My husband and I thought we would give this new restaurant a try,we both ordered combination plates, the portions were big but the food was just awful, the rice was so awful, shrimp over cooked and nothing tasted good,we couldn't even eat it!definitely won't be going back.

My family ordered 3 combo plates and we were all very disappointed. The rice was a strange yellow color, unlike anything I've ever seen before and had a very odd taste. The pile of rice was massive, but they skimped on the other sides. There were only 2 chicken fingers in each combo plate and they were tiny. I've never received fewer than 4 chicken fingers in any combo plate I've ever ordered from other Chinese restaurants in the area. The boneless spareribs were extremely dry and inedible. There are far better places in the area (Mr. Chef, Cheng Du, Chinatown), to order from. We will definitely not be ordering from Kyoto again.

When they first opened. Food was only "okay" and order was wrong. They were quick and pleasant to correct that. Sat night (3/1/15) we tried again. Outstanding did quality this time around. Huge portions, piping hot and fresh, and quality was great with fresh cut mushrooms and all... order was done correctly add we requested some changes from the standard menu and they have us a free general gau chicken and white rice to go with it. The pricing is a bit lower than some of the other places like cheng du, mr chef, and south china (hing loon). Next take out night will be from kyoto again. I am comparing on a take out level not a dine in.

This was the first time ordering, the service was excellent, location within walking distance. The food was okay, I have had better. Spare ribs over cooked, rice was a bit dry. I will give it another try at some point

Love, love, love, this place. Staff are always friendly when ordering take out, the food is always piping hot, the portions are very plentiful for the price, and the food is flat out delicious! I will agree with the others - the place had a slow start when it opened, so those reviews were merited at the time. However, the food is 10x better than it was back then, so I encourage everyone to give it a try! You'll be hooked.

I have ordered food here 3 separate times and have been very pleased with my experience. Their General Gau's Chicken is awesome. I love how it's cooked, nice and crispy on the outside will being juicy and soft on the inside. The rice always tastes fresh and so far has not been dry at all. The broccoli is always crispy as well. I will be recommending this place to all my friends in Stoughton.

I'll admit, I was a bit skeptical after my first visit when my takeout was missing an egg roll that I paid for. It was their first week being open so I wrote it off as an accident due to them still getting in the swing of things... I'm glad I did! Kyoto is very good! Not the best Chinese food in the area nor the worst. To be honest, I came here just to try a different Chinese restaurant since my wife and I have gotten takeout from Cheng Du for ages. Great location in the center of town and they are very friendly. For the money, the value in their combo plates is unbelievable! For $8-9 you get a huge pile of fried rice, chicken or beef dish and two sides. I have a big appetite and I wasn't even disappointed that first time when they forgot my egg roll; I couldn't have eaten it! I've tried a few different combos now and they have all been very fresh tasting with massive portions. I'll definitely keep coming back. I just hope the competition from having so many other Chinese restaurants in Stoughton doesn't bear down on them.

Food quality has improved a lot since they first opened. I order delivery here almost once a week. Food always arrives fast, hot and excellent taste for local Chinese at good pricing. Nice people and delivery drivers are always friendly.

Good food. I get the combos, they separate the meat entree from the rice nice touch. Egg roll soggy and a bit small. Fried rice is above average doesn't taste like it was made in a rice cooker.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
