Pearl Street is consistently good. Turkey Tips, Steak Tips, Prime Rib...all are delicious. Great atmosphere and a friendly staff. They even serve tall Pabst Blue Ribbon right in the can and it's FROSTY! If you haven't been in a while it's time to come back!

This is one of few local places of Malden that I feel I can write a raving review. Besides the fact that this place is located a short 10 minute walk from me, they have great dinners, offer take out/delivery and evening entertainment. The first thing you will notice when you come here is that it has some history behind it. At one time this was a train station back in the day. When you walk in and look around you will feel inclined to daydream about the days your Grandparents lived when things were so simple - no cell phones, white pickett fences, eating dinner with your family everynight and then relax in the den. We certainly don't live in that era any more. However what this place does provide is charm as there are old antiques and pictures displayed to check out and they provide a nice dinner, and entertainment for those nights you don't want to venture far. As far as dinner goes I absolutely recommend the pizza. Mmmm mmm. Very tasty, bar style and cooked to perfection with out being burnt but having a nice crunchy crust. Other items to try are their Steak Tips which are marinated just right that they melt in your mouth servied iwth rice pilaf and salad and the burgers. I haven't ventured further on the menu, but by the looks of all the dinners I've seen on other tables you can't go wrong. Decent prices and huge portions. You'll defintely have some to bring home. On the other side of things is Kareoke on Friday and Saturday nights. Now I'm not one in the blindest of drunkeness to get up and belt out a ballad, but what I have had is an entertaining night of watching the braves ones that do. This is a hot spot for some serious yoko loco's as the crowds go crazy for some of the regular crooners including this Chinese Tom Jones - who surprisingly enough belts out "When the Clock Stikes - dah" like a pro. Certainly is a great night for people watching and it's free entertainment with no cover. Finally if you are feeling lazy and want to stay in, they do offer free delivery of all items on their menu. They are reasonable with delivery times, and your food will show up piping hot. I can't believe it! This ones for the history books for sure - I think I rated something 5 stars for the fist time eva in Malden. Check it for sure if you are a local or spending time in Malden for the evening. :)

Wow, could I really be two for two?! After a string of mediocre and overpriced Boston and Malden bars my last night out included my new two faves. Pearl Street Station is what it is. It's in Malden and so you shouldn't expect much. That's why I gave it 5 stars! I wasn't expecting a place I would like and I LIKE this place. It's in an old converted train station, the Orange line whips by right behind it. Inside, the ceilings are tall and vaulted with wood and there's a huge roaring fire, giving it almost a ski lodge feel. Very homey. It's a karaoke bar, which I am not a fan of, but these folks are alright and the sound system is good making you almost forget that it's drunk townies singing. And there wasn't a dj or whatever (annoying announcer type guy) as far as I would tell. Overall, good atmosphere (GREAT for Malden), fireplace, friendly faces, and reg priced drinks! Only problem is last call is 1:00am.

Pearl Street Station, located near the Malden Center T Station, is perfect when you want a good amount of food but are low on cash. I've only recently discovered this place, thanks to my boyfriend, and now it's one of my favorite local restaurants. Entrees are inexpensive but they give you enough food for two meals. The steak tips are my favorite - they taste like what you would get at a family barbecue. I've had differing experiences with the service. On occasions, service here has been so-so. On my last trip, our waitress Jill was great. She was prompt and friendly but not up our asses. After spending nearly eight years in the restaurant industry, I'm very understanding but picky about service so I greatly appreciate when I get an awesome server. Jill made up for any prior sub par service. Unlike other restaurants in the area, Pearl Street Station has its own parking lot which is great because I loathe looking for parking. It's not fine dining but I'd highly recommend this place. In fact, just writing this review has given me a craving for their potato skins.

Living around the corner from here makes it very convenient and when I'm in the mood for a burger and a beer this is my spot. The interior is like a train station which I'm guessing this used to be since the Orange Line and Commuter rail go right by it. They have an extensive menu but I've stuck with bar food like burgers which always hit the spot.

What can I tell you. I just like Pearl Street Station. I get why a lot of folks aren't as impressed, but it all works for me. Food-wise, you're looking at a very American type place, but its done very well. You've got your pub grub, you've got your burgers, you've got steak, and you've got some very good seafood. Its been a winning formula for chains like the 99, TGI Friday's, Applebee's and countless others. At a real local joint, though, it's just taken up a notch. Can you get a better steak? Sure. But you're not here for the best (and most expenssive) steak money can buy. You're here for a good meal and a decent price. I've gotten a broiled salmon special here on several occassions and I've never been disappointed. Its solidly flavorful and is a great value. Their fries are also really some of the best I've ever had. Really the best feature here, food-wise. They are always done just right. Golden, crispy, and never greasy. The location has a lot of charm, though the decor can be a bit tacky at times. Still, you really get the feel of an old train station and the building is oriented well with a big lobby complete with a pizza take-out window. Moving inside they have a big open area with a big screen TV and plenty of chairs. A compact bar on the left is always busy and the restaurant seating is on a raised level to the rear. Yeah, you'll feel trains rumble by every once and a while, but it just adds to the appeal. Service is what it is. My girlfriend hates it and I can't really argue with her points. We've often had long waits before getting our bill, being served in the first place, and sometimes missed an included salad. Still, I don't think any of those are deal breakers and in a lot of ways adds to the neighborhood feel of the place. It feels very personal, for good or bad, and I liked it. You get some surprisingly good free bread (though you need to tear it apart yourself) with the meal. Unlike every other restaurant on the planet, they don't seem to offer free refills on fountain drinks. If you're looking for a comfortable, neighborhood setting, I'd highly recommend giving Pearl Street Station a try. This is a popular Malden destination, though, so try to come a little early if you're dining on Friday or Saturday.

Pearl Street is da bomb. Pretty much because it's one of two places to hang out in Malden, but it ain't bad for a local hangout. It's typical bar food, so if you are expecting gourmet don't go here (although the Nachos are pretty darn tasty). Friday nights is karaoke (starts after the ball game if there's one on) and it's always a riot. A lot of the local cops hang out and let loose, so don't even think about the DUI (Malden District Court is right down the street so a lot of the regulars are off-duty cops, court folks, and attorneys along with the local Maldenites). But, it's cheap food, cheap beer, in a typical bar setting. Tons of fun. Gigantic TV to root for the sox on. And if you want to hear a real Boston accent, you come here.

Wow, folks didn't seem to like it here, did they? Perhaps it's just because I had the experience of going in here with a regular, but I had a very different experience... it was very Cheers-like - everybody knew his name, the servers and barstaff were all very attentive, and the food was highly tasty. There was a problem with the restroom, but when I told a lady at the bar, she had it taken care of immediately. It was a very pleasant experience. This seems like a very comfy sort of bar/restaurant. Good comfort-style food (try the pork chops and garlic mashed potatoes!) and reasonable prices... $10-$15 for an entree, $4-$7 for alcohol, and it has its very own parking lot. My advice: find a regular and go check it out. That seems to have been my good luck ticket!

Great place to eat. Drinks can be a little on the high side. Deb and art the karaoke djs are great. Lots of good singers, great sound system and nice high ceilings to let your song just flow thru the room. A+ with the only negatives being the lack of parking when it is busy and the long wait to sing. But the majority of singers are fairly decent. Try it out.

Just mediocre. so so food and service. I like the fire place in winter. I would not recommend this place to anyone.

Pearl Street is one of my favorite local hangouts. It has a unique atmosphere, great food, creative drink menu (pumpkin pie martini in the fall and winter), overall nice crowd, and it's incredibly cheap. They also deliver after 5 PM. The pizza, fajitas, and southwestern pizza appetizer are my favorites. One snowy night in the winter my boyfriend and I checked out the karaoke for a laugh and it was surprisingly fun. There's no mistaking that you're in Malden when you're at Pearl Street, but when you're in the mood for a good meal and drinks with no pretense, this is the place to go.

