Had dinner there before a movie we were awed by the authentic, homemade selections. I love Greek food and have eaten in much nicer surroundings but the food here is delicious. I had the lamb shank special and my friend the Spanakopita plate that are served on cafeteria trays with plastic utensils. Most of the people in line were for takeout but they serve in line order so some late comers had to get take out to take to movie. The Baklava was big and delicious. Prices are reasonable and the selection of Appetizers and Wraps/Sandwiches great as well. I especially liked their lemon potatoes and soup. It was the best lemon flavor I have had in Greek food. I would like to give them more stars but it is a basic take out place with 20 seats and not a real dine out spot. Bu the food is fabulous and the family cooks it all. There are some write-ups on the history of this place and it puts a wonderful cultural and family restaurant in perspective. I will be back when in the area.

Best gyro I've ever had! The pita is fluffy and warm and has a very nice sweet twist to it. Just the right amount of sauce and the wrap balanced really well between crispy and salt meat, soft pita, crunchy lettuce and a smooth, creamy sauce. The pastichio is also really good - more carbs than I need but a really interesting spice that adds the subtle kick to an otherwise very straightforward flavor. Lemon potatoes were cooked very well - zesty!

Loved the food. We had several different dishes, and it is always great!

I was kinda fairly disappointed with this establishment, despite hearing great reviews from friends and fellow yelpers and it being a mom-n-pop establishment. I think in short, everything just felt salty; from the hummus to the gyro. I came here with my friends for a quick sit down dinner and I felt the staff seemed to be having a very busy day cause they were quite curt with some of my questions on the menu items. I ordered the moussaka, tried a regular gyro, and the lamb wrap as well. The lamb chunks were excellently seasoned, incredibly tender; the regular gyro meat was good...but salty and despite the warm chewy wrap, I felt that the stuffing could have used more items/love. The moussaka was very big, but it was actually just a big thick layer of behemel sauce, and only 3 strands of eggplant, which I was really disappointed with. Overall, I had come to expect a lot from an authentic Greek restaurant, and this place just didnt the spot for me. Food; 2 stars Service 2 stars Ambiance: 3 stars Price: 3 stars

Very affordable, family-owned restaurant. This is a no frills kind of place so don't expect anything fancy. You order at the counter and they bring you the food. The staff is so friendly and welcoming. My favorite off the menu is their pita and hummus. Probably the best hummus I've ever had, and the pita is soft and chewy. I have also had their lamb skewers with a side of rice. Portion sizes are good for the price. I just wish they were located closer to me.

Cute little place and the staff was very friendly. Had the chicken avglemono soup ( chicken , rice in a lemon broth) very good just a little too thick but it felt good going down on a 18 degree cold night. First time here so as an out of towner I kept it safe and had the Gyro platter. Again good but a little too salty for my taste and I like flavorful food just not salty. I noticed lots of 4's and 5 stars but I can't push myself past 3-3 1/2. I'll suggest coming but not necessarily my pick of the week. I will say I left full and content I came. Nice music in the background.

Best gyro I've had in the US! Their mousaka is amazing as well. And I am from Turkey - I know what I'm talking about :))

Consistently excellent food! Portions are big and not too pricey. The place is small so large groups are hard to accommodate, but waiting for a table is worth it.

This place was packed on Saturday night. Tons of people for take out and I think we were lucky to find a table for 3. It can be a bit overwhelming to sit here with a line almost out the door behind you but as long as you know that's the deal. The Greek salad and pita with the entree was nice. And we got this yogurt dish with pita that was very good, forget the name though. I had the lamb kabob, it was good but wasn't quite what I wanted in the end. Lots of people opting for fries. Woman at the register was very friendly. Beer was terrible. Both the blue moon and Sam summer my friend got tasted watered down (even thou I assume it's bottled??). Dont go there unless your desperate for one. Liked but didn't love this place but obviously many do love it

Going to Dedham for the Costco once in a while lends itself to some sparse meal choices, so it was a pleasure to find this restaurant nearby. There's no wait service, but the food is cheap, good and plentiful. It's a family owned shop where you walk up to the counter and order, but you can look straight into the kitchen and see them prepare the food. Between the two of us we ordered the gyro, moussaka, and humus app and we ended up taking half home because it was so much food. The dinner specials come with a salad, and they serve wine and beer if you are interested. We will definitely be back!

I can't believe I lived in Readville for over two years before going to this place! My husband (who is greek) and I have been several times now and I have always been impressed. The staff are quick and helpful with suggestions and the service is excellent. My husband loves the gyro and considers it the best he has ever had. I generally order a greek salad with grilled chicken on it, which is without a doubt the best option for a greek salad in the whole area. One thing to note for those allergic to gluten is that the rice pilaf is made with orzo. The first time I came here I was a little disappointed to order rice, only to not be able to eat it! The lemon potatoes are a very tasty side to have instead of rice.

  • Dull Machete S.

My go-to for Greek food. The warm pita bread, hummus and small Greek salad come with most dishes. I usually check the chalkboard in the window for nightly specials. The place is small with no waitstaff, but it's well worth it.

