High Cholesterol at Whataburger

Calorie intake is the main concern for people with high cholesterol while dining at a fast-food restaurant like Whataburger. Well, you can always try the Lighter & Smaller options from the menu to cut down your fat intake. Opting for grilled sandwich or burgers are preferred compared to double meat or triple meat cheesy burgers which contain high cholesterol.

Foods to Avoid at Whataburger for High Cholesterol

Cut down on your meat intake to control your high cholesterol. You must skip Double Meat Whataburger and Triple Meat Whataburger at all costs. Whatacatch Dinner may sound tempting but the famous fish sandwich is also full of calories and unhealthy fat. Lastly, avoid French Fries and Onion Rings at Whataburger if you are already ordering a burger or any other heavy meal.

I had read about this place on Yelp and decided not to go there. When the cafe that we had planned to visit closed before we arrived, we walked around and stumbled in here. I had forgotten that I had read about it. We were seated immediately. The booth was quite big. I was surprised. I know that I have lost a little weight, but I scooched right in with no problem. The menu had a few salads, a few sandwiches, maybe two burgers and some traditional New England stuff that I wouldn't see around where I live. Rather than go all carbed out, I decided to play safe with a veggie wrap and cole slaw. I'm a cole slaw snob. This stuff was pretty good, but it had been sitting for a while, so it was a bit waterier than I think it might have been when it was made. The wrap had hummus, portobello mushroom, lettuce, bell pepper, carrots, lettuce and tomato. If it had some avocado and a bit of cilantro or basil, it would have been excellent. As it was, it was good. I added a few drops of green Tabasco to it. Jeff ordered the scallop roll. They were small but juicy. I ordered an iced tea and a glass of water. Both were refreshing, especially given the high humidity today. The place was busy, but not too busy. The waitress was attentive, but could have been a bit more proactive, I thought. I saw the plate of nachos on another table and they looked delicious. All the plates were big and the prices were reasonable for the area, I thought. I was pleasantly surprised, given the reviews on here. They seemed to have some good bar specials. It definitely does seem to have a pretty young crowd!

Great, friendly service and an equally friendly meal at good prices for the island reconfirm my belief that if you want a casual place to bring the kids or just grab a bite before a movie, The Wharf is The Answer. Thank goodness for places like The Wharf. When we want salads, burgers, mussels, pasta and fries, there's only one place in Edgartown that fills the bill.

Cheap eats if you pick the right parts from the menu. I went in for lunch with an 12 year old. She ordered the mac & cheese, and a coke. Happy camper :) I ordered the tuna salad sandwich, and had fries on the side. The options were cole slaw, fries, or kettle chips. As much as I love kettle chips, I decided to go for fries this time. The waitress was very attentive, and continually refilled our drinks, even after I asked for the bill! Very family friendly atmosphere, but I can see it being a bit pricey if you order the $20+ options from the menu. I honestly think its a great place, huge servings, and a nice air conditioned spot to rest your tired feet. Great price and great food!

Ran in here today during the flash thunderstorm for lunch. Recommended if your goal is a lowkey lunch in Edgartown. Waitress threw down the type of quick, direct service I'd expect at a place like this. From a food standpoint, i was more than satisfied: - I'm a sucker for good bread on the table - Alaskan Snow crab - (was on lobster overload and needed a light seafood option that wasn't fried) - we enjoyed this - The Caprese Salad was surprisingly really good - fresh pesto and really fresh tomatoes Recommended unless you're looking for fine dining.

A really nice pub with a deceptive amount of space. Small frontage and huge dining area. The food ranges from excellent $12 burgers and sandwiches to Upton $25-$30 entrées. The service is smiling and helpful. An all round good experience.

Surprisingly this place is serving up some really good fresh fish. I had the fish & chips for lunch. Excellent. I don't go to the Vineyard very often but when I do, only the best and this place is up there & I hope the good food continues throughout the season. Give 'em a try.

