I live around the corner from this particular location. It was ok. Seemed to take a little long considering how many people were on the line. AT any rate, I ordered the R.D. Club I think it was called (Turkey, Applewood smoked bacon, Avocado, lettude, Tomato and Siracha Mayo). For having siracha mayo, there was zero spice/heat flavor. The sandwich was large for sure, I could only eat half of it, but it just kind of fell flat to me. It wasn't bad, but it wasn't amaze-balls either...just sort of "meh". I could think of better ways to spend 9 dollars for sure. The burgers however looked pretty damn tasty and smelled really good. The slices they had up for grabs were definitely not for the meek and very generous in size. I'll give them another shot for sure - Maybe I just ordered the less inspiring sandwich? If anyone would like to PM me and give suggestions I wouldn't be offended. The staff was super polite and nice too, and that goes a long way for me. You can't have food that makes a person wanna slap they mama and call her Carl, but if your attitude stinks, then your food isn't worth it. I'll definitely go back in for another shot.

Under insistence that the salads are so good I need to give them another shot, we have continued to get salads from here, and they're still good, and the errors have gone away, so I'll give back the other stars.

I'm gonna help these guys out here..... I don't understand all the hate....this place does have, well, real food. They really do make things fresh. I've ate here about 3 times and I would recommended it to anyone. I've had their italian, their chicken parm (different, but good....and it's real cooked to order chicken) and the burger with an egg on it. Maybe there is poor service? Poor quality control? Their food is way too good to have a 3 star rating

I loved them in JP and I love them here. Now that they're closer to me, I attempted to get hooked on something a bit healthier than pizza. Long story short, the Vinny Gorgeous (all veggie) is awesome; it has a really succulent and tangy taste to it. The goat cheese is a great addition. The prices are kind of up there (like a $1.50 less on all the sandwiches would be just right), but just one wrap leaves me full.

i always want to like this place and they seem to be a bummer every time. the menu looks good but the food never is as good as it seems. the slice of buffalo chicken pizza was the best thing i have had. the buffalo chicken salad was literally just lettuce with chicken, i guess i was looking for more. the fries are soggy which always sucks. and i ordered a cubano and people that ordered after me kept getting their food. i asked where mine was and they forgot about it on the panini press and still served it to me, burnt to a crisp. i want to give it another chance but with the options in the area it just isn't worth it.

A new spot in my neighborhood warrants a visit regardless of a few floppy reviews... And it was well worth the stop. I ordered an Uncle Junior from a friendly enthusiastic counter girl and my pan fried panini delivered. The sandwich was generously sized and delicious. The food isn't at all over priced, for less than 10 bucks, you will get a sandwich at many a shop but barely under ten, and nothing of this size or quality. My only complaint was that for a place that serves quality fresh food, the drink selection was generic, and not sustainable or healthy. I had a nice talk with the manager about the drinks and will add another star when they switch things up. And if they replace "fresh" with "organic" they can get that fifth star from me. I've lived in the neighborhood for years and this restaurant is a great compliment to Cleveland Circle. The naysayers are mistaken, with its quality food and late hours, The Real Deal will thrive here.

Alright decided to stop and give this place a try today. Real, fresh food always gets my mouth watering. I ordered The Monster burger with fries. I have to admit I was a bit disappointed. The burger bun was stale and the lettuce was wilted. I had to scrap off most of the lettuce because it had gone bad and turned brown. OK, I thought bad bun and lettuce -- that's a bummer. But when you order a burger it's all about the burger. The fixins are just extra. Unfortunately, the burger was dry. I'll give this place a second chance but I'll try one of the signature sandwiches. Maybe burgers aren't their thing and sandwiches are.

Summer lunch is a game of "what to eat today" when you live close to the Cleveland circle area. I decided to try this new restaurant as I'm sure it must be "The Real Deal" as it's name implies. I ordered online for pick-up the grown-up grilled cheese. I am pescatarian and although it mentions bacon and brisket, I could simply ask to not add it. The online system only referred the brisket and I was left to assume that I had asked for no meat. I pick up the meal promptly only to head back to work to find bacon. I called the store and they reviewed the order and acknowledged the mistake. What makes this place the real deal is its dedicated to service. They made me a new grilled cheese and delivered it directly to me! The grilled cheese was delicious as well- a seasonal item so get it soon.

Lets break it down. I wanted a sandwich but wanted to try somewhere new. And there...in the distance, the Real Deal. The place smelled great and I ordered the Cuban sandwich. It was fantastic. Just the right amount of heat and amazing pulled meat. Add the grilled panini and you've entered heaven.

