Very popular lunch spot. Lines are long, but orders are taken quickly and sandwiches are made lightning fast. The Large Isabella is definitely a good choice. Thanks Yelpers for the recommendation!

Huh. Well, I want to give it two stars. But the reviews are just so high I feel like three is low enough to make the statement. The pasta salad had gross canned olives in it. Actually gross. Other than that it was fine. The sandwiches that everyone is raving about had just a ton of bread. That's not my thing. Maybe it's yours. Honestly I just really dislike sandwiches that aren't hot, toasted, with melty bits. If you do, then you will probably like the sandwiches here. But they are not for me. The salad was fine. It was lettuce and some other things. I'm wondering if all the good reviews have to do with all the people who see this as their special neighborhood place. Or if I just didn't order well. Or if I am missing some core piece of What the Linden Store Is. Ultimately I don't really care. Mediocre at best. Moving on, to better food.

The staff here are probably the most friendly, helpful staff I have ever encountered. I've gone here with my friends as well as ordered pick up for my company. Sandwiches are amazing. When I call in orders for the company they are so helpful and cheerful on the phone, and have the order ready to go when I arrive. Coffee is good too. The only negative thing I have to say about this place is that it is often too crowded! Again, the staff deals with the lunch rush well and always manages to keep the line moving quickly. I highly recommend this place!

Best sandwiches I've ever had! Love the family mom&pop atmosphere. An old school local gem! My favorite is the cape codder chicken salad sandwich - white meat, walnuts, cranberries, lettuce -- delicious! Other favorites are the hot pastrami, mixed meat, turkey club, and italian. Don't live in Swells anymore, but often find myself craving a Linden sub!

They have the best sandwiches , good quality, good prices; convenient location. All of the local students go here

Just. Good. Sandwiches. I find that those are surprisingly quite hard to find. The Linden Store makes perfectly prepared sandwiches, with fresh, high-quality ingredients. Their menu offers up sandwich creations, like the Italian, which my husband got (adding on basil and hot peppers). You can also make your own sandwich, like I did; turkey with pretty much every topping they have to offer. Both were ordered on their baguette bread option. The baguettes offered the perfect vehicle for the delicious sandwich innards, with a crispy exterior that holds up to even the most overly-stuffed wich. Service at The Linden Store was top-notch, from the exceedingly friendly man who took my takeout order over the phone, to the excellent service I received while picking up my order. So hard to find, especially when ordering take-out. And, while inside picking up my order, it seemed like everyone else was enjoying that friendly attitude too. I almost felt like I was inside a movie version of a sandwich shop. As this place is less than 3 miles from my work, I look forward to many, many more stops here on the way home. If only I can make it home before devouring my sandwiches.

If I could eat lunch here everyday I would. One of my biggest regrets is not discovering this place while I was at Wellesley, though my wallet and waist may thank me. I would plan my workday around being able to make it here for lunch before noon so the line wasn't too crazy, though even when it is it moves quickly. I'm so impressed by the staff's ability to take orders quickly and always manage to get them correct even though they write nothing down. This is a quick moving quick turnaround line, so know your order before you get to the counter. Everything I have had here has been amazing, anything with prosciutto is a great choice, though the specials are always delicious. If you can, try and get some peanut butter cookies, they are amazing! I'm going to have to take a trip out to Wellesley just for another sandwich!

We rolled in on a recommendation of a shop salesperson. And it was awesome. A family business that has been around for 80+ years. The owner is so great. Friendly service. Wonderful sandwiches. Love. Love. Love this place.

Linden never disappoints. From the Dude Ranch to the Abby Rose to the Isabella, all their sandwiches are served on delicious bread, have the most fresh ingredients, and will fill you up in the best way. The oreo mudslide is one of my favorite treats when its hot out (or if its cold because its just plain delicious) and they also have great homemade soup and yummy breakfast sandwiches. If you are considering coming here for a meal, the answer is simply yes you must.

It's a really nice sandwich spot. The food is tasty, the location is nice and you can sit outside of the weather is nice, it's not my favorite sandwich stop in Wellesley but it's definitely up there.

