This is one of my favorite resturant for chicken wings. They have very good choices of sauce they can add to the wings. They have everything from sweet chicken (peanut butter and jelly) to crazy hot (Ghostrider). My most favorite here is Cajun chicken Sandwich with Cajun steak fries on side. We have also got catering order from here too friends loved the wings.

WORST CUSTOMER SERVICE EVER!!! I ordered wings from here last night, as someone told me about them and I wanted to try before I could order them for my husband's party on Saturday. I was at work and they charged my card and said it would be 30mins for them to deliver. He was rushing me off the phone. 1.5hrs later I called them when they said they called me (which they didn't) and they came to deliver and they were told nobody works there by that name( which is absolutely not true). I tried to explain to him nobody called me or came by he rudely said we did everything we could. I asked for a refund but by that time he had hanged up. I called today to find out about my refund the guy was extremely rude he even told me never to call back. I was SHOCKED... I wasn't rude to him I just tried to explain nobody called me or tried to deliver... I will NEVER order from here... And management should educate their staff on customer service. That's the worst customer service I have ever had in my entire life. I'm not even sure if they will refund my card, I also cancelled my credit card I just don't trust this people, based on how everything happened. So disappointed..-:(

The list of sauces is exhaustive!! So many to choose from it's hard to settle on just one! The wings themselves are mediocre, overcooked and not much meat on them. I love the buffalo sauce cheese sticks, they are fantastic!
(3)Bryce A.
I was SUPER skeptical about the PB&J wings. But not gonna lie......they were pretty awesome. Wings could have been fried a little crispier, but overall it was great for a quick bite.
(4)Amanda B.
We have ordered from here a few times and never had any complaints, but then I ordered grilled chicken with rice and vegetables and it was horrible! The chicken was under or overcooked and the rice and veggies weren't even cooked right. The veggies weren't cooked all the way and the rice was hard and clumped together. :( They could do better.

RECONSIDER, OVER PRICED, ZERO FLAVOR, AWFUL AWFUL AWFUL !! Really surprised at the high reviews.. not worth the hype at all. This my second time here (against my will, my husband insisted..) and definitely my last. I ordered the "takes two to mango" (3 pepper) supposedly this is mango habanero flavored ..Yea no spice, at all. My face was hotter than these wings out of anger, AND no mango flavor!! Mushy yellow coated fried chicken was what I received. I don't know if they use real mango and they aren't waiting for them to be ripe, or if they use mango powder they seriously need to use more. And they're pepper scale is wayyyyyyy off. It was a terrible waste of space in my stomach and should really be removed from the menu The wicked pb+j wings (3 pepper) were somewhat tasty but again NOT EVEN A LITTLE KICK! So annoying.. if I wanted sweet or bland wings, I'D ORDER ONES THAT DON'T SAY SPICY! get your act together Cajun fries = soggy and disappointing like the rest An Hour wait time The only reason I'm giving 2 stars and not 1 is for the M-80s. Those lived up to the name at least. Not fabulous but at least I could tell the difference between them and oatmeal. I guess that's what happens when you use actual peppers instead of whatever the hell they put on my wings Sorry Sparkys, you're just disappointing
(2)Carly G.
I've basically tried every Flavor of wings , But i would honestly have a cajun burger over WINGS anytime! Burgers are priced well and come with fries but wings are very pricey for a lunch option! My Delivery Was quick but that could be because i live 5-8 min away from the spot. CUSTOMER SERVICE IS REALLY REALLY REALLY IMPORTANT !
(3)Md Q.
Meh... It was decent. Got a steak tip sub and a 5 piece and fry special with the pb&j wings. Took forever. They had like 6 people working there and nobody had any hustle... A bit dingy but good for takeout. Anyway... Its worth a try even though the wings are kinda small...
(1)Amanda C.
I'd like to give them zero stars if I could. Worst customer service ever!!!! I will never come back here, which is unfortunate because they have the best wings. I've had issues with my order in the past and boycotted the place for a while. I decided to give them another shot because they're wings are the best around, but never again! I was put on hold three times while trying to call my order in. Once while I was actually in the middle of talking! I had a feeling they had my order wrong from the start. It's not as if two orders of wings is all that complicated. When I picked up the order the woman behind the counter had a poor time multitasking and managing what she had in front of her. She was a disorganized mess. I worked in food service for years and have never seen such disorganization from an established restaurant. I get my order home and it was wrong. I call and tell them about the error and go to pick it up. The disorganized woman behind the counter was so rude. She demanded the incorrect order back and accused me of trying to get something for free when they were the ones who screwed up the order! She argued with me in front of the other customers until I gave her the incorrect order. After all that my order wasn't even ready. I'll never go back.

