I found this place on Groupon after Natural Healing center in Cambridge failed to register my appointment few days ago that i made with them. I just made another appointment with them and will write a review about it after i visit.(Also found it on Groupon) So I decide find a place to eat since i still have two hours prior my working time. I went on Groupon and find this place. I gave them a call to make sure I can use the Groupon. The person who answered the phone was nice, but her sound was so low despite the fact i had my speaker on. Anyway after i finally found the place, I realize it was inside a hotel. I parked on the street because i have permit, then i realize I can park in the hotel parking later. I went in, the front desk AKA host was ok, She sounded impatient and trying to be patient for some reason(at least she is trying) I followed the host to my seat, there was only two other customers beside me and two wait staffs (i went there around 1:30PM) The waitress who served my was nice and attentive, pouring water consistently and asking me how is everything. Its not just the the waitress who serves me was nice, the waitress that was on other table came pour water for me and ask if everything was ok. I wasnt expect them to be so nice to me, but just ok due to the reviews and other factors, so that's a plus. I ordered a spicy salmon roll, uni-avo roll, and a Lobster, shrimp, scallop, salmon teppanyaki. The food was ok, nothing special about them. Nonetheless I believe they use at least good quality ingredients.(for a closely $30 teppanyaki it should be) The temperature for me was on the hot side, which i wish could be a bit cooler. Overall I would go there for social and fun, not for the food. Plus two stars for unexpected nice service, one star for the fresh food ingredient.

Service is bad. Food is bad. Place is cool. Most of the food doesnt worth that price. Luckly I used groupon there. Go and eat some turkish kebab instead of this.

Bisuteki is on your right when you enter the Marriott and they validate your parking for free in the hotel lot (which is rare to find around here). They surpassed my expectations! It was my birthday and we had 9 people at 830pm yesterday. The waiter explained that I can get any teppanyaki free if everyone else gets an entree. I ordered the Flaming/Erupting Volcano for 2 which is basically a yummy big scorpion bowl! $6 drinks are a steal in Boston too! Part of our party was late and the hibachi chef was patient with us and waited until everyone arrived. He was funny and talented and made me the meal with Lobster, Scallops and Shrimp, which I was surprised was free and delicious too. He made an heart out of eggs which was cute and it was fun attempting and failing to land Zucchini and Sake in our mouths. At the end they even gave me a cheesecake with a candle! We were there after they closed and took a while to figure out how to split the bill. We felt terrible but they did not pressure us at all! I appreciated their efforts to make my night memorable, which they definitely did!

This is a great Teppanyaki spot. Luckily, we had an awesome chef named Hunter who was really sweet and fun. Here's why you might like Bisuteki: 1. Drink descriptions are hilarious! 2. Good prices for hibachi! 3. Cocktails are about $6 a drink which I think is a steal compared to Dallas prices 4. Great service 5. Very clean Worth a visit if you're in the area and craving Japanese food!

Great service from the wait staff to the super talented chefs! Definitely a must if you're looking for an out of the ordinary, fun night out. Big thanks to the entire Bisuteki team for making my loved one's birthday so memorable. I appreciate it!

Went during lunch hour and was pleasantly surprised. I thoroughly enjoyed the food and the service! The amount of food is INCREDIBLE for the price! My plate was about $12 and it included fried rice, hibachi vegetables, a whole chicken breast (hibachi style) and a steak (also hibachi style). The sauces and seasoning were spot on. The only thing is that I would've liked more soy sauce on the rice but I prefer to have to add some more than have rice that is drenched in it. Definitely recommend!

Not terribly jazzed by this place. The food wasn't very flavorful, and our chef wasn't very enthusiastic. Granted, the chef at the next table was VERY enthusiastic, and watching him gyrate his hips toward the young families made me really uncomfortable. We came for a friend's birthday, and they messed up the check a couple times before giving us the correct discount. Hibachi places are fairly uniform, and this one simply didn't stand out from the pack. I may go back for another flaming volcano bowl, though.

  • Jennifer Y.

Waiter was hard to understand. I think she gave up on us and asked his colleague to take over our table. Also, I witnessed a customer service issue and the manager never went over to their table to alleviate the issue. He just stands there without doing anything much. Hibachi was meh. I've had better but since I had a groupon + a decent discount, it was OK On your birthday, show up with your ID and you eat for free. On Sundays, bring your kids in under the age of 12 and they also eat for free.

Best Japanese restaurant I've been to in a hotel Sushi was solid and the Tapanyake was entertaining Service very friendly though my appetizer came after my entree. Since they were so nice I didn't mind I'm just happy to have a good meal in a Courtyard Marriott

The one of the worst restaurants I have ever been to. Uncomfortable seat, and I have no idea what their waitress were doing. It looks like a fast food restaurant and I believe that the food I cook would be much better than they did. On the other hand, this restaurant named as" steak house"! BUT THEY DONT SERVE STEAK! WTF You will be regretting if you go there for meal! A "good" way to waste your money!

I went here for my birthday, on your birthday you get a free entree with the purchase of more food. We had the surf and turf: lobster and filet mignon which was free for my b day, then ordered two sushi rolls. All of the food was great, service was great, and I got free cheesecake too! We will come back here for more birthdays, but it's also a good teppanyaki-sushi place. Highly recommended

Absolutely awful. I feel crazy for putting up with the terrible service and Chef at this restaurant. We should have left, it just got worst and worst as the night went on. First we placed drink and sushi orders at the beginning, which did not come out for half hour. Our waitress helped everyone else it seemed but our tables. When the food come out it was wrong, we ordered California rolls with no egg, egg was on. It took them 5 minutes to bring out the order with no egg, why not the first time? Our chef was nice but did not listen to what we asked, we had a friend that is vegan and one that was on lent. The chef continued to cook everything with butter, we specifically asked for him not too on their orders. Drink refills also took forever. To top off the night, it was my friends daughters birthday, we were a large party of about 20 people. The birthday girl was celebrating her 8th birthday, she was supposed to get her meal for free. When the check came out, over a $500 bill (With tip included = kick in the teeth) they did not take here meal off, my friend asked to have it taken off the bill but our Terrible hostess/waitress would not because we could not prove we were celebrating the girls birthday, she wanted proof! Asked if the girl had ID or a birth certificate. Who carries a birth certificate with them? And last time I checked 8 year olds do not have photo ID. 1star review is too generous, I'm really upset and feel terrible for my friends and their daughter and how she was treated on her special day.

I have been to Bisuteki many times and I see it in a decline. The food tastes good. It depends on the chef you get, and I've had them all, but generally the quality and flavor are good. Compared to other hibachi places, you do get clear mushroom soup, salad, and 3 shrimp. And of course rice, vegetables, and bean sprouts. Service is a mess. The waitresses hound you to spend more. If you have an alcoholic drink, they'll be around you every minute, but if it's water, you may as well phone them to get their attention. On my last visit, I was explicitly told by the waitress that the tip is split among the waitresses and chefs. I received that in bad taste, an attempt only to get me to tip more. What your restaurant chooses to do with tips is your business.

