Love the cellar! It feels like an underground speakeasy complete with great cocktails and killer burgers. You can also order from the menu from the main dining room.

This review is for the brick cellar bar. Overall: Overpriced, weird ambience Ambience: Dark, no windows. There is a loud DJ with a whole DJ box in the middle of the bar/ restaurant. There is a disco ball (no joke). When your paying these prices, I don't really want club music and disco lights. Food: Very good. I would give it 5/5. The burger menu downstairs is great. Price: Extremely overpriced. The website prices are inaccurate. A Manhattan is $23! They charged us for refills on our sodas, so 4 diet cokes = $15. They didn't even tell us they were charging us extra when they offered us refills, only saw it on the bill. Very cheap and not classy. Service: Nice and pleasant. Not worth the price or setting.

Despite some conflicting views from other yelpers..Atria Brick Cellar is outstanding. The ambiance is unbeatable. The burgers even better. The payday burger was the best I've had in years, topped with foie and slathered with truffle laden mayo. Dessert was again, amazing, try the chocolate lava cake and an espresso, you won't be sorry.

Fantastic food and delightful waitstaff. A must try while staying on Martha's Vineyard. Prosciutto wrapped freshly caught striped bass was wonderful. Best calamari I've had in a long while. Wok fried lobster is always a strong option. Will be back!! Brick Celler burger joint below Atria is also fantastic! Try the Frenchie burger, it's great!

Major disappointment. My family has been vacationing on MV for many years, and for as long as we can remember, we have loved coming to Atria. Not this time. Earlier in the week, we dined at the burger bar in the basement. It was just ok, not as good as in the past so we decided we would give it another try, this time, outside on the patio. My husband and I had the corn soup with lobster fritters. The soup was like a bowl of watered down milk with a hint of corn. We also had the duck spring rolls which were very mediocre. For our entrees, we both ordered the fish special, local cod wrapped in prosciutto. The fish was overcooked and the dish overall was unappealing. To add insult to injury, the prices are among the highest on the island. The bill came and we paid a whopping $230+tip for a below average meal. We won't be returning to our old favorite anytime soon. Sorry Atria, you've lost a loyal customer.

This review is strictly for my dining experience at the Brick Cellar: As soon as I finished my burger and fries, I wanted to do it over all over again. It is well worth the price tag, for those who think $20-25 is a lot for a burger. All their meat is ground in house and all the burgers are cooked to a perfect medium-rare. If you want it cooked more, you have to tell them. It's perfect, I wouldn't mess with the temperature. I had the Frenchy, which had St. Andres Cheese, Crispy Prosciutto, Arugala and Cabernet Roasted Onions all on the most buttery Brioche. Upgraded to the truffle fries too, of course. Strongly recommended. I love this place and I wish I frequented the Vineyard more often to be able to eat here again, as well as try the restaurant.

Atria is a great restaurant that offers two different settings and menus. On The main floor the restaurant is formal. On the Tavern you have a selection of the most amazing and exquisite burgers on the Island. The good thing about sitting at the Tavern is that you can choose from both menus but the same does not happen if you sit on the main floor. Service is great and so is the atmosphere food is very good. I highly recommend the swordfish with mashed potatoes and the steak.

Came after a strong positive recommendation from a friend. The calamari appetizer was good. For an entree, I ordered the scallops, which were excessively salted. Probably just an off night, since I have heard great things otherwise.

We are in Edgartown for a week and one of the places we had dinner was here. The ambiance is quiet and minimal elegance. We took our 3 boys 15, 13 and 10. The menu is lovely. My boys had steak for dinner which was excellent. My husband had the Sea Bass and loved it. I had an amazing Angel Hair pasta dish that was delicious. Dessert menu was excellent. Gelato perfect. We had a house down the block so parking was a non issue. It's expensive but so is everything else here. This restaurant you do get what you pay for.

Excellent dining experience. Hubbie forgot formal clothes and neat casual dress was appropriate. Service A. Food and dessert A. I had scallops they were divine. My husband who is a bit of a lobster connessieur was blown away by their lobster specialty dish. Local and seasonal straw rhubarb dessert out of this world. Loved it all. Really splurged and got side of truffle fries- died and gone to heaven! Better than l'etoille, in our opinion.

Wonderful food, GIANT PORTIONS! This is an adorable restaurant that is in a house. The owners have a very whimsical approach to their restaurant which is reflected in the menu and signage around the space. We had: Spare Rib appetizer - delicious but huge - it also had too much garnish (it was piled high with chinese like noodles) Caesar salad - delicious and a normal size Scallops - delicious but a huge portion - it had roughly 5 large scallops on a bed of a cauliflower puree with sweet peas. It also had some sort of crunchy noodle on top. (the noodles were unnecessary). Tuna - delicious but enormous. Broccolini with garlic - delicious and a perfect size Parmesan truffle fries - with real truffles, not truffle oil. Delicious and huge (although I didn't mind.....) Vanilla Ice Cream - good Cobbler - good if a bit bland. The service was good. Where this restaurant fell short was the dessert selection, it was basic if not boring. Also, such large portions of high quality food, come at a high price. Give smaller portions (less waste, most people cannot finish such a large plate) and charge less money. The bathrooms were very clean.

This was my second visit for burgers in the Brick Cellar. First time a year and a half ago was great, possibly the best burger I had ever had. My husband and I came with our son to celebrate his 20th birthday. 4 glasses of wine and 3 burgers...$200. The wine a French Sauvignon Blanc was very good, it was a small pour and it was $20 a glass. My husband got the classic burger, it was somewhat over cooked and quite dry. He ate about half of it. Our son, got the Dante's Inferno Burger, he said it was pretty good. David LOVES hot spicy food, he said it had some spice, but was not the HEAT the menu suggested. I got the spicy Thai Shrimp Burger. It was almost inedible. The shrimp was ground so fine it had no texture what so ever and it was so dry that when I cut the burger in half the whole thing fell apart, it was really very unappealing dry and tasteless. So for $200 we got 4 small glasses of wine, 1 burger that was pretty good, one that was meh...dry and over cooked and one that was basically inedible. My husband and I where planning on making a reservation to celebrate our 25th Wedding Anniversary in the upstairs restaurant this coming September, I think not. This was really a very expensive disaster.

I am not really sure what all the hype was about. Sure they had really fresh ingridients, great service, nice atmosphere, and okay food. For the price I was paying I was looking for something amazing and breathtakingly good. This is a good place, but if you are looking for a wow meal try something not so old white people country club scene. Try Alchemy, right down the street.

