Disappointing. Food was "just OK". Definitely not great. Service was slow even though it wasn't busy. No wait for a table Saturday night, I know why not. ! You know what REALLY drives me crazy? It's when a place refills my glass of Diet Coke over and over during the meal, then when I get the bill I find out they're charging for the individual refills. That 's the kind of nickel and dime stuff that Primavera does.

Mother's Day buffet was well run and organized. We were concerned considering the reviews we read. But they rose to the occasion. Food was fresh, hot and tasty. Well done.

Every time I come here I have no clue where the bad reviews come from. Service is great, food is always delicious and the portions are huge! Love the fresh focaccia bread to start with, so good. I had the bolognese and my husband had a special, both were made with fresh pappardelle pasta and were very good. Can't wait for the patio to open!

This restaurant was a big disappointment! Poor service.....waited over 45 minutes for our food....and when my ravioli came, nothing was inside it! It was just the pasta, hardly any cheese or butternut squash. It might have been the first time I left a restaurant hungry!

Went there for mothers day brunch today and was not impressed at all...same food as regular brunch and just wasnt good. What upset me the most is that I did message them on Facebook and gave them also 1 star.Their response was for me to go to Olive Garden!! I will never go there again just because of their very unprofessional response.

After our drinks and appetizers arrived, we simply could not wait for the rest of our meals. The appetizers were delicious, but unfortunately they could not compensate for the hour and a half that we waited for the entrées. Upon inquiring with the waitress, she informed us that the kitchen forgot to make our meals, "but don't worry," she said "we took them off the bill". Excuse me, what? Obviously the entrées would be taken off of the bill, considering we never even got them- but what's worse is that she then brought the check over without ever mentioning whether or not we would get our food! When we asked, she reported that she had told the kitchen not to make it because she figured we would probably want to leave after waiting for so long. It was an absolutely horrendous experience and we quickly left- but not without telling the hostess how displeased we were with the service. Her response? "Please don't tell people, that's not fair to us". I wish it were possible to give this abhorrent restaurant zero stars. We have been here multiple times over the past 6 years or so; however, since undergoing new management, Primavera has become the poster child for despicable service and mediocre food. The waitstaff and hostesses conduct themselves unprofessionally and most likely could not even meet McDonald's requirements for proper dining room behavior. From the hostesses to the bartenders, we did not encounter one individual that seemed happy to be employed. Avoid this place, you will probably get better service at the Subway up the street.

Went last Friday as a party of 6. The food was very good, priced well. Not crowded at all, so we had a great time. Service was fine, just it was a little on the cool side, maybe because doors on both sides. Wish the waitress asked me if I wanted coffee with my dessert. I would add some music or something to liven it up.

We went back to Primavera for the first time in a long time. Rachel our waitress was attentive and friendly. The first thing that tipped us off that we were in for a good night was the heavy pours in the wine glasses. The apps were large and delicious. We ordered the Crazy Wings (very juicy), Risotto Balls and Fried Calamari. We couldn't even finish the app they were so big. I had the special of the evening, Steak tip and sausage Bolognese over polenta. The tips absolutely melted in my mouth. My wife and daughter ordered chicken dishes that were amazing. It is going to be one of our go to favorite places from here on in.

Service was quick. Portions were well-sized. Now let's get to the bad parts. The place settings were set upside-down at the table. The vegetable medley in my seared ahi was clearly previously frozen. Pasta dishes were undercooked. The waitress didn't clear the bread and bread plates the entire meal. The creme brûlée one person at my table ordered didn't even have the melted sugar coating, and the tiramisu came in *plastic* cups (clearly not from Primavera's kitchen). To top it all off, the men's room a) was out of liquid soap, b) was out of paper towels, c) had a vomit-filled toilet. For one of the only restaurants in town with a classy feel, Primavera needs to step up their game and clean up their act before I'll ever go back.

