Unbelievable beer menu. Absolutely top notch. Huge IPA selection. Plenty of Stout choices and everything in between. 40 Beers on tap. The onion rings and steak tips were delicious. Bar tender was very attentive and helpful.

This place fell short of my expectations. I was excited about the large tap selection, but there was not much worth getting excited about. A lot of generic, average beer really. The food was also not anything to be excited about. The burger was bland and overlooked, and the fries were too salty. The Mac and cheese was kind of average. I probably won't go back here.

I was visiting cousins who live in the area and we came here for a pre-Sharks game dinner. The buffalo jam burger was delicious and the Mediterranean salad was good but too big for one person. I can imagine this place is pretty crazy when busy and the table was a bit small for our group of 4 adults and 1 kid, but it was perfect pre-hockey game fuel. Thanks!
(4)Matthew M.
Overall, this place was pretty great. They had a large selection of beer and other drinks. We had the build your own black bean veggie patty and it was great! Not very pricey, but some other items on the menu were. They also had amazing fries.
(4)Jesse D.
This place is fairly decent but certainly nothing to write home about. I was a bit let down by their pizza and their wings which came highly recommended were not superb the couple times I had them. But I like very crispy wings so if you aren't about that life brew city may be more your speed.
(2)Gal P.
I love this place. Over the past month I've had a few meals here, and all were great. The burgers are to die for, seriously one of the best burgers I've ever had, and I've had burgers all over the country. They have a huge selection of burger toppings; the pretzel bun is awesome. I also had a pasta dish that was fantastic, and their BBQ Pulled Pork was amazing. The beer selection is insane, about 150 different ones I think, and just about every kind of beer there is. We also had some really great specialty cocktails on one of our visits too, they were great. And remember - 20% is a proper gratuity.
(5)Steve S.
attended with me son. good food. could go back when there's an opportunity
(3)William F.
I'm wavering between 3 and 4 stars. The beer selection is big, but not well curated so that kind of defeats the point of having 40 beers on tap. At the very least, you can probably find something for everyone here, but nothing that will really excite beer nerds. Brew City is basically a sports bar with slightly better food and slightly higher prices. The burgers are good, but the basic burger is already $11. The fries are just ok, not quite crisp enough for me.
(3)Ramez A.
The food is great here, I got the chicken broccolinni and my girlfriend got the steak stir fry and both dishes were fantastic. The one thing this place could do better is train their bartenders how to make eye contact with the customer and learn to be a bit more personable.
(4)Jennifer P.
Love the build your own burger! I've been here a few times for lunch during the week and it is fairly quiet. Yesterday's build your own burger was angus beef, pretzel roll, habanero jack cheese, beer braised onions, sambal aioli, and candied bacon. It was a 5 star beautiful burger! And it is messy. It is the kind of burger you don't put down until it is gone. Fun draft beer menu. I enjoyed a Jack's Abby Smoke and Dagger Nitro. Parmesan fries were good but not great.
(4)Chuck D.
To be honest I truly want to give this this place a 4 star rating just cause the people were awesome. The beer and servers were great. My friend order the Hot Mess. He loved it great blend of flavors and presentation was truly good. I ordered the Salmon special. This is where it got not so good. The waitress put in the wrong order. My food came out as the scallops. I ha to wait another 20 minutes for my dinner. When it came, the hash was great but the salmon was over cooked and dry. Again, we want to love this place and would love if this was close to home just an off night for the server. The manager stopped by and have us her card plus $5 off our next visit although we are not locals and won't use them I would have assumed a free beer or something. That never happened. Wish I could say more cause we really liked this place. Maybe just a bad night for us.
(3)Ben L.
I've stop by a number of times for MNF. Place place is pretty busy but have never had an issue getting a table in the bar area. The staff is very tentative and friendly. They have a great wing special during football games. 25 cent wings!
(4)Caitlen G.
Brew City is always worth it! The burger possibilities are endless and just delicious. The staff is always friendly and the beer menu does not disappoint!
(5)Lisa M.
My husband and I went there for our last time last night. We used to love coming here - the noise level was always high, but so was the energy. However, this place has fallen into the uber-trendy local fare menu. The place is a beer bar (hence the name), but they have strayed so far from this with their food it doesn't make much sense. We had the hushpuppies and pickles for apps - the pickles weren't bad. Then we split the pizza, which tasted burnt, and instead of sauce had what looked like stewed tomatoes on the crust. It was one of the first times I have been there when it was completely dead in the bar and restaurant. It seems like have finally alienated all their regular customers like us. Why couldn't they have done local but with pub fare, instead of going over the fancy food cliff? Not to mention, I don't eat pork or beef so the selections for that have become very slim. Disappointing that a fun neighborhood spot had to fall into this trend trap, they shouldn't have been ashamed of what they were.
(2)Cara W.
To me, Brew City is an odd place. While they have a large selection of beer, it never seems to be quite what I am in the mood for. I was there a few weeks ago, mid-summer, and the interesting-looking beers on tap were all dark, heavy, what I would prefer in fall or winter. Nothing crisp and refreshing. The menu was also kind of all over the place, rather than sticking to one thing and doing it well. I did order a Blueberry Salad, and it was good, but nothing I will rush back for. The group I was with ordered a hummus platter to share, and the hummus came with a pitiful amount of pita. What is worse, is that the waiter informed us of this, so clearly the staff realizes that this isn't a balanced amount. I don't understand why they don't reduce the amount of hummus, or provide more bread. It seems wasteful. The waiter was very kind, very accommodating to our large group.
(2)Marina G.
The food left a lot to hope for. Generic beer menu and the steak on the salad looked like it was microwaved...
(2)Andrew A.
Ordered BBQ pulled pork nachos, which I have ordered here many times years ago. They came completely covered in sour cream with no hint of BBQ sauce. (!?) So simple fix, I asked the waiter if I could get some BBQ sauce and he belittled me saying the pork was BBQ. I never received the BBQ sauce after waiting 20 min and asking repeatedly. It was 1pm on a Saturday, not even close to being able to attribute it to the crowd. I drove an hour for these and left disappointed. I don't know if it's a new menu or way of doing things, but I will not drive all that way to pay more for something I won't enjoy.
(3)Mary B.
My Lover and I stopped in for a drink after dinner and we're delighted by the selection of beers and cocktails. We were even more impressed by our server Joe (AKA Jose Rojo) and his knowledge of every beverage available. All in all, a great experience.
(5)Jamie A.
Tried to call for reservations they wouldn't take because our party was 7 and not 8. Called ahead in advance and was told no wait. Arrived and told 45 mins. Food was terrible steak over cooked, appetizer was cold, and beer was flat. Not impressed. There are many other choices near by. Avoid and move on.