Since under new ownership Ive experienced longer wait times for delivery poor food quality and hassle from the owner. I was kicked out of sparkies for having a bad attitude. Little did the owner know I was sick of their lackluster service as I used to get delivery every sunday and I told him how I felt quality was being compromised. I was told to leave after I told him His blue cheese dressing "sucked". He is a real asshole who deserves to have his business license revoke and shut down. Also I asked for silverware while eating in not once but twice! Additionally the older lady who is usually ringing the orders is not very smart. What could take no longer than a minute to order takes about 3 because of her failure to be quick and efficient. Lastly I noticed the cooking staff is made up of mostly derelicts I attended high school with. Finally the owner threatened to call authorities as I was chugging my second beer of the evening in order leave that shithole.
(2)Autumn M.
I have been going here for a while and I love it. There is a wing flavor for every person, spicy, sweet, tangy, herbaceous. I usually get the 3 piece boneless wings because they come with fries also. PLUS they always give more than 3 pieces :)
(4)chris b.
Love the wings, Love the place, Service was great. Peanut butter and jelly were a great treat.
(4)Don J.
To put simply maybe the best wings you can find around and with a creative spin on it. You can argue pricey, although true you pay for what you get. Find a wing you like and you'll be hooked.
(5)Brandon S.
This is a great place for what it is - a casual place with great chicken wings. The dining area is certainly nothing to write home about (plenty of pick-up orders), but that's part of the charm. The wings are fantastic. If you get the boneless wings, they are basically large chicken strips. I was thinking they would be the small boneless kind and got way too many. Not to worry, they were just as delicious as leftovers. Great selection of flavors for the wings, so you're sure to be able to find something you like. My personal favorite is the Carolina Sweet. They also do seasonal/rotating flavors like Maple Whisky BBQ (Vermonster). Great local spot just off the main drag in Haverhill.
(4)Audrey M.
This place is awesome. They have tons of delicious and creative sauces. I'm working my way down the wing menu and so far my favorite sauces are the Wicked PB&J and Holy Chipotle. If you like Buffalo wings, or basically any form of breaded, fried chicken you need to try this place! It can get quite busy and you need to be patient when it does, but the wings and boneless tenders are always worth the wait.
(4)Gevorg K.
When it comes to chicken wings, I'm not sure if anyone in the Haverhill area can out-do Sparky's Wings and Things. They have a variety of flavors, of which I have only tried eight. My favorite is hands-down the Wicked PB + J. Although it may sound weird, the blend of spicy jelly and peanut sauce is absolutely perfect. I want to get these every time, but I try to sample the other flavors. The Flight of the Bumblebee (a sweet, semi-spicy wing with real honey) and the honey garlic wings are also very good. For those that like standard buffalo wings, the Trouble wings pack the perfect amount of flavor and heat. I was mostly disappointed with the Takes Two to Mango wings (Spark's take on Mango Habanero). They lacked flavor and had almost no kick whatsoever. The main reason I didn't give Sparky's a 5 star rating is due to their price. A 30-piece order (although it does come with celery/carrots and a macaroni salad) runs over $30. That's over a dollar a wing, which I find to be a bit much. But at least they are able to deliver the goods when it comes to tasty wings. UPDATE:: Sparky's has gone slightly downhill over the past year. The wings lack the crisp and flavor they once had. Not sure if it had to do with the change in ownership, but the quality of the food no longer justifies the hefty price tag. 3-stars.
(3)Lisa L.
Simply the best place for wings. I always get the boneless wings and PB&J are my fav! Sounds strange, but try them and you will thank me. They are very popular so plan on a little wait, but I have never had an unreasonable wait.
(5)Brian C.
I was hoping for a better experience from Sparky's but my first visit here was a little bit of a let down. We tried to call ahead to place a takeout order but nobody answered the phone. So we figured we would just head on down and place the order there. It shouldn't take too long to fry up 10 wings and coat them in wing sauce, right?...WRONG! We got there and 2 people were waiting for their food ahead of us. I ordered 10 wings with the Flight Of The Bumblebee sauce flavor. After waiting for 45 minutes I finally was able to taste them. I'll give their taste 4 stars. Restaurants around here don't do wings very well but these were definitely right on the mark. I will probably go here again because I really need to try the PB & J flavor that people rave about. The Flight Of The Bumblebee sauce was lacking the spicyness that I was hoping they would have but that's okay. Also, the price here seems a little steep for what you get.

AVOID! I called in an order for delivery consisting of two 5 piece on the bone chicken wing dinners. When the order arrived I went into my wallet only to realize I had lost the money I had had in there at some point during my day. My fault for not checking before they arrived. I apologized and asked if I called in if I could give my card number and do it that way and give him a cash tip (Didn't have enough for the whole meal) he said no problem and he would call to let them know. checking my account today I was charged $21 for my order not even including the cash tip I had already given. FOR 10 WINGS!!!! I have no idea why I thought I could trust doing that. Haven't heard one good thing about this place lately. I miss the old owners. See you later Sparkys.

Great place from start to finish. Walked in the door on a Friday night, and was immediately greeted by the owner at the counter. Told him it was my first time, and that I wanted to sample a few different wings. He then proceeded to give me a bunch of different sauce samples. After five or six samples, I picked out three. Chatted with the owner for a few minutes about the area before taking a seat with a beer to watch TV while waiting for my wings to arrive. As I sat I found myself really just taking in the action behind the counter. The owner clearly has great people skills - he was chatting with people on the phone and regulars as they came in the door. This guy gets it. A little about the menu - Wings came either bone in or boneless. Seemed like about 25 - 30 flavors to chose from. The menu offered lots of other options for people who aren't into wings. Nice beer selection (all bottles) Wings came out - they were great. I had PB+J, Firecracker, and Brushfire. All three were great, but I had a leaning towards both the PB+J and Firecracker. Wings came with macaroni salad, carrot sticks, celery, and some ranch dressing on the side. Prices seemed reasonable - especially seeing that all the sauces seemed to be made on premisses. Atmosphere - Clean, but a little messy / cluttered. There was some kind of display case next to the counter that seemed to served no purpose - I'm guessing it was meant to display the sauces and t-shirts, but it was pretty much empty when I looked at it. The trash barrel was also right next to the counter - seems like it would be better suited someplace else. Lastly, I liked t-shirts. I really liked the one on the wall of a chicken saying nervously... "What do you mean buffalo wings aren't made of buffalo?" I don't make it to Haverhill much, but this place is very much on my radar next time I'm in the area.

