Overrated. My boyfriend has been to a different locations many times and he was really excited when they added one in our neighborhood. I've heard a lot of amazing things about this place and I thought it would be as magical as people make it seem. Boy was I wrong. The first time I came I had the cajun style, meh. Not that great to be honest, they are soft, not crisp at all. The second time I had the regular fries, still not cooked the way I'd prefer, but whatever. I did appreciate the burger it was tasty. The prices are another story. I'll come back for the burgers but the fries are a lost cause with me.

So this is actually a continuation of my last review. It may have taken a long time to get food we had not ordered but when we brought it to the manager's attention he immediately redid our order and let us keep the incorrect order...it was uneatable so I had it for lunch the next day. Cant wait to try it again.

When calories don't matter and you want that juicy burger and enormous amount of fries - this is the place to be :-)

I'm not big on fast food, but I'll take this over Burger King, Mickey D's, or Wendy's any day of the week. Substantial patty, handcut fries, unlimited toppings...count me in.

Fantastic burgers & fries! If it wasn't so costly I'd keeping coming and coming. It's close to coldstone too which is great for a great dessert after a calorie avalanche at Five Guys anyway! It's great! Go and get ylurself nice, hot, juicy burger with all the amenities you please all on the house. Yumm!

Always dependable burgers - great quality ingredients, quick and easy for a made to order burger. Cajun fries are good too! Unfortunately does not come close to an In-n-Out burger...

Yummy , Yummy Cheeseburger. I ordered the cheeseburger with sauted onions. It was lip smacking, finger licking , juice dripping down the chin, good. This place is nothing fancy . You order at the counter wait about 5 minutes for the food . And eat in or take out. If you have a hankering for a good cheebuger, cheebuger come here.

I've eaten at other Five Guys - and I don't mind that they cook their burgers well. But here they need to clean the grill in between huge amounts of burgers. And he's cooking the burgers too long. Crunchy and dry isn't what it says on the menu buddy.

i love five guys except this location was kind of cramped

Aight, here's the run down. Went to this place for an after dinner chow-down for the first time. I always wanted to try this place, since I worked out at the Boston Sports Club across the street, but always found myself at Kelly's Roast Beef two seconds away. Nevertheless, the place is pretty chill. Not to over the top, but not too dark in terms of ambiance. I ordered a burger with grilled mushrooms and grilled onions - I must say, not too shabby. The meat patties were juicy, and there were a good amount of shrooms and onions in the burger. In comparison with UBurger, I'd put Five Guys a close second to UBurger. The highlight of this place were the cajun fries though. Fries were crispy, and had a good amount of heat, but wasn't hot enough that I needed a drink. To make the fries a lot better in my opinion, you just need to put a bit of salt and it's great.

This is our go-to Five Guys. They're great, they're fast, they never mess up the food, and we get tons of fries in the bag. Plus, we saw Ed Markey there eating ice cream.

Had lunch at Five Guys in Medford today. I hadn't eaten all day so I was a bit cranky walking in. I noticed the music was really loud at first. After I began eating though I started enjoying the music. Correlation? Possibly. Anyway, the second thing I noticed was the floor. Rather slick. I think the peanut oil that they cook their food with is also lightly covering the entire floor. I didn't have a problem navigating on it but it could be somewhat slippery for someone not so agily inclined. On to the food. Ordered the cheeseburger, five guy style fries and a small soda (big cup anyway and free refills). The soda machine is great; tons of choices in a space age like machine. What more could you want in a soda machine? The burger and fries came up quick and were delish. The burger was excellent with two patties, cheese, all the free fixins I could ask for and soft bun. The fries were different at first with the peanut oil but they were really good and there were a ton of them. Oh, I forgot the free peanuts. You can gorge on peanuts while waiting for the food. Yay! Overall, pretty good stuff. If you're in the Medford station landing area, stop by for some burgers and fries.

I'd say my first Five Guys visit was a success. I mean, they have burgers and fries. And they were tasty. And HUGE. I wasn't a huge fan of the "cajun" flavoring on the fries, next time I'll go for plain. Honestly, there is no need to order the large fries, unless you are sharing with 4 other people. And the "small" burger isn't small. So go for the smalls, friendly on your budget and on your stomach.

Been here quite a bit since it's opened. Usually they are spot on, but once in awhile they can be off. Great staff here, I personally like my burgers well done, but as long as it's cooked right these really are the best burgers around. Definitely an east coast equivalent to in & out burger. DAYUM! you bite the fry, the fry bites back!

  • Mike D.

Five Guy's is just awesome all the time!!! The burger's always taste great and if you order fries you get an obscene amount of the them. For the price, you can't beat it. I like all the dudes at this location!! Everyone is cool!!