Good Food, but Poor Service, on 1st Floor, The worst is the Arrogant Manager. We had dinner on the first floor for this 2014 Summer Season in May. Unlike the brick cellar's service in the basement, the summer staff at the 1st floor for more upscale dining was the worst in its category on the island so far in May- June 2014 compared to Salt Water, Alchemy, Chesca, State Road, etc. The server, although he was in his late 40s or early 50s, was not trained properly, as if it was his first day, without training. We didn't order wine but he would not even remove the extra sets of silverware and wine glasses. He did not know what type of beer they had. The appetizer was 45 min delayed, but the waiter did not even come and check with us until the hostess apologized after first 35 minutes. In fact, the hostess noticed the extra sets were sitting at the table and she herself removed those extra sets, finally. 10 minutes later, the appetizers arrived. But, next 10-12 minutes, other staff and the waiter brought the main dish again while we were still eating the appetizer and one of us did not even finish his salad. Again, this could have been avoided if the waiter came to check our table now and then. Although the main course arrived TOO early, the main course was not hot enough, they must have been sitting in the cold pantry table too long without the warmer. The main course did not taste as great as any other times we had before. I had ordered another beer, when he put the main dishes, but the waiter again forgot it totally until I was almost done with the food again, and I had to remind him again. That was another 20 minutes of delay. Totally offended by the waiter's service, who would not attend the tables at all, we decided to have the dessert somewhere else. But, again, this waiter showed little frown to us as if it was a rejection or disapproval. Now, it confirms that he was being arrogant and he could not hide it. And, on the way out, there was nobody at the station to leave the comment. ________________ Today, my dear summer resident friends have arrived and we would head out to Atria again, but, to avoid the bad service, we decided to book the basement - the Brick Cellar. After the booking, I took this opportunity to address the problem last time to the hostess. The manager was requested but not in yet, she said, and she suggested taking the message for the manager. She was apologetic and she would make sure it would be forwarded to the manager. Then, all of sudden, the young manager, Nathan, snatched the phone from her, and, he insisted I should repeat my complaint. And, he was already confrontational. I told him that I already had spoken to the hostess. He said, that should not be addressed to her but him, and, I told him that could be your additional training issue of your staff. No apologies, he further accused that why I was complaining about the past experience, after many several weeks later, and there was nothing he could do as my complaint was being made too late. He made me feel as if I had wanted the money back. That was utterly rude. Not only that, he suggested I should not come in tonight if I didn't like the restaurant. I said I was complaining about a waiter, not the restaurant, and I did not expect this over-defensive reaction from the manager, I told him. Again he flatly asked me if I would want to cancel the dinner there tonight, only to make me get more angry. I clearly said NO. We would be coming in. All along, he refused to apologize. I corrected him that no manager should ever accuse the guest for being poorly treated by their staff. And, I reminded him that there was nobody to speak to, as nobody was at the station before exiting. In fact, I reminded him we were making a reservation as regulars, today, and I wanted to comment on the areas where the service has to be improved. But, he would not apologize at all. ***And, he once again, said, "Are you sure you don't want to cancel the reservation?" just to annoy me one last time. Well, I hope the owners read this and properly apologize to me in person. As the other reviewer said, their waiting service is getting worse. They did have good servers before but they are replaced to these strange and poorly-trained waiters in 2014 Summer season. Not only that, Nathan, this arrogant young manager is acting like a bully. That explains the poor service. It is well-synchronized poor service, except for the good food. By saying this, I still hope their service match their kitchen's effort. Too bad, the owners are nowhere to be seen. Where are they?

Atria was the best dinner out on the vineyard this past weekend. To start, the service there is very elevated yet warm and family-like. Roc is one of the best servers I've encountered anywhere! Make sure to get the truffle fries with béarnaise dipping sauce - it was life changing. The Caesar salad is also not to be missed! For main, I had the special lamb roast medallions which was delicious. And to too everything off, chocolate molten cake with coffee ice cream. It was decadent but not too sweet. I love this place! They also serve lunch and host yoga in the morning. I'm guessing it's a service out of obligation for the delicious food they serve you. I kid.

Ate at the downstairs bar. Our barkeep Juliette was a great help and provided super service. And was extremely attractive. The ahi tuna app melted in your mouth. The heirloom tomato salad had the best Buratta cheese i have ever had. 2lb fried lobster was to die for! Great work Juliette you made my evening a blast sorry i left your bar so messy!

I know many people love this place, but personally I think the food is pretty, but mediocre and very overpriced. The first time I ate there I had their turkey burger which was dry and tasteless. It was served with french fries that resembled Durkee potato sticks and tasted about the same. Got talked into going again and tried the fish tacos ($15). They were two tiny tacos served with a teaspoon of guacamole and a teaspoon of sour cream. The presentation was quite nice, but the actual tacos each had a small piece of fried fish in the bottom that was not at all crisp and, frankly, had little taste. However, the chipotle sauce had plenty of flavor...unfortunately, it wasn't good. We had a side of onion rings that were also greasy and soggy and were very reminiscent of the rings you get at a Burger King. I know my friends enjoyed their burgers...so I guess that's the item to have especially on Sunday when they're two for the price of one (burgers are $18 and up). I think you can do a lot better than the basement at Atria, but I may be in the minority. Service was good, and they automatically add a 20% gratuity on to all tabs (even a tablet of 4). My suggestion: For onion rings go to the Newes. They're far better and for a fish taco go to The Square Rigger.

If you are in Edgartown/Martha's Vineyard, do yourself an experiential favor and make a reservation for dinner in the brick cellar downstairs. Dim lighting, exposed brick, and photography on walls create a unique ambiance. The front yard has a lovely swing hanging from a tree. The area itself is a beautiful and picturesque New England experience. Most importantly, I would describe the food as gourmet. The creatively concocted lobster tacos were the best I've ever had. The rare ahi tuna appetizer was coupled with delicious sea greens and crispy seaweed (I didn't like seaweed until now). The shrimp burger was a similarly memorable dish. Who knew you could even get a shrimp patty?

Absolutely the BEST burgers on the island. I can't speak for the rest of the menu because the burgers are so delicious I end up ordering the same thing every time I go. Nice atmosphere downstairs, great drinks (pineapple mojito!), amazing burgers.. I guess my only compliant would be the parking. But who cares.. walk the extra bit to work off that burger. Mmmm :)

Awesome! Pork dumplings were incredible. I had the NY strip. I frequent Abe and Louis and Grill 23 and this steak holds up. Awesome. Cooked to perfection. Wife had the ahi tuna and Caesar. Only reason I'm not giving it a 5 is because they didn't have white anchovies or potato vodka. Love this place!

