LOVED the sushi- the server (was bartender, ate in lounge @ hightops) was great. We popped in totally unplanned just before a movie but were very impressed. The rolls on the menu were inspired, the special was amazing, drinks were good. In fairness, I can't give five stars because we didn't experience all options- but, if the tepanyaki is as good as the rest was, will come back and give all five.

Ive been meaning to try this place out and thanks to there awesome groupon deal.. it finally did! We went randomly on a Saturday and it was packed but we were seated immediately! We ended up ordering the lettuce wraps for an app, 2 rolls (angry roll and dynamite roll) and for our entrees, we got scallops with duck fried rice and a beef dish (don't remember the exact name) everything was absolutely delicious! the lettuce wraps would have to be our least favorite! the sushi was amazing and very fresh! I enjoyed the dynamite roll a lot.. they had fried shredded pieces of crabstick with the sushi and it was delish! the duck fried rice was yummy and the beef was sooo tender.. melts in your mouth! service was excellent as well.. a bit slow but thats pretty understandable on a busy weekend, however, sushi came out with a quickness.. they had 4/5 sushi chefs behind the sushi bar, so thats also a plus! definitely will be coming back for more in the near future

Went here last night with my wife; we were looking to have a "civilized" night out. I always expect the host/hostess to have a smile and a charming attitude, which was not the case. She wasn't nasty by any means, but she certainly wasn't outgoing either. Maybe it was new job jitters. Either way, it set the tone for me. I felt like they didn't care I was there. Our waiter came to our table promptly but had obviously just been out for a cigarette - he absolutely reeked of freshly smoked cigarette. I've had a smoke or two in my life, but that smell is just gross when you're ready to eat. So, 2 fails thus far for Feng. We ordered drinks which came right away. They were presented nicely and tasted delicious, although a stronger drink can be had at the other (better) long-established sushi joints in Worcester. We started with the spicy salmon and california rolls. They were served quickly, presented nicely, and the price is right. Average of $5 for a roll of 6 pieces. Our main courses were Pad Thai and the Lovers Roll, once of those speciality rolls with all the fixings, dressings, and sauces. Both were good. Pad Thai was better than average, but still not what I considered "done well". Shrimp was a bit over-cooked. ANYTHING on the menu at Takara or Osaka can easily win against the "Lovers Roll". My only real material complaint is that we ordered our second drinks when our food came and it took 15 minutes for those drinks to arrive. I actually had to flag down the waiter and remind him that we'd ordered drinks. That bothered the both of us. Luckily my wife and I always have fun when we dine out. We got out of the entire evening for $100, including tip. Pricey for an amateur dining experience, if you ask me. Of course, I'll pay $100 to have the pleasure of having my wife sit across from me any time. I ate at a greasy spoon last Friday, had the best food I've had in months, nearly ripped my stomach open from the amount of food on my plate, and got out of that one for 12 bucks. Feng's got some work to do before I'll consider going back. Food and service have to improve.

LOVE this restaurant! I have been here many time mostly for sushi... it is one of my "go to" restaurants. Their Yayoi sushi roll (lobster tempura), the jalapeno roll and the Thai calamari are all delicious!!

Terrible first impression. I had purchased a Groupon for my first visit to Feng. Was greeted by the host who asked if I had a reservation and when I said "no" he offered the bar seating, however we were there for Hibachi. We asked how long the wait was and he replied "10 minutes". A group of 3 came in after us and they were also asked by a different host if they had a reservation and they did not. He also told them "10 minutes". A few minutes later they were called and seated before us. I was shocked because they had come in after us. When I asked the host what happened, he had no explanation and could not seat us anywhere. We were told we'd have to now wait 20 minutes from that point. Extremely frustrated we told them we were leaving. They didn't even try to save face, they just shrugged. Needless to say I was soured by the entire experience and have no interest in attempting a second visit. I will contacting Groupon to get a refund. There are other options in the area of Hibachi and I will seek them out as an alternative.

I've been at Feng many times and I really like it. A little expensive but the food always tastes amazing and all the waiters have been great. The environment is really nice as they have a dinning room, a bar area and hibachi. The Korean calamari and the vegetable fried rice are both a must!!

I was really excited to try Feng Asian Bistro as I've heard so many great things about it. My party of 4 decided to try the Hibachi area. We ordered a sushi appetizer which was a big hit, but our meals were a different story. The soup had absolutely no taste, the rice and veggies tasted good, but were served to us 20 minutes before our meat was and everything was so drenched in sauce it got a little sickening. There is a nice varied drink menu and we all like what we ordered. I had a mango Mai tai- yum!!, but the drink prices are high and the food prices are higher. It was a fun time, the waiter and the grill person are funny and attentive, the atmosphere is clean and modern, but for the prices they charge, there should be more food, less sauce and your meal should be better timed.

My boyfriend and I ventured over to Feng after a recommendation from my boss. The decor is trendy and beautiful, the bar is surely to behold and that kinda set the pace for me. The place had only been open for about a week so I think the service hadn't gone downhill yet as I have read in some of the other reviews here. We sat at the hibachi table and enjoyed a nice meal, relatively priced. My overall experience here was O.K. Nothing spectacular but nothing negative either. I'll definitely gone to the bar several times since December 2010 and have nice cocktails and some sushi every now and then

Found out about this place because they were at the Best Chefs of Worcester Contest held in Mechanics Hall. They won one of the categories...DELICIOUS! Visited the restaurant twice now. The hibachi is entertaining, with the chefs tossing food your way. It was delicious, and substantial when you put the whole meal together (they start w a miso soup). FYI: The miso soup was definitely less substantial at the hibachi, order it when you are seated elsewhere and expect a nice, mushroom-y broth. The sushi is amazing. We sat at the sushi bar and watched the chefs prepare the plates. Again, dinner and entertainment (in a sense). The sushi was fresh and delicate tasting. The waitstaff was very patient and answered each question with great detail. Sign up for the Feng card online and earn points with each order; not sure how this works yet, but willing to give it a try. Definitely a good spot!

I did not sit in the Hibachi section but rather in the regular dining room area with tables and booths.I will say that the environment, decor, and atmosphere was very cool. Lots of space. California-ish. Cool colors in the bar area. Very comfortable. I also found the service to be friendly and timely. Unfortunately the main reason why one would go to a restaurant, the food and drinks, were not so good. I found the restaurant trying to do too much and be all things to every style of Asian cuisine. Andf the result was that they did nothing really well. The "chinese" food was not as good as some cheapo place where you'd get a pupu platter. The dim sun platter was like something from a frozen food section. The Japanese food was bland. And the Thai food was boring and awful. My date had a basil chicken type thing and I tried the pad thai. While neither of us hated our food...We both felt it was average at best and maybe a little cheap or over flavored. We were starving anyway so we ate half. We also decided to get in to the spirit of the place and order the "asian" drinks. my date had a citrus thing and I had a mai tai. These were very very weak and not that tasty. This place was not awful and there were elements of atmosphere and service I liked. But even now as I think back... I asked the waitress if she recommended the pad thai. And I asked her to compare it to something one would get at a Thai restaurant. She said it was just as good and that everyone really liked it. To me I would think anyone that tried their pad thai having experienced even mediocre pad that from a real thai restaurant would never think this was even close. I have had waitresses politely steer me away from dishes quite often...She could have. She did not. And again I understand everyone has different tastes. Perhaps it might have been better if I went to the Hibachi area with a group? I would recommend to the owners that they sort of pick a style. Stick to it. And do it well. Instead of trying to be basically be an Asian TGIF. Go with the hibachi thing and one style of tastefully designed and presented dishes and you will be doing something worthwhile.

