When we walked in the lady in front of us said, "If you're not Brazilian they will not serve you properly". It saddens me to say this, she was right. We waited 30 plus minutes for scrambled eggs, 2 pancakes & bacon, 2 X-Galinha plates and 3 orange juices. The egg plate had to be returned. The chicken sandwiches were okay. The juices had no ice, so it tasted like old oranges. The service is obviously bad. The lady that gave the tip, is still here waiting on an order she made 2 weeks ago.

This place has some of the craziest burgers I've encountered in the Boston area. It's a Brazilian cafe and bakery, but I have to say that their "Brazilian" burgers stand out. The x-Broadway is more than a burger. It's a massive meat sandwich piled high with egg, ham, chicken breast, steak, burger, ham, and a few other fixins. It needs to be eaten with a fork and knife unless you have a detachable jawbone.

Initially, there was a bit of a language barrier. I spoke to one girl who called another. That girl then called Christina. I assume she (Christina) was either the owner or a relative of the owner because she was telling the girls what to do. I explained to her that I wanted to sample some of the most popular treats in their pastry case. Within seconds she handed me a basket of 4 pastry. One with queijo/cheese, another with guava jam, which resembled a thumb print cookie, another braided cookie and one with a glaze on top. The latter two were a little dry and crumbled too easily for my liking but you could easily eat the guava cookie with tea and the queijo with soup or cut it up into quarters and saute the pieces with a little fresh garlic, olive oil, and parsley and put them in your Cesar salad instead of croutons. Mmm Their pastry case is separated into two categories, salt and sweet. I brought home 4 quiejo ($1) and 3 shredded chicken pastry ($1) and a "donut" filled with caramel that tasted closer to dulce de leche. That was very good. I don't know how authentic this place is since they serve American food, but what was most intruging was their extensive Brazilian sandwich menu. Just look at some of the choices - and they come with french fries. X-Broadway - Steak, Hamburger, Chicken breast, Bacon, Buns, Corn, Peas, Ham, Cheese, Tomato, Lettuce, Egg, Potato Sticks, and mayo. With French Fries on side $7.75 X Chicken - Buns, corn, peas, ham, cheese, tomato, lettuce, chicken breast, potato sticks and mayo $5.50 X- Turkey - Buns, corn, peas, cheese, tomato, lettuce, Sliced turkey, potato sticks and mayo $5.00 Christina said they've been open for 18 months and in that time she has never eaten one of these sandwiches because she confessed, "They're too big." After sampling a bowl of the chicken and yucca soup and the plate of the day, my friends, I must refer you to Oliveira's down the street. The soup was microwaved and contained a ball of unheated protein and starch in the middle, was tepid, and waaay too salty. While the majority of tables seated Brazilians feasting on the plate of the day (large enought for 2 to share), it was not so memorable. Go to Oliveira's down the road and get your churrascaria and buffet on.

I really like their prato-do-dia (plate of the day). Huge portions, too. Their açai bomb is also very good. Their meat pastel was a bit too salty but plain cheese pastel is excellent. To the person that wrote that if you are not Brazilian they will not serve you properly, I completely disagree. I'm not Brazilian but I always feel welcomed by super friendly and helpful staff. Also their freshly squeezed juices are the freshest juices I've ever tasted.

Great little coffee house that servesBrazilian and American food. They serve sweet and savory food. The sweet pastries are very similar to Italian pastries and the savory snacks that I like the most are: "pastel" which a type of Rangoon (like crab rangoon)but with other fillings which derives from Japanese cuisine. Delicious. Also a type of chicken croquette called " Coxinha" (it pronounces "kosheenia"). Besides these snacks you can have your Brazilian lunch or basic American luch/dinner. I just recommend this cafe because I've tried other ones and they are not as clean and organized as this one.

a must try!! im brazilian my self and have no problems communicating with the girls at the counter but there shouldnt be a problem 4 people who dont speak portuguese cuz there will always be either the owner or owner's daughter working who speaks english fluently. plate of the day is delicious. i usually get the grilled chicken option with 2 fried eggs and a side salad for dinner :) delicious "salgadinhos",which are brazilian fried appetizers.great "cod cakes" try them with hot sauce!! also really good loaf cakes and sweet breads! all their brazilian sandwiches are delicious.veryy big though so go there hungry! also they have a huge variety of fruit smoothies and tropical fruit juices. freshly squeezed orange juice too.. but i dont recommend the american food on their menu, its a brazilian restaurant/cafe!

