Wow, where to begin!? The food was amazing; lots of great flavors and portions were significant enough to bring leftovers home. Dishes are well worth their price point. I'd highly recommend the Toga Dip appetizer. Great for sharing! We also got the Seared Twin Herb Quail and the Ciopinno. Both were delicious choices. Cocktails were very nice, as well. The customer service was wonderful; personal and attentive. I left feeling like a Hollywood movie star, seriously. This place was a treat!

RITUAL IS OUT OF BUSINESS!!!!! Went there last night - even had an Open Table reservation and a Groupon in hand - the chairs were stacked in the window - and two guys sitting inside told us they were the new owners of the space and were ripping out the fixtures to start building their new restaurant. Fortunately, the wait at Volturno wasn't too bad, but we were pissed!

Came here for a quick drink before our show at the Palladium look forward to stopping by here for future shows. Open air during the summer, love it!!! Had some $5 martinis which mine was ok husband loved his nice and strong. The two things I love? The spectacular service from our waiter and the toga dip. This appetizer was a meal for two people. Several flavored hummus and veggies beautifully arranged with delicious pita fried dough like slices for dipping. Look forward to coming back!

I went there for the first time a few months ago. We had their lunch buffet which was rather surprisingly diverse. Their drinks were really good especially the cucumber mash which you must try!!

Great service - thank you, Mark! My rib eye was prepared perfectly. My husband's lamb was also perfectly prepared. Both were so tasty that we didn't need salt or pepper. The chef had gluten free rolls for me and was willing to accommodate my husband who doesn't mix meat and milk. Great meal with a front row seat on downtown Worcester.

We were here last week on an evening at 6 PM & we had the place mostly to ourselves. Our previous visit here we had really bad service, but we bought the Groupon so were giving it another go. During this visit the service & food were both excellent. The menu had gone through a massive change (they have a new chef). A couple of the old things on the menu that I loved were no longer there & had been replaced with new items. The chicken was excellent. Really I can't think of any negatives for this particular dining experience. I would recommend this restaurant to everyone. If you have read my previous reviews, you know I give five star reviews very rarely, so you know this is a gem.

I bought a groupon to this place ($25 for $50) and I'm glad I did!! I love the atmosphere of this place. I went on a Friday night and there was hardly anyone there....I was quite surprised. The menu is amazing. Chocolate covered bacon?! I mean, come on. I already want to go back to try more things. However, the wait for our food was sooo long. About 30 min for our appetizer and another 30-40 min after that for our meal. The food was awesome though, so it was worth the wait! Also, they have a $5 martini list! I would definitely go back here.

I am giving this restaurant a four because although my food was SO AMAZING!!!!!! the service was so dragging and slowwwwwwwwwwww. Love the atmosphere and the decor, its very romantic and dark, and the food was to die for. Hope they get more servers so that the service can be more upbeat and a bit faster. I would still recommend this restaurant!

First trip for dinner at Ritual. On the recommendation of Mark our waiter we ordered the cheese steak dip.... great choice it was amazing!! We had Guilty Pleasure as entree ; chicken broccoli and bacon in an Alfredo sauce over penne. Done very well with a fluid sauce , not chunky, with a perfect touch of garlic. I had yellow fin tuna cooked rare with rice and veggies. A great cut of Tuna prepared perfectly! Mark was top notch and an asset to the establishment. He was entertaining and was very attentive. Will return soon and ask for Mark again!

Service was not all that great. The food was not the best and due to that I will not return. I do not recommend this place to anyone

Went to dinner with a groupon---everything was excellent. The drinks were so creative and delicious, our dinner was cooked perfectly, and the staff was beyond friendly. I'm can't wait to go back again! So glad I found this restaurant...zero complaints!

chocolate bacon...as if that's not enough reason to check this place out. Accompanying that amazing app, the Poseidon chowder was excellent! Tons of seafood and very rich. Stuffed tuna steak was excellent as was the maple glazed bacon wrapped pork tenderloin with smashed sweet potatos. The flavors expertly crafted in each dish. We were wowed. At 20, those were two of the more modestly priced dishes, but they weren't alone and the menu had a great range of options. I couldn't honestly care less about decor, but it was very nice and the staff was very friendly and helpful. We will definitely come back to try the cheesecake dip, bacon dates, and a pizza.

They really need to get their act together. Bacon app arrived cold and greasy. Pork was good but lacked any recognizable vegetables. Couldn't get any service straight. Very expensive.....disappointing!

Ritual had a really nice ambiance and the food was good. There were so many appetizers that sounded delicious, so we ordered apps. We tried the Cheesesteak Dip, the bacon-wrapped shrimp, the tuna and a few different sliders. The cheesesteak dip could have used more flavor, but the fried pita bread that went along with it was really tasty. The salmon slider was just regular salmon on bread, it was alright. The beef slider was delicious. Shrimp seemed fresh, bacon was fatty and the Ahi Tuna was fresh. Overall, it was a good place- a few imperfections, but pretty good!

What a great place with great food. Stumbled upon this place and I plan on returning. Just don't hope for quiet. The food was just simply surprising. Surprising enough that we ordered 2 more entrees for "later". Well worth it, I'd recommend this to anyone with love for great food.

Found the restaurant on YELP, walking distance to my hotel, recommended by the hotel bartender. Great menu, in fact hard to choose as many things looked good! Not busy on a Wed night, sat at the bar. Chose the quail app and the short rib dinner. Quail was perfectly prepared, tad too many greens and the peas added little. The short ribs were perfect and the Brussels's sprouts Were perfect!! Highly recommended!

This place is constantly in disarray. Their phone number doesn't work and after going a few times for their $10 lunch buffet, today we stood in front of the hostess stand while folks in the kitchen chugged along and a guy walked from the kitchen and blabbed on his phone for about three minutes. Did I mention the whole place had ZERO customers in it aside from us? Finally someone who wanted business came out from the back, informed us that they had a power outage earlier and if we were there for the buffet it wasn't ready (at 12:30 pm) but their whole menu was available ... Which is definitely more costly than the $10 buffet. I'm not saying it wouldn't be worth it, but after wasting five minutes of a half hour lunch break to hear this, it is such crap. Their buffet is mostly cold items to make a salad, surely a fridge couldn't have spoiled in a fast power outage? Might this relate to their disgusting and pathetic board of health review that I peered at about half a year ago? I came once for the "unlimited seafood fest" which wasn't unlimited at all... False advertising, poor customer service and a consistently empty facility can't bode well for ritual. Being a resident of downtown, I'm disappointed that this is one of the bar/restaurants I have to pick from if I want to eat close by.

I have been here a few times before and I just have to say it hands down amazing. Never had a bad experience. Drinks and food are on point! Went there tonight with my family and had the most amazing waiter I have ever had in my life! My family would have to agree with me on that one. His name was Mark and he was out of this world! Such a personable and hysterical man. Definitely loves his job and made our night one of the best nights we have ever had as a family. Just want to thank him again for being such a attentive server, everyone who goes here should be graced with his presence! Loved him and everything about this restaurant highly recommended.

Great find on Main Street! The bar is the focal point with tables scattered around. We started with the Lobster Bisque, it was great. Next we ordered the Caesar Salad, very large and tasty. Then we were served the Grilled Lamb Lolly Pops. Another great choice. Our main course (we shared everything) was the Chicken Marsala. We licked our plates, everything was wonderful. Our server, Melissa was very attentive and efficient. But the best part is that we used a Groupon and were not treated differently! We definitely will return to try all the other exciting choices..

