Food was delicious. I also liked the utensils and tableware. Customer service was subpar. Dinner was a little pricey but the portions were pretty large.

I visited Indian Delight for the first time last week. It will be my last visit. The $8.95 lunch buffet featured vegetable samosas, rice, lamb curry, the ubiquitous chicken tikka masala, and chana paneer. The spicing and flavor of the entrees, normally distinctive, tended to blend together. The naan were also of low quality and appeared to be repeatedly warmed-over versions of the packaged naan one finds occasionally at local supermarkets. It's unfortunate that India Delight was so un-delightful. I've been looking for a quality South Shore Indian option. After this experience, it is clear I will need to continue my search.

Great Indian lunch buffet. I was here on a Wednesday around noon and they were slow. The dining room is ancient. Not an overwhelming selection but it seems to be just right for the amount of people who come for lunch during the week. For the quality of the food, it's a great value for the money.

My friends and I came here for the lunch buffet a few weeks ago. The food satisfied my craving for some Indian food, and I especially enjoyed the chicken curry and naan. They had other dishes I am unfamiliar with, but were nonetheless tasty if you keep an open mind. I wish the food was a little hotter, but I could also blame our late arrival of 2 (when the brunch ended at 3). The restaurant was empty when we arrived...and empty when we left...you could hear a pin drop if you tried! This was a little sketchy to me, but, hey, who wouldn't want a whole buffet to herself for only $8? I probably won't come back for the buffet, but dinner may be worth trying!

Decent food if you don't want to travel to quincy. Made quick and usually gonna of seats if you are dining in. Staff needs to be trained better on how to say hi and bye etc. Food used to be amazing here but the quality have def gone down in last few years.

This place is as good if not better then Punjab cafe. We went here tonight for the first time an I was very impressed. We started with the aloo naan which was the best naan I have ever had. We both ordered off the specials. I had the vegetable vindaloo and the BF had the tandoori lamb in a spinach cream sauce. I can't remember the real name but both were really very good. The total came out to about $40.00 for all of it which isn't to bad for good Indian food. I plan to check out the buffet soon and will report back!

The lunch buffet here is a great deal. The items change from day to day and are always delicious. Apps and naan to kheer dessert, make for a tasty lunch break.

Hands down. The best Indian food you have tasted in a while. You wonder how this place stays in business because no one is ever there...but at the same time that's a good thing because it's a really quiet place to eat. The food is one of the greatest things I ever tasted. This is definately one kid my favorite places to eat.

Sunday of last week, my boyfriend and I were on our way home from the beach and stopped in. It was 2:45pm, and their buffet closes at 3pm. We weren't sure that we would even be able to eat that late. They were so friendly and welcomed us. I am a vegetarian and my boyfriend eats meat, so Indian food is great for us. The buffet was great, even so close to closing. Their use of spices elevated the food to the next level for me. A little secret about me: I grew up around Indian families and learned to cook from the Aunties. The food here was definitely special. I think they put some black cardamom on their Naan! Not only was the food good, but so was the service. I love HOT and spicy, and they brought out a yummy chili condiment for me. We will definitely be back! Also, I overheard them talking to a man who was thanking them for donating food for a fundraising and telling them how grateful he was and that their food was the first food eaten at the event. It's nice to know they also care about the community.

Here's the lowdown... This place lacks the glitz of other restaurants. But the main attraction helps you see beyond all that - the food. I've spent a lot of time in India - Calcutta, Delhi, Kerala, Goa, Udaipur, Jaipur, all over. And my wife who is Indian agrees - they have the best Indian food on the south shore. Their Keema mutter, Aloo Mutter, Vindaloo, Roti's, Naans, they all kick butt and take names. I mean seriously... it's hard to get a bad dish here. And they keep it real by serving 'Thumbs Up'. Just ask for it, you'll love it. Now onto the bad. None of which has to do with the food. 1. The place kind of stinks sometimes - the minute you walk in the door. I'm not talking about cooking type of stank, i mean, like, dirty laundry stank. Faint, but you smell it sometimes walking through the front door. Simply install some air fresheners. However, It is gone by the time you get to the.... 2. Seats - They need to be polished. They are dull. Use this: amazon.com/Griots-Garage… Wipe it down real good and they'll look like new. 3. The table tops could use some polishing as well. Use this: amazon.com/Meguiars-G158… Another amazing product, just wipe them down well, and they'll look like new. Yes these products are originally for cars, but these are the secrets the top notch restaurants use to get your booths looking like new and smelling nice, each and every time! Next - Employees. I assume there are two owners, because i see the same two people there all the time. Very nice and very jovial. But the larger gentleman clearly doesn't want to be there. And it shows. You can't have him be a customer-facing person if he's not truly happy to be there. That's just the nature of the this business. You have to put on a happy face, even if you aren't. My suggestions, besides those mentioned above - Add a large flat screen in a couple of places in the seating area, play some Bollywood movies, add a little bit more of decor. Hold some cooking classes, or have special nights. Have a son/daughter/neice/nephew set up and maintain a Facebook account telling everyone about these specials, regularly. Air fresheners near the front door, and seat and booth polish. And you've got yourself an amazing spot!

So there are a couple of better options for Indian food that aren't too far away, including Punjab Cafe in Quincy and Sher-A-Punjab (Quincy Center). The latter is a bit pricier but is like a chic modern Indian bar/restaurant; the former is definite very good. I thought Indian Delight was okay -- not great and not bad. There appeared to be only one waiter which isn't enough for the place. Probably a few chefs in the back. He was very business-like, so not super-friendly. Had to wait a bit for water and water refills. Food was good quality. Nothing to write about for presentation. Decor was mostly pictures or paintings -- again, a bit drab, nothing to write home about. Good price point: not too expensive. I think there is a slight smell in the restaurant and it could use airing. For a week or so. Maybe some combination of mold, must, dirty laundry or dirt, and spilled beer?