Found this place on a whim while in search for craft beer as part of our trip to Wegmans. We figured that if we were going to drive that far out towards Western Mass, that we might as well make a trip out of it and try and grab some beers and lunch. We did a few quick searches on Yelp and this place came up. It seemed affordable and decently popular so off we headed out, GPS on the dashboard. Finding it was no problem and we arrived around 3PM on a Saturday afternoon, famished. We expected a near empty place because of how late it was but were pleasantly surprised to notice that quite a few people were there. The place was hoppin'. We promptly sat in a booth, menus in hand and placed our orders. I started with a flight of beers, which enables one to get five 5oz pours of beers of their choice. Each beer is priced individually which I found to be quite clever and it came in a great, custom stone tray. I was able to snag a very hard beer to find on tap which was incredible (Goose Island's Bourbon County Stout) amongst a few other ones. The selection was fantastic and exceeded my wildest of expectations. For starters, we split an order of dill fried pickle chips which turned out to be a good thing because it was the biggest order of fried pickles I've ever seen. It cost us $5 and came with a side of whole grain mustard aioli. It was delicious and was gone in just a couple of minutes. Then came my entree which was a grilled skirt steak salad ($12.59), served on a heaping mound of field greens with some blue cheese, red onions and tomatoes. The meat was packed with flavor, cooked to a perfect medium and was perfectly seasoned. It was again, very good. And while usually salads don't always fill me up, usually leaving me wanting more, this one didn't. My fiancee's cuban sandwich was great as well. All in all, a pretty good meal at less than $15 each (excluding beer). Not bad at all. The place is spacious, well lit and the staff is very friendly. The bathrooms are clean and there's also a large, private parking lot. Honestly, I'm a bit surprised by the fact that there's a few average and negative reviews are on here, I left very happy and impressed and would consider this place definitely to be above average. Plus it's one of the few places around the area that isn't a chain. I'd definitely return there for a meal in the future while in the area or in search of a cold beer.
(4)Amy M.
I really like Brew City. I don't know how long it's been there, but it seems relatively new and is clean compared to a lot of joints in this old city. The atmosphere is good with a gastropubby type feel but definitely not stuffy. They have a pretty extensive beer list, like over 100, so I was surprised that another reviewer said they never have what she's in the mood for. Their fried pickles are freakin' delicious. Staff is always really nice and friendly, though sometimes a little slow depending on who you get. Always pleasant though. Ladies bathroom is always clean, and there's also a sizable, dedicated parking lot so you don't have to pay a meter. It's a touch overpriced in my opinion, especially when you start adding things to your burger, but I think the atmosphere is worth eating/grabbing a drink here.
(4)Marc S.
We were seated quick. food was priced fairly enough selection for everyone. Service was a little on the slow side, but overall a good experience
(4)Michele M.
Sorry, just not impressed! Atmosphere is very cold and uninviting. The 1/2 portion of nachos were really good and they do have an extensive selection of beers, but based on our preference of being in a place with a cozy vibe, this one is not for us. It does however appear to be a good hangout for college students and the place was certainly busy. Although I didn't enjoy the atmosphere, the bartender was friendly and provided great service. Just not my kind of place, but it may be yours..
(2)Don W.
Been here twice and both times have been pleased. Great selection of beer, especially liked the cask-conditioned ales. Split 3 appetizers between 7 people in a matter of minutes. Pickle Chips and Onion Rings are great. Love that you can build your own burger, the Wagyu was well-cooked, very tasty. Parmesan fries are nothing but regular fries with sprinkled parmesan on it, no great shakes stick with the regular. All in all, a pretty good place. Make sure to call ahead on weekends.
(4)Scott C.
This place is a Worcester staple. I have been here twice but it had been a couple years since my first visit. The name says it all. If you are looking for a place with a great beer selection and solid food come give this a shot. The burgers are great although a little pricey. We also got nachos as an appetizer and I would recommend them to anyone, they were giant! I would also recommend staying away from your basic beers and trying one of their many craft beers on the menu. Good beer, good food, how can you go wrong? Just an FYI parking can be tricky in the area during busy times so plan accordingly.

Since my review for Brew City is from quite a long time ago, I wanted to update. We went here for an early dinner on Monday evening and both the food and the service were excellent. Our waiter's name was Joe, who we have had several times in the past, and he is just the nicest guy in the world. I asked him a few questions about some new menu items and he really took his time to explain and help. He is just an excellent server and a really nice guy. We got the beer burger, the pastrami sandwich and a kid's menu fish and chips, all of the food was excellent. We all got something we had never had before, I was surprised how big the sandwich was and the kid's fish and chips was the size of a normal portion of fish I've seen at other restaurants. Great place and always a TON of interesting beer choices.
(5)Silvia S.
This food is fricken good! I had the Ravioli Roma and it was unique for a burger but it worked it has a fried ravioli with pasta sauce and the burger meat was grilled perfect. The only problem is their cocktails, they didn't taste fruity at all and they need a larger selection.
(4)Joe L.
I really enjoyed my last visit to Brew City. It is a family friendly environment that had a really great beer list.....isn't that enough? The prices are really fair for what you get. The service was attentive and well informed about all both the food and beer.
(5)D B.
I've been here 3 times now and atleast one trip was worthy of 4 stars. My most recent trip gets a 3 on account of our waitress being completely frazzled and food not being cooked very well. Chili is good with some sweetness to it. I did want to note that the hostess was doing a great job on a really busy Saturday. Burgers are very good but get very spendy with add ons. These are good burgers but not 15 dollars good. The beer selection is great. I actually went two days in a row and was bummed when the side salad I enjoyed a ton the first time fell off a cliff on day two. Generally speaking this place is pretty good but has shown some consistency issues. I also think the burger prices are pretty steep. You can get high end burgers for less in virtually any city.

