We stopped here because it was empty and looked sketchy from driving on rt 9, bright ass yellow sign that you can't miss. I am glad we came, it was gosh darn good! We got the non vegetarian dinner for two, and let me say its a LOT of food! Ok well wait..so it looks like an old diner, very small and cozy, and kinda cold and the view is awesome, the rt 9 cars are literally in your face, and if they crash into you then you might die, but really lets talk food, its actually kind of fun to watch. Oh and empty which was actually nice. Our server was super nice and helpful too. They have a pretty good menu, and with explanations as to what you are ordering so its not a surprise. As I said we got the non veg din din for 2. It starts you off with soup, you can choose any kind you want, then you get 2 samosa, 2 tandoori chicken, 2 chicken kabob pieces, 2 lamb kabob and 2 seekh kabob, rice, naan and any 2 entrees (!! awesome!!) Oh and dessert! All of them tasted really good and I am a big fan of their seekh. We got chicken vindaloo and keema matar (which was reeeallly good!) The food was plentiful, it could easily feed a 3rd person. I eat a lot...I mean..a lot...and even I couldn't finish all the deliciousness. I told our hoestess that this was like having a buffet at the table. I love it and will come back next time I am in the area.

Based on the Yelp reviews, I was ready for a interior decorating horror show. Inside, I was met with a clean, quaint little dining room. What gives? This place is walking distance to the college, so hopefully word will spread with the students and they'll stay open. Though, I have my doubts. The food was tasty and spiced right, but both dishes were too salty. Also, I wouldn't say that the prices were great, but I would still return based on the tasty aloo gobi and saag palook. My vote for area of improvement would be the web site, which doesn't list the menu and spells Framingham incorrectly. :)

Ok... It looks horrible from the outside, but it is VERY clean inside. It looks like it was an old diner. The food was excellent. I am new to Indian food, but I had the sampler platter that they offer and it was fantastic. The Chicken Tikki Marsala was fantastic and the Naan was great too. I also really enjoyed the Vegetable Somasa. I will definitely be returning! If you let the outside decor sway you, you are missing out on one of the best restaurants in metrowest. Also, I like the Coconut ice cream, but I wish they gave more than just one small scoop.

I went here for lunch today and found it fairly good for the meager appearances. It's obviously not a fancy establishment. We got the lunch buffet and there was a decent selection: chicken masala, curry lamb, something that had paneer and chickpeas, vegetable samosas, and so on. Nothing amazing, but I thought it was a nice touch that the waiter asks you what type of naan you'd like, and then brings you some freshly baked to the table. We got garlic naan and it was quite nice, with plenty of cilantro on top. The mango lassi was also quite good, with a slice of fresh mango on the side of the cup. Still not the best Indian I've ever had (I'm still missing the Curry Leaf that used to be over across from the Natick Mall a couple years ago, and which was replaced by the mediocre Minerva), but certainly worth a try if you're craving Indian!

Nom nom nom. My boyfriend and I had the vegetarian dinner for two and there was so much food we ended up eating the rest as lunch the next day. The lentil soup was really filling and thick, the veg dishes were also delicious but the shining star of the meal was the mango lassi. This drink came garnished with an enormous fresh slice of mango and the drink itself tasted like heaven. The mango lassi here is by far the best I've ever had. A MUST have. I really like the presentation as well. Our dishes were served in bowls over candles so they would stay nice and hot for us. The servers were very nice and attentive. The decor needs a lot of help, it reminds me of mediocre breakfast diners in the area. Bad taste aside the taste of the food is all that matters so who cares? I would come here again for sure!

Had amazing Indian food while on vacation, so decided to go back for more near my home..... Bad idea, the worst food ever! Was a buffet style restaurant, the food was cold, lacked flavor and the tandoori chicken was overly dry. The only amazing thing I had while I was there was the mango Mimosa, yummy! They really need to take the fine out of the fine Indian cuisine, because it was definitely not that. So if your craving Indian food I would strongly suggest you go else where.

We had the vegetarian for two. It was very good. Though it is a small place, the food is inviting. There is just one waitress when we went and she was too much in a hurry. Food covers up everything. I recommend for all those food lovers.

Welcome Fine Indian Cuisine isn't much to look at from the outside and the inside isn't much better. What it lacked in exterior and interior ambiance it more than made up for with delicious food. We started our meals with a Taj Mahal 22oz beer and a Sweet Lassi to drink. For appetizers we had some Vegetable Pakora and Aloo Papri. Both were equally tasty. For the entrée we shared a Chicken Murg Tikka Masala, Beef Curry and some fantastic Garlic Naan. Sadly we didn't save any room for the Kheer. We will definitely be going back and all that for less than $50. I rate it 4.5 Stars.

We drove by so many times and laughed about the possibility of going there due to the exterior presentation. But who were we kidding? Indian food near our new home, of course we had to try and we've been back several times since. Food is usually very good. Nice vegeterian or non-vegetarian meals for 1 or 2. Service is never horrible but sometimes could be better. However, this is now a regular spot for us

This is my FAVORITE Indian restaurant. I have been there many times and have enjoyed each meal. Many Indian restaurants that I have been to do not bring out free appetizers, but Welcome does. Tonight they gave us free vegetable samosas in addition to the usual pappadams. This evening my Mom and I decided to be adventurous and each try something new. My Mom ordered their Gosht Mushroom and I tried the Keema Mutter. Unlike other restaurants, I have never found their lamb to be fatty or tough. Both meals were fantastic! We were both very happy and full by the time we left. Compared to other restaurants, I have always found Welcome's prices to be extremely reasonable. Granted we didn't order drinks, but our two meals and an order of garlic naan (I love their garlic naan!) came to $30.50 including tax. If you like Indian food, visit Welcome India!

After all the good reviews here and a personal endorsement from a coworker in Natick, BFF and I decided to give Welcome India a shot. The place is nothing to look at, inside or out. Giant yellow sign, inches from Rt 9, and a strange, pink interior. It was also really cold! The place was nearly empty, but it was relatively late on a Thursday evening, so it wasn't really a commentary on the food! Starting with the usual pappadams, sauce and relish, which were all tasty though the onion relish was HOT. I had tandoori chicken which was excellent, and BFF had paleek paneer with she said was good as well. The garlic naan was pretty standard. Service was efficient and friendly (aside from a little slow on the drink refills, but I acknowledge I'm a Diet Coke addict/camel hybrid when it comes to drinks), though it better be when you're the only people in the place! Overall, I think I'd rather do takeout than eat at the restaurant again, but definitely worth checking out. I'll probably stick to Gold Star off of Rt 30 for my eat-in experiences, though.

Great food, great service and the fact that it's a popular spot for Indians is a sure sign that you're in for authentic cuisine!