We love to check out local places and when my husband found out that this place was in an old train station; I knew this would be our next destination. We started with some potato skins and then he had steak tips and I had a bacon cheeseburger. Basic pub food as that was what we were in the mood for. The folks at the table next to us got fajitas and some scallops and they both looked delicious. We also were over in the bar area after dinner watching the Red Sox/Indians game on the big screen and saw some people gettting their pizza...it looks GREAT! We will surely be back!

My wife and I lived close to this place for over a year before finally got around to trying it out. Our verdict: could take it or leave it. I had a cheeseburger, wich was pretty greasy and came sans lettuce and tomato. However, the beer selection was decent. I could see coming here for drinks and appetizers, but wouldn't go back for dinner.

Yep..it's ME again...lol. The Mystery Eater.. at Pearl Street Station. Hummm.. have just reviewed the previous reviews for Pearl Street Station and wasn't impressed. I myself had to see for myself. I went there and it seems I went on a Baseball night.. lots of fans there.. Go Sox... lol. Yepper got a seat in the back in a booth and marveled at all of the train memorabilia there. I could even feel the trains as they went by. Later on I was treated to a very nice night of Karaoke.. goodness gracious. It might just have been the night; but Boston has some really GREAT singers. So if you are into a few drinks and some laughs and even singing or watching the Game.. this would be the place to go. A large variety on the menu for almost everyones taste and a fun time can be had by all. The food is Good.. not the best and far from the worst; but the overall experience should keep you coming back time and time again. Have a great night.. this is the Mystery Eater Signing off ..

This is ambiance, a one time real train station turned Restaurant it is great and I love the fact that it has a Fire Place. It is open and spacious and has several areas where you can dine or just socialize with friends, like sitting in someones Parlor. Many Antiques on display all over the restaurant great food and many conversation pieces. It is really cool :-}

Worst service ever. I'm in the industry and if I ever treated anyone the way I was treated here, by both the server and the manager, I would be fired immediately. The food was only so-so and I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.

Pearl St is a great place to get good food in Malden. Not to mention, you won't find a better place to get Prime Rib delivered. Sure you can go to the Chart House for a $40 Prime Rib, but for the price and quality, it can be a weekly indulgence. Great steak tips too and they serve slices of pizza late. Someone else mentioned it, but Friday and Saturday nights the place explodes with karaoke, and they just added photo hunt. What more can you ask for, for a night out in fabulous Malden?

A friend who got priced out of Cambridge and into Malden "stumbled upon" Pearl St Station several years ago and turned me on to it. And I've been going back (sometimes "stumbling" from) there occasionally ever since. Even in these times of fake Irish pubs and RubyBenniAppleFridays it's not that hard to find generous servings of GOOD bar food at reasonable prices. So why do I make the trip? Wayull...the Friday karaoke is the best and funnest I've found yet, the clientele is that elusive combo of "local" yet welcoming, and there's something about barmaids and waitresses who call you "hon." Plus, while a restaurant in a remodeled old train station isn't the most radical concept, hey, I'm a rail fan and appreciate the props and photos on the walls - and some of the menu wording - despite their predictability. And that fireplace is awesome to park yourself in front of on a cold or damp night.

Wow, what a great place! I have heard good things about this place for years and never could get there. I had to go to Malden the other night and I took a girl I know there for dinner. The food was the best! The menue pretty much has everything you could want the prices are just too good to be true. I had the Chicken Parm and it was probably the best i ever had. I went today for lunch and had a quick bite. I got a sausage with peppers and onion calzone and it was just awesome. I think I have a favorite place to eat. When i walked in I was taken back by the huge fireplace to the right . I was told it used to be an old passenger station for the B&M Railroad and is decorated to that effect. The T trains and commuter rail rumble by and you get that extra feeling of it's railroad days. I am looking for a new apartment and I might have to check out the places in Malden I have been living in Allston for all my life and need a change! Ha Ha.......

I've been here for the karaoke and food and both are great, also it's convenient since it's right off malden t station! All of their meats are really good and marinated well. Can't go wrong with their quesadilla plate either which is enough for two people. They recently remodeled so it looks nicer as well

Hmmmmmm..... *taps chins and thinks to self really hard on how I feel about this place* Well.... first and foremost, I got lost getting here, putting into my GPS 53 Pearl Street. When low and behold, I was wrong and it was really 53 SUMMER STREET! Why, oh, why would you call your place Pearl Street Station Restaurant, when you're no where near Pearl Street?!?! All that aside, I just don't know how I feel about this place. The space is large and great for a party. The pizza, mehhhh.... I think I actually got sick from it the next day, but it may have also been the awful hangover I was having, or a combination of both. OTOH, drinks were cheap. The space was comfortable for a large party. The staff were friendly. And even allowed me to shut down the place with my fellow Army men.

I freakin LOVE Pearl Street! I can remember making the 10 minute walk down Maple Street with my 900 roommates to have a drink and watch the karaoke at this place. Others have said it..and YES - there really is a Chinese Tom Jones. This guy is incredible. He mostly belts out Frank Sinatra. Another dude to be on the lookout for ALWAYS sings this fun song that involves a "BWAACK!" I can't remember the name of it, but this guy is hilarious!!! The ladies go absolutely nuts for him - he has this tantalizing hip shake... Other than that - cheap drinks..good service..yum steak tips and a clean restroom. I'll be there Saturday night!

This is my favorite place in the greater Boston area for karaoke. It right next to the Malden Center T stop on the Orange Line. The food and drinks are awesome (pizza is amazing), and Deb and Art are the great kind of karaoke hosts that put on a really fun show. There's lots of room, and a great sound system. Plus the crowd sings just about everything, and is very supportive of all the singer. They've got some great regulars who really know how to get the crowd going and give them a good laugh. Plus, you can always count on the pizza guy to sing something from the 80's around 11:30pm.

I have no idea how people love this place. My boyfriend ordered a pizza from here and loved it, but we went to dinner - NEVER again. The food was gross, dust was accumulated EVERYWHERE - its like they never clean.

I went here for lunch, the food was great! But the service was horrible considering there were only a handful of people there. It must of taken 15 mins to just get a soda, plus who hands out bread with no plate and then you make a mess all over the table. I may return to this restaurant if it means take out but not sure if I'd want waitress service.

I can only base my review primarily on Karaoke nights. Whenever I'm in the area visiting my sister, this is the place to be on Friday nights. I love it here - in fact, it outshines many bars & karaoke joins near me in Northern CA. I'm a big fan of Johnny R and glad to hear he is back where he belongs @ Pearl! :) The drinks are affordable and tasty (the blue bomb pop is my favorite). The wait staff is a bit rude & unprofessional - the rest of the staff seemed competent, but based on the interactions I've had and seen with some of the waitresses, I don't plan on eating a regular meal here. The crowd is varied - the younger crowd seems to favor the bar area, and the older crowd is out near the karaoke area. Which is just fine with me - I love singing here, they have a great song selection and it is always one of the highlights of my visits to the North Shore.