It was packed when we arrived for lunch at 12:45 on Sat for lunch. We shared a Greek salad with chicken and the lemon potatoes (based on previous Yelpers recommendations). The counter service is friendly & helpful. The salad was large enough to share for lunch with lightly charred chicken and toasted pita, tasty. The lemon potatoes are generous in portion but fairly bland. I would skip these. Overall, a nice place for good Greek food.

This is a wonderful casual Greek restaurant. You can see the love the family puts in to their food and it never disappoints. The one subtle thing to notice that amazes me is that you if you pay attention you can see how much everyone is enjoying being there. I just wish they had clones so they could be open all week long. I am often kicking myself because I want to go and it is a Monday.

    (5)
  • Tracy R.

Very good Greek food. My husband loves the shwarma and I get the Greek salad. It's very casual so we usually just get pick up. Not opened Sunday or Monday.

What a great surprise. Authentic Greek food right in the heart of Dedham. GF and I shared one lamb and one chicken souvlaki on a quiet, midweek movie night. Walked into a half filled restaurant and went right to the front of the line. Very friendly, welcoming service with a greeting that made one feel I'd been there frequently. Why aren't more restaurateurs like that? It's just so easy to do, and costs nothing. Chicken souvlaki was a five while the lamb was kinda tough so we gave it three stars. Sides were decent, but nothing to rave about either. Would I go back? Absolutely.

Best Gyro you've ever had! Family joint...Mom's in charge w/ sons in the kitchen....Great food my friends...look no further for delicious Greek!!

  • Tater M.

Cozy local restaurant- I come here for the amazing lemony chicken rice soup (it has a proper Greek name..). It's herby, has good sized chunks of chicken, slices of carrots and celery: extremely flavorful. Lamb anything here (kabob, leg..) is excellent. Kind of their signature dish I believe. Even their sides are great: fresh Greek salad with crunchy lettuce and healthy dollop of feta cheese and thick slices of cucumber and tomatoes, couple of kalamata olives. Mmm! And they have moussaka here!!! Layered perfection of eggplant, onions, minced meat, potatoes and custard on top. The custard is sooooo good. Must try. Last but not least- the family who operates this place are so nice and professional and try to get tables and chairs for everyone who wants to eat in.

Been twice for lunch now. The Greek salad is great and the warm pita they serve it with is amazing. Lemon potatoes are good the onion rings are good. Service is friendly enough. Solid lunch choice for dedham area.

I have been eating here once a week since I moved to Dedham. Everything I have tried is delicious. Portions are good. The service is good and they are friendly. Good location and price. Highly recommend this restaurant.

We come here about once a month and everything is delicious. The meatballs with Tzatziki sauce are a must and we always get two orders. The humus comes with warm pita bread that tastes like it's been fresh baked. We always order an extra Greek Salad; the dressing is fresh and light. In addition to the fresh home-cooked traditional Greek food part of the charm is the atmosphere. This is a family owned business and you can see the Mom, Dad and two sons happily working away in the kitchen and engaging with customers. The dining area is small but we always manage to find a seat. Sometimes I'll call in a take-out order so that it's ready and we will grab plates and silverware, unpack and grab a table.

Excellent gyro wraps. Loaded with good seasoned meat and the standard toppings. Side salad is good as well. As good as it gets for gyros.

  • Wennie F.

First time I ordered take out and it will be the last time I ever eat here. I found a strand of hair baked into the meat of my mousaka! That was not something I expected and that summarizes my experience.

After I read the reviews and even a recommendation from a friend I did visit this place. Well I ordered a Spanakopita with Greek salad and potato, and my wife ordered Lamb beef gyro. To my surprise I saw a small Greek salad in a small bowl and a good size peace of Spanakopita, however it was slim and not much spinach and taste bitter, and the phyllo dough was dry to mushy. My wife said the Gyro was ok; but it is a bit salty. To be honest my expectation was high and left a little disappointed. I strongly recommend that they taste the food before they present it.

Great fresh dishes. Good for take out and dining in (small inside). Very nice and hard working staff.

There's a reason this place is ranked where it is, and a reason it's packed to the brim on a Tuesday night. Lamb kabobs and lemon potatoes were unreal. Go medium rare at the heaviest on the lamb.

    (5)
  • An L.

Nice greek food options here. Spankopita a bit too much cheese for my liking. Hummus wrap too much hummus for my liking. French fries not awesome. Greek salad was nice; the sauce was a bit too creamy. Would try balsalmic next time. Rice pudding not awesome. Too much cinnamon. But the lemon potatoes were just right and delicious!

Love this place. I've been half a dozen times and I'm always surprised by how consistent and well executed the food is. Dishes like the skordalia seem so simple, but are full of flavor. Service is alway very friendly. On your first visit be sure to try the Keftedes. I highly recommend Kouzina.

  • Imran J.

Great food. Excellent service. This restaurant has become one of my favorites in the area. The souvlaki is tender and flavorful. Gyros also very nice. The homemade hummus is an excellent appetizer and we always have enough left to take home for the next day. Best of all though is the lamb shank on the weekends. Mouthwatering.

I love this cozy little Dedham gem. The food is delicious, authentic, homemade and comforting. The family that owns it are hard working and kind. Not a fan of Greek food? Their cheeseburgers are phenomenal!! (best kept secret in Dedham.)

