I liked the food and the atmosphere here. The prices also were very reasonable and the service was quick. Nice and clean restaurant located right off the main street in town. A good variety of food for everyone.

No more dedicated fryer for the gluten-free. No more yummy french fries. :( Sad panda. Everything else I said is still true, though.

Good old home style cooking served cafeteria style. Very good for breakfast and for Greek dishes.

Expensive for what it is, but large portions. So you be the judge. Great lunch spot. Recently added a bar area.

Went for breakfast this morning with the Lady. I got chocolate chip pancakes and she got blueberry pancakes. We got sides of bacon and sausages. The pancakes beat me, I only got through about 2 of them, but don't get me wrong, they were fantastic. The bacon was good as well. Love the casual atmosphere and The Bar looks like it would be a great spot to grab a drink some night.

I love the Restaurant- the food is really good, homemade, but a bit over-priced. And I also love the bar, especially on Friday and Sat night when they have acoustic guitar playing, but the bar is way too small. If you don't get there by around 6:30 or so, you don't get a seat, and you have to sit, closed-off , over in the restaurant side. The layout needs to be corrected.

The Restaurant is perfect for what it is...a place you can grab a quick home-cooked meal at reasonable prices. I've mostly come for breakfast here. The eggs benedict is very good, as are the omelettes and other meals. Pancakes are good, but they're pretty big, so bring your appetite. The lunch/dinner menu is OK. I'm not really a fan of cafeteria style food for lunch and dinner. If I want to go out for a Greek dinner, I'll go to a Greek restaurant. The service here is fast and efficient, and they move people through the line pretty quickly.

Finally gave this place a shot. Went at the busiest time of Sunday brunch expecting a long wait. I was surprised at how quickly we were able to get our food and a booth to sit. Food was awesome! Great corned beef hash! The home fries were perfectly cooked and seasoned. Will definitely come back!

Have you ever discovered a hidden jewel ? Well this is my discovery because they have only been open since November. "The Bar" is inside the already very successful "The Restaurant" I have been a fan of The Restaurant for years with its homemade comfort food . When I walked in and saw The Bar, I had to take a step back and say that I was blown away with the beautiful decor. We sat a spell with Mike our bartender and Jim the GM . They both made us feel right at home. This will be a regular spot for me, I just love the layout , the variety of wines and spirits, and what is most important for me : The Vibe and buzz of a new upscale watering hole. We dined on fare from the restaurant because we didn't realize there was a separate kitchen for the bar. We both had the baked stuffed chicken which was so good you would have thought your mother was serving you at home. Two others places nearby have scored poorly on yelp recently so I am thrilled to have a new spot to go .

My grandfather loves The Restaurant. From the look of the patrons at this place, it seems that everyone elses grandfather does too. It's more or less a big cafeteria, where you stand in line and tell the guys behind the counter what you want on the menu (it's a huge menu, they have pretty much everything). However, despite it being a stand-in-line establishment, most things don't come out right when you order them and you'll end up back at your table waiting for 10 or so minutes, not too bad. I got the steak tip salad, which was very good. The steak tips were nicely marinated and they put enough on it that I could barely even eat the salad. My mom got shepards pie which was pretty average, but good enough. How awesome can Shepards Pie be, really? Overall, I wouldn't come back on my own, but I'm sure I will next time Grandpa is in town.

I've been to the restaurant numerous times over the past few years for breakfast and lunch. The cafeteria style service lends itself to the food they serve, which is always consistently good. Nothing will blow you away, but the flavors are there and the service is always polite. A tad pricey, but not too bad. It's certainly one of the most convenient and delicious options for breakfast/lunch in the area!

Gyro over greek, reuben, turkey club, repeat. That's all you need to know when checking out the Restaurant, although pretty much everything on the menu is great. A few co-workers and I have been checking visiting this place on a weekly basis for years now, and it still hasn't gotten old. The food comes in generous portions, and is always fresh and delicious. Check it out folks, you won't be disappointed.

Squeaky-clean cafeteria-style place that serves fresh, homemade, bland food. A great place to take your mom (or grandmother, depending on how old you are) for breakfast or lunch. For yourself, you'll want to track down the one shaker of hot pepper flakes and/or the one bottle of tabasco sauce in the place. Depending on whose table it's on, you may decide to take a pass. Ordering is simple if a bit jarring - the gentlemen cooking do not lightly tolerate indecision. They get the food up quickly, though, which is good, because there is always a line of Woburn people behind you, pushing, pushing, pushing, to order. Paying is a little trickier; the women taking the money at the far end of the counter divide their time unequally between ringing up orders, getting your drinks, conversing with each other, and chatting on their cell phones -- but it's OK, because there's always a line of Woburn people ahead of you, taking forever to pay. While you eat, you can watch commercials on the flat-screen TV that hangs over the dining area like a Big Eye. If that makes you uncomfortable you can glance around the room and watch the Woburn people eating Woburn food, discussing Woburn things, and ignoring their gross Woburn children. The food's not bad, and the place really is squeaky-clean.

