Chinese Cuisine
The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.
Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.
There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.

Ordered from (Bistro Chi) full menu while watching Bruins game - food is always fantastic, albeit some appetizers took a long time. Servers/bartenders were absolutely great! Very pleasant and accommodating. One improvement - it's a bit too chilly in there (air conditioner blasting).

My coworkers and I have been coming here every so often mainly because of their food. For Chinese food, I think it's one of the best places to grab Chinese food, even better than Chinatown! Theor tapas are delicious as well. My favorite things to eat here so far are the Baja fish tacos and the beef & pineapple chow fun! Service here is meh and so are the drinks. Drinks aren't strong but I see a pattern with all of the Fuji chains so not surprised that their drinks are a little on the sweet and fruitier side. Prices are moderate and average. I'll definitely be coming back again, can't stay away from their food.

Good food, had short rib tacos, very good went early in week was very quiet, odd set-up Service was good
(3)Tracey L.
Ordered a few tapas, nothing really stood out. Most of the food only tasted okay, portions were small. I found the atmosphere to be kind of weird. It was very dark inside and the lounge chair and table were too low, making it awkward to sit. I had to lean over every time to eat and it just felt uncomfortable. Probably would not come back again.

It wasn't a bad spot for casual Friday night drinks. They do a "live entertainment" Friday nights from 9 PM to 1 AM. The music was not loud, so I didn't notice it half the time. Because of that, you can have a normal conversation with your party without shouting. The cocktails and martinis all sounded very creative. My boyfriend and I ordered two each. He ordered the Candy Cane Martini to be festive.. but it turned out terrible, the crème de menthe was overpowering. I liked my coco lychee and royal fizzy. Royal Fizzy was a bit strange with bubbly champagne and pom flavor. Did not mix well, but it was an easy drink to sip on. Tried the Duck Confit that everyone raves about.. but it was below my expectation. The bread could be more toasted. The meat was tender but there's nothing special I can write about. Kama Lounge looked very trendy and comfortable. Not a bad neighborhood spot.

They revamped the tapas menu and brought in a good selection of micro brews. Plus one. I feel like Kama deserves a little bit more attention in Quincy. Number one--the tapas plates are solid. Not unbelievable but enjoyable (whatever that means). Mexican street corn-while delicious- on one visit was 2 full ears and then on another visit was two halves so there are some issues with consistency. Single order tacos for $4 are good, not great. Great sweet potato fries. Great garlic shrimp. Sort of hit or miss on other tastings. Point is that if you are stuck in line at the Fat Cat, Kama has a welcoming bar with good drinks, good food and nice bartenders. Could they use some tightening up on the plates? Surely, but I don't think you'd be disappointed with the outcome. The one major drawback is that occasionally during prime time this place is dead as a doornail, which can oftentimes have you questioning the freshness of the food. However I've never had any issues with food quality--there seems to be some love going on on the kitchen.

Love this place! Great for drinks and food, Bartenders are quick and remembers what you drink. I frequently visit this Lounge. Easy parking for the quincy area. The best part of this place is that you can order from the chinese menu next door. The specials change weekly and amazes me every time they come out with a new special entree/tapa. Best desserts, have to try the Fried Oreos

The figs are the best! Sweet figs wrapped in salty prosciutto with creamy goat cheese. Holy cow! That up there was the initial tip I wrote while I was devouring the delicious little morsels on my plate...but now for more detail! As other reviewers have said, this place can be a bit overwhelming because it is really two restaurants in one AND they serve both menus to either side. But we were here for tapas and didn't even look at the other menu (maybe next time!). All of the plates we got were great! We let this be an opportunity to try somethings we've never had (i.e. fois gras... little scary!) since they were small and reasonably priced plates. I can't really complain at all!! It was really nice too that the chef came out of the kitchen to apologize for the wait because she was training someone that night and it may take a bit longer. We weren't put off by the wait at all! In fact, we didn't even notice it. But it was very nice of them to take the initiative and explain what was going on just in case. I'll be back. There is a whole other menu to try as well as the other half of the tapas menu!

Great place to come for drinks with friends or a nice date night. The atmosphere is nice and dark (which I like) and they have a great selection of food as well as drinks.

Let's just get this out of the way - the decor is pretty awful. Those lounge chairs are uncomfortable and its trying a little too hard to be swanky. I thought about taking a star off for that, but it's easily avoidable if you sit at the bar, and I like everything else about this place so much I stuck with 5 stars. First, all the food I've ever had here has been delicious. And the prices are decent for what you get. What really puts it over the top are the dollar oysters on sun and mon, and half priced tapas on sun. The oysters are fantastic - cleanly shucked, nice and big. Last time I went they had two kinds and I got half and half. I've never had a tapas item I didn't like. I really enjoyed the grilled caesar, the hummus is actually super tasty, the sliders looked good though I haven't had them, love the thai wings. Drink prices are also really good and every bartender I've had has been really nice. I haven't tried their specialty cocktails - that menu might need a bit more creativity - but their beers are decently priced and their normal mixed drinks are good.
(5)Moumita B.
Went there yesterday. Simply great. Seriously a hidden gem. Music is not so good thats why I gave a less star.
(4)Alexandra D.
This place has good food and a nice atmosphere. The menu is fun and different. The oysters were fantastic and the manager Samir brought us a few extra which was so nice of him! You know the restaurant is managed well with the little things like that. The cocktails were also very yummy. I will definitely be back to try some of the other fun items on the menu!

I love this chic tapas bar. I feel like it's my own little gem and I don't want to tell anyone. All the food is so good and a great portion size for tapas. The truffle mac and cheese is to die for and it's only $5. Fish tacos amazing. Capers salad amazing. Spicy meatball amazing. Everything edible amazing. I've had most of their specialty drinks. Not a single bad one. The bartenders and servers are so nice and helpful...except 1. It's why I give 4 stars instead of 5. Idk her name but she's tall and has long straight blond hair. Every time I go there she is rude and literally does nothing. She makes the poor little Asain guy do all her work including taking orders, prep, giving menus, running our card. I gave him the tip last time cuz he did all the work. That girl should be fired. She's a terrible bartender and I would lose my ish if I had to work with someone like her.

My husband and I love this restaurant. When we are in the mood for something a bit different, or unable to decide exactly what we want, we go to Kama Lounge. We like to mix and match the Asian cuisine with American comfort food; for example a Pu Pu platter and sweet potato fries. My husband was a big fan of the deviled eggs, but they were taken off the menu. The scorpion bowls are also a plus.
(5)Erika Z.
We ordered some dumplings. Crab Rangoon and lo mien. Everything was so delicious! Everything tasted just cooked and the flavors were AWESOME! Definitely recommend the mango scorpion bowl will be going back again really soon!
(4)Scott T.
Great food always something new, awesome staff just a nice place to meet up after work or diner!! Make sure you ask for Z
(5)Kevin M.
Pretty cool place tapas are great and so is the asian food from the menu next door at bistro chi. Hit it for taco Tuesday, Monday and Sunday for buck a shuck, would be 5 stars but drinks are a little on the high side.
(4)nicole g.
Have been here a few times since that first review. It's still awesome. Gets pricey fast, but here's a pro-tip: tapas offerings are 1/2 price on Sunday evenings. Try the squash blossoms and the deviled eggs for sure. Everything is delicious. Drinks included. HIDDEN GEM IN QUINCY, don't miss out.