I have had some really great sandwhichs from the restaurant but gotta take some points away for delivery times. Most times when I order the food arrives at least 30 minutes later then the time I was told.

Popped in here today and had a very pleasant experience. I ordered the Carmela panini which consists of breaded eggplant, sharp provolone, baby arugula, roasted red peppers and pesto mayo on herb focaccia. It was extremely tasty, the red peppers definitely came through in the flavor, and huge. I ate half and am planning to eat the other half for supper. Great value. I had zero problems with the wait time. I ordered it to go and was served within 5 minutes. On another occasion I would get a whoopie pie or one of their other desserts. They look amazing.

If I had reviewed this place a month ago, it would have gotten 4 or 5 stars but not anymore. I really want it to be good but some stuff is just awful. At first I loved the chicken parm. It was different (fresh mozzarella) and delicious. But last time the chicken was inedible rubbery garbage. No idea what happened. Despite that experience, I gave this place a few more tries. The roast beef and beef brisket were okay but kinda bland and a little small for the price. The steak & cheese was disgusting. It was clearly made with cheap cheese and meat which was annoying since it cost almost $10. The pros are a nice/clean decor, friendly staff, and the fries are very good. Really wish I could give it more then two stars but can't.

  • Chris K.

Can't really say how the food is. Both times I've ordered, the delivery has taken more than 90 minutes and the food was cold. It probably would be good, but not worth ordering with these ludicrous wait times.

I've been here twice in the past few weeks and the food is pretty good. The interior is nicely decorated, and when the weather is nice they open up the windows in the front of the bar stool area so guests who are eating there are looking out to the sidewalk and came almost touch people walking by. There are probably enough seats for 10-15 people, so it's not large, but most people get their food to go. The first time I came here we ordered the margherita pizza and the boneless buffalo wings. The pizza was pretty good, but we did not enjoy the boneless wings. The flavor was fine, it was more of the pieces of chicken used. Instead of being easy to cute/bite in to, it was kind of lumpy and tough. I would not order these again. The second time we went I ordered the "adult grilled cheese," which has beef brisket, with caramelized onions on a toasted white bread. DELICIOUS. It's on the seasonal menu and will probably change once fall comes, but it should definitely move on to the regular, permanent menu. All in all, a good little find to grab some quick food.

Finally, a legit sandwich spot in Cleveland Circle. I've been four times so far and had four different sandwiches: the chicken parm, the chicken bacon ranch, buffalo chicken and the tomato mozzarella. The chicken parm and ranch were great and the other two were OK. Haven't had any of the other items yet, but I'm sure I'll work my way through the menu soon. I do wish they had a half-size option, as the sandwiches are massive.

Disgustingly greasy food. The grease ball panini sandwich I got has to have at least 3,000 calories -- I just ate it and my stomach hurts as I write this. The panini bread itself is very fatty, as if it was fried. Then, they smear it with mayo on the inside. Then they put fried eggplant on it - thin slices of eggplant covered in breadcrumbs soaked in fried fat. And then they add very greasy melted cheese. The whole thing is dripping with fat. Each of the four main ingredients is about 80% FAT. The first bite you take, you think -- wow, that's rich. On the third bite, you think -- gee I wish I didn't buy it. It feels like eating old soft butter mixed with crackers. No human body needs to be nourished with something like this. I'm so disappointed. I had high hopes about this place. I'm not a low-fat freak -- I don't mind SOME fat, but there has to be some balance. The sandwich I had in terms of fat calories was worse than anything you can get at MacDonalds. And I paid $10 for it. Never again. The owners of these fast food places try so hard to make it super-delicious that they ruin the food. They serve food that only football players can eat -- or not (it would probably block their arteries too).

I LOVE it here. I am a HUGE fan of eagles and pinos, so I was skeptical at first. But I instantly fell inlove. I've had their Monster Burger which was unreal. I've had a piece of their buffalo chicken pizza, which is now my fav buff chix pizza, and I just had their Pacific Beach Salad with grilled chicken and I have craved every day since. Yes, its a little more pricey by a dollar or 2, but you get TONS of food. The salad was not little by any means, and the burgers were MASSIVE and the piece of pizza was very large. I do think I will stick with Pino's for the plain and pepperoni pizza, but if you want any specialty pizza by the slice, this is the place to go!

  • Ray G.