I like to eat at local places. Got rewarded when I found The Restaurant. First-rate diner food served cafeteria-style at great prices. Great selection --- you'll have to stand back and consider your options the first time you walk in here (don't hold up the line --- let the regulars pass you). And be sure to ask what's special that's not posted on the wall above the service counter. The woman we passed Saturday night was blissing over her lamb shank. Large portions; much cooked to order (marinated steak tips, grilled chicken beast that was juicy and flavorful, perfectly fried FRESH haddock..). Real whipped and Greek Lemon potatoes. They use fresh string beans for the Mediterranean beans. The place is usually full of contented diners. Really clean. GREAT staff. There's a large TV you can avoid if you choose, but you are NOT paying for fancy atmosphere at The Restaurant. If that's what you want, go nearby to Beacon Grill or Escadrille. 4 stars in general; 5 stars in the Diner category.

OK, so truth is I came here because I love the sign and the name. LOVE the sign -- three cute plates. So sweet. Anyway, glad I went! I went for breakfast with a group of 11 at 9:30 on a Sunday and we had such a good experience! The food was really good (I had an omelet, enjoyed many bites of a friend's chocolate chip pancakes, and the bacon was PERFECT) and the cafeteria thing was a really fun quirk (although I found ordering SCARY b/c of the fast pace - closest thing I've experienced to the soup Nazi). It was kid friendly and fun. Easy to find a table (at that hour), even for 11 people, which I stressed about on the way there. I did notice that by 9:50 there was a decently long line, though it seemed to move quickly. Not sure I'd love the cafeteria thing for a dinner out, but I'll be back again soon for a B or an L. Fun! Good! Prices are fair. BACON. Yum. Go!

Good breakfast, but don't expect to get blown away, or get table service. This "cafeteria" style restaurant has a single file line of diners loading up their grub, paying, then heading off to the chow tables. The speed of the line is slow enough to be annoying at times, but fast enough that it can be frustrating if you don't know what you want. Here's a tip: don't get into line until you know what you want. The food is good diner fare, at least the breakfast is, which is all I've had. Two things I was not fond of: the single, communal bottle of tabasco (why not one for each table at breakfast?), and no water service. If you want water, you have to get it from the counter, and then they give you these cups made for small children. All in all good food for a good price, but not much in the way of service once you've shuffled through the line.

We had gone here with 3 of us total! It was a great idea! The girlfriend and her friend had been here before many times. This was my first time here. Needless to say it lived up to its hype! Now as you walk in you will have that feeling of high school lunch in the back of your head! All you do is grab a tray and look up at the menu! Its very easy. Now the hard part of knowing what to order. They have a HUGE menu! To the left are their hot meals. Such as a turkey dinner, meatloaf and other items like that. In the middle you will find the breakfast menu. Its also huge! Then off to the right you will see their specials. I'm guessing the specials change so often. I had ordered Chicken kabob pocket! It has chicken, lettuce, tomatoes, and FETA cheese! with Greek sauce! I love feta cheese! The whole pit wrap was great! Id order this again! Highly recommended! The other 2 had items off of the breakfast menu. The girlfriend had french toast and bacon. Then our other friend had an omelet! I was able to try the french toast and it was cooked perfectly! The omelet look good as well! No one had any complaints. The service was great! They cooked everything quickly and they cooks are nice! We took our time picking our meals and they didn't rush us at all. Even though we had no line! The prices are also more than fair here! We are only talking $7-8 a meal. The amount of food you get here is pretty big as well! So make sure ya come hungry! Over all it was a GREAT first visit here. I look forward to visiting here again! Next time I will be trying their breakfast! They offer so much here! Its great service and the food is awesome! Plus its easy on the wallet! I say if your in the area you can't go wrong here! Very very strong 4/5! Took one off for it being my first time. We plan to visit again later this year! If its the same it will be a 5/5!

From the name, you could infer that The Restaurant is either a) full of itself b) unimaginative or c) self-mockingly postmodern. Fortunately, it is none of these things. Instead, it is a clean, modern, non-pretentious Greek cafeteria in downtown Woburn that has an expansive breakfast and lunch menu. Omelets, homefries, eggs any way, toast, BLT sandwiches, turkey dinners, meat loaf, burgers... even some Greek specialties like moussaka and spanikopita. Watching over the whole enterprise is the manager/expediter, Peter, who guarantees that everything moves along and that customers are happy and getting their orders. One word of caution- on Sundays, The Restaurant is only open until 1 PM and only serves breakfast. I was craving grilled cheese and onion rings on my last visit and got shut out. MVP & LVP: It's strange to say, but what sets this place apart is not culinary achievement, but rather efficiency and consistency. You will never have the best meal of your life here, but you will also never have your worst. If you miss York Steak House and want to have a good, honest meal of inexpensive comfort food, The Restaurant is your place.

Good drinks but the menu stinks. We ate at The Bar side (not the buffet) and there was a very limited selection and just or boring old stuff. Nothing special.

Another place the CHI girls and I would frequent. Cafeteria style breakfast all day, wraps, salads, sandwiches etc. Convenient for us because it was fast and all were happy with such a big selection. However, thinking back the food was just , OK in my opinion. Great pickles though!

Tasty diner food - huge portions - friendly owner who also is generough to the poor with free dinners at Thanksgiving. I've had the succulent pot roast - boiled dinner, breakfasts - all delicious home cooking.

