Pizza
Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.
Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.
Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.

Great pizza, great atmosphere. A bit pricy but worth it

The family and I went here on a Sunday got seated right away. The place is very nice and clean on the inside. Kids loved being able to watch them make the food. We had linguine in clam sauce, this was very good. We had a medium pepperoni and a small Margherita pizza. The medium is the size of most pizza shops large pizzas. The pizzas were amazing, cooked perfectly. Would recommend to anyone in the mood for an awesome meal.

Awesome place to be at for your entire family. . We love RED ROSE PIZZA . I have love them since I was a child. My mom use to use them as a incentive . She would take us out to Red Rose if our grades was good. Now I bring my children and they love Red Rose. The only thing that I would add to making them better would be them celebrating someone birthday with a cake and candle along with staff singing. We brought my sweet 16 there last night , I informed the staff all though we was the last big family to leave. Yes surprise, for the sweet 16 I thought they would sing and surprise her with a song but they didn't. This sweet 16 has held the honoral all year long and took on all types of obstacles but held on . I'm so proud of her so what more to do than to bring her to one of the best family restaurants we love RedRose . So Red Rose please think of my sweet 16 even if it's closing you could be making the best birthday gift ever. Just coming to Red Rose...

If you are looking for authentic Italian family style then this is the place for you. For one, their pizzas are a hit. Like out of the park. Delicious. I have never had a bad one there. In addition to that, their Italian dishes are just as good. I recommend their lasagna or the chicken parm. Its a pretty standard menu but the quality is something else. If you are doing a hockey game this is a great stop before hand. Heck, if you are downtown for any reason what so ever, this should be your first choice for places to eat. Don't miss out on it!

Being new to NE, I'd never heard of Red Rose Pizzeria (apparently, it's a local gem, as you'll read by the other reviews). When everything else was closed on July 4, Red Rose was open. So we walked from the fireworks area to get a bite to eat. My first impressions were lackluster. This place looks like it's been in a time warp for the last 40 years. Chandeliers hanging from the ceiling? Cafeteria-style dining room? Cheap casino-esque carpeting? I was already dreading my meal. The whole dining room was packed, noisy, and chock-full of every type and variety of human being you can imagine. We were initially seated somewhere between two tables of small children, but Jamie (thankfully) asked if there was a more quiet area to dine. We were showed to the lounge/bar. Apparently, under normal circumstances, you can only order food if you are seated at the bar, but not if you're seated in the lounge (which has tables and chairs). These are usually reserved for parties and events. However, I'd assume due to the large influx of people for 4th of July, they allowed us to sit and order in the lounge. Our waitress was the bartender, and she was very polite, helpful, and did a terrific job. A couple of draft beers were ordered, and came out right away. We started with the Caprese salad ($8.99), and the bartender also offered up some warm bread. It was pretty great, the mozzarella was fresh and the tomatoes tasted like they were home-grown. After finishing that, we ordered a medium "house" pizza, which comes with pepperoni, mozzarella cheese, and mixed peppers ($16.00). This is one huge pie! and definitely delicious. Their crust is definitely top-notch. Red Rose cuts their pizza in squares; I got about 3 squares in and I was stuffed. We took home more than half the pizza. All in all, about $50 was dropped for a dinner for two, which is a bit on the pricey end. But, given the quality of the food, I'd definitely be down for another Red Rose evening. Assuming, of course, I don't have to be seated in that wretched cafeteria. Here's to redecorating! PROST!

A huge pizza restaurant located within a 5 minute drive off of I-91, making this a convenient rest stop if you are looking for a sit-down meal after a long drive. It was busy on a friday night, but we had no wait and were seated immediately. Although we were famished, I'm glad we read previous reviews and only ordered their small-sized pizza.. which is definitely a large by NY standards. Even with two of us sharing, we still had leftovers! Pizza was great.. It even tasted good when we ate it cold the next day.... but the service was terrible and disappointing. We were initially greeted by a friendly waitress, who we then saw again only when she brought us the bill. Pizza was served but we had no plates. After staring and drooling at the food for some time, we finally decided to help ourselves and found clean plates by the bar. Water was not refilled and when asked for refills, only one of us got it. Even though the restaurant was busy, there were plenty of staff around.. so I'm not sure why the service was so bad.

I loved this place in the 90's. My pizza was pretty heavy and had too much garlic, I hope it was just a bad night...

We like to come to Red Rose Pizzeria for a delicious affordable meal. We always get a salad which is served family style. It is consistently good. We have only had pizza because it is sooo very good. Have never had a bad experience here. Very family oriented. Should really go more often.
(5)Pamela T.
What is there to say about Red Rose except that the pizza is the best in the world. They are huge, so watch how much you order. Very traditional Italian style. Where other places charge like $2.00 or more per topping, Red Rose still charges like .75 even on their huge pies. Haven't really ventured past the pizza but I've never heard anyone complain about their meals. They have a glass front pizza making area where you can watch them throwing dough and making pizza. The house salad is so good. I cant explain it, but we love it. Every time we go we can't wait to go back. It's a huge restaurant but it's still always crowded, but definitely worth the wait. A must try!!!
(5)Jim W.
One piece of pizza will normally do it for me, but that's not really an option here. The small is about the size of a delivery place large. The large here will feed an entire neighborhood. The crust is very good, and they don't skimp on the toppings. The house salad is about the size of an olive garden salad and just as good. The staff was great, very friendly and helpful. The atmosphere of the place almost out does the food and service, but go for that, and look around in amazement.
(4)Maci M.
Every time I go I always get the best pizza. They're always very friendly. Honestly the best pizza in Springfield. Great size, great cheese and sauce, and great prices.
(5)Eric S.
Wow, what a wonderful place! I was here with a group of friends. We made a reservation and we were seated promptly. This place looked very nice for a pizzeria in Springfield. Not only do they serve pizza, they serve some really good Italian food! When we walked in through the door, the place had an interesting vibe to it. It had the feeling of a combination of brewpub, pizzeria, and sit-down restaurant. It felt very welcoming, and the smells indicated that the food would be very good! Our waiter was Jeremy. He seemed to be impatient at first, but was very polite. We were very polite with him as well, and he seemed to relax a little. I started out with the fried mozzarella. It was very good. The mozzarella was sliced, breaded and fried. Picture three mozzarella sticks, side by side, fused together, with the middleman (the breading in between) cut out and you have a piece of fried mozzarella. There were four pieces in the order, and they give you a delicious (possibly homemade?) marinara sauce in a cup the size of something you would serve soup in. The marinara sauce was so good that once I finished the fried mozzarella, I took the spoon and ate the rest of it straight out of the cup. One of my friends got the chicken tenders appetizer. He said that they were very good. I did not notice how many pieces came in the order, but they were a very good size. For my entree, I got the veal parmigiana. With the veal parmigiana entree, came a salad (cheese and croutons optional), and a choice of pasta (spaghetti, fettuccine, or ziti). Our waiter Jeremy mentioned that the place is known for its salads (and pizza). I chose to have my veal parmigiana on fettuccine, and opted for the cheese and croutons in my salad. The salad was delicious! They also provided complimentary bread and butter. The bread was deliciously fluffy and I think it might be made in-house from scratch. The plate that the veal parmigiana came on was huge. There was a decent portion of pasta on the plate, and an even larger portion of fried veal cutlets (it came with two very large ones). There was more veal than pasta in the dish! My friend asked about the pizza; specifically how large is the small. He as told "pretty huge" so he ordered a small pepperoni pizza. He was not disappointed. I'd say that the "small" was a good 16" across. A pizza of this size would be considered a large in most other places. The pizza smelled good and was very fresh. My friend let me try a slice and I found it to be very good! The one thing that I found odd was how fountain beverages were sold by the glass, but given the prices of the items on the menu, I was not surprised. The prices were a bit higher than what you might expect, but the portions make up for it, and the quality and taste of the food makes it worth it! Jeremy was even nice enough to do separate bills for each of us even though we had a large group. The atmosphere was very nice, and welcoming, the service was decent, and the food was absolutely delicious. I will definitely eat here again!
(5)Tawana A.
One of the best pizza in western ma point blank period. I usually order take out but I've actually eaten there twice and both times customer service was on par
(4)Justin M.
It's pretty decent, food is good, but not a huge fan of anything else. Probably because anytime I'm there, I have to wait, so there's my two cents.
(3)C H.
Red Rose is a family-friendly, red-sauce Italian pizzeria & restaurant. The waitstaff was very friendly and professional. Even without reservations on a Friday night, our party of 7 was seated within 10 minutes. As others have mentioned, portion sizes are huge. Prices are very reasonable. I considered taking off a star because I ended up overeating, but in retrospect, I guess the fault was mainly mine. Yum!