The ambience of the restaurant is good and the food is also good. Though doesn't have good variety in dessert serving in the lunch buffet but the overall food tastes good. They do have chicken tandoori and chicken seekh kebabs, Naan tastes yummy. The staff was really good and overall it was a pleasent experience of having lunch buffet on a weekend at Indian Delight.

Went there with dad today for their lunch buffet. At $10.95 , it is definitely a steal. They had the samosa n pakora for apps. Dosa stuffed with potatoes n veggies, lentil soups n three types of chutney. The dosa was delicious. Just the way I remembered them prepared by South Indian cooks. Next up, the mains. A mix veggie curry(delicious), n chick peas curry. They also have tandoori chicken which is nice and moist, and kebab. The usual curry chicken n the two die for goat curry. I got some rice, which was nicely made with goat curry. It was so delicious. Dad tried everything else n declared it good. Dessert was the usual, gulab jamun and rice pudding. I tried the gulab, and I really like their version. Not overly sweet, just nice. Btw, we got there at 11:55am, which is nice. Food is fresh n hot. I think that is the trick. Go there early, you want to be the first to hit their buffet. My dad n I usually stayed away from buffet cos of the hygiene issue. But if you are the first in line, that really is not an issue. Mango lassi was sweet n thick. Just the way I like them. Read some reviews about the servers being off. Ours were actually very nice. The two men who worked there today were really nice n friendly.

We had a feast. I started with their tomato soup which was tangy and very nicely spiced. Paneer and spinach curry was creamy and flavorful. Chicken vindaloo was also good but could have been better. The naan was out of this world. Thin and not too doughy. We also tried the kababs and chicken korma. So filling. Nice big portions and good quality for a reasonable price.

Great food, tall beers, and a quiet atmosphere. I appreciate that I can hear my husband when we go there to eat, and I always have leftovers for the next day. If you want your butt kissed, don't go here. I noticed that someone who wrote a review mentioned that she didn't get a "smile" from the host. One of the two main guys who works at Indian Delight is decidedly un-smiley, but I get the sense that this is just his personality and so we don't take it personally. The other fellow is very pleasant, and the consistently delicious food more than makes up for any idiosyncrasies the staff may be perceived to have. I recommend the Shahi Paneer. Don't be afraid to ask for a medium level of spice. Even my husband who is squeamish about spiciness thought his dish tasted much better with a kick. This isn't the cheapest of places, but I think the food is worth every penny.

We made our first visit to Indian Delight and didn't find this place any better or worse than any other Indian restaurants. The buffet was pretty small, the offerings seemed pretty limited, and those which were out were pretty cold because the chaffing dishes weren't covered. The waiter (who has a wart on his finger the size of an additional finger) was adding food into the buffet with no gloves (he did use tongs but i couldn't take my eyes off the wart) and wasn't very friendly.... but with this all said.. the food was decent and the price was not outrageous. Decent food at decent prices... no wow factor or frills.

I have tried Indian Delight a few times now, both eat-in and take out as well as lunch and dinner. It is consistently just OK, no standouts. I wouldn't go out of my way to eat here but wouldn't say no if I was local and craving Indian food and my companions wanted to go (if it was just me I would drive over to 3A and hit up Punjab Cafe in Quincy - their food is amazing). Indian Delight is fairly standard Indian fare. The lunch buffet is a good value but generally speaking, I think their food is pretty mediocre compared to other Indian restaurants in the area. They are also pretty generous with the spice level so keep that in mind when ordering. The staff is friendly enough, prices are reasonable, and parking is easy.

Our first time there and definitely not our last. Stopped by on a Saturday afternoon because I saw they had a buffet. Nobody was in the restaurant but it was only a few minutes last 12:00. The staff were very attentive and helpful in explaining what the items were in the buffet. The second time up at the buffet, they recommended some items we hadn't tried yet. Everything was very good and for the price of 9.95 per person, that's a deal. Check out my photos.

This restaurant is 2nd choice after punjab cafe in Quincy. Food is tasty, I used dine-in sometime but mostly always take-out. Food is also nice. my recommendation is DO NOT Try South Indian food at this place like "dosa" "Uttapum" etc. rest all food is nice.

Best Indian restaurant! Great service, Best chefs, Clean dining room, Huge bottled beer selection. Lots of parking, Can handle large parties, Great vegetarian selections in the Buffet. Cleanest bathroom in Weymouth! Just like Asian restaurants if 2 people go for dinner and order 4 items it can be pricey, but doggy bags works, and I can eat this stuff cold in the morning. I eat here and also Cambridge & Moody Street (Waltham) Indian restaurants - and yes I've eaten at Punjab in Quincy, they also do a great job but I really think the chefs here make the best Indian Food.

I'm giving 3 stars because I have only given this place 1 chance otherwise it would be lower and I always agree to give a place a second chance. We ordered chicken curry and basically threw it away after 1 bite. The chicken is thigh meat and fat . Sauce was watery n chunky. It was take out. Sher Pun Jab in Quincy is awesome though

Prices are scandalously set. Not worth the exploration of your bank account. I did not get arrive in time for buffet(as i am not a senior citizen) which may have helped cost issue. It was $52 for two dinners! Absurd for regular take away food!

Visited Indian Delight for their luncheon buffet and I was delighted. A good variety of dishes to taste-test this restaurant. Very good food. Well worth the $8.95. Excellent and attentive service. Nice, clean interior. Plenty of free parking. Easy to get to via Rte. 18 off Rte. 3 in Weymouth. Will be back!

The food here is good, but I am giving one star. I have been going here for years, maybe 6 or 7 times per year. They have a waiter here who is extremely lazy, and fat, but for some reason, fancies himself an entertainer. He has always sucked, but as an often solo diner, I have been able to avoid him (waiters, even complete idiots like this guy, tend to leave you alone when you're dining alone). One Friday night, though, he ignored me when I called out to him; flirted with my girlfriend; screwed up our order; blamed my girlfriend after screwing up her order, claiming she changed her mind "too much" while ordering, complete BS; tried to be cute/camp/funny to me at the end of the meal when I requested the check and to take food home - when I was clearly already angry at him and not in the mood, then told me that he was just giving me back the attitude that I was giving him. I now have a personal boycott going against this place and won't go again. I will tell everyone I know not to go, as well. If the owner of this place ever reads this, just know that the old fat douchebag that you have working there is driving customers away. He's obviously related to whoever owns the place, though, else he'd definitely have been fired by now.

