I read on boston.cityvoter.com that Treat was voted the #1 cupcakery in the area. We decided to visit their Needham store after brunch this past Father's Day since it was on the way home. I got there late Sunday afternoon. The previous customers were leaving as I arrived and the store was empty. There were a few cupcakes left in each of the flavors available. The cupcakes here are huge! I decided to get six to bring home. The gentleman behind the counter was not very friendly, no hello, no smile. He had a bit of a scream fest with the girl working in their desert location next door while I was there. Despite the lackluster experience at the store, we enjoyed their cupcakes. My 9 y/o loved the Oreo one. I think it's spoiled her for any other cookies & cream cupcake from any other cupcakery :) It really tastes like an Oreo! I got one of their special cupcakes ($5), the S'Mores one. It was great! The others were great as well. The only minor complaint was that the frosting on the red velvet was a tad sweet. This might be because we had just had one from Georgetown Cupcake and their red velvet was a perfect balance for us. We really enjoyed these cupcakes. Unfortunately Needham is a bit out of the way for us. Thank goodness there is one in Chestnut Hill. We'll definitely visit that one the next time we're out shopping.

It's been three years since my last visit to Treat. I'm happy to report that the cupcakes are still amazing. We got the vanilla birthday cake confetti cupcakes with buttercream frosting and rainbow sprinkles. The cupcakes were unbelievably moist. The flavor was excellent; not cloyingly sweet with a subtle welcome note of salt in the buttercream. When I think of great cupcakes that are truly "worth it," Treat Cupcake Bar is the first place that comes to mind.

Mr.G surprised me with Vegan birthday cupcakes. What a treat. He got one of every flavor for me and another box for the kids. The favs were the Vegan Pumpkin and regular Red Velvet. Although the lemon and triple choc were right up there. They are denser than I thought they'd be but over all a wonderful treat. The flavors, frosting and decorations on top were fun. Just made my day special. The frosting was perfect. Smooth light and no too sweet. However the black penguin although so cute doesn't taste as good since the color is so dark. As the sticker on the box labels these sweets are best eaten within 24 hrs. Each day that passes the cake, like others, gets dry. These don't need to be stored in the frig. Now I'll need to stop by in person and check it out.

We ordered an oreo cupcake and a peanut butter cupcake. Both were delicious. We went there 20 minutes or so before closing. Only a few cupcakes left. I've bought cupcakes from other places at the very end of the the day only to regret it later. The cupcakes are usually dry and been sitting out all day. These were moist and had great flavor. My oreo cupcake was a chocoloate cupcake with thin layer of chocolate frosting and oreo buttercream. Normally I hate butterbream but this was a true exception. As for the peanut butter cupcake, All i could get out of my boyfriend was "really good" as he ate it in three bites. So i'll give it a thumbs up as well!

A cute shop with a wide variety of cakes, cupcake-inspired beverages, and a make-your-own cupcake bar offering many toppings to mix with your frosting choice on a chocolate, vanilla or swirl cake. Tried the Blueberry Pancake with Maple Walnut frosting, the Lemon Drop, and a make-your-own Chocolate with light chocolate frosting mixed with chocolate jimmies, Oreo crumbles, and Reese's Pieces. Sad to say all three in our party felt the cupcakes were very dry, with the Blueberry Pancake being the tasty exception, its flavors enough to impress over the only-adequate moisture and denser texture. The frostings were creamy and good on all counts. Service and atmosphere were friendly. But in the end, it is too high a price in both cost and calories to end up with such a disappointingly dry cake. We went here as a destination for a birthday treat, based on Yelp reviews and our own resources. Would not make the trip again.

Treat is basically like the Pinkberry of cupcakes -- you start with either vanilla or chocolate cupcake, add your frosting, then add your toppings. It's a fun idea that's worth trying. It's not cheap, and you can only choose two types of cupcakes if you want to add your own toppings. However, the pre-made cupcakes (like carrot cake, red velvet, etc.) are slightly less expensive and taste great. In fact, I like them better than the "make your own" -- they had more flavor and tasted fresher. Basically, give Treat a try, just for the experience (and the fun store atmosphere). But if you're looking for a permanent cupcake fix, you're better off at a regular bakery.

We used Treat to cater our wedding cupcakes and they were magnificent. We worked with Sarah who was incredibly helpful and pleasant - couldn't have asked for better customer service! All of our guests raved about the cupcakes and there was none left at the end of the night! The only reason I'm giving them 4 stars instead of 5 is because they arent my FAVORITE type of cupcake - more of a dense cake than light and fluffy - but that being said, they are VERY good. Would definitely recommend them for couples looking to have cupcakes at their wedding.

Treat is a great place to pick up cupcakes. The staff is friendly and the flavors are great. The carrot cake and the sprinkle me silly are delicious. We go about once a month and love it. We are thrilled to have them in our hometown! They also offer vegan and gluten free versions as well for those with allergies.

Cupcakes are not healthy, but they are delicious, and those at Treats Cupcake Bar are very delicious indeed! Firstly, this place is very cute... actually, it's damn adorable. The staff are so friendly and welcoming, too. The selection is great, and there are even gluten-free cupcakes in a small display next to the main display case. One of the fun features of this place is the create-your-own station where you can choose your cake, frosting, toppings, etc. - basically like Coldstone, but with cupcakes! I've yet to try it, but I've seen it being done while there and it looks like such fun, especially for kids. The cupcake I got (white chocolate cake with white chocolate chips, white chocolate frosting, and white snowflake sprinkles) was great. The funny thing is, the cupcakes are big but not ottoman-sized, but I like that because you don't feel like you're doing your body *too* much harm! The cupcake itself was just sweet enough, not too much and not too little. The frosting was so incredibly delicious, tasting of pure white chocolate without, again, being too sweet. A nice little perk is their packaging. They use Chinese food take-out boxes and have very trendy-looking bags to carry multiple cupcake boxes in. A bit wasteful, but very nice! The location of Treats is very central - right in the heart of Needham Center. No private lot, so get ready to pay for a meter.

Great cupcakes My son has nut and egg allergies. Treat Cupcake Bar has many cupcakes which he can eat. They were pretty tasty as well. They have been able to consistently fill many custom orders without any issues with proper notice.