I have been here for lunch several times because it is fast and convenient. But there is absolutely nothing good nor particularly bad about this place. It just is what it is......a fairly bland and boring hotel restaurant. Maybe better for dinner, but I doubt it. If you are just hungry and tired it's fine. But if it's sushi or a Japanese steakhouse you want, then I'd suggest finding a real one.

I went there with my wife and 3-year-old daughter on a rainy fall night and it was a great meal and activity. The cost was high (~$25 per entree for food you would probably pay $12 for off a take-out menu, kids portion was cheaper) but the teppanyaki grilling performance is well worth the extra money for entertainment value alone. The staff really could not have been more courteous and friendly. They were especially sweet to my daughter. The teppanyaki chef asked if she would be afraid of the fire and asked about food allergies for the table. His cooking routine was very entertaining, and he even took my phone and took a picture of us! My daughter loved the show and even ate a lot of the food (she is a fussy eater but she gave the soup and teriyaki chicken a try and she really liked it). She also loved the virgin strawberry daiquiri. Fully validated (free) parking.

I've been to many Japanese steak houses. This one is a little small & quaint. I sat in the 'lounge' area as I was by myself for a late dinner. The bartender was very nice. The food was mediocre at best. The soup was good, the salad had too much lettuce & the meal well.....was bland. The steak was cooked perfectly but had no flavor to it. The ginger sauce was nothing special. The mustard sauce was spicy to my taste. The veggies were fresh. I am not a fan of the bean spouts. The fried rice was flavorless. I am only in town for a night. Would I eat here again?? Probably if I was staying at the hotel again. Otherwise I would not go out of my way to come here again.

I've been here a couple of times and have no complaints. The hibachi chefs are great and certainly very entertaining. I ordered some shrimp tempura maki (from the kitchen) and the hibachi salmon. It was just excellent. I would definitely go back. Be sure to make reservations, gets pretty packed on weekends.

When the cook dropped the spatula on the second flip I should have known...the only trick he actually pulled off was the flaming, steaming tower of onions that was meant to look like a volcano. I was very disappointed in the rest of the evening, however, the food was adequate, portions sizes were fine but nothing really blew my socks off in the taste department. The soup was a bowl of water they waved a mushroom and and a piece of bacon over and stuck a spoon in! The salad was a little soggy, the dressing didn't have much flavor at all. The shrimp appetzers weren't even cut (no show with flipping the the tails!) so I had to try to cut them with the side of my fork or choke on a jumbo shrimp (and look like a real OXY-moron!!!) The chicken was dry, and scallops were overcooked. The sushi was nothing to write home about. The service was OK, but, again...nothing special. For $150 for 4 people and only 1 achoholic beverage in the tab...a little pricey for this dud!

I've decided to leave a review for this while it's still fresh in my mind. Or rather the taste of the food still hasn't left my mouth and I find it slightly disconcerting. One of my friends just turned the dirty 30 and had been wanting to go to hibachi forever for her birthday. We kept it quiet and ended up surprising her yesterday evening with just what she wanted - hibachi. It was my first time going to anything even remotely like this, so that part of it was pretty neat. We got hit with a bad snow storm yesterday and they were still open and accommodating to our party of 7. (You should read that as: The place was absolutely dead and we didn't share our table with anyone else) Our chef was mildly entertaining, even if I was not prepared to let him throw food, or squirt anything into my mouth. Just.. no. I found myself contemplating just how filthy the top of the stove he cooked on was. I mean.. how often do they clean those things? I watched the food cook and it started to make me feel a bit queasy. The shrimp I ordered was done first, and it tasted a bit like rubber. A few minutes later the vegetables were done and then the bean sprouts. Everything cooked at it's own pace causing everything else to get cold by the time came to eat it all together. During this time the waitress never came back to check on us, and I was dying for another beer.. or water.. or anything liquid (except for what he wanted to squirt in my mouth.. remember.. no..) since you had to ask for water. After he finished cooking he just wiped down the grill and moved on. I really hope they do more extensive cleaning between guests... Since it was our friends birthday she got her meal complimentary after showing them her ID. She also got a completely out of tune birthday song sung to her, at the expense of my eardrum that had the gong right next to it. The positives? It was a good atmosphere for a large party. They comped her meal and gave her a free piece of cheesecake. We also brought our own cake that they gave us plates for, and even let us goof around exchanging gifts. They however did take forever to bring the check then even longer to ring it up. I still can't quite shake the bad chemical taste the food left in my mouth, even a full 24 hours later. My girlfriend hasn't stopped talking about how whatever she eats has a plastic chicken taste to it. So I guess we won't be going back there. Overall? Expensive. Food isn't worth it, and the atmosphere isn't worth the price either.

It is better buying food from trader joe's locating next to the restaurant if you are tired to go out to eat. It's no taste at all and really expensive. The restaurant is run by Chinese, so it's more like Chinese food-ish.

Although i am not a fan of Japanese food but it was so nice and tasty, i cant complain about anything i ate. We ordered scallop, shrimp and calamari from teppanyaki menu, they served it with soup, salad and fried rice. I would go there again.

I'm not a picky eater, and had low expectations, but the food here was nearly unedible. If i had not ordered room service I would have sent everything back to the kitchen. I'll spare everyone the details, but a 1 star is generous for my meal tonight.

The place was nice and our chef was extremely accommodating and friendly as well as fun and talented. The food was good ( especially my filet mignon) and it was cooked perfectly at medium rare. The only complaint on the food was that they didn't Ask if certain vegetables were okay to put in the rice they just threw every veggie in there and then you're left to pick out piece by piece any vegetables you don't like and the biggest disappointment.... NO WHITE SAUCE!!!! Most bisuteki have that white mayo based sauce that brings the food all together, they did not, they only had mustard and ginger sauce. BUT, what ruined the whole experience was the service. Our waitress was rude, looked tired and aggravated for no reason. Never brought us any water. Never came over once to check on us. Took forever to give us the check. Our scorpion bowl tasted like the cheapest dark rum available with nasty from concentrate cheap OJ and mostly ice. We told her and she gave us a confused dirty look and started talking another language ( badly about us) in front of us rolling her eyes to he manager. At least the manager took it off. But she was rude too. Extremely. Then, she kept reminding us the original price because we had a groupon. We all know why she was doing that was to remind us what to tip on!! How could you expect me to tip on the full amount after that experience?! She's lucky I tipped at all!! Never going back. I would've given 1 star if it wasn't for the amazing chef!

