I read a lot of negative comments about this place. I did not experience any of it. I only had the burger n fries but fries crispy n hot seemed coated which is good. I've had them before several places so they mute than likely sysco...which again good. The burger was a fresh patty. I asked medium and it was perfect and served on chibotta bread. Beer 2$ can tecate very reasonable. Only negative noticed was burger could use some salt and pepper, lettuce was chopped which makes kind of a mess but over all a good experience. Staff very friendly and pretty Dmn fast especially on Friday. Good job! Ill try it again if it holds up ill increase rating.

This place has decent food and good service. It is open for dinner only and open late, I honestly can't say that I have not seen this placed packed when I come here in the later evening hours. It seems like the people within the local area really enjoy it as well as guest that stay at the hotel that it is connected to.

No stars! I've dined in before but will never again order carryout! Woman rang in the wrong meal and said she never put in our order for chips and guacamole but when she got our order the guacamole was in the bag and then it wasn't!

Serious Customer Service issues at this location. Never had such a blatantly rude server in my life. If you are an airline employee staying at the attached Comfort Inn and Suites, don't bother with this place, they'll treat you like vermin.

Food was alright, atmosphere and service was horrible. Our waiter did nothing except take our order. Other girls came to bring us our food and drinks and see if we needed anything. The music was so loud I could barely hear my boyfriend across the table and the songs were being selected from a group of wasted underage looking girls near the jukebox. We sat at our table having finished our food and drinks for about 20 minutes with no sign of our waiter to ask for our check. I had to get up and go to the bar and ask the bartender to have someone bring us the bill. Just terrible.

Seriously, it's a hotel restaurant. I had outstanding service at the bar. And where else do you get free chips and salsa. Extra large Sam Adams IPA cause I'm not Margarita type. I'm a traveler who got in late and totally enjoyed my visit. It is what is is and it ain't bad at all.

I actually was pleasantly surprised by the salad I got considering some of the reviews. I got the Avocado Shrimp Chopped Salad with the Tequila Lime Vinaigrette dressing. The dressing was amazing and I was happy to see the shrimp were good sized. I enjoyed my meal here very much. My server was very friendly and attentive.

I was very pleasantly surprised. The prices were very good for a hotel bar in Boston, although it is outside Boston...but still. The Margaritas are good and just enough alcohol. The free salsa was great- smoky and spicey, I totally would buy it on a store. Chips weren't what you getat a good place back home (Chicago) but were fine...hubby liked them a lot. would def go back off I stay at the comfort inn again

I am not sure what was wrong in this restaurant but none of the important items in one restaurant were near as good as they need to be. Bartender on shift on Sunday night, October 26, 2014 looked like he hated his job and would rather be somewhere else this evening. I ordered seared tuna salad. After asking 2 times about the status of the salad I ordered 25 minutes ago, it was served by a lady who also looked like not enjoying what she does. Tuna was stone cold. I asked to speak to a Manager on Duty. Young fellow, named Matt, came I explained that I understand that it takes some time to prepare a salad, but it rather took a long time and I was disapointed that the fish was cold. He stated that this is how a seared tuna should be prepared. I replied that it was not my first time eating seared tuna and as long as the meal is delivered right after it has been prepared, fish should be stil hot. Then he said that they have had some problems in the kitchen. I got upset and announced that I wish not to dine in their establishment. He did not appologize, just picked up the dish and left. I waited for another 5 minutes. noone came to say anything to me and I started walking towards the entrance to Comfort Inn hotel where I was a guest for the night. On the way back to the hotel I saw the Shift manager passing by. He saw me and just rushed back. I asked one of the girls for a business card and name of the owner. She politely gave the information requested. Then I saw the floor around me - discusting. Dirty, full of paper, small pieces of food all over. it made me sick and I was really happy I did not eat there.

We tried two margaritas - both of which were okay, not WOW. For food we had the jalepeno bites and some sort of platter with an enchilada. Not bad overall, but not WOW either. The chips were good, the salsa was ok - like a can of chopped tomatoes with some hot sauce mixed in. The pricing was also on the higher end for the quality of the food..... Service was not great either. We came in and sat down, our waitress wanted our drink orders and then completely forgot to bring us food menus (even though we requested them). She finally brought them, and then kept forgetting about us thereafter. Will not be back - even if we stay at the adjoining hotel again.

Went here on Friday because it was lent and right by my friends work. We came in and had to wait to be seated. After getting a table near the bar, we ordered. It took easily 45 minutes for the food to come. While my fish tacos were good, other plates at the table were not cooked properly. The steak was cooked unevenly and the chicken was over cooked. Not to mention the margaritas were over priced. Stick to beer.

When I'm craving Mexican food near my house Margaritas does not disappoint. Although this is a chain I found the ingredients to be fresh and all the food tasty and reasonably priced. My favorite is their chicken chimichanga. They have a decent size bar with a wide variety of tequilas and margaritas, the drinks here are not overly pricey either. The restaurant is pretty clean and the staff was mostly friendly. They do take out, which is great because I live close by. Don't let the fact that it is located inside a comfort in steer you away.

I Like the Margaritas in Waltham, this place in Revere is a dump. Ordered the carne asada with black beans, with peppers and onions. I felt like Robert Irvine from restaurant impossible, BEFORE he makes changes to the menu. Over cooked steak with no flavor, beans were watered down with no flavor( it was like they sat there forever and they tried to bring them back to life by using water, and I got 2 slices of green pepper to about 25 onions, made no sense. The manager Wendy comes over, tells me essentially that I don't know how carne asada should taste, but then says to me she is going to personally execute my next order, so I went with the basic fajitas, hard to screw up. Same crap black beans and marginal at best meat with the chicken to steak ratio not being equal, as I asked for the combo. I didn't want to complain again, so I asked for the check. Wendy was so nice to have removed the food I didn't eat from the bill, thanks for going out of the way! (Strong sarcasm) So I end up buying 2 meals for my guest and I, that we didn't enjoy, and I got to spend a couple hours of time I'll never get back at this horrible restaurant. Do not waste your time unless it is out of pure convenience

Terrible food. Extremely bland tacos that one has to doctor up in order to have some semblance of flavor as a true taco. The bar area smells like wet mops and rags. The salsa is just diced tomatoes and green peppers sans any true chili for spice or a kick. An entirely underwhelming experience.