This was a great meal. The gorgonzola potato cake was one of the yummiest things I've ever eaten - I would go back for that alone. The pork with gnocchi was delicious. We can't wait to go back. The only 2 drawbacks: The loud, obnoxious chowderheads at the bar right behind us and the slow-ish service. Our waiter was super nice, though. We'll be back - often.

Delicious. Just got back from a Valentine's Day dinner with the wife. Food was great, service was great, drinks were great, valet was great. All around fantastic. Cheesesteak Dip: awesome appetizer. Highly recommend Shrimp Lemon Feta: awesome. Shrimp could have used a dash more seasoning, but the feta and capers were a nice combo. Pork Tenderloin w/ Gnocchi: some of the best pork I've had...and it was bacon wrapped...so bonus. Nice atmosphere as well. You'll enjoy when you give ritual a shot

I have to say I hate to post anything negative about a restaurant especially when their food is so good. We waited 25 minutes for an appetizer. This was my third time here and I have to say the service is horrible. As good as the chocolate bacon is it's not worth waiting 25 minutes for. When it finally arrived we took it to go and went somewhere else. The last time we were at rituals they forgot the bacon in the BLT salad....and we waited forever for our food. Tonight I wanted the Tuna which is why we went there it was all out. If you have the time and patience it is worth the wait. Don't expect spectacular service for the price.

This is one of the best places around to get great food with a good atmosphere. Not to mention the menu has one of the most eclectic mixtures of food, you could go from an Italian favorite to Great Japanese food. Not to mention mark is one of the funniest guys and such a personable waiter. By far five stars!

Visited Ritual on Saturday at 6 pm. Luckily had a reservation as the place was full a half hour later. Our waitress, Melissa, did a very nice job despite being fairly new to the restaurant world. My wife had the Poseidon chowder which she loved. I had the calamari which might be the best I have ever had. The tartar sauce had a kick to it and the calamari was cooked perfectly, not too much batter. The appetizers were followed by the seared duck breast, unusual and excellent, and tuna ceviche, also a hit. We will definitely return. Might even become a ritual.

This place was disappointing. First of all I ordered an appetizer- the spicy crab and avocado on a bed of seaweed...it was brought to me in a sundae type of glass stuffed so full. I had to eat through most of the crab to get to the seaweed which wasn't even there! They had replaced the seaweed with a plain spinach salad...I had asked the waiter about this and apparently the chef said they were out of seaweed. I felt lied to since they didn't even tell me and I had it discover this on my own. As a side note, I couldn't find any avocado in this salad. So 2 of the 3 main ingredients were missing (avocado and seaweed). This was a $14 salad...I expected it to at least have the ingredients it was advertising. I had the scallops w lobster ravioli. The dish was good, but it wasn't as delicious as I had hoped. The lobster ravioli wasn't cooked long enough and the lobster/cheese inside tasted kind of "curdy". The scallops were nice and flavorful, but overall a very small portion especially considering the price. My SO had the steak...it was a steak, not the best and not the worst. Nothing to write home about. For dessert we split the hot lava cake which wasn't entirely hot:( cold fudge is not that great of a combination with gelato...it would have been delicious had the lava cake actually been warmed up appropriately. Overall, not the greatest experience. Oh, and where was the Mediterranean food they advertise? I expected so much more from this place. Nice atmosphere for drinks and an appetizer but not much else.

A somewhat fusion-ey restaurant. Seems centered on middle eastern fare but ranges out from there. Nice interior, a more professional clientele and prices reflect that. You could do worse than bringing a girl here on a date. Surprisingly good chowder, the most enjoyable I've had in the area.

I decided to come here for lunch and I have to say it wasn't a bad choice. Service was alright, I sat at the bar and i think the bartender was the waiter for everybody in the place, which made the wait a little long but not bad. The seafood chowder was very rich and full of seafood I felt like it just needed a little something of flavor but overall delicious. The Carpaccio was awesome flavor was great and cut was good. Definitely my favorite! my lunch came to $16 something, I thought that was very reasonable for the restaurant, Parking though always a hassle but that's the area for you.

Go in and ask for Big Mark - you won't be disappointed. The food is out of this world (even during the lunch buffet - only $10!). The service? Just as good. Other restaurants in Worcester don't hold a candle to this downtown gem.

Tried this place with my boyfriend after his roommates recommendation. Had the kalamari, bruschetta, bacon stuffed dates and a steak and cheese pizza. Service was okay, we would ask her for a recommendation and she just said that "everything is to die for". Kalamari was started, a little greasy... .Bruschetta and pizza were amazing and the dates were different, in a good way - a bit too rich after eating the kalamari, but were enjoyed later that evening. I thought that perhaps I'd have a family dinner there next week or choose it for the next girlfriends get together spot, as I thought the menu selection was amazing and the food was so great, but unfortunately when we received the bill, our server had charged us for 5 sodas (there was just the two of us), even though they offer free refills. Asked for more water and never received it Overall, food was great, but the service didn't match. I think the price point is fine, since the food really looked fantastic (didn't mind checking out neighbors dishes and desserts!) - but service was subpar and I don't think I'll be returning due to service alone. Too bad, desserts look A-MAZING!

We loved this place! Wanted to go within walking distance of Mechanics Hall. Although it had just 3 1/2 stars, we gave it a try. Our server Mark was truly wonderful. We had the seafood chowder, white bean chili, fried calamari and BBQ shrimp pizza. All were delicious! A little disappointed in the calamari portion, a few too many peppers and not enough fish, but perfectly prepared. Next time we are in Worcester, we would definitely go back!

Not impressed. Went on Saturday night for dinner (not late mind you) and they were out of pizza. All of them. You're joking right? Not to mention that they were also out of basically everything that you'd want to eat which was really annoying. I was visiting for the weekend so I definitely will not be returning when I'm back in Worcester. One more thing. Don't let their "best onion soup" fool you. SUPER sweet, so much so that I couldn't finish it because it was like drinking syrup. Far from what constitutes the best onion soup.

Not great. They were 'out' of crab meat, lobster sub was slathered in mayo?, artichokes were canned, and lamb was steamed med rare. Dark, dank, hot (a/c issues) and sleeveless shirt guy's cologne scorched my nose hairs.

Went back last month and everything was just about as amazing as the first time. I will add that my salmon-rice dish was a bit watery and not as good as the first time. The service was fantastic and the martinis were great. We still have quite aways to go before we sample some of the interesting dishes on the menu - so we will be going back soon.

Been here twice. 1st time I got the prosciutto fig pizza, which was out-of-this-world good. The 2nd time I got the buffalo chicken pizza, which was good, but didn't hold a candle to the prosciutto fig. I live in Boston, so far away from Worcester, but next time I'm in this area, I'm hoping to stop here again. Great ambience, friendly bar staff. A tad bit pricy, though.

Upping rating to 3-stars for my latest dining experience there. The female GM/Manager is very driven and works her butt off, constantly making sure things are in order. Props for effort. Our dining experience was slightly better this time. We had the lobster rangoons, french onion soup, and kobe sliders. - Kobe sliders were medium rare to rare (asked for them medium) - French onion soup was actually quite good, would definitely have again - Lobster rangoons - not bad but probably would not have again. The app I had last time, the spicy crab was out :( I had the duck (Iron Chef Worcester winner) - this was FANTASTIC. I legit loved it one of the best duck entrees I have had. Only problem is I sat for about 5-6 minutes waiting for silverware (the waitress took my set from the apps and never replaced). The scallops were the other entree that were ordered. The scallops were not 'raw' per se, but were definitely undercooked. All in all, it was average. We paid too much for the food we got, average service (other than the female manager), and 2 undercooked items. You really can find much better places in worcester to eat IMO.