I know a few people who are fans of Pearl Street Station and I think a restaurant in an old train station is pretty neat, so I was excited to give it a shot. The excitement stopped when I walked in the door. When we first walked in, it seemed like no one worked there. There is a sign that says "please wait to be seated," but the hostess was nowhere in sight despite the place being virtually empty. On the way out of the restaurant, I saw her sitting in a booth chatting with someone, so I assume that's where she was when we walked in. Once you come through the foyer, you have to walk through the bar to get to the dining area. The first thing I noticed walking through was the smell of a dirty bar. Immediately, the sticky, bitter smell of stale beer hit me in the face. I didn't want to judge the whole place based on that though, so I tried to keep an open mind. The waitress came over to take our drink orders within about 30 seconds of us sitting down, so we hadn't even picked up the drink menu. She said she'd give us a few minutes and instead disappeared for about 10 minutes. By the time she got back, we had decided on our drinks and meals. Each table gets a complimentary basket of bread to start, but apparently you don't get any plates to put it on. We ended up making a huge mess eating it with our bare hands over the table since we couldn't find the waitress anywhere to ask for dishes. In my opinion, not only is this not classy, it's not clean. When we finally got our drinks, they came in dirty glasses. However, where it took the waitress so long to get to us, we ended up wiping them down with our napkins and dealing with it. I'm still grossed out thinking about it. The food came and was surprisingly still warm. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't great either. Although this place isn't pricey, the mediocre food is not worth the price. I got the steak tips, which were overcooked but tasty. The mashed potatoes that came with it were approximately 90% butter - they actually glistened. I was not a fan. I will say that although she was pretty inattentive and slow, our waitress was pleasant. I really didn't get a chance to see if that changed though, since she was never around to raise issues with, like the lack of plates or dirty wine glasses. I've heard that this is a good place to go to watch a game, but since I went for dinner, I wouldn't know. What I do know that if you are looking for dinner, there are tons of other places in the Malden-Melrose-Wakefield area that are affordable, cleaner, and more enjoyable.

I am giving it a 3 for now....Three months ago it would have been a 5, a month ago it would have been a ONE. We gave it one more shot last night and we actually got our food at a reasonable time. It has been a hit or miss. My husband of 2 years is new to this area and when I took him here about a year ago for the first time he loved it! He liked the food and the atmosphere, so it became one of our favorite, close to home places to go about every other week for a quick dinner. We loved to sit at the bar to the left of the entrance and play a little trivia game from time to time. Everyone seemed friendly. Then in the last few months everything changed. We would order and wait, and wait and wait. I finally had to call the Vanessa the bartender over and ask her if our food was ready yet after 45 minutes, and she is looking at me with a blank face...we are talking about chicken wings, folks...She comes back and says there was a mix up and someone else got our food. Our pizza came out shortly after that, which shouldnt have taken so long either. No a reason was given. They gave us a beer for the wait. On a work night, I dont want to wait that long for food. We give it another shot and I told my husband I am going to time to see how long it takes and order the same exact food, wings and pizza. Sure enough after 20 minutes, no wings, I ask if they could check on them. The bartender says they take 15 minutes, I then tell her we ordered them going on 25 by now. She checks, we got them shortly after, and then waited for the pizza foir another half hour. there was no one in there. It was 9:30 on a Wednesday. The place was dead. there was no excuse. So last night we went and went to the bar to the right, we ordered our usual, we got the wings in 10 minutes, not lying. and the pizza in 20. I couldnt believe it! We were amazed. I will go again. Sit on that side again, and see if it is just that the other bartenders are just not capable of handling food and booze orders. A friend told me he has heard others complain that service has been terrible so it isn't just us. To go in and wait an hour for a pizza is ridiculous. So hopefully its resolved. What ever the issue was.

Came here for drinks at the recommendation of our waitress at Margarita's - wasn't lucky enough to witness any kareoke but I hear it's a good time and my pipes are a-waitin'... The nearby parking garage is open for free to the bar/restaurant after-hours when it isn't being used for what I assume is court? (parking spaces are labeled for jurors and the like). Free parking, short walk, ding ding! Winnaaa! Walked in and was shocked at how big the place is - big bar to the left, open area to the right, dining room behind.. it goes on and on. We sat at the bar, an old fashioned thing with lots of hardwood both at the bar level and above, where you can find flat screens mounted in the inside so you can watch them from across the bar, which is pretty cool. Attentive bartender made my drink just right and recommended some from the menu, which were great. Drinks were good, just enough kick to make it worth it, and the prices were good too, just under $10 if I remember correctly. I was certainly overdressed but didn't feel uncomfortable - this place has an eclectic mix of clientele -- from the guys across the bar in Harley tees to the lady next to me in a cocktail dress. No one is out of place here, and I love places like that! I would definitely come back (probably in jeans this time) for drinks and hopefully, some kareoke.

Not a fan. This was the first restaurant I went to when I moved to Malden because it was a short walk away from my apartment... and I rarely went back the 3 years I live there. The food was pretty mediocre and the place was dull, but the staff was friendly. Their pizza, which I ordered takeout a few times, is also rather subpar. After a while I just started ordering Dominos in a pinch. Overall, the quality just isn't here and you can find better elsewhere.

i went here the night before I was about to have major surgery and couldn't eat or drink after midnite- a bunch of friends came with me and we had a great night. The food is pretty good (I had the steak tips/chicken/sausage/ribs/everything on the farm combo) and my friend had the steak tip dinner... my friend got pretty jealous of my food since I got a lil bit of everything....BOOYAH. The portions are pretty HUGE. The bar is also pretty big and after I inhaled all my food we moved over to that area and just had some laughs and more drinks! The bartender/ess also came over to take care of our table and was pretty pleasant. i really like that they have a variety of different choices for food and the booths are pretty private and it's an interesting space....it's got that divey neighborhoody vibe without being pretentious or annoying. I had problems trying to not pick at my takeout box after midnite! I was getting the munchies! Bad Jen- Bad!

Visiting friends, tried this place. Food was inexpensive but very average. Wait staff was fairly inattentive until our friend kissed her wife. There was suddenly someone there to tell her "you can't do that here, this is a family restaurant." Really? BIGOTS. We were utterly embarrassed for our gay friends. VOTE WITH YOUR DOLLAR. STAY AWAY.

Place has slid downhill - way downhill since they threw the Deb & Art Karaoke weekend showcase out the door. I think the idea was to turn it into a sports bar.. and it make take them a year until the see that it isn't working. I used to spend about $100 a week in this place but they don't seem to care about the loyal customer base. Currently the bar is littered with a few losers who look for fights and aren't allowed at any other saloon. The food used to be good but since the change-over.. they are cutting corners. My steak tips were never this burnt.

This is my go-to if I feel like getting out of the house with my husband and toddler for pizza, but don't want to sit in a stark pizza shop. Plus, the pizzas are very good. Service is very casual, but always nice. Very kid friendly (though I've never gone on a Friday or Saturday night).

Pearl Street has been "my" place for the last two years. Why? Because I have never been disappointed with food, drink, or service. I love to sit at the bar as I feel at home there. Vanessa, Amy, Kerri, and others make the perfect martini. The short ribs are incredible! If you are lucky enough to get there on a Friday or Saturday, do yourself a favor and get the prime rib. Wish they had it every night!! The only thing I haven't tried is the pizza, because I can't eat a whole one myself. Turkey tips, Ravioli, Haddock, sizzling sirloin, surf and turf, and sweet and spicy scallops. Great Italian bread and salad with house dressing. Pearl St., you set a high standard. Wish I was there now!!

I visited the restaurant yesterday to purchase the half price appetizers, which I think is a very good deal. I would just like to put out a big "Thank you" to DawnMarie, who waited on me. Her service was over and above the service that I have experienced in the past when dining there. She was attentive, personable, quick and very helpful. The restaurant was busy at the bar, where we were sitting and DawnMarie was able to take care of not only customers but replenish the supplies at the same time. Even when she finished her shift, I saw her come back and take care of customers in need. I feel that she is the best bartender at Pearl Street. Kudos DawnMarie, you made my evening so enjoyable.

NEVER COMING TO THIS PLACE AGAIN!!! The owner of this establishment is a bigoted mysonginistic prick. I have been coming to this restaurant for while now but after my most recent experience, I will be taking my business elsewhere. I don't know where they get off treating customers the way they do especially in this day and age. They won't survive and the place is always empty anyway. They are lucky I didn't contact the better business bureau.

Tonight was my first time to the Pearl Street Station, I am a big Dockside fan. The Clam Chowder was amazing, then my steaktips were really good, not better than Doyle's in JP but really good. The garlic mashed potatoes were awesome. Being in this old train station is really cool too.