We had a most unfortunate experience with Atria, brick cellar. We had a reservation for 8 people at 9pm. 2 of us arrived early at 8:15 pm to get a drink at the outside bar. 2 drinks took 30 minutes to arrive. The outside bartender was very pleasant, however it was very obvious she was overextended and they were understaffed. Meanwhile, the rest of the party checked in. They were rudely told by the hostesses that the reservation was for 9:15. We clearly made the reservation for 9PM, but 15 minutes doesn't seem so bad, so no big deal. Wrong. 30 minutes later, we were finally sat. The cellar was extremely warm and sticky. Our waitress was attentive at first. We ordered drinks and a few appetizers straight away. They all came quickly. We all ordered burgers. All 8 of us. 45 minutes after our appetizers arrived, we still had no waitress or burgers. It seemed the entire staff had gone missing. At this point it was about 10:30 PM, and we were all a bit hangry to say the least. We finally found someone, and they put in a request for our food. Minutes later our food arrived. Luke warm and some food tasted like it had been sitting under the heat lamp for 30 minutes. It did not taste fresh, whatsoever. I personally sent my burger back as it was somehow both overdone and raw. It was like a chewy and tough mush patty. The manager came over to both apologize and insult me at the same time. I apologized for sending back my burger, and he then went on to tell me that is how the burgers are cooked. Cheeseburgers are by far my favorite food. If Atria thinks that my burger is how burgers are cooked, they should probably work for McDonalds. There were 2 gentlemen who were extremely nice and came over to apologize. I think they were our bus boy and another server. I feel badly that they work at such an awful place. Our waitress never came back. In the end, the 2 people that paid for the meal asked to talk to the manager. They were told, in yet another aloof and condescendingly manner, that there was "nothing he could do" and to try again when we are back next year, and "maybe we can do something then". I'm appalled and embarrassed for this restaurant. We went on to have lovely meals at The Newes and The Atlantic. Skip this place. Unless of course you like dry mushy burgers and rude service and waiting a LONG time.

My favorite restaurant in Martha's Vineyard. If possible, ask for a table by the window instead of in the main room. We love that this place feels like you're eating in someone's home. I have gotten the fried lobster both times we have gone and loved it. We had the tuna sashimi appetizer the other night and it was delicious. Wait staff is super friendly. Wish they had more creative desserts but otherwise this place gets a solid 5/5 from me!

I might have had the best meal of my life, outside of my grandmother's kitchen, here at Atria. I started off with the heirloom and burrata salad which provided some of THE most flavorable mozzarella and tomatoes that this vagabond has ever had. Then, I moved on to the course that sold me. I had the pleasure of splitting the Fast Eddy and Mother Clucker with my friend. The Fast Eddy offered a flavorful seared beef with the beauty and subtly of the wonder vegetable that is avocado. The fried egg is not only the cherry on top, it is the the whipped cream and hot fudge as well. The Mother Clucker. I am half southern, a partial Good-Ole-Boy from North Carolina and that might have been the best fried chicken and most surprising pimento cheese these taste buds have ever had the pleasure of crossing these lips. My "Death Row Meal" may now include this wonderful partnership of golden fried chicken, bright slaw, and sharp pimento cheese. The truffle fries I split with my friend not only gilded the lily, it also bronzed the rose and golden clad the iris. If I lived on the Vineyard I would eat here 3 days a week. My bank account and waistline both thank me for living a 2-hour drive and ferry ride away from here. Thank you Atria Brick Cellar for a wonderful night and screw you for the 8 mile run on Monday.

This is our second time at Atria in the cellar. Both experiences were wonderful. The hamburgers are excellent and decadent. I had the Frenchy with the foie Gras. Don't miss out on the truffle fries and the molten chocolate cake. The kids menu is standard. The staff was wonderful with my 3yr old and super attentive with us overall. A truly great experience and excellent food.

We are regulars to Edgartown visiting almost every weekend from May to October. We have gone to Atria several times and love the food and the atmosphere. So when we decided to get married that's where we wanted to do it. The owner doesn't have any idea how to plan events let alone a wedding. She refused to talk on the phone and only dealt with us through email. Communication was terrible to say the least. They could not accommodate us for a walk through when we where delayed getting to the island. The bride had to set things up before the wedding getting no help from staff. The room that was provided for my bride to get ready in was having new blinds put up, one of the workers even hit in her. All of there stuff was then moved and piled up in a office because of another event. The owner was present and even some guests commented "who is that lady walking around doing nothing ". The head table was served last, the grooms meal was wrong. The worst part is we had to pay a large sum of money for her to orchestrate nothing. The room did look awesome and the food was excellent. To sum it up don't plan a event here, the kitchen is 5 star, front of the house and owner are 2 star.

Can't wait to go back here when we return to the vineyard in the fall. We went upstairs, but we've been downstairs too and that's also fun, albeit a totally different animal than upstairs. Everything is top notch here: food, wine and service. Make a reservation and go!

We had dinner downstairs at the Brick Cellar this past weekend. Sat in the bar and area and waited 15 minutes for someone to come over and ask us if we were all set. While waiting, we overheard the bartender say to another patron they had William Hill Chardonnay by the glass and when we ordered the wine - a glass of red and a glass of the William Hill the waitress seemed totally confused and informed us they didn't sell that by the glass. We told her that we overheard the bartender tell someone else that they had William Hill by the glass - our waitress told us she would check and asked the bartender if they had William Hill by the glass and the bartender replied "just open another". After sometime waiting we we given menus and ordered a bottle of the red I was drinking. When the waitress finished pouring the red, she sat the bottle down on top of my wine glass and you guessed it - red wine everywhere. Hey accidents happen and I totally understand that. After assisting in the clean up of the wine and glass shards on the table she brought a new bottle to us. I then asked another waitress for some club soda to try to save my shirt from being permanently stained. She came right over with the club soda with some cocktail napkins. After a bit, our first waitress reappeared oblivious I was still cleaning my self up from my red wine bath and asked if we'd like to place our order. The burgers we ordered were very good although no one asked or seemed to care as we had to ask another wait staff member for some place settings . Upon getting the check we paid and left. After thinking about the entire experience I'd say just because you're one of the few places open in town, on island at this time of the year with a good product doesn't make you immune to your guests and their comfort. It would have been nice for someone on the staff (possibly the. manager??) to come over and make sure everything was okay and at least make the offer to pay for the dry cleaning bill I'm now going to incur.

Atria is a gem. Probably one of my top 10 restaurants. Everything we had [save for the dessert which didn't impress us much] was absolutely amazing. I'm not a big fan of lobster and my husband had the wok fried lobster... it was so delicious, I wanted to trade my plate for his. It was just SOO sooo good. I don't remember what dish I had but I know the lobster was just so amazing that I wanted to go back the next day and have that myself. Unfortunately we didn't get to go again but I would have definitely gone a second time. Our waiter was more than attentive, he was very friendly, funny, and we absolutely loved him. The atmosphere is very cozy and warm but sophisticated. The food is just fantastic here. Hopefully when I return to MV, this place is still around.

