Italian Cuisine
The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.
Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.
If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.

My daughter and I had dinner here on Sunday. Decor and ambience was very nice. Service was a little slow but very friendly. Eggplant Rolatini was very good. Not the best I've had but still really tasty. We also had spaghetti carbonara and really enjoyed it.

When I first got there I wasn't really impressed but the second I stepped inside any negativity was left outside. The charm and warmth just about knocked me out. I've gone here several times and everything just gets keeps getting better and better. Their Arancini is made just like mom used to make when you were growing up. Light, loaded with flavors and perfectly cooked. The Broccoli Rabi brought me almost to tears thinking back to exactly when my mom made it. Not at all bitter but very flavorful and exactly like she made it. I have never had it since my mom passed away and I love it here. All I need is their recipe. Anything ordered is absolutely phenomenal. Absolutely not 5 stars but 10+ stars for me!

We hadn't been here for a few years because it's always busy, but tonight it wasn't too bad. Our waitress was very pleasant and took our orders right away. I ordered the Linguini Vongale with red sauce and my husband ordered the chef's special. He really liked his dinner and mine was fantastic. It came out very hot and they gave me a ton of little neck clams (like 20-25). The red sauce was really good too. I ate every last morsel of it. I also had a Tahiti Tini cocktail and it was really tasty (sort of a cross between a pina colada and fruit punch). We were too full so we passed on dessert. Like I've said we haven't been here in a while, so I can't remember if we've had dessert in the past. I vaguely remember some of the other pasta dishes (I remember ordering a potato gnocchi during their first incarnation as a restaurant and it was good.) and I can't say I've been disappointed. They also have a take out/casual section where they make different kinds of salads and sandwiches. I've had a few of their subs and wraps and they're excellent. A little on the expensive side, but definitely worth it. The main restaurant looks like a typical Italian cafe, and it's on the fancy side. It's a bit pricey (15-20 dollars a person) but their food is very good and worth it. I definitely recommend eating here.

The food isn't bad.. When you can order it, that is. It's better than most of the other Italian places nearby. We usually do takeout and while the food is usually good, we have found on at least three separate occasions where we call within their listed operating hours (multiple times, because we're hungry and desperate) and no one answers. Maybe a social media account would be a wise place to put your hours for the day, or at least update the takeout menu. It's really frustrating.

The Wife and I ate here last night. It had been about 5 years and for no reason hadn't made it back. It was a rainy Tuesday night and I wanted some really good Italian food, surprisingly hard to find where I live. I had shrimp fra diavolo on my mind. We arrived early and there were a few tables to choose from. We sat near a large family celebrating a birthday. A small place with high ceilings, there was no issue with noise. Our waitress, Dawn, was very pleasant and accomodating. As you know, no matter how good the food is, if the waitress would rather be somewhere else, so would I. She was very nice. Service was good, the reason for only 4oo5 stars but to our amazement (and Dawn's) the place was full with all tables taken. Tuesday? Raining outside? Really? They could have used another waitress. The drinks were perfect. Nice fresh bread with EVOO to dip it in. Water glasses kept full. The open kitchen, which I typically like to see, had a little issue with containing the smoke from something they were cooking (burning?), but it wasn't a big deal. Now to the meal. We started with a Caesar salad (anchovies on the side). Nice dressing. We shared and both enjoyed it. My wife ordered her standard: Chicken Parm. She loved it! Although hard to, that can be messed up. It was perfect to her liking. I order the Fettuccine Shrimp Fra Diavolo. Freaken' awesome. I ordered it mild because sometimes a chef can go overboard with the heat. The pasta was el dente and meaty. 5 large and perfectly cooked shrimp. Perfect. We'll be back. Go early or make a reservation. Bar area opens on Thursday night through the weekend.

My husband and I came here for dinner a few weeks ago on a Friday. We made a reservation for dinner at 6 pm because we wanted to eat on the earlier side. The place was busy, but there were a few tables upstairs that were open, so it did not seem as if you needed a reservation. Our waitress was very nice, she recommended the dish i ended up ordering. The bread basket was nothing special. As we all know, a bread basket can either make or break a restaurant, and this did not help it. We split the caprese salad, it was ok. I ordered the Fusilli Avellinese, which was good, on the lighter side, and i had plenty to bring home. I enjoyed it. My husband got the steak tips which he loved, said they were better than champions. All in all, the food was good, did not wow me, and next time I would just order take out.

We have catered food from Petrillo's a few times, but most recently for our rehearsal dinner boat cruise and our pre-wedding day bridal lunch...We worked with Linda, who is fantastic! They offer entree size meatballs but accommodated us for appetizer size ones for our cruise. For our luncheon we ordered a tray of the sandwiches and tray of the wraps (which are not on the catering menu but, they made us a tray of wraps without contest) and the large garden salad... the sandwiches are massive and amazing! There is a chicken cutlet, mozzarella, prosciutto sandwich that is heavenly!!! The food stays very hot in the trays they pack it in and the prices are so reasonable for the high quality of food they offer. We highly recommend Petrillo's, the food is delicious and the customer service is top-notch!

This place has some great "red sauce" Italian food. It's a little on the heavy side, but is always delicious and tastes like something an old Italian grandmother would make. I love their chicken marsala, mussels and fresh pasta. They also have the best bread for dipping! My only complaint and why I'm docking a star is that there is often a long wait for a table if you don't have a reservation. I feel like they tend to overbook with reservations and don't leave enough open tables for walk-ins. I've walked in a few times to an empty restaurant, only to be told that they can't seat me because they are expecting parties. Which, I understand, but it's frustrating to see all the empty tables and be told you can't sit down. I feel like maybe they could be a little more accommodating. Or maybe I should just learn my lesson and make a reservation! :)

Sorry, but this place left me unimpressed. Location itself is very small (but they do take reservations) clean, and has off-white table cloths (a nice touch I think) Food... many things to comment on... Waitress was new, despite this she did well. However, service (in general) could have been a little more attentive, and a little quicker. (Personal conversations are okay, but not at customer's expense) There was a special the night I was there which had something like prosciutto, wrapped in a deep fried crostini, with mozzarella, and a bruschetta like filling. It was good, but a little over salted (note: I have heightened salt taste) and there was too much going on, so some flavors got lost Actual bruschetta was also good, and I liked the idea of using balsamic on it. However, I would have used less balsamic (tomatoes already provide acidity) and thinner bread) Of yes... bread served before the meal was nice and fresh. As for main courses, gnocchi was beyond boring. Plus the tomato sauce that comes with it was okay, but the gnocchi taste better without it. That is, plain gnocchi taste better than them with the sauce! Also, I don't remember what pasta dish I had, but it was also uninteresting, and left me with no desire to devour it. It also lacked something crunchy like asparagus. Meatballs (side) were pretty good though. One more disappointment, for dessert I wanted Tiramisu, but they had run out. If this was Monday, I could understand. But this was a Saturday night. I don't care if there was another desert the pasty chef made special that day... no excuse. Overpriced for mediocre food, and lack of a tiramisu, no thanks...

