It is no secret that I love the fuck out of a Chicago Style dog. During my Bi-annual visits to the actual Windy City, I suck them down at an alarming rate: it is as if I have recently emerged from some sort of coma- and my recovery is entirely dependent upon the consumption of Vienna beef and all the fixin's. I have been waiting for a time to give WCE a shot, and a beautiful fall afternoon frolicking around with the wolf and famalam at Stodder's Neck was just that. The dogs are as good/close as you are gonna get to an actual Chicago dog in New England. The accoutrements all boasted perfect balance, with a legit kick to the hots that is absent in some dogs. Great balance of meat, to crunch, to zest to soft poppy seed bun. The missus took down a colossal corn dog, kind of as a lark - (which it definitely was histerical), looked all the part of an enormous deep fried phallys- but dined on a steak sandwich (not Italian beef, just Boar's Head grilled steak and peppers) which she loved. The proprietor, Grady, was cool as hell, gracious relaxed and happy to chat it up about his former home town and wax longingly about the best dogs on earth. If I owned a successful Chicago dog outlet, I assume I would be as jovial and friendly as this dude. -1 star for almost non-existent seating. But thats about it. Ill clearly be finding my way back to WCE- even if it is a hike from the city

I was hanging out at home last week, drinking coffee, surfing Yelp, (obviously), and watching TV. Change the channel to Phantom Gourmet to find out about a Chicago Hot Dog place in Weymouth. WEYMOUTH?!?! Must be too goo to be true. Check the place out on Yelp, and see the five stars. I promise myself to go as soon as possible. Fast forward to lunch time today. The place is tiny, no frills, the owner is super friendly. I get a Chicago dog... Two of them. Yummy Vienna hot dog on a poppy seed bun with mustard, neon green relish (WTF IS THIS?), tomato, peppers, chopped onions and a pickle spear on top. Wow. Seriously deliciously divine hot dog. I ate one, pretty full, but couldn't wait to get my hands on my second one. The poppy seed bun is so much better than the traditional hot dog bun. Love the fresh tomato and pickle spear on top. It just adds such another dimension to the Hot Dog. Boo-Boo had an Italian sausage and a Chili Cheese dog. Was satisfied with both. Tried the Italian and it was good, but nothing could break me away from my Chicago dog. Seriously, I think I might be obsessed now. We split an order of Chili Cheese fries with onion on top. Delicious! But I might have been a bit too preoccupied with my Chicago dog to really break away. Deliciously stuffed in the highest meaning of the word. Love that this place is in Weymouth, love that they have pretty much nothing but variations on Hot Dogs, and love the fact that the Hot Dogs are delicious.

The Chicago dogs here seem to be getting better and better, and better.

Being that I am from Chicago made Windy City Eats a must. After all, Carl Sandberg did not call Chicago hog butcher of the world for nothing. I was a bit skeptical at first, but started to feel good about things as we pulled up and saw the Vienna beef umbrellas. I knew I was in the right place when I saw the 2010 Chicago Blackhawks Stanley Cup Champs banner behind the counter. I thought to myself, all this guy needs is a 16 inch softball (look it up and you will understand why), and a six pack of Old Style it would be just like home. I ordered a combo (Italian beef and sausage). Before I could even say it, he asked if I wanted it hot (put giardiniera peppers on it) and wet (dip the sandwich in the Italian beef juice). It is as healthy as it sounds. Being that it is in Weymouth, and I do not get down there that often, I figured I should also order a Chicago style dog. I was impressed with the neon green relish, and celery salt that was on my dog. I laughed as the owner told me a tale of a local eatery that advertised a "Chicago style dog" that had mayo on it. I know the locals in Boston say their Fenway frank is great, but in comparison, it is crap. It would be like me telling someone from Boston that local New England Clam chowder is the same as the Campbells soup clam chowder. So while many will hmmm and haw about nothing being as good as a Fenway Frank, take the 25 minute drive to Weymouth and decide for yourself.

This hot dog joint was great. Vienna hot dogs from Chicago had a nice snap to them. Got the Chicago dog and it was delicious. More like a grab and go place . Seating outside

I love the fact that Windy City Eats exists more than I loved the food they serve. By exposing hot dog lovers in Massachusetts to the joys of the Chicago-style hot dog, Windy City Eats is providing a good and necessary service. Further, they offer a solid Chicago-style dog: all the elements are here, and in their right place. No longer is Spike's Junkyard dog the closest (but still distant) approximation of a Chicago-style dog in Boston. Windy City Eats offers the real thing, Vienna Beef and all. And since a Chicago-style hot dog is something every lover of encased meats should try at least once, I seriously recommend Windy City Eats. But having just returned from a hot dog-heavy trip to Chicago, I was a little let down by the fairly standard, somewhat lackluster hot dog I received at Windy City Eats. Again, let me emphasize that Windy City serves a 100% authentic Chicago-style dog. This is the standard version you'd purchase from a street vendor near Lake Michigan...and that's my main complaint. If Windy City was in Wilmette rather than Weymouth, it wouldn't be anything special. My veggies didn't taste especially fresh, and my tomato slice (only one) was pale. Again, the ingredients were correct, but not exceptional...and therein lies the difference between a decent and a mind-blowing Chicago-style dog. There are ways to serve a superior Chicago-style dog without altering the constituent parts. I also ordered the Maxwell Street Polish with a side of sauerkraut. The polish sausage was decent, and the sauerkraut was unexceptional. Again, these may seem like minor complaints, but they make the difference between a good hot dog joint and a great hot dog joint. I was excited to see that they're now serving tamales (of which some Chicago variations do exist). I don't know if this is a temporary thing, but I'd like to go back and try them. And yes, I will most likely be back to Windy City Eats, especially when my craving for a Chicago-style dog inevitably returns. If you live in the Boston area and haven't yet been initiated into the sublime world of the Chicago-style dog, this is the place to go.