Just OK. Used to go years ago and it was great. This time - I'm glad a had a coupon. Thursday nite and there was plenty of room in the restaurant. The hostess was pleasant as was the waiter but the décor looked tired - except the curtains that must have just been taken out of the package, hung without ironing and were too long for the window. The first table we were seated at had no room to breath never mind relax. They did let us move. The bread was ok but cut far too thick. Instead of butter or olive oil we received a plate with olive oil, a mystery mound and grated cheese. The waiter never told us what it was til we asked. It tasted like tuna fish but surprise - this white mound was hummus. Never had fishy hummus before. The drinks were equally interesting. I ordered a lemon sparkler - that came with 10 lemon seeds - big ones (yes I counted as I fished them out!). My husband had the baked seafood casserole- it looked and tasted OK but the shrimp were butterflied to look bigger, the scallops were the little bay scallops and there wasn't enough lobster to have filled a claw and were all small pieces. There was no choice of type of potato. I had the Abbruzzese. The pasta did taste like fresh but like my husbands the fish was minimal.and the vegetables were equally minimal - a few pea pods, couple of pieces of cut asparagus, small pieces of spinach - never found the broccoli or sun dried tomatoes. We decided to take dessert to go. The Oreo cheesecake was small. The waiter was conscientious enough to tell me the crème Brule probably wouldn't look pretty as they'd have to scoop it out of cup. Both desserts were garnished with Cool whip!, a cake pop and a biscotti. Maybe a kid would have liked the pop and the biscotti was a nut biscotti without the nuts. The crème Brule tasted like vanilla pudding - not custard. All in all, not worth the $75. Won't bother going back.

We have been here twice in the last couple of weeks. The food and service has been great. The outside patio is very nice and the early bird deals before 6:30 are quite a value. We have not experienced the problems that have resulted in so many bad reviews.

I write the following having been in the food service industry for 18 years myself and was at the restaurant with three other people, all of whom work or have worked in the food industry as well. 5:45 PM: We arrived for dinner on a Saturday night, there were 4 adults and our 11 month old daughter. We were promptly seated and given menus at which time I asked for a kids menu for our daughter. A few minutes later our server cam by and took our drink order, I did not order a drink because i hadn't had a chance to look at the menu and asked for more time. A few minutes later the girl who sat us came by with the kids menu. We were given bread while waiting for our server to return and I asked the girl who brought us bread if she could place the order for our daughters meal. 5:55 PM: Our server arrived with the 2 glasses of wine. We order all of our food, our daughters food and my drink. We placed the order for our daughters food again as the girl who brought our bread did not have a chance to tell our server about the order. 6:15 PM: Our server returns to our table for the first time since our order was taken with my drink. I was told that the reason this took so long was because she couldn't find the button for the drink in the POS system, I ordered some crazy hot chocolate drink off the menu. At this time I asked where the food was for my daughter. I explained that I was not concerned about the rest of the tables food but that getting our daughter fed was top priority. We had ordered chicken fingers and fries for her with no salt. I was told that the kitchen was very busy and she was sorry. 6:30 PM: I approached the server and asked to pay for the drinks and to cancel our order. Never in my entire life have I left a restaurant before being served any food. In between each of the times noted above when we saw our server she was no where to be found. All I cared about was getting my daughter fed. To wait 35 minutes for chicken fingers and fries is a joke. Had we been able to feed her I am sure we would have stayed but who knew how long it was going to take for her food to arrive. Here are a few other things I noticed during our 45 minutes here. The table to our right had already ordered before we sat down. In a 45 minute span I saw them get served 3 salads and a bowl of soup, non of these items had been cleared and were still on their table when we left. A table to our left sat down just after our first drink order was taken. They were about to have the dinner order taken when I asked for our check. That means that between sitting down and placing their order for dinner over 30 minutes had elapsed. I saw maybe four tables of customers get food over the 45 minutes. When we walked in the restaurant it was less than half full and few people had food in front of them. When we walked out they were about 3/4 full. I cannot say for sure but I think they had a function happening at the same time as we were there. I think that the kitchen couldn't handle it and that the servers for the dining room were also working the function. If I am correct this is a bad business plan and it showed in the dining room. Bottom line here is I would not recommend going here for dinner unless you don't care about how long the service takes. This was a terribly frustrating experience for all of us involved. The worst part of the whole thing is once we left we had to find another option. Well at 6:30 PM on a Saturday night all of the other options were on a wait. Thanks to these guys we had no choice but to order takeout and eat at home. We were offered no apology from a manager on the way out or anyone for that matter. This situation made me feel like i was on the show kitchen nightmares. I was waiting for Gordon Ramsey to come out of the kitchen and tell all the guests that they were closing for the night because no one had any clue on how to expedite a service or even place an order. This place is a straight up joke, a really bad joke that you wish you had never heard.

Just came from Sunday brunch, It was by far the worst brunch i have been to. arrived 12:30 .waitress was very nice. Proceeded to the buffet,i took small amount of scrambled eggs and fruit, Anticipating the seafood newburg that was advertised. At 12:45 i went to get the Newburg, they were out of it . i moved to the chickenOh! guess what? no chicken. The pasta was dry looking and hardly no sauce. Two of us asked if they would refill. No, was the answer. then to cover themselves. the cook at the carving station came over and outright lied. Saying the cook was making some more newburg. So from 12:45 to when we left. nothing was refilled in the lunch section, So I paid 15.00 for scrambled eggs and fruit. All i can say is word of mouth is thd best advertisement. I don`t know how this place has lasted this long. Martha, Norfolk,Ma.