7/17/15 Been coming to Pertillo's for years.... family cooking and family all over the place. Huge menu ranging from salads and sandwiches, to the best Italian and seafood available. Friday is rice ball day! Tonight they were running an appetizer special: Asparagus with mozzarella cheese wrapped in prosciutto, and Seafood stuffed haddock. The appetizer was a work of art and was yummy. The stuffed haddock was made with a shrimp scampi sauce, stuffed with shrimp, scallops, and sole....and a jumbo shrimp on the side. Both my wife and I had it, it was amazing. As a frequent diner at Petrillo's (as well as full dinner take out), I recommend their food as high as any restaurant. ***** Petrillo's also catered a family pre-wedding diner for 60 several years ago and was fantastic.

Dined there last evening with my wife and another couple. The ambiance was a refined cafe with a noise level that was quiet enough to have a conversation despite the restuarant being filled to capacity. The menu provides a broad selection of entrees. I had a veal francesca, others had a clam and pasta, shrimp cacciatori, sausage and pasta dish. Side dishes of meatballs and sausage. Selection of wine is adequate and normally priced. My meal (veal francesca) was tasty and ample. That included a fusilli pasta. A salad (Caesar) was first served that was well prepared but lacked anchovies. Service was quite good. Overall a pleasant meal. I will return when in the mood for Italian. I would recommend this place as a mid priced Italian restuarant.

One of my favorite spots for take out on the North Shore. I usually get the egg plant parm or veal parm. Both are delicious. The eggplant rollatini is my favorite app. Overall large portions for the price, we eat here every couple months.
(5)Rick G.
I've been here only once for take out. I ordered the chicken saltimbocca and it was extremely good. It tasted the way chicken saltimbocca is supposed to taste and not made with some basic tasteless gravy type sauce. I'm sure their chicken marsala is just as good. I can't comment on the rest of their menu but I will be back. The restaurant is very clean.
(4)Mark A.
Without a doubt this is the best of the best on the North Shore. Not only is the food great but the prices are very low. I get take out because I live near by. Mickey does a great job and always has a smile and a nice word. I can't imagine anybody not being amazed by this food. Forget fast food. For the same price you get an amazing home made sub on a delicious sub roll. The best meatballs and sausages I ever ate. Homemade pasta and sauce. I think I will order tonight. YUM YUM
(5)Suzanne C.
Wonderful location and classy decor and setup awaited our group of six celebrating a birthday when we arrived. We were very impressed with the quality of food prepared with the freshest and finest ingredients. The eggplant rolatini and calamari are delicious and really the best we've ever been served. We enjoyed the wine and when dinner came we were more than satisfied with the portions and presentation of our meals. The veal Francesca was out of this world and broccoli rabe on side didn't disappoint either! Really everything on menu is worth trying and a visit back to restaurant is a must for us! Bravo Linda and the Petrillo family for a fine and superb place to eat for any occasion if you love Italian cooking!
(5)Jim A.
Great food, my only minor criticism is the white noise. Second time eating there, just some low level relaxing music would make a huge difference.
(4)Lauren F.
Just not good! Got takeout last night--cheese ravioli with a side of two meatballs. With all the positive reviews, one would think that Petrillo's had mastered this very simple dish. Not true. The order contained six large ravioli with a plain ricotta filling. The dough was quite thick which made them chewy and underdone along the edges, but they were edible and I did eat them. The meatballs on the other hand were atrocious! Not only were they very dense and mealy, but they were cold to the touch! Obviously reheated, and hadn't even been simmering in warm marinara! They were also laced with a copious amount of "filler" (see picture). I paid $2.00 each for those extra "meat"balls! We will not be returning, which is unfortunate because they are so close.