Not much to look at from the outside, but the food was really good. We went for dinner on a Saturday night. We split some Paneer Pakoras for an appetizer and they were pretty good. I had the Shahi Paneer Korma which was fantastic. Dining area was quite clean and the wait staff were friendly and attentive. Not a huge wine list, but got a decent shiraz by the glass. Definitely not high-end dining, but good food at reasonable prices.

We go here as often as possible. My partner is vegetarian and this place has a wonderful vegetarian menu. I love the saag paneer, Navroltan (sp?) Korma and the pashbury naan. The restaurant was closed once so we went to another one close by and that place was bland. Welcome India clearly uses fresh spices. The owners are also nice.

I ordered the mint tikki masala....pretty sure I had a religious experience. It's a special, so I'm not sure which days in which they serve it. Find it. Love it. Forget Boston for Indian food. Welcome is the best!

Talk about not judging a book by its cover. I have passed this place a million times on route 9 and always thought it looked really creepy and uninviting, so we stayed away from it. For a place to not be good, and open this long, they must have been doing something right ?? So the next time we were hungry, and for the fact that nothing was open late on Sunday, my roommate and I went into the shady little diner. We were the only patrons there! We were (not suprisingly) immediately seated, wherever we wanted. It looked like they were finally remodeling and stepping into the 21st century, so their glass front was covered with tarp and it was a little chilly, plus the sound of passing cars was pretty loud. This shouldn't be a problem once it is fixed and the music should muffle the sounds from outside...right?? NOT, this is the only Indian restaurant that doesn't play any melodious Bollywood tunes in the background and they surprisingly don't have any TV's. But the place itself had a cozy feel to it with their deep red furniture, and Indian paintings. We were started with the usual appetizer of pappad, served with Tamrind sauce and onion relish. We were hungry and ate most of it . We also ordered the Kheema, Lamb curry and Dal Makhani. All of the items were delicious, served over candle lamps( that barely kept them warm, but very decorative) through our dinner. The portions were good and we had enough for left overs. The only complain that I have, other than the need for an update of their interior and exterior decor , is that they were slightly overpriced. Bollywood Grill down the road in natick offers the same food, if not better, for the same price and a MUCH better atmosphere to dine in. They get 1 star for the decor, 3 stars for the food, and none for their pricing. I'd rather go to Bollywood Grill, than constantly worry about when some careless driver may skid off route 9 and end up inside the restaurant.

I have driven by Welcome Indian Cuisine every day for the last two years on my way to work but never thought much of the establishment often wondering how it remained opened. The outside does little to inspire the passerby to stop in. But after reading some Yelp reviews I decided not to judge the proverbial book by its cover and finally went in. The restaurant was not very busy so we got all the attention of the very helpful and knowledgeable staff. There were a number of specials as well as an extensive menu of traditional Indian Food. The prices were reasonable. We ordered a special, Rice, Naan, Vegetarian plate appetizer, and an Indian crepe. All the food came out quickly and was very tasty. Even the Tikka Masala sauce that accompanied the rice had a nice bit to it. Framingham is not the epicenter for international cuisine, but Welcome is a welcome addition to my list of regular restaurants. And yes, the pun in the last sentence was intended. Don't judge the restaurant by the cover, just go in and enjoy the food. You'll be glad you did. Final point, I ordered a salty Lassi which was absolutely dreadful. The waitress offered to remake it but the thought of drinking any more of it was unbearable so I highly suggest staying away from that drink unless a mouthful of saltwater is something you find delectable.

My husband likes eating at this place. Their buffet is okay. I suspect the daal and other gravies have chicken stock in them. One of those sneaky Indian restaurants that do not care about vegan, gluten etc food concerns!

A while back, I remember George Carlin going on a rant about where were the blue food? Sure, there are blueberries and eggplants, but those aren't really blue. They are more purple than blue. Carlin went on about the total absence of blue food. Today, I visited Welcome Indian Cuisine. Yes, that's the name of the place. When you walk in, you are greeted with "Welcome! Welcome Indian Cuisine." You certainly feel welcomed after that. This place should be familiar to anyone who's driven up and down Rt. 9 through Framingham. It's basically a double-wide with a big yellow awning that says "Welcome To India." It took me several years to realize that this was actually a restaurant and than several more years to muster the courage to walk in to the place. As with all respectable Indian restaurants, between the hours of 12 to 3pm, they offer a buffet option. The buffet is moderately priced at $9.60 with tax. As you walk in, there is a row of booths along the left side, a few tables in the middle and few more on the opposite side. The buffet does not offer a huge selection but it seemed to have all the prerequisites. They also offer a freshly baked, or at least, freshly reheated naan as a starter, which is included in the buffet price. I chose the garlic naan. I've had better naan but it beats what Minerva serves down the road, which is a pile of naan under a heat lamp. I love Indian food but I still haven't mastered memorizing all the names. I categorize the dishes by their appearance, texture and color. My favorite is of course the brightly colored orange dish with cubes of chicken, aka, Chicken Tikka Marsala. This is one dish I know by name. I just read that this dish is the most popular and beloved dish among the Brits. There is also the dark greenish, brownish mush with cubes of white stuff, the fried round patties of something that taste like knish. Then, there are the orangey, yellowy and sometimes, brownish dish with various combinations of peas, cauliflower, potatoes and carrots. Welcome Indian Cuisine offered most of the basics but I noticed an absence of one particular hue. All the food laid out in the buffet line were either yellow, brown or orange. Where were the green food? Their Chicken Tikka Marsala was light orange, albeit pretty but not the bright neon orange I'm used to. Ok, never mind the colors - how did it taste? Overall, the food was on the mild side. I like my Indian food with a kick. WIC did not deliver on this end, but still flavorful. To some, this might be the right amount of heat, but I was wishing for more of a punch from some of the dishes. I give this humble establishment 4 star. It should be more like 3.5 but since Yelp doesn't do decimals, I am willing to round up. Welcome Indian Cuisine certainly has its share of competition all within couple of mile radius. Despite looking like a construction site manager's office, they still served up solid, flavorful Indian food at a respectable price.

What a fantastic little gem! I've pretty much had it all here and have never been disappointed. I was most impressed with their tandoori options. Never tried the buffet, probably never will. Their menu it's just far too good.