I went to Feng while visiting family for the holidays. Didn't think such a cool restaurant would exist in Millbury! Couldn't help but order up several dishes, the edamame was great, nicely seasoned. The scallops were my favorite, very tender, cooked perfectly. The pad thai is also a good choice. Recommend making a reservation (OpenTable worked great!) as when I was leaving there was quite a wait for the hibachi section.

A bit pricey but very tasty food. Happy hour is the way to go here as you will save lots of money. Their sushi is very elaborate and delicious along with their Asian fusion cuisine. I would definitely recommend it.

I went to Feng last night, and was not impressed. Fancy lighting and modern décor cannot mask sub-par sushi. I ordered the sea eel 'sushi' (this is what they call nigiri) which comes 1 piece per order. It was good, but not $6 good. I also ordered the spicy yellowtail maki roll and that is where my problem with this restaurant lies. The roll put together sloppily, I had to hurry it in to my mouth so it wouldn't fall apart. It was not spicy, and the overall flavor of the dish was bland and uninteresting. There was no low sodium soy sauce option on the table, the menu was very limited and way overpriced. The service was ok, but nothing special. I go to Haruki and Tokyo in Providence often and I am always wowed by the flavor and freshness there. I would not recommend this Feng location.

Upon arrival it was standing room only. We were happy to have a reservation (made via Open Table). This restaurant recently opened and this night (3/12/11) was very busy; had to wait a few minutes for some clean glasses to hold the spring water ordered. Our server was a bit overwhelmed and not incredibly attentive, though this may well get better with time and some training. Previous visits have yielded stellar servers. The food was OUTSTANDING, without heavy sauces but full of flavor. There were three of us, allowing for enjoyment of several plates and side dishes; duck spring roll appetizer was a notable standout. The wine list at Feng is a bit lacking. I hope the list grows out a bit. Dessert was delicious!

I was introduced to Hibachi-style cooking several years ago by my husband when we lived in Michigan and I fell in love with it. We haven't had Hibachi-style since we left there five years ago until this past Friday evening when we visited Feng. Based on some other reviews, I called at 5:00 p.m. to request a 6:00 p.m. reservation for four and had no problem. We were bringing my mom and stepdad, who hadn't had Hibachi in over 30 years, so we were all looking forward to it. I have to say that we were not disappointed. Upon arrival, we were seated right away. It started with just the four of us around the grill but after about 10 minutes, we had four others join, making for a full table. The space around the table once full was a little tight but not uncomfortably so. We ordered drinks, including sake for my husband, which I am not a fan of. We all tried some but no one else shared any with him. We ordered our entrees and we each chose a combo-style meal. The Hibachi menu is divided into three choices for your dinner: solos, combos and more higher-end choices such as filet mignon. All four of us ordered some type of combo: shrimp & scallops, chicken and salmon (I love that salmon is an option), steak (strip, I believe) and chicken, and steak and salmon. Each comes with a shrimp appetizer, mushroom soup and white or fried rice. Once the table had ordered, out came our mushroom soup. Very mild, a little bland but fine nonetheless. After a few minutes, our chef arrived. He called himself Yellow Hat as he was wearing, you guessed it, a tall yellow chef hat. He prepared the food with precision and everything was cooked perfectly. He was entertaining, making a few jokes and showing off some skills on the grill. My mom loved it, especially the flaming onion volcano. We were served our rice first, followed by the veggies (carrots, broccoli, squash, mushrooms), appetizer shrimp and then our main dishes. I am one who just keeps piling everything on until the end and then eat it all together but it was difficult to do that with the enticing smells and delicious bites I kept sneaking. Once Yellow Hat left, we all finished up, having a few more drinks. The waiter and busboy were attentive, asking if we wanted refills and quickly clearing plates as we finished. Overall, we had a very positive experience. Having not had Hibachi out here before, I'm not sure about the price but I did find it a little high. We paid, with tip, about $112 for the two of us. We are looking forward to visiting Kyoto and Hirosaki Prime (just opened) both in Worcester to compare.

I've been to lots of hibachi's and this is one of the worst. They have another one in Canton, CT which is great. When you eat the food here you would never know they were the same. The filet was so dry and chewy, the rice dry was flavorless and dry, the hibachi chef was downright BORING. Wouldn't eat it again if it was free. So disappointed. In CT all the Fengs are sooo good. Not sure what happened here.

I went here last night for dinner. I had been excited that a nice trendy place was popping into Blackstone Valley. The place was very nicely done, the lighting and architecture inside is exquisite. It is a little drafty by the hibachi tables, i was cold most of the time. The server, Henry was very nice. A few little mishaps came during the dining experience, but were remedied. My boyfriend started by ordering the kobe beef carpaccio, however they came out and told the other guests at he table something (this something was suppose to be directed to us but we did not hear it- they were saying that they ran out of it). The guy came out again after confirming it was with the other guests-us, and told us, however they were able to make it 5 minutes later? (weird)... a bit of a communication error. Next i ordered sushi- salmon avocado and cream cheese. The rolls come in 6 pieces, and i like mine smaller so I asked for it to be cut into 8 and Henry said it could be done. It came out and was in 6 pieces, a little disappointed again with the communication. For hibachi dinner I ordered the chicken and my boyfriend got the chicken and filet. The mushroom soup was AMAZING! We both got fried rice which was great. Next they started the vegetables and meet. The other guests had ordered 2 lobster meals, however the chef at the hibachi table was only given 1 lobster tail, so he had to go tell them to get 2 more lobster tails, at this point the vegetables were starting to burn. He still served them to us, they were a little more well done then I like my vegetables- they were black on one side :-/. The filet was excellent, my chicken was good also, however the filet was best. The manager had come over when i was eating the sushi and saw i was picking out some of the cream cheese because I don't like too much he asked if everything was ok I said yes, and he said "oh did you not want cream cheese," I replied, "no, i did just i don't like a lot." He said "next time just ask for a little and we can do it." I was impressed with him accommodating guests. It was him also who kept track of small things like making sure the water glasses were full at all times.I was very impressed with that. We did not order dessert, i was a little disappointed they didn't have mochi ice cream balls. The other guests ordered the chocolate chocolate chip cookie, however were told they didn't have it. After they got the bill, the dessert came out (again, communication). Later they were told it was on the house because they weren't charged for it. I wish they gave the other guests at the table (us) a dessert on the house for making that mistake :( .

I don't normally like teppanyaki - it's a bit bland and usually is 'Americanized'. I grew up in Japan so I am picky about Japanese food. I do recognize that this was a Pan-Asian bistro - not a Japanese boutique. Overall, our experience was very good. We did the teppanyaki for my (Irish) husband, and enjoyed both the show and the food. Unlike another reviewer, our chef had no issues tossing both the shrimp and the sake at me. :-) Much to my delight. Service was excellent - we also used a Groupon here and did feel like there was a decline in the service quality. We did, as the Groupon said, make a reservation and were seated immediately. There were definitely a few snafus... my buckwheat noodles were never served and another lady at the table waited 15mins for her second drink... but we were having such a good time, that I am willing to shrug it off. (Good table companions really help with the teppanyaki). So yes, I fully plan on going back and I hope the quality of their Pan-Asian cuisine and the "show" remain high. We don't have enough good Asian restaurants in this area.