Indian delight is one of those Indian places that I consider lucky to be the only game in town. I have eaten here a handful of times and I never have really enjoyed it. I have visited the lunch buffet once and it is a pretty typical Indian buffet. When I have ordered my favorite Paneer Korma off the menu was when I was really let down. If you are a fan of Indian food and can't make it further north to Quincy where options multiply extensively I'd say go ahead and visit Indian delight. Me? I'll save my Indian cuisine visits for Guru in Plymouth, Ma or points north of Weymouth. Fail

Very disappointed by Indian Delight. Definitely nowhere near as good as Punjab Cafe in Quincy, and not nearly as good as any number of Indian restaurants I have been to in MA, NY and CT. (We sat down for dinner, so I can not comment on their buffet. Maybe their buffet is better?) Their naan is good, and their dosas are good too which is nice because not every Indian restaurant offers a South Indian menu...but the rest of our meal was... flat. Shahi Paneer and Aloo Mutter, two very different and usually very flavorful dishes...just...just kind of meh. Not vibrant and multi-sensory. Spicy, but very one-dimensional. I imagine this to be the kind of place that timid eaters who generally don't like non-generic-american food would go and exclaim that they really, really like it. The waitstaff seemed generally surly, disinterested. Brought the BF's glass of wine to the table next to ours, then carded him a second time before they brought him his glass. No smiles, and a vibe that felt as though we were very unwanted in their space. Also of note...only 2 other tables seated while we were there, and it wasn't closing time. Place was practically empty. That tells me something, too. I don't often write reviews that are less than 4 stars because most places we eat have something worth experiencing. But this place? Food was edible but meh, service was sub-par and scowly. Not a place I am interested in giving a second chance. If you're in the area and looking for good Indian food, just go to Punjab Cafe, or head up to Boston/Cambridge. Indian Delight has a lot of work to do before it's worth spending your money there.

I went there for dinner 2 days ago. I ordered the food which was not good anyways. However the service was even horrible. I had to wait for 15 min even when there was no other customer in the restaurant. Apparently the serving guy was talking on the phone. Other guy came up after calling for 10 min. He was kind of rude and stated that they made us wait as we are Indians and they would never do it to Americans. I was really shocked to hear this. I actually told him that all the customers are same and they should be treated equally. Very poor service. I would never go to any restaurant which differentiates based on color, race, nationality or any other denomination. I am for sure not going back there.

I very rarely give 5 star reviews but I cannot find fault here. I have been here for both their weekday buffet and Sunday "Super Buffet". I get takeout from here close to once a week. I cannot say I have ever had a meal that was not delicious. Their buffet selection is fair during the week, with dishes swapping out daily. Everything is made at a "mild" heat, which is good because I would not get to go if my girlfriend had to eat spicy food (yay relationships! *rolls eyes*). They have either pakoras, samosas, or aloo tikki each day coupled with 2-3 meat dishes and 2-3 vegetarian dishes. Then there is plain naan and some items from the tandoor oven such as Tandoori Chicken and a kabob (chicken or Seekh). The super buffet includes 5-6 more dishes as I remember. The prices are very reasonable, the weekday buffet being just under $10. Just tried their Chicken Lababdar yesterday and I am hooked. I like my food a bit spicy so I get the medium heat for my curries and dishes for takeout and they have all been excellent. Her fave is the Chicken Korma. Reports of shady waiters will not deter my vote. Staff is friendly and inside is clean and I completely dig the authentic looking flatware and salt and pepper shakers. The windowed kitchen is a nice touch as you can watch them prepare your food if you wish with the tandoor oven front and center. Chinese takeout is a thing of the past for me, Indian is where it is at.

Let's go down the list shall we? Food: Good Service: Good Decor: Not offensive... I mean good. Why 2 stars? Well for starters, a good restaurant does not: -- Set place settings that look dirty, old and scummy -- Pour your beer into a dirty glass -- Let unidentified fluff get into your water glass on nearly EVERY pour (eck) PLEASE get new dishes and use a little quality control. If you did that, this place would rock it. Bottom line? Hate to say it (mainly because the servers are borderline belligerent), but go to Punjab - at least their silverware was clean...

My husband and I were on our way to Cape Cod when I stopped in for some take-out. Being the ONLY customer there, you would think the servers would be extremely attentive, right? Of course not! The two that I saw acted as if they were bored by my presence. No smile, no greeting - I swear they yawned at me with their eyes. They must also play that "whoever is closer in proximity to the customer gets stuck with them game" because the waiter further from me just turned around abruptly and went in the back. I ordered aloo paratha and kulfi. Both were delicious! But I had to ask the server for the dipping sides that come with the paratha (he did ask if I wanted some mango chutney, hence the 2 stars instead of 1) and I had to ask for take out cutlery - a pre-packaged, knife, spoon and napkin. He did acknowledge me on the way out with an awkward head nod as I thanked him for my order. Uninterested is how I would best describe him.

second time eating here, both times I had the luch buffet. first the lunch buffet didn't have many choices perhaps six, with the addition of some salad would make it seven, 3 of the buffet items are non meat. but one of them is rice, and the other non meat choices are heavy creamy potatoes and peas and the other was spinch with cheese. For me any way to heavy and rich. Their was not one item that was light and spicy. no chilli peppers no spicy soup. and I belive I paid $9.50 without a drink Iam reposting, as some how this got taken off.

