I frequently order from Sapporo. Every time is amazing. I must admit I primarily order sushi. The Deluxe platter is always generous and FRESH. I pair it with the seaweed salad appetizer. The salad and soup included make this a super meal! I have been to the buffet and enjoyed amazing food until I'm stuffed! My kids love the cooked sushi and teriyaki chicken. A few nights ago I stopped in for takeout and stayed at the bar for a beer. I think it's the only restaurant I've been to with Sapporo on tap! Love it! The bartender was so friendly too. Everyone raves about the Mai Tai's. They are superb! Love this place. So glad to recommend it highly!!!

I've gone here ever since the place has opened and I have to say it's one of the best Korean restaurants in Westborough. There isn't much selection of korean places compared to Boston and their menu has probably everything you would expect. I remember the menu being a lot larger and they've definitely minimized their selection since. I love their sushi (spicy tuna, and caterpillar) are good and fresh. Korean BBQ is great (you have to order 2 of the dishes in order to do BBQ, each being around $20), except I feel like they give you a little bit less than what's expected. The waiter does all the grilling for you. Great find in Westboro, if you want something a little special try the nacho appetizer dish that's completely blanking from my mind, and ask for the dessert menu! Who doesn't like Asian-styled ice cream?

I do enjoy Sapporo's sushi and find myself here whenever I'm in town. Typically, the sashimi has always been fresh. I love the Hawaiian roll and my boyfriend loves the Crispy Philli-Cali roll. Their mai tai's are pretty exceptional and there is always a special roll available to change things up. We have had some issues with service. Most recently, our server changed halfway through our dinner without ever being told. We sat for over 30 minutes until we found grabbed another waiter, wondering why our waitress was nowhere to be found and our food still missing. Apparently she told the new server that we had food coming...or that we were one of her table's. Pretty poor service for such a well known restaurant.

Amazing Korean dishes. Went in on a Friday evening and were seated in no time. Service was fast and efficient. The kimchi was just perfect. I ordered the bibimbap with chicken and it was fantastic. Would surely come in here again.

My coworkers and I came here for lunch a few weeks ago, because where can you go wrong with all-you-can-eat sushi? Well, there's a lot of ways to go wrong with that, but thankfully Sapporo wasn't that kind of place. You're not paying for high-end sushi, and you don't get it. At $12 for a lunch buffet, you get what you pay for. The sushi was restocked often, as was the hot food: pork, sweet and spicy chicken, the normal. The only issue I had here was that while everything on the hot aisle was well-labeled with what it was, nothing in the sushi area was labeled. I had to track down someone, no easy task surprisingly, to ask what was in each of the sushi rolls. As it turns out, most of them contained crab, which I'm glad I asked about as I cannot eat crab. Quality-wise the sushi was ok, maybe a little mushy, but for the price you pay it's a good deal. All in all, if the price was higher, the number of stars would be lower, but there's a limited number of places one can go and get buffet sushi that won't make you sick, at a reasonable price. I'd return.

Love this place! Me and my boyfriend come here when we crave sushi. The volcano roll is the best roll I've tasted. I have gone to more than 15 sushi spots but nothing beats their volcano!

Went here for dinner and it was packed! Quite the popular place. Had their bibimbap which was quite good. The employees were all very concerned that I didn't know how to eat it with the raw egg, which was kind of nice, but a little overwhelming since several employees kept bringing it up. Perhaps they have had issues in the past. Either way, still enjoyed the food and atmosphere so much that I went back for the lunch buffet which is great! The Japchae does have an interesting flavor, but the variety of food options is really good. I especially like their spicy pork!!

I stopped into this restaurant after a client visit as a way of killing time before getting on the road back to NY. Let me just say that I was favorably impressed with the quality of the food and flavors. I would not hesitate to stop in again if I am in the area.

My wife and I eat here regularly and tonight she said to me that this is the best Korean BBQ she has ever eaten, and it dawned on me how retrieval that is! Mind you, she's been to Korea a couple times and we both eat Asian a LOT, so this should be considered high praise. The bulgogi Is terrific, in both the pork and rib-eye form ( I greatly prefer the pork), the sides seem to be home made, and the drinks are yummy! Oh yea, and the sushi is pretty darn good too! Try the TEK-Hama roll !! Last, the manager (Valera) used to wait on us and was outstanding, but apparently has risen to run the place ( a well deserved promotion, as he's out and about making sure the customers are happy!) and out new favorite waitress Louisa was training tonight but did an outstanding job listening to our requests and satisfying the special drink requests!! Great Resturant! Enjoy!!!

I was absolutely astounded by the wonderful experience I had at Sapporo. I ventured out after one of the many Massachusetts blizzards of 2015 hungry for some exploration. I wound up at Sapporo for a late lunch. Our waitress was absolutely wonderful, offering recommendations and checking in every few minutes to make sure our food was well received. I ordered a salmon roll and Ikura sashimi to begin my meal and was delighted by the quality that I received. The sushi chef set my Ikura in a hollowed lemon (with a little umbrella) adding both taste and atmosphere. My salmon roll sat next to the lemon sculpture arranged in the shape of a pyramid. The quality of the fish and ingredients was top notch, complimented by the expert presentation. For my main course I had the standard stone-bowl beef bibimbap. As with most bibimbap dishes, this was as much fun to watch cook as it was to eat. The vegetables were fresh and bowl was able to cook my raw egg quickly. The only thing I would have added is a tiny bit more beef on top of it all. All things considered, I simply will have to try this place again. 10/10 will recommend.

We were in the area recently, and ordered sushi (take-out) from Sapporo. The Sweet Potato Roll tasted great, but the sweet potato was not fully cooked and a bit crunchy. The Mexican Roll was great; could have been a bit spicier. The Hama Crunch Roll was covered in greasy fried scallions, but once uncovered, was OK. And the Spicy Crunchy Tuna Roll was OK, just very mushy and not very fresh. All in all, an average experience. The food tasted good, but just some flaws in the execution.

Had sushi here again with my son the other night. We tried a special roll called CANDY CRUSH. It was great. We also had the green monster. I have never been disappointed with anything at Sapporo and the Mai tais are delicious!

The food was good, both adults and kids. Loved the sushi. But the one thing that impressed us the most was the service. The lady who served us was amazing... Always ready when we needed her. We went with our three kids and well things happen with kids. She was always a step ahead of our needs. Seriously the best service we have had in a while. I recommend this place.

went to high school in northborough, i'm back during the holidays and some long weekends to visit the rents. Occasionally i'm around during the week and when it's lunch time I basically have two wants in the area. 1. sapporo's awesome lunch buffet filled with sushi delights, kick butt crispy pork with a tangy sauce, i can't spell out what it's called, high quality japanese/korean short grain rice, a wide selection of food and of course good service. 2. when i'm not feeling asian, mmm i love me some regatta club. hit that spot up for some nice bread and mega sandies.

This was off the Kimchi chain! If you like spicy then you might want to recheck your game with this situation. This will put your tastebuds to the flame of flavor. Recommended by the nice waiter with an honest suggestion and endless side dishes, make sure you buy an extra roll of toilet paper prior to your visit. I got the spicy pork dish and it did not disappoint. This is why I love to travel so I can hit up these hidden gems in the heart of planet earth.

The food is less authentically Korean than Westborough Korean, but it is still delicious. Like many Korean restaurants in the U.S., there is a Japanese/sushi menu available as well. They are open later than most places for dinner, making it very convenient.

So just had lunch there as my daughter had a half day at school and we decided to try something new. We did the lunch buffet and I have to say I was disappointed. I had called ahead as my daughter is a fussy eater and I wanted to make sure they had sushi. I was assured that there are 4 to 5 types of sushi. We got there about 1pm so it may have been later than the typical lunch time but well within their lunch schedule. The food at the buffet was pretty dried out and had obviously been sitting for a while but was not too bad. The part that was most disappointing was that there was just one roll of sushi that was in the sushi bar and when I asked if more was coming out - I was told that the sushi chefs were not making any more. I asked the waiter to tell the manager that I wanted more sushi and finally one more role came out... The service was good and I may give them another try but this was not a good experience.

So I decided to go eat out tonight and I decided I wanted some Korean food so I came here! The decor was very nice and I was seated right away. I got the shumai appetizer and the stone bowl bipimbap for my meal. I have to say, the service was surprisingly fast. I had brought a book with me to read during the downtime and I only got to read 4 pages in between finishing my appetizer and my meal coming out(and I'm a pretty fast reader too)! Overall, great meal. Everything was delicious. I do want to come back here again to try the Korean BBQ, just need to get some friends to come along with me. ;D

First time here this week for lunch and I had a really good experience. The food was delicious and atmosphere was good for quietly catching up with a friend. It's conveniently located next to a great nail salon as well. Bonus! The dumplings were delicious as well at the side dish tray with lots of little yummy things to try. The staff was pleasant. They forgot about my friends salad order and we had to stop someone and ask for it. Otherwise, it was a good place and I'll definitely be going back again in the future for dinner.

