Tasty Gourmet is closed forever. This is a horrible loss for the greater Boston sandwich community.

I came to know Tasty Gourmet during their twilight years. I never ordered delivery, I always brought my kids, they never wore gloves, I never got sick. Heartburn, maybe. But that's 'cause I always made a point of getting the onion rings, which were above average. And that goes for the rest of the food: chicken parm, turkey club, whatever. They were always welcoming, in that grungy, begrudging Boston suburbs way. Not exactly the eulogy we'd all want, but I am sure that if we had met when we were both younger, this would be a glowing five stars.

The food is lackluster, and a bit pricy for what you get. I was also not impressed with the upkeep of the shop, the walls, floors, and most other things were covered in food splatters or grime. The guys behind the counter were friendly, but they messed up the one very important request that I had. I cannot eat chilled deli meat due to a medical condition that puts me highly at risk for food poisoning. I ordered a roast beef sandwich, but specifically said that I absolutely needed the meat piping hot because of my medical condition. The gent who took my order said no problem, and I sat down to wait (ours was the only order going in at the time). After a while, I got my sandwich, and when I went to bite into it, the meat was still chilly on the inside. The guy was more than willing to take my beef and fry it up on the grill, but I'm not impressed when you can't address the medical needs of your only customer you're serving. One star for food, ambiance, and messing up an important order, plus one more star for at least being friendly about it.

The bedazzling mystique of a $7.50 bag lunch wears down quickly, especially when you're told it no longer includes Dr. Brown's sodas, and if you're there within a half hour of opening, you can't get hot sandwiches. The Italian still sports sliced-to-order meats, but everything for toppings is a few flimsy shreds of iceberg, pickles and hots. All loaded on top of the meat pocket, which guarantees drippage to the nth degree. Hey, at least the bread stays (too?) dry. The LevelUp hardware is also chronically out of order. At least they rarely smile!

Got the Black Angus roast beef on a toasted baguette, which is one of their new choices: AMAZING. I love this place.

Living across the street from Tasty, we ate there a lot, and I mean a lot. The sandwiches certainly live up to the name. Piled high with meat, cheese, sauce, and all sorts of good stuff, you really can't go wrong. You can certainly make two meals out of them as well, since they are huge. And the fries are always great as long as they aren't soggy. Sure, the food is horribly unhealthy for you, but who cares when you're a college student. It can get pretty busy as it is a popular spot for Tufts students, but it's worth the wait. Breakfast is great too, and the breakfast sandwich is a steal at less then $3 (cheaper and better then Dunkin' Donuts!). A Tasty's sandwich is a very good sandwich.

This place is a deli-heaven. Amazing sandwiches and sides!! Soooo good. Try their Larry Bird sandwich, as well as their amazing seasoned fries and onion rings. Pure heaven, enough said.

What's not to like about Tasty Gourmet? You can get any number of great sandwiches along with a drink and a delicious side for under $9. The quality is remarkably consistent and the guy behind the counter, who I presume is the owner, is very friendly. My favorite combination is the spicy turkey sandwich, which is at least semi-healthy, along with a side of mac salad. You also can't go wrong with the Larry Bird Melt or the Sun Dried Tomato Chicken. The seasoned fries are ridiculously good if you're not counting calories (think a really good batch of Popeyes' fries). My only issue is the waiting times. It usually takes 10 minutes or so to prepare any of the sandwiches, if not longer. Calling ahead is recommended.

BEST. SANDWICHES. EVER. The menu is huge, and everything on it is amazing. My standby is the Spicy Turkey and I can't recommend it highly enough. All sandwiches are pressed panini-style, and all come with a side of your choice (mac salad, potato salad, mac and cheese, seasoned fries). Breakfast is also very good. Never had a bad meal here.

A solid deli in an otherwise sparse college neighborhood. I'm a big fan of their tuna and chicken chipotle sandwiches. Their burgers are good, but Boston Burger isn't too far away when the weather is good or a bus to Davis can be found. May not have the cheeriest people at the counter, but if my food is prepared well, fast, and tastes good, I'm okay with that.

There is nothing more delicious then a lunch/dinner of Tasty Gourment. It can be a bit greasy but it's easy to be in the mood for it. I love the seasoned fries! And the tuna melt is sinfully delicious. As are the cookies. I miss this place since it isn't really T accessible and I no longer live a two minute walk away. I wonder if I could convince them to deliver to the North End...

Pretty good, but nothing to go out of your way for. I think this place gets a lot of good reviews but there is much better in Medford. Boston Ave may be weak for food so I can understand why it is overrated, but I would venture to other parts of the city to get food.

The angus roast beef sandwich is awesome, as was the Turkey Bravo. Make sure you aren't in a hurry because your sandwich is made with care. This is one of those old-school places where they will make WHATEVER you want. I went in and asked for a roast beef sandwich and their response was: "well, we can put roast beef on anything" Definitely get the seasoned fries! Kick back with a soda from the cooler and watch a little TV while you wait for your sandwich.

Menu is vast. Food is usually pretty good. They do better with the more interesting sandwhiches compared to a grilled chicken. They also have breakfeast and AMAZING cupcakes! The guy that runs the place is a little moody somdays he is nice as can be and other days he does not even want to take you order. Defintely a good alternative to you average sandwhich shop in the neighborhood!

A board full of sandwich choices, a glass case full of side salads, a fridge stocked with Dr. Brown's, and a platter of huge chocolate chip cookies: that is the recipe for A Happy Deli. OK, I'm a bit prejudiced--I worked there one summer and had a blast. But if you want a Boar's Head deli meat laden sandwich mixed n matched according to your choice of bread and toppings, this is where you'll be right at home. Great breakfasts as well, and you're almost guaranteed to go home with leftovers!

rating purely on a quick sandwich shop scale, this place is great! yummy subs and cool combinations, fresh deli meats, great fries and a good selection of sodas. super close to tufts so its limited seating is always filled with college kids trying to escape dewick or carm (the cafeterias). cheerful workers and inexpensive, too. i wish i still had one down the street!

Great sandwich shop. I like the Tuscan chicken, & they have a version of the bacon turkey bravo. Four stars because the food is always quite tasty, and the choice of sides is varied and also good.

I am a new member, and quickly proud card carrier, of the Tasty Gourmet fan club. How have I missed the delicious sandwiches at this place all these years? I consider this a definite perk of dating a Tufts alumn...getting the in to all the local favs. A side of mac and cheese for an extra 50 cents? Worth every cheesy gooey penny! For 2 sandwiches with sodas it was about $10-$15 so it's a bit expensive for a quick lunch served on a paper plate. The chicken ceaser was a little bit of heaven and the larry bird was an angel as well. Warm mac and cheese side was just as good as the cold mac salad. Sandwiches are gigantic so bring your appetite! Such a great find!!