Went to dinner with friends on a Wed evening. Weather outside had been in the high nineties. When we were seated we asked if the air conditioner was on as it was very warm in there. We were told it was just turned on. The truth is it wasn't working ! I felt bad for the employees who were all sweating uncomfortably! We couldn't enjoy our dinner as the sweat was pouring off us . My friend said to us I guess we won't come back until winter. The RUDE manager over heard her talking to us and said she didn't like the comment and started arguing about it. My opinion is the manager should find a job that doesn't involve interacting with people and since I'm an animal lover I would have to leave out pet sitting as well! We asked to have our dessert put in a container and ate it in the car. Moral of the story...DON"T eat there!

Been to this brunch 4-5 times over last few years .if you keep your eyes open you can often find a $10/person coupon in local papers and flyers. Watch out though ,they keep offering to fill up your orange juice glasses, and I was suprised to learn at check time that I paid for each and every refil of OJ. The Food; The best items a delicious seafood Newburgh , that I loved. It could have been a little better with some rice. A delicous terriaki steak tips. I tried scrambled eggs and sausage . They were ok . There was an carving station and several meats being sliced. A few cold items, no smoked salmon. Desserts were nothing to write home about. Bottom line ; find the coupon , don't order juice and it's worth the trip.

This was my second visit to Primavera and it will be my last. My brother lives in Franklin and it was his birthday who suggested another restaurant but we over ruled him(!) much to our dismay. We wanted to go Primavera' buffet as we had in the past. We were shown to the bar with high top tables -- should have asked for a table but the hostess pointed to the table and scurried away before we could make this request. After waiting for about fifteen minutes, we had to find a waitress to ask for coffee. I also needed a new cup as the one at my seat was chipped, as was the second one she brought me. Decided to forgo coffee! Then we went in for the buffet. The first thing we saw was white bread and a few half pieces of bagles with a toaster so you could toast your own. This was placed at the beginning of the food table and would hold up the rest of the people behind me in line if I choose to toast my half bagle. Opened the first item, way watery scrambled eggs -- decided to forgo these two items. As I walked on I had bacon, but nothing else appealed to me until the eggs Benedict. Couldn't tell what was at the carving station -- all I could see was fat. There was no omelet station, no pancakes, no waffles, and was unable to decipher what the rest of the offerings were. After managing to climb back up to the table, I tried to find a waitress's attention to ask for juice or at least water. Again, no one was to be found! My brother came back to the table after revisiting the Men's room and said that there were waffles out, but by the time I got there they were all gone and was directed to the French toast - ugh! Fortunately my brother was OK with everything, but did say that next time we would go to the restaurant he had chosen in the first place! They also suggested what to pay for a tip - for a buffet 15 per cent - and she poured coffee! - I don't think so!

I just returned from taking my family (wife and two kids ages 7 and 12) out for Sunday Easter brunch. The food was mediocre at best but the real problem started when we received the bill. When we made the reservation we did so under the impression that adults cost $28 and kids are $14. However, when we received the bill we were charged for 4 adult prices. After questioning the bill we were told that the child price only applies to kids under 10 and that our 7 year old would be charged the child rate. Our 12 year old would have to be charged the adult price though. No where does it say that the kids price is only 10 and under. Not on the website. The manger told my wife it said 10 and under on the website, so she went back and checked her phone and nope it did not. So we spoked to the manger and she said sorry but that's the price and it is what it is. First of all what manger says to her customers it is what it is. So we continued to argue about the false advertising and she said ill be right back, when she came back she finally honored the price but what a Hassle. Never again will I go there and deal with the poor management.

This review is for Primavera's Sunday brunch only. But if the brunch is any indication of their meals in general then another review will be forthcoming. Primavera is a very large place, with a separate entrance for functions. The restaurant is divided up into several smaller rooms that give it an intimate feel despite the large numbers of people there. My friend and I were seated promptly and approached by our outstanding waiter, whose name I sadly did not get. With coffees, juice and a mimosa on order, we ventured into the room where the buffet brunch is located. Wow, a large room full of delicious! Starting from the right there was; bagels, muffins and other bread items, scrambled eggs, bacon and sausage, home fries, corned beef hash and eggs benedict. Across the back wall was; a roast beef carving station, two omelet stations and a pancake/waffle/french toast station. Left side was Italian dinner items; chicken piccata, chicken parm, ravioli in sauce, orecchiette in sauce. An antipasti table; marinated mushrooms and artichoke hearts, tomato and mozzarella salad, roasted peppers, olives, green salad, hummus and crostini. And finally a dessert table; make your own sundaes, cookies, cakes and a chocolate fountain with fruits and other things to dip. And the scary part? I'm sure I'm forgetting a bunch of items! Coupled with the (seemingly) 25 cups of coffee that I had, this is the best brunch that it's been my pleasure to enjoy. I thought the $15.95 per person price tag was reasonable considering the selections and the excellent service. I'm looking forward to going back.