My family and I was here yesterday, this is usually our place to go for Korean grill. However this time we were not impress at all. We ordered the Bulgoli and kalbi to grill. They were quite expensive. I'm not kidding you. it was 5 small slice of meat for $23. The Kalbi was thinly slice, probably less than a handful of meat. I thought it was quite expensive! I ask our server if they had cut their portions in third because the portion is so small. So I ordered another portion of Kalbi. This time is was a little more meat. ( they must have heard me questioned about the portion size) I wish I had take pictures of the tiny portions. 2 order for $43 was just enough meat to cover the small grill .Seems to me they have cut their portions in third or halves. On top of that the rice was yellow and smelly- must be yesterday's rice or something. End up didn't eat the rice. On the other hand, the sushi was good and tasteful!

I have been there for last 8 years. I give 3 out of 5 for the foods. The lunch buffet is not too bad. However, they raised the price almost every year. $13.99 for lunch buffet is too high. I remember the price was $8.99 about 7 years ago. I guess that $10.99-$11.99 is the right price.

I finally found the time to sit down and eat here vs just grabbing take out as I usually do. The service was very good and wait staff are very knowledgeable about the dishes. I ordered the dolsot bibim bap which is a staple menu item for all korean restaurants. The beef was flavored very well.

The sushi is fresh and a great value! The crab ragoons are a favorite and stuffed with filling. The Mai tais are small but strong and my favorite drink around the boroughs!!

Found this gem through Yelp coming back from a daytrip . While its in a strip mall, dont judge a book by its cover. Excellent food, great service. Udon noodles and a red pepper chicken entree were expertly prepared. The Korean sides were good, though was surprised at the inclusion of American potato salad. Daiquiri was just ok, wouldn't order it again. We will definitely come back again to try other entrees!

I grew up in Westborough. This place is in the old Iandoli plaza. If you too spent time in West-boring through the 80s and 90s, you know what I'm talking about. For those of you who think I sound like an idiot, read on to learn about how a space once occupied by some small grocery chain has been repurposed into a dining oasis in the middle of a culinary fallout zone in metro west. I woke up wanting sushi. The wife, who has her flaws, hates sushi. But - she was willing to find somewhere we could both escape our two children and eat. She said, "How about Sapporo?" I hit them up on Yelp. It's not that I haven't driven by a hundred times, it's just that they are fairly hidden between mixed martial arts and paint. "Strong Mai Thais and Great Sushi!" Yelp said. Now I'm paying attention. The drinks: I had a Mai Thai. I'm a sucker for rum. Too sweet. Don't mistake strong for sweet. Too much orange or pineapple juice. I switched to beer. The food: the sushi expectations were well-founded. I got a tuna/avocado roll and the rainbow roll. Really fresh. Great presentation. Maybe the best I've had in metro west. I'm not going back to Tenka on route 9 again. Ever. The service: over the top. Soup came out the same time as the meal. They comped the soup. The Korean appetizer tray is incredible. As busy as it was, everyone was engaging and focused on what else they could do. Prices were great. Compared to Samba in Framingham - the place is a deal.

Returned to do takeout at this restaurant and really liked the food we ordered, which included Chicken Yaki Udon, Omelet Fried Rice (beef fried rice with some kimchi flavor, with an omelet type wrap, kid's beef bulgogi, Tofu and Vegetable Teriyaki, and Pork Katsu. Everything tasted good. I especially like the tofu/veggie dish (though i had them put the teriyaki sauce on the side). Also liked the fried rice dish. Would probably skip the kid's version beef bulgogi next time and just order the adult size. Recommend.

I come from North Quincy, MA, so I know my Asian food. I came to this place during lunch and was pleasantly surprised. The buffet had a lot of typical stuff (i.e. japchae, bulgogi, gyoza, fried rice), but there were some dishes that surprised me. I was happy with the number of options! The food is a bit greasy, but what's Asian food without grease. There was great service, but I wish they kept an eye on the sushi. I didn't get to try any because it went to quickly.

Tried the Kalbi and loved it! The entree came with sides, as pictured by others, all of which were delish as well. Liked it so much went back for the lunch buffet to try a variety. Very good. And yes, I returned a third time while in the area....ordered the Dolsot Bibim Bap and scallion pancake. Again I enjoyed the food and service :-)

I ordered kalbi beef. I think they ran out of kalbi short rib beef. They gave me something else and told me it's kalbi beef. bleh! I couldn't eat it. The smell of the beef was overwhelming. My waiter was okay. He did his job. I wish my food was better.

This was an awesome place to have a quick lunch. I got the buffet and everything seemed really fresh and tasted great. If you're a meat eater you'll love it. I especially enjoyed the bulgogi and the spicy pork. Service was attentive with refilling drinks. It was a busy place but watching the sushi chefs preparing the sushi was particularly calming. I think the buffet price is a little too steep to go back and enjoy again on an ordinary day. But I don't regret the experience. Oh, and I wish they had more for desert! Not necessary, but I like having the choice to clear my palette with some sweet carbs :)

Found this restaurant in Foodies Magazine and Im so happy I came. Appetizers, sushi and udon soup were all perfect and the customer service was off the charts!! Overall superb experience. Server gave me a free roll on my next visit, not sure if they do this for everyone or if im just special ;) 5 star restaurant for sure!

The $11 buffet and delicious sushi and hibachi makes Sapporo a go-to. My family and I go probably twice a month because it is so great! On Tuesdays they have a delicious buffet with all of the favorites, and they have the absolute BEST fried rice (very light). The sushi is the best in the area by far. Any chance I have to come here I do.

Its a nice place to visit once in a while if you are to lazy to go to Cambridge or Boston. The food is good and the service is etiquette. I prefer to eat sushi there as oppose to Korean BBQ however my kids like the meat, that they have to grill themselves at the table. The process of Korean BBQ is very unique and extremely popular with families with young kids.

This place is great! Korean and Japanese are my favorite Asian cuisines and this place blends them nicely. We had green tea, the volcano, bibimbap, and the sashimi seaweed salad. Everything was a hit! I can't wait to go back and try more things!

The sushi here is very good. Very fresh and well executed. We've eaten here a number of times, both fine-in and take-out, and we have never been let down. This is a great, every day restaurant for sushi. Unfortunately, I have yet to try the Korean BBQ, but it always looks very good.

My favorite restaurant in Westborough, Sapporo offers some of the best sushi around, as well as an appetizing selection of entrees. Sapporo features the ever-popular David behind the bar. His potent, yet delicious, Mai Tais are concocted using his secret recipe that dates back to the Honolulu restaurant that closed in the Mid 90's. It's fair to say that David and his Mai Tais have a cult following of sorts. The weekday lunch buffet is second-to-none, featuring about half a dozen varieties of freshly-rolled sushi, as well as appetizers, noodles, rice, and meats. Amazingly, the total bill per person (sans drinks) is about $11.50! Definitely a reasonable pricing, considering you'll have to loosen your belt a few notches on the way out. Try these: Appetizers - Vegetable Tempura Sushi - Playboy Roll, Orange Crunch Roll, Dragon Fire Roll, Spider Roll Entrees - Salmon Teriyaki, Jap Chae (noodles), Shrimp Fried Rice, Beef Bulgogi

What a great time we had here and I have Yelp to thank for it! We were headed to SkyZone to use the indoor trampolines on school vacation week. I wanted to take my kids someplace a little different. I gave them the choice (this usually works best) they could go to Uno's or try an Asian Buffet. The word BUFFET is the magic word with my kids so they went for it. After seeing all the other reviews (i had never heard of Sapporo... or Westborough for that matter) we went. My kids tried and LOVED all kinds of different foods. I thought we would be in there till they packed up the buffet. My kids ate: octopus, sushi, tofu, veggies, dishes they had never heard of. Everything was good. I don't think I could find a complaint. Wait staff was great, kept our diet cokes full the whole time. I would drive the hour away just to eat here again.

I love this place! It is the first Korean restaurant I have tried. The staff is welcoming. The first time we came, the waitress suggested Stone Pot Bibimbap. It is a large, hot, stone bowl with rice, fresh vegetables, beef brisket, and an egg. I liked it so much that I ordered it several times since. For an appetizer, people at the table share a tray of six specialties, all in small bowls. This is another great way to try different things. Usually the tray has kimchi, fish cakes, noodles, and potato salad. The mixed drinks are good too. I recommend the pumpkin martini or mango martini. We enjoy bringing family here. Portions are generous, everyone gets something they like, and we all leave happy and full!