I wanted to give it two stars, but felt that might not be fair after a one-cupcake experience. Cake is probably my favourite food, so I'll try a cupcake or slice of cake just about anywhere. I use a chocolate cake with vanilla frosting as a benchmark, as most places make it, it's fairly basic, and it's my favourite. I purchased a pre-made cupcake here; the "bar" doesn't really appeal to me. The cupcake was only okay. I was expecting so much more. Pros: - Shop is really cute and friendly. - Staff was also friendly! - Cupcakes are nice looking - Frosting was okay. Cons: - Frosting was okay, but not great. Very light and creamy, which was nice, but lacked flavour. - Not nearly enough frosting to balance the cake, let alone satisfy a frosting lover. - Cake had a pretty good texture, but was slightly bitter. I say this as a person who eats dark chocolate plain. I didn't eat most of the cake. In all, I found the cupcake to be lackluster, and couldn't even eat all of the cake because of its slight bitter tone and the lack of frosting. I might try again for a different flavour, but I'm not counting this among good cupcakeries I know of.

We had occasion a few weeks back to purchase a dozen for a dinner party with children invited. Everyone dug into their cupckes, adults too, only to find them all dry and stale. I went last week and spoke to Aiden, who explained there had been a change in vendor for an essential ingredient and that it created subpar cakes. I am happy to report that the latest cupcakes I received at no charge were excellent and back to as we remember. Going back for more in a few days. Thank you Aiden!

When pulling into the "Fugi" hibachi place next door, I had all anticipation of getting some desert there, maybe getting a pint of ben and jerries at home when we watched a movie after. However, we walked by treat, and I knew there was no other place. Granted we went at 8pm, the cupcake was big, delicious, and you can put any topping on it you want! i got chocolate on chocolate with sour patch kids, brownies, oreos, heath bar. My only suggestion would be to put a little more frosting on the cupcake, and maybe to offer a cream cheese frosting. Otherwise, the store was really presentable, had a fun theme and atmosphere, and if I were 9 I would love a bday party here! Well, I would now, but I don't think many of my friends would join!

Treat has a fantastic selection of cupcakes and well as a fun concept. You can be a little kid again and pick out wacky toppings for your cupcake if you decide to make your own cupcake. Plus they have gluten free cupcakes!! They have a wide selection of pre-made cupcakes. I have purchased them for a birthday at work and all 6 flavors, including Lemon Drop, Need Creme Pie and Plain Jane, went over well. I think that the birthday girl enjoyed the triple chocolate the best. Since I eat the gluten free ones I'll focus there. I have purchased their pre-made gfree cupcakes as well as made one at the treat bar. Premade cupcakes are gluten and dairy free and I think that they pull that off really well. The chocolate cupcake with the cookies and cream frosting is really good. They even called me back when I left a msg with questions about the cookie they use. So helpful. The gfree cupcake has the same texture that would expect of a regualr cupcake. I could tell a slight difference in taste and texture in the vegan frosting, however nothing off putting for someone who does not need to have a vegan frosting. Trea

I've always loved Treat cucakes, so much so that they did my wedding cake for a late October wedding! It was four tiers of beauty and deliciousness. I asked for a more rustic look with textured white buttercream. It was truly beautiful, but even more important was the taste- it was a dark chocolate that was so good. Multiple people told me that it was the best wedding cake they had tasted. They also did cake pops for our favors which were so beautiful- I caught the grooms aunt trying to steal extras :) I will update with a picture at somepoint! And they were great to work with- they worked well with my caterer and wedding planner to make sure it was there, set up, and looking good.

I really had high hopes for Treat and drove about a half hour just for cupcakes. I was so disappointed. I bought two chocolate cupcakes both with buttercream frosting. First off, instead of the cake being light and fluffy, it was dense and tasted kind of stale. Secondly, there was not enough frosting on them. The frosting tasted pretty good and ended up being the only thing I finished, but why would you have such a large cupcake with such little frosting? I don't think I'll be going back.

I am upping my review to five stars because I went here yesterday and fell in love with the place all over again. I may have been swayed by the large samples of their new summer flavors (haven't seen samples out before), but the cupcakes I bought were also delicious! I like that you can get a mix of cupcakes with more traditional frosting and others use a delicious ganache. I feel like you can get quite the variety. The cupcakes were moist not a dry ounce in sight. I also like that they have late Sunday hours. So many bakeries/cupcakeries are not open on Sundays or close early. This is a great place to go seven days a week.

I had high hopes for Treat Cupcake Bar. I mean, the concept was cute and the overall packaging/presentation was adorable, but sadly the product itself left something to be desired :( Yes, the pre-made cupcakes ensconced in the bakery case were decorated very nicely, but we bypassed those in favor of the "make your own" cupcake bar. True, the cake itself was moist and a good size, but I definitely was not a fan of the the frosting. It just didn't have the right taste (chocolate buttercream wasn't chocolate-y enough and cream cheese frosting was excessively sweet) nor consistency (too soft and tasted oily like Crisco). But the worst part was the whole mix-in process. I was totally grossed out by how they just plop a scoop of the frosting on the counter and then slap your chosen toppings in. I guess it's the same reason why I'm not a fan of Cold Stone creamery. They didn't even wipe down the counter after scraping my frosting off....I mean, I guess there aren't any raw ingredients in there, but the idea of bacteria totally wigs me out. I do get it though; I'm not their target audience. Treat Cupcake Bar would be OMG.AWESOME for a child's birthday party. Who wouldn't want to decorate their very own over-sized cupcake with unlimited toppings? It just doesn't appeal to the adult in me. I felt awkward sitting at the kid-sized table, slathering an unappetizing mash of frosting on my cupcake. The wet naps at every table were a thoughtful gesture, but napkins were nowhere to be found. Frankly, there are other bakeries in the Boston area that serve my sweet tooth better. Sorry, Treat.

This might be a good place for little girls to have a do-it-yourself cupcake party, but if you're looking for a good cupcake, skip it. Heavy, dense, bland cake, heavy and bland frosting. For close to eight bucks for 2 cupcakes, this is not good.

Great cupcakes!!!! I am very happy to have found Treat. With my friends, we tried the lemon, Oreo, peanut butter, carrrot and confetti cupcakes... The confetti one was a little bland but all of them were very moist. The others had excellent flavors!!! I look forward to going back to try the rest of the menu! Highly recommend!!!!