Great friendly service and a beautiful location in an old home surrounded by a very nice garden. My wife and I both had burgers. I had the Fast Eddy (topped with a sunny side up egg, avocado, american cheese, apple wood bacon and tomato). It was ok. My wife had the Frenchie Burger which had St. André cheese, arugula, crispy prosciutto and balsalmic onions. It was great! She said it was one of the best burgers she ever had.

This review is late as I visited in early summer 2012. This place was highly recommended for dinner by a friend and the hotel staff where we stayed, so we made sure to come by with reservations, as it was a weekend evening. I recall the atmosphere being fairly intimate, and we were seated on the main deck, although I recalled that there was an upper deck too, probably for large dinner parties. Food was excellent. I remember having the Kobe burger, as we had asked for the burger menu instead of the dinner menu since we had a late lunch and were too full for large main courses. The burger was excellent and the servers were kind enough to help us to plate half portions without any fuss. The evening was lovely and there was plenty of space between tables so it added to the intimate atmosphere and we didn't feel like we were boxed in, unlike a few other restaurants that we tried while visiting. Prices were fairly reasonable, at the level you would expect of a restaurant. Overall, we have full intentions of going back again - we spoke to the manager on the way out when she greeted us, and were told to call ahead if we came back in the fall as they host a lot of wedding parties. We are looking forward to coming back!

Went here to celebrate a birthday with 7 friends and had an amazing time. We chose to sit down in the bar area which I highly recommend. It has a great vibe and the burgers are incredible (I recommend the Fast Eddie Burger). They happened to have live music the night we were there (Saturday) which made it that much more fun. The staff are friendly and there service was great. Special shout out to our waiter Jared who was wonderful!

Nice spot! The owner of the Field Gallery recommended this place for drinks so we tried it. The bar was pretty packed the drinks were good. Their french fries with Parmesan cheese was very good and their Thai shrimp burger was also very good. Nice ambiance but the bartender was overwhelmed alittle it took awhile to get his attention to order but other then that everything was fine. I will definitely go back.

Great place for a nice dinner. Parking is tight so arrive early. The service was really good and they even took my cell phone to charge the battery. They have a more casual place and bar downstairs that serves burgers only and the burger menu looked great. We had salmon and halibut and tuna appetizer and all were delicious and well-prepared.

Burgers. Burgers. Burgers! Yes, Atria beautiful. Yes, it's the finest dining on the Vineyard. Yes, yes, yes. But those burgers, man.. they slay me. Especially The Classic. I feel no need to stray from this perfectly balanced, cooked and presented item: it simply doesn't get any better. Sure, I've been tempted by the heat of the jalapeno variety, the lure of the lamb... but I'm telling ya, with bernaise, mushrooms, and beef that is actually sexy, I have eyes only for the Classic. And perhaps, on occasion, the truffle fries. OMG. The cocktail menu is also something of a phenom. WIth perfectly mixed classics like Moscow Mules (renamed Menemsha, natch), Caipirinhas and effing awesome Sazaracs, I feel no need to drink elsewhere. Especially since they have right there one of the most knowledgeable, un-pretentious and friendly sommeliers I've ever met. He's a gem, glad to help and always very polite. Love. Go to Atria. Go for the beauty, go for the bar, but most especially go for the burgers!

A steep drop in service combined with a bad attitude and a decline in food quality take this off the top of my Vineyard restaurant list. I'm aware that they are now operating at least one more restaurant, so hopefully they've just taken their eye off the ball. Otoh, this could be the beginning of the end of the best place to have dinner on the island. It started when they messed up our reservation and then hassled us despite the fact they had tables to accommodate us. Our server in the basement bar area didn't know the menu, and whoever was mixing drinks that night didn't know how to make a single decent cocktail. After very mediocre appetizers, the only dinner we liked was the burgers. The fish and chicken entrees we ordered were all well below the quality we used to enjoy there. We'll give it one more try next summer, then it's off the list.

This review is for Atria Grill - the downstairs "pub" that is known for its burgers. We've always dined upstairs in the upscale dining room and loved it, but decided to give the burgers a try downstairs. The area is dark and musty and, quite frankly, the burgers were disappointing. The fries were too salty. We'll stick to the fancier dining room upstairs, since the food there is never disappointing and the atmosphere more appealing and upscale.

First of all, lol at 'Joy S' over there who seems to be more interested in dropping the name of her quasi-successful mother-in-law than anything else. So you were expecting to walk in there on a red carpet because your M-i-L is some unknown tv producer on another continent? Anyway, back to reality, there's a reason why there are only a handful of negative reviews on here about Atria: it's a great place if you have normal expectations. Coming from NYC where there is no shortage of amazing food, I can say that Atria lives up to expectations each time I go. I didn't have an appetizer and I had the sea scallops for dinner, which were amazing and a really nice portion. Everything ordered at the table was fresh and hot and no one had any complaints. The wait staff could not have been friendlier, more polite, or more attentive. It's always a good option for a nice dinner on the island.

We ate in the basement which has very low ceilings with wooden beams and has a very intimate feel to it. He had a burger and swore it was one of the best he ever had. I had the duck confit quesadilla which was delicious. I also had a strawberry and rhubarb crumble with chai whipped cream which was yummy but not really a crumble, more like a shortcake. My only problem with Atria is the somewhat surly attitude of the hostess. When I told her we were going downstairs to the bar, she stated, "the tables are full" (or something like that). She could have instead said, "we have no tables available, but there is plenty of room at the bar." This is the kind of thing you say when you want business. Especially since there were two people at the bar when we went down there.

Arguably. the best food on the Vineyard unless you want to go to the Outermost Inn. I have never had a bad experience here. The atmosphere is inviting and friendly, although it can get very tense during August which is when all island restaurants are under a lot of pressure. The parking area here is capable of inducing a panic attack as people get very competitive and rude while jousting for a space. Take a cab, walk or park elsewhere if you can. I have seen two fender benders here. And the continued expectations that this should be a restaurant competing with the best in Manhattan is annoying. This is not New York. This is a small, rural island with a short tourist season. The chef features local food and has a magic touch with sauces. If you think you know sauces, you will think again as you experience the rich and flavorful ones here. I can recommend any freshly caught fish, local tomatoes and greens and humble vegetables that are freshly picked that morning. My friends and I love the intimate atmosphere in the brick bar downstairs where you feel like you are in a cozy tavern surrounded by friendly neighbors and new friends. I always bump into old buddies but also seem to strike up a friendship when I sit at the bar down here. There are cozy tables, too. Love it downstairs. Outstanding wine, friendly service and a professional staff make this place a destination for birthdays, joyful celebrations and reunions. When I celebrated big time this summer, we came here and were very glad we did!

