I love the convenience of this place. I can get gas, a car wash and coffee. They have occasionally messed up my order but they gladly fixed it. I've always found them very friendly.

Drive-thru scam. Avoid at all costs! I asked for a medium coffee, got small but was charged for medium. Next day, was overcharged $1. Bought 1 medium coffee and 1 muffin, $3.70. Should have been $3.41. They never give you a receipt nor do they ask you if you want a receipt. I wonder why. If you go here, please always, always ask for a receipt. I suspect there is some sort of scam going on here big time and the employees are all on it. They should all go to jail for this.

It''s a Dunkin Donuts at a small drive through location (which used to be a bank branch) on the busiest street in Winthrop. It is what it is. If you don't like it there's two more within 2 miles, one in Winthrop and one around the corner in East Boston. I've never had a problem here with service or food....Yeah traffic sucks but it's ALWAYS sucked on that street even BEFORE DD was there. I'm just glad it's really close to where I live.

This is the most POINTLESS DD ever....it causes pathetic traffic every morning. So much so that a police officer has to stand in front from 7 am til who knows...10?? directing traffic out of DD. I cannot believe what a great location for business but horrible for the already congested one road out of winthrop. I'll admit..i used this DD, but only during late afternoon when you dont have to wait IN THE STREET and cause TRAFFIC. There is another one ont he same road not far at all and one in east boston...why this one?! Its needs to go buh bye.

Worst service ever.. the drive thru is a joke its more like drive up and wait till there ready to take ur order. So slow.

I am giving this D/D one star for the same reason that the last 2 guys gave it one star!! It is in the worst location and causes a huge traffic nightmare, and the cop who directs traffic actually gives their customers right of way, when leaving!!!

I'm not a fan of DD in the first place. It offers me nothing that I eat or drink, so I just don't go. BUUUUUT this particular DD drives me nuts. It's on the main street leaving Winthrop and the patrons of the DD feel the need to block the street so they can get coffee. The parking lot holds about 4 cars so 99% of the traffic is waiting in the street for the drive though. DD has been fined and threatened to be shut down a few times, but nothing changes, their customers are always blocking traffic. The cop who stands out front does nothing other than stop me to let someone out of DD. That drives me crazy!!! I normally would not get this upset about a stupid thing like this but there are TWO other DD within a 1/2 mile of this one! You can almost see them! They both have parking lots 10 times the size of this one. Please GO TO ANOTHER DD!!!! I will never give DD a cent of my money ever again.