Look. Red Rose is an area institution. I don't deny that. A lot of people swear by it, and I know people once native to the area who look forward to dropping in on their visits. So stipulated. But honestly, it's a pizzeria. It's the only one I've ever known where you've had to wait a half hour for a table, barring the upscale Bertucchi's of the world. And the pizza just never has thrilled me. It's more the New England-standard thick-as-a-quilt Greek-style, rather than the New York/Italian style they pretend to have, and I'm unimpressed. If you judge it by restaurant standards instead, sorry: it's too crowded, too raucous, too low quality. It has all the ambiance of an Outback Steakhouse or an IHOP. Too pricey and too busy for a pizzeria (and there are too many good pizzerias in Springfield). Too raucous, cramped and low-brow for a restaurant (and there are too many good restaurants in Springfield). I don't *hate* it, but I've no need to patronize it.
(2)E L.
The best Pizza in Springfield! Restaurant is always clean and classy as well. If you're not in the mood for pizza today, they have a great menu of Italian food!
(5)Erin W.
Everyone raves about Red Rose, if you ask someone in Springfield their favorite pizza it is probably going to come up. I have to agree that this is a great thin crust NE pizza. The toppings were abundant and the crust was perfect. I'm not sure if it was all that everyone makes it out to be, but it was very good.
(4)St M.
We were at six flags looking for a bite to eat and Yelp pizza. We chose RedRose and were not disappointed. We had a salad and jumbo pizza. the salad and rolls were great and the pizza was delicaous.
(5)John R.
Everyone likes something different, and I'm glad Red Rose Pizzeria makes so many people happy. I don't like Iceberg Salad with 2 olives, 3 CANNED peppers and 2 1/4 slices of hard tomato with a massive douse of Italian vinaigrette. I don't care if it can feed 10 people ... Iceberg went out in the 80's .. that said that's what this place is stuck in 1982 ... The 10" Pizza was bland .. tons of cheese (flavorless) .. just a big hot mess. I even waited to see if it was better the next day ... NOT! I spent $24 nearly touched the salad, and had 2 slices of Pizza and the rest went in Zee Garrr bauge. So far the only Pizza I've had North of NYC that's decent is in a place in Hampden called Gio's. They have a nice rich sauce and perfect BALANCE. PIZZA is about BALANCED ingredients! thumb's down ... for red rose BUT the server was GREAT!
(1)Nicola S.
Amazing! Spectacular! Big portions! Hidden gem! A definite must! ............. Good atmosphere! Family oriented! Great time!
(5)Susan N.
Had a chance to visit last week and the pizza was as fantastic as always. Our server took a while to get to us but once she did she was friendly. I think they still have the best pizza in the Greater Springfield area.
(4)Robin A.
I've been going to red rose for 25+ years as long as I can remember. My family lives in town and we always go when visiting. As a kid I loved watching the pizzas being made and their food is good. The pizzas are huge!
(4)Chewie F.
a Fun place to go with the family. not Fancy. Huge pizzas
(4)Wolf L.
They have the best lasagna in town. You can't go wrong her. Friendly, fast service at all times.
(5)Taylor V.
I was pretty much raised on Red Rose pizza, and I've been a loyal patron for years. I have honestly never had a bad meal here, and the service is always superb. Wait times can get long on the weekends, and sometimes the front end seems a bit lost, but it's worth the wait! If you enjoy sangria, theirs is delicious. Parking is usually tough, as that their lot in the back is small, but if you park down a side street you can usually find something.
(4)G. O.
The Red Rose is a classic Italian restaurant in Springfield, but it's heyday is past. I enjoy the big table salads, and the entrees are certainly tasty, but the ambiance is dated, the services is only so-so, and it's far too crowded and slow moving. The hostesses are usually grouchy and unpleasant. There are too many plastic (dusty) plants. The pizza is a bit flour-y and overly salted. If you haven't been, you should go (on a week day when it's not insanely busy) just because it's iconic, but if you have been, don't go back -- just let your memory stand ... because it's not what it used to be.
(3)Jenny P.
Really like the pizza from Red Rose, but very put off by the to-go system that involves multiple stations and customers are supposed to know about in advance. Okay for regulars but not for new customers.
(3)Reina F.
Excellent Italian fare. Wonderful atmosphere. Stephanie is a wonderful and bubbly server.
(5)Karin O.
I hate to say how long I've been eating this pizza. I used to come here in high school when it was a much smaller restaurant, and I have the scars on the roof of my mouth to prove it. I personally think this is some of the best pizza in the area. I like the thicker crust and the sauce is just right. The decor is a bit overdone, and the staff can be brusque, but the food is worth it. Very reasonably priced.
(4)Brian B.
Not what it once was. Growing up in Springfield in the late 70's through the early 90s Red Rose Pizzeria was the place to go for pizza. The sauce and dough were out of this world. Practically everything on the menu was top of the line. Unfortunately fast forward thirty years later and the quality of product and service has dropped. I get the impression that the owners like so many have not been able to effectively handle expansion and quality control. The pizza is waaay overpriced and the experience of walking in the restaurant whether for take-out or dine-in is sub par. There is a middle aged Italian-American looking woman who is often distracted with personal stuff rather than fully engaged with the customer in front of her. One time during take-out she was busy looking at baby photos while I stood there for several minutes. To her credit she did apologize but when I didn't leave a tip, which incidentally I never do for take out, she seemed annoyed. Now I realize the personalized service from back in the day is usually found at 4 and 5 star restaurants, but after waiting nearly 20 years it has been a let down. Anyway I'm more likely to make my own pizza these days or go elsewhere.
(3)Stephen O.
Food is great, I had baked ziti, comes with salad. Fun place for a group. They clearly have a system in place and it works.
(4)Laurita M.
Another institution. Solid, basic Italian food. Nothing noteworthy except the place feels like it's straight out of another decade. Worth going once just to check it out, but not really worth the crowds or the price. There are lots of other great places I'd rather frequent in Springfield. I would consider going back if they ever got outdoor seating. Why don't they have a patio??
(3)Becca H.
My girlfriend, her brother, and I visited Red Rose on a Sunday evening after countless recommendations. We moved to Springfield over the summer and kept hearing how it is the best pizza in town. We started with the fried mozzarella which was really exceptional--perfect breading, good temperature, and the dipping marinara was delicious. We moved on to the family size salad which was HUGE and delicious-- the three of us barely made a dent in it! It was really enjoyable though-- good lettuce & veggies and the Italian dressing was really great. We ordered way too much pizza though-- we got a medium standard pepperoni & peppers and a 10 inch Margherita. I really preferred the Margherita because I'm a thin crust person, but we agreed that the standard pizza was also excellent. Next time I'm saving room for dessert! Honestly, this is a 4 star review rather than a 5 because of the lighting in the dining room. It's really really bright, intense overhead lighting. Despite being chandeliers, it has a cafeteria feel because of the intensity of the fluorescent feeling.
(4)Rhonda K.
Last night we went out with some friends to Red Rose for dinner. The place was packed (as usual) and we expected a wait. What we didn't expect was for the hostess to give people who had just walked in off the street tables ahead of people who had been waiting for 20 - 30 minutes, just because they had tickets to go to the Falcons game! But that wasnt our fight and other irate customers took care of that. When we were finally seated we all knew what we wanted. Three of us ordered the lasagna, and one ordered the mussels. The service was great, (until it wasn't) and the mussels looked phenomenal. The person who recommended the lasagna loved it, but it didn't quite hit the mark with the two of us remaining. We both felt the sauce was bitter to start with, the tops were burnt, and the rest of it was just mushy. Not just messy because it was piping hot, no, it was just mushy. Also, the sauce was bland. As if the taste had been simmeeed right out of it. And while the portion they give you is good enough for two helpings, and I would normally break my no leftover rule, I just couldnt. I didn't care for it the first time around, why would I want it a second? Now, in case you are wondering if I remained quiet about it what with such a horrible plate in front of me, not a chance. I told our server when she asked how everything was, what I felt about it. And her response was "Well, other people have had it, and it is always very popular" as if I should just shut up and conform. In my opinion, that was bad service and she certainly got only a minimal tip from husband and myself. Why even ask then? The only reason I am giving it 3 stars is because we have always had great service there, because this was the first time we had less than amazing food there, and because whoever was at the bar, they are a master with a Dirty Martini! We will go back and try other things and we'll see....