Their pizzas are amazing. I've had the buffalo, chicken bacon ranch, and the cheese and they are great. Their unique too, not boring. Their pricing is fair, you pay 12 for a small and 18 for a large pizza which may sound high; but your getting gourmet and fresh. Big CON, they are very slow. If you order a pizza and they say it will be ready in fifteen for pickup, it actually takes 30-40 mins, which is why I had time to write this sitting here waiting. In all, it's worth a trip and the extra few bucks to get awesome food. Sandwiches are good too.

Sooooooo disappointed! I was looking forward to a new restaurant in my area with fresh, healthy ingredients. I ordered a garden salad with grilled chicken. I got a pre made heap of iceberg lettuce with a grease dripped slab of chicken on top. How difficult is it to add a fresh, variety of greens with a variety of fresh toppings? They need to take a lesson in salads from Andlaus up the street!

I had high hopes for this place. First impression is not good. Went in, there were maybe 4 or 5 customers in the store. I ordered a slice of buffalo chicken pizza to eat there, and sat down. About 5 minutes later, the lady at the register yelled "pizza!". I thought she was saying my pizza was ready. I went up to the register and the lady just looked at me. I asked "did you say my pizza was ready?" she said no, she was just yelling it to the guys in the kitchen. Then she was like "wait, what did you order?" I reminded her, although I JUST placed my order. She informed me my pizza was burnt and asked if I wanted a new piece. Are you kidding me? I told her yes I did want another piece because I don't care for burnt pizza. She forgot I said I would eat it there, and gave it to me to go. I was actually glad because I was annoyed at that point. The pizza, although cold, was pretty good at least. Nothing to write home about, but the pizza was decent.

i wanted to love this place . they did a great job with the renovation of the former prestos and the people who work there are very nice. but that is where it ends. the pizza is just okay. not as good as prestos was and not as good as pinos still is. i got two sandwiches and they were both very disappointing. the brisket was not good at all. just a pile of fairly tasteless meat on a bun. the the blt was also quite tasteless. i did however like the chicken tenders but not the sauce on them.

UPDATE: my order was delivered after two phone calls and an hour and ten minutes. The girl I spoke to on the phone was pleasant enough and shared my frustrations, letting me know I was not the only customer with and incorrect order that evening. She also offered to credit me $30. I will use the credit since the food really is excellent, but I can't say I'll be back after that. Thank you to the girl I spoke to on the phone who did what she could to rectify the situation!

I recently ordered a burger well done and picked it up 25 minutes later. The outside was cooked, but the center completely raw. If it had been medium or even medium rare I wouldn't have made such a big deal. But completely raw in the center when I asked for well done? That indicates to me the burger was not cooked properly at all especially since the outside looked done. I quickly lost my appetite. Luckily I called and they refunded me immediately, which I definitely appreciated. I would be hesitant to order from here again though.. In the past I've gotten a few of their sandwiches which are decent and haven't had problems with the burgers until this incident. If you can wait awhile for it to be cooked (and it actually gets cooked) then they are good. I like the one with avocado, cheese, and bacon. The fries are good also, but I think best if eaten right immediately. The seating area is small so if you do order from here get delivery or take out.

Chicken ranch is the best cutlet sub ever. Fries are outta sight. Fast delivery. The end.

The food is really good. I love the green monster burger and truffle fries. The staff however is not so great. They always close early. It says they close at 10 on yelp, the website, and at the store, but they are consistently closed around 9. I've called to order at around 9 PM and the guy who answered the phone said that they were closed. I asked, "what time do you close?" He said 10. I said, "so you close at ten, but you're closed now at 9?" He said "yep, alright? Bye." Not too helpful. The food's good, but I don't think it's worth dealing with the staff. Sure everyone wants to go home early, but if you close at 10, then you close at 10, pretty simple. I hope the owner sees this, maybe he is unaware that his store is consistently closing earlier than posted.

