Great falafel and shawarma. Fast and very fresh. All homemade. Not heavy on garlic, but other flavors shine thru.

Unfortunately, quality of the food served here has gone down tremendously. We are sad about not being able to rate this little restaurant 5 stars anymore. We gave it 2 tries (spaced 3 months apart). Both times, the food was bland. The garlic sauce which was to die for when we first visited was a barely palatable white goop. Both times we tried to find Sam to share with him our thoughts, but he wasn't there. Groan, Groan. Sam, Sam, you can come back. Come back with a vengeance and serve awesome food again, please!

I am Lebanese -- I grew up eating Lebanese food, have traveled to Lebanon and I worked as a cook in a Lebanese restaurant during college. I am now a health care professional who often travels to various hospitals around New England. I consistently try to take my colleagues out to Lebanese Restaurants when the opportunity arises. A few weeks ago, I was meeting with a fellow Lebanese doctor from a Rhode Island hospital and we wanted to try someplace new and local. I ordered the chicken shawarma wrap with fries and he ordered the Kafta skewer with rice. My Shawarma was drowning in a puddle of tahini and soggy bread and his kafta was bland, under seasoned and the rice was overcooked and dry. I hate to give one star to any businesses but this food just isn't as good as many people claim. The food is plain and under seasoned, the staff isn't exactly friendly (they act like you're inconveniencing them by being there) and the menu was way too big for a small kitchen like that to handle. In conclusion, this is more of a fast food style sub shop trying to sell boring meals at restaurant prices. I don't understand how this place gets the highest rating in North Andover. The only explanation I can come to is that the owner has a lot of friends...

The first time I ever went went to Sultan I was sold before I even received my food. The level of courtesy and respect I receive each and every time I eat here is unprecedented. I've never had anything I didn't like and I try to order something new every visit. Even though I don't eat here very often it is one of my local favorites. I have a pleasant experience every time. The only thing of note that some other customers might see as cons is the price:portion ratio and the time it takes to receive your food especially during the lunch rush. The price and time is expected especially when your food consists of such fresh, qulity ingredients. Consistency goes a long way for me in my dining experiences. Sultans is always consistent with it's fantastic customer service and the food is always great. No matter how many times I order the same thing it always tastes just as good as the last.

Went there for a quick dinner and we were greeted with friendly smiles and hellos from all the staff. The was plentiful and tasty. Very nice

In going to have to agree with another poster that the high regards about this place must come from friends of the owner or something. We were really left unimpressed. We got grape leaves, a chicken pita, and a sausage pita. The worst of the bunch was the sausages. I don't know how to describe them other than they were just plain bad. He chicken pita was very salty, and strangely came with pickles in it. Fries were quite overdone, though I know there are people who like then as such. Grape leaves were the best of the bunch, but that's not saying much. Happy we had $5 off through checkin. Sad we still spent $30 on our meal. Frankly, it wasn't worth it. Sam is a cool guy and seems like someone I would love to be friends with. He was giving the two young guys behind the counter the business for being slow (one of them dropped one of our pitas and had to make another - he gave home a piece of his mind). He is the kind of guy who would make a great neighbor, but not so much great cook. Sorry! :(

It was just ordinary, for the lack of better word. Nothing from the menu stood out for me and the things that we got, was also ok. I mean nothing that would want me to go back unless am in that area and just eat something brainlessly. Whatever we got was very dry. But, I might give this restaurant a second chance just to make sure, my choices werent good or it was a bad day.

I'm disappointed that I'm rating this business so low but potential customers need to know what you'll get. I ordered 2 entrees, a pie & dessert. One of my entrees was the Tenderloin kabob for $16.99 and it came with 6 small chunks of steak. The Fattoush salad was iceberg lettuce, pita chips & some chopped tomato. It was light on dressing & the rich flavors that usually come with a fattoush salad were missing. Unfortunately I'll never go back and that's a shame because I live in town.