This is my first time trying out Five Guys. I bought a little bacon burger(its actually not little looks more like a regular size burger) and regular size fries, cost me $7.38 plus tax. The fries look similar to the fries you get at Wendy's, tasted more crispier though but nothing special. My fries came out kinda dark, which I assume the oil has not been changed often. As for the burger it was definitely fresh/better compare to wendys, mcdonalds, and burger king. Love the fact you can add so many toppings for free. Employees were nice and appear to enjoy working there. I would return again but just for the burgers, the rest of the menu items are average and not much value for the money.

5 guys. what does it mean? what does it stand for? definition of the word guy: a man. well let me tell you, this place lives up to its' name. you get 1 guy for fresh burger patties cooked to order on a grill. i do wish however they were flame broiled vs pan grilled but hey, we're splitting hairs. this is fast food afterall. you get guy #2 for having boatloads of toppings any way you want it or all the way (all the toppings in black). you get guy #3 for having fresh cut fries that are fried in fresh oil that is constantly replaced. guy #4 comes in the form of efficiency. no longer is there guesswork on which burger is yours. they number it on the receipt and then they number the burger accordingly. guy #5 comes in the form of over the top. go ahead order a small fry, they'll dump another small fry in the bag for the hell of it. simply put, if you want quick burger with all the fixings this is the place to go. the variety is great and the wait isn't too bad for a fresh cooked burger. with that said, there are some downsides. the place needs some outdoor seating. i love in and outs because it is almost setup like a mcdonalds, it's more family friendly and kid friendly. not that it really mattes to me, but it sure would be nice to have a booth seat or a corner booth seat with a few of your friends and hang out and chill over a burger away from the cooking stations. the cajun fries, though tasty are way too salty and way over seasoned, better ask for light seasoning. all in all, if you want a decent burger this place will not do you wrong... disclaimer: they cook all the fries in peanut oil and have peanuts for free as snacks.. if you have a severe peanut allergy STAY AWAY!

I have had many great experiences at Five Guys in Medford. The online order system is efficient when placing large orders at work. Pickup is always quick and the food is freshly prepared. They are organized and have yet to make a mistake.

  • S T.

Fast and good. Oh, and I love the free peanuts while waiting for my burger. Also, they are not stingy with ingredients..when I ask them for extra mushrooms, they seriously pile it on. By the way, a tip for the ladies - the floors are kind of slick..so be careful when walking around.

Best damn burger and fries in MA. Rivaled only by Four Burgers in Central.

Okay, full disclosure - I'm not a huge fan of fast food so I knew going in that I probably was not going to love Five Guys. If I wasn't with a friend who wanted to come here, I probably would not have chosen to eat here. That said, it's a fast food chain that serves burgers, hot dogs and fries and is step or two above McDonald's or Burger King. However, it's cleaner than than the other fast food chains. The burgers are a bit greasy and overcooked for my liking. The fries were okay, but not fabulous -- maybe they need to be crispier? I'd say it's an okay place if you're on a budget and fast food is your goal, but I'd recommend spending a little more time and money to head to R.F O'Sullivan's or Boston Burger for a truly fantastic burger.

I was so excited to try a five-guys burger as everyone has been raving about it. It was so meh that I was SUPER disappointed. The cajun fries are just fries with some spice on it. Ugh, come on! Bartleys is so much better!!!

  • Glenn M.

Juicy, messy goodness. Different than In-n-out, but just as good in it's own way.

    (5)
  • Kathleen F.

Mmm, well laid out, great service, best fast food burger ever and the cajun fries are amazing. I like that they don't focus too much on the aesthetics or gimmicks and instead focus on delivering quality and well priced food! I'll definitely be back!!

  • Pran M.

The burger was pretty good, with unlimited toppings. I've seen places with more topping variety, but not many. The fries were decent but WAAAAY too many, and their drink machine is epic. But the price was over $10 and it took about 8 minutes to get my order. Final verdict: 2/5 stars, mostly due to price. It's just not good enough to cost that much, despite being very tasty.

Take that West Coast Burger chain snobs. I will get out of my car for this burger, thank you very much. Nah I don't mind lines or crowds when I've got a paper basket full of free peanuts, so there. A few tips when you five guys, I like getting two singles rather then one double, and small order of fries feeds two. Best chain restaurant burger in Massachusetts. Just shy of Shake shacks the ground beef power house that started in Manhattans Battery park.

  • Hussam B.

Their burgers are very good but I don't like the fries although it is cooked in peanut oil which is supposedly healthier.

    (3)
  • Dilly W.

Personally I like Uburger better but if you're looking for fast food from actual fresh meat ingredients (unlike McDonalds) this is a good bet for outside the city of Boston. Their burgers are hand packed so they always get the meat spices and marinade in there. You could probably give these out at a bbq and no one would notice you bought them at five guys :)

    (3)
  • Luke B.