So my friend had to go to the Everett Post office pick up a package. Since we parked right outside Broadway cafe I decided to go in and grab some fresh orange juice and a bunch of pastries. When I got in, I was waiting at the display closest to the register. The girl that was working saw me and told me to give her a few minutes, since she was busy helping a customer before me. I was the only other customer waiting to be served at that area and I waited patiently. After about five minutes, the same girl disregards me and goes to help a Brazilian man who just got into the Cafe. He kindly told her that I was there first. I don't understand how she forgot about me in such little time. Maybe if the other patron was a girl, I could have given her the benefit of the doubt, but I was infuriated because he definitely wasn't. I guess you have to be Brazilian to actually receive good service. This is also not the first time where I didn't feel welcome because I'm not Brazilian. Another worker also had the audacity to comment on how nice that gentleman was, while he just answered, "Well ladies first". He wasn't being "nice", its common courtesy to serve people in the order that they come, and not based on their nationality.

A decent place to get breakfast. Not too many places servce breakfast in the afternoon, but this place does. That is why I went. I got a vegetable omelette. It had a good amount of vegetables and a lot of home fries. Without a drink and including tax, you are looking at 7 and change. But they give you bread with it. And the bread is actually pretty good. Some pastries and other things here. I have not tried their Brazilian specialties yet, but maybe one day when I am feeling more adventurous. Not good parking along the sidestreets and you will pretty much have to resort to meter parking here in front of the store. Good seating inside though. I will be back when I am hankering for some breakfast in the afteroon.

Not sure why this place gets so busy. My husband and I have gone here a bunch of times and I don't think we've ever had an experience that doesn't require fixing something. My husband is brazilian so he orders in portuguese. So the fact that the people working there don't always speak english well is not an excuse. They have forgotten to make our order, made our order wrong, taken 45 minutes to make our order. We stopped going for a while because we had so many problems but we tried giving them another chance because they are one of the few places in the area that serves breakfast. This time I will never go back. My 4 month old is allergic to dairy and I am nursing so I can't eat dairy either. I usually just make my own breakfast but today my husband wanted to buy omlettes. He told the girl at the counter that I can't have dairy and the reason why. My daughter could get really sick. They are required by the health department to be certified to deal with allergies. Apparently they are not. All they had to do was not put cheese in the omlette. They would save money. But of course, my husband gets home and there's cheese. When he went back to fix it, the cook came out of the kitchen ready to fight him. What is that? So, unless you are buying something really simple, like a loaf of bread and a cup of coffee (although they even messed that up and charged my husband for a cappuccino) I would not go here because they will mess it up. If you decide to say something they probably wont deal with it well.

This place is the best bang for your buck I had in my entire trip to Boston this week. The Broadway-X Burger features a good 6 different types of meat on a hamburger bun along with lettuce, peas, and corn. It's literally a meal in a sandwich. Probably the largest burger i've ever eaten. All that and fries for $8.50.

They had very large portions but was disappointed. food came out cold to lukewarm. Home fries were partially cooked. Ordered ham and bacon got just ham. Ordered a strawberry smoothie and mango smoothie. Awful strawberry one tasted chalky and mango had no fruit taste. I would never go back. I gave 2 stars because of portions

Great: Acai Bowl - best in Boston (that I've had) Good: Their dinner plates are huge, delicious and a great price.. highly recommend, if you're not too hungry, definitely share. Their traditional Pão francês (signature brazilian roll) is always fresh, delicious & cheap. I recommend always brining a few home with you after visiting. Okay: Salgados (fried Brazilian croquettes).. Sometimes they're pretty good, a lot of times not so much. The inconsistency is a bummer.. I wish they'd make these to order, so they're guaranteed fresh and hot. Bad: Their cakes are too inconsistent! Occasionally they're good, but most of the time they're soggy, stale & not worth the calories from sugar.

Awesome restaurant and bakery. The Cheese bread and the baked Ham and Cheese minis are awesome. The Burgers are HUGE! As are the portions on their other daily specials. Super Cheap and the service is always great.