Springfield is one of those cities that promotes drinking cheap vodka in a paper bag. It's sort of derelict and the main street is sort of the stuff you see at the Utica bus station. Most Mass cities are just depressing...but this place is a classic pizza joint in the south end that has held up despite the neighborhood going to hell. Good pizza..there is better for sure, but it's a great place to witness what life was like when the city was a thriving industrial city.
(4)Lisa G.
Awesome zuppa! Need I say more?
(3)Giulio P.
Che schziffo propio mi viene da vomitare..... Food was mediocre hostess boy is complete asshole let his head blow over his shoulders ....hair in the spaghetti just a complete disaster, not the servers fault it's the owners or the higher management , pretty cocky for a restraunt located in Springfield lol Springfield... Over priced just save yourself the trouble and order Pizza Hut
(1)Bill C.
It's fairly big, it's fairly loud, but it is good. Understanding where you are going is half the battle in liking an eatery. Once you know that this not a fancy, intimate Italian restaurant, you can focus on the food and the value. I have been twice, most recently this past week while in town on business. It is a great place for families as they can seat a lot of people. The service is great and quick (don't eat your salad or appetizer too slowly). The value is very good. The food is wonderful. I had veal parm, it was delicious and I had to take half of it home or risk a food coma. Our service person was very nice and quick. I would definitely steer people here; not the best Italian food in the food, but close enough to stop and enjoy!!!
(4)Steve B.
Best pizza in the area! Best Italian house salad period. The pizzas are really tasty and they have the perfect crust. Not thick and not thin, but perfectly crispy and not over cooked. Can't go wrong with any combination. The house salad is so good. There are two size personal and family size. The personal size could feed 2 people. The larger size about 5-8. The dressing is perfectly tangy and delicious. The atmosphere is open and inviting. The wait staff is great. You can ever watch them make the pizza dough and the pizza in a large open kitchen. If you want great pizza in an area that has way to many pizza places go here.
(5)Lawrence S.
The best pizza I have ever had surprise surprise surprise I love Italian food and pizza I'm 71 I've had pizza all over the United States this is the one!! Everyone in are party agreed overwhelmingly.
(5)Michael R.
Awesome food. Best calamari I have ever eaten. Jessica the waitress was knowledgable friendly and able to satisfy what we wanted for dinner. We are coming here tomorrow. If you happen to stay in Springfield MA for a night, this is the place to eat dinner.
(5)Maher A.
One of the best and still authentic Italian restaurants in Springfield. I just love there Pizza and that's what I go there for. Many other dishes but Pizza for me.
(4)Chrissy R.
This place surprised me. There food is delicious and the place is bigger than I thought. I'm definitely getting all of my Italian dishes from here. Authentic. I love it. I can say i will NOT order SHRIMP again because it was not CLEANED. Dirty shrimp is a big deal (3 stars because of shrimp).Aside from that on a very snowy Valentines night, they were packed but somehow they had room for everyone. Great place to be. Portions are hefty. Food has flavor. Staff are friendly to everyone.
(3)LC H.
Been going here since I was a kid. Salad and Pizza, you can never go wrong. Worried about the Casino taking the business away. I'm worried about people not wanting to push through all the traffic to go to Red Rose. It's truly an important staple in Springfield.
(4)Kimberly W.
We had a lovely meal here tonight. We arrived at 6:30 and it was pretty busy. Ryan was the host and he told us it would be a 25 minute wait for 5. We had two adults and 3 kids. We were about to leave because it was too long for us to wait with a two year old, but he looked and found us a table so we sat right down! Chris K. was our waitress and she accommodated the needs of our family and young kids so well. The food was plentiful and delicious as always. What a great, family restaurant!
(5)Jason A.
Really good comfort Italian food. Pizza is very cheesy, items are layered and salads are big. Great for groups and family and friends.
(4)Jeff S.
This place was GREAT! Took my three girls for dinner while in town and we had a very pleasant trip. From the moment we walked in, we felt at home. The bread, house salad and large pizza was more than enough to fill us up...we brought some back for my wife and still had leftovers! I would consider driving the 1.5 hours just to eat here :)
(5)Chad W.
I was very curious to try this pizzeria after reading all the reviews. So during our stay at the Sheraton, which is only a few blocks down main street, we decided to venture down for a taste. Boy am I glad we did. The food was excellent as was the waitstaff. We started with the fried calamari which was some of the best I have ever had and the fried mozzarella was very good also. The marinara was delicious along with the garlic cheese bread. The kids wanted to try the Buffallo chicken pizza as the adults opted for the traditional peperoni. Both were awesome and huge. All in all we had no complaints and the service was great not to mention the tab for eight of us was very affordable. Whenever we stay in Springfield Red Rose will be our go to place for sure.
(4)Rodney M.
Friendly staff, great food, service was top notch. We enjoyed a medium pizza which was very large and well worth the money spent. My only pet peeve was an up charge for blue cheese salad dressing. Desserts where out of this world and if your a chocolate lover the chocolate cake is a must.
(3)Alan H.
This place is my wife and i's favorite pizzeria in western Massachusetts. We really only come here for two things, the house salad with their house made vinaigrette and a large pizza. It is consistently perfect and good every single time. I have never had bad service here nor have I had bad food. The wait times for a table could get pretty long on a busy Friday or Saturday night. But it's nothing crazy and the place is big enough to where they can seat many people at a time. At some point I may try some of their other dinners there that they sell. But I really love the pizza and we are both crazy about the salad. And by the way, any restaurant that has an open air kitchen that allows you to see in to watch their cleanliness and accuracy, gets bonus points in my book!
(5)John L.
Out of staters in town for cheer competition. 6 of us went here for lunch. Order the large pizza and small antipasto . The food was great , the atmosphere was great and the service was excellent. Highly recommend this place to anyone visiting Springfield.
(5)A N.
Always great for pizza but today had the chicken parm for lunch and it was fantastic. Great portion size and very tasty. My husband had the chicken piccata. Good but they need to cut back on the lemon. Too tangy. Service is always good!
(4)Kristy R.
The food is really one of the best around. Although my last visit was a bad one I can still honestly say I like the place. The prices are a bit high but it's well worth it what with the large portions. It caters to a large variety of people: adults, children, business dinners, parties, families, date nights, etc.... It's also very unique to be able to see them make the food, especially a pizza. It's somewhat magical to see the dough being tossed and flipped! HOWEVER, my last visit wasn't that great. My husband and the kids went, 8 of us. When my husbands food came it also came with A HAIR!!! We flagged the first waitress and she went to get ours...she came after about 5 min freshly smelling of a cigarette. It's nice to know he person handling our food is smoking while doing so and obviously not washing her hands, She took the meal off. The manager never came over to apologize or to see if we wanted anything else. We have had issues at other places in the past and the manager has always come to over our table. The check comes and although the dinner was removed, they charged us for the salad. The free salad. The salad that comes with the meal and to add insult to injury they charged us $5.00!! Upon questioning it they reluctantly removed it. Other than thAt Red Rose is a good place but that instance put their 5 star rating down to 3.
(3)Joe V.
Awesome all around food. Pizza is great and their lobster ravioli was out of this world
(5)Mitch W.
We wanted pizza and heard good things about Red Rose on Yelp, so we ordered a medium pepperoni and mushrooms ($16.05 total) and it took 25 minutes to make. After picking the pizza up, we went back home to Holyoke, MA, went to the apartment and got out the pizza. It was a medium thin crust and thin in the middle. By the time we started eating, it had cooled down a lot, so I think the pizza might be better eaten inside the restaurant. (The restaurant is large and has excellent, friendly service). I did like the pizza. It has generous toppings and cheese. The medium looks pretty big, but since the crust is thinner than I normally eat, the medium goes pretty quick. I would like to try the pizza again, but next time we'll dine in instead of taking out and driving 10 minutes home. Xie Xie!

