The food is below average. I had dinner there for the first and last time. They charge to much money for the food you get. This place is over priced. The restaurant is dated and needs to be given a new look with lower prices. If you want to substitute a side, it costs$2.00 For 2 people it costs $ 40.00 way to much for the food you get and the quality of it. Beware they don't take credit cards. I found out that the hard way. They have a small sign, hard to see. I never carry cash and will never go back.

Wow - up here from NJ for baseball tournament. Found Harry's on the way to complex. New England experience. Brings back memories of trips to Martha Vineyard. Great Lobster roll and clam bellies. Fish chowder to start was very good too. Wine be beer available. Lots of other choices as well!

Great little dinner setting! They have great hours open till 11PM most nights and 12AM on Friday and Saturday nights. They serve breakfast all day too. And they also have beer! Cash only - there is an ATM in the restaurant if you forget. A handful or so of booths with a couple small tables and also few bar-stools at the counter. This place is not fancy and probably hasn't been renovated since the 50's - but seriously who cares - good food and staff is all that matters! We came in thinking they mostly served seafood but after receiving the menu were pleasantly surprised with how many different offerings they had - at least 7 full pages. Everything ranging from salads, appetizers, pasta, sandwiches, home-style dinners and seafood. We started with the spicy fried pickles - these were so good. Spicy but a perfect balance with the batter and dipping sauce. I had the key west fried haddock dinner. The fish was cooked perfect and the coleslaw was very good. My lunch companion had the fried clam bellies dinner - which I had to try - the clams were cooked perfect and so tender. They have a ton of homemade pies, desserts, frappes and sundaes. We were too stuffed for any of those but will definitely be back to try more.

I love perfectly prepared fried clams, and I also love restaurants that have been around a while and have their own unique vibe. Harry's has it all! I went to Harry's because I was on a dedicated mission. My son and I wanted fried clams and we were prepared to drive up to 30 minutes from our home in Natick to access them. After crunching the numbers (and Yelp reviews), our analysis concluded that Harry's was our best bet. Inside, Harry's looks the same as it probably did 30 years ago. The atmosphere is warm and inviting, with comfortable booths and seventies style wood paneling. The restaurant is clean and well-kept, and just being there transports you to another time and place. My son and I were laser-focused on the clams mission (cole slaw and fries were mere distractions) and after doing the math I realized we'd be better off splitting a quart of belly clams a la carte than getting two dinner platters. My wife ended up getting a bowl of fish chowder and my other son got the Shepard's pie, and we all split an order of onion rings. Our serving of clams was awe-inspiring, just huge. The waitress split the quart into two servings on a single serving platter. After years of practice, I'm really skilled at overeating, but I honestly wasn't sure if we were going to be able to get through all of them. I was to be proven wrong. Quality-wise, the clams were 5 stars. I used to work as a fry cook at a legendary place on the Cape and I know a good clam when I taste one. These were golden brown, fresh and plump, and the bellies were perfectly clean - no grit at all. And they were fried to perfection (easier said than done). Perfect amount of crunch, not greasy, just right. The onion rings were also Grade A. Crunchy but tender, not too thick, no grease, and the coating didn't separate from the onion upon impact as is all too common. Again, just right. With a tiny bit of help from my wife, my son and I polished off the whole plate of clams and rings. The best news is that despite the absolute gluttony, I experienced zero indigestion. I was fully prepared to make the sacrifice, but to my surprise, nothing bad happened at all. In fact, I felt just fine. I've felt worse after eating a medium fries at McDonald's than I did after splitting a quart of fried clams at Harry's. That's a tribute to the quality of the food and their frying skills. According to my family, thumbs up on the Shepard's pie and chowder as well (although I really wasn't paying attention). The waitress couldn't have been nicer and she made us feel right at home. To paraphrase Arnold, "We'll be baaack."

We tried this gem after seeing many posts from friends on Facebook. The place is small, yet comfy, with outstanding service and great food. The menu is expansive and while seafood is the star, other offerings including breakfast should not take a back seat. The Crab and Lobster Bisque is like no other I have ever tasted. Thick and creamy but also light. The whole belly clam and oyster combo plate was seafood perfection, with a decent portion of seafood and crispy french fries. Other menu items include burgers and pasta dishes along with chicken and ribs and shepherds pie. I did not try the mac and cheese but I saw a whole lot of it being ordered. The only bad thing was leaving, but I can correct that and I will.

Stopped by late in the day, ordered to go. Wife had lobster roll,..good. Son had fish and chips,...good. I had whole clam plate,...lousy. I called and spoke to someone who returned my message and all I got was an explanation of the high cost of clams and a lousy attitude. Won't go back

I have lived in Westborough for 18 years and Harry's is by far the best restaurant in the area. As you walk in you will notice a classic diner look that has not changed at all over the years. It's always crowded there, but there's rarely a long wait. Each and every staff member loves to talk to all of the customers, not just the regulars. When ordering drinks and starters, I would highly recommend their milkshakes and the cheese fries. The cheese fries at Harry's are heavenly and are something you must get there. The menu has over two hundred options. My friend counted once to be sure. I've tried at least twenty different meal options and never been disappointed. Everyone raves about their fried clams and seafood, but I'm not a fan of seafood. The prices are more than reasonable too and the late night hours make it a favorite for all the teenagers in town. Personally I have never had a problem with anything at Harry's. The most common complaint that I have seen on Yelp is about cold food. My only experience with this was that one time when I was their one family of around six or seven people were given their food and one of the meals was cold. The manager and waitress apologized several times and they were given a new meal and their whole family ate free and were given free desserts too. Overall, Harry's is one of my favorite restaurants because the food and restaurant in general are amazing.

Very small, almost diner-ish place. We recently did takeout, which was decent, but not a show-stopper. The clams had nice size bellies and were tasty; the shrimp was good, though a little spicy; the scallops were somewhat disappointing, the batter just fell off and the scallops weren't that tasty; the sweet potato tots were really good. Overall - decent spot for fried seafood.

I came here for dinner and got exactly what I expected. I had the buffalo chicken cheese fries and a Philly cheese steak sub. There was barely any buffalo chicken on the fries but an INSANE amount of cheese. It was pretty disgusting. I could hear my heart shriek with each frie I ate. The Philly cheese was really generic. The meat was thin so I was gobbling mouthfuls of bread down. To make matters worse, the steak needed some salt or some sort of seasoning, it tasted like nothing! While the food was mediocre, the service was exceptional. My waitress made sure I was comfortable throughout the night.

One of my favorite spots to eat after some mountain biking! This place isn't fancy, it's exactly what you picture when you think of an old New England drive in. Homemade pies, ice creams, fried seafood, chowders, and homestyle/comfort foods as well. They even make vanilla coke right in front of you, instead of buying the bottled vanilla coke... I know that doesn't seem like much, and maybe it's mostly nostalgia, but it's wonderful! They also serve beer (not sure baout wine or hard liquor). I'm always tempted by the homemade pies and the ice cream there, but I'm always too full to try. One day... The wait staff has always been super friendly and the food is always perfect. This is New England style comfort food at its absolute best!

On my short break after work, I went here because I really wanted something tasty and somewhere new to review. I went inside and was surprised that it was set up like a diner. I sat down and a very nice girl with long blonde hair (who I wish I remembered her name) took care of me. I came in around 4:45 and had to be back at work for 5:30. I only ordered french fries and a chicken Caesar wrap. They were both absolutely delicious. I have never had a better chicken caesar wrap in my life. I really appreciate my waitress too. She knew I had to leave soon and put a rush on my food. She was great. I recommend that everyone comes here at least once for some great food and a cute atmosphere

Been coming here since I was a kid,it's seen better days new booths ,maybe that's why the prices are crazy for a diner ,food is ok small portions for what you pay..service is friendly and still good or else would have given 2 stars.

Exactly what it should be. I come here almost every time I am in town. This is a friendly, neighborhood diner with a better-than-average menu, and good prices. Yes, it's a bit run-down, and yes, it can get busy - but there's a reason for that. You won't go wrong with the fried seafood, and I am a fan of the Turkey Ruben. This time, my friend got the Buffalo Chicken Mac and Cheese (yes, all one thing). It was both decadent and tasty. Folks expecting more of a 'nice-restaurant' experience may not love it. As for me, I keep going back for good, basic grub and plenty of it. CASH ONLY (It can't be said often enough).

Fresh and friendly! Little diner family style setting with draft beer... Homemade chicken tenders and burgers for the kids; loaded lobster roll and calamari platter for the adults. It was great.

I probably should have just left when I saw the menu, but I've been meaning to try this place for a while. I ordered a clam strip roll with fries which wasn't bad. I've had better, but it was edible. The problem? It set me back $16. After tip it was closer to $20. Are you kidding me??? I guess it's my fault for assuming the fries were included in the $11 listed price for the roll or that at the most it would be a slight upcharge. Nope. Had to pay for a full pint, which was actually just some fries on a plate, not sure if it was actually a pint. It's not like the roll was huge either, just a hot dog bun with some clams in it and a few spilling over on the side. I'd expect these prices on the Cape, but not around here . Scratch that, I've had lobster rolls on the cape that weren't much more than this. To top it off, the interior is kind of shabby and the servers seemed surly, although my particular waitress was fine. If you could see the ocean from here, I'd give them another star.