The easiest 5 star rating I've ever given, if only because it cuts the distance between me and my beloved Italian beef sandwiches by 800 miles or so. I really feared it would be months or years before I had one again, after eating my weight in them on a recent trip to Chicago, but here they are, sort of right in my backyard. The sandwich was simply massive, and I didn't even get the combo, which finds a way to cram a whole grilled Italian sausage in among all the shaved beef, peppers and cheese. Dripping with sauce (always order it wet) and slightly spiced, it went down easy - too easy, as I almost turned around and bought another one for the road before being talked down by the Lady Friend. Needless to say, I also got a Chicago style dog, as an "appetizer" as well. Perfectly made, with properly distributed toppings, nicely snappy Vienna dog. Had a nice chat with the garrulous and friendly owner, Grady. We talked Chicago eats, which got around to Los Angeles eats when I mentioned that the only two places I'd move to just for food were Chicago and LA, the latter for In n Out Burger, obviously. He then filled me in on the epic, soap-opera-esque family saga of In N Out Burger, which is the subject of a recent tell all behind the scenes type book... Sounds absolutely fascinating. Anyway, thanks for the eats, Windy City, and the stimulating conversation. Now... just find another, bigger location, with indoor seating, and I'll be down weekly all winter. If not, see you in the spring!

For not being in a major city or Chicago itself this is the best of this type of cuisine you will find in Weymouth or surrounding area.

  • Ross S.

This place serves unbelievable authentic Chicago Style Dogs. The owner gets every single ingredient imported from Chicago where he lived. I need not describe it. Just go and try one for yourself. Just make sure you grab it to go because there is little seating in the winter time. In the summer you can sit outside. But who gives.... just sit in your car and scarf!

This place has got so much going for it. It's cute, close to my house, family run, and churns out hands down the best hot dogs I've ever had. As a native New Englander, I'm used to a certain style of hot dog. Mainly the kind that are overcharred on the grill by my uncle on memorial day, smothered in ketchup and mustard, and surrounded by a soggy bun made of white bread. But as Windy City Eats, you enter an entirely different world where Chicago dogs rule the land and flavor is oozing out of every choice on the menu. Among my favorites are the Chicago Dog (onions, tomatoes, celery salt, hot pepper, lime-green relish), and the Maxwell Street Polish (grilled onions, hot mustard). The hot dogs are thick, and snap when you bite into them. The fries are good, but the onion rings particularly stand out as excellent. The owner, his wife, or his son are the only people I've seen staffing the place. Their passion is refreshing. Honestly, there's nothing like people who love what they do. Be sure to leave a dollar bill to put up on the wall, this place is worth the trip from anywhere in the Boston area.

Chicago Hotdog, Polish Sausage, one order of fries and two cokes under $12. Sweet deal!! The employee was nice enough to even bring our food out when it was ready. Pros: Cheap and Awesome Food. Tons of parking around back too. The dog and sausage came loaded with all good stuff on top too. Cons: There is maybe three stools inside the place and four tables outside. During the rain or cooler months there would be no seating just as a warning. There is a collection of one dollar bills signed hanging around the place not sure the story behind it but pretty cute. Also if you want just down the street is Whitman's pond with benches so you could eat your food down by the water.

Best hot dog I've ever had. And, the chili cheese fries make my mouth water when I think about them. Awful location, though. And, when it's not summer there's no where to eat there (they only have outside seating).

So I was having a massive hot dog dog craving (all because my family decided we were NOT having hot dogs and hamburgers at our 4th of July BBQ -don't ask). I looked on Yelp and decided to give Windy City Eats a go. It didn't disappoint! The place is tiny with outdoor umbrella seating. Slightly more than a foodstand because you do go inside to order. Plenty of parking around back. After talking with the owner Grady, I learned that they have been open three years and they are the only place in Massachusetts that serves Vienna Beef hot dogs. When it was my turn I said I wanted whatever was the most popular. I ended up getting the Chicago Dog and I can honestly say it was the best hot dog that I have ever had! It came in a poppy seed bun with "the works" - mustard, relish, onion, tomato, pickle, sport peppers, celery salt. It may sound a little strange but it was so tasty. The hot dog was crispy and jucy and perfectly hot. Oh, and the best part? A Chicago Dog costs a whopping $2.75 :-) I was so satisfied, I went back the next day and ordered the Maxwell Street Polish which is a deep fried sausage with grilled onions and spicy mustard. I wasn't turned off by the deep fried part when Grady explained to me that it just crisps up the casing and leaves the inside jucy. Again it was perfect! I can't wait to go back and try something new although the Chicago Dog may be calling my name. Highly recommend!

5 stars for the hot dogs 3 stars for the rest of the menu. They know their hot dogs here and you get super friendly service. I absolutely love their Chicago dog and have yet to try a dog here I have not liked. Definitely worth a trip if you have not been here.