Ok - up to 5 stars... that one bad experience with the waitress must have been a fluke! I have been back here at least a dozen more times and have no problems with the service or food. The steak tips are still the best I have ever had, and I love love love the clam chowder. Mike the bartender and Betsy the hostess/waitress are the best! Head here for a night of good food and drinks, and a relaxed atmosphere that make you feel like family.

So I guess this place is decent for Malden. But overall, it's pretty mediocre methinks. Two and a half stars. We actually headed into Malden Friday night because we wanted to try Artichokes. But then we got there and found that it had closed and/or been re-opened as another restaurant. It was pretty empty inside, so we just decided to take our chances and drive around looking for something else. We randomly passed Pearl Street Station, and it looked cool, so we decided to give it a shot. We were seated in a nice booth, and I was enjoying the train-themed walls and decor. Then the waitress came over and I asked if they had freshly brewed iced tea. They didn't. So I asked for a water with lemon. Instead, I was presented with a water with lime. Blech. Maybe I'm being overly picky, but lime doesn't really do anything good for water. The menu was pretty limited for vegetarians. They had a couple of vegetarian pasta dishes, an eggplant parm dish, and some pizzas that could be made vegetarian. The mister ordered the eggplant parm and I opted for a pizza with jalapenos and mushrooms. The eggplant arrived long before the pizza did, which the waitress apologized for, citing a backup in the pizza kitchen, but he was done eating before my pizza even arrived. That's a bit of a problem in my book. I had a couple bites of the eggplant, and it was kind of greasy and less than great. When the pizza finally came, it was ok. It was thin, and the toppings were good, but it wasn't anything to write home about. Prices were a bit steep considering the location ($13 for a slice of mediocre eggplant). The waitress was nice enough, and I know it's not her fault that the kitchen got backed up. But overall, there are too many other places around that make better food for less money. So we probably won't be returning.

Outstanding meal! We decided to do take out for dinner but wanted a real meal and Pearl Street Station didn't disappoint! The BBQ Baby Back ribs were HUGE, the burgers were delish, the Baked Mac and Cheese special was really tasty and the Prime Rib dinner (a special only available on Friday and Saturday nights) was amazing... even as a take out! Six of us ate well for $85 - very reasonable. Our order was ready in less than 25 minutes on a Saturday night. They have a take out counter which is convenient and the guy workign with friendly even thought he was working hard! We have eaten in and always had a great experience and now we can add them as another take out option! Free parking was a plus!

No complaints about this place. It's definitely a small town, family, neighborhood bar and grill. When I walked in, I didn't know if I was at a casino or restaurant. They provide row seating to watch games. It looks like that's where the regulars commune. The seating was prompt and the waitress was very helpful. The prices are very low. A Sam Adams is $4.75 for a 20 oz. The terriyaki wings are ok, nothing to write home about, but not bad either. The garden pizza is quite good, but the veggies made it a little damp. Overall, a good experience. There is even a chance to win a free meal if the number on your receipt matches the number picked from a jar.

I had dinner tonight, the waitress Cindy, provided less than acceptable service. We gave her a 10% tip which was too much and she had the balls to approach our table and ask if the "beer was hot, or the food not good" as the tip was inappropriate and she held out her hand demanding more money for a tip. I proceeded to tell her that tips are earned and in our perspective she was paid too much, she said 10% was 30 years ago. She was a very confrontative witch, if I was the owner, I would have fired her for confronting my customers this way. I have been there many times before and always had excellent service. This witch should be fired!!!

My girlfriend and I were looking for a new bar to watch the Bruins at so we decided to try here. I had heard their steak tips were amazing. Free parking to start. Walked in and the place was empty but filled up soon (more on that) waitress came took our drinks had some knowledge of beer offerings and recommendations. Anyways ordered food and I went with the BBQ steak tips (which were amazing! About the only good thing in this expierence) my girlfriend ordered a calzone. Then the waitress explained that it takes time for the calzone because it comes from their other kitchen. Ok I get that that's fine but ingot mine a good 15-20 mind before it came out and was practically done already. You think she would've timed it or at least put one in before the other so they both would come out together... Then it get close to game time and the place starts filing up. We're eating drinking enjoying the game. Then our waitress who disappears and goes and talks to some of the regulars, comes over as we're eating and asks us if she CAN MOVE US TO ANOTHER TABLE to accommodate another party!!!!! I eat out a fair amount and I have to say this was a first. Shocker she knew the party and wanted to hook them up with good seats. Long story short the town of Malden is filled with Townies. I respect the regs but my money is green too. So we got moved to a wicked small table up front by the bar. You think being close to the bar you'd get your drinks faster...NOPE! Our waitress was more involved with chatting then asking how we were doing or if we needed anything. Being at a such a tiny table a pushed my plate knocked Over my brew. Our waitress saw and didn't even come over but offered 3 napkins!!!! Awesome. We asked for a check and paid promptly and left immediately! Only reason why this review is not a one star is because the food was really good, ESP the steak tips!

I've been here three times.... the first was for apps and drinks. That was fine...delicious, normal. The second time we had dinner and got the haddock. It was pretty good. Not phenomenal but pretty good. The third time around we took my girlfriend's parents. I got the haddock again because it was decent the previous time. There were bones. One is excusable. But many is just poor preparation. No good. Bad news bears. No thank you.

I can only comment on the Open Mic that is hosted here. This spot is really a blast from the past, in terms of architecture.

Lots of old standbys Nothing too adventurous Great entertainment Pearl Street seems to be the place to go in Malden if you don't want to hang with the frat boys (Hugh O'Neils) and can't curry favor with the monied crowd (Exchange St. Bistro). It's a much more "normal" bar experience, for a decent price and regular American fare. The food is served in fairly big portions, especially the baby back ribs. Their menu is pretty much what you'd expect: burgers, some pizza, pasta, chicken and seafood. It's a hearty meal, but nothing terribly impressive. One interesting, albeit strange practice here is at the end of the meal they take the last two digits of your check and pull some numbers from an Absolut bottle. If the number matches, you get your meal for free. The real bonanza experience at Pearl St. is the karaoke on weekends. People come out of the woodwork for this performance, turning all the chairs and tables in the lounge area to face the big TV and turning the volume up to 11. There seems to be a mix of regular performers who have their act down, which always makes things fun. Oh, there are also costumes (hats, boas, etc.) to liven up the (occasionally bad) singing. Some gripes. The whole time we were there, including on our arrival, there seemed to be no discernable hostess to seat people, just some floater who glanced at the door occasionally and tried to spot people coming in. This was especially irritating when the folks who walked in after us were seated first. Saw that happen a few times. This was 7:30 on a Friday, you've got to have someone watching that door.

Pearl Street Station is a cute Bar that used to be a train station and is a good place to take in a game. I ordered a Ham and Cheese Melt with fries and it was okay but nothing to write home about. Standard bar food. I think the service at the bar is terrible. I returned here to have a beer and waited about 15 minutes before anyone took my drink order. Even then, not friendly service. When I was done with my beer I waited with cash in hand for another 10 minutes for Change. How about some service at the bar please? There were 2 people working who were in the bar and they could clearly see me but did nothing. You know when service at a Bar is so bad you don't leave a tip? Yeah, that bad. Had to drop to 1 star after reading Paul P's review. If this is true these people are bigots and I will never spend another dollar here. Try running your restaurant a little better and worry less about shaming gays and lesbians!

It's a solid place for dinner, I've been here many times with my parents. It's also a good place if you've got a big mixed crowd with varying degrees of an interest in drinking. It's usually pretty crowded on a weekend night, with a wide array of local folks. It's pretty no-frills; it's a bar restaurant with karaoke. It's called Pearl Street Station and located on Summer Street for 2 reasons. It was originally called Pearl Street Restaurant, and was located on the corner of Pearl Street and Charles Street(where Pisa Pizza is now). That place never could accomodate the crowd. They moved to Summer Street, to a location that used to be a railroad station. So, they kept their name, but adapted it to fit the station theme. It's like a step above Applebee's. I like it.