The motto at Harry's is "fried is a food group." So if that's your thing, this is your place. Tons of great food, wide variety, with a friendly old-school, wood paneling vibe. Where else do you still see waitresses talking on a landline with a cord connecting the headset to the phone? Heads up- $2 for a small cup of soda, and they charge for refills! Not cheap, but it's the best we have found so far on this somewhat deserted stretch of highway. We'll be back!

Having grown up on Cape Ann and now living in Metrowest, I have been on the search for a good clam roll. Harry's didn't disappoint! Delicious, not overly greasy. Keeping me from 5 stars is the lack of outdoor seating.

Great place. I've been working in the neighborhood for almost two years and finally dropped in. I've been avoiding it, because I know I would become hopelessly addicted, Stand up diner food, great atmosphere, wonderful wait staff. I had the liver, onions, and bacon (I know, I know..) and it was straight out of a film noire... Perfect. Guy on the stool (of course) beside me was having pot roast. Butternut squash, mashed with gravy... It's that kind of place. Saw two huge plates of fired clams go by, that may be next. Belly on, of course. A little pricey for Worcester county, and cash only. But worth it.
(4)
Roger T.
Just your average diner. Staff is super friendly. Seafood prices are higher than average, breakfast food is typical uninspiring breakfast food. Not too sure why this place is often busy - most likely because of their high visibility RT9 location and the fact that there's NO breakfast places around there.
(3)
Charley T.
Nice restaurant for lunch. The waitress are nice and friendly. The price is little expensive for lunch but it's local and small business. Only problem is the men restroom is outside of restaurant. The men restroom look like gas station, but it's clean and smell clean. The females restroom is inside of the restaurant.

Great seafood and homemade desserts! Great service and cool diner atmosphere. Wish there were more like Harry's in the world.

Terry B.
Unpretentious, cash-only, with food that is uniformly delicious and 5 star wait help. I had the lobster roll and onion rings my first time here, and they were both top-notch. Before we left town we wanted to try Harry's for breakfast. I would have preferred to see more unusual options here, but what they did make was quite good. If we go up north again next fall, we will surely be back here.
(4)
Reid F.
There was a time when this place was pretty good, but unfortunately, that time has passed. It's now just mediocre food that is priced too high for a place that's cash-only and you have to go outside to use the men's room.

Mac and cheese, gotta try it. Seems like a mom and pop operated restaurant. Had to find a place off 90 around 9pm and as still open, this was it. I was pleasantly surprised. I would like to go back someday and try the fried fish. They kept coming out the window with it and it looks huge!

Trying to get to Harry's was quite an ordeal. I was attempting to drop in on an old high school friend after 30 years of not seeing him. I found his house, rang the doorbell and found him not there. Bummed out, I left a note on the door letting him know that I came by. My wife and I decided to find a good place for a lobster roll. So we yelped and found Harry's but it was closed, or so we thought it was. So we got out of the car, and asked a random passer-byer where to find a good lobster roll and she said Harry's but we told her it was closed and so she gave us the name of a #2 spot. We yelped that place and that restaurant too was closed. So driving out of the parking lot, we decide to ask one more person, and he of course says Harry's is the best place. When I tell him it's closed, he tells me I'm wrong, that it's open. I show him the Yelp page that says "CLOSED" and he still insists that they're open. I call the phone number and sure enough, someone at Harry's answers. Yelp got this one wrong. Don't know how that happened, but it almost cost me a lobster roll! We went to Harry's and the funniest thing of all. It happened to be right down the street from my friend's house. Please note: Harry's is a small roadside diner. Here's what we ordered: LOBSTER ROLL--i liked it *a lot*. Lobster was tender and sweet. Very light mayonnaise mix. SCALLOPS AND CLAMS COMBO PLATE--Perfect plate of fried seafood heaven. I grew up a few miles down the road from this place. But I never knew about this place. I was in high school. What did I know about food back then? After we downed all this fried heavenly seafood, we decided to swing back around to my friend's house. This time, he was home. I got to meet up with him after all these years. We were in a rush to get on the road to NYC, but we chatted for a couple hours before taking off. It was a great day, and Harry's was part of making it great!

Average Greasy-Spoon breakfast. Food was OK, not much of a portion, too expensive for an omelet and toast. I did give them a second chance and was even more disappointed. I ordered the Big Belly Clam Plate (the larger size) and again, the portion was terrible. I even mentioned something to the server and I could tell it wasn't the first time she had heard this. I did speak to a regular who too loves the seafood and he said the portions have gotten so small he refuses to order the seafood now. NOT GOOD, typically a sign they are on their last-leg. Can't say I'll be returning...

I have been going to Harry's for 40 years and it is still my Resturant of choice. Most everything is made from scratch and tastes GREAT! Sue makes some of the best desserts and Andrew makes the best sloppy Joe with home made chips mmmmm good!

This place was AWESOME! The waitress was sweet and very accommodating, and the menu had great options for everybody! The fish chowder was delicious as was the crab & lobster bisque. The fried clams and fried scallops were very yummy, but a little bit too pricey. Overall I will definitely be revisiting Harry's again... And again... And again.

Used to work down the street and we LOVED going to Harry's on Thursdays for their mac and cheese! I love getting the original but also love their steak bomb. My co-workers love the buffalo chicken one. So good! Definitely can't eat it everyday, it's so rich, but it's such a fun treat during the work week!

This place sucks. Sums it up but I suppose I have to continue on with the following reasons: 1. Cash only, onsite ATM has exorbitant fees. 2. No refills on soft drinks 3. Silverware and china not cleaned thoroughly 4. Slow and Indifferent service 5. Old nasty decor, peeling split seats, greasy wood paneled walls 6. Cheap/low quality food 7. Overpriced cheap/low quality food 8. Slow cooks, wait on a meal was quite long 9. Staff makes you feel uncomfortable, I'm a minority (black guy) so it might only go for my kind. 10. Wait staff is generally unprofessional, many have been there for years apparently. Which is sad, and shows that they have a lack of ambition or intelect to move on to something better. 10 reasons for why this place sucks. If you are a octogenarian WASP that prefers things how they have always been, with a bland lack of diversity in your dining surroundings and food then this is the run down greasey spoon for you!

I went to Harry's for lunch today. I ordered buffalo chicken fries and a cesar salad. When I arrived ( cash only ) they told me my total was $27.00. My jaw hit the floor. Their reasoning was, we make large salads. My wife manages a cafe. They sell larger salads at a better quality for $7.00. The chicken was not good, the fries your typical truck stop fries, cold and soggy. There was very little croutons and blue cheese. Granted I was a few minutes late picking up. Would it have killed them to put it under a heat lamp. They took clumps of chicken with buffalo sauce on them and dumped them on top of the fries with very little blue cheese. I have eaten here in the past and have never been so disappointed. Never again will I eat here what a rip off

Michael R.
All their fried seafood dishes are all the same. Bland unseasoned thick batter, and small expensive portions. Anyone who's gives this place a four star rating has probably been eating prepared frozen seafood dishes too long. There's much better in the area. Try West Boylston Seafood for starters. The only good thing I have to say about Harry's is that their wait staff is friendly.

I'm driving from Hartford up to Harry's to meet a friend for dinner and the toll man on the Mass Pike suggests that I order the Haddock. I'm going to pause here, because I had no idea what a Haddock was or even if I was understanding the toll man correctly... and yes, it is strange that I'm having this conversation with Bill the inquisitive toll man who didn't care if there were a million cars behind me. Hi Bill!! I'm glad my friend ordered the Fried Calamari, that was really good. Haddock tasted fresh, I'm not crazy about fish so thats where the lack of enthusiasm comes from that you're picking up on. Here's what I learned from my waitress: "Fresh haddock has a clean, white flesh and can be cooked in the same ways as cod. Freshness of a haddock fillet can be determined by how well it holds together, as a fresh one will be firm"...see the education you can learn when you experiment with your food choices! Priceless Experience.

- A tight and cramp restaurant that's been around forever. Vinyl 70's decore. - Very friendly service though rushed and busy around peak times. - CASH only. Bathrooms outside. - Crayons and coloring books for kids. Free cookies for kids. - Root beer float

I've eaten at Harry's more times than I can count and it has never once let me down. The food is always great and the service is always pleasant. It's a very casual place to go for a quick but delicious meal and it's really convenient that it's open later than most diners/restaurants around the area. The menu is huge, it seems like they serve just about everything. There are about 15 different types of burgers and I highly recommend the German Burger which comes with kielbasa and sour kraut. All of the seafood is amazing, and the lobster roll comes with a ton of meat. They always have great specials going on and you can order breakfast any time of day which is always a nice option. They also have the best onion rings on the planet. Thursdays at Harry's are the best because it's Mac and Cheese day, where they have about 10 different kinds of mac and cheese. I've tried the buffalo chicken as well as the lobster mac and cheese and both were excellent. If you want to watch your diet, you should be careful going to Harry's. It's pretty tough to eat healthy here, their fried food is so good that it's nearly impossible to resist. It is totally worth the calories and I pretty much eat as much as I can here and never look back...

