Here on vacation in the Berkshires and this is the second time eating here. We're on the outside deck overlooking a pond, very casual. Food is great and plenty of it. Drinks are great as well.

This place used to be decent. Only thing they have going for them now is the deck/view. The service is embarrassing and the food has been cold the last three times we've been there. This most recent visit will more than likely be our last. They can't even get drinks out quickly let alone hot food. Total joke

The deck and view are the only reasons to go. Food is hit or miss on a regular basis. Kitchen is disorganized and I worry if it's sanitary. Stick with fish and lobster. They seem to keep this fresh (probably because they sell a lot of it).

I cannot in good faith recommend this place to anyone...we requested to be seated in a certain area, but they refused and offered a lame excuse as to why not, but then when we looked around they ended up giving the table to a group that was there for the same reason that we were there for. I don't know whether or not it was racially motivated, but they really need to learn that customers come first

good location on a busy road on a pretty lake. Food was decent pub style fare, seems to get the touring biker crowd........

We were driving back from the Clark when a friend texted me and said I had to try Matt Reilly's if I was in the neighborhood and I'm glad I followed his advise. We sat out on the deck and enjoyed the lovely weather. We ordered a lobster roll and clam bellies and both were outstanding in terms of size, taste and value. I could only dream of a lobster roll that good, that meaty and at that price in NYC. I grew up eating clams every weekend and these were as good or better than any I've ever had. The vinegary cole slaw was also wonderful. Service was well above average in every regard. My only complaint? They could use 2 or 3 American microbrews on tap. Real ones, not junk like Shock Top or Sam Adams. So many bars offer a million flavors of beer nothingness and nothing with flavor. Not sure why...

Love this establishment. Especially the outdoor deck where you can enjoy a meal or just have drinks with an appetizer.

Food...... ehhhhhhh most of it is packaged and frozen.... the bar is ok.... location... unbelievable.... right on the water.... great deck to sit on.... if you don't mind not eating. This place has been up for sale for a long time.... the owner is tired, and wants out, but at the same time, wants more than a million for the biz..... sad to see a great place go to pot!

Man, I love this place!! I am a seafood fanatic and this is where they shine in my humble opinion. I typically order the belly clams when I come here... they are top notch in my opinion. the sweet potato fries are soooo good, the zucchini fries are delis.... I have been going here for years with my parents so I have pretty much had all the seafood on the menu and it is all super tasty. the service is usually really good, although they do seem to be short staffed at times... I will continue to keep going here as long as the food stays as good as it currently is.

A mixed experience at best...The food was actually pretty good, the place is casual with decent prices. The service was absolutely terrible, from the hostess and the waitress. The day we went it was moderately busy, but not crazy or packed with people. The wait staff just couldn't do their jobs. Certainly the hostess could have been managing things much much better, she just didn't care. Our waitress was nice enough, but terrible at her job. We waited a very very long time to be waited on, we didn't get silverware until we asked and salads came after the food. It had nice view of water and easy to find location, I just wish they could get their act together, but until they do, I won't be back.

This is an okay restaurant with a soothing view of beautiful Pontoosuc Lake. We went on a Saturday evening in the summer, and they were short-handed staff-wise, so services was sloooooow, though most of the staff we dealt with were outstandingly friendly and helpful. We had two highlights being here: playing minigolf across the street (also a driving range and chip&putt course, and had nothing to do with the restaurant), and skipping stones on the lake. This spot definitely was not ideal in any way for optimum stone skipping, but we had a blast trying anyway. Food: 3/5 Service: 2/5 Ambiance: 2/5 Cleanliness: 1/5 View: 4/5 Drinks 4/5 Outdoor dining: 4/5 Air Conditioning: 4/5

Meager beer selection. Most seafood is fried. Surly staff.

I am not reviewing this so much for the food, but more as a buyer beware. The food was decent and service was ok. Prices are a bit high for a casual place. The problem I has was two fold. The first warning...soft drinks refills are NOT free, just another way for this place to nickle and dime you. The big issue was that a 23% gratuity was added to the check. We only had 3 people....bill was $80 + $18 gratuity. I asked the waitress about it and she said yes it was correct. My friends didn't want to cause a scene, so we just left. I will not be back and will tell my friends about my experience.

Staff was rude and not interested in our business. Our party of 4 wanted to sit outside and enjoy the beautiful lake - one of the main attractions, right? Well it was 7:57pm and they, for some unknown reason, stop seating outside at 8:00pm. They said it was too late, we pointed out that it wasn't. We left, even though they begrudgingly were going to seat us. If you ran the place wouldn't you welcome new customers with open arms? Based on other reviews our experience with the staff was not unique. They need some competition on the lake!

You don't go to Matt Reilly's for the food. The menu is limited standard pub fare with a large selection of fried fish and shellfish. Their fried selections and salads are average at best. The fish is fresh, but the breadings are too thick and sometimes greasy. The lobster roll is rather flavorless. Fries have run from decent to limp.. Having said that, the view over the lake is really nice so it's a nice place to hang out on the deck, have a beer and share a plate of fried clams or whatever, or better yet, just stick with the beer. Prices are fair, and service acceptable.

So nothing spectacular but if your in Pittsfield this is nothing surprising. I went out to have lunch with a friend. Normal lunch fare donned the menu. One thing on the menu stuck out more then the rest and that was the sausage burger. I promptly ordered it without a second thought. The burger was unique enough to be tasty though simple enough to not overdue it. This meal while not over the top was good enough to try and kinda wish more places offered this on their menus. The outdoor seating is right on the lake which does set a nice mood and the waitress was nice.