First, let me start out by saying that the only reason we went here was for the Buzz-Time Trivia. My husband loves to play and aside from the Dockside, this was one of the few local places that has the game. We arrived at 5:40 on a Tuesday night. The place was pretty empty. The hostess was on the phone as we stood by the "Please Wait to Be Seated" sign. It was definitely not a business call. It was about a minute before she put her call on hold and acknowledged us. She brought us to our table. No pleasantries, no small talk. No big loss as she seemed fairly apathetic anyway.... Our waitress came over and asked us if we wanted beverages. I asked what type of soda they had, Coke or Pepsi (I'm a Coke Zero fiend) She tells me... "Cola" WTF does that mean?? I asked again, Coke or Pepsi? and again she repeats, "cola" I ordered a water. Hubby then asked if there was any way we could move our seats so he could see the TV to play Trivia. She was not happy and let us know by saying... "I guess I can close out the tab I already started and sit you over by so and so and she can take care of you" Just by the heavy sigh, eye roll and tone, Hubby felt he was better off just staying put (If there was to be another visit-which there won't be-but if there was, we'd ask to sit by the TV before we were seated) They give you very mediocre (sub?) bread with butter but no plates. I'd rather not use the place mat or the table as my bread plate but had no choice. It made a HUGE mess and is not very sanitary. The menu is extensive and everything looked decent. The actual menu itself however was very old and ripped. Could've used a good wipe down Appetizer: Steak Quesadilla. Taste was great. Presentation sucked. Crispy Quesadilla sitting on soggy bed of lettuce with salsa juice and sour cream all over everything. How about putting the condiments in little portion cups so it does not look like a big pink mess on the plate? The steak was tasty and tender. Price was OK.. 10.95 I think My Meal: Mac N Cheese. Looked Good. First few bites were ok. There was an aftertaste that I could not pinpoint that made it really unappealing. . Macaroni was mushy and the bacon was rubbery. To be honest, Kraft would have been preferable. Price was 8.95. Portion was OK but not if you don't eat any of it! Hubby's Meal: Steak Tips and Garlic Mashed: Looked Good. Garlic Mashed were tasty. They actually tasted REAL. The steak tips were a little overcooked for "medium" but they were tender. Hubby did not like the marinade- said it was too sweet for his taste. I was disappointed at the portion/price. I think he got 4 or 5 tips for 13.95. If you want a worthwhile portion for a great price- try Floramos! All in all it was disappointing. The customer service is really lacking. The food was just OK. I do not think there was anything that would prompt us to return. (As a side note, the bartender did try to put the Trivia on a larger screen for Hubby but was unsuccessful- I give her props for being the only service oriented person I saw that night)

A decent local bar-type restaurant. They have karaoke a couple nights a week. Go here when you're in the mood for "local culture" and just chillin'.

First, Pearl Street Station no longer delivers :-( Second, the cost for a domestic beer went up to just over $4.00. IMHO, this is not good for a "Sports" type bar. Food has always been good. One of my favorite dishes is the Short Rib Dinner. Comfort food at it's best. Don't be afraid to ask for extra carrots and gravy. All said, the beer/booze killed that 4th star. I give it 3 stars. Extensive menu, pretty normal food. Nothing fancy or new - a little Italian, a little Mexican, a little American. Good homestyle pub food. Good place to grab a bite and a beer. Reasonably priced too. Interior is dark and seems outdated, but service is good. Feels like you are in a train station, not only with the decor, but also you can feel the vibrations of the Orange Line going by.

You have a very delicious seafood platter....mmmmmmmm. You would have got a 5 but I hate the corny titles for your menu sections and the fact you stop delivering so early.

This place was pretty nice. A great local joint. When we went it was Karaoke night... and there was a huge crowd. My group of 8 or so, got a high top table. Our waitress was good about checking in and getting our drinks. She even accidently brought us more drinks than we ordered (whoops) but it was ok, we drank them. The patrons were of mixed age, so anyone would feel welcomed. I did see some girls with huge slices of pizza that looked really good. So I recommend this place if you are in malden and need a decent watering hole.

Very good food, the Steak Tips are out of this world and so is the CLAM CHOWDER. My wife and I think it's even better than her Grandma's, who held the title for years! The waitresses need to be schooled on the selection of beer though, that's the only reason for 4, and not 5 stars. I saw my beer specifically on tap and I was promptly told by the waitress that they did not carry that brand and I would need to choose something else (I checked before we were sat!). Well, low and behold, we checked with the bartender and they did in fact carry it. Ugh... LEARN YOUR STUFF WAITRESSES! (Still love you though!) Be back in a couple of days! :)

Closest restaurant to my residence and I am lucky for it. There is Karaoke though I have yet to experience it. The TV's make it a decent sport watching venue but it note the reason to attend. Price 3 Pizza 4 (recommended) Burgers 2 Ribs 1 Steaks tips 4 (good) Pasta 3 Chicken 1 (wings disappoint) Drinks 3 (price and size) Service 4 (friendly staff) Parking 5 Location 4 (Close to T, out of Boston)

Pearl Street Station is not exactly glamorous or in an exciting neighborhood, but when my sister and her 2 friends came to town to visit, I chose this place based on the positive Yelp reviews and diverse menu. In the group alone, we had somebody who needed gluten-free choices, another who wanted to eat healthy, and then 3 of us who had no idea what we were in the mood for. The restaurant offers everything from pizza to prime rib to seafood to burgers so I figured this would satisfy all of our taste buds. Our waitress was funny and sassy. I didn't know what I wanted since the menu was overwhelming and I wasn't in the mood for anything in particular so I asked her for suggestions. She gave me several and I think she was offended when I ended up picking something basic such as shrimp scampi. She made a final plea to try one of their better dishes and I am so glad I went with her recommendation. I can't seem to find it on their online menu but it was some sort of sweet and sour glazed shrimp over rice dish, which made my fellow diners laugh since it sounded very Asian-like. But goddamnit, I ate every bite of it because it was amazing and because I didn't want to upset our waitress. Okay, it was really for the first reason . . . so much for being careful about my portion sizes! Within the rest of our group, my sister got a spinach calzone which was humongous and heavier than my sister's head. I tried a bit the next day (there were def. leftovers) and it was quite tasty. My sister's friend got the steak tips which they are known for and she seemed pleased (then again she was slightly inebriated). I can't recall what the other 2 members in our party had but we all agreed portions were generous and the food was really good all around. It's rare for a restaurant to excel in all areas on the menu but this place does. And valuewise, for 5 people, dinner and drinks came out to only a little over $100! Besides the food, there are many other perks to this place: 1. Karaoke: We stayed after dinner for Friday night karaoke and we did indeed hear the Chinese Tom Jones guy sing. He was belted the hell out of "She Works Hard for the Money" and a happy middle-aged man who sang Rick Astley's "Never Gonna Give You Up" complete with his own dance moves and back-up dancers. The good thing is that there are stars and there are people who suck but it's not competitive and the crowd cheers everybody on. You can tell there are people who are regulars here, but if you're a noob, they welcome you too. 2. Free Meal potential: They have bottles with numbers written on little pieces of cork (I think) inside and they shake it up at the end of the meal. If the number that falls out matches the last two numbers of your meal total, you get the meal for free. We think that this is rigged and they secretly have two bottles, one with odd and one with even numbers, but it's still fun to play! Even if not, again, the meal is decently priced. 3. Cheap and wide drink menu: They have everything from beers to girlie cocktails to wine and the drinks were pretty cheap. 4. Parking: There is plenty of street parking nearby after hours and also the lot adjacent to the joint which is free at night. 5. Decor: I love the train station theme! Much nicer and more quaint than Kingston Station in Boston. I definitely can't wait to go back and try the Prime Rib special, the pizza, and more. And of course, to watch the karaoke.

