I will start my review with the positives.I love the ambiance and what they have done with the place. We walked into live music and our menus came with a list of weekly entertainment. I love that they are trying to reach out to the MCLA crowd with dance options and food and drink specials. It is really nice to see a bistro where people can come together for a drink and music.Aside from that, our drinks were good and our waitress was really attentive and nice. I wish I could say I loved the food, but everything about it was mediocre at best. The first thing we were served was a bread basket, and inside of the bread basket were rolls that you could find at any local grocer's frozen food aisle. An Italian restaurant without homemade bread just doesn't seem right. We ordered bruschetta for the table and it came on the same hard rolls that were served in the bread basket. I couldn't understand why a restaurant offers flatbread wouldn't put the bruschetta on that. For dinner I ordered the Chicken Gorgonzola which with some extra salt and parmesan cheese was good, but alone had no flavoring. The people that I was dining with were less than impressed with their meals as well. One got Alfredo which came out with a splash of alfredo. They received more sauce that was bland and needed extra salt and parmasean cheese as well. This was especially disappointing because the waitress raved about the alfredo sauce. I don't want anyone reading this to think that I love salt, I don't. The food was just very bland. Another person ordered Pork Shank Osso Bucco that they must have taken the salt out of everyone else's meals and placed it in this dish. I really hate to give local business a bad review because I am so happy that businesses are opening up in the area and I love supporting the local economy. But, for the price of the meals and for an Italian restaurant in a city that Italians once dominated I had hoped for much better than we had received.