Came in for a small steak tip salad, which was very filling. Salty, but oh-so-satisfying. A pile of salty, juicy steak tips on a big bowl of fresh Greek salad. This place is sparkling clean inside, and the staff are extremely friendly and went out of their way to accommodate me.

I've been to the Restaurant a few times and I've never been disappointed. The cafeteria style of ordering is a bit of a surprise, but you get used to it. The menu is pretty big, and it's tough to decide sometimes, but the food is pretty good and they serve it up quick. I went there for breakfast the other day and decided to try the french toast. I've had a lot of french toast in my life, and I would have to say their french toast is very tasty and I seriously contemplated asking for their recipe. 0:)

I kid you not- this place is actually called "The Restaurant." Well, when my friends suggested we eat here this past Saturday morning, I was definitely game for checking it out. Would it live up to its subtly pretentious name? This cafeteria-style setup is fast-paced and inexpensive. There's generally plenty of seating, too. The guys behind the counter are a laugh a minute. They refused to serve my friend Texas toast and gave him Nebraska toast instead. :-). You want it, they can make it. Egg concoctions will run you anywhere from $3-5 depending on how many you get. Omelets will run you $5.50 and up to about $7. The home fries were delicious!! Come hungry because everything here will make you want eat, eat, eat. I am not ashamed to say I polished off my entire plate and enjoyed every moment of it. Pretentiously named? Maybe, but they pull it off.

Came here this week for the first time in 5 years. It looked like they renovated the dining area and the bar. A little more upscale in the dining area now. Although the kitchen, ordering area still looks like a school lunch line where you grab a tray, order your food, they put it in your tray, and then walk away. I ordered a typical 2 eggs sunny with corned beef hash. The hash initially looked like it came from a can but upon eating it I was pleasantly surprised as it was definitely NOT from a can. I could tell by the texture and taste it was homemade. And the greek sausage was spot on too, salty with a hint of orange peel flavor. Coffee was New England Coffee blend (i.e. el cheapo crappo coffee) but overall I enjoyed my breakfast there. I could definitely see this place being a regular routine stop in the future.

Great breakfast. Plenty of selection as far as that meal goes, although I didn't pay much attention to the rest of their menu. It's nice that they serve it(breakfast) all day too. Also served me my food quickly. Portion size was about average for the money. The staff did seem a little rude when I first approached the menu in that they tried to hurry me into ordering(despite the fact that I was the only person in line). For the most part they were okay though. The cafeteria style setup is not to my liking but it's not a deal-breaker. I would probably go back. Edit: Went back to get breakfast this morning. Two eggs(over-easy), bacon, home fries, and wheat toast with a coffee; all for less than $8, and all good as home-cooked. I may end up becoming a real fan of this place.

This really is a 3.5 review but I wasn't impressed enough to give the extra umph. So here's my take on this place. The food is awesome, priced right and huge portions. The mac and cheese was so tasty and coupling it with fish cakes was a great idea! The kid's meals are also huge and priced right, but not available for take out? You can't box a grilled cheese or a burger for a child? Really? They serve beer! Which if you have to deal with the staff beyond the guys behind the counter then you NEED it, and that was also priced right. $3 for a Bud Light is a good deal, no denying that. They also have desserts and lots of choices. A clean, happy place with a really diverse menu.

Great Service, Large Portions, many options. Perfect for a family that all want something different. (Italian, Turkey Dinner, Roast Beef, Breakfast...) And if you're in a hurry, you'll never find a better place to sit down and have a meal and get in-and-out quick.

I have been here for breakfast twice. The first visit was a Friday morning around 8:30am, the line for food was so long I had to leave before I was able to order due to time contraints. The second time was a Tuesday morning around 7:30am and it was pretty quite. The cafeteria style ordering went fairly quickly and the prices were not too bad. I had an omlet with hom fries and toast and it was plenty of food. Overall it is not the cheapest and most delicious breakfast joint out there but I would recommend it to everyone and I will make a return trip.

I must've driven by the Restaurant a ton of times before deciding to stop in one day for breakfast. It's good quality sandwiches and diner-style food, served cafeteria style - placing your order at one side, and sliding your tray down, picking other stuff out of cases as you move along. They have a marvelous mouth-watering assortment of muffins available though - and they 'grill' them for you. The 'green' muffin they had on offer piqued my interest, so I had to try it - to my surprise and pleasure, it was pistachio flavored. They cut it in half, slather the exposed face with butter, and then throw it on the grill for you, just crisping the face to a golden brown. It's VERY good, and highly recommended. The only odd thing is that coffee refills are handled by going back up to the register to get a refill, and maneuvering through the people who're trying to check out - you have to reach across the checkout line to get cream and sugar which is a mite awkward. Otherwise, a great place to get a quick bite to eat - but be advised that it gets busy in the weekend mornings around brunch! My ratings: Food: Yummy diner food - breakfast and dinner Service: Cafeteria style service...good as far as that goes. Value: Reasonable value. Ambiance: Booths around the edge of the dining area, a few freestanding tables. A bit noisy, as you'd expect. Bottom line: Good, quick breakfasts and lunches, served cafeteria style by cheerful cooks and cashiers.