I'll never return. I have been to Primavera several times for dinner and for brunch, each time always saying, "I'd come back." Not this time. We had a 1pm reservation for Sunday brunch on Father's Day. We were seated promptly (well, it was empty...apparently a very large had just cleared out). Well, they also cleared out the buffet and there was nothing left but dried out, picked over food. The staff clearly couldn't be bothered to replenish the empty trays and sternos. I had to ask for refills on french toast, a few salads, and fruit at the chocolate fountain (which wasn't so much "flowing" as it was gurgling from the lack of chocolate to flow in it). The pastas looked dried out and crusty. The cookies tasted stale and fresh out of a box. We never got refills on our initial drinks. We had to bark across the restaurant at the bartender for ketchup (as his eyes were glued to the TV). The staff had just disappeared. My husband returned from the buffet to inform me that all the waitstaff was making plates of food and taking them out back to eat! So I went up there and sure enough, I find myself waiting behind 2-3 employees to eat! I complained to the hostess who seemed apologetic and told me she would tell the manager. I told her to send the manager over to our table. e wait. No manager, no check (AFTER our waitress finally reappeared and asked us if we were all done). We packed up and went to the hostess desk and told her we were ready to go and demanded our check. She said she'd get it and that the manager was going to give us a gift card for our troubles. My husband said he didn't want a gift card to a restaurant he didn't plan on returning to. They wouldn't take anything off the bill and still gave us the stupid gift card. They also charged $18.95pp (versus the usual $15.95pp) because its Father's Day (which was NOT on their website, when I called to make the reservation only 2 days before). So I paid extra for all this crap. What a waste of a Father's Day celebration.

This was the third and last time we ever go here... I should have paid attention to the reviews - as they are true in many ways. I just got the worst service on a Wednesday myself. It took 45 minutes to get our salads. We waited ...almost 1 hour after that to get our food. Some of us at the table had to send the food back because it was cold. Instead of a quick reheat - they made another plate - which took 10 more minutes to get... wow.... And it's easy to see why the service is so poor. The servers carry out the food one plate at a time. So they spend too much time helping other servers deliver the food. As a result - orders just sit around waiting to be picked up - so it comes cold and very very late. And then the deserts were awful... no one ate more than a few bites... I got a Cannoli - one teeny tiny one... and no spoon for the whipped cream on the plate.... Now they did take money off the bill because of the food... but the service is just plain bad... put the food on a tray and bring the whole thing to the table like they do everywhere else.... Why is that so hard? It takes three people to service a table in a half empty restaurant... and they can't refill the water at all... Never going back.

Calamari was great! I had an awesome pizza. Waitstaff was pleasant. We sat in the bar area which was small, but quaint.

Italian Cuisine

The immense popularity of Italian cuisine globally isn't unknown. You can find an Italian Pizzeria around every corner of almost every city in the United States. Not to forget that in every house, people enjoy mac and cheese as comfort food. But it would be wrong to believe that Italian food starts with pizza and ends with good pasta as this Mediterranean country has much more to offer other than these two dishes. In Italian Cuisine, there is a high use of fresh tomatoes, all kinds of herbs, great quality of cheese, all types of meat, seafood and fresh handmade pasta. Many find it hard to believe that Italians have been making noodles long back.

Italian and Greek cuisines are always mistaken to be same, but they are poles apart. The primary difference between the two cuisines is the use of cheese in most of the Italian dishes. Italians love to cultivate their own cheese and process them as per their food requirement. It is believed that some cheese is so expensive that cheese producers secure them in lockers.

If you are bored eating the same old pasta or pizza, you can try some of the authentic Italian dishes like Risotto, Polenta, Ribollita, Lasagna, Fiorentina Steak, Bottarga, Ossobuco, Carbonara, Focaccia, Arancini and Supplì. Another item which Italians love to relish every morning is a good cup of Italian Coffee. Once you taste a freshly brewed cup of Italian Coffee, you might not visit Starbucks ever again. Authentic Italian food is made with heart and soul, so go find a restaurant where you can relish Italian cuisine in your city.
