Let me start off by telling you: this, my friends, is the go-to place for anything! As a college student, coming home to Springfield is a good time to start reconnecting with friends and my friends and I are always willing to dine here. One of my friends would eat here almost 3x a week and I remember coming to a point during high school where 3x a week was a routine. My favorite order is a grande BBQ chicken burrito. I have gotten the fish tacos and BBQ chicken quesadilla before and those are really good too but nothing compares to a good ole BBQ chicken burrito. Bueno's burritos are BIG and when you pay just 50 cents more, your burrito basically evolves. I come here all the time with my friends and my boyfriend and I have probably eaten here at least 50 times in the past year. In the past couple of weeks alone, I have probably visited around 10 times. I cannot recommend this place enough. It's so good, reasonably priced, big portions, and great people. Can't get any better than that!

First off I must say the staff is incredibly hard-working, that was easy to see. Everyone was back there busting their asses! The cashier was friendly and polite. However- I'm really unimpressed with the quality of the food. Ordered a grande burrito with extra sour cream and cheese. I paid $1.50 extra for those ingredients and the burrito is bone dry. The steak is chewy and fatty. The chips were mediocre, tasted like Tostitos. For one dollar I got a tiny little side cup of guacamole. I almost feel bad complaining about the food when the staff seemed so great, but when I pay extra for something I expect to get it. I don't think I will be back.

A good tasty BIG burrito when you want one. No frills dining. Authentic flavors. A very small dining room, order at counter and you self bus your table. I always order the steak and mushroom quesadilla. It's fantastic. Horchata was available on my recent visit too. Most meals under $10.

I ordered from Bueno occasionally during law school if I anticipated a long night in the library, because with the exception of this local Mexican chain, there aren't many decent take-out options in the Sixteen Acres/Sumner Ave area. It was a great standby, because the prices are super reasonable, and there are a lot of standard (bean) as well as slightly-off-the-beaten-path (chickpea and red curry) burritos to choose from. (They also sell tacos and quesadillas.) My husband and I stopped by for a quick dinner when we were in the area recently, and found that nothing has changed-- and in this case, that's a good thing! Ingredients are fresh, service is friendly and quick, and the burritos are some of the best around.

Awesome burritos... just fantastic, fresh food all around. I frequently go to this location in Springfield, but started in Amherst, and every now and again go to West Springfield. One thing I can always count on is their consistency in how the food tastes, and how it's made. I hate when it's a guessing game as to how the food will be...here, I've never had that problem. Keep up the good work, and I will be back very soon!

I have never been a really big fan of burritoes before, but let me just say I was in Heaven here at Bueno Sano's! Okay, not literally Heaven but close enough, lol! I tried the veggie burrito just because I thought it would be a new experience. I can't even remember the last time I've had a burrito, and I definitely don't think I've ever tried veggie ones before either. But the burritoes, (yes I did go ahead and ordered 2 of them they were that good!) were DELICIOUS!! They were STUFFED with seemingly ever veggie imagineable, and the wrap itself also did not disappoint. The burritos also were not to hot or spicey either. What a disappointment that would have been if I couldn't have eaten them because of that, but they were seasoned just mild enough for an "old" lady's tastes, lol! There is not really anything else to say. The service was great and the food even better. (I also tried a side order of rice and beans which was also pretty good, once I added a little salt and pepper to really bring out its true flavor) So I encourage everyone to go ahead nad try one for yourself if you happen to be in the Springfield area. I guarantee you won't be disappointed!

My hubs really likes this place, if he's on his own for lunch/dinner it is his go-to. I agree that the burritos are really good. I don't know if the beans and rice are really worth it, but the food in general tastes fresh and like it is seasoned well. Definitely a good value, and quick service.

I don't even know where to start. Been a long time since I can say best food. Had the steak quesadilla with rice and bean. Salsa is prefect. If you are looking for good food for a good price come here!!!

At last! A decent Mexican restaurant in New England! I ordered take-out from this location a few days ago. Ambiance: -"basic" small restaurant set up: lots of tables with uncomfortable chairs and sparse decor -clean and well kept -definitely not "take your date here" material, but great for a quick bite to eat, or take-out Staff: -ordering over the phone was a breeze, but a little bit difficult to hear/understand -take-out was ready in 10 minutes -by the time I had gotten to the restaurant (8:30PM), the salsa station had already been broken down and it looked like they were closing, even though their hours are til 9PM. I don't like feeling rushed, especially if I'm dining in and hope that this was just a fluke. -not sure if there's waiter/table service, I'm pretty sure you just order at the front and pick up your food as your name is called. Food: -I ordered two chicken burritos (one poquito for 50 cents less; or you can get one made extra large for 50 cents more), and an order of grilled jalepenos. The total came to around $17. -both me and my fiance were pleasantly surprised at the size of the burritos (similar to Chipotle's) and the quality of the ingredients therein: grilled chicken, black beans, mexi-rice, pico de gallo, lettuce, and salsa. We had them throw in a couple of extra containers of "hot" salsa, and while it wasn't blistering, it definitely put out some heat. Burritos got a solid 4 stars. The chicken was a little dry, but that's about it. Awesome tortillas. -the grilled jalepenos were disappointing. They were not quite cooked all the way through (relatively crunchy) and the only spicy bite was the very tip of the pepper. The cream cheese filling left something to be desired: no seasoning, no flavor whatsoever. I'd skip these even though they were relatively inexpensive (~$3 for 3 peppers over rice). I'll hit up Bueno y Sano anytime I get a craving for Mexican food. It's not the most authentic place I've ever seen, but it does put out a pretty good product. Especially for those who are vegan or vegetarian, this place does veggies justice! The grilled zucchini (with added mushrooms) burrito has my name on it!