I give this place two stars because, although the food was decent and the beer list extensive, we had a horrible service experience. When we arrived, we were told it would be a 20 minute wait. Waiting 20 minutes with two hungry kids under the age of 8 is already not a good idea, but we had come this far and were too tired to leave and look elsewhere. After about 10 minutes, I peeked inside the dining area to see just how busy it was, and I spotted at least four empty tables that we could have been seated at. Right away I knew this was due to either understaffing on the server side, or a backup in the kitchen. It turned out to be both. We were finally seated, and a server took our drink order. The kids are starving by now. About 10 minutes later, a different server came back and was obviously taking over our table, and hadn't brought our drinks with her. Another 5 minutes or so, she came back, took our food order, and then the wait began. We waited... And waited.. Debated getting up and leaving.. And waited about 25-30 minutes for our food. The kids are in tears. I'm looking for a manager to complain to, but he's busing tables and serving food. The place was chaotic with servers running around with their heads cut off, dirty tables sitting unattended, and a clear message that they can't handle a Sunday lunch crowd. We won't be back because, well, we just don't have time.
(2)Jeannie G.
Extensive draft beer selection! I had the wachusett strawberry white, and although it was tasty it was extremely cold. I like my beer like my New England winters - very cold! Had a couple appetizers, they were typical bar food. Not bad, nothing to rave about. Sat at the bar, service was very prompt.
(4)Robert C.
This is our go to place to eat after a night of rock climbing. They have good burgers and an excellent beer selection. Their parking lot is on the smaller side so I've had to park on the street a few times. I always get a burger when I eat here and recently I've started making my own. They have a good selection of toppings that you can add to your burger if you want to build your own or you can choose one of their already designed burgers. One time I ordered "The King" which is a burger with peanut butter and banana, and it blew my mind. I never would have thought about putting those flavors together but they worked out really well together. Ever since that experience I've picked random toppings from their menu to put on my burgers and I've yet to be disappointed but nothing has compare to the King. On top of that they cooked it just how I wanted it!
(4)Joey R.
Great beer selection. Food is good, not great, and can get pricey. Happy hour in bar is a great deal though.
(3)Leah W.
Solid place for a bite to eat and a beer. Kid friendly and plenty of TVs for the game. Very rarely a wait in the dining area.
(4)Karis O.
Rolled in with 7 people, everyone got food and drinks and the bill came to $150 which is spectacular! They had an array of cocktails to choose from and obviously a very impressive beer selection. The food on the other hand was sort of questionable. They ran out of wings!! What! I got the pork nachos which had little pork on them, sad face and were covered in sour cream. Flavor wise, fine. Nothing special though. Brew City gets points for having a really cool layout and an upbeat, laidback staff.
(3)Paul O.
The food was good, service was very slow. Large groups will get better service from what I could tell.
(2)Norma Jeanne B.
Simply fantastic! I had the calamari and the Hot Mess burger and it was amazing. Susan was our waitress and she was an absolute card and kept us laughing. The industrial look was great for an evening of eating, drinking fabulous beers and enjoying friends.
(5)Bethany B.
There's a reason it's called BREW City and not FOOD City. The food here has always been bland at best, and definitely forgettable. Thank god for the awesome beer. They have about 40 taps, which have brews from Long Trail, Magic Hat, Wachusett, Berkshire, Dogfish Head, Saranac, Harpoon... all the New England favorites are right in front of you. So put your drinking pants on and saddle up to the bar with a buddy. You'll be there a while. Especially if the Sox are on TV.
(3)Thomas B.
Great setting...particularly for an afternoon of games. Big selection of beers on tap and they serve beer in pitchers! The service was attentive, friendly and professional. The food was quite good -- wings were rated "very good: by the group as was the meatballs, burgers and pizza.
(4)Andrew S.
Brew City has about what seems like a million beers on tap - it's great. Their buffalo wings? Best I've ever had. I'm not really a wing connoisseur or anything, but Brew City's wings are phenomenal.
(5)S S.
Solid pub food (although menu could offer a few more choices), great service, and a huge variety of draft beer. Prices are reasonable, but with "build you own" it's very easy to turn an $8 burger into a $15 one. All in all, definitely worth checking out.
(4)Michael W.
So I went back and I must say that the service was very good, but the food seems to be little more than an afterthought. The cordon bleu salad was not worth eating. Honey mustard dressing was little more than whole grain mustard, it was disgusting. My friend had a veggie burger and a cup of butternut bisque. She didn't enjoy either item. Don't get me wrong, the beer selection is impressive, the food not so much
(2)Rob R.
This place is awesome. Great beer, great food, great management and staff! If you like beer, there is no better bar in Worcester- hundreds of options, on tap or in bottles. Food is above average. Service is way above average, especially the bartenders. A lot of TVs, and they'll put on whatever game you request. Keno and scratch tickets for those in the mood. Fantastic!!!
(5)Jamie L.
Went here for lunch the other day. Our waitress was fabulous and very attentive. I had the king. It was good and cooked how I ordered it. My GF had a veggie build your own burger and she said it was great. Our waitress made sure our drinks were never empty and she was very socialble. I am a big beer fan and will look forward to going back and introducing some of my out of town friends to the place.
(4)Ryan F.
I LOVED their take on clam chowder. It was heavily seasoned, which was a nice change of pace after trying several rather bland bowls. The pulled pork nachos are also noteworthy, and please bring somebody to share them with because the portion is humongous.
(4)Steve B.
Only go here if you are drinking. Went for dinner because it looked like a nice place for good Bar and Grill food...I was wrong. I got a burger which was about $16 and had zero flavor and was poorly prepared. She got fish and chips which too had little flavor and was just...below average. Service was great, I'll give them that. I can see that people like the beer selection so I'd keep it at that. On Shrewsbury Street you can find plenty of better and cheaper places.
(2)Mark H.
I frequently go here, especially when I have company from out of state. The staff is generally really good and helpful, especially when it comes to the drink menu. As far as the menus go their drink menu is far superior to the food, selection wise at least. They always have something worth trying, even more so when the featured drinks are good. The food menu has good items, but its some what limited. They have make your own burgers, with veggie burgers and Buffalo included. They also have The King Burger. If you like delicious burgers get this even if you're apprehensive. Its the phenomenal.
(4)Jef S.
When you come in here, ask for Sue as your waitress. She was definitely not the best waitress ever: she did things at her own speed. Another round? Sure, honey...I'll be back to get that in just...one...minute. Ten minutes later...but anyway, Sue makes up for this in that she is Worcester charm incarnate: funny, salty, sassy, and personable. Case in point: Me: Sue, this King burger has peanut butter, grilled banana, and bacon on it. Do people actually order it? Sue: People LOVE it. They get it all the time. If you like peanut butter. It's got a lot of peanut butter. Me: On a BURGER? Sue: Try the fried pickles with that. Me: *speechless* Sue: You'll love 'em, honey. You want that burger medium or what? No, Sue, I would not. As much as I wanted to try the American Kobe Classic, I worked restaurants long enough to know that a burger will NEVER come out cooked to your temperature. I wanted that sucker RARE. It wasn't worth $15.99 for overcooked "Kobe". Instead I made the tactical error of the Crunch Time: BBQ Sauce, pepperjack, and Lays chips. It wasn't bad, but the burger, of course, came out medium well. The flavors were good and it hit the spot, even though it really was nothing special. Fries were quite good. The menu was extensive and I found it hard to make a decision. Huge score on this one in the sense that the food is quite good for a bar and it's nice to have a good selection. As far as beer selection, there's a beer for everyone here, both on draft and in bottles. Prices are competitive and only set one back a bit more than usual. So head on down and say hi to Sue. Make sure you order your ice water early and often, because she's REALLY busy tonight.
(3)C L.
Went for burgers and beer and that's what we got sitting in the bar area. Create-your-own burger was fun to customize with lots of meat choices beef, turkey, buffalo....then tons of toppings and bun choices. Great service! Parking in back.
(3)Cindy N.
Clam chowder? Yes, so light, but a nice kick that you wouldnt expect. Mussels with steamed with James Adams with bacon? YES please, oh my golly, its such a simple change compared to using wine, but it makes a huge difference in taste. With the bacon, these mussels tasted smokey and savory! Burgers are good, though my medium burger was a little overcooked. The fish and chip are also a solid option. However, i really enjoy the atmosphere and it is a great place to grab some grubs and beer!

I like to consider myself a bit of a foodie, I love going to various restaurants in whatever area I'm in, especially if they've been features on TV or in good reviews. So Brew City fell into that category nicely, or so I thought. It was about a year ago that I purchased the famous butter burger from the Standard Diner in ABQ, and it was delicious, so when I noticed they had garlic butter as one of the ingredients on Brew City's 'burger works' menu I was all set. I chose the garlic butter, a sesame seed bun, and kobe beef, cooked medium. Thinking back I should have requested medium rare since seeing Kobe beef cooked even an inch past medium is a tragedy. Still I thought I would be alright. I was of course quite wrong. The burger that was brought to our table was cooked well done, the outside was crunchy, charred, and the inside was flavorless and dry. This was supposed to be Kobe beef? This was a travesty. There was also no garlic butter on my burger despite the waitress' insistence so I sent it back. I'd taken a bite out of it and expected to get a whole new burger. Also too much to expect. The waitress brought me back the same burger with my bite taken out of it, and the bottom bun had been soaked in melted garlic butter. This is not how you put butter on a burger. You put one bad on the top of the meet so it doesn't soak into the bun. Did I mention I could make better french fries at my house? These were clearly the stock kind you'd buy frozen in an anonymous brown papered back, standard 'restaurant supply' premade fries that hadn't been considered fresh picked in a year. Oh and the waitress refused to refill our drinks, ask how our meals were, or give us our check for about fifteen minutes after we finished. We didn't even see her wandering in our area of the restaurant during that time to call her over ourselves. Overall, very disappointing. How can you brag about having the best burgers around and not even know how to cook them? Next time I want a burger and fries I'll go to Five Guys. Pretty sad when a chain restaurant out performs what's supposed to be a worcester 'legend'.