We ate at Feng Asian Bistro at Blackstone Village in Millbury at about 8 Wednesday night and there was no wait. Everything about our visit was excellent, including the beautiful decor, our waiter, dish presentation, food quality, cleanliness and prices. There were five in our party and we had the Seared Sashimi Trio (Tuna, Salmon and Yellowtail, each in its own delicious and distinct sauce and garnish) $14; Feng Sashimi Dinner (18 pieces of chef's choice sashimi, which in our case included salmon, yellowtail, striper, white tuna, tuna, "fatty" tuna, in a fantastic presentation in large ice-filled dish that we were compelled to take a picture of!) $26; Chicken Teriyaki $?; Classic "Pad Thai" made with pistachio instead of peanuts $15; California Roll with unagi; and Yamyazaki and Apple Shang-Hai Braised Short Rib, which was delicious $23; Spicy Egg Drop Soup $6. I forget what our exact total was, but it seemed very reasonable for the quality and quantity of food.

Went today for the first time. Had the lettuce cups and the Pad Thai. Both were satisfactory but I've had better elsewhere. Modern decor was nice. Server was fine. Hi William, the best Pad Thai I ever had was a crispy chicken version with lightly breaded chicken instead of plain chicken. Also yours could use more peanuts. Again, I gave you 4 Stars so my visit was enjoyable. I do appreciate your responding as it shows Feng Asian Bistro is in tune with its customers. Be well.

I don't see reason for any negative review here, as I come here usually once a week, and have been served by many different people. I came here last Wednesday, and the bar was packed around 5pm. The bartender made me the perfect martini, yet again. A friend of mine ordered the little devil drink. I tried it, and while I don't prefer mixed drinks, it was very tasty with complex flavors. It definitely wasn't just a strong mai tai like you find it most Asian places. My sushi was great, with fresh vegetables. My friend ordered the Angry Dragon roll, and it was so big he couldn't finish it! This place never disappoints me, and it is by far my favorite place to get drinks up at the mall. I can't wait to try the hibachi.

Well, I've gone back to this place since. The food on the restaurant side has always been awesome! (YAY general tsos chicken and YAY sushi!) But the last time I went to hibachi, my friend and I were TOTALLY put off. We were 2 put with another party of 4. The chef literally only paid attention to the two men who were with the party of 4. All the women got jipped out of rice and vegetables. They were all given to the men! How sexist?!? I'm so happy that I ordered the salmon (something no one else ordered) so that I didn't get jipped out of my meat too. The portions decreased significantly since the other times I had come and the prices were a bit elevated. Needless to say, I'm going to stick to the restaurant side of this place. I have never felt more ignored!

Service was average. Our server was not happy to accommodate our requests. The sushi rolls we started with were alright; our dinners were disappointing and bland. Dessert was the best course and that's not saying much...... Probably won't be back.

The most upscale place to eat in the mall. The jalapeno roll was very creamy and not too spicy, though I would have preferred more heat. The Asian Pear martini was super strong, so I had to add lime to it. Regardless, the flavor of the pear really came through nicely. Altogether it came to $25.45 (without tip) for the roll and martini. Good for a light lunch, but you will have to spend more if you are really hungry or are coming in for dinner.

We come here all the time , however after tonight's visit not sure I will EVER be back! We waiting 15 to sit on a Tuesday night, 15 Mins to order even drinks, 25 mins for a ONE sushi roll ( had to ask 2x for it) and then they didn't start cooking till 45 mins after they sat us!!!! Poor service, waiter seemed inconvenienced! To top it off the chef cooked my husbands filet with ginger all over it , as someone who eats everything plain , he could not stand to eat it nor could I blame him! So I asked the waiter if they were cooking things differently and it was like I was on trial!... I wasn't complaining simply asked a question! Several people Came over and accused my husband of putting ginger all over his filet , are you fucking kidding me????? The other family at the table even told the waiter that the chef served it like that! I was discussed!!! I get sushi take out once a week but I refuse to be a patron to an establishment that treats people like we were treated tonight! Your chicken sucked too!!! Rubber!!! You should probably hire Some management that specializes in customer service because " you put that on there" doesn't fly with this chick!!!!

Sadly, the menu has changed and it seems the chef has changed as well. The menu had become less interesting with more fried dishes and things that for in with a suburban restaurant experience. I was not at all happy with the flavor changes. For example, the lettuce cups had a heavy sauce flavor instead of the lightness that I came to expect. I think it will be a long time before I come back. It is sad. I used to really like it here.

I love sushi. To a point where I will buy it from a market to get a fix if necessary. Feng was disappointing on a few levels. For such an attractive restaurant, why is it in a strip mall with bargain stores and chains? I would think moving this not so far to the few neat downtown streets of Worcester would provide a better atmosphere more apt to the fine dining feeling. Anyway, it wasn't crowded, it was definitely early bird dinner time. My date wanted hibachi and I really am not impressed by having food cooked in front of me, etc. I don't care, I'd rather talk to my companion. We agreed to sit on the restaurant side towards the sushi bar The waiter came over a few times and was sort of irritated we were taking long to select drinks and food. My date ordered one of the drink specials and the waiter had no clue what it was and practically accused him of making it up. Ok.... I ordered a Ginger Martini which was surprisingly sweet, until I took a nibble of the ginger at the bottom of the glass, which was far more potent than the ginger that accompanied my sushi. The rolls were pretty small, and executed a bit sloppily for my tastes. the rice wasn't a nice full layer and the nori seemed extra chewy. The philly roll was made with cucumber instead of avocado, which was disappointing especially since I was pay about $2 more for it than I would everywhere else I have been. I will commend them on their spicy tuna, as it was not laced with siracha mayonnaise and was actually seasoned to be spicy. The seaweed salad we started with was average, but definitely overpriced. For the money spent, I could have gone to my favorite sushi place back home and four of us could have had 2 rolls and soup or salad each and 2 drinks. Seems like a place to make suburbanites feel cultured while getting their pockets picked.

I've been to 2 other Feng/Genza locations, have my rewards cards etc. and this place is by far the worst. My husband and I arrived to eat dinner before a movie next door. We asked to be seated for Hibachi but they were booked for the next few hours so we decided to sit at the bar instead. We ordered a couple of drinks and asked if we could get the Hibachi dinner at the bar, the bartender said "yes" and handed us the menu. The service was fine, nothing to complain about, sushi appetizers were what we expected...until we got our meals. Our completely UNSEASONED, tastes like PAPER meals. Between our meals the chicken, salmon, scallops and noodles all tasted horrible. It was so poorly seasoned the bartender immediately asked if everything was ok ( I could not hide my facial expression). I informed her of the problem and she immediately responded with, "Well, I know they're not going to give you a refund so I don't know what you want me to do." And walked away. I was completely taken a back by her unprofessional response. I immediately went to the hostess, and asked to speak to the manager. 10 minutes later, the manager approached us on the other side of the bar, and asked what the problem was. After I told him the issue, he explained that hibachi at the bar and the "real hibachi" are different, and will never taste the same, They were doing us a favor by letting us order at the bar, and they weren't going to issue a refund for our untouched meals. I was surprised by this and asked him to come over to the other side of the bar to speak with me, more privately, so that we would not be raising our voices in an effort to hear one another all while interrupting patrons meals around us....he refused. So after several minutes of arguing back and forth, and other customers complaining about the level of our discussion, he finally came to our side of the bar, and again refused to give a refund. He even admitted to this happening before, and that it didn't taste the same. Eventually I wore him down and he gave us 50% off. The whole ordeal took 30 minutes! The problem with this place is the management and poor customer service. If you KNOW my food tastes horrible, why even bother to serve it to me? If you know this happens often, why not just restrict hibachi orders to the dining area? And why waste both of our times, when you knew the customer has EVERY reason to be disappointed in her meal. It was unbelievable and I won't go back.