We have been here several times and always had good experiences. However the past 2 visits we have had some issues. My 10 piece bone in order only had 9 wings at our 2nd to last visit. When you are paying over $1 a wing that is unacceptable. On our last visit there on 4/19/14, 3 of the 4 people we were with ordered boneless wings and ended up with food poisoning, one person was severly sick. We notified management, they did apologize and offered a gift card, but I can no longer recommend sparkys.
(1)Richard R.
Best chicken wings I've had since moving to Massachusetts. don't shy away from the pb& J wings they are awesome. Not sweet at all like I worried about they have a little spice and are really good.
(4)Alan M.
So I decided to give Sparky's one last chance, and I called in for a delivery. The man on the phone actually sounded like he knew what he was talking about. I ordered a 3pc Boneless of Bonfire BBQ and a 4pc boneless dinner of Jamaican me crazy. The delivery came in about 30-40mins which is good because it normally takes about an hour, which as long as it's hot, I don't care about how long it takes. When I opened up the container, it was like the sparky's I use to know. I got the 4pc and got probably about 6-7pieces. It tasted awesome, I'll change my review to a 5 star the next time I order in the restaurant once I see how the customer service is in house.
(4)Niko D.
Great food this place makes the best chicken I've ever had they have the a bunch of different flavors I think about 60+ flavors. They have other things like burgers fries stuff like that and chicken tenders and wings. I prefer the tenders and my dad prefers the wings so it's hard to request one because he got Caroline on both and prefers wings so that's your call but none the less if your anywhere near the place you have to try it
(5)George L.
I dig this place. Super tasty wings and sauces. The Spiny Dog is great. Small, dingy joint but the owners are super friendly. Not sure about a sauce? Ask to try a taste they are happy to help out. My 2nd visit I tried the Double Trouble (their Spiciest on the menu) but felt it was sorta medium. They said they'd make them spicier if I'd like. The Firecracker and PB and J flavors are tops. PASS
(4)Suzie L.
I was challenged to come to Haverhill to try the "great wings" at Sparky's by a fellow yelper. "Great wings" was enough to spark my interest. Also, getting the chance to meet 2 yelpers that love wings added to the awesomeness of my visit. The wings here are really, really good! They let you split the order into different flavor wings. We got the Teriyaki Wings, Jamaican Me Crazy Wings (2 pepper rating), Trouble Wings (3 pepper rating) and the Double Trouble Wings (4pepper rating). All with the right amount of kick and pizazz. I felt like I had sparks coming out of my mouth and the top of my head while eating the Double Trouble Wings. If anyone needed a light I'm sure I could have just blown them a light. The Blue cheese was also good. The server was friendly and helpful. The prices are good too. The larger the order, it averages out to about a dollar a wing. Sparky's you gave me a sparkle in my eye!
(5)Barbara A.
Sorry Buff's, had you today only to confirm what I feared - Sparky's ... is ... (gulp) ... better. That was really hard to write and admit because I can't always drive the 40/45 minutes to get you. I know you deliver but probably not this far. Frannie started my 50 cent Haverhill tour with this place and it was amazing! We split a wing sampler plate (we were pacing ourselves for the rest of the gastronomic tour) . We chose Jamaican me crazy , Hot Rod Buffalo (2nd degree hot) and Honey Garlic. Yum, yummier, yummiest! They were all good and, as I write this review, I am having a problem picking which one I liked best. It is like picking your favorite child - each is special in its own way. I guess that is why the sampler is good because you don't have to chose.
(5)Stephanie C.
Sparky's is SO good! Luckily, I live a block away from them, which is awesome! I got their Cajun Bayou Dry Rub wings and it was excellent. My boyfriend got their Pterodactyl Wings and those were excellent as well! It came with fries and the perfect amount of wings. You can also get beer there too! Didn't think you could because it's a little place. The only down fall of Sparky's is that they're not open really late! Last week I was dying for some Sparky's at 9:30 and they were closed :( Please stay open later, Sparky's!!
(5)Rand H.
Sparky's flew under my radar for years. I stopped in tonight for the first time and was impressed by the menu. I'll have to come back for another try, though, as my first 3 styles were less than thrilling. I got 3 "5 wing piece + fries" meals. At 6.90 each, I thought it (and the rest of the wing menu) was overpriced. Please note that "piece" means "half wing." Not that I was counting or anything, but of 15 pieces I only got 2 drumettes. Hot Rod: A good standard Buffalo wing Chipotle: I can't quite describe it. I was expecting something Mexicany. Not. Jamaican: Jerk is one of my favorite flavors. This wasn't jerk...and I'd venture aguess that the sauce had gone bad.
(3)Worcestershire Ca T.
After all the hype about Sparky's, I was a little disappointed with my order. I ordered a split of Ghostriders and Wicked PB&J one night for delivery. I'm about 10 minutes away from Sparky's but my order took between 40 and 50 to arrive. The delivery driver was really friendly, but the wait seemed a bit excessive. The wings weren't bad, but I wasn't impressed with the Ghostriders heat at all, and the wicked PB&J could have used a little more of the jelly flavor. The wings aren't the jumbo-sized you see in some dedicated wing joints, but given the range of options and sauces, I wouldn't call Sparky's a bad deal. Nothing was so off that I would tell anyone to stay away from Sparky's, but I'll have to try it again before I can fully endorse it.
(3)Daniel M.
I wish I lived in this town. I was working in the area and decided to pass by. I love wings and theses were among the best that I have had in years. I had the PB&J wings which were delicious and the habenero poppers which were good but I wanted to rip my tongue out they were so hot and I decided to eat one on the way home in my car with no drinks. I was hurting for about 40 mins until I was able to get a drink.
(5)Josh S.
Great little hidden gem, don't be afraid to step out of the norm. Excellent Customer Service!
(5)Chris M.
Surprised to see all of the positive comments... Overpriced & overrated. Ordered chipotle and honey garlic wings. Both sauces were terrible, flavorless- no kick at all. The skin on the wings also wasn't cooked enough. The fat in the skin has to be rendered so they're kinda crispy or at least firm. - These were still kinda fatty- gross...
(2)Clayton M.
First you go here for the wings... not the decor. As far as atmosphere and building goes, it is a hole in the wall which means it's gonna be a great wing place. The wings: Where to start? They have everything ranging from mild to wild. My favorites are the Dragon's Breath and Double Trouble. Double Trouble is nice and spicy without killing the flavor of the rest of the sauce. If you like garlic, Dragon's Breath is for you. All the sauces are quality though. The staff: They seem to be a close group of friends. They have fun and entertain all why putting out kick ass wings. They are extremely friendly and helpful. Overall, what you see is what you get. Great, simple, kick ass wings. Highly recommend.
(5)Allyson W.
Sparky's was recently sold to new owners. The food is still consistently good, and the new owners seem to be able to make the sauces just like the old owners. There was a period of time over the winter when it was hit or miss about whether they would be open, leading us to be disappointed a few times when we showed up and they were closed. It seems like they are back to being open everyday except Tuesday now.
(5)Kerri Y.
....AND they deliver! This is especially ideal if you are having a party and running around last minute. These wings always go over great at parties- so having them delivered to your doorstep is fantastic!
(4)Elizabeth F.
Yummy wings, fun and tasty. Great for SUPERBOWL! my favorite is peanut butter and jelly, weird combo but boy so yummy. My kids and I love it!