Unless you hate hot dogs entirely, there's going to be something here that you like. I had never tried a Chicago dog and had ignored Windy City Eats until some late night Food Network show all about hot dogs got me interested. So I went to try the Chicago dog and I'm hooked. These are easily the best hot dogs on the East Coast. Just go and you'll see what I mean. Also, as everyone has already said, the owner is fantastic and the prices are dirt cheap. Go get lunch there today.

I found out about this spot via the Vienna Beef iPhone app (yes, there's even an app for that!) that searches for the closest place serving their brand of dog. This place was everything I thought it would be and more... Chicago-style hot dogs and Italian Beefs and Polish sausage AND I don't have to hop on a plane to enjoy them all? Sign me up! (Or drive me to Weymouth.) They have a great selection for the encased meat aficionado to enjoy and it's all the real deal, and a good deal at that. We ordered two Chicago dogs, an Italian Beef, a Maxwell Street Polish sausage, an order of fries to share, and two cans of soda = exactly $20.00 (inc. tax). The bf said the Italian beef (ordered wet, of course) wasn't as good as what we had in Chicago though - the quality of the meat just wasn't there - but he still scarfed it down. But the dogs... Oh, those glorious dogs... Definitely worth putting up with the I-93 for.

At long last I have found you.. well in reality I found you some months ago but today is the first day we ever came face to face. You're beautiful.. don't change. It's been a while since I've had a Chicago Dog, being from Chicago it was always one of those things that I sorta took for granted. I could get one any time I wanted.. what was the big deal over a poppy seed bun, neon green relish, sport peppers, and of course celery salt? Then I moved to MA. They don't even have real hot dog buns in MA.. what's up with that? Anyway, I stopped in today.. the owner, who's from Chicago gets everything sent over from the Windy City.. "Gasp! Vienna Beef!!".. he loads the dog up with everything that's awesome about a chicago dog, and if there isn't a line going out the door, he engages in a little chit chat.. nice dude. The dogs taste like home, and I would eat there every day if I had my druthers. You see, they also have Polish Sausage (pronounced "Sarsage") Italian Beef (with hot and sweet peppers), and some of the best fries around. I'll most definitely be back, and I would highly recommend you, dear reader also pay a visit. A+ all around.

Everyone has said it all- a true hidden gem with VERY tasty food, great prices and an owner that proves how much he cares about his product. What more could you ask for? This is the only place that has ever convinced me to try relish or hots on a hotdog. But man, it is GOOD. Trust them on the toppings- they may seem weird, but they WORK! Steak & cheese is good, chili cheese fries are GREAT and the only problem you'll have when you go here is not ordering one of everything on the menu. Two thumbs way up!

This is by far the BEST hot dog joint in the area! My husband and I eat here at least once a week. My favorite hot dog is the dogfather chili cheese dog. It's made with the Vienna Beef spicy dog. I am not usually a fan of spicy foods, but this hot dog rocks! They are open 6 days a week, closed on Mondays. They also offer catering. Run, don't walk to Windy City Eats. You won't be disappointed.

Best... hotdogs... EVAH!!! This is the real deal, folks. Owned by a real Chicagoan who decided to bring Chicago-style hotdogs to the South Shore of Massachusetts. These hotdogs snap when you bite into them, have generous tasty toppings, and come in a poppy seed bun. Their Italian Beef sub is a steak sub that comes au jus for dipping. Very delicious! I'd recommend anything on their menu. The owner, Grady, and (I believe) his wife, Sen are super friendly people. Every time I come here, people come in and say hello to them. They seem to be very popular among the residents, cops, and firefighters in Weymouth. That's just how this place is. You'll get the best hotdogs, the kind you can't get anyplace else in Massachusetts, and get great service as well. Try it, you'll love it!

Chicago Hot Dog Lovers rejoice!!! If hearing the names Fluky's, SuperDawg, Poochie's, Weiner Circle (only at 2 am of course!), Gold Coast Dog's, etc makes you sad with longing that you can't find a good Chicago dog, well no longer despair!! Get in your car, zip car, or whatever, and get yourself over to Windy City Eats asap!! I finally made the treck out there today and it was SOOOO good!! Finally, a Boston area place that has true Chicago Vienna beef hot dogs and polish and does them right!! For those not in the know, a Chicago hot dog consists of a Vienna Beef hot dog, poppyseed bun, mustard, neon green relish, onions, tomato slice, celery salt, pickle spear, and peperoncini. They also have italian beef, which after having a polish AND a hot dog, I just didn't have room to try this time. lol! They also have other hot and cold sandwiches and specials (menu is their website). Grady, the very nice owner (along with his wife), is a Chicago area native and quite the host. We had fun reminiscing about Chi-town. He did of course do the obligatory cringe when I specially requested he include ketchup (it's a Chicago thing), but he did kindly oblige. lol! Waiting in line with me were quite a few repeat fans, who had chanced upon the place not knowing what it was, but who have become regulars since. One was raving about their home made corn dogs. It's a little hot dog joint that just opened 5 months ago. Eating there is at a small counter with just a few stools, however in nicer weather, there is a park a short walk away to enjoy getting your order to go. I highly recommend checking it out...especially if you are a Chicago hot dog fan. I can't wait to go back!! Thank you Grady!!!

