At this sweet, little local coffee shop, I have never been so proud to be a "regular"! My boyfriend and I make sure we save twenty minutes before our UMass classes to stop here: it's THAT good. Their coffee is my favorite in the area. They have a wide variety of flavors with strong, lovely aromas: my favorites are coconut cream, a medium roast called "first light", french vanilla and a holiday special called "Christmas morning". Their breakfast sandwiches are so delicious, served by friendly and energized staff: I recommend the Noho for vegetarians: with soy sausage, mozzarella, egg, tomato and onion & chive cream cheese. YUM. It's a great place for gifts, as well. Be sure to ask for a coffee card that gives you free coffee after ten drinks or so. You can keep it there, tacked up on the wall, so you never lose it. You can find a sweet seat in the sun, or in their back room, a zen-like "living room" with places for students to set up their laptops and study. Shelburne Falls Coffee Roasters is a charming local roaster that makes me proud to live in the Pioneer Valley.

Can't say enough good things about this place!! Get either the coconut or the maple coffee. You won't be disappointed!

As Jason said, air vents still caked in black. Looks gross. Back room not illuminated. Looks ghostly and sad. As for the coffee experience, I ordered a macchiato and got what was basically a latte with slightly less milk than a latte - a cortado, basically. I really didn't want a mostly milk drink, so I went up to reorder - a straight espresso. It was on the house, and I didn't even ask for that - pity it was burned and mostly bitterness, which may explain why they make macchiatos as cortados. I've had the drip coffee at other Shelburnes, and its pretty good. Not great, but pretty good. It's 2015 though and standards have raised. Starbucks just moved in across from you stealing your location exclusivity, and places like Tart and Rao's have a much better cup. Don't commit slow suicide by being merely better than Dunkin Donuts or The Donut Man!

I wanted to like this place. I used to go to it years ago for the Christmas Blend coffee before I started drinking serious non-flavored roasts and single-origin coffees. But years later, I figured I'd try it again. The customer service was nice, if a little harried with the weekday morning rush. It took almost 15 minutes to get egg and cheese on an english muffin. The sandwich was tasty especially with melter cheese. What I was really excited for was the coffee, but when I walked over to the coffee and went to the dark roast, I knew I was in trouble. The dark roast looked like brown water, and all the other coffees looked the same or lighter. So even though this place is named after their coffee, their coffee is weak as could be. If you're into that, which many folks are, then you're golden. But if you're looking for something distinctly better than the coffee at DD, I'd look elsewhere. In addition, there seems to be no explanation of the origin of their coffees on their website. While they have a few organic coffees, only 2 are fair-trade certified. The rest of their coffees are not organic nor are they fair trade. Considering that this place is in the Valley, it's disappointing how corporate responsibility for how the coffee is purchased doesn't seem to be a priority for them. Also their website is pretty poorly done.

Came on here specifically to say that playing Christmas music in a coffee shop actually makes no sense at all. I work in a retail store and as much as I hate to say this, it *kind* of makes sense to play Christmas music around the holidays. It puts the idea in the customer's mind (as if they didn't already know....) that it's holiday season and they should buy presents. But a coffee shop? I'm going to spend the same amount of money no matter what music you play. For those of us who are already tortured by bad music at our workplaces, this should be a respite from that. Employers like to say that "the music is for the customers." Well, I'm a customer and I'd appreciate it if you let your *lovely* (great customer service here!) employees play something else. Focused this review on the one and only issue I had, since the service, atmosphere and products are top notch! I love the little reading nook and they have the best breakfast sandwiches of any of the coffee shops around here.

My new favorite coffee place! The atmosphere - The shop is quaint, cozy, and always smells of freshly brewed coffee. It's always clean, but it gives off a nice rustic feel. I could easily sit in here for hours. The staff - I have never had bad service here. The employees are quick to take your order, and happy to answer any and many questions. I like that they are all so knowledgeable of their product, and they seem to enjoy what they do. The coffee/food - Their coffee is ALWAYS piping hot and fresh. I enjoy that they always have out an assortment of flavors, so I can switch it up depending on my mood. I'm a slave to the Organic Mexican Blend. It has such a smooth finish to it, and it flavor is incredible. I've recently started buying it to brew at home, and my roommate loves it just as much as I do. Their treats are fresh and tasty, and their breakfast sandwiches are some of the best I've ever had. I'm in love.