A 20-something couple, my boyfriend and I are constantly looking for new, affordable, delicious food and drink close to home. We found Brew City because we were looking for a place with outdoor dining in Worcester last summer. When we got to Brew City, we parked out back without any trouble, but the outdoor seating (about 3 small tables) was full and not about to open up any time soon, so we sat inside (wah wahhh). The waitress was quick to the table and attentive throughout the night. Drinks-wise, Brew City lives up to its name. Wow, the beer menu is HUGE! I'm a cider-lover, and they have Woodchuck (local from Vermont) on tap. It's all I drink when I go there! A bar with cider on tap could serve cardboard for dinner and I'd still go, but Brew City's food does not disappoint. Sweet potato fries - awesome! Build-your-own burger with turkey and bison options (they actually have SIX types of burger patties to choose from) are the best! My only complaint -- and it can hardly be called a complaint -- is that the burgers are too big! My turkey burger always comes with two turkey patties in a bun, and I always have to take one out. Obviously not a deal-breaker by any stretch of the imagination. Brew City is a great option to kick off a night on the town, or just a nice place to have dinner on its own. Can't wait for the summer because I WILL get one of those outdoor tiny tables!
(4)Heidi R.
Worst service ever! We waited 15 minutes to be seated and finally just decided to eat at the bar where we found the hostess sitting and chatting! Then we say at our table for 10 more minutes-no one acknowledged us, but the waitress came to the neighboring table a few times. Finally we just left and the couple leaving in front of us said it took them over an hour to get their food. It wasn't anywhere near busy either.

Three months ago, I would have given this place a solid 4.5 of 5. However, they've changed their menu to become more "upscale." While I am no stranger to fancy dining, Brew City was best at being a great burger-and-beer joint, with some other excellent options. It seems that they want to try to jump into the fancy gastropub realm. Unfortunately, the options available left me looking back at the burger menu. For example, one of the new entrees is "herb marinated half chicken cooked under a brick until crisp with arugula." Does cooking something under a brink make it crisp with arugula? (I'm joking...) Onion rings, of which theirs were arguably the best, are no longer available. Some of the "build your own burger" options have changed, which means my favorite buffalo burger can no longer be ordered. Bring back the garlic butter! With the new menu, all prices are jacked up. There are no entrees under $15, and one can easily order a burger with some toppings and make a $20 burger. If you're feeling adventurous, you can order fries (for even more money). From the new menu, I ordered the "roasted chicken on rustic bread with an arugula pesto, roasted red peppers and Pecorino Toscano cheese." I ordered this because it seemed like the only thing on the menu that was a value at $9.50. Unfortunately, the sandwich was small, and had very little chicken on it. The arugula pesto was spread so haphazardly that it was only on one half of the sandwich. My advice to Brew City: if you want to experiment with expensive, upscale food, you're going to be competing with the 111 Chophouse across the street. That's a fight you won't win. Stay within your genre.
(2)Daniel L.
Good food and excellent service. Our waiter Richard was attentive and very friendly to our 2 young kids. Instead of ignoring them he went out of his way to make them feel special.
(5)Paul G.
Great good great service..best pub on Shrewsbury street by far..
(4)Douglas D.
Huge selection of beer. Big selection of burgers, toppings and right down to type of ground beef. Good portions.

I recently tried Brew City on a recommendation from a friend who used to live in Worcester. We went on a Saturday night at about 5:30. It wasn't very busy and the place looks very appealing, especially for this area. I really wanted to like Brew City. Really. It's not a chain, the menu is really creative and the food is different. I should add a star just for being so different. Our waitress Stacey was very nice, polite, friendly and talkative. We started out with soda and tea and ordered the pretzel stick app. It was 7.95 which is a hell of a lot of money for four pretzel sticks. I perused the menu while I waited and it really looked awesome. I was honestly excited. The pretzel sticks came quickly. They were hot, fresh and really delicious. The app included stone ground mustard, ranch (which I found a little weird) and a nacho cheese dip that was really tasty even though it was much too thick thanks to an extended bath in the steam table. I was very happy with this dish. At this point I was still really excited. Stacey came back and I happily ordered the King burger. Peanut butter, bananas and bacon. Weird, yes but I was happy to try something imaginative. My girlfriend ordered the crunch burger. Did I mention the burgers were 10.99 a piece? I really didn't care because my app was outstanding, if expensive; but I'm willing to pay for good quality. Then my burger arrived. The burger I was so excited about. I laid eyes on a thin, previously frozen hamburger patty. I was so sad. So, so sad. All my hopes for this place were crushed like the flat little dried out piece of meat between the standard bulky roll it was served on. Sure the bananas were fresh and the jarred peanut butter was ok too. The bacon was mediocre at best but that poor little flavorless piece of meat ruined it all. I ate about half. The fries were fine. At least they weren't the battered kind so often served in this area. My girlfriend was equally saddened by her frozen patty. We paid our 36$ and left. We might give it a shot again, but burgers definitely wont be ordered. There is really no excuse for using a frozen patty in an $11 burger.

Menu selection is small and caters to meat eaters. I had the new Orleans jumboylia. Do not bother. While the portion was huge( 3 meals worth) it really had no flavor. It contained peppers, onions, chicken, shrimp, and rice. It also comes with Italian sausage but I did not have it in mine. The shrimp consisted of three large ones. It was not spicy and really just tasted like all the items mixed. I would not recommend this. The BBQ chicken pizza was also bland. No flavor. The crust was mushy and the toppings were essentially non existent. We have eaten here before a few times and liked it but if this was our first trip here i would never be back. This review is for this time only as I have not been here in about 6 months. Service was slow and the waitress decided to keep the change rather give it to me.

Couldn't agree with Daniel l review more. We had a wonderful young waiter named rick. (He didn't seem to mind that I kept calling him rich). Very attentive and accommodating. When we went to compliment this young man to his manager, she was equally as friendly. Definitely revisiting.

A lot of people have a chip on their shoulder about Worcester. Being from Pawtucket, a city often equated with (or even considered worse than) hell, I empathize with Worcester. It gets a bad rap for its general dilapidation, deserted mills, and bizarre street patterns, but I like its quirkiness. I'm glad I got that off my chest. Having made it known that I like Worcester, and like dabbling in its social scene (which, as of now, looks like it may be in the upswing of the gentrification process - that place in time right before everything gets all popular), I will now rip Brew City a new one. In general, I'm a big fan of places with a great beer selection, and a generally standard bar menu. Bar food is delicious! I'll try a couple beers, I'll polish off a sangwich, I'll stuff my face with fries dipped in mayo and ketchup. All of these things are fun, common, and wonderful. But one thing I will not stand for is a poorly-run floor. There was no hostess system, so I think they threw a schweaty busboy to start a list of all the peeps that were standing around waiting for a table (myself included). There were three waitresses on the floor for about 80 seats. It was clear that there were two large holiday parties that had made reservations, yet they were still incredibly understaffed. Because of this, there was a huge overflow of people at the bar, all eating, so the bar was weeded. All in all, the minute we walked in, we should have turned on our heels and left because of the air of disorganization that was blanketing the entire place. But we wanted beer and burgers, and for anyone who can identify, this is no light matter. Since both my friend and I have about thirty combined years in the food service industry, we asked questions, figured out that the busboy was the hostess, and took a mental note of the names of the people before and after us on the wait. We then elbowed our way through the bar and tried some seasonals. After way too long of a wait, we were seated. We promptly learned that the servers were rotating tables instead of being assigned sections (might have something to do with the headless chicken vibe, eh?) and they were VERY confused as to which server was to take our table. Luckily, they sorted it out after two different servers as us if anyone had been over to us yet. Uber-professional. Once we ordered, we did receive our food promptly. Food was better than average bar fare: burger was good, I appreciated all the choices of bread, patty, toppings, extras. Fries were AWESOME! Pizza was also good - shell was crunchy and light, toppings fresh and tasty. Seems like the kitchen was totally on-point. Although we were happy with our food, we saw our waitress exactly twice: to order and to ask for the check. Weeds, anyone? I wonder if this is the general dilly here on busy nights? Perhaps the holidays got the best of Brew City...

We were stuck in Worchester for a few hours and were told to go here, so we did. It has a very sports bar feel to it on the inside. The waitress was nice and attentive and the food was good. I had a grilled vegetable salad and it was so good! My friend has a chicken pizza, also really good!