(5)Julie H.
best. chicken. ever. I love this place. I love the prices. I love the couple who runs it. Always yummy and fresh with a great selection of wing sauces and rubs. I recommend 1. healthy choice grilled chix wrap 2. Bayou dry rub chix fingers 3. Cajun fries. They aren't open on Tuesdays, which seems to be the day I crave them...
(5)Melissa F.
This place is a hidden Gem! My preference is the Tongue Thai'd wings boneless style. They have just the right amount of kick to them without being overpowering. The staff is always friendly and when wanting to try something new they are always offering up new suggestions! My husband and I no longer live in Haverhill yet STILL travel 20 min out of our way to get our fix.
(5)Sarah C.
I just moved to the area a month ago and have already returned twice (it is that good!) I am really not a huge chicken wing fan but they know what they are doing here! First time I ordered the PB & J bone in wings and they were really yummy! as well as some boneless Firecracker wings (soooooooo good). The second time, I wanted to try the Firecracker again, and they were spicer than I had remembered, but still just as delicious! I also tried the honey mustard ones- they were good but could use a bit more sauce (i must admit i overdo it on sauces). It gets busy here- onceI tried to call ahead but they were busy and it went straight to the mailbox so I just ended up ordering in the place and waiting. They serve beer (in bottles) but it's good to have with dinner or while waiting for pickup, haha! The staff is super friendly... check it out!
(4)Marc S.
Never set foot in the place. A relative brought in 10 different styles of wings. I was impressed with how meaty they were. They were chewy and filled me up after eating 6 wings. The total opposite of bar food wings that are fried up with sauce pored over it as they are served.
(5)Bill C.
Sparky's is awesome! I am fat so clearly wings are my favorite food! The burgers are actually real good too. The wings are meaty. the buffalo sauce is good, honey mustard is great pbandj is OK.
(5)Frannie Z.
Went in today to finally try the spiny dog. Last time I had spoken to the boss, he mentioned they were getting new menus. Well that they did and wouldn't ya know, there was an oopsie and the spiny dogs didn't make the menu. But they DO still make them and dang if they aren't good! I got one with mustard/sweet relish and one chili cheese. The dog is flavorful and I believe a natural casing although the "spiny" part makes the snap negligible. The chili is the best I've ever had on a dog. So even though they aren't "traditional", they spiny dog is damn good. The new menu also contained 10 (yep, count'em 10) new wing styles in addition to your old fave's. The pepper ratings usually go from none to four. Their new ghostriders wings have a 10 pepper rating. I'm not tryin' them, you try 'em & lemme know how they are after the firemen put that fire in your mouth out. One last update that I must apologize for not mentioning before, they do sell beer here. So if you are in the mood for a beer to go with your wings, have at it. Note: For the dogs alone, they'd probably get a 4 but since wings are their thing, I'm sticking with a 5 as an overall rating.
(5)Peter F.
Great selection, and the only place to get the Ghostriders! They're not just hot, they're really delicious! Looking forward to trying the PB&J wings! Left me craving for more, and I can't wait for my next visit!
(5)Kerri O.
Great wings! No doubt, no doubt! We made a major detour to swing by and pick up some wings last night. I was the opposite of disappointed, too. Thank you Frannie, for cluing me into this joint! Not that I'm up this way all too often, but we will plan on picking up wings, while even remotely near here! We got the Honey Garlic, and the Shanghai Noon flavors. Very yummy! Quick note: pick up the menu, there's flavors there, that haven't made it to the Posted menu, yet. Like, the Tuscan Wings, which I would have tried.
(5)Emily C.
I have been pretty drunk here and they've never thrown me out. I love the wings. They've got a metric ass-load of different flavors to choose from. Now, I'm a traditional kind of gal so I usually go for some type of hot wing. Tell them you've been to a Turkish prison and that their "double-trouble wings" present no trouble at all; they'll upgrade you to a much hotter variety. BURN MY FACE OFF!!!
(5)Tulan K.
Ok so this is my second review for sparkys. Great stuff again.. and looks like not only the owners but the employees working there are just as nice and pleasant as the owners. This time i had chipotle sauced boneless wings with cajun fries while my friend had the cajun chicken sandwitch which he munched like it was no one business and mentioned before it is the bomb i hear. but i am sucker for boneless wings. this time around the order of 5 wings came with 8. Aslo gave me the sweet and spice BBq sauce to try like the last time. Very satisfied and will keep coming back
(5)Mark G.
Yelp really needs to get their crap together before it starts costing places like this business! They've been under a new owner for a while now. A couple of TUESDAYS ago I was going through my menu drawer and saw Sparky's. I saw on the old menu that it was closed on Tuesdays. But, knowing it was a new owner, thought maybe the days/hours may have changed? I gave them a call just to be sure. Sure enough they answered the phone, and were in fact open. The wings are great! The size of French Fries could be bigger. A little expensive, I usually get a 20 piece wings, and a large and small fries-again BC they don't give a lot, and it costs me about $26. A little pricey for a single person's dinner (reason for the 4 and not 5 stars). But that's why I treat myself about once a month. The people that work there, and own it are really nice and accomodating. Give them a try when you're sick of burgers and pizza- you won't be sorry!
(4)Jennifer M.
I finally got around to giving this place a try and I think its a good concept with all of the different flavors. Ordered the mango habanero wings and the jamaican me crazy- they were pretty good, and i'll be looking forward to trying all the varieties out.
(4)Lex F.
Between the great grub and shooting the Shatner with the owner, everytime I'm here, I'm happy. Like, existentialist happy. Like, what the Buddhists refer to as Nirvana happy. I'm gonna start off with the only negative to get it outta the way. I never get out of there without spending like, 20 bucks. For myself. Which, for a dive, albeit as sexy a dive it is, it kinda hurts my wallet. But that being said, I'm still there almost every Thursday night. So come say hey. Anywho, the food is always exquisite. Granted, that word is a bit too fancy for the place, but c'est la vie. Everything on the menu has my stamp of approval. The burgers are greasy goodness (try the Black 'n' Blue, smothered with blue cheese), and the Steak Tips are marinated and juicy. But those are all the side dishes. You come here for the wings. The team of Mad Scientists behind the counter have somehow come up with some of the most delicious combinations known to man. From the simple, yet genius Dragon's Breath (Butter, Garlic and Herbs? Get me some some linguini and I'll be a happy fat man), to the way out there Peanut Butter and Jelly wings (Don't be scared. Do it. DO. IT.), there's something out there for every one. Sides dishes are sometimes a bit on the pricy side, but very worth it. Personal favourites include the zesty Cajun Fries (try them with cheese and bacon. Mmm. Bacon), the Jack and Blue Cheese cheesesticks (complete with a side of spicy buffalo), to the sinister M-80s (the Jalapeno popper's older, angrier brother who probably has been to prison but we don't talk about that infront of Grandma). Finally, to top off the meal, Richie's Italian ice. It's like a flash back to my childhood around the beaches. Although, I really, really wish they'd bring back the Coffee slush. It was like an after-dinner coffee to help me cope with the fire on my tongue after noshing on some spicy wings. Long story short: Don't even think about it. Go there. Now. Great to go on Friday night to put a not-so-healthy layer of grease before going drinking.