I'm so over these japanese steakhouse places, the food lacks flavor. I can pretty much go to sarku japan, or that thai place at the mall and get the same if not better quality food, and at a quality price. The only good part about this atrocious experience was the free meal and a mediocre cheesecake for the birthday lady. Pretty good location, restaurant part of a hotel. limited on site parking. Dishes range from $20-$30 Ambiance, WHAT ambiance. Our chef was mundane we were looking at other tables because we were so bored. He didn't even talk to us. His name is Mike. Yes Mike I just blew up your spot. To start off a couple of members got crab rangoon. It was too crispy and stale. My friend got calamari, it was rubbery no seasoning, she's had better. For our main meal, a couple of us got white rice which was cold and MIKE wouldn't even fry the white rice to warm it up. Seriously all you have to do is put the rice on the stove for 5 seconds COME on. I got salmon. Lacked flavor, I didn't like the sauce they used, I would tell you what sauce they used but MIKE didn't talk to us. The cheesecake was sub-par due to the crust. This place gets a D. POOR POOR POOR!

Okay. It was my Dad's birthday yesterday and he chose for a group of family and friends to come here for dinner. When I arrived early with my husband, we sat at the bar to wait. The place was empty and the hostess was no where to be found. The bartender seemed bored. He sat behind the bar watching tv in between serving us. We ordered the vegetable tempura appetizer to hold us over. It was very under cooked and tasted bland. While we waited for our party I noticed the hostess sitting around at various tables in the bar area, playing with her phone. I never saw her clean or seem to keep herself busy. During this time I read the reviews here and became nervous to eat. Now, I know what you're thinking.. I read bad reviews so now I just have a negative mood about the experience I haven't quite had yet. Well, we sat at our table when the rest of our party showed up and put in our drink order. The drinks came quickly and we placed our order. They gave us each a packaged wet napkin to clean our hands which was dripping wet when I opened it and smelled disgusting!!! I couldn't get over how badly it made my hands smell so I went to the bathroom to wash my hands! I couldn't help but notice that the grill was not clean at all. I was assured that the grill would be cleaned before and after our meal. The chef came out quickly and was friendly but seemed nervous and quiet. As he pulled out his spatulas to twirl around we noticed a black thing fall from it and onto the grill. I leaned in to see if it was a bug and another person pointed it out asking him to clean the grill. I am not sure if it was a bug but that's what it looked like. My husband tried to calm me down but I was nervous. I only ordered fried rice and sweet potato maki since I was afraid to eat any of the meat here and I am extremely allergic to shellfish. The rice was just okay, and the sweet potato maki was decent. Everyone else seemed to enjoy their food and ha no complaints. After our chef left and we were about to leave I leaned over and took a peak at the floor in between the grills. I was absolutely disgusted and was surprised I didn't throw up right there, not that they'd clean it anyway because it looked as though it's never been cleaned. The floor was covered in old rotten food, new food and DEAD BUGS. Everywhere. I'm telling you people, I can only imagine what the friggin kitchen looks like. As we walked out I noticed that the dining room seemed to have filled up a little more and wondered if I was the only person to notice the disgusting grill and floor. I went home imagining the chefs in the kitchen swatting away cockroaches off the food. (I have a pretty good imagination.) SUMMARY: This place is a health hazard and I can't believe it's still running. It's FILTHY. The food is not that good and it's EXPENSIVE considering what you're eating and experiencing. I'm nauseas just thinking about it.

Terrible. My meal came out wrong and it took FOREVER for a replacement. Eventually we had to cancel my order. In the meantime my son was waiting for my meal so his got cold. When I said I didn't want to pay for either entree, the manager and waitress argued with me! Quality of food was bad to begin with and we were made to pay for a cold meal. Please, find a better place to bring your family.

Aw I loved this restaurant! My bf surprised me with a group of friends here last night for a congratulatory dinner, and I had a great time. We sat at a table for ten, and luckily we had exactly ten people in our party so we didn't have to share a table. When I opened the menu I was surprised at how cheap the drink prices were. $6 for specialty cocktails and $5 for wine, albeit the cheap kind but still good. They made our drinks pretty strong. The food prices are also really decent. $19 for the steak entree and it comes with so much food! Soup was good, salad was good, and the entree was delicious. I couldn't believe how stuffed I was. The chef was also hilariously entertaining, throwing egg shells into his hat and tossing food into people's mouths. I was laughing the whole time. I don't have many complaints about this place. Our waitress was nice too. I think they could have jazzed up the sauces a little though.

I just moved over from the West coast, where we have Benihana and they are the place you go. We have a tradition in my family where we would go on our birthday and you got a free dinner. I think Bisuteki does it? Not sure- but my daughter turned 6 yrs old and I was afraid we wouldn't have been able to do our traditional teppanyaki dinner. After looking through all the restaurants in the area, Bisuteki was the closest to Benihana and it was great. We enjoyed dinner, she got a birthday cheesecake and she was thrilled. We'll be back for the rest of our birthdays.

I went here with a large group of classmates (extremely large with ~50 people). The place had accommodated another large party right before us, though notably both groups made reservations more than a month in advance. We were in and out in ~1 hour 20 minutes, which was impressive given the group size. The mixed drinks were a little slow to arrive, but I survived. The food was mediocre. Specifically, the fried rice was pretty good, the veggies were okay, and the chicken tasted rubbery. Also, the presentation was just okay compared to what I've experienced at other restaurants. Overall, don't think I'll be back. Not a terrible experience, but just very underwhelmed by the whole thing.

Against my better judgement I had lunch because I was hungry upon arrival to the hotel. Place was empty which is always a concern when you think about them selling sushi. Waitress was almost annoyed I was there and I practically had to beg to get her to refill my tea (which was awful anyway). Take a cab and go somewhere else. Shame on Marriott desk for suggesting. Food quality was just "ok".

We actually had a pretty good time here. The food and drinks were not very good (very salty), but it was fun to listen to the chef's corny jokes and we were entertained by the gong ringing happy birthday song that was sang to the kids also at our table. I would come again though especially to treat some young kids.. they love this stuff.

This was my first time eating Habachi and it was a fun experience. The chefs are hilarious and made us have a good time. The miso soup tasted great, but the ginger salad tasted a bit gross (to each his own). The fried rice and veggies tasted just fine. I'd recommend them (only $2 extra). The steak I ordered was way too well done and therefore lacked flavor. This was disappointing considering that it was over $20. Now I would give this a 3 star if it wasn't for how bad our waitress was. She was a bit rude during the meal. When she was ringing up the bill, she automatically added the 18% gratuity even though we were only 3 people. After we complained, we split the bill. Afterwards, she spent the next few minutes hovering over us waiting to see what we'd write for the tip. Meanwhile, the group next to us was 8 people and the 18% got automatically included. Then, when she gives them the bill to sign, she circles in pen the tip field (note that the 18% had already been added) and said that they should add a tip there. A lot of people don't realize when the 18% has been automatically added so she was trying to trick them into doubling their tip. After this, my friends and I decided to leave smallish tips (around 10%) because we were not happy with the service. She complains to my friend and berates him for leaving less than 15%. After he goes to leave the restaurant, she follows him to the door and continues to complain about the tip and yells at him.

