I called ahead to check on gluten free dining, like I always do and was told by Scott, I assume the same Scott as the Executive Chef/Owner, that gluten free items were clearly marked on the menu. Well, they were not. However, our server was gracious and went to ask, coming back with good suggestions. I had the Crunch Burger sans bun and hubby had the Greek Salad with grilled chicken. Mine was excellent. Loved the craft cocktails made with house infused spirits. Great seats outdoors street side with terrific people watching. I'll be back.

I came I. For a table of one which is always a little weird but they didn't make me feel that way. The ladies where warm and understood I was trying to do a little work and left me alone. The beer selection is small but great local stuff and the food was great too. Fun place for a bite

I came with my office on a Friday for a dinner after work during the Folk Festival. The staff is very friendly but just a little slow on the service, but its understandable since its one of their busiest weekends. I ordered the appetizer ribs and was WOWED because the meat just falls off the bone and the flavor is great. Also ordered the Alaskan crab leg with the dip but definitely did not expect to only receive ONE crab leg. *Dually noted, no S at the end of the crab leg means no more than one crab leg* The main courses was fabulous though. Seemed like the chef put a lot of work on the flavors and I enjoyed my entrée very much.

We hit up this place before the Neko Case show a few blocks away, and it was a good choice. Perfect outside weather to take advantage of the al fresco seating, and the menu looked pretty good. My wife had the burger w/ no complaint on her side, and I tried the blackened tuna tacos special. Nice flavors with jalapeno creme fraiche and pineapple salsa, and bonus points for thinking of the customer by providing a holder for the tacos. Maybe with corn tortillas you wouldn't need it, but with floppy flour ones, it was certainly appreciated. The service was attentive and not in your face. Definitely would go back.

Really good food. At first glance the menu didn't strike me as particularly intriguing, but the manor in which the dishes were prepared and served provided remarkable depth and character to deceptively unassuming selections. I was greatly satisfied.

Fuse Bistro is a small but fun downtown Lowell restaurant. We called ahead to reserve a table outside, but they were not able to accommodate us. No problem really as the huge front door is left open on warm nights so you get a sense of the outdoors even when sitting inside. Our waitress, Mandy, did a great job. She was attentive and helpful and had a great sense of humor. Although we did have to wait a bit for our food, it was worth the wait. My Steak and Frites was prepared just how I asked. I don't like a lot of salt on my fries and made a request to go light on the salt. I didn't expect that they would as fries are made in large batches. However, I was pleasantly surprised to find my fries not too salty! Our friends who were with us were hesitant to go. They had been twice before; once was good and once not so good. They were pleasantly surprised at the service and quality of food. We will all definitely be back to Fuse Bistro.

I loved this place. Our server, Cheryl, was fantastic---friendly, fun, kind, attentive. We ordered our app., drinks and dinner at the same time. If I had a complaint it would only be about how long it took the food to come out. It was clear that our server was sorry and worried about that. Food was amazing! Crab dip was so good with homemade chips. Blackberry sangria was delicious too. Fish and chips were great and my husband got raviolis with short ribs which he enjoyed. Because of the delay, our amazing server comped us dessert--cookie ice cream sandwich---yum! Food was slow but delicious---but it was actually a blessing getting to take our time and not feel rushed to turn over the table. Great food---great server---fun ambiance. We'll be back, for sure!

I have never ordered anything that I haven't been happy with. The spring veg cheese dip with cape cod chips is fantastic. Nothing makes me happier than sitting on the Patio on a beautiful day with a lavender lemonade!
(5)Amy V.
The Croque Madame I had here (tomatoes substituted for the ham) was the *best I have ever had*. I don't even have words to describe it. It was just smothered in this glorious cheese-roux sauce ... I can't. There are no words. Presentation wise, it looked like a hot mess, but it was beautiful to me. My husband had some fish tacos, which he had pleasant feelings towards - but he really loved his fries. Out waitress was super charming and welcoming.

First visit Initial greeting was warm! Seated at table in pathway to and from bar and kitchen area... NOT a good thing on the Saturday night we ate. Female Bar tender did come say hi and told us they were out of the italian Pinot Grigio I wanted and he couldn't get the basic beer (mic ultra) bc they only serve bud products... She said she d b back in a few. Then she never came back, honey who never complains stated she's too busy talking w the guys at bar and she's ignoring us. After the conversation of should we leave or stay, it was already 915 pm we opted to stay. We did ask for a "quieter" table and we ended up w a great waitress! He got steak frites and I got filet with sweet potatoes We both were happy w food n service. His vodka tonic was very strong which was perfect !!! Few bumps , but we will try them again

We went here last week with another couple. We started with the BBQ chicken pizza appetizer, and that was great. The pumpkin martinis were pretty good, too. Our Fuse Fuse Crunch Burgers were delicious, and I heard the Braised Boneless Short Rib was great. But the best compliment was for the Crispy Cod Fish "n" Chips, because our dining partner said they were the best he's ever had. Can't wait to go back and try the Crab Dip and other offerings.

tl;dr: great food and service. Initial issues were quickly resolved. My wife and I went to Fuse because the chef was previously at one of our favorite restaurants, Evenfall in Bradford. We missed the excellent and creative cuisine there and we're excited to find out that Fuse had a similar menu. We made reservations, but had to wait a little while to be seated upon arrival. When we were seated, our table was up against an outside wall that was a large door, presumably one that would be open in nice weather. However, it was 20 degrees out and there was a massive draft directly on us. I'm not one to complain about a tiny draft, but this was unreasonable. At this point we weren't very optimistic about the night. We mentioned the issue and the staff immediately moved the table to a better location. Our server was prompt and helpful, and soon we had drinks and salads and were in a much better mood. We shared a Caesar salad that was very Mediterranean -- lots of olives and whole anchovies. Overall, very good. For our meals, our server mentioned an off-menu special of Kobe beef, which we both ordered. The steak was perfect and accompanied by a stellar Demi glacé and well matched sides. We blessed out on the food and ended the night full and happy. Additionally, prices were reasonable given the quality of food and service. The decor was minimal -- nothing special, but ok for a place of that size and scope. Finally, on the way out, the staff apologized again for the initial table issues. They fixed the issues so quickly and everything else was excellent, so we had completely forgotten by that point. Overall a very good experience, despite some initial hiccups. Most importantly, the food was excellent and we will certainly be back.

Tried to have a drink across the street at Tremonte Pizza. Caught in the cross hairs of two live bands.. Lousy band playing at Fuse drowned out the better music next door. Talked to Fuse bartender about it and he just sneared at me. Apparently dueling live bands are often a problem on this street.

Here at the moment been waiting for ten minutes. No one sat us. We waited by the door for fifteen minutes. We finally sat ourselves after a customer told us where to sit. The dining room was empty and the server walked by us twice without even greeting us. Worst service ever. Actually, not the worst since I didn't get any at all after twenty minutes. I am never coming back again. Thanks for your hospitality, not.

Stopped here for lunch on a snowy day. I was very impressed with the luncheon menu. Choices were eclectic and very yummy! I had the tomato basil soup and filet mignon/mushroom reuben with a side of greens. We will be back!

I have to say that Lowell yelp reviews never fail to surprise me - some good places have really low ratings while some really dumpy places have 4.5 stars. Hopefully the Fuse's current rating won't keep people from trying it out - trust me, it's worth it. We love the Fuse. Ever since it has opened it has been our date night staple - every time we swear to try something else, and every time we end up back at the Fuse. The food is delicious, the drinks are strong and they have great music on Thursdays. And yes, we have had a couple of wtf moments ($8 cheese plate with literally two small bites of cheese, I'm looking at you), have sent back a glass of bad wine (which they didn't have any issues with), and have had to wait to get seated, but in all honesty it just doesn't matter. They have great food made with fresh local ingredients, have an amazing beer list and a decent wine selection and the atmosphere is the best in town. Its essence is very similar to the city of Lowell itself - no, it's not the world's most quaint and charming town. It has its rough patches and areas that could use improvement. It's a love it or hate it kind of place, but if you do love it, it will treat you very well and surprise you with just how much it has to offer.