I can't much say anything about anything but the burgers here. I have only been for the 2 for 1 burgers on Sunday multiple times in the basement area. Its so cozy to go in the winter and enjoy the most succulent burgers you have ever tasted. My favorite is the frenchy. So far, in my opinion its tied with the atlantic for the best burger on the island!

Service was not good. The waiter couldn't understand anything I said. Mind you, I have no accent other than perhaps a normal Californian one, if such a thing exists. Everything I said, he needed repeated and I found it very annoying. The food was good, not great. I tried a burger per another review that said it was the best on the island. I thought Alchemy's burger was better, but Atria definitely wins for best fries. I appreciated all of the variety of the burger menu, too. The wine selection was pretty decent. I really enjoyed my Sauvignon Blanc.

I have been holding off on this review for quite some time hoping that one of the 5 calls/messages I put in to the restaurant would be returned. On October 21st my wife and I made reservations at the Brick Cellar Bar. We were promptly seated upon arrival and were excited to start dinning. Unfortunately, things went south very quickly. Fifteen minutes passed before our server even spoke to us. When she did arrive, we ordered a round of cocktails, appetizer, the portabella sandwich and one of their signature burgers. This would be the last we would see of our server for at least the next 35 minutes. The drinks and food arrived via food runners. Our server never returned to the table to check on our food or experience. After 35 minutes, I asked one of the busboys/food runners if he could find our server so I could order another glass of scotch. He searched high and low and couldn't locate her and even came back and asked us if she had come by yet. After about 10 minutes, we both spotted her socializing on the other side of the restaurant. He then got her attention and she strolled over, visibly annoyed that we were in need of something. I ordered another glass of scotch ($25- $30) per glass. After about 5 minutes we noticed the bartender place the drink on the service bar for the server to pick up. Problem....our server is once again socializing instead of serving... At this point we are shocked and just wait and watch... My watered down glass of scotch ($25 -$30) arrives about 12 minutes later. At this point, I believe it was obvious to our server that we were clearly annoyed with our experience.... We asked for the check only to find that 20% gratuity had been added to a TABLE OF TWO. We found this absurd! Never in my thousands of dining experiences have I seen gratuity added to a table of two. We questioned this and were smugly told that due to a "half price burger" special (that we were unaware of), gratuity is automatically added. Our server claimed the computer couldn't be changed, smirked, and walked away. Our service certainly didn't warrant 20% so we looked for a manager but the restaurant appeared to be closing and there was no one to be found. As I mentioned earlier, I tried calling several times to discuss our experience but never received a return call. It was a shame that the service was so poor because the kitchen did everything they could to make sure we had an enjoyable experience. The food was great but it was overshadowed by some of the worst service and treatment I have ever experienced. We were shocked that this was allowed in an establishment that considers itself of the elite Vineyard restaurants. Based on our experience, this is not a restaurant I can recommend.

Very good with a few exceptions. We went during June, slower season..into the dark basement or dungeon because we wanted burgers. I asked "grass fed grass finished?"" I think so"I was told buy our waiter. had the truffle burger with truffle fries Med Rare of course. Was very good. Not expeptional but very good..theres is a difference. The people who sat next to us ruined it for us..a 4 top. They yelled , cursed and screamed atop of their lungs and we told the waiter and he offered to move us but in the middle of dinner? Other then that it was great. Truffle aioli with fries and burger goes so nice. If you go and want a burger its value for money. Loved it. Will go back just don't sit near A^^holes and you will be fine. Bars staff knowledgeable and engaging if you choose to sit there you may be better off since its very HOT in the basement room Right near the stop and shop at top of main in Edgartown. Good stuff. Go for it!

Dined at Atria with a party of 6 this weekend. One person in our group is vegan, so we called ahead to inquire whether the chef could accommodate him. We were informed and reassured that the restaurant was "very accommodating" to vegans. How disappointing, then to see what he was served for dinner while the rest of us enjoyed beautiful and delicious dinners (the swordfish was divine!). The vegan dish was nothing more than a bowl of sauced fresh vegees.....no rice, no beans, not a gram of protein or starch to be found. Shame on you....not so much for NOT being accommodating, but for failing to be truthful on the phone when we called ahead.

I have loved this place since it very first opened! The staff is accommodating, professional, and well informed. The restaurant itself is a splendid compilation of sophistication, comfort, and whimsy. I want to play in the front yard before dinner every time I see the tree swing! Speaking of dinner... I love roasted chicken. Roasted chicken would be my last meal. No, Atria's roasted chicken would be my last meal. That chicken is juicy, creamy, sexy on a plate! And momos ( Nepalese dumplings) on Martha's Vineyard?!?! This appetizer took me back to my days living in Berkeley where you can find things like Nepalese food and Himalayan festivals. How about a chia on the after dinner drink menu? My nephew is obsessed with their burgers. When he came to visit for Christmas he was desperate to find a way to hop the ferry, eat, and ferry back in three hours. Alas, no Atria Classic this trip. And now I'm hungry!

We walked around before deciding to eat here. Called and made reservations. Upon arrival we were immediately seated under the tent outside. Yes. It's a lovely venue. The wait staff was amazing. Friendly. Attentive. Not overly hovering. Food was great. Had scallops. Sooooo good. And the duck wasnt bad either. A truly enjoyable and pleasant experience. Please visit here.

Let me count the ways! Best lobster ever. Perfect staff that was friendly and provided excellent table service befitting its stature as one of the best restaurants on the island. Setting? Perfection. Know however that this is also one of the more expensive restaurants, but it is worth every dollar ( we are a bit past cents, smile).

This was an incredible dinning experience. We had nine of us for dinner. They accommodated us with a reservation earlier in the day. Almost impossible in Edgartown with the three day holiday approaching. We started with three starters calamari, lettuce cups and tuna. No specials were offered for the evening but the menu was extensive and offered all we wanted. We had five lobsters, two pig, pig, pigs, a chicken and a mussel plate. Every dish was perfectly prepared. We shared several desserts. Key lime, the cobbler, carrot cake and the best chocolate moultan cake. The wine list was the best in Edgartown and reasonable.

This was the best meal I have had in months. We started with an artichoke stuffed with St. Andrews cheese & bread crumbs. A great appetizer that had a wonderful balance of salty, crunchy, and savory. My wife had "Cod is Good, Cod is Great" a dish of cod wrapped in prosciutto, over a bed of couscous with lobster. It was a delicate dish that really complemented the cod, without overpowering it via the lobster or proscuitto. I had the babyback ribs with a cucumber-mojo sauce, lentils w/ slab bacon, and a greens w/ plantain chips. The entire thing was amazing. The ribs were very tender and the sauce had a mild sweet heat that was perfect. The lentils were so good, I wanted to fill an entire lake with them and then swim through it like Augustus Gloop in Charlie and the Chocolate Factory. The entire dinner was wonderful and the menu has a really interesting mix of traditional Vineyard fare (lobster, cod, NY strip) done with creative, almost playful, recipes. We're going back here next time we get to Martha's Vineyard.