Kouzina is everything I look for in a local restaurant: delicious food, reasonable prices, and delightful owners that are a pleasure to see. I primarily get takeout and can't remember ever having a bad experience. For appetizers I highly recommend the Melezanslata even if you can't pronounce it. It's an eggplant spread that is complemented well by their warmed pita. The stuffed grapes leaves and lemon chicken soup are also tasty. For entrees, my favorites include the Chicken Soulaki and the Stuffed Peppers (one of their weekly specials). The Mousaka and Pasticho are good if you're in the mood for a heavier dish. The desserts are also definitely worth trying. The Baklava isn't too syrupy or sweet and the Rice Pudding is consistently good. My family's favorite is the Galaktobouriko which is like a custard pie with a flaky top and bottom. Overall this is one of my favorite restaurants and is well worth the trip for anyone who likes Greek food and lives anywhere close to Dedham.

Absolutely DELISH!!!!! It was definitely busy. Got there @ 6:15 and patiently scoped out tables that would soon be empty to accommodate our party of six which surprisingly only took 15 mins. Super casual, nothing fancy, order at the counter then seat yourself. We left at 8 and the small place was packed the entire time and also doing one hell of a take out business. The staff was very friendly. For starters we got stuffed grape leaves, and some sort of eggplant dip. Both were very good. For dinner my fiance got the lamb shank special which was perfectly cooked, tender and full of flavor. I got the mousaka which was absolutely amazing. I was so full but couldn't stand the idea of not finishing it. Friends got the other special, green bean and potato stew and the meatballs. Definitely a hidden gem in Dedham center!!!! We will be going back for sure!!!!

It seems like there is a consensus here, that the family is so nice! I seldom write reviews (this is my second...ever), but I had to for this awesome place. The decor is unassuming, much like a Greek version of a Chinese take-out place. If you're not ordering take out (it seems like it's what most people do here), it's perfect for catching up with friends casually over a yummy meal, or having a bite to eat on your own (I am having lunch, charging my computer, and writing this using the wi-fi from Mocha Java -- also a great place, by the way). The food is more than above par, but great value (my favorite Greek place is about twice as expensive). I had the lamb soulvaki (medium rare, could be more tender & rare, but I am picky), and I loved the lemon potatoes, as the server recommended :)

Delicious chicken fingers! Small, cramped restaurant but in charming Dedham square and very good service with quality food.

  • Douglas W.

To be perfectly honest, I can't really speak to the dine-in experience at Kouzina. What I can tell you is that their Greek Salad is so good that my wife and I typically pick them up to go every single week. Perfect feta, great pita, awesome dressing. We top ours with Gyro meat and its really, really tasty. The lemon potatoes are bomb too. The staff is always very friendly and appreciative when we come in. I can't register a complaint. Very reliable and delicious.

  • C C.

Friendly staff. Gyro wraps are usually pretty good, but occasionally very salty. Chicken plate is always fair, but not great. Pita bread is excellent. But... Just had the Cod special today -- it was easily the worst fish I have had in the past 5+ years. The cod had an overwhelmingly fishy smell and taste -- obviously not what cod should taste like when it's reasonably fresh. It was memorably bad. Probably best to stick to chicken, beef and lamb going forward. As reference points, I think the Greek Corner in Cambridge is a bit better and Roksana's (Persian) in Watertown is much better.

  • Rozzie M.

Really enjoyed our first visit. The ordering system is a little confusing but some friendly regulars helped us understand one needs to order at the counter and pick up your items as they call you back up. Loved the meletzanosakata (eggplant/garlic appetizer) and enjoyed the chicken souvlaki and moussaka. The later is very heavy but well seasoned and delicious. Took half if it home. Lemon potatoes are lovely and the side Greek salad adequate. Took home baklava to try later. Too full to eat it now!! Definitely will be back.

  • Julia K.

Great food. The lemon potatoes are my favorite. People are friendly and the service is prompt. The only negative thing I can say is that there not a ton of vegetarian options.

  • Judy G.

Kouzina is the best Greek restaurant we've found in the area. The food is delicious and truly Greek. You will probably want to get take out because there is limited seating that fills up quickly on weekend evenings. We love their lamb special on the weekends and they have the best Greek salads we have found. The décor could use some sprucing up, it is downright tacky. But if the food is more important to you than the décor, this is the Greek place you must try.

  • Juno R.

My favorite Greek restaurant in the area. Their hummus is to DIE for. I always order a side of hummus with my meal. so so so good...do not underestimate this place.

This is the place to go when you're starving in Dedham. I usually get the spanakopita (spinach pie) and the chicken souvlaki (chicken kabob type dish.) Yummy, yummy. I haven't found a better Greek restaurant in the Boston area yet and, more importantly, a nicer group of people running a family-owned establishment. You won't leave hungry or grumpy.

    (5)
  • Meghan F.

Very good food - freshly prepared and served as soon as it is ready. Given this is not a table service restaurant, there is a pretty nice vibe inside, and if you can get a seat by the window, it feels fancier than it is. They also serve beer and wine. If anything could be improved, the staff could be slightly nicer/more polite but overall we love this place and will be back.