Delicious, fast, cheap. Nothing like fast food burgers that don't make you shit your pants while you're eating them. The hotdogs are delicious too. Anyone who says 5 guys is overrated is slow on the uptake. We're talking about food that's only a little pricier than McDonalds, it's not gourmet, it's not really even that specials but it's delicious, consistent and not frozen or microwaved which makes a HUGE difference in the taste quality, and frankly the safety of the food. I'm with Ellen S. on the price issue, you shouldn't want to eat meat that's any cheaper! As for Romney D. and the fries, they are fresh cut fries, they're not going to be insanely crispy. People need to be able to differentiate between something that's actually not good and something you just personally don't like. Idiots get in the McD's drive through and eat $7 worth of microwaved chemicals, leaders of the new school go to Five Guys and spend $8 on freshly prepared food.

  • Greg T.

Love this place, still love it a bit more in the more established DC locations, but out of the MA ones, the people here seem better trained than a few of the others I've been to, where it just wasn't Five Guys quality (which is still better than anything else we have round here, but). If you like a good flat patty, this is one of the best. Small fry feeds 2-3. It will cost you probably 2-3 bucks more than a comparable double burger meal at other fast food joints, but the quality of the condiments alone is worth the difference. Now 1 caveat, if you're interested in rare burgers or thick burgers, this place is probably not for you so I probably wouldn't waste the money to be honest.

def a fan. came here with babel got the cajun fries which are sooo good. mixed some vinegar with ketchup which is very tasty. had some free peanuts uhhhh how can it get better? o the burgers delicious and u can put whatever u want on it. then. there was so much fries that im glad we ordered the regular and it was too much i couldnt finish it at all :( good fries go to waste i hate to see that anyways will be back for sure.!!!!

Love 5 guys but after having been to a few other locations, I dont love this one soo much anymore... The one in Chelsea just seems to produce a better burger, the first time I just chalked it up to that night, but I have been back a few times since & they seem to be a drier less tasty burger than the Chelsea location... And there always seems to be 2-3 employees on breaks eating while there is a line out the door, I get everyone deserves a break, but I mean when there is a line shouldnt that take priority?!

    (3)
  • Timothy L.

The burgers are pure awesomeness. The fries are absolutely incredible. I even get an occasional hot dog, which are very good too. The staff is always friendly and upbeat, without being fake and nauseating. The only criticism is that the floor seems to have a permanent slipperiness to it. Nothing that a good steam clean would not solve. Not to worry, because I would crawl across the floor to place my order.

It's a great place to come and enjoy a delicious burger. I love their Cajun fries. The place could be cleaner though.

I love the spicy fries here. Also the small order of fries are a lot . Burgers are good too

  • Dedania M.

Lost my 5 guys virginity here; Only came here to try the Cajun fries but they were fresh, yummy, soft, and full of spice. I really wish they made them more crunchier though. Service was very nice too! When I picked up my order, they were super friendly and reminded me that the condiments and necessities were on the left to me. Even when my S.O and I left, they were nice enough to notice our existences and greeted us out! I'll try their burgers one day.. It's a goal of mine

  • Nina S.

I love five guys burgers! And their business model in general. Five guys is to McDonald's as chipotle is to taco bell. Elevated quality with a little added cost :) this location is my second favorite, I prefer the one on summer street in Boston right off the downtown crossing station.

Great burgers and fries at a great price. The service here is efficient and friendly. You can't go wrong.

    (4)
  • Michael M.

Great burgers. Good fries. Much better than most fast food burgers, not quite as good as a place like fuddruckers, but there are lots of locations. Filling and doesn't leave you feeling gross

  • Chloe S.

This was the first Five Guys I ever went to...it was so delicious. I got the 2 patty cheeseburger which was huge. I also love how most toppings are free! The complimentary peanuts is a nice touch and the service was very efficient.