Other then the rather large interior and unique exterior design this reminds me of a lot of other joints found in Malden, Revere, Chelsea etc in that tips seem to be the safe choice. Went for lunch recently and was surprised by the expansive menu from salads to pizza to BBQ. We started with a decent boneless buffalo wings then 2 of us settled on the turkey tips and the other the scallops. The tips were moist and tasty with great fries. We all left full and ate for are $20 each which was great for what we got

I keep forgetting that this is a local eating option because I just walk by it everyday and it's become the background to my semi-lucid to and from work walks to the T. The food is fine, as long as you're not expecting inventive fare and are cool with chowing down on pub food and pizza. The beers are tap are pretty crappy but it's to be expected from a "local's" kind of place. The real reason to go to Pearl Street is the Friday night karaoke. Chinese Tom Jones and the old guy that rocks out by the door are just a couple of the frequenters. My roommates and I walk here if we're bored just to people watch and see how many slurry souls will hit on us. It's fun. Oh yea, I almost forgot. The weirdest thing happened to me here when I ordered an amaretto sour: they put a fucking green olive in it instead of a marachino cherry. I was rendered speechless. All part of the charm, I say.

Four beers, huge super nacho appetizer, comfortable bar stools, and great bartenders: I love this place. This week's girls night consisted of us going to a collage class (barf) and then hitting up the Pearl for food and eye candy. We only found half of that at the Pearl, but the other 3 people in the restaurant were average looking and didn't start fights with us. That's cool. Really awesome interior - and when the actual train goes by the restaurant, the entire place shudders... Kind of like in the movie Ghost where Patrick Swayze is trying to move the can in the tunnel and he meets that scary ghost who breaks open the vending machine because he has an anger management problem.

We liked the decor - like Victoria Station in Salem only less "British". Lots of space, and we had a great view of the big screen TV - which is something they accommodated us on. The staff was friendly, if not a little slow. Food was average - I ordered BBQ chicken and mixed veggies. The veggies were a bit greasy and I thought the entree was small for the price ($13.95). The Boy ordered steak tips and fries and his meal was absolutely AWESOME. The steak was so tender! I'd totally go again and stick to the steak. Best part? They do this bingo thing with your check before you pay. If they draw the last 2 numbers on your check, you don't pay for your meal.

Let me start off with this " I'm too busy to get you a water" is not a way to be served. Bartenders talking to their friends at the bar. instead of serving the customer. it's never a good sign.

Pearl Street is a cool townie bar/restaurant that is a good place to grab pub food and watch a game. They've got two good-sized bar areas with plenty of tvs, and they even serve decent pizza late night so it's a fun stop on the walk home.

I love this place because the food is very solid and dependable. It's several steps up from your standard chain like Applebee's, etc., but the prices are still reasonable. My favorites are the pizzas (probably the best in the area) and the broiled scallops. For the greater Malden/Melrose area, it's one of our go-to spots. This is also a great place to take your kids - loud enough so your family won't stand out but not too loud, big booths with big seat backs so your noise is contained to a degree, and very friendly wait staff. It's my 5-year-old's favorite restaurant, which he calls the Choo-Choo Restaurant.

Pearl Street Station - weird name because it doesn't give me the sense that it's a restaurant. But inside it's large and in charge. Nice decor, lots of TV's because it's a Family/Bar place and there's a picture of Babe Ruth in the back - and he's wearing a Yankee's outfit - I was totally fine with this place after that! Ordered the "carnivore's special" (thanks Michelle - love the name) everything meaty on it! Ribs, lamb, steak tips and a sausage with their french fries (which are those great big steak fries) - it's cooked to your liking - I love steak medium and lamb well - all came the way I wanted. I totally loved loved the steak tips - totally tender and lovely on my tongue! the ribs were large and well cooked - would have like a wee bit more bbq sauce. The lamb was succulent (oh baby lamb is becoming my BEEF!) The sausage was sweet and I wish I thought about ordering it hot - don't even know if they have that option. I ordered their potato skins - not a fan - too greasy and the cheese seemed like it was liquid'y. Hubbie thinks they were deep-fried, I prefer them in the oven. I also ordered the ceasar salad - would have been nicer with ceasar dressing instead of italian and shaved parmesean cheese (tho I'm a Ceasar Salad Snob - ask anyone) The waitress had great jewelry on but wasn't overly friendly but that's ok - I wasn't in the mood to chatter with her when me and my girls are at the table. The drinks come in a large mug so it was nice that I wasn't tapped out too soon. It wasn't that loud but I hear they have Karoeke which is cool and it's censored so no cursing! yay! All in all - I would recommend it for an evening with your buds.

I have been going here for years and should have reviewed this place a while ago. Key Points for Awesomeness: Food. Best BBQ in the area. Outstanding Pizza, Hot Dogs with chili are cheap and rock. Atmosphere. I used to love the high ceilings when you could smoke in bars because you could go here and not wreak of butts, now i just love the high ceilings, the fireplace is literally AWESOME and i think it was build in the 1800's or earlier. Service. Can't be beat all the waitstaff are very cool. This is my standby when considering where to go in Malden J

This place is definitely a townie restaurant. But in a good way. Let me explain... Apparently, Pearl Street is the former home of the B&M Railroad Station (Boston & Maine for those of you not in the know). The inside decor is warm and inviting, and I immediately thought of my Dad when I saw the GIGANTIC railroad crossing sign as we entered. They have a rather large lounge area, complete with a huge TV. After being there for a while I honestly thought I was in a friends living room instead of at a restaurant. I started out with a Blue Hawaiian Coconut drink which was very tasty, and very blue. I munched on a couple of the onion rings, and I wasn't impressed because they were fairly dry. The Buffalo wings were tasty, but not the best I've had. The pizzas on the other hand were magnificent! The 4 cheese pizza was full of cheesy goodness, the rib pizza (yes, actual ribs!) was surprisingly tasty, even though the ribs did taste a tad too overcooked. The Buffalo Chicken pizza was also pretty tasty, however I could have used a little more hot sauce on it. Overall, those pies were pretty awesome. You can tell that a lot of regulars hang out here, and I can really see why. While our party didn't directly deal with the staff, as I was waiting for my drinks, I could tell they bartenders were good people. I definitely wouldn't mind coming back here in the future.

When I think Pearl Street Station, I think steak tips. You can smell the grilled meats from the parking lot. Here's a tip for you: if you order them medium-well, they'll come medium-well. If you order them medium, they'll come medium. Expect it. Also expect them to be tender, bathed in their juicy marinade. The burgers are another good choice. Nice wide patties that fit on a bulkie roll. Vegetable sides (broccoli bathed in garlic and melted butter) are healthy in size, not necessarily healthy for you. I've also tried some of the pizza, an impressive thin crust. Lots of other choices on the menu, but I'll stick with the grilled meats at Pearl Street.

A few of us threw Chere her farewell party here a few weeks ago. We chose it because A) Its one of her favorite places and B) They were really accommodating. Their pizza was just ok, but I only tried one type and others liked a few different ones much better than the Buffalo Chicken I had. It was too oily. If you buy a bottle of wine you get five glasses of wine. I split this with someone so we only paid $10 each. That is pretty good for 2.5 glasses of wine. We got to take the 2nd bottle that we ordered home (We only finished half) Besides the pizza, what's not to like? Seriously? Just because it is in Medford puts a lot of people off. It is a bit tricky to get to - some people think it is on Pearl Street. It isn't! I even put it in the evite - but alas, I can't help where it is located. It is on Summer Street! It's tricky due to the name, but my mapquest directions brought me right to it with no problem. There is nothing fancy or pretentious and they were very accommodating to our party of almost 30! They have karaoke some nights and a cool little lounge in the front where we were located. Check it out if you are in the area!