Great location, intimate restaurant/bar, flawless and friendly staff, and the food.... the food is sooo d^#n(darn) good! A friend and I were catching up over dinner when I actually said.... Me: "Wow the beef tenderloin and corn salad is just fabulous!" Friend: "Did you just say 'fabulous'?'" Me: "lol omg.. I did! and 'fabulous' is not even a word that's in my vocabulary" Long story short... the food is so amazing that it will have you talking differently! Other menu items that I recommend are; the meatballs, Salt and Pepper Calamari, garlic pan fried bok choy, obviously the beef tenderloin, and if you are a hot and sour soup fan then it's pretty spectacular lol. The crab cakes were decent but everything else just stole the show! I love it here and I love tapas i've realized... i'm so indecisive so it makes it easier for me to try a lot of different things (without judgement). I'm looking forward to my next visit! I can't get over that perfect 10 experience. p.s. I got the limoncello cake to-go and it was pretty mind blowing

Kama Lounge is a place I go to very frequently. I bring all my friends over there as well and get them hooked. We go mostly for the alcohol--mostly the lychee scorpion bowl and a drink called the kama. Not only is there drinks good, their food is also good as well. Still to this day I say the Kama Lounge has the best sweet potato fries in all of Quincy. The environment is very calm and the staff are very welcoming. Parking can be either street or the lot that is free to park in after 9pm. Parking there is free all day Sunday. Another positive thing to me is that the Kama Lounge is very close to where I live so I can always grab a quick drink with a couple friends. I don't spend no less than 2 hours when I'm at the Kama Lounge!! Like I said before, I go to this place all the time and I will always keep going!
(5)Elizabeth K.
Confused atmosphere. Odd crowd. Uncomfortable cubes to sit on. Tapas and drinks are good though.
(3)Chris G.
The crispy chinese chicken is pretty damn good, and the cheese plate was also a good value for the price. I was looking forward to the foi gras but they removed it from the menu i was told. Nice tapa selection as well as full chinese menu.
(4)Shir L.
Came here on a sunday night with 3 guy friends and they basically ordered a bunch of tapas. Pulled pork quesadilla - pretty bomb Mac&Cheese - unexpectedly good, Grilled shrimp - never again, rubbery & over salty Grilled cheese - pretty good, but u only get one tiny grilled cheese sandwich cut in half =.= not worth the price, and the tomatoe soup that came with it was tiny but creamier than ur reg. campbells Tuna with wonton chips - were a bust, save ur money and go to their other franchise (Fujis 1546 for salmon chunks mixed with spicy mayo and wonton chips: bigger portion & tastes way better) Scorpion: Mango - tastes like pineapple juice (no alcohol flavor) Raspberry - not bad but just decent Both scorpion bowls were decent, i wouldnt get them again and we asked for the waiters recommendation and the mango was most popular -.-"

I hit The Kama Lounge shortly after 4:30pm one Saturday to find a party of two hanging out on a pair of the bar's 13 stools. I had my choice of the rest of the room that occupied the corner of a block, and I selected one of the low lying seats with a back rest - some of the six tables along the windows had seats consisting of cushioned blocks. I had time to kill and a deal voucher to use, so I selected a bunch of things to try: 'Deviled' Eggs... Smoked Paprika, Goat Milk Ricotta, Chipotle Tabasco $2 / piece Beef Tenderloin... Kalbi Marinade, 3 Skewers, Corn Salad $8 Duck Confit... Soy Marinade, Raspberry Preserves, Spinach, Crostini $9 Boneless Rib Wraps... Lettuce, Sweet Honey Soy, Spare Ribs $7 They came pretty quickly - probably because I was the only party without food at the time, but still I appreciated it. The rib wraps arrived first, looking very much like cha siu stuffed into moo shi skins. But with the dipping sauce served alongside it, I have to admit that it was quite yummy. I was a tad surprised that the deviled egg was but a single half - I figured for $2 I would get a whole egg. But the menu does say "per piece" and it was pretty tasty. So if you feel like an egg, go for it. The duck confit was easy to cut and I had some fun making canapes by spreading the raspberry jam on the crostini and topping it with spinach and duck - both meat and skin. A touch on the salty side, but still good, and fun! I love kalbi and bulgogi, so I was surprised when the beef tenderloin seemed to taste somewhat like liver and was just too salty. It also lacked the sweet element that I tend to associate with the classic Korean marinade. But here is also where I began appreciating the service I received as the almost sole diner. My server kindly offered to take it back and to bring me back the menu to make an alternative selection. Thus, I ended up with the following additions which turn out are not listed on the menu currently posted on their website: BLT Arancini $6 Butternut Squash Soup with Apple $2 / teacup A teacup doesn't sound like much of a portion, but with the cute little spoon, I made that soup last. What looked like pickled onions to me tasted like sweet corn kernels. Imagine my surprise when I was informed by the chef that they were red delicious apples diced, sprinkled with a sugar, and cooked a bit! Basically the soup was really good with the apples, and was the obvious winner of the evening. Definitely 5 stars! The arancini were just crispy enough on the outside and about the size of a ping pong ball. The presentation was cute, and I enjoyed them. I sincerely hope that items get added as regulars on the menu. When I left shortly after 6pm, there were perhaps two (not the same two mentioned at the beginning of my review) individual patrons at the bar, while the nearby Fat Cat was hopping. So it looks like this might be a better option for a relatively quiet early dinner on a Saturday night.

Nice on the inside, next to a large parking lot, and they usually have trivia or a band playing. Food and drinks are all pretty good but the place is a little pricey. The unique seating and table set-up is really hip but takes up a lot of room reducing the amount of people it can comfortably fit. However, the good far out weighs the bad with this spot.
(4)Steve P.
You're delicious, you make delicious scorpion bowls (especially Lychee), one time you rushed us out, and you have an odd, musty yet familiar odor. You're okay in my book. But you also need to get new leather lounge seats. They are dirty, ripped, and malodorous. Three stars for you! This is Quincy.
(3)Diane H.
This is like a 3 1/2. I come here way too much...The food is good. I love the duck confit, they make it just right! I mean it's my first duck confit ever..but mmm is it delicious!!! The oysters not so much....the truffle mac and cheese was pretty nice too. The drinks are okay, but weak and too much ice! I liked the mango/peach scorpion bowl but it doesn't do anything to you..and the sangria was dead awful..only like 3-4 cups in a pitcher, the rest was ice! For $25 bucks--no thanks! The service was spotty...some of the girls are really busy or they just don't really care. The music is dead awful...we don't need a band..just put on some kiss 108 man! But i love the loungy chairs... ahaha. Wish they had draft beer...i'll keep on wishing.

I like to think of Kama Lounge as "my place". Quite often when I go there on a week night there are only a few people at the bar and me and my boyfriend on "our" couch....yes, its ours. We always sit there. The cocktails are wonderful, my current favorite being the Cucumber Fizz. For sharing, I like the Mango Scorpion bowl. The tapas is EXCELLENT. I think I have had everything on the Tapas menu at least once at this point and enjoyed them all with my favorites listed below: Blue cheese fondue with chorizo and toasted bread: By far the most delicious cheese dip I have ever had. Order and extra side of bread because you will want to finish every last drop and for some reason there is never enough bread. The BLT Aranchini: Little fried balls of BLT goodness. Delicious! The Fried Milk: I know that it sounds weird, but these little coconutty balls of fried coconut that you dip into sweetened condensed milk are just amazing. Heavy, but AMAZING. Share them, of you will gain 10 lbs from one serving :) The service is always friendly and quick. I almost think I shouldn't even write this review so it can remain my private little oasis, but alas....I must. Restaurants this good deserve the recognition!

Went to Kama Lounge to grab some food and meet up with friends ! We had a great time live band playing , great food , bartenders were very attentive to everyone!
(5)Brittany S.
The food was absolutely to die for!!! My party stuck to a lot of appetizers and every single dish was absolutely delicious! I totally recommend this restaurant! The waitress was wonderful and charming, the food was excellent, and the atmosphere was superb. You can't go wrong stopping here for dinner. Just make sure to get a Lychee Scorpion bowl and all the appetizers you can eat... YUM!
(5)Collins F.
I've always wanted to try this place and after going here a few times with my wife, we went back for more. The last time we went there, yesterday actually, it was a bad experience and mainly because of the bartender. She was rude, did not tell us anything about the dishes we were ordering. The "lounge" area needs an update. It is ok but could be done so much better and could be the place to go afte work for a drink or even with a group of people. I will be back but not for a long long time.
(2)Ken S.
Shut out by the long wait over at Fat Cat? Check out Kama down the street. We had no wait and were able to leisurely enjoy our dinner on the lounge chairs. What to have: caprese salad, shrimp skewers (tasty if not plentiful but fine for the price), grilled cheese (!) with a cup of tomato soup, and crab cakes. All done well and tasty! What's cool is that you can also order off the menu from its sister restaurant, Bistro Chi, an Asian spot right next door. On the way to Quincy, I had a hankering for a grilled cheese. I think it was good karma (Kama?) that we ended up here after the wait list down the road. Check it out!
(4)J F.
Love, love this place! My husband and I frequent here quite often. The food is always consistently high quality, creative and delicious. The tapas menu is always interesting and eclectic and the Chi Bistro menu is delicious, fresh Chinese food. We love this restaurant not to mention the others in their group- Fuji, Shabu, etc. Eric the bartender is our favorite and always a friendly face when we walk in the door.
(5)Jonathan C.
I recommend the crab cakes and the tenderloin skewers. The deviled eggs and tuna dish were also very good. I would go back!
(4)Jen Y.
Sultry bossa nova jazz, chic black couches, funky black sparkly chandeliers, and band completely decked out with suspenders and fedoras?? YES PLEASE. Why can't there be more places like this in Boston?- chill, loungy and fresh....I came by with some friends for the first time and I was pleasantly surprised...then again I am a hiphop/jazz girl so I do have some appreciation for the music....I didn't eat anything but was surprised by the "chinese cusine" menu that they served a lot of random chinese food and drinks....They also seemed to have tapas too but I didn't really look at the menu in depth. My friend with me had 2 drinks and I just had a seltzer but the ambiance was pretty entertaining....It sure doesn't belong in Quincy...people watching was fun...In between the 2+ hrs I was there I overheard conversations about "10 inch *&^%$", total jersey shore wannabes making out on the couch...girls that look like they were 16 rockin' mini skirts and 5 inch heels in 30 degree weather, girls running into the one stall bathroom together....odd couples drunk, and at the end of the night A Tyra Banks lookalike strolled into the bar wearing like 8 inch heels and rocking it. FIERCE. The staff were all very nice and friendly and came around a few times to ask if we needed anything. I def would come back and chill here.... maybe i'll get some egg drop soup and drop it like it's hot LOL
(5)Jim S.
Wifey and I used to like this place but it's gone consistently downhill until last time we went when there was a woman passed out next to us on the bar for our entire meal! They did nothing and kept serving the people she was with. Very disturbing. Bar staff clearly doesn't care about anything. Food is creative sounding but subpar.