I always wonder, when I read a bad review about a great restaurant....... The menu is outstanding, the waiter (Mark) is the best waiter I have ever had. The food was outstanding. (try the beef tenderloin!!!). In fact, we are going there again tonight with a couple who has never been there. Ritual is now my favorite (non-Italian) restaurant in Worcester!!

Let's start with the mediocre. The service. Took over 5 minutes for someone to stop over and offer water. Another 5 for the waiter to make his way over. No mint so no mojito for my wife. Also no hot rock or edamame that night. We ordered the bacon and blue cheese dip and the duck confit for appetizers. Awesome. Absolutely awesome. The dip was rich and creamy. Flavor was spot on. The confit was rich without being oily or greasy. The barbecue sauce on it was unexpected but excellent. I had the yellow fin tuna steak. Nice sear on the outside, perfect rare on the inside. Had some kind of wasabi aioli or creme fraiche. It was great. Rice and veggies were fine. Nothing special. Overall a very good dish. My wife had the scallops and ravioli. I had some scallop and they were cooked perfectly. She said they were a bit lemony. Ambiance was fine. We were at the first table on the right and they didn't block the entrance off at all so there was a definite draft but I'd assume the other tables are much better. Definitely will be going back.

Excellent food, professional service, great wine list, comfortable seating. Doesn't get any better than that for us. Do not miss the molten lava cake which is like no lava cake we have ever had. Light, airy and not too sweet. Wildly good. The tuna ceviche is amazing. My husband loved the lamb lollypops and mopped up the sauce. He also loved the duck breast (served with the lava cake!). The pork tenderloin with gnocchi was so so good and a lot of food. The gnocchi is filled and relatively light - not your typical chunk of potato. If you like red wines, try the malbec. Very good. We went on a Groupon. I believe that they changed the fare recently because they are no longer serving Mediterranean although a couple of the dishes on the menu could be described as such.

My birthday night celebration started with a great tapas style meal at Ritual in Worcester. With parking a constant problem on Main Street the idea of free valet was a wise choice. The environment was upscale and an eclectic mix of people and decore. It had a great bar in the center of the room and was flanked by generously sized tables. The front windows opened accordian style up to provide a nice airy feel while maintaining the rich and intimate appeal of the darker interior with walls flanked by large wooden doors and greek and indian artifacts. As a group we decided to order a bunch of tasty appetizers and some great drinks instead of ordering individual entrees. I will review each of the appetizers. Drinks: In addition to all the appetizers we also had some great drinks. We all started off with a French 75. It was a mix of Tanqueray Gin, Cointreau, Champagne, Peychaud's Bitters, Orange Bitters, Lemon Juice and a Twist. It was excellent but at $12 it was a bit on the steep side price wise. We also tried the Blueberry Field. It was a mix between Stoli Bluberi, Triple Sec, Gourmet Basil Syrup, Blueberry puree, White Cranberry Juice. At $9 it was a perfect drink to enjoy. It was ligh but rich tasty and sweet with a little bit of tang. It was definitely my favorite. Spanakopita: They were light and tasty and not overly seasoned. They were the perfect mix. The ingredients were very fresh and they were cooked until golden brown. Domaldes: Like the spanakopita the great leaves were very fresh and light the mix of rice to beef was perfect and it literally melted in my mouth. Grape leaves are an acquired taste and were not loved by everyone. However as a person who enjoys them these ranked high. Chocolate Bacon: This isn't anything I have ever had before. It was interesting and a good plate to share amongst a group of friends. I don't think I would or could have eaten it by myself. It was a very rich chocolate and a perfectly cooked piece of bacon. Definitely an explosion of unique flavors all perfectly matched for a rich tasty treat. Kobe Sliders: These were by far the best treat of the night. Each order came with two Kobe Beef Sliders. They were so juicy and tasty that they were a bit messy to eat. The burgers were cooked perfectly to order and the smell was intoxicating. I couldn't wait to sink my teeth into them. They were so good everyone had to have one and it resulted in two more orders being placed immediately. The gorgonzola and roasted red peppers complimented the flavors of the beef and the accompanying biscuit bun. A definite order again appetizer. I can see myself going for just them and a cocktail. Party of Screwers: This was my least favorite appetizer. They were tasty and well thought out. However, compared to the other rich and tasty appetizers whose portion sizes were significant these were definitely on the small side and left me a little dissappointed. Truffle Frites: I am a hugh fan of anything truffle oil and had to try the truffle fries. They were very good but as noted by the others a little on the soggy side. I would have liked to have seen them baked and presented on a plate rather then sitting in truffle oil in a basket. With that said they didn't last long and were quickly eaten.

We used a Groupon and it was good. They even had the same pillows as we do at home from Walmart! They have a small parking lot and there is plenty of on-street parking. We arrived a few minutes early and were seated right away. We ordered the scallops with cheddar, bacon ravioli and the crusty crab seafood pizza. The scallops were amazing! So good. The seafood pizza? Greasy, cheddar cheese, very little seafood and a huge disappointment. They do not have bread or anything. The waitress said "we give nothing away for free". So if you are starved order an appetizer since it will be a half hour or so before you see food.

Came here for lunch. The Asian decor did not match the type of cuisine they offer which is Mediterranean. I was confused by whoever came up with the design concept. There were Asian buddha statues and an old fashioned Chinese wooden door with knob handles. Perhaps, they wanted the place to look trendy? Eclectic? Anyways, enough about the decor. Poseidon Chowder: sort of like lobster bisque but with an assortment of seafood chunks, tasty The Medusa (hanger steak sanwich): the meat was not seasoned with salt or pepper, had to request salt and pepper, it was ok, liked the onion strings that it came with, tasted better the next day as microwaved leftovers : ) Porcini Mushrooms Pasta: tasted plain and sour, not a fan of sour tasting food, wouldn't recommend it Constructive Critism: Please include herbs in your food! It adds more flavor, and makes food taste much fresher. Your dishes didn't have any herbs. If you just add scallions, parsley, basil, cilantro, rosemary, etc it would make a world of a difference Will come back and give them one more chance to impress me with their food.

Ehh, I was excited about this place and disappointed. Went with a few friends on a Friday night and service was very slow despite the place being 1/2 empty. Appetizer was ok, but we waited forever for it. Tenderloin was pretty good but you can find much better for the price. The kicker was one of our meals was brought our wrong but rather than admit the mistake, the server argued that it was the right thing until we pointed it out a 2nd time. Long story short, we got a free dessert out of it, but I won't come back. Wine was good but for $34 a bottle, you can get wine anywhere.