I came here for Chere's going away party, and so I was with fantastic company, but that said I would not return to this place. The space is kind of cool, I suppose, but it is also FREEZING! I spent the whole night bundled up, even after a couple of drinks. High ceilings and unique spaces are good, but not if there's no heat and it's cold out. I ordered an expensive and unimpressive glass of pinot grigrio. If I am going to pay $10 for a mediocre glass of wine it better be a huge pour, which it wasnt, the glass was tiny. Plus, service at the bar was abysmal. The pizza was ok, but i'm not a big pizza/bar food person anyway. Meh.

I've lived in the area for years, and have always been a big fan of this place. It's comfy, homey, and friendly. We always sit at the bar, and the service is excellent. The tips are spectacular! Particularly the turkey tips and lamb tips. And one of my favorite features, the cheeseburger sliders, were the best I've had ANYWHERE! But they're now off the menu because not enough people ordered them. People, please ask for them to bring them back! I've never tried the pizza there, but I will now, after all the raves here!

I recently came here for a friend's birthday party. I have to say, when I first walked in, I was excited because the atmosphere seemed relaxed and chill with fun decor. However, this was quickly changed due to the horrendous service we received. We had to ask our waitress three - THREE! - times for some water, and then another two times for barbecue sauce for our chicken. The food (I got a pizza!) was decent at best. I'm pretty sure I'm not going to be quick to come back based on the service, and the fact that the food was really not that great. Also -- they cancelled karaoke due to the Bruins, which makes sense as it is Boston :), but still kind of inconsiderate to people who had been planning it for some time.

This restaurant is horrible. The manager is rude. The baked haddock was thrown on and plate and over seasoned. The turkey tips gave me heart burn. I would NEVER order a meal there. $15.75 for baked haddock crap! They may be OK for drinks and pizza... but I would NEVER order anything else. This place is an embarassment to be called a restaurant.

When I get together with my boyz, this is where we meet. I like the Sinatra pic as you walk in. That's my boy! Does that sound weird? My friends work in the railroad industry, and I like to chew them out about how horrible the T is while eating and drinking here. We always have a great time. Nice and big. I like the decorations. Food is always real solid. Service is fine. The beers are good - they usually have Sam Summer or Octoberfest before anyone else which rocks. And - they have a tiny arcade where I can play some pinball cause I'm always the first to show up anyhow. I like pinball. This is one of the best local restaurants here.

It is an alright place, I would go there from time to time if I lived near it, but it is not a destination place in terms of crossing The Neponset to go there. The AC was so cold that Grandma had to leave to get a sweater. There was hardly anyone in there when similar places we go to around home would not be so deserted. The hamburger was ok, the salad kinda meh. The building, an old Boston and Maine Railroad Station, is excellent. It is too bad that they bricked in every single window, light must have streamed in back in the day, but it is tomb like now.

Terrible area. Dirty. Unsanitary. Service is subpar. Needs a younger crowd. You walk into what looks like a dark room full elderly people with elderly staff. The host is never at the host stand. You wait for a table even though its usually empty. Food usually comes out pretty quick. The food is not too terrible but you can tell it is not the nicest of quality. The servers sit around in the dining room when not busy, which looks very unprofessional. They pull a number out of an empty vodka bottle at the end of the meal, which is very dive bar like. Both the bar areas are very dive bar like as well. I would not call Pear Street Station, which is not on Pearl st. anymore, a very classy restaurant. They have a lot of work to do.

Can't say I'm a fan. Ended up eating lunch here during a jury duty stint. Forgettable food, inexplicable service, and surprisingly lovable gimmicks. The food wasn't great; just your standard American restaurant fare. Perhaps it was because it was a dead time? Despite being one of two groups in the restaurant at the time, service was incredibly slow as well. Friendly, but generally inattentive. Again, maybe it was because it was a dead time? The rumble of the subway going by and the random lotto to get a free meal is cool, but honestly not enough to save this place.

Generally, I like to avoid writing negative reviews. I've worked in many restaurants, and I know that things happen - but what I experienced today, having made the mistake of going to this seemingly-nice little restaurant/bar near my house - that was completely unacceptable. Another poster mentioned the food: that was the single positive quality of my visit today. I walked in sometime around 1:45 (that's about two hours after they've opened) and I sit down. There's not that many people in the restaurant at this point, (maybe 10 or 12 people total) I wasn't spoken to for at least fifteen minutes. Not because the waitress/bartender was busy - she was just GONE. I don't know where she was, but a couple walked in and looked as confused as I was. Secondly - after I was told "Be with you in a sec, honey" and another 5 or so minutes had gone by, I had my drink. It took an additional 5 minutes AFTER I got my drink for the kind bartender to ask me if I'd like to see a menu. I've been here, at this point, 25 minutes, and I'd not even gotten an order in. Finally, I ordered at the 35 minute point. After what seemed like forever, I got my food. I looked at the clock as I got it - 2:45. It had been ONE HOUR since I walked in, and it was maybe 15% full. The food was decent - I was particularly fond of the fries. My main gripe is this: if the bartender was not there for a full 15 minutes, (maybe she was taking care of something) why did the other two people (that I saw) on the waitstaff not even stop by and tell me I'll be talked to in a little? Sorry for the delay, it's just going to be a little while longer. All of this equates into a far less-than-stellar experience overall. I don't think I'll be coming back.

Here's how I feel about Pearl Street. It's one of the only restaurants that I repeatedly go to that has largely, in my experience, underwhelming food. I enjoy new dining experiences and it's rare that I will visit a place twice even when I am blown away by the food. On top of that, the most adventurous beer on the draught list is Harpoon IPA. This paradox is testament to the warm, cozy feeling I get whenever I go to Pearl Street, and that feeling is hard to replicate. Housed in an old train station (and decked out with borderline-kitsch train paraphenelia) and staffed by friendly North Shore-accent touting waitresses and bartendars, Pearl Street offers a wide variety of reasonably-priced food that, while it may not leave you with a return-craving, certainly won't leave you hungry. Pearl Street is a great place to gather after work with some friends or watch a football game ($.30 wings and NFL Ticket on at least half a dozen TVs). It's also an incredibly baby-friendly place, which might explain my fondness for it. I can let my daughter run around the bar and the patrons will just smile and raise their glasses.

I genuinely enjoy going to pearl street station. The food, service, and atmosphere all greatly contribute to making this place a great place to go whether with family, friends, or alone. First off, the food. The steak tips are absolutely one of my favorite things to get here. The meat is quality and the marinade I am confident I could drink given the right situation. The pizza is delicious, which is probably a direct result of them having part of their restaurant dedicated solely to pizza ovens. On Fridays and Saturdays, they have prime rib which is fairly priced and very satisfying. On the weekends, pearl street offers karaoke if that's your thing (it's most certainly mine). Don't let that spook you, as quite a few of the regular karaoke goers are actually not bad. The majority of the staff are friendly and outgoing and the restaurant seems to be well kept. They have two bars. One is fairly large, while the other is considerably smaller. They have lots of bar tables and plenty of seating in the dining room. There is a parking lot attached to the restaurant, but it is usually full, in which case there's another a short walk away.

From the pitchers of pbr to having 2 bars and plenty of tables to sit I'm a huge fan of this place . Service was great food is fantastic and reasonably priced large portions. You also feel the train as it passes by its feels like something from who framed roger rabbit

A friend wanted to go here. What a horrible place. I sat at the horse shoe bar table and the waitress was too busy talking to guys at the bar to be bothered with my table. When she did come over she was rude and couldn't be bothered. Kerry is a horrible bar server and the bartenders weren't much better. A friend suggested this place and I am ashamed for them of their recommendation. Everyone seemed to be making a big deal out of a pizza guy who was apparently back, I hope the pizza is really that good. I hope he brings in customers because the rest of the staff seems to suck. Not sure when this place opened, but I would not be shocked to hear of them closing. I just wish I could do half a star. The staff I dealt with don't deserve a whole star. This was a horrible waste of money!!!