Our meal on Saturday night was nothing short of disgusting! It took nearly an hour for our food to come and the waitress did not check with us during that time nor did she apologize. We asked for garlic bread with melted mozzarella. What we got was a dreadful plate of flat, squashed mush with a scant sprinkle of Parmesan cheese. It was oily and greasy and gross. My husband's veal chop special was all right as was my chicken but the side of pasta was undercooked and totally stuck together. We clearly need to find another Italian restaurant on the North Shore. This place is no longer an option.
(1)Andrew G.
Hands down, the best Italian food I've had on the North Shore. I've dined in a couple times and the service was great, but mostly I get takeout. The staff is very friendly and service is prompt. Always upgrade to the homemade fusilli pasta, it's well worth it. Love the chicken Parm, Toasted Ravioli and Arancini's on Friday night. I've had some of the sandwiches as well and they're great. Portions are large and quality is unmatched for the price. Love this place. (Helps they are right around the corner too).
(5)Melanie H.
Great chicken parm! Can't wait to come back..they gave us a lot of bread too and it stayed soft the next day while in the bag..some places serve bread that goes hard after a few minutes! Kudos
(5)Kate S.
best Italian food in the area. I've never had a bad meal here. The sauteed dishes are top notch, the prices are just right. The staff from waitresses to managers are so nice and helpful. You can't go wrong here...if you have to wait for a seat, do it, you will not be disappointed!
(5)Cindy C.
Absolutely amazing Italian at an affordable price. We have had functions and ordered catered food from here as well. It is always a hit with our family and friends.
(5)Chris N.
My favorite all-around Italian restaurant. The food is North-End quality, super fresh, reasonably price, and is a lot more convenient then having to go into Boston. The seafood risotto is amazing.
(5)Brad H.
I grew up in the area so I know Peabody, MA very well, but more importantly I worked a few doors down from Petrillo's for years and I always ate lunch here on Fridays. The food is outstanding and if your lucky enough to see their seafood chowder on Fridays for lunch, just order it. Its the best on the North Shore and I'm NOT exaggerating. What really prompts my review here is a recent function my wife and I threw for a family dinner/lunch last Sunday afternoon. We had the restaurant to ourselves from 1230pm-4pm in their dining area, due to the walk upstairs being a little too much for my grandmother to handle. The service was just impeccable. We had constant wait staff for beer, wine, soda and other beverages even though we had sort of an open table of assorted beverages for our guests. We chose a simple Italian menu but with the setup of three square tables of about 10 per table the meal still felt like family. Appetizers came out all together and were amazing, all homemade and you can certainly tell when something is frozen. Entree's were stellar, but the stars of the show were the homemade meatballs, eggplant parm and the homemade fusili pasta. The restaurant uses a sort of light red sauce (gravy) like an orange sauce and it is fantastic. We did bring our own desert but the staff was happy to cut and distribute our cake with coffee and tea to our guests following the meal. I got nothing but raves from guests about all the food throughout the dinner and I didn't think people were telling me what I wanted to here. Overall, Petrillo's is amazing and I feel is a hidden gem in the old Tanner City. The owner Linda, was wonderful and pleasant to work with, she was there to oversee our whole event. The price was very reasonable as well. I would certainly consider them again for a function and would recommend them for sure.
(5)Jennifer M.
Food was great and large portions! We always have to wait even though we book a reservation way in advance though and that is frustrating. Other wise the experiance was great!
(4)Amy K.
A disappointing meal considering so many positive reviews. The restaurant was mostly empty on a Tuesday night, and we were seated right away. Immediately after placing our order the very helpful and friendly server brought us a basket of bread. The bread didn't seem fresh and was very much like Wonder Bread-- white bread full of air but no substance or flavor. Just a few minutes later-- I barely had time to eat half a piece of the disappointing bread-- the server brought out our three meals. Fast service may seem an odd thing to criticize but our meals came out of the kitchen so fast there is no way they were freshly cooked. I suspect everything is cooked earlier and meals are simply "assembled" when ordered. I ordered the Ziti Con Pollo (ziti with chicken and broccoli in white wine sauce) which another reviewer had remarked was delicious. The portion size was generous but that was the most positive thing about the dish. The ziti were severely undercooked and gritty, and the dish was over salted and had an overzealous amount of garlic flavor. This is an Italian restaurant! If they have only one thing nailed it ought to be al dente pasta.
(2)Scott B.
The food here is very good. Great reasonable Italian food. Good service, a nice place. I've eaten here a few times, both lunch and dinner and the food has always been good. Last night I had the veal marsala. Very tasty, came with wonderful potatoes and string beans. The portion was a tad small, I do have to say, though. My one complaint, though, was being charged for a soda refill. NOBODY does that anymore. Had I known, I wouldn't have ordered a 2nd one. I mean, that's just poor, and sneaky. Like I said, nobody else charges for soda refills any more. Had it been served in a can, I could understand, but out of the fountain, when it's not indicated on the menu, that's just sneaky and slimy. Just the principle of it.
(4)mary a.
Good food. Good wine. Good cappuccino. They give you time between courses rather than rushing your food out. There is plenty of parking across the street. Totally worth the visit.
(5)Jay S.
Been going here for years some of the best Italian food I have ever tasted so I decided to propose to my girlfriend a couple years ago and they did such a nice job helping me and setting me up for the big moment I highly recommend this place for the great food and customer service with a friendly environment oh and my girlfriend said yes
(5)J P.
Decided to try this place tonight and made a reservation online. When we showed up they didn't have our reservation. They asked if we made it online and if we received a call back I said no. But luckily they were able to get us a table. It was quite busy but granted it's a Saturday night. For appetizer I ordered the caprese salad which was good, the veal was very good as well and the Petrillo fettuccine was pretty good. As far as dessert the red velvet cake was delicious. All in all a good meal.
(4)Lois W.
Happily found this warm and classy restaurant on a very snowy night in the Boston area. The food was delicious Italian (and we live near the North End in Boston). It was superior to most. Veal parm. delicious with wonderful tomato sauce on the pasta. Service was great, and I'd definitely visit this restaurant next time we come to the North Shore. Highly recommend for food and atmosphere.
(5)Katie B.
Eggplant parm to go! HUGE portion and cheap! It was delicious! I've been several times but only dining in and I've always enjoyed my meal. This was my first time ordering out and it won't be my last. It was quick and everyone there is great!
(5)Brad B.
This is a great place, the food is always excellent, the service is great, and the price is very fair. If you like, Italian food I highly recommend this place.
(5)Brian S.
Great portion size's. Friendly environment. Serve was a little slow, but the server apologizes for it. From being from chicago, yelp was very helpful. It was a little pricey but it was worth it. Would go again.

Let me premise this review by saying I was here for a work sponsored event. MY work held an event here for 45 people in their upstairs room. This is a nice room with a bar and the space was set up with four long tables that had about 10-12 chairs. We pre ordered the food which included salad, sides, main course and dessert. The salad was simple. The sides were: -broccoli mashed potatoes -pasta The main course options were: -NY sirloin steak -chicken florentine with spinach and eggplant in marinara sauce o -baked haddock with artichokes, asparagus, cherry tomatoes in a garlic white wine sauce. The dessert was tiramisu which was ok. I had the NY sirloin steak which was a generous size. I barely finished the steak and it delicious! Actually the main courses were all a generous helping. The sides were good, nothing out of the ordinary. The service was great! There were two servers, one bus boy and a bartender. All very courteous and helpful. I also met Linda the owner who was very kind and helpful working with me to put this event together. Great place for an event with less than 50 people. If I'm ever around Peabody, I'd come back here for a meal.
(4)Jim W.
Another great italian restaurant. Great food. Priced reasonably. Another reason to stay on the north shore and avoid madness in the north end. My one suggestion ... make sure to get seated downstairs. Upstairs too noisy. However upstairs has a bar and if you like eating at a bar... then go upstairs. We happen to like sitting at the bar if it's just the two of us. Great place.
(4)Rachael T.
Great Italian style food! Their chicken broccoli ziti is delicious!! I usually get it to go because its half the price as dining in and the to go portions are still huge. One order is definitely enough for two meals so I will usually have it for dinner then lunch the next day. All orders come with fresh bread as well. Prices are very reasonable.
(5)Casey H.
This place is fabulous! It is our go-to special occasion spot. We always get the eggplant rollatini appetizer, it is the most perfect way to start a meal. My favorite dish is the chicken saltimboca in marsala sauce, and my fiance loves the filet. One time I ordered the lobster ravioli and it was way too rich, so I stick to the chicken every time. It can be chilly in there at times, but service is always great, and they are very accomodating. I once brought my elderly grandmother there, who cant do stairs (I reserved it without thinking), and the staff worked it out and sat us downstairs. We were very grateful. I highly reccomend this place. It's a jem in Peabody!