I am addicted to Red Rose's house salad! It is DELICIOUS, HUGE, and served family style to be shared. I've even gotten it to go many times and it's fine, but needs to be eaten the same day because it comes pre-dressed and turns into a soggy, limp mess if it sits for too long. You can EASILY feed a party of four+ on a house salad and a large pizza, with plenty of leftovers to take home. This is seriously the best deal going....fresh, well-prepared food at very reasonable/low prices. My only complaint is that the dining room is cavernous and brightly lit, and can feel a bit cafeteria-ish. I wish they would dim the lighting and help it feel more intimate, but it is what it is...a place where families and friends can gather and share a meal, pass babies around the table, laugh, reminisce, and call for another pitcher of sangria.
(4)Eric N.
By far...the best Pizza you'll ever have! The dinners they have are also insanely good! Chicken Frances's was fantastic. Would recommend this place! The only complaint is the service. The service is pretty bad but their food makes up for it.
(5)Mark M.
Food is great large portion, along with friendly staff. Family friendly. Great prices..
(5)Sean W.
Easily my favorite pizza place in Western Mass, hands down. Just go, you will not be disappointed. If you are, it's because you do not like awesome pizza. Their dinners are also very good, although I would say their pizza is their flagship. I have been getting pizza here since the 80's and have NEVER had a bad pizza. Their consistency is unparalleled. The Caputo family and staff are very friendly and welcoming.
(5)Nick G.
Red Rose always lives up to the hype. I've gone here over a hundred times and will always say the food and the staff are the best. From the owners to the servers, everyone there makes you feel like family. You can never go wrong with a pizza from red rose and if you're looking for a good salad with homemade dressing then you've found your place. Red rose is busy day in and day out for a reason and you should go find out why!
(5)Gigi C.
Ask for Jason, he is so awesome. I had the eggplant rollatini with a side of fetticini. OMG is was absolutely the best. Blue moon on tap. The only thing that I didn't care for is the laziness of the so called hostess. I walk in and stood there waiting to be seated. This individual continued to carry on a conversation with other employees about some nonsense. Then asked me did I need something? Really, I am just standing here looking hungry for my health!!!! Yeah, I would like to eat! Once I got past that my visit took a turn for the better. Next time I am here I will be back!
(5)Brendan K.
The pizza is really unmatched locally. I truly love their pizza. But I'm not a huge fan of their 98% iceberg salad, defiantly not a fan of the no reservation policy and the subsequent long wait times, nor have I ever really been happy with my server experience. None of the negatives keep me from coming here by themselves, but they are a consideration when planning out an evening. All said and done A Classic Springfield staple restaurant that serves quality pizza, has a lively atmosphere, and generally positive experience.
(3)Ethel G.
It's pretty good. Older generations in Springfield still see it as the end all be all of Springfield pizza. If you're not in the group, you'll like it but know there is better pizza available, at places which probably refill drinks.
(2)Matt J.
This place get 3 stars grading on a curve. Caveat: The pizza in Western Mass is awful. This is one of the best of a poor bunch. That said there are lots of other options. It's old school Italian American dining. The eating space is noisy and big. The service is so-so. But you are going with tradition here. You and your family have been going to this place for years. Good, not great eats.
(3)Jeffrey G.
Opened in 1963, three years before I was born. Quite an accomplishment! Hard to do for any business, much less a restaurant. It's not hard to see why they have not only survived, but also flourished. Incredible attention to detail, accommodating to customers, great balance between growth, willingness to change, and tradition. In my opinion, the best pizza in all of Western MA. Amazing dough, perfect sauce, just enough toppings. What else could you ask for? Well, how about a completely addicting dressed salad? Antipasto that could feed a small country? Baked dishes, just like Mama used to make. I could go on. Nothing fancy, just great food. From dinners for 2, to complete banquets, somehow these guys make it all work, no matter how busy and chaotic. My only caution to you, especially if you are from out of town, would be to pre-plan a return visit, or at least make sure you have connections. Their pizza is addicting. I live in Western MA. I am not allowed to cross any of the bridges onto the Cape, without a trunk full of pies for my cousins. It's not always fun knowing that your visit is second in anticipation, but I can understand.
(5)Charlie H.
Went there last night with several friends. We had family style pizza with lots of toppings. Still the best pizza ever. My favorite place. Even tho i live in Denver i make it a point to visit Red Rose when i am in Springfield. The service is excellent also.
(4)Jens M.
I was pretty stoked about going to this place after all the raving on here about it.... and from everything I've heard from anyone around here. I gotta be honest, it's not that great. The service was awesome, and the house salad makes me want to give this an extra half star! Seriously though, that house salad was amazing. Big ol' olives, and the croutons were soaked in that dressing oh-so-pleasantly. My girlfriend and I were fighting over them in front of her daughter to show her how to act like grown-ups at a restaurant. The cannoli was AWESOME as well. I really want one right now. Seriously, the best one I've had around here. The chicken marsala was one of the better ones I've had too... A VERY generous portion there! There's still half of it in my fridge from Valentine's day... maybe that's gross, considering it was a week ago. Now, I've been around the world a few times, so maybe I am too hard to please, but the pizza here was just not THAT special. I would have rather had a stuffed crust pizza from Pizza Hut, or maybe even a deep dish from Domino's. If you're going to go pizza here, do yourself a favor and just get pepperoni, don't bother with all that peppers and bullsnap they put on there. It's way better that way. Overall- would I go there again? Yeah, probably. I think if I would rather try something new though. And maybe because I went on Valentine's Day, my pizza wasn't quite uptosnuff....
(3)David H.
The food here is to die for. Fresh, homemade Italian, big portions and great service. I had never had Meatball Parmigiana before but it was incredible. My wife has the lasagna every time she comes. Even the salads were great. We were a party of 5 and we ALL took home doggie bags. Don't visit Springfield without a visit here!
(5)Jeff H.
Great pizza, probably the best in the area. They do a great job loading up the toppings without overpowering the pizza. Excellent place to sit down and eat with the family or take out. Price is right too.
(5)Christa F.
The East Coast gets a bad wrap for people being rude... This place is the perfect example of why!! The food is ok. I can't say there is anything that has been terrible when we've been here, but there also hasn't been anything that was just absolutely amazing either. The service... Each time we've been there we've been seated immediately. That's great considering they've been quite busy. The problem is it takes a while for someone to come by to take our drink order. Then 20 min later when they come back with our drinks we're ready to order, but they tell us, "Just a moment," and leave again for 20 more min. After we order we don't see our server again until the food comes. Drink refills? Forget it! I've never gotten them here! Needless to say we stopped eating here and we I stopped sending people here that were coming in for my coming in for my work. They all complained to me for sending them here!