Great food, but the real gem was the cooking itself, which in this kind of establishment is a performance. I was amused, I never seen anything that amazing. I've seen it on TV, but never in real life. 10/10

Very disappointed with Peter the manager who we spoke to after dinner experience! They Do NOT CARE if customers are satisfied or not.... Nothing he can do he says.... We've been going here past 5 years when they offer free birthday dinner and we been doing that within 3 days of it. I wanted to let my daughter feel she can treat me to a dinner that she could pay for. Apparently, Peter said certain individuals got exceptions BUT there's nothing he could do for me. SOOOO Certain customers gets privileges ... If u don't get special treatment... YOURE NOT SPECIAL enough that they CARE about YOU! I told Peter I will do review about tonight's experience and he shrugged as didn't give a SHIT! He said go ahead! And here it is!! Also we order steak RARE.. It was med to barely Ned rare ( slight pink only)...told Peyer also... He didn't care still! Told him that we will not be coming back here again and will not recommend this place to our acquaintances ever again! Again he really didn't care... Just nodded... What kind if caring manager is he??? Bisuteki ... Your going DOWN!!

I can speak only for dine-in hotel service; I've only stepped into the actual restaurant once, and that was for drinks only. My parents stay at the hotel when they come visit, so we tend to order in from Bisuteki. Having tried a variety of their dishes I can say they are consistently decent. I recently had the baby octopus which was excellent. I also had the New Scallop Maki, which was great. The steak teriyaki and some of the other rolls I've had were okay. Overall the food here is good, but not quite great.

I know what you're thinking. Bisuteki is like a theme park: high on kitsch, low on quality. Part of that is right. The kitsch is still strong, with the hibachi chefs doing their utensil juggling, squirting sake into willing diners' mouths, and lighting things on fire. Maybe you're not in the mood to watch out-of-towners mangle sushi served in model boats. Maybe you don't enjoy birthday cakes being delivered with a gong accompaniment. Maybe you have never ordered a drink with the word "Volcano" in it. Maybe you are a serious student of Japanese culture. Maybe you are a devotee of High Culinary Art. Then what the hell are you doing here? However, if you have a bunch of nonjudgmental friends, preferably those who enjoy serious drinking, you could have an amusing time sitting around a hibachi table together and taking in the show. The funny thing is, my husband and I had had a tough day and were in no mood for merriment. We sat near the sushi chef instead and watched him go to town. His work was just fine, if not refined, and the sushi we tried was solid--tasty and expertly constructed. Throw in a couple of 20 oz Sapporo's, and we felt almost human by the end of the night. A few cons, apart from the quasi-tackiness: The service was polite, but definitely trying to push more expensive options. I found the broken-English cocktail descriptions borderline offensive. And, on a lighter note, the midwestern football coach next to me did not know how to use chopsticks and was trying anyway. I had to look away on occasion, but he was having the time of his life.

The only -- and I mean ONLY reason I'm giving this 2 stars is because it is an excellent place to bring the kids. This is really the only reason to even go to this soulless establishment. But the kids loved how the cook threw food for them to catch in their mouths, how he lit the food on fire, etc. Otherwise, skip it. OH, and go with the kids on someone's birthday, because the birthday person will get a free meal.

A solid three star experience. You don't come here for the food - you come here for the fun. And fun it certainly was. The drinks are affordable (I paid about 4.50 for a glass of wine) and they have a lot of exotic cocktails to choose from too. Our whole table got entrees that were cooked in front of us. I'm pretty sure it's not worth it to come here if you're not going to do that. I got the Genji special (shrimp and chicken). I have to say, it was a lot more food than I thought it would be. Mediocre miso soup, salad and rice, shrimp, chicken, veggies. I definitely had to douse the food in the sauces that come with it for it to have any flavor, but the shrimp and chicken were cooked perfectly. The chef was a lot of fun. My favorite part was when he squirted sake in my friends' mouths. It was definitely a delightful show. They brought a piece of relatively good cheesecake out for my fiance since it was his birthday and sang a hilarious rendition of happy birthday that involved striking a gong directly next to his ear. Really great. I'm not sure if I would come back, but this was a fun and different dining experience.

This is more a 2.5 stars, but it is not an option. I come here because of my wife, she has been coming here since childhood and still looks like a little girl when the chefs do their thing. I must admit, these guys are very entertaining and do a great job. I would give the place a higher ranking but the service is TERRIBLE!! What do I mean? This place is a spot where you come ready to share a table, no issue with that, who brings a party of 20 or more? Regularly? Not everyone. But here is my issue with last Friday (4/27/2012). Mom-in-Law, Wife and I were seated, washed our hands with the hot towel, and sat there for 10 minutes, a large party showed and was quickly disenchanted with the seating arrangements, mainly us three sitting in the same area as them. Their first complaint brought a solid, sorry no can help you, it is how things are done here (something like that), from the hostess. But 5 minutes later a gentleman (acting manager??), came and asked us to move to another table with a family of 5 because we would be able to order sooner since the new group was going to take longer... YEAH RIGHT HOMEY! Anyway, we moved. Guess who got their food first?? Not the 3 who got a second hot towel hand wash, not to mention asked if we wanted drinks... AGAIN, which we pointed out, "No thanks, we have them"... eye roll." Your people service is more important folks at Bisuteki. My wife will continue to go, but with her Mom. Bald guy is no King, but lets be honest about why your moving me. Put the folks on blast, "Excuse me, this party does not want to share a table despite everyone else in the restaurant knowing the drill. Can you please move to the table behind you so that the privileged youth here is not uncomfortable being around other hungry humans..."

I didn't eat here so I can't comment on the food but since I'm staying at the hotel I popped in for a drink. One glass of wine $5.30, I gave the nice guy behind the bar $20, the woman he gave it too brought me $14 change. I did point out to the guy that I wasn't leaving a tip since I didn't get all of my change. He did want to resolve the issue but I just told him to keep the change. Maybe she thought that as a Brit I wouldn't know the difference (or wouldnt know to tip) but I've lived in and around Boston over 12 years and know how to check my change. Since I'd nursed my wine while waiting for my room to be cleaned I would have tipped $2, as it was they robbed me of 70c. EDITED to add Later in the evening we went in for a nightcap, the check was $28.75 and wouldn't you know that in the whole of the restaurant they didn't have a single quarter!!! The guys exact words were "Sorry I don't have 25c for your change". I wonder how much they scam out of customers by not giving the exact change? :(

A fan whirred lazily in the background, circulating stale air in a feeble attempt to make the restaurant somewhere you wanted to be. The hotel carpet squished gently beneath my feet, its vibrant hue a clear thing of the past. Our waitress, in all her neutral and monotonous glory, tossed us a couple of menus in our direction before she moseyed away. This was far from an exciting lunch, but it sufficed for my sushi craving. They had some interesting rolls with spicy mayo and tempura and fish roe and all that jazz. You're not going to be wowed by the food and your meal will not be memorable, at least not if you go on a weekday at noon. I think this experience was more like the hangover the morning after a fun night...you know, the kind where you're sort of like "blahhh but this is life so I'll just keep on truckin'".