If you love Italian food, you'll love Petrillo's.

Again I know it seems bizarre and I really should go there one time before I totally bash the place and maybe I will rescind or change my view if and when I do go again but based on the occasion that I am recalling on I wasn't overly impressed for all the hype this place gets. It's a bit hap-hazard inside... somewhat cohesive though I think the disjointedness comes mostly from the way the building is structured and not necessarily how they have made it their own. Though you have to really wonder where the bridge lies between old school Italian restaurant with murals and vine motifs and upscale lily-white tablecloth dining. That being said the menu also seems a bit confusing. From what I remember there were things on there that didn't make sense such as a choice of sides with certain dishes like veal saltimbocca when traditionally I would've seen that served with pasta which again makes me think this is more of a French/Italian steakhouse/bistro rather than an Italian kitchen. I don't know if they've got their concept figured out entirely. I remember distinctly the sauce that came with the dish I ordered though not the dish itself and no matter what the dish was the sauce was a bit sweet due to an overabundance of marsala in the demi-glace or whatever they called it because it tasted a bit like it was out of a package. Not 100% certain but for the texture and sweetness I really had to wonder if there was caramel coloring etc in there. Anyway, I do want to go back to give it another shot and hopefully I can update and edit this as a means to be more fair but for now with the service not being memorable at all I'll leave it at two stars, sorry everyone!
(2)J V.
I love Petrillo's, this is my go to place when I'm at home and don't wanna drive to far for great Italian. I can honestly say, Linda makes the BEST Chicken Ziti Broccoli on the planet. This is a great place to go for a nice night out, take out, or like I did for my rehearsal dinner, to host an important event at. I strongly recommend!!!
(5)James B.
I come here A LOT, mostly for the takeout which is comparable only in price to other takeout sub shops, but of a much better quality. Large portions, excellent red sauce, and everything tastes fresh just as if you were getting it from the dining room side. I like that they remember your name when you come in, they greet you enthusiastically, and they've never gotten my order wrong (I know this seems trivial, but this happens in other places way more often than you would think). Overall excellent value and delicious food, which is why I go back time and time again.
(5)Kayley T.
I feel that it's easy to distinguish a great Italian place, and it really comes down to whether or not they can pull off a red sauce. I will just say that Petrillo's sauce is fantastic. I love it on everything. We usually get take out from here (cheaper than sitting for dinner, just as delicious), and we always have them put an extra container of it. There's always a lady working behind the counter, she's definitely your typical Italian Momma who always hooks us up with extra bread. We love their home made fusilli and meatballs. They have arancini occasionally around lunch time (do try, if you can!). There isn't one thing we've tried from here that wasn't delicious. Their ingredients are fresh, some from Italy. They have amazing cheese, and always have fresh prosciutto leg on the meat cutter. Mmmmm!! The only bad thing I have to say about it, is that upstairs is uncomfortably loud. My husband and I wanted to take his Mom here to try it for dinner, and they sat us upstairs. It was so loud that we couldn't even hear ourselves talk! If you want to enjoy a quiet peaceful meal and want to hear your conversation instead of everyone else around you, make sure you specify that you'd like to be seated downstairs. Also, dinner reservations are a MUST unless you don't mind waiting an hour or more!
(4)Maria T.
The best Italian food around!!!!!!! I have never got a bad meal and I go weekly. The service is great. The place is packed at dinner time so make a reservation, you will not regret it !!!!!!
(5)Rich H.
Not Bad...But not good either and so-so doesn't cut it when you're paying these crazy prices for pasta based dishes. The interior was very cozy and felt a little upscale modern vibe. Unfortunatley, the waitress had the old "I'm doing you a favor and I can't get out of here fast enough" attitude. That's probably not a good thing when you are trying to sell the high end establishment theme. My wife asked if there was a pink cream sauce substitute and the woman snapped at her no, as if was the most absurd question ever asked in an Italian resturant. A little too heavy with the lemon for a cream dish for my liking. The warm bread and oil were serviceable, although I'm not a big fan of the spice it yourself oil. The portions were fair, but inconsistent , we had a party of 6 and visably noticed the portion differential for the same dishes. Bottom line is that I wouldn't go out of my way to go back, but if my friends were going, I'd give it another shot.

After reading about Petrillo's in NorthShore magazine, my husband and I decided to give it a shot. The Good: The house salad was huge and delicious. Great bread. The menu had a ton of options. The atmosphere is nice and laid back. The Bad: The service was pretty terrible. When we arrived, there were two people in front of us who we told the wait would be 10-15 minutes. The hostess lead them upstairs to the bar to wait, and came back for us, where she told us we'd have a 25-30 minute wait. We chose to head up to the bar, and decided to eat there. And then we waited and waited. They were super busy, and the bartender was waiting on the entire upstairs dining room. Another couple joined us at the bar, so the bartender not only had a full dining room, but a full bar as well. The hostess then came upstairs, and the people who came in before us asked how much longer (after about 15 minutes), and they were told 20 more minutes (when their initial wait time was 15 min., max) They decided to eat at the bar as well. I don't blame the bartender; he did a great job with what he had to work with. I just think they were under-prepared for such a busy Tuesday. The other bad: we were listed the specials, and placed our orders at the same time the other 2 couples at the bar ordered. The guy next to us ordered the special, and 15 minutes later, a waitress came up and said they were out of it. My husband ordered the gnocchi, and about 20 minutes after ordering, the waitress came up and told us they were out of that, too. They were also out of dessert. The Mediocre: The food was decent. I had a chicken & prosciutto dish that came with a creamy lemon sauce. It was good, but a little too banquety, the sauce was reminiscent of a hollandaise you'd get at a wedding reception over the cordon bleu. My husband got the gnocchi, but with tortellini instead. The pasta was ok, the spicy tomato sauce was yummy. The people sitting next to us said their antipasto was the best they've had. The Verdict: I wouldn't go back, but I wouldn't not recommend it. Make a reservation if you do plan to go, just to be safe. Our bill came to about $75 with a drink, salad, and entree each.