We love this place, and come here practically every week! Beware, it may be easy to pass by and ignore, but take the chance and go on in. You will not be disappointed with your meal. First, the staff is very friendly. Second, everything on the menu is a hit. Our go-to dishes are Saag Paneer (spinach with cheese cubes) and Chicken Tikka Masala (chicken in a glorious orange sauce.) They have various naan flavors - hot and fresh. The rice is always light and fluffy. I love their service too - they have little serving pots served over little flames to keep everything hot while you're chowing. :) They also begin dinner with a spicy cracker and various dipping sauces. I've been to many Indian places, and this ranks very highly on the experience list. The ambience is very simple, but the dining experience is consistently great. We've never had a bad experience here. A word on the weekend buffets: GO! The buffet is wonderful. It's such a great weekend treat. The place is group-friendly too. Go now! :)

I need everyone to come here and support this place. It's freaking awesome. Read my previous review. It's basically the same. One note - I had to order for 3 people. I ordered the dinner for 2, and an extra entree. The entrees that come with the dinner for 2 are half the size of an entree you'd order by itself - so if you have a fav dish, order that by itself, then the other entrees as part of the dinner for 2. The dinner for 2 (non vegetarian) is quite a beast deal - samosas, tandoori chicken, desserts, tea (if you eat in), 2 entrees, naan, rice...awesome!

I've been here a few times in the past year, and it's the best Indian I've had in the area. The spiciness has toned down since my first time visiting but regardless, the food is delicious. The wait staff is kind, too. It is a very quiet location. Usually there's only one other group eating here if any at all. So yeah, if you're craving Indian and you're in the area, this is the place.

  • Lilia G.

Mmmm. I haven't have Indian food since I was in India several years ago and this place brought back lots of fond memories. We ordered takeout so I didn't actually eat at the restaurant. But what my husband brought home was delicious! Vindaloo, Murg curry and Tandoori chicken... All good stuff. My only advice: beware of the spice! I ordered medium when I should have ordered mild.. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars was the lady wasn't very helpful when I placed the order over the phone.

  • Sarah D.

Great food, but a sub-par atmosphere. The place itself just looks kind of crappy, both inside and out. The dining area is like a shoebox, and not much bigger. We happened to hit it on a night with screaming kids at a table near us, but no matter where you're sitting, it would have been ear-shattering. I'm still giving it 4 stars because of the food, which is--after all--the most important thing. They give you a lot of papadum as an appetizer, which is great. The soup was delicious, and I had chicken tikka tandoori. The dosa, which is sort of an Indian burrito, was pretty impressive, and the service was quick and well-done.

I must admit that the big yellow "WELCOME" sign is what first attracted me to this funny-looking place on route 9. It may look silly, but it's a worth a stop. I have been here a couple of times and have been pleased with both the food and service. The previous reviewer described the buffet as "solid", and I think that is a good general description of Welcome. It's probably not the best Indian food around, but it is tasty and the menu has many options. I found the service to be excellent on both of my trips to Welcome. The servers are very polite and seem to be there when you need them. As I said, the food is good, but I think the service is what makes me want to go back. Oh, and that great Indian music that they play!

Don't be fooled by sketchy exterior. Food delicious. Malai kofta and saag paneer great. Medium is spicier than most. Dosas small, manageable size. Lovely presentation. Sweet naan is to die for!

My friends and I went here after the Boston Marathon. It doesn't look like much on the outside or inside, but people from India eat here, and it's clear why. This is the real deal. The food is excellent, even the buffet, and the staff is very friendly. I'll definitely be going back.

  • KMarie G.

Eh, not impressed. Not disappointed. Just eh. Sketchy exterior facade. For a restaurant that opened only 3 years ago, you would think it's been in business for centuries based on their shabby exterior. Staff is friendly, attentive, nice. Food. Eh. Buffet - eh. There's not much of a selection, and I found their food to be on the blander side of spiciness. Price - very affordable.

  • Andy G.

I must say I was pleasantly surprised by Welcome India. The facade is not the most appealing, but the inside is quaint and clean with soft Indian music playing. I'm a big fan of Indian food, but don't eat it often enough to not be intimidated by the menu every time I go. Hence my tendency to hit the ubiquitous Indian buffets. However, Welcome India's menu had nice brief descriptions of most dishes, which was nice. We started the meal with some Indian brews(Taj Mahal and King Fisher) which were cold, tasty and come in 22oz bottles. Next time I'd order 1 at a time. And enjoyed the wafer thin bread, chutney(good spicy kick) and sweet purple something sauce? We wound up ordering the Non-Vegetarian meal for two($35) and were very happy we did. You get to choose any two entrees from the seafood, chicken, lamb or beef sections of the menu and they ask how spicy you'd like them cooked. The wife choose a Beef Bahtah and on the advise of the sever choose the Chicken Tikki Marsala. First came two tasty samosas served with minty cream sauce, then came a nice lentil soup. Then look out! The main courses arrived. Including a large sizzling fajita style pan of mixed grill(2 kinds of chicken, lamb, beef on a bed of onions)a basket of excellent nan, wonderful jasmine rice and the two ordered entrees. Really a surprising amount of food. We hungrily dove in and stared working our way through it. The standouts for us were the chicken tikki marsala, which we sopped up every bit of the awesome sauce with the nan. The Tandoori chicken in the mixed grill, which was moist and tender and the perfectly cooked aromatic jasmine rice. The Beef Buhtah was just ok for us. Sauce was spicy but the beef was on the tough side. Just not on the same level as the CTM. After you've stuffed your self silly you get a choice desserts. I picked a rice pudding that was decent and the wife choose vanilla ice cream. Both were fine, but really we were to stuffed with good food to care at that point. Overall it was a really great meal and an excellent value. We would happily return. I even grabbed a To-Go menu, as we live close by. I'm definitely getting that Chicken Tikki Marsala again!

Do not judge this place by the outside of the building!!! Yes, the place near Midas on the eastbound side of Rt. 9 with the big yellow awning that reads "WELCOME INDIAN FOOD"! It looks a bit sketchy, but the inside is nice and cozy and food is excellent! I can't comment of the service because we have only ever ordered take-out from here, but the place is not very big and everyone there seems to be very well tended to. We always order the Non-Vegetarian Dinner for Two. This is an extraordinary amount of food for two people! My kids enjoy Indian food and there is plenty for all four of us. However, we do usually get an additional order of naan bread. We get the Gosht (lamb) korma or Murg (chicken) korma. We love the rich flavor of the sauce. The best part is using the naan to sop up the extra sauce! The Kheer (rice pudding) is much different from traditional rice pudding. It's soupier and has a exotic flavor. If you dine there, they do have a selection of Indian lager beers to choose from. The pricing is very reasonable considering the very generous portions.