One of my favorites. a good local hang out and the last place u would think to find great seafood and/or diner food the only problem some find the fact that the business is a cash only one but don't worry they have An ATM Harry's serves breakfast all day and the waitstaff is very quick and considerate. overall great place.

Whenever we visit Massachusetts from New Jersey we stop at Harry's. It is one of the best small diamonds in the rough of Massachusetts. The food is delicious and has many choices for everyone in the family. Love this restaurant!!

Going to Harry's restaurant was an "ok" experience. Outdated decor didn't bother me, but overpriced ($52 lunch for two) greasy fare didn't sit too well with me. The staff was friendly and professional, but that's not enough for me to ever come back.

They only get two stars because the place looked real dates. It smelled awful and the food was bland and tasteless. The service was excellent.

Salmon grilled, excellent. $16 includes a small salad and excellent slaw. Good sized portion. But cooked perfectly, pink inside with lots of taste. Wife had fried haddock which she liked. Pino Noir for $6.95 good. I'd rather this place than the big box places. This place has a history.........and character. I hope they stay open for years! I live in Boston, and come for business in Westborough. And look forward to coming here.

OMG! We were visiting from Phoenix. What a find. We had the fried clams. "Big Belly" I believe its called. Best fried clams ever, great price. We will go there again next time we are up. Got one of those "fried is a food group" t-shirts. ha. I will wear it to my next doctor appointment.

The service was good, but the food weren't... We had chowder and fried clams. The clams were ok, but the chowder was a big disappointment, it's the worst I had on my trip to Boston.

Exactly...I've had better. I"m not sure why this place charges so much for food, when honestly I could have went to Cracker Barrel and got more food for less money. Almost 4 dollars for a scoop of ice cream is ridiculous. So, lets do the math..open faced roast beef and a scoop of ice cream for dessert...20 dollars plus tip. Went to Cracker Barrel where the food was better and received a chicken fried steak, two biscuits, gravy, large diet coke, 3 eggs, and a small portion of grits..$11.90. Save your money and go somewhere else.

Your typical "dinky diner" experience and i say that in a good way. I find nothing as satisfying as kicking it old school at a local diner sometimes. Don't go here if your new year's resolution is to eat healthy food. This place has "Fried Food" written all over it, it's known primarily for it's fried seafood but it's by no means limited to the sea. There are tons of options for the land lovers too. I got the fried calamari. Mmmmmmm so yummy. And my friend got chicken tenders and a plate of pasta, I swear there was enough pasta to feed at least 2 or 3 people on that plate. Your world will not be shattered by the amazingness of the food here by any means but it certainly hits the spot when it comes to comfort food. Relax, enjoy the friendly service and eat in the old fashion booths or at the counter for a fun experience.

Have been going to Harry's since 1982. ALWAYS excellent Fried Belly Clams and Onion Rings. Although we now live in NJ we go at least 4 times a year. I am so glad the reviewer "DJ" wont be back as there will be one less waiting in line for an empty table.

This is a great old-fashioned restaurant, with delicious seafood and chowder, and is not just fake old timey decorations, but it actually has been around for more than 60 years. The chowdah is great, very thick, but they alternate between fish, corn, and clam chowder each day, so you hit the jackpot if you come on a clam chowder night. I have compared every clam chowder that I have ever had to Harry's, it's that good. Bottom line: want good food? Go to Harry's

Comfy booths. Delicious frappes. Perfectly light and tasty batter for the fried things. (Although the french fries are so-so...) Burgers cooked the way you ask for them to be cooked. Amazingly friendly and attentive service. Open until 2am! (at least on weekends.) And the men's room is..... OUTSIDE. (Blue Door.) Suck it boys! HA!

Visiting my daughter and having passed Harry's multiple times I decided to try it. After reading the Yelp reviews I had mixed emotions about going but I did. What I found was a mid range type local restaurant that I feel will appeal to locals more so than passers by. I found the food just OK. I have had better and I have had worse. I had a combined plate of clam bellies and calamari. The portions of the seafood was large. The amount of cocktail sauce and tartar sauce was small. I did not ask for more. The fries were typical fries and nothing to write home about. They were made OK. The seafood I found to be a little heavier breaded than what I like but it was acceptable. There was slightly more oil in the food than I like but again not a deal breaker. The staff was also just typical. Nothing stood out. They were appropriately friendly and professional but nothing extra. They answered my questions matter of factly but that was about it. Didn't seem very enthusiastic and spent a lot of time talking to each other about the boring job and other personal and job related topics. They just did the job they had to but again nothing more. Also, for the number of tables here appeared to be way to many servers. As to prices, I did feel that it was overpriced by about 25%. This might be local pricing for the area but I thought it was a little on the high side. I probably won't eat there again but this is not a non-recommendation for the place. If you want, and really like fried foods, then give it a try. It just wasn't for me but I don't regret going. I feel it is really a 2.5 star rating but since this can't be done I gave it the benefit of the doubt.

Food was excellent. The restaurant was a bit small and dated but the place was extremely busy. The only drawback with the place is that eccepts cash only and no refills on soda. Service was good. The entrees are priced well and have good size portions.

This is just what you want to see in Westborough! This is the local diner that has an amazing seafood provider. We stopped in late on a Friday evening ~930pm. We ordered chower, outrageous; steamers each (1 lb bucket each), succulent, and then the Lobster Roll each. This was so good. It rivaled the Cape, and it is in our backyard! If you are between here and somewhere else, choose Harrys, especially for seafood and sundaes!

Born and raised in Chicago, lobster is a real treat for me. I have been to Harry's restaurant twice now with my uncle who lives nearby. I have never been happier with the quality of food and level of service I received while dining at Harry's. My lobster roll sandwich had enormous fresh pieces of lobster, and was not loaded with mayonnaise. The ice cream sundae I ordered at the end of the meal was towering and covered in warm velvety fudge. Honestly, I'm already dreaming about the next time I visit my uncle and can order another delicious lobster roll at Harry's.

Although my wife liked fish chowder, lobster rolls were not very good. They were good sized but had little lobster taste, and salty as if the lobsters had been sitting in brine instead of fresh. Charged me 4 for an upgrade from fries to rings.

I cannot believe that this restaurant can survive as a cash-only establishment. But, they have been here forever. I've been to Harry's a few times for breakfast and they always hit the spot. This last time I ordered their spinach and cheese omelet. The waitress looked at me like I was on crack when I said that I did not want pancakes, or bread, or homefries (nasty carbs!). Instead, I wanted two extra eggs in my omelet - they wouldn't do that so I got them on the side for an additional $1.50. Food quality here is good. It's an old school diner and the clientele tends to be old school as well, haha. Not a bad spot if you need some breakfast. I can't speak on the lobster rolls or clams, though.

I have been coming here since I was wee. My grandparents used to take me growing up and I still come back as an adult. It's a typical diner on the inside, but they have a lot of good dinner options and an amazing variety of comfort foods. I've never had anything BAD here but it's certainly not a gourmet restaurant. It's often busy, open until 2am, and cash only (but they do have an ATM on the premises).

Belly Clams for my big belly. The Tuesday special is incredible. Two seafood items plus coleslaw and fries for under 10 bucks! The menu looks like it could be filled with usual diner booby traps, but if you can logically figure out they do best (their logo is a clam with legs) I don't think you can go wrong! On top of that, get the sundaes here! Guaranteed to turn any frown upside down, the sundaes are delish, large, and full of ice cream. As an ice cream enthusiast, my girlfriend watched in horror as I scoffed my and most of her portions. Harry's is a great place to stop by for a quick sundae or some good ole fried seafood any day!

Harry's is very reliable if you know what to order! The burgers are surprisingly good, and believe it or not, their steak tips with grilled onions and peppers with a side of mashed potatoes is the best I've ever had. At first the seat-yourself atmosphere might scare you off, if you don't know the waitresses they might come off as standoffish, they are running around to get food straight from the kitchen to the table, no time for coddling in the diner world... they are quick! This is a great place to bring kids, they get a free ice cream, brownie or cookie for dessert! And there is something quite enjoyable about staring at all the delicious pies, cobblers and cakes in the glass dessert case after your meal. We eat at Harry's a couple of times a month usually after the kids have late sports activities, it's a nice place to get a good meal and see the locals, they usually have the sox, bruins, or celtics playing on the tube. Some of our favorites, fried clams and scallop plate if you're feeling decadent. Thursday nights mac and cheese- EVERY combination of mac you can image, my husband does mac with buffalo chicken and diced onion... ewwwww! The omelets are always on point! The denver is always done well. Raspberry lime rickey is always delicious if you've never tried it, give it a shot! If you're from the area, you know that Harry's is the best place to stop late-night and grab a bite with a friend :)

Great food, friendly staff and quaint atmosphere. Next time I travel here, I'll make it a point to dine here again for sure. The lobster roll was excellent. Add to that, fried mushrooms, open-face Rost beef sandwich made for a very nice meal with friends. The only down was the fact that the burger that was ordered by one member of our party was not cooked to order. A So, we were never offered drink refills.