They don't make places like this anymore: literally and figuratively. The place is still organized like a lunch counter of yesteryear. Some aura of the past still lingers; something comfortable and friendly permeates the air: high school kids laugh and chow down on their sandwiches, senior citizens glance up from their paper every so often to crack a smile and give an approving nod as new patrons trickle in... Regulars chit-chat with employees, making wise cracks about the daily drudge of the work day... the place feels more like someone's kitchen than anything. Normally, I don't bother spending this much time writing about ambiance, but I must say I do think this place really emits some weird, homey, 50's-like nostalgic vibe I kind of like. Enough with the candid aside.. if anyone is still reading, on to the food! Providing good food to good people isn't really that hard, you just have a give a shit... and this place cares deeply about the workers and ingredients. Kind, happy, skillful workers + quality ingredients = tasty shit. This place offers a bevy of delectable meats, cheeses, toppings and breads to satisfy the most discriminating consumer. This place takes pride in their food, which unfortunately is becoming more and more rare these days. You won't get a bad sandwich, you might even strike up an interesting conversation with one of the regulars. Seriously, pop in and give this place a try if you're in the neighborhood.

Where to begin.... 1) the meats are sliced fresh for each order 2) quality is top notch 3) you can customize anything on the menu without a sigh or roll of the eyes 4) they are super fast (don't be fooled by the long line) Cult classic not to be missed!

Used to love Linden before recent renovations and as as a high school kid. Now comparing prices to other sub shops in Boston, Linden seems pretty average, and maybe even sub-par when you end up paying $2-3 more for a large sub just because you're in Wellesley. Don't get me wrong I'll eat a hot Italian, but it got substantially slower to make the sandwiches after they did the renovations, and the lines are still just as long. Used to go there a lot and it was my place, now it's just another sandwich shop. Hope it ends up being the gem it used to be after they readjust to the changes.

Me and my wife (my wife ran the Boston marathon the day before.) we're visiting form Utah. We had one more lunch to get in before we went home. We loved this place, if and when we come back to Boston we will be going back. I got the the dude ranchon on wheat and my wife got the hot Italian, we both loved them.

Big things are happening here ,after more than a half a century this place expanded .Now you can spread out, order in comfort, and there is more seating .The same people prepare your subs ,and there is always a friendly greeting when you arrive .I suppose after about 50 years ,they know me .I told one of the owners, with such loyalty ,they ought to name a sandwich after me .Anyway the bottom line is ,they still have outstanding subs ,their rolls are fantastic ,which is half the battle .After all if you have lousy rolls ,you have a lousy sandwich .No the high quality is still there and it has never deviated .This fall I was on Hilton Head Island and there is a franchised sub place called Mikes from NJ . I ate there twice and I was scratching my head with what is so special about this sub ,nothing ,the rolls were very ordinary .I think if Linden Deli ever wanted to franchise they would take off .So as of now it has become a destination especially for Wellesley .It's always good and although the place has changed within the family ,they have kept up the quality .Bottom line if you haven't eaten here you haven't had an outstanding sub.

Best sandwiches in the area. My family and I have been getting sandwiches and wraps here my whole life. I just went recently and tried The Kaitlyn sandwich, which I don't know why I haven't tried before because it is by far the best thing on their menu!! The amount of prosciutto they put on the sub alone makes this sandwich a home run, and with the combination of balsamic, roasted red peppers, thick slices of mozzarella, and fresh basil- my mouth is watering just thinking about it. It comes on an awesome baguette which is the perfect texture. Another great sandwich is the pilgrim and if you're looking for a lighter option the hummus wrap is great. Expect a line out the door on the weekends- so busy, and for good reason!

I love The Linden Store. I work in the Linden Shopping Plaza and it's difficult (or impossible) to find good food in this area. I love their sandwiches, they have a ton of options which I really appreciate as I am a picky eater, and I have unique tastes. The people who work there are very nice, there is one guy who likes to say "no" to everything, but other than that everyone else is very accommodating. I only gave them 4 stars because they are only open until 4-5pm, so I always have to set reminders in my phone to order food before they close. Wish they were open until at least 6! It's okay though, the food is perfect so it's worth it. I like that it's a family owned business, and you definitely get a family-feel when you walk in. In addition, their large iced coffees are huge and only $3! Very happy with the quality of food and drinks.

Best sandwhichs you will find in Wellesley. I went here becaise it was recommend so much so I went and git the blt and it was amazing they dobt hold back on the bacon. Then I went to a party a couple days later and tried the isabella and turkey stuffing and cranberry sauce sandwhich. Then when I was going through wellsley and got a blt and ordered the catering of sandwhiches. This is a must have sandwhich shop.

This my friends is what a deli should be, a family owned establishment, that makes your sandwich when you order it, not a fast food, pre cut throw it in the microwave fake deli. The staff is friendly, always seem happy to be at work. The quality of the food is excellent. Came here on the recommendation of friends and at their insistence, i first tried the Gobbler and haven't looked back. It is a delicious mix of turkey, stuffing and cranberry sauce. If you're in the area, you can't go wrong stopping in here. FYI-They also serve breakfast sandwiches here!!