My boyfriend and I have always loved Brew City but this past weekend we were more than displeased. Our waitress was nice but definitely in the wrong profession. She first told us that they do not accept military ID's, which is in no way her fault, however, it is insulting. We go out to eat often and have never encountered this problem. I ordered a veggie burger(which was delicious) and added habanero jack cheese as well as a mustard aioli. It was about $14 which I thought was a little much. My other half ordered a buffalo burger with bacon and BBQ sauce(he loved it), but when we got the bill it was $21!! I understand bison is more expensive and we are not cheap but that is outrageous!! Imagine if he had ordered three toppings, that'd easily be a $30 burger! I love the food here, don't get me wrong, but if I'm going to pay that much for a burger with two toppings I most certainly will not be paying it in Worcester. The biggest reason we will not return is their lack of respect for service members, it's such a shame for a restaurant with so much potential. I was going to write to them directly but there is no contact section on their website. I will miss my veggie burger, now I'm on the hunt for a new place!

Brew city. When i first moved to worcester, i came here in hopes of watching some USC football since they were a bar with lots of tv's. and i heard great things about it. however, they don't have the channel that covers USC football. boo on them. seriously, ever hear of cable? anyway, on to the food and drink. they do have a great selection of beers. i'm a hard cider type of gal and they have plenty of that so i was happy. the food left a lot to be desired. the chicken tenders had a weird seasoning to them and their dipping sauces tasted . . . off. also, i heard a lot about their bavarian pretzels? i tried them and seriously, they're just sticks of bread with salt on them. too much salt actually. so overall, not impressed with brew city. now i just need to find a place to watch football

This place has an unbelievable selection of beers and, if that is all you care about, it's awesome. Everything else fails miserably. The service is beyond atrocious. We've been at busy times and slow times and it is equally bad. The food is less than mediocre. The gluten free burger roll consistently comes as hard as a rock and completely uneatable. Avoid this place completely for food.
(1)Jocelyn G.
Decent place to stop in Worcester and grab a burger and beer. The burger had some different spice on it, some type of pepper. I was pleased that they had hard cider, which is often not stocked in a beer place.
(3)Ken M.
Perfectly acceptable. The mixed drinks are cheaper than a glass of wine, which is a little weird. The food was perfectly fine and the service was fine. Not much to talk about. The hummus appetizer was probably the best part of the meal. The Reisling was good, but pricey at $8.50 a glass. The pulled pork sandwich was fine.

Beer selection: 5 stars Food: 3 stars Staff: 4 stars I'd go 3.5 stars, but food is key.

Love the new style! I've been coming here since I hit the fair ripe age of 21. Its no secret, if you like beer and lots and lots of variety, this is your metro west spot. Very laid back feel to the entire place and definitely a hometown favorite joint. The menu used to be much more expensive ( $20.00 for a kobe burger for example) but now they've trimmed it down a little and obviously saved some money doing so. Portion sizes on the menus are decent though some may argue they are a little small. If you are new to different kinds of beers and flavors, Brew City is the place! Try the sampler - 5 (count em) 5 oz beers of your choice. They always have the seasonal delights like shandys in the summer, pumpkin beers in the winter, and wintery ales. I'm not one for stouts or porters, but you can dive into a sea of them here. If you don't mind a bit of a crowd, this is a great place to watch a game! The parking situation can get a little hairy if you don't come a bit early.. as such for Shrewsbury street though. I can't speak highly enough of the staff here. Its tough to be knowledgeable about beers and such with so many to pick from so kudos to them for it! I've always had firendly and prompt service in the dining room. Take your friends and go watch the Pats game!!

I was very disappointed by my experience at Brew City. I went there with two close friends and we were initially very excited as we had heard good things. We were seated quickly, and our waitress soon found her way to our table. She first quickly rambled off a jumbled mumbled bunch of words. None of us quite got what she said and when asked to clarify she explained, quite exasperated, that they were the special beers on tap. Luckily for her none of us are drinkers so she was spared the annoyance to have to repeat herself. We put our orders in. It took approximately forty minutes for our burgers to arrive. Now mind you this was on a Sunday afternoon and there was only one other table waiting for food when we arrived. Why burgers of all things needed so long to cook is past me. I am however a HUGE burger lover and I'm more then willing to wait an hour or more for a really good burger. As soon as they came out I began to get a Bad feeling. I had ordered a simple bacon cheeseburger, medium rare, and it was missing the bacon. I notified my waitress and she brought it back to the kitchen and returned it to me with two pathetic pieces of bacon on it that were crunch and dry and tasted as if they'd been sitting around for a long time. When I cut into the burger I was annoyed to discover it had been cooked slightly past medium which is definitely not what I'd asked for. But this was not the only issue. My friend had ordered something even simpler then I. A plain burger cooked medium, with garlic herb butter. She received a plain burger... with nothing on it. She asked the waitress about it and was informed that it was there you just couldn't see it. My friend took a bite and couldn't taste any so asked the waitress again. The waitress took it back and returned with it a moment later. The bottom bun was drenched to the point where it was falling apart and hard to hold. Which is ridiculous. If you order butter on something like a burger it SHOULD come in a single pat on the burger. You do not drench a bun with liquid. Food does not work this way. Her medium burger I might add, was also not in fact, medium. It was so well done it was more well done then my second friend's burger who HAD requested it well done (luckily for my second friend the only issue with her burger was that the caramelized onions she had ordered with her burger were actually just sauteed). All of us were rather hungry at this point and we decided to make do with what we'd been given rather then wait another hour or more for new burgers. But we did intend to let the waitress know were were dissatisfied when she came around to check on us. She eventually came around to ask how things were... however no sooner had I said "It's okay but..." she had vanished once again. Our empty soda glassed also remained woefully unrefreshed. We finished our meals about fifteen minutes later, having seen neither hide nor hair of our waitress since the last brief encounter. We sat around for another twenty minutes or so waiting for our check , aggravation growing. Finally we had to get the attention of another waitress. She seemed annoyed that we asked her to find the one who had been waiting on us but went to grab her anyways. From the direction our elusive server appeared from I can only guess she was goofing off at the bar. When she came over and asked if we wanted the check I replied that yes we would and I also wanted to give her a little feedback on my experience dining there. She didn't want to listen and immediately said she get me the manager. All I can say is that THANK GOD for that manager. Finally I found someone who worked in Brew City who seemed to actually possess a brain. She listened to our complaints, had a few words with the staff in the back, and came back and said she would cover our bill. She is the ONLY reason I am giving a two star rating instead of a one. Brew City has awful service and mediocre food for the price. For a restaurant that PRIDES itself on superior burgers they also need to figure out how to actually cook them at the proper temperatures as well. All in all I will most likely NOT be visiting there again anytime soon.

This place has gone downhill...no pretzel app, way overcooked burgers and very long wait for food. They need to make some changes otherwise I won't be back!
(2)Rachel R.
One year ago I would have given this place 2.5-3 stars. They have greatly increased food quality in the recent months and we are really enjoying the new menu. The only very sad thing is that the ravioli burger is gone (which was my favorite). Still good choices for burgers as well as several other dinner items. The new nachos are fantastic and very unique. We also love that they have a parking lot. The beer menu is still great with lots of choices. Overall a solid place to have dinner or some beers.

Nice! My friends and I are always looking for a new burger to try. So they order one and I order anther. So here are the results: The King: although upon first reading the menu, you really have to wonder if this is any good. But hey we'll try anything once! Angus beef, bacon, peanut butter, and bananas The Kobe Beef burger and extra crisy fries! Sue our waitress - nice sweet lady - made sure we were taken care of! So the King! was mmmmm mmmm good the Kobe equally as good, and the fries were extra crispy, wow a waitress who takes orders correctly and a cook staff that listens to their waitresses.... Four bones and a woof!