I grew up in Westborough and have eaten at Harry's dozens of times over the past twenty years. My plan today was to fill up on fried seafood and come home and write a five star review on Yelp. But obviously that didn't happen. Some things never change. Same menu, same goofy cartoon pictures of menu items on the wall, same cash only, same soft drinks served with loads of pebble ice... But based on today's visit it seems that one thing may have changed at Harry's: the food. Portions were smaller than they used to be (not necessarily a bad thing). And it didn't taste as good. Harry's Haddock Plate used to be the best thing ever. This time the fish and french fries were flavorless. Onion rings used to be shoestring, and today they were normal size. And bland likes everything else. Harry's gets three stars today, despite a two start meal, because I have had so many good experiences there over the years. But I will be back to see if this is a trend, and I will update my review accordingly.

Let me start this off by saying I WANT to like this place, because it is so close to my house and is open late...and who doesn't love diner food? Unfortunately, both times I ate here, there was hair in my food (do they have to do that because it's called Harry's??). Deal-breaker for me! They're also really expensive for a diner and they don't take cash.

Love this place!!! Full belly clams & scallops with onion rings and coleslaw. Always good and it was a lunch time special for under $10.00 Has all the great desserts too PIES with ice cream. To full this time but next time maybe we will eat in reverse. Waitstaff fun and friendly.

Your typlical greasy spoon. Large portions, cheap mediocre food. Nothing that will blow you away and nothing that will make you puke your guts out. everything you order will just taste of grease. I am sure that this place was awesome in the 1950's. Unfortunately, tastes have changed a lot since then.... But their food has not.

Evidently this place has been around since 1946 so they've had plenty of time to hone their craft. Over 200 items on the menue. Good old fashioned road food. I liked it. The staff are energetic and efficient. There seemed to be a ton of regulars there as well which is always a good sign. I've seen some of the reviews say the place is pricey. I had a pot roast dinner (adequate portion) for $13.00. Is that a lot? I really don't know. I'll come back and try the fried clams they seem to be known for. Overall the food is good of it's kind and the place definitely has character.

went for ice cream sundaes on Saturday night at 9:30pm - Great Sundaes, great prices - a real hold-over kind of place with teens working the tables. Relax a bit and have fun with this place. They DO have an ATM for those not understanding why it's cash only. Fish and Chips looked great going by. Sat at the counter on stools and it was just right. And it's actually open until 2AM!

Nice little truck stop type place. I have gone here throughout the years for quick American type food. However I would recommend going to JP's Pub located also in Westboro for better tasting and high quality food, larger portions, and lower prices than Harry's. I have never had a bad meal at Harry's and love their Cappuccino shake but if I want lower prices and great, fresh seafood then I head to close by JP's Pub. JP's is a small hole in the wall place that only locals seem to know about. Harry's is right on Rt 9 in Westboro and is open early and open late at night (1 or 2am I think) because they are a truck-stop type small diner. Men just so you know their bathroom is around the back, outside of the restaurant. Probably for easy access for the truckers. Women the bathroom is small, 1 toilet, located on the inside. Again this is a very small, American food (seafood, burgers, pasta, etc) truck-stop like diner. Good food but the prices can be a bit pricey at times. They do have daily specials, though. So make sure to read their specials boards when you arrive.

(In all fairness, the time I stopped here was a couple of months ago, so things could have changed since then) I'm a food person, and I don't hold mom and pop diners up to the same standards I'd hold Via for example, but this has to be one of the worst seafood fry joints I've ever been to. 1. my clam strips were cold, my clam chowder was lukewarm. I know it's 10 pm at night, but you don't serve the customer cold food.' 2. Took forever to get a water, and never got a refill on it 3. For a 'cheap' fry join, it's pretty pricey They don't take credit cards, which should keep the costs down (Tech Pizza, for example) but the prices are much higher than I'd expect from your average diner/fry joint. Frankly after that experience I've avoided the place, and I'm unlikely to ever go back. In all fairness, it could just have been a really bad night there, or it could have changed since then. I just know I'd rather eat stale bread than eat there again.

They take care of you over at Harry's. The servers are so friendly and down to earth. But what kept me coming back was the food. The corn chowder was amazing, it was the best I've ever had. Their burgers are very tender and flavorful, I had the German burger, Texas burger, and the cheese burger club. I would recommend the Texas burger and the German burger if you want something intense.

Harry's has declined a lot in the last few years. We felt like some fried seafood, and went to the only fried seafood place in the area, Harry's. I had a small fried clam plate with cole slaw and French fries. The clams had little taste, and what was most disturbing was the price - $19. My wife had the fish and chips. It was a small piece of haddock, cole slaw and French fries. For this modest plate the cost was $15. The clams had little taste, and the haddock was very fishy, either from old fish or old cooking oil. I was very disappointed with the food, and I was shocked by the final price. In addition to the two above plates, we had a small order of onion rings and a single small beer. The final bill with tip was $53. This is only a DINER. How could they justify this kind of price - 50% more than other good restaurants. The quality was poor and the price was exorbitant. If you want to waste your money, this place is for you.

Now I certainly consider myself to have a pretty sophisticated palate, but that doesn't mean that I don't crave some cheap greasy food every now and again. I was not impressed with Harry's. It was a HOT summer night. My husband and I couldn't bare the thought of turning on the stove. And we were both craving greasy food. All I wanted was to enjoy a sinfully delicious fish sandwich with fries. But for a place that prides itself on its skill with a frialator, the batter they use is BLAND and TASTELESS. And when over half of the menu is battered and fried, I can bet that the fried chicken and fried clams and fried everything else was just as tasteless. Not even salt made it better. And I don't mind greasy, but soggy is another thing. Ick! The only people I can see liking this place are people who have never been to the beach and eaten real, fresh, beer battered fish and chips in the summer time. Same for the clam chowder. The only people I can see thinking Harry's clam chowder is delicious must be used to canned clam chowder, not home made. And honestly, the prices are good for the amount they give you, but that's because they give you an ungodly amount of food. I hate that! I'd rather it be half the price and half the food, especially when half the food would still have been MORE than enough to eat for any hungry lumberjack. What a waste! I will not be visiting Harry's again. Unless I am really really drunk. Yuck.

I was craving a burger but at the last minute, I decided to go healthy and went for a veggie burger. I called for carry out and the woman who answered was very friendly and helpful. I also got caramel apple walnut pie (what, fruit can be healthy). I'm pretty sure the veggie burger was something I could buy frozen at the supermarket and I was expecting fries to come with it for the price but they didn't. .. which since I was trying to be healthy was a good thing, I guess. Anyway, I don't think it's fair to judge a diner on something like a veggie burger because that's not really what they're going for. Now the pie- that was pretty good. Not too sweet (the caramel was on top) and the apples tasted fresh. And apparently, they have like a million varieties. So I will likely go back for more pie- you know, for when I'm on a health kick.

Nostalgic decor, big menu, breakfast all day. Good food, good variety. Don't count on getting anything healthy here, this is comfort food and fried food and the like. Try for a table unless you're small, the bar stools are cramped and awkward. The other day I decided that for the first time ever I was going to save room for dessert. So I had soup (seafood chowder, good), and a salad (nothing to write home about) and eyed the pie selection. Well, as it turned out, nothing in the pie case that day was calling to me... so I got a brownie sundae special that they had. Warm brownie (maybe two), a couple scoops of ice cream, hot fudge, whipped cream, and mini chocolate chips. Holy moly. HUGE. It was wonderful. I tried, I really did, but about halfway through I had to admit that the dessert was just plain bigger than I was. It won, although I enjoyed the challenge.

I like Harry's a lot. My problem with Harry's is that the bisque and chowder is thickened with either potato or corn starch and it is just not good. This is comfort food so don't try it if you're on a 1200 calorie diet....want a good burger with fries or a clam roll with some really tasty onion rings....eat here. They serve good, hot food in a charming throw back setting....but expect to pay a lot for basic comfort food. They do not serve breakfast early on weekends and that is really a shame. Get the clams, I would stay away from the lobster roll....

Awesome place....best lobster roll in town (JPs is a close second). On a quiet Monday night, I went in, sat at the bar, and immensely enjoyed the lobster roll and fried bellies. The best. Period.

