I get seafood to cook at home form there once in a while. The service varies. The last time I went in to buy some salmon there was another customer who was being helped by someone else and had a question about how to cook what he was thinking of buying. The person helping me stopped what he was doing and started telling the guy how to cook what he was buying and left me standing there with my money trying to pay to the point that the customer even said to the guy "Do you want to finish helping her first?" He still stood there with my salmon for a minute and then I got to pay. I should have walked out but I really wanted to get dinner going. Last week my husband and I thought we'd have a "treat" and try their take-out, fried seafood plate and a lobster roll. The fried seafood was so soggy and greasy we couldn't finish it. The lobster roll was "wimpy" with plenty of empty bun. In all, we felt disappointed that what was supposed to be a treat left us feeling gross.

I have gotten fresh seafood from Quarterdeck several times since I moved to the area this year, and have always had a good experience. The seafood is fresh and decently priced. I got white fish for grilling (can't remember what kind), it was very fresh, tasty, good size fillets. I made chowder with their Littleneck clams and they were delicious and very clean; no grit at all. Tonight I got their take out fried clams with two sides. These were definitely whole-belly clams, not strips as another reviewer suggested. Very tasty, large but sweet, nice batter, no complaints at all. They have a ton of nice side dish options and are willing to substitute if you ask. I had garlic spinach and sweet potato wedges, and both were good. Again, to clarify a previous review, when I called they specified that their sweet potato wedges are wedges, not fries, so I knew what I was getting. As for their service, again, I have never had a problem, though I can't say I've seen anyone else in there while I've been there. The guy on the phone for the take out order was very nice and helpful, and the folks in the store have always been able to answer my questions. The place is not large and rather unassuming, but along with their seafood they have a small yet thoughtful selection of accompaniments (lemons, potatoes, crackers, etc), including wine! The only criticism I have is that their website could use an update. Though, I subscribe to their emails, which has a lot more useful info. Overall, I will continue to shop here for my seafood needs.

This place is going to turn me into a fish addict. I went in here a few days ago to check out the take out, and I got to talk to the cook, Keith. He seems super excited about what he's doing there. That is a good thing. I tried the smoked salmon and I loved it. I could have eaten a pound no problem, and smoked salmon usually is not my thing. Keith insisted that I try the black bean cakes and crab puffs. I'm glad that he did, they were very tasty. Nice seasoning and consistency. But I ordered the fish and chips. Typically when the cod is cut, breaded and fried the end bits are always tough or chewy. This was light and flaky, this made me happy. The French fries were hand cut and cooked to perfection. Crispy outside soft inside and seasoned well. Great prices too. I signed up for the email list to get the specials sent when available. I was hooked. Hmm... fish pun. When I went back today, fish stew and whole fried sardines caught my eye. The fish stew was great. Amazing flavor. Tomato base, nice seasoning, plenty of fish. Keith told me to put a dollop of sour cream in it. It changed my life. The sardines were blackened just right, garlic and cilantro sauce made my lips tingle and I devoured them from tip to tail. Don't judge me, you weren't there. It was magic. If you know this spot, please pass the good word around. If you have not been in, please check it out. I need to keep the Quarterdeck in my life.

Ordered take out for the first time today - I ordered coconut curry mussels and fish & chips. They called me back t o tell me they were out of mussels, so went with two orders of fish & chips. The fish was pretty good - small pieces, good coleslaw - but the fries were inedible. Very overcooked and hard (seemed as if they were from the previous day) and I chipped a tooth on one! I will give them one more try - but two strikes and you're out in my book - so one more to go!

Grilled Bluefish from the takeout menu was super. Best bluefish I've had in a long time!

This is my 'go to' place to buy fresh seafood. I can find some types of fish I can't find elsewhere. If I want something they don't have, I can request it in advance and they will try to get it for me. Their prepared foods are good because the owner cooks for various events or at restaurants featuring their seafood and it always taste good. Get on their email list and get daily updates of what they have. They recently started giving featured seafood cooking/dinner classes. Their fresh homemade tortilla chips are delicious along with their salsa.

Having moved to Acton 2 years ago, it was on my to do list to get over to the Quarterdeck and try their clam chowder and fish chowder. I knew for sure it would be the best I had ever tasted..... NOT. I finally got there and bought some to try on Easter with the family. What a disappointment. The fish chowder had more flavor than the clam chowder and big chunks of fish, so it was okay, but nothing I would go out of my way for. The clam chowder had no flavor at all, and minimal clams in it. They seemed to have a decent selection of fresh fish the day I was there, but I was more interested in the chowder. If that's your interest too, look elsewhere.

This place has been around for awhile and almost as long as I have lived in Concord. The selection is very good and we love fresh fish. There is always a catch avialable that makes me change my mind. Just the other day I swung in for haddock and left with an incredible fillet of mahi. Ahhh to bring me back to Key West and the mahi sandwiches at the Sunset Key pool. Not to bore you with my recipe but the fillet was thick and perfect for our sandwiches on a cold fall day. For later in the day (game time) we added some of their stuffed scallops which I thought were just pretty good. Easy to cook and one of those perfect game day treats. Always at least 4 selection of oysters, and on occassion my favorite the Wellfleets. If you are fussy seafood buyer, give this spot a try. And speaking of trying, I can't help but to swing into Cast Iron right next door for a quick martini before heading home!