Unlike other objects of food obsession, a Chicago style hot dog is actually a pretty simple affair. The problem is getting the proper ingredients anywhere outside of the Midwest without spending a fortune on express shipping. If you don't have a source in Chicago or travel there regularly (you can buy most of the ingredients past security in airport shops at O'Hare International Airport), it turns out you can make a field trip to Windy City Eats in Weymouth to get your fix. Pulling in to the parking lot at Windy City Eats in a strip mall on Middle Street in Weymouth, it is already clear they have taken Chicago hot dog culture to heart. Seating is limited to two small counters inside and several picnic tables sheltered by classic yellow, red and blue Vienna Beef umbrellas in front of the store. Inside the walls are decorated with dollar bills signed by customers from near and far and several Chicago themed posters - including one picturing a giant hot dog in place of Chicago landmark Navy Pier. But the best part is the menu. Right up front it defines "the works"- mustard, relish, onion, tomato, pickle, sport peppers, and celery salt - all on a poppy seed bun (though in Chicago they'd just say the dog was "dragged through the garden.") The end product is almost perfect. The mustard is bright yellow. The relish glows neon green. The onions are meticulously diced. The tomatoes are cut in perfect wedges. The pickle is salty and sour. The sport peppers lend just the right bit of spice and crunch. And the celery salt tops it all off with a bright finish. The only miss in an otherwise perfect meal was that the authentic (and impossible to purchase in Boston) S. Rosen Mary Ann poppy seed bun did not appear to have been steamed, so the whole sandwich was not quite as toasty warm as it would have been in the real windy city. But then again, Weymouth is a lot closer than the almost thousand mile trek to the shores of Lake Michigan.

After moving here a couple weeks ago, I was in the midst of moving and starving. A quick search on yelp pointed me in the direction of this hot dog place, and I was so hungry, I went for it since it was close. This place was popular! There was a line, and people hopping out of cars to run in and get their take out orders. I ordered some hot dog that had neon green relish and some little hot peppers. This dog is not your regular supermarket dog. It had this snap when I bit in. And the condiments were so good! This is definitely going on a regular rotation for me.

I am giving this place five stars for serving truly, truly authentic Chicago-style hot dogs. If I could, I would give them a sixth star for serving them so well. The tomato was fresh and delicious, the pickle was crispy, the hot dog perfectly done, and the bun light and fluffy. How do they do that? How do they get a fresh-out-of-the-oven tasting poppy seed bun here in Boston? Is it flown in from Illinois? If so, that is amazing. I downed two of these yesterday, and they were so good I figured since I'd made it all the way to Weymouth, I might as well try something else. So the guy there (who is awesome and friendly) suggested a fried Polish with onions and spicy mustard. Delicious! The oil doesn't make it soggy, but just crisps up the casing and keeps it juicy on the inside. Highly recommend.

I'm from the South Side of Chicago, but have lived in Baltimore for 10 years now. My fiances family is from Weymouth, and when I passed this place and saw the Vienna beef sign outside of this place I almost swerved off the road. For some reason you can't find places on the east coast that serve the best dogs in the world. I've tried almost everything on the menu, and have enjoyed it all. The polish and chicago dog are as good as you will find in Chicago (besides Portillo's). I would give the beef sandwich a 4/5, but it was still a good sandwich and a great surprise for Boston. When I'm in Weymouth I hit this place up every other day, much to the consternation of my soon-to-be in-laws who don't understand the obsession. The only problem I can see with this place is that the owner is a Cubs fan.

My usual is the Chicago dog adn I dont think it can be beat. These hot dogs are high quality, yes there are high quality dogs, its not the type of hot dogs that leaves a weird after taste or has way too many fillers that it makes you sweat. This is a great place for luch dinner or even just a snack.

Basically no indoor dining area is the only thing that keeps this from being a 5-star for me, although the outdoor patio is nice when it is sunny. Delicious Chicago-style dogs with all the traditional toppings, along with many other different varieties to suit your mood (including real Italian Beef). Low prices, great food, and the manager is really nice.

As most folks have said all there has to be said, I will just rate as another testiment to this establishment. I went with 5 stars not necessarily because it blew my socks off but because for what it is, it is the best. I have stopped by here twice before I wrote my review just to make sure the first time was not a fluke. Combined in my two trips I have got the chili cheese fries, the Maxwell Street Polish, the Cheesy Beef, and the Chicago Dog. The cheesy beef was a roast beef with provolone, dipping sauce on the side since I was taking it to go. I have never been a roast beef guy so cannot rave about this sandwich but it was tasty and would recommend it to those that like that sort of thing. I will say that I AM a dog and sausage guy. The Maxwell Street will be my permanent order for each time I go there. A 1/4 pound Polish sausage deep fried (don't freak out about the deep frying, it just gives it a good thorough cooking for such a good size piece of sausage) in a sesame seed bun with grilled onions and Boar's Head spicy brown mustard. Excellent! I also liked the Chicago Dog with all the toppings but will go back and try the other items before I go after the Chicago Dog again. The chili cheese fries, although I prefer a larger fry like a previous reviewer, were very good. Even when I got to the bottom, there was still a bit of chili or cheese to sop up, so the owner does not skimp. I do not understand why the South Shore doesn't have more of these types of places, but I will complain no more. Windy City is a good 10-15 minutes from my house but a trip I will gladly make each time. Five Guys has a nice beefy dog as well but Windy City, with their choice of difference toppings/sausages, has my vote. Give this place a shot, soon. On a personal note, I would love to see this place open just a bit later than 8:30p. Not sure what the local bylaws are on this sort of thing, but this place for late night eats (even til 10p or so) would rock.