I guess I may not be the target customer, but I was hoping for more from these guys it seems like they chose leftovers to make a menu out of. It was pretty busy though the feel is less comfy than I had hoped. What I would call the manager was a 20 something girl with no class when we asked her for a wine suggestion. She said 'get the kind that you usually like.' Food was OK but seems a but tired, weren't we eating like this is 2003? Drinks were good and inventive with infusions and the like, decent tap beer, and great location save a few stars for Fuse.
(2)Tyler B.
This place went far downhill. Aside from menu changes that reduced the quality of certain meals (hint hint chicken and waffles), changes in management have resulted in a severe change in the level of service. The new servers are unfriendly and not very knowledgable. Unfortunately, we will be dining elsewhere following this experience. It is sad because previously we have found the food and experience to be excellent.
(2)Faustine E.
I am at fuse right now and thoroughly enjoying my stay. From the bread to my lunch everything is delightful. I got the baby mixed green salad with chicken and my friend got the crunch burger. Both absolutely delicious. Even the fries were cooked to perfection. We also got two drinks. One was a raspberry margarita and the other was a painless Brazilian which is technically a caipirinha. I know/ make my caipirinhas very well and the bartender did a phenomenal job on it. Our server is very nice, upbeat and friendly. She was on top of her game even though the lunch shift can get slow and service sometimes fades during that time. I would highly recommend this place to others. Sit outside on the patio also!

"Centro Lite" More like 2 1/2 stars. Having loved this place when it was Cafe Paradiso, I wanted to fall in love with it as Fuse. I am sad to say having giving the place a few shots, it has not sold me at all. It is set in an old firehouse in the heart of Downtown Lowell. In the summer the original large doors open up and there is seating outside. While the new bar is indeed larger than it was as Paradiso, it just doesnt feel as elegant. The decor is modern and fresh but largely boring. The drink menu has always been smaller than I would have thought, although the house infused alcohols are unique and the drinks I have tried are excellent. The menu is what really breaks the place. I have never been impressed with the selections, and many ingredients repeat themselves over and over again. The few appetizers I have ordered have been decent, though nothing memorable. Last time I was there was this previous summer, a Friday night. We sat outside and the place was largely empty. Service outside was incredible slow for such a slow night. The few tables of people who were there were diverse and nobody seemed to stay for too long. The overall problem with Fuse is that it doesn't know what it wants to be. Its house infused drink menu suggests something upscale, but it's ambiance and service just isn't there. The menu is largely bar food so I would never go here for dinner. I just don't know what this place is supposed to be. I will probably head back for a cocktail or two during happy hour, before I head down to Centro for dinner.
(2)Anne R.
While it has a high end feeling, the prices are reasonable and the quality of the food is great. Service is a bit on the relaxed side, but the atmosphere makes it enjoyable to hang out and wait. Here's what we ordered when we were in for lunch: $9 Cape Cod Crunch BBQ Burger $12 Crab Melt w/ fries Our first experience was simple and friendly, we'll be back again to provide a more in-depth review of our overall experience.

Really really liked it here. Came in to Lowell for the weekend to visit my sister and her boyfriend and they suggested almost immediately we stop here for food and booze. Food: we each got one of the night's specials and they were all great. Gruyere tater tots to start is a great life decision. I had swordfish tacos which had this BANGIN' corn salsa and jalapeno creme fraiche, my sister had a lobster/mussel dish with these spiral pastas we couldn't stop eating and her boyfriend had braised short ribs with some kind of delicious ravioli. The portions were enough to fill you up without being overwhelming, and the food wasn't very heavy but very hearty, if that makes sense. Booze: They. Infuse. Cherry. Bourbon. Booze part two: All their beers are delicious. There is no beer list which I disliked (I like to explore the list rather than choose from a chalkboard) but our waitress was knowledgeable and steered us correctly. Highly recommended.

first time here I had drinks and they were delicious, nice atmosphere.. easy going crowd second time i dined outside on the patio... nice spot to people watch. food was delicious, drinks were good -- service a bit slow, but it's a chill sort of place. good date night spot

I used to love this place but recently we got some yucky food!
(3)Simpson S.
Been a couple times. Food is awesome. Their fried chicken is superb. Got the chicken and the pumpkin waffles. Oh my, I could slice through the chicken with my fork, fried PERFECTLY. Pumpkin waffles were good too. Fries were nice and crispy and not too greasy. Overall, 10/10 would eat again.

If you like sour sangria (which could take a couple drops of Tabasco to make it a bloody Mary), hard rock breads (i beat it on the iron table and it didn't break), cheap potato chips for your dipping, dirty dipping bowls, and Caesar salad without Caesar dressings, Fuse Bistro in downtown Lowell MA will be the perfect place to go...

My wife convinced me to return (after positive reviews from friends) The place setting had a dirty plate on the dirty table. looking around, the restaurant was not busy but there were a lot of dirty table. It seems, especially in the afternoon, that the place is not well cleaned or cared for. My wife had a live worm on her plate. The serve was polite and apologized about the worm and took it off the bill. This was the last time I will eat here.

I tried Fuse Bistro out yesterday evening in Lowell out, based on the reviews here on Yelp! I'm not from Lowell, but was hanging out with a friend who was. He was only having drinks, but I was hungry, so this seemed to be a perfect fit. BEST first ... The BBQ Burger w/Cape Cod chips on top. WOW, what a burger. Cooked medium and it was actually medium. One of the best burgers I have had - and I love burgers! $9 with fries! The rest of the menu looked good, with prices from $9-$28 on entrees. NEXT .. the drinks were good. Not too strong, but again good. $7-$9 was the range on the mixed drinks I got. FINALLY ... the service was okay. There were maybe four patrons in there, but a few periods of delays of occurred. The staff was very friendly, however. The ambiance was nice -- contemporary in an old mill setting, quite fun.
(3)Ross T.
The food was good, though the lamb burger I ordered came well done even though I ordered medium rare. The biggest shortcoming was the service which was sub par. The waitress went to a table next to us three times for every one time she came to us. Service was either slow or surly and we were almost ignored towards the end. I had to wait for fifteen minutes until I went to get a box to pack our leftovers myself. Again she visited the table one over from us three times in that time span. She was only quick when it came to bringing us our bill. Probably won't come back for a while due to our waitresses neglect.
(2)Lin M.
Have now been to this restaurant three times. Last time went for a family gathering. The food is very good. Locally sourced when it can be and enough of a twist on some traditional items to make them stand out. Gruyere tater tots for one. It is unusual and delicious "pub" food.
(4)Vanessa R.
I am a very picky culinarian , I was thoroughly pleased with the restaurant . The decor was contemporary and hip in a cool 'downtown style area' the menu was like they suggest upscale bar food -well done at that . Our only tiff was the parking , which comes with the city location; and the limited menu items . I as a culinarian know that limited menu means you can do those items well , which they did , but would like to see previous seasons selections . All and all I would recommend and go back .
(4)Lesley R.
Tough call here...still wishing Yelp had the 1/2 star system. I'd remove 1/2 because of the slow summer patio service, but Fuse gains 1/2 because of their special booze. The Pomelo is absolutely worth $9. A nice cold glass about the size of a medium iced Dunks cup filled with a gorgeous combo of house infused grapefruit tequila, in house triple sec and pomegranate juice? I made a return trip to this somewhat trendy spot just for that! The Crunch Burger is a fun idea, but the chips don't stand up to all the moisture. Still very tasty including the fries and kicked up ketchup. I see plenty of other menu items I'd like to try, but sorta need to wait for payday to come around. I'd consider Fuse to be a nice place to treat yourself after a long work week maybe a few times a month.
(4)Julia D.
Fun place. I really liked the ambiance and drink options. A friend and I split the Meatball app and it was really good. I just wish the prices were a bit lower for what you get. I II will def be back, just not sure if it will be for the main courses. Its perfect for a high end drink after work and a snack in a swanky place in downtown Lowell.
(4)Matt N.
Moved to Lowell, MA last week and Fuse was recommended to me...and for good reason....I've had some good burgers in my life...but WOW....none has ever remotely come close to the burger at Fuse! I have yet to try any of their other food yet, but based on my burger experience I will be back and probably a lot! I also briefly met the owner while sitting at the bar and she was super nice as well! My first experience at Fuse was just awesome! I highly recommend it and I will be back!