This is a great place. The beer selection is great and the food is also a highlight. Its quite busy, but a little patience is worth it. The service is fast and the price is right. In the past, I've had typical burgers (Kobe beef!), chicken wings, and they have some incredible appetizers if you have a few people with you!
(4)Amanda L.
Met up with some friends and felt that this was a smidgen lackluster. The beer selection was rather expansive but the food was So-So. We had calamari that was breaded for sure but not seasoned. The burger and BBQ Brisket were good choices but when we asked for leftovers they only put half the food in the to go container. I wanted to give more stars but on top of everything we had a waitress who was training and her trainer who didn't hang around to mentor her after letting us know he was training her. Funny though I noticed him just standing around a good portion of our visit there. Our apps took awhile and our food even longer. Even on a busy Saturday night, I expected the service to be a little better and/or quicker.

Awesome new setup, a huge improvement over it's old approach. This place became a burger place not too long ago and it is absolutely perfect. They have a GREAT beer list, knowledgeable staff, and their burgers.. oh man. I have had some good burgers in my day, but everytime I have a burger here I always say to myself 'Why don't I go here more often for dinner!!??' They have a great array of burger selections and you can build your own burger. Come here with friends, come here with a date... There are burgers... and then there are BURGERS... If you don't come here to try it at least once (and have some good craft beer in the process) you are an idiot.
(4)Kevin J.
The food was excellent and the beer selection was large. I like that they group the beers on the menu by type.
(4)Amanda L.
If you like BEER, come here. If you like GOOD BEER, get here faster. Tons of beer on tap, special beers of the month (This month its Sam Adams! YAY!) and even more beers in bottle form. They even had cask beer, which I had no idea what it was before I came here. I got a sampler of different pumpkin style and Octoberfest style beers. They were all delicious. My Dad got a little carried away, ordering 2 beers plus a sampler (Sampler is 5, 5oz beers in case your wondering), but that just means it was a good day. I was really impressed by the food. My Portobello pesto pizza was bursting with flavor and not to mention veggies. My Dad's mess of a bowl of pulled pork shepard's pie something or other was delicious. Joe's sloppy joe made with some kind of beer was also very tasty. I'll be back, especially for the beer, and definitely for the food.
(4)Justin S.
Unexpectedly amazing draft and bottled beer selection for a place that- by appearances- you'd think would only offer Miller Lite and Schlitz. Definitely a standard-issue sports bar through and through, but one with a fun, welcoming vibe. The food is pretty good here, too, especially the spicy buffalo chicken strips. And again, the beer selection is probably the best west of Boston. I like this place- my go-to bar whenever I'm in the area and want to hang out with friends.

My husband and I finally had some time alone (no kiddos) , and wanted to get some drinks and good food. We wanted to stay close to home so decided on Brew City which was about a mile from where we reside. We got there around 9pm and were seated by the hostess at a nice corner booth. We decided to have the Blueberry Beer which was very good and suggested by the waitress. For apps we ordered the buffalo chicken tenders and BBQ chicken spring rolls. Both came out hot, were very tasty (especially loved the honey mustard sauce, because you can really taste the honey in it). The portions were good and we thought it was well priced. Then we ordered the clam chowder and my husband ordered the Chile. The Clam chowder was great but it was not hot when I received it. Once heated though it was amazing. The Chile wasn't that great, was a little salty, and didn't have much sauce in it, was kind of dry. It could have used some sugar, etc. The desert we ordered was the strawberry shortcake and this reminded of me when I was a kid. This desert was soooooo good, simple, yet delicious. Lastly, our waitress was very nice and attentive. We were so full and with everything we ordered the bill ended up at 45 dollars and some change which I thought was reasonable. Thanks for a good time.

I work very close to Brew City, so you'd think my coworkers and I would be there all the time. We stopped going there a couple years ago. The reasons? -The beer selection may be large, but none of it is very interesting. "Look, we have 17 varieties of Sam Adams!". -The food tastes like it fell off the back of a Sysco truck. It's all bland and boring. -The prices are high for the quality.
(2)Clare D.
I was very disappointed in my Brew City experience. It's simply a large sports bar, not a very interesting space and not particularly welcoming. Our server was very slow and uninterested and also a tad surly right up till the end when we finally got our check at which point she became much friendlier. The draft beer list is longish but not very inspiring considering the options available in MA for local beers. The bottle selection is much more interesting. The food was standard sports bar fare and also very uninteresting. Overall it was a waste of our time considering the many other good beer options Worcester has to offer.
(2)Lynsky K.
Tonight was their open house for the New menu.... I felt like a special guest with my attentive waitress. The setting was a Comfortable environment, Gourmet food with the same great price. Jerry & Jerry Jr. hosted the ultimate Dining experience.
(5)Thomas N.
lunch recently and have been there several times before, service was good and parking pretty easy as they have their own lot, great beer selection and i think really great and diverse burgers, best around imho.....stuffed with blue cheese this time although we also had one stuffed with macaroni which actually worked!!
(5)Michael D.
I recently went here for dinner with some friends and was caught by surprise (in a good way!) The menu options were fairly extensive, the beer selection (especially on tap) was excellent and not what I expected when walking into the restaurant. We were seated promptly and our waitress came right over. The staff overall was very friendly including our waitress who was awesome. She was very attentive (coming over and asking if we'd like another beverage as soon as ours were getting empty). She also refilled our waters constantly without us having to ask (which in my opinion, any respectable eatery nowadays that deserves to have customers walk through its doors should be doing!) I had some sort of chicken salad sandwich which was very tasty. Overall it's a great place to meet with friends for dinner or to grab a drink (especially if you're looking for a place with a sizable beer menu on tap) in an atmosphere that's comfortable and with very decent prices. If you're in the area I highly recommend stopping by and checking them out.
(4)Robert T.
I've been here a few times, and I really like it. They have a good beer selection (including cask beer) and the food is pretty good and in generous portions. Our waitress was fun and gave us advice on where we should go next.
(4)Katherine D.
Brew City is a great place to sample just about any beer. They have over 100 beers and over 30 + tap. It is a perfect venue for watching a gme with friends. I only came here for dinner and the service was kind of slow. I had the chicken marsala which was ok (big size portion) and at a decent price $15. My friend had their onion rings and she loved it!
(3)Andrew C.
This place is solid. The atmosphere is a huge selling point-- it's a good NON-CHAIN place to take anyone for a lunch or dinner. Not fancy, but very nice. My salmon wrap with fries was what I expected for about $9. I get the sense that the food is basically what you would get at TGI Fridays at similar prices, but check out other food reviews since I have only been twice. One thing I can say: Tons of menu options-- from healthy to greasy. Very attentive, nice waitstaff. Seated right away for a Sunday lunch. Food came quickly. Kind of a bro place, but the menu is extensive enough to make anyone happy.
(4)Teri L.
Brew City is ok...yeah it has a funky look, great beer list and cool bartenders. But the food is ehh. Not the best by far. Not even pretty good. I ordered a hamburger and I got a tough little flat piece of meat on a bun with rubbery fries. The slaw was decent though. All in all...if you're looking for a drinking night and you don't care about the food then come here for the atmosphere and the beer. The bartenders were just awesome and attentive.
(3)Jennifer E.
I have been to Brew City twice now and had a great experience both times. They have a huge beer selection and always have a few that are on special for an extra affordable price. The food is reasonably priced and delicious. The two times that I have been there I ordered the salmon wrap (it was so good that I had to order it again). My husband ordered the pulled pork which was also good and came with their phenomenal corn bread, fries, and cole slaw. The service was good and even when it was busy the staff seemed to be pretty on top of their game. I plan on trying one of the burgers (they have a huge selection to choose from) one of these days. One of my favorite parts of going to Brew City is that they make their own spicy mustard. I love spicy mustard so this was very exciting for me and it was sooo good. So all in all I would definitely recommend Brew City if you are in Worcester.
(5)Chris C.
I have been here a bunch of times now and will keep going. It is what it is and that is an modern style pub with a loud atmosphere and TVs everywhere. Now I have to admit I'm always a sucker for places that offer beer samplers, but one thing that they do different here is offer a sample size. Basically its the same size that comes in the sampler, but you can order just one instead of a whole rack. I think its a good deal especially for trying something you've never had before. That said the beer selection here is pretty good, but you won't find anything too out of the ordinary. They mainly stick to familiar name breweries, but will have some of their less common offerings which is good. They do usually have a couple of less familiar breweries with a selection or two from them though that are more rare. The food used to be ok, but recently has become pretty good thanks to some new selections. The BBQ chicken spring rolls were very tasty, but I would not describe them as light eating. They are more like the size of a small burrito than a spring roll. I really like the new burger menu they have added. The pre-built selections are interesting, but what sold me was the build your own section. I went for a kobe burger on the oat wheat roll (highly recommend) with swiss cheese, the 5 pepper jelly, grilled peppers and chili. It was great. I had it with the sweet potato fries and they were ok. Typical frozen store bought ones. The regular fries are better.
(4)Erica S.
They have the best fish here. I really enjoyed the baked haddock and I got it with a subsitute instead of fries, I got mashed potatoes. They didnt have gravy which was a bummer for me because I LOVE gravy! As far as thier other food the burgers are good, the atmosphere is o.k. there are indoor and outdoor tables you can eat at, the only thing is being on Shrewsbury St. it is hard to talk if you sit at an outdoor table. It is hard to hear the other person because of all the traffic going by. My hubby likes this place alot, I would have given it three stars but he said to do four. So I am in a generous mood. :)
(4)Erin H.
I have been to Brew City several times, and it has been extremely consistent...(and I have consistently ordered the same meal each time because it's so good---Pulled pork sammie with sweet potato fries, wash it down with a Wachussett Nut Brown Ale...yum!) Prices are good, excellent beer selection...but the wait staff, although consistently friendly...are consistently SLOW! So, I recommend going here when you have some spare time--it's worth it!