The owner of Kama Lounge has quite a few really good restaurants in the Quincy area and the food here at Kama is no exception. The food is delicious! Kama is a lounge/bar that serves up tapas style plates and you can also order off their sister restaurant's menu connected next door: Bistro Chi. Compared to the owners other restaurants, Kama is not asian style. I was excited to try something different than my usual go-to Asian fare. My friends and I ordered plenty off the menu to give everything a taste. We started with the Bleu Cheese Fondue w/ yummy toasty bread to dip. This was one of the HITS of the night. The bleu cheese was creamy and make sure you mix it around well because there are delicious bacon bits that fall to the bottom and you don't want to miss it. We had to order extra bread cause we had leftover cheese that we were not going to give away. We then ordered Sweet Potato Fries that came with a side of ranch dressing. Gone in seconds. So good! We ordered 2 plates of the beef sliders, chicken tenderloins, pulled pork quesadilla, and shrimp. Sounds like a lot but when your washing everything down with one of their martini's, talking and laughing... you don't realize how much you eat too. :) The drinks were strong and on point, our bartender/server was always checking up on us. She was rocking it out being the only server that early evening. There were about 3 other couples and we never felt neglected. The prices at Kama are ok.. all the plates we ordered were under $10 but that can rack up when you're ordering a bunch of different stuff. And it is tapas style so prepared for small plates and wanting more of something you really like. This was an early evening and we were lucky to get a great spot to lounge and eat but I'm not sure how easy it will be to get good seating when the place is hopping at night. It can be kinda difficult to eat with tables so slow and the seating so wide but we had a really great time at Kama. We enjoyed everything we ordered and can't wait to go back.

Moved back to Quincy from Providence recently and was dreading the local food scene. Up until tonight I really thought I'd have to go into the city to get a restaurant with a young, hip feel and decent up-scale food but was pleasantly surprised to find Kama tonight. The decor is very modern and stylish. The drink menu is fantastic if you like your booze fruity (and we do). And the tapas were fantastic. We had just tried the figs at Tips and Taps in Boston and they were so-so. The figs at Kama blew them away. Highly recommended. They also serve a nice twist on hummus. The sweet potato fries were pretty standard but the blue cheese fondue with chourizo was unique and well executed. I should add the staff were attentive and friendly - not too in your face but also engaging and fun.The crowd was mixed but definitely more toward the young professional set. They offer Stump Trivia on Wednesdays and it seems like it would be a fun place for it. We look forward to going back.
(4)Rudolph R.
What a great place. I haven't been there since the Jury Room was in this spot but I loved it. The bartender, Eric, was completely charming. A friend kept telling me that Eric made the best chocolate martini ever but I was skeptical. My friend was right. If you are looking for a boozy treat this is the place to have one!
(5)Jennifer T.
Nice addition to the restaurants in the Quincy area but slow service. The tapas menu had a fun selection of options, all the ones we tried were tasty and unique, but extremely salty. For $25, we were able to get 3 tapas: the sliders, salmon, and duck confit. The sliders tasty, I liked how crispy the onion ring inside was; the skin on the salmon was also very crispy. The duck confit was my favorite, the duck meat was very tender and had a braised taste to it, and the raspberry jam was a perfect compliment in favor to the meat. The food took a long time to come out, and between each one there was a long wait (and when we went, it was a week night and quieter, with only 2 other groups around us). The server was very bubbly, helpful in giving her food recommendations, and seemed attentive - but when came to actual execution, she flopped. As in, she would say she'd bring out water, and then pass us 2 times before bringing it out. Same with refills, she'd note to bring out more, then come back without it, had to ask again, and still waited another 20 mins until she'd come back again. This took away from the experience, as the food was so salty and would have been nice to have water available. We had ordered another dish off the bistro chi menu, however, it was taking so long, we had to go find the server and say we'd like to package it up to go - however she only giggled and said "hmm, maybe if it hasnt come out by now, it wont come out at all...it prob got brought to the wrong table, haha, sorry"...great, so some other table got our dish for free, weird. Overall, I do like the idea of a place like this in Quincy, its very diff than other restaurants nearby, which is what we need, however, they need to improve a bit on service speed.
(3)Jessi R.
We were given a coupon and are SO thankful! We wandered in and Gwen, one of the bartenders, took pity on our confused faces and walked us through the experience. Kama Lounge and Bistro Chi are connected, and we were allowed to order from both menus (I was given the impression that's not the case at Bistro Chi, but will have to find out). I only have 2 regrets about this place: 1) we ordered too much food and were overly full by the end of the night and 2) we haven't gone here sooner! We ordered 3 or 4 items from the tapas menu as well as the pupu platter from the other menu and loved every bite! Even the drinks were wonderful. The space isn't large, but I never felt crowded, and one table, as well as several bar stools remained empty the whole night. I like a place that's popular but not crowded--shows that it's good but not so crazy-trendy-popular that the only way I'll ever get a table is by standing outside, waiting for the doors to open on Monday nights. I like the atmosphere--low black tables with black couches against black carpet and walls, but the large windows along one whole wall keep it from seeming too gothic or dreary. I would like the couches to be a little less wide though, I can't sit back and eat because I'm too far from the table (what can I say, I'm clumsy!). This isn't someplace I'd go all the time because the prices are higher than I like to spend on a typical dinner out. But the prices are WAY better than any other tapas place and it's definitely at the top of my "nice night out" or "bring friends to" list of restaurants. I'm already planning my next visit!
(4)Megan Q.
I have been here a couple times. The last was on New Year's Eve and we had a great time. We ended up wanting something quiet low key and more adult. So we landed here had some drinks and great ambiance. At midnight they did the champagne and poppers deal and the wait staff was friendly and accommodating. It was just what we were looking for. Also I've tried some of their tapas, which were good. Though the food from the connected bistro chi can be over salted and unimpressive. It is nice to be able to choose from either menu though and who knows maybe it was an off night (the lackluster food opinion was based on a dining experience on the BC side as opposed to Kama... They are connected and serve both menus).
(4)Kacey B.
This is my go-to in Quincy center! I meet friends here all the time and we all love it. We sometimes have ordered tomorrow's lunch or dinner to go after we eat. Drink selection is good and service has always been friendly. Nice atmosphere, I always sit on the lounge side.
(4)allie l.
Yummy yummy yummy!! They also have Stump Trivia on Wednesday nights and Stump Questionnairey on Thursday nights, but get there before 9pm when it starts, the place is small (great for a nice cozy date) and the seats fill up quickly.
(5)Rich S.
Went here on Friday night and sat at the bar. We enjoyed our food quite a bit but the music (dj) was so loud that we had to strain to hear and talk. I know I'm getting older but I can't undertand why restaurants do this. If you're younger you enjoy straining to hear and talk? We would have stayed longer and had a few more drinks but we wanted to talk about the movie we just saw and simply couldn't. We got the blue cheese fondue, grilled cheese, sweet potato fries and calamari. All excellent and done with flair. And the service was good as well. Decent beer selection. We'll probably go back, just not on night where they have a d.j. Now get off my lawn!