I decided to go here after reading the great reviews. I ordered Jap Chae for take out and was so disappointed. The noodles were so dry that they all stuck together in the shape of the container like a brick. The meat was just as dry and stringy. It tasted bland and nothing at all like Jap Chae. I will most definitely NOT be coming back. What a disappointment.

This place is great if you want a strong Mai Tai and sushi. I came here looking to fulfill my Korean food craving, but was slightly disappointed because it was more of a Japanese place than Korean. This is why I gave them 4 stars. However, the hwe dup bab was good. Little tip: They also hide their soju for people who ask for it. Only select dishes come with the side dishes (banchan), which for me has always come with every dish and is a standard for my true Korean restaurants. Overall, I had a good time.

This place is great for all (including families with kids). Sushi is fresh and tasty while the Korean specialties are good too. The Bulgogi is awesome. My kids order that every time.

How have I not written a review for Sapporo? My family and I are regulars here, whether it's a Friday night dinner, or just a random craving for Korean flavors (which happen quite often). It's almost always packed, but the service is impeccable and the staff is very attentive to any allergies or dietary restrictions. I almost always get the Dolsot Bibimbap with plum wine (they pair PERFECTLY), and my family likes the Avocado Ball and Vegetable Tempura appetizers for sharing. When i'm sick, i'll get a huge bowl of the spicy Yuk Gae Jang soup with brisket, and I feel better instantly. :) Big thank you to Sapporo for bringing fantastic food to Westborough.

Sapporo is great! We order from here all the time at the office. My only complaint is that lately their Spicy Tuna Salad has been slipping. Very sad considering this is one of my favorites! It's a toss up whether you're going to get a legitimate salad or some pathetic little 4x 6 inch box of what seems to be 4 leaves of lettuce with some tuna, sauce and avocado... Some of my favorite rolls they offer? Naruto - low-carb roll & amazing Tiger Eye Fiesta We always order for pick up so I'm not sure of the inside atmosphere. However I do know that they recently redid a lot of the inside and it looks great!

So, some friends wanted to get together for "Korean BBQ"... And IMHO, when people reference that phrase, I am assuming they're looking for the table-side grill experience of having meats and veggies grilled by the server and/or get involved yourself. In the Central MA area, I found that I was hard pressed to find a place...then lo and behold...Sapporo Korean BBQ and Sushi. I know...I am not sure I would visit a Big Tex's Italian Pasta and BBQ either, but I digress. Having never tried the place before, I gave my friends this disclaimer, but it seemed to deter them not. Made reservations with OpenTable.com ...6 of us for a 7:30pm showing. Being nervous as I didn't get a confirmation email, I called the place and sure enough, no record. Thus I verbally gave my reservation to the host. Upon arriving the table wasn't quite ready...but the impression I got from the host and hostess was they were a bit nervous when I asked if there had been a problem with the reservation. They replied, '...sometimes people stay at their tables longer than usual.' Mmm, ok. Fine. We sat down and immediately ordered up a bottle of the House Cabernet. I noticed on the menu, they had CakeBread from Napa Valley. Been dying to try it since I am told it's great...but at $75 a bottle there, we settled on the $16 House...and honestly, it was fine. The party was ok that I took some authority on dishes to order...as most of them had not dined on Korean before, (I know, rite?)...so ordered up some apps to get people started. Green Beans Tempura, Gyoza (Japanese version of Yaki Mandu) and vegetarian Pajeon. Everyone seemed to enjoy these...and the sauces they came with. I wish I could say that all my choices were as decisive as the Bruins Sweep of the normally, High Octane Penguins last night...but not quite. Yeah B's! Jap Chae - So my mother makes a really good Jap Chae...and based on that bias alone, I am always disappointed with others I've tried. It's basically these brown, somewhat translucent noodles, stir fried with bulgogi and vegetables. This wasn't a hit with the crew...nor a hit with me. Shot off the post... Spanish Mackerel - Was expecting a giant fish on a plate that would be perfectly grilled with some kosher sea salt all over it. Instead, was some sort of soy sauce brown piece of fillet that was well overcooked. Bummer. Kimchi and Side Dishes: Cabbage Kimchi (kaktugi), Cucumber Kimchi (boribap), Sesame Broccoli, Mung Sprouts (in soy sauce) and a sample of potato salad. The Kimchi's were decent...I didn't try the potato salad. Most everyone liked everything on those plates. My friend Lisa particularly loved the kaktugi. And when I say loved I mean hated. Loathed. Disdained. Ralphed over. Cursed it. Cursed at it. Hey, I get it...some kimchee is an acquired taste. For those in the know, tho, it was fine. :) BiBimBap - The menu shows this as two words...BiBim Bap. Korean restaurant...lol, as if. A staple of Korean food fans everywhere, Bibimbap, roughly translates to mixed rice. You basically mix up the bowl of rice, veggies, bulgogi, the fried egg and Korean Chili Paste up in the bowl and feed your face. I went light with the hot sauce and everyone gobbled up their share. Kalbi - Cooked on the table grill, these are basically beef short ribs in a soy sauce type marinade. No bones here, which is a bit unusual, but easier on the diner. These were very good and a big hit. Bulgogi - Basically, Korean Beef Teriyaki. Yeah, Kim Jong-Un would probably fire a missile at my face for saying that, but just trying to give you some reference. This was very good as well. Now...I did what any good Half Korean Friend would do to their naive virgin friends and told them they need to make a Korean Lettuce Wrap out of the ingredients at the table. If you don't know what I'm talking 'bout, check yourself into this link: aeriskitchen.com/2012/01… Now...the key here is to tell your friends they not only need to make it, but they need to jam it in ONE bite...cover their mouth with their napkin...and enjoy the bliss. I put in another piece of criteria that the entire restaurant would be offended if they could not do it in ONE bite. Well...4 of 5 people were up to the challenge, but only 2 took it down like a champ...for these Korean Dining virgins...well done is all I have to say. A few of us enjoyed a shot of Limoncello: ( en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Li… )...which wasn't nearly as good as what we imbibed upon in Sorrento, Italy just a couple of weeks back...but hey, considering it's somewhat difficult to find here, it was a welcome warming down the ol' pipes. My one friend Tracee is not new to Korean Dining...and enjoyed her experience at Sapporo. Thank you to my friends Dan, Pat, Keith and Lisa...the newest fans of Korean Dining! Now to work on some of my other round-eye, er uh, friends...crap, did I type that outloud? ;p

*first phone review so bear with me* so I'm sitting here having there awesome lunch buffet and it's so good I want to stay for Dinner! like previous folks have said all the choices are fresh and DO NOT have that "I've just been stirred 4 or 6 times" look. what I would like to stress is the atmosphere; this place is half full not including the bar and the noise level is minimal. I am so content sitting here enjoying me meal without "stuffy background noise." this is a great place to bring a lunch date or group and I can't wait to come back! tip: if your a tea lover order some tea it comes in a authentic looking pot and is full leaf not a bag.

I visited Westborough during Hurricane Sandy after I had to evacuate NYC. Pretty good find! Went for a lunch buffet, the food was pretty good, esp the chili chicken, spinach, tofu, and garlic noodles. Service was decent, and it was not too crowded for a Friday afternoon.