Chris and gang are the bomb! This was my first visit to Ritual and I will definitely be going back! We called to arrange a graduation luncheon and Chris opened early for us. First really awesome thing. We have a number of food issues - GF, nut allergies, vegan, no pork - and they were fabulous about making sure that our needs were met. Chris helped select a menu for the event based on the dinner menu and everything that I could eat (I'm the GF person) was fabulous! The waitstaff was great and the experience and cost for a party of 18 was perfect! I see that others have had a less than excellent experience and I can't speak for a typical night but I would absolutely go back and eat here again. I travel a lot for work and experience many types of restaurants and this is in my top tier for style, quality, service, GF sensitivity, cost. :-)

It's restaurant week and we can't wait to sample the food! My friends and I checked out the menu out online beforehand. The website was good and showed the dishes they are serving this week. We had the tiger sushi rolls for appetizers. The crunchy tempura crust was delicious! Just the right crispiness and rich flavors. Not too greasy to the tummy and not too hot for the lips. I then tried the Cioppino, which I thought was decent though not the best. The meaty taste was there and the flavor profile was good. My buddy had the breaded chicken with mozzarella which was yummy. We capped it off with the bread pudding which my friends said is 'to die for'. I agreed. The dessert was fabulous. In summary, I had a great dining experience. For 25 bucks, this is a great deal to sample good food. NOTE: I've been to Ritual several times and I always leave happy. This one of the better restaurants in Worcester. It's chic and close to the city center. The quality of food is consistently tasty and, IMO, on par with some of the good Boston restaurants. The noise can be insanely loud at times and it would be difficult to hold a conversation. Also, the service can be slow at times. But, this place is also a vibrant bar scene. It's not too much different than many places in Boston. I definitely recommend trying this place out. I will come back again to try the braised short ribs. I would also recommend the Kobe sliders to anyone to try (it's only on the regular menu).

I went here on a Friday night and it was the usual loud and crowded scene which I usually don't like, but I was willing to live with it. HOWEVER...the bartender (a silver-haired young man) was insanely rude. First, I ordered a glass of water. He looked at me like I was insane, and walked away. Excuse me if I want to stay hydrated while I drink. Next, I ordered a shot of 151 Rum because my friends had never tried it and we were going to split it. His response? "We haven't carried that since high school, when that was cool to drink." A pleasant, "Sorry, we don't carry that anymore" would have been sufficient. Needless to say, I left. Why pay $10 for a martini that I could make at home while being insulted by some guy trying to be cool and snarky but coming off as a jerk. I'll never go here again.

Went in to use a Groupon and try another restaurant in the area. We were seated quickly but, toward the back of the room-with the serving area, kitchen and rest rooms right there-very noisy and distracting while tables were empty near the front of the room. The waitress came right over, before we sat down to take drink orders-we opted to wait until we viewed the menu. She explained how to use the groupon and told us "this is the last night to use it, in a very annoyed tone. (Actually the purchase value is still good.) We ordered-both us wanted to try the pizza but, even though it would have saved the restaurant money, as the maximum value was $52.85 for 2 entrees and an appetizer-we had to review the soiled menus again and select another option. It took over 20 minutes to get our appetizer but, the mini lamb chops were fantastic. Our meals took another 10 minutes and the server tried to first deliver them to the table beside us, but, the pasta with bacon, cream sauce and broccoli was great. My guest had the scallops and ravioli and loved it as well. We really could have used some bread with the wait (thinking crusty italian bread). The food was delicious and filling-no room for dessert! When it was time for the bill we were delivered the bill for those next to us. I almost choked as they cleaned the table beside us-ammonia smell was overwhelming. I really like to use the Groupon to try out new places but, we won't be back to this one, not comfortable with the rude service, poor service and the cleanliness and mistakes.

Came up to visit from Atlanta and after walking in I can easily see this place in Midtown, a part of the city that is trendy. The pesto Pizza I had was not only beautiful but extremely tasty. I also had the Caesar salad. I prefer not to have anchovies on my caesar but that is how upscale places serve it. I am a little biased because I have seen this place change faces from the days of Walshy's so for WORCESTER I give it 5 stars. Worcester desperately needed some downtown help and this place is great start. Maybe someday downtown will become vibrant and classy.

Wasn't really sure what to expect given its modest exterior, but was really impressed with the atmosphere upon walking in. The place has a relaxing but upscale lounge vibe with mood lighting and a zen feel. Service was great, and the wine/drink list had a great selection so we were pleased. The most impressive part of our Ritual experience was the food. We had the beef tenderloin and sea bass, and both were above and beyond. We were comparing it to some of the more pricey restaurants in/near Boston. Will definitely be returning soon!!!

I noticed my review was removed from this sight. I'm not sure how that happens, but I'm considering never visiting this sight again because of this action. I have a right to my opinion, even if roid rage MM disagrees. I stand by my last post. I've been to Ritual at least 10 times, now. I've even been there during concert nights. I've had amazing service, delicious food, and wonderful drinks. I wish the Ritual crew all the best! PS. I AM NOT AN OWNER, related to the owners, or basing my review on my personal opinion of anyone whom works there. Mind your own business MM! I'm just simply new to YELP. Good Luck to you all at Ritual.

Worcester. City of many disappointments. But once in a while you find a place that you expect is going to be bad.. because really, how can all the hype be true? But it ends up on your top favs list. Ritual is located perfectly close to my haunt, Cigar Masters on Commercial and is a nice place for dinner downtown... which may just be unheard of in Worcester. I've only actually been to Ritual on special occasions, and only recently so I can only speak of it from a standpoint of expecting the best. (For Worcester's standards that is) New Years Eve there was a beautiful Prix fixe Menu that our party enjoyed but, since have changed their menu to more refreshing options with serious Mediterranean,/ Eastern European influences. I found this out , actually prior to a Valentines day dinner, because I had emailed the restaurant via their website to ind out if they had a prix fixe menu and within an hour was provided the new updated menu. (Brownie points for customer service) You will find familiar titles on the menu and dishes that you wont have trouble pronouncing the names of, but out of the ordinary ingredients will appear. Grape leaves, chocolate bacon and dodoni Feta with Shrimp, are things that jumped out at me when I browsed the menu. GET THE CALAMARI!!!! For that, there are no words. For valentines dinner I had a Fillet wrapped in bacon, accompanied by your everyday garlic mash and what Ritual calls a vegetable orgy. Its a nice slaw of carrots and other root veggies, buttered and it comes with a bunch of their other dishes. My beau had a supposedly mouthwatering pork tenderloin, that may have also included being wrapped in bacon (loves). The drink menu here is not lengthy but has good choices. I never see Moscow Mules on any drink menu west of 95 so it was a nice surprise! And I ordered several of them. Nice selection of flavored vodkas and the beers on tap are all good with food. I don't really go here for the night scene, as the aforementioned Cigar masters is so close, but from what I hear its an older crowd. I really like the decor in this place, and ladies, the bathroom is NICE here. (Also a rarity in good ol Worcester) But the reason this place doesn't get a 5 star review is it makes me miss a another place that looked and felt the same, (See La Boheme review) and the nostalgia just killed me. Its definitely a romantic setting fit for dinner for 2. If you are going in a group, go in couples. This really doesn't feel like the singles scene. I love Ritual so far, I can't wait to try more stuff on the menu.

Greek Fusion with a Lounge Flair. Drinks are as heavenly as the Chocolate Duck and Kobe Beef Burgers!

Great decor, nice drinks, slow service Did not have the things I wanted on the menu Entrees were brought even before we had finished appetizers Everytime I wanted water I had to ask Food was decent but that alone might not bring me back to this nice restaurant.

Good food. Decent drinks. But the staff can't handle a rush. We had a 6:00pm reservation on a Tuesday night and they couldn't hold our party of four a table due to poor planning. Waited 20 minutes for a drink at the bar and 20 minutes at our table for our waitress to return with our drinks. Granted Bob Seger was at the DCU, but competent management should have anticipated the drawing power of the Silver Bullet Band in the heart of central Massachusetts. As a bartender for the Worcester Restaurant Group, I can understand how crazy it can get when you're overbooked and understaffed, but ritual not only dropped the ball, but then overthrew it into the stands and lit the ballpark on fire. So all in all, if you're looking for good food and decent drinks, come to Via Italian table... If you want to watch a lady bartender try and figure out what a manhattan is, go to Ritual, because she's probably still trying to figure it out...