this is the closest dunks to me, i can see it from every window in my house, walk to it in 3 minutes. traffic at this location is ridiculous. never any spots ( i usually get gas at mobil & run over to dunks while still parked at the pump) or i sit for several minutes in a drive-thru line that spills into main street which more often than not, blocks cars from getting in & out of the pumps at the mobil gas station. the rent a guard - i mean officer patrolling traffic makes it worse. i mean, what dunks has an officer directing traffic. sadly, thats a huge waste of taxpayers dollars - this guy is raking in the dough - no pun intended- for overtime just to direct traffic for the people who come here & get shitty tasting coffee & shitty customer service. whether i walk-in or go drive-thru my order is pretty simple, i get a medium iced caramel swirl, 5 pumps of caramel, extra cream. they always ask if i want sugar. i say no. (not for nothing, if i dont say anything about sugar, then why even ask? i doubt anyone would forget to ask or oder sugar in their coffee. i mean i never say "coffee" when i order. so do you ask if i want coffee in my medium iced.....? im not just getting 5 pumps of caramel & extra cream in a med cup of ice!!) i always ask for extra napkins ( i need to shake my coffee to mix up the caramel) . get 1. i guess 1 is extra when you get none right? So i have to ask for extra extra extra napkins & tell them that i need alot because i have to shake my coffee, then usually it spills all over me & the car because they fill it up too much & let it drip down the sides & they never clean it off before handing it over to me. ( i wouldnt be surprised if they start charging for extra napkins like they do for hot cups!!) since i get the same type of iced coffee every time it should taste the same every time right? wrong!!!! EVERY time it tastes different!! i went there last week and ordered my usual, and the guy gave me pumpkin iced coffee w/extra cream. i went through the drive-thru & since it was rush hour & i was running late to be somewhere, i paid w/my card, got my receipt & put the coffee & napkins in the middle console of the car. I drove about 10 minutes on the highway until i finally came to a stop light & was able to shake up my coffee. i took a sip of it & realized it was not only not even close to what i ordered but nasty tasting! there was no caramel in it. i hate pumpkin. So i stop at the closest dunks & w/my receipt (usually i dont even take it from them but that day i did bc i was rushing & running late) i explained to the lady what happened & she said she couldnt give me a new drink bc it was not the same dunks. really? so youre saying i cant get my drink, that i paid for, fixed bc im at a different location? thats a load of bullshit if ive ever heard it! i shouldnt have to pay twice to get my coffee made right. so later that afternoon i went back to the dunks in winthrop. i asked for the manager & in short, she apologize, gave me a free iced coffee - the correct way, & it tasted perfect!!!!! but this dunks NEVER gets my order correct even though i get it daily. they dont even remember what i get after coming in every single day. theyre not friendly theyre not happy to be working there sometimes im the only one in the store & theres no line in the drive-thru yet i have to wait like 5 minutes for someone to take my order while there are like 6 or 7 employees standing behind the counter back there .... try to avoid this dunks just for the mere fact that they fuck up every order. i should never have to order the same thing everyday and have it taste different everyday, nor should anyone working there get pissed when you ask them to fix the order that they fucked up. who manages or runs this location? there should be someone checking into these complaints that are made. talk about terrible customer service!

Love all these 1-star reviews because of the traffic backups. Yes, it's a small shop located in a not so great area traffic-wise. I've lived in this town my whole life...the traffic problems at the bridge (and beyond) were there long before DD opened. A long time ago it was a bank and there were the same issues with the same police details on heavy banking days. However, the current bridge construction doesn't help. It's a Dunkin Donuts. Is it supposed to be the world's greatest? I hope not. They do screw up orders on a somewhat regular basis. I guess I've learned to live with it and still stop every morning on my way out of town.

This dunks seriously NEVER gets it right!! I rarely go there for this reason. Today I ordered 3 coffees, they got 2 right and omitted the Splenda on the side of the 3rd. Not bad for them Ordered 1 bagel, 1 muffin and a chocolate glazed donut Got the muffin, a chocolate donut and NO bagel! This is fairly typical. I paid for the bagel, they never make mistakes getting their $ Not sure if they're all idiots or if it's deliberate?? Haven't read the other reviews yet, but, no doubt, they are similar, Imdoubt I'm the only one that has these problems.

This one is poorly located as it has way too much traffic coming in and out of it on a heavily traveled route, just over a bridge, so not a lot of room to drive around. They always have to have a police officer outside directing traffic. They are usually fairly quick despite this. HOWEVER.... The worst problem is they are NOTORIOUS for screwing up even simple orders. You have to constantly remind them of what was in your order and always check your bag when you leave. I don't know how many times I walked home with totally the wrong order. When there is a problem they aren't usually too nice about you having them correct the order. Not sure if she is a manager or just a supervisor there, but there's one leading lady there who is not very nice when you tell her the staff screwed up your order. I don't live or visit Winthrop too often anymore, so I avoid this location altogether. The one on Bennington Street in East Boston is much better at getting orders right and even if they make a mistake they are nice about it.

Stopped by on a Saturday morning around 10am. Was surprised to find the mythical chocolate kreme donut so rare in the Boston area for whatever reason. By far my favorite DD donut. I get around to eating them an hour later - and they had to be the 2 stalest donuts I've ever had in my life. They tasted like they were from last week. Terrible.