One of our absolute favorite places in Central, MA. We go there at least once a month (probably more like 2-3 times a month, but who's counting!?). The wait staff is absolutely stellar and the food is amazing. Most importantly, the service and food are consistently excellent (hence the 5 stars). I'm no expert in Korean food, but I've eaten plenty of it, so here's some of the things we've ordered and loved: - Pork Bulgogi - amazing, great quality meat, excellent flavors. We'd get it more often, but it's a bit more pricey, so it's more of a treat :) - Dolsot Bibim Bap - a rice dish in a hot pot, which had plenty of vegetables and meat. Adding the "red sauce" just brings out all the flavors. There is a raw egg on the side, but the whole point is to put the egg along the side of the pot, so that it cooks. So don't get turned away from the dish by that! Also makes great left overs. We get this dish at least once every 2 visits! - Yuk Gae Jang - a spice soup with pork and noodles - also amazing flavors and spices and the other dish we get very often. - Yaki Soba - soba noodles with sauteed veggies and meats - we used to go to Wagamama in Boston for dishes like this, but the Yaki Soba at Sapporo is great. I'd get it more often, but it's so hard to stay away from the bibim bap! SUSHI! Their sushi is excellent. We've tried a bunch here (and elsewhere) and every one of them have been tasty, fresh, and often with creative combinations. Our favorite is the Tiger Eye (tuna, salmon, white fish, and asparagus). In addition to being DELICIOUS, they have an appetizer sized portion, so we do that a lot as well. (sushi menu is here: sapporobbq.com/menus/Sus… ) For more accurate descriptions of the dishes, check out their actual menu: sapporobbq.com/menus/Din… P.S. They also have gluten free dishes, which has been helpful for my friends who eat gluten-free foods! And what looks like a great bar complete with flat screen TVs. Their lunch buffet (only made it there once) was also AMAZING and allowed us to try some of the things we weren't as adventurous to order off the menu for dinner! Now I think we're going to need to head there for dinner :-D

We come in every so often to eat at Sapporo; it's not super authentic but it's still some good Korean food if you know what you're looking for. Unfortunately, I've noticed that the service has been on the decline lately, and last night showed no promise for improvement. We ordered some food to-go but discovered that they had forgot the sauce for our tangsuyuk(inedible without sauce). We also noticed that the tonkatsu we ordered was missing the salad that normally accompanies it. By then we were already home, hungry, and disappointed. We called back to explain our situation to the hostess(we think), but all she could do was apologize, pause with awkward silence, and tell us that the tonkatsu doesn't come with a salad when togo(same price dine-in/togo, no salad?). Clearly inexperienced, we called back to speak with a reluctant manager whom ultimately ended up comping our meal after telling them that we'd bring back the food for a refund. I work in restaurants and have a level of empathy for fellow workers of the industry. But at the same time, I can't ignore being at the receiving end for such ignorant and irresponsible service. I don't want my meals to be free, I just want what I ordered. If an issue should arise, I'd expect a manager to smooth it out instead of comping the meal in an attempt escape the issue. I really hope they bring it back to where it was; it's a long drive from Southborough to Allston just for take out....

We love Korean food! Their food is very good here too! Funny, Westborough, MA seems to be the place to go for Korean. However, the recommendation I'm writing to share is for their SUSHI! We have come to consider Sapporo the best around. As I write, I keep thinking of their specialty offering called "citrus blast"! It is remarkably good. I can't remember what that other delicious one with the asparagus in it is called... I just know I'm getting hungry thinking of it! Yes, we've been customers since they first opened and they've grown and chosen well with updates and changes through the years.

The Korean food there is okay. Growing up in Los Angeles, I was spoiled with really good Korean food in Koreatown, so I was so excited to try some Korean food in this area, but it was a bit unimpressive and mediocre at best. I was there in December, thinking I should give it a second try and tried a sushi roll. The sushi roll was so awful that I took one bite and could not eat the rest. I am not sure what kind of fish was in the roll, it sure tasted bad and was not what I ordered. My friend tried a piece and thought it was awful as well. Also, when I got to the restaurant, I ran into someone who was good friends with a friend of mine, and he told the bartender that he would buy my friend and me a holiday drink. He paid the bill thinking that he had been charged for our drinks and then left. But we were still charged for the drinks even though he told them he would be buying us drinks. Maybe the bartenders were sleeping that evening.

Very pleased with our take out choices. The sushi was very good. Veggie tempura and shrimp tempura both were good. Spring rolls ok. Noodles with chicken very good. We never finish take out Chinese ... It was all gone when we finished this meal. No leftovers stuffed in the fridge for a week! Overall a thumbs up.

Wow, Yelp actually summed it up for me as soon as I clicked for two stars: "Meh. I've experienced better." Service is fine, but the food was just okay and a little bland. Not really authentic, but what can you expect from a Korean restaurant named Sapporo? However! I am curious about the pork belly after reading the rest of the reviews, so I might come back...

I hate to take stars away, especially from one of my absolute favorite places to eat, but my fellow yelpers deserve the truth. The last three times I've been to Sapporo I've had downright lousy service. I don't know if they've hired some new people but whatever's going on over there, it's not pretty. I used to think the service was a 5 but its dropped to a 3 or maybe even a 2. I'm still giving them a 4 because their food is still phenomenal.

I am feeling a bit ambivalent in writing a review of this restaurant. The kalbi that they serve in which you grill over the table was decent. A bit thick but very tender. If our dining experience started and ended there it would have gone down in the record books as being a pretty decent place. As far as Westborough goes, there is not many other places you can get Korean BBQ (nor any as far as I know). And I am bit confused of naming a Korean restaurant Sapporo - isn't that in Japan? I guess it's like the Los Angeles Angels of Anaheim, who are nowhere near LA. Unfortunately, we ordered toro sushi and what we got was regular maguro tuna. For those of you who have been able to have toro, you know there is a huge difference in the appearance. I brought this to the attention of my waiter and his immediate reply was that it was toro. I asked him again - Are you sure? He said yes. At that point I told him to take it back to the sushi chef and ask him. He then came back and stated that the chef verified it was not toro, they were out that night and apologized. As consolation, they would not charge me for the tuna. Since I had put in an order for 10 pieces, this was pretty generous. Then I tasted the sushi. Disgusting is an understatement. It was spongy and fishy. Spongy texture results from re-freezing the tuna after it has already been thawed out. Originally the tuna is flash frozen on the fishing boat so it remains fresh. This is perfectly ok, but you can only thaw it out once. When you try and re-freeze it, the result is larger ice crystals forming causing bigger voids in between the muscle tissue trapping more water on the subsequent thaw. This traps more fishiness, from the decomposition of the tissue and promotes bacterial growth. We ended leaving the the other pieces untouched. Then when the bill came, I discovered that the sushi was added on when we were told that it would be free. Of course, it was corrected. But, I am a bit appalled that they would handle fish in such a way as to risk the health of their customers. And it is a bit insulting that they tried to pass off regular tuna as toro. I know the chef saw the order because I was the one who filled out the paper - it was the only sushi on there. He actually thought that I wouldn't know the difference and was going to charge me twice the price. SHADINESS! As long as you stay away from the sushi you should be fine.

It's not BYOB... but it's not well stocked. I wanted sake, and they only had 3 choices in stock with a list of more than 10 - Hot sake, Cold Sparkling Rabbit, or Dai Ginjo. I wasn't really looking for super duper sake since I don't make six figures, but I really didn't have a choice but to order the $35 bottle of Dai Ginjo. Don't get me wrong, it was a flavorful and smooth sake. I love good sake; but I really shouldn't splurge on that in the time of recession. The BBQ was 2 at best. The meat was just not flavorful and not so tender. The lettuce was starting to get ratty; but still edible. They need more quality control on that. The egg custard was full of air pockets and a bit too salty. I give them credit for a wide variety of sides and a choice of 2 teas.

Been meaning to check this place out for some time now but only ended up going for drinks. The place was pretty good for drinks, very casual atmosphere and tons of people having drinks at 3 in the afternoon made it quite a fun place to meet up with friends to catch up. As the name would suggest, they also carried Sapporo in the large can which you surprisingly cannot find very often. Folks I went with felt like the mai tais came out of a carton of juice so wouldnt recommend that. Seems like they have a decent vegetarian menu so I'll be going back to try it again!

So this is my second time here.. Hubby and i had to bring our little guy to try it.. He is a big fan of sushi and asian cuisine. Again, food was really good.. I really enjoy the variety of the buffet. Dumplings and sweet potato tempura, the fried rice is really good, beef, pork, chicken, tofu, noodles and more.. The sushi has about 5 different kinds.. all tasty but our fav is the big one with the crunch around it.. Yum... Fruit is for dessert...So sad there isn't anything else.. But that's ok..Soup is also included with the buffet.. I like the miso soup..it's light and refreshing.. Did not like the hot and sour soup..too sour and vinegary for me..

Sapporo Korean BBQ is prob my favorite korean restaurant in central MA. There aren't a lot to choose from but this review is for both the service and food. First of all, i am Korean and i grew up eating this my whole life. So i wouldn't lie or stretch the truth about this place. Let's talk about the service, ok not the best but what do you expect when you go on a busy night, it's like this at every packed restaurant. Give them a break, they are constantly on their feet servicing to various customers. My family goes here all the time, so they kinda know us. I know, favoritism but hey why go somewhere else when, first they know us on a first name basis, second the service is on point, and third the korean food is delicious. The sushi here isn't all that great, that's why i didn't factor in my score. This review, like i said is solely based on my service experiences and the Korean food. My favorite dish is the dolsot bibimbap, the side dishes are average, some are good some are just bland. I do like the kimchee jjigae and the kalbi is delicious. My family always gets the seafood hot pot dish, forgot what's it called but it feeds for 4 people. The owners are very nice, got to talk to one of them Jae Kim, he's a great guy and he's always making sure that we the customers are always taking care of. I recommend everyone looking for good Korean food, just make sure you come here when it's not busy, cuz i don't want to hear it, i told you so!

