Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

I watched it being built, I watched it being paved, I watched it being filled. The lights went on and I watched. I waited. I didn't want to go in just yet. As I walked by on my 4 mile power walks I saw business coming and going and I waited. One day I hankered for a pizza and I knew the time was right. I waited no more. The Road Runner Pizza is only about 2 blocks from my house and I haven't bought pizza in eons. I make it at home and it's very good. But for some reason, I wanted to try this one out ever since I saw the "coming" sign. It was sooo worth it. A really nice family owns the business and you can see how they all pitch in together to make it work. We walked in and looked at the menu. Not overly extensive which is a refreshing change from all the other pizzerias that have menus going around the corner. The usual stuff....pizzas, subs, apps, salads and Italian dishes. We ordered up a large pizza. Came in pretty good time and it was piping hot and bubbly. The crust was crispy on the outside but tender on the inside, just like I love it! n The ingredients were fresh and lots of it. The large was pretty large because we couldn't finish it and that's saying alot. The decor is ok. Typical pizza place type of look. The only thing I didn't like was that the chairs scraped horribly on the tile floor. I don't mean this little sound...I mean this HUGE GRTTGGTTTT that I swear echoed into the back of the kitchen. Everyone stopped doing their thing and looked at me. Ugggh ... PUT FELT PADS UNDER THE LEGS PEOPLE!!!!! The next time we wanted pizza...we had it delivered.

We were in the mood for a great pizza. Very disappointed. The onion hamburg pizza was just plain and regular, nothing special.

#24 on the Worcester Pizza Quest It was a Friday night and in the mood for pizza let's look at the list. Road Runner Pizza--Images of the Wiley Coyote pop into mind. Let's hope that smart Road Runner was a relative and we get to enjoy a wonderful pizza. Gave them a call and a pleasant-sounding person answered the phone. They asked me if I could hold, I agreed. Quickly they were back on the phone asking for my order. I asked for a large half mushroom half cheese pizza and a small order of fries. They said number 23, then said bye and hung up. I was unable to pick up the pizza pie but the person that did said it looked clean, they treated her ok, and they were busy. First thing I opened was the fries. We laughed the box containing the fries had plenty of space. Actually the white sheet of paper they placed in the box took up more space then the fries. Road Runner pizza is very skimpy with their fries. It looked like a small order of fries from McDonald's, sad. Coming from a pizza parlor this was a first. Maybe they did us a favor because the fries were not very tasty. Popped open the pizza box and right away you see the bread style pizza the staple of unimaginative pizza places. Through this search we are finding way to many pizza parlors are like this. The pizza had the correct amount of cheese and mushrooms. The mushrooms were canned. The pizza had a weak pizza smell to it. Once you take a bite you notice the correct amount of cheese but the sauce is weak and not flavorful. The crust was dry and not chewy. For a Greek bread style pizza this is below average. As one person posted if your drunk and anything would do this pizza would do. Unless you live right beside this parlor I would suggest finding another Pizza joint. If this Road Runner was being chased by Mr. Wiley Coyote then that Coyote would have spit him out and looked for a lizard to eat. (I understand that people place emotions when they visit a restaurant a lot. But in my reviews rely on how I felt about a place and on the tastiness of the food. Nostalgia has no factor in my reviews. I treat each review as a first time visit and the impact that was placed on me when visited.)

We had been buying from Road Runner for a year or two, and the food was pretty good, typical pizza place stuff. We ordered delivery one night, and I gave my credit card number over the phone. After about an hour went by, and no food, I picked up my phone and they had called twice. My ringer was off. Oops. So I called back, and was told that my credit card was no good. Unless it's a $5000 pizza, that wasn't possible. Logical explanation is that either I read him the number wrong, or he wrote it down wrong, but in any event the guy proceeded to verbally blast me over the phone about it. I offered three times to just give him another credit card number, and he wouldn't stop yelling at me long enough to even hear what I was saying to him. I didn't get angry or nasty, I simply apologized for not answering the phone when he called, and offered to give him another card. He hung up on me. Needless to say, I will never order from them again. We were regular customers, as were our neighbors. Without recanting the entire conversation, I did not deserve to be screamed at for a simple mistake, that was most likely not even mine. Pizza places in Worcester are a dime a dozen, and Road Runner's food is not good enough to give that guy the right to treat me that way. From now on, I'll get pizza elsewhere.