You can't go wrong with their sandwiches, I think everyone's conveyed that enough. There's a lot to choose from, easy to get overwhelmed, so just close your eyes and pick, you'll be satisfied. But I wanted to talk about their breakfast. The country breakfast. Eggs, buscuits, white country gravy, virginia ham I think, some kind of ham steak ham, I think there was toast and/or home fries, don't really remember, my bad. So ridiculously good. I'm not sure where these guys are from, but I know they're not from the south, at least not from the American South, but hot damn, that was the best country breakfast I've had ever, and I'm from the south, and I wasn't hungover. I think that was the first time she's ever served it because she came out to ask us how it was and mumbled something about how nobody's ever ordered it before. highly recommended!!

Ordered from them for the first time tonight - had the Steakhouse Roast Beef sandwich. My wife had the Italian Combo. Both sandwiches were excellent. I don't usually order roast beef from a new place because you can get some nasty stuff if it's not a quality place, but no worries here. We'll be adding Tasty into the rotation, even though they substituted a cookie for the cupcake we ordered. They took off the charge though. They should probably remove it from their GrubHub menu though since they don't have them anymore.

Absolutely terrible service, which is a shame because the food is good, when it's not cold. The first time I had food delivered, the food arrived 45 minutes later than scheduled, and this was on a Monday. I decided to give them another chance because, as I said, the food is good! This time, my salad arrived without the toppings I had ordered. It was also placed upside-down in the delivery bag, causing it to fall out everywhere when I opened the bag. When I called to address the issue, I mentioned the upside-down salad container, and the person I spoke with hung up on me! When I called back, they said they would send only the toppings I had ordered, no salad. When I requested a new salad, I was told the other would have to go back to the delivery driver. Enjoy dealing with my greek salad spilled all over the bag it came in, Tasty Gourmet! I will never order from them again.

So many TASTY sandwiches and pizzas... Now that I've moved away, I miss a particular pizza--was it the Urban Cowboy? Well, whatever, it's a wonderfully greasy pizza crust, chicken, bacon, red onions, and white sauce. It's good hot, it's good cold, it's good all the time. I'm gonna try to replicate this at home tonight, but I have a feeling I will fail. Miserably. And if I recall correctly, Tasty (as it was so fondly called) doesn't take credit cards.

Tasty Gourmet makes the best sandwiches in the Boston area, as far as I'm concerned. Breakfast is excellent as well. I used to eat here all the time when I was at Tufts, and even now, I make special trips out there from Allston once in a while. There's a huge selection of great sandwiches to choose from, and I've never had a bad one. I've always especially loved the Larry Bird Melt. For Breakfast, I suggest the Super Cinnamon Swirl - Excellent cinnamon french toast, served with eggs, bacon AND sausage. Not exactly "guilt-free" but, you won't care, because it's so good. Can't recommend it highly enough.

I had a craving for a great sandwich the other day. My husband and I decided to check out the Tasty Gourmet. Normally I don't order an Italian sub just cuz after the first couple of bites all the meat starts to gross me out. However I ended up eating the WHOLE sandwich. Bread was great, the meat was thinly sliced and fresh. I wish they offered an Eggplant Parmigiana sandwich .... hopefully in the future. Great place!!

The Tasty Gourmet has the kind of sandwiches I used to buy at neighborhood delis in NYC when I was in college in the '70s. Not the 2nd Ave Deli/Katz's kind of place, but the kind of neighborhood market that used to be on every corner in NYC, and is now replaced by Korean markets. If you don't want pastrami or corned beef (alas I don't think they have tongue or chopped liver) you can choose from a wide variety of sandwiches, including great burgers. I went there for lunch today and had a patty melt. This is what I used to like to get when I was young at a Woolworth's lunch counter. There are two burgers on this, indeed, tasty sandwich and grilled onions and cheese. They ask you how you want your burger cooked, and it is accurate. After ordering at the counter they bring your food to your table. Macaroni salad is my favorite side, and it's also exactly as I recall from delis. There's also a garlic dill pickle spear. They carry Dr. Brown's Black Cherry and Cream soda, but not Cel-Ray. After all, this is not NYC, and we don't expect it to be. The people who work there seem to be family, and they treat YOU like family, which means, a bit offhand but they still like you. The "dad" makes you punch your own frequent-sandwich-eater card, which I can deal with because it means he starts working on my sandwich that much sooner. The "mom" smiles a lot. The "daughter" seems to remember who everyone is. This is at lunchtime. There might be another crew at other hours. Hours are extensive. When I am there at lunch "Who Wants to Be a Millionaire" is on TV. I don't usually like TVs in restaurants, but it's okay here. I answer all the questions in my head, and think, "I should be on this show." Then they ask a question about a Faith Hill song, and I realize I will never be on this show and win a million dollars. The place is always full of students, and contractors visiting the superb Hillside Hardware just up the street. But that's another review (the hardware store, I mean). PS They have breakfasts which sound good but I have never eaten. They have a few tables, inside & out. But don't count on being able to sit.

One of my favorite lunch places because it's so close to Tufts and home, and they have huge, well-made sandwiches. I've had breakfast here several times and sometimes it's touch and go. I've either had great greasy spoon-style breakfast, or other times i've had overcooked sausage. Fortunately, bad food happens less often than not and i continue going back.

I've been here for sandwiches a few times since I live really close now, and it's really good! Their sandwiches are, indeed, tasty, and there are plenty of combinations to choose from. You can choose from the most vegetarian to the most carnivorous of foods, from the healthiest to the most guilty and greasy. I can't wait to stumble down here for a greasy hungover breakfast sometime. Get ready, Tasty Gourmet.

A great place to roll in wearing a hoody and sweats on a Sunday afternoon needing to rehydrate and replenish. The sandwich combos seem scary at first but are completely worth it to explore. For me, I was obsessed with the tomato, mozzarella and pesto sandwich one week, only to find a new love in the Larry Bird a month later. Make sure you go outside your comfortable choice once in a while to really experience what this place has to offer. One thing I wouldn't stray from, however, are the seasoned fries as a side dish. That is a staple that must be obeyed whenever ordering one of their huge sandwiches. Finally, leftovers are a welcome discovery in your fridge during the week when you don't feel like trudging to the dining halls.

This definitely isn't your standard deli and I certainly wouldn't consider this food "gourmet" quality but overall its a really great little place - especially for college students. They have some really great and originally sandwiches and wraps... Some of my favorites include: the "Love Me Tender", the spicy buffalo chicken melt, the "Larry Bird", the tuna cheddar melt, and the sundried tomato chicken sandwich. They also have some stellar seasoned fries... some of the best I've ever had! The problme with this place is that its so small. If you dine in it is often very hard to find a place to sit. They also take a really long time to get your food together. Their delivery also usually takes about an hour... so if you're hungry I definitely recommend calling ahead and getting your to-go.