Although the food at this establishment is fairly decent, I have to say that the karaoke hosts they have on Fridays (Deb and Art...in particular, Art) are very unprofessional. They/he can be rude and obnoxious to those they deem unfavorable. They also tend to be on the "old fashioned" side, not allowing any songs with foul language. Have they forgotten that this place is considered a BAR after hours?? A bar without foul language is pretty unrealistic. Other than all this, this place is fairly roomy and have staff that are just "okay". Just don't bother visiting on a karaoke night. For that, go elsewhere.

Waited over an hour to order then food comes another hour later burnt to a crisp... I posted a pic... No flavoring just burned charcoal. I'm so disappointed... edit: months later pic got taken down of the burnt charcoal food i got because why? lol

Ate dinner on a Sunday night for the first time in a long time. I ordered the chicken Marsala which was good, but oddly enough it was served in a bowl rather than a flat plate? It could have used more sauce but it was tasty. My go to at this place has always been the steak tips, which my date was ate and they per usual were delicious. We had an app the coconut shrimp, they cooked it perfect and the orange marmalade was good as well. Our server was very attentive and helpful as well, I believe her name was Joni. We didn't win a free meal, which is something I have never seen anyone win. However I like the excitement at the end of a meal so kudos to Pearl St. For doing that still ...

This is an all-around great place! Food was great, the service was FANTASTIC, and the restaurant itself is beautiful with great ambiance. I had my 8 month old son and 23 month old son with me and my mother for dinner. We were able to sit in a private booth and our waitress was fantastic. She was patient, kind and super quick with our food and check...everything I could ever hope for. Great place for families and it seems like a really fun place to watch a game.

Pearl st is a disgusting hole that I wouldn't recommend anyone eat or drink at. First they have mice running across the floor as well as dead mice. The people cutting up the fruit do not wear gloves and are nasty. I would say that 90 percent of the employees are on drugs during there shifts and the manager knows and allows it. Not only are they on drugs but they are allowed to drink during their shifts as well, sometimes getting completely intoxicated. One bar tender and waitress actually served an alcoholic beverage to a 7 year old on accident. The place hasn't been cleaned in years and is evident by the amount of fruit flies flying around the liquor bottles. The fruit they use for your drinks are slimey and old not fresh. And when there needs to be repair made to the establishment they have a female employee mickey mouse it together rather than hire a contractor to properly fix it. I would not even give pearl street one star but had to. Have a great day hope this helps.

They charge for soda refills! Great place for a pizza and a beer but if you want an extra soda, be ready to pay $1.75 each time. WHAAAT?!?!?! Hey Pearl Street, a box of syrup for soda cost you close to nothing. You want to know who charges for refills... Chinese food restaurants! I love this place to watch the game, pizza is great, and beer almost always comes in the correct glass (Sam Adams) but the principal of paying for refills in 2013 is absurd. Get your mind right, stuff together, and stop it.

Not a great place.... Walked in saw the "wait to be seated sign" I waited for a few minutes then walked to the bar to ask the bartender to seat us. Food was just not good. I had the Pasta, Chicken & Broccoli. It was a bowl of overcooked Spaghetti drowning in butter, it was plain gross. My friend had steak tips, the order of steak tips was very small, there were 5 small tips on his plate. Could he spare a tip for me... I could not eat the bowl of buttered spaghetti.... I have to say I will not be returning to Pearl St. a very dark restaurant with not good food. The waitress was professional and attentive - I will give a star for her.

Parking: A nightmare Salad Dressing: Doctored Wishbone Italian BBQ Sauce: Doctored Ketchup BBQ meats: Nothing you can't do at home Pasta Dishes: Ronzoni with Prego Take Out: They charge you for 'to go" containers!!! Why don't they charge for a dishwashing fee is you eat in?
(2)Adam S.

(5)Kirs P.
(4)Dachary C.
(4)Hanley R.
Try it out.
(4)Dan C.
These guys revamped and its awesome. Come here for sports, dinner, drinks. Oh and the wings are out of this world awesome!!
(5)Matthew A.
Just mediocre. so so food and service. I like the fire place in winter. I would not recommend this place to anyone.
(2)Leann F.
(5)Ellen S.
(4)Sam S.

This is ambiance, a one time real train station turned Restaurant it is great and I love the fact that it has a Fire Place. It is open and spacious and has several areas where you can dine or just socialize with friends, like sitting in someones Parlor. Many Antiques on display all over the restaurant great food and many conversation pieces. It is really cool :-}
(5)Dale N.
Worst service ever. I'm in the industry and if I ever treated anyone the way I was treated here, by both the server and the manager, I would be fired immediately. The food was only so-so and I would never recommend this restaurant to anyone.
(1)Nathan M.
(4)bella c.
It's OK, that's about I can say...
(2)Spencer L.
(4)Gary K.
(5)Dilly W.
I've been here for the karaoke and food and both are great, also it's convenient since it's right off malden t station! All of their meats are really good and marinated well. Can't go wrong with their quesadilla plate either which is enough for two people. They recently remodeled so it looks nicer as well
(4)Roni E.
(3)Lisa C.
(4)Christopher S.
(5)Jillian H.
I have no idea how people love this place. My boyfriend ordered a pizza from here and loved it, but we went to dinner - NEVER again. The food was gross, dust was accumulated EVERYWHERE - its like they never clean.
(1)Loan V.
(3)S J.

The BEST steak tips ever.......go there at least once a week - Steak tips with garlic mashed.....don't even have to look at a menu - the turkey tips are awesome too. LOVE IT!!!!

One of the bartenders tried to give me the wrong change at the bar. Not sure if it happened to anyone else but I'll never go again.

(3)Stacey G.
This is my go-to if I feel like getting out of the house with my husband and toddler for pizza, but don't want to sit in a stark pizza shop. Plus, the pizzas are very good. Service is very casual, but always nice. Very kid friendly (though I've never gone on a Friday or Saturday night).
(4)Jon K.
(5)Denise T.

(5)Ashley P.

I love the steak tips at this place. Always cooked to perfection, flavorful, and filling. Great prices and the service is pretty good as well.

(3)Mike R.
Mike R.
(3)Sarah F.
(3)Theresa J.
You have a very delicious seafood platter....mmmmmmmm. You would have got a 5 but I hate the corny titles for your menu sections and the fact you stop delivering so early.
(4)Chris M.
(4)Liudmila G.
Consistently great food and very friendly service. Pearl Street Station is a wonderful neighborhood gem, it has a lot to offer to satisfy anyone's palate. Pulled pork sandwich is to die for!!
(4)David P.
(4)Hector I.

(4)Mary B.

(4)Lisa C.
(3)Kevin M.
Let me start off with this " I'm too busy to get you a water" is not a way to be served. Bartenders talking to their friends at the bar. instead of serving the customer. it's never a good sign.
(2)Erik W.

It's a local joint for sure but they have awesome pizza! It also is quite fun to go with friends . I have fun everytime I go there . Watching the karoake it the biggest treat of all. Good place for pizza ,friends, beers and laughs!

It's like going over to a friends house for dinner. Can't go wrong here.

This place is an embarassment to be called a restaurant.

been here a few times. its definitely a quiet family place, or a place for your grandparents to go to. nothing special. its cheap and you get a good amount of food. staff treats you like family. because ive gotten food poisoning here TWICE im giving only 2 stars. i now just ask for my chicken dishes to be cooked extra.

Awesome! So delicious and the amount is huge...Very satisfied about the food.We ordered country style ribs and they are fantastic... The pizza is so big that we couldn't eat them all so we have to pack them up. Definitely I'll come back!

(3)Jacqui R.