Last day at Martha's Vineyard with the family and we wanted to go somewhere good. Thanks, Yelp, for helping us find this awesome restaurant. Firstoff, I must say I love their clam chowder. They put bacon in it and it's just so creamy and flavorful. I would definitely rate it the best on the vineyard (but I'm biased because of the bacon-y deliciousness). I would give the place a 4.5/5 on decor/ambiance. It was a really big restaurant on the inside, clean bathrooms, nice pub attached next door, and the only reason why I didn't give it a 5/5 is because the tiled floors are uneven and I tripped. I noticed a couple of other people stumbling too, but I guess it's not easy to level the whole floor. The best part of dining out with the whole family is that we get to try a lot of different dishes. We started out with the calamari, crab and artichoke dip, and shrimp cocktail appetizers. The calamari was cooked well, not too chewy, and the thai peanut sauce was good (nothing too special). The crab and artichoke dip was pretty tasty, though it solidified pretty quickly because of the massive amounts of cheese. The shrimp was quite delicious and well cooked. I ordered the most expensive item on the menu: 1 1/4 lobster "in the rough"? It was the grilled lobster dish with littleneck clams and muscles. Oh. My. Gosh. Best lobster dish I've ever had, and I've been all around Maine and New England too. It's the sauce that they cook the shellfish in.. some zesty tasty tomatoey sauce that's absolutely delicious. Huge portion too, but I can eat a ton. I'd recommend splitting this dish or at least splitting the shellfish because it was a doozy. Other awesome menu items were Lobster ravioli, surf and turf, and some other seafood dishes. They've got a great selection of non-seafood items (salads, sandwiches/burgers, pasta, meats) but their specialty is definitely the seafood. My cousin got the 1/2 rack ribs, which were tasty and tender but a bit on the dry side, and the filet mignon my dad got as the surf and turf special was ever so slightly overcooked. The service got a 5/5. We made reservations and were seated right away, got our drinks, and the food came out not too long after we ordered. Our waitress was really nice and attentive and everything seemed very organized. Fair prices, great food, great service... I'd definitely recommend The Wharf!

Nice little place located smack in the middle of Edgartown. The atmosphere is relaxed and the decor is pubbish. I had a Reuben sandwich, which was prepared just right. And for those who like good beer, I am pleased to report that they have Dog Fish Head on tap (one of my favorites). And for the best part, the prices; they were very fair considering you're on the Vineyard and in Edgartown.

The Wharf is a cute, reasonably priced lunch spot in Edgartown with excellent clam chowder and clam rolls. Servers are friendly, but not necessarily the most efficient - not an ideal spot if you're in a rush.

The Wharf has it all! This place just gets better and better. It has everything for all age groups too. We dine with my two kids so the menu has to be diversified and reasonable for us to afford dining out. It is both. Everything from the appetizers to the desserts make you want to come back. Yes, they do have a great burger but don't stop there. The menu changes quite often and I think they have the best Jambalaya on the island and even though it's not offered on the menu it comes up as a special every now and then. The chowder is great, nacho's are a family starter for us and everything from the fish and chips (my son always gets it) and the veggie pasts with chicken added usually yields leftovers for me the next day. Tuesdays are currently two for one so my wife and I breakaway without the kids and hit dinner later that night. What a great deal. On the side they have a pub with the island characters and regulars which is totally separated from the dining part so it's really the best of both worlds. We love the wharf for all that this family establishment has to offer. A friendly face at all times, always good hearty food and a good wine list for all to pick from. We'll be coming back here quite often!

Our party of 14 came here for some lunch and were pleasantly surprised by how satisfied we all were from the food. Courtney, our waitress, was friendly and patient enough for our annoying antics. I got a cup of clam chowder and although it packed a lot of flavor and wasn't too oily/creamy, it did lack generous servings of clams. The 8oz Angus and Linguica Burger hit the spot perfectly. My friends got their Special of the day, Yellow Tuna Sandwhich, which they all enjoyed. My only beef complaint which I should've voiced was the fact that I got charged 7 dollars for a virgin pina colada. Not cool!

Beware of wings and happy hour. They advertise half price wings at happy hour before 6. We went for those and were seated at the restaurant with drinks in hand when I asked about the happy hour menu. We were told it was done in at the bar only. No mention of that online or in print ads. We paid for the drinks and moved to the bar. Virtually no seating there. No tables to speak of. So we moved back and ordered full price wings during happy hour. They were awful. Over cooked and dry in spite of buffalo sauce and Caribbean whatever. Literally the worst and most expensive we have ever eaten in our lives. I had a great meal in this place last year but buyer beware. What you order matters and I think it is shady to advertise a happy hour that is not restaurant wide without mentioning the caveat.

Best place in Edgartown. Great clam chowder, great clam roll, and awesome mango chicken salad. A little stingy on the chicken though.

I had the best blackened chicken sandwich with caramelized onions, and my husband had a perfectly made Reuben sandwich. ( Trust me he's very hard to please.) Also a super shout out to the BEST waiter on the island Aaron D. I really appreciate your stellar and genuine customer service. The food was great, but he took it to another level.

We showed up and decided that we would be cheap at this meal. After all, how often do you want to shell out for expensive seafood on an MV vacation. Turns out that the answer is "always"! Simple things like a turkey sandwich are overpriced and not well done at the Wharf Pub. It's not worth it to try and run from the higher priced menu items. Stuffed quahogs are tasty and spicy. Lobster Bisque was good. Never even try to get this dish outside of Massachusetts. Lobster Caesar Salad had good tasting meat. Overall, not a bad place to rest your butt in Edgartown.