This is an update. I have gone twice since my original visit and each time my experience was worse than the last one. On our second visit, the male waiter attempted to rush my mom and I through our meal. I noticed that the portions were not as generous as they had been the first time. We ordered gulab jamin for the dessert and each of us only got one - we were supposed to get two. Both of us were dissappointed so we waited a while before going back. We went back this past weekend and had a miserable experience. We ordered the non-vegetarian meal for two and as entrees shrimp & spinach and a swordfish curry. Basically what we got was sauce. There were six little pieces of swordfish that we shared between us and four pieces of shrimp in the spinach dish. We intended to take home half for dinner but as I said there wasn't much in the dish. The asian waitress slopped the two dishes in a styrofoam container with the leftover pieces of meat - a disgusting mess. I had asked for condiments but we got none. I also had asked for an extra piece of naan and got charged $3.25 for that. The food was cold and there was a horrible draft where we were seated. Miserable experience. Don't waste your money. Rasoi is by far the best indian restaurant in Framingham. Welcome is not "welcoming" and it deserves to disappear. The sooner the better me thinks.

I went with two other people and we got the vegetarian meal for two plus another main dish. It was really good and we had SO much food. The waitress even threw in an extra samosa and cup of soup for free. The mango lassi was great too. While it's not the most incredible Indian food I've ever had, it was delicious. I'd definitely eat here again.

We called ahead and picked up our order. When we got home 15 minutes later the food was still very hot which is fantastic (I don;t like reheating freshly-made food because it cools down too quickly). I disagree with the very low reviews. I think the samosas were a little bland. The rice tasted great. Chicken tikka masala and chicken korma were both delicious (we order our food mild). The flavor was great, and the chicken was tender and cooked perfectly, but just a little bit too salty. The naan was perfect. I think this is a nice place and we will come back.

Really good food. Really lousy service for delivery orders. My fiancé and I loved the food when we placed out first order. The next time we ordered delivery online we waited about 40 minutes. We were expecting our order any minute when we received a call stating our order had been cancelled due to lack of drivers. I understand that sometimes these things happen but we were stuck in for the night and had we been notified as soon as we placed our order we wouldn't have waited nearly as long to try somewhere else. If you can take the risk of going without dinner the food is worth a shot but if you're expecting company or on a tight timetable the service is too unreliable.

All the food arrived cold, tasteless, lamb tandoori was extremely dry, very hard to bite into, deep fried chicken so mushy, and too soft to stomach, no sauces came with that dry meat so I could dip it in to soften it or to flavor it. Meat samosa was not crispy at all, so mushy, plus the meat filling had too much fatty, hard to chew on pieces in it. The chicken tikka masala sauce did not even taste like the original recipe that I get from all other Indian restaurant, and it tasted not so good at all. I am extremely disappointed, especially considering the amount of money I paid for one person dinner.

Note: this review is only for takeout. I love this place! I call and get takeout here all the time. Highly recommend the chicken makhini, tika masala, lamb, mango lassi... Ok, pretty much everything! Out of the 3 Indian places I know in Framingham, this one is the best. One star knocked because they're a little bit more expensive than the other 2, and don't do delivery.

Excellent lunch buffet. Just what I wanted; starting with pappardam/papadum or other choice of bread, great food, and when I asked for tea I got tea, not hot water and a bag. I like that much better. The people were very nice. So was the food. I wish I didn't live 25-30 miles away, but I'll go back every chance I get. Very, very nice.

ok -- lets call it what it is -- dive ambiance with good food at a good value. The restaurant interior should be nominated for one of those makeover shows... but... the Chicken Tikka Masala is fabulous! Everything is very fresh and yummy. And a relative bargain. Beware -- the onion stuff they put on the table is deceptively hot.

Normally here for their lunch buffet and its soooo good. The pakoras and samosas are awesome. The lady that typically works there is so nice! Definitely one of my favs for Indian food.

I will start out by saying that I am in no way, shape or form an expert in Indian Cuisine, but I do know good food when I have it, and this place has GOOD food! My brother and his wife took my girlfriend and I here this past Sunday for a little quality family time. My sister-in-law has some dietary restrictions so we opted for them to pick a place. My brother had nothing but good things to say about Welcome India so we decided to meet there... The place is my no means fancy... it's actually pretty typical for Rt.9 (or Mecca as some call it) Inside is furnished with a nice mixture of tables and booths and is kind of cozy. We were greeted by a happy go lucky server who let us choose our own booth. As soon as we sat down, we were met with a basket of flat bread/cracker things w/ a couple dipping sauces... both were good. Ordering was easier here for me then most Indian places I've been too. My girlfriend and I decided on the Vegetarian Dinner for Two, which came with a delicious soup that reminded me split pea, samosas ( one each, but they threw in two extras for my bro and his wife), rice, two vegitarian dishes of our choice, Naan and desert. We went w/ the Baingan Bhartha and the Saag Paneer (medium hot) and decided to get an order of the Chicken Tikki Masala so we could have left overs. There was a ton of food, and all of it was great. Both the eggplant and the chicken dishes might have been the best versions I've had... My brother stuck w/ his usual and got some sort of lamb dish, which he said was great as usual. His wife also ordered the Baingan Bhartha without butter (I guess they used oil instead) She liked hers so much, she actually put in for a second to-go order for lunch the next day! Even though we were all really full, our choice of two deserts came with our meals we twisted our arms and ordered. One of us got Mango Ice Cream and the other guy some sort of frozen Indian custard... again both were great. I brought in some leftovers to work today and I'm not sure it's possible, but they might be better then yesterday! I'm looking forward to getting home tonight and polishing the rest off!! I don't want to sound like a broken record but this place had great service and great food. If you're looking for a low key place to get some tasty Indian food at a good price, I would definitely recommend trying out Welcome India.

Food and service were great! I tried the vegetarian sampler dinner which had soup, a samosa, two entrees (small portions), rice, raita, bread, and tea and dessert. I took over half of it home. Each item was well cooked and seasoned (medium heat) perfectly for my taste. I chose the masala tea and ginger ice cream for dessert and would love to go back just for that. The waiter was very friendly and while it may not look it from the outside, the interior was comfortable. I will definitely be back.