Very good food. Ordered through Foodler, it came under an hour. Here are the dishes we ordered and their review: Appetizer - Big Dipper, 3 STARS. Here's why: they came completely soggy! I would give them 5 stars if it wasn't for that. They weren't just a little soggy, there wasn't a crispy fry in sight. All 3 dipping sauces are delicious and the fries were very flavorful, I just wish they were crispy (I know you're supposed to fry them twice to make them crispy, so maybe they are only fried once and therefore completely limpy). Uncle JR Panini - 5 STARS. Very tasty and a big portion. Great to have 1/2 for lunch and the other half for dinner or shared. It's doesn't work the next day though, has to be eaten on the same day (not a bad thing, just a warning for those who are thinking of saving the other half for lunch next day). House Smoked Brisket Sandwich - 4.5 STARS. Also very tasty. The reason why I didn't give it 5 stars is that some of my pieces had a big chunk of fat on them, so I wish it was removed before putting it on my sandwich. I normally can't stand Bread & Butter pickles, but I didn't mind these one bit. This was my first time ordering here, so I wanted to try the food the way the chef envisioned it. These are like half-sour pickles, but a little sweeter, not ridiculously sweet like others. Vinny Gorgeous Wrap - 4.5 stars. It is delicious, and I would give it 5 stars, but I thought for the money, it was on the small side. I order wraps all the time, and they are usually much bigger. This was kind of burrito- sized (from Anna's Taqueria, not McDonald's). Overall, I really did love the food. Just a few things I noticed and would love it if they could get the fries crispy. You couldn't dip them and had to use the fork. Will definitely be back!! I saw people's reviews that it's similar to everything else around here, but I have to disagree. I don't know if the menu used to be different and because of the reviews, they updated it. Either way, I've tried Eagle Deli and thought it was a waste of money. The other places are your typical sub shops, nowhere near the quality and freshness of this place.

The slowest and worst service I've ever experienced. They also have some of the dumbest people working there. I placed my order and waited at least half an hour and watched as other people who walked in after me get their orders before me. To make matters worse they gave my order to a different table and the couple touched my food and returned it back to the counter since it was wrong. Ten minutes later the girl brings me that same tray. I was furious since I've seen it all happen and she pretended as if she didn't know! Needless to say I will never go there again.

We were debating between pinos, eagles and this place. I figured I'd try this place out since We haven't been here before. There were at least 6 people working, plus a couple of drivers and it looked very disorganized. One of the cashiers was obviously new and very slow (he kept reading the menu to assemble burgers and things. I guess at least he was double checking) A cook from the back came out to the front, and was writing and erasing the whiteboard with her gloved fingers (hope she changed her gloves, before handing my food) Food came out soooo slow and it was just ok. (We got a steak and cheese and a burger) Sorry but I don't think we'll be back

Great pick off foodler. Probably would never actually go there otherwise. Place is a run of the mill sandwich/burger shop. Their Fig 'n Pig is probably the most anticing thing on their menu. The onion ring sauce mimics that of the bloomin' onion from the Outback, which was a great surprise. Don't waste your time walking there though, it's just as good off of foodler/delivery and the comfort of your living room is probably better than the atmosphere here.

The food here is great, and it's the reason I keep coming back despite the issues I have. The service is very friendly, but easily 9 out of every 10 times I order food here (whether it's to stay and eat, to go, or delivery) my order is wrong. That's sadly not an exaggeration. I've learned to check the food they give me before I leave the restaurant because there's actually a 90% chance I'm going to have to ask them to fix a mistake (and this can often mean I'm waiting a good 30 minutes to get my order and leave). This ranges from forgetting chicken to forgetting salad dressing to giving me the wrong order entirely. I'm not really sure how this happens - the people working there seem competent and friendly, so it's hard to say where the break down occurs. I hope they can figure it out soon, because other people might not be as swayed by the quality of their food as I am, and that is some hot real estate.

The Real Deal makes great cheese burgers. Their fries are to die for. Seriously, you will probably die if you eat them every day. But that's ok. Back to the cheese burgers... If they were to star in a movie... Let's say Top Gun... And they played Goose, I'd cry even more when they died. Spoiler alert. I shoulda said spoiler alert first. Goose dies in Top Gun. Can I rate Top Gun on this site? 4/5 stars.

"I will take 'restaurants that will be out of Business in 6 Months' for $200 Alex" "The Answer is "This chain restaurant opened a branch in Cleveland Circle on May 10, 2013 specializing in....well really nothing." "The Real Deal!!!" "That's right! This Brings Claude F, our returning Champion up to $54,000, Followed closely behind by Jason J at $53,000....However Anna C. Remains at Negative $1,350,000....ooooo...maybe you will have better luck in the lightning round, Anna." Anna C: "Whatever!" In all seriousness I will admit to a strong political bias against chain restaurants that move in and try and put the mom and pop places, that make Boston eating so special, out of business. But it is places like this that justify that bias. This is the Real Deal's third restaurant in Boston. The other two are in West Roxbury and Jamaica Plain. Their motto is "real fresh, real good." But it really should be "real expensive, real bad" or perhaps it should be: "If you want food real bad, Great! We have got some real bad food!" EVERYTHING on the menu is over priced and generic. Hamburgers at $9.50 each. 12 inch pizzas (tiny) at $12. I decided to try one of the sandwiches: a Cuban Panini consisting of Foccacia Bread, Pulled Pork, Ham, Swiss, B & B Pickles and Mustard for $9. It was so bad it has now made me very Anti-Cuba (I just tore down my Fidel Castro and Che Guevara posters that I had in my office here in state government...hmmm...maybe I should not have volunteered that piece of information?) But let me just say: "Grand Opening, Grand Closing" Because the Read Deal is a Real Don't! I give it 6 months. Any body wanna take that bet? Ps. Thanks to my pals Jason J and Anna C for having thier usual great sense of humor....and taste...since they both knew enough not to join me here. :(