Went to The Wharf with my wife early on a Saturday evening. The bar was packed, but there were only a few tables in the dining room. Ordered a couple of drinks and waters. Had to ask three times to get the water. Next we ordered the "Chowder Fries". It was something new and not something I'd recommend unless you like Soggy Fries sitting in a bowl of Clam Chowder. Of course, they might have been better if the waitress had brought us plates and utensils within 10 minutes of their arrival at the table. Still, it's not something I would order again. For our entrees I had a Cobb Salad and my wife ordered a Chicken Parm Sandwich. My salad was delivered, but no sign of my wife's sandwich or our waitress. Ten minutes passed and we flagged down the waitress and she mumbled something. A table next to us that came in 20 minutes later got their food and I flagged the waitress down again and asked again where my wife's meal was. The waitress told us she had sent someone for it (I was thinking that meant she had sent them off-island to pick it up). Finally, my wife's sandwich came. It had obviously just been made as it was very hot. She said it was pretty good. My Cobb salad was meh. The chicken and ham was diced so fine as to almost be smaller than blue-cheese crumbles. It wasn't bad...just not all that good. All in all, the meal cost just under $50. On the basis of food it was passable for the cost (considering Island prices), but the service was pretty darn bad. The Wharf has been there a long time and we'll probably try it again as there aren't a lot of choices here during the winter. Maybe it was an off-night for this lady, but it sure didn't seem like she was even attempting to put an effort into serving us and no one was willing to pickup the slack.

The wharf had a silent dj night. I had heard about it but never been before. They came out with a round of headphones and I didn't get one but found myself wanting some. After about five minutes they came out with more and I got some. They had two djs spinning hip house and house. Like life if you are tuned in you can be a part of something. I thought drinking the kool aide would be lame but it was actually really fun. You could switch channels and totally see who was vibing out on your station. You could also dance really badly and everybody would just assume you were on channel b. They passed out sunglasses and underwear and that really kicked it up a notch. Taking off the headphones and glasses and underwear and looking around you saw some ecstatic gyrating and dancing, and the shouts of the deranged and you were thankfully only temporarily removed from the fun. return your disguise of real life and you were again submerged and if you had a drink numbed to the fake world without music and shades.

Excellent seafood and service in a casual setting. My wife said the lobster was the best she's ever had, and the seafood platter was well executed as well. Two minor complaints that prevent me from awarding the elusive 5th star - the stuffed quahog was slightly overcooked, and they refused to switch my french fries for onion rings. They would not even accept my offer to just pay the difference (ridiculous when considering how much we were already spending) , so I ordered an extra plate to go with my pile of unwanted fries.

pretty standard pub and grille for MV. We stopped on in while walking the streets of Edgartown. Food is pretty good; my lobster roll was surprisingly good and my gf enjoyed her sandwich as well. Above average beer selection. Definitely a good lunch spot if you're in the area.

Hands down has the best prime rib on the island. It is a humongous portion, seasoned heavily, and can't beat the price. Their seafood is very good, I have never been disappointed. When they have it, the salmon is so juicy and cooked perfect. Chowder is a pretty good classic chowder. Service is good when busy. If its a slow night its hard to find or get your waitress. Coleslaw is too sweet for my taste.

It's so good, especially if you get a table by the cracklin' fireplace, that you're going to have a difficult time NOT returning there the following night. The house cheeseburger was probably in the Top Ten of all Cheeseburgers I've ever had, and they cook it just like you want it. Don't forget too they serve the Tall beers here in 2-pint mugs, so if you're thirsty for brew you'll get your fill. Convenient location right off the docks in Edgartown!

I had the best lobster dinner there I've had in years--so fresh and so sweet and delicious! Was a great place also with kids and relatively reasonable priced. Would definitely return.

A bit overpriced for what you get. Don't get me started on the food and menu... I always hate when I see a few workers with their thumbs up their you-know-whats, while others run around like chickens with their heads cut off. I would think when you have a party of 9 and 9 people order a drink, at some point between collecting your drinks from the bar and serving them to the table you would notice you missed 1 before disappearing for 15 minutes. To top it all off, when you are closing out your checks at the end of the evening I would also hope you might pick up on the fact that you put $600 on a guest's card as opposed to $100. Luckily my friend's bank called her to alert her to an unusually high sum, of course that does not take the hold off her account for the rest of her vacation. Most fortunately, when you go out to dinner with 8 of your closest and most awesome friends wherever you are has nothing to do with what a good time you have!

My boyfriend and I loved this restaurant. We came in on a Tuesday night after lots of shopping/sightseeing/exploring the island. The atmosphere was very nice, with soft lighting, small candles on the tables, soft 90s music in the background, and wood paneled walls. Lots of beer choices on tap with descriptions of each in the menu! The waitress was very nice. I got the mussels linguine which was SOO DELICIOUS, just the right amount of food and super flavorful. My boyfriend got the swordfish sandwich which he loved and said was the best swordfish he's had in a long time. We had a great experience here. Highly recommended!