I really love it here. The food is delicious (my fave is the duck confit) and the drinks are all reasonably priced. It's pretty swanky inside. I love the bar area. My only complaint is the seating area. There are just a few black couches with tables. I get that they're going for a 'lounge' but for me its just a little uncomfortable. I like this place much better than the fat cat for food and drinks (I've actually never really understood why people love it there so much, all the food I've ever had has been meh). So for coming in and sitting at the bar, this place is awesome.

The owners keep opening new restaurants in Quincy. I think their first one was their best and I believe they transferred ownership to people who have maintained very good quality. Their second one Fuji 1546 has become inconsistant, mostly a place to have drinks. Their third one Beni Cafe is my favorite. It seems to be the best managed and is consistantly good and reasonably priced. Their newer ventures seem to suffer from a lack of consistancy and I think that maybe management has spread itself too thin. You may get a great meal and service or not so much. If you can deal with that it may or may not be worth it. As for me I stick to Beni now and when I want a surefire great meal I go to restaurants that I find to be consistant.

Interesting is the best way to describe this Quincy spot. Upon arrival I wasn't sure which way to go. The door seems to lead to 2 restaurants in one. The left side is the darker cooler lounge and the right side is a bright intense white dinner spot. We opted to go left and sat at a low table. The service was super friendly and the menu was a blend of Spanish Tapas with an American twist. We enjoyed everything we tasted and thought the portions were ok. The vibe of the place just seemed off. The people at the bar seemed to be in work boots and work clothes....not really a lounge-y type crowd. We also had the unfortunate pleasure of seeing a full moon for most of our dinner due to the low cut pants and low seating of a man to our left. Yikes! Overall, I don't know if we'll go back. But it was ok for a quick bite.

This place is delicious. We had the mac and cheese, pulled pork quesadilla, blt, chicken tenderloins and crab cakes. Each so so so good, i left way too stuffed. My only complaint is the awkward seating. I felt like i was a giant at a little kids table! I get its a lounge area, but i wish they had more regular seating options since the bar fills up quickly.

Love kama. The tapas are great n the prices are very good. Never sat on the other side, bistro chi, but I always order from that menu too and the food and prices are great. Had a group of 10 ppl here for new years eve celebration and we all had a blast!!! Rachel the bar tender is great. Friday nights they have live music and then a DJ. It is just such a chill environment. As it gets later the drinks do get weaker and a few times I have had to ask for a new drink but it was never a problem.

I like the drink and the music. It's a very nice surprise in the neighborhood.

Good selection of drinks. Lively atmosphere, friendly staff, reasonable tapas and great asian food. The lounge seating is so relaxed that makes me go there again.

What a cute place! Came here with a group of friends to celebrate my birthday last saturday. It was packed so we slowly got ourselves a few tables connected so that we could sit together. The live music was really nice and when the guys stopped playing we honestly missed it. The drinks were great, the staff was really nice, they even bought my friend a drink...which was really nice (but I think the bday girl should've been offered one on the house too). Of course, we got the fried milk which was delicious!!! And a few other small plates. Would def. go back!

Awesome lounge chairs and couches. We sat on the couch just hanging out afterwork. It was a small, chic, and modern place. The food was surprisingly really good. We ordered a buch of tapas and they were all quality. My mango scorpion bowl was also fresh and delicious. I like the fusion from around the world. They also have 1$ oysters on sunday and monday. And live DJs ad music at night. It's an interesting place. The waitress was so friendly. She tried too hard to explain the dishes haha, but I thought it was amusing. It's connected with Bistro Chi, which is Chinese food, but there's nothing Chinese food about Kama Lounge.

This place is on the right track with respect to ambiance, however they have to deliver when it comes to food and service. The bartenders were not personable at all. It would be more inviting if they would smile and engage with their customers a little. Your job as a bartender is to be friendly and out going so that people want to come to your establishment. Learn how to engage and be friendly. You guys were not busy, so there is no excuse. The bar itself seemed to have a dull odor.....it was probably wiped down with a stale rag. Ya gotta watch that stuff guys....use fresh rags to wipe down bar. Also, the bathroom needed freshening. The beef was good on the tapas skewers. Very flavorful with Kalbi marinade. Only three small pieces, but tasty. However, they sat on a bed of salad and corn. The corn was not fresh. The kernels were collapsing, that means the corn was dehydrated....meaning, old. Ya gotta use fresh ingredients guys. The crab cakes served came out as two crab pancakes....flat crab cakes? They were not lump crab, they used leg meat. Tasty somewhat, but presentation was all wrong. I ordered meatballs off of the tapas menu...I had to send back the meatballs because they were tough and dry. Seriously? How do ya screw up a meatball? The only thing I really enjoyed was the sweet potato fries. They were perfect in every way. Served with a sour cream dipping sauce. Huge portion. This is the third time I have been to this place. I like to try out a place a few times before writing a review. I think its only fair. So.....if the owner reads this.....hire new friendly bar and wait staff. Improve on your food. If you do the work, with your ambiance and location, perhaps you will be as busy as surrounding restaurants and bars.

I visited Kama for the first time last night after driving by it about a million times, and Must say that I love it! This place is the EPITOME of a lounge! relaxed atmosphere and completely unpretentious, unlike those annoyingly "modern" lounges in Boston. I wanted to nibble on a bite to eat while watching the local artists do they're thang during the open mic session, so I ordered the hummus and pita chips, sounds pretty standard right? Wrong! This was by far the most delicious house made hummus and fleshly baked chips I've ever tasted! If you live in the Quincy/Braintree area and want to have a low-key night out without traveling too far, I think you will truely enjoy a night at Kama!
(4)Yvette M.
Ordered a few items and had them delivered through Grub Hub. Duck confit was dry and yet coated in grease,Actually everything I ordered was greasy , literally floating in the stuff, and under seasoned.
(1)Michael M.
Great first internet date meeting place. Ambient atmosphere. Comfortable leather sofa to relax with wine or mixed drinks and tapas. Order house wine and hummus as ice breaker to allow conversation to follow. Also a great place to relax while you wait over an hour for Fat Cat restaurant reservation. Unfortunately this serene environment is immediately destroyed soon as the live music or karaoke comes on so get there early in the evening to enjoy your friend's conversation otherwise you are going to be hoarse from yelling into each others ears.
(3)Catie C.
I came here for drinks. It's a bit on the pricey side for not being in Boston. $8 for a glass of house merlot. $2.50 for a coke with no free refills. The lounge is not that large. Think of it as a restaurant lounge w/o the restaurant part. Well, it does have a hallway that you can go to a restaurant with a totally different name. It has about 12 bar stools - I didn't really count! There are some sofas with cocktail tables. Black seems to be the main theme in here with chandeliers rocking the ceiling. The employees are friendly and quite professional.
(3)Deeds D.
This is a classy joint. The lounge atmosphere is very nice, something you don't see in the Quincy bar scene. Anyway yeah I have been here a hand full of times and its always been enjoyable. They got a great cocktail menu and the few times I have ventured over to the tapas menu I have found it to be very tasty. Its generally been pretty quiet every time I have been here on weekdays, not sure what the weekends are like. I am told they use to have jazz on sundays but they arent doing it anymore???? Bring back the jazz and I will start going on sundays!
(4)Mallory S.
Cool atmosphere. Overpriced food. Good specialty cocktails. I am interested in checking out the restaurant next door when it opens. The service was excellent though. It was easy for us to get cocktails at the bar and the bartender brought everything over to us once we found a table and checked on us for more drinks and food.