Best Korean in metro west. The bi bin bap is great as are their sweet and sour pork, spicy pork and seafood panchon (appetizer). The service has been improving dramatically over the past year as well. I highly recommend this place and have eaten here countless times.

I'm a fan of Korean food and decided to look up a restaurant in the Metrowest area. I came accross Sapporo on Yelp (with its good reviews). Our go-to place for Korean food is the Korean BBQ in Burlington but it is a bit of a drive for us. We decided to give Sapporo a try. We went there on a Saturday night and the place was packed. Luckily we made reservations so we got seated immediately. It's a nice restaurant tucked in a corner of a shopping plaza (so parking is not a problem). Service was good (the waiter was very nice) and the hostess was equally nice. Food was ok but it didn't taste "authentic Korean" (more like Korean fusion). We didn't get to eat at the bbq grill table so not sure if that made a difference in the taste of the food that we ordered (Beef Bulgogi). We also ordered Chicken katsu, chap jae, and the hot spicy wings. The food was just ok. I really did not see any Asian/Korean (except for us and one other family) when we were there so I kind of figured the food is more for the American palate.

We've been to this restaurant several times and the food quality has been consistently good. This particular visit--a birthday celebration--was not as enjoyable due to an unfortunate service issue. All our food--soup, sushi, and very quickly our entrees--were brought at essentially the same time, leaving no room on the table and the feeling of being rushed. The server hovered, contributing to our sense that she was anxious to turn the table. The chef had prepared a special-diet dessert for the birthday celebrant, but she forgot all about it. By that time the infant in the party was losing patience and we took the dessert to go. The efforts of the manager and the chef were much appreciated. I ordered chicken bulgogi and found it very heavy on baby corn and onions, with few other veggies. Usually there is more broccoli and mushrooms. This visit may have been a one-off event, as other visits have been great.

Dark, dingy. Attracts quite a crowd looking for fast eats But I found it greasy. Sushi looked good. I'm sure that with some clean up and make over (to include lightening the grease on the food too....) it would be spectacular. But the food is just ok, and the joint is in dire need of a sprucing and cleaning.

Great food. Poor service lately. Put in a sushi pick up order and was told it would be ready in 15 mins. Showed up and over an hour later we had our food... So they gave us two junk salads "for our troubles". Awful.

Had a very enjoyable lunch here as we were driving south from Maine to Virginia. The menu was interesting, so we ordered a lot of things to taste (way too much food!) and enjoyed everything. The complimentary plate of pickles/kimchi/etc. was delicious and fun to sample. We loved the dumplings, bulgoki and bibimbap, too!

This place is FANTASTIC!!! I am not usually a fan of Korean BBQ but they rock! My entree came with several (maybe half dozen) Korean appetizers that were really good. Also, save room for dessert, they have some great options. One dinner was enough to fill up on and have about half to take home. I will definately be back; this is one of my favorite finds since moving to Westborough.

We live locally and had passed this place many times without eating there, noticing how packed the parking lot is around it. We decided to try out the Korean BBQ, and are glad we did. Food was very good, especially the unlimited side dishes. We had the pork and the short rib, both very tasty. We'll be going back and are also adding this to our take-out rotation.

I went for a lunch buffet today, it was impromptu. Have been in this area for a while and wanted to try it out. The buffet spread was good, w.r.t variety, but the quality of the food was average. Sushi was ok, but the kimchi, spicy chicken strips and few other spicy dishes tasted only of a red spice with a hint of soy sauce! Fried rice was not good either. Service was prompt, ambiance good, but food quality was ok and for a few dishes below average. For the price of 10.99$ choices were definitely a lot. I don't think I will visit again though.

Love this place. Delicious, fresh sushi. Tasty Korean BBQ dishes. I actually prefer Korean BBQ dishes to normal Chinese food now. Much more flavors and not as greasy. They have recently remodeled the inside and it looks great. 100x better. Looks very modern and 'expensive' now. Prices have only climbed slightly. But the taste and quality has changed dramatically...for the better! ( not that it was ever bad! ) Try it!

This place is the bomb! Lunch is definitely a good value but I love coming here for dinner and drinks! The Avocado ball with tuna & tortilla chips is a great appetizer! Great way to start your meal! And did I mention the portion size is very generous? We have ordered other maki as well, and they are all very fresh and made of good quality sashimi. There are also a lot of good home made Korean entrees as well, like Beef Bulgogi, Je Yuk Bokkum, Spicy Octopus Stir-Fry, Oxtail Soup, and homemade dumplings. Food here definitely made you feel like you were eating in Korea. On the weekend, this place is usually packed at night! But that is true for every restaurant that is good anyways. But here 's the tip, while you are waiting for your table, make sure you go to the bar, and order a house special Mai Tai. It is so delicious and you wont regret it!

Yum! Interesting mix of Korean and Japanese and I love it! Went here for lunch and they had a great list of different bento boxes, sushi and even a buffet! The buffet looked good with a lot to choose from and was around $10. My friend and I got the Naruto "sushi" roll (actually rolled with crisp cucumber) and it was delicious! We also got a bento box each. 1 sushi bento and one Korean bulgogi box. They both came with rice, salad, Cali roll, veggie tempura, salad, gyoza, and noodles. The bulgogi was a little dry but they flavor was great and everything seemed reasonably priced. Can't wait to come back for some Korean BBQ!

Wow, just came back from here. Had the lunch buffet. Super good. They also had a choice of soup w/ your buffet and I chose the Hot and Sour which was AWESOME, although it had a surprise of tofu in it, it really was awesome. Thought the service was a tad bit slow, but otherwise the food was definitely worth 5 stars!

Good Korean Bbq. The sushi is pretty good and fresh, but the Korean dishes are very tasty. With the tables to grill your own, they have a great selection of Korean dishes such as Bulgogi and Bibambop. A little pricey but not a bad value. They had a Sunday afternoon/ evening buffet for a while that was great but last time in it was a la carte again.

This was a surprise, a really good surprise here's the deal. very fresh, very creative sushi. keep in mind i am a sushi snob. this was well done. try the volcano. great flavors and creative. they have the boring standby stuff if you really are that boring. but if you like to rock sushi get bold and go with the stuff featured on the front pages. killer, period. service was ok, not bad.

Highly recommend it.

I went with a friend for the awesome $10 lunch buffet. At $3.33 a plate (my friend made it stretch a little more to $2.50 a plate... haha), there aren't a lot of better deals. 3 different types of sushi, tempura shrimp and sweet potatoes, both fried and white rice... then there was all the other hot food. The bulgogi was perfect- sweet, tender, juicy, I had pile of it on all 3 plates. The dumplings were also really good. For dessert instead of the typical jello and boxed cookie selection that other places offer, they had large, fresh cuts of pineapple (yum!), honeydew and cantaloupe. It was great that all the dishes had very different, distinct flavors unlike other buffets were some things are nearly interchangeable. Starting at 11:30, we got there shortly thereafter. The place fills up quick, nice interior, easy to get to location, friendly and attentive service. While the dinner prices look a bit on the high side for me to come here, if I am ever passing by on a T-F from 11:30-2:30, I will definitely be stopping for lunch.

This is a great place! The menu covers a lot of Japanese, and Korean dishes! I went on the later afternoon of the weekend and got to sit right near the sushi bar. The place is in good condition and the atmosphere is great! There is a (alcohol) bar and a sushi bar in the place. It looks like there is a buffet sometimes (though it wasn't set up when I was there). The sushi I had was amazing!!! Reasonably priced too!

Ordered bibimbap $11 (dinner menu). Decent, large portion, but not enough meat. (even when I'm not a big eater) My friends been here a couple of times, and they say this is a better Korean restaurant around the area. I believe the pancake is good as well . They do not have much selection for their tofu soup. It only comes with seafood.

My girlfriend and I ate lunch here with only one other table present. We ordered the Sushi box (very good) and a Kalbi box (rib meat was very tough). Appetizers were miso soups for both of us (these were delicious). I also ordered an Unagi roll. This roll was delivered to our table not two minutes after I ordered it and seemed to be made without care. Past all the minor things, I really enjoyed the atmosphere and the service was decent. I do plan on going back soon. Bill total= $31

I went here becuase I thought they might have that delicious chicken terriyaki dish I used to get at the Worcester mall but they didn't. They did however have some decent sushi, a moderate amount of customers for lunch, and their terriyaki was just OK. I prefer Mikaku of Northborough's homemade terriyaki sauce they use with their chicken and Mikaku's sushi is by far the best we have tried in the area. Sapporo is Ok if you are in the area. They have enough customers to keep the food fairly fresh and I didn't get sick after eating their sushi, which is always a plus.

