Stopped in with some friends who are locals and sat at the bar for dinner. We placed our drink order and asked for menus. When you walk in the front door the bar is to the left and pool tables to the right. Behind the pool hall, in back, is a sit down restaurant. They offer bar food and more. We had a ruben, burger, chicken and seafood. Everyone enjoyed their meal and drinks. The staff was friendly and efficient. Not a 'fine dining' establishment, this is a comfortable local place to get a bite to eat without fuss. I can see how the 'regulars' may get special treatment but if you come in with a good attitude, I think you will be OK.

To be fair, I rarely get to go out anymore. My husband and I have a 14 month old and often spend our nights home with her. Last night we had a babysitter and the opportunity to go out with a few friends. At about 10:30pm on our way home from dinner we decided to take advantage of the fact that our daughter was being looked after and stop for a night cap. We were driving past Maverick's and thought...why not? Seems to be pretty busy, might be a nice place to go for a final drink before going home. Upon walking in we looked for two empty seats at the bar. There were about 8 seats available so it was easy to get a spot. I took off my coat and my husband went to the bathroom. The bartender looked down the bar at me, then serviced other customers. After my husband came back, she looked at us again and continued to clean/organize the bar area, not even gesturing to us that she'd be right down. We sat and waited 3 more minutes. In this time the bartender served another patron who had walked up and a barhand brought up two cases of Bud Light to stock the cooler and didn't even glance in our direction either. At that point we got up and left. Are they doing that well that the staff can ignore potential customers?? I am disappointed because the place has pool tables and looked like it might be a promising spot to go for a drink once in a while. I've never been ignored like that and I hope to never have that experience again!!

Let me start by saying that I've driven by this place hundreds of times, and have always wanted to try it. My friend and I were trying to figure out where to go for lunch, and since she lives in Tewksbury, we decided upon Maverick's. What a mistake! We walked into the restaurant and waited to be seated. It wasn't busy - only one table with about 6 people seated. Time lapsed? 5 whole minutes before someone FINALLY came out to seat us! Which, by the way, was made possible by my friend, who opened and slammed the front door very loudly. Had she not, well...who knows how long we'd be waiting? We sat down in a booth...well, sank is more like it! There were holes and tears in the seats, and my friend had to actually put her coat over it, so as not to hit the floor! The place is very shabbily - and oddly - decorated. On our table, sat a plastic vase filled with plastic white rose petals and plastic red roses. The decor aside, we finally ordered our food. We ordered Onion Rings, my friend ordered a wrap, which had feta cheese on it and was wrapped in a honey-cinnamon type wrap. Disgusting! She asked for some dressing, hoping that it would make the wrap more edible, but instead, the dressing itself wasn't even edible! There was an oil slick on top of the dressing that rivaled the oil spill in the Gulf...YUK. I ordered the Baked Ravioli...UGH! They were awful!!! I could tell that they had been sitting in the fridge, as they had a yellow color to them, and the edges were dry and hard, which also led me to believe they were put in the microwave because the cheese was barely melted on top of the plate. PLATE. Isn't baked ravioli - or any kind of baked pasta dish - served in a deep dish? I think so! OH - and I asked for grated cheese - bad! The waitress brought over a cold, grated cheese container, with dents and rust all over the lid! I'd probably need a tetanus shot if I ate the damn cheese from that container. Don't they know that you're not supposed to put metal in the fridge?!? Hello! The food here is nowhere near remotely good. Even the Coke had no flavor..tasted like water. My friend was brave enough to order dessert, which was a Brownie Sundae. That was just o.k.! If you happen to be driving down Rout 38 in Tewksbury and come upon this place, do not stop. Go to McDonald's down the road!

Awesome prime rib!!! Best around!, its a bar that serves food if your looking for fancy this isnt your place, but a good place to grab a few beers and grab some food

S&$?hole with very poor service and clientele. This place is horrible and full of losers, druggies, drunks, whores and sleezebags. I gave it a shot a few times. One time went in on a Saturday afternoon to get a cold beer after doing some yard work. Place was empty except a few guys at end of bar talking to female bartender and NASCAR racing was on all TVs. I sat at other end of bar since I didn't know them. Took bartender a few minutes before she came over which is rude. With an attitude asked me what I want. I poliitely asked for a beer which she got me. I asked if she could switch tv to the red sox and she just gave me a dirty look and Sid they were watching racing. I asked her to just switch one tv which she took a major issue with. After a few minutes she did and never came back but her and her biker loser friends gave me dirty looks. I was thinking of getting a second beer because it was a good close game but bartender wouldn't come over even after my beer was empty which I put out in the open. I had to actually call her over which annoyed her. I just asked what I owed. I gave her a $10 and she had the nerve to ask if I wanted change, ahhhh yes I do. I didn't leave her a penny the bi*&$?! Please don't go here.

Good Drinks - Good Bartender Close to were I live - kind of a dive bar but that can be fun sometimes. They do make great drinks. And the girl bartender was wicked nice.

Lunch with the boys ... always good ... bacon cheese burger today was way better than the burger I had last night at the Burlington, MA BGood for a better price.

Toasted ravioli were frozen and heated up. Sauce was like tomato paste. Special iwas far from special..sausage and pepper flatbread pizza was like something your 8 year old made in home economics. Soda came out without the syrup how did the bartender not see that? Wife enjoyed the haddock but not enough to bring me back... No love put in that food... A waste of 60 bucks. Waitress was nice so two stars iPo 1

This place was horrible. The food was good only because of an overweight brunette bartender that was very rude to us the whole night. Will never go back again because of her!!!!!!!!!

I'm being generous. Stay away from the hard, toasted ravs that look like they came from someone's freezer. The place was empty when I arrived, but shortly filled up with old people who probably keep coming back because they can't see, smell or taste. The decor is the dive look. Ribs could have been meatier, more tender and less veiny. My wife's hamburger was not 1/2lb, which was actually a positive because she can't eat that much beef. She mentioned it was dry. Come on now my wife lika the juice! My guess is the alcoholics in the bar keep the joint alive. And the waitresses need to take off those zip-up sweat shirts.