This review is for the burgers and brew menu. Atmosphere - upstairs / downstairs After a long day of biking in the sun, we felt like a delicious but low key dinner. Atria is an upscale restaurant that also has a "burgers and brew menu". We wanted to order off the later, so we were seated in the downstairs tavern. I would guess this is often a fun and lively space, but on a beautiful late June weeknight it felt dreary and empty. We moved upstairs to the front room by the window, which was just great (not sure if they usually would let you order off of the more casual menu upstairs on a busy night, but it's worth asking.) I would highly recommend the upstairs for a more quiet and relaxing dinner on a nice evening. Service Our primary waiter was in training but was still very solid. The more experienced waiter brought a sample of a beer I hadn't heard of and split our shared salad appetizer. Nice touches and attentive service. Food The blueberry and hazelnut salad was a nice starter. The burgers were amazing, and worth the upper teen price. My shrimp burger was unique and perfectly seasoned with fresh summer flavors. My boyfriend ordered a more classic beef burger, which was very flavorful and had great toppings. Both were served on good buns with addictive shoestring fries. I will definitely visit again Atria on my next trip.

Went to the Brick Cellar bar on a Sunday night. We found 2 seats at the bar right away. The bartender looked annoyed. While we waited for service we found out that PBR cans are $3 and it was 2 for 1 burger night. We ordered up both......she looked even more annoyed. The burgers were excellent. Not the best I've had but excellent. They should be for $19 each.....glad we found out it was 2 for 1 night! I drank my first PBR with my burger and ordered another. While waiting 5 or so minutes for it to arrive, the bartender's friends arrived. 2 sat next to us and 2 sat at a 2 top table behind us. One of them announced that they would be eating but would wait until we left so they could all sit at the bar. My 2nd PBR was full. The bartender threw our check on the bar, and said "I'll take that when you're ready, tip is included on Sunday nights." I totally understand the tip part. I gave her $40 cash for a $36.50 tab and she gave me $3 back. I was so annoyed at this point that we just walked out. So, they owe me 50 cents and Miss attitude bartender made sure that I wrote this review and that we'll never go back!!!! Imagine how she'll be once season starts!

the new bar menu, under the 'burgers and brews' is fantastic! more elegant than the name suggests, but delicious and inventive. Great service, cozy atmosphere. i like it when the server has an opinion on the food, and his recommendation was spot on. I had his recommendation, the spicy thai shrimp burger. a little heat, a lot of shrimp, a homemade bun, all good. My friend had the burger with sunny side up egg...perfect! she is a real carnivore and protein addict, so not only delicious but fits the bill. i wish i knew both came with perfect shoestring potatoes, way too much food but we finished our burgers bz they were so good. we had gone in thinking it was overpriced (per the menu posted that failed to mentions sides), but came out looking forward to returning. next time i would order a bottle of wine, way better priced than by the glass and an excellent, long interesting list.

Absolutely Amazing! The food was incredible - there was 2 of us and we split the beef carpaccio and the seared ahi tuna to start. Both were so delicious my mouth is still watering at the thought! I had the oven roasted chicken with Gorgonzola & spinach for my entree and it was incredible! I never usually order chicken but I'm so happy I did. My boyfriend had the Striped Bass which was also very good (although not as amazing as my chicken!) Our server was super friendly and made some great recommendations for wine & food and I'm happy to say that his "go with your first instinct" was great advice. We also had a cute table next to a window which made the dinner very romantic. I can't say enough good things about this resturaunt. Everything was fantastic and I was more than impressed! Perfect place to have an anniversary dinner!

I had dinner at Atria with some friends Thursday evening (7/8/10) and it was a great dining experience. My party had dinner reservations for 7:45 and I arrived about twenty minutes early. (I hate being late) The maître d was very friendly and professional and offered to seat me at the downstairs lounge/bar while waiting for my party. Once everyone arrived and was seated the staff was attentive and fast considering the place was full and it was the dinner hour. I started off with their garden salad which was crisp, fresh and tasty. The vinaigrette dressing was light and not over powering. For a entree I ordered the "Serious steak". an incredibly tender 10 ounce fillet served with a mashed potatoes and a mixed greens side. The only thing that I would have them improve would be the mashed potatoes. They were way too salty but other than that everything was great. The dinner menu on the website is slightly different than the in house menu but the quality of the food is top notch. If you are looking for a adult evening out for dinner while in Edgartown make reservations at Atria. If it's two for dinner make sure to ask for a window table.

The food was fantastic, they did a spectacular job with my friends' wedding! Loved the atmosphere too! I can agree that the portions varied. We were all served the same salad and my friend had tons of blueberries and 3 hazelnuts, and I had tons of hazelnuts and only 3 blueberries. Serving such a big group though I can be more understanding unlike the guy reviewing before me. I wouldn't say the service was bad, but as I was mingling I did notice one person didn't smile back when I passed them. Everyone there for the wedding was friendly so it stood out as odd. Turned out the person with no return smile was the manager/owner... maybe something horrible was going down and she had no time for courtesy, in which case I am fine with that. As far as this guest is concerned everything went off without a hitch!

My husband and I went here for our anniversary dinner while vacationing in Martha's Vineyard. While our experience was okay, I was expecting a little something more. First of all when we arrived, we were seated in the sunroom-like area in the front, which had a beautiful view but was a little warm. Upon reaching our table, we noticed there were flies and several of those flying ant things all over the windows in the room and next to our table. Now I may be a little phobic of any kind of flying insect, but I'm assuming that might be a turn-off for most people. When I mentioned it to our server, he sort of scoffed and acted like I was an idiot to care about something like that (umm hello, bugs?! flying all around me while I'm paying for an EXPENSIVE meal?!), and proceeded to try to smack the insects with the towel he carried on his belt. Hmm... Our server was generally not very friendly during our meal and the staff in general seemed unprofessional and border-line rude. When we received our food, we were a little underwhelmed by both the portion size and the taste for the price. My husband ordered the NY Strip Steak and I ordered the Short Ribs and Seared Scallops. My husband said his steak was okay... just average and a bit overcooked. But my short ribs... for $36 I was expecting more than four 1x1 inch cubes (yes, that's correct) of short ribs. It really was that meager, I wish I were exaggerating. The scallops were good, but overall it wasn't worth the money. Yes, I know Martha's Vineyard is pricey, we knew what we would pay going into it. But what we got for our money was a bit disappointing. I can't say anything about the brick cellar that everyone's talking about, but I almost wish we had done that instead since their burger menu looked amazing. Bottom line: I can't recommend this in light of all the other wonderful restaurants in MV where we found better food, value, and more appreciative staff.