(2)Matt Y.
The food is awesome. The waitstaff is efficient competent and pleasant. All around great experience. Only downsides. Waiting for a table and finding a parking spot.
(5)Jennifer P.
Always a wonderful experience. Pizza is out of this world good!!! Their Alfredo sauce is homemade and can't be beat.
(5)Dan S.
Good food. Good portions. Good prices. My family loves this place and frequents it often. I can't think think of a better place to get pizza. Fresh ingredients, they don't skimp on anything, and you can watch them make it :)
(5)Dinara E.
Delicious pizza! They make it in front of you but fair warning: canned mushrooms and peppers. Their bread is amazing but the last two times I wasn't offered any which was very disappointing. As for the house salad, the dressing is home made and amazing! The mozzarella sticks are nice and thick and crispy but the marinara needs more salt, which is also made on premise. They got rid of the booths after the tornado and looks much better, not as stuffy. But it's weird that there is one entrance door for bathrooms and then two more doors for specific genders which leads to confusion to new comers because it seems like there is just one unisex handicapped bathroom. Also, there is an issue with going to the bathroom because there are chairs on either side of the main entrance where the waitresses sit. It's really awkward especially when you hear your waitress on the phone in the next stall.
(4)John B.
What great pizza! Our first visit, crowded on a Friday night but just a 15 minute wait. Even though it was packed, we could easily have a conversation. The garlic bread with cheese was delicious and way too much for 2 people. And a "small" pizza gave us plenty of leftovers. It was incredible, plenty of cheese and wonderful crisp crust. Can't wait to go back!
(5)Marina M.
What bad service. First they were rude on the phone and next I don't even get the stupid pizza! Not recommended
(1)David P.
Possibly one of the best Italian restaurants I've ate at. The veal parm and eggplant rittoni? were the best. Not sure of the exact name of the eggplant dish but it had ricotta cheese in it! Can't go wrong with Red Rose it's a classic!!
(5)Doug B.
Red Rose Pizza named after the pizza offers great food, very good service and very reasonable prices. If there is one thing that people don't agree on its Pizza. I will say that I prefer this place for the very consistent Italian classic dishes. The Pizza is excellent of course. It comes in large sizes that are not that much more than the small sizes, so size up. The Antipasto is very generous and the salad dressing is home made and excellent. Service consist of career wait-staff with very little turn over. They appear to like their jobs, even though we all know its got to be a tough job. This is a great place to get in and get out in a reasonable time, as people are seated (space provided) and the meal progresses quickly. It can get Mobbed on weekends so watch out. Come at off peak hours or else potentially face the line. Its a well known establishment, and well loved.
(5)Alan E.
I love the Red Rose and I've never left there hungry or disappointed. The pizza is legendary, but I wanted to yelp about my favorite thing on the menu, the chicken marsala which comes loaded with delicious mushrooms and diced prosciutto ham which not only makes it unique on the plate, but amazing in your mouth! If you'd like a sweet and salty pasta dish this one will make you smile. I can't give a five star rating to a pizzeria with a family style menu, that rating is reserved for the places that make gourmet food that costs too much. The Red Rose makes honestly good food for a perfectly reasonable price. The service is always good and to those who say otherwise, I think that if you have a good attitude, you'll always get a good attitude in return.
(4)Phoebe Monster E.
When we showed up as a party of 8, the hostess looked at us like we were insane, even though there was plenty of seating and it would have only taken them a few seconds to put a few tables together. They tried squishing us into 2 small tables (normally each table would fit 4 comfortably but because they were pushed together, really only fit 6 comfortably), and when we requested a third table, more eyerolls and sighs. RUDE. Loads of waitresses standing around doing absolutely nothing. Rude hostess having some type of top secret conversation while casting nasty glances our way. Food wasn't good, either. Hard to get refills. Waitress only showed up to take order and deliver food, no additional services offered. And did I mention that they were rude?
(1)Sarah O.
My experience at Red Rose may not be representative of the norm, because I was there for a Saturday afternoon birthday party. They get high marks for the private room to the left of the main entrance, which is a nice space. Service was attentive and friendly as well. The food-- we ordered salad and a half dozen different pizzas-- was just alright, however. The salad was somewhat heavily dressed, and the pizza was average. (I didn't think it had enough sauce, but that's a personal preference.) The soda was a little flat. Overall, Red Rose wasn't outstanding, but it wasn't terrible.
(3)Howard B.
I really like this place and have a lot of good memories from meals here. The pizza is good but I will admit I have had better (even in Springfield). All the entrees are decent too. The house salad is great and should be ordered every time ..it's simple but perfect before consuming too many pizza slices. The service is always very good. Go in and enjoy a Springfield institution. Good atmosphere. You wont be disappointed. Red Rose is a Southern New England classic.
(4)Gina B.
Great service and really delicious food! We went there for a school recognition ceremony and they served salad and pizza. Great house salad! A little heavy on the dressing but the addition of olives, red onions, cucumbers, parmesan cheese and croutons were a yummy treat. The pizza was crispy on the bottom and cooked perfectly. I had a piece of cheese, pepperoni and veggie. The vegetable pizza had the usual veggies: broccoli, onions, mushrooms, tomatoes but it also had chunks of ricotta. SO creamy and a nice textural contrast. I would definitely go back!
(4)Cecelia B.
This place was hyped up as the most amazing pizza in the land. I was set up for disappointment. It was okay pizza. I have definitely had better and definitely in this area where the Italian population is high and the pizza is great. The decor was tacky as well. Overrated... I wouldn't bother to go back.
(2)Jake R.
Got some pies for work and they were awesome. The party pizzas are great for my family and friends. The value is great too. Try the egg plant on your pizza. Great.
(5)Matt M.
A Springfield institution with some serious ovens. The pizza on the other hand is not as great as their legend. A great place to eat with a group.
(3)Sandra S.
We like the pizza with the exception of the canned peppers and canned mushrooms. The sauce is good and the crust is soft. The biggest problem we have is the wait. We were told 45 minutes and ended up waiting an hour and a half during the most recent visit. We try to go at 4:30 if possible so we don't have to wait as long if at all. The one thing that brings us back to this establishment is the delicious house salad with Parmesan dressing. It is huge and feeds up to six. It is perfect to go along with the pizza.
(3)Christine C.
So bleepin good.
(5)Kyle A.
Best pizza I've found near me. I'm from the Midwest and am not a huge fan of the thin crust usually found out east. Red Rose is somewhere in the middle, and their crust is very good. Only complaint is you can't get Canadian bacon (Ham), but the sausage more than makes up for it!
(4)Debra C.