The Chicken Ranch pizza is a revelation, so good! Service is quite good. Although it's an order at the counter type place, the people at the registers are very nice, and make it a nice place to be. Burgers are really good as well.

I come here often because they have rather fresh ingredients, I don't cook, and it's close. I would not come here if it would require me to go out of my way. I rarely eat inside, because it's not a very welcoming ambiance. Some of their food, like the Chicken Parm sandwich, tastes...awkward. I do like their buffalo chicken sandwich with honey bbq, the meatloaf melt from the seasonal menu, and the reuben. Yes, the Reuben is good.

I pulled an all-nighter mad-scienceing a week ago, and had Real Deal deliver a couple much-needed burgers to a fellow colleague and I on-campus. Props for them finding their way into the middle of BC and into an academic building! Both burgers were good. I had the Zombie-- a delightfully weird combo of pea shoots, pickles, and Muenster. My friend had the Green Monster (avocado and bacon with cheddar), which she was really into. If I had to "nit-pick" mine, I'd say I should have gone with Angus instead of a turkey patty-- my turkey burger was a bit dry. But those are pretty difficult to make "not dry" without defeating the purpose of "pseudo-healthy turkey burger," so I get that. Fries were good, and the delivery guy remembered to bring ketchup. So, everything was okay with the world. The delivery DID take about an hour-and-a-half, which I thought was weird on a Wednesday night, and I was bordering-on-desperate by the time it got there. [I'll add that I ordered via Foodler, so they might not have received my ticket right away?] I'm still pretty impressed they were willing to take food to my lab building, so I'm going to chalk it up to having limited delivery drivers on a weekday. All-in-all, good burgers. I wouldn't hesitate to order another late night "Zombie" while I'm chugging away in the labratory-- but I'll try to have the forethought to order early, so I don't Bruce Banner/Hulk out on anyone while I'm waiting for it.

We had take out for dinner and it was great! I shared with a friend, we got the chicken parm and the turkey club. They were both stuffed huge and so delicious. Definitely would suggest for a casual dining experience.

I had the Wolf Man Burger. It was really good, though I didn't love the Sriracha Mayo. The downside was that the burger was really salty, and kind of irregularly so (i.e., some bites would be normal, and then some bites would be like taking a shot from a salt shaker). The price was reasonable for the size of the burger. Downsides: seating was limited and it was overrun by youths (i.e. undergrads). Not bad, though.

I'm giving 4 stars, rounding up from 3.5. The place is airy and clean. There are a lot of choices, from pizza to salads to sandwiches, including panini. High top seating along the windows & communal table. At least one or two table & chair sets. I had the jerk turkey panino. They were out of jerk turkey, so I had regular turkey. The gave me spicy sauce on the side, their suggestion. V. thoughtful. I enjoyed the panino. It is large, took 1/2 home. Obviously, this item must be quite popular, as they ran out of the jerk turkey. It was v. flavorful even w. regular turkey, v. fresh. Liked the pineapple salsa & avocado. The bramble cookies have a great rep, & the 1/2 moon cookies & whoopie pies looked amazing! Next time!

I've ordered from here a few time. I love the fact you can order online and pick it up. The salads I've gotten have always been fresh and delicious and the pizza is crispy and delicious. Glad to have another option in the Cleveland Circle area!

Overall mediocre food. Orderd a couple of burgers, one bean one beef. They switched the topings on the burgers so we didn't get what we wanted.Wasn't too crazy about the bun either. We also ordered a side of truffle fries which were OKAY. It was a cheat day for me so I am just unsatisfied and sad with how my burger turned out. Not worth it.