Very sweet bartender, but the place smelled like vomit. If it wasn't within the hotel (with not much else around), I would've left.

The food here is usually pretty good here; however, service can be varied. Tonight wasn't very good for service. She was very friendly and tried to up sale. She was slow coming to the table, taking the order, picking up the check, and never brought the 2nd bowl of chips. The hostess said it was a 25 min wait even though 40% of the tables were empty. We asked if short on staff she said no just the kitchen was behind. They sat us a table so we could wait and have a drink or two before we could order. My food was very good, but my wife said hers was not great and would not order it again.

Excellent enchiladas. Homeade salsa is very tastey! Great bar with lots of seating and several beers on tap to include XX and Sam Adams. Artie the bartender is attentive and helpful. Several tv's to watch the game in hi-def. Kitchen is open until 11 pm (M-Th) and 12 AM (F-Sa). Bar closes at 1 am with last call at 12:30 am.

This is by far the most disgusting place I've ever eaten at. My fork was rusty, the Mango Margarita tasted extremely sour, the waitress was not friendly, my chips were dipped in grease(I have the greasy iPhone to prove it), and as if the food wasn't disgusting enough, I had to deal with two annoying toddlers screaming because they wanted to drink hot sauce and a mediocre mother who obviously is the poorest excuse for mothering!!!!

I love Margarita's Lime in the Coconut margarita, which is really the only reason why I'll choose them over Border Cafe. It's the perfect balance without being overly sweet. The downside is that the prices are a bit steep for me (another reason Border's is my go to). The food is good and I love the spicy salsa they serve with chips. This location isn't open for lunch as far as I know. I went around 3:00pm one day and the doors were locked. I do like how it's right in front of the local RMV... you can slam back a few beers to de-stress after getting a license renewal (but don't get a DUI, or else you're right back where you started y'all). They have been advertising non-stop about their 1 app and 2 entrees for $25 deal. I tried it and am not a fan - no offense Margarita's! The app we got was guacamole... aka 4 melon ball sized scoops of the stuff. My fajitas were good though, and my guest's salad was good. I just don't think it's really a "deal" when it would have ran us $25-$27 to begin with. A buy one get one (BOGO) offer might be cool! Either way I'll be back for a LITC marg at some point.

Me and my girlfriends love to go out to celebrate birthdays together, and usually this is the restaurant of choice for us. We like to stay at the bar area, with the music blasting, and happy people around us (we are a very loud group of women). The food is good, and the drinks are really well made!

Margaritas, does, in fact, have delicious Margaritas. If you want something potent get the Heavens to Margaritatoid, which has seven different liquors and is the color of a wet baby blanket, but is surprisingly not bad tasting when you get past all that. If you want something decadent get the Rusellrita which is an extremely creamy mix of strawberries and raspberries. The food is your basic, nothing to creative, Mexican food-exactly what I like. Chips and salsa are a bit above average-the salsa is extra spicey! Guacamole is good but I don't think they give you enough of it-I can't bathe in it. I've tried the enchiladas, the fajitas, and the chicken avocado salad and been satisfied with all of them. My most recent waitress was very sweet and chased me out to the car when I, in typical fashion, left my credit card in the restaurant. I have frequented the ones in Nashua and Manchester and had some less than awesome service. Apparently there used to be a parrot outside. This may be an urban legend. If the parrot still resided, they would certainly get 5 stars. Also, the staff will randomly place sombreros on you when you arn't looking. I like that.

Don't come here if you're expecting authentic Mexican food... Come here if you're expecting good times, good drinks, decent service, and spicy salsa. I've been coming for years for cheap, mexi-american cheesy spicy food. Sometimes that's all I want. It's not like I'm going to be recommending this place for their food but I would recommend this place for a good happy hour and chill spot.

Certainly an okay place for my bestie and I to wait out the absurd lightining storm June 1. I vowed not to order anything besides margaritas, but we all know how that story ends. I was very impressed with the salsa and chips. Comparing them with the Border and Fat Cactus, they are the clear winner. We ordered the guacamole, the queso fundido, and the chicken baby chimis just to nosh. The guacamole was bland and bad news, the chicken chimis tasted like sliced turkey and american cheese rolled up in a wrap (or, they tasted like nothing), and the queso fundido was extremely rubbery but mysteriously addictive. I'm a cheese fiend, so I will literally eat any cheese. Now onto the bevs. With the first sip of my sour apple margarita, I thought "WOW, they put the tequila right in the straw. Bartender trick." It didn't really even taste of sour apple, just some slushy tequila run-off water. Meh. My pomegranate margarita was better, but I didn't set the bar really high. Maybe I ordered the wrong things? I didn't like my friend's coco loco or whatever it was called either. Verdict: there are plenty of Tex Mex restaurants in Revere and Saugus not to waste your time on Margaritas. I just ask why are there so many popping up around here? Franchise Frenzy.

I tried the Cabo Wabo margarita. Meh- not a fan. But I do enjoy the Sangrias. Seems to me that this location is a bit pricier than the one in Portsmouth. Probably because its in the lobby of a hotel. I'll be honest. The food isn't that good. And it gave me a tummy ache. Our server was not so great either. Maybe he was new? But he did turn down the horrible pop rock they had blasting for my grandma. That was nice of him.

The mexican food is uninspired, but it is a big ol' pile of spicy cheese, guacamole, chiles, tortillas, rice and beans. I kind of love that. They serve Dos Equis Amber in these HUGE glasses with two slices of lime. I can safely store many servings inside me. The bartenders are sassy, and this location is FANTASTIC for people-watching. It's the restaurant of the connected hotel...so there's always a chance for a hooker sighting! But they lose a star for being in Severe. Boo to that.

I always been skeptical of restaurants connected to hotels. I was so surprised how great the food and service was. For desert I had the dream taco. crispy fired tortilla stuffed with cheesecake, strawberries, and chocolate sauce. If you are in Revere swing by for some great mexican.