I've had sandwiches here three times. The people are really nice and the quality of the food is above average. They don't just throw your plate or sandwich together--they do a nice job. My sandwiches with more ingredients have been better than my simple roast beef sandwich "special", which mostly tasted like onion roll and BBQ sauce, and nothing like seasoned roast beef. The beef was tender but very light on flavor. The sweet potato fries are really good. The little dining room is a bit cramped but still a nice place to sit.

Tasty? Yup. Gourmet? Nope. Actually, they should just go ahead and rename this place Hangover Heaven. Sidle up to the counter, and you'll be greeted by a huge menu board lined with every type of sandwich that was created for the specific purpose of making you feel human again. Wraps, burgers (in every animal and vegetable form), melts, subs, your cure comes in a myriad of varieties, all paired with your choice of side. Crunchy, melty, chewy, salty, it's like a Taco Bell commercial, but with food that is actually palatable. An extra buck will get you spicy fries, and let me tell you fellow imbibers, the extra dollar is worth it. Gulp down a half of one of these creations (and trust me, a half will do. You don't want to spend the rest of the day in agony), scarf a few fries, wash it all down with a beverage, and you'll feel better faster than you can say Supercalifragilous Expialidocious. Or, yum. PS. They deliver. Breakfast. What?!

I might be a little biased, because I currently live right across the street, but I'm a big Tasty's fan. Big, fat sandwiches anyway you want them. And the guy who serves them has a mysterious playboy bunny tattoo on his wrist (has anyone ever asked about that?) Think about calling ahead during weekday lunches, because they can get busy with takeout orders going to offices. Also, their breakfast is decent for the price, and with none of the waits some of the other nearby restaurants.

Teddie C.
The food has always been good every time I've been here. Not fantastic, but good. The prices are good if you get a special, like the 7.50 bag lunch. However, I have to give a bad review because the service is AWFUL. There have been times I've been in here and have seen a couple of people line up and get completely ignored. Like, the employees clearly knew they were there but did not acknowledge them whatsoever. And never dare to ask a question about the menu unless you want to be treated like you're an absolute idiot. Also, the main man I always see (maybe the owner) making sandwiches never wears gloves and touches his face/head while preparing food. Yuck!

Worst service ever. Waited 2 hours for a sandwich to be delivered. Called multiple times, people were rude. Food is ok, but not worth that hassle!

Tasty Gourmet. Honestly, this is a pretty sad little joint. The location leaves a lot to be desired, but most Tufts students like myself have limited off campus dining options. The food here is actually not too bad- some options which are decent include the lunch sandwich sets, as well as the turkey options. There is also a decently priced fried fish option, even though the fish isn't fantastic. The biggest problem with tasty gourmet doesn't stem from the food, but the service and general maintainence of the store. They regularly run out of items and are constantly understocked, meaning they generally won't have the item you're trying to order. The people who run the store are not great either. While they're not flat out rude, they don't really extend good manners to their customers, and cook food pretty slowly. I saw some people further down saying they were fun conversationalists, but I've never experienced this. The shop is also almost always closed, as the owners often just choose not to come into work. Wish I could rate it higher due to the food, but this place is below average.

If you like waiting over an hour and a half for your delivery, and a delivery guy that laughs about sending the wrong drink, this is the place to order from. I'm not one to complain as i understand that things happen, but every time i order from this place they take well over an hour and always screw something up. Edit: Bumping up to 2 stars because they do have delicious food (when you get all of it). Not giving up hope that they'll get their act together just yet.
(2)
Alexandra M.
Here now, the owner told us it's his last week in business, they're selling the store because it's empty when college students aren't in town. 16 years of business and he's closing up shop.

This is my favorite place to get a sandwich on Boston Ave (there are many options!). They have free peanuts in the shell, which is so cool. They employees have usually been pretty nice. I'm giving it 3 stars because when I walked in at 3 PM, the only employee in the store was asleep in his chair behind the counter. And not just dozing- this dude was out cold. Needless to say I decided to eat elsewhere.
(3)
Tamar A.
Are you the kind of person who enjoys irritable gentlemen bare-handing fixings into your sandwich? Do you like getting glared at if you're not quite sure yet what you want to order but plainly aren't in line, so watch it with the pressure? Do you like sandwiches bigger than your face, mayo-drenched sides, and a menu comprised of about a zillion different ethoi? Are you a Tufts student? If you answered "no" to one or more of these questions, go elsewhere.
(2)
Melissa J.
The delivery people are useless. After waiting for an hour and a half for my food, he called to say he can't get here to deliver it. Granted, Somerville Ave is closed today but it's not the ONLY way to get to my house. Do you have a GPS? Maybe one of those old-fashioned map things? I know you have a cell phone to call for directions, which I probably could have given you if you didn't just say, "Road's closed, I'm not coming." Maybe you could have called a half hour ago, so I wasn't starving by the time I had to make other arrangements. It's too bad because the food's good. But don't offer delivery service if your drivers are too dumb to find the locations

Just ordered from here on Grubhub for delivery, and wish I hadn't. The main attraction for me was the Cuban Panini, I'm always on the lookout for a great Cubano, if you are as well, KEEP LOOKING! To call yourself "Tasty Gourmet" and use frozen breakfast sausage patties instead of what you claim on your menu is roasted pork tenderloin is an insult to the culinary industry. I have been a chef for 22 years and don't like to post bad reviews because I know how it makes hardworking food service people feel, but this sandwich shows me you just don't care, and it's a bit disappointing because, although the sandwich was terrible, there was also a great deal of promise in it, and if it were made properly, it may have been great, and you may have gained a very loyal customer. The biggest issues with the sandwich were #1 no roasted pork tenderloin as stated on your menu, instead it was layered with frozen breakfast sausage patties (gross, they went in the garbage), and #2 NO PICKLES??? The pickles and the pork are the two main ingredients in a Cubano, you state on your menu it has thick cut dill pickles, but they were nowhere to be found. The positives about the sandwich, which show promise #1 Despite wrong and missing ingredients, the sandwich was well put together, just do not call it a Cuban. #2 The bread was fresh and perfect for the type of sandwich. #3 The ham was delicious, and had the perfect amount, for what ended up being my ham and swiss sandwich. #4 Perfect amount of dijon and chipotle aioli. If this sandwich had roast pork instead of sausage, and had the pickles this would have been a 4 or 5 star review, but that sausage says to me you just don't care anymore, and lost your passion. As for everything else, the delivery girl was very pleasant, delivery was here in the timeframe I was given (a little over an hour), the rest of the order was right, got a cookie for my niece (she hasn't eaten it yet, so no review on that, but it's huge). And the coleslaw was very good. Maybe in the future I'll give them another chance, and update the review accordingly.