We're here semi-regularly for the happy hour sushi. They have a pretty good sized sushi menu that is heavily discounted for a few hours a day (4pm-6pm maybe?) The sushi is fantastic and I'd also recommend the pot stickers and chicken satay. Pro tip: order then chicken satay first and then use that dipping sauce for everything else. Second pro tip: join their rewards program if you're coming here often and download their app as well. If you're a deal-seeker like us, the happy hour menu + the app + the rewards program + the great food makes this a steal. Every time we build up rewards points on sushi, we spend it on hibachi. The hibachi is good. I know it varies greatly chef-by-chef, but I'm a fan of when they do fun things like throw eggs around, squirt sake in your mouth, etc. Our chefs have been on the low-key end of this spectrum. I prefer more of the circus act end of the spectrum. They come out, they cook your food to order, and then zip off.

Meh. Nothing special. Short take - skip it and head to a local place for takeout. Modern decor with Asian touch is pedestrian at best. Located in one of those "shopping mountains" as my husband likes to call them. We started with the Japanese Beef Dumplings. They were pretty good, but needed something though I'm not sure what. The dipping sauce was fantastic and spicy. My husband had the sushi which he said was good but not mind blowing. I had the Panang Chicken and was underwhelmed. It wasn't as spicy as I would have liked and expected and the giant chunks of tofu are neither elegant in terms of presentation or something I want huge chunks of in a chicken dish. It flat out lacked authenticity and was overpriced. Drinks are strong. One star for that. Crushed Orange Martin Is my pick. Service was excellent. We were greeted by a hostess who made us feel welcome and our waitress was very friendly, attentive, and on top of things. Another star. Honestly, our less modern fluff local take out spot blows Feng right off that shopping mountain it's perched on.

Update: just went back and the food was terrible , nobody was inside as well and felt like the place was going out of business. The sushi rolls were old and the rice was extremely crunchy and old, miso soup was oily and terrible!!!!!!!!!! Our favorite sushi place for the past few 2 years. The bartender is a great girl, waiters are ok and the sushi rolls have the best prices. The best part about is the deck that's open in the summer and makes us want to go there all the time and sit outside in the fresh air. Never too crowded

Came here the other day with family. The place is loud so no problem for people with kids. The bar area is separate and a lot of other families were around too. The wait staff was mehhh, we asked for water without ice it came with ice. The plates to eat or share food never came. The food was really good though. We will come back again may be the waitress was new.

I went to the Feng Asian Bistro two days ago. I had the chicken noodle soup, which was really good. The broth was not really flavorful but the chicken wrapped in the wonton noodles was delicious! I had salmon, tuna and avocado sushi, also very delicious. My friend had the lobster roll and enjoyed it also. This place is a little pricey, I would reccomend for a date or a special meal, not really a good choice for a mid-week dining out experience. I can't speak for other's but when I eat out during the week, I don't want to spend $50.00. Call me cheap! I've given them three stars because of their higher prices. Overall, it was a good dining experience.

There are two sides to this restaurant - Hibachi and regular dining. We went for hibachi and were not particularly impressed. The hibachi area was noisy and the tables are large. If you're lucky you'll be able to converse with the on either aide of you. Not more than that. Our chef's showmanship started out good but seemed to fizzle after a few minutes. He seemed to be executing a script that he wasn't enjoying. The food was ordinary. The seafood (scallops, lobster tail and shrimp) was overcooked. I couldn't tell the lobster from the shrimp. The filet mignon was very good, as were the desserts. This is an expensive restaurant. Expect to spend $50 per person. We won't be back for hibachi, but maybe we'll try the regular restaurant eventually.

I Only eat here for the hibachi which is very good. The service is usually very good as well. If you are shopping at black stone going here for dinner is a no brainer.

Food was okay, not much flavor and was pretty bland. They have weird sushi so you can't expect to get a dragon or sushi roll. It was pretty expensive and they charged gratuity for just two people which I thought was weird. Would not go back to this place.

I'm a fan of the entire Ginza restaurant family and this is no exception. I have been to this location twice (I don't live nearby, but I have a friend who does) and received excellent service. The hibachi area gets packed on weekends and while I enjoy hibachi food, I'm not a big fan of the seating arrangement/showmanship part. I like that at Feng, you can you can order hibachi from a table in the restaurant area - but I believe you can only do this on weeknights. I also enjoy the sushi and main dishes. I have never had a bad meal there!

I had been here about a dozen or so times before but this most recent trip last week just didn't seem as great. It might have just been my mood at the time but after eating here I had wished we had gone to the place next door instead. Between me and my date we got 3 hand rolls and 2 pieces of sushi. The fish tasted good and the portion size was decent, but we just felt the rolls didn't satisfy our taste buds this time. I'll go there again but I'll be hesitant about more subsequent trips instead opting for something else in the plaza or driving farther away for better sushi.

My friend, myself, and my little sister (8 year old) had dinner here on Saturday evening. I asked for a children's menu and was told they did not have one. The hostess then said she could give me the hibachi menu and we could order a child size. The waiter then told me that if I did order a child hibachi it did not come with any sides and would just be a slab of meat. He then came back and said I could not order a child hibachi meal but could order an adult meal for her, such as chicken teriyaki from the non-hibachi menu. If you are familiar with this area, there are a large number of families that frequent this plaza. There were at least 5 other parties with children that we could see from our table. It's unfortunate that children are not made welcome here. In the end, I ordered her the shrimp tempura which she enjoyed. She also had the fried ice cream. We've had this dessert at other restaurants. It's come out nice and crisp topped off with chocolate sauce, whipped cream, and a cherry. No so here. It came out flaming, more than likely due to the help of some alcohol. There was a burnt smell. I let her eat the inside, which is where the ice cream is. After our dinner, we went to the nearby movie theater and watched a movie. She complained of having a stomach ache. On our walk to the car, she got sick and vomited. Something in her meal had been off. My friend and I had sushi rolls. We both felt fine.