This is one of my favorite places to eat. While not cheap, it's still a good value as their food and service are both consistently excellent, and their portions are on the generous side; especially for their gourmet sushi rolls. I tried their lunch buffet once (because I was in the area at lunch time) and I must say that for $11, the value was unreal and the food was wonderful. FOOD: The Korean food is the best I've had anywhere. The sushi is really good too. My favorite roll is the Orange Crunch, which combines two of my favorite sushi ingredients: shrimp tempura topped with raw salmon. My Korean favorite here is the Be Bim Bop. SERVICE: I typically eat here early (like around 5PM) with my family. The place is very kid friendly; the wait staff are always nice to our daughter, and to the other kids we see when we dine here. They are always attentive and respond to every request graciously. Although the place is usually almost empty when we eat here, I've been to plenty of other places when they were empty, and that doesn't always guarntee good service! CONSISTENCY: I have eaten here many times over the past 3 years and have never been disappointed.

My boyfriend and I love sushi...and we absolutely love Sapporo. This is the BEST restaurant in Westborough to get sushi. I agree with others, it's not cheap, but you won't find another Japanese restaurant in Westborough presenting this quality sushi. Also, now that they've renovated the place, they've revamped their entire sushi menu; added additional rolls to the menu, are more creative with the presentation, and the size of the rolls make it worth the money. We occasionally order out regular dinner options, but we prefer the sushi. Also, one thing I really like about Sapporo is that they still put a lot of effort into making good quality sushi for takeout. A lot of the time, my boyfriend and I crave sushi but prefer to be eating it in our living room watching a movie - Sapporo is great for that! The rolls are still fresh and we can expect to pick up our takeout within 20 minutes of placing an order. Our Favorite Rolls: -Volcano -Orange Crunch -Crispy Philly (If you love philly rolls and tempura...try this! The philly roll is dipped in tempura, and warms up the roll enough to melt the cream cheese a bit on the inside. Sure, not the healthiest roll, but sometimes it has to be purchased...) -Boston Maki (This really cools down your mouth after a spicy roll) -Spicy Tuna -Spicy Salmon I can't wait to try their fiesta roll and the torched tuna roll Also, be sure to check out their specials...sometimes I that have awesome sushi specials with lobster.

Service is slow. Prices are kinda steep. Food's okay. The green tea ice cream is a mint ice-cream color with green tea leaf pieces in it. The tangsooyuk is dry - you probably can find better elsewhere. Dwaenjang Jiggae is pretty good - has jalapeno pepper in it. Good for groups! Perhaps it's better to eat here for lunch? I came for dinner.

I work in the area and my co workers and I come here frequently for lunch. Their buffet is reasonably priced and the food really good. If you're not in the mood for a buffet, their bento boxes are really good too.

I really enjoyed the food and the atmosphere. The service was awful though! Our waiter hardly ever came by our table and when something was wrong, i had to ask the hostess for a change. My boyfriend's food came out...without mine. It took 5-10 min more to have mine come out. Not very organized!! The party next to us was pretty loud and our waiter went over to them a lot more than us. The food, however, was delicious! Thatd be the only reason to come back. I had the tuna and my boyfriend tried a korean dish. The korean side dishes were just so-so. He said his was delicous as well. When we go back, we'll try the Korean BBQ for sure. I just hope we get a different waiter.

my family goes here all of the time. It's just simply excellent korean food and very fresh sushi. I recommend the paejun "pancake" appetizer and the bibimbop is very tasty too. It does get busy so if you have a large group or family, early is best for dinner. I agree with others that the lunch buffet is a great deal and the selection is pretty good as well. I have found the waitstaff to be very friendly (especially kid friendly) and I've never had problems in the many, many times I've been there.

Big fan of the food here. Love the Korean BBQ, I also like that they have sushi, that way it can accommodate everyone's taste if you come with a big group. I have to say the sushi here is awesome! this is a must try.

Went there last night, Friday night. The restaurant was crammed. Waited about 25 minutes and got a pretty decent seat for 4 just for the 2 of us. Sushi menu selection was good - with some good choices for those who do not like having cucumber or avacado in every roll. Overall impression - FOOD - even though it is pricey, the freshness of food deserved the extra we spent. However when you pay more, you do not just expect that food will be good, but the wait staff and the overall experience should go along with it. AMBIANCE - not great really, unless you like that by the time you leave this place EVERYTHING you wear, including your hair smells like their kitchen! It STINKS in there! Really poor ventilation (we sat in the middle of the floor). "NOTHINK SPECIAL" experience. Not a place to hang out at for a comfy, romantic experience. Just a loud and smelly experience. No extra thought about patrons' comfort level. And the waiter did not understand a word in English. Next time will call in a take-out!

HOLY WTFKBBQ! Korean BBQ in Massachusetts? Hey wait a minute, why is it called Sapporo? So here's the back story. I was visiting Boston, and my old college friends wanted to plan a big get together. My friend said he recently discovered this "unique cuisine called Korean Barbecue." At this point you can just imagine I was rolling on the floor laughing my ass off. So fast forward a week, and I'm in the Boston area. I had directions to the place but didn't yet know the name of the restaurant. We pull in, look at the sign, and look at each other speechless: Sapporo: Korean Barbecue and Sushi What kind of crazu twilight zone are we in??? Anyhow, we decided to peel off the snobbery and put the experience into context...we were in central Massachusetts, not Koreatown. The restaurant lies in a strip mall (which is OK by our LA standards). The interior is as warm as a rectangular space with high ceilings could be. While waiting for a table, patrons are treated to a free geography lesson. There was a white board prominently displayed on an easel stand, displaying a map of the general area of China, Korea, and Japan drawn in a sophomoric manner with dry erase markers: CLASSIC! The staff were extremely courteous. We had a very large group of 14 people, and were seated in a private area toward the back of the restaurant. The tables featured gas powered burners, but lacked the loud fume hoods. I was curious where all the smoke went--I guess the high ceilings with powerful H-VAC systems came in handy here. Sapporo is also BYOB friendly. I knew this before I left LA so I was sure to pick up several bottles of Soju for the occasion. It was funny to watch the eyes of the wait staff widen when they saw the Soju on the table. I think I earned major points with them for that. My friends had a blast shooting this mystery beverage they'd never seen before. The menu was far more Japanese than it was Korean. There was a full sushi bar, and an array of Japanese items. The staff appeared to be a mix of different Asian ethnicity, but our waitstaff were Korean. We were all served miso soup upon sitting down. If that wasn't bad enough, all my friends broke out the spoons to eat it. I started getting visibly upset. I got lots of odd looks when I drank from my bowl. (and the fact is I didn't behave...I schooled everyone on the proper way to eat miso) And the soup wasn't half bad, actually. Next came the panchan. I was not surprised that they didn't have spicy raw crab. The kimchi was decent...but was not prepared with raw oysters. Fish cake, bean sprouts, potato, seaweed, and tofu were among the other dishes. I was quite amused when the waiter explained what each item was. Anyhow, most of my party ordered horribly unauthentic items. I stuck to my guns and ordered the Kalbi and the Pork Belly. At $20 each they were a bit steep in price, and weren't terribly huge portions. I'd rate the Kalbi as slightly below average in flavor and texture, but the Pork Belly was absolutely spectacular. We raved about it to the staff. It was by far the best pork belly I've ever had. I was a bit disappointed that they had crossed the Naengmyeon off the menu, as that always hits the spot at the end. I thought it was cool though that the manager brought us a large plate of spicy tuna roll on the house, probably due to our exorbitant bill and enthusiasm toward the cuisine.

Ordered takeout for my wife's birthday. When I arrived to pick it up, they had no record of my order, and said it'd be at least half an hour before they could make the food. Offered neither an apology nor a discount. Will not be returning, ever!

After reading a lot of positive reviews and checking out the menu, I figured to give this place a try since it is the only Korean bbq restaurant by me. I had one of the spicy fish stews and my friend ordered the futo maki. Both were very satisfying. The stew was definitely very spicy but very good. It came with several korean side dishes such as kimchi, seaweed, pickled zuccini, broccoli, potato salad, some tofu, and bean sprouts. We also had some hot sake with out meal with was also very good. We were a little disappointed that they were out of the dessert. The waiter felt bad and gave us ginger ice cream on him. I will definitely come back again as I'm eager to try a lot of the other items on the menu as well as the korean bbq. I will definitely recommend this place to other people.