Hands down.....best pizzeria I have EVER been too. Was here on business and the locals brought us here for lunch.....jaw dropped at the pizza ovens and dough making operation and happened to see the extra large pizza coming out....HOLY CRAP it's the size of a tire...no kidding. Had to try the meatballs as an appetizer..and they were amazingly good.. The pizza is unreal.....perfect crust, toppings were great, .we were drooling to come back and we did...several more times. I would drive those 5 hours again in a heartbeat for another pizza.....New York Pizza be damned this is great stuff!
(5)Meg M.
I love this place. I've been stopping in for takeout orders with the occasional sit down dinner probably since I was about 12 or 13. Their pizza is that wonderful combination of soft doughy balanced with a crispy thick crust. I love the peppers they use. I love their bubbly teenage girl waitresses who are allowed to show cleavage and sass almost as much as I love the waitresses who act like my mom and call me Sweetie. It's my kinda place. Try the wings.
(4)Jon P.
Nice italian resturant close to downtown. A definate stop for great pizza after hitting six flags in agawam. The resturant itself is huge and the menu and food coming out to tables looked very good. I myself love the pizza. The pizza is made in its own pizza kitchen. About 6 or so cooks flipping fresh dough and making awesome pie's. The pizza kitchen is open viewed so you can watch them make it. Along with the huge dining room is also a large lounge as you walk in. already cant wait to hit bazzaro and the red rose again!!
(4)Erin S.
Let's be honest here - no one wants to go to Springfield, but if you have to go, Red Rose is your diamond in the rough. I would put Red Rose's pizza up against New York pizzerias any day. It's a big restaurant and you feel a bit like you're walking into a scene out of the Soprano's when you walk in, but the pizza is amazing. Seriously. That pizza is a reason to drive to Springfield. Get the house salad, get a pizza, a couple of beers and relax. I haven't tried anything else on the menu. I can't not get the pizza. It's impossible. I'm hooked.
(4)Stacey M.
Just went here the other day with the family, it was very good and I'm just mad I put off going there for so long. The pizza is amazing. It's a nice upbeat place with a homey feel. Very nice and polite staff. Great service. Prices are great. Definitely will be going more often!
(5)Camilla L.
I am from Vermont and in Springfield visiting a friend.....went to RR for lunch and had the best chicken wings I have ever had....everything else was really good....service was fine.....wish they did the olive oil and spice for their bread....but.....
(5)Corine J.
LOVE the pizza and salad (serves 3-4!) Always a crowd so be sure to arrive early and have a drink at the bar!
(4)Adam B.
This place has awesome pizza! We did have to wait about 15 minutes for a table for two, but the place was packed on a Sat night.
(4)Steven M.
Well, if you have nothing else to compare this place to. I would have to say this is the best pizza in Springfield. Homer Simpson would be proud, and probably very drunk to say that! I had the tortellini alfredo. They were dry, and I had to use my fork to cover them in the flavorless cream sauce. I did try a couple of pieces of pie. One with just cheese and the other with pepperoni, sausage and green pepper. It was acceptable as the dough was made fresh. But I like to taste of all the ingredience. This pie could be served at a retirement village and not upset the skeletor's living there. Done!
(2)Brendan R.
Best pizza and tortellini soup I've ever had. Hands down the best. If you are even remotely close to Springfield, this is a must go restaurant.
(5)Heather S.
Solid spot. Easy stop off 91. Best salad. Pizza unique with cornmeal crust. Busy spot but well run and great service.
(4)Jon R.
The pizza is awesome. It is up with some of the best I have ever had quite frankly. And I have enjoyed sitting at the bar and having a drink while eating. But I would agree with some of the other reviews in that the staff often appears overwhelmed and are not the most friendly. I also have gone down there and not felt safe walking out with my pizza for take out when it is dark. Last night it was snowing and there was a homeless guy inside telling me how hungry he was after walking past about 4 others just to get into the door. I did ask for them to walk with me outside and they did. It is on a corner and I could easily someone cold and hungry waiting out of site and robbing someone or stealing their food after leaving. It is just the reality of being in that area. It is a little scary. I am not in any way trying to demean people that are homeless. It is just that nature and survival takes over when people have nothing to eat and it is 10 degrees outside.
(4)Peter G.
Decent pizzeria/Italian restaurant. Nothing remarkable about the food, but at the same time, nothing to complain about. One perk is the pizza and salad size: in our party of 4, we had a large pizza and house salad, neither of which we could finish. Make sure to call ahead on weekends, we had nearly an hour wait despite the restaurant being massive. At least they had a full bar with reasonable prices...
(3)Heather G.
Really good pizza. I had the buffalo chicken pizza which was spicy with a thin crunchy crust. Most of the other pizzas seemed to have a thicker crust, which is the kind I normally prefer but I found the thin crust here to be well above average. The waitress was great, really attentive, not slow at all. The restaurant was quite crowded but we were seated right away. The atmosphere is much nicer than most of the pizza parlors in the area with ample parking across the street and some even in the street right in front of the restaurant. Overall a solid choice for pizza or Italian food in Springfield.
(4)Chris K.
"recently had dinner at this restaurant. It had been a long time since I had been there. I had forgotton how delicious pizza could be. It's all in the sauce and in the fresh ingredients that they use. it was incredible. Great service and great atmosphere."
(5)Motor Coach D.
Pizza was good, We needed an extra table for a wedding party and the staff didn't make an effort to get us one just made us crowd in and try to hold your plate and eat. Plenty of room for 2 or 3 more tables. and tables were available.
(3)Glenn M.
I stopped here with my son after Yelping for a nearby place. I filtered my results according to ranking and this was the highest rated and closest place. The store was packed at 12:00, which was pretty surprising considering how large it was. We were seated within 5 minutes and ordered the Medium sized house pizza. The pizza was pepperoni and pepper. I would say that the pizza was average, nothing to write about (even though that's what i'm doing), but the atmosphere was well above average. I think that most patrons were regulars and visited at least once a week. I'd like to come back and try one of the many pasta dishes they have. The pizza was very large at 15.00 and we took most of it home to eat tomorrow. This was a solid three stars, mostly for the atmosphere and the attentive waitstaff. I may update/upgrade the ranking if the pasta yields a different result with the palate. Glenn.
(3)Tuckie L.
Best crust I ever had. I would have preferred no peppers on my slice but still excellent
(5)Justin M.
Two days before I'm writing this review, Red Rose Pizzeria was destroyed by Massachusetts' strongest tornado in over 55 years -- its second strongest ever - an F4 that leveled much of the historic South End, the Ridgewood Historic District, and the Old Hill area by Springfield College. Red Rose, hopefully, will re-open better than ever. It featured the best pizza and also the best meatballs (aside from my Mom's) that I've ever had. Madeline Albright, the former Secretary of State under President Clinton - a well-traveled lady by any measure - declared Red Rose's meatballs to be "the best in the world." High praise, indeed.
(5)Hunter G.