When this restaurant first opened, my wife and I frequented it often. We loved to stop in, eat sushi and always felt that the service was wonderful. Fast forward to our last three experience and it has been anything BUT wonderful. My wife went with a friend that was hearing impaired and the waitress was VERY disrespectful to her friend asking her what does she want and just generally being rude and impatient. The waitress then demanded a larger tip that 10% following my wife to confront them about it (she did the math wrong as my wife left more than 10%). We decided to give it a third try, where the waiter my wife and I got was again, very rude, impatient and didn't care about what we wanted as soon as we said we didn't want anything alcoholic to drink. I'm aware that that is where restaurants make a lot of their money - but that doesn't mean to push their drinks on a person and then not care about them when they say no again. Our orders were sloppily made and then the waiter never came back until the end of the meal. The third (and final time) we came back to the restaurant - shame on myself but I was hoping third time was the charm (as we have over 2,500 points there) was the last time. The waiter seated us and then left. We looked over the menus, and when he came back we went to order and the waiter said they had no sushi. No sushi? Really? It was nice for them to let us know, AFTER sitting there for 10 minutes deciding what we wanted. Even the other waitresses there were amazed that he hadn't said anything. I'm sorry to say, but due to service, lack of caring from everyone we will not be going back to this restaurant. *** Some time later, I received an email from "Enrique here from Ginza Corp, operator of Feng Asian Bistro." He wrote to me asking for a number to be supplied, in which I did. It has been 5 months since then and I was never contacted. ***

Japanese McDonalds..use to go there, won't be going back. Don't go there to relax, very rushed at the cooking tables, boxing the food taking people's plates before they are finished with their meal. Management very obnoxious, we had a birthday party there (9) of us, charged a $2 dollar plate fee for a cake my Aunt brought. My aunt didn't realize there was a fee to bring the cake in, evidently they notated the reservation that they told her, whether or not they did, who knows the point is you don't sit there and haggle $12 over a misunderstanding. Kim the man at the front desk ended up taking the fee off after he and his hostess argued with me. I told Kim on the way out its not good to make your guests feel unwelcome and you (and your staff) she never get hostile with guests especially over 12 bucks. He continued to argue with my aunt my mom and myself on the way out. Who continues to argue with their gusts on their way out ? Tasteless! There are so many great Japanese / Teppanyaki places around here I'm going to tell everyone that I know not to give agent in Millbury their business. Who continues to argue with customers over a silly $2 plate rule? Not smart. That's not how you earn repeat business.

I came here during my six year anniversary with my girlfriend. My girlfriend wanted to eat sushi so I decided to give this place a go. I ordered my usual go to drink (makers on the rocks) this place did a decent pour. Ordered a seaweed salad to start and a few makis. Seaweed Salad was alright. You can't really go wrong with it usually get it from a box or bag. If they added some more sesame seeds be a little better. I tried the spicy hamachi which was pretty good same as any other place. The sake skin maki was meh, felt like there was scales on it maybe better if they left some of the meat. They probably cut it off and bake it for another maki. I order a special maki from them forgot what it was called.I think it was a Fire It Up or something. I actually really liked it. Dessert was some chocolate cake with some ice cream. I liked the presentation girlfriend loved it. Overall this place was OK. I would like the try the Hibachi next time and rate that. The reason why i gave this place 4 Stars is because our server was really good. He did a recommendation, pretty attentive and funny. I think his name was Paul.

My husband and I dined at Feng Asian Bistro last Friday night. The place was busy. We were greeted and seated immediately. I must say that I like that the bar, hibachi, and dining areas are sectioned off. I think it helps to control the noise level, which is notable for us since my husband is hearing impaired. The food was delicious. We ordered a couple of main dishes and sushi. A bit pricey, but I think you get what you pay for. Service was excellent. Our waitress was attentive and the manager helpful.

Excellent food and prices! Drinks are very affordable and well made. Downside is the hibachi side is a little small - tight seating. Chefs are personable and interactive, overall a pleasant experience!

Haven't been to Feng in sometime and only because we haven't been in the area. My wife had some shopping to do so I went to Feng for a drink. Sat outside with the waitress not acknowledging me for nearly 30 minutes. My drink came 15 minutes later right when my wife was arriving. Waitress again went Mia and why did I still give the 4 stars? The food was still excellent and out shined the poor service. Will go back again but sit inside!

This is our third time at Feng for dinner at 7pm. Service was good. Atmosphere inside was nice, but very loud. I had Sam Octoberfest for a drink, was priced well. For apps, we had the beef dumpling, was ok, nothing special. We also ordered the duck spring roll, there was no duck, tasted like a cabbage fried roll. I would not recommend this if you were expecting to see a duck in there. Main course, we ordered the sushi and sashimi combo, reasonable price, typical dish, but I did have fish scales in two of the sushi pieces. We also ordered the Angry dragon roll, nothing angry about it. It was a shrimp tempura dressed up with sashimi rolled up with a sweet sauce. Did not do dessert, the ANGRY dragon roll was sweet enough. Not sure if I would make a point to go back again, so many sushi restaurants everywhere else.

I found myself at home for a few days and back at Feng once again as a middle meeting ground for food. We went on a Wednesday night around 8:30 and the restaurant was not nearly as busy as it was when I came on a Friday. We seated right away, although seated right next to two ladies having a girls night out. With all that space they had to seat us right on top of them?! We started with the Chef's Medley Dragon Rib, Crab Rangoon, Beef and Chicken Satay. Which I was told was very good. It was served with three different sauces, one was a Chinese mustard, another a spicy like mayo and the third just some duck sauce. For entrees, I had a red curry dish with tofu, shrimp and vegetables. It was nicely prepared but could have used more sauce. Three people got the cod dish with asparagus and this green curry sauce. The sauce was outstanding. There was also grilled broc and cauliflower in the dish as well, topped nicely with the sauce. I was told the fish skin could have been a removed as it made it a little tough. Another entree was a special of the day, which when he received it he wasn't too pleased to see the bones in! The other entree was the ribs, a full rack of them! Everyone was ohhing and awwing over these bad boys, so they must be good. We got sides of two veggies and the miso glazed eggplant. Since they didn't have the right sauce to sauteed the veggies in, they just gave us stemmed, broc, carrots, and pods instead. Free on the house. The miso eggplant is still a big winner in my book!

I ordered the spicy egg drop soup and basil chicken for takeout. I moved from NYC in January and was really surprised that this was more expensive than most asian restaurants there. The soup was not spicy and had no flavor at all. The chicken was disgusting. It reminded me of buying really cheap chicken thighs on sale at the grocery store. It was inedible. I paid almost $25 for white rice. So disappointing.

Feng's was recommended to me by a friend, so we decided to check it out last night. We called on our way there to make a reservation for 8:45 on Saturday night, and we had no problem getting in as soon as we got there. Service was a little slow, considering we had two waiters and a hibachi chef, but they were all friendly. The bar service at the hibachi grill left a little to be desired -- they kept forgetting the fruit for our drinks. After we placed drink and food orders, we received the mushroom soup that came with the hibachi meals. I would have preferred miso, but the soup was warm and light, without much taste though. We all had to wait several minutes for the waiter to bring us soup spoons, which he didn't notice were missing until he came over and inquired how the soup was, and we were all sitting there staring at it. Our chef came to the table and confirmed our orders. He did the usual, minimum hibachi entertainment but added shots of sake when you caught food he flipped into your mouth. I'm a hibachi fan, and I wasn't overly impressed with the antics, but it was ok. The food was delicious and well-cooked, which was the standout of the night. Also, the prices were very reasonable for a hibachi grill. I ordered the sirloin and scallop combo, which also came with a shrimp appetizer, fried rice and grilled vegetables. All were excellent. If you're willing to shell out $5 extra, the filet steak was definitely more tender and flavorful than the sirloin. Drinks were a little on the pricey side, but they were strong, so it evens out. I would definitely go back to Feng's over Oki's, which is our usual, local hibachi restaurant. Feng's was less crowded and expensive, and the food was just as good, if not better. I'd love to try the sushi next time. I have to say that Oki's was more entertaining.