This is a mediocre Italian restaurant. Our salads were drenched with dressing. My entree - gorgonzola gnocci with chicken in a brown garlic sauce was a disaster. The gnocci were the size of small ravioli, filled with overpowering gorgonzola that made a terrible contrast with a sickeningly sweet brown sauce. My wife's meal was ziti with chicken and tomato sauce. Her entree was more successful. The sauce was lively, although the chicken was overdone.

Best chicken ever! get the portofino. I would give it 5 stars but the bread wasn't all that great and an Italian restaurant should have good warm bread
(4)Ryan R.
Very simply...the best Italian on the North Shore. Matt the bartender...fabulous! I've told friends, they've gone, and haven't been disappointed. It gets better and better...but I have two issues - recent upcharge if you want a side of pasta instead of vegetable (I don't get it.) Bar is oddly upstairs and should be downstairs and gets rather loud when full.

Petrillo's is one of my favorite places to pick up a quick and quality sub sandwich. Portions are always large and pricing very reasonable. A must try for anyone on the North Shore with a craving for true Italian cuisine!

This place is really really nice. The food, atmosphere and service were Top Notch. We did not dine in the restaurant but were in a function room. The food was family style and everything was delicious, even the salad! We will go back to try the restaurant out but if the food in the function room is that GOOD, I'm sure the restaurant will be too!

It's been many months since I was last here. Again the food was excellent however this time around the place was FREEZING (it was 12:30pm) and I had to eat with my winter coat on. My toes were frozen. I asked the waitress about turning up the heat and she said it was warming up slowly. I didn't notice any improvement in the 45 minutes I was there. Also service was terrible. I waited 15 minutes before my order was taken and there were not many people there. The waitress said she'd be right back with some bread. I had to remind her 15 minutes later again and she brought it out with my food. I was only drinking water and had to work hard to flag her down to get a refill. There weren't that many people there when the service problems started, but as it filled up, it was clear she was the only waitstaff working so things just became worse. I was on lunch break and needed to get back to work, so I was pretty frustrated. Still, the food was excellent.

Based on all of the recommendations I have gotten, I was disappointed. Service was great and we had a lovely night, but the food was very average Italian-American. The calamari waS good -- not over cooked. Special eggplant app with doused with an overly thick pesto and lots of cheese so that the taste of eggplant was nowhere to be found. My veal Francese wAs tender, but not well-balanced -- overly acidic and studded with lemon seeds. The wine list was disappointing, but the espresso martini was delicious for "dessert". My husband was very disappointed with his dish. Our companions loved theirs, but they are not Italian. I really wanted it to be good because there is a dearth of good Italian-American on the North Shore.

LOVE Petrillo's. They are on the few Italian restaurant's on the North Shore that I trust and know has authentic food made with love! They have some of the best tiramisu and I keep trying to get the recipe but it's a family secret! I have ordered several types of dishes here having been a fan for years and have never been let down. You are taken care of when you come here. The dining room is very nicely set up- great place for a celebration or just a get together. I would highly recommend this place, it's family owned by people who are actually passionate about their food.
(4)Mike P.
You must try Petrillo's, whether fine dining or grabbing a few subs for takeout, Petrillo's never ceases to amaze me. Fresh everything and entirely authentic. I've been going here since its inception. I have to recommend the eggplant rollitini, it's just unreal. Hope this place stays awesome forever.

Good Itaian food in the burbs of Boston. I loved this place! It was cozy, great selection of wine, and a great homemade pasta. The veal braciole was new and exciting. I can't wait to try it again.

When Tony Baloney and Gina Bagadonutz come into town they don't want no sushi or tacos. Knowhatimean? I had to eat right in the center of Peabody Square because I had to be near the Higgins School to pick up my little actor who was in a MAJOR Hollywood/Broadway play practice dress rehearsal of which he was the star. I also had my inlaws, my outlaws, my parents, my wife, my daughter and a man named Uncle with me. All of whom just will not settle for sub-par, Sub-quality, submarine type food. High standards. This is a very nice looking place from the outside and once inside it is as well. it's very modern, high ceilings, open kitchen, spacious, earth tones, decor reminiscent of a nice Italian Bistro. Our server was a very nice woman who was attentive and professional. I had the Seafood Chowder which was FULL of fish, clam, small shrinp and pieces of lobster. (My favorite thing I had) I had a Caesar salad next which was big and filling also fresh and delicious. Main dish was a special which had veal, lobster ravioli, scallops and shrimp. Odd pairing but also quite good. The lobster ravioli needed more lobster and less cheese but the sauce (Vodka?) another member of the clan had with hers was delicious and sopped up by me with bread to her dismay because she was trying to eat it but I was able to hip check her and stand on her back while eating her sauce. The bread was VERY fresh and I would like to know where they get it because it was worthy of stealing. Desert: Peanut butter ice cream ball with carmel in the middle and a lemon sherbet thing which was also awesome. In closing, Very good Italiano in a suburban setting, amazingly reasonable pricing and great service. We will all be back except man named Uncle because he, in fact did not exist. If he did I would have stolen his sauce too. 4 Yums. (YUMYUMYUMYUM)

Petrillos is the best Italian Boston. There are so many amazing things here I can never decide what to get. The toasted raviolis are dangerously good. The home made sauce is the best I have ever had. The chicken broccoli ziti is out of this world. I highly recommend their take out! The caprese salad is amazinggggggggg. My family and I LOVE Petrillos! If I had to recommend one Restaurant this would definitely be the one. I promise you will not be disappointed with this true Italian gem.

I was fortunate enough to have my 'surprise' bridal shower at Petrillo's. Let me start of by saying that atleast half of the women attending the shower were off the boat Italian. For anyone that knows Italian women they are extremely difficult to please. Our menu started off with a mixed field green salad and was followed by eggplant parm, ziti, chicken piccata, broccoli, and roasted potatoes. Everything was so, so yummy but the real showstoppers were the piccata and potatoes. I've never been a huge a fan of chicken piccata but it was heavenly. Also, the pasta was cooked just right, al dente. Everyone was blown away. If you are looking into hosting a private party definitely consider Petrillo's. The upstairs was cozy and private. Can't wait to go back...after the wedding, of course. I need to fit in to my dress!