Decent tex-mex restaurant right on the main strip. Prices are decent, as is the food. I've had a few service issues here, most often with the hostess actually (just being rude). If I'm in the area I'd consider this place, but with plenty of other Mexican and tex-mex restaurants, I often go elsewhere.

This place is a joke, food took over 1 hour while the restaurant was completly empty may I add! Then the food came and it was so bad! I got the carnitas chimichanga horrible it tasted frozen and it was lukewarm. Ive given this place so many chances and they never seem to fix there mistakes! Honestly there are so many good non-chain restaurants out there dont waste your money on this garbage!

My friends and I go to Margarita's at least once a week and hang out in the lounge. Being from Winthrop, there's not many places we can go without going into Boston, and Margarita's is just perfect. We've been going there for years and have become friends with quite a few of the waitresses. They are all super sweet and friendly and definitely the reason we go back. The margaritas are delicious and a 20 oz of bud light is $4.50 a piece. Plus you get free chips and salsa. The food is really good too, particularly the nachos and the chicken baby chimichangas. I've also had the burritos and those are good too. Granted, it's a chain and they're popping up all over the place but if you're looking for a place to just chill without going too far, it's perfect. I'll probably be there this weekend. Oh and it's technically "Tio Juan's Margarita's Mexican Restaurant and Watering Hole."

Hell Yes Margaritas Bar!!! I stayed in the Comfort Inn for a week scoping out Boston before I migrated here from down South. And where did I spend 4 outta 5 nights that week? Down in the ol' Watering Hole! Oh sure, my boyfriend and I strove to do more glamorous things that week... but all plans were foiled after we made up our mind to try EVERY SINGLE MARGARITA on the menu. And we did. And it was awesome. Heavens to Margatroid was by farrrrrr the best of the lot. Whatever that Mango crap was sucked. Chips... just .... kept ... coming.... and in the end I was so filled with grease, tequila, and salt that the last few of the bunch had to be smuggled out in coffee cups. Bonus points for the commute "home" simply involving an elevator.

A mixed review for Margaritas. I sat at the bar with a group of friends from work one afternoon and ordered from their margarita menu, something with raspberries in it. When I took the first sip I was asking myself, "Does this have alcohol in it? Why would I order a Margarita with no alcohol??" The bartender told me that one didn't have alcohol (yet a friend orders the same thing 20mins later and hers does have alcohol). I was thoroughly confused. Take 2... I receive a Spider Cider Margarita and I feel a lot better, a hint of apple and sour mix with tequila..yum yum. I ordered from the lunch menu and I was disappointed that my "Enchiladas" (plural) turned out to be one sad but tasty enchilada and a pile of rice and beans, not really enough to fill a very hungry person. We had about 6 people in our party at the time and the bartender brought chips and salsa to one end of the group but not the other. We had to remind him to bring some to our end, but he only brought chips- no salsa?? 3 stars, for yummy margaritas (once the alcohol is added) and tasty food yet not big enough portions for a hungry person and the poor service received at the bar.

First of all, the correct, full name is Tio Juan's Margaritas. Just throwing that out there because, really, how funny is that? "Uncle John's Margaritas." Right there in the Comfort Inn in Revere. I've been here once. Right before Halloween so there were plenty of decorations and waitstaff fully costumed and all (and also it happened to be the night of their monthly full moon celebration). Getting there was somewhat of an ordeal (see review for Tunnel Taxi...) so once my friend and I finally arrived we were very curious. Turns out, we were not disappointed. The spicy margarita was AWESOME as were the various appetizers we ordered. No complaints here! Just don't take a Tunnel Taxi home...

My partner and I dined here in June 23, 2010 while staying at the Comfort Inn and Suites attached to this restaurant. I thought this was a very good restaurant and definitely recommend it even though it is part of a chain. Our food was very delicious and good sized portion too. Our waitress, Jessica was friendly, and very efficient and she made our dining experience memorable. We love drinking margaritas and she recommended the "lime in the coconut" margarita and it was fantastic. We each had two of them and I'd like to have some more right now! If you are looking for a relaxing, casual dining experience with good Mexican food, then this restaurant will suit you just fine.

Once you step in, it's like you're in the Mexico section of Disney World, the deco is fun and festive but it's a little too dark, and the mexican music they had on was too loud. Right when we sat down, our server brought us some chips and dip, the dip was awesome and zingy but the chips were cold and hard. Their prices are a bit pricey for Buritos, Fajitas, and Quesadilla's but once your food gets to your table, man! it's a FEAST and real tasty! Honestly, one of the tastiest I've ever tasted. Margaritas are awesome there, although, I wish they'd put a little more alcohol in there... I'll definitely go back there for the food and for the one margarita they have which includes 7, yes.....7 different liquors!

My boyfriend and I went here last Saturday night for dinner. It seemed odd that it was pretty much empty at 7:00 pm but oh well. The chips and salsa were really good. The chips were warm and not too salty and the salsa was hot just the way I like it. I had the chile rellanos (sp?) stuffed with cheese and pork. It was tasty, rice was ok as were the black beans. My boyfriend had the chimichanga with steak I think, can't remember for sure. He really liked his as well. Neither one of us had a margarita so I can't coment on the drinks. My boyfriend was slightly annoyed by the cheesy music but I barely noticed it. Our waitress, Jessica was very friendly and quick with the drink refills which always makes me happy. My boyfriend and I both agreed we would come back.

Very fresh and delicious free chips and salsa! they have a baked enchilada dish that is absolutely the best! It has three enchiladas, chicken, sirloin and pico!!! Yumm! ...The margaritas go without saying.

If you're coming to Margaritas for the food then you're setting yourself up for disappointment. The drinks are however are phenomenal. True to it's name Margaritas serves up some great margaritas. Personal favorite would be the Hornitos margarita. Other highlights are the chips and salsa. The salsa is really good. Definitely better than Border Cafe or similar Mexican restaurants. The crowd itself can leave something to be desired. Typical Revere people though I shouldnt complain because i'm one of them.