Went for lunch with my daughter today - wasn't very busy. Got a table outside. The waitress never told us about the specials. We had to ask for napkins and silverware. Took over 45 minutes for a rueben sandwich and a hamburger - both over cooked. The waitress never came back to see how everything was or if we needed anything. We had to ask for more water. The waitress was no where to be found once the check finally arrived. Food was so-so and the service was a strike out. Do not recommend.
(1)Adam H.
Loved this place when I lived in Lowell. It's a nice, laid-back spot with a cozy feel. The craft beer selection is a draw, as is the food. Fuse has (or had) these great Asian glazed ribs as an appetizer. Every dish I've ordered here has hit the spot. They usually have something appealing as a special, too. Only once had a problem getting a seat: when there was a concert at night and one of the other main restaurants in the area was closed for the week. It feels like they put a lot of thought into their dishes.
(5)Julia H.
I'm updating my review not really because the rating has changed, but because I have more to add now that I've returned more times than I can count. My boyfriend and I come a lot because it's easy and convenient. There are always tables, and always good food. The menu is fun and innovative, and he loves the craft beer selection. Pros: -There's always a table open, but it's never completely dead - even at a slower time of day. -The food is always amazing. -Menu is innovative and different - and there's always something new to try. -The hubby loves the craft beer selection, and I can still get a fruity cocktail. -Ambiance is good, as is decor. -THE BREAD. Holy crap, I could eat it all day for the rest of my life. -Chocolate Molten Lava cake. This is a must. Cons: -Service is hit or miss. Some servers are great and attentive, some barely ever come to the table or refill your drink. -The menu seems all over the place with pricing. Some items you're like, "wow, that's impressively inexpensive for what it is." And others, you're like, "is this really worth $23?" We will still come at least 2-4 times a month based on the convenience and food/drink selection. Service could be better/more predictable, but the food and ambiance make up for the times where it's lacking.
(4)Dan N.
There's the beginnings of something here. The space is an old firehouse, with a gigantic wooden bay door leading out to patio seating from the dining area. The atmosphere is compact, clean and modern, more Kendall Square than downtown Lowell. The lunch menu is middle-of-the-road new American, featuring a large number of seafood-based sandwiches, burgers and sandwiches. I enjoyed the grilled thin crust pizza ($11), but it didn't ring any bells for exceptional high quality or creativity. This carried through with my dining companion's Cape Cod Crunch Burger ($9), which was (quelle suprise!) stuffed with several Cape Cod potato chips. Bought-in sandwich buns are stored on a kitchen shelf in the hallway to the single-seater bathrooms. The beer menu is small but competent, featuring no-brainers like Harpoon and Sam Adams seasonals on draught. They get points in my book for committing to Wachusett, but should look into expanding their offerings to other local favorites like Mayflower, Notch, Concord, Cisco, BBC, Blue Hills, Pretty Things, Ipswich, etc. A quick gloss of other reviews finds this a hotspot for infused vodka drinks and the like. I'm more of a craft cocktail guy than one who partakes in ladydrinks, but my interest is sufficiently piqued to give Fuse another shot.
(3)Rob C.
Nice little restaurant; very cool drink menu. Came in later in the afternoon and it wasn't busy, so that was nice. We were told to seat ourselves so we did as instructed and sat for few minutes. A very friendly server came over after a fashion, and rattled off a very complicated list of specials with a thousand ingredients, omg - keep it simple please! We ordered the Chef's Burger, and got the Crispy Burger, which was ok. The calamari was excellent; we'll go back and make sure to order more succinctly.
(3)C S.
Excellent food, laid back relaxed outdoor seating. Special shout out to southern fried chicken and pumpkin waffles. Will be back!
(5)Helen G.
Every time we go to Fuse we have an excellent meal. Chef uses local ingredients sourced from farms in the area. Wonderful creative dishes. Great hand crafted cocktails. The patio is nice in the warm weather.
(5)Zach H.
Fuse is, along with Centro and Cobblestone's, one of Lowell's better 'American Bistro' style restaurants. Of the 6+ times I have been to Fuse I have never been disappointed by the quality or creativity of the food. That is not to say the food is profound, but rather, far better then other closely priced offerings in the surrounding area. They have a decent beer selection with rotating taps (which seems to be a necessity in this beer-loving era) and the drinks are robust (great if you're walking home). I would have attended Fuse more often when living in Lowell had their service been better. Good food, good atmosphere, good drinks ... and yet a critical element was missing: a waitress/water who seems to give a damn. Good news! On our last visit to Fuse it appears as if they've addressed this issue. The waitress was attentive (but not overbearing), professional, and generally pleasant.

My wife & I were in town for the Bay State Marathon weekend. Wanted to get some dinner at a place that wasn't fast food/chain restaurants. Checked Yelp for a go to restaurant and found "Fuse Bistro". Glad we tried it, one of the best meals we've ever had! She had tuna tacos, which she requested be cooked a little more than rare. They came out exactly as she requested. I tried the coffee rubbed sirloin and asked for it "medium". It also came out perfectly. We split the apple crisp for dessert & I had the French press coffee. Best coffee I've ever had & the dessert was the perfect ending to the night. We were served by Erin and I cannot speak highly enough of her! Thanks for a great night! Ask for her if you go to Fuse, you won't be disappointed.
(5)Matt F.
I'm giving this place one star based solely on their poor service. My girlfriend and I stopped in here one Friday night because we noticed they had outdoor seating. We sat down and waited to be served. After being ignored we flagged down a waitress and asked to see a list of beers since they have a nice collection of craft beers on tap. The waitress said she didn't have a list but we could go inside and read the chalkboard list of all their beers or she could come back and tell us what they have. She then disappeared into restaurant, never to return. We decided to go to the bar, order the beers ourselves. We sat back down outside and never once did any waitress ask if we were "all set" or if we needed anything. We were completely ignored and that leaves a bad taste in my mouth.
(1)Michael V.
This place has been hit or miss for my girlfriend and I on 5 different occasions. On those 5 occasions, one of us has always disliked (tolerated is better descriptor) what we ordered. Menu descriptions can also be misleading, for instance I ordered what read as Kobe Beef meatballs with ravioli and broccolini, what i received was Kobe Beef meatballs with maranara sauce floating parmesan polenta balls and broccolini in the center... I hate grits. Portion sizes are so unpredictable! Some menu items are enormous while others leave you hungry. The place is consistent... the items that are great are always great (beef stew). I suggest finding something you like and sticking with it.... The beer selection is pretty good and the cocktail list can be interesting. They always have changing daily specials.
(3)Kell B.
I've had lunch here a few times. The food is great! Although compared to the other restaurants in the area the prices are a little steep for what I like to pay at lunch. The food is well worth the price you pay! margarita pizza is delicious, along with the hand cut fries. pros: decor, food, friendly staff cons: lunch prices
(4)Keith M.
Ceasar Salad. Too much dressing, not enough cheese. BBQ Burger with cape cod chips, cheese, lettuce, tomato. Well prepared and tasty, but the menu was confusing and I thought it was BBQ beef. No problem, but where was the BBQ sauce? hmm. Service was ok - not too many people there for a late lunch.
(2)Sean O.
This place never disappoints. The Cape Cod Crunch Burger is awesome! If you hit them on the right night you might catch the ice cream sandwich...crazy good. Everything is made in house and the the owner/head chef Scott is fantastic.