The Restaurant gets my vote. Nothing fancy, just good cafe style meals. I have been here 4 times now, all for breakfast. Each time had standard fares like omlettes, pancakes etc... 3 of those times were with my friends from out of town. They liked it so much the first time we went back 2 more times. The portions are bigs and the food is fresh. The service is good and the prices are low. Yeah for the The Restuarant. You guys got it right.

It's kind of a find in Woburn.... has a family-style atmosphere for a cafeteria style diner... After 10 years of living in the neighborhood -- my partner had actually not discovered this - till I met him :) So we breakfasted there a few times -- and you get your basic breakfast-y, diner-ish food in a modern, bright, sunny, family style restaurant setting. Props for the freshly baked muffins (our favourite is the pistachio nut muffin -- all toasted (with butter! decadent!!) on the grill before served ... makes for a nice slight crispy muffin top and warm, moist, perfectly baked cake -- to nibble at.... Cute place, nice prices, funny servers :)

The Restaurant and Bar is a very good place to eat around Woburn Center The breakfast used to be a lot of food for the price but I have been there many times and it seems that the prices have gone up and the portions have gone down I ve gone for lunch the other day with a friend and we got 2 sandwiches with fries and 2 bottles of water and it came to about 24.00 for the both of us for lunch I thought that was a little high I mean the portions of the sandwiches were pretty big but there were not a lot of fries

Cafeteria style, comfort food, with a few other genres. I wanted to give it at least 3 starts, but I couldn't. I had the gyro salad and a lot of the meat was dried out and crispy instead of moist. The funny thing was that I saw it by the grill and thought it didn't look great, but ordered it anyway. The pastichio was very good though. I'll give it another chance and hope for the best.

I was a bit worried about taking my very finicky sister here - she likes places with table cloths, contemporary light sconces, and knowledgeable waiters. And she leans towards food that have at least five competing flavors . I warned her by telling her it was cafeteria style. And that the menu tends towards fish and chips and shepherd pies. But she agreed to try it with me - and well, she now goes back regularly without me! This is all to say, the food here is fabulous. Don't expect to get seared tuna drizzled with sesame aioli but do expect to get yummy linguine with clams and a heaping side of string beans (if that's what you choose). As other reviewers have said, it's fabulous comfort food that is comfortable in all the right ways - yummy, enormous portions, and easy on the wallet. The cafeteria style is fine but the line is a bit daunting at first as the menu is HUGE and you are a bit pressured to make a decision as the line moves rather quickly. No wait staff but that's kinda nice if you want to take a break from that constant interruption of "how is your food?". But they will bring your food out to you if it isn't ready by the time you are at the end of the line. I've mostly been talking about dinner here but the breakfast may be even better. I have been several times for breakfast and the line on Sunday is outrageous. But as I mentioned, moves quickly.

i am obsessed with their chicken club sandwich here! it is the only thing i get. just the perfect chicken club sandwich, perfectly cooked and huge!i usually can only eat half there and take half home, and it never survives the night hahah fresh crisp lettuce, yummy tomotoe, perfectly cooked bacon, and the chicken is always made fresh and since its hot its kinda melts the whole sandwich.with a little bit of mayo.oh.my .god.heaven!!! everyone who works here is super nice and friendly and efficient. peter is my favorite, he is always welcoming and even remembers what i get. they also pay great attention to the kids, which i like and encourage them to order themselves and even make them special mickey mouse pancakes which i thought was nice their fries are good, but i usually subsitute the fries for a side of butternut squash- it is so so good! but its seasonal and they dont have it all the time, which breaks my heart. i love that they let you choose healthier options than the fries and its no problem. they serve a free thanksgiving meal on thanksgiving for people which i think is really great that they are giving back to their community. even when its mobbed in there the line moves fast. probably due to the caf style. the first time we went in there we were really confused about the layout, but it works. place is always immaculate and clean, and its casual comfortable in there with tvs and stuff. great place to hang out. parking can be a little tricky since its right on main st in woburn, but we always find parking eventually even if we have to walk a block or two. they have a ton of stuff on their menu. great variety. from traditional greek to classic american to italian, everyone can find something they want. like i said, i only get the chicken club ( you might say geez branch out! i say dont fix it if it aint broke!) but ive brought friends and family here and they all say there food is very good., prices are great! highly reccomend this place, this is one of my stand bys!

I love the restaurant. Always reminds me of Seinfeld when I go there. :) its also great portion sizes and a decent price. I like the cafeteria style ordering process, You dont have to wait for a waiter or anything. The food is good and ample seating! Right in Woburn Center!!! on the bus line from Wellington station. I had the baked macaroni (Yum) the Ziti With Meatballs (Double yum) and the chocolate cake and brownies (Triple Yum). Support the youth sports in Woburn, buy a $2 candy bar today :) Friendly staff and it seems to be a great local spot to get the local suburban flair.

I was introduced by a friend to "The Restaurant"'s gyro couple years ago, since then I have been frequently going to this place for breakfast, lunch and dinner. It is a cafeteria style restaurant, you can get what ever you like, how ever much you like, they will adjust the price. They got good blueberry pancakes but you need to buy "real" maple syrup. Mediterranean home cooked food is pretty good as well.