This is place is the bomb. I have been to Chicago 3 times and every time I go I get a Chicago style dog. It comes with a bunch of toppings. Too many to explain. Just go and try this place. So, when I heard someone opened up a traditional Chicago style hot dog place in Weymouth. I just had to go. So, I dragged Wifey and the baby. Off we went to find this place. We found it. Not much to say about the place. It is very small. It really only has outdoor seating. So, try to go when it is warm outside. I ordered 2 Chicago Hot dogs. It was the real deal. I could not have been more impressed. I could not even finish. These dogs were great. Wifey got the Italian beef. Another Chicago classic. I can not wait to go back to this place.

Stopped in for a quick bite on Sat night. Wow!!!! Italian Beef heaven ... "hot and dipped". I didn't really think I'd ever find a place around Boston that could make a sandwich this good (and so closely resemble the quality and taste of the beef sandwiches you find in Chicago). "Hot" refers to the Giardiniera (hot peppers) and "dipped" refers to the act of dunking/submerging your sandwich into the au jus. (If you prefer to have the sandwich with the aus jus ladeled over the top, they will do that as well). The owner (and his wife) are extremely friendly and I can't wait to go back to try the hot dogs.

Yay, finally a Vienna Beef in the Boston area. Having lived in Chicago for 11 years, I often miss the steamed poppy seed bun and the snap of a Vienna Beef dog. Don't get me wrong, I love Nathan's too, but for some reason I have yet to find a good hot dog stand on the south shore. They hand batter dip the corndogs...a rarity! A GREAT value...EXCELLENT dogs. So happy to have found Windy City Eats and only 10 minutes from my house.

I've been here twice, and have been happy with my meal each time. I'm not a huge hot dog fan. I find them to be a snack and not a meal, but the variations available here (all on steamed Vienna beef dogs) are tasty, and some (Chicago dog, I'm looking at you) are a MEAL. Bonus, Poppy Seed Buns. this place does things right. My wife and in-laws have tried the dogs, and reported that they are wonderful. I'm more a fan of the Italian Beef. My first time in, I placed my order, "Beef, peppers, Wet" and stared down the owner, waiting to see his reaction. This was Key, if "wet" was questioned, it wouldn't be worth it to explain. What I got was Nod of approval, and a question about where in Chicago I'm from... Great news. The beef was good, but needed more seasoning, and the bread was a little too fresh -- which leads to it becoming soggy. the juice was tasty. I'm not from Chicago, but am hooked on Al's Beef since I was introduced to it, and have paid, from time to time, $400 to have an order prepped and shipped form Chicago. I had a conversation with the owner about this, and promised to come back. on my second trip, I ordered form the owners wife... "Beef.." cut off, and asked "Peppers, Wet?" Now We're Talking! Opted for Extra Wet, and Windy City Eats Delivered! An added touch, when bringing us our food, the owner said, "you're the Al's guy right? Thanks for coming back" 6 weeks between visits, and he remembered us. Where else can you go and even have the same people take your order after six weeks, never mind remember trivial details about you. can't wait to go back!

What a little score this place is - decent prices(its hot dogs kids), fast service and tasty food. I have only been twice, as its been cold and it is too small to eat inside, come summer time when the outside dinning area is open, I will be sure to re-review. Its a little tricky to find but well worth the hunt. The sauerkraut is also very good. Ask for a recommendation from the staff then put it in your mouth, you will be happy you did.

Great variety of dogs. Reasonable price and friendly staff. Just wish this place had more tables or room for indoor seating. Our group tried a wide variety of dogs no complaints.

Great find. The other day I was out to lunch and remembered seeing this place tucked away in a small little strip mall. Seeing I have been everywhere else a bunch of times I figured I would go check it out. I walked in and looked at the menu and thought...ummm how has nobody told me about this place yet?! They have various Chicago style dogs...you know covered in chili, peppers, whatever you like. They also have steak and cheese and Italian beef. I got a lunch I was almost embarrassed to bring back to my office to eat because it was so unhealthy...but so good. It was french fries covered in chili, cheese, onions, polish sausage and bacon! For only $5.00 at that. Good stuff. So overall if you are in the mood for some good (unhealthy) grub it's GREAT! If you want a salad or low fat stay away. Also there is not really any place to eat so you would have to take it to go. However I hear they are getting picnic tables for the summer. I will be back for sure. Probably too often :)

They get five stars automatically on the basis that THEY. SERVE. CHICAGO. STYLE. HOT DOGS! DAMNIT! and, lest you think I am biased in favor of Chicago hot dogs, they do the home city proud. Well, I say that as someone born in Boston, but as a person with a fondness for the tubed variety of meats. Green relish, check! Onions, check! Sport peppers, check! Vienna Beef dogs, check! Poppyseed bun, check! Mustard, check! Pickel spear, check! Congratulations, you've won deliciousness! The prices are fair, the dogs can be bought by the pound when you're done eating, and the deliciousness extends to the rest of their hot dog repertoire...but it doesn't stop there! These guys know how to make some dang chili fries. I am looking forward to trying the Italian beef and some sausages. The folks at the counter are friendly and attentive, and if you sit outside (as I did), they will most kindly bring your food out to you! They also merit five stars because they are located in the culinary wasteland that is the South Shore. Windy City Eats, please open out an outpost in my kitchen. I will not charge you rent as long as I can eat all the free hot dogs I want.