This is my favorite place to eat- as a vegetarian I appreciate that they have many delicious, fresh options. I live right down the street so I can always try something new and I love that they will add avocado to anything for free! Also, the pizza is really good and the slices are a good price because they are huge. I suggest the Classico pizza and the Dracula black bean burger. The only qualms I have (why I couldn't give that fifth star) is they currently do not have any vegetarian specials. I would love to try something new because I'm sure it would keep up with the consistently outstanding food I've eaten here. Secondly, I have had numerous occasions where my order wasn't exactly what I wanted after I brought it home. I would just suggest checking your food before you leave, the staff is super friendly and they are always willing to fix things!

BEWARE OF HAIR IN YOUR FOOD!!! GET YOUR STAFF HAIR NETS!!! Oh man, where do I even start? So I've wanted to try this place for a while, and I decided that now was as good a time as any (since I was definitely not going to drag myself out of bed to cook). I ordered a Cuban Panini and took it to go so I could crawl back into said bed. As soon as I open the takeout lid, there's BLACK HAIR on the inside of the cover, gripping to the condensation from my now less appealing Cuban Panini. Fortunately for me, it was a longer hair, so I know that it came from someone's head and not other places. Regardless, nothing squashes your appetite more than that. I went to bed hungry, and frankly, I would've preferred that over eating HAIRS (yes, more than one)! So lesson learned...never going back there. Get your staff hair nets because you've lost valuable business in me (and frankly, anyone I talk to). Disgusting, such a horrible, horrible experience, and a complete waste of $10! I hope this review informs others.

Four stars for the food, one star for the service. This place is the Michael Jordan of getting orders wrong. I've gotten takeout or delivery from them at least ten times, and they've messed up the order for the last six of them. It bums me out because the food is above average for the neighborhood, but I'm past the point of giving them the benefit of the doubt. When I request a salad instead of fries, give me a salad instead of fries. When I select pickles and tomatoes for my burger, put pickles and tomatoes on my burger. If I order a salad, it should have salad dressing: preferably the salad dressing I requested, but at the end of the day any dressing would be preferable to none. If Real Deal can't/won't fulfill these requests, they shouldn't offer them as options on their online ordering website. Five screwups would have been ok, but the sixth in a row is the last straw.

I've been back several times now and loved it every time. The burgers are in fact excellent. It's now my go to when I feel like a burger (sorry Eagles!). My favorite sandwhich here though is the grown up grilled cheese-smoked bbq brisket, smoked gouda, caramelized onions. Oh man, I think I'm gonna have to get one today!

We were so excited to find that Real Deal opened a branch in our neighborhood. Then, we were underwhelmed to find that the menu is EXTREMELY limited, no gangster wraps... The food is still awesome, just much, much less to choose from

Having trouble updating my previous review, so I am writing another one: I ordered a buff sub with extra hot sauce, and they put bbq sauce on it. It was GROSS. BBQ sauce, Buffalo Sauce and blue cheese. Inedible. Didn't call the store to deal with it because I picked it up on my walk home from work. Suffice to say, after my third try at the Real Deal, I will stick to what I know.

I live about a five minute walk from here, so when the Real Deal opened I hoped it would be delicious so I'd want to visit all the time. It did not disappoint! I've only eaten the burgers and sandwiches, so I can't say much about the other items on the menu, but boy, can they make a mean sandwich. The buffalo chicken sandwich is delicious, even more so if you add guac and a few strips of bacon to it. The "small" fries come in a little plastic cup that always always overflows into the to-go paper bag, but if that's a problem, it's a good one to have.

Don't trust the reviews! This place is amazing! I am a big burger person and this place hits the spot! I've gotten the Green Monster about 3 times and it's been great every time. They beat Five Guys and Lee's in my book. 5 starts for sure!

Let me first start off my saying that I am a firm believer in, "if it's not broken then don't fix it" philosophy. With that said, I always approach take out places in the same manner, find a couple of dynamite items and stick to em. I am obsessed with three items on the Real Deal menu:1) The Grown Up Grilled Cheese, which packs lots of flavor and can be spilt into two meals 2) The Goblin Burger, totally elevated by a massive amount of pulled pork poured over a beef patty (Hold the bb pickles and add raw onions for a crunch factor). 3) Their epic onion rings that are lightly battered and aren't soggy or oily. The sauce that comes with it rocks too. Real Deal loses a star for me because of the wait time and average pizza. Then again, I'm a New Yorker and I really enjoy my classic cheese slice straight from a dimly lit old school pizza parlor :) Overall, I really love Real Deal and go roughly once a week when I don't feel like cooking, which is great cause you earn points with every meal leading to essentially a free meal.