If you paid me to tell you how Indian Delight wins so many "Best of" Awards I would stare back at you blankly. This place is incredibly mediocre. The food? Meh. The service? Definitely not desirable. The interior and decor? Shabby. Not preceded by "not too". It's dated, and it appears unclean. It's like a bad 80's haircut. It should be called Indian Disappointment, because the food and service does a hell of a lot more disappointing than delighting. Though I did enjoy the Naan, I can buy some at Whole Foods and save myself the "experience" of Indian Delight.

It was my first time here..we had no idea what to get so we ended up ordering the laila majnu . It was just something random. It wasnt actually too bad..until we got to the tandoori chicken. As i was cutting my chicken, there was aluminum foil in the chicken (!?!?!?!?!?) we didnt know if that was how its suppose to be, so we asked the waiter. He said.."yeah..thats not suppose to be there". So the waiter said hell give us another order of tandoori chicken. I

It doesn't look like much from the outside, but it's a very classy restaurant. But I don't think there's a dress code. The weekend super buffet was only $10. The food was delicious, It's the best Indian food I've ever had. The tandoori chicken is cooked on the bone for more flavor. Be careful of the small bones though.

We went to Indian Delight about 5 years ago and swore we would never return. Back then it was because the service was downright rude and they seemed genuinely upset by the fact that we brought our son there (he was about 4 at the time and totally well behaved- they just glared at us the whole time - weird). So the years went by... After reading some reviews on here though, we decided maybe it was time to try again. I should note - we love Indian food and lived in South Asia, but understand that the "Indian" food in the US is its own thing- it is similar to the differences in Chinese food in China vs. the US. So I don't judge a place on "Authenticity" to India as much as deliciousness and variety in terms of what is available at other Indian places in the US. So - the variety was nice. There were quite a lot of vegetarian options and a mix of South Indian, Punjabi and other regional dishes. I was thrilled to see dosas on the menu. We ordered a veggie appetizer sampler. I loved that you got all three standard chutneys (tamarind, mint, and onion) with the variety of appetizers. For entree we ordered a paneer dish that was off the specials menu- it was a mix of channa masala with paneer added. I was skeptical at first, but the hubs wanted it. It was fantastic and I totally recommend it. This is a creative and tasty variation I've never seen elsewhere. We also ordered a Dosa - it was good. It wasn't anything to go crazy about - pretty straightforward, but I really love dosas and even being able to get one was enough to make me happy since many places don't have it on the menu. The prices were average. It isn't a cheap meal, but it is not above what you'd spend most anywhere and you get more food than you can (or should!) finish in one sitting. We always get two meals from eating Indian- one at dinner and one lunch the next day, so really, the price is not bad if you take the leftovers into account. You could definitely share an entree here and still have enough food. The service was not as bad as when we first went, but still just ok. That said, this time we did not have our son with us- so it wasn't a clear comparison (although I do think it was the very same server). This time he was not necessarily friendly, but he did his job and I don't feel like he was rude- just kind of not interested in being a waiter. I wonder if they had some trouble with getting caught not checking ids in the past or something- they are strangely vigilant in carding you for each drink- and while flattering, (I'm 33 and not exactly pulling off a look that passes for under 21!) it seemed a bit overboard. It didn't really matter, but it was a little weird to have my id scrutinized at the table. So, we'll be back. It is a nice mix up to the routine that has gotten a little stale with Punjab Cafe. It isn't as good on the service level as Punjab Cafe though, and for that reason, this is probably still going to be my second choice in the area. All in all, I'd recommend people try it out and I'm happy to have it back in our mix of restaurants.

Love this place! Chicken Tikka Massala is always awesome. Great Tandori dishes and yummy naan are consistently good. Don't forget the three chutneys, they complete the meal. Never tried the buffet but I'll bet I could save a bundle that way.

I have now been to Indian Delight for the lunch buffet and dinner. Let me start with the buffet. We went into the restaurant about a half hour before the lunch buffet closed. There was one Sikh family finishing up as we arrived, other than that, the place was empty. The lunch buffet had a decent variety for a small restaurant. There was some sort of vegetable pakora, vegetable samosas for appetizers, salad, vegetables in curry sauce, paneer in a korma sauce, lamb in a saag sauce chicken curry, rice and plain naan. There was rice pudding for dessert, which I did not try. I liked most of it except the chicken curry. The paneer was really good. The samosas were a little less than fresh. In all, it was ok. No real complaints, but no real raves. Buffets can be touch and go, and rather tough to judge at the end of the buffet day. I would give it another try. Buffet for two on a Sunday was about 9.95 a person. My tab ran about $25.00 for two with two sodas. Dinner was quite good when I went. While this is not my favorite Indian restaurant by a long shot, it was decent. Good flavor, decent portion size. The service was good. It was pretty clean. I wouldn't rush to this place for Indian, but if I was in the neighborhood again, I would go there if I had a urge for Indian.

I thought it was as good as any Indian I have had. The chicken korma was perfect, good rice, naan bread and the chicken chaat I had as an appetizer was also very good. Service was very good, no problems with anything. There was hardly anyone seated on a Tuesday night but they seemed to do a lot of take out.

I went in for the lunch buffet, which was pretty good. Not amazing, but nothing really wrong either. Perfectly acceptable for a lunchtime Indian craving. However, the staff here was the laziest, most indifferent staff I perhaps have EVER seen in a restaurant. There were literally 5 customers in the restaurant when I went (about 12:30 PM or so). Even so, my water glass constantly ran dry, and I had to give up after asking for my check, and bring it up to the register. The whole time, the staff was either hanging out with friends in the other room, or sitting at the register drinking coffee (about 10 feet from me, in full eye contact range). It was really pathetic. Maybe they kick it into second gear for a dinner crowd, but my experience at the lunch buffet was awful. Go at your own risk (or at least only go if you don't value your time).