First and foremost, the service was extremely friendly. Not the quickest I have ever seen, but they were slammed and I didn't have to wait. This is a case of service with a smile. The chips were way too salty. Not my thing at all. One of the best Margaritas I have ever had, no doubt. The food was not spicy which was good. I was surprised at the amount of taste in the veggie burrito. Layered taste. Really enjoyed it. Would not hesitate to eat and for sure drink here again.

I'm not into mexican food like my boyfriend is. But I do love their complimentary chips and salsa (awesome salsa). And I must say, I'm a margarita kind of girl so I love their Sauza Extra Gold Margarita, on the rocks with salt ofcoarse ;) Each time I've been I've got their Shrimp Skewers plate which is really good, so I cant complain. The waiters actually wear sombreros :D

I find myself here quite often, for whatever reason. It may be mediocre overall, but I still manage to have myself serious fun whenever I'm there. Even when I'm not drinking. They have splendid iced tea, for one, which they will serve with lemon when requested. They have a jukebox that will download all types of music, however unpopular. The chips are usually hot and well-seasoned. The vegetarian menu is actually pretty extensive, and the food's decent. I had a vegetarian quesadilla the last time I visited, and it was filled with all kinds of roasted vegetables. Service is generally good. So yeah, maybe it's chain-ish and whatever, but it's a pretty good place to chill and grab some food and drinks with friends.

I don't know what it is, but I absolutely LOVE this place. I have loved Margaritas for years and years. I first encountered Margaritas growing up in my hometown of Mystic, Connecticut. I actually didn't even know it was a chain restaurant until I moved to Massachusetts. My favorites: The free chips and salsa when you sit down. The salsa is amazing and you can actually purchase some to bring home. I also love the Beef Chimichungas!
(5)

After hearing their "paper mache" cockatoo ad for about a month a friend and I decided to give it a shot. We arrived and were told where to sit, waited 40 mins to have someone take our order (We were the only ones there)! Right when we decide to leave someone comes over with menus and all she could do was laugh, not even apologize. Since we were hungry we decided to stay. The food came out in decent time but tasted like someone accidentally dropped the entire lemon juice bottle on it. I assumed it was just mine till my friend commented on her giant lemon dish as well. We had taken 2 bites and decided it was to ridiculous to even stay. Abandoned food, Paid, no tip left. That was the last time I ever set foot into a margaritas.

Margaritas serves up predictable Mexican food and decent drinks in a festive, though occasionally sticky atmosphere. Not a place to go if you're trying to impress someone, but if you're in the area and don't feel like cooking, this place will do. The location in Waltham felt a lot less mediocre - I used to go there frequently when I lived in Watertown. The service at the Revere location was slow and the waitress seemed out of it.
(3)
Keith D.
I've been here about 6 or 7 times. The food and atmosphere are good. The bartenders and servers in the dining area are good. I would recomend going here if you can get a seat at the bar or plan on sitting in the dining area. The pub table staff seem too busy, but the place is a nice casual night out.

Once you avoid getting slammed into by the Comfort Inn-mobile zooming around the corner with airport passengers, you may step inside Margaritas. I tried the Lime in the Coconut margarita which was a pleasant surprise! Super yummy lime traditional marg with creamy coconut tasted delish. I got a steak en adobo (was warned it was spicy - IT WAS) which came with a huge salad. He got a giant sampler of burritos per the norm. They were probably the same as always - I didn't eat them. I like the lounge atmosphere and will only sit in there. On a Saturday night the music is pure 90's stuff you definitely forgot about. Suddenly you are transported back to watching 90210 in your basement and laughing out loud. Weird mix, but it works. Totally Revere's finest.

This place, for a chain restaurant, is so good! The chips and salsa, excellent... The fajitas, superb.... My favorite fajita is the adabo (sp?) sauce, its got a lot of heat if you like spicy! I do! The reason I didn't give this place 5 stars is because I have yet to receive good to great bar service... the staff never seems to be on the ball and you can always see them grouped together chatting while people are waiting to order another drink... but I love the food so much I wont let that stop me from going there.

energetic atmosphere, really good margaritas and the best fajitas around! their salads in the huge tortilla bowl are also very flavorful and unique. wish i lived closer. i love sitting in the bar area; you always meet the craziest people there hehe. i believe you can also pay to play the music of your choice, and they had some nine inch nails to choose from, which is always fun. the only negative thing i have to say about this place, is that i went there once for a lunch date without looking up their hours, and i think it was about 2 pm and they were closed!

By far my favorite Mexican restaurant. Well, OK the location sucks and yes, it's a new england chain but I've been headed to this south of the border watering hole well before I moved to the Boston area. So I was quite pleased when they decided to open up a branch closer to my home. I contend that you aren't going to find a better margarita anywhere. Yes, that includes cottonwood, cactus club and border cafe... no competition. I say this with many years of sampling the margs in Boston and I ALWAYS go back to Margaritas... it's the gold standard! The food is always tasty (and plentiful) and the staff top notch. Now, if I could only convince them to open a spot WITHIN Boston I'd never have to leave. PS- They also have a location in Waltham for those not brave enough to venture to Revere.

Just brave Shirley Ave & go to Tacos Lupita. Margarita's is one of those terrible tex-mex places that serves grilled whatever-it-is in so much cheese you have to love it! The food is awful. I never go during peak hours and the service is always slow. I went numerous times with a vegan friend who made it very clear she was vegan and didn't want cheese, so she got food covered in sour cream. After that, she claimed a milk allergy, and her meal came out drenched in cheese anyhow. I wish I'd found the better Mexican places in the area sooner than I did. Also, never order fish tacos. No one is ever happy with fish tacos.