Having just moved to Lowell in September, I was absolutely thrilled to find Fuse Bistro. Literally steps from my new home, I was walking around the city one Sunday and was attracted by the open doors, outdoor seating and acoustic music set that was happening. Very cool place; Gourmet foods, (always the freshest seasonal ingredients!) very large beer & cocktail selection, great servers (partake in the beautiful smile that is Krystle!! She remembers everyone's name-imagine that??!!) and they also have a late night menu. The smaller, warm, intimate setting has been created within (what I think is) an old firehouse. Nicely set up, cozy, and cute, you'll enjoy a professional business lunch, evening with friends, or first date at Fuse. Relaxed atmosphere, friendly staff...Everything I look for in my neighborhood bar/restaurant. SO glad I found you, Fuse Bistro!!
(5)Johnny Q.
went here for lunch and had the crispy cod sandwich. they provide bread and oil while they prepare the food. the potato bread is excellent. the fries were good and the fish was fresh, overall very good. good selection of rotating microbrews. went here a second time for lunch, this time i tried the fish tacos. They include pieces of watermelon in the fish tacos. I enjoyed these very much. the outdoor seating is nice in summer. prices are higher than other lunch options in the area. this place is now on our regular lunch rotation.
(4)Jason W.
My girlfriend and I have been here several times (probably 7-8 times now) and have had pretty good food each time. The dishes have some creativity to them a seeming mix of decent pub food and some other dishes that might surprise you, and the quality of the ingredients is usually pretty good. The Cape Cod burger usually hits the spot for me, but the other dishes we have tried have been great as well. Always had good food when we come in. My biggest beef is the service. It is so hit or miss. More miss than anything else it seems. We are usually there when it is not terribly busy, so I really do not understand the service being so slow and/or lacking at times. This is not to say the service is absolutely terrible (never had any rude interactions) but it definitely seems the servers aren't as focused on their work as they probably should be. Menu has a couple of new things almost every time we stop by. We'll probably be back. They have good food, a decent atmosphere just the service needs work.
(3)Meg H.
I like the atmosphere and the service is always outstanding. The food is delicious, local and seasonal. However, sometimes I wish the menu was a bit larger but once I get my food I am never disappointed.
(5)Jenny W.
We've been here for dinner twice and both times were fabulous! This past weekend we showed up around 8:30 and almost all the tables were filled. We were quickly seated but it did take our waitress a while to come over and greet us, not a big deal since it appeared she was the only waiter on the floor. As far as food goes we had the crab rangoon appetizer - fantastic and much better than anything you could get at an asian restaurant. For our meals we have the steak frites and crunch burger. The hamburger was incredible and for $9 the prices are Fuse are fantastic! We will be back again!
(4)Sophia L.
I came back on a busy Saturday night; had to wait a while to get a seat. Three of my party was new here, so I was hoping to show them a good restaurant, but was disappointed. They ran out of the special (grass-fed sirloin) by 9pm, the entrees were nothing exceptional. The only highlight was the live performance from a guitarist with a great voice accompanied by another man who could play the drums and guitar. I had the Tuna Burger, which was all right. The all Natural Fried Chicken was good too. However, the Filet Mignon was disappointing, as the zucchini cakes were highly salty and the steak itself only mediocre. The Streak Fritte was probably better. The soy-ginger wings were okay. Overall, my second experience was disappointing since I had an amazing experience the first time. This could be a result of the packed place (compared to the relatively few patrons from the other night). In conclusion, I'll come here seasonally for the meals, since they have special dishes and great drinks, but won't be some place I'd frequent regularly.

One of the most variable Beer selections (Magic Hat, Allagash, Tuckermans) of any place in the vicinity. They also have quite an impressive selection of drinks on their menu. My server was very friendly, and helpful. The bread that she gave us was fantastic (it came with an olive oil type dip). I tried the basic burger, which wasn't too greasy and was cooked just as I requested. Sitting outside on a nice day is best, as this place is right in downtown Lowell! They also had live music playing when I went (Saturday late afternoon), which was quite enjoyable. Excellent place to get dinner or to catch up for a drink.

We went for lunch on a Thursday afternoon. I was very impressed by the look of the place, the waitress was very friendly and helpful. It was such a beautiful day that we sat at an outside table. Very relaxing......... The food was very good. They have a very good selection of healthy, gourmet, delicious food. Love, love, loved it! We will be back many times....I look forward to trying as much as I can from their menu!

Went with a group of eight and had a blast. The infused drink special was a hit with everyone. Swordfish tacos were excellent. Big and tasty. Salmon with Mascarpone risotto was very tasty. Crunch burger was reported as very tasty but the fries looked under cooked. Parking in city garage was dirt cheap. Love this place

Never had a bad meal. Great fresh food!

The empty space that Cafe Paradiso left behind is now rightly filled by a newcomer called Fuse Bistro....I love everything about that name. So damn cool.... Anyhow, the food..yes the calamari app was excellent and so was the beef tenderloin cooked damn well! Bartender and waitstaff was friendly and while I plan on coming back there are a couple of recommendations I'd like to make. #1 - Lower your window shades so that folks can see if the place is open for business or not. I had to ask a cook on his smoke break if there was any action. #2 - Raise the volume on the tunes to a bit higher than a funeral home... Lots of potential, but the place needs character. Perhaps with time it will come. I'll definitely return for more. Welcome addition to the marvelous Lowell downtown scene..!!!

I live in downtown Lowell and have been here over a dozen times in the past couple of months. Food is great, carefully prepared, portions are large, and the lunch menu is an especially good bargain. Desserts are a little on the sweet side for me, but no big deal. Basically among the tastiest food in downtown Lowell. The bartending is so mediocre that I come here half as often as I'd like. How about a warm martini in a stemless glass? Ok, call me pretentious, but I watched my Ketel One martini half filled with some other vodka when the K One bottle didn't have enough. Very inconsistent bartending. The service is sloooow, almost to the point where we almost got up and left a couple of times. Yesterday, my waitress clocked out during our meal. Why do I have to go hunting for my server? I had other crappy experiences (umm, didn't you see that lipstick on the glass before you served it to me). If there is even a manager at this place I would fire him/her is a flash. But I think the issue i that there is no manager and the waitstaff basically does whatever they want. If the service and bartending here was a good as that at Centro, this place would be a winner. Bottom line: delicious and innovative food, mediocre bartending, pathetic service.

I've been here twice, now. Once solo for dinner at the table and once for 'business' with dinner seating at the bar. I enjoy the location, decor and menu. The bar is well stocked. A Friday night was my try and the place was busy at 6:30. Food was fresh and service was OK. I had the 'Crispy Cod fish "n" Chips' with the house chipotle ketchup (wow, I guess I can't take too much heat after all). Went on a Thursday night for a business meeting and the place was nearly empty at 7:00. However, an hour into our meal and there were a dozen people at tables and more at the bar. Started with appetizers -- the Fried Calamari were good, as good as what I used to get in Rhode Island, but the Vegetable Spring Rolls were just OK. (Much better at Etsogo). I loved the 'All Natural Smoked Chicken Stroganoff.' I'll become a regular.

Solid spot for lunch. Sat at the bar for quick service - bartender was friendly and offered us frequent lunch punch cards on the way out, which I will definitely be using! Menu variety was unique and a nice departure from the same old standards you see around here (especially at lunchtime). Got the tuna burger with mixed greens and hubs got a gourmet sloppy joe special. Food was fresh and delicious. Looking forward to returning for drinks/dinner sometime.