Excellent Greek food. My girlfriend and I eat here often, and we love the Taramasalata, Hummus, and Gyros.

i love this place so much, I simply couldn't live without their lemon potatoes and gyros! the service is always polite and helpful, they have no problem explaining the dishes and making excellent recommendations. If you're craving greek food near Dedham this is the place to go! :)

  • Chris K.

I live nearby here and decided to try this place out since I miss good Greek food and wanted to find out if this place was worth it.... It is...the food here is as good as it is back in Greece from a good Greek restaurant. I have tried a lot of their dishes and all taste as authentic as they do back in Greece but I always go back for the pita gyro (greek souvlaki wrap with meat and tzatziki sauce). Best ever. I also recommend the galaktobouriko for desert. Its family owned and run. The brothers cook the food, the Mother runs the register and the dad cleans the tables. A family business with great food. A few things to keep in mind: They are close Mondays and Sundays and the place is small so not that great for big groups.

Discovered this place here on Yelp and glad to have tracked it down! I had the absolute best grilled chicken salad, ever and the green lasagna was absolutely to die for. And the bread,....oh the bread...sooooo good.

What a great little place! The family is very friendly and accommodated our special requests. My nephew got a cheeseburger and loved it. I got chicken souvlaki with yummy lemon potatoes and salad and my sister got the special which was a spicy shrimp dish that I would try next time. It can get crowded but it has a nice, relaxed vibe. Good place to bring kids, too. Highly recommend.

A nice family establishment, makes me wish I lived or worked nearby so that I can pick up a bite for lunch or some take out for dinner. There are several tables there and they seem to do a really good business on takeout. An older gentleman keeps an eye out on making sure the tables are cleared and wiped clean. The woman/owner who takes your order at the counter is welcoming, telling you to enjoy your meal first if you eat there before paying. Even though it was apparently a former pizza joint, it felt like I was in someone's home kitchen, idk, maybe it was the Greek music playing in the background. The lemon chicken soup was hot and delicious, with just the right amount of lemon zest. The lamb kabob is cooked to your liking, nicely grilled with homemade warm pita bread, yummy lemon potatoes, and a small Greek salad on the side for the dinner plate. The gyro wrap was packed full of well seasoned meat, I mean this was a big sandwich! All of this plus a soft drink was just a bit over $20, that's quite the value for a wonderful home-cooked meal. I'm really looking forward to coming here again.

Everywhere we went was so busy so we ended up here. My wife and I love to try new things but our son likes a diet of strictly chicken fingers so we were hesitant to venture in. Glad we did. I ordered the lamb and it was so delightful. I forget what my wife ordered but she had nothing but compliments as well. My son, well, he ate begrudgingly but deep down I'm sure he enjoyed it. I would go back again maybe for lunch. Seating is very limited and they do a lot of take out so it can get noisy fast. Small place so go early before the crowd hits. No reservations I believe.

Came here a couple of years ago when I was looking for something to eat after a trip to Costco Dedham. Thankfully I found Kouzina and have kept coming back ever since. I live in Milford and continue to come back here at least twice a month. One word to remember: keftedes. They give you six of these beauties along with their fantastic potatoes. You will not be disappointed!

  • Sven K.

Friendly staff, moderate prices = 2 stars. Greek food is all about taste and freshness. We ordered Pastitsio as well as Moussaka - both of which were bland, mushy and reheated. Very disappointing. Yes, it does take a bit more time to make these dishes. Just do it right.

    (2)
  • Erick S.

Everything here is good - from the Tzatziki, to the Souvlaki to the friendly family behind the counter and even the location in historic Dedham Square. You just can't go wrong with Kouzina! Whether it's a take out dinner for two, or a family of four sit down meal, Kouzina definitely hits the spot!

This is my favorite restaurant in Dedham - we moved to Dedham in February and are not sure what we'd do without this place! Greek salads are amazing, love the dressing and warm pita too. Wraps, gyros, lemon potatoes, all yummy. We keep saying we need to try the other option options on the menu but I cannot stop craving the Greek salad. Very friendly family that runs the restaurant, very affordable food.

  • Bing Bing W.

I'm not familiar with Greek food, so my friend and I ordered based on their suggestions and our gut instinct. I felt that overall vinegar was over used because it overpowered other flavors, but I couldn't bring myself to rating any less than 4 stars due to their incredible friendliness. The sweetest and most inviting staff I've come across-- wish it was like that everywhere... Street parking. Seating both inside and out, but this is very much a hole-in-the-wall, so don't expect a large restaurant. Credit card friendly. Plus, they've got wine and booze!

I get my usual Turkish fix at the Brookline Family Diner, but this is my new spot for getting my Greek on. Kouzina is such a bright spot in "downtown" Dedham. I think this area is really lacking in terms of dining choices overall. I happened to stop and peer inside the windows because the interior just looked cheery---yellow walls and high cafe tables for dining in. The chalkboard menu is filled with all kinds of Greek specialties--from stuffed grape leaves, gyros and Greek salads to lemon chicken soup and baklava. In fact, there are so many choices that one guy who came in after us stood in front of the counter for about 10 minutes trying to decide what to order (and then changed his mind)....good thing there was no one behind him! The moussaka was the perfect comfort food for a brisk fall day and I got a nice side of lemon potatoes, salad and pita to go with my lunch plate. The boyfriend's lamb gyro was a tasty combination of seasoned lamb, spicy sauce, and veggies. I couldn't help but sneak a few bites of his while sharing mine. Our two lunch plates were just under $20, so it's great for a value-priced, homemade meal, but I imagine takeout would be pretty fantastic too. I think they close early in the evenings though, because we were foiled one time when we tried to get food there after a late Lowe's shopping trip!