Food is good but DO NOT GET DELIVERY FROM THESE GUYS. Took an hour and a half to arrive, the sandwich was lukewarm and they didn't bother to include the onion rings I asked for. Waiting to see whether I am going to be receiving a refund for those, but the manager I spoke with was not in any way apologetic or gracious on the phone, so I'm not optimistic. It's a shame because I've liked their food in the past. Maybe a totally different experience as a walk-in, but I won't be giving them anymore of my money.

I've ordered from then several times, always via delivery. The delivery is about as fast as anywhere in the area (I'm near Union Square), and the food has been consistent and tasty and the prices reasonable. They've always been friendly, and the menu has a wide range of things to try that I'm slowly working through. I keep coming back, so should you.

It may have been a bad day, but when I was there, an angry man was at the counter, preparing food without gloves on, making a mess out of everything. I was with a friend who says that the place isn't always like that, but I sure as heck had a horrific experience...

I have ordered from this place a few times. Pretty much have to say the same as everyone else who reviewed this place: VERY delicious, but service wise, it can be meh, at times. The old looking guy who is usually there can be a bit on the arrogant side, at times. One time I came in literally the minute they closed (not to my knowledge that it had closed) but the door was still open and I went in. For 5 minutes, I was standing there and the old guy finally "noticed" me and made a smart aleck-like remark about the fact that I came in when they have closed. But he was kind enough to still make me my sandwich. I can understand why people complain over the fact that he doesn't wear gloves while preparing the food, but I don't mind it. And one time when I ordered delivery, they gave me the wrong order. Overall, service isn't great, but adequate and the food is definitely worth a try.

Hey Jerks!!! QUIT THE COMPLAINING! 1. WATCH THE FOOD NETWORK! IF YOU HAVE AN ISSUE WITH GLOVES. No one wears gloves when they prep the 'gourmet' food that is presented on any or every show!. PLUS i still can't find a better sandwich place than this !! Al's is boringly plain, like a Subway. Sam LaGrassa's is so overrated and generic, i can make each sandwich and side myself! Who cares the If the guy here has 'tude it means he can back up the product! So, as a Tuftonian, still living in Boston, I make a 30 min trek for a sandwich, don't dis this place!

Oh Tasty Gourmet. How it breaks my heart to give you one star. The sandwiches are absolutely delicious, however this is the 2nd time in a row my husband and I have had an absolutely awful experience calling in very simple sandwich orders. It's hard to give more than 1 star when you can't actually get the delicious sandwiches. 2 weeks ago when my husband called in an order around 6:00pm, the woman who answered the phone told him that "the people who know how to make the sandwiches aren't here right now." Seriously? You are a sandwich shop. If that was true, why even bother to be open/answer the phone? Also, how hard is it to LEARN how to make the sandwiches? We gave them the benefit of the doubt that maybe it was a fluke or they were just having an off night and tried to order again tonight. I called in an order, spoke to a woman who needed me to repeat my order a couple of times, and was then told that our order would be delivered in 45 minutes to an hour. Okay, no big deal, maybe she was new, and maybe they were busy (it was 6:45). An hour and a half later, still no sandwiches. I called back, spoke to a really nice guy, who told me my order never came through/was processed. I told him I spoke to a woman on the phone, and he then calls back to (presumably) the woman I spoke to. I hear their conversation, and she tells him she wrote the order down...that was all she did. My guess, this is the same woman my husband spoke to and she failed to pass the order on to "the people who make the sandwiches". The nice guy told me that "due to how busy we were, your order got lost, I'm sorry. Do you still want it?" I said no, and that it clearly wasn't due to them being busy, it was due to human error and one of their employees being an idiot. We're officially done dealing with this place. Now we're motivated to make the trip up to Burlington to get delicious sandwiches from Potbelly's more often. I guess there is always a bright side.

Been meaning to try this place from the reviews I've read. After going to Hillside Hardware (plug for them) I walked next door. Overwhelmed by all of the sandwiches and then all of the sides they offer with said sandwich I asked the older man behind the counter (owner?) to surprise me. Very happy with his decision. Only two things that were wrong. One was the macaroni salad was had too much mayo and not enough green olives but that is a personal preference of mine. Two was I didn't ask him what concoction he actually gave me. lol... From what I can see and taste it is a spicy turkey club panini with onions, lettuce and cheese. Bonus points for the onions being grilled and not raw and the panini bread grill marks very noticeable which means it was grilled all of the way through. I couldn't decipher what type of cheese it was but it was yummy none the less. Definitely will give it another try next time I'm in the area. Boars Head Products used. MORE BONUS POINTS!

If you don't appreciate Ralph, I don't even want to know you. It's a gourmet deli, not fine dining or a therapy session. And if you expect to get treated like a bestie after a coupla years of visits, well, then refer back to my first sentence. I've been going here since the first month they opened back in 1997...or was it early 1998...About seven years in, I started getting full-on smiles and (fully merited) snarky (but not at all icky - if you're a woman, I'm guessing you know what I'm talking about - which is what completely solidifies my opinion about the service here - they focus on making great product, not on monkey dances) comments about my addiction to their ranch dressing...which made me smile, But before then, I'd had a few thousand take away breakfasts, eaten at dawn on the Memorial Steps, and sandwiches & sides, enjoyed in all sorts of moods and circumstances. And every damn one of them was delicious. So, to you pansy-ass jackhats complaining about not wearing gloves: please return to your bubbles. That is not DPH food service code. And it's a waste of latex / nitrile / plastic, if you clean your hands regularly and don't cross contaminate. I'd really rather someone keep a clean kitchen and work clean (as they do), than that they just act like wearing gloves fixes much of anything. (Side note: I have a sensitive stomach - never once in 14+ years, did I have any sort of food poisoning or adverse reaction after eating here.) This place is fa-ba-las, as is Ralph. I'd rather have him making my sandwich perfectly, every single time, than some smiley faced goon sizing up my jiggly bits.

The food here is great. I've had a couple of their paninis and wraps. However, their delivery time is absurd. On multiple occasions its taken me over an hour to get my food. Even when my order is not during a peak lunch hour, I have experienced incredible wait times. If you want some great food I would definitely recommend, but if you're hungry go elsewhere. By the time you get your food it won't matter how good it is.

Ordered a meatball sub for delivery; meatballs were cold and one clearly hadn't been given enough time to thaw. Used to love this place but can't justify going back again.