I hardly ever go out of my way to leave a review on yelp, unless I have stumbled upon either a really good, or really really bad experience. I have gone to Sultan many times while working in the area in the last year, and every time the food has been amazing. So delicious. But that isn't what prompted me to leave this review. It's not every day you find service as consistently friendly and welcoming as you will here. I will continue to be a customer here, not just because the food is truly great, but also because the people are extremely genuine and kind and I leave wanting to support their business.

Sam's Sultan Mediterranean Cafe is the best kept secret in North Andover. It looks like a pizza joint but serves up some of the best mediterranean food I've had. This is a family-run business and it shows, with friendly personal service and attention to detail. Everything is fresh and tasty. My favorite thing is the lunch special falafel wrap with fries and soda for around 8 bucks. It is so big, I always take half home. The tahini sauce is to die for. And the fries, well...these are the real thing. Fresh cut and really worth the splurge. I have no complaints about Sultan except that my teen sons love it so much I have to always bring extra falafel home for them.

I have nothing but wonderful things to say about this delicious Lebanese joint. The chicken shawarma wrap is always on point every time I order it. The sauce and warm chicken strips just melts in your mouth. Craving it now as I write. Quick service and to the point kinda place nothing fancy just wonderful options.

This place doesn't even deserve this star maybe because there is no negative stars... I was in the mood for a falafel and this place int he only Med Grill close to work that has them. I ordered a falafel sandwich with Hummus. My co-worker ordered a chicken kabob salad. The order took 1 hour and 10 min with a 45 min time quote. Lunch rush no problem with that. There were 5 cubes of chicken that were burnt to a crisp and thrown over the salad. There was no dressing in the bag. Cant really screw lettuce and tomato's though...unless they are brown.Thank fully they were ok. A falafel in general is a light fluffy, moist fried ball of flavor and goodness. I have never had a bad falafel until now. The falafel wrap had pico de gallo (SO NOT MEDITERRANEAN) and this pink pickled veggie bleh!!! After removing the pickles and the pico what was left was nothing but the wrap! There almost no hummus that I asked for and the falafel was dry as a rock I could hear myself crunching!!!! I had to force myself to eat it...It was disgusting. I basically threw away $23.21 of my hard earned cash. NEVER AGAIN.

Had takeout. Got the kifta kebob and warm grape leaves. Decent portions and tasty food for a reasonable price. Restaurant looked small and informal.

Food: Mediterranean Staff: Friendly Atmosphere: Dive Parking: There is plenty of parking. Yelp is usually my friend when it comes to my traveling and provides good recommendations; however in this case the ranking wasn't quite right. I had the Chicken Shawarma Pita which comes fries. I'll start with the fries. The fries were over done and turn into those crispy outsides with the insides completely melted out so they ended up tasting more like potato chips. For the Chicken Shawarma, it says that it comes with a garlic spread, but I couldn't taste much garlic (I like enough garlic on my food so that my neighbors know I had garlic). Then it seemed like there was only 4 oz of chicken on the whole dish. It just wasn't enough. Overall the taste was okay, but I was still hungry when I left. For $10, I shouldn't be that hungry. Ordered Dish: - Chicken Shawarma Pita

Great little find in Andover. My wife loves Mediterranean food so this was perfect for lunch. The owner was very friendly letting us sample a few of his family recipes. I am not a beet fan but his roasted and mashed beets were outstanding. Fresh hummus and a wide range of falafels to chose from. At lunch he has a special that is pretty reasonable. There is very little seating inside so most are likely to take it to go.

