This is a classic take out Chinese restaurant. Food is good and service is efficient. Not to mention delivery is really fast. Run by honest, hard-working Asian American family. It does have "Wok Hay" and if you're not Chinese, it means that it has Asian authenticity to their dishes. The chicken wing and teriyaki sticks are REALLY good. Perfect for late nights and after bar / clubs because it opens till 3 am !

Wow this place was a joke. I had dance practice near by and I already called Magic Wok across the street for the AWSOME CRAB RANGOON. But one of my dancers insisted we stop by here first so she can order her "favorite foods". I'm guessing everything is premade? Everything came out quick, It looked like (from the view of the open kitchen) they just packaged the food and sent it out. I Just hadto try the crab rangoon to see why she was pushy about going here. One bite of the crab rangoon and it was full of MSG! Oh btw it only took one bite to finish one crab rangoon which is pretty pathetic it looked like they skimped out on the filling :(. It was small and soggy and full of poison! No Thankkkk Youuuu! So my dancer order small crab rangoons and 1$ Rice. When I first heard her say that I'm like what? They sell 1$ rice? Was it from last week? Well apparently they sell 1$ rice boxes and when I looked inside that box...it was like looking into a box of pitch blackness! Too much food coloring! I'm only "reviewing" this place because I want to save others from coming here! DON'T GO IN THERE YOU WON'T MAKE IT OUT ALIVE.... or you might but you might end up from poisoning and go to the E.R

In which "underwhelming" is an understatement - I could do better than this, and that's with an express lack of culinary expertise! I'm with the other reviewers - try another.

uummm, not much! Ate there once and not going to ever, prices are really cheap but quality is disgusting, chunks of whatever seasoning/ charcoal in my plate therefore had to stop eating, i did feel like i had eaten a piece and made me sick.

Yelp should really add a 'Zero Star' option... This place was garbage when I was 10 and it's good to see that 15 years later, they have stayed true to their roots. I used to eat there all the time when I was a kid, well because it was better than my aunt's cooking. As soon as I got older and was free to move around, Yum-yum (I like their sense of humor lol) was no longer part of my diet. Within the last year or 2 I stopped by 1 or 2 times simply because I was already driving in that area but that turned out to be a mistake. Food is still awful, the color is very unnatural and the portions are very small and high priced in comparison to other Chinese restaurants. The only people who keep them in business are new comers who don't know better, patrons stumbling out of the Blarney Stone who are too drunk to care and the homeless. Speaking of homeless patrons... Please try to give them exact change or tell them to keep the rest. Otherwise you might get piss soaked bills back that belonged to the last homeless who paid right before you. I almost had to throw out my wallet.

Definitely NOT yum yum. Went here Friday night because it was close by and open. We were all a little effed up and REALLY hungry. Boy and I got scallion pancakes and vegetable chow fun/foon. The scallion pancakes were decent. Now, vegetable chow fun is my go-to, always have it dish for Chinese takeout. It has never done me wrong. Never - until now. THIS WAS SOME NASTY SHIT. The noodles weren't wide enough and way too thick. The sauce was absolutely foul. There were no vegetables - it was clearly just beef chow fun with no beef in it. (I know this for a fact because my girlfriend GOT the beef chow fun, which was also vile.) Worst of all, it was weirdly gritty - my boyfriend took a bite, looked up and asked indignantly "why is this sandy?!" Puerto Rican friend got fries, God knows why, and they were okay... weirdly Chinese-food flavored because of the oil, but hey, we were drunk. Other friends got Crab Rangoons and said they were soggy and gross. Needless to say, most of the chow fun (both veggie and beef) went in the trash. We drove off to my friend's house up the street and ate some bok choy. True story.

The food is great! I'm a Boston native and it's been a long time since I had good Chinese food. I highly recommend this for take-out!

STAY FAAAAAR AWAY! You have been warned, dear Yelper! The food is all this weird pink-purplish food coloring color. Now, the color doesn't make the absolute grossness of the food any better, it simply ADDS to the gross factor. Ewww! Never, ever, ever, again. Try Chinatown Express, up the street, in Mattapan.

Yum Yum is hardly a restaurant with it's 4 take out orange table. It's a small little chinese take out place smack dab in dot ave. I love this place growing up (yes, I grew up in the 'hood so you know I'm tough). They have THE BEST "wing ding platter" and teriyaki sticks. Don't order anything else here. The rice is heavily soaked in food coloring and the vegetable lacks the crunch but boy they have us going back to the old neighborhood just for the wing dings for our "sister's movie night" along with the pastrami sub from Hi-Fi Pizza across the street.

Does not live up to it's name. Cheap & greasy food. No bang for the buck. Save Your $$ & walk a few blocks up.

Chinese Cuisine

The popularity of Chinese food in America can be adjudicated by the appearance of China Town in many major cities in the United State of America. The popular trend of ordering or opting for Chinese take away food isn't unknown in America. Chinese take away food comes to rescue when you're too tired from work or too exhausted to cook. No one can resist the temptation of eating spicy noodles, shrimp, chicken, beef or pork cooked in the sweet and spicy sauce. The cooking method of authentic Chinese food is a lot different compared to what is served in America.

Generally, Chinese use dark meat small bones and organs to cook dishes but this changes when you are eating American-Chinese fusion food prepared using white boneless meat cooked with broccoli, carrots and onions. Back in China, the food is less spicy and oily as they favor steaming and braising method for cooking the most popular dishes. So, if you have a taste for authentic Chinese food, then try finding a real Chinese restaurant in the city. You can also try the most popular fusion Chinese food like Pecking Duck, Chicken Feet, Hot Pot, Shrimp Dumpling Soup, Mapo Tofu, Wontons, Chop Suey, Egg Rolls and not to forget Fortune Cookies.

There are not many restaurants in America serving authentic Chinese food. A little research on Restaurant Listings directory can help you locate the best Chinese restaurants in the city. Chinese cuisine is continuously evolving, and you can find a variety of dishes categorized as the food for lactose intolerant, gluten intolerant, vegan, vegetarian, and diabetic friendly. So, if you have a group of friends with different taste patterns, save the hassle and visit the nearest Chinese restaurant in your city.