I was TOTALLY hankering for some gyro action the other day, and searched for a Greek place to satisfy that hunger. I didn't want any old gyro from a pizza joint, but something I used to be able to get at awesome falafel places in the city. And boy, did i find it here! They have it spinning in the corner like a self respecting Greek joint should have. And oh... they toast the pita for ya, so it's SO warm and SO delicious when you're cramming the gyro into your mouth as soon as you receive it. Mmmmmmmmmmm... add in homemade tzatziki sauce, and I'm a puddle on the floor. Run by the cutest family - the mom takes the order, the dad preps, and the son cooks... how can you NOT support them?? And they have kick ass food! Eating in is so easy since their dining area is actually quite nice - with tall bistro tables. It looks like it was renovated nicely. :) Joanna likey, and will totally be back to stuff my face with more gyros and greek salads. Mmmmmmmm...

When I want to feel like I'm back in Greece eating at the little family spots I love, I go here. The food never disappoints and everyone is friendly. My only complaint; I never gotten there in time to get the stuffed peppers, they sell out quick!

Finding a new place to experience authentic yumminess is a sure-fire way to put a grin on my face and make my tummy happy. The spousal unit and I were traveling through Dedham, MA when my stomach informed me that it needed to be fed. Again. A quick review of the Yelp ratings and we headed towards Kouzina Estiatorio. Who doesn't love a little Greek in the late afternoon? There were plenty of places to sit, it was clean and everyone was friendly. Free parking across the street was a total bonus. It took a few moments to absorb the variety of items before deciding on the lamb pita. Husband chose the same thing, and we weren't disappointed. The meat was grilled fresh, the veggies were good and it was a pretty satisfying and flavorful meal. One downside was the texture of the meat...a tad chewy and that put me off a bit, but I will definitely be back to give this little gem of a restaurant another try because the flavors and food quality was impressive.

I got take out from here. I got the pasticho which came with a choice of rice or potatoes and a salad and pita bread. I got the rice which was not that good. I think it was just regular rice pilaf from a box with some added spices. The salad was good and the pita bread was very good. The pasticho I just didnt like. It was the cream sause. Overall my meal was not that good. But I got to try some of my dining partners meal. She got the Keftades with the potatoes. Keftades are grilled meatballs and they were fantastic. The Potatoes were mind blowingly awsome. I didnt know the greek people knew how to cook potatoes but they sure do. The potatoes have a lemon favor to them which mesh perfectly with the flavor of the potatoe All in all I think I just ordered the wrong thing but I was not happy with what I got. I feel the place has lots of potential. I do plan on going back.

A nice family establishment with decent food and an excellent selections of what appeared to be authentic Greek classics. The problem is in the kitchen and how they handle orders! We ordered two Greek Salads to go and waited 40 minutes after inquiring at the 15 minute mark they told us it was coming up. Instead of preparing multiple orders at the same time they finished one order to completion then start the next order and so on which could be observed from the open kitchen which by the way is a very good size kitchen. It was a classic Gordon Ramsey Kitchen's Nightmare moment which I found kind of comical but my wife was ready to explode. We were told by two other patrons that this kind of service was typical.

Excellent food at excellent prices. Something different than your everyday food and once you try one thing on their menu, you'll want to try it all. Kouzina is where the Greek locals go to eat Greek food! The newly added Beer & Wine just makes this place the best kept secret in town!

This is the very best Greek food I've ever had--you can tell a lot of it is homemade. The tables and chairs are much to look at, but they do just fine for great food and unpretentious service. Two people can eat here for $20. I recommend the chicken souvlaki (not to be underestimated), the hummus & pita, and the amazing fried cheese (eat this quickly before it gets hard!).

I don't know a lot about Greek food but I am a big fan of this place. I went for lunch the other day with my baby daughter and found the place to be uncrowded and the people working to be very friendly. My friend had a plate of grape leaves stuffed with meat and a side of potatos while I had a gyro. I figured that in terms of greek food, a gyro would be a good way to measure the quality of the food. The meat with sliced thick and there was a good sized helping wrapped up in a deliciously soft pita bread. The added veggies were fresh and the sauce....oh baby! I tried my friend's grape leaves and they were fresh and stuffed full of a moderately spiced filling. They have Real City soda on tap so I splurged and got an orange soda. Based on the other reviews I have read, I am looking forward to going back and trying some more options. All in all, a great little place that offers fast, fresh and filling Greek food in the heart of Dedham Square.

Another night at the Kouzina...I tried the Gyro and it was delicious, certainly not just your average fast food variety Gyro. We also tried the green beans with potatoes cooked in a tomato sauce and the dish was very good. Even my picky 4 year old niece enjoyed them so that is saying a lot. This restaurant NEVER disappoints. Can't wait to go back and try it again.