I'm updating my review to reiterate how amazing the food and service here is! I recently placed a take-out order from here on the way home from the mall. When I got to Sultan I realized I had somehow left my wallet at the mall so I told the owner that I was really sorry, but to please hold onto my already-made order and if I found my wallet before close I'd be back. He said no problem and good luck. I ended up finding my wallet and getting back to Sultan right before closing. He told me if I had a few minutes he was going to remake my meal for me on the spot at no extra charge! He goes, "Your food is hours old. Nobody wants to eat that. I'll make your order fresh." Even though I would happily have eaten my lukewarm meal (Sultan is that good), I happily took a hot and fresh replacement. I was sure customer service like that simply didn't exist anymore, but I guess it's alive and well at Sultan!
(5)Lin C.
I love this place. Sam makes you feel like you are coming to his home while he is cooking you a recipe from his mom's kitchen. I think at this point my husband and I have had just about everything on the menu and we have NEVER been disappointed. Don't drive by- stop in, you will be glad you did!
(5)Md Q.
Excellent flavor. Good choices. Would like to be able to order a more a LA carte type dinner in the future. Some people just aren't knowledgeable about Mediterranean food. They might wanna be able to sample several different items. They offer a combo plate but it'd 23.00 an serves 2 people... Do a few more of those that serve one person and its perfect. Honestly I saw about 7 old Lebanese grandmas come in to pick up orders while I was here so you know the food was on point... Great experience! Owner was very nice
(4)Kristin K.
Oops...wrong place.
(4)Danielle C.
Fantastic. Four of us ordered four different menu items (as someone else mentioned, the menu is huge), everything was wonderful.
(5)Yuliya G.
Fresh delicious food, the best falafel pita! I'm not a fan of their fries, but they are homemade. A lot of people like them though. Salads are great, and all the meats are very tasty. The place is a bit pricy, but I usually go for lunch and get their lunch special. You get a sane inch, fries and a drink for around 7 bucks. I've been here many times and never had a bad experience.
(5)Tom R.
I've been driving by this place for years and finally stopped in. It is EXCELLENT. Great, fresh food, excellent service, and generous portions.
(5)Alyson C.
We ordered takeout for the first time the other night and were very impressed with the quality and flavor of the items we ordered. The falafel pita was delicious and tasted very fresh. The fresh cut french fries were good, although a little greasy. My husband ordered the beef shawarma dinner and it was also delicious. Our favorite item, however, is the hummus. It's very light and fresh, but packed with flavor. We'll never be able to eat store-bought hummus again! The staff is very friendly and clearly put their entire hearts into preparing the food and running the restaurant. The seating area is small, but the entire place is very clean and inviting. We've added this to our list of go-to places for dinner.