im seriously wavering between a 2 or 3 star even as i'm writing this. I think what's making this restaurant a bare pass is the fact that the food here is pretty good. What i DID NOT like about this restaurant: 1. Service SUCKS: our hostess was nice, so was the bartender; but our waitress and our chef was horrible and didnt speak a lot of english and always looked angry. our waitress kept getting our orders wrong and we only found out as the chef's making the food but the chef refuses to fix the orders until he is able to wave down the waitress, who is never able to be seen. at one point, while he was serving the fried rice and missed me, i said, i asked for the fried rice, and he said "no you ordered WHITE RICE, not FWIDE RICE" I'm sorry, WHAT? if you speak with an accent, do you hear with an accent too? because you are telling me i ordered FWIDE rice and thats why there's a mix up? i just dont understand why he was correcting me. After ten minutes, another waitress finally came and told me they can no longer make the fried rice on the hibachi grill and must make it in the kitchen if i still want the upgrade, and stood there staring at me while i had to make a choice. my boyfriend said he'll trade with me and let me have the hibachi one....and they still charged us for it...For the record, neither the hibachi or the back kitchen fried rice were worth the 1.50 upgrade. AUTOMATIC 18% GRATUITY for the 7 of us for the horrible service annoyed me 2. LOUDNESS: for a person's birthday, they have this loud asian bong that they would hit (like in chinese new year) really loud and nonstop while carryinig a bday cake from the kitchen to the person's table. Ok, one time is okay. twice it's getting a little annoying. Three times is actually really annoying. FOURTH AND FIFTH TIME?? how many ppl are having birthdays? i can't hear myself chew nor can i have a conversation...all i have the entire meal is pounding in my head. otherwise, i guess the place was okay. The chefs all put on a show, but we had a crappy chef who lacked enthusiasm and sounded like he was reading off a script very lazily, and looked like he couldnt wait to get out. I'm not interested in the show to begin with, but it was pretty unprofessional. I saw another chef across a different table and he was a lot more interesting. i ordered the sukiyaki steak (19) and my boyfriend ordered the steak and scallop (25). The soup and salad that came with the meal was PHENOMENAL, so was the hibachi shrimp that came as appetizer. I loved the hibachi vegetables too. Both of our steak was overcooked, and the sukiyaki steak was not good. The normal sirloin steak looks like steaktips, but the sukiyaki steak was essentially a flat piece of beef wrapping a LOT of scallion. As they cooked it they slice it up into what looks like beef on a chinese broccoli and beef rice noodle. The fried rice tasted like too much soy sauce, but the hibachi scallops and bean sprouts were also phenomenal. the drinks were not good. i had a pina colada and it was creamy, hard on alcohol, but not sweet at all, which was weird. we got a spicy salmon roll as a appetizer as we waited to be seated (they refuse to seat you if your party is not all here) and it looked like it was a starving maki, but it turned out to taste pretty great. i'm not interested in coming back to this restaurant, but my boyfriend enjoyed it so i might have to come back.

A Japanese steakhouse owned and ran by Chinese who know little about Japanese culture and cuisine. The prices are outrageous and ingredients are obviously not of that quality. I ordered many things, but it was the rice on the maki that totally turned me off. The dish or the rice was either made the night before because it was so cold and old that I had to take it off in order to somewhat enjoy it. The vegetables were overcooked, sprouts smelled and tasted old or spoiled, and tofu was so bland. The miso soup was too salty to eat and only luke warm, kinda like bathwater. I should say that the tempura was crisp with a right amount of batter. The seaweed salad and yaki soba noodles were good, too, but the mushrooms tasted like they had been bathed in gasoline...

Finally I get chance to dine in this restaurant. I would say it is pretty decent consider it is in Cambridge location. Originality is close but not close enough. Unfortunately Bisuteki chef was a trainer, it wasn't much entertaining, but food is good. You can bring friends who never experience teppanyaki. It funs and good for once. Of course if you travel to Asia and already experience teppanyaki, this place is incomparable.

I'm so glad Bisuteki re-opened! I received a grand opening coupon-filled menu at my door. And they noted some lovely deals such as CHILDREN UNDER 12 EAT FREE on Sunday! Well, I don't have kids, but live in a kid-filled neighborhood. Good for them! And the Bisuteki is such a fun family place with the chef flippin eggs, setting onions on fire, and tossing partially charred peppers into the mouths of hungry onlookers. Right? Well, my experience involves (thus far) doing some pick up sushi from the establishment. I had to wait a little bit, but I was pretty early on arrival as it were... The place was ridiculously packed with parties of bachelorettes and families. A mad house! There wasn't any room for me at the bar (as it also serves as a waiting room). *sad face* But I have to say, while I waited patiently, I remained entertained by the Teppenyaki masters, apprentices, and ... whatever, well, you know, those guys with the crazy colored hats. The food was definitely makin the tummy growl, but when I finally got home to enjoy my sashimi dinner including like 18 pieces of raw fish, miso soup, and a side salad, I was delightfully satisfied by a fresh tasty fish selection. Bravo, Bisuteki, for satisfying my starving belly with decent sushi. Of course I'm going back for Teppenyaki, but not without first reserving a seat! Or, if it's too jam packed, the sushi bar is a decent second option.

No. Just, no. I LOVE hibachi grills, and this was more disappointing than a fake tranny. They couldn't get our orders right, asked us every five minutes if we wanted a drink (we went here hungover, right at noon, and while sometimes I need some hair of the dog, their overpriced drinks weren't worth it), and the food was pretty poor.

Me and my boyfriend made reservations for 5pm, which is super early compared to other reviewers. We parked, came in and was immediately seated. The waitresses/hostess was very nice. At about 5:06 a LOT of people came in so we were glad we got their early AND made reservations. We started off with the flaming volcano for two. It was like a scorpion bowl but with a mini volcano in the center that had a mini blue flame. Really kool. The drink was STRONG. They certainly don't hold back. So you get what you paid for (12.90 for a two person) Then we ordered our food. I got the Tokyo and my BF got some other one. they were both about $28 but you got Three different meats. Mine came with chicken, stake and shrimp, and they were all AMAZING. Especially the shrimp. his came with Salmon, scallops and lobster. which was all equally amazing. There was just SO much food that neither of us could finish. Together I brought home basically a whole plate. the chef was kool and fun. But at Hibachi grill, the chef is as much fun as you put in. if you're excited and clap and have fun, it's even MORE fun, especially with a group... the other strangers in our group just ate while he cooked, so i felt bad when i was the only one clapping. all in all this place is really great and I'll definitely come back with a group. with a reservation and everything.

