place and worth the trip.

First off this is not our frist visit to this resturant. We have been there several times in the past and have had both good service and food on those occasions. However this visit was quite different. First off the food was good as always. We have never had bad food here. The service was sub-par and the response from the owner was even worse. We sat in the bar area and while it was busy there were a couple of tables and several seats at the bar open. They had two waitress working this area, one at the bar and the other handling the 6 or 7 tables. I ordered a draft beer and my wife asked for a wine list, these were brought out promptly. It did take the waitress a good 5 minutes to come by the table to ask if my wife had made a decission yet. She asked if she had decided yet, this she did as an after thought while walking back from another table. When my wife went to order an appetizer and salad she appeared that she wasn't ready to take that much of an order. The appetizer and salad came out with in 5 minutes and at that time we ordered a pizza. This was the last time our waitresses came by our table until we had finished. The pizza came out and was hot and good. My only complaint was that the runner who borught it out did not ask if we needed anything else, I would have liked to have some parmensan cheese. After my second slice I had finished the beer and was looking to order another one. However our waitress never stopped by our table to see if the food was ok or if we needed anything. After waiting for a good 15 minutes I finally went to the bar and ordered my own beer. We waited another 10 minutes before she came by our table to ask if everthing was alright and to finally ask my wife if she wanted another glass of wine. We only asked for the check and a box. I will add that she was attentive to some of her other tables making stops at them several times. This is where things went from bad to worse. After I paid my bill I went to ask for the manager. After about a 5 minute wait a young man came up and ask if I needed any help. I told him that I was waiting to see the manager and he told me he was the owner. I introduced myself and told him that we had had very bad sevrice. His immediate response was to tell me that they were busy and were short 3 people. What bothered me most was the tone in which he said this. It was apperent that he had no interest in my concerns and I was taking up his valuable time. At no time did he ask what had happened. When I voice my impressions to him about his response he said was that there was nothing he could do about it except maybe make it up to me on my next visit. It was a this point that I decided that I was going to waste not more of my time on this and left. My wife and I have decided to never again visit the resturant. We will choose to spend your money where it is appreciated. I am sure that the "owner" will just say I am one of those people who he couls never make happy. Nothing could be further from the truth. All we we looking for was someone to show some concern as to how we were treated in their business. However, I guess that business must be great if you can afford to show this lack of caring for your customers. I reccomend that you send your hard earned money elswhere.

WHAT A GREAT MEAL AND ATMOSPHERE!!!! Luv Primavera. Food excellent. Appetizer, Shrimp Rolando - so tasty, shrimp nice and large, sauce very tasty. My husband had Veal Vincenzo and savored every bite of the veal and jumbo lump crab. My Seafood Pescatore w/ shrimp, mussels, clams and calamari in whit wine garlic over angel hair was to die for. Staff was bubbly and attentive. Mild 50- 60's era music playing and other couples really enjoying themselves as were 3 senior ladies. What fun!!!!

I tried this place out with my husband since I bought a living social deal ($20 for $40 worth of food). The place though on the side of the road is nicely decorated inside. The service was also great and everyone was nice. The food on the other hand was not so good. The brushetta we had was decent, but my pasta dish (mix of shell fish, octopus, shrimp with red sauce on linguine) was not. It was overloaded with seafood that you couldn't taste anything else. In addition the smell was rather strong. I am more use to a more subtle amount of seafood, where the price reflects quality vs. quantity. With my living social pass, we were automatically charged 18% tip and were not given happy hour prices for the brushetta even though it didn't mention it in the pass. We would have tipped that anyways, so no big deal.

I tried this place out as a result of reviews on Yelp. I was disappointed. This is a mediocre Italian Restaurant at best. The selection was very basic. The food was OK, but nothing special. I will say they serve alot of food. Service was quick and efficient. Almost too much so. I was disappointed they did not have any soup to choose from, and the bread served was stale sourdough. I thought they were a bit pricey for what you go. I ordered the Veal Parmesean. Nothing interesting, basic stuff. Think Olive Garden has better!! I would hope there are better Italian Restaurants in the area. But that will have to wait for my next trip to the area. I suggest you pass on this place. Perhaps closer to Baltimore is the better choice/option.

Good food and service. Pasta nicely done with really good sauce (chucks of tomato, peppers, not watery). Whole wheat pasta option. Bread warm with very crunchy crust. Veal tender and tasty. Service a little slow for a night restaurant was mostly empty but attentive to needs and not overbearing. Portions are ample. Decor is sort of 60s (dark paneling, etc) but clean. Outside of restaurant (along side a secondary highway) is nothing to look at.

A great place on the side of the road. So far, nothing we have had there as disappointed, and there are several items on the menu that are our favorites. For apps, we like the Shrimp Veneziana or the Fried Tomatoes with Crab meat, and for dinner we split the Chicken Montebianco. No complaints about the portion size, although it can be expensive if we get all crab meat items (but that is no different than any other place)

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