Went here back in February for a friends 40'th birthday. It is on the small side for a group of 15- we had a late reservation (well late for me- at 8pm. I am used to eating dinner on Saturday by 6pm :-) Its my old age I guess? LOL) Anyways one of the big parties from earlier took a little longer then expected so we didn't get our table right away- that is fine- except there is not much space to wait at other then the take out area. Anyways we did finally get our 2nd floor table (ended up being able to spread to 2 tables when another large party left as well) and the food was amazing, as was the service. I got a Caesar salad, and chicken parm which was enough for 3 people. I seriously was full from dinner, had some for lunch the next day and the day after as well. Yummy Italian for sure. Everything is made there from what I was told by the birthday girl.

Some people call it "spaghetti sauce," others call it "gravy," but when we enjoy a well-made pasta topping, we don't hesitate to mop up the extra with some bread rather than let it go to waste. You can't always tell which restaurants are making fresh pasta, or their own tiramisu, by looking at the red tablecloths and white napkins. Whether you're craving a simple plate of spaghetti and meatballs, or an osso buco that melts in your mouth. Petrillo's is much more than the overused yelp term "gem". Located in downtown Peabody, Petrillo's is in a coal mine and somehow managed to squeeze out a diamond! Have you ever wondered what it is about Italian food that makes you weak in knees? Good Italian outside of the North End is hard to find but Petrillo's has managed to bring the robust flavors of little Italy to the North Shore. On this particular evening I enjoyed the veal parmigana with homemade fusille, Caesar salad, eggplant tower appetizer, homemade canolli with chocolate chip filling, and chocolate mouse. One word to describe ALL of the above: "Phenomenal". Don't take my word for it, or others, just go see for yourself!

I considered only giving four stars because it's so expensive dining in. But it's worth the $. Plus, I discovered about six months ago that doing take-out was really cheap! I love the Italian mother that works the counter, and what I assume is her son or nephew (they seem to talk like family) prepping in the counter area, both are incredibly friendly. I love the pasta primavera. I hate cream/alfredo sauces that primaveras are often made with, but Petrillos does an awesome garlic oil sauce that light but tasty. They also always make us the bruschetta even though it's not on their take out menu. The guy behind the counter is almost always mixing the tomatoes and putting on the delicious balsamic glaze and I'm arriving to pick up my food. The only downside is that I often call on a Monday, always forgetting that they are closed on Mondays.

Greetings fellow Cantabridgeans and those who like to see one out of his natural habitat. My wife and I ventured to Peabody for a family dinner to this Italian restaurant. The decor and lighting is somewhat cheesy (faux grape vines etc.) but overall the ambiance is comfortable and the food is authentic. I recommend the Chicken Parmesan. Good wine list. You will likely enjoy your dinner here.

Just had takeout from here and the fantastic flavors of my Chicken Caprese are still dancing like a party in my mouth. This is a great dish, featuring sauted chicken cutlets (plural) sauteed with tomatoes, fresh mozzarella and a light marinara sauce. I was also pleasantly surprised to find some fresh, non mushy broccoli and mashed potatoes in my round, plastic container. We also got a large garden salad, big enough for two, and an order of spaghetti and meatballs. Total charge, $22. I'd pay at least $15 more at Vinny T's, and it wouldn't be near as good. Good deal all around. Tasty food, that easily survived the trip home. I dined in here probably four years ago, remember liking it, but for some reason didn't return. I recall needing a reservation, and I'm a bad planner, so that may have been part of it.

We ate here last night and it wasn't my first time. I wasn't disappointed. I started with a martini that was generous, tasty, and affordable. The Caesar salad was ice cold, which I love and fresh tasting. I followed up with chicken saltimboca, which was amazingly good and flavorful. To quote a famous commercial, "I can't believe I ate the whole thing!" I really should have left some, but it was so good, I couldn't help but eat all of it. The grand finale was chocolate mousse, in a margarita glass, with whipped cream, and dusted with cinnamon. It was smooth, chocolaty and delicious. My only complaint was our server who was hard to come by. I would have gladly had another martini, but she never offered, and the window closed. You don't always get the same server though, and for this reason, I'll be back again...and again....and again.

Forget Red Robin - PETRILLO'S YUMMMMMM ! We had another great dinner which was chicken eggplant parm smothered in mushrooms as requested. I ordered my usual 12 meatballs to go. They are so delicious i have actually eaten them for breakfast. Tried a new apple martini with caramel - was also good!

All and all pretty happy with this little place. We had a small event here with about 25 people in the "upstairs." The food was all around good. Everything was perfectly cooked and had massive portions for family-style serving. A few minor complaints, they only had 2 high chairs, which became an issue with several small children (that we had discussed with them beforehand), and the event area upstairs is also where the bar is located, meaning the 25 of us were hanging out with like 3 random folks who decided to come up and sit at the bar... awkward. But other than that, very nice. We went fairly late and parking was free, It seemed like you'd have to pay during the day, but don't quote me on that.
(4)Cici C.
My boyfriend and I recently discovered this place and we love it! Fresh home made Italian food at its best! Very clean restaurant and friendly staff. Takeout is super convenient too!
(5)E H.
Petrillo's remains consistent, great food, friendly waitstaff and pricing. It is just like eating in one of the North End's better restaurants without the price and parking challenges. I love trying different dishes, but my favorite is still chicken, broccoli and ziti, love this place!
(5)Jen H.
Very authentic Italian cooking. Food is always impeccably prepared and presented. The portions are not overwhelmingly huge like most Italian places, but you never leave hungry. The atmosphere makes you think you've stepped into a "Godfather" movie. Lots of old-time Italians enjoying a good meal around a table with friends. Great place for a romantic dinner too! I highly recommend the Chicken Linda (Linda is the owner, this dish is wonderful) and the Chicken Portofino. For dessert, try any of their bombas (?). I got a peanut butter and fudge one that was absolutely to die for. I didn't realize they do delivery and take out. On my way out I grabbed a take out menu and am excited to be ordering them and enjoy the food in my own house. This is hands down my favorite italian place!
(5)Michelle P.
I LOVE Petrillo's. Keep in mind I was raised on Italian home cooking. I typically HATE being dragged to underwhelming, overhyped Italian restaurants. Not this place! Delicious, home cooking. Family owned. The restaurant itself can be a bit pricey, but it's definitely in line with other Italian establishments and well worth it. Portions are always large, and service is good. Like others have said, I always have leftovers for my lunch the next day. And it always tastes that much better! By far my favorite part of this restaurant is that you can get takeout for half the price. Feel free to call in your order, but I prefer to go there to decide and place my order. Then while you wait, the owner and her son chat you up and feed you. Now if that's not an authentic Italian restaurant, what is?! Mangia!