So like many before me I decided to visit this place while working just down the street for business. I don't live in Massachusetts, so the many comments suggesting regulars are the reason this place has such a high rating are only partially accurate. I walked in and was promptly greeted, by the gentleman/owner named Sam. As all those who've posted before me Sam is the genuine real deal! He's kind, courteous, friendly, and knowledgeable and desires to make you happy! I decided to dine in and ordered the chicken pita lunch special. The dine in space is limited, but clean and welcoming! Sam was quick at preparing the meal and genuinely takes pleasure it making it for you, and takes pride in it being healthy as well. Everything was amazing! Be warned the pita's are hot and stay that way for some time even after being unwrapped. I burnt my tongue only because I was trying to enjoy the savory taste of something new to me. I can't really explain it but to say you have to try it for yourself, if your disappointed I'll be very shocked because the food is very delicious, fresh, and healthy. The fries (not so healthy part) are also fresh and clearly not frozen and out of a bag but made locally. And while I'm not really a fry type of person, these are some of the best if not the best fries I've ever had. Easily beats any fast food fries including the infamous McDonald's fries or Chick-fil-A waffle fries. The pita seemed flour based and was great. My initial though was about getting two, while I'd have loved to on taste alone, I'm so glad I didn't as the portion sizing was perfect! Not to much leaving you feeling bloated and not to little leaving you feeling like you need more. Just right! Give this place a try you won't be disappointed!!!
(5)Melody N.
I have been here a couple of times as his place is within walking distance of where I work. Lots of lunch specials that include the item plus a drink and fries for roughly $7-$8 which for the amount is pretty good. I've had the falafels which I thought was good and had a nice crunch.. Another time I had a salad with their house dressing which is really lemony(which I LOVED) and it came with pita bread. They are very friendly inside. There aren't a lot of tables inside so it can be hard to find a table if you plan to eat in.
(4)Maggie C.
I went to this place on the strength of previous Yelp reviews and was suitably impressed-- my friend and I had the falafel and beef shawarma lunch specials (which were both in the $6 to $8 range) and very much enjoyed our food. My falafel included a really nice mixture of pickled vegetables, tabbouleh-style salad, and hummus, and I was impressed by the architecture of the wrap, which didn't fall apart or get overly soggy as I was eating. The french fries, which were part of their 11 AM-3 PM lunch deal, were perfect-- clearly made with real potatoes, they were piping hot and salty without being too salty. Finally, as other reviewers have mentioned, the owners were very nice and, while the space is nothing fancy, it is much cleaner than the vast majority of take-out oriented places. Although my favorite falafel sandwich is still 150 miles away (at Mamoun's in New Haven/NYC), I will most definitely be returning to Sultan's in the near future!
(4)Gregory P.
The girlfriend and I just ate here and we were NOT impressed. The chicken kabob pita's were horrible and we would never get these again (we didn't like the pita wrap itself, the taste of the chicken, or the sauce used). The french fries were some of the worst I've ever had - way too oily and overfried. The chips & hummus, however, were very good and saved this place from getting a 1-star rating from us. I suspect that many of the great reviews are people that know the owner (who was very friendly by the way, as people have said) Won't be coming back.
(2)Sarah S.
Excellent food, kind of a hassle to order on the phone. You give your order, then they ask for your name and phone number, then you have to repeat your order because they really don't take it the first time.
(4)Coral C.
Very dissapointed with food. grapleaves appetizer, tough grapeleaf with very mushy rice filling, too much lemon flavor masked taste. Small order of Hummus, missing that tahini taste? Expensive lunch at $ 16 plus. Very nice staff.
(2)Mark E.
Sultan Mediterranean Cafe is a small space with great flavors. I came in, on the recommendation of a friend and tried the hommus. Very good, light fluffy consistency with just the right blend of ingredients, herbs and spices. Sam, the owner was behind the counter explained to me in a kind and gentle voice, the care that goes into sourcing the ingredients for the hommus and for all his food offerings. I was rather impressed with his attention to detail and emphasis on quality vegetables and meats. I was also offered and accepted a sample tasting of "Mom's Original Bean Spread", a blend of red beans, beets, garlic, lemon juice and a drizzle of olive oil. Wonderfully delicious! Maybe next time this small space will be warm enough to remove my coat ... which will garner a fifth star.
(4)Elise L.
Delicious food that is fresh every time. I like their chicken kabob dinner or the chicken kabob rollup. The hummus is a must have every time you go! Everything is made to order so be patient with how long it will take to get the meal. Definitely a North Andover favorite for us!!
(5)Eric S.
My wife stopped by there one day for lunch and told me it was awesome. SO I stopped in to try it, and they have REALLY GREAT LUNCH DEALS, wrap, some fires, and a soda. When I got there I saw how fresh everything looked, and also picked up a side of Baba Ghanoosh to go, it was sooo good. The fresh cut fries were delicous, it just made my awesome Beef Shawarma that much better. Keep up the good work brother people seem to love this place.
(4)Kathy F.
By far the best spinach/feta pies in the area !! The meat pies are also tasty ... the crust is amazing!!!! I have to agree that it's a small place, but for take-out it's perfect. The grape leaves are to die for. If you're in this area for lunch or an early dinner, be sure to visit this place. It rocks.
(4)Randy W.
We have eaten at Sultan's several times and always loved it !! This weekend I hosted a bridal shower for my niece and decided to have Sultan's cater it. Every person that came could not say enough about how fabulous the food was. The owner is a very friendly, kind man a real pleasure to work with. We love this place and recommend it highly !!!!