  • Brian D.

The Linden Store is exactly what all sandwich places should be: good bread, freshly cut meats, generous portions and a few interesting specials. It's decently priced and a little out of the way, but the sandwiches are worth a trip from miles away. The Linden Special, and Italian combo with a terrific relish of red and green peppers is excellent, and the hot pastrami will live up to all but the most demanding of pastrami lovers. While they aren't really doing anything to remake my expectations of what a sandwich can be, they are setting the bar high for any place that wants to serve you lunch.

    (4)
  • Steve B.

Consistently excellent sandwiches. The best deli in the area. I usually have the Linden Special. Even when busy the line moves very quickly. Wednesday lunchtimes can be a hassle due to half-day schoolkids crowding the place. Some negative reviews about lack of seating/business, but they're recently expanded the seating and counter area, so that should improve (if you really expect to have a spacious, leisurely dining experience in a sandwich shop, which seems a bit unreasonable to me...).

  • Amanda P.

As much as I love the food here the hours of operations are so absurd that it's difficult for me to even enjoy a meal here. I walked into the store five minutes before closing to get some sandwich meat to go for my home and they had already wrapped the meats and shut everything off so I couldn't even purchase anythung, all while leaving the stores lights on and door unlocked. I really enjoy the food here, but I cannot get past the fact that their hours or so on accommodating to their customers.

I hosted a lunch meeting at my home recently and ordered food from The Linden Store. I had never tried them and relied on Yelp to guide me. Thankfully my fellow Yelpers steered me in the right direction. Ordering was easy peasy. I called and the owner himself took my order. I pretty much said "I have 14 people total and 2 are vegetarians. What should I get?" He put together a lovely sub tray (that came with a fancy card explaining what was in the 4 different sandwiches) along with a bowl of green salad and a bowl of potato salad. My guests were VERY pleased with the lunch. It was the perfect amount of food and everyone commented on how fresh and tasty the food was. The potato salad was a big hit. I would definitely order from them again and I plan to lunch there with family soon!

Absolutely love this place I eat here multiple times a week after school. They close at 5:30 and are always busy. Please get the Isabella sandwich: prosciutto, mozzarella, and arugula. It is so so good get it almost every time I am there.

  • Amy M.

Good if you're craving a sandwich, bad if you're looking for a sit-down lunch. You'll need to fight your way through the crowd and navigate the menu boards, and will never find a place to sit and comfortably eat your sandwich. On the upside, you can find a pretty good variety of sandwiches for the typical deli store, and the meats/cheeses always seem fresh.

My FAVORITE place for lunch in Wellesley. Been going here for the past 20 years and have never had a less than amazing dining experience. Linden is always one of the first places I bring out of town guests. Worth a drive.

Wow.... Just moved to Wellesley. This morning went there with my hubby while car was fixed and the lady and the owner ..!!! So obviously charged an extra for a newspaper which a gentleman was looking in front of the table..!!!! What??!! I never seen that and seems like they charge that newspaper to everyone who is new! I really like Wellesley so far, but this store really made me not happy this morning... They BOTH looked so scared of me .. Of course cuz they knew they were lying to customer.. Just hope they do not do this to all lovely Wellesley people. Plz not...

I love the food here. It's always really fresh and my favorites are the chicken salad wrap and the buffalo chicken wrap. Delicious! Even when they are really busy the line moves very quickly and the staff is very warm and friendly. I go here at least once every two weeks, if not more.

Great sandwiches. I've only ever had the Linden Special but they all look to be on point. This particular sandwich is perfect. Great meat to bread ratio and all ingredients are of the highest quality. Reasonably priced and the staff is very nice.

Apparently I was too harsh while writing a past review for this place. They make good sandwiches, don't expect anything other than that. Avoid Wednesdays when the place is mobbed with middle schoolers. Don't expect to read any newspapers there, they got rid of all decent papers and kept on the Wellesley Townsman (terrible rag)