Went here for the first time tonight and it was outstanding. I only heard of it because my fiancee went there one night while pub crawling with the girls around Quincy Center... and also because a deal came up for a certificate for Kama Lounge on CoupMe (which is like Groupon). Anyway, we found easy parking considering its location near the Fat Cat and the plaza with the Fours and Texas Saloon. We were greeted at the door by a young guy who promptly seated us and upon request gave us some food recommendations. We had been out earlier in the day with friends and so we were only hungry for a relatively small bite, so we started with drinks. The fiancee ordered a glass of the 14 Hands riesling (which was excellent and quite reasonably priced) and I ordered the special cocktail - a pineapple mojito. Our waitress Gwen promptly jumped behind the bar and made the drinks... and the pineapple mojito was much, much better than anticipated. It was truly outstanding. Plus the wine was accompanied by a small, free cheese plate with tiny pieces of four cheeses, toasted bread and some fresh, red grapes. Mmm! We perused the tapas menu as well as the menu of the connected restaurant Bistro Chi (available for service in the lounge). At our request, Gwen also made recommendations. With that in mind, the fiancee ordered the vegetarian lettuce wraps and I ordered the kalbi style beef skewers with corn salad and the bacon-wrapped scallops in leek soup special. Her wraps were delicious with a bit of a kick. The only downside was that the lettuce was so crisp that it was hard to roll up without dropping bits... but it wasn't a first date after all... we're nearly married, haha. My beef came out first and it was phenomenal. Seriously. I had instant sense memory of Korean BBQ I often had while living in Japan... the sauce was fantastic and the meat was outstanding. The corn salad (sweet corn shaved off the cob alongside halved cherry tomatoes) was better than expected! It blended well with the sauce! I literally cleaned the plate of whatever I could get on a fork. The scallops came out right after, and it was two scallops on a bed of leek soup. Just as the maître d' had explained (much to my disbelief), the leek soup and preparation process somehow toned down the often-overpowering saltiness of the bacon and scallop together. Indeed, it was a much more savory dish, and the saltiness was somehow curbed. The leek soup was outside my wheelhouse, but it was delicious with a fair amount of black pepper in it for a kick. Near the end of the meal, a gentleman started performing acoustic renditions of songs quickly and deftly going from Jeff Buckley's "Hallelujah" right into Death Cab For Cutie and then into Men At Work, followed by Peter Gabriel. As a musician I really appreciated how he made the material his own, and how these seemingly disparate artists' songs were blended masterfully for a pleasant audio experience. Gwen was an absolute star. She had an awesome personality and friendly demeanor; she knew the menu very well and made a hell of a drink! She is the perfect ambassador for this spot to people like ourselves (young locals just passing through to try it out). I was told that Tuesdays will be an acoustic night from now on, while Thursdays offer an open-mic night style. Saturday is also live music and Friday is a DJ. The vibe of this place is neat. A little modern, a little hipster, a little casual, a little swanky and urban... but not overwhelming. It was conceptually similar to the Foundation Room and House of Blues general vibe, but a lot less of a statement... it's very casual. The only downside is that the place is a bit dark with the dark walls, somewhat dark carpet patterns, dark ceiling, dark chandeliers and dark furniture (tables and chairs). Aside from that, it's a win. Can't wait to get back! I only hope it does well enough to stay open but not so well that we can't get a seat!

I really want to like this place. Came here on New Year's Eve. Ended up eating in the Bistro Chi side after some miscommunication between the bartender and the manager/server/host and we realized two couples were waiting for the same table. It hurts the eyes to go from the dark lounge environment to the brightly lit restaurant that reminds me of a cafeteria meets Ikea. It's just a huge difference in feel and lighting, I don't know why they don't integrate them better. Had a delicious scorpion bowl. The truffle mac and cheese was as good as some of the top steak houses in Boston and the caprese salad had great quality flavorful mozzarella. My boyfriend got fried rice that I picked at and it was flavorful and not overly salty. Huge portions but it was great to take home leftovers. Service was spotty, had to wait a while to even catch sight of the server, then call across the room for her as she never checked in. I found it odd that after dinner I asked a question about one of the cocktails and she answered then just got the check, like she didn't get it that I wanted another drink. So had that cocktail at the bar instead. We also ended up stopping by the bar before last call and one of the bartenders remembered us and was very personable. I saw who must be the owner in sight and he was very attentive, even checking in with dinners. Unfortunately the most recent time I went it was disappointing. We ordered the same as last time plus the crab cakes. Everything was tasteless. The tomatoes had more flavor than the mozzarella, and it tasted as though the mac and cheese no longer has truffle oil in it. Crab cakes were deep fried and dry with some sort of salad dressing that I tried to moisten it with but gave up on. The fried rice tasted plain. I really was hoping for the same amazing food, and may try it once again as the first time was just that great. I love that the look is a lounge as opposed to a pub or sports bar, I just wish the service and food matched the look.

This place is a lounge/tapas/chinese restaurant. Booze, tapas and chinese food... who could ask for more? I love their food. Shrimp fried rice is a def. must try. Weird right? It will make sense once you've tried it. It is not overly greasy, the dish comes with a generous portion of shrimps and the bean sprouts give an extra dimension with the crunch. Other things to try: tuna, duck confit, and their short ribs. If you are there on Sunday and Monday nights they have $1 OYSTERS. These are served with pickled jalapenos. They are very tasty and are perfect with drinks. Service can be slow since the bartender is also the waitress.

If you're going for a scorpian bowl. Get the lychee... its the tastiest and strongest by far.

This place is seemingly in the midst of a serious identity crisis. The decor is dark and trendy, bordering on goth with the weird chandeliers. When you sit down they give you 4 menus: one weekly specials menu, one tapas menu, one Chinese food menu and one drink menu. The food is okay. The tapas are decent. I've tried the proscuitto-wrapped figs. You get about 6 of them, each one on top of a chunk of cream cheese or goat cheese or something and some arugula, all drizzled with balsamic reduction. Tasty enough but mostly tasted like balsamic and cream cheese. I've also tried the hummus with fried wonton chips: okay, it's hummus after all, not the best ever. The buffalo chicken fingers were a ripoff. 5 small bites of buffalo chicken for like $7. From the Chinese food menu I've had the hot & sour soup (a lot of thickening agent, not spicy enough for my taste) and the crab rangoons (standard). The temperatures of everything were always just a bit off (reheating maybe? cannot be sure) but it all seemed fresh. The service has always been great. I've been here a couple times for drinks and snacks and the bartenders have been friendly and prompt. Last night we got a complementary pre-dinner shot. I also crashed my sister's high school reunion here, and despite the sardine-can crowdedness of the place i never had to wait for a drink. So a definite plus for the staff. No beers on tap, very basic bottled selection. This is just kind of a weird place. Cheap, takeout quality Chinese in a trendy, goth lounge. It's fine. It's Quincy. Very, very Quincy.

Let's start with the good! Nice lounge area. The lounge side was packed so we had to sit on the bistro chi side. Which was a lot quieter and private, which was perfect since I was catching up my girlfriends I have not seen in a while. The red sangria was delicious and they had a good drink menu. We ordered bleu cheese dip, oysters, sliders, hummus, fig appetizer and a few other appetizers. It was all good but it was super slow to come out of the kitchen. They were busy but it seriously took 45 min. So if your not in a rush is not a bad thing but I was hungry. The waitress was nice but she was very busy the whole time.

We came here on a Friday night around 7:00 and it was steady on the Kama side so we opted to sit on the Bistro side and order off the Kama menu. When we arrived it was quiet on the Bistro side but by the time we left every table was full. The atmosphere is pleasant, very clean and modern. The waitress brought 2 menus -- one for tapas and the other for Chinese food. We decided to order tapas. After giving us the menu, the waitress disappeared for about 15 minutes. We sat there twiddling our thumbs waiting for someone to take our drink order. This was a bad sign considering there were only 4 other people in the entire restaurant and they didn't have drinks or food yet either. We ordered the Chicken lettuce wraps, blue cheese fondue, sliders, pork rib wraps and calamari. The tapas came out one at a time... very slowly! There was about a 20 minute wait between every tapas plate. The food was very tasty and different. The portion sizes are small -- but tapas usually are. However, with the sliders we only got 2 and it was $8. Things were a bit pricey but we did have a Groupon. We really enjoyed the atmosphere and the food but probably won't be back just because of the service. They had one waitress for the entire dining room and she was running around the whole time. She never came by to refill drinks or ask how things were. After waiting about 20 minutes for our check, we finally asked the bus boy if he could get it for us. The manager came over and apologized profusely for the wait. I think it was so crowded by the time we left because they just weren't turning over tables. All the same people that were there before we came in were still there when we left.