(5)Christine B.
I love the food here, especially the Kibbee, the salads, the rice pilaf. All the food is fresh, and healthy, nothing from mixes, cans, it is all fresh which is a rarity in today's market. I wish they would open another restaurant closer to where I live but it is worth the drive to have the best bite. I have had Mediterranean food before but this is first class with the exotic spices and presentation. And it all is served with a smile. You can tell that these owners are proud of what they make and sell. Kudos!!
(5)Connor B.
I like this place. Gave it a try one night last week. I usually go to Salem Kebab for Mediterranean in this area and this is better. The menu is extensive, I tried the falafel and a chicken schwarma wrap. Still its not cheap and the portions could be bigger.
(4)L S.
This place is really quick and delicious! Friendly people working there too! I got takeout for the first time tonight and had a falafel pita wrap. It was honestly the best I have ever had.
(5)Jeff T.
This is a great little cafe. Delicious food and great lunch deals. Had the chicken schwarma pita wrap and fries which was super flavorful. Definitely stop by if youre in the area!
(5)Jeff D.
Sam is such a gracious host and his mothers recipes are both delicious and from the heart. Our kids love the hummus, grilled chicken and rice here. The falafel and shawarma are also favorites. We will be back! Wish there was one in Newburyport!
(5)Danielle T.
I took a wrong turn off of the highway and cave across Sultan's and I am so glad I did! The employees were so friendly and inviting. The Chicken Schwarma was FANTASTIC. The side salad and dressing was delicious. I got some pre made spinach and feta pies as well which we're just as good. If you like Mediterranean food this is a MUST stop!!!
(5)Alec W.
I've been coming here since it open. Great food and owner. The food is always fresh, homemade, and consistently prepared with craft and authentic recipes. I love all the different varieties of the menu and you can always try something new every time you go.
(5)Laura H.
Still love Sultan! I've been many times and the food is consistently good and the service is consistently awesome. I want to respond to Ken G., I had no contact with the ownership until I became a patron, nor do I have contact outside of Sultan. But great food and service will earn an establishment outstanding reviews.
(5)Veronica M.
Thanks to friends, I eat a lot of food from Morocco, Syria, Lebanon, Palestine, etc. - all over the diaspora. I love being able to go to Sultan's when I need a quick meal because it is good, reasonably quick, and fairly priced. My favorite is his Kafta roll up (with sauce), but I've not had a bad meal yet in three. Lunch specials are an excellent value. Sam is excellent. He's friendly and very quick to explain things. I'm always in there late in the day and his attention to detail and cleanliness is clear as he's explaining things to his young staff. My tip: if you're feeding two people, one of his "Dinners" plus an appetizer or extra salad would be plenty of food. For one, it is dinner that night and lunch the day after. Very reasonable for $12-14.
(5)Deener F.
This place is awesome! We got a bunch of different things including a schwarma and chicken hasweh plate and falafel. Big fan! My 93 year old grandma wanted to try this place after I had driven by it and I am so glad we did! Good service too, I can't wait to go back! Excellent tabouli salad as well and good prices!
(5)Jeffrey B.
Terrific Lebanese food served up by just the nicest guy, Sam. He's passionate about his food, that's for sure. He comes to the table himself to see if you like it, and chats with you. He's obviously a guy doing what he loves: making his favorite foods for the public. Prices are moderate - it's a good value. Get one of the combo plates: they come with hummous, pita and red onions, enough so you'll be taking it home. 2 combo plates will feed 3 BIG eaters with another meal left over. The french fries are fabulous, and I know my fries, my friend. Every time I go there, it's the same - 5 stars. Look, it's not Maxim's in Paris, but for what it is, 5 stars.
(5)Kenji G.
The roll ups sandwiches are really good the hummus is good the kabobs are as described in other reviews, dry small portion and not very good. The fresh cut fries are really good. This is a take out place with a small eat in area with maybe 8 tables. Most of these reviews are by friends of the ownership so take with a grain of salt. This is a good place for a sandwich its not even close to 5 stars though.
(3)Sarah B.
As someone who grew up on Lebanese food, spoiled rotten by the incredible cook my mom is.. I NEVER order Lebanese food when I'm out because I'm always disappointed... But this place was just superb. You might not expect it walking in, but there is such a great variety of very authentic Lebanese offerings, I am so glad this is down the street from my workplace. Falafel, shawarma, Tabouleh, homous, kebabs of all kinds... My coworkers and I each got different things and we all loved everything. And I had emailed there a few weeks prior about catering options and Sam (the owner I presume) remembered me from just my email! Now that is the Lebanese hospitality and friendliness I know. Such a sweet man, delicious food, love it, love it! Can't go wrong here!
(5)Lin M.
Mmm good. After 5 years driving by finally stopped in. I won't be driving to Shadi's anymore if their falafel is as good as their wraps. We'll have to find out soon.
(4)Lucy D.
Yes, 5 stars on our first visit to this cafe. My biggest problem, figuring how to park in the lot next to the building. Service was friendly, food was fresh and prices were reasonable. We will return when in the area.
(5)Joy K.
Yummy, Fresh, and Tasty! Wish I lived closer....however will be back when I visit my brother. Friendly owners as well.
(5)Michaella W.
By far my favorite place to eat! I had never had Mediterranean food before coming here as it had always intimidated me! Not anymore! Sam is wonderful and very hard working... If you want to know what something is just ask! The food is always delicious and very fresh! Chicken shawarma is my favorite!
(5)Sarah P.