I went here with my boyfriend's parents for their anniversary. I liked it. The chefs are funny and I thought it was endearing when ours messed up (just once though). The whole experience was pleasant and I had a very fun time. We were not rushed, even though people were waiting to be seated. My scallops were delicious also. I would def. go back again! I really don't understand why this place gets such negative reviews. I mean, its not No. 9 or anything, but it's still a great idea for a date night. =]

Icky. The food is not good. Even the rice was gross - they also said they didnt have brown rice but served it at another table. The show was okay, not worth the price. I would never go back. The chicken and shrimp were both flavorless, and the dipping sauces made me nauseous. Overall a $30 evening for nothing. And they rushed us to leave. When I went fill out the tip line, the server stood over my shoulder yelling in my ear that he has to share the tip with the chef. I'm like yea, that's why I'm even giving this much. Losers.

1 star for hostess rudeness, 3.5 stars for the food/experience. We had a reservation for 15 people on a Saturday night for 6:30. Three of us arrived right on time (6:25) and were the first people there, so we went to check in. The hostesses were rude to us right off the bat (would a smile, or common decency, kill you? I thought it was your job to be welcoming?); upon us saying we were the first to arrive and just wanted to check in, they told us that if our entire party didn't show up soon, they'd give up our table. Way to be a giant b*itch to us after we were polite as heck to you, kool. (And it wasn't even 6:30 yet.) Strike 1. As people trickled in (everyone was there by about 6:45), we realized there was a last-minute addition to our party and we would now need a table for 16. After telling this to the hostesses, they freaked out on us; said a table for 15 would not fit 16, that we could not squish, that they would be giving our reservation away and we'd have to put our names back in, and we would need to break up our party into two groups for two separate tables, and we'd have to wait about 20 minutes. All in an extremely rude and abrasive way, mind you. At this point, we should have left, but there were 16 of us and Bisuteki is sort of in the middle of nowhere, so just trying to find a place that accommodated that number of people on a Saturday night, never mind getting the whole group over to that place, wasn't really worth it, so we decided to stay and wait, and went upstairs to the hotel bar to have a drink. Flash forward to about 7:45, after multiple "20 more minutes/5 more minutes" (lies!), and a group member even defecting from our party and skipping dinner because she had somewhere to be (that she could have gotten to if we had sat at 6:30 like we were supposed to) thereby bringing our table back to 15 (too late), and we get seated (at a 16-person table, not 2 8-tops), with only a cursory "sorry". Lady, I've worked in food service, and while I understand you don't have control over what tables you have available, you sure as hell have control over your words and actions (and tone of voice). NOT APPRECIATED. On to the food: I'm a sucker for hibachi so was pretty excited about this meal, preliminary rudeness notwithstanding. Our table had 2 chefs, one of which was a bit more animated than the other, both of which seemed more reserved compared to the other crazy chefs in the restaurant (or others I've seen in the past) and barely did any cool tricks (I'm pretty sure the onion volcano singed our chef's eyebrows, oops), but who both did an OK job entertaining and an excellent job with the food IMO. I had the hibachi salmon dinner ($19.99 all inclusive, a great deal), which comes with the usual onion soup/ginger salad/3 shrimp app/rice (I got fried)/veggies, and my 2 giant fillets were cooked perfectly, not to mention the shrimp and fried rice, it was delicious (and the soup/salad/veggies were good as well). I love the dipping sauces they give you, although you didn't necessarily need them because things were flavorful enough on their own... man that was some tasty stuff, I'd go back anytime just for the food. Everyone else was really satisfied as well, with almost all of us getting a full hibachi dinner of some kind (chicken, steak, shrimp, scallops, combos, etc), and the odd man out getting some uber-fresh sushi to munch on. Portions were huge, most of us rolled out of there in food comas (especially those who ordered themselves extra apps and/or fried ice cream for dessert), and there was a large menu selection of not only hibachi dinner options but other typical Asian fare as well. Aside from that, we had a flaming drink (cool to look at, tasted like a typical scorpion bowl), and because it was a birthday celebration for both myself and my friend, they brought out cheesecake for the both of us and sang us Happy B-day using a gong (our friend even got to use the gong). Service was a bit slow in the beginning getting everyone's various drinks with some waters forgotten, but after that the waitresses were pretty on-top of things. It's a bummer this is the only hibachi place of its kind within the Boston area, so those of us sans cars don't have much of a choice. If you do have a car, head to Hibachi Steak House in Norwood, it's *much* better. But if you're going to Bisuteki, know that things can be very inconsistent, and steel yourself to deal with all the crap before you can enjoy a decent meal.

The food is umremarkable but solid. However, 3 of the last 4 times I have tried to pick up I have been told the food would be ready in 15-20 min and it took over 40 minutes. I did not enjoy waiting, particularly repeatedly.

I went here for some quick and convenient sushi, and didnt hit up the hibachi side. Service was friendly and quick and clearly catered to the hotel crowd of conferences and out of towners. Definitely not a place to hang out for a long period of time, unless at the bar with some colleagues where you would have to make your own fun, or i am guessing on the hibachi side with a table of friends for a special occasion. It was more hotel restaurant than restaurant that happened to be in a hotel. The miso soup seemed generic but was one of the best that I've ever bad, a sharp contrast to the weather and a prophylactic that probably saved me from an oncoming cold. Sushi was fresher than in most cities and had some good taste, although they let the spicier sauces overpower the sushi in some cases. I had a mixed sushi plate. Good drinks including tea. Overall was relatively inexpensive, which is a welcome change from most big city traveling hotels.

This place is alright. It's hibachi, and tastes fine, but is nothing spectacular. Their drinks are good, though! I haven't had their sushi, so can't comment on that.

Well I have to say that the first impression of Bisuteki was not that good. As other yelpers have mentioned the hostesses seemingly have no interest in giving people a good feeling about being at their restaurant. And when I asked how long we'd have to wait after our 7:30 reservation on a Saturday, I was met with almost bewilderment as if they didn't know how to answer that question. Luckily, that was the only negative part of the evening- the rest of our experience was great. The drinks at the bar while we waited for our table were strong and tasty. The waiters and bartenders were much more friendly than the hostesses, and most importantly, the food was delicious. The show put on by the chef was pretty standard for hibachi restaurants around here, but was well executed. There was plenty of food, a pile of vegetables, a huge serving of the main meat, a big bowl of rice, and some appetizer shrimp for everyone. Just as we thought our dinner was wrapping up, a group of college kids were sitting at the table next to ours doing sake bomb after sake bomb. My friend and I joined in the fun, with the staff being quick to replace empty beer and sake bottles and thoroughly enjoying watching a bunch of 20-somethings make fools of themselves but having a good time. All in all, Bisuteki was a really fun night out for dinner and I'll definitely be going back soon!