Good service. Clam chowder was not bad but certainly not great compared to other places in MV. Fried whole clam platter was very good. Crispy and tasty but quite pricy at $26. My wife enjoyed the fried cod sandwich. Perfectly cooked. Good fries too!

We ended up in this place because every other place was closed on a Friday night, and it was surprisingly good! The food was of good quality and the service was also good. It was late in the day and they were preparing for a band/night club type of thing, but they were happy to serve us still. The pub next door was busy and looked like a lot of fun, didn't make it this time around, but would deffo recommend.

Delicious food and great drinks! A bit on the pricey side but so worth it. The staff is relaxed and very friendly, they seem to have kind of island time aura about them. They really have some great sandwiches! Try the pulled pork!

Much of Martha's Vineyard is dry, and that makes finding a good pub important for any lengthy trip in the areas that aren't dry. Having a reasonably priced pub is even more important on an island known for it's pricey eating choices. The Wharf accomplishes both of these island visit goals admirably. The food is tasty and reasonably priced (for the island). The staff were friendly, and drinks and food came in a reasonable amount of time. We were served at the bar in no time, even while it was packed for Sunday football watching. The main restaurant area is sizable with large booth seating. There is a back bar with occasional live entertainment including Stump Trivia on Thursday nights. All in all a good choice when taking a break from the more expensive choices (like Alchemy or Dave & Ryans).

Stopped in for lunch based on the reviews but the food was average and the service was just okay. We ordered the clam chowder and lobster rolls. The chowder was good but not the best in the region. The lobster roll was average size but there was a lot of filler which took away from the overall flavor. This is a decent place to stop by for a quick bite but probably not somewhere you would want to seek out as a destination.

Dinner last night was okay. My son really enjoyed it because he got the 1 1/4 lb Lobster...he was in lobster and butter heaven! Overall, the experience was okay...nothing special...I expected a multitude of fresh seafood choices but instead had very few non-shellfish choices. The prices were okay and reasonable. Wouldn't recommend going out of the way to eat there. The service was good.

Let's start with the name. Wharf / pub. Together they sound like an eclectic, charming old school location near the water. But if you really think about it, a wharf is where sweaty longshoreman and fisherman hang out, and a pub is usually a little grungy (I'm ok with that). Put them together; is that somewhere you will get a "fancy" meal? In any other location other than MV or Nantucket, probably not... We visited this establishment on the 3rd of July, and were lucky enough to get table for 6 (4 adults / 2 kids, kudos to them for moving things around for us). The restaurant definitely smelled like a pub, and the local tourist kids were patiently waiting for the rest of us "family" people to get the heck out so the band could set up... The menu is limited to a slightly higher than average, but the prices didn't match. I guess that's the price you pay for a tourist destination... The chairs and tables are the old wooden type, but maybe they keep them to add to the "nautical" theme (is there one??). If we were staying the week, our experience may have been different, but we were only on island for one day (our fault entirely), and should have thought ahead and made reservations at someplace like Chesters... During the time we were happy just to have a place to get food for the kids, but looking back....well...

Went here last night for a quick dinner with 3 kids under 5. Kids meal came out lightning quick, averting any hunger tantrums. My parents both got fish and chips and I got a burger. Everyone was very happy with their meals and the service was perfect. She didn't hover but was around when we needed her. Everyone's drinks tasted great even though the pints of beer had no head on them and looked flat (I'm a beer snob so this matters to me). A small but decent selection of beer. Nice interior in the place too. I highly recommend. (couldn't give it 5 stars due to imperfect beer pour).

  • Shashi B.

If I could, I'd do 3.5 stars for the fact that I think they are a bit overpriced, but then again, what isn't overpriced in Edgartown? Large menu selection, very family-friendly, something for everyone. Had a fantastic lobster roll - tons of lobster, light lemony/mayonnaise dressing, amazing bun. Husband loved the fish and chips. We also tried some off the beaten path apps, including fried pickles (came with a tangy dipping sauce - so good) and a very odd-sounding, yet delectable and entirely memorable appetizer called chowder fries. I know. Sounds disgusting, right? GET THEM! You won't be disappointed! I think I need to go back just to have them again. Yum.

The Wharf has become a tourist trap. Back in the day when it had two locations and two entrances, it was far better. And they had bands then too! Now days, it's pretty mediocre and staffed by seasonal dipshits. Oh, well.

Great spot for a family dinner. The place was teeming with kids and everyone was fine with parents strolling the toddlers around to keep them occupied. We tried the grilled swordfish, which was moist, along with mashed potatoes and asparagus - done to perfection. Pasta and mussels was excellent, as was the baby back ribs. Service was great - fast but not rushed. We will be back next time we vacation on MV.