The best Sushi and Korean BBQ in the area! It's really hard to have good sushi and BBQ but Sapporo in Westborough pulls it off. I eat here every time i visit MA. The food is comparable to NY/NJ restaurants! *MUST TRY* - Anything on the sushi menu (!) - Galbi (BBQ) - Pajeon (Seafood) - Sapporo Draught beer Sushi: - Fresh fish = Delicious - Wide variety traditional and specialty rolls - Beautiful plating - Modest pricing Korean: - Delicious Korean BBQ at modest prices. - Tasty traditional dishes (Authentic Korean and Japanese) Bar: - Draught (!) and domestic/import bottle beer. - Wide selection of good wines and Sake - Full bar with specialty drinks available Service: - Friendly staff - Fast food service I can't find a darn thing wrong with this place.. I love it!

What a nice surprise! We went to Sapporo for the first time tonight, and it was very very good. Don't let the strip mall location throw you off. It is actually very nice inside. Good wine/beer selections. I liked the Belgain white on draft. Our entrees were very good. Fresh ingredients, veggies not overcooked, etc. The entrees come with several side dishes so our appetizer was overkill. We both brought home half of our entrees--just too much for us. The only disapointment was the appetizer. It was tuna tataki and it wasn't seared as nicely as I have had in other places. We plan to go back again to try the sushi, which seemed a popular ordre at several tables near us.

I have only had the lunch buffet but as far as buffets go... It tops my list. I'm half Korean so I usually am very critical of Korean food but this was great and my mom loves it too.

I've eaten at Sapporo a few times in the last month, and am very impressed with the food and atmosphere. I had the lunch buffet which is top notch and reasonably priced. It's quality food, which you don't normally get from a buffet, and the variety is wide. I also had a great noodle dish for dinner, washed down with their famous Mai-Tais. It was sizzling hot and very tasty. Overall, a very good spot for sushi and Korean bbq.

A Sad Experience. Being a diehard fan of Asian cuisine and having frequented many downtown Boston restaurants, I went into Sapporo for the first time with an open heart and high expectations. I was hopeful when a professional and respectful host led us to large solid marble tables with closed grill embedded in the middle. I was hopeful when we looked at the nicely written-out menu, with prices that matched and went beyond those in downtown Boston (high prices equal high quality, I rationalize hopefully). All of that came crashing to the ground as the waiter (most likely in training, or most likely on his way to being fired) asked for our drinks. "Water and tea, please" someone offers, ordering for the table as we have done so many times at other restaurants in the past. The waiter stands there for a confused minute and suddenly leaves for the kitchen. I was aghast when he comes back with one glass of water and one glass of tea, and places them both in front of the person who had ordered for us, and darts away again. I choose to maintain my forgiveness and serenity stance, but it wears thin after we order 30 minutes later, and do not see a glimpse of the first appetizer after an hour passes since we've sat down. The scallion pancakes are delicious, I have to admit! I also realize in the awkward silences that follow that there is no background music. What may have improved the mood was pointedly missing. I was also very sorry to have ordered an $18.95 grilled scallop dish (which ends up amounting to 8 /baby/ scallops with a scattering of onions that comes in a small pile no larger than a fist). The waiter insists that he cook it for us and proceeds to dump it and walk away with it still on the grill, and we have to rescue it before it becomes a charred waste. It tasted just like I'm implying: overcooked, lacking flavor, and unhappily chewy. The waiter didn't even remember to come back or apologize. That was $20 wasted on incompetency! Perhaps it's forgivable seeing that the restaurant is located in the middle of the suburbs and we had the unfortunate luck to get this particular waiter, but I have to say that I was not impressed with the overall sparse decor, service, or food at Sapporo. I would stay away and try the more comfortable Mandarin Westboro in the plaza across the street.

My experience there wasn't nearly as bad as Lady F's. I've been there a few times for lunch. The sushi is pretty good quality, the bi bim bab was pretty tasty. They can be kind of slow, but they usually give little appetizer offerings to placate you, which is nice. The service is also pretty nice, and when we asked for waters, everyone at the table got one. :) It's a little on the pricey side, but what do you expect for Japanese/Korean in Westborough? Have not tried the korean BBQ, although they're set up for it. The place is nice, clean, and usually I'm yapping so much I don't mind there's no music. One of the better places to go in the area, I've found...

Korean BBQ and sushi comes to Westborough as Sapporo. Located on route 30 in a strip mall this is the second Korean place to open in the last year. We started with some sushi; White Tuna and Hamachi sashimi and a Spicy Tuna Maki. The fish was very fresh and well sliced. The tuna in the maki was chopped tartare style which some people don't like, but I thought it was great. Although we did not sit at sushi bar it looks beautiful. I saw many elegantly prepared platters going out, and they have all the usual suspects on the menu. Our middle son had his favorite Chicken Katsu, it comes with a salad and miso soup. I tried a piece and it was crisp and not overcooked. The oldest had Salmon Teriyaki which also came with miso soup. The fish was cooked just right and served with the skin (which he didn't want so I ate it). My wife and I had the Korean BBQ, we had the Kalbi (beef short ribs, boneless) and the Pork Bul Go Ki (marinated tenderloin). The give a variety of sides including kimchi etc. The kimchi was better than most stored bought I have tried and made the sinus tingle. The Kalbi was quite good the Pork Bul Go Ki was just ok. My wife also had a Soon Doo Boo stew(bean curd and seafood) which was tasty but too large to finish with everything else. You might want to keep that in mind if you order any of the hearty stews/soups for dinner. They are entree size. Pros: Clean modern decor. Attentive knowledgeable staff. Decent portions. Wide screen TVs (we watched the Sox beat-up the Yankees). They do not have a liquor license yet so got to brown bag our wine with no corkage fee. Cons: Waiter insisted on 'cooking' for us. This is not Teppanyaki, it was awkward having him hang around and cook everything before we were ready. I like to cook some eat some then cook some more lest the meat gets cold. I will insist on cooking my own BBQ next time. It is very pricey, although the food was as good or better than Korean BBQ's I have been to in Boston, NYC and SF.

I have dined here on several occasions with family and friends, never disappointed! The sushi chefs and servers are extremely friendly and helpful. The sushi and Korean dishes are fresh and very tasty. The restaurant has a very relaxing atmosphere and is extremely clean. I highly recommend this restaurant!

We have been to Sapporo many times and had a great experience every time. The food is always awesome and the service is top notch. Our favorite dish is the Dot Sot, which is essentially Bi Bim Bap in a hot stone pot. It makes the rice nice and crispy at the bottom! The assortment of Korean side dishes are so tasty as well. If you are in the mood for a cocktail, don't miss the strawberry basil mojito. It's tasty enough to convert someone who doesn't usually like cocktails. Some of our family is vegetarian, and they always have veggie options or will modify existing dishes to fit your needs. We are looking forward to going back often!

I thought this place was great! I wasn't expecting it to be this good, especially since I am not usually a big fan of Korean. Technically, this place is "fusion" though. So, I decided to get a dish that had fresh sushi-style fish cut up in chunks on top of rice... it tasted like a mixture of something Japanese and Korean. The barbecue itself was a big production, I've never had the experience before of having those grills on the table, etc.. I didn't have the barbecue itself though.

Nice and new decoration, easy to find, clean and comfortable chair. I ordered the most popular Korean BBQ beef and my husband ordered Japanese fried pork. Both come with rice and they are very yummy. They also come with eight side dishes (include not-too-hot Kimchi) and taste good. We like it very much, it's better than we thought.

One of my favorite sushi restaurants!!! I've never tried the BBQ, but heard it is delicious as well. I go here at least 2 times a month and am always satisfied. The prices are a little high, but I feel like that is to be expected with sushi. Great dragon roll and spicy crunchy tuna!!! YUMMM! I'm craving it now!

Wow, some strong opinions here both ways. Probably because Korean food is still pretty unknown and a rarity in New England. Comparing with similar Korean places in the Boston suburbs, it was very good. The place looks clean and contemporary and the BBQ tables are pretty cool. The appetizer dishes you get for free were fantastic particularly the KimChi. All in all, a pleasant ethnic surprise for the Westboro environs.

I've only had sushi at one other restaurant, so I am a bit new but I love Sapporo! The sushi is amazing! My husband and I enjoy the spicy tuna maki, hawaiian and crispy phili cali rolls. We are moving and I am honestly a little depressed this won't be right around the corner anymore!

This fairly new Korean restaurant outside Boston area is pretty decent. There are so many Chinese, Thai and Japanese places around the area.... good to see something different. So, I don't have to drive all the way to the city for Korean cuisine. Sushi is pretty good. Lunch boxes are good. Kitchen prepared hot dishes are very good too. Korean BBQ is ok..... the only thing is, they always forget to grease the grill!!! Or, they just don't do the basic! Hello... it sticks and it burns!!! But, the best part, they don't have a liquor license yet! So, bring your own wine or beer, they don't even charge a penny to provide you glasses!