Food below standard, soup was cold, fish was okay. Another guest complained about his food, and was treated very poorly by wait staff, chef, and manager... One good reason for me to not be back, I am afraid. Sorry, but not good by any standards

I'll be nice and give 2 stars. Clearly, those who rated higher than 4 stars, know very little about teppan grills and Japanese cuisine. The staff is all chinese and holds a "check the box" service mentality. I ate here 2 times (was staying at hotel) and the food was below average on both occasions. I ordered the scallops teppan entree and quality of the meat was below average and seemed undercooked. They were also garnished with sauce, which destoys the natural taste of the meat. Also, what's the point of the side sauces (traditionally serviced at teppan grills) if all the meats are already garnished with sauces? Moreover, the veggies - nothing to write home about. No different than stir fried veggies I could cook at home. I guess I only ate here on 2 occasions b/c I'm not familiar with the area and Harvard Square is impossible to find parking in.

As a kid if somebody said something you didn't like, did you ever pretend you hadn't listened to it? Well, it seems like the staff at this place hasn't evolved past that stage. When I called in for a reservation at 6:30 they said the earliest they have is 7:15. But, we can come in at 6:30 and wait for 20 minutes if needed. I said, that's fine, we'll come at 6:30 and wait if need be. The person on the phone was like, "You want to come at 7:15"? I said, no, we'll try 6:30. Again, she was all, you want 7:15? After the third time, I caved in; fine, we'll come at 7:15. We arrive at 7:15 and half the restaurant is empty. Interesting start... Anyway, we place the order. They mess up mine, bringing scallops instead of calamari. The waiter comes, saying, "Did you order scallops?" Here we go again, I'm thinking, "No, I ordered calamari". He says, do you want scallops? No, I say, calamari. He says, calamari and scallops? No, I say, just calamari. It was almost a joke at this point... Anyway, the calamari comes and it's completely uncooked, as in chewy uncooked. The grill show was the worst I've seen, by the way, and I've seen quite a few. Same with the edamame (choked in salt?!) and the miso soup (read water). That's alright, time for the check. We tip 13%. The waiter brings it back, saying in something that resembles English that we haven't tipped enough. Nice way to bring a ludicrously below average meal down to a completely ruined experience. We tipped the apparently non-negotiable 15% and got out of this tourist trap.

Marcel M. and I went here for my birthday, which is an excellent deal because you get any entree (like ANY, even the most expensive) for FREEEEEEEEE! The food was standard, heavy butter, oil, and soy sauce hibachi fare. My filet mignon was particularly delectable. The pina colada I ordered was fine-generously saturated with rum-, but I don't think they cracked open any fresh coconuts or pineapples to make it. One thing that put us off was the pretty offensive act of the chef himself. While he was Asian and probably told to cater to the stereotypical Asian caricature for laughs, it made me uncomfortable. He also called me and all the other ladies at our table "sexy," which just struck me as unprofessional. There were some homophobic jokes tossed around, too. I think the "show" would be just as fun without these elements. I would definitely go back for another friend's birthday, but hopefully next time we'll get a different chef.

This place is so weird, one it is located in the Marriott on Memorial drive and people are just don't care. It is not a language barrier people it is the lack of interest in running a restaurant. The hostess is plain rude and the waiters really should not be there at all. I am paying for the food damn it...and I deserve some respect at the joint that you are running. I have eaten in this place three times, the first time my wife and I went in pretty late and another couple was sitting at the table, cook came in and did his thing. Decent job and the food was OK! If my review was solely based on this experience I will give it 4 stars. However as other yelpers have noted once this place gets a little crowded (more than 4 people) the service takes a huge nose dive. I went there the second time and nobody was at the hostess station, the bartender was standing there just watching us.. we waited for 10 minutes and finally some came to seat us. We ordered the chicken tempura, cucumber sushi and the chicken teriyaki. Very standard stuff and nothing unusual, sushi came after about 30 minutes and the tempura was soaked in oil and was soggy. When we complained about how oily the tempura was the waiter suggested that we use a paper napkin to drain the oil. Are you kidding me ... I looked at her in disbelief and was about to throw a fit but kept quiet hoping that the chicken and the house fried rice are decent. How the hell can you screw the chicken and fried rice? I have eaten better chicken teriyaki in a food court. When we complained and asked for the manager, the manager had conveniently stepped out. For a Japanese steakhouse this place is really bad and the service is terrible. Avoid at all costs

Me and my roommates went there for celebrating one of my frds' bday. We are total five ppl and went at lunch time. Ordered sushi, couple of liquor, dinner entrees, lunch entrees. The sushi was remarkable!!!! Drink was ok. Waitress was really sweet, She was very patient to all the questions we asked. And We all love the sushi she recommends, which was volcano maki and spicy crispy maki. Ok, the most amazing part is the CRazy CHef HUNTER! He is the one! All five of us were so focusing on his hilarious performance. He is amazing. We gave him20 extra, since we requested him. Food is alright, alittle too salty to me, but all my Frds love it. All in all, we had a good time there. Oh btw, got free cheese cake and Bang on her bday. That was fun! Strong recommend on going wt group!

The food here was remarkable but the service was slow/lacking. Having a better knowledge of Japanese culture via a college course I took years ago I know that the kiss-ass service we love in the Western world is not typical in the Asian world...so theyre not rude necessarily. However you will WAIT for your drinks a while. Chefs seem to vary in how well they perform, ours was lackluster but I saw another chef at another table who was pretty damn good. (our's didn't throw shrimp or go out of the way for awesomeness like the other) My steak was made as rare as I asked for and the soup and salad were great. For the money I will return. Hopefully I'll get somewhat more attentive service and a cooler chef next time.

My boyfriend and I were craving hibachi, and on a quick search we realized Bisuteki was the closest- not only that, it's free on your birthday and his was coming up! The service was very good; we first made a reservation for 7, then for 8, then ended up showing up at 7:30 and were seated pretty much right away. Our food was great- my scallops were perfectly cooked, as was my boyfriend's (free!) filet mignon. The portions were also absolutely huge. The only downside was the group of no-manners 40-somethings we sat with.

I went there last night for my birthday because according to their website if you go on your actual birthday (and yes, they do actually check your ID) you get a free entree. I thought this might be restricted to their cheaper entrees, but no, you can get ANY entree including their surf and turf for free! Although, I did notice on the bill that I had to pay the extra $1.50 for fried rice, but it's so worth it, believe me. I'm a teppanyaki newbie so I was pretty entertained and impressed with the service. Our chef was great--bouncing the egg on his spatula for quite a while before finally breaking it in mid-air on the edge of his spatula. And because he knew it was my birthday, he kept giving me little freebies like extra chicken teriyaki. The staff came out afterwards too with a gong and gave me a free slice of cheesecake.

I LOVE Bisuteki! I wish I still lived in Boston just for this place. Great hibachi, I never got the sushi so I can't say either way for that. I'm not sure if they still do it or not, but they used to offer a free birthday meal, so we would always go on birthdays!

Hibachi is so much fun. These chefs are characters. You'll have a great time when you're here...and you'll have great food. What sucks is that you have to wait for a full stove to be filled before you can sit down. Keep in mind: Don't wear a shirt that would get ruined by little grease jumpers...