Excellent food! My wife and I ate dinner here with our parents. I had the 12oz. Angus steak with fries and asparagus. The steak was cooked with a red wine reduction and it was delicious. The fries were also very good. The steak actually came with mashed potatoes, but I was craving French fries. My Dad ordered the same thing and he also enjoyed it. His serving of mashed potatoes was huge. Two ppl had burgers and they both said they were good. One was a burger with linguica (a Portuguese sausage) cut up on top of the burger. He said it was very good. My wife and mother-in-law had salads and they also enjoyed them. We shared a bowl of lobster raviolis just to try it. The sauce was amazing. I wasn't crazy about the raviolis themselves because I don't like lobster but dipping the garlic bread in the sauce was delicious. We also had coconut shrimp and fried calamari as appetizers. Both were very good, but I didn't like the sauce that came with the calamari. Three ppl ordered coffee but it was way too strong and they couldn't drink it. I would highly recommend this place. The food is delicious and the service is great!

Best meal I've had in a really long time! The price is right and the portions are large, good service, good environment. Love this place!

the previous reviews are quite accurate. It is strange that the setting is to attract some mature people who like beers and nice dinner. The food is always a weird choice. Not bad, but, you feel 10% is short of something in it. Another mystery is, this place attract, city type of young professionals. Definitely not local's hangout spot, but just picture a casual bar from Boston is brought down here. Weird to see boys wearing Polo shirts and still feel like they are classy, whereas, girls are just hip. No bimbos, so, I don't know about who scores to have smoochies. Boys simply look too lame and conforming for me, not original *w*

Had lunch there today, no great shakes but decent chow (fish sandwich was small for the $$ but fresh and well done) Great cole slaw and very good service from the bartender. Good local hangout near the water.

Good food, drinks and atmosphere. More reasonably priced than other similar places in Edgartown. Good service too. Sour Apple Martini is recommended as is the panini and turkey club with applewood smoked bacon. mmmmmm. good.

After a dismal experience 15 minutes earlier at the Atlantic, this was a refreshing mid-afternoon respite. Good, solid--and reasonable for Edgartown--bar food, well-mixed drinks, lovely patrons, and pleasant bar staff. I felt right at home. I ended up hugging the guy who suggested we go there, in fact. Lovely.

good solid pub here. fair warning, it was very crowded when i was there, but, then again, it was raining which severely limits the activities in edgartown. nevertheless, my party (of 6) got a table fairly quickly and a waitress who needed just one round to memorize everyone's drinks. not bad. good pub grub, too. i had the turkey and salami panini with fries. others were happy with burgers, chicken sandwiches and the like. it all looked good and, i gather from the way the plates were cleared, tasted ok too. good selection of beers and a good crowd. the yankees/red sox game was on and, being the vineyard, you had plenty of fans for both in there with lots of cheering and smack talk, but no one getting in anyone's face. the prices were, comparatively, reasonable, but don't think you're going to go in for a burger and a beer for $10 or $15. that's just the burger, homie.

The Wharf = Hookup Central. This place was my favorite place in Edgartown while I lived on The Vineyard. Vacationing college girls = smoochie, smoochie, smoochie. It's a relaxed type of watering hole with a post-college crowd. Shorts and polo shirts are the uniform. "Memories, like the corner of my mind..." Ha, ha!

Had a big fat juicy burger here, it was great. Coleslaw was very good too. Service was good. Good place for a lunch and it was one of the few actually open during the winter season. Would definitely go back.

Went here on a Saturday afternoon for lunch and enjoyed a good meal. The menu is pretty much your standard bar food. I got to try the blackened tuna sandwich, which was a special....nothing extraordinary about it, but a very tasty sandwich. The cole slaw was also very good. Also got a side of clam chowder and it was good, again nothing extraordinary, but I would get it again. The service was really good, fast and friendly. Oh and Meg Ryan was sitting at the booth right behind us....my first star sighting on the island, so that was pretty cool :)

A favorite watering hole of the local Edgartown college/young professional crowd. Can get pretty packed during peak season, especially during the holiday weekends like July 4th or Labor Day where you can expect a long line from 11 onward. Mostly a mix of summer-only kids coupled with some weekend visitors there for a wedding or short vacation. The music is often very good hip hop on some nights with live music on others. My advice is to be friendly and try to meet the regulars, as you may be privy to one of the many after-parties at some very swank houses down in Katama or over on Chappy. The restaurant itself is pretty disappointing, with ho hum food at premium prices. It sells itself as a family restaurant, and is mostly filled with tourists who don't know any better, so its best to stay away and hit up the Seafood Shanty down the street if you want some real seafood. Definitely roll back late night if its your scene, which I admit can get old after only a few visits.