this is a smaller Chipotle type chain. they have a pretty similar menu as well as the prices. i guess one upside to Chipotle is you get to ask for double portion of certain sides whereas here they just make it and call your number when it's ready. it's not on the menu but you can ask for a bowl. their food was pretty good but the beef was dry and salty. the place got an interior update judging by the older pics on yelp. it looks nice and can hold about 25 people. the tables are fixed to the ground so you can't move them around. it's not my favorite place but i would recommend it.
Love this location definitely consider this one the best one. Great food and fast service. I could eat here everyday. Definitely try the buffalo chicken burrito and the chicken spinach quesadilla.

Bueno y Sano is basically everything Chipolte strives to be. Stopped in for a quick lunch today. Grabbed a grande steak burrito with sour cream. It seemed like before I even sat down they were calling me that it was ready. Everything was fresh and the steak was tender and seasoned. Although the pieces could of been bigger it was still very good. Place was clean and service good. The burrito and a drink ran somewhere in the $9 range. Pretty decent and I'm still not hungry four hours later.

I was recently adventuring in Springfield, MA, and couldn't pass up a trip to Bueno y Sano. If you like authentic Mexican delights, look no further. Their vegetarian burrito selection is amazing, as is their menu in general. Everything is made fresh, and you can taste it in the quality of the food. Oh, and the portions leave no belly wanting. I had the tomato and garlic burrito, and it was phenomenal. I know, it sounds odd and bland, but the fresh tomato and garlic, added to the beans and rice, was like a ray of sunshine during these dreary winter days. My boyfriend had the BBQ pulled pork quesadilla, which came with a side of rice and beans, and he said it was pretty much 'dilla perfection. I also ordered a side of grilled jalapenos to bring to a friend, and they were slightly charred on the outside, stuffed with cream cheese, and severed over rice. Doesn't get much better than that. The bottom line is, if you are anywhere near a Bueno y Sano, don't you dare pass up the opportunity to get your hands all over their spectacular, authentic offerings.

Will beat any big box burrito style restaurant (Chipolte, Moe's, etc) hands down. Gut-buster sized burrito's with a load of options. Steak burrito is awesome. Go ahead, spend the .50 and make it a GRANDE! My kids love the quesadillas and soft tacos. Highly recommend, friendly staff, fast service, great for a quick meal or take out.

Bueno Y Sano is muy BUENO! They have at least 5-6 burritos that are vegetarian and easily vegan with the omission of cheese (which is how I order it). The price is very reasonable for the amount of food you get. My favorites are the grilled vegetable and the East West with Tofu. A few others I like are the veggie chili, the portabello mushroom and the Salvadoran. Be sure to try the Tomatillo Sauce. It's really good as a salsa for their chips (spicy). Great food, great price and if you aren't vegan definitely try the stuffed peppers and the cheese flan. They were two of my favorites before I stopped eating dairy.

Huge fan of Bueno y Sano... best Mexican in Springfield. The burritos are delicious and massive. The Chicken Bacon Ranch burrito is my "go-to"... a must try if you like spicy!