This is by far one of the BEST options to order from on Foodler. CRAZY good fries and onion rings (not traditional but better), amazing BLT, best Italian sandwich I've ever had. When I'm having a rough week and not doing a ton of cooking I have a hard time avoiding this place. Consistency of the food could be better and once they ran out of pulled pork which sucked, but at least it's way fresher than most! They once sent me two cokes I didn't order and while I was annoyed at first when they tried to tell me I actually had ordered them, they quickly agreed to remove the charge. Love this place!

The food is great here. Only downside is the wait... but now I know I should just order online ahead of time because it's still worth it! The Asian Sesame Chicken Salad is amazing!

I just have to laugh at the negative reviews of this place. Who do they think they are? Where do they think there are? Jeez. Maybe they're just Eagle Deli devotees. The food is fan-damn-tastic. The sandwiches are so fresh, made with quality ingredients. I've tried more than half of the sandwiches on the menu and all have been exceptional. Pizza is better than any you'd find in the area, with maybe the exception of Proper Slice. And the buffalo "wings," oh the buffalo wings! Juicy whole pieces of white meat chicken, freshly coated, fried, and tossed lightly in an thin, authentic sauce. Yum! It's not a health food place. It's slightly above average price. They use "real food" ingredients. The portions are healthy. You will like it. Unless you are one of the silly people who don't know good deli food even if it gets put into their mouth. This place is exactly what I've been waiting for in the neighborhood!

Small supercasual place. Cant go wrong here, but nothing to rave about. Salads are tasty with generous portions (1.5x the size of panera's but with fewer selections). Convenient for calling ahead/pick up. Good service. I'd return simply for the convenience (it was close to where I lived), but I wouldn't make a special trip here.

Food is great, Service is worst I have ever had. The girl behind the counter never seems to be happy to bet here and always seems aggravated with you ordering. The worst though, is the delivery. I work 5 min around the corner driving 15 min walk max. I had meetings and was unable to get out of the office so I ordered delivery. My order was some Chicken and a Salad. An hour and a half later it arrived! That is unacceptable in my mind, I have lunch here 3 times a week but this was the last straw i'm done.

Meh. This place is not that good. It takes forever to get your food, which is not that good. There's really no reason to go here when there is Pinos and Chipotle right next door. I get the whole "Big/Robust/Saucy" theme The Real Deal is trying, but it's not working. I ordered a buffalo chicken sandwich that was more blue cheese than anything else. Similarly, their grilled cheese is made with bread that is simply too big. I will not be going back.

I had nothing but great things to say about The Real Deal until tonight. We ordered sandwiches via their website for delivery tonight... delivery was pretty quick as usual, we live right up the street. Unfortunately, my sandwich was slathered in garlic aioli, which I can't stand and had specifically asked for none of. We called and let them know the error and asked for a new sandwich, which they agreed to. 5 minutes later, Real Deal called back and said "You're going to come pick this sandwich up right?". Wrong. When an error is made on the part of the restaurant, and it was delivered in the first place, then I shouldn't have to leave my house to get the replacement. The whole point of delivery in the first place was TO GET MY FOOD DELIVERED. I understand if you only have one driver, but an error should be made a priority. Sorry Real Deal, you just lost two loyal customers who will not be returning.

staff wasn't helpful and the 2 slices of pizza I paid $11 for was served to me cold even when they put it in the oven to heat it up!

  • Stan P.

I am rating them for their pizza, which is a nice thin crust pie you can customize the way you want. A great alternative to Pino's down the block. Sandwiches are OK, nothing to write home (or a review) about

I don't consider this place to be a "fast food" joint like its neighbors, Chipotle or Boloco, but almost like a specialty burger/sandwich joint. Thus, they take some time making their food and let me tell you... it's most certainly worth the wait. It seems like a lot of people take their orders to-go... completely boggles my mind because the layout of this place is awesome and the open window concept is a major plus on a nice, sunny saturday afternoon. I ordered the "Angry Super Beef" because who doesn't love a nice roast beef sandwich with spicy BBQ sauce? My friend ordered "The Wolf Man" (seriously, I'm such a sucker for witty names). Both really, really delicious. My sandwich was more like meat with a topping of a bun. The roast beef was at LEAST 3-4" in height and I was freaking ecstatic. Was it messy? yes. Did it satisfy the carnivore in me? uh, duh. This place is awesome and I definitely plan on coming here again to try out all the different sandwiches/burgers because they all sound amazing. Another plus? It's right next to the chestnut hill reservoir, so it's a nice way to fill up your stomach after a scenic run. PS. I'm reserving that last star for when I come here again. First impressions aren't everything, but I sure hope it was for this place because if you couldn't tell... I was thoroughly impressed.