When I think of cupcakes, I usually think of warm and fluffy, not cold and heartless. Well, unfortunately I encountered the latter at Treat...not in the cupcake itself, but in the careless "help" of a teenage employee. The make-your-own cupcake turned out to be merely a plain cupcake with a tiny smidgen of frosting and an assortment of toppings I had chosen. As soon as I walked into the "bakery" the girl started asking what cupcake I wanted and what toppings. I told her I needed a minute to think it over with my boyfriend. Instead, she continued to accost me with questions about what kind I wanted. I again asked for time to decide. When she wouldn't give us a chance to think, my boyfriend became annoyed and pretty much ordered out of frustration. It's actually funny that she managed to get an order out of us through annoyance rather than through patience and good service. Though the website clearly shows an option to either have your toppings mixed together in the frosting and then applied to your cupcake, the girl at the counter did not even ask what I wanted. Instead she threw a container of frosting and a container of toppings into a box and actually dented the cupcake. To be honest, the cupcake wasn't half bad, but for about $4.50, I could have made a dozen cupcakes and had plenty of toppings to spare. Remember fellow Yelpers, you are a beautiful cupcake in a world full of bran muffins. Xoxo, Gossip Yelper

I'm in one of those moods where I could go on a rant here, but I'm going to keep it simple. I was debating ordering several dozen for a party so my husband picked up 4 on his way home for us to try. The flavors were assorted, choc & vanilla, some had a filling, assorted frosting. They were all bland and dry although the choc was a tad better than the vanilla cupcake. They were pretty and quite large, but underwhelming in taste and freshness. For $4+ per cup cake, I'll bake my own.

Disclaimer: I like savory more than sweets. I came here after lunch for coffee and cupcakes with some friends. They both ordered from the specialty cupcakes, but I wanted a made-to-order. You can choose between a vanilla (golden), chocolate, marbled, or gluten free base, then make your own special frosting. Cream cheese frosting with chocolate covered pretzel bits and toasted coconut on a vanilla cupcake. Perfect. Even better? They put the hand-mixed frosting in a little cup so you can control how much frosting you have per bite of cupcake... YOU get to control your cake to frosting ratio. I should warn you that if you like a LOT of frosting per bite of cupcake, it might not be enough for you. Plenty of tables and space. Lots of available parking on the street and lots nearby. It's even really close to the yarn store (bonus for a knitter like me)!

  • Becka D.

Choose-your-own-adventure cupcakes! Such a totally adorable idea, and the bonus is that they do gluten-free! Think of this place as cupcakes meet Coldstone. You pick your cake flavor (only one gluten-free/vegan choice), pick your frosting & then frosting add-ins. They mix up your sugar creation & then you get to nosh away on your treat! They don't frost the cupcake for you, but I prefer it that way, because then you can get frost on every bite!

We all love to build our own creative treats: sundaes, milkshakes, flurries etc. but have you ever had the opportunity to Build Your Own Cupcakes? At Treat Cupcake Bar you can do exactly that: You have your choice of buying one of their delicious pre-made cupcakes. Or get a little inventive and make your own confectionery delight. Since it was my birthday and we were in a hurry to smuggle our treats home, we got two cupcakes to go. These monsters were huge, moist, and the buttercream was out of a dream. Highly recommended and probably the best cupcake experience I've had in Boston. We tackled the Peanut Butter Explosion cupcake and the Oreo cupcake. Wow. Both were excellent, but the Peanut Butter one kept me coming back for more and more. It was delicious enough to make me believe that the cupcake trend had just started. It's too bad Treat is late in the game, but they're more than welcome to rock the cupcake scene and take it by storm

Definately had to eat my words after my first review on Treat returned within a week of posting the last review. I big dive off a cliff it was me and some friends so we each ordered something different out of all 4 only one was moist the others dry and old tasting, crumbling the minute we cut into them. Hope that was just a fluke cause it was one of my favorite place especillay in contrast flavors. Btw it was the mint chocolate cupcake that was moist and delicious! Treat please look into some of these complaints, I really like this place.

We picked up cupcakes from Treat to celebrate my boyfriends birthday. Cupcakes were delicious, and they had gluten free! Such a nice surprise!

Very good cupcakes! We visited with friends while in town and we all enjoyed the treat. They even had a gluten-free treat for my son. Definitely worth stopping in if you are in the area. Place is spotless and the help is very nice. Good choice!

We went there today (12/29) and was very disappointment. The cupcakes were very stale and tasted really bad. We drove about an hour after reading good reviews. Also, the person at the register was not friendly and had a bad attitude. I would NEVER recommend this place to anyone!

  • Dina B.

A friend brought me home a chocolate cupcake with a huge dollop of mint oreo frosting on the top. I don't care if the rest of what they sell stinks, this cupcake was pure heaven. The cake part was more moist and tasty than anything I've ever had. Pricey for a cupcake but not compared to a slice of cake you'd get for dessert at a restaurant. Worth every freaking penny!!

  • Sam K.

People are buzzing about this place and I can understand why! I decided to take the chance of placing a large order for my daughters birthday party without sampling one first - I wasn't disappointed! I went with the basic vanilla and chocolate decorated as Elmo and Abby! The decorator did a fantastic job!! The frosting was out-of-this world!! Usually I scrape the frosting off and just eat the cake, but the texture was light, creamy and not too sweet! The vanilla was good (not as good as party favors) and the chocolate was the best i've had for a cupcake!!! The perfect chocolaty taste with the right texture (on the denser side). I can't wait to go back and try all the flavor combinations! You can get REALLY creative here!! Also, they have special cupcake boxes when you take them to go so they don't slide around in the box!!

  • Courtney H.

If I were rating based solely on presentation then this place is 5 stars all the way. I bought a half dozen cupcakes... triple choc, lemon drop, vegan mint, needham creme pie, and oreo. First, I'd like to say their vegan cupcake was a disaster. I have no idea what they used in the frosting or cake, but it had a disgusting plastic-y aftertaste. As for the rest of the cupcakes, the cake itself was good with a surprise filling in each (although the fillings lacked a bit of taste), but the frosting is terrible! and there is way too much of it! It was like colored lard. IDK about you, but I'd take taste over appearance any day.

  • Albie D.

I love Treat. I am convinced they have the best cupcakes in the Boston area. I've never tried the make your own cupcake, and always have ordered the pre-made ones. I have enjoyed every flavor. The red velvet is delicious, nice and moist with a nice rich red color. I've also tried the pink lemonade (fun!), but my all time go-to is the Funfetti with vanilla frosting. The cupcake to frosting ratio is well-done, and the flavors are fresh and creative. The cupcakes are consistently moist on all of my visits. Yes, they are pricey, but you get a hefty cupcake which is good to share.