I was never a fan of Bueno's Amherst or Northampton locations, always preferring La Veracruzana's grub. And while I find myself ordering from them occasionally I'm not really a fan of their location which is much closer to home here in Springfield either. The only reason they continue to get my business is the fact that I can get a burrito delivered to my home (thanks to Delivery Express, who deliver on Bueno's behalf) if I'm feeling too lazy to walk to any of the other taquerias in my neighborhood. On those particularly lazy occasions I usually order a BBQ chicken burrito and a chicken enchilada. I'll admit, I quite enjoy the BBQ chicken burrito as the added BBQ flavor gives the meat something that Bueno's chicken would otherwise lack and sorta makes up for the lack of mole. And to their credit I'm pretty sure they're the only local spot that offers a BBQ option. So kudos to them on that front. But I have no idea why I continue to order the enchilada. Their enchilada plate is comprised of a fistful of relatively plain chicken chunks and some random vegies tossed in some sauce and dumped into a flour tortilla. It's severely lacking in the cheese department, as well as the mole flavor the sauces at other local spots are known for. It's just slapdash. But the worst thing about it is the tortilla. I don't know if they don't really cook it or what, but it's tough as shoe leather! Enchiladas should be soft, cheesy, and gooey! These ain't. I really need to stop ordering the damn thing and just double up on BBQ chicken burritos! Their other menu items are otherwise unremarkable and kind of overpriced. The fish tacos being a noteworthy disappointment in both quality and value. I kind of feel like the only reason Bueno really gets over is their vegan/vegetarian options and their "fusion" style additions to the menu which are fancy enough but really nothing to brag about for a "Mexican" restaurant located so close to so many authentic taquerias because they're basically turning an essential ethnic staple into something it isn't. There's nothing wrong with giving a burrito some "zazz", it just turns it into something...else. Despite their issues, and the fact that there are better local options, Bueno y Sano is still better than a phony "Mexican" place like Chipotle, or the likes of Mama Iguanas and On the Border. And that...is something at least.

My go to place for anything burrito or quesadilla like, become a regular and you won't even have to order, they just know, great service, best gauc around just eat it quickly cause it turns brown fast, compare to tbell that stays green for days, gross! Fresh, fresh, fresh! Awesome food!

Decent burritos nothing special . I guess coming from CA I have I high expectations. Cashier didn't seem friendly either. Salsas were not hot at all. This place shouldn't be categorized as Mexican food, not mexican at all.

As with most of the Mexican food I've had in the Northeastern U.S. I am disappointed. It is not as good as real Mexican food from the Southern/South-Western part of the states. Everyone from this area thinks this place is great but I'm extremely underwhelmed. Not authentic and trying too hard to be fancy/organic.

11-27-2013 Update: Bueno Y Sano reached out about the offer a while back via Yelp. I just found their message and they responded favorably. I'll be back very soon. Always great food...

I'll keep it short-and-sweet on this one. Although Bueno Y Sano is a great place to get good food quickly, I have to agree with other yelpers on here that it is far from authentic mexican food that you can get in any of the border states, or in Mexico. I do enjoy the healthy options that they offer however and it will always be one of those restaurants that I can rely on when I want good food.

I am a bit biased since I went to UMass and I had Bueno in Amherst once a month. Bueno y Sano is an institution to me. This Springfield location is very close to me now and it offers plenty of seating and the same great food an Amherst-Northampton resident can have. The cooks and cashiers are friendly and the menu is quite an expansive. You can get a full plate of quesadillas with sides of rice and beans, or a large taco special. I personally like the vegetarian meal options. I really like the area it is in too. Its not a crowded area and you can always grab a chair and eat some fantastic food.

Good burritos! I don't think they're quite as good as Chipotle but they're not as expensive and given that they're a local chain, I like giving them the business. Every location I have been to is great.

1. The burrito's are the size of footballs (not a bad thing) 2. Tiny quaint little place, some outdoor seating 3. Noho's location is a bit better, but still pretty tasty yums I recommend :-)

Well, I've been back and ordered the Salvadorian burrito again and it was perfect. Must've been an off day when I went last. Definitely going back again. P.s. I love their homemade sauces, yummy.

I have had everything the place has to offer and I have not been disappointed yet. I enjoy coming here on nights when I'm either to lazy to cook or just want to grab some really good take out. For the amount of food you get for the price they charge, it's hard to beat. The staff is great and service is fast.

Hands down some of the best burritos you will ever eat... I was amazed after a trip to San Fran and hitting up multiple burrito joints on my trip it only made me want to get back to Western, MA for some more Bueno! My personal favorite is the bbq pulled pork burrito with loads of their awesome tomatillo salsa!

Came to Spingfield for basketball this weekend. I was so glad I had bueno in my back pocket because Springfield seems like such a vegan food desert if you don't want to go to Hadley/NoHo/Amherst. My BF, who is from the Bay Area and is the most egregious burrito snob, got the BBQ seitan burrito. He was loath to call it a burrito, being a stickler, but he enjoyed it nevertheless. I had a bite which was loaded with seitan in a sweet/tangy BBQ sauce and the rice was pretty well seasoned. I'd observe that he seemed more excited about the mockmeat options than the burrito itself. I got the special cajun blackened catfish tacos. I loved that the fish wasn't fried but was still really flavorful. They came with a cajun remoulade style sauce that had a nice kick and a small pile of fresh condiments, like cilantro, on top. Both the tomatillo salsa and the hot salsa were fresh and tasty. I was pleased that the hot salsa was much hotter than I was expecting. Once we stopped debating if it's really counts Mexican, we realized that it's as good as we expect to get in CT/western Mass.

Good & Healthy is a fair description of this little chain. Neat, clean, well run, nutritious and most of all - delicious!

The food is extremely good. I brought a group of friends here once, and we ordered salads, burritos, and the quesadilla, all which were tasty. The one disappointing thing was the salsa... it was kinda watered down, and there was no discernible difference between the mild and hot salsa.