As much as I'd like to give this establishment (located in the lobby of the Comfort Suites) a shining review, I cannot. We discovered Margaritas because it was conveniently located in the bottom floor of our hotel, and after a long 10 day excursion throughout the entire New England area we hesitated to travel into the city for dinner the night before we flew home. I should have known something was amiss when our waitress did not visit the table until 10 minutes or so after we were seated. We waited an unacceptable 10 more minutes for drinks, one of which this location was out of. The entire restaurant was empty, with the exception of a few tables near the bar, you'd think the waitstaff would be a paragon of service. The drinks while tasty, were not a good value for what was served & the food also while acceptable for weary travelers was also a far cry from the price the menu commanded. I'd say the only saving grace was the delightful atmosphere, although it was not enough for me to give you a positive rating on yelp.com . One hour and forty minutes later when the check arrived ( and we were hoping for a quick dinner!) the before mentioned drink that the location was out of was still on our bill. When I went to the service stand to call this to the attention of our waitress, I guess the Manager on duty didn't realize I was within earshot when he yelled at the waitress making comments such as "how many drinks did you serve them?"and "they were probably drunk and looking for a freebie" before begrudgingly removing the errant glass of Merlot. I have to say I will never visit another Margaritas again, I'd rather eat out of the hotel vending machine. At least the service is better and I'd happily overpay for overpriced funyuns than subject myself to nearly two hours of wait for a disappointing Mexican meal 100 dollar+ price tag. No thank you.

i was just contacted by a new manager, who went out of his way to contact me after reading my review. part of it i already take back is the bad food comment (i love their food, chimichongas and fried ice cream) but i will talkto the gm and probably delete my bad review cuz i think that is highly respectable for some1 to reach out to me

This place is worth the drive. The margaritas are so good here. If you want something potent, I agree with others, get the delicious Heavens to Margatroid. If you like coconut though, the BEST margarita I've ever had in my whole life is the Lime in the Coconut frozen, with Tarantula tequila and Chambord. Order it just like that. Gosh it is so good, you will not be disappointed. I always get the enchiladas muchacha, which is just a bunch of cheese on a plate with different meats. Their chips and salsa are also the best around.

No problems here! We saw the mixed reviews and we weren't sure about going. When you are staying at the Comfort Inn, it just seems like a no brainer. We found the food quite tasty and correctly prepared. The chips and salsa are fantastic! The salsa has a little kick to it. We shared a fried ice cream with honey dripped over it for desert! Oh my! A must try in my opinion. Prices were fairly good and access from the hotel is ridiculously easy. Give it a try. Our experience was quite good. The music made us laugh though.

ok the food there is pretty good have to admit, chips and salsa delish! drinks not so strong, at all... and service they are nice.. but the service is terrible, you order a drink or anything for that matter they seem to ALWAYS forget, and takes them prob anywhere from half hour to an hour, so if they do come by to check be sure to order what u'll be needing in the next hour.. and i've been MANY times.. so im not complaining because i do go back, foods really good.. its mexican hard to go wrong. Takes forever for your food to come out!, and most of all WAY OVER PRICED FOR EVERYTHING! me an my friend went there for dinner the other night and i got the chimichangas, they got enchiladas ($14 each) 2 beers each $44 bill then + tip..

I came here for my graduation on June 9th and it was absolutely amazing. The chimi baby and taquitos for appetizers were extremely delicious. My mother ordered the taco salad and found it to be very good and I chose the enchilada and it was amazing. Even the sides were good. The staff is very friendly. The only downfall is the slow service. I will definitley be coming back

The place is downstairs from the Comfort Inn. Great chips and salsa. The burrito was alright and it will fill you up. I'll come back just to try the Margaritas.

I stayed at the Holiday Inn in the same building, and was too lazy to walk to get food. But this place surprises me. Their fish burritos is GOod, it's got crust around the filet which they put inside of the burritos to give that crunchy-ness. It was worth the 15 minutes wait for one burrito. However, the portion isn't as big as the ones I have down in Texas, Los Angeles or New Jersey, but it was enough to fill my tummy, and I'm a 6ft tall guy. So if you are super duper hungry you might have to order two

I am staying at the revere comfort inn for a week. Saw a lot of pictures of this mexican joint in the elevators and decided to try it. Food - They served warm nachos with salsa. I personally did not like the salsa. For entrees Chicken chimichanga - My friend really liked the chimichanga. Salmon salad - I d prefer a larger slice of salmon and lesser oil in the salad. The beans were good. Ambience and service - Not bad. Cost - ~25 per pax with a drink. Have jad much better mexican food for the price.

Just arrived in Boston and Mexican was last thing I was thinking about. That being said I had great waitress, the food was solid and prices just right. The food is good but doesn't stand out. Attempting to be authentic Mexican they need to pay more attention to quality of ingredients than delivery of food. All said you won't be disappointed with the service, food and price you pay here.

Wow! I'm impressed with this place! First of all, the bartender, Justin, is awesome! I came here with my boyfriend...expecting a burrito place. Instead, I discovered a realty great place with yummy food!!

For Mexican the quality was above expected. The food did take a little long to come but the food was flavorful and good portion size. They even had pulled beef called brazed.beef.

Just visited this location for a late night bite to eat. Good service but the beer I ordered was warm. Also I had the fish tacos and they were small and not much fish. Nice ambience for a local place. Overall 3 stars..

The food was bland...pop tart bland...perhaps that's too nice...the food was paper plate bland with a mix of overly spiced hot sauce in large proportions. The drinks were never the same ... Perhaps a bartender with no recipe book...or no concept of portion sizing...overall...not worth the money.

Our waitress was only on the job for the second day so it was a pretty...lacking experience. Our drinks were not refilled, some were forgotten, and food was mixed up. Of course it's understandable--everyone is nervous at the start of the job and service here has been ok on my other visits. I regularly get the russelrita here so I was not at all disappointed. It's basically a frozen juice drink with little to no alcohol. Don't order a salad here. Mine came out hardly dressed with a miserable portion of coconut shrimp. Did I cry? Internally. The plus side of margarita's....ahem, the only plus side of margarita's is the fresh chips. Anything else is a drunk's experiment with tortillas, a microwave, and an unlimited supply of cheese.

