Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

This review addresses Captain Pizza's pizza, as that's what I ordered and most other reviews are of their kabob sandwiches and calzones. I am of two minds with regards to their pizza. On the plus side, the toppings including the cheese were fresh, plentiful, and tasty. Other places give you a few measly shreds of broccoli and call that a topping, Captain loads it up. Their crust on the other hand is kind of dry crumbly and did not have alot of flavor. Sort of cracker-like. I like my pizza crust nice and dense and chewy. So, I can't go more than three stars. But that is still not bad, and the large pizza is darn large.

The Calzone And Tuna Sandwiches In This Place Are Best I Had...

New to the neighborhood and first visit (carry-out) to Captain Pizza. We ordered a small calzone and a chicken kabob sub. Both were outstanding and reasonably priced. The turnaround time between ordering and pickup may have been 15 minutes. Customer service was friendly and quick. The food did not disappoint. All in all, this first experience made a repeat customer out of me. Thank you!

Great Chicken Kabob Salad! Fast delivery too.

Awesome spot. Great sandwiches. They finally deliver but it does take some time. Calzones are really two pizzas on top of eachother which is phenomenal.

The only reason I'm giving it four stars instead of five is because I think their pizza is pretty mediocre. The toppings and sauce are good but the type of "dough" they use for their pizza honestly has the consistency of cardboard, but that aside.. I have been coming here since I was a kid, stopped going for a few years and rediscovered it all over again. Not only do they have the best chicken kabob anything (salads, subs, calzone) in town but their roast beef and homemade greek dressing are out of this world. If your a fan of their dressing (which I'm sure everyone is) you know to dip it in anything and everything that comes from captains, because seriously it's just that good! Their food is always fresh, prompt, and I really have never had a complaint about how something was cooked or how it tastes. They serve real quality food.

Good food, awesome friendly service, Pizza is just okay though crust is not terrible but could be better

Very fast to order and get your food. Decent prices too. The roast beef sandwich with cheese and sweet peppers was wonderful. You could tell that the roast beef was really fresh and seasoned well. Unfortunately, the pizza was just OK. Crust was really not good. Will I be back? Yep. Am I recommending them to everyone? No.

A friend got me hooked on the Chicken Kabob Pita, so that is pretty much all that I get here, but it is absolutely Fantastic. Right amount of chicken, sauce, soft pita, vegetables, Feta. Parking in the area is somewhat of a pain, but well worth it.

They have the best calzones in the North Shore. I used to eat those chicken calzones all the time in high school. Extremely caloric, but every once and a while you need to indulge in those thick, delicious master pieces. Mmmmm...

The epitome of North Shore of Massachusetts Greek Pizza/Roast Beef/Sandwich shops. The beefs are tremendous and their Kebab pitas and specialty pizzas are by no means healthy, but exactly what makes this local cuisine memorable and tasty.

Yummy! Steak tip salad-the best. I have come to love this place, they are right down the street and always delicious. Their salads are amazing and their pasta dinners are fantastic, never a disappointment. A must try!

This food is fabulous and the service is fast, friendly, and accurate. So far I have enjoyed their gyro which was juicy, and flavorful. The sauce was flavored just right. The lettuce, tomatoes and onions were fresh. Their Italian sub has the best bread for a sub. It really let the meat and vegetable fillings shine instead of just getting an overpowering mouthful of bread. Their Super Beef (on the onion roll) was so large I could not finish it. The beef was rare, the bun was fresh and the sauce was spicy with flavor without burning the mouth. We've only lived in this area for less than a week and I am a happy person to have moved so close to a quality shop.

The pizza is greek style- I don't care for it. However, the roast beef and the chicken is damn good. There are a handful of tables; most orders are to go.

I ordered 3 large cheese pizzas for me and my friend, trust me I would rate the pizzas 0 start if I had the option to do that. We could not eat it. One more thing it is very expensive compairing to other pizza stores. Honestly they have to do something about the quality and the way to make pizza.

All I ever order with my buddies is their chicken kabob sub. I don't know what's in the sauce they put on it or how they marinate the chicken, but it is to die for!

Anything with chicken is awesome. Chicken parm calzone is a circular pizza, stuffed with chicken parm, sauce, mozzarrella, then covered with a thin layer of dough and sprinkled with a little more cheese. It's amazing. The chicken kebab salad is also fantastic. They marinate chicken tenders for it, which are flavorful and juicy. Their traditional pies are just okay.

Best calzone I have ever had. Service is fast and it's manageable when it comes to cost. If you are in swampscott this is a must go to have pizza or calzones.
(5)Ryan A.
If you just want a cheese pizza, get it somewhere else. It's not that good and kind of expensive. However, add a few toppings and the pizza here is pretty good. Their calzones are usually very good, too - my favorite's the chicken kabob. Still, though, their meals are generally better than their pizza IMO. They make my favorite chicken kabobs in the area - juicy, marinated and delicious. Get it in a salad, sub or a full meal (which comes with a large salad and enough fries to feed an entire family). Their menu is pretty large - steak tips, tuna, subs, pizza, pretty much anything fried and roast beef.

Absolutely love this place. Grew up eating here. Everything on the menu is delicious, reasonably priced, and prepared quickly. I can honestly say I've never heard a bad word about it. If you love roast beef, pizza, calzones, subs, and all that other North Shore deliciousness, you will LOVE captain's.