This is a review of the Cowboy Tuesday night shenanigan. Country music at an Indian restaurant? In Weymouth?! Yeah, I was ASTOUNDED to say the least, even more so when I found out the band was awesome! None of that new age Taylor Swift crap, but old school country/folk music from the 50s and 60s - I loved it! The restaurant had a "Cowboy/Indian" buffet that night which consisted of Tandoori Chicken, Veggie Pakoras, Chicken Kebabs, Onion Rings, French Fries, and salad. What a mismatch!!! The Pakoras and Tandoori Chicken were very standard but good while the Chicken Kebab had a strange consistency, as if the chicken clearly come from a supermarket freezer. I didn't bother with the French Fries and Onion Rings. I ordered some Kulfi at the end of the meal and that was one hell of a dessert. I had a great time last Tuesday night but I do wish the buffet had a greater selection of Indian treats instead of Onion Rings and French Fries.

Comparing the most recent reviews to the older ones, it would appear Indian Delight has stepped up their game. I would agree. We first visited this week for my wife's birthday. We have three kids under 5 so on the rare occasions we eat out, we go as early as possible to avoid annoying other diners. (You're welcome.) On this day, we were the first dinner patrons and the staff seemed a bit startled by our 5pm appearance in their door. But they sprang into action and were very attentive. (Another benefit to early-bird dining.) First, they were very accommodating of the kids and our special needs with them. They were friendly and solicitous, especially, I think, when they saw how our kids took to the Indian food. We started with the Tandoori sampler platter. (Actually, we started with poppadom and chutney and the chutney was top notch; a good sign.) The sampler was very good. The chicken and lamb were tender and juicy and everything was delicious. My 4-year-old got the soup special of Chinese chicken and corn soup. Now, keep in mind, she's a very picky eater and she was gobbling up that soup and raving about it. She even asked at one point if she could save the rest to have for lunch the next day. (By the way, after a night in the fridge, the liquid was gelled, meaning that it was made with real homemade stock and not something out of a can. Another good sign!) My wife got chicken vindaloo, my sister-in-law got lamb saag, and I got the special Tandoori seafood masala. At first, when the waiter asked how hot I wanted it--mild, medium, or hot-- I ordered it hot, but he warned me that hot is hot for them so I might try something less so. As a younger man, I would have taken that as a challenge to my manhood. But as a middle-aged man who's sought out the Tums bottle once too often in the middle of the night lately, I took the path of discretion and asked for the medium heat. That turned out to be a good decision. Your mileage may vary. The vindaloo and saag were quite good, perhaps some of the best I've tried. The seafood masala was good, although I found the lobster meat to be a bit overcooked. The scallops, on the other hand, were tender and perfect. The kids shared a tandoori chicken platter, most of which we took home because they were pretty full from the appetizers, but we all loved it. Some tandoori chicken can be dry and tough, but this was moist and flavorful, even the next day. Dinner for three adults and three kids with several appetizers was reasonable, but expensive enough that we won't do it often. For a couple or a group of singles, it's definitely reasonably priced. It's not the prettiest place or the prettiest location, but it's serviceable and clean. About the only real negative was the tap water, which isn't a huge deal really. I thought it had a funny taste so I stuck to drinking my Coke. In any case, it was an excellent meal for a great birthday dinner and I look forward to trying the buffet, which might be a very good deal at their prices.

I only ate at the weekday lunch buffet...but it was good. More Spicy than other Indian buffets but I like that.

My husband I continue to eat here... and we miss it when we are away! When we are traveling and eating indian food at other places, we always compare it to Indian Delight. Just wanted to add that the guys here are really great. One more than one occasion we have gone in at closing and have been served. We're talking mops are out, chairs are up, and kitchen staff is lingering in the back enjoying a soda before they shut down for the night. We have gone in and have been able to still place an order! While sitting to the left of the bar you can see in the kitchen a bit... I could see them making the food from scratch! Did not see containers coming out of the fridge and just nuking them in the microwave. For this reason I have upped their rating to a 5! Gotta love fresh Indian food at 10:30 at night!

This place is not bad! I came here with a friend of mine the other night. I was a bit hesitant going to an Indian restaurant in Weymouth, MA but I bit my tongue and stepped on in. I had a lamb dish which was quite tasty with Potato Naan. I also ordered a mango milkshake which was just ok. My buddy had some Masala I believe which he quite enjoyed. The only problem, if you can call it a problem, was that the wait staff was somewhat inattentive. We were the only ones in the restaurant and were still waiting a few minutes for service. Everything considered, it was a good experience. I would definitely go again if vising the area!

I like this place. I haven't had Indian food much but I know what I eat here is always tasty. The service can be slow sometimes but I think its more true to the Indian culture. It is pretty clean and and there is plenty on the menue. The buffet can't be beat for both the price and the selection, not too big but not too small. The only thing that concerns me is that they have never been that busy. Its is usualy pretty quiet but I think maybe Indian food isn't that popular here in Weymouth. The restaurant has been around for quite a few years even know its not packed so they must be doing something right. I hope they dont go under cause I realy like the food here.

When my Indian food virgin father said he wanted to try Indian food, I was skeptical. We were discussing where to get lunch and he brought up Indian Delight. So, I said yes and we went to lunch. Dad had the buffet. For around $10, you get a buffet of typical Indian foods such as tandoori chicken, curry, samosas and naan. Dad tried many new things and liked it. He said he would definitely be back with my brother. I decided to order off of the menu instead of the buffet. I had the chicken vidaloo, very spicy. The food was good and the food was perfectly spiced. I would get the vindaloo again when I go back. The restaurant was clean and the service was good. I still like the Punjab Cafe's food better but I would come back. My father wants me to come back with him again soon. I have another Indian food convert on my hands.

I was looking for something different other than the usual fare Weymouth has to offer and did I get it! I tried everything on the buffet and I am now in love with this cuisine. Friendly gentleman met me at the door and he knew I had never been there before. He pointed out some special items on the buffet and said I could take it to go. This was very generous and affordable because most places make you put your take out container on a scale to calculate a cost. I plan to visit as often as possible, it's a real treat!