Easily one of the best places in downtown Lowell to get a consistently good meal. Their drink menu is fun, and food menu is updated regularly with seasonal stuff. In the summer, the big doors open and sidewalk seats are added and its a nice spot on the corner of a cobblestone street. Only downside is the service - its rather spotty depending on the server you get.

Had dinner tonight at Fuse with two friends and we all left very impressed. The cocktail, wine and beer lists had some great selections, I was especially happy to see Peak Organic IPA on the list because I love it and haven't seen it at any of my regular Lowell haunts. The calamari appetizer was delicious, I was quite taken with the fried lemon slices that came on the plate. I had the sirloin for my entree and it was delicious and perfectly cooked. My friends had the fried chicken and the fish and chips and they both were very happy with their selections. Our server was excellent: gracious, attentive, always there when we needed something but there wasn't any weird 'I'm right near your table so I am going to interrupt you to ask a question' awkwardness. Fuse is still in their soft-opening phase and we were all amazed that there weren't any new restaurant glitches - the service was so smooth and the food so tasty it seems as if they have been open for years. The four-star review is because I do have one teeny, tiny, complaint: other than salads, the menu does not include any vegetarian appetizers or entrees. I am an omnivore, so it isn't much of a concern for me, but I would love for my vegetarian friends to be able to experience Fuse's tasty food. Overall, I had a great experience at Fuse and am hoping to make it a regular haunt.
(4)Shelly C.
The drinks were pretty good. The service was slow and aloof. The server didn't bring our drinks out. The food came out quick. But yet we haven't received our drinks yet. The fish and chips was okay. The fries were soggy and oily. The burger was a disappointment. The bun was too soggy. The burger wasn't good at all. I would only come back for the drinks. Food is overpriced for downtown Lowell. This isn't Boston.

Really like the drink menu, and they were made well !!!! Plenty of good beer choices. My husband had the Kobe beef meatloaf, one special that night, that was fresh, flavorful and delicious. I had the short rib mini burgers which I absolutely loved !!!!! Our waitress was awesome, right there when we needed her and fun too!!!!! The atmosphere was great and the place was full all night.....Definitely will be back soon....

We went to Fuse on it's fourth night being open, and their first Friday night. The place was packed and doing quite well for their first week. They also handled the crowd very well and weren't overwhelmed by the volume. Our food took longer than typical, but the staff was so attentive that it almost went unnoticed. Food was good, but I lost all the details. My only suggestion for improvement was that they offer a vegetarian entree. I'm a fan of Fuse, but not Yelp at the moment! It lost my iPhone review :(

Checked out the new addition to the neighborhood last night and was very pleased with Fuse. We started off with drinks... my martini was excellent, and they have a good selection of wine including many by the glass for reasonable prices. Appetizer was calamari, and they nailed it... perfectly done, great little sauces on the side, just a very well done and well presented app. For entrees I had the steak frites and my wife had the salmon. The salmon was very good, with a nice fresh vegetable element to the dish. The frites with my streak frites were great, the steak itself was a bit overdone (I ordered medium and got medium well, almost no pink) and not a cut I usually associate with traditional steak frites, but was pretty good nonetheless. Service was good, decor has a little ways to go but it is their first week so they get a pass. The place was pretty hopping for a Wednesday night, so I hope that is a good sign for the future of Fuse as I will definitely be back. Overall, great addition to the neighborhood.
(4)David B.
Following a good experience with lunch, have now gone to Fuse twice for dinner. As with the lunch menu, the dinner menu is not extensive but, by doing a smaller number of dishes they increase the likelihood they will be done well (they are). The lights are low at dinner, adding to a pleasant ambiance of the brick and wood of the historic building. Service can be a bit pokey, but friendly. Fuse is a great addition to the downtown dining scene and will offer great al fresco dining opportunities when the warm weather returns!
(4)Joshua B.
This is the third time I've come to fuse for dinner and I love it more and more! Erin was our server and she was very knowledgeable about the food and drink menu. I had the short ribs with gratin potatoes and wilted garlic spinach and my fiancé had the steak frites and they were both amazing :) the best part of the dinner was the apple pie martini with house infused apple pie vodka and the "I butter not" hot coffee drink. Perfect ending to the holiday festivities in lowell! Will definitely be back and will request Erin!

After seeing multiple friends post about this local restaurant, I decided that I would give it a try. I arrived expecting a nice dinner with my cousins but these expectations were soon crushed. First off, the menu was very limited. After reviewing what little options we had, we placed our orders and anxiously waited for our food to arrive. To start off, we ordered the red curry chicken lime rangoons. Our appetizer arrived in approximately 15 minutes and was nothing spectacular. After that, we had to wait about another 40 minutes for our entrees to arrive. The tuna burger was okay. The sweet potato fries came in a small portion. The fish n' chips tasted like a fish filet from McDonald's - but much soggier. The pizza was something I could have made very easily at home. The food was average. It was really nothing special. Though the food was decent, the service was horrendous. Our waitress failed to give our party the proper attention we deserved. She never apologized for the long wait or informed us on the status of our food. When our food was finally delivered to us, my cousin asked if she could have some pepper flakes. The waitress kindly agreed, proceeded to the bar area, and started mixing drinks for other customers... After mixing the drinks she just stood aimlessly at the bar area. Needless to say, my cousin never got the pepper flakes. I will not be coming back to this establishment any time soon.

Went here for the first time last night after hearing bad reviews from a number of different sources. I wanted to sit outside so I figured I would at least give it a try. It was pretty bad... we sat down and waited quite a while for someone to greet us. Drinks took a while, food took a while (and also made me feel kinda sick,) and they messed up our check and charged our cards to a different parties check. We were a party of two and they were a party of five so now we have large holds on our bank accounts which take days to clear up...just in time for the weekend. It was not busy at all... Never going here again.
(1)Adam H.
The service was awful, I can't rate the food because we could not get served we asked for a manager and they said we are short staffed. The bar tender was nice and he is the only one that said sorry.
(1)Tara A.
Delicious food! My husband and I met here after work one Tuesday evening. Great atmosphere, great service, respectable beer selection. I had the grass-fed sirloin steak with bourbon maple sweet potatoes- delicious! My husband had the tuna tacos, which were also wonderful. Sure, this place is a bit on the pricey side, but you get what you pay for. I want to try everything on the menu-it all sounds awesome.
(4)Ann C.
Truly, between inspired menus, local brew'd beers/farm foods, friendly servers, and reasonable prices, there's just no compelling reason to cook. See you at Fuse at least twice a week!!
(5)Jodi F.
I cannot stop going back for more at Fuse. Living downtown it's easy to get bored of the same restaraunts every other week, but Fuse always has something different on tap and awesome dinner specials. I really like that they get a lot of their produce from local farmers and the beverages mimic the menu with lots of craft beers and local and organic liquor. The atmosphere is totally laid back and the staff is super friendly.. It's not an intimidating place to have dinner for one at the bar.. And when I can get a rockin steak and fries with a craft beer for twenty five bucks.. I can't help but be a frequent flyer!
(5)Emily N.
A must if you are a foodie and a football fan! They have outdoor seating on the cobblestone street in nice weather, but the decor is really nice and modern for the not-so-nice days, too. The food and service were both excellent. The ingredients were really fresh...I think they have a farm to table set up of some sort. I had the walnut salad with a side of sweet potato fries. There were not many vegetarian options, which would be the one down-side of this place, I suppose. Let's really discuss the desserts, though...ok, well, they were so unbelievably delicious, I don't know that the thesaurus could even help me come up with the words. The iced coffee mousse with salted caramel and homemade whipped cream....oooohhhhh, yummmmmmm. It's worth going just to get this. Skip dinner. Skip the beer. GET THIS DESSERT. We also tried the molten chocolate cake with raspberry sauce, which also gives taste bud orgasms. Lowell is really surprising me with all their great restaurants. The prices are really great, too.