Really good! A beautiful place. The bartenders were accommodating and friendly without having to stick their boobs in your face or pretend they are your best friend, you know, normal people. I got two glasses of wine which was deliciously chilled and crisp and my friend got two cape codders and then spilled her water all over herself and the crew there didn't seem to mind. As far as food goes, we only tried the deviled eggs this time, but they were good. Not delicious, because I left of the tabasco, but good. Also, the website said there would be live music on Thursdays but there was not. In fact when we walked in there was only one person there. Turns out that's on Saturdays now, which is kind of a bummer because I usually go to actual concerts on Saturday. Anyway, I can't wait to try some of their food and add a couple stars to their rating!
(3)Billy L.
One of the worst experiences I've ever had...GF actually was sick from this place. If you find yourself in the area go to Fat Cat instead. The only thing that impressed me was that the staff was allowing a homeless man to keep warm and watch TV at a table.....what didn't impress me is that they threw him out for us after I told them I was fine with where we were seated....then I remembered some skit from SNL or Dave Chappelle and realized they didn't purell the shit out of that table before I was eating .....and there's your salmonela/hobo urine flu.
(1)William P.
We have been a couple times for a few drinks, and it is a pretty great atmosphere. Smaller lounge with a modern feel, friendly crowd and good drinks. Have never had the food but it does look good!
(4)Robert H.
This place is doomed. The over under is July Fourth. The longest place to stay in this location was Kelley's. They put out a good plate of food for reasonable money, and had the same interesting window at cheaper drink prices. For whatever reason they decided to not pay their taxes in a timely manner and found out what happens if you go down that path. Foot traffic was pretty good from what I saw, they just screwed it all up. Next came The Jury Room. Those folks put alot of dough into the location, trying to be Newbury Street, and went belly up, even with their quite good draft beer selection. So here comes Kama, ignoring what did in The Jury Room, giving it a go as big time upscale. Today ( 7 April 2010) we stopped in for the first time. The asian girl with the blond hair, and the young fella who knows alot of show tunes, made some snarky comment about the Bride and myself, and had a good laugh. Well ho ho ho, hope you have your resume on a program that is easily updated, because the revenue that this place will earn will not pay the taxes, water, electric, and heat bills, while earning their young selves and the owner a decent return. In order for a place like this to succeed, not being in Weston, Dover, or even Cambridge or Somerville, you need people like the Bride and myself to want to come in, and more than once. There are not enough young chic hipsters with a bunch of cash in their pockets in Quincy to keep this place profitable. Don't get me wrong, I hope that Quincy becomes Restaurant Mecca, as it was shopper Mecca many many years before these tater tots were born. It would be a good thing for Quincy, again becoming a regional destination, for something other than hair care, or hot stone massages with happy endings. For now though, you need it to catch on with the locals. Draft beer selection grade : F...none. Bottled beer selection: C...sparse. The one Tapas we tried: C...stingy. I understand that Tapas are teeny portions, but the "Grilled cheese" was like "Are you kidding ?". It still would have worked if the prosciutto was like the $18 per pound stuff, but it was not, it was barely detectable as prosciutto at all. So again I say, it depends on who you are how reliable you find my reviews. You might think this place is an Oasis in a hick town, and worth every penny, I can see why you would, if that is where you are coming from. I am sure that the 2 there today thought I would prefer to be at "The Old Country Buffet", swilling instant mashed with lard gravy, accompanied by unlimitted chocolate milk, but we are looking for a quality experience that is not insulting on a variety of levels. The reality of the situation is that right across the street is wher the Community service vans pick up naughty folks to go pick litter up in orange vests by the Highway. They pick up right in front of Kama. That is where they are. One does not see Swan Boats, The Mandarin Hotel, or The Harvard Coop.
(2)Elena B.
Service and prices are great. The drinks were really good and the food is good. This place has a really relaxing atmosphere and comfortable chairs. I went on a night that was pretty slow, but I'm not convinced this place will do well if it's busy. The complex is a little small and I don't think it can really seat a lot of people. Trivia night here is on my bucket list!
(4)Brian R.
Good bar (when the right bartender is on otherwise there can be a wait), great tappas (rangoons, BLT arrinchini, calamari and prosciutto fig plate to name a few). food has always been great, very relaxed atmosphere (except for that one time the couple behind us was sucking face like a couple pre-teen algae eaters......but that only heightened the entertainment). wait staff is very friendly and engaging. it might seem a little too "hip", but once you move past the low, black (surprisingly comfortable) black cushion seats you realize that this place is just a good establishment with a little edge to it. very relaxed enviroment with great food and drinks. great place to bring a date (but be discreet if you feel the need to make out super hard......because everyone can see you)
(4)Lauren M.
Absolutely great resturant! The atmosphere, waitstaff, food, drinks are awesome! Definitely recommend this place to everyone!

First... me and my wife was trying to go to FAT CAT restaurant... but a hour wait scared us away... passing kama lounge ... the owner came out and asked if we wanted to look at the menu. Wasn't my first time... wanted some thing different from the usual quincy center populars trapping ... lack of a better word... so table for two we were seated quickly... The place was clean and looks sleek. The ambiance was low light setting like a club... every body was drinking... the food... tapas is what brought me in... where else can i get fois gras in quincy? So we order Foi Gras, Moo shoo chicken, duck confit, and kalbi ribs... the foi gras came out first... presentation.. it was plated well. the slivers of liver on the bruschetta was scrumptious.. the sweet jam that paired with it reminds me of the fois gras from the fame MISTRAL.... but this was 9 dollars for a slice of it. This was the peak of our dinner as from here on our.. every thing goes down hill. Like a horrible movie... You just have to sit it out. The moo shoo was bland and nothing special, till the wife kept chewing on a piece of chicken that wouldn't dissolve. The waitress took it away and said that would be comped..we asked for another fois gras right as the duck confit came out and that was just minor affairs.. but the Kalbi tips.. horrible... did some body dip this in salt? arghh... what started good... ended in a train wreck... .The server never introduce herself... so we never knew how to get her attention.. any rate... hit or miss...
(2)Tom H.
Great service but usually empty. They are trying to be a club in about 300 square feet of space.
(2)Christina S.
Went with a friend and we waited around 20 minutes for our drinks then an hour for tapas. The options of tapas are very limited (especially for a vegetarian). Had to ask for a glass of water four times. Visually this place looks nice but between the wait and the food options it's really not worth a trip.

I came here because I saw DOLLAR OYSTERS!! Don't get there too late on a Sunday or Monday for the oysters cuz they will b sold out! I always order Fried Calamari everywhere I go sos that was wat I ordered first. It was very delicious... ANDDD I always order an alcoholic beverage lol so i got the merry berry scorpion bowl...and drank it all by myself! Yes, I was a lito tipsy afta finishing the whole scorpion bowl. We ordered a soft shell crab w/ watercress salad, not really into that but it was alright. Something new. I met the manager there, his name is John! He's sooo adorable and cheerful...The dessert was on the house and it was yummy! =] all in all, Sasha Likes and she will be back !!
(5)Alyssa B.
I've been to The Kama Lounge and few times and I've never been disappointed. Tapas are always fun because you get to try so many different things! Favorite things on the menu: Bleu Cheese Fondue (A MUST. So delicious) Sweet Potato Fries Deviled Eggs w/ Goat Cheese (Sounds weird but so yummy) Fried Mik (Yes, this is the weirdest sounding one of all but it was a great dessert.)
(3)Alyssa S.
The Kama Lounge was a fun place to try out because their decor gives the usual Quincy bar scene something different. A couple friends and I came here a few weeks ago just for drinks, resisting the tempting tapas menu since we had already had dinner. After being ID'ed by the bouncer, we were asked if we would prefer to be seated in Bistro Chi or the Kama Lounge...we chose the latter. Although we were able to grab seats right away, we found the furniture to be a little bit strange. The set up of the lounge is small, with three chairs per the 4-5 small (side?) tables. The chairs are set low, and I thought it was awkward to be so close to the floor, hunched over. When we were settled in, a server came over right away to take our drink orders. She was really friendly and helpful. When serving our drinks, one of her necklaces actually slipped into my friend's drink, and she immediately apologized and had the bartender make a duplicate drink. I thought it was nice of her to act so quickly; we didn't even have time to complain about it before she offerred to return with a fresh replacement. All of our drinks were ordered off the cocktail menu, and they were well-mixed. The cocktails we ordered were roughly the same price, $8-9 each. The glasses of house wine we had next were $6 each; other wines were about $2-3 more per glass. Although their service and drinks were good, I will probably not return to Kama. It didn't stand out to me as a really special place. Also, there seemed to be a high number of men in the lounge...After the first hour we were there, the three of us were the only females in the restaurant (beside for the bartender and waitresses). I felt slightly out of place at this bar, and my back also hurt from sitting in those low chairs for so long.