The Sultan Cafe is awesome. I love the fattoush salad and my husband loves their fish sandwich. My two year old loves their hummus and fries. We are regulars here because of the consistently delicious food and friendly service. As others said, the owner Sam is very welcoming and will accommodate any request. We had our daughters second birthday catered by The Sultan and it was out of this world. All our guests were ranting and raving about how delicious everything was. They make the best hummus and falafel. I also love their grape leaves and chicken kabobs with rice. Everything is high quality with great flavors. I cannot recommend this place highly enough you must try it for yourself. You can't go wrong no matter what you order!
(5)John D.
This place is amazing. I was never a big fan of Mediterranean cuisine until I ate here. The owner really cares about each and every dish. If you don't like something or if something is wrong, he will fix it. I wish every owner cared about food as much as he does. You can't go wrong with the Shawarma (Chicken or Beef) Grape Leaves and Kafta. The Hommus is amazing.
(5)Esther S.
I would like to comment on Ken G.'s comment and say that I am NOT a friend of the owner - I happen to have gotten to know the owner because he is such a nice person and treats every customer like a friend...his food is fresh and there is something to be said for that in this world of fast food, overprocessed horrible food out there! Keep up the good work Sam!!! You work super hard and we appreciate your fresh food that is all homemade...you will not get better hummus anywhere!
(5)Lindsey B.
My fiancé and I recently moved to the area and were looking for an authentic Lebanese restaurant... We found it! Sultan's is not only delicious, but very well priced. We both ordered the Kafta rollup with everything on it, including their hot sauce, and we were not disappointed! The service was fast and the staff was very nice. Sam, the owner, came out and struck up a conversation with us which was
(5)Michelle C.
My son has been raving about Mediterranean food since he has been living in NYC. He is home for the summer and has been searching for true falafel and homemade hummus. So off to Sultan we went for dinner. What a wonderful place, you know right when you walk in - this is going to be good - clean, well lit, you see a smiling chef behind the food counter working and a polite young man at the register ready to help you. We tried the hummus, falafel, the chicken shwarma and two fabulous desserts - one a cookie and one a bar covered in sesame seeds - sorry I don't remember the name. The food was fresh and delicious - my son said as good or better than he has had in NYC. I thoroughly enjoyed my introduction to this middle eastern cuisine. We will be visiting again and trying more of the wonderful things on the menu.
(5)Heidi B.
Really excellent food. Very fresh made with care. Fresh ingredients. Authentic and a super friendly staff.
(4)H P.
Delicious chicken shwarma and french fries! Clean bright place to sit and enjoy your Lebanese food. The only prob was we ordered our food to go and they thought it belonged to the customer ahead of me with the same name but she was eating solo and the owner knows her and told her to let him know when she wants her to go order. The man that took our order didn't communicate that there were 2 people with the same name! That's actually a big problem most everywhere...communication break down ! I will order from here again but my name will be very unique...like spongebob or something .
(4)Patrick E.
I grew up in the Middle East and had lots of authentic, home-made food there. Sultan is by far the best I have had since being a kid. The hommus is zesty, with great texture. If you think store-bought is real hommus - you're in for a treat. Sultan's hommus makes store-bought seem like couch cushion stuffing. Their tabboule is also out of this world. Store-bought is generally mostly cheap bulgur wheat and tastes like lawn clippings; Sultan's is fresh, colorful, tastes amazing, and is healthier due to its lack of non-veggie filler. Baklavah was also outstanding. Obviously freshly home-made, and the owner told me while I was ordering they use all natural and organic ingredients. Lastly, the interior is incredibly - no, sparklingly - clean. No dust or dirt anywhere I looked (and I do look), it was bright and welcoming. Very highly recommended. As soon as I am back in the area I will be a glad repeat customer.
(5)Sara S.
Excellent food, reasonable prices and located within walking distance from my home. The owner was extremely friendly. I love having this place in my neighborhood!
(5)Erik J.
It looks like a sub shop, but this place rocks. The food is superb, and the owner super friendly. Everything tasty and fresh. Just wish they were faster serving.
(4)Yoli D.
50 minutes later... Take out from Sultan Mediterranean Cafe was a huge waste of money and time. I ordered take out from there based on the wonderful reviews on Yelp. They told me it would take 20 - 25 minutes for 2 orders of chicken skewer dinners and a appetizer of hummus. When I got there the guy that was cooking was wearing gloves while talking on the phone, but then took the gloves off to prepare food. The food was still not ready when I got there. The chicken was burnt and when the guy allowed me to taste it, it was actually dry as well. He offered to cook more chicken for me, less done and said that it would take only 10 minutes. The fries, I guess were supposed to be flash fried because he didn't drop them until I got there. He didn't take them out until 20 minutes later when the rest of my food was ready. I knew the fries were over cooked but I didn't want to wait any longer. He tried charging me 39 dollars for the 2 meals and hummus, but the website menu from which I ordered showed that the meals were 12.99 each and the hummus 4.99. He informed me that prices went up, which didn't matter much to me at that point because I wasn't paying anymore than I had originally anticipated, especially after wanting to walk out for the previous 20 minutes. He adjusted the price. I was hoping that I would get home and be wowed by the food and be forced to give them a good review, however.... The fries were burnt and the iceburg/romaine mix for the salad was all iceberg (which I don't like) and the chicken portion was very small for the money. The hummus was okay. I definitely won't go back and won't recommend this place to anyone!