Cupcakes were delicious! I called for delivery at the last minute. They were very friendly and delivered within two hours! Everyone raved at the deliciousness and the variety of flavors for all tastes was amazing. Great place!

my 5 stars solely goes to Treat's red velvet cupcake! I'm not a huge fan of red velvet, especially the frosting but Treat's is amazing. My husband loves red velvet and hands down this is his favorite red velvet spot. The cream cheese frosting is not over the top sweet and instead of it being thick and creamy it's very fluffy and light with a nice cream cheese taste. Will def. go again for red velvet.

I realize cupcakes are a truly subjective matter, but for me, Treat's cupcakes are as good as cupcakes get. I'm surprised that it doesn't have a higher rating here on Yelp because everyone I know who has a cupcake from Treat loves it. Since cupcake bars seem to be popping up everywhere these days, I've been able to sample the offerings of quite a few establishments in Boston, NYC (Crumbs, but not Magnolia--yet), and Washington D.C., and I still like Treat the best because the flavors are simple, not overly sweet (they're still sweet though because, let's face it, this is a dessert item, folks!) and the frosting tastes like real ingredients, rather than some strange, artificial concoction. I think it's important to note that REAL food with REAL ingredients doesn't come out exactly the same each time! We're all so used to buying the stuff on supermarket shelves that we don't remember that the kinds of cupcakes your relatives always made had variation in texture from time to time. I don't know about you, but I don't want assembly-line cupcakes and can handle it when my favorite Red Velvet cupcake seems slightly more dry/moist/whatever as long as overall it tastes good. Treat may want to refresh their stock in the case more often during the day, but I really think their ingredients, their freshness and the taste is pretty outstanding.

I have mixed feelings about this place. I really want to like them. They make all of their cupcakes in advance and freeze them (I asked). They state this has no bearing on flavor or texture and although the cakes don't taste crumbly, I still have to believe they would taste better if they were baked fresh. The pre-made treats have a rotating list of cupcakes, with some standards that are always available. They are all gorgeous to look at. The Needham Cream Pie is especially tasty, as are their red velvet treats. I bought my first make-your-own cupcakes for Valentine's Day. You pick a cake flavor, a frosting flavor and as many treats/mix-in's as you want. The biggest disappointment is the visual - they mix in the toppings into the frosting (like at Creamstone Creamery) and then put on top of the cupcake. It's not piped on, nor is it artfully iced - just kind of slapped on there. And since the toppings (like red candy hearts) are just mixed into white icing, the end result is blah--- you can't see the toppings. Kids won't care and they'll love it, but paying this much for a cupcake, it should at least be appetizing to look at, especially since the pre-made treats are so beautiful. Treat should consider how to fix this - maybe pipe the icing on, or sprinkle the toppings on top as opposed to doing mix-ins. Some simple changes would go a long way. The décor is bright, hip and fun, but it also feels sparse and the layout of the counters/display cases/register is odd and has an awkward flow even when there are just 1-2 people in line. Treat, you could make just a few simple changes and be so much better!

I really wanted to like this place. It had a great atmosphere and a large assortment of cupcakes, but they were just not good. My husband and I tried two different kinds the Needham Cream Pie and the Peanut Butter Overload and they were just tasteless. The Needham cream pie was way too heavy and the peanut butter one had no taste of peanut butter or anything else to it for that matter. Also, as some other reviewers pointed out, the people who work there have absolutely no interest in their jobs. We were not greeted, given any information about the cupcakes and even after we made our purchase there was not even a thank you. We will not be back.

Where to begin? My partner and I had made the sacrifice for our guests by sampling cupcakes near and far so we could order for our upcoming wedding. Treat took the "cupcake" by having moist, delicious & beautiful cupcakes (we always sampled the red velvet everywhere as it seems folks have a tendency to mess that one up by making it dry). Treat understood our vision for our beach themed wedding and brought it to reality with cupcakes topped with "sea glass" (rock candy the color of sea glass) and "sand" (Graham cracker crumbs). Not only did the cupcakes look beautiful, but they were delicious too! Additionally, the entire Treat team was a "treat" to work with! Sarah was fantastic in assisting us in designing the cupcakes. They were flexible in moving our pick up time earlier & dealing with an anxious bride who's wedding plans were coming unhinged due to hurricane Irene. They were flexible about the cupcake stand return, which at one point was a concern.

We used the buywithme discount (a half dozen cupcakes) and I'm glad we did b/c I would NOT have wanted to spend $20 on 6 cupcakes. The good - the red velvet cupcake was delish. The best I have had in a while! And I am a HUGE fan of red velvet ANYTHING. Moist cake, great cream cheese frosting, dense but not too dense, great flavor. Yum, I could eat one right now and it is 9:15am. The bad - Two of them involving peanut butter (one was the fluffernutter and the other was some sort of peanut butter and chocolate mix). I didn't personally try them but my very non-picky husband said they were both pretty dry and crumbly (which shouldn't be the case as there is a chocolate filling in the peanut butter and chocolate one). After reading these reviews and seeing they are actually pre-baked cupcakes that makes perfect sense to me. The oreo cupcake was good but the frosting was a little too sweet - my friend with a HUGE sweet tooth didn't even want to eat the frosting. The ugly - the lack of pizazz in the place. Parking was kind of annoying (parked on street) and the place was pretty sparse in terms of decorations and "fun". They could have done suck a better job making the place feel homey and comfortable... a place you actually want to stay. We went at about noon on a Saturday - it wasn't busy at all but everyone behind the counter seemed VERY rushed and borderline hostile. I was calmer than they were as the consumer! Will I go back? Yes, for the red velvet cupcakes. I won't spend the money on a 6-pack without a coupon. This is a new-ish place so I know they have the potential to get better and I'm sure if they heed the reviews they will.

It pains to me to have to write such a negative review of what seems like it could be a wonderful establishment, but Treat Cupcake Bar is deserving. I trekked out to Needham from Brighton shortly after Treat opened after hearing all the buzz about their fantastic cupcakes. Being allergic to gluten, I was anxious to try their gluten-free cupcakes. The counterstaff seemed very inept and green (awkward high school students with no customer service experience) and were lost when I asked about the gluten-free cupcake choices. I was so excited for a cupcake that I ignored the lack of service and happily brought my cupcake home with me for dessert later on that day. I was very happy with the moist, delicious cake and rich, creamy frosting. It was so good, too good. it didn't taste remotely gluten-free, it tasted 100% normal. My worst fears were realized when the next morning and for several days following I was terribly sick to my stomach from consuming gluten. As all other meals I ate for at least 3 days prior to visiting Treat were prepared myself, I know I was "glutened" by Treat. I immediately contacted them via email to explain the situation. They were somewhat apologetic but said they are still adjusting to food allergy offerings, which is NOT an excuse. Period. I was not offered any sort of compensation to visit again, therefore I will not, nor will I suggest any of my friends patron Treat Cupcake Bar. If you are allergic to gluten, STAY AWAY. Go to Kick*ss Cupcakes instead, where they take major precautions to avoid mistakes such as this.