Delicious food! I had the scallops with potato bacon ravioli. They have awesome drinks specials. You need a reservation on the weekends. Also valet parking is free! That's awesome cuz there isn't much parking in that area. Our waitress was a little slow in between taking orders bringing drinks and food but it was very busy in there.

First time here was for a Valentines Day dinner. We came early to have a drink at the bar and our table was already ready but we still had a drink first at the bar. We both ordered specialty drinks (moscow mule and the cucumbertini) both drinks were AWESOME. The bartenders were also quick and friendly. When we were ready to sit, our table was already ready. Our dinners were awesome as well, I ordered the filet mignon and it was one of the best meals I have ever had. Cooked perfectly and served with delicious mashed potatoes and thinly sliced vegetables. My husband order the duck seared duck breast. He loved his meal as well. Atmosphere was super cool too. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the service. Although I understand it was valentines day and I'm sure they had a lot of reservations, we felt very rushed to order and get out. As soon as we sat we were rushed into dinner, and finally just gave in and ordered because we were asked so many times. Regardless, we will be back because we want to try the pizzas!

I came here during restaurant week awhile back.. That was my first and last time there. This place is so dark, a very "ritual-like" atmosphere.. which made it hard to even read the menu! The food took SUPER long, and although our waitress was nice.. we barely saw her throughout the night. It wasn't busy that day either. I was hoping that the food would be well worth the long wait, as I was super super hungry that day. Turned out, it wasn't. I was highly disappointed. The Poseidon Chowder was probably the close-to-satisfactional food that I enjoyed. Yes, it had flavor, but it was so liquidy.. like melted icecream liquidy. My bf ordered Seared-Duck Breast, and I ordered the Carbonara. Overall, the food did not win me over.

Went on a Friday night and had an 8PM reservation. The restaurant was busy but not overly crowded. We waited 30 minutes for a table to open up. The manager did buy a round of drink around the 20 minute mark. PRO's -The martini's are mixed well and they offer a nice selection. -The food is fresh and prepared well. We split the Caesar salad and Tuna Ceviche. Wife had surf and turf and they prepared the steak to the correct temperature . I had the Crusty Crab pizza and was blown away w/ the amount of crab. CON's -Expect to pay Boston prices for drinks and entrees -Service can be downright slow. After the rush was over, the wait staff was hard to get a hold of. I'd go back for the food but only if I didn't have to be anywhere and prepared for a long, leisurely dinner. Would definitely try to get there early to avoid the rush and check who's playing. Bonus to the Mgmt for recognizing the long wait for a table and picking up a round.

Wow! I never thought Main Street would have such a high class bar! The house martinis are amazing with super cute names. I absolutely love the chocolate covered bacon! I highly recommend this place for a date. When you're in there check out the beautiful artwork as well. Whoever designed this place did a great job!

First time visiters. Found the service friendly and prompt always topping off our drinks. Had the Posiden chawda which was packed full of seafood and nice and creamy. Had the surf &turf. Perfect piece of tenderlion on a bed of mashed with couple scallops and shrimp. Would definitly return.

It would have been the perfect night except for our experience in this so called food establishment. We were waiting in line to start and a young lady attempting to look stylish in New York Glasses (in Worcester) said rudely This line is for reservations only; and started to seat the couple behind us when I said Excuse me we do have reservations she stated oh well "why did you not say so...i would have walked out but getting a bite to eat with a concert going on would have been impossible. I had pasta that was soggy and overcooked, my wife had chicken that was dry. the only good thing was the espresso but that does not make it worth going back..stay away stay far away. Edit to MM above mind your own business the establishment is horrible; deal with it ...You should value my reviews because they are honest, I call them as I see them and in this economy it is my duty to make sure customers know what they are getting if I enter an establishment...

Absolutely delicious food.. However horrible service (besides Mark he's amazing) .....host had no idea what was going on and our server took forever to come to the table and only came to us to take our order and give us the bill. If it weren't for the food I'd never go back

I tried Ritual again last night. It was a slow night and we sat at the bar. The drinks were great and the bartenders were really nice. The food again was just ok. We started with the spanakopita. It was pretty good, but a fairly small portion. I got the pesto chicken pizza after hearing good things about the pizza. It was so charred on the bottom and sides that most was inedible. So the amount of pizza I actually got for the price was not worth it. I'll go back for drinks but probably not for food at this point.

We came for dinner last night, thanks to a LivingSocial coupon, and had a great time! Personally, I thought the atmosphere was great. There were a couple of groups there, including a ladies-night-out group of at least a dozen at the next table, and I was impressed that the noise wasn't too terrible. Our reservation was at 9p, so that might have had something to do with it, but it WAS Friday, so it was nice to be able to sit in the bar area and not have it be total insanity. Our waitress was attentive and helpful; she had a suggestion for my glass of wine which turned out to be delicious, and she was easy to locate, which is nice. And she was non-obtrusive into our all-too-rare date night, which is also a plus. We had the Poseidon Chowder, which was fantastically good. I had seared scallops with lobster ravioli in black truffle butter sauce, which was delicious. Husband had duck with cocoa and hazelnut crust, which came with a tiny chocolate souffle, also yummy and not overpoweringly chocolatey. We did save room for dessert - white chocolate bread pudding, which I would definitely not complain about eating again. I would definitely eat here again, or come for drinks, because the appetizers looked great but I knew I would end up eating too much if we ordered one. And the martini list was intriguing, so maybe next time I'll have one of those. There were other things on the entree list that looked interesting enough to make me come back again, too. I definitely recommend.

I was looking forward to trying a new Worcester restaurant and a unique menu. Boy was I disappointed!!! The service was terrible...45 minutes to bring out a cup of soup??? And the soup wasn't that good! We ordered some tapas for the table and barely touched it. The food was cold and sounded much better than it tasted. When we mentioned the slow service, instead of apologizing, the waitress became defensive and rude. We won't be returning.

Went out for dinner at Ritual on a slow Tuesday night to use up a soon to expire groupon, and came away with an overall very good experience. We vacillated between stuffed dates and the chocolate covered bacon for a starter, and decided to go for the dates, leaving the bacon for another night. Four dates came stuffed with manchego bacon and almonds, with a kind of reduction drizzled on the plate. They were very solid, with good flavors, and as far as I can tell, Ritual is the only place the serves stuffed dates in the area. Entree for the girl was cocoa rubbed duck breast, and I went with the rack of lamb. Both plates arrived with cold mashed potatos and vegetable medley, and the meat a little cool(although both were done to our wants, medium rare for the lamb, medium for the duck) upon checking in the waitress immediately took our plates back to the kitchen, and returned with warmed sides(they also rearranged our proteins, as we had already begun eating. Ritual may have some of the prettiest plated food in the city). My lamb was excellent, very well seasoned, with a wine reduction. The advertised honey/almond crust was understated, but all in all a very very tasty bite. The girl's duck was also well seasoned, with a hazelnut cocoa sauce served alongside the meat. Very tasty but unfortunately did not have the crispy skin that makes the difference between good duck and great duck. For dessert we went with the fried cheesecake, which ended up being gratis to make up for the initially cold plates. It was also very good, and the raspberry and chocolate sauces underneath were delicious. Service was very attentive and friendly, and responded correctly to our situation when we brought it to their attention. We did not have any alcohol, but plan a booze and apps visit next time. I feel like the prices are a little high...not exorbitantly so for good product, but possibly just by 10% or so. The decoration is nice, and I counted representations from at least 3 religions on the walls. It seems like the restaurant is trying to figure out what it is, and if they are able to stick around, I think that the food, which is already at a high level, will get even better.