I've been to Sapporo several times over the past year for dinner on a weekend (Fri or Sat) during 'peak' hours. Always get the korean BBQ dishes, either Kalbi or Bulgogi, which are cooked in front of you on the table grill if you have two or more orders, or in the kitchen if just a single order. The beef is excellent - seared, caramelized and delicious, with mushrooms and onions as well. Good selection of sides, kimchi, baby spinach, fish cake, broccoli, but it seems to change up depending on the night. The kimchi was ok, didn't seem to have enough of the seafood flavor in it for my liking, but plenty spicy and sour enough. We've also ordered sushi and it is a solid offering, perhaps a little on the small side, but presented well, flavorful and rich. Finally, on our last visit we had the pajeon (seafood scallion pancake), which had chunks of squid, shrimp and also surprisingly some imitation crabmeat, but matched with generous cuts of mild scallions and a crispy and chewy dough it all came together. Service can be spotty, there are some times they are very attentive, and others you are looking for your waitstaff. They do ask to cook the meat for you and generally it comes out pretty good, but feel free to do it yourself. Decor is decent, and the tables with grills are very large and spacious. It is not a particularly warm cozy environment, but very clean, open, and bright. Prices are decent, and the portion size is good. The Kalbi was almost too much for us to finish the last time, and one time we went, we ordered the Kalbi and Bulgogi from the kitchen, and it seemed like a double portion! The sides are very small however, and some are so good I wish they were larger. Overall a good value.

(4)Walter L.

(3)Melissa H.

(4)Jean J.

(2)Ana N.

(2)Danny B.
(2)Alan C.
I finally found the time to sit down and eat here vs just grabbing take out as I usually do. The service was very good and wait staff are very knowledgeable about the dishes. I ordered the dolsot bibim bap which is a staple menu item for all korean restaurants. The beef was flavored very well.
(4)Jordana P.
The sushi is fresh and a great value! The crab ragoons are a favorite and stuffed with filling. The Mai tais are small but strong and my favorite drink around the boroughs!!
(5)Laura M.
(5)Shefali B.
We went for their lunch buffet and we loved it! Great food and great service. Will definitely go back sometime again.

(4)Rich L.
We went there for the Korean BBQ. The food was was just ok. The tables were very cramped especially for the Korean place w u have a lot of side dishes.
(3)C H.

(4)Mitra S.
This place is great! Korean and Japanese are my favorite Asian cuisines and this place blends them nicely. We had green tea, the volcano, bibimbap, and the sashimi seaweed salad. Everything was a hit! I can't wait to go back and try more things!
(5)P G.
Excellent place to dine! Always happy with this place. Amazing food and atmosphere. Great sushi and delicious drinks. I always feel welcome when I come in. Staff is great and friendly. They always make you feel at home here. One of the best places in the area for authentic great tasting food. A+
(5)Todd T.
The sushi here is very good. Very fresh and well executed. We've eaten here a number of times, both fine-in and take-out, and we have never been let down. This is a great, every day restaurant for sushi. Unfortunately, I have yet to try the Korean BBQ, but it always looks very good.
(4)Jon-matthew B.
I love this place! The server polly was the best sever I've had in a long time. She took it from just dinner to an experience! Thank you polly.
(5)Michael S.
This place has excellent Korean food and the owners are awesome! The barbecue set up right at your table is an experience.

(5)Julia C.
Best spicy tuna roll I've ever had. Everything else is great too, but damn their sushi is good! Service is friendly but can be a little slow.. Definitely worth the wait though. I've been 3 times now and the food is always consistent.
(5)Ashley E.
Great food! Great people. The food was phenomenal. The only thing I'd have to say is it takes a while for the food you order to come. But the service is so friendly. We will definitely be going back!
(4)Tricia B.
(5)Frank C.
This has been my go to place for some time. The food is a great value, especially the sushi. They have some great original creations.
(4)Katherine C.
(5)Kathy S.
(1)Lisa M.
(4)Paul L.
This place is great for all (including families with kids). Sushi is fresh and tasty while the Korean specialties are good too. The Bulgogi is awesome. My kids order that every time.
(4)R ALopo C.
(5)Amanda W.
However I do know that they recently redid a lot of the inside and it looks great!

wonderful food and delicious sushi time and time again

Now to work on some of my other round-eye, er uh, friends...crap, did I type that outloud? ;p

Food good, my compliant? Why, oh why, did they get rid of David (Tiger) Wong? He is the best bartender in the MetroWest! Elvis does not cut it.
(3)Hannah K.
Service was excellent, especially for a Friday night! I tried some of the jumbo rolls and they were delicious! Definitely going here again.
(5)Nicholas B.
(5)Joe B.
Great drinks! Great food! Great service! I wish I could go here more.
(5)Kristina B.
Went to Sapporo's for the first time tonight, and it was phenomenal! Friendly service, great prices, full bar, and the sushi was spectacular. We even ordered an extra spicy tuna roll to go so we could have it as a snack later. We will definitely be going back very soon!
(5)Thomas L.
Sapporo is a good place, nothing special about the sushi or any other food item, it's just simple and good. The drinks are just alright. Very slow service.
(3)Sheena V.

(2)T G.
(5)Leilani F.
(2)Tim W.
(4)Miki T.
(2)Katie W.
(4)Hion L.
(2)Catie C.

Had the day off today and will be at the buffet filling my tummy with lots of yummies! Haha!
(5)Punit S.
(3)Titi T.
(4)Jason K.
(4)G G.
Best Korean in metro west. The bi bin bap is great as are their sweet and sour pork, spicy pork and seafood panchon (appetizer). The service has been improving dramatically over the past year as well. I highly recommend this place and have eaten here countless times.
(5)Helen P.
Most amazing sushi roll - Crispy Cali Phily! Highly recommend.

(2)Sheri S.
(4)Rita V.
(2)Tom D.
You need to try this place. Knocked my socks off.
(5)Carla S.
Great Korean restaurant right in Westborough. Their Sushi was very fresh and the Kalbi Barbecue with all the spicy vegetables just awesome.
(5)Nichole T.
I thought presentation and service was top notch. The Peach martini was phenomenal and the Copacabana roll was well done with its mix of spick and sweet.
(4)Ross P.
Great food. Poor service lately. Put in a sushi pick up order and was told it would be ready in 15 mins. Showed up and over an hour later we had our food... So they gave us two junk salads "for our troubles". Awful.
(2)Gwen G.
(4)Bill W.
(5)T C.
Good sushi.
(4)Kevin M.

Sapporo is one of my favorite sushi restaurants. Their Sapporo Special roll and $11 dollar lunch buffet is what keeps me coming back.
(5)Jessica W.
(5)Nicole L.
Love the lunch buffet, the food is so fresh! The service had always been really good. Dinner is also a treat. I know nothing about authentic Korean but I love the freshness.
(5)Kevin H.
(4)Boston F.
(4)Bipin V.
went here a few times for lunch buffet and is superb value. great variety of food at lunch buffet and also very affordable. lot of good home made Korean entrees as well, like Beef Bulgogi, Je Yuk Bokkum, Spicy Octopus Stir-Fry, Oxtail Soup.tofu, the crispy shrimp, green bean, spicy cucumber salad.

(5)Justin M.
(4)Crystal L.
(3)Fernando V.

(5)Katherine B.
(5)Kathy C.
(2)Peter C.
I work in the area and my co workers and I come here frequently for lunch. Their buffet is reasonably priced and the food really good. If you're not in the mood for a buffet, their bento boxes are really good too.
(4)Erica L.
(3)T G.
my family goes here all of the time.
(5)Tony B.
This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food is delicious and the atmosphere is great. The place was recently remodeled and the bar area is very cool. You get a good amount of food for the money. The sushi is excellent as well. I recommend this place!
(5)Jason R.
Big fan of the food here. Love the Korean BBQ, I also like that they have sushi, that way it can accommodate everyone's taste if you come with a big group. I have to say the sushi here is awesome! this is a must try.
(5)Lana B.

I recently hosted a group dinner @ Sapporo and the staff attended to all our needs. My guests were blown away! I'm planning another event for the upcoming holidays.

(5)Ryan H.

(2)Gabe L.

Crowded on a Saturday night but that is a good thing right? Food great but service very slow. So, if you have time enjoy.
(4)neel J.

(5)Eva B.
(5)Sarah B.
(5)A T.
(4)M H.
(4)Allison L.
(4)R L.