So much is right with this place, I hate to give it a low rating: 1. FRESH CUT fries...finally! So hard to find, and so worth it when you do. It's nice to eat fries that actually taste like (gasp!) POTATOES, with actual (gasp!) flavor *BEFORE* you drown them in ketchup. Plus they give you nice big portions here...our "small" order was easily the size of a large at most other places. Only small gripe: they need to go easy on the salt, these are even saltier than McDonald's fries! Much better to let each person add extra salt if needed. 2. FRESH TOPPINGS: yes, and you customize your burger to add stuff like jalapenos and hot sauce at no extra cost. 3. SELF-SERVE SODA FOUNTAIN with tons of variety: if you abhor sugary fizzy drinks, there are tons of non-carbonated, non-caffeinated, and unsweetened options here, and for an extra twenty lousy cents, the "large" size gives you free refills over the "regular" size. 4. FREE PEANUTS while you wait...unfortunately they are terribly over-salted, but hey they're free so can't complain too much. 5. FAST EFFICIENT SERVICE: take note, Shake Shack! There are, as the name says, five people working behind the counter, and they are all clearly WORKING, such that you don't have to wait any longer than you really need to for your food. 6. GOOD BUNS: no, not talking about the cute female cashier. :D But the burger itself, comes with a white bread bun that's not overly thick and fluffy like that at Tasty Burger. It's just the minimum size needed to keep your burger assembled and hold the condiments in place. Why oh why can't all burgers come like this? 7. LOTSA MEAT: the bacon burger and standard cheeseburger, although it doesn't say so on the menu board, are actually DOUBLE-MEAT! So you get to sink your teeth into a good solid one inch of cooked dead cow flesh, yummmmmmm! Now, for the bad news. And yes, it's really REALLY bad news, if it can make me give this place only 2 stars after all my gushing above. 1. Said meat above is cooked WELL-DONE, period. And by "WELL-DONE," these folks mean WELL-DONE, even if the menu board claims the burgers are "juicy." Nope, ain't a single drop of juice I could see or taste come outa these patties. Maybe they were referring to the toppings and condiments? 2. Said meat is UTTERLY BLAND...as in, I don't think they even use salt and pepper to season the meat before or during cooking. (Facepalm.) This, combined with the barbaric "WELL-DONE" method of over-cooking, results in you sinking your teeth into a nice one inch of...BLAAAAAAH. Doesn't even taste like a nice murdered cow. Could be some random vegan/vegetarian pseudo-burger substance for all my tastebuds could detect. WHY OH WHY, must a burger joint that has so much going right for it, TOTALLY AND COMPLETELY SCREW UP the single most basic and essential part, the frickin' MEAT in the frickin' BURGERS??? I noticed all the bottles of steak sauce on the condiments counter...meh! This is a truly, truly appalling human tragedy of colossal dimensions, rivaling the worst war crimes, natural disasters, and Donald Trump soundbites imaginable. I think I will go and drown my sorrows in the basement of Tasty Burger herewith, even with their godawful huge fluffy white buns.

Chain restaurant. Food is ok, but is better than other large chain fast food burger joints.

    (3)
  • Aaron K.

The burgers are really great for under 5$. The junior was plenty with unlimited toppings. I read across the menu adding topping after topping and they seemed to get everything on there. Definitely better than the other fast food chains for a burger. Fries were a huge disappointment. My wife had eaten their regular fries before and did not like them so we went with the cajun fries. While they had a decent flavor they were too heavy handed on the spices. These were spice covered fries. Texture was off for a fry as well. I'd like to see some good fries at Five Guys. For now I'll come back for the burger and maybe stash a bag of potato chips in my pants. Service was on point, friendly, helpful, and happy. Restaurant was clean. Just get some new fries!

Have I already written a review about Five Guys? I think I have, but I don't care -- I will say it again: I LOVE FIVE GUYS. They probably have the tastiest burger I've had to date, and I've had a lot of fancy schmancy burgers, and I've also had a lot of dollar-menu delights. But a nice juicy Five Guy burger? Mmm. Yes. I always get a little burger because that's a single patty and that's plenty for me, but whenever I am accompanied by males, they'll order the regular burger (or regular bacon cheeseburger... O_O), which consists of TWO giant patties. OK. Get it "all the way" if you want a plethora of toppings, but you can mix and match however you wish. I always opt for the jalapenos, which are always fresh and delightfully spicy. (And other toppings, too, of course, but I never forget or pass up the jalapenos!) The cajun fries "well done" are. just. awesome. I don't do the malt vinegar thing, but they have that as an option for you if you want. And that cool soda machine with hundreds of different choices of soft drink? *Insert emoticon with red hearts as eyes* FIVE GUYS FO' LYFE.

Stop the presses! If you haven't bore witness to the space-age Coke machines that now haunt the Medford Five Guys, get over there and pledge your allegiance immediately. Singularity is soon upon us, as evidenced by the ability to mix your own grape-cherry-vanilla Sprite with the tap of a touch screen. Optimus Prime meets optimal lime (Diet Coke? Yes. Mr. Pibb? No.) and all things between. Free refills never terrified me so good.

I can haz cheezburgers!? Come here. Get a cheeseburger with everything (except tomatoes), get a shopping bag full of fries. Get fat. Go for a run to make up for it.

  • Francisco R.

I was lookin for a burger place today before my flight and went to Five guys for the first time, i really liked my burger, it was well cooked, juicy, and flavorful, best of all, all the toppings are free on your burger. I would definitely recommend five guys if you have a burger crave and the cajun fries taste pretty good. The reason they loose a star for me is that i also had a crave for a milkshake and these dudes try to "keep it simple"... i want a freakin shake... So you loose a freakin star... And i wanted bacon and cheese fries but i'm feeling like 3 stars is to little if i actually liked my burger. VERDICT: Definitely comin back... Unless i want a shake or my fries with toppings.