A sandwich advertised as a "buffalo chicken sandwich" should be a breaded chicken sandwich, and if its not breaded chicken, it should be advertised as grilled. Didn't taste bad, but not what I was expecting. Sauces look interesting though, will need to try more.

Finally!! After a mad search in New England to find some awesome wings, we finally found them at Sparky's. Wings need to be crispy on the outside without too much breading, juicy on the inside, and have an awesome flavor. These were perfect. We've been there twice now, both times I've ordered the Shanghai Noon wings. They started off as just ok, but by the time I was done with my order I wanted to drink the sauce! My bf has gotten two diff flavors both times, so I can't recall his flavors. I do know that he loves spicy food. He tried the double trouble and didn't think they were hot enough. So he asked for a sample of the ghostrider sauce to put on a dry rub and it was crazy, make you sweat hot. I can't wait to go back to try a few more flavors!

Best wings...Shot up thier prices since they were on the Phantom Gourmet...but overall great eats here
(4)paul m.
This place is thebomb.com The wings are incredible. My wife and I have gotten a couple flavors of boneless delivered. Her favorite is Shanghai Noon. I haven't found a favorite yet. I really like spicy food, but hate when you get the food too spicy to eat, so I have been easing into the spicier realm. From what I can tell thus far, the 3 star spicy food is not that spicy. The wing sauce is always great and sticks to the wing well. They're not super messy to eat either. The best part about these bad Larry's is that even after a delivery trip the wings are still crispy underneath the saucy goodness. Don't waste your time with the sides. The only notably good one we've tried is the macaroni salad, which is great. The fries are meh... and the cheese fries with bacon would be great if they would exercise a little restraint in drowning these fried roots in cheese sauce. The things were swimming in it. Like literally, when I got an order, I couldn't even see french fries. This is the place to go if you are craving chicken in Haverhill. F Chicken Connection.

I have been going to Sparkys for about 4 months now. I found the courtesy of the Phantom, and am I ever grateful! I prefer the boneless option, but bone in wings are great here too. The flavor varieties are never ending. my favorite would have to be PB&J, so far! The black and blue burger with spicy fries is a staple of my Sparkys diet. Spiny dogs look awesome as well. Service is always good, and very welcoming. they have Richie's Slush in tons of flavors to help cool the burn. I give 4 stars due to the lack of Atmosphere and the dining room. But to be honest this is more of a take out joint anyways.

Sparky's was ok. Nothing fantastic and if you are not a local, not worth the drive. They have a large selection of wings, most flavors lean towards the "spicy" side of sauces with a small selection of sweet sauces. The wings are fairly small, don't go there expecting mondo wings. They also have sandwiches and hotdogs. Between my bf and I we split 20 wings and that was about right (had some leftover). The wings came with a very small container of macaroni salad, which was not very good. Kind of tasteless. I guess the Phantom Gourmet went there are some point and thats noted all over the restaraunt...maybe they used to be better?? If you are local, its a fine chicken wing place but defintely not worth the drive otherwise and btw they close at 10pm.