New bar and restaurant in Worcester. Food and drinks are great. Menu includese $5 and $7 mixed drinks, and some unique appetizers. Entrees are pricey but good. I've only had BBQ Chicken Pizza but was good. Service - first time, really good. Second time, was okay. Slower service (it wasn't that busy) but friendly service.

Great new spot in Worcester. The atmosphere is nice, very different from the normal Worcester restaurant. It's dark but warm, and has a bar right in the center of the place that makes it very lively. The service was excellent. When we went, I was so hungry that the waitress was nice enough to bring me free pita bread which wasn't even on the menu. It was much appreciated! I had the Statler Chicken and it was good overall, the chicken was a bit dry. However, this place is known for it's Greek flair, so maybe I made the wrong choice. My boyfriend had the Chicken Marsala and he said it was excellent. If you go, definitely get their mixed drink with Pinnacle Whipped Cream. I forget the name of it but it has Pineapple and grenadine in it. It was amazing!

I moved to Massachusetts about a year ago for a job and have been teaching at a college in Worcester since January. The area really hasn't impressed me at all, but this place along with a couple of other places on Main St. are definitely my go-to places for food and drinks and this place will probably become one of them. One of my colleagues had suggested this place to me and I went here last Friday for lunch as an end to a week-long orientation for the new faculty members and was pleasantly surprised to be in a place that had a nice ambiance and food selection. There were about 10 of us and we were seated right away because it was lunch hour, and I'm guessing this place is more poppin' at night. There was a good selection of hot and cold "sandwitches" and pizzas. The pizzas were a good size, and should probably have been split between at least two people, and the sandwitches were delicious...I had "The Exotic" which was one of their lamb sandwitches. Our food was a little slow in coming out but the waiter apologized saying it was just busier than usual for lunch time. I did have to ask for the drink menu, but then again, it was 12:30 in the afternoon on a school day, so maybe that was a little odd? Haha! Their drink menu included wines, cocktails and $5 martinis!!! I had something called "XRated" which was on the fruitier side, and the lycheetini at the waiter's suggestion, which was much stronger than I anticipated, but still very good. You can't beat a $5 martini! Food was great, and service overall was really good. Though I might be slightly biased because I thought the waiter was really cute! I'm actually planning on going back here in a couple days for a lunch meeting, and my other colleagues want to come back in a couple weeks to celebrate the end of the semester. I'm looking forward to trying the other things on the menu!

The Bartender D.
I've been to ritual a couple of times and the service is really hit or miss. Best service ever from Melissa the bartender- hands down. Sometimes with other servers/bartenders the service is slower and the drinks not as good. When I first started going there I loved it, most of the food I have had there is very good and we were so happy with how much food we got for the money. However, every time I go back the prices are raised (and not only a little either). The martini list which used to feature a bunch of $5 martinis now only has 3, the rest have been increased to $8 or $10. Some of the portions have also shrunk. The Poseidon chowder (which is delicious!!) has shrunk in size by half. Overall, I do really enjoy the food, most of it is VERY rich and well done, however I now have one martini instead of 2 (or 3!) and try to go when I know I'll get good service (Melissa bartends Wed. night!)

This place gets 4.5 stars! The service is great...kitchen may be a little slow but didn't care because we wanted to enjoy a night out and was not in a rush. The Poseidon chowder is what made us go back for a second time and will make us go back again!! SO GOOD. Best seafood chowder I have ever had. Apps are all great esp the one with the tuna and BEST EVER lamb lollipops. Main dish was excellent too!! The maltan lava cake was AMAZING!!! Go here, excellent!!!!!

Lunch yesterday....got there a little early so got to sit right in the big open window spot (unfortunately it was a little too cool for them so they got closed)....big and dark and red is the feeling, very attractive, drinks were good (my dirty martini wasn't) and food very interesting, I had to try some of the different apps they offered so we had bacon with chocolate and pistachios (yummy) and a cheese-steak dip (very good...I had the burger which was excellent, cooked as I asked and with whatever toppings you want (bacon and blue cheese) wife had the medusa, a sort of steak and cheese sandwich, very good, waiter was pleasant and they even put a bottle of water on your table. nice experience!

As a local, lifelong Worcesterite, I can't tell you how happy I am to have Ritual in our communty. I have been twice already, their formal opening was last weekend. The decor is definitely unexpected, especially because there are no clues on the outside of the building. Everything from Greek to Indian artifacts, with large wooden doors and great lighting that transport. This is the perfect place to meet friends at the bar or have an intimate date. Great for groups too. The prices are very reasonable. Unique and delicious sandwiches for 7! OK, the food: The appetizer list is amazing and the food was delicious. In fact, one of the guys ordered kobe sliders, the others saw it and they all ordered them. I have not had a formal dinner there, but I have tried an array of apps and pizza... each one was better than the last. Try the Ritual Trilogy, seafood cooked to perfection, the Souvlaki that just melts in your mouth, of course the homemade Dolmades and Spanikopita. I have been thinking about the Trilogy since the last time I had it. You know when that happens you have tasted something special. One of the chefs came out to our table to introduce herself and to get our feedback. That is a class act. The restaurant has just formally opened this week. Both times I was there it was packed. People are pleased. Ritual where have you been? Word of mouth is the best advertiser and I can tell you, the word is out! I am so excited to have you right downtown. Worcester has been tough for parking (a great sign that life is coming back to town), so use the valet. They have an open store front, so come warm weather, there will be a fight for the sunny seats you can be sure. For a new place just getting started, you may have thought they had been there for a while. The only small tid bit was that I waited a little for a drink at the bar. I am of the school that if someone sits at the bar, they should have a cocktail in their hand just as fast. I can overlook this because the doors just opened and they were to capacity! I can't wait to go back again. Just bought 2 coupons from Groupon, announced today. 287 sold in a few hours. If there are any kinks to work out, these guys have it covered. I was impressed. They have just upped the foodie experience, Worcester! In this town known for great restaurants, that is quite an accomplishment. groupon.com/worcester

We went to Ritual before heading to the Hannover Theater to see Mary Poppins. All our meals were delicious...but the stand out was the Lamb Rack! We live in Wrentham but would definitely take the ride back to Worcester to eat at Ritual. Service: Our waiter Mark was the best! He took care of all our needs and we had a lot of fun with him. Don't miss out on this hidden gem on Worcester Main St.

EDIT: I have a suspicion that the only real reviews on this place are mine and Bill's. The other people just joined in March (when this restaurant opened) and have exactly 1-2 reviews each (to make them appear legit)....just saying. Owners should not be posting their own reviews.***Subtracting one star for that**** EDIT 2: I flagged those other reviews, and 3 have been filtered due to questionable sources. Exactly. Very good new restaurant in Worcester. Nicely done. This is exactly the type of establishment DT Worcester needs. I sure hope it survives..DT Worcester is a bit tough on businesses. This place has very nice higher class and ancient greek themed (decor) restaurant. Pretty interesting actually. The Food is good, and seems to be very promising. I am going to share this will my coworkers. To Bill below.. you were there on the night of Elton John (me too)..what do you expect? Every restaurant was packed to the hilt. I was across the street at the Irish Times and couldn't even get served. Had to walk 5 blocks from here to find something that wasn't absolutely crazy. Your review seems unfair and a little spiteful . I don't value it at all. I found out today, it's only been open for about three weeks too. I have asked her to provide me for paper menus to bring to work. I may use them for catering some meetings. They didn't even have paper menus printed yet. So as a first impression..pretty darn nice. Looking forward to their growth.