Linda R.
I was excited to visit Bueno Y Sano after visiting the Amherst location while on vacation last year and loving it. I was a little disappointed in the steak burrito, it has very little flavor. The stuffed peppers were very hot, cream cheese was bland also. On the other hand, the buffalo chicken burrito was phenomenal! Service was quick, food was hot and presented nicely. I'd visit again and stick with buffalo chicken, either the burrito or quesadilla.

My favorite place for quick burritos and soft tacos. I don't think I've ever had anything I don't like. And the woman at the front is so friendly. They also have a salsa/sauce bar with hot, mild, and salsa verde. The homemade lemonade is pretty awesome too!
(5)
Brendan K.
This is hands down the best quick Spanish food in the region. I'm always stuffed and happy with my meal. Service is on point. The workers are always helpful and smiling. I do wish the chips and salsa were free and that their salsas had a bit more body as they are runny but compared to the cheap Taco Bell down the street this place is so fresh and wholesome tasting.

Before I start the review, I think it's important to ask about what's good about a burrito joint? In my opinion, a good burrito place has to have: 1) Great and efficient service 2) New and exciting new burrito choices 3) Fresh ingredients 4) Great parking 5) and most importantly, fresh guacamole! If you value these points, then stop reading this review and go grab a grande pulled pork burrito now! They make everything fresh for you and you can enjoy a piping fresh burrito in less than 5 minutes! My only beef (haha) is that the restaurant is in the middle of nowhere, but it still hasn't stopped me from driving 20 minutes everytime to get great Mexican food here.
(5)
Christina F.
Awesome! Fast, delicious, affordable and so convenient - highly recommended. They have a large variety of high quality fillings, including vegetarian options that are the best in the area. The (free) salsa and green tomatillo sauces are outstanding, and appear to be freshly made. Friendly staff and a pleasant, newly renovated dining area round out the experience. This is located on a busy road and you could easily overlook it, but don't! Parking is right behind the restaurant.

Love their burritos. I always get a BBQ pulled pork burrito with grilled onions and zucchini, add a little salsa verde and its the yummiest thing. Always very fresh and super quick. The catfish tacos are delicious too, very fresh with a spicy kick. Their staff is so nice and they just renovated and it looks beautiful. The desserts are delicious too! Definitely will be back soon!

If you want good "Mexican Food", Bueno Y Sano is the place to go. I have eaten at the original shop in Amherst and was thinking back on the Steak Burrito w/ sour cream and guacamole that I enjoyed on my last visit. Helene and I decided to go to the Springfield Ma location. I have had a craving for a good Burrito for a while. I was ready to order a Steak Burrito again but at the counter we decided to try a little of everything and went with soft tacos instead. We ordered four different tacos and split them in order to try a bit of everything. The first one we tried was the BBQ Chicken. I don't know what type of BBQ sauce they're using but the flavor is amazing. It was not overpowering and has now become my new favorite. The next was the BBQ Pulled Pork, It has a rich Smokey flavor that is fantastic. Helene liked that one the best. That for me was a surprise as she always seems to favor chicken. We then tried the Steak and a Chicken which were also good. I have had many good Tacos and Burritos in my travels visiting the family in Southern California and Texas and Oklahoma. The reality of the food here is it's not even close to the West Coast or Southwest style of Mexican Food but it is real good for what it is. The varieties of Burrito, Tacos and Quesadillas are impressive and the Burrito itself is huge. It made me think that if they started to produce them a bit smaller like sliders, the customer could order different ones like a sampler and how great could that be? Hello anyone listening? They also serve Salads, and grilled Jalapenos. The downsides: Average price for a Burrito is $ 7.50 which is more than any of the other places I have ever visited. On the go with........ gooddiggin.com

Usually I love going here. Today I stopped in and ordered a burrito. I have allergies so I asked for it with no cheese/sour cream. I knew the girl wasn't listening so I said it again, and she hadnt heard the first time, but didnt bother to clarify. I watched the guy make my burrito, and I'm like, that does not look like my order, and looked on my receipt and it said Thai burrito with seitan, which is not anything close to what I ordered. So I'm like, is that the tofu burrito? And he's like no, Thai. And I'm like, no I asked for a tofu burrito with no cheese, so he had to throw it away. I felt bad about it, but that is not anywhere near my order. Plus it cost $2 more for the wrong burrito and he did not reimburse me. I didn't ask to be, I didn't want to make trouble, but it would have been nice to pay only for what I ordered. He told the girl she put in the totally wrong burrito and she didn't say sorry or anything. I mean, I can get a tofu burrito at plenty of other places. I like this place because its family owned and I cant get it anywhere else. If they aren't going to have good service, then there's really no need to come back.

This is my go to Mexican place. The chipotle chicken quesadilla is great!