Comfort food at it's finest! This restarant is a no frills sort of place, very simple concept, cheap prices, more than generous portions, friendly staff, family run, and you will bet your little buddah belly - you will never walk out disappointed or hungry. Most likely you will be walking out with both change and at least a midnight snack or tomorrows breakfast. When you walk in you will notice it's cafeteria style service. First things first check the menu before you walk the line as you don't want to miss a thing. You are greeted by a friendly staff that will not only make you smile, but they really care to hear what you want and will make suggestions. There are the regular favorites that are served everyday as well as daily specials. All meals are homecooked & freshly prepared. No boxed mashed potatoes or powder cheese at this place. On some occasions when you order your food, you may have to sit and wait at your table. Ahhhhh now that's fresh. But don't worry they will give you some bread or a little salad to appease your tummy while you wait - which is never more than 10 minutes. I stopped here on Friday night with my family and we all chose something different. I had the squash filled raviolis served with an alfredo sauce - sided with a mini greek salad. My Dad went for the linguini and mussels also served with a greek salad - no shortage on the mussels here. My Step Mom had the Scallops served over Risotto - enough for the biggest of Italian families, and my brother had beef stew with a chicken kabob sandwhich - which looked more like a small boating craft. Even with his young just out of college appetite, he still had to bring home. When I don't opt for the specials - some of my favorite's have been the macaroni and cheese. Mmmm Mmm nice and cheesey pleasy - served with mashed potatoes, the Thanksgiving platter - say hello to Plymouth Plantation and the Peanut Butter and Fluff with with french fries. Beer/wine are offered as well as the Pepsi family of sodas, Milk and water selection. With all my favorite food places, even here you cannot go without dessert. Close your eyes when you eat it and you will feel like you are at Grammy's. Heh heh. Bonus, they serve breakfast, lunch and even cater. So throw on your comfy track suit and slippers and take a peep at this place. You will walk out in a state of euphoria. :) I know I always do.

Love the food and environment. SUPER friendly staff. Would give 5 stars if I could go there Sunday afternoons, they didn't run out of everything I am craving the day I m craving it and the prices were a tad better. Really do love it, though!

This is one of the only well priced homestyle restaurants left. Delicious breakfast, lunch AND dinner. Cafeteria style with a nice environment to sit, takeout also available. Baked haddock is my fav, but is a HUGE portion, share with a friend or bring the leftovers home. Good prices for the great quality and friendly service you will receive here. Even though I don't live close anymore, I will still try and return frequently.

I loved this place, I was in Woburn visiting my brother and he took me there for Dinner and Breakfast and they were both awesome. I was a little hesitant when he told me it was cafeteria style, but I've been to a cafeteria that gives so much great food. I got an awesome Pasta dish that I couldn't even finish, even though I loved every bite (I'm a big guy and hardly ever have leftovers). The next morning I had a huge omelet with delicious hash browns. The best part is that the prices were very reasonable, and the owner/cook seemed like a really nice guy.

i am a local and have been here before as they have my favorite ipa (harpoon) on tap, i never had an issue with the place before last night i went for mixed drinks yikes! never again! its a cool place and ambience is pretty good and i love that they have acoustic music, but if you want me to come there and drop 15 bux for a dirty martini that is MOSTLY OLIVE JUICE and barely a splash of grey goose, you have got to be smoking something! my pal got a margarita she ordered "patron margarita, no mixer, splash of cointreau and some lime juice" she got a splash of patron, no cointreau and a measly lime wedge garnish with a huge glass of oj! yeah, NO?!!!?? AND she was charged 17 bux for it!!!! they were both gross and we finished them (at those prices, we couldnt leave them!) and left and went to tremonte down the street and got yummy, well-made cocktails for under 10 bux i guess you (or i) could go there still and enjoy the music or have a harpoon ipa draft (almost 5 bux...) but the mixed beverages are a flat out rip off and gross, taboot!

Went here after bowling on a snow day. Exactly what we expected, filled our bellies, nothing to stellar. The best part is they do serve wine.

This place is terrific. We live nearby, and go there often. It is a neighborhood place, and there are many "regulars" there. Hours have expanded, now open B, L, D every day except major holidays. In addition, the public is welcome for a free Thanksgiving dinner 12 to 4 each Thanksgiving. It is run by siblings Peter (the head "chef" who takes your order, and shouts it to his assistants along the line, and Maria, who often staffs the cash register. They are Greek Americans who learned the business from their father, who operated the lunch counter in Boston's Park Square Building many years ago. The food is cafeteria style, a mixture of American, Greek, and Italian inspired comfort food, as well as breakfasts. HUUUGE portions. There is a huge selection. While it is not haute cuisine, there is something for everyone, from the abstemious to the gluttonous eater. Not everything is good, but the good things are really good. I recommend their souvlaki salad in a bowl or pita pocket (the mixture of the lettuce, house dressing, meat, and bread is alchemy), their tuna salad as a pocket or bowl (with their house dressing, if the latter). They have several really good side orders, including their carrots (huge sweet slices) and their "fancy" green beans (Greek style with onions, garlic, tomatoes, and olive oil). They have lemon chicken rice soup every day - a little too salty for me - but their beef stew and beef barley soup are excellent. I'd avoid their "wacky teriyaki" chicken sandwich, while their grilled chicken kebab pockets and salad are very good. Their "rib basket" is OK, the spaghetti and meatballs, occasional mac and cheese barely ok. Their coffee has a bottomless cup. The place is quite welcoming, the owners get to know you, and will not steer you wrong. I'd recommend it to anyone.