Decor is over the top and most of it, unnecessary. However, it sets averts in mood and creates an ambience the likes of which you would like to find in Mexico. Hostess looked at me like I was crazy for walking in there. No name and wasn't quite as enthused as I was for being there. Mind you, I was very enthused. She asked if I wanted to sit in the lounge or the dining room. I inquired what the difference was and upon her answer, chose the dining room over the lounge/bar. The dining room was deserted other than 4 booths being occupied by a total of 10 people. A quick glance at the lounge revealed another 5 people in there. It worried me a little that for a Saturday night this joint was not as packed as it should be. My server came over with the free chips and salsa and offered her name. She was professional and took my drink and starter order quickly. However, a smile would've been nice. I tried the chips and salsa which were your standard chips and salsa. Out of a can salsa and out of a bag chips. I understand when franchises do that but for a proper restaurant to do so, didn't leave me very hopeful for the rest of my dinner. On top of it all, the salsa was very salty and the chips seasoned properly so, it was salt overload. However, my server was no where in sight with my beverage. 10 minutes later she returned with a water and a soda and turned around and left. About another 10 minutes later, she returned with my starters. I order the chicken baby chimichangas and the house made fresh guacamole with pineapple. They looked great and I did get a bit excited as she placed them in front of me. However, that was the end of my excitement. I dove into the chimichanga and to my dismay, they were lukewarm and very lightly seasoned. The chicken inside was dry and while the shell was crispy, it seemed too oily because of its temperature. It came with a side of guacamole and sourcream but, they didn't really add any flavor to it whatsoever. The house made fresh guacamole with pineapple was the biggest let down. Bland, bitter because of the onions and too over priced for the amount I received. There were literally 11 chunks of canned pineapple sprinkled on top and did nothing to enhance the flavor. For guacamole worth $6.99 + $1.00 for pineapple, I expect it to be amazing and full of freshness and lightness. Not just a texture-less dollop of paste. It came with two fried crispy corn tortillas which were cold and again, not seasoned. Before I even had a chance to take a few bites of my starters, another worker, I assume the manager, brought my entree. I had ordered the "from the land combo tacos". Again, the presentation was great. However, as were the starters, the tacos were also a let down. I bit into the chicken taco and the chicken was dry, over cooked and cold. Took a bite of the pork taco and it was chewy and inedible and bland. The steak taco was drenched in bbq sauce which overpowered any other flavor and left me wanting water to wash out the taste. Because I was starving, I ended up eating all three but, in the end a total let down. The savior of the meal; the corn tortillas of all three tacos. I doubt the restaurant had anything to do with it other than selecting which prepackaged product to use but, good choice nonetheless. My server came around again after I was done and at this point, finally with a smile, asked if I'd like anything else. Another water it was for me and with the delivery of the water, she brought me the check. After receiving my card, she once again vanished for 10 minutes before she came back with the receipt. I left her a 25% tip for the fact that she offered her name and smiled at the end and I truly believe that servers should be tipped well. But, she didn't quite earn it for anything other than that. The entire dinner service for one took an hour exact even though the food was pushed out of the kitchen very rapidly. Next time I'm in the area, I will definitely not be returning here unless there is a drastic change to the extensively large menu of microwaved and bland dog food served here.

Love the mad melon margarita. That's about it. Stopped getting food when my quesadilla had a black hair in it back in Jan...then last month both my boyfriend and I had chips and salsa and threw up later that night. He didn't even have a drink so couldn't be that. I don't know very sad used to enjoy the atmosphere. Staff is always kind and considerate

My family and I have been here many times but this last time was bad from start to finish. Hostess seats us and there we sit for 10 minutes or so with no one coming over. I finally get up and go back to the hostess station to ask for a waitress or waiter to come to the table. It seems the hostess forgot to tell him he had a table however he was dealing with a table right next to us so how he did not notice us is beyond me. Finally get our drink orders and starter in, drinks came not long after. Brings our starter out then we had to ask for more napkins. Finally puts in our food order and it took forever for it to come. I don't get it either because they were not that busy. Food was good but no extra sour cream that my husband ordered, had to get a different person to bring that. We finally finish our meal and never saw the waiter again. Had to ask a different person to get us our check at that point. Mind you I was with two young kids, had he had asked we would have ordered dessert. Oh well his loss. In conclusion food was good but the service was horrible from beginning to end. Makes me sad because my family really likes Margarits. Also manager was around and stopped at other tables but not ours.

Food was below average. Our waitress was rude and annoyed by her job. The ugly burgundy carpet was dirty and sticky. Food was overpriced for a below average restaurant in Revere! The manager was nice.

Wow what an amazing experience this place was! We stayed in the hotel at the location of this bar and decided to try this place out on our first night of a business trip. We came in for some food and kept coming back for the each remaining night of our trip. The main reason we came back was because of the most amazing bartenders here. Justin was our bartender for the first two nights and not only where his drinks amazing but the only thing better was his personality, and customer service. We came back our last night and while we missed Justin we were lucky enough to have an amazing bartender in Linda who again was absolutely fantastic. We would absolutely come back here just to experience such service again. Thank you Justin and Linda! See you next time we are Boston.

The only good thing about this restaurant is the free chips and salsa. Everything else from there went downhill. I ordered the Carne asada steak tacos. they came out cold and had absolutely no flavor. I ordered the side of beans and rice along with the tacos. It was ok. The other people I was with didn't like them at all. I also ordered a side of queso. If you're expecting white queso, that's not what you're going to get. If you're just expecting good queso you're not getting that either. It was thick and gross. All around this place sucks. Worst attempt at Mexican food ever!!!! YUCK.

its a cool yet different type of place to go very different crowd very much on the older older side with a big mix of young to middle age not where i would wanna get crazy on a fri night but for a simple night of drinks its cool,,,u cant go wrong with the chips and salsa but the fajitas combo def very small compared to the one on rt 1 not impressive.. actually disappointing, but the drinks are strong..

Great little Mexican restaurant. The location does blow but the the chips and dip are to die for and the food is good. I was a little disappointed on the size of the meals but I mainly only go for drinks. They make them hard and the crowd is friendly. The staff is very nice and they have music playing with a lively atmosphere. I encourage people to go here and try a nice authentic Mexican dish and grab a margarita you won't be displeased.

The fish tacos are the only decent thing on the menu IMHO. But this is a fun place to go and kick back. Bartenders are really nice, therefore four stars.