I would say that this is the best-kept secret in Metro-West, except it's so not a secret. This place is the bomb. Maybe it's the best-camouflaged joint in Metro-West? I mean, it looks so unassuming on the outside, brick and tasteful wood sign, just like everything else on Linden Street...but the moment you come through the door, you can perceive in so many ways that this place is very special. The visual is heartwarming. Lunch counter stools in chrome and vinyl. Cooler cases filled with drinks, salads, soups, and other house-prepared foods. Lots of people, but not cram-slammed with people - just a lot of folks patiently waiting for their orders, or enjoying their newspapers at one of two counters. I have never waited long; this is evidenced by the fact that I still haven't read through to the end of their hand-chalked, wall-to-wall deli and sandwich menu. You don't get that long to hang out and read, is why. Upon entering, my sense of smell is immediately engaged by delicious vinegar brine and fresh, chilled cold cuts. Baked sweet goods, fresh greens, beautiful bread and rolls, all of it a pleasure to my olfactory system. The staff is comprised of caring, kind people who have nary a negative word to say about anything or anyone. I've seen workers take extra time to light up a child's face on more than one occasion. They'll remember your order if you come in enough times. The size of the subs and sandwiches is very generous, and the cost is minimal. This sandwich shop is one of the best values in this part of the state. I always get a large and split it with my spouse (turkey club sub or the Thanksgiving sandwich, which has stuffing and cranberry sauce - and turkey - on it). I would go out of my way to eat here!

Great local deli. I'm a big fan of the "Hot Italian" but have not been disappointed by anything on the menu. The staff is friendly and helpful. You can also get a small or large sub, which is nice. Good selection of chips, drinks, side salad and fruit as well.

  • D K.

Yesterday it would have gotten a 5...today, it got a 1. How could the same sandwiches be a pleasure to eat one day and the next have a quarter of the meat and lacking the condiments? I dunno, but the employees at the Linden store managed this beautifully. Avoid the older lady....she is stingy on the meat. The younger girl working there is wonderful and certainly knows how to make a sub. I feel badly for giving the place 2 stars. They certainly can make a 5-star sandwich, just depends who's making it.

    (2)

The best sub shop in Wellesley and the surrounding suburbs. The bread is awesome and very fresh. Always packed but line goes quickly. Breakfast is served daily. Closed Sunday.

I found this spot by reading other Yelp reviews and if you haven't tried it you're missing out. We arrived at 11:30. My co-worker and I sat at the counter and Paulo was taking care of us. We started with a cup of the Pasta e Fagioli soup. We watched Paulo serve the pasta in the cup and then put the hot (very hot) soup over the pasta...fabulous idea because the pasta wouldn't be mealy/squishy from sitting in the soup for so long...the pasta still had that bite. The soup was delicious. I ordered the Crab salad sandwich based on the previous review from Hans P. on wheat bread and it was so fresh tasting and tasty. My co-worker ordered the Abby Rose which was also delicious. Paulo was very attentive and friendly while making other orders and taking care of us. As we were sitting at the counter, Paulo was making a Oreo shake for another customer and were talking about how good it probably is. Paulo gave us a taste which was super nice of him :)....the next time we are there, we will get a shake. It started getting crowded so you should get their early. They do make everything fresh on the spot...if you're looking for great service, great food and very reasonable price...you should stop by.

Great sandwich shop to grab a hot or cold sub. They also have wraps. Plenty of choices if you can't decide what you want that day. You can just walk in and stare at the wall of options and something will jump out at you. I am a big fan of the thanksgiving sub. Give it a try if you are in the area.

Everyone knows the linden sandwiches are best in town, in my opinion they are best anywhere... The shop is family owned which makes it so much better too. The owners are great and a lot of what they serve is home made.

  • Jennifer C.

I've never been to the Linden Store before and was very impressed. I was overwhelmed by the amount of choices so for today I just went with a boars head ovengold turkey grinder with american cheese, bacon, lettuce, tomato, mayo and brown mustard. Let me begin by saying that the only way to eat a grinder is with boar's head meat so that right there made me happy, not to mention the fact that they slice the deli meat fresh for each individual sandwich. The owners were very nice and for as crazy as the atmosphere was in there they seemed to have it all under control. I will definitely be back.

    (5)
  • Stephanie C.

Delicious! Omg. I always get the salami and cheese with mustard sub. It's so freakin' good! The deli is always so fresh and so isn't the bread. The people there are incredibly friendly. The place feels so homey too. I love it.

LOVE THIS PLACE!!!! You will not find a better lunch than at the Linden Store. The bread they use is so fresh and all their sandwiches are amazing! We love the Isabella, Dude Ranch and Turkey Subs. I have also used them for catering and they do an amazing jobs. At our event, I actually heard many people comment how these were the best sandwiches they had ever tasted. The owner and all the people who work there are so incredibly nice! If you are in the area...do not miss this place!!! You will become a regular.

    (5)
  • Will B.