I was excited to know that Fuse Bistro was in the center of Lowell since our city needs such a restaurant in the center of town. It was Saturday night and my first impressions of Bistro was that the decor was trendy and modern (all of which I like). That being said, the owner and manager need to think more about how to create more atmosphere or my fear is that people will not keep going to this locale in downtown lowell and it will fail. To that end, my major concern had to do with the service from the bartenders since bartenders and wait staff can create the kind of atmosphere that a visitor needs. In my opinion there was no attention paid to me while I was there at all; i felt as if I was in a mall browsing for items and no one really cared that I was there. In a mall this is ok but in a bar setting it is not. I wish the bartender had said at a minimum, " Good Evening, how are you folks tonight" " Is this your first time at Bistro?" or something like this. I was there for over an hour and the interactions were so minimal, not unfriendly but so minimal. By the way the food was very good. I had chicken wings and the beef burger. Lastly, while I was eating and drinking staff talked to each other, texted from their phones, ate at the bar and I felt really irrelevant ( and I have a tremendous sense of self and need no external support). I want to return since it is one of a few good sites in Downtown Lowell. Please address how your staff and ownership work with all people especially newcomers! Good Luck!

This place is still trying to find itself. I've been here several times for lunch and had some nice brews. Two times now I've walked out because it's too loud. Once today, no Patriots game this afternoon but some live music?? All you need is the game on!
(4)Mark M.
A really fantastic addition to Lowell. The building/atmosphere is great, the menu is very creative and the wine list is good (with great prices). Have been there several times for dinner and each time has been outstanding. No problems with service as other posters have noted. Fuse has definitely gained another "regular".
(5)S S.
Tried Fuse on a beautiful Lowell evening based on some online recommendations. Had chicken wing appetizers - not too mild/not too hot - just right. The swordfish tacos and grilled steak each had excellent flavor, very tasty! The service was great too, a helpful waitress with a big smile. It was an excellent meal and we'll definitely return!
(5)Valerie R.
We went here on opening night and had a really good experience. The service was competent and friendly. They had a decent selection of beers on tap and a nice variety of wines by the glass. We had the chicken wings appetizer, the tomato-basil-mozzarella salad, the beef tenderloin and the tuna burger. All very good. We ended with the pound cake dessert. I'm very excited to have this restaurant in this prime downtown space!

I am so psyched Fuse moved into the old Paridiso space. I teach at Middlesex Community College 1 night a week just down the street and was looking for a good alternative to Fortunato's and the Smokehouse. I've been in Fuse probably about 5 or 6 times now, all on Tuesday nights. Mostly just for a beer after class. However, I started sampling some of the appertizers and got hooked. The calarmari was sliced on the thin side, lightly battered and fried to a crisp finish. it was served with chive aioli and sweet chili dipping sauces. It's excellent!. I've also have had the salad, also very tasty. The Thin crust pizza is just that, but I feel it is exceptionally prepared; crunchy with great flavors from the cheeses and basil. Perfect with one of their carefully chosen reds. My favorite dish by far is the Steak Frites. I'm not sure what cut of meat it is but it eats like a tenderloin and comes with red wine demi. I've had Steak Frites at some the best known restaurants in the Back Bay and in Cambridge and this is by far the best. Oh I forgot to mention it comes with truffle salted fries. All this for $16? I've only been there on Tuesday so the atmosphere has been pretty dead, although recently there have been a few office parties. The room is relatively small and is on the dark side, which I find intimate. It's clean and modern as well. I find the service is good. I noticed one review about the the servers and bartenders not being engaging and I'm not sure that's fully accurate. I like to chat it up with the staff and they are friendly, but a little more interest is always nice. By the way, every time I've been there, one of the co-owners (Melissa) has been there and has always taken the time to talk to me. I'm so close to giving this another star, definitely one of the best restaurants in the Lowell area. I can't wait for the summer and dine outside.
(4)Brian R.
The food is consistently great here, the service varies a lot. I've been here quite a bit and sometimes the service is great, other times I've been completely forgotten. One of the attractions of this spot is the outdoor seating which is nice because it's a low traffic, cobblestone street. Really great in the summer.
(4)C B.
Tuna burger tasted great with crispy fries but the ribs appetizer was excellent. Sitting outside on a spring night made for a nice evening. Recommended as a stylish but casual place to eat in Lowell's downtown.
(4)J D.
just stopped in to check it out, quick drink and then on my way...I'm giving it 3 stars because it's a place I want to return and see really experience it, so far it hasn't turned me off...that's promising!
(3)Jessica D.
Great little place! Loved the atmosphere and they have pear cider on tap! Wooohooo... Had the chicken wings and they were delightful! Definitely coming back! Great place for a girls night, date night or just to belly up to the bar!
(4)Alex M.
The food was truly amazing and the waitress was wonderful, plus it wasn't that expensive! I think it may have just become my new favorite restaurant; I just wish I lived closer!
(5)J David N.
We have eaten here 4 times since it's opening and it is consistently good. Beef Tenderloin Green Salad was outstanding, as was the fish sandwich at lunch. Crystal is an awesome server. Lunch was served quickly and priced right. I've had chicken, swordfish and the Cape Cod crunch burger all have been great. Prices are reasonable. Newest and BEST restaurant downtown Lowell has to offer.
(5)Scott B.
Food is outstanding. I'd like to see portions slightly bigger, but you got enough. Atmosphere is great. Tons of beer and wine choices. Excellent service. Prices reasonable too. Strongly recommend. Bar looks like it would be fun to hang out at. Big TV's and nice crowd.
(4)Greg Z.
I would give the food 4.5 stars and the front of the house two stars. Went recently on a busy Saturday night - called and made a reservation but when we got there it was pretty much chaos. Line of folks "waiting" for a table with no hostess and it appeared, no one in charge. Literally, we saw two tables full of folks leave as they could not seem to get their orders taken. (One woman commented "Good Luck" on the way out.) Since we had wondered a bit far from home we decided to stay for a bit. Eventually, they got us a table and once we were seated it was a great experience. The food was really Boston quality at Lowell prices, delicious -- great flavors. The space is fun. We will return but I think we'll pick a less crowded hour to eliminate the chaos. Perhaps it was a one-off experience but they will not build a loyal dinner crowd without fixing their issues with organization.
(4)Sarah F.
It was a good place to get a drink and mingle with friends. Kinda classy.Good place to pregame or wind down after going out. Drink I got was strong and really hit the spot. Would recommend the Green Tea martini or one of the micro-brews.
(3)Ann C.
This is a wonderful addition to the Lowell dining scene! The salads were incredibly fresh and thoughtfully composed with delightful little accents. The tuna sandwiches were amazing. I felt like licking the wasabi aioli dish. The chef even cooked the tuna properly. Thanks to Fuse, I now know the importance of truffle salt for the fries. The strawberry basil martini was a treat as well. We weren't even hungry, but got a dessert of pumpkin-blueberry bread pudding. This is a 9.5 of 10 in dining experiences. My only 10 was in Paris. Even the wait staff is exceptional.
(5)Carolynn D.
Okay here's my review for Fuse Bistro. My friends and I made a reservation for Saturday night at 8pm 4 days in advance. When we got to the restaurant there was no host "up front" to greet us (*by up front I mean a long blocked-off hallway by the door which guests are expected to crowd into while they wait). We waited for at least 10 minutes and still no greeting. A waitress walked by us several times with no acknowledgement. The place was full (though it is a very small restaurant). I finally stopped the waitress and asked if a host could come seat us, we had a reservation for 7 people. She stated she would clear a table off for us right away. Within a few minutes we were seated. Probably another 5-10 minutes before our server came to the table. We received no greeting, smile, etc. She promptly asked us what we'd like to drink. Our drinks came quickly (we timed her- 5 minutes. Not too bad for five women all getting mixed drinks & specialty cocktails). The waitress dropped them off and quickly left the table without asking if we were ready to order or saying she would be back. We were quite hungry and very ready to order our food but it was a long time before she came by again. She was short and to the point with all of us, and actually interrupted our ordering process at one point to speak with another customer. Our salads came (they were delicious) and we had to ask for silverware. She brought it over without napkins. We asked for napkins and her response was ("we sat you very quickly tonight"--really? you did? no apology, smile, etc) She did not bring them over for another several minutes. In the meanwhile we went to the bar and got cocktail napkins ourselves. The food came out quickly. I got the vegetarian entree (wild mushroom raviolis) and though the flavor was delicious, fresh, etc mine was lukewarm and my friend's was cold. Among other entrees purchased were the crispy fish 'n' chips (delicious) and the tuna burger (also delicious). We asked for our check immediately after we finished, as we had already been there for quite a while and we were ready to get on with our night. The waitress had included a 20% tip for herself on the tab. Now- I have been in the restaurant industry for over a decade and I was pretty disgusted by the customer service (or lack thereof) and the complete disregard of a large party's needs. That being said, the food was pretty delicious and reasonably priced and the drinks were phenomenal. Because of that, and only that, I would try it one more time .It's nice to have a local restaurant which uses fresh, local ingredients. They need to get it together or this place is not going to last!
(2)Ryan H.
I am a big fan of this place. The pizza is almost better than Tremonte next door. The drinks are great and I haven't found a better drink menu in Lowell. The staff is great and they are very attentive. I go here all the time and bring friends and family. They all love it and ask to go back. Another plus is the fuse crunch burger. A burger with cape cod chips on it! Heck yes!
(4)Matthew A.
We enjoyed the Fuse just eh, just ok. We sat outside in the nice summer weather on their nice terrace. Service was all over the place as well as the menu. 2 in our party had burgers and they did not have ketchup. The had their own spicy ketchup which not all can enjoy. Who the hell runs out of Heinz? The beers on tap- eh. Please get more. So boring. The fish and chips. Very heavy and greasy. Cole Slaw-bland and more boring. Garden Salads over dressed. Not sure if I would return, but loved the old Market Square location.
(3)Hillary S.
We had no idea of what to expect when we randomly chose to eat here. The place is open and airy not stuffy at all...has a vibe to it. My only complaint is the cushion on the back wall seating...you sink so deep that your chin is level with the table and you are looking up at the people across from you. People next to us were also unhappy with the cushion. Sheryl our server was outstanding! I'm a GM of a Resort and know this is not an easy job and she was one in a million. Every encounter with her was calm and genuine. She has a great sense of humor as well! Chicken and waffles were great. I wasn't huge on the pumpkin waffle but my husband ordered it and loved every bite. I got the crunchy BBQ burger and left nothing on the plate and our friend got the calamari and delish! Sheryl's suggestion for the pineapple pomegranate margarita had me go from one to three because they were so good! Do not miss dessert...the cookies and ice cream are all you need! 1. Sheryl 2. Food 3. Atmosphere minus those terrible cushions 4. Overall vibe If your in the area it's a great spot!!