  • Simon L.

What can be said that hasn't already been said by grandmaster CM Damien? The burgers are just that good. Cooked to medium, the meat is juicy, tender and flavorful beyond your wildest expectations. Wrapped tightly in tinfoil that serves as a perfect glove for consuming these amazing patties, the combination of toppings explodes in ta bouche. Order yours "all the way:" lettuce, tomatoes, mayo, mustard, cheese, sauteed onions and mushrooms, pickles, ketchup, green peppers. The bad ass burgers come in a bun just solid enough to handle this not-too greasy-mess. French fries are fried hard enough and absolutely demonstrate hand cut awesome. Crispy on the outside with medium to light darkness. You get to wait for your number while shelling peanuts on the house. If you haven't been yet, go soon.

Five guys five stars for you. At this location I always get the best service with delicious juicy burgers. Keep up the good work.

Boyfriend wanted to come here because he's never tried them. I being the consummate girlfriend grudgingly obliged. lol. No I like 5Gs but they are usually kind of greasy. Not tonight. Perfectly cooked with added bacon that made the burger. He enjoyed it so much that he helped me finish mine. Always a good choice for burgers.

UNHYGIENIC...EMPLOYEES USE THEIR LEGS in the kitchen, After a long wait, for a order of fries while the 2 guys in the kitchen finished their interesting conversation, as one of them picked up a paper bowl to put the fries in, it fell..and he PICKED IT UP USING HIS LEG WHILE THE TAKE OUT ORDER WAS IN HIS OTHER HAND (his shoe almost touched my food). YUCK!...NEVER eating there again.

  • Traci K.

This Five Guys (and maybe all of them? I don't know...I have only been to this location) has that awesome soda fountain where you can have like a bazillion different drinks... Honestly, that's the reason why I decided to check it out. I wanted some crazy flavors of Fanta. (Though, disappointingly, they did not have grapefruit Fanta...which I have been searching high and low in the US for and cannot find...but I digress...) Since I was already there for soda, I decided to have a burger and fries to accompany. Double with cheese and everything - neatly wrapped in a foil wrapper. Small fries are ridiculously huge. The burger was really tasty. Definitely a fanc-i-fied fast food burger, but the ingredients seemed fresh enough and the burger wasn't too greasy. The fries seemed under done - not crispy... Definitely had that hand-cut feel. Maybe they could have stood for a second frying. I like a crispy fry. These were flaccid. I like the no-nonsense menu and no-nonsense ordering. The employees all were very pleasant. No complaints there. Not a bad joint for a reasonably priced fast food fix.

  • Patrick H.

Great burgers and fries. You get a lot of fries easily can be split 2/3 ways. A little pricey so add as many toppings as possible to get your moneys worth. Regular burger comes two patties little burger is one. Employees are always very friendly!

  • Bryan P.

This place is amazing. I've been here a few time and always leave fully satisfied. It's quick service, but they make actual burgers. The prices are just right for the quality and portion of the food. Must go if you are in need of a good burger meal.

Okay, I might just come here for the super cool Coca Cola machine. I was the biggest kid pressing all the different types of soda and mesmerized by all the flavors. Really!?! Peach Sprite Zero! GRAPE Sprite Zero! I was hooked from that moment on. I asked the cashier what the difference between the small cheeseburger and the regular cheeseburger. Well, THERE'S HUGE DIFFERENCE. Their regular cheeseburger are really double patty cheeseburgers. The small are single patty which was more than enough for me. The hubby didn't hear the cashier and ordered the regular cheeseburger with bacon and he his bulged out of his head when he saw his burger. Deep down inside I think he was excited assuming they made some type of mistake. But I explained it to him and I think he was hooked from that moment. The burgers were good. The condiments and toppings were all free. Their regular fries were plentiful but they weren't as crunchy as I would've liked. They also give you free peanuts while you wait. I want to go back. And press all the soda buttons again :)

  • Andrew R.

Finally finally finally had my first Five Guys experience. Outstanding! They had me at free peanuts. You should see the people just scooping them up by the bagful. A burger cooked to order, not from frozen meat, formed right there in front of your very eyes? Sold. Juicy and not tough at all. And the toppings! So many choices, and everything tastes so fresh (that's how I would characterize the burger overall - fresh) it's like I'm not even clogging my arteries at all. Watch out for them fries. Cajun style is seasoned beyond reason! Dip it in malt vinegar so you don't eat a week's worth of sodium. And a small fry seems to be able to feed a small army (of 3-4) easily. Go with the little burger. It's enough - trust me. And it's only $3 something. A most excellent deal.

  • Rachel L.