I've been going to Tasty Gourmet since attending Tufts just nearby. I have never been disappointed with a meal. I usually go for a simple turkey club with fries and because it's awesome I pretty much get it there every single time. The guys working there are always pleasant and chatty, which I like. Plus when I went there for the first time a few months back after moving back to the area - I noticed they now have peanuts available while you wait for your food. Score - I love free stuff. ;) I have only had delivery a couple times, but you do have to make sure you are in there delivery area before placing an order. I am right on the cusp of where they deliver so sometimes I felt delivery took longer than necessary. BUT, food was always nice and warm when it arrived.

I have been to Tasty Gourmet twice in the 4 years I have lived nearby. The first time I wasn't paying much attention. I got a sandwich (which I pre-ordered via Grub Hub for pick up). It was delicious and a good value. The second time (late April 2013) I noticed something that didn't sit well with me and in the end, I was angry with myself for not speaking up. As stated in other reviews, most of the folks working there do not wear gloves when they prepare your food. This may not be a big deal if you saw a lot of hand washing. However, last night I watched as my boyfriend handed a $20- bill to the same man who touched the cash register, took money out of the till and returned it (with his hands) to my boyfriend to make change. He then went straight to the task of making an (our) order. He handled all the ingredients that went into my boyfriend's sandwich and my salad, with the very same hands he touched the money and cash register with. WITHOUT having washed his hands first. I also watched as he used the same rag over and over to wipe the cutting board, knife, parts of the sandwich (?) and other surfaces behind the counter. There were a total of 4 folks behind the counter preparing various orders. Only one of them was wearing a glove. (on one hand, not both) I never saw anyone wash their hands. (and trust me, I was watching like a hawk!) There could be a sink out back...but I also didn't see anyone go back there in my 20 minute visit. I don't know...I could talk about how there was a TV airing some gossip show blasting at top volume and how obnoxious that was. Or how the table we sat at was so wobbly my water was splashing inside it's cup and over the edges of it. BUT what I really want to talk about is how unsanitary this place FELT to me. it doesn't 'look' unsanitary at first glance. All you have to do is watch the behavior of the food preparers and it all becomes very clear, however. I would eat at Tasty Gourmet at last once per week because of their creative menu, good prices and proximity to my house. BUT I lost my appetite when I watched what was happening behind the counter. Back to why I was mad at myself....I wished I'd asked for our food preparer to put some gloves on and remake our order. Or that I asked for our money back. Instead I went home and washed the leaves of the lettuce in my salad by hand, one by one. My boyfriend ate half his sandwich before he realized he was too grossed out to really enjoy it. $15- wasted because I was too much of a wuss to say something. That's annoying! So, now you know....consider yourself warned. (if you care about such things that is) On the positive side, for those not put off by unsanitary food prep...the man who helped us and prepared our sandwiches (he may have been the owner) was very nice. He offered suggestions when we were indecisive and was very accommodating overall.

Is the owner and the staff a bit crusty? Well, yes, they are. But after visiting almost daily for about a month, I just found it to be part of the Tasty Gourmet's charm. Also, they warm up a bit if you frequent the place - chat about the weather, news, Sox, etc. The food, though, is great and extremely reasonably priced. I went so often while I was working down the street, I think I've had nearly everything on the menu. It's all good. I mean, it's sandwiches people, so don't get too excited... But as far as sandwiches go, they're top notch. In fact, when our office moved to Medford Square, we'd skip the 10 restaurant options nearby and once in a while make the drive to go back to TG. (That's saying something as we're all pretty lazy about food.) The Reuben's real good.

Disappointed. We walked by here the other day and it looked awesome. Called for delivery tonight. Guy on the phone was nice, but didn't know what was on their menu or if they had any of it. It was like he had never taken an order before and ordering took forever. He kept having to ask another guy about everything. They were out of 3/4 of what we wanted to order that was listed on the menu so we kept having to come up with a second or third choice. I guess this happens with a huge menu? I don't know. It seemed strange (we don't have rolls, or the soup we just told you we had, or the turkey that is listed as a weekend special and highlighted on the menu...) and they weren't apologetic. They kind of seemed annoyed that we were somehow ordering wrong? I don't know, the whole thing was weird. We ended up not even ordering in the end.

Sure, the guy never wears gloves when making your sandwich, but if you can move past that you'll be in sandwich heaven. There are SO MANY options, and I have never had a bad sandwich. The portions are massive and everything tastes ridiculously fresh. I'm always skeptical of places that have 500 things on the menu, but this place makes it work. They also have an array of side options and bread choices, but I'd stick with the seasoned fries and the recommended bread pairings. Also: cheap. If you live nearby, def go there! Often!
I am a long time Medford resident and have always loved the food from tasty which is why I am giving this review 2 stars rather than just 1, but the lack of customer service I received today was one of the worst I have ever experienced. I have worked in the service industry for years and understand that dealing with different people day in and day out can be tiring, and I also know that food places get busy and things may take awhile. Their lack of politeness is what is killing them. All I ordered was a salad and fries for delivery (down the street) and after an hour and 15mins I called to check the status. The older man who answered the phone. in a very monotone voice says. "And you're wondering where it is?" I say yes and he says again very rudely, "It has already left the building" I said ok, and he hangs up. Would it kill you to apologize and say sorry it is taking so long, I'm sure it will be there shortly? Again, I know the food industry is tough, but when I finally received my food almost 2hrs later the delivery guy (who surprisingly was VERY apologetic) told the receptionist "I'm surprised she still wants the food." Well clearly it is lunch time and I'm at work hungry with nothing else to eat, so of course I had no choice but to wait. Suspecting that my food would be ice cold, the fries were actually very warm and not the least bit soggy. Which makes me think to believe that after I got off the phone with the angry man that they realized, oh crap we forgot about this order, and quickly made it. Aside from this experience, my fellow employees order from tasty frequently, but a couple months back when placing orders for coworkers and clients visiting, we were told multiple times that their credit card machine was down and had to pay in cash. BUT one day clients that came in who can't accept us to pay for them, nor can they pay in cash, when telling whoever at tasty that they had to pay by card, this was somehow ok? I suggest you hire more delivery people or people to work your line, as well as maybe smile a few times the world isn't THAT bad.

I have gone to Tasty several times, but this time I was very disappointed with my sandwich. Ok, I did ask for a veggie sub which was translated to a veggie sandwich, but I never thought that meant tomato, a fat leaf of lettuce, cheese and cucumber. It wasn't toasted or melted and just plain tasteless. But, for all the good times, my next time is debatable. Maybe, I'll just order my regular tuna melt.

Great food. TERRIBLE delivery. Never ever ever again will I get delivery from this place. I have 3 times now and even though they say 45 minutes, it has always taken at least 2 hours.