Breakfast all day! I'm sold! I love this place because they serve breakfast all day (even on the weekdays) and I also like that I can order a single pancake for $2.00. It's massive! It's better to get here early to beat the lunch rush and be able to snag a table. The food is always good. If you get the Mediterranean wrap, tell them to go light on the Feta. It becomes a bit salty with the olives and generous amount of feta and marinated chicken. I always feel rushed to order but it's only to keep the line moving. They recently renovated and offer drinks in the bar. I haven't been here in the evenings but I will definitely give it a try.

Stopped with the wife on the way from Winchester back to NYC. The Restaurant was somewhat recommended by our hotel. While the individual had not been, she mentioned that many of the hotel patrons go there. Upon arrival I noticed the dining area looks a lot larger inside than outside. Also of note is that service is cafeteria style (which left us standing by the door for a few minutes until we figured it out). Once aware, we headed over to the beginning of the line, got our trays, and placed our orders. Since it was breakfast, fare for the day included corn beef hash, pancakes and scrambled eggs with cheese. The pancakes were somewhat dense and basic. They required sopping amounts of syrup and didn't stand out in any particular area. The corn beef hash lacked flavor and was particularly greasy - I know that corn beef hash is fried and required grease, but this particular serving seemed to be oozing it and it showed in the greasy flavor. The eggs were prepared in a standard format with two slices of cheese melted on the top. I prefer my cheese mixed in with my eggs, but that wasn't happening. So, fairly standard food for fairly standard prices with some glaring items of concern. Two stars. I won't be back. When I do return to Winchester, I'll make sure to carve out more time and head to Cracker Barrel which is several more minutes in the opposite direction.

Awesome place to eat breakfast, lunch or dinner (but the breakfast is the best). Awesome portions and a ton of different selections. Very friendly owner that is always there behind the counter cooking.

WORST RESTAURANT EVER!!!! I just went for lunch, today. The owner was rude to me and yelled at me. I ordered a kids chicken meal, because I wasnt super hungry. NO WHERE on the menu was there an age restriction (I checked before ordering) after I ordered, he creepily looked at my body, up and down (pausing on my chest) and said, sarcastically "are you 12?". I was shocked and said "oh, I didn't know" and then looked to get something else, when he (with attitude) said "whatever, its fine this time". Okay, great. When I went to pay, the woman at the register hassled me about getting a kids meal for myself, and refused to give me the drink that came with the meal, because I was not under 12. My father was there, with my two younger brothers. We paid separately, and after she harassed me about my meal, she turned and started giving my father a hard time about HIS order as well. Basically, the owner is a huge jerk, and most of their staff is super rude, and I WILL NEVER come back here again. The lady who cleaned the table after us was nice though. Just not anyone else. So rude. I was upset my whole meal. I have never been treated so poorly or disrespectfully in my life.

This is a GREAT place for breakfast. (I have only been here for breakfast). The line moves fast and it's cafeteria style but the food is FANTASTIC!! I LOVE the French toast here - with home fries and sausage sometimes. They give you a lot so it can be hard to eat it all. It's good to have someone grab a table first while you order and pay because it gets crowded very quickly. The staff is always friendly here - another plus :-) BTW it's Handicapped accessible too. My Dad has no problem with his wheelchair and navigating about in The Restaurant.

A chaotic ordering process and slightly overpriced standard 3 eggs and bacon breakfast. First when I asked for 3 sunny side up eggs I waited 5 min then had to tell them again and have them put them on the grill. When I was confused about the price thinking it was 5.75 for 3eggs bacon coffee toast and hash browns. The woman at the counter then noticed I actually had 3 eggs and raised the price saying meat was extra. Ended up being 9.63 I would have gone to cousins if they were open.

I heard about Restaurant many times on Phantom Gourmet and since working in Woburn it was always on my mind. Yesterday we got a chance with 2 of my colleagues to visit that place for lunch. Man the place was packed to the brim. The Menu is not bad and i believe recently they have also added a bar which was also packed with all the guys in shirts and ties. So the menu to start out is pricey. There are lots of choices though and the quantity is def dinner size and not lunch so kinda balances out the pricey part but still if it would have been $1.50 cheaper than it would be a gem of a place. This place is a cafeteria style where you grab a big tray and forks and knives etc etc and move on and start ordering. Ordering is very fast paced and you should know what you want otherwise you would be holding up the line. There are plenty of choices. I went with chicken parm and friends went with meatloaf plate and gyro wrap. I got a soda and total came to $14.50 ish. But the chicken was freshly fried and cooked in a def homemade marinara sauce and not a some ready BS type of sauce. The taste of sauce was unique and different and it was quite nice. Friends loved their food as well. They serve some stuff on the table while some you pick on the line. NO problem and service is quick too. It is a great place for lunch and dinner for that matter and breakfast menu was very tempting. I think we found a good place but three stars only because it is a bit pricey. Overall def worth the visit and the breakfast is on the list for next time.