Sam is awesome, really nice guy, makes awesome food. I have tried everything and have loved it all. Used to not like his hummus, it used to be really bland, had it recently seems to have changed something, it was awesome, although i can still say jim's kabob makes the best hummus on merrimack/sutton st. Ridiculously clean inside, food is good quality, organic used when he can get it, angus beef. Portions are a little small, and if you're looking to feed two for dinner it can get a little pricey, but it is worth it. Hopefully this place won't close like every other restaurant that has been in this location.

YUK. Steak was bad meat and when I complained I was told I must not like the lime juice they marinated it in ????!!! Do they think I'm stupid? They should have apologized and offered me something else. It was too expensive and I didn't want to eat it and get sick. I left poor and hungry. No second chances for this one.

I thought the food and service was very good. My wife is Arabic and we often have homemade middle eastern food, which by the way happens to be very healthy. She and I thought the food we ordered from here was very authentic. We will definitely be going back since this is right down the street from us.

Great neighborhood place with authentic food. Try mama's red bean spread! Great spinach pie. SAMs the man!!

I just ate here tonight and I can say that it was one of the greatest Mediterranean meals I have ever had. I spoke at length with Sam, the owner, who told me that he takes great lengths to maintain the highest quality of food -- for example he uses fresh potatoes for french fries and refuses to use nothing but the freshest produce. One thing I noticed that is the sign of a great owner: as we were finishing our meal, we realized that we didn't use the bread that was given to us -- it was still sealed and wrapped. So we told him to take it back, and he responded that he would throw it out, because even though it was still sealed he thought it was unethical to offer it to another customer. To me, that exemplified what this place stood for -- delicious food made with care and at the highest quality standards by a dedicated owner. Please check it out this wonderful place -- I will be back soon!