On a particularly hot day in March 09 I was driving in somewhat of an unknown area, Weymouth, MA, looking for the DPW after doing a side-gig landscaping for two overweight and demanding lesbians in Holbrook. I ran the gamet of emotions while looking for the DPW -everything from famished to insane to pissed because I could not find the place. I pulled into what looked like a run-down abomination of a strip mall with a donut shop next door. While parked and on the phone I realized I was starring at this sign that was a cartoon of a Vienna beef Chicago-style hot dog. I couldn't pay attention to the person on the other end of the phone any longer, I tried to keep it together as I looked for some money to go in and buy a hot dog as it was calling me forth. (Recently I had a new found respect for hot dogs and anything that is simultaneously a blank canvas of culinary innovation, and an all-in-one meal). I thought for sure this was destiny. I mumbled something to the person behind the counter about wanting to eat the big picture outside and the polite man said "oh, you want the Chicago dog, no problem". Least to say this place is a one of the few gems on the south shore. The wierd location helps the image, they just redid the parking lot, there's outside seating, they take credit cards, the website is simple and cool, and the owners are good people that have blessed us with their food...over-heard today that they may do a msytery dog night where customers can make their own. Awesome place, an instant classic, thank you thank you thank you!

The hot dog was close to the perfection of Johnney's in Elmwood Park, IL. This guy clearly knows how to make an outstanding Chicago dog. As good as NE dogs can be, this 40-year Chicagoan from time to time yearns for the unique blissful taste of a Chicago dog. If you want to try a great hot dog with a different twist, this is the place. The dog itself was wonderful. The soft and tender poppy-seeded bun was perfect. All of the condiments were just as they should have been, right down to 2 sassy sport peppers nestled in the bun and the stunningly green relish. The fries were hot and crisp. The Italian beef was also very good. I'd order it "double wet" next time as the best flavor comes from the aus juice. Hope the owner is around forever and if he keeps making dogs as good as the one I had this afternoon, he will be. This is as good as it gets for a Chi-town dog in Baaaston. The price was good.

Great hotdogs!! I always get the corndog and the chili-cheese dog - both are consistently awesome! Sweet Potato fries are fun too and perfectly cooked. I haven't experimented too much because I'm so hooked on the ones I get regularly but they all look and smell awesome. Sen is amazing!!

Hot dog! Great dogs, yummy poppy seed buns, fresh ingredients. Tried the Chicago dog (I've never had a ChiDog before so I went into this blind). It's really tasty, though for me, it was unusual to have a dog with so many toppings. Being an avid pickle lover (make a joke, you know you want to), I'm as surprised as the next person that I've never tried this combo. Also tried the Chili Dog and loved it. Sweet potato fries were pretty awesome too. We ordered to go and I think that eating it in-house, while it's still piping hot would be the way to go for next time!

Ample parking. Friendly staff. Quick, wallet-friendly lunch. We stopped for a quick grab and go and was quickly greeted. It's a small place, walls adorned with autographed dollar bills. We had the chili cheese, Chicago, South Side dogs and fries to share. The Chicago and South Side are basically the same -- beef dogs on a poppy seed bun with mustard, neon green relish, onion, tomatoes, peppers and celery salt. Difference was in the dog -- Chicago's was thin and grilled? and South Side's was thicker and steamed. Definately well dressed compared to the traditional KMR (ketchup, mustard, relish). The only no-no were the shoe-string fries. Overdone, undersalted. Solid spot to satisfy those hot dog cravings though I still give Heid's in Syracuse top honors!

Had the Chicago style dog. Omg so good!! If you're from Chicago or have ever had a Chicago hotdog, and you're craving an authentic one, this is the place to go. You won't be disappointed. Also the owner was very nice. We'll definitely be coming back to get our fix.

Good place. Definitely a small gem in Weymouth. I tried Chicago dogs before, and this place offers the closest option to it. Their sides are good too. Be adventurous to try other items on their menu. Easy parking and outdoor seating, which is especially nice during the summer. Also, the owners are very nice. I like the mom and pop shops.

My fiancé and I were so excited to try this place, but we're only left extremely disappointed. Upon arrival we spotted a hand written closed sign on the door. Apparently they close for the winter and will not open until February :( Only getting 2 starts due to availability. Don't know why they would close for a season, it does not seem to be a "seasonal" restaurant. We are hopeful that we can go back once it opens and we can review and give them 5 stars!!!

I ate here today for the first time. Based on the reviews i thought this place was gonna be amazing. I ordered 2 chili cheese dogs.... They cost me over $8 dollars... They were small and were no better than microwaved hotdogs from the supermarket... I dont know why this place has a cult following online, when i was inside it was a ghost town.

I stopped in here on my way to Quincy to watch a Patriots game with a friend who lives there. We stopped because a friend of mine who grew up in Chicago wanted to see if there really was a place in Mass that could make a true Chicago hotdog. His verdict, this place is legit. For my review, I ordered a classic Chicago dog as well as a chili dog. Both were delicious but if were to go back I'd get two classics. Overall, a great little spot for an inexpensive, tasty lunch.

This is a pretty good hot dog place! I always get it in the summer! It is family ran and is one of the best places to just like hang out and eat hot dogs. I catered from them one time and they gave me like a whole Christmas dining room table full of a bunch of different variety of toppings. Not to mention they gave me a mini hot dog vending machine that had boiling water, tongs and.... It was just so awesome. YOU MUST CATER FROM THIS PLACE!!!!