I've ventured to this restaurant many a time since it opened relatively recently. It sticks out like a sore thumb in the Millbury Shopping Plaza, among your Red Robins and Applebees. I have never had a bad experience here. More than that, I cannot recall a time that I haven't been extremely impressed by this restaurant. I usually sit in the dining room, occasionally I will partake in hibachi. Their sushi menu is varied and ornate, and every roll is presented in an artful manner. Oh, and it's always delicious. Their drinks are perfect and not as expensive as most places of this caliber. I usually start with a seaweed salad and although it is probably the simplest item on the menu, even it is above par. The service - amazing. Friendly and attentive staff give Feng the edge. I always feel that they go above and beyond. The hibachi is okay (I've never been a fan in general) but it surpasses past experiences in terms of quality and entertainment. In one word: visit. You will not be disappointed.

Skipped Hibachi because the wait was an hour and a half on a Saturday night, but was really surprised at how good the food was. Short ribs were deeeeelicious. Also got a flight of saki which was pretty good except for the coconut flavored one. Pretty much something for everyone on the menu, even picky brothers like mine who got the app which was basically bee teriyaki, chicken, crab rangoons and ribs. Dim sum app left a lot to be desired. I'll leave those to San Francisco and Boston's Chinatown from now on. Really pricey, but overall the food was better than expected.

Hello, where have you been? I had never ventured to the Blackstone Mall until a few weeks ago when I tried this restaurant with my lil brother. I was pleasantly surprised by the sleek and clean decor, friendly staff, awesome bar, and even more awesome rolls. After Yama zakura in Northborough, this is the next best sushi I've had in the Worcester area. It's $$, but totally worth it. I also have to recommend their spicy egg drop soup - - it's one reason to go back! Fried calamari, also delicious - - crispy and lightly tossed in a sweet/spicy sauce.

Finally cashed in my Groupon this Friday at Feng. It's nice inside, but nothing really special. January... not exactly the busiest time for restaurants, even on weekends, and we found the place mostly empty. For some reason, the waiter seated us directly next to a couple of girls out for drinks. It was a little uncomfortable for both parties, because we had my six month old niece along. With all those empty tables, they could have given us a little more breathing room. We tried the "aged miso soup." I am not so sure about this idea of aged miso. Isn't miso always "aged" because it's fermented soy? Anyway, at $6 a bowl, they do give you a big serving but I found it to be nothing special. It had a lot of mushrooms in it, which I like. I found myself wishing it was a little saltier. The sushi- and presentation- was nice, but not remarkable. Somehow a Philadelphia roll turned into a sweet yam roll by the time it arrived at our table. That was an interesting.... surprise. Our waiter was somewhat scarce, and I decided not to say anything about it. The restaurant is spacious, the bathrooms are nice and clean and new looking. I took a peek at the hibachi side, too. There were a few families laughing at the chef's antics. Bottom line: Feng is not bad, but there's no real reason to eat here unless you are already at Blackstone Valley.

Wow, there are some really mixed reviews on here. My boyfriend and I went to Feng last night before a movie. It was a spur of the moment thing, so I hadn't checked out any reviews online. I wish I had done that first! We were seated right away, which was great. We opted for the dining room over the hibachi or bar/lounge area. The drinks weren't too badly priced, pretty average. And they were good. I got a raspberry colada & boyfriend got a beer (I forget which kind). The waitress was friendly enough. Atmosphere was nice. Everything was going well until our food arrived. We got sweet potato tempura as an appetizer, that was mehhh. I ordered teriyaki chicken (easy enough, right?!). I barely ate any of it... the chicken had a very strange texture. It was extremely rubbery. My boyfriend tried it and joked that maybe it wasn't even chicken at all.... and the sauce was not teriyaki. Tasted like a mix of lemon grass and sweet 'n sour sauce. Weird.... My boyfriend ordered the "Roasted & Crispy Sea Water Soaked Pineapple Basil Chicken." The chicken consisted of two tiny thighs--the menu doesn't indicate whether this dish is boneless or not. It was overcooked and very, very dry. Awful. These 2 dishes were overpriced for what they were. Maybe if we sat at a hibachi table or ordered some sushi, it would've been better. Who knows. Never going back here though.

They changed their menu AGAIN! This time they made it to be like any other asian restaurant. There are no more "bistro" like meals. The food is still good, but not as upscale and trendy as the last menu was. They did add a lot of "no raw seafood" sushi. We tried a few rolls done with a cucumber wrapper and they were all great. They now have 3 different flavors of scorpion bowl that are a great value and delicious. They come in super tall glasses though and are hard to drink for shorter people without standing up or leaning over the table. If you're a couple, get the sampler of apps. It is the perfect size for two and everything is great on it.

I came here after a bit of shopping and was pleasantly surprised. I only tried some starters but the entrees looked delicious( Entree prices ranging from $17-28). It's not your average Asian restaurant. Aside from entrees they also offer an array of sushi and hibachi. The spicy egg drop soup is amazing. I also had the Chef's Medley and it was sooo good ( dragon rib, crab rangoon, beef and chicken Satay) it came with two of each. I'll defiantly be coming back here to try their hibachi and some sushi!

We went for lunch on a cold, rainy winter day. The ambiance is modern Asian. Sure beats the places in NH, that's for sure! The Japanese lunch box was 9$ and included a bowl of soup, 4 pieces of a California roll, vegetable tempura, rice, salad, and little dumpling things. Every bit of my meal was delicious! Well worth the price. The staff was very attentive. I hope to go back again and again!

My husband and I were able to take a sudden trip out without our 2 year old and found ourselves at Feng in Millbury, MA. The wait was only about 25 minutes and they offered to call when our seat was ready! We wandered down to Game Stop for a bit then back to the restaurant. About 10 mins after we were back in the restaurant, my husband's phone rang. They were able to seat us in the "lounge." The waitress, Liz, was awesome! Very personable yet not too hovering. My husband ordered the Chicken Pad Thai and I got the Yaki Soba with Chicken. We ordered some sushi to share: Fluke sashimi and a Feng Roll. Everything was WONDERFUL! The fluke is not something that is found in our usual sushi place. The roll had so much fish in it, it was wonderful. It didn't require any wasabi or soy sauce or anything! It's rare to find a restaurant these days that will pour you a glass of water almost as soon as you sit down, but here they did! The service was quick (hot food was out in a very short amount of time and sushi followed maybe 5-10 minutes later). The decor was nice. Walls throughout don't make the place feel small because they have "holes" in them. My only complaint is (and maybe it was because we were sitting in the bar area) that the music was not only too loud but I felt like I was eating in a dance club. I will DEFINITELY go back there. All in all, tip included, we spent about $66.

I've been here four times now. I had a sampler of crab rangoons, beef teryiaki, and chicken fingers. It was good tasting, but small portions for the price. On the other hand, I"ve had a few Zombies here and they have been AMAZING. Tip - don't drink before you have lunch. :) The bartenders have been very friendly, and I've only drank and eaten at the bar here. Great ambiance, you wouldn't think you'd find this in a shopping plaza or Millbury. Highly recommend it!