Linden has the best sandwiches in Wellesley, hands down. Although they raised the prices of the subs, Linden consistently delivers the highest quality sandwiches I've ever had. The Dude Ranch sub is the best, in my opinion. The meat is cut daily and nothing ever feels out of place there. If you're in Wellesley, go to Linden. You won't be let down.

  • Brandon T.

Just dropped in and grabbed a sandwich and soup a yesterday. I must say that it was very tasty, i had the Italian sandwich with hot peppers and the corn chowder. The italian sandwich was really nice with a good ratio of meat and bread, and the hot peppers were a great addition. They fresh bake their bread and it really shows as it was a nice flaky piece in every bite. I can definitely see myself stopping in for future visits whenever I need a quick sandwich to go.

So we usually get the Linden Store sandwiches for catered Lunch and Learns at work, and they never disappoint. Today, I thought I'd actually go to the Linden Store and try something new, on my own, and it was great! It's a fast moving line, and the menu is extensive, but everything is sliced to order and made fresh. I had the Hot Italian on a large sub roll, and the everything was great, from the meats, to the tomatoes, to the bread. At 7.95, it is definitely a deal. They also have breakfast foods, which I haven't tried, coolers stocked with beverages, and chips for your sandwich. I've had many sandwiches from here, and I've never had one I didn't like - that says a lot. Give this place a try if you are in the area, you won't regret it. You will definitely find something in the menu that you'd like. Plus it's a deli, so if one of their specialty sandwiches doesn't tickle your fancy, build one yourself!

  • C D.

Literally every single sandwich here is a winner. The ones that are sure to please are the Dude Ranch, the Italian, the Hot Italian, and my personal favorite- The Honey Special (Make sure to ask for it on a sub roll!). You really can't go wrong here though so don't be afraid to try something new. And its not just a Lunch place! I've only ever been here a couple times for breakfast, but their breakfast sandwiches do not disappoint. I suggest the Landscaper.

Go at 11:30am and beat the rush. This store is EXCELLENT! Great food, great service (from Paulo). Get the Macaroni salad by Theresa, its exceptional. Also, try the oreo shake its delicious and pairs well with their sandwiches. Delicious meal!!

Freshest subs you will eat. They slice the meats/cheeses right onto the rolls.

I've been here numerous times, I can't believe I have not reviewed this! I absolutely love this place. Sure, the parking space can be sort of tight, and they are always crowded, so there is almost always a line especially during lunch hour, but their service has always been quick, I never had any complains about their service. The sandwiches is amazing! I havent tried their bkfast sandwiches yet, but I love their specialties, like the Isabella, the linden special, kaitlin, abby rose, greg's arugula special. They also have pickles which is crunchy and fresh (well for a pickle). I love that their slice their meat fresh when they make your sandwiches as well.

  • Saba N.

Yes my fellow yelpers, this is by far the best sandwich shop known to man. If you come here on the weekends, you will see a line of families waiting to get in.. and the line moves quick so not to fear. I have lived in the area my entire life and sadly only found out about this place after I left it. But I still come back on a monthly basis just for the Isabella (caprese) with prosciutto. oh my god. It's unbelievable. The meat is divine and the mozzarella is so fresh. I could eat it every day. I've also tried a few other sandwiches here and they are great too... but nothing compared to the Isabella. You definitely need to go check out this place. Do not walk, run! to the Linden Store. You will not be disappointed.

  • Allison R.

Maybe I'm lame for Yelping a place where I've only tried one item, but I feel this is okay for two reasons: 1) I have been consuming this concoction of sub goodness for the past eight years 2) The item in question is The Thanksgiving. What is the "Thanksgiving," you ask? A fabulous blend of deli turkey, stuffing (which oddly comes in rectangular strips), and cranberry sauce, with the optional lettuce, tomato, and mayo, served on a tasty sub roll. Yum. It hasn't changed in eight years, and I love it still.

  • Alicia S.

Had lunch from this place catered to my work yesterday for an office lunch. Everything was delicious! There were 5 different types of sandwiches, I got to try 2. The turkey with the stuffing and cranberry sauce is outstanding. I'm usually not a fan of cranberry sauce, but they put just enough in the sandwich to give it a little flavor of sweetness and not overpower the whole sandwich. The tortellini pasta salad was one of the best I've ever tasted. The cookies and brownies were fresh too. I'll definitely order from here again.

  • Zoe S.