I had a Lemon Drop cupcake from Treat, and I am not going to lie: I practically gobbled it down it was so delicious! The cake was moist and fresh, and the frosting...smooth, light, and creamy. Definitely some of the best frosting I have ever had. The lemon wasn't tart at all. I have had a lot of "gourmet" cupcakes that were either just plain bad, overpriced for the quality or size, too dry.....etc., but not here! I would say that Treat is definitely worthy of its claim as a gourmet cupcakery. I can't wait to go back!

The cupcake bar was a lot of fun to bring my preteen and teenaged little cousins to for an outing. I ordered a premade red velvet cupcake and my boyfriend had the peanut butter bomb. The frosting on my cupcake was the best thing I've ever had, and that says a lot considering I'm not big on frosting. My boyfriend loved the peanut butter bomb, and the girls loved the cupcakes they got to make. They even had special boxes to keep the cupcakes from getting smushed and bouncing around. The place is very cutely decorated and a great place for a kids party. I'll definitely go back.

I have been to Treat quite a few times. I the size of the cupcakes and amount of frosting are generous. I have gotten the gluten free flavor of cupcake and frosting, which they are very careful about keeping away from everything else as to not contaminate it. I have also had a few of the pre made cupcakes, which were all really good. My favorite part about going in there is the mix-ins! You get to pick your cupcake/frosting flavor and then pick three of their mix-ins. They have a huge amount to pick from and they will chop them up and put them in a cup of frosting. You get to spread the frosting yourself and eat the leftovers YUM! The decor is really cute. The staff has always been very helpful and friendly!

First off, I have never been a cupcake fanatic. I realize its 'likethecoolestthingEVER' right now - but Ive never been a huge fan. However, with my bias aside treat really is a neat little place. I grew up near where Treat now stands and would have loved it when i was younger - which is confirmed by the fact that if you go in around the time school gets out (or god forbid on a half day) it is PACKED with kids on a sugar high. That being said, I now make a point to go only on off-hours. They have a neat Coldstone-esque area where you receive an unfrosted cupcake (your canvas, if you will) in a flavor of your choice. You then choose frosting flavor and candy/sprinkles/extras which are mixed toegther and given in a side dish. The kids are then able to frost their own cupcakes on the adorable trays they are served on. I, however, have only ever purchased their pre-made cupcakes. My favorite by far is the Smores one, followed by the peanut butter one and red velvet. The decor is intense (for someone like me that doesnt really like pink or polka dots), but charming. Only reason I took off one star is because several of their best flavors are on a rotating schedule - yet some of the ones they keep permanently are not-so-good. Also a downside - the display cases for the pre-made cupcakes (read: 'the adult section') is right in front of one of the registers... so if there are many people there you have little time to see what is being offered before having to order. I have had to ask people to please move so i can see what is on display - which I dont feel should be the responsibility of the customer. Those two negatives aside, this place is charming and cute but as I said before, if your not with a kid Id advise going at off hours.

Treat is adorable. The presentation and fun-ness factor of being able to pick your own toppings is a real, well..."treat." Unfortunately, you pay a premium for this: this is *the* priciest cupcake shop that I know of. I'm embarrassed to admit that I pay $5.00 for a single vegan oreo cookie cupcake there. My faves are the vegan pumpkin, chocolate orange, mocha, soy nut butter, and oreo. However, you should call ahead if you're looking for a particular flavor as they aren't always available. Parking can be tricky here as it's metered. Sometimes you get lucky with a space right in front, but usually I park in the Walgreen's lot and hope not to be towed. Still, it's right in town for me and it's nice to have access to vegan treats so readily...when you can get 'em...at any cost. They're not the best vegan cupcakes out there, but they're really good. And I hear they're now making vegan AND soy-free options now for the allergy-prone among us. Nice to know...they'll do custom orders, which came in handy for a kids' birthday party earlier this year.

YUMMY!!! So delish! I received a Daily Candy email about this wonderful shop and decided to make a special stop the day before my daughters first birthday to pick her up a cupcake treat! I bought 4 pre made cupcakes, 2 lemon, 1 red velvet and 1 vanilla with vanilla frosting. The lemon cupcake was shared between my husband and me that night. We fought over the fork and who would take the next bite. My word of advice, these cupcakes should not be shared The lemon flavor was just right! The next night my one year old thoroughly enjoyed her very first cupcake! The pictures prove it. I did have a taste of this cupcake and thought it was wonderful. I finished the red velvet last night. The cream cheese frosting was absolutely delish! I can't wait for my next special trip to Treat!

I have been twice and both times was very unimpressed. The cupcakes lack flavor and they are dry, the frosting is way to sweet, the concept is great and the kids love it but they charge too much for what you actually get. I always try a place a few times before ruling them out, unfortunately I cant recommend these cupcakes :( My 2 cents: Whenever looking at reviews always scroll to the bottom and look at the filtered reviews as well. I don't agree with Yelps review filter- ALL reviews should be counted. In many cases if all reviews were considered 5 star companies would have a 2 star rating and vice versa. Decide for yourself yelpers, don't let their "algorithm " do it for you!

I was so excited by this place when I heard of it and stopped in. The ability to kind of "make your own" with the toppings etc sounded like a fun idea. However, I was so disappointed in the quality of the cake and frosting. The frosting was flavorless and the cake part was kind of dry and crumbly.

Pretty amazing cupcakes - best in Boston area in my opinion. Cake is fantastic and the balance of frosting is just right. Make your own - really fun idea. Agree w/ comment about sharing - the cupcakes are big. They do sell minis if you want to sample.

Yum! I loved the lemon cupcake and had a bite of my friend's oreo, which was amaaazing. The frosting to cake ratio was really nice. The cake is dense and tasty, and I'm not a cake person. As far as cupcake places go, I think it's a good value: $3ish for their cupcakes, $4something for creating your own. Friendly, friendly service. Great iced coffee.

This is the best cupcake place I have ever been to or had cupcakes from. The people that work there are friendly and the place is so cute looking. You get huge great cupcakes for a reasonable price (3.25 I think?) unlike all the generic cupcake places in the city where you pay more for a tiny subpar cupcake. They have vegan/gluten free cupcakes and they are just as good and big as the normal ones. They also offer a cupcake bar where you can create one yourself and they offer regular & vegan ones for this too!