THE BEST FRENCH FRIES IN BOSTON. The regular ones are good. The spiced ones are also amazing. It's a mood thing. I go here just for fries. And I've noticed that if you get them to go, they give you more. I don't know why, but I'm pretty sure. but yes, the french fries. N.B. They don't take cards, which they really should change. I don't know why they would do that. Sometimes I have to pass by it, just because I don't have any cash on me. TASTY'S, YOU'RE LOSING BUSINESS THAT WAY!!! PLEASE TAKE CARDS! FOR YOU, NOT FOR ME. I LOVE YOU.

GREAT sandwiches, but unfortunately only so-so service. I can't bring myself to give them five stars because of their so-so service, but I can't bring myself to give them three stars because of their delicious sandwiches. I've been going to Tasty's since the first week I got to Tufts. My Tufts Wilderness Orientation Leaders (TWO) leaders brought me here on the first day here when lunch wasn't provided for the program. Since that first bite of seasoned fries, it has been an interesting evolution eating at the place/ The food is all-around amazing. Think of any sort of hankering you might have and they've got the answer. I like the: Larry Bird melt, Italian on Ciabatta, Whitey Bulger. Love me Tender. They have a very well kept deli dining area and also deliver. Its aways nice to catch a football game or a game show on their large screen television. I'm not giving Tasty five stars though because of their inconsistent customer service. Tastys can range from a three or a five star depending on who you deal with and what sort of mood they are in. As a customer who has regularly been going to Tasty's, I would expect that they would recognize me by now. But, sadly, its the same kind of curt, transactional relationship that might be expected at a national grocery store. Ralph (the owner) has only shown one ounce of good customer service in the summer that I was here doing classes. He introduced himself and gave me a fist bump. Two years later, I honestly would have expected many more fist bumps, but it sadly has not happened. There have been many instances where I've felt like I was mocked by them over the counter. Not cool, Ralph. The newer workers seem okay and Ralph's wife is very nice. Fun fact: Deli-icious in Davis is run by Ralph's son.

This place is bizarrely good. Kind of out of the way, but the food is great and the customer service is choice. The guys that are there on Saturday really make you feel at home.

I got a pretty basic roast beef sandwich the other day (baguette, roast beef, lettuce, tomato, mustard) and it really wasn't great. I had to pick out some hard and inedible pieces of roast beef out of my sandwich and there really wasn't that much beef to begin with. The guy who made my sandwich didn't crack a smile but he was nice otherwise.

A solid go-to for tasty panini's and toasted sandwiches. They have an extensive menu that can match anybody's craving and they all are great culinary combinations. I particularly enjoy the pastrami rueben and the tuna melt. I have a complaint about their fries. They are delicious. However, whenever I order for pick up, they always end up soggy. This is because the steam and heat from the sandwich are contained in the styrofoam container and essentially steam the fries. Maybe they should get new containers that have air holes on one side for the fries. How long ago did they stop punching cards for their free sandwich promotion? I definitely have a couple lying around somewhere... Anyways, this is a great place to go for lunch and if you're not sure what you want. Everything's good.

A little overpriced for my turkey melt. No one was using gloves to make the food! Bare hands! And the guy making it was grumpy. Food is good though.

Stopped in for an early dinner Free parking is plentiful in front of the store. The menu is huge so it can be a bit overwhelming. Smoke House Mesquite Turkey on Three Cheese Bread $7.39 Smoked turkey, smoked bacon, smoked cheddar and Dijon wasabi mustard. Bread was a thick and chewy foccacia. Not was I was expecting but ok. Turkey was delicious. Cant go wrong with Boar's Head. Bacon was bad, very bad. Thin, slimy, almost looked raw. GROSS. Maybe its just me? but I like my bacon crispy. I think this bacon is the precooked kind. I prefer fresh ingredients please. Dijon wasabi mustard: Is that what that stuff was dripping out of my sandwich? mustard overload. I wouldnt have guessed it was mustard actually. Taste like a cheese sauce of some sort. And I thought wasabi was spicy? No spice here. The price is a bit high but the sandwich was large and it is Boar's Head meat. Id gladly pay the $7.39 (why $7.39 BTW? why not $7.25 or $7.50? odd) anyway, Id gladly pay the $7.39 for a damn good sandwich. Would I get the sandwich again? Not for $7.39, I wont. The menu is quite large and the reviews are great so I will be coming back to give it another try. PS. they do have breakfast also which I didnt see on their online menu.

HELLO breakfast/brunch/sandwich/burger/lunch/heaven. I am SO glad this place is located in my neighborhood. Its great and affordable. You can come here a hundred times and still not have tried everything on the menu. They have so much to offer its insane. This is one of the very few places I will order sandwiches from, as I am not a big fan, so that's saying a lot right there. Perfect reubens, awesome turkey clubs, A+ burgers. I'm really picky when it comes to breakfast food, but when I don't feel like making the trek to ball square or waiting in line, I tend to come here (or Lighthouse Cafe on High St.). This place was 100% made for the hungover Tufts student. Food can be a bit greasy, but obviously in a good way. And, it lacks places to sit (good thing I live close). Tasty's makes me extremely grateful I live so close to a college campus.

I will be honest right from the beginning. I'm giving this place five stars on behalf of my boyfriend who loves this place. I'm a vegan, so the only sandwich I eat here is a veggie one where I take off the cheese. The veggies are pretty fresh, though, and the people here are friendly. This was the first place I ate when I came up to these here parts, when I was a vegetarian, and I think it was okay, then, but that was two and a half years ago, so I don't really remember.

I went to Tufts for four years, and this place being right down the street, I can't believe I didn't find out about it until senior year. Don't get fooled by the close proximity to a college. Tufts dining halls are amazing, and students still make the trip to Tasty's. Nowadays, I still go quite a bit out of my way to eat here. The name describes it perfectly. Great for any meal. As far as breakfast goes, the omelets are huge for the price, and the shredded home fries are top notch. For lunch and dinner, there are a ton of sandwiches on the menu (and about 50 more that are only available by request). The potato salad is out of this world, the seasoned fries are addicting, the prices are reasonable, and the tuna cheddar melt is 100% the best I've ever had. The key: chili dijon dressing. Who knew? Now, I've read a couple of reviews complaining about the service. I admit, I've never been during peak lunch hour, but let me just say this. One time, I ordered a tuna melt to go. Got back to my place and found two of them in the container. I realized it was because they ever so slightly overcooked the bread on the first one. I've gotten free cookies when there's a slightly longer than normal wait time, and I've gotten extra home fries just because the place is quiet. Sounds like good service to me.

This place has really bad service. The people who work there are dirty and rude never again will I eat there or order food from this place again I think the owners name is Ralph he was wicked rude to me the first time I went there. Please people take this as a warning and try to avoid this place at all costs.