So went into this place mid day, it was after lunch and before dinner so it was not very crowded. From what i understand we got very lucky the place is usually packed. The food was fab. I was not sure if what I ordered was the best choice, as it was the veggie wrap with hummus. Now for those of you that like veggie wraps or even hummus, you get timid in places that it might not be the specialty. To my surprise the hummus was great and so was the entire wrap. Now the other person in my party ordered the flank steak salad I was bummed I did not order that or go back a second day to try it. It was looking scrumptious. They also have a loaf of bread that comes with meals or you can order that was to die for. The service was great and everyone was friendly. I have to say it was a great experience and if you get a chance to try the place go for it..... oh yeah this place does not take reservations unless you have a party of 6 or more. Something to remember if your going on a busy night.

In terms of atmosphere it can get pretty loud. Children were yelling. Also we tried calling the restaurant several times but nobody would pick up. However, despite these deficiencies the food is quite delectable. My one complaint about the lobster ravioli is that they put the garlic bread right on top and it got soggy. I would have liked it on the side. *Edit: The clam chowder is very creamy and delicious.

Service was great. Nice ambience. Lobster chewy, tough, tasteless. If you claim to have fresh lobster in a tank then learn to cook them or don't par boil them. Not sure what you did but it's not supposed to have the texture of gum. Too bad too. I was really thinking this is lobster country!! They can't mess this up. Also had corn and fried potatoes. Potatoes were good but the corn on the cob obviously sat in a steamer tray too long. Kernels were all flattened out. Grilled asparagus was not bad at all. Over all it's a shame when you drive 300 miles and can't wait to get really good local lobster it tastes the same as it does at Red Lobster. Yuck.

My best friend is a bit on the picky side when it comes to food so we had to find somewhere with food she'd eat. Not a bad place to settle on. I ordered the teriyaki wings and the steak salad. The wings came out with the main course and they ended up being not what I ordered. They were a mix of hot and teriyaki, and surprisingly good. I sent them back though because I'd planned to share and no one else would eat the mix. I wish I'd stuck with that though because the plain teriyaki wasn't nearly as good. My steak salad on the other hand was delicious. Steak was cooked well and the lettuce was fresh as were the other ingredients. . Nice server who was able to split our check 3 ways without a problem. Not a bad restaurant.

Very good and priced right in a area where the prices in most restaurants are on the high side. Caesar Lobster salad was delicious, wifes Nachos were very good, mixed drinks were strong and tasty, service was friendly and fast, and the interior fit the name. Next time in Edgartown, we'll definitely be back.

Why there is a line here I have no idea. Nothing about this place feels Vineyard-y... even the people inside, you get your fair share of meatheads... felt more like being in the city than on the Vineyard. A 5 dollar cover is fine, no big deal but the sweaty hot crowd on the dance floor in crazy -- get some AC in this joint! And this was on a cool night so I can only imagine it in the heat of summer/August. Getting a drink was next to impossible... had to go to the make shift temporary bar in the middle and drink a beer which i had to wait 15 min for.. and i hate beer. Bottles all over the dance floor - people kicking them aside etc. REALLY GOOD BAND ON A FRIDAY NIGHT if that counts for anything. Great covers and dancing if you dont mind sweating. Bathroom is ONE STALL. Pee before you go!

Great place! The chowder fries were delicious (there's green onions, bacon, and potatoes that somewhat mask the clam flavor, making it appetizing to seafood lovers and haters alike). I had an angus linguica (pronounced Lin-gwee-sa) burger, and the fries were delicious. The fried pickles are good too.

Just finished eating here, and I do not agree with only giving this place 3.5 stars. I had a wedge salad n the Reuben sandwich with fries. I have never found a place that makes Reuben's better than me and this place may take the cake! Fabulous! The fries were yummy, as well. My only complaint...no mt dew.

This was our first time in Martha's Vineyard and we decided to stop in for lunch and cocktails. The drinks were very good and there was no complaints about the full meals we received either however there was 2 orders of shrimp cocktail placed neither of which came with cocktail sauce. When requested they apologized that they had forgotten and came back 5 minutes later stating they ran out. Next we ordered a side of grilled shrimp and another glass of wine for our meal. The shrimp was in place of the cocktail shrimp for a salad topper after 15 minutes of placing neither request came and we were already finished with our meal. We ask to for go the shrimp and the wine paid and left. On a side note our waitress comped the food we did not receive and the shrimp cocktail we sent back untouched. However we will not be returning.

The wharf is kinda awesome. It has a pub side which is usually quite busy, and a restaurant side which is much bigger. I have had wings, clam chowder, a Reuben, fish and chips, and the tomato mozzarella panini. All of the meals I have had were 5/5 what I expected, even a little more beautiful. The bartenders and waitresses I've had were all jolly and helpful humans. We've been going once a week, and since it's winter season now, there really isn't many other options in edgartown. I'm okay with that. Prices are a little high for seafood entrees but it's Martha's Vineyard after all. Obama comes here to hit golf balls with his body guards. Will go again.