Had to pay a visit to Harry's while I was back in Shrewsbury this weekend - had been craving a lobster roll for literally days and time was running out. So. . .I set out to Harry's at 10 pm on a Saturday night in search of the perfect Lobster Roll. Harry's is basically the roadside diner that time forgot - with the exception of the flatscreen on the wall it looks pretty much the same as it did 30 years ago, and that is a good thing! Classic wood paneling, old counter stools, and even older waitresses who know their customers and the food. Since mine was takeout I sat at the counter while they assembled it. Great atmosphere, very casual and easy. The Lobster Roll at Harry's comes with Onion Rings, which is an unlikely combo but really works. After driving back to our room, I unwrapped this New England classic and it was exactly as I remembered it - giant hunks of fresh lobster claw with just a hint of mayo, nestled in a buttered NE hot dog bun. Heaven! The Onion rings complimented the sweetness nicely, overall a great combination. Only downside (and it was my fault) was that the lobster was room temp since I'd let it sit a while until I got home. Next time I'm eating it right there!! FYI - saw a bunch of folks getting the clam strips and they looked great, as did the homemade mac and cheese.

Finally stopped in this summer ('12) after driving by on my way to work for years. Can't believe I waited this long!! Fantastic food! Got hooked on the lobster rolls and fried clams but they have other terrific selections (eg. open faced turkey sandwiches and chicken pot pies have been recent finds). Highly recommended.

I don't see the magic here but my wife likes it so we stop once in a while. The food ranges from mediocre to good but I've never been wowed. The lack of credit cards is annoying because it's pricey. You can get away with cash only if your place is cheap but this is high priced diner food. The tables are a little close together in the "main" dining room too-- so don't expect private conversations if it's busy.

Like others have said, come to Harry's for the fried seafood and excellent desserts. We also enjoy Mac and Cheese night. We always bring guests here because it is great food in a restaurant that combines excellent service with new england charm.

I like Harry's very much, and I've been eating there for, gulp, over 20 years. Sure bets: The chowder of the day Fried clams The chicken club sandwich The Raspberry Lime Rickey to drink Service is slow, but has always been good for me. I was sad to read JM S.'s review and I hope that his experience was atypical. No one should ever be made to feel uncomfortable in that way.

This was the only restaurant open at 10:30 one night a few years ago and we wanted fish, so we got fish. The scallops were prepared well, but had an odd ammonia like smell. I've since found the same in frozen scallops from my supermarket on occasion. So, it' wasn't their fault. My friends fish was tasty. In all, it's good to find a fast food looking eat in with a real menu. They wouldn't hurt themselves to actually redo the inside to restaurant standards, but that wouldn't change the food.

I've been going to this place for several years now. It's open late so it's a great place to meet over coffee and blueberry pie. I give this place 5 stars b/c....a) it's family owned. I'd much rather patronize a non-chain establishment. b) They've got great hours...normally they're one of the last establishments to close on route 9. c) the staff has always been friendly and quick. d) prices are reasonable. We consider it a unique gem you're not going to find anywhere else.

This place was just a little gem. Home cooking and great service. It is a vanishing breed in Manhattan so I was delighted to find this place here in MA. Don't confuse it with a 5 star restaurant with linen napkins. It is a homey, cosy charming place with good food. My husband order chicken pot pie and I had the Greek style salmon which was really tasty. I substituted the rice for a baked potato (a real baked potato - not microwaved). The deserts looked wonderful. Cash only, no credit cards. Just in case you want to know, the ladies room was very clean, always a good sign.

It's a diner and not a particularly good one at that. I went there for brunch and one would think that a diner would have decent brunch items, but I was disappointed. I wanted a waffle and they didn't have it. In the end, I ordered a standard breakfast item with pancake, sausage, bacon and orange juice. The pancake and bacon was ok. The orange juice came in a kid size cup and the sausages didn't taste too great either. The waitress was nice, but it took a long time before she brought us water. Maybe their lunch/dinner food is better, but I am not sure I would go to Harry's if there are other options in the area.

Good breakfast. Nice staff. If you are from the South, you need to eat here. The place is small and gets packed during dinner.

Harry's is a popular local diner that prides itself on good ol' fashion casual dining, friendly service and lots of fresh homestyle comfort food. Though I have never had their fried seafood, which is what they are known for, I have had breakfast and lunch and ordered a variety of dishes in my half dozen visits. All were great, well prepared, nice portions and served up with a smile. I work down the street, so most of my visits have been for lunch. If I ate fried clams for lunch on a work day, I would probably nod out at an afternoon meeting and whack my head on the table. That would not impress anyone. The menu is extensive so it's always hard for me to decide what to order, because it all looks good! The atmosphere is authentic 1950's-60's diner, with tables, booths and counter service that has those round swivel seats that are classic vintage. They do not take credit cards, but do have a small ATM inside. And oh yeah, I believe they now have made the woman's restroom into a coed restroom, so the guys don't have to go outside all the time (old school gas station style). They serve breakfast all day and into the night, and also serve beer! Their hours are as extensive as their menu, so give it a try for breakfast, lunch, "suppah" or a late night snack. It's all good at Harry's! 4 Stars ****

The place was clean and the serve was courteous but felt a little rushed. I ordered my omelet without cheese and she brought it back with cheese. So I know her mind was else where or just not paying attention when I ordered because I don't have a mild timid voice. The food was OK and would possible go back.

Walking in feels like a step through time, where you don't worry about the amount of saturated/unsaturated fats, every slice of life can be seen from dating teenagers to whole families to truckers, and there is no shortage of simple desserts to choose from. The only thing that seemed to break the image was the food served on tiny fiesta plates that could barely contain the food. The pricing is higher than Captain Marden's, but very reasonable. Tonight, I had a mile-high club sandwich, a venerable tower of 3 slices of rye and large amounts of corned beef and pastrami with sauerkraut and coleslaw that is not saturated with mayo, but letting the vegetables be the primary flavor. Also a massive pile of onion rings that are not your typical thickly battered onion rings, but simple, neatly separated rings in a very light batter, not overly salted. Ketchup here is in those wonderful glass bottles that I miss growing up with. I had a raspberry lime ricky, 1/2 filled with very crushed ice, a bit on the sweet side and lacking in carbonation, but flavor-wise very good nevertheless. My friend had a Zippyburger (a club hamburger on toast with fried salami) that I snuck a bite of. Nice, savory salami. The sweet potato fries are similarly light, letting the flavor of the vegetable dominate more than salt or batter. I've swung by here on my way to Worcester, grabbing fried whole belly or clam strips to go. The helpings are massive and I am not capable of finishing an order in a single meal, ever. Service is fine, though every time I'm there, it's crowded, so it takes... a reasonable amount of time to get to you. It isn't understaffed. This is a wonderful little stop for the nostalgia nuts out there with its quirky hand-painted red signs that ring around the walls of the restaurant. I'll avoid sitting at the bar with my height coupled with the short stools being a bad combination, though. Dishes to try: Onion rings, fried clams (strips and bellies)

I finally tried Harrys after driving by it a million times! My husband and I went after work for dinner on a Wednesday, it was fairly busy. The waitress we had so sooo friendly and just great. I had a lobster roll which was excellent, overloaded! One thing to note, it was nearly $18! On Mondays & Tuesdays its more like $11! So the next time I go for a lobster roll I will save the $7. My husband had a BBQ pulled pork sandwich and loved it -- only about $8. We also had fried pickles which were very good and some homemade potato chips-- the potato chips were still hot thats how fresh they were! we had ever last chip! Will definetly go back, their desserts sounded great as well we were too full to try them.