Sports | Tomato | Neon Relish | Onion | Mustard | Pickle Spear | Celery Salt Vienna Beef on a steamed poppy bun. It's perfect; every ingredient a tribute to the namesake city, and the final product tastes like it's slung from North Wacker. $2.75 is a beautiful price, and we were pleasantly surprised at the high-qual, damn salty sweet potato fries ($3) offered as a side. Polish on the menu, along with Italian Beef, Sausage or combo sandwiches. Is that Strawberry Crush in the cooler? It is. Cavities rejoice! Season approves the outdoor seating, which complements the claustrophobic inside, and all is well with this chunk of the Windy in New Englad. Can't in good faith send five stars without trying a dipped Italian Beef. How about... tomorrow? Worth it.

Who would have thought that such a gem would be found in the middle of nowhere. I had my first Chicago hot dog in Weymouth, MA, and boy, was it delicious! WCE is an inconspicuous spot in the back of a strip mall with four chairs inside and two tables outside with three benches attached to each. The hot dog is delicious. I've never had a hot dog with a pickle on it, let alone a tomato or a pepper! I wasn't sure how it was going to taste, but it was delicious. Perfect and dry in a good way. The lady who works there is very friendly and quick. Excellent find. I will definitely go back!

Love that you can get a Chicago dog here with the authentic green relish, and that you can buy jars of it here too! A place that lets the food do the talking, a simple hot dog with the right toppings and a reasonable price and friendly service.

Going to Chicago is on my "Bucket List"! Now, after having a Chicago "dawg" it makes me more affirmed to getting to the "Windy City". If the Chicago hot dog is any indication of the hot dog served in Chicago, I shall solemnly swear that Chicago has the best HOT dog that I have ever had the pleasure to taste....not to taste, but to devour. After seeing on Yelp that today was the last day of Hot Dog Month, it became necessary for me to get to Windy City Eats. I wrote down directions and thought that I had read the shop was open till 8:30p.m. Followed directions, but couldn't find my destination. Thankfully I had written down their phone #, called them {@ 8:15} only to find out that they had closed @ 7:30. Pleaded for a hot dog, and was granted my wish. Lordy, Lordy! The woman inside the shop unlocked the door and allowed me entrance. "CHICAGO DOG, PLEASE". Got a side of sauerkraut and a Chicago City beverage. Ate in my vehicle...moaning with pleasure. I love green and the "neon" green relish? Well, I could eat a bottle of it w/o any accompaniment. Poppy seed bun? Never had one previously...but scrumptious. Onions, tomato, pickle. Loaded with goodness. Anyone can cook a hot dog.....but WINDY CITY EATS makes a truly special one. Thank you to Yelp, YELPERS, and to WINDY CITY EATS....a fine fine find!

I have been going here for a few years after seeing this place on phantom gourmet and my husband and I love it. The owner is from Chicago and always remembers us. Its a little neighborhood place that has great food at great prices. The hot dogs and buns all come from Chicago so you can get a real taste of Chicago without the flight. The Chicago dog is always good but check out the more adventurous specials as well. They really make some awesome combinations.

Never had a Chicago style hot dog, swung by one day on a whim and I am hooked. The hot dogs are outstanding. I can't say enough. If you like dogs, this is heaven... homemade potato salad is delicious too.

I had first heard of this place after seeing on TV and had bookmarked it a while ago on Yelp, patiently waiting for the opportune time to finally head there. Well it turns out that the opportune time was yesterday as the girlfriend and I were feeling adventurous and a small road trip sounded perfect. So we hoped into my Civic, turned the GPS on and off we were, and about twenty miles after leaving Somerville, we were finally pulling into the parking lot where Windy City Eats is located, along with a couple of other shops. The place looked modest from the outside, with just a small side there along with a four tables where people can enjoy their meals outside, in the sun. We proceeded to walk right in and the place was much smaller than I would have imagined. There's barely any room to stand. There's a few stools lining one of the walls for those who want to eat by the door but one should carefully time their visit there if planning on at one of these cramped seats. Above the register is their menu and it's pretty straight forward: there's hot dogs. 19 different types to be exact, and various other sandwiches including meatball ones and cheese steak ones as well. There's a few cold ones too but the star of the show, the one item that one should order is the famous and very authentic Chicago-style hot dog. One may wonder what an authentic Chicago dog is and it''s rather simple: it all starts with a steamed, poppy-seeded bun, the dog, some neon green relish, some onion and tomato and some sports peppers, a pickle spear and a sprinkle of celery salt. Sounds weird? Sound messy? Yup, but good lord is it delicious. From the very first to the last bite, it is delicious. Not easy to eat, but delicious. And at just $2.59, it makes for a tasty bargain! Besides this one, I had a very similar one, their South Side Polish ($4.50) which came with spicy mustard and is just like the one above, but with a Polish sausage instead of a traditional dog. It was great as well. The prices are awesome, the dogs were awesome and despite it's size and apparence, this place is great. It's almost like being in Chicago but without the short flight (or long drive). There's even a Blackhawks Stanley Cup banner hanging in the kitchen and a picture of Solder Field on the wall, along with a picture of Wrigley Field. Oh and did I mention that the owner was extremely friendly and that despite the line, they churned out the food very quickly and efficiently? This place is just awesome and well worth the drive.