This is a very comfy restaurant that made me feel like I was sitting with the Greek chefs in the kitchen. The meletzanosalata appetizer was heavenly - a pureed eggplant dip with fresh, warm pita. The side salad was also delicious - it had some of the best feta topping I have had in a long time. I loved the spanakopita with its flaky filo and creamy spinach and feta layers. The hummus on the Hummus and Veggie Wrap was also fantastic. And finally, the baklava was perfect and sticky - yum! We will be making our way back to Kouzina very soon.

Wow! What an amazing place. I have been here twice and everything I have had and the others have had have been amazing. I have had/tried the beef, lamb and chicken (my favorite was lamb), those amazing lemon potatoes, lentil soup and Greek salad. Others have had and loved the gyros and mousaka. I have not yet had enough room to try dessert. The best part is the family who runs this place. Do not miss trying this wonderful restaurant. I wish I didn't live 3000 miles away, but whenever I visit my dad, this is #1 on my list!

has to be the second best greek restaurant in the dedham/norwood/westwood area. THe feisty greek in norwood is better but this place is also really good. I would recommend it to anyone who is looking for an affordable greek meal.

Best Greek food I've eaten in New England. Gyro with lamb and beef so appetizing my vegetarian daughter wants one. Goes really well with a movie at the Dedham Community Theatre. Worth the drive!

Taramasalata delicious. Better than the best of Greektown in Chicago. The family, who do all the cooking, is a joy to be around. Cozy. Affordable. Just absolutely fantastic. If you consider the price---beyond fantastic. Forgot to add, baklava was best we've ever had.

This is BIG restaurant delivery in a TINY space ...be prepared to walk into a space that feels like you're sitting in the Kouzina kitchen with a view of the action ... but DON'T be scared off. With the charming, family-style service, you'll quickly feel right at home - nestled pretty much next to the busy grills and swarming staff prepping THE most delicious Greek food around. I've never had the burgers, but people RAVE about them ... I tend to go with anything with lamb - and swoon over very meal. Their feta cheese is stellar - and their tomatoes - even in the dead of winter taste like they've been plucked fresh from the garden. The family who runs Kouzina are the hardest-working, nicest folks ever. So happy they got their beer & wine license ... it made it a slam dunk experience every time!

I can't decide what I love more about this place...the food, the service, or the fact that its location allows me to grab an occasional pre-work drink before my shift next door without anyone being the wiser ;). The staff is so great, some of the friendliest folk I have come across in Dedham. The food is always fresh, perfectly seasoned, and, my God, there is just so much of it! I can't remember ever getting so much quality food for under 10 dollars. I usually just grab a wrap or some hummus, so I can't speak for the more complex dishes, but what I've experienced so far has definitely earned five stars.

I was here for dinner last night and had a really great meal. Based on a previous review I had the lamb shank special. It was beautifully cooked. I did wish the sauce was a little bit thicker, but it was still delicious. I had a bite of my friend's Moussaka, and that was delicious too. The salad was great and the warm thick pita bread was yummy. I know it's a hole in the wall, but I do wish they had more seating and more comfortable tales. It was too loud for in-depth conversation. Still, I'd go back any time.

Great Greek food at this family restaurant. Hummus, souvlaki, gyros, pita bread, tzatziki sauce...everything was AMAZING! We don't live around here so unfortunately we won't be able to return but anytime you're in the Dedham area be sure to eat here.

  • Laarv F.

Laarv is not Greek but really enjoys their food. You know a restaurant is good when it's packed the day after Thanksgiving. No turkey leftovers for Laarv. All she and her companion and family wanted was a gyro. The lamb was a little salty. Greek salad hit the spot. Friendly staff and lots of smiles. Laarv is already looking forward to her next visit.

While it takes them 10-15 minutes to make it (to order), I really like their Gyros. (Warmed, herbed flabread; not cold pita pockets. And, a warm lamb cone that is sliced and fried to order. Delicious, fresh tasting tahini sauce.) Their Gyros are MUCH better than any of the Greek sub shops in town. And, their fries are decent. I'm not crazy about the drab interior, but it's clean ... and the owners are very friendly.

I recently ordered from Kouzina Esiatorio on Easter weekend. We ordered a large quantity of food to feed 12 adults and everything was a huge hit from the spanakopita to the lamb souvlaki. Exactly the type of service you expect out of a family restaurant as well as the suggestions for ordering for my larger group were accurate, friendly, and helpful. This is the second time we have taken a large order home and the results were excellent on each occasion. 5 stars.

My fav. little Greek spot - so close to me I love it! Anywho...I generally go for takeout/pickup. It's small inside and casual...but it's cute and the people who work there are soooo sweet and extremely gracious hosts. But I mainly go for the food. I personally love their Mousaka...sooo good. And their lemon potatoes are delish. Their hummus is fab and salads are great. Family owned and they use all natural ingredients. Oh! And the price is right!!!! :-D 5 Stars! :-D

If you want a home cooked Greek Meal, this is the place. We took the entire family and everything was fabulous. The people were so nice and accommodating. Especially sine we had my three grandchildren with us. A 1 yr, 2.5 yr and a3 yr old.

This is a small Greek restuarant located in Dedham Square and the food is as authentic as the friendly Greek family who runs it. They easily have the best Gyro in town (and most surrounding areas). I cant really think of a tastier way to satisfy my hunger for only 7.25. I also tried the Lamb plate which was excellent. The place is OK to sit and eat but it is small and can get busy during prime hours. My recomendation would be to call and take the yummyness back to your house.