Harry's came highly recommended to me as a no-frills seafood place. What is turned out to be was a diner with very bad service and so-so food. I am a big fan of fried clams and heard that Harry's was the place to go locally for fried whole belly clams. The inside of this place looks like the restaurant that time forgot. It literally could be right out of 1970. (Right down to the dirty unwiped table tops) The first thing that hit me was the prices. These prices were not too far under what you would pay at a Legal Seafood restaurant for take out fried clams. I thought for the price, these clams better be very plentiful and very good! What came out was so-so. I've had better ... I've had worse. Honestly, for a few bucks less than they charge at Harry's, I would go to the Picadilly Pub and get the same portion and have nicer ambiance better sides and better service. The clams were typical fried clams ... the oil didn't taste rancid like at some places but the portion wasn't as plentiful as I had hoped it would be. In fact, I would say it was kind of skimpy because the clams came on a mountain of french fries, making it look much bigger than it actually was. Certainly not worth the price. I can't knock the taste because they weren't bad tasting clams, just not as plentiful and cheap as I would have liked given the atmosphere. The chowder was gross. It tasted like it had been sitting all day and was way too thick, almost like a white gravy you would put on country fried steak with lots of potatoes and hardly any clams. Skip that. I had a milkshake, which was great. Harry's offers milkshakes and ice cream sodas, which again goes with the retro vibe. Unfortunately, the fact that they serve ice cream also brings another problem to Harry's. Crowds of foul mouthed teenagers sit in the booths and scream obscenities at each other in groups. I must have heard the F-Word 10 or 15 times in about 20 minutes from the group of teens at the table next to me. There was another table of loud teens a few tables down as well. This place might be a good place to take the families for cheap burgers and fries, if not for all the teenage groups hanging around having X Rated conversations. In terms of the lobster roll ... skimpy! The best place in town for a lobster roll is JPs in the TJ Maxx Plaza. You literally get double (maybe even triple) the lobster meat there for less money. Also, the JPs lobster roll doesn't have as much of a mayonaisey sauce to disguise the flavor of lobster as Harry's does. If you do end up going to JPs for the Lobster Roll, for gosh sakes don't tell anyone about it because if you do, they will raise the prices. It is a real deal bargain ... Harry's not so much. This is a little roadside dive that I believe has got a reputation as 'the place' to go for fried clams due to the fact that it has been there for years and apparently hasn't changed one bit since then. I don't see anything special about the fried clams at this place (other than the fact that they serve them year round) and would much rather go to the Picadilly or drive 10 minutes to Legal Seafood in Natick than pay just as much or more at Harry's. I was very dissapointed with this because before going there ... I really did hope I had found my new clam place. If you want a kitchy, dirty hole in the wall 70s style diner for the sake of the 'retro' aspect or are shooting a movie about a small town dive restaurant ... this is a great place, if you don't mind sitting through a real life scene from Superbad because of all the potty mouthed teens. You won't be wowed at Harry's but you will get what you would at any other similar place. Another pain in the rump is that I don't believe they take credit cards. But I could be wrong about that ... the person who recommended it to me told me to bring cash, so I did.

I would have givein this a 5 star but the past few times I have been, our favorite waitress Mary was gone. What happened to Mary? She was so nice to us and she raved about how great the owner and his wife were to work for? SHe made us all feel like we were home for the holidays. What day is Mary there? Love the big belly plate.

Old School to the max! Harry's does it old school and keeps it simple. This is not health food people. The menu has a lot of fried seafood and offers mostly plates and sandwiches. It has a great breakfast menu as well. The wait staff was attentive and friendly. You had enough time to read the menu and decide what you wanted but didn't have to wait around for your waitress to take your order. The food itself was exactly as advertised. Despite being fried it was hot and had the taste of fresh made food. I had a chocolate frappe with my meal which was tasty and exactly how a well made frappe should be done. The only down side is that for a bare bones diner it is a bit pricy but that's a small price to pay for delicious food.

Great breakfast... my wife and I have started visiting Harry's on a weekly basis. The omelets are wonderful (stuffed with fresh ingredients) and the corned beef hash is the best I've had in the area (made with fresh corned beef and potatoes, not canned). Iced coffee has no free refills, but the hot coffee is bottomless. The fried seafood is fresh, and the servings are substantial for the price. The batter is relatively light, but it has little flavor and falls off pretty easily... look elsewhere if you like a more substantial or seasoned breading. The lobster rolls are pricy, but have a ton of meat for the money. Get one with sweet potato fries for a real treat. The cheese fries are wonderful, but don't go for the added chili -- it overwhelms the creamy cheese sauce. Beers include the standard Anheuser-Busch products and a seasonal Sam Adams offering, good for late night or those Sunday mornings where you need that hair of the dog.

I've lived in California for 25 years, and Arizona 6 years before that. So when ever I get back the first craving I have is for great chowdah (has to be Legal Seafood). But the next must-have is full-bellied, fried clams (bellies)! Harry's Diner is an icon on Rte 9 in Westborough, between Rte 135 and Rte 30 (closer to 30) on the north side. They have the biggest pile of bellies for the price ($17.95 for the big belly plate includes fries and slaw as of November 2008) I have ever had. If you know anything about clams they tend to be seasonal so November is a tough month. Well this year they were full and meaty! The breading is light and they are fried perfectly. The fish plate is also wonderful with nice big pieces of haddock. The frappes are blended just right so they are not too runny and not lumpy. For you west-coast readers a frappe is ice cream and milk, not just blended ice cream. They also have woopy pies! Try find THOSE outside of MA. for an adventure sit at the counter - which is REALLY low, but you get to talk with the gals behind it. Always a treat, and the place is always teaming with locals. The rest of their food looks great, but I always go for the clams.

When I go into a restaurant I just it based on ambience, food, and service. Upon entering Harry's you know immediately that this is a family run restaurant. I went in just after noon on a Monday and it was full of young families, older folks, and seniors. The entire atmosphere feels of the early 70's with a lot of wood and interesting pictures on the wall. I had pre called my order based on reviews from Yelp. I walk up to the register and the waitress (early 40's) who is cashing out another customer is struggling to figure out the change. She looks up to me and asks "what is 25+10?" I am actually speechless at the absurdity of the question but she seemed nice and eventually figured out the change. I tell her I placed my order not more than 5 minutes earlier on the phone and would like to pay if that would be ok. She said it was fine. As I am waiting another waitress approaches her and (while thinking she was whispering) looked over at me and asked "is he all set?" to which the waitress I was dealing with affirmed that I was already taken care of. Something about that second waitresses look bothered me but I let it go. A third waitress who is going to pick an order up from the window walks by and exclaims "is your watch big enough?" is a very loud voice. I think she thought she was being funny but that innocuous questions set up the perfect storm for feel uncomfortable. The waitress who was originally helping me leaned over to look at the watch and exclaimed "that is a big watch! He looks like that guy, from that TV show...something of love". Let's pause here for a minute because I watch VH1 as a guilty pleasure and love their reality shows (if you can call them that). I know all of the main characters, etc and I do not, in any way resemble them. Mind you, the entire restaurant is now watching this interaction. The first waitress continues talking to me, "you know who I'm talking about, that guy, that guy with the big clock..." To which I respond somewhat disgusted "Flavor Flav". She smile and says "Yes, you're him just incognito." I literally hear one or two giggles from the other diners. Now, through this story I have not mentioned that fact that I am a black man. I was wearing a French cuffed white shirt with the sleeves rolled up, grey slacks, and glasses. My watch is a Breitling Datora Montbrillant and one of my favorite watches; also I pulled up in a Mercedes. I say all of this to explain how unlike Flavor Flav I am. At this point I am feeling uncomfortable and embarrassed. If I had not already paid for my food I would have left. Judging by the clientele and location I get that I may not be in their target demographic but a customer should never feel put upon or made to feel uncomfortable. This experience ruined my time as the food would have been 3 stars. The clam strips were tough but the fish and chip was a cooked perfectly. The haddock was flaky goodness covered by a crust with substance. The fries and coleslaw were average at best. Will I give this place another look? No, I would not because while I can deal with a cook having a bad/off day I cannot deal with service that does not place a priority on making each customer feel both comfortable and satiated.

Clams 35 miles from the ocean? I was skeptical. Seven years later I'm still eating them. I grew up in Newport, RI, ate my share of clams from Maine to Florida, Harry's serves a decent plate. They also have Fishermen's platters and various combos, shrimp, fish, scallops, etc.. I have had quite a few breakfast here elbow to elbow with the truck drivers that frequent this joint. No complaints. They serve Chicken livers with onions and Beef liver with bacon and onions, I realize those may not be everyone's favorite but they are two of mine. * Established 1946 * Whole clams with belly or strips. * Sierra Nevada Pale and Sam Adams on tap, 22 and 16 oz. * The prices are a tad high for a diner but it is quality food. * Cheesy Fries and Sweet potato fries. * Burgers and deli sandwiches are a good choice. * Matzo Ball soup * Men's room has an outside entrance, a bit of hassle when it's cold. * cash only they have an ATM w/ $2 service fee.

Clams, fish and chips, clam chowder, fries with gravy, I could go on and on. Great service. Great food. Don't forget a raspberry lime-rickey for that extra sugar kick. Been going here 20 years hope to go at least another 20!

I used to come here for lunch when I worked in Hopkinton, and now I wish I lived nearer. The best thin-battered onion rings on earth, served in a converted gas station (That's why the men's room is outside). Harry's is some kind of a time warp. I can't comment on the Zippyburgers, since I'm no fan of fried salami, but I've had some great fried clams and fish and chips without chips (got to have the rings instead!) here. Waitresses can be endearingly brusque at Harry's, and there can be a wait to be seated, but it's worth it for the food and the slightly wacky ambiance. And the lime rickeys. Sit at the counter! Don't ever change, Harry's.

No free refills on soda, and they even have a sign apologising for that??? Pros: *great breakfast special *good club sandwiches *good fish fry Cons: *prices high for a diner *service slow unless you're a 'regular' *no free refills on soda *cash only (high-fee ATM on site) *skimpy with tarter sauce *beer not terribly cold

I stopped in here for breakfast while my husband was taking a class in Southborough. It has a very standard diner breakfast menu, and my "big bite" breakfast was decent. The Big Bite comes with two pancakes or french toast, two eggs, bacon, sausage, juice, and coffee. I thought this was pretty reasonable for less than $7. It reminds me a little of a truck stop or somewhere from my hometown (in West Virginia). That being said, it's decent if you're hungry and in the area. Their pies looked pretty good, but unlike the table next to me, I wasn't going to have dessert with my breakfast. Well, today anyway.