This place makes me so happy & they have so much character because each customer tapes a signed dollar bill to their wall; if you can find a spot left that is! I love their Chicago dogs, very authentic. Never tried a better hot dog from anywhere else. Very inexpensive too. Nice to sit out on the patio under the shade of the umbrellas enjoying a dog and catching a breeze. I live right across the street but never even knew they existed until recently because they're tucked back behind a convenient store and a donut shop. Then while raving about them everyone else already knew and couldn't believe that I never knew about them! Well, I'm sure glad I know now!

Saw it was highly rated so we swung by and were not disappointed. The Italian Beef, hot and wet, was terrific. Nice and spicy, great flavor. My wife liked the Chicago Dog and Dogfather polish sausage. My chilli cheese dog was top notch. We ordered more than we could eat and it was $20 and came up fast. If you are looking for an authentic, Chicago style dog, this is your spot

I'll be brief. If you know and love Chicago-style, dragged-through-the-garden hot dogs, this is the only place you'll get your fix without hopping the shuttle to ORD. They're authentic, right down to the Vienna Beef hot dogs, Sport peppers and half sour pickle spear. I could only like this place more if they served cheap schooners of beer like Portillo's. If you don't know what a Chicago-style dog is, run, don't walk, to Windy City Eats. Let me know what you think of this review by clicking a button below.

"You haven't had a hot dog until you've had a Chicago-style hot dog." Saw that when I looked up Chicago dogs. After trying one, I,100% concur with that statement. (I actually tried two because one wasn't enough.) The best hot dog I ever had! I went with the Vienna beef & the Works - mustard, relish, onion, tomato, pickle, sport peppers, celery salt, poppy seed bun (Also known as the Chicago dog). The boy got the corn dog and said it was good. I washed it down with a can of throw back Mountain dew. There's only two seats inside. If it's warm out there's seats outside. People leave dollar bills that they write something on and tape it anywhere in the store. Look for mine if you go in.

I was excited..ecstatic that I was going to devour a chicago style hot dog...the glowing green relish, the tomato, the pickles, I wanted it all. Being of Polish descent I enjoy my links so I had high hopes coming to Windy City Eats as I watched the review on the phantom gourmet's web-site, this put me in a hot dog wanting craze comparable to a zombie's lust for brains. Not sure if just caught this place at a bad time(hour before closing) or what but my significant other and I were extremely disappointed. We ordered 2xChicago 1xSouth Side Polish 1xChilly Cheese Fries w/onions. The hot dogs were OKAY, there wasn't much of a taste difference between the polish and chicago(???)..there was just a taste of over powering condiments but that didn't bother me. What bothered me the most was the horrible cheese fries which I can say were hands down the nasiest tasting "cheese fries" I've ever had... Cheese? sure there was a hint of it Fries? Soggy. Onions? lets just say there was more chopped onions on the fries than there was cheese..I mean yes we wanted onions but not a pound of it! As for the service well one of the dogs was not suppose to have mustard on it but guess what!? it came with extra! This was brought to the attention of the person behind the counter and resolved immediately so thats a plus! Dont get me wrong here I'll probably give this place another try as the Chicago style hot dog concept still makes my mouth water everytime I think about it and I'll be sure to follow up my review thats why I gave this place A-OK rating ;)

  • Aboud Y.

I really love this place in concept. I would give it 3.5 stars if I could, but I can't in all good faith give it 4. That would rank it in the same territory as Portillo's and that's just not right. However, as a Chicago transplant, the view of an Italian Beef sandwich covered in Giardiniera and a nice Vienna beef dog complete with the 7 holy ingredients brought a tear of joy to my eye. While not exactly what Mecca is to Muslims (no fatwas for this review, please), Weymouth is the direction I'll now head when I need a fix for my Chicago cravings. Props to Seth S who I must say hit the nail on the head with his review.

Well I wish I could eat here everyday! I got a corn dog and chili cheese fries and I was just head over heels for them. Out of our group we tried fries, hot dogs, corn dogs, sausages and their root beer and everything was AWESOME. I can't wait to come back!

I am originally from the northwest suburbs of Chicago and miss the hot dogs, Italian beef, deep dish pizza, etc. that I cannot get in Boston. Thankfully, Yelpers informed me of this place. Husby and I took the lengthy drive down on this lovely Sunday afternoon. There is outside seating that advertises they sell Vienna Beef hot dogs - the only kind that is in a hot dog back home. We ordered two Italian beefs, one chili cheese dog, and one Chicago dog with fries. Pretty reasonable in terms of price, considering all the food we received. We sat outside and waited in the sunshine. The Italian beefs came first and were rather large. I took one bite of the delightfully semi-soggy bun and the juicy beef tumbled into my mouth. It had a good texture and the giardiniera was delightfully spicy, which added a nice kick to the hearty richness of the sandwich. The juice in the foil-covered basket was perfect to sop up and ended up also being a bit spicy as well. The hot dogs with fries came next and it looked perfect; the condiments that should be there were on my Chicago dog in a poppyseed bun. All the familiar flavors mixed together in my mouth and I was very content. The fries were thin and had a nice seasoning to them. To be honest, they weren't as good as Johnnie's Beef or Portillo's but it was damn close. The owner is incredibly friendly and nice as well! He brought our hot dogs outside to us while asking how everything tasted. I mentioned I was from Chicago and it turns out he used to live really close to me. I asked if he got everything shipped from back home and he said he did, which makes it even more authentic! We reminisced about Chicago things and it was great to feel like someone understood my heartache about being in Boston. We'll be taking the drive back as often as possible to recapture a bit of my home. Now, if someone could only open up an authentic deep dish pizza place...