Went to the Wharf for a date night a couple weeks ago for the first time. We got the artichoke & spinach dip to start - not the best I've ever had, but not bad. I got the NY Strip and my boyfriend got a panini. Steak was absolutely amazing, cooked and seasoned perfectly - and my boyfriend enjoyed his panini very much. A little pricey, but a very good dinner over all.

The Wharf had excellent, fresh mussels. The seafood linguini was also very good. The Reuben sandwich was good. French fries were just fine. If I could make a recommendation, it would be in the beer selection. I had a Boston brewed Harpoon IPA that was awful. This beer is weak, not hoppy and tastes lousy. With so many excellent IPAs available these days, a PUB should have a couple decent ones to chose from. I turned my beer in for a Sierra Nevada Pale Ale, which was not an IPA but had more flavor, was more hoppy and malty. The waitress did not offer to take the bad beer off my bill but I think she was perhaps new and did not think to offer. I would recommend Shipyard Monkey Fist or Dogfish Head 90 minute as two East Coast IPAs that are respectable. My wife ordered Guinness. You can never go wrong with Guinness!

Chowder was good. Rest of the food was ok. Pricey, but most places here are and they are not over priced. Service could have been better. We did have fun watching people from the front walking by that killed the time while we waited.

I was shocked to see that this place doesn't have a higher rating! A group of friends and I came here for lunch and were beyond impressed. We were seated right away and everyone on the staff was extremely friendly. To start, we got the chowder fries as an appetizer. How can I even describe these?! They are heaven on earth. If you go, don't hesitate... get them. For my meal, I ordered the fresh mozarella panini. It was also unreal! There was no shortage of mozzarella and the pesto pulled it all together. I also got the pasta salad instead of fries... this was also excellent. My friends got the linguica burger and scallops, and everyone cleaned their plate. I rarely ever write Yelp reviews, but I knew I had to leave one for the Wharf. I wish I had this restaurant at home! This place will be a must every time I am back on the island.

Sitting here right now. Slow night. Service is horrible., Steak salad was tough. Not cooked the way it was ordered. My only guess is it's off season now and perhaps they don't feel the need to be on their game. There were seven in our party and the gratuity added in came to $35.00. There is no way our server deserved half that amount .

hit or miss over the years - once had the best chowder on the island, last year it was inedible- literally a bowl of bacon grease mixed with chowder, yuck.

This place is a solid pick for a beer and some wings. The wings were actually prepared exactly as I like them...very crispy and not at all soggy. I sat at the back bar and the bartender was awesome and chatted to us about fishing. Great spot to kick it with some bar food. Yum.

Yikes! I hate giving this place a bad review as it feels like home for me. I worked here for years when I was younger and many of my friends still bartend here. This review is based solely on the restaurant. Our food has ALWAYS been good, quality food however the past few times we've gone it has been horrible. Cold, overpriced, joke worthy portioned food is what it's come down to. The two stars are given because it suits having two young children with you. Head to The News for a better meal!

  • Sue H.

Went again on our most recent visit. Don't be dismayed by the star rating. When reading through the reviews, it seems like the poor ratings come from people who were looking for a nightclub, rather than a dining experience. The food here is excellent, as are the drinks. If you are looking for a good meal, and not specifically night life, this place is a must!

The lobster bisque was creamy and blissfully great but the spicy shrimp was forgettable. Given how close to the ocean this place is located, it's unfortunate that they don't have an ocean view.

I loved this place! The husband and I came here for lunch to refuel after biking from Oak Bluffs. The location is perfect as it's right on Main Street where everything is. The atmosphere seems like what I would expect a place called the Wharf to look like. Cozy, dimly lit, darker furniture. And it was nice and busy. A lot of people like to complain when a restaurant is busy (i.e. too loud, slow service) but I love it. It means the place is doing its job. I ordered the fish and chips and the hubs ordered a turkey sandwich. My fish and chips were awesome! The fish was clearly fresh and the outside was perfectly crunchy. I'm not sure what they are using for the batter but it's working. The hubs really enjoyed his turkey sandwich too. Our server was young and obviously this was a summer job for her but she was friendly and very knowledgeable about the menu as well as the local beer. Something I'd like to highlight: One of the things I generally observe when I'm in a restaurant is how well the staff gets along with each other and if they seem like they enjoy being there. What I saw here was impressive. Although it was busy, all of the servers, hostesses were smiling, not only with their tables, but also laughing with each other. I also saw the general manager serving food (ours included) and laughing with customers. This level of enjoyment and teamwork is something most restaurants overlook, as it doesn't seem to be a priority for them. But believe me we notice, and the Wharf, with it's overall friendly atmosphere, created an environment that made me feel relaxed, comfortable, and very happy. Great job to the owners/manager who I consider responsible for that.