I like dis place. The cajun fries that Davel gets are sometimes a bit too spicy for me. I have met my opponent in spiciness but the burgers are really awesome. You can choose whatever things you want on it, and well - I like my burgers with mushrooms. There are no complaints, but haven't gotten a "wow", speechless type of reaction, yet. Will come back as Davel desires.

If I had eaten a cheeseburger for every time someone told me to try out Five Guys I would probably be pretty chubs by now because that would be about 150 cheeseburgers all consumed within a short period of time. So, when this new location opened up and since it's located right across the way from my apartment (and my gym, uh oh temptations) I had to see what all the hype was about. When I arrived after work around 7:45 p.m. on a weeknight it was pretty crowded but the line moved quickly. Inside the red and white Five Guys theme is everywhere along with boxes of peanuts and stacked up large bags of fries. Speaking of which, the fries are great! Not shoestring or steak cut but right in the middle and cooked to order. I had the regular fries but cajun spicy fries are also offered. In the burger department I went with a double cheeseburger with lettuce, tomato and ketchup. It was greasy, cooked to order and satisfying. Oh yeah, they have Cherry Coke on tap. BONUS. In conclusion, it was not hype but actual goodness. It's clear that this location is running a tight ship and everything I ordered was great. Get on your first Five Guys experience here and soon!

I keep halal or kosher so I haven't actually tried their burgers (a tragedy, I know). Their kosher-style hot dogs are amazing though. They are literally the best hot dog I have ever had. They take a hoagie/hotdog bun, grill and butter it, add a grilled Hebrew National frank sliced lengthwise (so the flat edges face up). Then you get to add all the toppings you want (me, I add jalapeños, grilled onions, relish, mushrooms, ketchup, and mustard) and voila! Hot dog perfection. Note these dogs are kosher-style because they use kosher Hebrew National franks but the actual preparation apparently renders them non-Kosher technically.

After craving a burger for an entire week, I finally said to myself, "OKAY. Today is the day. I am getting five guys!" Then I looked at the clock, realized it was 9:45 pm, and had a mini panic attack. They close at 10 pm, and it's definitely a 15 minute drive from my apartment. Deliriously hungry and temporarily judgement impaired, I grabbed my phone and called them up. I expressed my distress over my massive cheeseburger craving and concern about being able to get to the joint in time. The lady I spoke to reassured me that if I got there a little past 10:00 I would be fine, so I placed my order over the phone, thanked the employee a million times, and headed off to satisfy my taste buds! When I finally got there, turns out all of the workers knew me as the "cheeseburger craving girl" and they were super friendly. Customer service = amazing. The burger here, like any other Five Guys, is a step up from your average fast food -- it's greasy and sloppy enough for a hangover cure, but too fatty and juicy to be restaurant-worthy. You can pick extra toppings for your burger (grilled mushrooms, green peppers) for free. A small order of fries is a meal itself, as you'll get practically an entire bag of thick cut steak fries. Bottom line is, if you have a burger craving, this place will definitely do the trick!

Finishing up a weekend of bad food with a double bacon cheeseburger with mushrooms, jalapeño and fried onions...topped with hot sauce and the legendary spicy fries...whereas the location could be better, the food is the best burger bang for your back...and yes people at the west coast, it is better than In and Out burger (and yes even better than animal style).

I'm glad I watched a vegan documentary AFTER eating here! I'm glad I experienced it before swearing off red meat. We ordered 2 small bacon cheeseburgers for the kids and I had a regular hamburger and we all shared a regular fries. $20.29 later, we were munching up a storm. I didn't realize that the small burger's were the reasonable sized ones and the regular was a double patty monster. We had more than enough fries for us all and they have the coolest soda machine ever! If I were craving a quick burger and wanted more quality than the standard fast food options, this will do the trick.

Burger places are a dime a dozen, but there only a few places that really stand out. 5 Guys Burgers, though a chain, have brought forth a heckuva burger experience. What easily passes off as a place that looks like any other fast food place, only a tad cleaner, actually poses as much more. 5 Guys gives a fairly good selection of sandwiches, hotdogs and burgers. The burgers, of course, remain their delicious forerunner. Actually grilled and looking like ground beef brought together, rather than just a flat paddy, the burgers are made the second you order. Taken through a fairly streamlined process, you have the option of watching the creation of your meal from start to finish. Having a choice of just a burger, cheeseburger or bacon burger, you can't go wrong with either one. In addition, you can customize what you want on the burger, adding lettuce, tomatoes, mustard, mushrooms, or whatever you are in the mood for. With everything you wanted and finally having a taste of a joint effort of choice and cooked burger, you will not be disapointed. Grilled perfectly with a nice, toasted bun, this is be one of the most tasty burgers you will ever have. Not too greasy or too dry, it rides the line of a near perfect experience. The burgers are a good size as well, not too big or small. The fries are decent enough, lightly salted, but good stand to be cooked a bit longer. Not consistent in crispiness, they stand out as a weaker option at 5 Guys. Despite the fries, you can make up for it by having another burger at this place. If you are in the mood and want a satisfying burger, check out 5 Guys. Clearly, they knew that it just wouldn't take one guy or two guys and so forth to create a great burger. 5 is the magic number and after eating at any of their locations, you'll want to give hive fives to all 5 guys.