I was underwhelmed with my Atria experience... Perhaps it was the Monday off season/first day of fall/maybe the chef isn't cooking experience. My wife and I decided to eat here on the first night of our honeymoon. We were seated immediately in the corner. The ambiance was great and complete with soothing water fountain etc. We were first offered bred to start. The bread was cold, the dip was simply olive oil. Decent, but the bread left a little to be desired. Next we opted for the house red wine. The waitress brought over the decanter and proceeded to pour the wine. The decanter had a hole in it and the wine spilled everywhere... luckily missing us. After some clean up we go our app - wok seared calamari with some sort of aoli. The app was great. Dinner was ehh. I chose the "serious steak" a $42 12 ounce steak with pomme frites and some island greens. The steak though tender didn't justify the price. The wife ordered prosciutto wrapped cod with lobster whipped mashed potatoes. The cod was decent but again didn't warrant the $35+ price. For dessert I had the molten chocolate lava cake with cappuccino ice cream. It was excellent, but i think it is hard to mess up. All in all decent, but not definitely not on par with Mistral or the like.

Just booked my flight to Martha's Vineyard for June and already want to make my reservation for Atria during our visit. We had the most delicious dinner last summer as we sat on the charming wrap-around patio. Service was relaxed and professional and my halibut was D-licious! My honey got the steak and was in heaven. The restaurant is in one huge house that is decorated so beautifully. Secret tid-bit about Atria, they did a burger night (I think it was a Friday happy hour thing) in their downstairs lounge that almost feels like a speakeasy...all brick and sexy with gorgeous lighting.

Based on the reviews, we decided to try Atria. Had to dine early as we made a last minute reservation and that is all we could get. Place was quite empty, though was busy by the time we left. We had to try the fried calamari - besides liking it, it had received great comments. It was very tasty when it came out, but as it cooled, it was sort of greasy....so eat this appetizer quickly to truly enjoy it. We all order different entrees - lamb chops, scallops and the fried lobster. All were delicious. My complaint and it is a medium big one, is that the lobster comes in the shell and it s ungodly mess to eat - to the point that it detracts from the experiece. I asked the waitrress if it could be taken out of shell (after being presented) and she just shrugged and brought me more napkins. Dessert was tasty, but was the standard chocolate molten cake....ho hum.

Have dined here a number of times over the last five years and it always is good. This year it was fantastic. I don't know if they have upped their game or it was just a particularly good night but it was enough to spur me to write this review.

This was one of the greatest disappointments I have ever experienced in a restaurant. The appetizers came out, and the portions were huge, and were decent. Nothing inventive, new, or to order again. It was the entrees that ruined it for all four of us. As a former chef of a best of Boston restaurant I know my seafood. When my wife and I got our striped bass there were 4 things that appalled me right off the bat: 1. We had different plates with different plating and different amounts of food on our plates for the same dish at the same table!!! 2. There were slices of heirloom tomato on the dist. my wife had 4 large slices, and I had 2 small slices. to add insult to injury we both had the bottom of a tomoato.....a section that is never served unless you are at TGI Friday's on a bad day!!! 3. The lobster on the plate....I had a dozen pieces, and my wife had only 2 pieces of lobster, and her plate was literally twice the size of my plate. This made her dish look even more pathetic. 4. The portion size was anemic at best. I know my fish, and striped bass is my favorite. I have personally portioned hundreds of pounds of this species. The portions were 4 ounces at best, and for $38 this is more ridiculous than a beer and hot dog at Fenway Park After the initial shock I was disappointed even further. The two other people at the table had a $32 swordfish dish. They had about 6-7 ounces of fish, cold mashed potatoes, and an unappetizing mix of greens hiding the entire dish. This was also a disappointing plate. My wife had cold mashed potatoes and room temperature fish. I had cold mashed potatoes and an overcooked bass flavored piece of jerky. I sent it back (I send food back about once every other year at most). They brought me the scallops instead. Theses were decent, but once again I was embarrassed for the kitchen. The scallops had been seared only on one side. From personal experience I know that they simply threw the scallops on the pan and tossed the whole thing in the oven. The scallops were good, but the rest of the dish seemed to be constructed as though some cook walked into the kitchen and picked out a bunch of ingredients and threw them together with no concern about balancing flavors and using complimentary flavors to allow such a beautiful ingredient as scallops shine to their full potential. If you want to pay a ton of money for mediocre service, amazing decor & atmosphere, food that is pretty for the most part, and could care less about having small portions that have been half-assed onto a plate by a bunch of hack-cooks go make a reservation, or you could find any other restaurant on the Vineyard instead.

Absolutely loved it! This was our best dining experience on the island. We were told that we should try the basement of Atria as opposed to the posh upstairs dining area. We were told the burger were great (there are some very unique offerings). When we got to the basement we immediately ordered a Cab and a Malbec because we just knew we were going to order burgers. Well the wine was good, but we decided to go for seafood. I had the wok fried lobster which was EXCELLENT. They put a little tempura like batter and fry the lobster just long enough to just cook the meat. It is not overdone at all. The food was great and so was the service. Definitely try it out.

Overall, kind of underwhelming. The food was solid. Service was really bad...our waitor was non-existent and the hostess seemed to have smoked a bag of weed the size of a jeep. The ambiance is a little like your Nana's dining room. Not worth the price at all. Try the beer & burger bar in the cellar. Much better.

Atria is one of our favorite places to eat on the vineyard. The restaurant is beautiful and so are the grounds. We have yet to have a bad meal here. Some tips: - If looking for a more casual experience, eat at the bar, downstairs. - Also, if unable to get a reservation come early and eat at the bar. - One of our favorite dishes is the Pig, Pig, Pig meal. - Embrace the fries, anything with Parmesan and truffle oil can't be bad. Enjoy! You won't be disappointed..

No change here, still one of our top 5 restaurants anywhere. The peanut oil wok fried 2 pound lobster is terrific, so is the halibut and the tuna appetizer. The porch is the best venue for dining, although the main dining room is beautiful. The bar downstairs is still a great place for a before dinner cocktail. Simply the best. Thanks again Atria for making the Island even better!