I want to like this place but my order was just plain wrong. I ordered the NY combo and it seems to be missing the coleslaw. My lady ordered the veggie sandwich and it is missing the sprouts. It's a lettuce sandwich. Delivery was prompt but I would have preferred if they took their time to put all of the ingredients promised on our meals.

So after a year, I give this place another chance, primarily because my wife likes the food. This is really besides the point, though, because I like the food too. I just don't like the bs you have to wade through to get it. So what has changed? NOTHING. Same rude staff, who leave you standing there for a long while before they deign to speak to you. Its too small to eat there, too many people per square foot, jammed in. How can a place with such consistenty awful customer service be that popular? Is the food THAT good? Today's tale of suck comes courtesy of another restaurant patron. We came in, I put my keys and Kindle on the only free able, and then four people came in after us and asked for the table since they had four people and we were only two. Excuse me? You want the ONLY table instead of us? What? Between this foolishness and the fact that we had now been standing at the counter for more than five minutes while the two idiots behind the counter walked past 20 times without saying anything, I gave up. My advice, as a year ago, is go next door to Helen's. The food is unremarkable there, but ultimately your blood pressure will be decidedly lower.

No Sandwich for You. My work was buzzing about the good sandwiches from Tasty Gourmet. They had dropped off their menu to us and a few people gave them a try and liked them. The sandwiches were pretty good but the service is truly awful. Somebody got the math wrong and the driver literally wrote down "too far to drive for tip." When we called to complain I was greeted with indifferent "ya we'll talk to him." Today I tried again. When I placed my order I was scolded because I called after 12:00 PM "like I had done something wrong" and the food arrived an hour later cold with no apology. Too bad the front of the house can't get it right. What a strange business strategy to take in this economy! I'm going to take my business elsewhere.

I'm a little shocked to see all the poor reviews here. I happen to love Tasty's, whether eating in the restaurant or ordering on Grub Hub. The food is made quickly (for delivery or in-store), the food is very good, and the price is quite fair. I've never had a bad experience and I've tried lots of their sandwiches. Plus, their hours go late so it's great for ordering food in at Tufts. Give it a shot and see for yourself, Tasty's lives up to its name.

Hiked over to Tasty Gourmet for lunch inspired by yelp'woohoo's. Came back to the office with a Captain Albert wrap and a Red Hot Turkey sandwich. Both were very good and plentiful (serving three). One side per order is included. Got fries and cole slaw. Both were yummy. The leftovers will serve as dinner for one.

The food is alright. You definitely get a lot of choices, and it's not very expensive. I like that they grill their wraps since most people won't. I like the side choices (mmm potato salad). But everything is just OK. It's nothing that I would go out of my way for, but if I want a sandwich, it's a short walk up the street and hits the spot. They are as accommodating as they can be for special orders (I noticed someone ordering who was allergic to gluten and the guy was more than willing to go through ingredients with her). So ya, I would go back, but I wouldn't go out of my way. PS - don't get their Thanksgiving sandwich. It sounded delicious - but their idea of cornbread stuffing is some sort of paste with cornmeal in it.

Went back again today and had an awful experience. Ordered the big backyard BBQ burger. Owner as what temp I wanted, I asked for medium rare. It arrived dripping in grease b/c it was low quality meat that was an industrial pre-pack, frozen patty. Gross! Husband ordered a sandwich, I think was called the 5 star. He said the meat was not good quality and the bun was not toasted as it had been described on the board. Despite having a good first experience here, we both agree we will never go back.

When I lived in the area, Tasty Gourmet was one of my favorite choices for a NY Deli-style sandwich and some awesome fries (I dont' think I've found a place with better fries yet!) They're crammed into a small store with about room for maybe 10 people to sit down so they primarily do takeout and delivery. They also open bright and early in the morning and serve breakfast as well (and breakfast sandwiches on the go for the busier people). A few years back, I probably had the largest breakfast in my life for a little over $6. Three pancakes, 2 strips of bacon, a slab of ham, 2 sausages, hash browns, and 2 eggs (any way you like it), plus toast. They also make a great ham and egg breakfast sandwich with home fries as well! Great value for the meals and a huge variety in sandwiches as well.

Everyone else has already made the "it's tasty but not gourmet" joke, so I'm not going to steer clear. Tasty Gourmet is exactly what your local neighborhood sandwich shop should be. It's cheap, greasy, and all kinds of delicious. There are a huge variety of sandwiches on the menu, but on the offchance nothing strikes your fancy the workers are happy to whip you up a custom sandwich. The sandwiches are meaty, piled high with generous amounts of ingredients and toasted to gooey crunchy perfection. The fries are cut thick, doused in a hearty batter, and are highly recommended. I wish the portions were a bit smaller (half of one of their sandwiches is more than enough), but the price is certainly cheap enough that I'm not going to complain. A few words of warning: Tasty's does not take credit cards, so come prepared with cash. I'd recommend you place your order by phone, as the wait can be long when things get busy.

this place makes pretty decent sandwiches. the stuff is always fresh, you'll find tons of grad students there for a bite while studying or discussing work. i've been a couple times, i've always enjoyed the food.. the sandwiches are good, but not amazing. for the money, it's not a bad deal for a quick somewhat healthy alternative. the downside is that they can be extremely rude at times..... if you know what you want and don't ask a lot of questions, this is a decent place.. if you have any questions or want changes to your sandwich.. HA.. might as well hit the door on the way out while you're at it.

Went here with a group from work on friday for lunch. The service can be kinda slow when it's crowded but the food makes up for it. Great sandwiches, I always go for the melts. For me, the french fries push this from a four star to five star rating. They use fresh potatoes with skin on and they have that dirty potato flavor that i want from my fries. Also, bring cash because that's all they take.

Fantastic sandwich spot. The only downside is that their hours are not very good. The Larry Bird is my personal favorite and the seasoned french fries are a must. If you have room for more after your sandwich (unlikely) give one of their cupcakes a try.