It seems tepanyaki places are popping up all over the place all of a sudden. This is one that you can skip and not be missing out on anything great. The food was decent, but over priced. I usually find tepanyaki food to be just average anyway and mostly taste the same (lots of soy sauce). This place was no different. The duck egg roll app was disappointing. It was very expensive for what it was. I could not tell there was any duck in it at all. I was worried my scallops were going to be overcook as the chef left them on the grill and they were the very last thing to be served. To his credit though they were perfectly cooked and tender. The chef did the standard tricks and was entertaining and good with our kids. There was nothing special here, but he also did not disappoint. The one complaint (if you even want to call it that) was that he only seemed to cater to the men in the group. When he tossed food into our mouths he only did it for the men and when he shot saki into our mouths again it was only for the guys. He completely left the women out. I thought the temp in the restaurant was fine, but my wife and daughter were freezing and had to wear their coats the whole time. We had a fun time, but I would not go back here again. It is too expensive for what it is.

HIM: I've been to a few Hibachi grills and I was pretty satisfied with Feng. We sat at a Hibachi grill with mixed company which is expected if your not in a group. Sometimes, being mixed in with complete strangers is a show in itself, I guess you just need to be in the mood for it. Being a Friday night, it was loud and busy which was expected. The food was very fresh. The food seemed to be a little more quality than other Hibachi grills that i have been to. I was very pleased with how everything tasted. A little on the pricey side compared to other Hibachi grills, especially when you are comparing prices with the neighboring Unos, Apple Bees and Red Robin. The Plus: The only place I've been to where they shoot 4 shots of Sake in your mouth if you participate in the table food toss, even if you don't catch the Zucchini. I also felt that the chefs were a little more skilled and humorous than others i have seen. They were friendly and had some new and impressive moves at the table. What I like about this place is the atmosphere. When you walk in and get settled, you forget your in Milbury and I feel that this plaza needed a place like this.

We were greeted by this guy in a bright citrusy orange jacket. He inquired whether we had a reservation, and when we said we didn't... he did this thing with his face, like, hhmmmm, ooooh, geee, I don't know if I can get you in, but I'll give it a shot... why don't you go ahead hurry up and wait... I don't dig it. My days of having to be cool for the guy holding the key to my admission to the hot spot are over, I'm afraid, and I wasn't impressed by his orange jacket. You're in a minimall, in Millbury. Relax. The food was good, though. The sushi was fresh, and the drinks were tasty, and the waitress was friendly, and they were really nice to my baby, even when I let him sit ON the table (the only to entertain the little monster). The decor is all fancy loungey, again, odd for a minimall locale, but it made me nostalgic for the city. The food saves this place. I will return. Hopefully, the orange guy will have had an attitude adjustment.

The wait staff is so friendly and extremely helpful. Every sushi suggestion they made was great and the sushi was fabulous. Also the prices are great compared to going into Worcester or especially Boston. Also it always seems very easy to get seated. I would highly recommend this place.

Great atmosphere; friendly, helpful, and prompt service. No problem getting a seat at 7 pm on a Saturday night. Edamame was cooked to perfection. I ordered one of the special rolls ("Spicy 2 in one") and wasn't all that psyched about it - it was made up of a lot of layers of ground ingredients rather than whole chunks of fish or vegetable, so it had a sort of mealy consistency overall. I would go for the more standard sushi offerings next time. I would definitely recommend Feng if you are in the burbs but you want to feel like you're in the city.

Genuinely high quality sushi. I ordered the sushi-sashimi combo and the portion was good sized and the chef's choice roll with it was spicy tuna avocodo and it was execellently prepared. Decor isn't bad, just average (so who goes to a Japanese restaurant for the decor anyway). Service excellent, friendly atmosphere as well. Drinks were good sized (we notice things like this). My only minor gripe: no soup or salad with entrees, even expensive ones. But still five stars. A bit of a drive but we'll be back!

AWFUL! DON'T WASTE YOUR MONEY OR YOUR TIME!!! My husband and I were looking forward to a nice night out, and we both left hungry because we couldn't finish our meals and had headaches from the noise. It was a crowded night, but we were seated immediately at a high-top table right next to the bar. The bar was overrun with a bunch of very loud, drunken idiots who kept screaming at each other over the very loud music and were treating the place like a sports bar. At one point they started shoving each other and I was nearly elbowed in the face and a waitress almost had a tray of food knocked out of her hands. The noise level was so high that my husband and I could not carry on a conversation across the table. The service was okay, and our waitress returned to the table several times to check on us, but not once were our water glasses refilled even after we asked. The food actually came out too quickly - we were served our soups and then our dinner entrees arrived a few minutes later, and the table was too small to hold all of the dishes. The food was terrible. Some highlights: I ordered a glass of white sake sangria. The drink itself was okay, but there was no fruit garnish at all. One of my favorite things about a glass of sangria is eating the fruit garnish at the end. For $9, they could have at least thrown in an orange slice or two. The sweet potato tempura sushi was probably the best part of the meal, but the pieces of sushi were way too big to eat in one bite. Since there's no graceful way to cut sushi into pieces, I either had to shove a huge piece in my mouth all at once, or nibble at it while trying to keep it together with my chopsticks. The miso soup was mediocre. The menu promised "exotic mushrooms," and the bowl contained a handful of sliced button mushrooms. Hardly exotic, and for twice the price I'd pay for a bowl of miso soup at most other restaurants it wasn't worth it. The yakisoba noodles with vegetables were hardly edible. The portion was decently sized, but the noodles were incredibly bland, even with some soy sauce stirred in. The only vegetables included were some chopped scallions and a few slices of onion. We couldn't get out of there quickly enough. What a disappointment.

Not your typical asian cuisine in a mall. Feng is as good as good sushi gets when it comes to atmosphere, price and presentation of the dishes. I'm a big fan of a la carte sushi ordering and they have an excellent selection of popular items and signature rolls. I've never tried the hibachi as I prefer the lighter dishes without the butter and grease but I hear from other patrons they put on a good show. The prices are well within reason compared to the other places in the area. I recommend this as a good 50dollar a couple night out without the kids.

I am a sushi fanatic and the sushi was delicious here. Very creative rolls but a little bit overpriced in my opinion. The sushi were plated very nicely. I wished they combined some of our sushi orders onto one plate. The server brought out 4 large plates which didn't fit at our small two-person table. Not a big deal though.. I was disappointed with the Korean Style Calamari appetizer. They weren't bad. But for $10, the portion was very small and the calamaris were tiny. I've had better elsewhere.

My husband and I loved this place. We stopped in for an early dinner while shopping (around 5 pm). We sat at a booth, not the hibachi. We ordered sushi. We had the dim sum appetizer which was pretty great. The spring rolls were delicious, my husband loved the pork things (I don't eat pork) and we both loved the lobster dumplings and shrimp shumai. I've never had shrimp shumai but now I could eat an entire meal of it. We each ordered a simple roll and a specialty roll. The simple rolls came out together first, california and spicy tuna. We each ate our pieces just in time for the specialty rolls to come to the table. They were incredible. We each said "Oh, my god" as we tried the first piece and we each made the other try what we ordered. We split a tempura ice cream for dessert. The bring it out on fire which I love. The service was great. Our server was Charlie and he was very attentive and had great recommendations. The only problem I had was that he recommended the most expensive items on the menu and simply asked if we'd like him to bring out a seaweed salad with our rolls. We said sure and later saw it was $6 added to our bill. Not the end of the world, it was good, but pretty small for six bucks and I don't really like a server that pushes only expensive items so that 15% of the total is that much more. We still tipped him our usual 25%. (We always tip high. We tip up to 50% for fantastic service/food and at times have even tipped 100% for an unforgettable experience.) All of the servers we saw (and hosts) were dressed in black dress shirts and black dress slacks. I appreciate that kind of thing but we were in regular lazy shopping clothes so I kind of felt like the waiters were dressed more nicely than we were in our T-shirts, jeans and hoodies. Also, there didn't seem to be a coat-check or even those hooks outside the booths so we had to put our jackets beside us. Other than that, the ambience was very classy.