So I moved to Haverhill about two years ago. We get mail of random nearby places menus. Sparky's was one of the first batch we got. We read through and contemplated going for the Trouble/Double Trouble wings. Honestly, I don't even know why we waited as long as we did (barring bills). We have been going AT LEAST once a month when we have the extra money around. Sometimes more. We nearly always get the Double Trouble, on the bone. However, this last time was a bit different. They FINALLY had the dried Ghost Peppers to make their Ghost Riders. I ordered 10 of those in addition to the normal 20 DTs. Let me inform you, those are not to be trifled with. The spicy is latent for a few seconds after you bite into it. Then it smacks you in the mouth with a hot iron. It was heavenly. The burn lasted quite some time, and it wasn't a bad type of burn. I didn't even think of drinking anything. Awesome no? It is, when they have them. They usually sell out of them pretty fast, but this was a Friday night. I've asked a couple times before, and they always had run out. This time I was lucky. The sides are, as others have mentioned, mediocre at best, but I like them anyway. The burgers are pretty good, too, though the buns they use are useless if you get anything other than a normal cheeseburger; I had the Nacho Burger (If I remember correctly), and it almost fell apart the second I picked it up. Parking isn't usually a problem; there are two sides to the street, and a parking lot or two you can try to park in, if you are just picking up some food. If you are into the spicy, and like chicken (and who DOESN'T!?), then Sparky's is the place in Haverhill. Possibly in the Merrimack Valley. DO IT.
(5)Rich B.
Spectacular! Nobody anywhere makes wings better than Sparky's, trust me! A flavor for everyone from the mildest of milds to ghost pepper. Worth traveling to.
(5)Amanda P.
Great boneless fingers! I haven't tried the wings yet. I had the honey garlic which were yummy! I think I want to try the Dragon's breath next. I think I got my husband the wild but mild with a touch of trouble sauce. It was still too much for him and he usually likes them hotter than me. The chicken itself was juicy while the coating stayed crunchy. That's definitely a requirement for me! We'll be back, especially since they deliver.
(5)Bos'n H.
I like this place..... A LOT. I've eaten here 3 times and it's been consistently fantastic. Every sauce I've tried so far is delish (don't ask me what they are, but I've prob tried 10 flavors) Unfortunately I haven't tried much other than the wings, like the burgers or other sammies. ALTHOUGH....the fried buffalo bleu cheese sticks are NOM NOM NOM. Think mozzarella sticks, but the bleu cheese is soft not stretchy, then rolled in buffalo sauce and served with blue cheese dressing. I nearly shot to the moon after trying one. I have to echo what another person said about the pasta salad. Bland and lame-O. But who cares? They have WINGS.
(5)Travis L.
I'll keep this brief...I mean, how many paragraphs do you need to talk about chicken wings? Tried the medium heat chicken wings and they were great...tasted like a franks red hot with some butter tossed in....the chicken they used was great...wasn't slimy or overcooked. Also tasted the shanghai noon wings...teriyaki and a bbq fusion and having never been to shanghai I can only assume that these wings would bring a smile to any prostitute in shanghai. I'm taking off a half mark for price (some items are cheap others are over price) but the menu is extensive so even if you don't like wings...there's plenty of other stuff on the menu...when yelp figures out a way to create half stars I'd give this a 4.5/5
(4)Tony C.
I love their pb&j boneless wings
(4)Ace H.
Hands down absolute best wings EVER
(5)Susan D.
Based on Yelp reviews, I forwarded the website to BF, who ordered a combination of boneless and bone-in wings for the Super Bowl shindig we attended at a friend's house in Haverhill. BF ordered Cajun and Hot Rod Buffalo wings, and they were delicious--meaty and flavorful. (We had plenty left over to bring home, as all the Patriots fans lost their appetites in the second half of the game. Touche.) I'd love to go back and try their other sauces, particularly the much-ballyhooed PB&J and Shanghai Noon flavors. Unfortunately, I don't know when we'll be able to revisit Sparky's because downtown Haverhill's a bit of a haul from Nashua, but I'm sure we'll do so sooner rather than later.
(4)John P.
The wings are great. I must warn anyone who likes spicy food. THE M-80 HABERNERO POPPERS ARE BRUTAL! Yummy, but made me feel like I was Maced!
(4)Karen P.
The best place in Haverhill!! Love their Grilled Chicken Dinner with rice, veggies and salad for around $9.00. Hands down the best wings anywhere.
(4)Justin M.
Great Food very tasty. The guy who served us was Very friendly and helpful. The establishment needs work but i didnt mind. Great flavors and the wings were seasoned very well not like Buffalo Wild Wings.
(4)Stacey M.
I saw the review of sparky's on phantom gourmet and thought usually I disagree with phantom but this down the street from my work and I like buffalo wings. I especially like buffalo wings on salad. So I made my own salad at home and went to sparky's for lunch got an order of 8 boneless buffalo wings. Th wings are large. I ate 3 on the salad and saved the rest for my lunch the next day. Service was friendly. I ended up trying the double trouble wings. The spice was definitely there but not so hot you burn your mouth and cannot taste anything else. The guy who took my order was friendly. Location is small and a little sketchy. Looking forward to trying some other flavors

As a recent transplant to Haverhill, I have been mostly relying on suggestions from friends for places to try out for some good eatin'. After receiving some good suggestions for places downtown, I am happy to report I have found a gem all on my own. Thanks to their spread in one of the local newsletter/paper advertisements that come with the daily junk mail, Sparky's caught my attention. YUM. Chicken wings, boneless "wings", burgers, fries = fabulous The sauce options are endless (from the usual range of mild to inferno buffalo sauce and honey mustard to more creative options like thai peanut, wings l'orange, and jamaican/hawaiian tropical sauces). After sampling a few your curiosity will be piqued and I'll bet you'll mix up your next order to try something different. Some of my faves: Peanut butter & jelly, Flight of the Bumblebee (Buffalo + honey), Teradactyl (buffalo + teryaki), Dragon Breath (butter, basil & fresh garlic), and Thai Ginger Lime. I generally go for the boneless wings as they absorb more delcious sauce and am not a fan of chicken skin but the bone in wings are fresh and healthy-sized. I have been shouting from the rooftops to all friends and co-workers who even live remotely near Haverhill to try Sparkys & find their favorite flavor. Best as a take out joint though there are tables and tvs for dine-ins, there is little to no atmosphere. Service is incredibly friendly and there is generally an on-street parking spot for you right on Emerson St for quick pick ups. Each order comes with carrots, celery, and a choice of blue cheese or ranch dressing. The macaroni salad that also accompanies orders is very flavorful but the pasta is always a bit soggy. I suggest they cook the pasta for a shorter time so when the noodles absorb some of the moisture from the salad fixings they will be more firm and less mush. You've gotta try Sparky's some night when you really don't want to cook and let me know what your fave flavor is!

I've visited friends in Haverhill regularly and this is their most common place to order from. The orders usually take a reasonable time to deliver. Compared to other places, they certainly have a very broad variety of wings, but they are a good measure dry compared to others I have had, where when you bite in, it definitely seems overcooked, the moisture inside wicked away. The size of the wings in general are also small compared to other places I have tried. I prefer on-the-bone wings, but my friends often order the boneless instead, and the boneless seems very dry each time, flaking apart rather than adhering together at the points that you bite. It's serviceable, but not my cup of tea. The wings are relatively lightly sauced, so that appeals to certain tastes. The burgers are okay, but nothing outstanding to me, being a simple griddled well-done burger. However, one highlight is their cajun fries. They are large steak fries that are indeed very spicy, enough that I can only have half an order. They are splashed with cayenne and... Mrs. Dash? Dishes to try: Cajun fries

I have gone here a couple times and loved it. While I was eating my wings today I started laughing and said "this looks so weird!" So as I looked closer I said omg, this looks like a heart! My boyfriend and I both looked at it then I looked up chicken heart on google images and it was identical. I am totally mortified. I have never in my life even held a chicken heart' and never intended on it.

