I was at this branch in North Dartmouth as a party of three. We signed in our name and waited in the lobby. After sitting there waiting for a table, another party of three came in and before they could sit, an employee, Sheila (who I found out was the manager), immediately set them up for a table. When we saw this and addressed it to her, she began to make an excuse that she thought we were waiting for the bathroom. (Three people waiting for a bathroom?). She then drifted into her name similarity to one of my friend as she led us to a prepared table. (Mind you, no one left recently so where did this empty table come from?) After assessing the situation, I chose to leave in order that no subsequent failures cause me to lose my temper. My friends who had bad experiences before went to speak with who we found out to be the manager and in front of two of her employees, the story now changed to the fact that she was in the back and thought we were waiting for takeout (Thought it was the bathroom?). I explained to her that the point of the list was so that anyone who comes to the front will have it as reference as to who's next. She said she didn't look at the list and went back to her assumptions. (If you didn't look at the list, how did you know the similarity between your name and my friend's?) She kept making excuses and I got frustrated and left. This is a disgusting representation of IHOP's franchise. Not only did she fail to treat us right, but she never took ownership of the mistake and move on from there. Had that been done, I would've been okay. I would NEVER recommend anyone to go to this IHOP.

I can't believe people actually willingly eat here. I had the great misfortune of bringing my grandmother here on a Sunday night for dinner, per her request. From the moment we walked in I had a feeling this wasn't going to be good just from the visit to the restroom, which was disgusting. When I sat at the table it was all sticky and so were the menus. I hadn't eaten anything yet and my hands already stunk like pancake syrup. Our waitress was really nice...even when I asked her for another coffee cup because mine was dirty. I ordered off the light and fit menu and got an egg beater omelet with spinach, mushrooms, and tomatoes with fruit on the side. I have to say the fruit wasn't half bad and was pretty sweet. The omelet was okay, nothing wonderful but it definitely needed more seasoning. And the tomato they used was barely ripe, whats up with that? Grandma liked her Belgian waffle and eggs, she didn't care for the bacon though, it was too mushy for her liking. I can't say that I will be running back here any time soon, and I will probably lure grandma to any other restaurant other than here.

Picture this. . . you wake up to a small white-washed room, headache pounding, hunger overwhelming. Having woken up several times in this situation (UmassD dorms after a long night of partying). . . the last thing on your mind is making food for yourself. And where is the best place to go to get breakfast at any time of the day?? That's right, the local IHOP! A quick hop and a step away from campus, this all-day breakfast restaurant chain is an oasis on the horizon. On most days, you are seated promptly with quick service. I have to admit, I usually never make it here before noon time for my 1st meal of the day, so'll you'll have to keep that in mind. The menu is full of scrumptious looking meals. I recommend the Breakfast Sampler. . . little bit of everything (eggs, bacon, sausage, hash browns, ham, and pancakes) with enough left over at the end to eat later on after your hangover nap. The table is equipped with 3 kinds of syrup: blueberry, strawberry, and 'old-fashioned', hot sauce, salt, pepper, ketchup, and sugar free syrup. What more could you ask for! Oh I know. . . waitresses that tell you personal stories about their days adventures. Such as my last one, who explained that the delay in service was due to her husband locking himself out of the house. She went on to state that he was far to fat to fit through the window and that she knew a way to break in but that she would never tell him! In any case, he got the house keys from her and all was well with the world. I was able to eat my breakfast, knowing her husband was safe and sound at last. Joy to the world.

This location seems to be my favorite of this chain. Service is usually friendly and fast. Food is served fast even for promotions like free pancake day or all you can eat pancakes.

Mediocre food. Mediocre service. The order was wrong had to wait for a new order to come out. Apparently that kept getting served to new customers as we waited and waited. Save yourself the trip.

If you want to wait 2 hours for a grilled cheese, you"ll love this place. The food is nasty and the fruits they serve looks nasty, never coming back

This location of the IHOP chain has everything youd expect, typical wait times and an excellent selection to choose so much so that it is a bit overwhelming. The food is quite up to par to what your average Culinary student expects only side is the front of house staff tends to congregate in groups slowing service.

I have to admit that I'm biased, I love IHOP and I wish there were more of them around. The one in Dartmouth is nice and roomy with plenty of space, not all squishy and cramped like some. To be honest all I ever eat at IHOP are the pancakes so I can't really comment on anything ese, but the pancakes here are superb. I love most of the different pancakes, but especially enjoy the whole grain and nut pancakes. They give you a huge stack loaded with blueberry topping and whipped cream. Not great for a diet but great for your appetite. The staff have always been pleasant and prompt even when the place was crowded. Simply a great place when you want to pig out on pancakes.