Service ... leaves a lot to be desired. The fried things are so lightly battered it almost feels like it's not unhealthy! Almost being the key word. The clams were like a slice of heaven.

This place is your typical dated diner, but with great comfort food. They serve breakfast all day long and I've never had a bad meal here. Oddly enough the men's room is outside........

It's a great for tasty seafood and shakes. The portions are large and service is very good. The wait can be long but it is worth it.

This is one of my favorite restaurants. The food and atmosphere are very casual. Their comfort food is very yummy, and they also serve breakfast any time. My favorite menu item is the mac and cheese- it is the best I've had. I also love the funny hand-painted posters of clams doing different things that decorate the walls.

If you get tired of all the fast food joints and big chain restaurants, then this is the place for you. A unique old school diner that used to be a gas station way back in the day. There's not many places like that these days. Harry's have pretty much everything you could think of on the menu, and it's always very tasty. For a small business it's extremely popular. The staff know me by name and are always friendly. Only thing is that they don't accept credit cards, so have some cash on you.

It's what you would expect from a dinner. Consistant good grill/fried food. Tight booths and a counter.

You gotta love the fact that there's a bona fide diner in this area and Harry's fits the bill. The seafood is great--especially the fried clams and lobster roll--and you'll find all of the comfort foods you grew up with as well: mac and cheese, burgers, old fashioned floats and ice cream sundaes on its expansive menu. We have always found the service to be good, it's open late, and easy to get to. A definite place to try!

Breakfast was a flop. They do redeem themselves with their clams (I certainly would not say best clams around- maybe best in Westborough) and chocolate shakes. But, the entire place is WAY overpriced for what it is.

Comfort food to the MAX! Our friends from Shrewsbury took us here and we went there not knowing what to expect. The place was awesome I had the "special" Beef Stew and it was incredible. Hearty, tasty, and flavorful. I also had the most AMAZING pie there!! If you have the pleasure of being in this area check this place out!!

Rob S.
I don't get there often but when I do, I always love the food. The menu is extensive and the frappachino shakes are awesome. From fried and baked seafood to pastas, to comfort foods like pot roast and meatloaf, they have it all and they'll give you a lot of it. JM S.: honestly, I'm sure they were just funning with you. To some people, black with a big watch is halfway to Flav.

I'm a native of the Boston area, but am now living in Dallas. I very muchly miss fresh clams, esspecially Harry's which were the best I ever had! The restaurant has a very firendly and laid-back atmosphere, and is great for people of all ages. I highly reccomend paying the fine folks at Harry's a visit when you're in their neck of the woods.

Great throwback diner style place. Onion rings to die for. comfort food all over the place. Breakfast foods all the time. Is there better, yeah. Cheaper, yeah. but sometimes you just NEED Harry's.

Harry's is the best "counter" restaurant out there. The food is real, home made comfort kind of food. It's always good. The soups are home made and outrageous. Absolutely delicious matzo ball soup. Decadent fried sea food. I love the open face turkey sandwich. The pies are delicious. Seriously, do not miss the omelet with chili inside. You can get a Sam Adams there! yay!! Now, if you're looking for ambiance, you should consider that the building is probably 50 years old and hasn't been updated or changed. The seats, counter and booths all seem original. So does the wall art (although they've added a flat screen tv that seems oddly out of place). The waitresses are likely to refer to you as "hon" or "sweetie." I sometimes expect someone to tell me to kiss their grits. For the money, this place cannot be beat, but bring cash! No credit cards!

When I'm having an extra crappy day at work, I try to make the mile trek down the road to Harry's for lunch. Life somehow seems so much better when you're enjoying a nice portion of fried clam strips or a yummy sandwich. The service is okay, the food comes out pretty quickly and for the most part they at least seem to understand when you need an in-and-out lunch situation. The Boston area would be better served if Harry's opened up some additional locations not so far out in the boondocks. But I will take what I can get!

I had the fish and chip special and it was delicious. I think it's worth $10 or so for a fried fillet of fish over fries. My hubby had the fish and chip with fried clam strips for $17.99 and in my opinion it wasn't worth to get about a half dozen fried clams...but he really like eating the fried clams...I haven't tried any of their non seafood entries but I should expand and explorer...

Harrys has been here for decades. I have fond memories of coming here for fried clams. The clams are still good. If you go there, you need to get the clams. The plates seem to be the same ones they have been using for years, maybe I am wrong. I really don't have anything besides the clams so I can't tell you how the other stuff is, but their clams are good.

This place is a CAN'T MISS! You can find something that meets your needs. The salads are fresh- and they will make things to your liking. It is small -- so you may have to wait. This is a place I used to go when my husband and I were dating- so I am a bit nostalgic.... Enjoy!

Harry's has the best friend clams around. They are opened late and never disappoint. They are cash only though so make sure to bring your paper money.

The food is good -- some greasy fried favorites, some less greasy favorites, and then the occasional more gourmet surprise special -- apricot stuffed pork loin or blue cheese strawberry spinach salad or something. There's ice cream, and they're patient when groups of 20 of us come in late after dancing. One complaint is that the bill is always a dollar or to within what we think it should be, but often the individual items don't quite line up, and it's hard to figure out what's going on between the hand-written order slip and the non-computerized cash register receipt. But the food's so cheap that we just don't worry about it, we grab a copy of the menu, everyone puts in what they think they owe including tip, and the total comes out fine. But it's something to keep in mind when going with a large crowd of pedantic types -- they need to let it go!

I don't understand what people see in this place. My girlfriend and I both got the "Harry's Great One" and it should be renamed to the "Lousy One". We spent the day at the beach and were jonesing come seafood. The "Great One" came with haddock, scallops, calamari, and bellies...and all of it tasted the same. There was no seafood taste to it what so ever. The seafood could have not of been fresh at all because it tasted like it came out of a frozen box. Also, the service totally sucked. The server was catching butterflies. Took forever to get drinks, our meals, and the check. If I were anyone reading this review, I would go up to Cheng Du's instead, it's a stone's throw from this wretched "restaurant."

I'm originally from California and was visiting some relatives in Westboro. My whole life I've seen the clam with feet on route 9 and was always curious what the food was like there. Finally I convinced my mom to let me eat there and try the fried clams. I got the strips and they were superb - the coleslaw was great and the fries were pretty good. The next time I ate there I got a lobster roll, undeniably the best lobster roll I've ever had in my life - all claw meat and the onion rings were stuff dreams are made of. My final visit to Harry's I got to try their lobster/crab bisque - it was rich and creamy and delicious, additionally I got the combo seafood plate which was a great assortment of fried delights. The haddock was meh, the shrimp was so-so, but the scallops were the star. Make sure to get the lime rickey for a summery treat. Next time I'm on the east coast I'll definitely be coming back.

I am also a fan of Harry's clams. Never a bad clam in my bunches of times there. I love their clam cartoon - for some reason I always think of Alice in Wonderland's little clam segment in a coloring book I had as a little girl. Fond memories, great food, excellent service, sometimes you have to wait because of their popularity but HARRY's is WORTH THE WAIT! They have great comfort foods as well, turkey, burgers, and yummy chowda!

I love Harrys ! Everytime I came to home the Mass it was the first place I went to. No one can beat Harrys belly plates, milk shakes and onion rings. Its a New England tradition where all the good old people meet . For the amount of business they do the service is good and fast..Long live Harrys!!

Decent service. The only food part I enjoyed was the frappe I had with my meal, but the meal itself wasn't good at all. Not planning on going again. Plenty of better places around.

(5)Dan P.
(4)Wm C.

(5)Doug M.
(3)Cindy H.
(2)Thomas S.
(4)Charles T.
Way to expensive for paper plates and plastic forks, they charge u for everything and they only take cash!
(2)Alicia G.
(5)Kevin B.
Been coming here since I was a kid,it's seen better days new booths ,maybe that's why the prices are crazy for a diner ,food is ok small portions for what you pay..service is friendly and still good or else would have given 2 stars.
(3)Jay A.
(3)Sonya A.
Fresh and friendly! Little diner family style setting with draft beer... Homemade chicken tenders and burgers for the kids; loaded lobster roll and calamari platter for the adults. It was great.
(5)Bonnie S.
Fabulous food, great prices, friendly attentive waitress. The best fried clams I have ever had, and I have had them at a lot of places.
(5)William F.