Nice range of subs and wraps, but I have 4 favorites: -If you want something filling and warm, the meatball sub and the chicken parm are both excellent. -If you're just looking for a good sub (or something sweet and savory:) go for the Isabella, a caprese with prosciutto. -And finally, if you want a salad or a wrap, the grilled chicken wrap is what you need. It's pretty much a greek salad with chicken in a wrap.

As I was waiting for my car to get inspected by the people at the as station, I had the chance of getting a REALLY great sandwich at The Linden Store. It was about noon, and I kept seeing people coming in and out of the place, I mean a lot of people, I decided to give a try, and I was very, very please, and happy with the sandwich I got. I received a great service, quick and friendly, especially since I don't live in the area. Totally recommend it. Gracias, gracias.

There are two reviews from San Francisco Yelpers on this deli, which as a San Franciscan, I feel I can trust their foodie expertise. ;) And, indeed, my trust has paid off. The Linden Store has delicious food -- as mentioned, great breads, thinly sliced meats, a couple options for vegetarians, charming "old skool" atmosphere (stools and booths), very friendly and fast service, and a wide range of options -- including 3 sizes (and prices) for sandwiches, homemade soups, smoothies, and a kiddie menu. You can order via email (but still need to call for takeout), and an online menu make takeout easy. The prices are fabulous (the truly large sandwiches range in price from $5.85-$7.95). They have a great selection of chips, homemade cookies and brownies, and a wall of drinks. And, at the top of my list (after good food and good service) is that there's a parking lot. This is truly a hidden find!

    (5)
  • Helen C.

OMG, simply wonderful! The assortment of sandwiches and salads is amazing. Everything is yummy. They do a great job taking phone, fax and email orders. The only reasons I would not give this a perfect score is that the shop is so teeny, it is a mob scene to go at lunchtime and the parking lot is equally annoying.

I've been coming here since a little kid. The subs are some of the best around. The bread is fresh and soft, they have pretty much any type of sandwich you could want, and the deli meats/cheeses are good quality. Get the chocolate chip cookies at the register as you check out - you won't be disappointed. I just wish they were open Sundays!

Awesome sandwiches. Service so-so, but food makes up for it.

Don't be fooled by the name, The Linden Store is a deli and lunchtime hot spot that reaches back to days that were tinged sepia. The Linden Store clearly gets busy around lunch and on a day when it was unseasonably cold and rainy, the last thing anyone wants to do is wait in a line out the door. Fortunately, the deli is staffed with roughly 700 to 800 employees working behind the counters, making sandwiches, ringing up customers and directing traffic. Ok, maybe not that many people, but Linden did sort of resemble an organized group of rioters all intent on getting you fed. Like all good sandwich shops and delis, the menu at the Linden is huge offering a good mix of hot and cold subs ranging from turkey subs to four different club sandwiches. I'm going to go out on a limb and state that the deli might pride itself on its meatball sub. I haven't tried it yet (my sandwich shop test is always the pastrami) but the fact that it is listed as a special five out of six days a week leads me to believe it's probably pretty, well, special. In addition to the take-out crowd, there's a surprising amount of high top seating throughout the deli, which allows patrons to put that drive back to the office off for just a few more minutes while they enjoy their wrap, sub or sandwich. Plus, there is an HD TV playing SportsCenter. Finally, I have to mention the giant jar of pickles on the deli counter. The pickles are pure monstrosities, like the Cloverfield monster of pickles. Really, you can't miss them. And while I'm not a pickle person, I have it from a host of office mates that the pickles are, in fact, delicious.

Delicious. What can I say!?! They can make you anything you want, I love the "hot italian sub". Super affordable, I can get a large sub, chips and a drink for about $10. It can get super crazy around lunch time, but their service is usually pretty fast. You have to try it.

Chaotic at lunchtime but still rather organized. The sandwiches are pretty good, probably the best in the area, which is why it gets so crowded. Pros: everything is made to order, good selection Cons: their hours

I have eaten sandwiches all around the world, and still, nothing comes close to a Linden sub. They use fresh, soft bread, slice the meats to order and are still lightning fast, even when there is a line out the door. They are also family owned and operated, clean, consistent, friendly and supporters of the community. Highlights include: Hot Italian Greg's Arugala Special Linden Special Turkey Bacon Swiss Isabella but seriously, everything is superb.

The best sandwich shop in the area. Fresh, clean and efficient (no matter how busy they are). Top quality meats are sliced right in front of you. Isabella is by far my favorite sandwich. The owners (the old and the new) are always on site.

Great sandwiches with all fresh ingredients. Lots of good quality Italian staples to choose from. Really enjoyed my sandwich with fresh mozzarella, basil and prosciutto.