Freaking awesome wing place North of Boston. Prices wise, it is about the same as Wing It down in Brighton but the owners are awesome. I had the Firecracker Wings and they were FANTASTIC! We also had the Bayou Dry Rub but wasn't as good. I had a hamburger as well and it was very good. I will def come back again. If you live in Haverhill, they deliver as well.
(4)Jason R.
One word....Awesome! My wife and I live for these wings. The only problem I have is the fact that some of my favorites are TOO popular. You have to go on the right day to get the Casper wings and the Ghost Rider wings. They are both legendary. The good news is, we always have our trusty "double trouble" wings to fall back on. We usually get 60 and eat half, then we reheat them for the next day. We love HOT peppers and these are great. We now have a problem, we are getting used to these things, so we need to find a way to get some more heat! I'm sure Sparky's will find a way.
(5)Toni D.
Good wings! very meaty and lots of sauces to choose from. The other menu items are pretty good also...like the burgers and cheese fries.
(4)Brian G.
My feelings on sparkies is complicated indeed. The selection is great and the flavors really are outstanding. In fact id eat here all the time if it wasnt for 2 things. First the wings are super small im not the kind of guy who orders boneless but with wings this small you really have to. My other problem is its just a little bit overpriced. The dinners arnt so bad but if you want to buy wings in quanity for a game there deals kind of suck. That being said the food as i said is yummy. I love the peanut butter and jelly which is really a chicken wing coated in a spicy indian peanut sauce with a fruit demi glaze coating. The contrast in flavors just works. In closing the food is good but the value leaves much to be desired.
(3)Stacie B.
Wings! Got take-out here with my parents and loved it so much that I had to bring my boyfriend. He had the medium temperature buffalo wings and loved them. My favorites are the Shanghai wings (a sweet mix of barbeque and terriyaki) and the must have honey mustard. Definitely worth picking up for your next party or game night, but don't forget the wipes!
(4)amy a.
Sparky's have some of the best wings I've ever had. They have a HUGE selection of flavors. And they also have burgers, salads, and more. I highly recommend the Aloha wings. I was also very happen to find out that they deliver.
(5)Melissa R.
The best wing selection anywhere. Prices are very reasonable. My fav: Flight of the Honeybee. Sides are great (try the veggies!). Burgers are fantastic! All they need is a beer license!
(5)Rick L.
Good quality chicken, good selection of great flavors, and really good prices. Definitely recommended!

This place used to be a favorite take out spot for us. It had been a while since we ordered here (at least a year). Needless to say 100% disappointed. It first took a couple times to get through on the phone to place an order. A good thing so I thought. As I was placing my order the kid taking the order asked if every single menu item we ordered was available. That was discouraging but understandable since they are closed on Tuesdays. It made me believe that they like to keep their product fresh. When I was finished placing my order the kid told me it was be ready as soon as they can have it ready.....(what is that). Rather than having it delivered my BF went to go pick it up. I figured 15 minutes for wings is an ok amount of time. Well, apparently it wasn't, he should have gone sooner. When we got the wings back to the house they were soggy and looked like they were hardly dressed with anything. We got a 10 piece firecracker.....there was no fire to this and no cracker. It was a 3 pepper wing and I have had this in the past always a favorite of mine. I can tolerate hot but these had ZERO heat. Next we ordered a 10 piece it takes two to mango. these were by far disgusting and I hardly ever use that work to describe food. Being a foodie and a chef. There was NO flavor and no heat this was also a 3 pepper wing. The wing weren't even salted. Horrible. We also ordered a 5 piece double trouble and there was some heat not like they used to be. The heat from the double trouble is what the heat the fire cracker used to be. We also go the M-80's. Now they packed a punch, My boyfriend loved them but of course me being me I always look for flavor profiles and the habanero pepper flavor didn't mesh well with the cream cheese and chorizo. A macaroni salad is served with every box of wings you get. I never liked their mac salad but I figured I should give it a shot one more time and to my disbelief it got worse! How is that possible? no seasoning no flavor and to boot they no longer but it in a to go ramekin. it is put in the box with the wings to heat up.....yum warn mayo! I am not happy with Sparky's but I am willing to give them another chance some where down the road. It will be a while and it won't be on a Monday before they close for one day. I am kind of fearful this place has received too much media attention and has gotten too busy to keep up with quality. Restaurants tend to forget that quality over quantity go much further in a customers mind and mouth.
(2)Christine C.
Let me start by saying... YUMMY YUMMY YUMMY. I love this place. I normally get the craving around Friday. It is one of those things that once you start thinking about it... you just can't stop until you get some. My favs are the Honey Garlic Boneless... but I also like the Ginger Lime in a wrap. DAMN... they are closed on Tuesdays which is a down fall. ok..so now it is Tuesday... and I am starting to get the craving... what am I to do... guess I will wait till tomorrow. SIGH
(4)Ben W.
Really awesome wings. Tried the PB&J and the bayou dry rub. PB&J was a good surprise, really good. The Bayou dry rub was amazing
(5)M. D.
I'm addicted to Sparky's for my wing fix their so good and reasonably priced to boot! I didn't think anyone could beat my favorite place in RI where I grew up but they did :-) Definitely a hidden jewel.
(4)Kevin W.
I never thought I would find the wings I knew and loved in New York in Haverhill. These are far and away the best wings I have had in eastern MA A++.
(5)Brianna R.
friendly dudes, fresh food & laid back atmosphere! they have great wings! try the pb&j wings!
(5)Tony C.
this place is great..to have wings and beer..my favorite wings on the bone with spicy pb/jelly..black and bleu burger are juicy every time..brownies are a bonus...