  • Craig N.

The place does not look like much from the outside but once you enter you really feel like you are in an authentic greek restaurant. The music, greek staff, and even greek customers make you feel like you picked the right place for Greek food. The staff really go out of their way to make you feel welcomed which adds a lot. The real treat is when you get the food. The portion sizes for lunch are huge (I eat a lot and it filled me up) and incredibly tasty. We have tried 4 different things on the menu including a greek salad and were impressed by all fo the things we tried. I am not sure if I have had better Greek food in the last few years or ever.

I mean come on, is there any better Greek food in the burbs (or Boston area for that matter). Not only do you walk in the door to see the smiling faces of the owner, but the food is affordable, home made and delicious. My suggestion would be to grab a stuffed grape leave appetizer (some extra drilled pita for dipping), the Keftedes (Greek meatballs) with rice or lemon potatoes and perhaps a stuffed Gyro for desert. On Friday nights, my folks comes to visit and beg for their lamb shank, which is first come first serve. Definately check out this place instead of eating at the big restaurants of Legacy Place in Dedham.

Love this place. The family that runs it has been running restaurants forever and absolutely know what they are doing. They also happen to be warm and friendly and make you feel so invited the moment you walk inside. The food is fresh and the lamb chops are prepared to order. Really delicious homestyle greek food.

This place is absolutely amazing! This is authentic Greek food it's fresh, flavorful and satisfying. I believe it's family run and everyone has been an absolute delight. I've been here 3 times and each time it gets better as I try new dishes. Do yourself the favor and order ANY entree with the lemon potatoes and a Mithos beer

Hands down, the BEST Greek food in the Boston area. This place is so good. The gyros have tons of meat on them and just the right amount of greek yogurt and onions. I typically get take out, but I have eaten there and the dining area is nice and clean, but a little on the small side. Must try!!

Tried lunch last week, during the Xmas and New Year's craziness. Was first struck by the friendliness and directness of the guys behind the counter, who seemed to do it all - register, cooking, setting up plates and take-out - with great positive attitude. The food matched! It was simply done and presented, portions were right (we ordered appetizers and soup), and ...the bread....was pita-style and I swear they baked it there. Fantastic! They have beer and wine as well. Good sign - lots of patrons babbling in Greek and hanging around eating and commiserating.

My family and I love this little restaurant. My husband and sons love the lamb chops on the grill and I love getting the chicken souvlaki plate which is a light and delicious meal with a greek salad. My other favorite is the tender chicken breast with red sauce with a side of roasted potatoes. Delicious. The staff is very friendly and the simple storefront dining room is pleasant, plus the prices are so reasonable. Stop here and then enjoy a movie at the Dedham Community Theater. It's a great way to spend a weekend date night.

This is a great place. its our go-to for takeout although you can very comfortably eat there. Its inexpensive and the quality is really great. Service is always pretty friendly. The lamb is good, the hummus is fantastic, the pita soft. I love the keftades and the baklava. Delicious, savory, home cooked food!

This place is a common lunch spot for work. The white and blue interior makes you think greek, and when the owners ask for your order, you know it's greek. And good greek! The only place nearby that can compete for greek is the euro cafe at the Norwood airport. The gyro plate is fantastic, with well cooked strips of gyro meat complemented by lemon potatoes (incredible) and your choice of other sides. The beef kabob wrap is my favorite choice, since the charred beef tastes great with the yogurt sauce. The seating is adequate, but limited. Don't bring more than four or five, as you'll have to put several tables together. You also must seat yourself for lunch; I'm not sure about dinner, but I suspect it's the same. The restaurant is dropped down from five stars because of the baklava. It's good, but it's not as fresh as Euro Cafe. If it were a bit fresher baklava it would rate a fifth star. This is a great addition to the Westwood area, and adds some real good variety to the food options. I highly recommend it, especially for the quality vesus the price, which is pleasantly low.

The family that runs this place are really nice...the food is really good....but often it takes way too long! That's the main reason I drop it down to 4 stars, otherwise it should be a 5. For a lunch place, they should be able to get food out sooner.

I will certainly be back here! fresh, authentic, and tastey entrees mostly around $10 and that comes with sides and salad and pita - the works! everything is done in-house. its a small unassuming place, mostly for take-outs. eat-ins can expect cafeteria style trays with plastic plates and utensils. but for the price and the value, can you really complain? I certainly cant! in fact I quite like eating in here for one main reason: ITS SO FRIGGIN CLEAN!!! I love it! the kitchen is all open so you can see everything, and it is immaculate. it has a very homey feel, like stopping by your old spinster aunt's house for a quick bite - kinda like that. the lemon chicken soup was awesome served piping hot. too often are soups and tea these days served luke-warm and Im not feelin it. ok, I'll admit, I went low brow and got the gyro wrap. but it was the best gyro wrap Ive had in the city, hands down. heaping full of meat, it was really like a DOUBLE gyro! the salad and lemon potatoes were also awesome. the people who work here are really nice. I cant say enough good things about this place. in fact, I cant find anything even slightly amiss. if you go, you are guaranteed not to be disappointed, and thats absolutely worthy of a solid 5 stars from me!