Back for the first time in six months and this visit was disappointing. We split the Brew House salad, which was okay. The greens seemed fresh, nothing too exciting, could have used some croutons or something to add flavor. Next we had the Landsdown St. pizza. This pizza is advertised as having peppers, onions and sausage. Our pizza had some traces of peppers, but barely anything, and way too many onions. Last time we had this pizza it had crumbled sausage, this time the sausage was a little different and not as good. They were like slices of sausage. Anyway, our pizza crust was soggy in the middle, probably because there was so much onion on it. As far as the restaurant,I can't understand why they have that huge wall dividing the dinning room and the bar area. It would really open the place up by shortening or removing much of that wall. With the wall up, the bar area is cramped and the dinning room is a snore. The service was okay, our waitress was all over us. Our food came out way too fast. Order the salad and then the pizza. The salad came out two minutes later. The pizza probably 8 or 10 minutes after that. Way too quick.

I wish I could tell you about the food, but we were never even given the chance to get a table. We went there early on a Saturday evening, (party of 4) and we DID NOT have reservations. The hostess told us that we could expect a 15-20 minute wait. Well after 20 minutes a very un-appoligetic hostess came over and said. "I know I told you 20 minutes but its really going to be another hour probally longer." No, were sorry, no appolgy, nothing, take it or leave attitude. We left and will never be back. (and yes there were empty tables, I dont think they know much about running the front end of the business.)

I am a fan, standard grill and pub food, nothing too special here. Once I got a terribly undercooked burger and it hurt way more leaving me than it did coming in. One of the better places in Worcester to catch a game and some really good and diverse brews. A standard pub and grill, nothing spectacular besides the beer here.
(3)Kevin W.
Brew City Grill is located on the rightly famous Shrewsbury Street in Worcester. This is a mecca for fine and fun dining. Brew City Grill is one of the more comfortable, casual locations on the street. It's got red brick walls, open pipe ceiling with what appears to be real tin accents, and a loud but fun atmosphere. I suppose it's just what you would expect from a brew house. I want to comment that I've been here several times and some nights - even nights that weren't sports nights - it was SO loud that we couldn't hear ourselves talk. So this is fun for a "loud night out" with friends, but not great if you want to have a normal conversation at all. The tables are cool with embedded shapes beneath the surface. There are all sorts of little details here that show someone put a lot of effort into making this room Just Right. The beer list is HUGE - you could find beer from around the world here. This would be somewhere to go with a beer fan and try a sample set, or maybe go back every week to try to try every beer at least once. There are a lot of food options - garlic bread, fried mushrooms, pizzas, sandwiches, steaks. I'm a seafood person so I went with the swordfish - it was delicious. Desserts were tasty, too. Service is NOT quick. We went here before a gig one night, expecting to maybe take 1 1/2 hrs for a dinner without dessert, and barely got out in 2 hours. Again that's without dessert. Still, it is what it is, a loud brew pub where they expect you to stay the evening and be loud. Perfect for a night out with the guys or girls, when you want to kick back, relax, talk and enjoy a fun time!

By a funny chance of fate, I went here two nights in a row for dinner. The first I had the misfortune of getting a very rude waitress who practically threw everything down on the table. I did ask my tuna to be cooked again but it was b/c I made the mistake of asking for rare when it was clearly not fresh enough to eat it rare. After she brought it back medium it was dry as a bone and tasteless as cardboard. I asked for some sauce (I think this second request is what pissed her off when she answered "the wasabi sauce isn't enough?" sorry, but who the hell eats cooked tuna steak with a dollop of straight wasabi??) and she brought some vinagreatte so I ate the rest of my dry, tough tuna steak with.. salad dressing. The veggies on the side were just as bland. My next experience was much better, the waitress was much nicer (I could have sworn it was the same waitress but she was 180 degrees different so the waitresses there must just have the same haircut). I got some kind of chicken pasta with cream sauce. It was ok but i could have made it myself. It was the kind of greasy American fare that isn't all that interesting. But the blueberry beer was! I was tickled when I saw the blueberry beer on the menu and the fact that they sprinkle some blueberries on top. So opposite of what you'd think beer would be. But I loved it, and I'd go back just for that.

We were seated quickly for our very early (4pm ish) start to "date night". After perusing the beer handout we took our hostess' recommendation of an Allagash White Ale for DH and a glass of Beringer White Zin for me. His beer definitely had the notes of banana and honey that she described. I am a red wine drinker -- only chose the Beringer b/c it was $5.25 a glass and I was just looking for a quick buzz before we saw Iron Man. Instead of dinners we chose two apps.- Beer BBQ Pork wings and the Beer Burger Slammers - both at $8.99. The Pork wings were interesting -- 3 meaty pieces with enough bone exposed to serve as a handle. I think $9 for 3 (1" wide x 2" long) pieces of meat to be a little high -- even in todays economy. The bbq sauce struck me as KC Masterpiece-ish but it was thick, flavorful and held onto the pork nicely. The 6 little fried pickle chips were very tasty - as was the little mound of creamy slaw. The Slammers were the highlight for us -- 3 great lil burgers cooked medium rare as requested with a crown of nicely caramelized onions. Skip the cheese - we should have. It added no flavor - just extra money. Do try their homemade stone ground beer mustard though -- really accented the burgers nicely. Also each burger buddy sat atop a HUGE onion ring. Excellent rings -- will definitley order them next time! We also tried there fries. Fresh cut and *lucky us* fresh grease. Good flavor with good crispness equals good fry. Our server was very nice -- not too chatty and quick with the bill and a box for leftovers so we could make the show. Our first time dining here and I have to all in all great time and we made it to Millbury for the 5:05 pm showing of Iron Man.