I like food, food tastes good. The food at Indian Delight pleasures my pallet like an adult star might pleasure Charlie Sheen in Las Vegas. That is to say it was relatively inexpensive, there was some sweating involved, and only I had a good time. I had the buffet and while there were only a few options available, they were all VERY tasty and greatly exceeded my expectations, unlike say the Bunny Ranch in Nevada where there are many options to choose from but none of them are appealing. The staff were all very friendly and knowledgeable which led to my overall enjoyment of the restaurant. The ambiance certainly leaves something to be desired so I wouldn't recommend this establishment as a first date location, but if you're looking to get down to business with some quality Indian food and ignore your surroundings, this is the place for you.

We've eaten there mant times and the food has always been excellant and consitant. The buffet is a good way to go if your new to indian food. My wife being Indian has tried many places and this is her favorite. The staff is polite and accomidating, maybe they like my wife?. The prices are very fare. Highly recommended.

Well, I brought my Dad here for the buffet (along with the kid) and it was just kinda... sad. The parking lot practically had tumbleweeds blowing through it; there was one other guy there when we entered. At one o'clock. Weird, right? Little Miss Glass is Half-FULL (ah, ME) is all, "Hey, more for us!" The food wasn't terrible; on the contrary it was pretty good. (My two standouts: the chicken tikka masala was just as tasty as the first time I tried it, but probably due to it being on the buffet, it lacked heat my Dad and I both would have enjoyed. The vegetable pakoras were crispy on the outside, tender on the inside and very flavorful.) The buffet just left a lot to be desired. One plain basmati rice (which was just fine, actually), a meat dish (Beef Korma?), the chicken, a "vegetable curry", an app and some fairly heavy naan does not an exciting Indian buffet make. I was so looking forward to trying dishes I hadn't yet, but it was disappointing. If they added some new dishes to the buffet, I think they'd have a much bigger draw. C'mon Indian Delight... bring on the Vindaloo! :0)

We were looking for Indian food to pick up on the way home, and this is the place that turned up first on Google. After a quick Yelping, it looked like a safe bet. We ordered some Tikka Masala, with nan. I went in to pick it up and asked them to add an order of samosas. Not 5 mintues later they brought out the samosas and I was off and running. Atmosphere inside is nice, but nothing over the top. Reminds me of countless Asian places that you would love to go to as a kid. Has a small bar near the kitchen and looks to be able to hold quite a few people. We polished through a samosa on the way home - it was a nice combination of potato and peas, with plenty of herbs and spices. We got home and dug right in to the Masala. I ordered mine spicy, which I had never done before, and it was SPICY. A bit on the "yeah, this is actually causing pain" side, but it was really tasted so I kept going. The nan is great! It's a good mixture of soft dough and crispy/burned parts. Rice was perfectly cooked. We will definitely go back here to fill our Indian cravings.

The food at India Delight was good. I had the Shahi Paneer and my man friend had the Lamb as usual and said it was good, and it must have been since he really polished it off. The nan was decent but nothing to write home about as one order was pretty burnt and the other was a lil soggy and heavy. My mango lassi had ground pistachio powder in it, which was delicious, and which after many many Indian meals, I had never had before. The service however... ehh... I would say primarily awkward and slow. The woman who waited on us for the first portion of our dinner was an American woman with strange mannerisms who hovered and lingered longer than she should've and whom I refused to look in the eye because she made me uncomfortable. She asked if we had ever been to India Delight before and we said--no we hadn't. She then launched into a 15 minute monologue of what Indian food was, what a samosa and nan were, how things can be ordered at varying degrees of spiciness and basically the entire gastronomical history of each and every ingredient on the menu and where in India it originated from. I tried several times to tell her that just because we hadn't eaten at THIS indian place didn't mean that we hadn't eaten at ANY indian place. But she wasn't having it, so the descriptions continued. When she started to tell me for the second time what ingredients were in a samosa, I finally said "WE KNOW!" It was bad. We also had to basically beg for our check because by this time the crazy woman had gone home and perhaps forgotten to tell one of her coworkers to keep and eye on us. So anyways, the prices are what you'd expect. The food is ok/good/decent depending on which thing you get, but the service isn't stellar. I'd go back maybe, but it really is worth the drive to Punjab in Quincy. The food and service are worth the 10-15 minute drive.

My boyfriend and I recently stumbled upon this place and loved it. I'm not very familiar with Indian food at all had no problem picking things out from the buffet that looked delicious! The owners son was there while we were in and was very nice when we spoke to him. We will go back again for sure.

I've been to a couple of Indian restaurants in MA, but I think it was this one that rocked my world. The food was insanely good. I've been to Indian restaurants in other parts of the country and this one is one of the best I've been to so far. I don't know indian food too well so I went to the buffet and O-M-G. Yum. Fresh, tasty, flavorful, and prepared so well. I died and went to heaven after my first bite. Will go back again for sure the next time I'm in the area. Such delicious food.

My husband and I went there last night, and we had two drinks, naan bread and I had the chicken korma. I got full real quick so I brought my food home. So today I heat up my left overs, which was two pieces of the chicken korma and some rice. In the middle of my big piece of chicken, it was completely raw in the middle. I am horrified, last night I thought my food was a bit fatty, but it was probly RAW pieces not fatty! I will never go back, this place is not as clean as a couple Indian restaurants that I frequent in Quincy and Sharon, MA.

indian delight got me hooked on indian food a number of years ago. prior, i had had some unfortunate experiences with indian food and was very turned off, but indian delight changed all that. for a vegetarian, they have a ton of options (however, all of my friends + family that eat meat love the place too). they have my favorite paratha out of any other indian places. i love love love their saag paneer as well. just as a warning, at first the waitstaff may seem a bit rude... however, once you go a few times you realize that they are just trying to give you your space while you eat... if you want the check, be sure to stop picking at your plate (hard to do!) and potentially slow down conversation at the table. very yum.