One of my clients, who is also something of an "amateur foodie" - as I like to think of myself - suggested my husband & I try Petrillo's in Peabody. Tonight, when craving Italian, we figured it may be a good time for something new. I have to preface this with the fact that I was raised by Italians. My grandmother's family was from Naples & my grandfather's from Abruzzi. Growing up, we NEVER ate out at Italian restaurants (BLASPHEMY!!) & my sister & I were both taught how to cook authentic Italian (despite our Swedish/Scottish/German/French DNA) so there's really no need to eat out. But my kitchen has been out of commission for approx 4 years & eating out is the norm.....for now. Since my grandmother's passing in 1991, it's been close to IMPOSSIBLE to satisfy my craving for Italian when dining out, so if I go to an Italian restaurant and *like* it.....they're doing *something* right. Petrillo's is DEFINITELY doing it right. It's a small restaurant & despite what others may have commented - get over it, plastic vines & grapes are part of Italian restaurant decor - I found it to be very tastefully decorated w/ a bit of the "old world restaurant" flair, yet still classy & contemporary. It was very "warm" - atmospherically speaking. The place was ALIVE with noise as they were packed & unfortunately, we couldn't get seated in the dining room but we were willing to wait for a table to open up. The "hostess" invited us to sit in their little take-out area to look over the menu until a table opened up. Everything on the menu sounded wonderful - and was spelled correctly in Italian!! - which is rare in most "Italian restaurants. But we also saw items on their take-out menu (not on their dining room menu) that we wanted. We decided to stay in the take-out area & order from that menu. The gentleman running the area - Mikey (?) - invited us to eat in there & he had a busboy come in and get us squared away. A woman came in & brought us what was fresh, soft baked Italian bread with rosemary infused olive oil for dipping & water. It may just as well have been the dining room! We each had a Caesar salad (perfect blend of lemon tang & creamy cheese) that was piled high with fresh shaved cheese & baked croutons & then the hubby had the Pasta Carbonara (with home made linguine) & I had the basic Spaghetti & Meatballs in tomato sauce (a.k.a. "gravy"). [Yeah, I know "boring"...but I was craving simple.] Both of our entrees were HUGE & the food delicious! My gravy was a bit on the "cheesy/tangy" side, which isn't my "favourite" thing, but that's my -*personal*- taste. It was prepared amazingly well! The other thing is - and this may sound weird - Italian food seems to always taste better a day after it was cooked. So I ate 1/2 & took home the other 1/2 & will have it tomorrow for lunch. Please don't take my "personal taste" as an overall review of the food because the food was EXCELLENT - I REALLY, *REALLY* liked it!! My husband said that his carbonara was PERFECT. Creamy & delicious. (He was NOT raised by Italians. ;^) - but he is picky about a good meal.) The food was prepared in a timely manner & we were never once made to feel rushed or as if we were being ignored. They were friendly & attentive to us. That's kind of a rarity these days. The fact that the people who took care of us really DID, in fact, take care of us & were so good to us, makes me love this place even more. I appreciate that kindness a great deal. I also enjoyed hearing the conversations going on, it brought back memories of hearing my grandparents' family members talking in the way old Italian families do - joking with one another, celebrating a marriage, greeting friends who'd come to dine.....it just showed such genuine love for what they do & appreciation for those who come to them for what they provide - and that is - a top notch meal. We're making a plan to go back some night so we may try their dining room menu - which looks to have some mouthwatering choices. Thanks, Petrillo's, you made this purple-haired weirdo a big happy fan. 8) P.S. NO TV's!!!!!! YAY!!!!!! WIN!!!!! QUICK UPDATE from the day after: Just finished my leftovers (which almost never happens in our house and I have to say: AMAZING. I savoured EVERY BITE. As I said, to me, Italian food always tastes better the next day - after all of those lovely seasonings have had time to settle in. 8) Thanks Petrillo's for 2 lovely dining experiences.

Came with a big group on a saturday night. Sat upstairs which was nice because we were loud and they seem to put the smaller parties downstairs to keep it more intimate. Place was clean and friendly. Eggplant appetizers were delicous. Wine and cocktails were decently priced. Service was attentive even for a big party. Everyone loved there entrees. Cant beat fresh home made italian. Deserts were very good as well.

This is seriously the best Italian food i've found north of Boston, and I can be picky. I've been to Petrillos more times than I can count, and what I love is it's family owned and operated, and they bring to the table what they would cook at home. The atmosphere is a little loud, but the staff is great, prices are very reasonable, and the food is amazing. Try the chicken caprese, by FAR it is my fav!

This was my first and last experience at this restaurant, which was chosen as the spot for my father's birthday. First problem - the attitude of the cook...yes cook, by far not a chef. When ordering our meals, my father (allergic to mushrooms) requested to have the mushrooms replaced on his veal saltimboca with onions or some other vegetable instead - the cook said "no because it will ruin the taste of the dish."...apparently, requests to make any modification to a dish, incluing food allergies are not permitted. Second Problem - All entrees served with potato & vegetable??? Huh? So if you want pasta with your saltimboca or marsala, expect to pay $2 extra to get basic grocery store box pasta. Third Problem - Overcooked chicken. I ordered chicken stuffed with proiciutto/spinach/cheese (or something like that). The chicken was hard as a rock, completely overcooked. I took 3 bites foolishly thinking it might be more tended towards the center - but was not the case. In an effort not to ruin my father's birthday, I gently pulled the waitress aside to tell her my meal was overcooked. I will say the waitress was extremely apologetic - but clearly she wouldn't be the person to rectify the problem. A second waitress came over to ask if I wanted something different, which at that point did not want to wait another 20 minutes so I declined. Turns out the "Assistant Manager" was that second waitress (not once did she identify herself as such, I just happened to bump into our regular waitress outside of the restroom who asked me if the "Assistant Manager" had come over). When I told her another waitress had come over, I was told "oh, that was the Assistant Manager".....methinks they need a new Assistant Manager. Fourth Problem - At the end of the meal the "Assistant Manager/Second Waitress" brought over a demitasse size cup of chocolate mousse "compliments of the house" to apparently fix for the lousy chicken dish. Had she thought, to gee...I dunno... ASK if I would like a desert on the house before just bringing some random 3-day old dessert, I would have informed her I didn't like mousse. If they intended on fixing the problem, why not ask what type of dessert you would like, compliments of the house??? Replacing one crappy meal with one crappy dessert is not a remedy. Fifth Problem - The check. Not only did they insult us with one crappy chocolate mousse to replace the overcooked, dry chicken - they charged us for that chicken dish plus $2 for requesting pasta with it. This is by far the worst italian restaurant I have been in. Not only do they have no clue about accomodating the guest - but they have no idea how to resolve problems should they arise. Other than our waitress (who was nice as pie, but obviously had no ability to make things right on her own) the whole experience was by far the worst dining experience. Lessons learned dining at Petrillo's - eat what they serve you, don't ask for substitutions and if your meal is not to your satisfaction don't complain and expect to pay for marginal italian food. Might as well go to Olive Garden...oh wait...Olive Garden at least is more accomodating and has better management.