I haven't been in a couple of years but with the bad weather, I figured I would try. That's just what I remembered. Go to honey dew...wonderful people with fresh coffee

One Star because I can't give it no stars! I am not generally a DD fan but I got a gift card and thought, OK- I'll try it. It was a Saturday afternoon and I was heading to CVS and the drive thru was not crowded so I slid in and waited to place my (VERY SPECIFIC) order. Here's how it went: Me: Hi! I'd like a medium ICED Toasted Almond. 1/2 coffee, 1/2 cream. 4 Splenda. Her: Large? Me: No. Medium please. Her: You want that light? Me: (Thinking) Yeah.. I did say HALF CREAM didn't I?? Me: (Speaking) Yes. 1/2 cream, 1/2 toasted almond coffee. Her: Drive up Arriving at window.... Her: That's 3.62 (as she hands me a large very dark iced coffee) Me: Um- I said medium, 1/2 coffee, 1/2 cream. That looks like a large, with skim. Her: EYE ROLL, ATTITUDE. She dumps half of it out, adds cream and still charges me for a large. I was so annoyed, I just handed her my gift card and got the hell out of there. Got to CVS parking lot. Tasted it. It was bitter and no toasted almond. Disappointed on so many levels. NEVER NEVER again- And to reiterate everyone else- The traffic there SUCKS during PEAK coffee buying time. (I wouldn't wish that drive by on anyone!) There are PLENTY of competent Dunkins out there. Skip this one- at ALL costs!

Without a doubt the worst service establishment of an established chain on the planet. Nevermind the over-hyped traffic complaint. The real issue is the staff and supply issues. They are ALWAYS out of whatever it is you seem to want - croissants, bagels, donuts. They ALWAYS get the order wrong. (ask for iced get hot, ask for cream get black, ask for cream cheese ON your bagel, they repeat "ON it", then give you the tub on the side anyway), and more often than not you drive away to find the wrong order in your bag. And until recently they would not tell you your total at the window - just hold out their hand for money and it always seemed to cost a different amount for the same order from day to day (they have recently installed a digital price display at the window after several complaints to the AGs office about price discrepancies.) Basically they are too busy to get to at the times of day you need coffee and they never have anything in stock except coffee. Take the time to go to the highlands location or the heights and get out of the car. You do yourself no favors at this location. UPDATE _ got dragged thru as a passenger the other day - they are back to the 'no totals' and not using the display. unreal.

Not a fan of this Dunks... I lived in Winthrop for 3 years and my work hours are either early AM or late PM. But I could never get a coffee on the way to work because their hours weren't like most Dunks. I don't know what time they close, but it's definitely before 11pm. When they are open the traffic is horrific! When the drive thru fills up the line spills on to the street, which is already a narrow, main road with pretty heavy traffic (for Winthrop's standards). The DD parking lot only has 4-5 spots, but again if the drive thru is full don't even attempt to get in there.

Ugh. I live in Winthrop and am forever going through this drive-through (convenient in the bad weather, with my sleeping kid in the back seat). I never give a bad review, unless I've given multiple chances to the place, and if I really didn't like the product or service. This Dunkin Donuts has consistently given me the worst coffee I've ever had. The last straw: I asked for a medium regular iced coffee this morning, and got several (several!) ice cubes, in a really bitter coffee, and it didn't have much cream in it either. Killed my day before it even started. Last week, I waited for 14 (!) minutes in the drive-through (7 of those were after I placed my order, and another 4 when I got to the window!). All I had ordered that day were a med iced coffee, and a side of those little hash browns. The hash browns took so long, I considered leaving without them, but I had already paid. I'm not a huge Dunkin Donuts fan lately, since I feel like their coffee is getting worse, the more food and fancy coffee items they add to their menu. I will not be coming back to this location, wasting my money and ruining my mornings. I would much rather spend another couple of dollars, and go further up to Starbucks, where I get the same perfect cup every time, at every location, even in other countries. Sorry, Dunkies. You've lost a fan.