Terrible. How hard is it to make a decent salad. Mcdonalds salad would have been better. I ordered the grilled chicken salad with roasted olives, baby spinach, balsamic vinaigrette and greens beans. The salad was drenche'd in canola oil, had no balsamic vinigrette, the chicken was cold and warm, the olives were straight from jar, not roasted. I felt sick afterward. How can you mess up a salad. Do not eat here.
(1)Ivy K.
Horrible the staff acted like I wasn't even there when I walked in and there was no one there eating so there is no excuse I was there yesterday 5 in the afternoon I'll be sure not to come back.

I was visiting my brother who lives around the corner and was out bouncing around DT Lowell when we realized we should probably get some food in us before things got out of hand. We ordered beers at the bar to start and the bartender didn't seem to excited to have us there. She also had no idea what to recommend for beers. Then when I tried to order, she told me she was out of that one... twice. We decided to grab a table and order some eats. The service was slow and again, our server seemed non-enthusiastic about our presence. My friend ordered the short ribs which were decent but way overpriced for what it was. My brother and I shared a margarita pizza which was actually pretty good. We opted for a second shared app and I was about to order the meatballs when I asked the waiter if I'd be missing out on anything else. He swayed me into ordering the wings. Unfortunately they were downright awful. My brother and I both ate one and then left the rest of them behind. He never mentioned the fact that we obviously weren't interested and did everything he could to shoo us out of there as soon as possible.
(2)Livia B.
Service was slow and food was average. We ordered buffalo fried cauliflower, fried calamari, and chicken wings. Everything was greasy. The taste was ok, but nothing memorable. We sat outside. The server took a while to come greet us, and a while to bring our drinks (it was not too busy!) The food came out fast. We waited a littler over 30 min for the server to bring our check, and another 15 min for her to bring it back after we paid.
(3)Laurie K.
This casual restaurant has good food with nice outside seating. We were having a informal business lunch and I was impressed by the service. Our waitress knew we were spending time talking about business issues and gave us time and space while being attentive. I had a lovely lunch salad--light with a good amount of protein. Another person in our party had a tasty individual pizza which he loved. It's a good place for a light meal and a relaxing chat with friends or colleagues.
(4)Jim K.
Best part of the meal was the dessert. It was good and tasty. Went with a few appetizers, but they were disappointing. The meal itself was okay, but far from exceptional, for the price this place is probably worth passing up, unless you are looking to stop in for dessert only.

We are new to the Boston area about 2 weeks and looking to explore. A visiting friend from Tallahassee is what enticed us to get out and about. We decided on a place about half way for each of us and Fuse Bistro got the votes. Downtown Lowell, which is not very exciting. Right away I was not impressed with the neighborhood and honestly it felt a little sketchy to me. The photos I'd seen of Fuse were very inviting but looks can be deceiving. What we got was a drab, boring, uninviting establishment, short on atmosphere and service. We arrived a little earlier than our friend and decided on some drinks. I discovered very early in the game that the server was going to be less than friendly. Not even a smile. Have you ever been to a comedy club and there's some clod sitting in the front row who doesn't even crack a smile, even though the comic is extremely funny. That's this guy. Anyway, the wine selection was good and I decided on the house red which was actually a blend. It was very happy with my selection. The server had nothing to offer us in terms of recommendations and the beer menu was boring. Does anybody drink Bud or Miller anymore? Seriously. The food though presented nicely, wasn't very appealing. I had a tuna steak ordered medium rare but what I actually got was a seared version, which I don't have a problem with. It's just the fact that I got something different than what I ordered and that's kind of a faux pas in the restaurant world. It was served nicely with 4 ravioli and some asparagus spears but it was flavorless and unimaginative, swimming in a soupy broth on a plate. Now I know fish are swimmers but I don't think they care when they're dead. In the future if we're ever in Lowell, we'll be trying other things. My experience is not yours. Check it out for yourself and you might find yourself up there with all the other 4 and 5 stars.

I give myself 1 star for not going sooner.. I've driven by and lunched/dined at lots of places and hadn't made it here until today. I have some making up to do. I got the tacos of the day which were blackened tuna with shredded veg tomato salsa and crema. 2 hearty tacos, I'm busting at the seams. Cheryl the bartender was hostess of the hostesses to me and everyone. Attentive and super friendly. I guess I'm happy it was hot as hell and I opted to sit inside or else I wouldn't have had her service. The cocktail list was creative and extensive. I only went with prosecco and it was a nice sized flute.. No cheap skating. Can't wait to return and gorge on something else. Other establishments could take note of Cheryl's great personality, attentiveness and attention. I'm sure the restaurant knows they are lucky she's part of the team.