You know those TV shows where they bring trouble-making kids to prison and the sight of the inmates scares them straight? That's what it's like walking into this place and seeing the customers. You walk in, look around, and realize you don't want to be one of them. Just kidding. The burgers are pretty good.

Mehhh... I can live with it. I can live without it. I've had Five Guys on multiple occasions and every time it's just ok. However, it is nice to have plenty of topping options for free that most places charge for. It's also nice to get an overflowing amount of fries in a "small" sized order!

Decent but overrated. Burgers taste like 3/5 but are priced like they're 5/5. Fries, both cajun and regular, and the large variety of drinks deserve a 4/5. Also, Five Guys cannot compare to In N Out. They are in completely different leagues.

Is everyone really complaining about the PRICE?! Hang on a sec, gotta pop my eyes back in my head. Five Guys standard burger is about $3.49. That's in a town where greasy, zero-flavor pub burgers regularly climb above the $10 mark. Pricier than... UBurger? b. good? Four Burgers? HA. It's a farthing more than McDonald's. From one cheapskate to another, come on, people. Sure, that price reflects the "little" burger... little meaning only one delicious, meal-sized patty instead of TWO. Plus a fridge's worth of toppings free of charge, including sauteed mushrooms and fresh jalapeños. Yes, please. But it's about the quality. Those little touches. Five Guys' beef is never frozen. Always quick and juicy, like Pitbull's lady friends. One order of fries = tall cup serving + absurdly generous paper bag overflow. More than enough seasoned, crispy outside, fluffy/meaty Idaho potato goodness for two. For those who love it boardwalk-style, the malt vinegar bottles sit like soldiers at the ready beside the ketchup dispensers. Share a fountain soda and you have your choice of Diet Coke AND Coke Zero - although really, who picks Diet Coke? Did I mention the complimentary roasted peanuts? To summarize: 1 "little" burger 1 "little" bacon cheeseburger 1 cajun fries 1 fountain soda + tax = $14.51 Go forth and dine.

If you want a greasy cheeseburger with all the toppings you could ask for paired with a thing of fries that overflows into the bag, go here. Five Guys burgers always hits the spot, and the staff have always been friendly. I ALWAYS look forward to this place.

Do not enter if you are allergic to peanuts. for serious. You'll just die, right away. Peanuts are being shelled at almost every table, the scraps of which are dutifully swept up by employees. Peanut oil is what they use to fry stuff in. That's a whole lot of peanuts. I ordered a cheeseburger with "all the way" minus 'shrooms, but adding jalapenos. I didn't know that they were double patties. I figured it would've said in some obvious place... but I didn't see it. We ordered 5 burgers, 2 fries, 3 sodas and a bottle of water. That cost me nearly SIXTY DOLLARS. Holy. Mother. Of. Howmuchagain!? I literally almost hit the floor. Total rip-off. It is total mayhem behing the counter, lots of yelling, and LOTS OF RED. But the place is clean, and the food didn't take too long (considering it seemed to be the lunch of choice the Sunday we stopped in!). What they lack in condiments for your fries, they make up in variety of soft drinks. Mello Yello you say? Cherry Coke? Well now... The fries were decent, nothing exciting - I got the regular ones to make my company happy, but I'd have liked to try the cajun ones. I guess I'll just have to go back... Directly after payday, and try some more.

So, I went here for the first time. I was in a burger mood and heard their burgers were good and the fries come generously. I got a little burger which isn't even little. Taste wise, the burger tastes fresh and genuine, like it's a real cow you're munching on. The Cajun fries are nice but I prefer plain fries. The fries tasted home made. I do think it's a bit pricey(I got small fries and a little burger for NEAR $8) but it's not super expensive. I rather pay more knowing I am eating a real cow and potato. Quality over quantity. The menu seems like a typical burger joint so when I come back, I will only come back for a burger.

One of the greatest burger chains ever. Seriously. They are just delicious and that is all there is to it. Juicy, tasty, every topping you could want and you don't have to pay extra. And the fries are unbelievable plus they just throw them in a bag which you can see through by the time you get where you are going. Plus they have vinegar for them and being from Maryland (a hop skip and a jump from where Five Guys originated) that makes me quite happy. The mid-Atlantic does fries right and you will not convince me otherwise. I've been missing Five Guys since moving to Boston and I'm quite happy that one is not far away now. Also, there are free peanuts and who doesn't love that? Well, unless you are allergic, in which case don't go there, like the other poster said.