This place is great and the prices are rally good too. The service is quick and friendly and they will accommodate if you have a special request. My favorites are the Thai Chicken Burrito which doesn't taste like any burrito I've ever had it's so good ... I love the cabbage slaw and peanut sauce with the chicken and rice. I would also highly recommend the Fish Tacos Yum!

The Springfield area has a lot of places to get burritos but Bueno y Sano is the best I've been to so far. Their burritos are very well made and wrapped, and they have plenty of ingredients that would satisfy most people. They even have tofu and seitan, amazingly. I would say the only thing keeping me from giving them five stars is that they don't give tortilla chips, which isn't a knock on them as much as it is praise for Moe's (chain; closest location: Enfield, CT) but ByS makes a much more appetizing and seemingly healthier burrito. (Update 12/18/2013: Despite being slightly more expensive, Bueno y Sano has replaced Moe's as my go-to burrito joint. Their food just tastes better! A fifth star for consistency and excellence!)

Addictive. Ana's Taqueria in Boston is just slightly better though. By far the best in the Western Mass.

Very good fast food mexican made to order and very fresh.. I have ate there 2 times and both times had burritos , pulled pork and chicken .. both were very good. priced right and better than chipollties.. I would say about 4 1/2 stars because Mi terra is the best for mexican for me. Great lunch spot or a quick dinner location .. Parking is a little tight but have not been there when they have been busy.

Not consistent with the Amherst or Northampton locations. Different salsa, different pork. If you're gonna be the same place, be the same place please.
(2)
Brian S.
A-Okay. I prefer the one in Amherst a heck of a lot better. The last time i went here, The food was lacking and the beans tasted kinda old...and i always get the same thing...good choice of drinks, though. The atmosphere in the Amherst one is alot better, theres a disco ball!

I live in the Bay Area, where delicious giant burritos are all over the place, but let me tell you the giant burritos at this cozy little joint are among the best I've ever had. This place is right down the street from my parents' house so whenever I am visiting I make sure to stop by for a bean & cheese burrito (with guacamole & wicked hot sauce). The prices are excellent, the service is excellent, the food is excellent. Done and done.

Bueno y Sano is my favorite Mexican restaurant. All of the ingredients are fresh and the portions are huge. It is not greasy at all. They have a wide variety of options and flavors for their burritos, tacos and quesadillas. The food comes out fast and the staff is always friendly. The prices are very reasonable as well.
(5)
Sheila B.
Their ingredients are always fresh and made to order, and the price is super affordable, especially when compared to chain places like Moe's or Chipotle. Can't go wrong! The oeiginal is in Amherst with other locations in Northampton and Springfield, MA and are all run by the same people.

Glenn M.
Glad that Bueno has a local place now. I like this place because they know what they're good at and stick to it. The burritos are awesome and the stuffed jalapenos are to die for. The menu is wallet friendly and this is a great place to grab a quick lunch/dinner. I come here often and it fits well with what it provides. A quick, affordable, delicious meal with great tasting food. I will eat here many more times. Glenn.

This place is fabulous! The Seitan burrito is something special. The Seitan has a grilled flavor to it. Mmm, good. Thanks to you Yelpers! Without your recommendations I am sure that we would have never found this place nor tried it.

I liked the vibe of this place. It seemed like a local hangout, and there were hispanic cashiers and cooks, which made it feel authentic. I had high expectations but ordered their basic chicken burrito to be safe. Sadly, the burrito was nowhere near the level of Chipotle. I seriously wonder if all of these positive reviews were written by people who have never experienced the absolute joys of Chipotle. As much as I hate to support the huge chain establishments, Chipotle is simplyamazing. Can you tell I'm a diehard Chipotle fanatic? I really did hope Bueno y Sano would live up to its Yelp hype, but alas, Bueno y Sano was only mas o menos (so-so). I ::guess:: if you reallyyy need to have your burrito fix, and there isn't a Chipotle within a 20 mile radius, you could check this place out.

Crazy friendly staff; fresh, delicious, inexpensive food - you really can't ask for anything more. Well, maybe more seating as they become more popular. Oh and the parking lot SUCKS. But you forget that when you try the food. The burritos are deceptively huge so resist the urge your first time to try two or get the grande version. I usually end up getting two tacos (like mini burritos really) and my favorite is spicy pulled pork. Be sure to try the variety of homemade salsa.
(5)
Kari T.
Inexpensive, healthy, fast, flavorful burritos, tacos, quesadillas and salads. The pulled pork is as good as I've had. Rice and beans side does need a shake of salt, so bring your own shaker - no shaker here!

We frequent the Springfield location and it's one of our favorite local places for some GREAT burritos! Always delicious, always fast, and always reasonably priced!
(4)
Jess W.
Stupendously bland. Caters to a collegiate audience who values price over quality. The burritos feed a family of four yet do not satisfy a simple need for spices and, god forbid, cilantro. Best dish is the barbecued chicken quesadilla though it is mainly a vehicle for condiments. Portions are too large and greasy.