Took my aunt and grandmother to Petrillo's yesterday for lunch. Gram and I had the cheese lasagna with a meatball special, while Auntie had spaghetti and meatballs. Auntie said the spaghetti was cooked perfectly al dente and the marinara sauce was smooth and delicious. My lasagna was excellent, too. The meatball was tasty as well. My only complaints are these: It was very dark inside the restaurant, which is nicely decorated, but the pendant lights do not hang over each table, so it was hard to see. Also, my meal was not piping hot when it arrived. It was certainly warm enough, but by the time I'd made my way through about half the lasagna, it was starting to get cold. Reasonable prices, good food, and there is a room upstairs for group parties.

We've eaten here several times because the food is always great with reasonable prices. One of the best experiences here, was when there were 13 in our dinner party! Everyone thoroughly enjoyed everthing from apps to dessert. The staff handled us without any problems, food arrived on time and hot. This is our "go to" Italian restaurant, because you are guaranteed exceptional quality, and I would recommend trying the specials. Buon appetit!
(5)Mike B.
I'd go 4 1/2 on this to be honest... 4 + 1 child went for dinner 3 and had one of the best meals I can account for in recent memory... I typically can be kinda tough when it comes to italian, but these guys are "on point" We had a 3 apps which included an Antipasto, toasted ravioli, and a bruschetta, all of which were delicious and abundant.... For entrees we had a kids pasta, chicken parm, salmon, gnocci, and chicken paesano, again they didn't sacrifice quality for quantity, no drinks or deserts this time, the total bill including tip was $125, cant be beat I cant wait to go back and try it again, stay tuned
(4)Lisa C.
This is easily my favorite Italian restaurant in the area (and I include the North End in that statement) The parking is easy...in a lot across the street. The food...classic Italian. I came here with a friend and we shared a few dishes We had the Frutti Di Mare - a mix of every type of sea dweller you can imagine. I believe it was shrimp, scallops, calamari, clams, mussels..ect..between linguine, tomatoes and garlic..this was UNBELIEVABLE!!!! Next was something with veal. I can't even remember because this was over 2 years ago, but I remember how nicely the veal was cooked. They even had broccoli rabe on the menu (YESSSSSSSSS!!!!!!) It was cooked perfect. Sauteed in garlic with olive oil and sprinkled with fresh Romano. It was heavenly. I felt like I was in the movie Goodfellas (we sat upstairs) There is another bar upstairs, and that night, there happened to be about 10 older Italian guys sitting at a rectangular table draped in a white cloth - breaking crusty Italian bread and sipping vino. Seriously - it just made the night perfect. And I was drunk off a not so cheap wine. If you're trying to impress a lady, bring her here. And make sure you roll your tongue when you order your meal. Sexy!! ha
(5)Lia M.
I cannot rate Petrillo's higher for a couple of reasons. I really want to, and it's not that the food was bad tasting, but a few things happened. First, the wrong dish was given to me. I ordered chicken broccoli ziti & got pasta primavera. It was OK, had a ton of veggies, but the sauce was very oily and the cheese overpowering. And I wanted chicken broccoli ziti. That was poor service. Secondly, some of the pasta was still hard. That was poor cooking. Also, no bread was given with the takeout. Would have paid a little bit more for some bread. The price was awesome: $6.99 for a dish that usually costs at least double that at other restaurants. And you will definately have left overs, the portions are huge. I will probably try this place again. Especially as the pineapple upside down cake martini is calling my name. I also want to try a sandwich.
(2)Dan L.
Was there after many attempts at making a reservation. Their front line people are not very efficient. Food and service were good, but have had this issue in the past and again last nite. If you ask to substitute anything on the menu there is a charge, which varies with what you substitute, and they don't mention it. Not very nice be surprised when you receive the check.
(3)Dave B.
I don't go out for Italian food often because as I said before no one makes it better than I do. That being said, I like Petrillos a lot. This is the type of restaurant you would find in the north end. Very authentic food. The chilean sea bass is what dreams are made of. Nicely decorated, small, crowded & a bit loud. You'll need reservations or be prepared to wait a long time. Prices fair especially compared to the quality. Service if fine, but not great. Best bet it to sit at the upstairs bar if possible. Parking is public & across the street. If you haven't been here put it on your list.

WORST restaurant and customer service that I have ever experienced!!! The owner is unbelievably rude and extremely unprofessional. We had booked a party of 20 and we were told that we would all be sitting together. When we got there there, we were not and the staff tried to rearrange the tables so we could be together as promised. The owner came running up the stairs screaming at her staff as well as us and told us that we had to leave because we asked to be seated together. She was so rude and embarrassed all of us. She kicked out a party of 20 for simply asking if we could sit together as promised. On the way out, her staff called all of us several demeaning words. I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone!!! I have never been treated so rudely by staff/owners before.
(1)Maura D.
I would give this place a solid 4 stars for the take-out. I love me some eggplant rollatini which comes with no lie a pound of pasta. I used to get this once a week back when I was getting take out dinners. Eating in is a bit of a scene, definately need ressies but often you still end up waiting up to a half hour, once we were even seated in the take out section with a drink while waiting for our table. The upstairs is just to loud with the bar. The food was ok.....weird they have a different menu for sit down versus take out......I like the take out better. Odd that the bread is bad...just plain old sliced italian.