Ok. My wife has been beating me up because of my obsession with this place, ever since Dawn reviewed and gave it such a rave review. I drive by it every day and many more time over the weekend. It looks like a diner from the outside. The outside picture in Yelp is old, but if you follow the link to the website you can see an updated picture. Why you may ask am I so obsessed with it, well ever since a couple of years ago when the good chef left the Gold Start Indian Restaurant (now closed) I have been in search of good Indian food. Then to get such a rave review about a place that I could almost walk to threw me. It just never looked like it had any people in it. This to me is always a trust issue, but Dawn said it was good and I normally trust her reviews, so what is the deal. I work with several Indian people as well who live in the area and I asked them if they had tried it. No one recommended it. My wife and I stopped in last night and it was empty but once inside I had to agree that inside was nice, I need to get over what it looks like from the outside. We found out the buffet runs from 12:00-3:00 and costs $9.00. This is what I was looking for. So today (Friday) I went there for lunch. I had to try it for the buffet. I do not eat buffet except for Indian. I walked in and I did not smell the spice that I normally associate with Indian. I really miss the Chef that worked at Gold Star a couple of years back. When I walked into that restaurant my mouth would water from the smell. I knew when I walked into that place when the Chef left. Yes I write Chef with an upper case C for these people, there are Chefs and there are chefs. I tried everything on the buffet. Everything searching for something that had a little bit of heat. Nothing. What I found was flavorful, and sweet. (too sweet for me) What I was searching for was something that had zing and heat. It was not on the buffet on this day. In addition I was one of six people in the restaurant with two of the people being the wait staff. I don't know how long this place has been in business, but given the amount of people in it I always feel it will go under soon or it is a front for laundering money. Believe it or not I would go again as a novelty. The food is not bad, but it is not what I would call Indian. But then again my wife keeps asking me what that means. I guess it is like what I would call American-Chinese is not Chinese. But if you are in the mood for it, you would go back. The food is good just missing the heat for me. If you love sweet gravy dishes, and need a quiet place to talk, you will like this place. If you are looking for Indian go to Bollywood, it is pricey but better. Well I went back. I tried everything on the buffet and still sweet with no heat. I don't think I will try a third time.

Great service, the staff is super friendly and officiant. They have great options for vegetarians and are terrific about accommidating to however much spice or lack of you'd like. We have never been able to go to another Indian resteraunt without wishing we were at Welcome! It's our go to resteraunt!

The best Indian food in Framingham. The staff is always friendly and helpful and the food is absolutely delicious. I have tried most of the Indian food restaurants in Framingham and this one is by far the best. The outside is not much to look at and the place looks empty all the time, but the food is great!

I have been a regular at Welcome India for the past three or four years. It's a converted diner right off the highway, its name varies depending on what you're looking at, and it appears from the outside like a place where you might very well get salmonella -- however, I've come to see its total lack of aesthetic appeal as unpretentious and utterly charming. Staffed by the lovely owners, a couple who host and serve the food, the service is prompt but not overbearing, and once they get to know you, they often throw in freebies like extra appetizers and desserts. And the food! I've tried lots of menu items, and have never been disappointed, but I keep coming back to the shahi paneer korma, which is a sublime blend of cheese cubes in a sweet and flavorful korma sauce with almonds and raisins. The vegetarian selection is extensive and delicious, and every dish can be prepared with more or less spice. All the hot dishes are presented on individual burners, so they stay warm, and the naan is always fresh from the oven. They do not deliver, but you can pick food up to go; eating in is pleasant and quiet, with a relaxed atmosphere, attentive staff and clean bathrooms. Prices are reasonable, and great value for the quality and quantity of food - there's always some to bring home. Welcome India isn't fancy, but this is my absolute favorite restaurant. I could go on and on about it, but I'm salivating too much.

I've only been here for dinner, but their "vegetarian for two" is the best meal deal I've found anywhere. You get appetizers, naan, two veggie dishes, rice, dessert, and tea / coffee for $30. My fiancee and I can order this combo and get SIX meals out of it. We're not huge eaters, but unless you're an extreme eating champion you'll leave more than full. The service is always very attentive and friendly - no complaints at all. The food is very tasty, but I have noticed that in the 2 years I've been visiting, the spiciness of the food has been adjusted way downward. I think this is probably due to the comment cards they put out with every check. For example, the chutney they give out with papadam used to be really really hot and delicious, but is now kind of bland.

  • Susan P.

The service was fine, but the food was marginal at best. The sauces tasted flat. The place looks dumpy on the outside, and the food seems to go with this look. The bread was really greasy. I had the lunch buffet. Maybe they do better with ordering from the menu? There are better choices nearby (Bollywood, just down the road) that I would recommend instead.

We found this place using yelp after another place we tried was closed. Their food was reasonably price and tasted great. The portions were just the right size too. I'd highly recommend that you stop by this place if you're in the area.

2nd time a bunch of us went there together per my request gees, the food tasted so different all of a sudden, the tandori chicken was not fresh at all (after 1st bite, everyone agreed it was bad) pitiful --- consistency - a restaurant's friend - surely missing here :-( probably would not go again, sadly

I'm a big fan of Welcome Indian. Everything really is quality, everything tastes amazing, and everything is fairly affordable. Even the lunch buffet, something almost every Indian restaurant does, is done better at Welcome Indian with the little details, such as being asked if you want special bread other than just plain nan, the quality of the chicken tikka masala being creamy buttery instead of just tomatoy, the deliciously spicy green chutney and the awesome onion chutney, etc. etc. etc. Looks can be deceiving since it does look a little run down and at lunch can be a bit chilly to get the room to heat up in the winter, but honestly the service is amazing, especially the kind lady who acts as host, she's really the sweetest person working in the restaurant industry as far as I'm concerned. Brilliantly delicious fresh Indian cuisine. It's all the standard fare, but it's just done a notch better than the rest of the competition IMO.

I was skeptical when I walked in. Not because of the outer appearance of the restaurant but because I'm usually skeptical about Indian food. I'm okay with it but I don't really love it since the food just doesn't do it for me. Welcome Indian broke that preconception. I loved the food here. My gf and I got the vegetarian dinner for 2 for $30. It came with a nice somewhat savory but not at all salty lentil soup, a couple of vegetable samosas with a mint chutney and side veggies, a choice of two entrees, choice of two deserts, and two coffee or teas. We got Shahi Navratan Korma and Aloo Gobhi, which I have to admit I had a hard time discerning between the two. The sauces were pretty similar in a brownish red curry like tomato base. The vegetables were plentiful and everything worked together wonderfully. The entrees worked smoothly with the basmatic rice and warm soft naan bread. I stuffed myself but good and it was worth it. Unable to finish, I barely had enough room for desert but the pistachio ice cream and mango ice cream topped off a delightful meal. I would absolutely take people here and I'm looking forward to coming back again. The outer decor is not what welcomes you in, its the food and it does a good job. This is my go to place to eat in for Indian food and Indian Spice and Food is my takeout Indian joint. A fierce combo indeed.

Favorite Indian place in area, complex and interesting flavors give it a slight edge over the others. Gotta stop sitting in the booths though, not very comfy. Most Indian restaurants have male waiters, it took me a minute to figure out why it was odd to have a (very nice) waitress!

Signs? If you just drive by, you will question if you should go in there. We're glad to be inside. Everything is great. Quality of food is much better than surrounding Indian restaurants. Chicken Tandoori is cooked perfect. (not overcooked) Taste is just right without over powering. Price is reasonable. Service is excellent.