The Restaurant has returned to it's original roots and we're happy. Grab a tray and tell Peter what you would like. Home cooked and hearty meals served from the steam table and cooked to order meals. I had a BBQ 1/2 chicken with rice and a greek salad. My son had the Bourbon Turkey Tips, greek salad and green beans in a tomato sauce. Everything was great. We did like their upscale experiment in dining but we are so glad that The Restaurant is back to doing what it does best.

Went here last minute in Sunday for breakfast . The cafeteria style can get a little backed up during a busy time but the food was super yummy! Staff was VERY nice too. Not something you usually see anymore. Seems family owned (which is GOOD) I had eggs with homemade hash- there HAD to be about a pound of it on my plate- so good and hard to finish it all. Prices are on par with other places in the area. The bar looked like it could be fun at night but probably swarming with people who make it their 'local' watering hole but totally willing to try the place for dinner and rinks too.

Very impressed with this cool restaurant and bar in Woburn Center. I've only ate at the bar and the menu was good and their were lots of things I wanted to try, which will definitely inspire me to return in the future. Our bartender Dave was friendly, responsive and quick to make recommendations... All of which were great. Warm bread w/ Romesco Sauce - Nice way to start the meal, the bread was perfectly warm and the sauce was a great change of pace from the usual butter. Salmon - Pretty cooked salmon in a marinate. Nothing to spectacular or extraordinary, just a good piece of fish. Spicy Truffle Fries - I love truffle fries and I sometimes enjoy spicy fries. The flavors on this one seem to fight each other more than they go together. BBQ Pulled Pork w/ Corn Salsa - This was the highlight of the meal. The pork was tender, sweet, and delicious. It even had a crunch to it, maybe it was fried pork skin. The corn salsa was also a great compliment. This was a very messy sandwich though.

Service: staff is friendly but that is about all I can review. The restaurant is a counter service style place. You put your order in with the chefs and pickup from the counter. Expo: N/A - though during rushes someone may run your food to your table to keep the line moving Drinks: they have a bar now. They offer a pretty staple variety of spirits and beer / wine. Food: the thing I love about their food is it's simple, straightforward, and consistent. Nothing overly shines on this menu but it reminds me of home. Value: huge portions and reasonable prices Summary: When I'm looking for a simple, delicious meal the restaurant is my first stop

Great lunch spot for a quick but not fast food meal. Went here with a large group of coworkers, making the cafeteria style ideal so we didn't have to worry about split checks or the orders taking a long time because we were such a large party. The first thing I noticed about The Restaurant was the really large menu selection. They had everything from Reubens to pasta to wraps to soups to pot roast. I ordered a turkey Reuben with fries and it was awesome. Huge portions of both. Out of the 10ish people in our party, not one person said anything negative about their meal. Several people ordered the steak salad and it looked amazing. I don't usually order salads when I go out to eat, but I will definitely be ordering that next time I visit. The staff was very nice and accommodating to special orders, from what I could tell. Prices are also not bad. A home cooked lunch for under $10 is hard to come by, but definitely doable at The Restaurant. They also had daily lunch specials that were priced at about $7-10 each. The food came out quickly and everything tasted fresh. I will definitely return, probably frequently.

Happened to be in the Woburn area and used Yelp to find a good spot to grab a bite to eat. This place looked well received so I took a shot. Always like checking out new places. I guess it's more of a cafeteria style comfort food during the day but at night it's more bar and upscale food. Suited me just fine. When I walked in the kitchen was shutting down due to a slow night but the bartender who's name I can't remember asked the kitchen and VOILA I was able to order the rib eye with spinach. Very happy I did. It was delish! They also have a great selection of whiskeys with a bartender who definitely knows the difference among them. I will definitely be back one of these days. The only so so thing was bar closes kinda early for this city girl and it's a little too bright for my liking but otherwise I liked this place.

Great food but they don't use gloves. Order breakfast and watch the cooks bare hand your bread and bacon. Just not sanitary, but no complaints on the food.

Um...NO! My wife and I went here for breakfast (after several neighbors recommending it, especially for the first meal of the day). I was disappointed instantly. The cafeteria style line (which I hate) moved slower than the average age of it's inhabitants (which says something). It took us about 15 minutes to get through the line (there were 8 people in front of us. 8!). That's about the first time I was really able to check out there menu (standard diner breakfast). The prices were decent, about the only saving grace. I had a bacon and cheese omelette and my wife had a egg and cheese sandwich on a bagel. We had to yell it at the cook (he yelled at us first) twice as he was busier joking with the regulars (older men and women who were ordering the eggbeaters because they were feeling adventurous). My wife had to remind him not to put meat on the sandwich (being a vegetarian and all). I watched as my homestyle potatoes were pulled off a large, pre-made pile. They sucked. My omelette was VERY greasy. My wife's sandwich was VERY greasy. I don't think I've explained how oily/greasy this was. We not only felt like crap for the rest of the day, but really for the rest of the weekend. We also split a short stack of pancakes, but left almost all of them on the table when we left (yep, even those were underwhelming). The syrup was probably "maple flavored" since it definitely was not true maple. Beside the crappy feeling that remained for the rest of the weekend, we also couldn't get over how utterly terrible the coffee was. Just horrible. And the only creamer option was those little pre-measured plastic, un-refrigerated thimbles. I will not return. I recommend somewhere, pretty much anywhere, else.