I went here two days ago for a little get together with some co-workers and I can say that everyone was very satisfied with their drinks! I had the mango tangarita served cold and slushy and it was veryyyy good. I started sipping from the bottom with my straw and it was kind of strong so I felt nice pretty fast =) Margaritas are good sized and are about $7. The chips were good, salsa was very spicy, but good too. For dinner I had the tequila cilantro chicken with rice and the cilantro salad. I don't know if I was just really hungry or drunk, but it was delicious! The two pieces of chicken was very tender and I love the tequila cilantro sauce is so tasty. The small bed of rice was very soft and flavorful as well. There wasn't anything special about the salad though, just a regular salad with the same cilantro sauce that's on the chicken. This entree goes for a bout $14 and that seems to be the average price for most of the entrees, a little pricey for their portions, but pretty much typical, plus my entree was very good. Also, the fajitas and quesadillas that everyone else had looked very good too. Maybe it's just because I went on a Saturday, but the place was so busy and packed; the fact that they share a parking lot with the hotel is a real downer because we probably spent like 10 minutes circling the parking lot until we found a spot. Highly recommend this place a night of drinking and Mexican food though, or a 21st b-day party. Someone from the group behind us had so much fun they barfed in the booth, very unappetizing, but kind of funny!

I'll bend with the grain and agree this place is right about the 2.5 - 3 star arena. I tried this place twice this trip because not only was it inside my hotel, but it was just too darn humid (especially hoofing it the way I always do) and the stay too darn short to go to all the places I've read about here on Yelp. The first time was actually an enjoyable experience. I walked through the door around 8. It's nice and dim in there so it's perfect for drinking with your pals or whispering to your SO. Service was way friendly and solicitous even though all I had was a glass of Robert Mondavi merlot and a serving of the handmade fresh guacamole with their excellent chips. The chips are thin and carry no seasoning at all which means you get everything from what you dip them in with a nice luscious crunch at the end. The guac is just as advertised: fresh, thick and studded with avocado and tomatoes. If you make your guac without salt like I do you'll taste it in their batch, but I had no complaints. Add that to free salsa with a kick and you've got a great late night snack! The next day I ordered takeout and the service was okay over the phone but they did put me on hold about two or three times during the course of ordering one item. I asked for Margaritas Famous Taster which, I may have been hearing things, but seemed to engender some snickering on the other end. They had it ready when I picked it up, but when I got to my room, what should have been a chicken burrito, cheese enchilada with Mexican rice and beans *and* ground beef taco was missing the taco. This puzzled me because they bothered to ask how I wanted it, medium or well done, which is also the first time I've ever been asked about a ground beef taco. Maybe they were punishing me for daring to ask what they meant by how did I want my taster done? I decided to let it go even with a $14 price tag because after the cheese enchilada which was just a quesadilla with something really salty and brown on it and the burrito which was the same thing but with some chicken in it, I realized I wasn't missing anything. I really enjoyed the hotel I stayed in but I'll rent a car next time to get a chance to try something else!

I have frequent this restaurant twice before only cocktails and nachos. However, this last visit my friend and I decided to have an entree with our margaritas. The dining table was not clean and our waiter was not attentive. He also mixed up our cocktail order more than once. The appetizers arrived warm but our entrees were cold and tasted horrible! I totally recommend this restaurant for cocktails; but if you want food there is a Subway and Pizza Hut in the next plaza!

Our most recent visit was definitely a change from the last. Immediately upon walking in the door we could tell there were staffing/ management issues going on. No one really greeted us, instead the manager (guy in a button down shirt and slacks) walked up to us and handed me 3 menus to hold (how tacky is that) while we waited to be seated. He then walked off and said he was getting someone to seat us. A server entered the building, walking past us and said she would also find someone to seat us. A third employee pranced up and said SHE would seat us momentarily, then walked off. Immediately if felt disorganized. Finally the hostess appeared, took us to a table then announced that Ellen (I think?) would be our server and if we had any problems then we could speak to the manager (R-something...can't remember- Ricky, Richard...I'm not sure of that name either). All I could think was she was setting us up to anticipate a problem. She then left and came back with another couple also announcing to them the manager's name in case they had problems. How weird is that?! Isn't that kinda of setting them up to fail before the game even starts? Our server promptly came over asking for our drink order and she was pleasant- not as wound up as the other folks. We placed our order and I excused myself from the table to check out the restrooms. Upon opening the bathroom door, a huge cloud of vomitness wafted straight toward my nostrils....BLUACKKKK! I retreated quickly back to the table disgusted. The food came out...that's all I can really say for this portion of the review. A dull, boring, lackluster dinner for a party of 3 with a side of sad, dried out flavorless Mexican rice (if you want to call it that) sprinkled with wrinkly peas. Maybe we just happened to come in on a bad night, who knows. We'll probably go back to see if it was an isolated incident.

Been here a dozen times... the food is OK at best however there is absolutely no reason why the service has to be this bad and in 12 visits I'd say it was BAD 10x! The wait is often too long, never did they take my requests into consideration, very poor staffing and this last visit the waitress made the manager come see me and I can now totally understand why this place doesn't work properly... Really too bad because this could be a fun place but never again!

My wife and I decided to try the revere margaritas since it was closer to us then the medford one...big mistake. We were seated right away and the waiter was over like 5 or 10mins later. He took our drink orders which he got wrong twice. The mojitos we got had no flavor or rum in it . The food was chimichangas and enchiladas which both were pretty bad. Our waiter giovanni was not very attentive at all. The establishment was mildly busy but still no excuse for this. i dont think i will be returning to this location or any others.