As tacky as the decor might be, I actually really liked it. I only came here for lunch with my co-workers, I probably was the only one out of my co-workers who liked it... the rest of my co-workers aren't into the trying ethnic foods that they're usually used to. The naan I must say was fluffier than I usually have it at other Indian restaurants. I don't think I enjoyed the samosa-like naan, but nonetheless it was delicious. The milk in the spicy chai tea that I ordered was probably heated too much because there was some film that got caught on my tongue, but honestly - that didn't make it gross or anything. It just meant that they heated it up to high. My co-worker ordered the ginger dessert. This was very delicious, and he thought so too. I will definitely have to order this dessert when I come by next time.

If you like Indian food... heck, if you like FOOD you'll love this place. They do spicy well, not just hot but hot with depth. I have a food allergy and they remember and do a wonderful job of helping me figure out what I can and can't eat. Being allergic to milk, I was always afraid to try Indian food because of the yogurt. But I can eat there without fear because of how awesome they are. The parking situation is a little weird, but it's easy to figure out. Bring a sweater! It's chilly in there in the winter. I love the meat samosas (with the sauce that comes with the papadums, because I can't eat the yogurt sauce the samosas come with), the vegetable pakoras, the flying horse beer, and the aloo chole. Their aloo chole is incredible! My fiance loves their masala tea, murg vindaloo, and aaaaallll the naan. He also says their kheer is the best he's ever had. Each dish is soooo big, you always take home leftovers! No matter how hard I try, I always end up with enough to bring to work the next day. They take excellent care of their customers. Go once, and you'll become a regular.

If you are into really nice looking places, this is not the place for you, however if you are into seeking out diamonds in the rough, you may want to consider visiting Welcome Indian. What a strange name for a restaurant. It probably has an Indian name that sounds really eloquant. Nevertheless, we have had many good experiences with the food there. It is good with a very homey feeling. The service is casual and good as it a very small restaurant that used to be a diner called the "ultimate diner". The booths are still being used from the diner. The owner is often there and he acts as a server at times. Good honest food. Try them, they may surprise you. Tell them Byron says hi!

Before the renovation, it didn't look like much from the road, but WOW is this place good. Your first clue should be that it's frequented by tons of people who are actually from India and the region, excellent sign. Really Really, solid food.

This place is so close to always super-busy Route 9 that if you trip over the step exiting the establishment you may well get yourself run over. But don't let that deter you. The food is excellent and not as expensive as some other local Indian restaurants. I don't care what other reviewers say about the lamb as I'm vegetarian (should a true Indian restaurant even serve meat?). This place is win.

I rely frequently on Yelp reviews when coming to choose a restaurant. This one I chose quickly, on the go, when visiting the area for shopping. I failed to read the reviews well and notice who writes what. I have been there to lunch and chose the buffet (hence, cannot comment on the menu choices). When reading this, please note I am not of Indian origin but have spent there very long time and I dine at Indian restaurants at least 4-5 times a month (and usually more). Place is as ugly as they get but this never bothered me when food is good. Buffet was the smallest I have seen in a long time with little choice and very tired looking dishes. Taste is mitigated probably to fit all diners and all dishes lacked even a hint of Indian spices or flavor. Fried Samosas were soggy and plain tasting and even the dahl was tasteless (the soup, on the other hand, was reasonably edible). Coming back home to write this review, I have noticed a review by Sivaraman dated 1/17/2015, in which he stated: "I have never had such a worst food in my life time... I'm not sure how this restaurant is 4 star rated in yelp..." - I could not agree more - simply put: the worst I had in years! My recommendation: AVOID AT ALL COST!

Welcome India lies west of the Natick Mall on Route 9 on the east bound side of the road. They are a stand alone building with parking available on three sides, with an eye catching yellow awning. They have a simple rectangular dining space with booths along the window facing Route 9, tables along the inner wall and down the center, and a relatively short buffet set at the far end of the room. We came for their 11:30am - 3pm lunch buffet for $8.95, so we walked on in, were set up at a booth, served water, and we headed off to help ourselves. There's a small set up for their chilled items to the right consisting of a metal bowl of simple salad fixings, the normal Indian sauces (a variety of chunteys, riata), and their dessert of the day - gulab jamun. The hot bar included two types of rice, two appetizers - vegetable samosa and pakora, carrot soup, 3 veggie options, 3 chicken options, and some cut up plain naan. They also served us our choice of regular or garlic naan at the table - we opted for garlic. That arrived hot and soft and cut up in a basket, but was a bit burnt in spots. The flavored rice had cooled, so I very much more enjoyed the tender white rice which had just been topped off by the kitchen. It was a small buffet, but the options basically ran the gamut of what could be expected in Indian cuisine. Unfortunately two of the chicken options (tandoori chicken and chicken tikka masala) were a little dry and tough. At least the chicken curry was tender!

I went in on a Monday and my spouse and I had the buffet there everything was just wonderful. The aroma of the food truly set you up for the intense taste of the food and the naan was so fresh I could not have gotten enough of it. Will definitely be returning.

Of the Indian Restaurants in Framingham I like this one the most. I've only been for dinner, never tried the buffet. I like the flavors, the casual atmosphere, the service. It's better than most at not overcooking the lamb too much. The vindaloo is my favorite, and the tika masala is lighter and fresher tasting than many. I think if you are looking for a buffet Minerva has the most variety, but for dinner I love Welcome India.

I don't know why I didn't stop by here sooner. It's my new favorite place. My favorites are the shrimp korma, chicken makani, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan. I also like the papadam. Very friendly service, excellent food, reasonable prices.

I can honestly say I don't think there was single item we enjoyed. We ordered the vegetarian appetizer sampler, chicken masala, bean masala, and another vegan dish. It was all either WAY too spicy, like couldn't eat it spicy, or it just didn't taste as good as other local Indian restaurants. The paneer pakora was especially disappointing.

Don't pay any attention to bad reviews! This place is delicious!! Lamb Curry sauce spectacular with the spinach naan, which altho not on the menu, they made for me. Service was terrific, Raj is the best. He seems to do it all. Constant water refills.. at the ready. WILL BE BACK.

Welcome India was the first Indian food I've tried and it remains some of the best. The ingredients are high quality and the food is well spiced. My family of 4 orders two vegetarian specials and a meat dish and we're always left with just enough leftovers for the next day (which usually gets eaten before morning). The waitstaff is very friendly, and despite the hole-in-the-wall outward appearance, the facility is definitely clean and sanitary. There are rarely more than 2-3 tables seated at a time surprisingly, so service is fast. Definitely try Welcome India when you get the chance!