This place was good, but it didn't wow me. Not sure why, but I guess I was expecting more from the interior (should have paid more attention to the earlier reviews). The food was good, but we should have taken it home - the place was a little creepy/vacant when we were there. They have a MUCH better greek salad than Fresco in Needham. This place is probably best for take-out. We would try it again for takeout, but we're not racing back (too many other places to try/explore). A-OK.

I come here semi-regulary at least once a month to grab a quick bite while running errands. Food is great, service is amazing. There are many place in the area that offer greek-cuisine, but this is the only one with the authentic menu.

New owners have replaced the rundown It's All Greek To Me. It's still just a few tables and mainly takeout. This is truly authentic Greek food. If you are lucky enough to walk in when they are serving the roasted lamb dinner, you're in for a homecooked spread Grecian style. If they aren't serving the Lamb special try the Pasticho, it's like Mousaka (baked eggplant ground lamb/beef) but with the add benefit of pasta. All dinner and lunch plates get your choice of potatoes or rice, salad, and pita. You'll be stuff for under 9 bucks. Thank Zeus for elastic waist bands, cuz I was busting out of my pants but I still wanted dessert. I'm a sucker for homemade Baklava, and they delivered. Sweet, but not drenched in honey/simple syrup, flaky, and super nutty. BYOB, which is fine since Bon Viant Gourmet Shop is a few doors down. My only gripe, I wish they had more seating. Great food and friendly service.

What a lovely addition to the Square! I love the people who run this place, the prices are spot on and the food is delicious. I would give it 5 stars but for two things: 1) the salad tomatoes are a nightmare, rock solid and tasteless and 2) the potatoes have too much oregano ( but that's my personal preference) Also they should have a larger selection of soft drinks with more diet sodas in the mix.

Went back a few weeks ago when I had a cold and was sick of Campbell's. The lemon chicken soup is incredible. You should go get a bowl, right now. And I made friends with a lovely woman also dining alone (although she was braver than I; I ordered take-out) - can't beat a nice local place with nice locals.

We LOVE Kouzina. My husband is mildly obsessed with their lamb chops and rightly so, they are always cooked perfectly and the portion is fantastic. Their chicken and rice soup with lemon broth is amazing! The pita bread is always soft and fresh and the calamari is also great. I don't think we've had one bad dish there. The family who owns it always has a smile on too which is nice.

Kouzina Estiatorio is rather new in Dedham. It is a very small restaurant that was until a year ago run by a different owner under a different name. The new Kouzina Estiatorio restaurant owners Xeno, Eleni and Nikos (replaced All Things Greek owners), make some of the best Greek food in the Boston Metro area! I recommend especially the freshly made (and NOT microwaved!) light perfectly flaky cheese dish Tiropita and the equally amazing flaky spinach dish Spanakopita. Their versions are second to none. Also try their custard dessert Galaktobouriko The other Greek restaurants in the area should use Kouzina as a supplier! Although they have ample tables to sit down, if you are a local take away is also easy and fast. And Kouzina Estiatorio also delivers. Dedham is quickly becoming a foodies paradise, with places like these and the already reknown bistro Isabella's across the street.

This is my first review for yelp. My wife found this restaurant through yelp and we were delighted. The people were very nice even when i asked for an explanation of half the menu. The food was excellent. I had the chicken souvlaki which was tasty, non-greasy with a hint of lemon. An excellent meal at an excellent price.

All homemade! It has been difficult for me to tear myself away from their moussaka long enough to try other things on the menu, but the lamb is tremendous as well. If you get an entre as a "plate", I suggest the lemon potatoes! That said though, my 8-year old loves the rice pilaf. Family run and VERY friendly. It's worth traveling for.

This is truly a great place. Not only is the family running the restaurant as nice and helpful as possible, but the food is excellent. Must haves are the gyro wrap, grilled chicken wrap, and the lemon potatoes.

Greek Cuisine

Greek food is a fine melody of the finest pressed olive oil, fresh fermented bread, colorful vegetables, juicy meat, sea food all cooked in spices and fresh rosemary. The people from Greek were great scholars who aimed to excel in everything they do. The results are quite visible in their food as they are the inventors of olive oil which is beneficial to health. Greeks also made different type of wines from the best quality of grapes fermented in controlled environment.

Today, you can find hundreds of restaurants offering authentic Greek food or popularly termed as Mediterranean cuisine in New York city alone. People wait in line to taste the exotic Greek dishes like saganaki, taramasalata, souvlaki, loukoumades, spanakopita, moussaka, and many more. One thing which most people like about these authentic Greek dishes is abundant use of lemon juice, olive oil, fresh rosemary and sea salt. A smart mix of few ingredients can virtually take you on the pebble streets of beautiful city of Greece.

For those who don't have time to enjoy fine dining should try tasting the famous souvlaki with pita which is type of meat dish, also a trademark Greek fast food. For those who are vegetarian, or vegan can try different versions of Greek Salad. So, if you wish to enjoy a hearty yet healthy meal that tastes divine then try dining at the best Greek restaurant in your city. Greek cuisine not only tastes good but also help maintain your body in a natural way through healthy diet.