Came here for the dinner special for 2 for $40. I brought someone who had never had Indian food before. I thought to myself, Please let this place be good, so he will not be forever scarred by Indian food. First off, the table looked like it hadn't been wiped for about a week. These rings on the table would certainly have freaked Monica Gellar out. Service was spotty, but when there was interaction, it was friendly. The dinner for 2 includes a lot of food, enough for a party of 3-4 even. At one point my companion asked, Are you sure that price is not PER PERSON? It wasn't. Everything was delicious, from the tandoori chicken to the lamb saag. Good flavors with just the right amount of spiciness. We were so full, we couldn't finish the rice pudding dessert that came with our meal. Overall, we enjoyed this place, and thought it was good bang for the buck.

This place has definitely kicked it up a notch since I last wrote about it in 2007. The quality of the buffet has improved - decent selection and quality, relatively good bang for your buck. I came here for dinner recently and was pleasantly surprised. As expected, the food was better than the buffet... but not marginally better - much better. We went with the 'dinner for 2' for about 40 bucks (includes soup, pakoras for an app, mixed meats on a sizzling platter, choice of 2 dishes, rice, naan, and dessert. Well worth it. Will definitely be back for more.

I'm pretty sure that this waitress' eyes stole part of my soul. She was the most intense woman that I have ever encountered - maybe that has ever lived. She paced and hovered and pretty much either frightened or perplexed the beejesus out of myself, my friend and the two other diners we now share a lifelong bond with as a result of surviving the ordeal of this woman serving us an early Indian dinner. I'm not one to share knowing glances with fellow patrons - here it was unavoidable. I have tried at least five times to translate the things I saw and experienced into words for this review - nothing quite captures it. TV always makes everything better: Imagine that Matt Parkman's Dad aka The Nightmare Man (Heroes) and Top Chef's Somolier Steven had a baby, and that baby was a pointy woman who served Indian Food in Weymouth. Let's just say we dined in silence, didn't breathe until out of the parking lot, and felt an immediate need for a deep tissue massage. As awkward as the service was, it was also slow and inattentive. And, despite her erratic plate piling and jerky movements made with a wet rag, the waitress failed to clear even one of five or six empty dirty tables in the time we were there - she even sat a man dining alone at a table for ten rather than wiping off any with lesser seating. As far as the food goes, it really was great. My friend and I agreed that the flavors in the sauces - both my tikka masala and her van da loo - were excellently layered and out-shined those at both the Indian Restaurant formerly known as Namaste in Plymouth and Punjab in Quincy. Still, when we took our leftovers to go, we weren't offered extra rice as is always the case at the other two establishments. And, the check was at least ten dollars higher than the same dinner would have cost us at either. As much as I enjoyed the meal, I'd only come within 50 feet of the front door again if a scout I'd sent ahead of time assured me that my server was someone different. Even now - I'm still scared.

Truly excellent naan! Worth going just for that. We had the vegetarian apetizer platter - nicely fried and tasty. Sadly, our meal went down hill from there. The vegetable biryani serving was large, but it lacked a bit in flavor. Then we tried a seafood dish with lobster, shrimp, etc. Oh, dear! This is only the second time in my decades of restaurant eating that I spat out food because it was so far past its prime. In their defense, the people there are great! When we mentioned to our waiter that the fish was spoiled, he had the kitchen make a fresh batch. By the time it came, though, we no longer had the heart to try it. Great folks. Great naan. Reasonable prices. But, at least this one night, the other food was bad enough that I'd never recommend this restaurant to a friend.

This place is just ok. I have gone here a few times now for the buffet and everytime I go it seems like the quality gets a little worse each time. For example, I went in the other day and they french fries on the buffet...really? This is an Indian restaurant; I didn't come for the french fries obviously (Pure sign of laziness I say). The other dishes on the buffet, like the panner, chicken tikka masala, and the lentisl, were very one dimensional in taste and everything mostly tasted the same. The buffet was a little lacking in selection too. I'd rather go to Punjab Cafe in Quincy over here any day.

It's tough to rate Indian Delight with just one scale of stars. One the one hand, the food has been pretty good. I'd give that 4 stars. When the food is good, it's very good, but there have been a few times when the food has just been ok. I've had good luck with the specials. The vegetarian appetizers are always very tasty. Overall, I would definitely recommend this place for food. My issue is the service and atmosphere. You walk in praying that you will not be the only party in the place. The place has been totally dead all 4 or so times we've been there. It's unnerving. And then there's the service. The main waiter is so apathetic in manner that he seems like he could possibly be hostile. The pace is slow but ok until the main course comes out. Then, he disappears so long that you end up sitting in the empty dining room for 20 min after you're done eating waiting for him to take food away and bring the check. The overall effect is that you're tense from the second you walk in until you finally manage to pay and run out the door. My recommendation: Take out. The food is definitely worth the drive just to run in and out.

I had an (unfair) bias against Indian food b/c the smell of curry is a bit off-putting to me, and made me think I wouldn't like Indian food. I am *such* an idiot. One day I decided that I wanted to try Indian food b/c it seemed lame to rule out an entire group of cuisine based on a finicky nose. So, my husband and I pulled up their website and selected a number of random things. We. Are. Hooked. Indian Delight's food is always fresh, prepared quickly, and tastes unbelievable. You can really tell they take the time with their dishes since the flavors are rich and layered. I've tried recreating some of the stuff at home and it doesn't work out - lots of Indian recipes are labor intensive and I haven't been able to master it. The crew at Indian Delight has it down to an art so I'll just leave it up to them! We get two orders of Chicken Tikka Masala and garlic naan every week. Once I get sick of it (that'll never happen) we'll start to branch out more...but for now nothing satisfies my cravings like it. The staff are very laid back and friendly - the man who usually answers now knows me by name :-) It's a little sad to see not many people go in there so I hope this review will encourage people to try something new. For those of you who might be a little nervous trying new things I really recommend the Chicken Tikka Masala (it comes in mild, medium and hot - the medium is pretty spicy to let them know your preference. I also get it w/o cilantro b/c I think it detracts from the spicy, creamy goodness). I want more people to eat there to make sure the place stays around!!! Can't wait for our next experience and I'm so glad I got over my curry phobia b/c Indian Delight is DELICIOUS!! Oh and p.s: The smell of curry now makes my mouth water :-)

Very good Indian food. The Garlic Naan was very flavorful with a soft and warm texture. Chicken curry was excellent: meat was not dry and rubbery and the curry flavor was strong. Lentil soup was delicious as well.