I learned of this cafe from the ladies at my chiropractor's office. I was leaving one day and they had take out from Sultan's and it smelled absolutely wonderful! A visit to Sultan's was on my mind ever since. I hapened to be in the area last week around lunch time and called in an order for the Chicken Shawarma wrap (around $5.99 plus tax). They quoted me 15 minutes and I arrived in that amount of time pleased to find my wrap was ready. Everyone behind the counter was friendly, evident by their big smiles and welcoming nods to acknowledge my presence. I took my wrap to go and couldn't wait to unwrap it in the car. This was my first ever shawarma. The chicken was tasty and cooked to perfection. It was a very easy wrap to eat while driving as the filling didn't fall out or drip. Best of all, it came with a side of hand cut fries (oh, I forgot to mention that fries were also in the wrap). My kinda lunch! Sultan has a new fan and customer!

While this place has lovely Lebanese food, and the owner Sam couldn't be nicer, the reason to go to this cafe is the hand cut french fries. oh my god, FRY heaven.

I can't add much to all the other reviews except to say I agree. The wraps are delicious. They are thin - not like a burrito - and crispy where they were on the griddle.

We live in North Andover and been meaning to try this place. The fund raiser for St. Micheal's school was the perfect reason to. It was delicious! My husband and I are spoiled since we worked in NYC and there was this great Mediterranean lunch place next to our office. I had lunch there almost every day. I have not been able to find a match for this place yet till I went here. Very authentic, home made and tasty. The place is small and has a few tables for eat in and there was a lot of take out while we were there. The staff was very nice and helpful. And it was nice on the wallet too! We will definitely be back.

Great customer service, the big guy that runs the place is friendly and courteous. The food isn't bad, but I've certainly had better. The accompaniments (pickled beets, dill, the white sauce (tahini?)) with the appetizers were a little too sour for us. The falafel was crispy on the outside but not as crunchy as I'd want it to be on the inside. Portions are smaller than the competition. For a quick meal or take-out, I'd still go to Mounir's in Lawrence. Definitely try the place though, maybe you'll like it more than my friend and I did.

I love this place! They have great chicken schwarma wraps. My Lebanese in laws even approved and really enjoyed the food. The french fries are also really good and can be dangerous. The owner is friendly as well. Only complaint is that they are not open on sundays and close kinda early on the nights but I understand since it is family run.

I have gotten take out here about 5 times now and have to say that the food is very good and pretty authentic. The chicken shwarma is to die for! Steak wraps are all cooked to order and very good, fries are very good! We tried the spinach pie which was amazing. The falafel was ok, probably best in the area, but I am still looking for a place that can make it with fresh parsley. The past couple times we ordered they seemed to skimp on the food so hopefully that isn't a new trend there. Overall I would highly reccomend!

Great spot! Food is super fresh and all homemade. Plus the owner is very friendly and willing to customize your order. I would recommend this place to anyone for lunch or dinner.

What a great find! Come here to find fresh and authentic Lebanese food! I stopped by for the first time last week and the owner was very welcoming and seemed very grateful of my business. He gave me a free sample of his homemade pita chips and hummus and told me that all his produce comes from the United States, from as local a source as possible. I could definitely taste the difference. I ordered a falafel wrap and it was delicious...the fries were also unbelievable! I will definitely be returning in the near future. I will be recommending this place to all my friends!

The food is very good and the owner makes you feel like family. I have had a few of the menu staples, but for me the homemade Hummus is the star ( the owners mom has a red bean dip that is also deliciious). Unlike any Hummus I have ever had, a bowl with pitas is a great snack. The chicken, falafel and beef roll-ups are delicious as well. I cant say enough good things about this place. Can't wait to go back.

I agree with the favorable reviews below. Food is excellent. Sam goes to great lengths to please his customers. It took a while to get our order only minus. The place has been highly recommended to us by loyal customers. I would recommend it to you.

Great food, prepared to order with fresh ingredients. What's wrong with that? Absolutely nothing! If you are in a rush, then you may need to look elsewhere, but if you have a little bit of time then it is worth the wait. And you can have a great conversation with the owner while you are there, all the while enjoying some great pita chips and hummus.