If you enjoy Taco Tuesday, then you have officially fallen in love with the Mexican Food. The main grain of Mexican cuisine is maize. Also known as corn, maize is grown for the past 9000 years after the crop was discovered by the people in Mayan civilization. Mexican empire flourished when they started growing beans, tomatoes, chili pepper, sweet potato and cactus. Till this date these ingredients are used in cooking authentic Mexican dishes and drinks.
Great use of spices, fresh chili pepper dishes like fajitas, tortilla chips, corn chips, salsa, chimichangas, burritos, nachos and quesadillas are invented in America. But when you are looking for authentic Mexican food then you must find a restaurant in the city that serves Rajas con Queso, Garbanzo in a Guajillo Chile Sauce, Pork Filled Chiles Rellenos, Chiles en Nogada, Molcajete Salsa, Pico de Gallo and Frijoles de la Olla. An eye-opening fact – Mexican don't like their food hot. They use fresh chili and other spices to create a flavor that lingers in your mouth.
Mexican food is great for those who are Gluten Intolerant as they use Corn instead of wheat in most of their dishes. Also, you can easily find many beans based Mexican dishes. Another dish which didn't get similar glory as tacos or nachos is the Mexican hot chocolate. If you love something hot on a chilly day, then go for Mexican Hot Chocolate. On merry days, you can enjoy the authentic Mexican Drinks like Tequila, Mezcal, Tecuí, Sotol, Bacanora, Charanda, Posh O Pox, Puebla and Pulque. Mexican Cuisine is for people who enjoy strong drinks and hearty meals.

(1)Ashley F.
(2)Cindy H.
(4)Chris H.

(3)Michael C.

(1)Thomas P.

(3)Brian P.

(2)Chrissy H.
(2)Jason B.
(3)Andres S.
Food was just ok nothing crazy. Server was weird, needles to say i probably wont be going back because of the food. Ive had better mexican
(2)Travis O.
I always been skeptical of restaurants connected to hotels. I was so surprised how great the food and service was. For desert I had the dream taco. crispy fired tortilla stuffed with cheesecake, strawberries, and chocolate sauce. If you are in Revere swing by for some great mexican.
(4)Mark A.
(3)Kendra D.

(5)Cyndi L.
(5)Lindsay H.
(3)Becky A.
Pretty good place, drinks are great! Its not a authentic but it will do... ;)
(4)Ashley S.
(4)Austin H.
(4)Meems D.
(3)Sherry F.
(3)Mike K.
Very fresh and delicious free chips and salsa! they have a baked enchilada dish that is absolutely the best! It has three enchiladas, chicken, sirloin and pico!!! Yumm! ...The margaritas go without saying.
(5)Michael M.
(3)Jason O.
(4)Krys A.
(3)Kelly A.
(3)JeNnIfEr S.
(5)Stephanie K.
(1)D D.
Ate here today and the food was great. Got the beef Chimichanga and was really delicious. The Guacamole was fresh and free chips and salsa were great. I wish they offered a mild salsa, but whatev. Service was good. I'll come back
(4)Lauren F.
(3)Keith D.
I've been here about 6 or 7 times. The food and atmosphere are good. The bartenders and servers in the dining area are good. I would recomend going here if you can get a seat at the bar or plan on sitting in the dining area. The pub table staff seem too busy, but the place is a nice casual night out.
(4)Yelp Z.
(3)Nikki A.
(4)Kimberly R.
I love the Mexican decor! The drinks are great. I knew to order extra guacamole with my meal. Otherwise ya just dont have enough. The chips and salsa are so good! Our waitress was nice friendly, attentive.
(4)Sarah C.
energetic atmosphere, really good margaritas and the best fajitas around! their salads in the huge tortilla bowl are also very flavorful and unique. wish i lived closer. i love sitting in the bar area; you always meet the craziest people there hehe. i believe you can also pay to play the music of your choice, and they had some nine inch nails to choose from, which is always fun. the only negative thing i have to say about this place, is that i went there once for a lunch date without looking up their hours, and i think it was about 2 pm and they were closed!
(4)Christopher T.
(5)Meg L.
TERRIBLE service from Female waitress....poor thing
(1)Erik F.
(1)Raphaelle Y.
(1)Josh W.
i was just contacted by a new manager, who went out of his way to contact me after reading my review. part of it i already take back is the bad food comment (i love their food, chimichongas and fried ice cream) but i will talkto the gm and probably delete my bad review cuz i think that is highly respectable for some1 to reach out to me
(5)Stephanie C.
(4)Amy K.
(3)BERRY S.
ok the food there is pretty good have to admit, chips and salsa delish! drinks not so strong, at all... and service they are nice.. but the service is terrible, you order a drink or anything for that matter they seem to ALWAYS forget, and takes them prob anywhere from half hour to an hour, so if they do come by to check be sure to order what u'll be needing in the next hour.. and i've been MANY times.. so im not complaining because i do go back, foods really good.. its mexican hard to go wrong. Takes forever for your food to come out!, and most of all WAY OVER PRICED FOR EVERYTHING! me an my friend went there for dinner the other night and i got the chimichangas, they got enchiladas ($14 each) 2 beers each $44 bill then + tip..
(3)S N.
I will definitley be coming back
(4)O G.
this place is less than 3 mins away from my house. great place to catch a drink at the bar.
(4)Alexanderia W.
The place is downstairs from the Comfort Inn. Great chips and salsa. The burrito was alright and it will fill you up. I'll come back just to try the Margaritas.
(3)Ethan T.
So if you are super duper hungry you might have to order two
(4)Dipak S.
(3)Alain S.
(3)Shawn W.
Wow! I'm impressed with this place! First of all, the bartender, Justin, is awesome! I came here with my boyfriend...expecting a burrito place. Instead, I discovered a realty great place with yummy food!!
(4)Nakita N.
For Mexican the quality was above expected. The food did take a little long to come but the food was flavorful and good portion size. They even had pulled beef called brazed.beef.
(4)Elvin M.
Just visited this location for a late night bite to eat. Good service but the beer I ordered was warm. Also I had the fish tacos and they were small and not much fish. Nice ambience for a local place. Overall 3 stars..
(3)Katie H.
The food was bland...pop tart bland...perhaps that's too nice...the food was paper plate bland with a mix of overly spiced hot sauce in large proportions. The drinks were never the same ... Perhaps a bartender with no recipe book...or no concept of portion sizing...overall...not worth the money.
(2)Ngan T.

Negative comments are strange to me because I love this place. Amazing drinks and the food is awesome too!! Margaritas circle of friends card is great as well and free to sign up.