Six of us recently inundated this lovely restaurant in beautiful Edgartown, a quiet town in Martha's Vineyard. I have never been so happy to pay my check at the end of dinner! There was absolutely nothing that I didn't enjoy and the feeling was shared by everyone at the table. Our waiter was a little goofy, but the service was prompt, the food was hot and delicious, and although the entrees are pricey, the serving size is enormous. We shared 2 bottles of wine and each couple shared an appetizer and a salad. The tuna tartare melted in my mouth and the heirloom tomato panzanella salad was delicious. I had to order fish for dinner - being by the sea of course - but my husband ordered a steak. Neither of us was disappointed. My grilled halibut on basil mashed potatoes with lightly grilled heirloom tomatoes was fabulous. Following the recommendation of our waiter, we ordered a side of garlicky truffle french fries! Hello. I would just eat those for dinner. The basket of fries was enormous and we absolutely devoured them. We ate so well at dinner that we had no room for dessert although the menu looked great. Our bill per couple was about $125 - we honestly thought it would be higher after what seemed like a long and indulgent meal. If you find yourself on the Vineyard, make your way to Atria!

One of our favorite restaurants is not among New York's superfluity of dining institutions, but is Atria on the picturesque, tranquil island of Martha's Vineyard. We were recommended to this restaurant by a friend on our first time visit. Just by looking at the menu online, I knew dinner would be dazzling. We were even more impressed in person when we came upon the restaurant set in an 18th-century sea captain's house in Edgartown. Known for its fresh organic island-grown produce, off-the-boat seafood, and imaginative influences from around the world including Mediterranean, Middle East, and Asia, we tasted the difference in their quality and creativity. Perhaps it was also the calm, lantern lit backyard that we dined in that made us feel relaxed and unrushed. we felt complete at home at a friend's backyard with impeccable service. It was also slightly chilly and our server was kind enough to offer me a wrap. Unlike in New York, we actually enjoyed savoring the flavors and taking our time through dinner. Our notable dishes included the fresh heirloom mozzarella salad with pesto and pinenuts, foie gras terrine and the fresh lobster. In fact, we loved the heirloom salad so much we've recreated the recipe a few times at home ourselves. There's truly nothing better than cooking fresh local produce in season. We would have eaten at Atria again on our second evening if we didn't already have an all-inclusive dinner at our B&B. Culinary Explorer's Guide to Dining Out of Town: * Order dishes with fresh, local-grown in-season produce, seafood or meats. If it's tomato season, go for it! * Sit outdoors if possible on a pleasant evening and bring a light wrap just in case. * Relax and take your time enjoying dinner.

Expensive. Good food. Great atmosphere. Good wine list. Five of us went on a Sat night. Of the Duck and Striped Bass I prefered the duck. Earlier reviewers negative comments about the heirloom tomatos is spot on for the bass dish. Service was prompt (even rushed at times) if not overly attentive. Parking was good early 630pm and challenging later - in fact leaving was a 10 min ordeal. Valet or parking director (other than other guests) might be a good idea.

WORST RESTAURANT EVER! And it's such a shame, as we have been coming to the Vineyard for years and years and years, and always loved this place. Even now, a year later, we are still waiting for the owners to contact us to discuss the abhorent treatment we received, but I guess their customers just aren't that important to them! I went to dinner there with my husband and my mother in law, who is a television producer (see thewifts.com/Press_Agran… ). After lovely wine and salads, the entrees proceeded to arrive, two of which were freezing, one of which was warmed. We asked for this to be remedied, and the two cold ones came out exactly the same, and the other one was told to us to be extremely hot. However the food was still lukewarm, but the plate had obviously been put directly under the broiler and the plate alone (no food!) was scalding. A 24 year old 'manager' named Nathan came out to see what could be done, obviously he had not been schooled in the treatment of unhappy customers. He pushed the bill upon us, telling us we had to pay. We informed him we would be delighted to pay for the wine and appetizers, but as all three of us were unable to eat, and it was then 10pm, why in the world would we pay for the entrees? In a rare and relatively unheard of worst management style ever, he called the police. Yes, you read it right. The police. Stop laughing. The policeman, also barely out of college, arrived with an older policeman. The older one kept apologizing to us about how horribly we were being treated, while the younger one, who obviously thinks that Grey's Papaya was a treat, informed us we should pay, which of course we did, laughing all the while at poor Nathan and wondering why on a Saturday night there was no management there. By the way, the chef came out to speak with several 'well endowed' women at several tables, who were obviously there on a girls nights out, and didn't even stop ONE TIME to see if we were being attended to after our horrendous meal. We left every contact detail you can think of for the owners to get back to us, emails, phone numbers, the place we were staying, etc. No contact whatsoever. Even went back to drop off my husband's business card to make it even easier for them, I guess that tv producers, presidents, CEOs, and the like aren't wanted at their establishment, and aren't important enough to deal with. Luckily for us though that my husband golfs with the restaurant reviewer at New York Magazine and used to be a director at Gourmet magazine. And this summer we are back on the Vineyard, and we continue to make sure that no one we know risks the treatment we received. Apparently we're not the only ones who have received such treatment. Good luck to you, Atria, you need it!

I'm so glad we decided to go to this restaurant despite some not so positive reviews on yelp. The hostess had an attitude but the waiter's polite service more than made up for the attitude at the door. This is the best meal we've had so far on the Vineyard. We each had a different glass of white wine: Roux burgundy, Atria chardonnay and Treana. For appetizers, we had the ahi tuna tempura with tobiko and seaweed salad, and shared the seabass entree with heirloom tomatoes, mashed potato and lobster chunks. For entrees we had 2lb lobsters which were amazing and had that "wow" factor you expect from a $52 entree. Definitely a head turner even in a high end restaurant. They were battered lightly and deep fried but still retained that fresh lobster consistency, sat atop a bed of arugula and mashed potatos surrounded by a pool of creamy melted butter. Desserts were just ok. Indian rice pudding left much to be desired, way too heavy after a big meal. Greek yogurt with toasted walnuts and honey was delicious but the best was the coconut gelato which was not on the menu. We asked for it separately.

This restaurant has very, very good food; however, you will definitely pay for it. If your looking for great ambiance, nice presentation and a good wine list, this is the place to go. It will run about $50 a person, so be prepared for the check.

Yes, you should come hungry. Very hungry. The chef is generous, and his food might make you cry it's so delicious. The service is excellent--friendly and welcoming, but also professional (I for one hate to be interrupted every five minutes). If you eat pork, please do not think twice about ordering the Pig Pig Pig. I think about it all year, waiting to get back. Which I must, very soon...

Stayed right across the street at the Hob Nob Inn ( how convenient). Went to Atria the first night we were in Martha's Vineyard. Cancelled the second night's plan in order to go back to Atria, and brought other people who were also staying at the Hob Nob. The food was that good. Especially loved the wok fired lobster. Also the coconut crusted prawns. All the fish is fresh, fresh, fresh and they also use organic local produce. Lovely decor, great service, cannot rave enough.