Disclaimer: I used to work here for a really short period of time, so please understand that that isn't biasing my review. With that said, I love cupcakes from treat. I have basically been trying to find a place in San Diego that makes cupcakes as moist and perfectly balanced as the ones at Treat and I've been failing. Make your own treat: I know that 4.25 can sound $$ for a cupcake, but I went to a place in CA that charges 5.25 for it, so its not that bad. And its an experience and its fun and cute and so yummy. I would suggest a marble cake with cream cheese frosting, heath bar and reeses. Pick your treat: I love these cupcakes. I know cupcakes are the trendy thing these days so everywhere makes cupcakes, but I swear there are no cupcakes that I love more than the ones from Treat. They are also huge, so I don't mind shelling out 3.25 for something that size. Its a good treat! The environment: Its pink and blue and exactly what I expect from a cupcake place without the 'overly cupcake' feel that a lot of places these days are going for.

I would like to think that the cupcake fad isnt dead...yet. Treat Cupcake Bar breathes life into the theory that cupcakes arent just for kids and can still be delicious/rich. I ordered the Funky Chunky Oreo and it was really good. Not the best cupcake i've ever had but still really what i was looking for as dessert. I think one way it wouldve been better is if they put the oreo frosting as the cream inside so it would explode when you bite into it. I chose to play it safe and pick from the standard cupcakes, but you can also go to the Bar and make your own cupcake with gummy worms and crazy concoctions like a mad mixologist. Overall great idea and alot of fun, but not sure if its sustainable to last the years with its prices.

Great idea. Fun to bring your kids for a 45 minute activity. My only complaint was the girl behind the counter. She acted like she would rather be home watching tv. She wasn't rude, but she had no enthusiasm. She practically threw our cupcake kits at us. If I had been undercover for the company, it would have been her last day working there. The other girl was much better and what I would expect in a context where kids frequent. I hope the owner reads this and when I go back, the experience will be more enjoyable outside of the cupcake.

I like cupcakes. I work in Needham Center. This place has been taunting me with a "coming soon" sign for over two months - and then they kind of opened, closed because they were having trouble keeping up with the volume, and reopened for real this past Friday. The store is cute. Very clean. The cupcakes - the regular ones - cost $3.25 per. The "make your own option" - which is why this is a cupcake "Bar" and not just a cupcake "Bakery" - is $4.25 per cupcake. I bought two of the regular treats: the Needham Cream Pie, and the Lemon Drop (a seasonal item), and an iced tea. This set me back $9 and change. The Needham Cream Pie is a vanilla cupcake, with vanilla cream filling and a dark chocolate ganache: essentially it's a boston cream pie in cupcake form.(I'm a sucker for a good Boston cream pie.) The Lemon Drop was a vanilla cupcake with lemon buttercream frosting and a candied lemon peel candy thing on top. The cupcakes are a good size. Moist, with a good crumb. Of the two, I preferred the Needham Cream Pie. The ganache was good, the vanilla filling was tasty. The lemon one was OK, not great: the frosting was too sweet for my tastes. Also, it overpowered the cupcake a bit. Overall, the place was OK - maybe even good. But it was pricey, and I'd rather have a basic cupcake from a place like Lyndells for $1.50 than a crazy expensive $3.25 one. Iced tea was good, but not as good as Starbucks.

I had a buywithme coupon for this place that was due to expire. I was a little nervous reading reviews about this place prior to cashing in. I've been to a few fancy cupcake places where quality was really not worth the price. And a dry cupcake with overly sugary frosting is pretty disappointing. So I went in on a Wednesday afternoon and picked up 6 premade cupcakes and brought them to a picnic with a few friends. The peanut butter chocolate cupcake was aMAZing. The cake was moist and delicious and the peanut butter frosting gave the perfect balance of flavors. The carrot cake cupcake was also good, but my friend described it as "out of control" (in a good way). The red velvet cupcake was well received by my friends, but i'm not a huge red velvet person. My husband loved the needham cream pie cupcake too. So, overall, the cupcakes were excellent. Not dry, not overly sugary and this place definitely executes the goumet cupcake very well.

Another dry cupcake bakery in the Boston area. Mint chocolate cupcake frosting was both too salty and too sweet. Cake was dry with chocolate that was ordinary at best. Gross. Babycakes in Quincy reigns as the best cupcake in New England.

Cupcakes are fantastic! Several yummy flavors to pick from. I have never been disappointed in taste or presentation. Treat is the perfect name for the business... Each time you enjoy one, it feels like a special Treat! Fair warning - the Red Velvet seems to sell out fast! If you want to try it, you gotta get there early! I have made 4 attempts so far to get my hands on one (I hear they are to die for!) ... So far no luck! I'm gonna have to step up my game - and keep trying! update! 5/28/11 - on my 6th attempt to get a Red Velvet... sweet success! It was all that I had anticipated and more. It was moist and the frosting was perfection. AMAZING! Put this on your 'must try' list!

The cupcake was pretty good and the service was good, but I probably won't go back very often because of obviously ginormous calorie content. If I could buy an individual mini cupcake and have it with a nice cup of coffee I might be inclined to do that more often, even if I had to pay too much for the small cupcake.

I'm surprised to see such mixed reviews! We went with a group & tried a variety of pre-made cupcakes. Each one of us was happy and satisfied. I had a very lousy cup of coffee, which was disappointing, but the cupcakes did NOT disappoint at all!

My family and I enjoy Treat. The cupcakes are uniformly good and always attractive. That said, despite the number of varieties, we found that most often your choice is between an ordinary yellow or chocolate cake with a variety of buttercream frostings. I, for one, would like to see more variety in the cake itself. The size is good for the money but the frosting is often a bit bland. I'm missing the variety of flavors found in other cupcake shops.