Best Pizza in Springfield, IMO. Great dough, tasty topings, and a pretty sizable menu. Only issue at RR is I'm not a huge fan of the big dining room. Not anything wrong with it - just not my cup of tea. Service has always been sensational there and it's not uncommon to see the same waitresses working there over an extended period of time. It's a super-well run restaurant. Private bar/room off to the side is really underrated. Nice, spacious little bar area back there with a solid selection of beers. There are 3-4 restaurants in Springfield that if you're in the city, you have to go to. This is one of them.
(4)Greg L.
You know the service is going to be great when the bartender tells you to hold on a minute when she is about to take your order so that she can answer her phone.... The food is ok. Half the wait staff is great, the other half is rude and arrogant
(1)Ali G.
I have eaten a lot of pizza, mainly all over Massachusetts, in NYC, and out here in California. This place is one of my top 3 pizza places in the US! It's just perfect 'squares' western mass style pizza. Everything works together so well, between the chewy but crunchy cornmeal crust and delicious cheese. Just seriously phenominal pizza, period. Go!
(5)Raymond L.
Stumbled upon Red Rose on our first time in Springfield and had a lovely dinner with portions too big to finish. The excellent Red Rose salad for 2 would feed two *couples* or more! Order its as a side salad, if you can....but order it for sure! The tortellini soup's broth was freshly made, good as a Jewish mother's chicken soup....with very good noodles. The margherita pizza was excellent. A grinder sandwich disappointed, as the chicken breast was fried, which surprised me. But, as with everything else we ate: the ingredients were fresh, largely (if not entirely) homemade, served with skill by very pleasant wait staff. I will order a little differently- certainly want to try one of their great-sounding and smelling entrees (and generous) when I go back....and I will go back! Edda Caputo and her children have a gem of a restaurant that is great for couples, families, groups, everyone: don't miss it.
(4)Jemima T.
I just finished my eggplant parm- and it was delish! Got take out- more than enough for 2 people... and I'm no bird-like eater (actually, birds eat a lot, so maybe I am a bird-like eater.) Anyhow, the marinera sauce was great- tart and flavorful, and the eggplant was light, fluffy and had just enough cheese. My dining companions had pizza and spaghetti with meatballs, and they said everything was great. Wish I could have eaten more. Would have given 5 stars, but we got take out and I only tried the eggplant parm, so I cant comment on the service, or other dishes
(4)El Keter B.
They're on my blacklist. I heard nothing but raves about this place for DECADES until one day I was finally brought through its doors by a couple of friends. It might sound like a joke, but the three of us...a Black man, a Puerto Rican, and a Jew...met up outside the restaurant. When we entered the restaurant we got a weird look from the hostess who immediately brought us to a table...a SINGLE table...segregated from the rest of the restaurant by a half-wall. We sat at the table for a few minutes looking at each other. Finally we all asked "is this REALLY happening?" We began to discuss why we'd been sat where we were sat and quickly became dissatisfied with the treatment we'd received. We got up and made our way towards the door, passing the hostess who asked us why we were leaving...so we told her we didn't appreciate being quite literally segregated away from the rest of the restaurant. Her reply was "oh, you guys look like the types who would want to sit in the smoking section." We kept our cool and walked out, never to return.
(1)Chris M.
If someone tells you Red Rose has the best pizza in the area they are right. It is worth the stop!
(4)Kyle B.
Good pizza. The price is decent enough. A large cost around $18 and it could easily feed four very hungry folks. Place was busy, but we just did take out. I wish it was a little crispier though.
(4)Leachim S.
This was our second time visiting this place.... Everyone in the family enjoyed their meals. We really enjoyed the pizza and man was it huge. The have an XL size that is about the size of an average dining room table! We'll be back next time we visit the area.
(4)Mark F.
Pizza is great and you can watch them make them too. A real treat for all but especially the children.
(5)marley a.
It's unnecessary to go into detail about this place. There are only a couple things you need to know... Dynamite pizza. There's no doubt that it's the best in the western MA area. Also, I have never had pizza outside of New York City that I've found to be exceptional. However, this pizza is better than even a lot of the pizza in NYC. The best eggplant of my life. I am an eggplant fanatic, and I am proud to say that this place has the best eggplant that I have tasted. I've had eggplant parm in restaurants in Rome (Italy), Little Italy in NYC, the North End in Boston, and countless others, and this eggplant takes the plate. It's tender, sweet and perfectly breaded, then it's complimented with an ideal red sauce. The Red Rose is often crowded, and it can take up to an hour before you're seated. The service is stereotypical Italian, they are both entertaining and efficient. Before you are seated, enjoy the bar area by having a wine from their extensive selection or a beer from the tap. The food is undoubtedly worth the wait.
(5)Tanya L.
I can't even give this place one star. The food was ok but the service was horrible-shocking. No matter your profession you need to be respectable and professional neither of which I or my party experienced from the staff.
(1)Lee B.
Ordered a veal parm. Reasonably priced, nice service and the food was decent. I don't even know what else is in this city all I know is that I was there for about 10 mins once for business. Stopped in, ate and left.. nothing special and nothing terrible. The pizza looked ok. Seems a tad overrated for me...
(3)Milton G.
My family was visiting the Springfield area and we needed a place to meet friends for dinner, so I searched online for "best pizza in Springfield MA" and Red Rose came out on top. We were not disappointment. Very lively atmosphere. Good service. The pizza was very good and I would definitely have it again. Another patron at the restaurant told us they thought it was the best in New England. I don't think so. I have had what I consider to be better in CT but it is definitely worth eating there and it certainly is close to the best.
(4)Janelle S.
My sister goes to AIC right down the road and we were visiting her. She's been to this place a couple times so we decided to go. There was a total of 5 of us. We got prompt seating and service. We ordered the house salad to share, a large combo pizza, and I ordered the veggie alfredo pasta. All the portions were huge. After the salad and a slice of pizza, I had only a couple bites of my pasta until I had to stop. I was stuffed full of delicious food, from start to finish! Our waitress was attentive which was good since we were in a bit of a rush. There seemed to be quite a bit of people for such a large restaurant. Good atmosphere and delicious food. I can't wait to come back when I visit my sister again.
(4)MaryKate R.
awesome pizza!!!!!!!! we all loved it!!!!! but... the large pizza is enormous. so order carefully. very comfortable family atmosphere.
(5)Christian C.
wow, wish they had pizza like this in virginia. that's right i flew all the way to western massachusetts to try their pizza! okay, maybe that's exaggerating a bit but since i was in the area and had heard how good this pizza was i HAD to try it. it definitely lived up to my expectations. we ordered a party size pizza with the intention of taking a lot of it home and munching on pizza leftovers all weekend. the pies are HUGE and they do not skimp on the toppings. i would not classify their service as "slow" since they are making good quality pies from scratch - you can even look through a window into the kitchen and watch them in action.