This place is cheap, nutritious and delicious :) I ordered the Garlic & Tomato slice burrito. The burrito was huge and wasn't even considered the "Grande" version you can get for 50 cents more. They really load the beans on so if you're not a fan, request light beans or no beans. The medium sauce was hotter than I expected, too. A great experience. For 15 dollars my boyfriend and I received a bottle of water, a HUGE burrito and a (Also very large) quesadilla.
(5)
Nathan L.
Great food and relatively inexpensive. They always have coupons in the local papers if you keep your eye out and your a regular. My only suggestion would be to avoid going around closing time as the quality of the food isn't as good as regular hours.
(4)
R S.
Delicious burritos and very good variety. So-so for eat-in, but we like it for take out. Portions are very generous -- I made the mistake of upsizing my burrito *and* ordering rice/beans and grilled jalapeno sides -- it was more than I could eat.

It was my first time visiting Massachusetts so after leaving the airport of course I was hungry, my friend told me about this mexican restaurant ... at first I was reluctant I was really aiming to eat something franchise wise like TGIF or chilis. Long story short I came here its a small nice little business - the food was really good everything is made from scratch and no processed fatty junk. The burritos are amazing this beat taco bell 10 to 1.

Inexpensive, good, and filling. Supposedly "sano" (healthy,) although I can't vouch for that because I always get the quesadillas. BBQ chicken here is amazing!! The burritos are big enough for two portions.

Food is fresh, fast and decently priced. The restaurant itself is on the smaller side so it may be best to get take out or go during less busy times (though I'm not sure when that would be, this is a popular place with good reason!) I am docking a star for their parking situation though, the lot is a nightmare!

I can get a seitan filled burrito or quesadilla in Springfield, MA? SWEET! Always great service and the burritos and quesadillas get the thumbs up. Writing this review is making me crave one now. Dammit!

I have tried this place a few times and don't really like it. Its mediocre. My wife like it though so I guess ill have to go back at some point..

Oh my LORD, was I excited to see this place pop up in my hometown neighborhood on one of my many trips home from Boston.... being a UMASS alum, this place is near and dear to my heart. I immediately went one afternoon with a friend for one of the babies (What I call their burritos, you know, cuz they look like a baby all wrapped up and it weighs, like, 8 lbs?) and was delighted to find that it was just as good as the one in Amherst. Yum yum yum ... I may live in Texas now where Tex-Mex is boss, but this place is still top notch in my book and I will be back everytime I come home.

The portions are huge but the flavor is lacking. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and found it very, very bland. My husband had the buffalo chicken burrito and ended up dousing it in hot sauce. It wasn't a terrible experience but we won't be back.

Seriously amazing. I don't even like mexican food, but this place is so good. I've eaten here about 6 times now and it's always perfect every time without fail. It's totally a hidden gem in springfield, but it's right on sumner ave where everyone can see.

My 5 year old Princess and I decided on Bueno for lunch today. We have been to the Amherst and Northampton locations, this was our first visit to the Springfield Bueno. This place is no frills, not nearly as decorated as the No'Ho one. There are a few tables and chairs set up inside and a few with umbrellas outside, but as you take your first bite of your burrito, the surroundings are of no issue. The tortillas are to die for, the freshest I have ever tasted. The fillings are fresh, clearly not from a bag, and perfectly put together. My favorite is the bbq chicken burrito with everything on it... The Princess orders the chicken taco. She was horrified that I didn't order her rice and beans. We took an order to go, $1.25 each, how can you beat that?!? And she is finishing it off as I type. Go to Bueno, you won't be sorry. It really IS Good & Healthy.

Best BBQ seitan burrito I have had to date. I don't consume dairy so I always get it without cheese and add the guac. I always want to try something else but I crave for the BBQ seitan burrito.

From my review of the Amherst branch, you should know I think Bueno y Sano has the best burritos in Western Mass. I think I like the Springfield location even more due to its free and abundant parking!

Very good casual Mexican. The Springfield location isn't quite as cut as the Amherst one, but the food is just as good. While I doubt that the burritos are super healthy, as a health-conscious diner I appreciate options such as salads instead of the hefty burritos and low fat yogurt instead of sour cream. There are also plentiful vegetarian filling choices like roasted veggies, seitan, and even chickpea curry. Thumbs up!

Favorite burritos ever!!!

By far, the best burrito place in Western Mass. I've tried steak, bean, chicken, and shrimp burritos. ALL are fantastic. The Nachos are HUGE, loaded with good stuff and only 5.95. Quesadillas are twice the size as Taco Bell's, fresher, and come with a big side of beans and rice. The staff there is always the same (must be family), are always friendly and super efficient. I can't recommend this place highly enough.

Savory food, not too heavy. Large portions means a coiple of taco's are filling enough. Great Horchata and authentic latino deserts. This is my favorite place in Springfield and the Pioneer Valley.