I have been waiting for this place to open. I came in around 11:30 AM (it opens at 11AM). The store is newly minted and very clean which is welcoming. When I walked in pretty much the only people in there besides me was the staff, who were smiling and seemed like they enjoyed being there. I have been unimpressed with other Five Guys locations, but I enjoyed my burger here. I thought t was the best Five Guys burger I have ever had. I don't like the thick cut of the fries here, I prefer the thin crisp kind but that is me. I also like that there free refills on drinks and they have Mellow Yellow. Part of the draw to this location it that is kind of out of the way. I will continue to come here early and enjoy that it is not mobbed with people. This Five Guys Burgers and Fries is a welcome addition to the hip chains that seem to be flocking to the area. Also there is a Cold Stone Creamery next door which is a winning combination of temping summertime food.

Oh 5 Guys, why do you charge me $9 for a Bacon Cheeseburger and a Drink? If I want Fries with that it would be $14? Why do you insist on Burning the Bacon & over cooking the Burger? I consider myself a Fast Food Connoisseur and I am baffled why people would eat here. Over priced & Food is awful. I had tried 5 Guys once before and was disappointed. I vowed to try again just to make sure it wasn't just one bad experience. I can't imagine anyone liking this place. It is not In N Out, Fatburger, Carls Jr or Shake Shack. The price point would put it on the same level as Red Robin and it fails to compare to the RR. The worst part of my experience was that they had two dogs in the Restaurant. The staff did nothing to remove them. So Gross!

As a native Californian, I'm not all that pysched about burgers that don't come from places called "In-N-Out". But, when you're away from home, you still have that protein craving from time to time. Enter Five Guys - not bad, but not In-N-Out. The plus: unlimited toppings for their fresh, regular burger. I'm a big fan of their sauteed onions, japanenos and A-1 sauce. Try their cajun-flavored fries!

The rating: I am in love with Five Guys, and I don't care who knows it, so I could never give them less than five stars. Does that mean they get twenty-five stars? Why I chose to eat here: A whole lot of buzz surrounding the opening of the Medford location. Eventually I had to see what all the fuss was about. The food: How is it that a chain can make a better burger than just about anyone else? Never mind the fact that the fries are also some of the best you will find, and the hot dogs are darn yummy as well, and you have an entire menu that surpasses many higher priced, higher profile joints around. So yeah, you heard correctly, burgers, fries, hot dogs, that is pretty much it for menu options right there. Heck, they don't even serve onion rings. But what they do they do very, very well. Let's start with the burgers. In my humble opinion, top five burger of my life. I know there are a lot of places that claim a better burger, but many of them may as well just claim more toppings because when you strip the burger to its meat and cheese underwear you realize that it may have just been a really hot dress, and what is underneath is less than you were expecting. But at five guys, strip away the nonsense and you still have, surprise surprise, a delicious cheese burger. I'm not saying I don't add toppings because I do. I particularly like either, just ketchup, ketchup mustard and pickle, or lettuce, tomato, mayo and ketchup. What I am saying is that it doesn't NEED these things and that is the hallmark of a good burger. The bun, the meat and the cheese are all you need at Five Guys. The beef is always cooked past medium so don't expect medium rare, but they still remain juicy and tender. The bun is your traditional sesame seed bun, and nothing could be more appropriate, except maybe the american cheese lazily melting atop the hot beef. Basic, simple, perfect. But enough about the burgers, now onto the fries. Always hot, fresh and just crisp enough. I can't tell you how many times I've burnt my poor little mouth on these just from the fryer golden sticks of potato awesomeness. They are perfectly salted (unless you go cajun, plenty of spice but not my cup of tea)and options for self seasoning include the normal ketchup, mayo, malt vinegar, etc. These are some of the most addictive fries on earth. Fun fact: they have a board up in the restaurant telling you the location the potatoes came from that day. Finally, the hot dogs. Also very good but the best part; the ability to recreate the whistle dog from A & W's canadian restaurant. A delicacy Ms. Sarah-pants introduced me to during a trip to visit her family. The whistle dog is a delicious combination of bacon, hot dog, cheese and relish, and Five Guys does a great approximation! Highly recommended if you want to try something non-burgery. Oh and a little, you have to see the soda machine, the options, oh the options, endless creative options. The service: In my visits to Five Guys, I don't think they have ever screwed up my order, and I've had quite a few visits. The place is always clean with one employee generally dedicated to keeping it that way. The one negative, if there needs to be one, the portions of fries seem to be decided on a whim. I have literally gotten a large fry while a friend ordered a small and the amount of fries was darn near equal. Sometimes a large fills the cup they serve them in, other times they will fill that and half the bag as well. The final rundown: I cannot stress enough how much I love Five Guys. Every time I eat one of their burgers the love just comes rushing back. There are very few places I can say that about. Take my advice; go there now!