I have read and learned a little about this space months ago but was waiting to visit when I was in the area since I don't live too close. I parked on the street across from the entrance, there are metered spaces along this street which makes it easy to park. The facade is a large glass window with their logo decal across the front, as you enter in front of you there is an under-counter display case with prepared cupcakes. there are about 8 different options. Traditional ones like vanilla or chocolate, red velvet, and also fluffernutter, mint-chip, etc... I can't remember them all. The cake all looks the same other than the color - very flat cake... probably a good amount of oil in the cake i imagine? Some of the frosting is dolloped on top by using an ice cream scoop. Not a very nice presentation at all. The size is appropriate for the price, but for such a stylized space with bells and whistles with t-shirts, snazzy packaging, glass front space, etc... you would expect to find a better or more finished cupcake... I'm just saying. To your right there is the cupcake bar with all the garnishes - not sure if there is a time that it is open or accessible all day? So, I ordered a chocolate with vanilla and the fluffernutter. The chocolate cake is light and not too sweet but the frosting is sweet and not very good. The fluffernutter has a nice peanut butter flavor, but again the cake is light and flavorless. Not much substance to the cake and the frosting makes up more than the difference on its end... If you live in the area why not stop in, but it is not worth an out of the way trip. One note about this business is that it does seem to have a mission on giving back, which is great. They have an event under the title "treat others well" when the proceeds will be donated to local causes. I hope that they improve upon the presentation of the cupcakes and work on the texture and flavor of the cake. Also, I was the only person there, but the girl assisting me was attentive and responsive. I am buying a cupcake not a car - don't need that much assistance. One other note is that my cupcakes were packaged in a nice plastic, protective container and then a handle was stapled around it to finish the packaging -- again, there is a lot more thought put into packaging and more needs to be put into the cupcakes. My final note/thought is that I feel that the person/people behind this operation are setting themselves up for a quick expansion/franchise - just a feeling...

Cute place that's sure to be popular with the wee folk. Meaning, get lucky with the timing or bring ear plugs. Dense cupcakes with real frosting. The pink lemonade cupcake is really good...oh heck, all of them I've tried have been good (the Needham is what a hostess cupcake wants to be). Too lazy to do the make your own thing, but be warned that they mix your topping choice into the frosting. I would want to control the interaction of the topping + frosting, and I'm sure they'll you do that too. Good iced coffee. Happy-seeming high school kids behind the counter.

I stopped by after I saw that they had a BuyWithMe deal on (I didn't actually buy the deal). I was headed to my newly pregnant friend's house and she's been craving sweet stuff recently. Quality of cupcakes aside, I found this place to be HORRIBLY disorganized. I realize that they're new, and that they have mostly teenagers working there, but it should NOT take me 20 minutes to point at 4 cupcakes and pay for them when there are only a handful of other people being served. The really need to add another register at the pre-made cupcake bar so you don't get stuck behind a gaggle of teenyboppers who can't decide whether they want rainbow or chocolate sprinkles in their make-you-own frosting. Not to mention I stood at the counter for far longer than was necessary while at least 3 different people ignored me. Even if you're busy, acknowledge my presence and say you'll be with me in a minute. Don't avoid eye contact every time you walk by. Once it came to finally eating the cupcakes, I thought they were fine. The red velvet frosting was extra delicious, and the other flavors were pretty standard. No complaints, but no raves either.

Drove about 40 minutes to get here, because we wanted cupcakes and the reviews on Yelp were good. I don't know if it was just because I was so looking forward to it, but I was kind of disappointed. They didn't have cream cheese frosting for the make your own and the buttercream I settled for was overwhelmingly sweet. BUT I would still recommend trying it, because it was a large cupcake and the cake itself was good. I might go back if I'm in the area again, but I wouldn't make another out of my way trip.

The cupcakes are yummy! I have tasted few equals to their vanilla buttercream frosting (it's great). As a native Needhamite, I went here on their opening day July 3rd. I had a fourth-of-July themed cupcake, which was almost perfect except that there was a rather large peppermint stick on top which took way too to long to eat: I want to enjoy the cupcake longer than the topping! I returned here recently and had the "Plain Jane" vanilla with vanilla frosting (my favorite kind of cupcake, so a good way to measure the quality of a cupcake place). As already mentioned, their frosting MAKES their cupcakes. They get points for employing teenagers (it was always impossible to get hired in Needham when I was in high school), but lose points for not training them to greet people. Because they are a new place and they have this novel "design-your-own" cupcake idea, they should really have employees that offer to explain the process to the customers. But again, I say, hooray for cupcakes!

When I was reading the reviews, I was expecting dry cupcakes. I didn't think the cupcakes were dry. I ordered a half dozen with my Groupon: red velvet, funfetti, mint chocolate, cookie dough, oreo, and a vanilla. I enjoyed the red velvet and it had a nice cream cheese frosting. Not too sweet. I disliked all the vanilla cakes especially the funfetti. They were nasty and after 1 bite, I threw them out. I like the mint chocolate cupcake but there was something about the mint frosting that was a little funky. The cookie dough was ok, the dough was a little salty. and the oreo had bits of oreo cookie underneath the frosting and the frosting was a little buttery. I like the chocolate cake better at Treat. I guess you can also decorate your own cupcake.

Sigh. After a weekend long hankering for a good cupcake, I decided to venture out into the wilderness (aka Needham) in search of something to satisfy my sweet tooth. Let me tell you... looks are deceiving. Treat's storefront is adorable: the bright colors are inviting, the little serving trays are sweet, the cupcakes beckoned be from behind the glass case. I swear, they all looked AMAZING. I was so excited that I could not just choose one....so I bought four (yes...damn skippy I bought four cupcakes!). Unfortunately, I was sorely disappointed. The oreo cupcake had a slightly odd texture and while the icing was distinctly reminiscent of Oreos, it was nothing special. The lemon cupcake was just meh. The plain vanilla was decent. The cake was moist and flavorful but the icing was more sugary than fatty (I prefer rich and dense icings like buttercream and cream cheese). The red velvet had good flavor and icing was decent but the cake was dry and crumbly. A+ for packaging and presentation, C for filling my cupcake craving.

Treat has come a long way since they first opened. They are now a go-to when we want a cupcake. Their consistency is much improved and their frosting delicious. Way to go Treat! Keep up the good work:)

Fun concept. I've seen it done better (see the cupcake bar in Princeton NJ - wow). Cake was not sweet which I like but didn't have a lot of taste and was overly dense. I love cupcakes but the icing didn't do it for me. Flat and too soft of a texture. If you are a fan of Party Favors in Brookline (perfect buttercream frosting and tasty cakes), then this will disappoint. Atmosphere is hip. Can see into the bakery area which looks interesting. I was surprised at the $4.25 price for make-your-own. Agree with other reviews that there weren't many pre-made options almost forcing you to choose the make-your-own. No coffee made at 8:15 pm!