This place rules. Excellent sushi (love the sweet potato rolls!) and excellent service--the waiter remember my drink from only having come in once before! No cons about this place, fast, attentive service every time. Love.

Good quality sushi, but a bit expensive. I guess that's the way sushi goes. The inside is really nice - very modern and welcoming. The food itself is really good. I like the duck spring rolls for an appetizer and the hamachi yellowtail. Also tried the spicy salmon roll, which was ok. I wasn't crazy about the texture of the roll...it seems that they minced the salmon and this wasn't very appealing to me. They also offer habachi food - which can be good for groups. The habachi area was busy and it seemed like everyone was enjoying themselves. All together, a good option for the Shoppes at Blackstone. We will probably be back if we are craving sushi and are in the area.

Went here recently for Sushi and drinks. The ambiance of the place was great, but the food was not very impressive. We ordered a martini and sangria. The drinks were great, small menu though. Went it came to the sushi, the number of rolls available is small... And we ordered a $16 lobster sushi roll and got only 4 pieces?!?! The price for the value is poor. Not saying this is a bad restaurant, but there are many other sushi places I'd go to first.

I was really expecting more. Our experience may have been marred by the fact that it was very cold inside the restaurant, or jitters from a new staff. But, unfortunately, as much as I wanted to like this place, I can't recommend it right now over other options in the area. We were seated promptly in the teppenyaki area, but it was so frigid that my kids had to keep their coats on. It eventually warmed up, but only after we complained, and the manager fiddled with the A/C controls. The sushi was just OK, and was priced a bit high. What kind of surprised me is that, unlike other (most?) sushi restaurants I've visited, the price for sushi is per PIECE, not for 2 pieces. Also, their sushi selection was surprisingly limited: no hokkigai, no murugai (I can forgive them for this, but it's one of my favorites). The tako and unagi pieces were acceptable, but I wasn't blown away. The sushi and the rolls were ordered at the same time, but came out separately - 2 minutes or so apart. They weren't all that busy, and I know that getting sushi to the customer ASAP is valued, but I would have liked to see it all delivered at the same time. The real problem, though, was that they didn't give us soy sauce saucers, and the soy sauce container was on the other side of the table (not two or more, placed conveniently). I had to get my own saucers to mix my wasabi. Yes, I know it's not "correct", but that's the way I like it. Anyway, on with the review. We only ordered a couple of rolls, and they were... just OK. Prices were reasonable here: $6 for a Spicy Tuna Roll, $5 for a California Roll. I wasn't in the mood for Uni, so didn't even ask if they had any. I did note that there was no quail egg addition option, which I sometimes like. Maybe next time, if there is a next time. The sake was good. We ordered it hot, and it was served hot. Nothing to complain about here. The Teppenyaki combinations were fine. I had the scallops, and I have to admit that they were cooked very nicely. My wife's steak was good, but not spectacular. The vegetables were good. All of the Teppenyaki entrees come with some grilled shrimp, and these were pretty good. I thought the kids' plates and drinks were slightly overpriced (ex. $12 for the kids' shrimp plate, when other restaurants charge $8 for the same plate.) The chef was good, and fun. He had the kids laughing, which my wife and I appreciated. His "tricks" were standard fare: fire at the start, "volcano" too, and flipping food into people's mouths. We didn't order dessert, but were served some anyway (probably due to my displeasure at the temperature at the beginning). The raspberry crepe pie was very good; my kids shared a chocolate chip cookie concoction, and enjoyed it. So, I guess in closing, our experience was marred by some easily correctable issues, which will hopefully be corrected once the place has been in business longer. For now, as mentioned, there are other, better options right now. I sincerely hope that Feng rectifies these issues, as the location really can't be beat for us. We'll likely wait awhile before trying them again, though.

Good food but it's expensive for what it is. The sushi is decent but not as good as Baba.

Checked out a relatively new place today for lunch! I wasn't even sure if they had sushi since it said asian bistro. I walked into the really large restaurant and didn't seen any waitstaff so I looked around and proceed toward the sushi bar in the rear of the restaurant. There were a few of the sushi chefs that smile and said hello as I took my chair. It took quite a while before anyone came over to me, when they did they poured me a glass of water and started to walk away , I quickly asked for a menu. Now I was confused, I had grabbed a takeout menu on the way in to see their sushi listings and there was a whole section of Nigiri sushi (a la carte) for the choosing, however when the waiter finally brought me the menu it had lunch specials and other offerings but NO Nigiri, only Maki and Specialty rolls. That is a little confusing. After a few more minutes another waiter came over to ask if I knew what I would like wherein I asked where the a la carte offerings were. "Oh those are in the dinner menu", he said. I'm not sure why they would only include that in the dinner menu and not the lunch but ok. He FINALLY brought the dinner menu and pointed out that they had Toro today. Nice! Their special rolls seemed a little bit pricey, I mean minimum of $12 to $15 for a specialty roll, and nothing piqued my interest. Here is an example: Feng Chef Roll (Salmon, Yellowtail, Tuna, Masago, Radish Sprouts, Asparagus, Avocado, Spicy Mayo and BBQ Eel Sauce) - $15 I picked a few normal rolls off their special which was 2 rolls (maki) and a miso soup for $9. Well that's not bad I thought. However, the Nigiri is a different story, I didn't realize that it was per piece, not per 2 pieces like most sushi places I've been to. Now that isn't bad until you look at what you pay for what you get. I took a tobiko (flying fish roe) $3, an anago (sea eel) $5, and toro (tuna belly) $10! That means a normal nigiro order of two would have cost me $10 for anago! The tuna belly was listed as MP (market price). I didn't ask although I probably should have! I've had toro before for maybe $14 for two and that is what I was expecting. Anyway on to the food.... I ordered a tuna maki, yellow tail maki and the above 3 pieces of nigiri. The rolls were quickly made and you could tell, the rolls weren't staying together very well and there was something about the nori (seaweed) that I can't put my finger on but it seemed rather chewy. I've never noticed that with any other rolls at any other restaurants I've been too. The fish itself tasted very fresh however! I saved the 3 nigiri for last, the anago was delectable with a great eel sauce, the tobiko, sweet and popped in my mouth, and the toro was exquisite, such a fresh , clean taste for the palate, I wanted more. Glad I didn't though for the price!!! The decor inside the restaurant is tastefully done, very modern, very clean. There was some background music playing which wasn't too loud and relaxed you as you ate, the waitstaff seemed overly friendly and came back a few times to ask how everything was, although there was still noone at the front door when I left as well. There is a whole other eating area as well plus Hibachi. I don't have any information about that but the lunch crowd was filling there for their show. Overall I liked the food, the selection wasn't terrible, although 3 things I asked for on the menu they didn't have. The price is what gets me! I do sushi reviews at : outforushi.com