Well I wish I had time to sit down and enjoy my isabella in the store...but I didn't. I had them put some crushed red pepper to spice it up! I sunk my teeth into the sandwhich after I got the kids down for a nap, best idea ever. sweet silence over lunch. thanks to reading all of the amazing yelp reviews, I'll def be back in no time!

Yummy sandwiches, busy place, and clearly a local favorite. The Abby Rose was quite yummy -- grilled chicken, pesto, roasted red peppers, fresh mozzarella, mmmm -- and large enough for 2 lunches. Freshly-baked breads and a variety of drinks, etc. Good place to keep in mind for Saturday lunches in the 'burbs.

As a newcomer and amateur to the wonderful town of wellesley, for all my opinion is worth, i think the shop is awesome. It's definately doing its own thing, keeping its food simple, fast and with made with good quality ingredients. Great place to stop by for a quick bite on a nice summer day.

Wellesley's best deli for delicious sandwiches and most of all local flavor. It's in an institution not to be missed if you're seeking a quintessential Wellesley experience.

Seriously, before I'm executed, my last meal will be a Large Hot Italian. Linden Store is the best sandwich in Boston, probably the best I've ever had. Anytime I'm within 100 miles of Wellesley, I go out of my way to stop in. I used to eat here four times a week while I was in school, and many years later they still remember me when I come in. It doesn't get any better than this.

I'm generally not a big fan of deli's but the Linden Store is awesome! I've never had cravings like I have for the Kaitlyn from the Linden Store. The prosciutto is oh soooo yummy! It's thinly sliced and is absolutely fabulous, I'm licking my lips as I write this review. It's a must try!! However, do expect it to be busy, coz everyone else is already there...

The service was fast and friendly at The Linden Store but the sandwich really was not up to par. My "hot italian" was dry, the bread was dense, an overall tasteless experience. If you want a good sandwich go to Tutto Italiano.

Great food, great service. The rolls are amazing (soft, fresh), the meats and cheeses are of the highest quality, and they have great, unique, specials. You just can't go wrong here!

I don't know where to start. These are people that take pride in what they do. There is no word to describe the attitude and spirit of running this business the way Greg and Mark have. Their parents instilled a work ethic and sense of caring I have yet to see in a family owned business like this. Whether you want an english muffin with peanut butter for your 2 year old (they will attach a high chair so they can sit there) or need the most discerning prosciutt cut to paper thin perfection, it is done with caring and pride. The sub selection is solid. You have to be numb or jealous if you don't like this place. I wish, only wish there were delis like this in NYC and NJ, yes NYC, they would give any deli here a run for their money. No other owners work as hard as these people do to make sure you enjoy your sandwhich. Buddy over at Carlos' in Hoboken is the cake boss.. But Greg , he is the sub boss! They need to get these two (mark and greg) on TV.

I have lunch here at least 3 times a week. Not cheap by any means, but you get what you pay for. The Greg's arugula special is possibly the most delicious sandwich I have ever eaten. A thick layer of arugula is topped with sliced tomato, prosciutto, parmigiana-reggiano, olive oil, balsamic vinegar, salt and pepper. Sweet, bitter, salty, crunchy all at the same time makes for a sublime dining experience.

FANTASTIC find! The Linden Store serves up delicious deli sandwiches with great customer service. The people who work there are quick (which is good because it's always busy) and always incredibly friendly. We have become regulars there - my favorites are the Abby Rose, meatball sub, and the Linden Special. You won't be disappointed!

What can i say about Linden hmm... I grew up in Wellesley, so like every Wellesley kid they needed the daily fix of Linden. They have everything from cold cuts, hot subs and even soup. I can still remember the first half day of middle school. Waiting half a hour in line just for my first (Linden Special). All my friends raved about this joint, but i thought to myself, how good can a sandwich be? They use fresh soft bread baked daily. prosciutto mortadella and every other italian meat known to man all for the Linden Special. I recommend you get bacon as well(i think bacon make everything better...even chocolate) FYI- when you get bacon here, its not your breakfast bacon...They give you these giant bacon disks like if god created a pig that was a perfect cylinder just for my sandwich. Anyways...You can get a sandwich anywhere, but you can only get a "Linden Special" in Wellesley

The Linden Store is totally loved by the old-time Townies and contractors...it's a little blue collar beacon in the middle of all that is Swellesley. Every time I've stopped in there's a handful of WWII vets hanging out at the counter, sitting on the stools chatting about whatever they just read on the front of newspaper. Strong Point: Great cold cuts and deli sandwiches! Weak Point: Their breakfast sandwiches sound great (from the menu) but really aren't that much better than what you can get at Dunkin Donuts. Linden's coffee usually isn't all that great. Middle ground: Some of the staff are really nice others seem annoyed at life.