AWFUL! I hate to say it, but it's true. I love cupcakes, but these are dense and taste terrible. My daughters didn't even like them which is unusual. We had the premade and the make your own. The cupcakes were cold (just came from freezer) for the make your own cupcakes. The premade cupcakes were not cold, but dense and tasteless. The red velvet was completely tasteless and the cream cheese frosting too sweet. I have never said anything was too sweet before. The other flavors (we ordered one of every kind to share at home) were all dense, dry, and tasteless. We will never go back. The cupcakes we make at home are so much better. We were so excited about this place, but so disappointed!

I went to Treat Cupcake bar the first week it opened on a Sunday. I love cupcakes and was very excited that I will be able to get cupcakes in my town easily to fill my sweet tooth need. When I went around 5 there was not a lot of choices to choose from. There were only vanilla, red velvet, and white oreo cupcake. I decided to take the red velvet. The staff was very friendly and kind. I brought the cupcake home and went to eat it and was very disappointed. The cream cheese frosting was excellent but the cupcake itself was very dry and tasteless. I was shocked. I've had many cupcakes before specially from the shops in Boston, and I have never had a bad cupcake. I figured it as because I went on a Sunday around 5. So I went back to give it another shot and I got funky chunky oreo. The frosting was delicious just like the red velvets but again the cupcake was dry and and not fluffy. (note I went around noon time to get the cup cake) I was very disappointed. I will not recommend anyone to go to Treat. Not to mention they were very expensive. 4.25 a cupcake. I will drive the extra mile to Coolidge Corner's Party Favors or to West Roxbury Sugar Bakery.

Owner saw my yelp review and offered to send a refund for a cupcake, which I thought was quite gracious. Since we're a bit of a ride away, I asked her to give a free cupcake to a special child and put a smile on a kid's face.

Treat is so cute inside, perfect for a day with the kids and to fill the "let's go out for an ice cream" void that will come with the colder weather. The cupcakes are delicious (I loved the peanut butter cupcake). Definitely worth going to see this original cupcake store.

My colleague brought in cupcakes today from this place, and of course I need no arm twisting to accept a cupcake, regardless of the fact that it is 9:09 in the morning. But seriously. Ah. May. Zing. I've grown tired of the cupcake-only-bakery fad, but Treat has me reconsidering....

So, I've tried this place a couple times now, and I'm just not a fan. It's hit or miss...mostly miss. For $3-4 a pop, I'm not looking for a cupcake that's been sitting around for a while. While I loved the red velvet cupcake on my first visit, it was bland and dry on my second visit, tasting like it had been sitting in the display case for a few days. The oreo cupcake was also dry on our first visit. The german chocolate was delicious on our second visit, but I'm not willing to give it another try (risking an encounter with yet another dry cupcake!)... I can see how this could be cute/fun for kids (although, you could easily recreate this experience at home for a fraction of the price), but I'll skip this place going forward...

I was recommended to check out Treat as I'm considering cupcakes in lieu of cake for my upcoming wedding. The store is easily accessible and has a nice atmosphere inside. The two women working were very helpful in answering questions about the cupcakes, bulk ordering, etc. I opted for two of the premade cupcakes to take home for me and hubby-to-be to try. The lemon drop was delicious. A different combo than other cupcakeries that I've been to. The cake was so moist, and the frosting light and just sweet enough without being too sweet. The double chocolate was also delicious; again very moist and the frosting the perfect amount of sweet. The cupcakes are large. After getting an email about accommodating a wedding order, I learned they are "jumbo" and they also offer mini and standard sizes. With very competitive pricing, attentive and pleasant staff, excellent tasting cupcakes and a unique, build your own option, Treat is definitely my favorite cupcake vendor yet!

Met some friends here today, and we all drove by it several times because it's so inconspicuous. It's because it's dwarfed by the GNC, and there's no huge Treat sign on the awning next to its neighbors. There's a tiny sign on the door, and there are several circular, multi-colored designs on the window. On to the cupcakes. For $3.25, you can get a pre-made cupcake, or for $4.25, you can create your own. You start with a bare little cake, add your frosting and three toppings from the candy bar. They give you a little tray with your frosting and toppings mixed in a cup, in addition to your bare cake. From there, you spread the confectionery mess all over your cake and join the rest of the kids overdosing on sugar. My boy did the make your own thing and it was way too sweet for me. I bought a pre-made peanut butter chocolate ganache cupcake and it was phenomenal. Really rich, and just what a cupcake should be. I won't need to have dessert for a month. The girls behind the counter are nice, and the bathroom is clean. Get a cup of coffee or Mighty Leaf tea. There's also complimentary water behind the counter which I noticed later on; you probably just have to ask.

I recently took my "Little Sister" here after reading about this place in the Boston Globe. For $4.25, she was able to "design" her own cupcake. She chose a marble cupcake with chocolate buttercream frosting and topped it off with white chocolate chips (huge ones!), sprinkles, and coconut. If you want to make your own, the place reminds me of Coldstone Creamery, but they mix your toppings in with the frosting. You can pick up to three toppings. For the cake, there are the standard flavors -- golden, chocolate, and marble -- but there are also vegan and gluten-free options. To be honest, the chocolate buttercream frosting was an unappealing color to begin with and then it looked even weirder when the gal dipped the spatula into warm water. Kinda a light brown mush. Surprisingly though, the frosting wasn't bad. The prices are kinda steep, but the cupcake is pretty huge. You can also get a pre-made cupcake for less. I saw a peanut butter cupcake that looked good, as well as an Oreo one. I might need to return to try those next time! The service was friendly and the decor was bright and welcoming. I like how their website talks about their commitment to the community. It makes me definitely want to support this new business. Finally, they have nifty carrying cases if you want a treat to go.

Looking for a sugar high? Treat Cupcake Bar is your place. Make your own cupcakes skewed heavily toward the ten and under set. With that in mind, you'd think they'd design the space to absorb the noise. No, on the sunny afternoon we dropped there were two families choosing cupcakes at a very high volume. I had a pre-made red velvet with cream cheese frosting. He had a make-your-own marble with chocolate frosting mixed with peppermint patties and white chocolate chips. The latter was definitely moister. Should I pay additional $1.00 for fresher?

I was really disappointed with this place. The cupcakes were really dense and the frosting had little taste. I tried the red velvet, triple chocolate, and creamsicle cupcakes. I didn't finish them - that never happens, ever. I'll give them credit for having a nice shop and a creative idea for trying out different toppings, but the cake and frosting should be a priority. I love to support local spots, so I hope they get it together.

I went here for a private function and it was adorable!! The cupcakes are huge and incredibly delicious. I liked that I could make my own cupcake and choose how much frosting I wanted with each bite. I brought a dozen home, and uh, they didn't last long.