We were recommended to eat here by the staff at the Crown Plaza Hotel, when their restaurant was closed. It's a local place down the road from the Hotel. A break from the chain restaurants, and over-priced places. It was great. They were fine with special requests, and mixing and matching. Kind of like home cooking. Cheap by Boston standards. Cafeteria style--you stand up to order and they bring the food to you. Have a seat at the bar if you want to meet and chat with the friendly locals. Will stop in again next time in the area. Wish there was one of these in my neighborhood.

Food was good but it's not a typical restaurant where they serve you, it's a cafeteria style restaurant with a bar on the side. I had the lamb souvlaki and it was delicious. Had a lot of feta but no tzatziki but it did not matter because it tasted really good.

Went back to The Restauraunt & The Bar this past Friday night. I was impressed! They opened up the bar which is a fun, young atmosphere and the Manager/Bartender there - a young guy with glasses, I think his name is Peter - was a joy! I will go back just to see him!! Food was good, drinks were perfect. Can't wait to check it out again.

Born and bred in Woburn, have been going to this place ever since it first opened. The cafeteria side still remains one of the best restaurants in the city but "the bar" side of this place is an absolute joke. I walked in with 6 of my buddies and were pretty much ignored for 15-20 minutes by some 21 year old bartender who was too busy catering to all the "regulars." Not to mention the fact that these 50-55 year old losers who are regulars at this place were mean mugging us from the second we walked in. If you are looking for a place to get a beer, don't go here. Absolute trash of a crowd.

I didn't like the cafeteria style set up. The food was very bland and made with cheap ingredients. Coffee was terrible. I can make a much tastier (and cheaper) breakfast at home. I will not be returning.

Cafeteria style restaurant. Friendly helpful staff. I had the mac and cheese with fish cakes. I thought it was really yummy. Enough mac and cheese for 3 people. The rest of my family really enjoyed it as well. Would definitely come back.

Honestly, my family and I used to go here pretty regularly when we moved to Woburn. The food was good, people were friendly, and parking wasn't too bad. I like spending my money in the local community, too. After a while I noticed it wasn't the cheapest place in the world, and then something happened that stopped me from going altogether. They used to give out incentive cards that they'd punch after after each meal over a dollar amount. After 8 or so visits you got a free meal. Well I had about 6 punched, and they refused to punch my card saying,"We have stopped that program" or something to that effect. Now if you choose to discontinue the program, wouldn't it make complete sense to just stop issuing out new cards and honor the existing ones?!? Exactly. Would have been four stars easy before that happened.

Was on a business trip with my husband and found this amazing place on Yelp. Everything from start to finish was great. We ate at The Bar and were greeted by the Bartender who recommended some really yummy wines. My husband ordered the Bell and Evans Chicken which was served on a bed of mashed potatoes with garlic Au jus and oyster mushrooms. It was beautifully presented and delicious. I had eaten earlier so I only ordered a side of Parmesan Risotto which turned out to be the best I have ever eaten. It was creamy with fresh herbs and shaved Parmesan. To die for! They also have live entertainment which we were sorry to have missed.

It's just like lunch time at high school all over again... except this time I'm much cooler than I was back then B) Walk in, order food, let the staff cook it up for you, and breakfast/lunch/dinner is served. My question is what is the overall purpose of this? I'd rather be seated, have a cup of coffee while my food is being prepared, and flirt with a friendly diner staff member in front of my girlfriend to make her overcome with jealousy (I'm going to hell). This experience is so informal and it actually lead to mistakes being made in preparation of my order. Part of my order was mixed up with someone else's. Grrrrr... The food itself was really good. I had two eggs with corn beef hash. Hard to mess that order up, and this place gets points for doing it well like LL Cool J and for serving up a good portion. I really enjoyed the home fries too. I plan on coming back one day to check out "The Bar" next door. Looks like a trendy spot, and I wouldn't mind experiencing it. I'll even consider going in for lunch another time... with my high school jacket, of course.

We've always liked The Restaurant, mainly for breakfast & an occasional dinner, so were excited when The Bar opened. This has become one if our go-to places. The service is spectacular, a few times we walked in & it looked like there was nowhere to sit so we began to leave. The manager came right over & found us a spot. They remember what we ordered the last time & make suggestions on what they think we may like. They do change their menu frequently, but everything we've ever ordered there was very good. I'm not a fan of the live music, in a smaller establishment such as this it can make conversation difficult. If you haven't tried The Bar, I recommend you do. It's a great place for casual dining.

we had dinner here last night for the first time. I have to say we were pleasantly surprised. First of all, the people that work here are super nice. The guys behind the line made great suggestions. Food is fresh, quick and affordable. Great for kids. Amazing you can order completely different types of food at the same location. I had a Greek Salad w Spinach Pie, the kiddies had pasta & meatballs & the hubby had fish & chips. really good spinach pie btw.