The burrito's and tacos are great. The service here is fast and the food is fresh. I think the BBQ Chicken burrito is my fav. Tons of flavor and great sauces to slather on top. A nice find with decent parking in the busy Sumner ave corridor..

Definitly the best Mexican around here. The staff are friendly and always have a smile the burritos are priced fair, you definitely will be stuffed eating one

Fresh, delicious, and worth the drive. I'm a visitor in Springfield, and wanted a really good, special, satisfying meal. Had grilled shrimp and fresh vegi quesadilla with fantastic quac. Salsa excellent. Price very reasonable. Worth the drive!

YOU HAVE TO TRY THE THAI CHICKEN BURRITO!!!! I'm Addicted!!!! Also other standouts to round out the top three burritos for me are the east/west burrito and the bbq pulled pork burrito w sour cream! Also try the steak and mushroom quesadilla! The salsa bar is a cant miss and the ingredients are incredibly fresh and its all made to order how you like it!

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

(5)Dee B.
(2)Susan N.
A good tasty BIG burrito when you want one. No frills dining. Authentic flavors. A very small dining room, order at counter and you self bus your table. I always order the steak and mushroom quesadilla. It's fantastic. Horchata was available on my recent visit too. Most meals under $10.
(4)Sarah O.
(5)Derek F.
(5)Sonja J.
(5)Erin W.
My hubs really likes this place, if he's on his own for lunch/dinner it is his go-to. I agree that the burritos are really good. I don't know if the beans and rice are really worth it, but the food in general tastes fresh and like it is seasoned well. Definitely a good value, and quick service.
(4)Marcia H.
I don't even know where to start. Been a long time since I can say best food. Had the steak quesadilla with rice and bean. Salsa is prefect. If you are looking for good food for a good price come here!!!
(5)Lindsay C.
(4)Dave M.
this is a smaller Chipotle type chain. they have a pretty similar menu as well as the prices. i guess one upside to Chipotle is you get to ask for double portion of certain sides whereas here they just make it and call your number when it's ready. it's not on the menu but you can ask for a bowl. their food was pretty good but the beef was dry and salty. the place got an interior update judging by the older pics on yelp. it looks nice and can hold about 25 people. the tables are fixed to the ground so you can't move them around. it's not my favorite place but i would recommend it.
(3)Gerard C.
Amazing find. Sautéed spinach and garlic quesadilla was delicious. Grande shrimp burrito . Salsa is worth the 50 cents. So fresh and very tasty. A+. Nice, clean and well kept interior.
(5)Juan T.
Love this location definitely consider this one the best one. Great food and fast service. I could eat here everyday. Definitely try the buffalo chicken burrito and the chicken spinach quesadilla.
(5)Scott P.

(5)ZO'raya K.
Best place to get a burrito I'm in love with this place. Food is always fresh and hot very affordable. My favorite burrito is the grande chicken burrito with sour cream hand extra Pico sauce :)
(5)Sarah S.
Perfect for a basic burrito, fast and delicious.
(4)Douglass W.
(4)Deb B.
(5)Andrew D.
Huge fan of Bueno y Sano... best Mexican in Springfield. The burritos are delicious and massive. The Chicken Bacon Ranch burrito is my "go-to"... a must try if you like spicy!
(5)El Keter B.
(2)Alex K.
My go to place for anything burrito or quesadilla like, become a regular and you won't even have to order, they just know, great service, best gauc around just eat it quickly cause it turns brown fast, compare to tbell that stays green for days, gross! Fresh, fresh, fresh! Awesome food!
(5)Grace J.
Bueno is so good it makes me want to make out with the photos off staff hanging on the walls.
(5)Mayra F.
Decent burritos nothing special . I guess coming from CA I have I high expectations. Cashier didn't seem friendly either. Salsas were not hot at all. This place shouldn't be categorized as Mexican food, not mexican at all.
(2)Cecelia B.
(2)Greg L.
11-27-2013 Update: Bueno Y Sano reached out about the offer a while back via Yelp. I just found their message and they responded favorably. I'll be back very soon. Always great food...
(5)Joseph A.
(4)Mark F.
(5)Ethel G.
Good burritos! I don't think they're quite as good as Chipotle but they're not as expensive and given that they're a local chain, I like giving them the business. Every location I have been to is great.
(4)Reina F.
Excellent Mexican food and large quantity. The price is reasonable.
(4)Brittany R.
1. The burrito's are the size of footballs (not a bad thing) 2. Tiny quaint little place, some outdoor seating 3. Noho's location is a bit better, but still pretty tasty yums I recommend :-)
(4)Madeline L.
Well, I've been back and ordered the Salvadorian burrito again and it was perfect. Must've been an off day when I went last. Definitely going back again. P.s. I love their homemade sauces, yummy.
(4)Vermillion R.
Amazing. Great food. Great prices. Made right in front of you. Love the nachos, pulled pork quesadillas, enchiladas, and barbeque chicken burritos.
(5)Eric R.
I have had everything the place has to offer and I have not been disappointed yet. I enjoy coming here on nights when I'm either to lazy to cook or just want to grab some really good take out. For the amount of food you get for the price they charge, it's hard to beat. The staff is great and service is fast.
(5)Nick L.
Bomb burritos! Everything is always great!
(5)Edward S.
(5)Shana H.
(4)R P.
Good & Healthy is a fair description of this little chain. Neat, clean, well run, nutritious and most of all - delicious!
(5)Sss L.
The food is extremely good. I brought a group of friends here once, and we ordered salads, burritos, and the quesadilla, all which were tasty. The one disappointing thing was the salsa... it was kinda watered down, and there was no discernible difference between the mild and hot salsa.
(4)Linda R.
(3)Danielle C.
My favorite place for quick burritos and soft tacos. I don't think I've ever had anything I don't like. And the woman at the front is so friendly. They also have a salsa/sauce bar with hot, mild, and salsa verde. The homemade lemonade is pretty awesome too!
(5)Brendan K.
(5)Xiao Z.
(5)Christina F.
(5)Stephanie L.