I used to frequent this place. I enjoy the whole hibachi Japanese steak house thing - it brings back childhood memories of the now defunct Kyoto Steak House that was in Park Square. I haven't been back to Bisuteki in Cambridge in a year. The last time i visited, there were two incidents of note. At our table there were little ants crawling in and around the grill. At another table, the overhead vent hood crashed down onto the grill table right after the chef finished cleaning it. It gave the patrons at that table (and the whole restaurant) quite a start...and left some debris in some people's food. We noticed that they gave everyone at that table a free drink but I hope the bill was discounted as well. Yes you should expect families and tourists and no you should not expect fine cuisine. Its a bit pricey, the food is average at best, and the showmanship of the chefs is on par with the food.

This is a really fun Hibachi place, way better than any Benni Hanna's you'll ever hit up. That said, I'm only giving it 4 out of 5 stars, because it used to be a lot better. This was literally my favorite restaraunt as a kid and I made my parents take me there for my birthday for something like 5 yrs in a row. Since moving back to Boston I've been a few times and here's what's changed: 1) portions are smaller than they used to be; 2) food is a little more hit or miss; 3) chefs are hit or miss, meaning some are fabulous and amazing to watch, others I think I could give a run for their money... Overall though, it's still a great place. THere's free parking and it's easy to get to. Make a reservation though, that way you don't have to wait around so much bc they fill the reserved tables first.

I'm a huge fan of Bisuteki! Although I always thought the Howard Johnson hotel was a random location, the restaurant is among my favorites. Each table fits eight people, so it's a great place to bring a bunch of friends, and although a little expensive portions are huge. The Japanese dudes cooking are friendly, funny and talented- I've always been amused with how sharp they are ( flinging the shrimp in the hat etc...) Overall fantastic joint, I highly recommend.

Came for Valentine's Day with the Girlfriend. Everything was on par. The food was great, as were the strong drinks. The place is just a little off-putting. It looks almost like they could serve a continental hotel breakfast in there in the morning and then convert it into a japanese steakhouse at night, not much to set it apart from an American restaurant other than the giant grills

I was excited about Bisuteki coming to Cambridgeport, as I live just a couple blocks away. I've been a few times, and unfortunately, I can only give it an ok. The place gets crazy packed on the weekends, which is understandable, but the food is only so-so regardless of if one goes on a weekend or during the week. Not a bad option if you're craving this type of food, but unfortunately not stellar.

I thought this place closed, I know I had celebrated that it had. I went once and loved it, had steak and shrimp from what I remember, decent food and a cool show. Next time I took my best friend and his wife, they got steak and chicken and I was mr big shot and went with the surf and turf which was steak and lobster, O i thought lobster on the menu meant all the meat of the lobster not just the tail you son of a bitch. 75 dollars for steak and a lobster tail, and i wasnt even impresssed with his quick flips, i think he even dropped a shrimp.

My boyfriend and I just went to Bisuteki last night for his birthday...it's sortof a tradition that we go to a hibachi restaurant every year, and I heard that this was basically the only place like it in Boston. We arrived about 15 minutes prior to our reservation time, and we were seated right away by our friendly hostess. My only minus points would be that we sat there for about 8 minutes until our waiter finally came by and took our drink order. He was great though...told him it was my boyfriend's birthday, and he told us about the free Entree, and also gave us free, hot Sake. We loved it. The whole presentation was pretty much standard for these types of places -- the onion volcano, the shrimp catapulted into people's mouths -- but the chef was very animated and fun. Everyone at our table seemed to have a great time. the food was absolutely delicious. They give you soup, salad and a shrimp appetizer, and we got the steak and chicken dish. It was superb. Also loved the plethora of veggies we got with it. Then the whole wait staff came out and sang my boyfriend Happy Birthday. I'd definitely recommend Bisuteki to anyone looking for a hibachi place in Boston.

It is good to go at Bisuteki at least once especially for a birthday party or with a group of friends. You sit at a table for 10 or 12 people and choose your meal and have your personal chef cook it in front of you. The grill is in the middle. I would not repeat the experience because you can find better and cheaper japanese food in other restaurants.

I loved this place. It is a cool place, even though it's, like, part of the hotel, and it's kind of expensive. It's definitely a fun place to go, but don't go to often, I feel like you won't be impressed as much, like I was for the first time with the amazing cutting and tossing the food and stuff. The staff is friendly, the food is excellent, and the drinks are good too. All in all, it is really fun, unique, and tasty. I originally wanted to give 5 stars, but I'm really picky about giving things 5 stars, so it'll get a 4.5... yea

The Bisuteki is a little expensive, but if you only go once in a while it is definitely worth it! They have sushi and all kinds of great stir fry type dishes. The best part, they cook your food at your table! And, it is one of those places where the guy who is cooking your food does all kinds of little tricks like flipping a shrimp into the air and catching it in his hat. I love it!

I've been to other Japanese steakhouses across the country, and since this was the only one I found in the Boston area(so far) we tried it. Booooo. The chefs all seemed bored and didn't want to entertain anyone. We all love Benihana, and were hoping for a similar experience but were totally disappointed with their lack of "show". Our reservations said 7:30pm, we were not seated until 8:10pm. The food was just okay, but I think I expected too much after going to some really good Japanese Steakhouses. I think I was used to getting the whole meal deal, you know, soup, salad, and more choices. They didn't even ask if we wanted fried rice, or soup, salad, nothing. Just took our order and ran off. It was so difficult to get drinks we finally had to go track someone down. The waitstaff was definitely not attentive and seemed to rush us. The worst part of our meal was a group of drunken girls in bachelorette party mode, sitting at a table nearby. They were extremely loud, obnoxious and throwing out expletives near our table(there were 4 little kids there!)--- and not even an attempt by the waitstaff to quiet them down. Unless I find another place, I'll save visiting Japanese steakhouses for when I'm back in Texas, San Francisco, or Hawaii.

Bisuteki is lucky that they are the only japanese steakhouse is Boston. They're a good time for a group or to celebrate an occasion. However, they have the worst habachi chef's I've ever experienced. They do a few of the standard habachi chef tricks, like the onion pyramid, but there's nothing creative past that and they don't even seem enthused to be there. It really lowers the experience level. But to up it, I suggest ordering one of their exotic drinks.

The hostesses are incompetent. We called ahead to make a reservation, but they told us to just walk in and the wait will be about 10 minutes. When we got there they told us the wait will be about 20 minutes. No problem. 20 minutes later we asked how much longer. They said another 20 minutes. Another 25 minutes later we approached the confused pair of hostesses. The two hostesses kept staring at the reservation name list continuously like it were a puzzle that they couldn't solve. Once again, we politely asked how long the wait will be, and the response became, "I don't know. There is still a list of people with reservations ahead of you." Becoming really frustrated, I then asked, "is it going to be 2 hours?" "oh no! Not that long." "is it going to be 1 hour?" "no no probably 30 mins to 45 mins." Having waited close to an hour along with other parties who've waited even longer with similar answers, I placed no trust in their scheduling ability and so I told them, "we're going to leave." their response was "oh ok."