Wow this place is great. The beer selection is 2nd to none. Food is above average as well.Joe A. the owner could be a midget wrestler if this place failed but he won't have to worry about that!

Brew City is a welcome sight after traveling all the way from Newton on the commuter rail. However, as a connoisseur of beer, I can't give it more than 3 stars despite the large selection. The food has always been good, every time. Try some of the bottled beers, while you're there.
(3)Anna B.
The place was ok. The beer list was great, the atmosphere (especially the table, which another reviewer mentioned, were super cool), but the food left something to be desired. The fries were great, but my entree tasted pretty awful.
(3)Harry H.
Good beer, good food, great price. Awesome atmosphere for just a couple of friends, or the whole gang. Highly recommended that you stop in if you are in the area.
(5)Todd M.
The restaurant area is close to the very busy bar, so be prepared for some happy laughter drifting into the dining area. The food, ranging from typical pub fare, up through some interesting full course meals is always good and well priced. If you join the dining club, you will get some good coupons via email. You can also find some coupons by clicking onto the web site. As you can guess from the name, Brew City has a great beer selection, and has won many "best of" contests in the beer area. The waitstaff is well trained, so they can help you to pick the right beer, or they can offer you a sample tray (at a nominal cost) so that you can try several selections without springing for a full glass. Bread is on request, but be sure to request the nice, hot little loaf that will be delivered to your table on a cutting board.

my friends and i, a group of 8, decided to go out in worcester on a sunday night (we were in the area for a hike) and ended up at brew house because 1) we wanted a great beer selection and one person in our party was underage, 2) their prices are reasonable, and 3) they didnt have a wait at 6 30pm on a sunday night. the couple we were with that was actually living in worcester had been to the brew house before and said it was decent, so we said "why not?" well, i'll tell you why: the oldest member of our party doesn't have a driver's license, so he uses a state-issed non-driver ID card. APPARENTLY mass forces non-drivers to carry a liquor card in addition to the non-drivers card, and the only difference is that one says "liquor" on it. now, i understand that this place has to protect their bums, but as soon as the manager came over to explain why she couldn't serve our friend that is quite obviously overage, we knew it was going to be an interesting night. now, from there on our, our waitress (who never even told us her name) didn't even look any of us in the eye. we ordered 4 appetizers for the table, which didn't arrive until about 45 minutes later. the waitress finally took our dinner orders about 30 min after taking our appetizer order. appetizers were fine, we ordered the pretzels, the hummus (which was incredibly unimpressive), the ravioli with eggplant (which i really liked),and the onion rings, which were delicious. blah blah, another 30 minutes passes, and our waitress finally starts bringing out food. mind you, she never asked us how our appetizers were, and no one cleared our table until right before our meals came. here's the kicker. my boyfriend and i both ordered the black angus burger, medium rare, with portobello, swiss, and bacon. i chose to pay an extra $.79 for stone ground mustard, which i kicked myself for once the pretzels came because there was the same mustard, and for almost a dollar less i could have just used the leftovers from that. anyway, i usually don't cut my burgers in half, but for some reason i did last night, and to my surprise, MY BURGER WAS COMPLETELY RAW!!!! everyone else's burger at our table was undercooked from what they asked for (ie, ordered well done and got medium well, ordered medium rare and got rare), but being served a raw slab of meat is NOT OKAY!! what kind of chef feels good about himself sending that out?!?!?! after about 7 minutes of trying to catch our waitresses attention, i finally was able to flag over another waitress, and explain to her that my burger was not cooked at all and i would like to send it back. muttering under her breath "man, she's really batting a thousand tonight" (in reference to our server), she gladly takes my burger and sends it back to the kitchen. a couple of minutes later our waitress comes over and asks how everything is, and when we told her i had a raw burger that was sent back, instead of apologizing all she says is "yeah i know." finally about 10 minutes after i sent my burger back (and now that the rest of my party was almost finished eating) i finally got my burger back. and to my surprise they just threw the patty with the mushroom and the bacon back on the grill!!! i know this isn't supposed to be a high class restaurant, but c'mon, a new freakin patty would've been nice! (now i get to reheat my leftovers for a third time! yey...) once i bit into my cooked patty, it tasted decent, but my experience that night was absolutely inexcusable. the waitress never made eye contact with anyone in my group after the ID incident, NEVER ONCE apologized for my raw burger, and didn't even come back after i'd started eating just to make sure everything was ok. this chick really needs to find a new career. so, we finally get the check, and at the same time i request for the manager to come over. after being told that "she had to finish changing the tv channel" the manager comes over a minute or 2 later and i (with backup from my boyfriend) explain that i do not feel comfortable paying roughly $15 for my burger, and the manager takes it off our bill without a second guess. so now the manager brings back our bill, minus one burger, and we realize that there is an 18% gratuity added to the bill. under any other circumstance i would have no problem paying that added gratuity, but there was no way in hell i was giving that waitress $25 for the service we received that evening! once again we pulled the manager aside and explained how felt; we were in the restaurant for 2 hours, and the waitress NEVER APOLOGIZED for serving me a raw burger!!! they're lucky we didn't walk out after they refused to serve our friend.finally the rest of our party went outside to wait, and our waitress walked right past us, took 2 dishes off of our table, and walked away without even looking at us or asking if we wanted to pay our bill. she flat out IGNORED US!! we took the check to the manager and left the waitress a $10 tip on a $144 check
(1)Brian P.
Unbelievable beer menu. Absolutely top notch. Huge IPA selection. Plenty of Stout choices and everything in between. 40 Beers on tap. The onion rings and steak tips were delicious. Bar tender was very attentive and helpful.
(5)Nico C.
(2)Rachel A.
(4)Alex S.
The beer selection is pretty good. A lot of IPAs and some darker beers. The food is okay. Service is courteous and usually fast paced. The best time to go is for trivia night on Wednesdays at 7:30pm if you want something to do during the week after work with your friends/family/coworkers.

(4)Andrew A.
(1)Marc S.
(4)Kaytee T.
(3)Karis O.
(5)Mom Of T.
(4)Bethany B.

Went for burgers and beer and that's what we got sitting in the bar area. Create-your-own burger was fun to customize with lots of meat choices beef, turkey, buffalo....then tons of toppings and bun choices. Great service! Parking in back.

Good food and excellent service. Our waiter Richard was attentive and very friendly to our 2 young kids. Instead of ignoring them he went out of his way to make them feel special.

(4)Marlarissa M.
This place has gone downhill...no pretzel app, way overcooked burgers and very long wait for food. They need to make some changes otherwise I won't be back!

(4)Cross P.
(4)Jeff N.
(2)Matt R.
(4)Thomas N.
lunch recently and have been there several times before, service was good and parking pretty easy as they have their own lot, great beer selection and i think really great and diverse burgers, best around imho.....stuffed with blue cheese this time although we also had one stuffed with macaroni which actually worked!!

(5)Justin S.
(4)Michael D.
(4)Jennifer E.

Huge selection of beer. Big selection of burgers, toppings and right down to type of ground beef. Good portions.

The place was ok. The beer list was great, the atmosphere (especially the table, which another reviewer mentioned, were super cool), but the food left something to be desired. The fries were great, but my entree tasted pretty awful.

Good beer, good food, great price. Awesome atmosphere for just a couple of friends, or the whole gang. Highly recommended that you stop in if you are in the area.