Kama is a good addition to the Quincy scene. Look people, stop being such wanna be food snobs. Kama has creative tapas, thoughtful craft beer pairings, nice staff and the chef is into it and seems like a cool guy. We're not in Manhattan and it's not Per Se. You're in Quincy. Get over it and appreciate !

So sad the the Jury Room is gone - that place was much better than this. The drinks here are waaaay expensive and, although I like to get my drink on, the ones served up were very strong. The food was awesome - lettuce wraps were great as were the hot & sour and ginger veggie soups. Not a lot of beers - gotta hit up the Fat Cat for that. Service was weird - either someone was up our asses or not there for a good half hour. The area is way too small to put huge couches in - small bar tables would be better. Menus were confusing - what place was I sitting in? I had a Kama Lounge menu and a Bistro Chi menu. One or the other, folks - you want to sell us on both then put them both on the same menu. Also, why split the tab with two checks - one for drinks, the other for food? Made no sense whatsoever. The food is what saved this review from being one star.
(2)Jaimie D.
Kama lounge is delicious! The tapas can get pricey if you order too many, but they are fabulous! The drinks are good too, I really love the home made red sangria. I would recommend this place to laid back people who enjoy good food and a chill atmosphere. This place is a great addition to the Quincy area. Yum yum
(5)Jamie P.
the tapas and drinks are pretty good but its overpriced. Tapas are $5-8 per plate. Service is good.
(3)Sarah C.
Stumbled upon Kama last night because Fuji was closed. But, Kama was awesome!! They have a great lounge with modern seats and decor. They have $1 Island Creek Oysters on Mondays if you work in the industry. Great drink menu and tapas selection. Loved the tuna app. Next door is a Chinese joint that you can also order from, so we had to do the crab rangoons, and the were awesome. Great chill little spot in Quincy that's not too packed and a great Monday night spot for me.
(5)Annie I.
for the longest time i thought this place was the "karma lounge" and everyone in quincy was just showing their roots when they said "kama." they have a good selection of bar apps and a good drink menu, and it is a little more swanky than most of the bars on the strip

I've been here several times - love going on Mondays for $1 oysters! The "Kama Lounge" side of the restaurant has a dark, city/comfort feel and it's sister restaurant, Bistro Chi (which is attached and offers its own menu along with the tapas menu from Kama Lounge), has a "family atmosphere". Try the fondue - it's one-of-a-kind. We love the rib wraps from the tapas menu (I think it's safe to say that everything on the tapas menu is delicious...). I did have a salad once and it under-delivered, but other than that - service is always excellent and the drinks are plenty. Mine and my husband's favorite restaurant in the city.

I think this place is fabulous. The decor is like something out of an old Spanish movie. The food is delicious but it is pricey, but you have to remember this is a bar and food and drinks are pricey. If you want a nice new place to go to and hang out with friends this is definitely worth it. The bonus of this place is that you have the greatest Chinese restaurant right next door called Bistro Chi. I highly recommend this place. I just heard the grand opening is set for February 6th starting at 7pm till closing. Go to their website and print out the flyer for a little extra bonus.

I went here for tapas a couple of days ago and loved it. It was exactly what I had been hoping for and really fairly reasonable prices. We ate on the Bistro Chi part area, though its sort of one in the same, but the booths are easier on the bodies of the folks I was with versus the low lounge seats so its nice to have the option. We loved the figs, the short ribs were outstanding, as well as the beef tenderloin. We ordered 7 tapas for 3 people and then a few additional oysters, and that worked for us. The oysters were good, but for some reason took longer for something that's not even cooked. We ordered those first, but they came out after the figs which was the first of the seven to arrive. Everything was evenly paced timing wise which was great. Friendly service, and good atmosphere. My review for the actual Kama Lounge after 9pm, is different. Two things, I was told by two different employees at two different times at there was a DJ at 9pm, or 930. But when I returned that same evening, there was no DJ and he didn't show, it was ten pm when I asked about it, and was told there's no DJ tonight because he's on vacation. That's knowledge those other employees should have known as well, and not for nothing, but your DJ is on vacation and you don't hire a replacement? We had a group of 9 or so and having been here before, one gave a warning to stay away from the prickly pear martini, but one person arrived late, and of course chose that martini, and had to send it back... Stay away from the prickly pear martini. It's simply not good and should be taken off the menu, 6 plus opinions on this on two different visits confirm it, it's not good. Then we had to justify the disliking of the drink in order to get a different drink and still had to request that is be taken off the bill when settling up. So, yes on the dinner and food service, and a they could do better for bar and entertainment on this night...

Went back- everything was awesome.... couches, nice music, GREAT food, great atmosphere. Love this place! It is great...... just more upscale than Quincy is used to but I think it will be worth the extra couple of bucks....try the tuna....

The place is not too bad if your looking for something a bit different. Thursday they offer live entertainment from the host of local musicians, which is pretty cool. The food I thought was not bad. Not sure if it was worth what you pay for it but overall I liked it. The drinks like stated before are a bit on the expensive side. The main bar room is not to large with a stage at the end of the bar. Like I said go if you feel like something different. Don't expect to much or some bar like Downtown Boston because if you want that then go to Boston. The seating is a bit weird because they have couches all over the place. I personally don't like couches in my bars but that's me. If I wanted to drink a beer in a couch I would stay home. The waiting staff is very friendly for the most part. There is a great bartender that goes by the name of Emily I think who is rather good at her job. She always has a smile and a drink waiting for you on demand no wait. Again the prices are a bit high but it's not a bad place to start off for casual drinks before you move on to something else.

Really cool bar atmosphere. Drinks were okay, tapas were HUGE compared to what you can get in the city- so a good bang for your buck. Not sure if music matters to you, but the guitar guy on Friday night was entertaining, though not a great musician. bartenders were super friendly and food was delicious.

Love Love Kama. A week ago i would have given it all 5 stars but I'm going give a 4 for now. The service is usually great. I have never sat on the Bistro Chi side but always order food from their menu and it is to die for. Love Kama's tapas menu selections-buffalo chicken dip is my favorite. To elaborate on why it's down a star, other day i went with my friends. They have never been but i love Kama so much and always have a good time so i wanted to take my friends. We got there and sat down. My friends were impressed by the decor. However was not impress that we had to wait 20mins before anyone came to our table to ask if we wanted drinks or food. When we finally got someone to take our order and we got our food they did not bring any utensils or napkins. So i had to go up to the bar and get napkins and request utensils. Needless to say i was a little embarrass. So this is a memo to Kama's staff, get back in the swing of things and step your service up. Rachel and i believe her name is gwen-you guys are awesome. Maybe the service was like that because neither of you were there (believe rachel was on the bistro side). I hope the quality of the food never deteriorates. Some restaurants once business starts booming the quality of service and food goes down hill. Please Kama, don't be a part of this trend, PLEASE..

To start off this review, I'd like to state that I am a great fan of this man's many sister restaurants that reside in Quincy, so this review may be a little biased. I've been here but only twice with a large group of friends and the experience both times has been nothing short of excellent. We met the manager and he came out to greet us. Recognizing one of my friends as a regular customer, he even gave us a free order of a giant platter of meat right on the spot! I recommend trying out the mayonnaise shrimp as it is superb. I cannot say anything about the bar because I am not of that age yet, but it looks like people have fun. Great place to spend a late night!

We enjoyed the evening but found the food pretty ordinary. Good place to talk - it was quiet and easy to hold a conversation. The staff were attentive and knowledgeable and friendly. Enjoyed mac& cheese, found crab cakes too bready, beef was fine as was the baked oysters - but not memorable. Prices were fine for what it was. Might go back for low noise level and try something else but wouldn't rush back.

I've been here twice. I really, really dig the vibe of this place! Both times, some friends and I went in and sat on the comfy couches and ordered some drinks and small plates. The cocktials are great and the wines are pretty good too! I've never seen this place totally hoppin', but then again both times I went it wasn't terribly late, so I can't really speak to the late-night atmosphere. I'll def. be back!