I have some fond memories of going here after basketball games when I was a kid and it being a big deal. Now that I'm grown I wonder if this is the same pizza I had back in the day. By far the greasiest pizza in Western Massachusetts. Folks talking about this being "the best pizza" are insane. INSANE I SAY!

I have to visit my favorite pizza place everytime I come to Springfield. I grew up in this area and I remember all the great Italian food... unfortunately all the mom and pop places I loved are gone. Except this gem... I wish they could ship pizzas to CA. Try the pizza with peppers, pepperoni and sausage!

Not my favorite pizza but it is pretty good. The family salad with house dressing is the reason I go here. I would have given 4 stars but the restaurant is not very friendly. Every time we have gone the staff acted as if they were doing us a favor letting us eat there.

I came for lunch. It was fast, efficient and the lasagna was good. Generous portions. I like it. I'll be back to try the pizza.

Slow service. Mediocre pizza (even though they are ridiculously huge). The pasta dishes are definitely below par. 5 stars??? What are they smoking out there in Springfield?

Their pizza is tasty but I doubt would change anyone's life. What made me a fan was the great people watching (and overhearing). The food took a long time, but service was good.

Great family owned restaurant that has spanned generations. We have been coming here for over 20 years and still consider it a favorite. The pizza is one of the best you will find in the Northeast. Their eggplant parm is awesome. If you have kids they will love watching the chefs toss the pizza dough through the glass windows into the kitchen. This is a great food at great price.. Thanks Red Rose.. Here's to anther 20 Years!

One of the best and most consistent pizzas in Western Massachusetts. Great staff, best ingredients, freshest sauce and very family friendly. This was a regular restaurant when I lived in the area and is a must visit whenever I travel in the area. You will never go wrong with a Red Rose pizza.

Best pizza in Springfield! Although not the best I've ever had. Call ahead it gets busy.

Cheese pizza was delicious. I love their sauce. Buffalo Chicken pizza didn't have any tomato sauce and was very spicy. Also it was made with grilled chicken. And they didn't have any bacon...none at all!

SUCH GOOD PIZZA!!! not to mention their dinners are also fab; and out of the millions of times i've been there the service has also been excellent. Great place for a family or friend gathering; just be prepared to wait awhile on weekends or during dinnertime.

We've been here twice now - once on a Saturday night when it was crazy busy, and on Sunday afternoon - not so crazy, but still busy. We are big fans of thin crust New Haven-style pizza. This is not that pizza, but it's still really great - thicker, airy, with a great chew on the end pieces. They cut it in squares, and I found the middle crust-less pieces to get soggy pretty quickly, and aren't as appealing to me as the edge pieces. Big fan of the house special salad - note, the menu states for two or more - it can easily serve four or more in my opinion. The bread they serve as bread basket on the table might be some of the best italian bread I've ever tasted, was told that they bake it there. That makes it especially disappointing that when you order garlic bread or a grinder they don't use the same bread - more of a bland white-bready lacking texture get anywhere bread. Fried mozzarella app - really tasty, fresh tasting, served with a really terrific marinara. Can't wait to get back and continue to work through the menu!

Quite disappointed to find out that Rose Pizzeria does not serve food at the bar....after a long drive and in search of a quick bite in downtown Springfield, this was so sad. Decided to get back in the car and go to trusty Outback Steakhouse.

The cheese pizza was pretty good. The Primavera pizza was bland and small... since it's the peak of fresh veggie season, I expected much more. For being a family pizza restaurant, I was unimpressed when they didn't have something as simple as a crayon to entertain a rammy toddler. The service was slow, but the prices were reasonable. All in all, a 3 star kind of place. Not bad, not great.

Good service, standard Italian fare at best. Actually, there are some great Italian restraunts in Springfield, This ain't one of them, but all around a good place to bring the family and friends.

Take it from an Italian American (me) with grandmother from Italy who fed him geniune Italian food since childhood..- and form someone who has eaten all kinds of pizza in many states & countries (thats me too)....Red Rose is top 10 pizza in the WORLD. For the quality coming out of the oven....service speed is normal (not "slow" as someone else wrote). If you want fast....go to Domino's. The pasta dishes here are wonderful too.