Over priced, over cooked, over hyped. Great location but less than great service, careless and mediocre food presentation/preparation.

When a location calls itself a "bistro", it evokes warm and welcoming, small and quaint, serving comforting dishes. Cold wintery temperature, and cold service. Dry food. "eh" wines. I think the locals love it - we didn't. And when in town for business, we will not give it our business. Our server was so detached, aloof and unattentive, you just wanted to apologize for being there and asking for anything. The food was beyond lackluster - breading on the calamari and fried pickles was tasty. And the exceeding number of fried pickles were "ok" - better than the accompanying rubber calamari. The flatbread was ok - the cheese mix is definitely something that would appeal to college palates, and the chopped up tomatoes were grainy and tasteless (not their fault, this is not the peak time for this kind of produce). The MAJOR losers of the evening were the dry - desert dry - chicken and waffle. Black eye gravy was ok, but I just couldn't get past the dryness of the waffle and the chicken. No butter or syrup for the waffle which meant LOTS of water to be able to get this down. Seared tuna fish tacos were just off putting. A phantom gourmet pick - I'm sure it may appeal to a younger crowd perhaps, but in this old lady's book, sad service and sad food, made it a sad dining experience.

Fusion is just what its name proposes: a fusion of comfort and International styles in a modern accessible setting. The menu includes dishes like Chicken and Waffles - Pumpkin, Butternut Squash, and Cranberry compote topped waffles. Fish is a focus, a daily special always available beside a Tuna Burger and the rotating tacos which on this occasion included Blackened Tuna. Looking for a Burger? Besides the Tuna Burger I enjoyed topped with a fresh ginger cabbage slaw and Wasabi ginger aioli there is a Lab burger and the famed Crunch Burger complete with Barbecue sauce and potato chips. Large plates include vegetarian pastas and Sirloin steaks but apps are as generous as they are beautiful and could easily make a meal of their own. Friendly waitstaff and a comfortable bar with great wine flights and rotating taps make Fuse a very competitive location in bustling Downtown Lowell.

Loved the fish tacos! Sheryl was a fabulous server and made the random stop in Lowell on route to New Hampshire even better! Tuna burger was great as well!

Great food and atmosphere ! Little pricey but 100% worth it. Green monster pizza to start was delicious. Followed by the chicken Milanese which was to die for the perfect bite of juicy chicken with an insane crunchy crust. My table also got the steak dish and tomato bisque. We will definitely be returning !

Great location, great service, good food! Our server, Cheryl, was amazing! We have four kids and she was so kind and engaging to us all! Finding a kid friendly restaurant is half the battle sometimes! We will definitely make this place a regular part of our family dinner nights out! #Butterflies

One star because I had to. I could not imagine a worse experience than dining at Fuse, well almost dining. We were a group of eleven people visiting Lowell and made a reservation for lunch. We came in, were given a table, our orders were taken and drinks were served. It was hard not to notice the filthy bathroom and several of the plates had to be replaced due to food stuck from previous diners. Nonetheless we persevered, made conversation and waited for the food to be served. After fifty minutes and noticing that many take out orders were being filled, no one ever approached us, explained what the problem was or apologized and of course no food could be seen. Only three other tables had other diners in the restaurant. Finally, one of us went over to the server complained and then complained again, victory at last, bread and aromatic oil was served. We were still being nice, although at this point we have waited over an hour. Another complaint and at last two of the orders were brought out, soup and grilled cheese sandwiches, both cold and dry. When one of us said that the services was unacceptable, the server said :" if you don't like the service, then all of you, just leave", and so we did. I am quite sure none of us will return to Fuse.

Sometimes a restaurant has an off night and it's unfortunate when it happens to you. As visitors to Lowell for a conference, we chose Fuse based on the reviews from Yelp and other travel sites. We were seated around 8:35pm and the server finally brought us menus nearly 10 minutes later. We then waited over 40 minutes for the food to arrive (the excuse was that the pizza takes a long time to cook). We ordered the thin pizza which came out hot and we enjoyed it; I would recommend it. However, my spouse ordered the tuna burger medium rare (as recommended) but it came out very well done. The flavor was completely cooked out of it. We didn't send it back because it took so long to get food in the first place. The server finally offered dessert and coffee on the house, which we declined because of the late hour. While the service was extremely slow, she was friendly when she came around. Perhaps they were understaffed tonight.

We absolutely love this place. The food is always delicious, the drinks are incredible, and the staff is quite friendly! The food rotates by season, and offers a variety of foods made with fresh, local produce. Their specialty drinks also rotate by the season, and offer special house-infused alcohols. The boyfriend and I go here at least once a month to dine and have a drink or two. This is a gem of downtown Lowell, and you should go and eat there! (Seriously.. go for the french fries alone. They're the best around!)

Fuse Bistro: wicked awesome. If you go make sure to save room for deconstructed dessert.

Stumbled upon this great place last friday. Went in and the host let us know that there would be an outside table free in just 5 minutes or so. We sat at the comfortable bar to grab a drink and wait. We were impressed that they had a bunch of local brews on tap. It only got better from there. My date got a Ceasar salad and the salmon. Both excellent! I got the green pizza and a lamb burger. The food was unbelievably good! The atmosphere was also great. I think we found our new favorite place.

First off, I am not a critical person when it comes to restaurants, I was a server for 2 years and very forgiving when it comes to bad experiences but I was that dissatisfied with my 2 recent experiences here that I couldn't help but write a review . 1. I decided to go here for dinner with my sister one Friday night. I got their margarita (hibiscus I believe) and it unfortunately tasted like plain orange juice. However, every other drink I've ever gotten from here is out of this world. We ordered our appetizer of calamari which was decant. My sister ordered the margarita pizza and myself ordered the burger. We waited almost an entire hour for our meals. Mind you, everyone else that had sat down way later after us were finished with their meals and ready to pay as we were just getting ours. I am very patient but I couldn't believe how long it was. The worst part was no one acknowledged how long we were waiting, not even our server.I eventually asked a bus boy if he could go ask someone about our food. Our food finally came, our server never once apologized about how long we waited. I honestly expected the manager to come visit our table or comp something off the check (as that was what our restaurant would normally do) but she dropped off the check (15 mins after asking) and it was the full bill. I NEVER send things back or ask for something to be taken off but I was that upset, so I told our server we had waited literally 50 minutes for our food and was very understanding but felt like it should be acknowledged somehow. She got offended and was very nonchalant, returned with our appetizer taken off. 2. I gave this place another shot and my friend and I decided to grab a drink at the bar, all the bar seats were taken but I decided to wait at the bar and order. I was waiting there for a good 10 mins and the bartenders still had not acknowledged us. I decided to go stand and wait at the other side of the bar where their register was so they would notice me. 5 minutes and still nothing. They were socializing with other bar guests whom were actually giving us dirty looks. I honestly felt unwelcome and got the impression that if you are not a regular, you aren't important. Positive aspects: 1. margarita pizza was really good 2. Sweet potato fries are delicious 3. Very unique and tasty drinks This place could be wonderful if they stepped up their game, but unfortunately after two horrible experiences I will not be returning...

Buffalo cauliflower app was good... Fish tacos were a mess but the flavor was there. The burger was good. Fries are excellent... Loved the rosemary seasoning.

Consistency is what I like! This place is the heart of Lowell. Looking to go on a nice date in any season this is a cool place with a nice atmosphere. The people that work there are hip and friendly. Good service with outdoor seating. The food is great! My choice here are the sweet potatoes fries, the green salad is awesome, yum my mouth watered delicious dressing. The fish tacos not fried are the best in town!!! Will go again. Tried a nice local beer delicious.

I like this place for the different libations they offer. It's fun and had put for seating. At night it can get pretty cliquey with people who work down town and their coworkers meeting up. Everyone knows every one who works down town. Nice or for seating. Work a visit.