This is a great place to get Salvadorian food in Springfield. I eat here often because the prices are inexpensive and the portions are generous!
(4)Kelly S.
(2)Lin Z.

Okayish burritos, not too great but not too bad. Nothing special. The ingredients were fresh but the meal was just okay overall.

This place absolutely deserves all five stars! This hidden gem is my favorite restaurant around the Springfield area. The food is healthy, delicious and certainly feels homemade. Try everything!

(2)Brian S.

(5)Sheila B.
Their ingredients are always fresh and made to order, and the price is super affordable, especially when compared to chain places like Moe's or Chipotle. Can't go wrong! The oeiginal is in Amherst with other locations in Northampton and Springfield, MA and are all run by the same people.

(5)Kari T.
Inexpensive, healthy, fast, flavorful burritos, tacos, quesadillas and salads. The pulled pork is as good as I've had. Rice and beans side does need a shake of salt, so bring your own shaker - no shaker here!
(5)Danielle M.
We frequent the Springfield location and it's one of our favorite local places for some GREAT burritos! Always delicious, always fast, and always reasonably priced!
(4)Jess W.

(5)Nathan L.
Great food and relatively inexpensive. They always have coupons in the local papers if you keep your eye out and your a regular. My only suggestion would be to avoid going around closing time as the quality of the food isn't as good as regular hours.
(4)R S.
Delicious burritos and very good variety. So-so for eat-in, but we like it for take out. Portions are very generous -- I made the mistake of upsizing my burrito *and* ordering rice/beans and grilled jalapeno sides -- it was more than I could eat.
(4)Daniel R.
(4)Justin M.
Inexpensive, good, and filling. Supposedly "sano" (healthy,) although I can't vouch for that because I always get the quesadillas. BBQ chicken here is amazing!! The burritos are big enough for two portions.
(5)Jen M.

Dammit!
(4)Sara R.

(4)Chris S.
The portions are huge but the flavor is lacking. I ordered the chicken quesadilla and found it very, very bland. My husband had the buffalo chicken burrito and ended up dousing it in hot sauce. It wasn't a terrible experience but we won't be back.
(3)Dave M.

(5)Lauren A.
Best BBQ seitan burrito I have had to date. I don't consume dairy so I always get it without cheese and add the guac. I always want to try something else but I crave for the BBQ seitan burrito.
(5)Heather G.
From my review of the Amherst branch, you should know I think Bueno y Sano has the best burritos in Western Mass. I think I like the Springfield location even more due to its free and abundant parking!
(5)Gretchen E.

(5)Chris M.
(5)Marcos M.
Savory food, not too heavy. Large portions means a coiple of taco's are filling enough. Great Horchata and authentic latino deserts. This is my favorite place in Springfield and the Pioneer Valley.
(5)Carrie W.
Good food. Good service. Good price.
(5)William A.
The burrito's and tacos are great. The service here is fast and the food is fresh. I think the BBQ Chicken burrito is my fav. Tons of flavor and great sauces to slather on top. A nice find with decent parking in the busy Sumner ave corridor..
(4)Mike B.
Definitly the best Mexican around here. The staff are friendly and always have a smile the burritos are priced fair, you definitely will be stuffed eating one
(5)Nick G.
Fresh, delicious, and worth the drive. I'm a visitor in Springfield, and wanted a really good, special, satisfying meal. Had grilled shrimp and fresh vegi quesadilla with fantastic quac. Salsa excellent. Price very reasonable. Worth the drive!
(5)Mike B.
(5)Jessica K.
If you are looking for a delicious, cost effective, burrito go here! There food is delicious! They have an assortment of burritos, tacos, and quesadillas. I could eat here every day!