My birthday fell on a Monday this year and I so happened to come across Kama Lounge last minute. My bff and I decided to be adventurous and check it out. We were more than pleased. I love the ambiance of this place. Along with the ambiance the food is delicious, drinks were yummy and the service was amazing. I am looking forward to many more evenings at Kama Lounge.

I loved this place! mostly for the bartenders who were great and for the young Sinatra impersonator!! We shared small plates/tapas and we loved everything, well the big guy did. I wasn't a fan of the spare rib wraps, thats not what they are called, but that's what they should be called very meh. everything else was wonderful even the tacky 21st bday that was happening while we were there! They say they would rent out the bar side I must research this because it would be a great spot for a party it even has a mini stage!! I really liked this place and will definitely return for tapas and drinks soon!

Great place! The service is fast and pleasant. The decor is dark and trendy, not for everyone but I liked it. The plating is like nothing you'd see in that area. Delicious comes to mind about the tapas. It was unique and different, I guess that's why they say small plates. It definately isn't Spanish. I had the sliders, spicy tuna (it's raw and fresh), figs with balsamic and the grilled cheese. My drinks were pleasantly strong so I got some hummus with fried pita chips in order to drive home. Overall great time! If you're in Quincy and want something different go to Kama Lounge.

FIrst time but definitely not the last. Parking easy Service great Food Excellent When you order wine you get a small cheese tray and this was great to have while waiting for your main course or tapas. We ordered 4 tapas selections and they were all great.

We just visited Kama Lounge for the first time, having purchased a coupon on Bloomspot. I had a great time. They have a great selection of cocktails and martinis - I ordered a cucumber drink that was so delicious. My boyfriend had a wonderful glass of pinot noir. Drinks less than $10. We tried the $1 oysters - nothing special. The rest of the food was superb and presented really well. We had the sweet potato fries, sliders, prosciutto wrapped figs, and sesame tuna. We also tried a deviled egg and wished we'd ordered more than 1! Prices are extremely reasonable, and the atmosphere is nice, though it did seem a little slow on a Sunday night. They also have TVs where you could watch sports or such. We will definitely return for another meal - the tough part is deciding what to order when everything is so delicious!

I've been here 3 times so far at various times and have not been let down yet! It's never busy or pact which is convenient for me. I've tried almost everything on the Tapas menu and have thoroughly enjoyed everything accept the calamari (seemed pre-frozen even though they said it wasn't). My must order item is the the Blue Cheese Chorizo Fondue, I literally crave this all the time!. Their drinks are decently priced for the area, Beats paying twice as much in Boston for a glass half the size. I wouldn't quite call it a lounge but definitely a comfortable setting for a low key night. Prices are good but if your super hungry then it can add up seeing as its small plates and it may not leave you full. $5-$9 a plate I believe. If you want something a little heavier you can order from the Chi Bistro side which I have not yet had to do. Tips; Live music on Saturdays, not sure if the genre switches each week but it was kind of Folky last week still cool. They are on restaurant.com and you can get a $25 off coupon, which is how I found out about this place.

When we drove past this tapas bar in Quincy, I had low expectations. I don't typically view the QC as a great town for a foodie. But I'm hovering at 4.5 stars on this one. So right off the bat, the Fois Gras and Calamari were underwhelming. The Sweet Potato Fries, Sirloin Sliders, and, oh dear, sweet figs wrapped in proscuitto atop of a puff of goat cheese... my eyes can't help but roll backward. And the Fried Coconut Milk dessert deserves its solo mention. Sweet, but not sickly sweet, this was the perfect little way to end a meal of tapas.

My roommate and I finally tried Kama Lounge after driving by it all the time. We went on a Tuesday night and were pleasantly surprised that there were $2 tapas specials! There were plenty of vegetarian/vegan options, and everything we tried was delicious. The bartender was very knowledgeable and helpful in recommending the "Eggplant Petals" which were AMAZING! We had such a great experience that we went back the next Tuesday and tried a new round of $2 specials. The decor inside Kama is fun and quirky/modern chic, with low coffee table style table and lounge type chairs that are a little awkward because they lean so far back. Needless to say we can't wait to go back!

I have been here several times and the food is always excellent. My friends and I have tried several things on the menu from the tapas to soups, noodles and more. The service is always good and the food is always hot, fresh and plentiful. I have also done take-out and the quality has remained the same. All servers have been knowledgeable about the menu items and able to answer any questions we've had. Decor is very cool. Seems like someplace that would be in New York or Boston. I have and do recommend this place to everyone!

I tried this place on a whim yesterday and I was really pleased. I sat on the Bistro Chi side of the place (there are two restaurants connected and you can order from either menu). The decor is funky and cool. The Bistro Chi side has a mainly white decor while the Kama side is black with black leather seating. I ordered from the Kama Lounge menu which is tapas/small plates. I think that for the quality of the food and the "trendiness" of tapas driving up the prices everywhere, I felt that it was reasonably priced. I promise you that you'd pay a ton more in Boston with varying levels of quality. I ordered 4 plates: blue cheeze chorizo dip, prosciutto wrapped figs with goat cheese and balsamic glaze, pulled pork quesadillas, and the homemade hummus and baked pita chips. I don't know what else to say except...DELICIOUS. My god it was so good, I texted a few of my friends during the meal telling them that they needed to stop by and try this food. The service was friendly and attentive, and they were happy to make suggestions on drinks and menu items. I think it's important to remind people in Quincy that when you want a decent atmosphere and good food, it's obviously going to cost a little more than the Granite Rail. I hope this place takes off like the very good restaurant across the street, Fat Cat. These 2 restaurants are my go-to places in Quincy. Also worth noting - the Bistro Chi menu looked delicious and they had some great prices, especially on lobster and lunch specials. I will be trying that next time!

The place just tries to hard to be hip and trendy. The drinks are too expensive. The space is tight, though there are comfortable couches if you can get one. I believe they offer food, but when I was there they gave me a menu for the Chinese place next door. All in all, I'm not a fan and will not go back.

Update: I went to Kama tonight with my sister for some dinner, and we left full and very happy with our choices. I haven't been to Kama in a while, mainly due to staff turnover and not exactly feeling very welcomed when we were in there, even though we've been very supportive customers since they opened. However, I am happy to say that the atmosphere has changed back to what we were originally introduced to. We ordered an array of tapas (we had a restaurant.com coupon and had to spend $35) so we ordered the blue cheese fondue, hummus, chicken lettuce wraps, hot and sour soup, and the stuffed portabello mushroom. All were amazing choices. I feel confident in saying that the attitude of Kama has improved as of late, especially due to Gwen. My bf and I went in on another occasion recently, and Gwen treated us so well that we actually commented to her that she would be the reason we would be back. I'm glad that we were introduced to her, because otherwise, I wouldn't have tried the updated menu tonight!

We had excellent service from our waitress. She was truly fantastic at her job. Actually all the servers were helpful, courteous, and friendly. On to the food: we ordered a variety of their Asian-inspired tapas, and we paid Boston prices for those tapas. That said, they are not of high quality. They were "meh." The figs with goat cheese were a disaster, placing a tiny fig on top of a huge piece of goat cheese made it feel like we were just eating a block of cheese and it wasn't even good goat--stop and shop brand? You are supposed to put goat cheese INSIDE the fig, which should be a larger fig. We ordered probably 4 or 5 different tapas and I think the best word to describe them was unsophisticated. We also ordered Chinese from the sister restaurant and had it brought over. Again, the Chinese was B quality. It's ok, I'd eat it again if someone really wanted to go there, but it's not even in my top 5. If they want to charge the prices that they do for the tapas then they need to have some tasters come in and work with the chefs to actually get something palatable--it was just one plate of disappointment after another. The drinks: Inexperienced bartender? All of the drinks are sugary sweet. We ordered at least 2 drinks each and couldn't find anything that wasn't sweet and poorly mixed. The drinks were by far the largest disappointment of the evening. The atmosphere: Shoot and a miss. They clearly tried to make a "classy lounge" atmosphere but it is awkward. The tables are only along the side to make room for what I guess is a dance floor and it feels awkward having all that empty space around you while you're eating. We all agreed the chairs are lounge chairs and make it difficult to sit up and eat your food. The place seems more like a standard Quincy bar that attempted to make a downtown-esque tapas/lounge scene and just missed the mark entirely. It was also freezing cold. They were blasting AC in December and even one of the server's had his coat on.