Four of us ate here on a Monday night. The pub side was slammed, but the restaurant was docile. Cozy setting with wood paneled walls, comfortable booths, and low lighting. Tried the Wachusett Blueberry ale and my friend and I were not really fans. It was very light with almost no flavor aside from the small blueberries floating within it. Perhaps refreshing on a hot day. They were unfortunately out of our other beer selection, and our waitress took so long to return that we ended up forgoing ordering any other beverages. The food was decent. Lengthy menu with plenty of options from pastas to burgers to salads. The chowder fries were a big hit at our table, though to me it looked a soggy mess. Yes, it's just what it sounds like - fries smothered in clam chowdah! The veggie wrap was average. The scallops were done well. I don't recall what else we ordered. Nothing exciting, but it was all fair to good.

This is a great place for an early light dinner. It gets crazy busy later according to others waiting for a table. The waitress was very nice and attentive. We had two glasses of wine, two salads and two appetizers. Everything was very delicious especially the coconut shrimp!

By island standards, The Wharf is a gem. What do I mean? If I were in DC, I wouldn't seek it out - it's a bit loud (especially the back room, especially when a Red Sox game is on and Bostonians are cheering non-stop), and a bit dark, and like many places in the summer, the waitstaff consists of slightly stressed teenagers doing their best to make some money. But on MV, it's amazing to find a place where there is something for everyone- burgers, sandwiches, pasta, fish, lobster rolls, fries, salads - and where all of it is well prepared, tasty, and reasonably priced. The only thing to hold in mind is that they clear the back room at 10pm on most evenings for karaoke or music, so if you head in for a late meal, and you're seated in that back room, it's likely you'll be hurried through your meal.

Awesome steak!! Ended up here when looking for a family friendly place to eat. Wasn't sure if a "pub type" atmosphere was good but it was actually decent for kids. Had lots of room for large families, kids menus, and the food came really fast. Price was reasonable, portions are generous to share. A must stop here on the island.

Came here because we were looking for a good place to do karaoke for labor day - what a waste of our time and money! The DJ was horrible. It was Gong karaoke. OK. That's cool. However, you should still let people go up so you can gong them off.... there was a good 5 minutes between every performance because he didn't know enough to have things lined up ahead of time. And THEN he was too picky and wouldn't let anyone go up there and sing because the dozens of songs he received "all sucked." We had 6 people in our group and the multiple slips that everyone put in to try to appease his 'dance only after 11' requests got thrown out. Not to mention there was feedback EVERY TIME he was holding the mic. That guy needs to figure out how to work an audio system. What a wreck. I'm sure the food and service on that end is great (the bartender seemed to make it through the crowds pretty quickly, so kudos to him), but I would never go back for a nightlife scene.

Really good service , but just-average food . I had the fried bay scallops. Portion of scallops was relatively small but served on top of a ridiculous heap of fries to fill the plate. They were nothing special but the coleslaw was pretty good - sweet enough and had a "kick" to it. My boyfriend had the clam chowder , which was pretty creamy but tasted smokier than I like . Also a ceasar salad with salmon which was a good portion. It wasn't bad place but considering all the options in the area, I probably wouldn't go again.

This was the perfect place to grab lunch on Martha's Vineyard. It is located right in downtown Edgartown, next to the famous Black Dog general store. Our large party was seated right away on a Monday afternoon, but I could see how this place would get busy on weekends. Service was great. Our waiter was friendly and on top of things thoughout our meal: refilling drinks without being asked, checking in, etc. The atmosphere is your standard island casual with fishing paraphanalia lining the walls. The wood bar is beautiful. Our booth and table was clean, as were the sky-lit bathrooms. Lastly, the food was excellent. I ordered the Fried Shrimp Po'Boy with small fried shrimp, lettuce, tomato, red onion and creole aioli -- which added just enough kick to make it interesting. I chose the fries as my side, which was a good choice; the alternative was potato chips -- which were homemade by not crisp enough -- or cole slaw -- which I didn't try, but looked good. The price was reasonable as well -- not cheap, but a good value. I stole a taste of the New England clam chowder and immediately regretted not ordering a cup. It might be one of the best I have ever had. There is a wide selection of appetizers, salads, sandwiches, seafood and entrees here -- truly something for everyone. I noticed the calendar on our way in, and it looked like they have live music almost every night of the week on their back patio (which I wasn't able to find).

Food is very good. Outside gives impression that it might be a tourist trap but not the case. Pro - excellent clam chowder - lobster roll was very tasty Con - kids out of school and providing your table service - don't get me wrong they were actually very good but be prepared mentally that this isn't their usual job - leaky ceiling that was appropriately addressed, again not as much as a complaint as an FYI Overall Very solid 3 stars, it was just what I wanted for lunch.

We had a great night here..almost too good! I know my bf would say that this place is AMAZING and he's had so many memories here, but I'm writing about my experience. The drinks, band and dancing were great. The bartenders poured very very nice drinks (Long Islands were the choice of the evening) and we caught the last ferry back to Chappy because of it!