I work down the street so I've been passing this place every day for a while now. There's always a ton of cars and I don't like getting out of my car in the morning rush. I made the smart decision to go in the afternoon when it was nearly empty. Straightforward menu, bagels looked ehhh but I'm a bagel snob. I think $2.70 for a bagel and cream cheese is ridiculous but there's some who think otherwise. The coffee prices are beyond reasonable though. I got a large iced hazelnut for just $2.56! Across the street at DD it's definitely more like $3.25-50. My first sip I knew I'd made a smart choice. The hazelnut is very prevalent and I'm glad. It's not a wimpy coffee either thankfully. It's self serve sugar and milk station which doesn't matter to me I take it black. But overall good place and I'll happily go back!

Ok coffee, decent room to sit and read etc. The ceiling, airvents, and posters hanging above food are frighteningly covered with dirt dust and cooking grease! Doesn't anyone who works at this establishment ever look up. Gross and quite alarming.

Very cute place - both the library themed seating area and the staff. My BLT on a bagel was delicious with the bagel warmed but not difficult to bite through and the bacon the perfect point between crispy and flexible. Perfect for the sandwich. I walked in on a whim that they may have sandwiches and I'm very pleasantly surprised - great accidental lunch. Especially when I was staring down the very likely possibility of fast food!

My boyfriend considers himself a bit of a coffee snob so he really likes that Shelburne Falls has a lot of variety and does their own roasting. We go here all the time and it's always a good experience--specifically at this location I'd say there are really nice employees, the drinks are great, and the food is good. Free Wi-Fi is also a plus since you can sit and do work when they aren't crazy busy. The only warning I'd give is that it can get a bit pricey, especially when you begin to look at add-ons, both for the food and drinks (for example, I love iced drinks but the iced chai is an entire dollar more and it's also extra for soy milk.) Just pay attention and you can keep it down. I highly highly recommend trying the cream cheese flavors they make themselves. I love the olive but I am truly addicted to the jalapeno and sundried tomato. So so good.

The staff are really friendly and accommodating (I've never met the owner, who according to yelp, is a dick) Coffee is very good, I just drink black coffee though, no fancy drinks for me. Between Amherst and the highway, I've not found anything comparable. Local business with vegetarian breakfast sandwiches (veggie sausage!!) with good coffee and fast service. I think this place deserves more than two stars. Esp with dunkin literally right across the street.

I have bought their coffee at Food CIty in Turners Falls, where it is priced at $12-something a pound. Pricey, yes. But quite delicious. So I thought I'd buy some directly from the company. Yesterday I stopped into their Hadley store and filled a bag of Toasted Coconut Decaf beans a bit over half full. The young woman behind the counter ground it for me and then told me it would be $11. Surprised, I asked her how much the beans were, since I hadn't seen a price posted by the coffee itself. $16.00 a pound she told me. When I expressed surprise, well, really, dismay, she got huffy and explained that the flavoring they used was very expensive. Four dollars a pound more than what they charge for the same coffee at the super market. I don't think so. By then, of course, it was too late to pass on the purchase since she had ground it. I made my first cup this morning only to discover that though this was a flavored coffee--and one I had enjoyed in the past when purchased from Food City--the beans had been roasted dark, nearly French roast, and the burnt flavor drowned out the coconut flavor. I'll stick with Dunkin Donuts the next time I want a coconut flavored decaf. UPDATE: I was contacted by someone from Shelburne Falls Coffee Roasters who read this ad. They offered me a refund for the coffe I'd bought, which arrived today. I greatly appreciated that response.

For some reason every time I get food at THIS shelburne falls it tastes gross - I don't know what they cook the egg sandwiches in, but they are MUCH better at the Northampton location. The coffee here is good - my favorite is breakfast blend but they generally don't have that in the mornings, ironically.

Located across from a main shopping plaza, this place is kind difficult to get to (busy streets, only going one direction), but visible from the road. The inside atmosphere is nice and the people are pleasant. They have a couple great coffee beans for sale, "SUGAR MAPLE" is absolutely wonderful! The aroma has subtle notes of maple, but nothing over-powering. Their "coconut" coffee is also great. If you buy a cup of coffee in the store, don't get the "rainbow blend". I think its a mix of leftovers, but overall kind of acidic, tangy, blah! Their is reading/study room inside as well, but it's very dark. I'm not sure how/why anyone would want to sit there for long, but it's a great place to buy coffee beans!

I love this place. It's a wonderful local cafe and bakery. The best breakfast sandwiches around, delicious baked goods, nice sandwiches for lunch, and great coffee. The best alternative to national chains like Panera and Dunkin Donuts. Locally based for years and great product and friendly staff. Plus wifi and tables to work at. Love it.

I was in town and stopped by this morning. Coffee was delish! I ordered a buckland breakfast sandwich on a croissant, and it was to die for. The friend I was with also enjoyed her breakfast and coffee. The reason I'm not giving 5 stars is that the bathroom was not as clean as it could have been. However, if I'm ever in the area again, I will definitely stop by.