First off, the picture they have on Yelp is not what the outside looks likes. They have a very beat up yellow awning with faded letters. I don't know where this green awning comes from. Also on their website they make reference to a bar menu. Yes, they serve drinks, but they do not have a bar. Ok, regarding my experience, I was less than impressed. A few negatives jumped out at me. First, they decor is dated and worn. Second, I was grossed out to see the silverware laying on the bare table. I'm sure they clean the tables, but who knows how well. Just the idea of my fork laying on the table top is nasty. My third negative and the biggest was the food temperature. Some of the dishes in their buffet were very hot and some were lukewarm. All dishes should have been served hot. I believe it may be a code violation to allow dishes to sit in the open that fall below a certain temp. The taste of the food was ok. No better or worse than I've had at other Indian places on average. The best place I've eaten at by far is The Pongal in Billerica. The server was nice and fairly attentive, but I was again grossed out when he went to refill one of the water glasses at my table and grabbed the glass by placing his whole hand across the top of the glass. That's just plain disgusting. Also his cell phone rang very loudly on a few occasions and he proceeded to walk around the dining room while having a phone conversation. Overall, this wasn't a great experience. I won't be back.

We've eaten at a lot of Indian Restaurants and this was one of the worst. We ordered medium spicy after reading reviews saying the food was over-spiced and it was all incredibly bland. Our three different entrees were basically the same cream sauce with different things throw in. The "boneless cubed chicken" was tasteless, dry, and un-marinated, and obviously thrown in at the end as there were still parts of chicken without sauce coating them. Very disappointed and won't be going back.

It's a little out of the way to come here for Indian from here I live but it is certainly worth it. The prices are seasonable and they have decent portion sizes. The employees are very attentive and I've never had an issue with service. While they do serve wine and a few bottled beers they do not have a bar so if you're looking to have mixed drinks or harder liquor you'll be out of luck. Parking can be tricky if it's crowded, so be sure to check both sides of the building. They have a lunch buffet that usually has a pretty decent spread as well as very cheap, and I can't say I've ever been disappointed by it. I'll be back but probably not for a while since it's so far away.

Woohoo! I don't know much about about Indian food but I know the times I have been here the food has been fantastic. The staff are always very friendly and the portions are quite substantial. This has quickly become my go to take out restaurant.

Went for Sunday lunch buffet.. Wouldn't go again. Curry inside samosa was not cooked properly. Pakoda was fine. Palak paneer and Malai kofta were a bit bitter. Chana masala was good. Garlic naan was not fresh. Kheer and Gajar halwa was ok. There were hardly any customers. Ambience is no good at all. Price appears to be less but would argue it should be much lower... Not worth even for lower price.

The place is shady looking from the outside and that was preventing me from going in. They should definitely invest in the décor because i'm sure people like me were kept off from visiting because of the appearance. Once inside, the place felt warm and coz and small. There are only a limited number of seats. However, it felt like they didn't vacuum and clean the place enough because of a persisting moldy smell. Food was average at best. We ordered vegeterian platter, coconut soup, daal makhni, jeera rice and raita. The service was superfast. So I felt like either they were throwing pre-made dishes in the microwave or were serving us leftovers from the buffet. Because there was no way they could prepare everything that quick!! Prices were reasonable and food wasnt that terrible, so I think I might visit here once in a while...But just surprised how that merits 5 stars here. 2 1/2 stars at best from me!

Went here for take-out tonight, totally based on Yelp reviews. I live in Westborough where there are plenty of Indian places, but most are mediocre at best. My BF hates Indian food, so thought I'd treat myself since he is out of town. Well, I have to say that the food was amazing!!! I got the vegetable samosas, chicken tikka masala, garlic naan and the mango chutney. SO delicious - the three sauces that came with the samosas were wonderful and the naan was some of the best I've had. The tikka masala was the highlight - I ordered it medium and it was the perfect level of spice for me. Portions were so generous that I will have another meal tomorrow. I ordered online through EAT24 and that was the only issue, although minor - ordered online at 3:00 to pick up at 4:30 and although it was ready, I could tell it had been sitting there awhile. Not an issue for me as everything reheated nicely - in the future, I think I'll go there, order and wait though. I always order the same thing at Indian restaurants (totally Americanized I know) - now that I've found this place, I'll be branching out in the future!

We love this place and have been meaning to write a review on Yelp for years. Over the years, we have eaten at pretty much every Indian restaurant in the area, and Welcome Indian is by far the best we've had to date. Chicken do piaza, mutter paneer and vegetable samosas with plain naan is our go-to order, but I can honestly say everything we have ordered there has been delicious! We like it HOT and SPICY, and they actually make it the way we ask. If you don't like hot, try the chicken korma. The sauce is delicious!

If you're looking for great Indian food in the Framingham area, then WELCOME Fine Indian Cuisine is your jam! One fateful night my wife and finally put aside our initial reservations about ordering due to it's outside appearance, but like they say...you shouldn't judge a book by it's cover. We ordered takeout and it was uhmazing and it is now our go-to for Indian food. We've never sat down to eat in the restaurant but the staff on hand is always friendly and prompt with our take-out orders. Stop reading and place your order now!

I love this place! They have a great buffet. It usually is pretty quiet with a constant stream of take out order customers. They are super pleasant. It's a very unassuming place located on bustling route 9. Get the pashabri naan with raisins and deliciousness.

I come here all the time, and I am never disappointed. Their food is really great, and it's hard to find anywhere that's is as good. Usually I come for the buffet, but I have eaten from their dinner menu more than once. The buffet is a great value and doesn't disappoint. The food is well kept up and is always hot. They also give you as much naan as you ask for with no extra charge with the buffet, which is great. Their garlic naan is a must have. The regular menu prices are a little expensive, but I'd say it's worth it. My favorites from this place are the chicken tikka masala and the paneer korma. Don't let the small odd exterior appearance dissuade you from coming here!

We went for the first time last night, and the food was very good!! We started with the banana chat appetizer (a special), which was tasty and creamy. Our main dishes were chicken tikka masala, tandouri shrimp masala, muttar paneer, and vegetable biryani. All of them were very good or better. They also served a raita that had little bits of potato (?) in it -- nice touch. The naan was also good. Service was very friendly and reasonably quick. We'll be back.

I used to drive by Welcome in high school and be like holy cow how is that place still open it looks like something the mob keeps running to launder money. But I figured the Indian mafia probably isn't that active so when a friend asked me to go with him I did and it was amazing! Inside is actuallypretty nice! The staff is friendly the food is great and the buffet deal is solid.

OMFG. This is my favorite Indian food in New England so far. Aloo Gobi - YUM Tandoori Chicken - YUM Roti - YUM Poori - YUM Chai - YUM Prices - GOOD. The photo on the review page is either not of this place or of this place before they changed. The outside is bright BRIGHT yellow. The inside looks like your favorite Indian Auntie's living room. I am a huge fan.