In my quest for great wings, and after reading all of the reviews about Sparkeys, I decided to drive down to Haverhill on a very rainy and blustery day because we have only a few places locally that serve just "good" wings. Sparkey's is a dive of a place but very clean with a very coutesous and pleasant staff. The owner is outgoing and, when up front at the window, makes sure that he welcomes and thanks everyone for coming in. You see this less frequently now in the restaurant business. It's a long wait though. 25 minutes to receive my order (I ate in) is a little much. Longest I have experienced but think it's because they need another person at the window. There's an extremely high amount of telephone traffic calling in orders to go. Ordered the next hottest wing sauce after a young lady offered me a sample of the "ghost" sauce. WOW. Not sure it had any taste at all like other extreme sauces and glad I stuck to the "trouble" sauce. I'm a true hot sauce fanatic but had I ordered it on my wings I probably would have had to ask for directions to the local hospital. The wings, although very good, were not as plump as I had heard and read about.. Was it worth the amount they charge and the 35 minute drive, no. I'm sure that if I lived more local to Haverhill I would make a return visit though.
(3)Josh S.
Great wings one of Haverhill's hidden gems it's a hole in the wall but damn if it ain't good...Too bad they didn't have a more accessible location they would have gotten 5 stars love the wings and the burgers and the creativity in their dishes ..
(4)Busy L.
Let me preface by saying I have a relatively high benchmark of Anchor Bar of Buffalo to compare wings to. Still trying to find decent buffalo wings in MA. Went with wife and son for the dinner for 4 special. Had wings (medium), boneless wings (teridactyl), fries and salad. Wings was a bit overcooked and not juicy. Sauce was very pedestrian Frank's Red Hot orange stuff and no real glisten which tells me they were not very liberal with the butter/margarine.
(3)chad m.
AMAZING !!!!! Some of the best wings in New England !! A true hidden Jewel in the city of Haverhill...(Maybe the only !) Flight of the bumblebee is by far my favorite, followed by the regular buff wings.... If your anywhere around town stop in and give them a try.... P.S They are closed on Tuesdays, and an order can take around 20 min. so plan accordingly
(5)kraig h.
I was up in Haverhill visiting a friend, and as a cafe owner myself, he said "you have to come and try this place for wings".. So off we went to Sparky's. The BEST damn wings I think I've ever had. What a cute place. And it was packed! Located in the revitilized downtown area I think he has a great and hopefully profitable place. The Aloha Wings and the Dragon's Breath wings were out of this world. Kind and VERY friendly take out service as well! CHEERS!
(4)Mark T.
Woke up tonight craving wings! Was at my Girfriend's house last week and she brought home wings from Wings Over Worcester and they were SO good. Anyhow, was looking for something up here on the north shore and there was Sparky's. Went out tonight and bought a selection of boneless and bone in wings, fries (cajun and plain), and pasta salad. The wings are simply to die for, we tried three flavors; Terodactyl, Flight of The Bumble Bee, and Tongue Thai'd Two Pepper wings. My favorite was the Terodactyl and my Girlfriend really liked Flight of the bumble bee. We both were lukewarm on the Thai wings, we didn't hate them but they wouldn't be a first choice when placing an order. The fries were okay, but could have been more crisp and the pasta salad needed some seasoning in order to provide some flavor. The fifth star could be earned by improving the fries and the pasta salad. The wings are perfect. This place is worth the visit, and its nice to finally have a wing place in this area.
(4)Jordan M.
Favorite place! I would recommend to any "new comers" these sauces: Sweet Caroline, Voodo (with a side of hot rod buffalo sauce to dip it in), and Firecracker. If you're just a buffalo fan, start with Hot Rod Buffalo - it's not hot enough to make you drink after every bite, but it's not too mild to be boring. Love this place!
(5)Luke D.
A little better than average chicken wings. Definetely overpriced. Shouldn't be $19 and change for 15 wings and a drink. I had teryaki and hickory bbq, tasted good, but not amazed or blown away like some ppl say. If youve ever had Wings Over....(insert town name, Ex. Wings over Worcester) you would know that these are NOT the best wings in MA. Doesnt seem like there are many other options around though. I will keep looking before i settle on this being my usual wing spot, especially cuz of $. Service was fine, no complaints there, i ate in. Overall: Good/average wings, but pricey and real tough to find parking
(3)Stephanie S.
This SHOULD be a four star review but I just can't go there because of the guy who answered the phone. I'm really big on customer service and this guy was just rude. As a first time customer it was really disappointing. I get it if they are busy.. rushing to take an order and get off the phone.. but he was impatient for my answers repeating his questions two or three times and was interrupting me. It was am awkward call. I didn't even end up ordering all the sauces we wanted because I felt like I was inconveniencing him by calling in to order. It was a sizeable pickup so I thought the courtesy would be better than just dropping it on them during lunch hours. He didn't tell me my total, but he also hung up before I could ask. I almost cancelled the order but I had a bunch of people over and everyone wanted wings and fries. Their food could be bomb but the customer service was lacking today for this first time visitor.
(3)Suzanne W.
Since the change in ownership, they've gone downhill. Delivery is slow, driver often doesn't have change. We have waited 90 minutes and more for delivery. Sauces are skimpy. Phone service has been rude. We loved this place for a long time and it's a shame that we can't rely on the same quality and service we have come to expect. Our days of ordering Sparky's are, sadly, coming to an end.
(1)Mark T.
Where the frak is my food, man? An hour and half wait only to be told the driver is MIA, but it's ready to go. How ready? Am I paying extra money for vintage chicken? How did the chicken cross the road?... Sparky's wouldn't 'effin know.
(1)Jeff G.
HUGE selection of sauces for wings. Have other things on the menu. Seating is very limited, you order at a counter and it's basic. But the wings were great - I got the PB&J - it was thai peanut sauce and a spicy raspberry sauce. Really good. Owner was very friendly once we got to talking.