I think the overall rating of 3-1/2 stars is accurate. Wife and I went on a Thursday night at 6. No wait and not really busy. We were seated right away and asked what we wanted to drink right away. The inside is decorated really nice. The drink menu is really good. About 8 different $5 martini's. I have the xrated which was very good. We got the calamari for an app. It was just okay. Our meals were very good. I got the sliced beef tenderloin with homemade fries and Gorgonzola potato cake. ($18.95) My wife got the stuffed samon with grilled veggies and risotto of the day which was tomato) We got the while chocolate bread pudding for desert. Jut okay. Total bill wsa $90 for 1 app, 2 dinners, 1 dessert and 7 $5 marrtinis Decor - 5/5 Drinks - 5/5 Apps - 3/5 Dinner - 4/5 Deserts - 2/5 Service - 3/5

Happened upon ritual on my home from a family trip. I told the waitress that we were vegetarians and the next thing I knew the chef was sitting at our table taking our order himself. He was enthusiastic about creating a vegetarian dinner for me and my family that included one of the best risotto dishes I've ever tasted. Our meal was exceptionally good and we will definitely be stopping back.

I'm very surprised at the low reviews. In scanning the reviews, I can identify with service not being great, but it's not bad either. She was busy and covering an area larger than she should have been, so while we did have to wait a bit, it wasn't bad at all. The food more than made up for it -- I love trying exciting new ideas and food combinations and Ritual was a great experience. I came in very skeptical of the chocolate-covered bacon but wow, it's perfect! For dinner, I received the stuffed filet of sole, which was good, but I wouldn't say it separated itself from any of the other stuffed sole (of which I've ordered my fair amount). But the fish and stuffing were light and made of quality. My wife ordered the chicken veronique, and oh my god, I really wish I had ordered that too. She slurped it up immediately and I kept grabbing bites of it. It was fantastic. I intend to return to see what else this menu has.

drinks great, but pricey service, um, i'm trying to be understanding b/c nickelback was playing, but we had 430 reservations. our table was def. ready when we needed it. our friends sat at bar longer, b/c i was running late. orders toga party dip, which was fantastic, nice assortment or dill, hummous, beet spread, pita chips, olives, sundried tomatoes, crostini, i would def order this again!!!! lobster rangoon, were meh, just not good. our friend ordered the choc. bacon, he ate all 4 pieces so it must have been tasty, no one else at the table ventured to try it. i had salmon which was flavorless :( i ate two bites and didn't finish it, the waitress didn't even ask if something was wrong with my place of food in front in me, not eaten. i didn't complain, b/c i ate good amount of apptz. he had the crusty crab pizza, which was delicious my friend had the stuffed sole which she enjoyed. can't remember the other entree that our friend ordered, but he was also happy. at least three times, a "helper/server" came to our table with the wrong drink, the wrong entree, and put it down in front of my friend, and then picked it up and gave it to the table next to us...i would have been annoyed if that was my dish and they put it on someone elses table then took it back and dropped it off to the person sitting next to me... had a hard time keeping up with our drinks, granted it was a busy night, but they should staff for concerts at the dcu center, seems like common sense to me... would i go back, yes, but i wouldn't drive out of my way to return.

I had read the reviews of this place before I bought the groupon that they offered, so I had low expectations. The groupon was a great deal ($25 for one appetizer and two entrees) so I got it. After eating here I had to write a review because I thought the food was fantastic and the service was fine. It did take slightly long for us to get out second drinks, but nothing that I would really complain about. We got the crab cakes (really good), sliced beef tenderloin, with gorgonzola potato cake (amazing.. cooked perfectly), and the seared jumbo sea scallops with lobster ravioli (really good but didn't top the sirloin). We came pretty late, about 9:30, and I wasn't really hungry so my boyfriend ended up eating most of the food, and he was in heaven. Pretty expensive for us, so I think we will only be returning for special occasions, but it's really good food! The atmosphere is dark.. my boyfriend said it reminded him of Fangtasia on Trueblood. and they were playing goo goo dolls and lifehouse, but even that couldn't stop us from wanting to eat here again. If they do another groupon I will definitely grab it, and we'd go here for a birthday or anniversary dinner.

I was there for an event, and the group that I was with had maybe 30 people. We had mostly apps, but they were amazing. The chocolate-covered bacon was strangely delicious. All of the food had interesting, but well-balanced flavors. I had similar experiences as other reviewers with regards to service (you're not doing me a favor making me a drink, dude, I'm paying you money) as well as ambience (I was yelling at the top of my lungs at 6:30 on a Tuesday and still not being able to have a conversation with the person with me.) You definitely come here for the food.

I've wanted to try Ritual for quite awhile since I had seen the menu online and thought it looked really good. We bought the Groupon, which meant they essentially took off $52.00 from the final bill. I made reservations for 6:30 on a Friday night which were not necessary as when we arrived, the place had about 8 people (though it did pick up around 7:30 or so). We asked to be sat at a table with banquette seating on one side and chairs on the other. Unfortunately, the hostess sat us near the end of the bar area where all the servers were standing around talking because there were no customers yet. This was distracting for me but my husband didn't mind. In agreement with some other reviewers, our server wasn't very good. We told her right away that we were going to take our time to order each course (after we finish app, then we'll order soup/salad, once that's done then we'll order entree, etc.). She didn't seem to get this and as we just started our app, she asked what we wanted for dinner. My husband repeated what we wanted to do so I think after we told her a second time, she got it. Honestly, I think she was bored and just wanted something to do. She never introduced herself, asked us if we had even been there, etc. She rarely smiled. She just want not very personable, which was disappointing for us. The food runner was more pleasant than her. As for the food, we enjoyed it and I thought it was enough to bring us back. We started with the bacon & blue cheese dip. Nice chunks of bacon and pieces of blue cheese, creamy, and warm. Served with toast points and awesome pita bread. Then, my husband had the beet salad, which was not what we thought it would be....no greens, just stacked beets with goat cheese, balsamic vinegar, etc. He very much enjoyed it. I had the "famous" onion soup which I thought was excellent. Yes, it does have some sweetness to it due to the Vidalia onions being caramelized but there is some sherry in there too that offsets the sweetness and it had a rich beefy flavor. It had much more depth to it than a standard onion soup. I would definitely get it again. For entrees, hubby ordered the crusty crab pizza which had great flavor but he was disappointed that the crust was a bit soggy and not strong enough to hold the amount of toppings. He couldn't pick up slices and eat like a regular pizza, he had to use a fork. I ordered the beef short ribs which were quite good. It was served with a polenta cake that seemed a bit gummy but it wasn't enough to destroy the dish. The meat just fell off the bone and the sauce it had been roasted in was delicious. Overall, a pleasant visit. I think we would return and sit at the bar and/or come at a later time in the evening when the servers weren't as bored and pushy to get you to order.

Not a fan, I've only had lunch, but I found the salads to be just so-so, the chili was very good but the lack of luncheon entrees is a problem.