So delicious!! I have tried every Indian place in metrowest Boston and this is by far the best! I used to LOVE "Goldstar" years ago before closed. Been trying to find a replacement ever since! I only eat vegetarian, seafood and chicken dishes. The chicken tikka, saag, naan, soups, rice/biryani are all consistently fresh and so flavorful without being overdone. I am excited to try the dosa next! Ambiance and RT 9 leaves little to be desired but worth it :)

I will preface this by saying I am not a huge fan of Indian food, so there were some things I could take or leave but overall it was very good. My husband and I split the special non vegetarian meal for takeout. We were both pretty hungry and there was just the right amount of food for two people. It comes with Soup, Vegetable Samosa, sizzling tandoori Chicken, Chicken Tikka, Seekh Kabab, Boti Kabab, choice of any entree,, Rice, Naan and dessert. We had chicken tikka masala as our entree and rice pudding for dessert. I don't totally understand what it was I was eating. As far as I could tell we had 2 chicken items not 3 and there was only 1 kabob item. I could be wrong though since I'm not versed in Indian food. So take my review with a grain of salt. The chicken, naan, and rice was all really good. I loved the chicken dish in orange sauce (thought thats tikka masala...whats the differnce chicken tikka and chicken tikka masala?) I didn't care for the kabob or the rice pudding. I also probably used all the wrong sauces the wrong way. Anyways, it was good and it was cheap. I am interested to try again.

I have driven past here for years and finally made the plan to go. I always thought it looked a little shabby from the outside and I do not go for BUFFET anything. We went Saturday for dinner and was VERY happy. The restaurant was about half full and we were seated right away. The service was attentive and yet not hovering over us. We usually go out a little later to avoid being rushed or crowded in. The place was very clean and everything seamed very well maintained. The main thing that impressed me was the food. Very good. Great flavor and all served hot and fresh. I lived in NYC and had Indian food often, and this was right up there with my favorites. I thought the price was fair for the amount of food you received and beers were a good deal as far as restaurants go. Will be back for sure with friends.

Amazing food! The navratan korma and the dal makhni are to die for. I come back every month!

Oh my goodness, I was so surprised! I thought that by the looks of the outside, this would be terrible, and I would be poisoned by substandard Indian food. If anyone has ever been to a bad Indian buffet, you know what I mean! But....This Place Is Amazing!! We went to the buffet lunch, which is definitely the way to go! They also have a full menu, and will gladly serve you a single entree of what they have on the buffet for a couple bucks more. :-) But to the buffet...You get either regular or garlic naan brought to your table. There are vegetarian and meat dishes. The chicken tiki masala was Amazing! There were these vegetable balls (sorry, proper name escapes me) that were complex, and must have had a little bit of nutmeg or amazingness inside them. The goat was tender and scrumptious. The paneer - oh my. I hope I'm conveying the tastiness of it all! There was fruit and a "carrot cake" (bright orange, looked like shreds of sugared carrot) for dessert, along with fried honeyed balls of dough. People, if you're close and you eat Indian, look for the bad yellow awning and pull in!

Family-run restaurant with really well-prepared, Great Indian dishes--menu specials are often something out of the ordinary, and everything is delicious. Our favorite Indian restaurant in the Boston area.

We went to Welcome for a weekday lunch buffet ($8.95); the food was below average. Several of the dishes had the same orange curry (i.e., chicken tikka masala vs. a paneer dish tasted exactly the same). The green chutney was watery and looked like it was days old. The gulab jamun was cold as it was placed next to the salad and chutney. If they moved it over to the buffet, it could be served warm. Things were replenished on the buffet very slowly and sparingly. The restaurant itself is not very fancy - reminiscent of an old diner - with worn seats, dirty/faded carpeting, someone's work clothes and tie hanging on a hanger next to the restrooms. All of that could be forgiven if the food were more palatable! Another downer was the hostess - she looked angry and as if she would rather be anywhere else. At one point a gentleman at the buffet asked her quietly about a certain dish that he did not see, and she snapped at him that they change their menu all the time. It was rude, curt, and unnecessary. We were there almost an hour, and she didn't smile once. She may have been having bad day, but it's another reason I won't be back.

Had the buffet here last Wednesday. Everything was hot and fresh. Very good meal. Not a big selection but what they have is excellent.

Worth driving to! The outside looks a bit like a diner and so we didn't expect the best food but gave it a try because at the time, there weren't many other choices for Indian food in the area. It was amazing food and service and pleasant inside. Now, there are many other Indian restaurants (e.g. Westboro) and we keep trying them because they are closer to us, but they just aren't close in terms of quality of food. So it's worth driving to Welcome. Everything we have ever ordered has been great - very rich flavors, almost what you get when have homemade Indian food.

I feel bad for the people that think this Indian restaurant deserved more than a couple of stars. The service was good, but the food is nothing special. I am a bit fussy, because Indian is my favorite food, and I cook it at home on a regular basis, but I expect to get a better meal than I can make at home when I dine out. An Indian dish should burst with a variety of different flavors, no matter how spicy it is. Our chicken dish tasted the same as our lamb dish, spicy with no individuality. Really disappointed.

We revisited Welcome Indian Cuisine as we had not been there for quite a while. Unfortunately, our experience was not as good as the last. To start off, we noticed different staff and the menu had been updated, which made us wonder if they changed owners or something. The service was not great, but I think that was because there was only one waitress on and there were a lot of people dining as well as those coming for take out. We waited so long for our food, our drinks, our check, etc. The food was the most disappointing because in the past we had been here multiple times and the food had been incredible. This time, it really lacked taste and all of the sauces whether it was masala or korma, tasted very similar. Maybe they were just having an off day, but because of the stiff competition in the metrowest area, I doubt we will be back here anytime soon.

I always drive past this place and it always looks empty or closed. Anyway, I decided to call and it was open. I have had the chicken tandoori and lamb curry. mmmhhhh!! I love Indian food and framingham is not lacking in them, but this is one of my favorite spots. It is tiny, they have lunch buffet. I have not tried buffet style yet but I order from here very frequently.Great customer service. That always goes very far.

Ate here for the 2nd time this trip. Got the non-veg meal for 1 both times but with different dishes. All delicious. Will definitely return in future trips Been driving by this place for years and never gone in. Kind of looks dumpy from the outside. Yelp reviews convinced me to give it a try. Pretty nice inside, much better than outside appearances would have you think. Attentive service if not a bit brash. Great food though. Can't knock that at all

Good food. Not the best Indian food I've ever had, but it's still delicious. We had the veggie samosas, plain naan, and I had saag paneer (spicy). The saag had a nice heat to it but I would have liked it a little spicier. The ambience leaves a little something to be desired, but it's ok. We were trying to figure out what the building used to house- my guess was gas station. That give you a little idea of the feel... Wish they had a nicer/larger wine selection. I'd go back if I was in the area but wouldn't necessarily make a special trip. Props for the awesome name.