The Linden Store is fast and has great subs and good folks working there. Don't let a long line stop you, it moves quickly. Fresh rolls and good soups too.

great! WE take a sub and picnic at morses pond all teh time! My fav is the turkey and swiss sub with crumbly bacon! The bacon is crispy not soggy (I hate soggy bacon... it tastes like sweaty rubber) with a yummy roll! FANTASTICO!

GREAT sandwiches and wraps. We've been searching for a local sandwich joint with both quality and variety (we were thrilled with Tutto's quality, but were looking for some more variety). Linden Store fits the bill. This has become a regular stop for us on Saturdays. Yes, the crowds can be somewhat overwhelming, but the line moves fairly quickly. Great spot.

I've always thought Linden a bit overrated--I'm not sure what's supposed to separate them from any other deli. They do make good sandwiches, however.

my friend whom i'm visiting suggested to grab sandwiches here for lunch one day. we decided to take others' suggestions and try the turkey, stuffing, and cranberry sandwich. we ordered (2) for pick up @ $7.50 each. they were done in 15 mins and it was impressive. i never tried such a sandwich but heard you can order these at delis such as boudin's or specialty's in the bay area. i was expected a stuffed sandwich, overflowing w/ stuffing - actually that what i was hoping. instead the stuffing looked almost like spam - it was kinda weird but the taste overall was awesome. it was a touch of savory with a little sweet. my only suggestion is adding the real stuffing overflowing out of the sandwich.

crazy awesome sandwiches and crazy cute. the only place anywhere where i will literally get insane (by my standards) food. like a wrap with buffalo deli chicken and blue cheese and monterey jack and tomatoes and lettuce and other weird intense things, and eat it and love it.

Our University of Pennsylvania Heavyweight Rowing team ordered 32 custom subs for the 2011 Head of the Charles Regatta and not only were the sandwiches "mind-blowing" as one of the rowers put it, but the service from Mark was second to none. He worked with me to make sure each sandwich was made exactly how each rower wanted it. He paid attention to every detail (and then some) to be sure that everything was perfect. And it was!! He truly cares about what he does and earns every bit of praise he gets. Oh yea, and almost all of the rowers went out of their way to say they LOVED their sandwich and wished Mark had a shop in Philadelphia. Now, you can't get any better praise than that!!

Best place in Wellesley for sandwiches! Also, their catering service is terrific for parties at home. I'd give it five stars if the prices were just a little bit cheaper (but this is Swellesley, after all), and they had more dessert options.

If you're like me and make judgements on restaurants solely on their outside appearance, well, you've probably never been to the Linden Store. For the longest time I thought it was a convenient store. Probably because it has the word 'store' in its name, but also from its unassuming exterior. When I finally decided to peek inside and see what it was all about I was quite surprised to see an 'old-timey' deli setup and a big long line of people waiting to get food. I can recommend the entire menu. Everything is good, and super fresh. My favorite is probably the Linden Special. And if you're craving a breakfast sandwich, don't go to Dunkins down the street! Get it here! Good coffee too.

The best sandwich in metro west by far. It's not just because they use quality cold cuts, it's not just because the staff is friendly, but whoever bakes their soft soft bread they put all their subs on deserves a medal. The Linden Special is really an amazing sandwich.

I was just craving an LSD sub (Linden Street Deli) and thought I might just throw up a quick review. This place is the best for 3 reasons. The meat is rediculously fresh and perfectly sliced, the bread is unreal and the family who owns and runs it are a Wellesley institution. If you are in Wellesley and hungry, make it to LSD. Best sub is the turkey bacon swiss or the Italian with sweet peppers...

The Linden Store is right down the street from my work, and I find myself wanting to head over for lunch every day that I can, including days I have already brought a lunch from home. The menu is extensive and they will really work to make anything that you want. I really appreciate the care that they put into the sandwiches. I have never had an order messed up even during the busiest of days. The chicken salad and the humus wrap are my favorite. On the downside, Linden gets very packed around lunch time and is sometimes a lengthier wait. Is the wait worth it? Yes!

This place has been a lunch sub favorite for awhile. The service is incredibly fast and friendly, and although the line can get pretty long, you are always taken care of well and leave with a smile. My favorite there is the Isabella sandwich - absolutely delicious! There are a few spots to sit down, but I recommend taking your meal to go.