Outstanding evening at Rituals. We loved the feel of this place-vibrant and fun. We will definitely dine there again. The hazelnut crusted rack of lamb was amazing and the stuffed sole (shrimp and scallops) was to die for. Martini's we ordered were delicious. Service was well-timed and friendly. Loved the hand rub in the bathroom, nice touch!

I and several others went to Ritual recently for dinner to discuss some business. I was initially skeptical, as from what I understand, this is a fairly new establishment, and I was unsure of exactly what type of restaurant this was. It's Restaurant Week in Worcester, so we all figured we'd try their prixe-fixe three-course offering for $23.11. I started off with the gazpacho; it was quite good and was a reasonable portion, although I must say I'm a particularly big creme-fraiche fan. For the second course, I had the chocolate bacon. Yes, it sounds weird, but it wasn't at all disgusting. However, there was far more chocolate than bacon, and the chocolate was the only thing I could really taste. For the main course, I had the Petit Medusa, a petit filet mignon with caramelized onions and a variety of vegeatables. Despite the small portion (this seems to be a recurring theme here), the filet mignon was cooked to perfection and it was excellent. For dessert (not included, of course), I had the chocolate lava cake, with caramel and chocolate filling and vanilla gelato. This was, by far, the highlight of the meal. A bit pricey for sure, but the food and atmosphere are certainly worth the extra expense.

The wife and I went to Ritual's for lunch today, March 29. Everything seemed fine at first. They were not very busy, but several tables were occupied. We were seated by the person we saw the most, a very polite and friendly young lady who sported an apron, and seemed to be able to do any job there. I think she buses tables, as she was not the waitress or bartender. In any event, she was the most informed person that we encountered. She spotted us at the captain's station and came over promptly to seat us. After 5 minutes or so, she came back to ask us if our server had been over yet. I said no, so she offered to take our orders for us if we were ready, which we were. (A benefit of online menus.) This was a casual lunch for us and time was not an issue. The appetizers came out within 10 minutes: Listed as "the best onion soup au gratin ever" at $7.95 is a misnomer. It was onion soup, plain and simple. Not the best, not the worst, just plain and simple. However, the fried Kalamari [sic] at $10.95 was outstanding and very tender. My wife thoroughly enjoyed the chicken Marsala at $12.95. Being a restaurant that specializes in Mediterranean cuisine, I opted for the Pastitsio [sic] at $12.95. After having that Greek dish many times at Greek festivals and making it myself for 20 years, I knew what to expect. I never tasted a pastitsio like that before. I was much too sweet, the ground meat was bland without flavoring, not even the slightest hint of nutmeg or cinnamon. I don't believe they used Romano cheese either. When the waitress came over to see how everything was (only the second time seeing her; a total of 15 seconds), I asked for some rolls with our meals. She said, "we don't do bread here." I was shocked...speechless. I have never heard of such a thing. It must be a cost-cutting measure because as soon as our dinners were served, I noticed that salt and pepper shakers were not on the table. I asked for it and it was delivered immediately. Looking around at all the tables within my view (10 plus tables), there were no salt and pepper shakers to be seen. How do I rate this place overall? The service (regardless of whom provided it, was excellent), the food was served in a very timely manner, the food was two for two. However, not offering rolls or bread for a meal seems inexcusable to me. If they served rolls, I would go back, giving it another shot and try another food item on the menu. I believe in trying places at least twice. But, since that is not the case, I'm afraid that I will not be back.

(5)Abby M.

(5)Jaime H.
(4)Yadi M.

(5)Michael H.
Service was not all that great. The food was not the best and due to that I will not return. I do not recommend this place to anyone
(1)Rachael S.
Went to dinner with a groupon---everything was excellent. The drinks were so creative and delicious, our dinner was cooked perfectly, and the staff was beyond friendly. I'm can't wait to go back again! So glad I found this restaurant...zero complaints!
(5)Jon J.
chocolate bacon...as if that's not enough reason to check this place out.
(5)Becki B.
They really need to get their act together. Bacon app arrived cold and greasy. Pork was good but lacked any recognizable vegetables. Couldn't get any service straight. Very expensive.....disappointing!
(2)Erin E.
Amazing food and service. Mark was our waiter--very attentive and personable. The filet is perfect. Came here for a groupon and we will be back again!
(5)Rhiana H.
(4)Michael S.
What a great place with great food. Stumbled upon this place and I plan on returning. Just don't hope for quiet. The food was just simply surprising. Surprising enough that we ordered 2 more entrees for "later". Well worth it, I'd recommend this to anyone with love for great food.
(4)Bob T.

(1)Pete L.
Great all around. Good local beer on tap. App was a perfect start. Entree was delicious. Service was spot on.
(4)Sam G.
(5)Gertrude S.
Weird amount of menu items unavailable, food that came out wasn't what the menu claimed it would be.
(1)Sarah S.
Outstanding food! Hands down one of the best meals I have ever had. The chocolate bacon! I dream about this now. Waitstaff incredibly friendly, we will definitely make this a stop next time!
(5)Barbara S.
(4)Katie K.
(4)Matthew H.
(5)Faith D.
(3)Brendan S.
This is one of the best places around to get great food with a good atmosphere. Not to mention the menu has one of the most eclectic mixtures of food, you could go from an Italian favorite to Great Japanese food. Not to mention mark is one of the funniest guys and such a personable waiter. By far five stars!
(5)Steve A.

(2)Marek T.
(4)David G.
(4)Madison F.
Go in and ask for Big Mark - you won't be disappointed. The food is out of this world (even during the lunch buffet - only $10!). The service? Just as good. Other restaurants in Worcester don't hold a candle to this downtown gem.
(5)Laurie K.
Christian makes the best extra dirty martinis! He even brought extra olives without a dirty look.
(4)Evelyn C.
We stumbled across this restaurant and found a gem. Wonderful service, creative food and great atmosphere. The drinks are strong and the food was very good.
(4)Tanya M.
(3)Loren S.
(4)Melissa F.
(2)R C.
Not great. They were 'out' of crab meat, lobster sub was slathered in mayo?, artichokes were canned, and lamb was steamed med rare. Dark, dank, hot (a/c issues) and sleeveless shirt guy's cologne scorched my nose hairs.
(2)A. A.
Went back last month and everything was just about as amazing as the first time. I will add that my salmon-rice dish was a bit watery and not as good as the first time. The service was fantastic and the martinis were great. We still have quite aways to go before we sample some of the interesting dishes on the menu - so we will be going back soon.
(5)William D.
(4)Matt R.
(3)Michael G.
(5)Robert J.
(4)Lisa E.

(3)Meg T.
(2)Matt S.
Very impressive. Everything was delicious. The chocolate bacon appetizer is unreal. I am returning for the second time in a month soon.
(5)Robin L.

(5)Meredith C.

(5)Queen B.
Great decor, nice drinks, slow service Did not have the things I wanted on the menu Entrees were brought even before we had finished appetizers Everytime I wanted water I had to ask Food was decent but that alone might not bring me back to this nice restaurant.
(3)Owen M.

(4)Lucy H.

(5)Derek S.

(1)Rebecca L.
Absolutely delicious food.. However horrible service (besides Mark he's amazing) .....host had no idea what was going on and our server took forever to come to the table and only came to us to take our order and give us the bill. If it weren't for the food I'd never go back
(4)Ronja S.

Overall, I do really enjoy the food, most of it is VERY rich and well done, however I now have one martini instead of 2 (or 3!) and try to go when I know I'll get good service (Melissa bartends Wed. night!)
(3)Luke D.

(4)Amy H.
(3)Stephanie H.