Fully agree that I wouldn't go out of my way to try this place. But, for those of you trapped in Medford, i.e., the land of suck, this deli counter is a gem. Family-owned and operated, Tasty serves up oversized portions on a vast menu (see below) at reasonable prices. My longstanding favorites included the meatloaf sandwich (piled high, heated), fried haddock (light breading, thick cut fish), mac & cheese as a side (paging Dr. Rotorooter), and drumroll... the cupcakes! $1 or $1.50? So rich and buttery and so faaaar above & beyond the $3 or $4 dressed-up nothing across the street at Danish. The trick is to find what you like and what they do well--once you finagle that, I wouldn't waste any further time menu-hopping looking for other finds. With a menu as extensive as this, there's bound to be just as many misses (if not more) as hits. Also, try the related family biz (and similar concept) Deli-icious in Davis Square.

tasty's obscure facade masks its hidden gem status. located right by tufts, the prices are great for college students. the breakfasts are fantastic. i especially love the french toast. their sandwich choices are vast, so much so that it's often hard to make a decision. a must-try: the tuna melt. absolutely heavenly! their chicken salad club is pretty good too! the macaroni salad side is yummy but i always get the sweet potato fries. another plus to tasty's: the sweets! their cupcakes, cookies, and pies always make my mouth water. you really can't go wrong with anything here. just make sure you also get the tasty's punch card. once you get 10 stamps, your next meal is free!

(3)Ashley F.

(3)Sarah B.
Got the Black Angus roast beef on a toasted baguette, which is one of their new choices: AMAZING. I love this place.
(5)Jud P.
(5)Amanda S.
This place is a deli-heaven. Amazing sandwiches and sides!! Soooo good. Try their Larry Bird sandwich, as well as their amazing seasoned fries and onion rings. Pure heaven, enough said.
(4)Ben E.

(5)Jake H.
Best. sandwiches. ever. chicken motz and seasoned fries.
(5)Chris M.
(4)Jess K.
(5)Al S.
Good food, good prices and they deliver what more can you ask for?
(4)Tinkerbell T.
Had the tuna melt on sourdough with a side of potato salad. It was really yummy! Very friendly and prompt service. Can't wait to come back and try more stuff!
(4)Joe B.
Pretty good, but nothing to go out of your way for. I think this place gets a lot of good reviews but there is much better in Medford. Boston Ave may be weak for food so I can understand why it is overrated, but I would venture to other parts of the city to get food.
(2)Em P.
(4)Justine B.

(5)Ligaya T.
rating purely on a quick sandwich shop scale, this place is great! yummy subs and cool combinations, fresh deli meats, great fries and a good selection of sodas. super close to tufts so its limited seating is always filled with college kids trying to escape dewick or carm (the cafeterias). cheerful workers and inexpensive, too. i wish i still had one down the street!
(4)Daniel S.
Great sandwich shop. I like the Tuscan chicken, & they have a version of the bacon turkey bravo. Four stars because the food is always quite tasty, and the choice of sides is varied and also good.
(4)Haley S.

(4)Rob J.
(4)Kelsey H.

(4)Scott F.
(5)Leanne W.

(4)Babs P.
(4)Bulba S.
(4)Andrew B.
(4)Marina P.
(3)C T.
The most delicious fries in the world!!!!
(4)Melmoth K.
(3)Billie M.
Tasty? Yup. Gourmet? Breakfast. What?!
(3)Mc I.
(5)Teddie C.
Yuck!
(2)Michael P.
Worst service ever. Waited 2 hours for a sandwich to be delivered. Called multiple times, people were rude. Food is ok, but not worth that hassle!
(1)Matt L.
(2)Evan A.
(2)Alexandra M.
Here now, the owner told us it's his last week in business, they're selling the store because it's empty when college students aren't in town. 16 years of business and he's closing up shop.
(3)Scott O.
(3)Tamar A.
(2)Melissa J.
(1)Michael T.
(2)Vince B.
(1)Randy N.
(4)J K.
It may have been a bad day, but when I was there, an angry man was at the counter, preparing food without gloves on, making a mess out of everything. I was with a friend who says that the place isn't always like that, but I sure as heck had a horrific experience...
(1)Ja C.
(3)Vyshali M.
(5)Annie P.

(4)Nishanth K.
(2)Dave C.
Ordered a meatball sub for delivery; meatballs were cold and one clearly hadn't been given enough time to thaw. Used to love this place but can't justify going back again.
(1)Dani H.
(4)Lisa D.

Best place to get sandwiches in the area. They put Deli-icious to shame.
(5)Zig W.
+75% as good as deli-icious +close to my house +close to liquor store +chicken caesar wrap +chicken ranch melt, ciabatta +fast delivery (~25 mins) -100% as expensive as deli-icious -the old guy can be brusque -sometimes crowded with sports bros and constr

Often!

Ordered from Grub Hub. Food took an hour and half to get here, though it was promised in 45 minutes. I got a message from Grub Hub that my food was on its way and would be here by 6:05, called at 6:30 and was told the food was on the way and the phone was hung up. Finally arrived at 6:45 and I can tell. Mushroom Swiss burger and fries first grilled and then steam cooked in a styrofoam box for almost and hour. The sautéed garlic is almost raw. The fries are completely indelible and the burger itself isn't that good even if it was hot. Pretty disappointed.

(2)Kasey S.

(5)Kathy M.

(4)Nicole B.

(4)Boston A.
Sandwich was greasy and the older guy was rude. Which I suppose is better than the other way around, but still...
(2)Lauren M.
(5)helena c.
got the tasty mafioso with the seasoned fries.. Delicious! The fries were amazing! Only giving 4 stars because I felt like the bread could have been better.

(5)Brian K.

(1)Cody C.
The food is incredible, hands down, if you're a fan of gourmet sandwiches. The mac salad is awesome too. I recommend the hot sandwiches, especially the spicy turkey.
(5)Dan T.
(4)Manfred S.
(4)Bethany B.

(4)John C.
this place makes pretty decent sandwiches. the stuff is always fresh, you'll find tons of grad students there for a bite while studying or discussing work. i've been a couple times, i've always enjoyed the food.. the sandwiches are good, but not amazing. for the money, it's not a bad deal for a quick somewhat healthy alternative. the downside is that they can be extremely rude at times..... if you know what you want and don't ask a lot of questions, this is a decent place.. if you have any questions or want changes to your sandwich.. HA.. might as well hit the door on the way out while you're at it.
(3)Jonathan P.
(5)Andrew M.
Fantastic sandwich spot. The only downside is that their hours are not very good. The Larry Bird is my personal favorite and the seasoned french fries are a must. If you have room for more after your sandwich (unlikely) give one of their cupcakes a try.
(4)Denise W.
The fries here are crack. I mean that in a positive way.
(5)Food E.
(5)Serena L.
tasty's obscure facade masks its hidden gem status. located right by tufts, the prices are great for college students. the breakfasts are fantastic. i especially love the french toast. their sandwich choices are vast, so much so that it's often hard to make a decision. a must-try: the tuna melt. absolutely heavenly! their chicken salad club is pretty good too! the macaroni salad side is yummy but i always get the sweet potato fries. another plus to tasty's: the sweets! their cupcakes, cookies, and pies always make my mouth water. you really can't go wrong with anything here. just make sure you also get the tasty's punch card. once you get 10 stamps, your next meal is free!