My favorite place for breakfast!! The staffs they are so nice, love this place, the food it's so good. I recommend them!!!
(5)Dave M.
(4)Amy S.
Having grown up on Cape Ann and now living in Metrowest, I have been on the search for a good clam roll. Harry's didn't disappoint! Delicious, not overly greasy. Keeping me from 5 stars is the lack of outdoor seating.
(4)Bob M.
(4)Roger T.
Just your average diner. Staff is super friendly. Seafood prices are higher than average, breakfast food is typical uninspiring breakfast food. Not too sure why this place is often busy - most likely because of their high visibility RT9 location and the fact that there's NO breakfast places around there.
(3)Charley T.
Nice restaurant for lunch. The waitress are nice and friendly. The price is little expensive for lunch but it's local and small business. Only problem is the men restroom is outside of restaurant. The men restroom look like gas station, but it's clean and smell clean. The females restroom is inside of the restaurant.
(3)Carrie R.
Great seafood and homemade desserts! Great service and cool diner atmosphere. Wish there were more like Harry's in the world.
(5)Terry B.
(4)Reid F.
There was a time when this place was pretty good, but unfortunately, that time has passed. It's now just mediocre food that is priced too high for a place that's cash-only and you have to go outside to use the men's room.
(2)Al N.
Mac and cheese, gotta try it. Seems like a mom and pop operated restaurant. Had to find a place off 90 around 9pm and as still open, this was it. I was pleasantly surprised. I would like to go back someday and try the fried fish. They kept coming out the window with it and it looks huge!
(5)Darien R.

Terrible! Worst fried clams EVER! Super expensive and skimpy portions.
(1)Steve B.

Stopped in for a quick breakfast and was amazing service and food. Great clam chowder, frappes, and burgers!

I have been going to Harry's for 40 years and it is still my Resturant of choice. Most everything is made from scratch and tastes GREAT! Sue makes some of the best desserts and Andrew makes the best sloppy Joe with home made chips mmmmm good!
(5)Julia Marie R.
And again.
(5)Sara F.

Never again will I eat here what a rip off
(1)Michael R.
(2)Matt L.
What a great little place. Very friendly staff. You can't beat their breakfast specials. So much food given to you.
(5)Dayla R.

(5)Theo B.
One of my favorites. a good local hang out and the last place u would think to find great seafood and/or diner food the only problem some find the fact that the business is a cash only one but don't worry they have An ATM Harry's serves breakfast all day and the waitstaff is very quick and considerate. overall great place.
(5)Rebecca G.
Whenever we visit Massachusetts from New Jersey we stop at Harry's. It is one of the best small diamonds in the rough of Massachusetts. The food is delicious and has many choices for everyone in the family. Love this restaurant!!
(5)Yana A.
Going to Harry's restaurant was an "ok" experience. Outdated decor didn't bother me, but overpriced ($52 lunch for two) greasy fare didn't sit too well with me. The staff was friendly and professional, but that's not enough for me to ever come back.
(3)Carla S.
They only get two stars because the place looked real dates. It smelled awful and the food was bland and tasteless. The service was excellent.
(2)Dick K.
(5)jerry d.
OMG! We were visiting from Phoenix. What a find. We had the fried clams. "Big Belly" I believe its called. Best fried clams ever, great price. We will go there again next time we are up. Got one of those "fried is a food group" t-shirts. ha. I will wear it to my next doctor appointment.
(5)Teresa T.
This is a great little diner for breakfast or lunch. Cute atmosphere, very friendly service, and great "greasy spoon" fare. Worth stopping by!
(4)Litstar C.
The service was good, but the food weren't... We had chowder and fried clams. The clams were ok, but the chowder was a big disappointment, it's the worst I had on my trip to Boston.
(3)Brent H.
(2)Silpa S.
(3)D G.
Have been going to Harry's since 1982. ALWAYS excellent Fried Belly Clams and Onion Rings. Although we now live in NJ we go at least 4 times a year. I am so glad the reviewer "DJ" wont be back as there will be one less waiting in line for an empty table.
(5)Rob M.
This place is always busy. I've been going here since I was a little kid. I love the clams and lime rickeys. This place is a landmark.
(5)P S.
I used to love it here for breakfast but they revised the menu (very limited) and jacked up the prices a lot. Always loved the service there, but I wont be going back. There are better alternatives in the area.
(2)Benjamin F.
(5)Dawn E.
HA!
(4)Richard D.
Unbelievable lobster roll. Super friendly old-school type place but excellent food. Also has great pies for desert.
(5)Mike L.
(3)Jef D.
Food was excellent. The restaurant was a bit small and dated but the place was extremely busy. The only drawback with the place is that eccepts cash only and no refills on soda. Service was good. The entrees are priced well and have good size portions.
(4)Ross G.
(5)Nathan R.
(5)George L.
Although my wife liked fish chowder, lobster rolls were not very good. They were good sized but had little lobster taste, and salty as if the lobsters had been sitting in brine instead of fresh. Charged me 4 for an upgrade from fries to rings.
(1)Erik W.
(3)Amanda M.
(4)Brian S.
(4)Grace S.
Classic dinner! Don't be scared! The waitresses are super nice!
(3)Evelyn P.
(4)Ron J.
(4)Seth D.
(3)Melissa K.
(1)Dave F.
Love this place!!! Full belly clams & scallops with onion rings and coleslaw. Always good and it was a lunch time special for under $10.00 Has all the great desserts too PIES with ice cream. To full this time but next time maybe we will eat in reverse. Waitstaff fun and friendly.
(5)Steve R.
(3)Paul N.
(4)Ak G.
went for ice cream sundaes on Saturday night at 9:30pm - Great Sundaes, great prices - a real hold-over kind of place with teens working the tables. Relax a bit and have fun with this place. They DO have an ATM for those not understanding why it's cash only. Fish and Chips looked great going by. Sat at the counter on stools and it was just right. And it's actually open until 2AM!
(5)C J.
(4)Phoebe L.
The greatest restaurant in the world. When I come to Massachusetts I make a bee line for Harry's! The waitresses are AWESOME and compassionate. They are even nice to my Mother!!! Harry's rules!!!!!!
(5)Elizabeth T.
(1)Kenneth Y.
(5)Art M.
(2)Melissa D.
Yuck.
(1)Julia L.
(4)Jessica R.
(4)Aleks D.
If your wife is pregnant and wants drench toast at 730pm this is the only place around....and it's good!
(4)Michael W.
(3)Edward B.
Awesome place....best lobster roll in town (JPs is a close second). On a quiet Monday night, I went in, sat at the bar, and immensely enjoyed the lobster roll and fried bellies. The best. Period.
(5)Andy B.
(4)Jesse G.

Great fried seafood as always!

Brownie Fiesta. Comfort.

(4)Andrew H.

(4)Nathen S.
Clams, fish and chips, clam chowder, fries with gravy, I could go on and on. Great service. Great food. Don't forget a raspberry lime-rickey for that extra sugar kick. Been going here 20 years hope to go at least another 20!
(4)Claude G.
(4)Southboro R.
(2)Nicole P.
(3)Ellen L.
Service ... leaves a lot to be desired. The fried things are so lightly battered it almost feels like it's not unhealthy! Almost being the key word. The clams were like a slice of heaven.
(3)Dave C.
This place is your typical dated diner, but with great comfort food. They serve breakfast all day long and I've never had a bad meal here. Oddly enough the men's room is outside........
(4)Matt C.
It's a great for tasty seafood and shakes. The portions are large and service is very good. The wait can be long but it is worth it.
(4)Christina P.
(4)Darren T.
(5)William S.
It's what you would expect from a dinner. Consistant good grill/fried food. Tight booths and a counter.
(3)Esther S.
(5)DeeJay H.
Breakfast was a flop. They do redeem themselves with their clams (I certainly would not say best clams around- maybe best in Westborough) and chocolate shakes. But, the entire place is WAY overpriced for what it is.
(2)Alex U.
(5)Rob S.
(4)Alex P.
(5)B R.
Great throwback diner style place. Onion rings to die for. comfort food all over the place. Breakfast foods all the time. Is there better, yeah. Cheaper, yeah. but sometimes you just NEED Harry's.
(4)Frank S.
(5)Diane D.
(3)Kupkake K.
(5)Byron M.
(4)Renata C.
This place is a CAN'T MISS! You can find something that meets your needs. The salads are fresh- and they will make things to your liking. It is small -- so you may have to wait. This is a place I used to go when my husband and I were dating- so I am a bit nostalgic.... Enjoy!
(5)Gary B.
Harry's has the best friend clams around. They are opened late and never disappoint. They are cash only though so make sure to bring your paper money.
(4)Sara P.
(5)Maciej B.
(1)Devin A.
(4)Donna D.
(4)Ladyjane S.
I have to give props to my favorite hometown establishments. Harry's totally has addictive 5-star fried clams and awesome fish & chips! I loooove Harry's!
(5)Alicia B.
I love Harrys ! Everytime I came to home the Mass it was the first place I went to. No one can beat Harrys belly plates, milk shakes and onion rings. Its a New England tradition where all the good old people meet . For the amount of business they do the service is good and fast..Long live Harrys!!
(5)Harry H.
Decent service. The only food part I enjoyed was the frappe I had with my meal, but the meal itself wasn't good at all. Not planning on going again. Plenty of better places around.