We went here for the first time - wife and i- and we found a hair in our rice, the food was lukewarm at best and the place looked filthy. The waiter seemed like he was having a bad day, and barely concerned himself with us. the service was horrible! on several occasions touched our food with his bare hands. We even saw him sneeze a couple times into his hands without bothering to go wash. This place should be reported to the board of health.

There is no doubt that the food at Indian Delight is excellent and authentic. My husband and I have gone there at least 3 times and we always leave extremely satisfied. The only things we can complain about are the service and the atmosphere. One time we were there on a busy Saturday night and there were dirty tables and booths left uncleaned for at least half an hour after the customers have left, and incoming customers (we were one of them) had to be seated at tables that weren't ideal for the party size. The staff are polite but don't do much other than the minimum. Go to Indian Delight if you are looking for awesome Indian food and don't mind service or atmosphere!

This is the best restaurant we found in the Boston area. It gets 5 stars despite the rather lame service, because the food is that good. A bit pricey for dinner, but the lunch buffet is a good deal. I highly recommend the Tandoori Chicken, Naan, and anything with cream sauce.

2.5 stars. I was encouraged by the signs on the outside of the building boasting of three previous reader's choice awards. Found the food to be mediocre. As mentioned by others they use big cubes of chicken in the tikka masala and they are not very tender although the sauce was very good. They had a beef curry dish the day I went but the beef was dry. The lunch buffet at 7.95 is reasonably priced and I love Indian buffets but the food doesn't stand out. I left puzzled by the signs I saw when first entering. The food must have been better at one time but to my disappointment not the time I was there. I don't plan on returning. Punjab has much better food but unfortunately does not offer a lunch buffet during the week.

I cracked up reading these reviews - my feelings exactly about the extremely awkward waitress. She actually went into some long diatribe about digestion with the table next to us and use the phrase "when it comes out the other end" when talking about Indian Food!!! My husband and I had tears coming down our face, we laughed so hard. But it is a bummer that it isn't a good eat-in experience. We take-out a lot and love love love the food.

After a day at Starland we stumbled upon this place on our way home. We were starving, and even though we dont usually just waltz into an Indian place we dont know and trust already. However, we didnt know much around there anyway so we just stopped in. The place was empty... I'm talking VACANT. Not a good sign we thought. But it WAS a sunday at exactly 5pm. The guys who run this place are hilarious. They were funny and friendly and made us feel really welcome. We ordered the Aloo Naan and Onion Naan as appetizers (because for some reason we order 4 naans each time we go). The aloo naan was perfect and the onion naan was very yummy too. We ordered chicken tikka masala and a chic pea dish that also ends in masala but I forget what its called. The vegetarian chix pea dish was BOMB. So good. The only thing was that it came served in what looked like a large mint julep cup. It was filled to the top so it was awkward to serve and spilled quite a bit. If they put it in a regular low pot that would be even better. The decor could use some updating and the pink napkins are a bit obnoxious. If it didnt look like such a dive outside, it would certainly have more customers, because the food is pretty solid. We took a TON of food home as usual and I cant wait to eat it again tonight. I dont know how often I will be in the area, but I know I would go back in a heartbeat if I ever was... if only to hang out with those dudes again. haha.

This Weymouth restaurant has some of the best Indian food on the South Shore. They have a daily lunch buffet and I have yet to experience a "miss" from their menu. Their food is consistently tasty. The room is pretty standard for an Indian restaurant. It won't make you feel like you're in New Delhi but you won't think your at a fast food joint either. I love their peshawari naan, baingin bharta and chicken briyani. This is one of my favorite places for take-out! Indian Delight has a daily lunch buffet.

Went for a weekend buffet priced at 9.95/person. The price was pretty average for an indian buffet, but unfortunately, so was the quality. The chicken masala was blend, the pieces of chicken were so big that they didnt have any flavor. Not to mention that I got diarrhea right after the meal.. and the rude waitress just couldnt wait for us to finish to put away our plates and give us the check (she did that to tables around us as well). I was going to give it a 2 star but they did have good kheer and that cream spinach dish was also decent. The samosa was horrible though - it was too dry and full of potatoes... yuck.

I ordered take-out from this place last night and I must say, the food is DELICIOUS! I moved to Abington from Boston a year ago and was sorely missing the great Indian food that I was used to getting in the city. This place tops most of those! I ordered a huge variety too and was not disappointed with one thing. Their samosas are particularly buttery and yummy. Very good! I can say that I felt bad for the Indian man behind the counter when I walked in, because the place was empty, and he was wondering how I had heard of them (I searched for Indian places near Abington online - this was the ONLY ONE!).... Thank goodness it lived up to expectations. I would recommend this to friends.

Who would have expected such great Indian food in a South Shore town like Weymouth? It amazes me every time I go in that they manage to stay in business. I would expect it to be more of a success in a town like Scituate. Weymouth locals generally don't have what you would call adventurous palate. My wife and I almost always get take-out dinner and it is consistently excellent. Consider take-out as 4 1/2 stars. It would be 5 but we do once in a long while get a wrong item in our order and although some staff are excellent, others seem aloof. We've just made a habit of checking the order before we leave the parking lot. The restaurant itself is clean but nothing special. They serve alcohol, have an pretty good lunch buffet, and you can see your food being prepared in the kitchen. For us the proof is in the food quality and they have great traditional Indian as well as a nice assortment of Southern Indian dishes. You don't have to lower your expectations for South Shore Indian food! No reservations needed.

India is the birth place of Chicken Tikka Masala and Curries. Indian foods are prepared with a blend of finely mixed spices quite popular across the region. The spices develop the rich taste in Indian food enough to boggle your mind.