I ordered a steak and cheese sub and onion rings from here. The onion rings had an amazing "boom boom" spicy sauce which I really liked and would definitely order again and again. The steak and cheese left a bit to be desired. The bread wasn't fantastic but the steak was decent quality. Just wasn't quite as good as some of the other places around. The delivery is always very quick however and they usually make it to me within a half hour or so which is nice. The sandwiches sound really good and the burgers too so I'll definitely be trying this place out again soon.

This place is super small but very hip and trendy on the inside. Both times I've gone here I've gotten the Sicilian: mozzarella, tomato, basil, olive oil, and balsamic glaze on a braided roll. The roll is always soft and fluffy, and the mozzarella fresh and delicious. Typically I can get two meals out of one sandwich as they're a decent size. The staff has always been very courteous and helpful. Would come again!

Ugh.. I've tried the fries from this spot before and they were soooooo good, so I figured I'd try some other items off the menu. My friend came over and we ordered the chicken ranch sub, parmesan truffle fries and the Vinny Gorgeous wrap. Three simple things, right? Ehhh wrong. First off, the woman on the phone seemed very confused when I asked if we could put the orders on separate cards...she had to speak with some people and I was just sitting on the other line for a couple minutes listening to them discuss what they should do.. We ordered our food at 8:30...didn't get the food until 9:40. Yikes. For two sandwiches (one WITHOUT meat)??? Please...when we got it, we weren't that interested in eating but we were starving and that was our only option. Since it was probably sitting in the car for a while, the cheese on the fries was basically a blob of hardened goo and the fries were moosh. Our subs were just 'ok'. Not eating here again...

Okay this is a fast food joint - pizza, burgers and sandwiches- but nothing is fast about this place. I ordered an Italian sub and it took 15 minutes to get it. It's a sandwich. It should not take more than 5 minutes. It wasn't that busy and there seems to be a lot of staff who doesn't have a clue to what is happening.

This is literally the Real Deal. The burger is fantastic. I get the wolf man every time. It has a fried egg, bacon, cheese, and a delicious siracha mayo that I get in the side so I can dip my fries into it. The fries are homemade and sooo good. And the onion rings are thin and crispy and so good. They have a reward program--spend $100 get $5, 200 points get $10 and 300 points get $15 off. They remember you by your phone number. They have a seasonal menu that looks good but I always go with the same burger because it's the best burger I've had in Boston! The seating is limited but I've never had a problem eating here. The staff is friendly and the service is always pretty fast. Highly, highly recommended!!!!

If you're looking for a decent, reasonably priced sandwich to help with a Sunday hangover...the real deal is the place to be! Our apartment highly recommends trying the BLT, Caesar wrap, and chicken parm. You won't be disappointed!

  • Heather V.

Not a real deal. The burger was over priced and took a long time to cook. like 30mins for a burger, in a place with no seating. Some of the burgers had interesting toppings, but it was not worth the wait and the price.

I'm just really confused, it's not that I don't want to be with The Real Deal but sometimes I just don't know :/ Usually the steak and cheeses are moist and inviting; melty and steamy when I bite into them. Lately though they've just been very inconsistent. My orders have been arriving late and they've been sloppy and dry like the feel better handjob Elise gave me after I drunkenly fell into a bonfire. I still eat everything and dip it into a bowl of mayonnaise like a savage but it's unsatisfying. It's kind of like when you're browsing PornHub and slowly masturbating while you find the right video but nothing looks good to you so you just choose something random and have one of those half assed orgasms where it's like, yeah you came but really it's basically your dick coughing at you. It's all about consistency boys, step it up a bit.

I want to make this a personal note to the owner, and I hope that he or she reads it. My taste buds love your food - the pulled pork is absolutely delicious and messy (in all the best ways), your onion rings are addictive, and the french fries are intoxicating! My patience and desire for good customer service isn't the biggest fan, and I struggled with this the first time I came here. Your staff needs to be retrained and brought up to a much higher level if you want to remain open and retain customers. The last time I came, the staff seemed scatterbrained - the delivery boys were being given mixed direction from the two girls working the counter; I was handed my order without it being completed, and I would have walked out without my AMAZING pulled pork sandwich. I was smart and ordered ahead of time, so I didn't have to wait long. The customers that were waiting, however, looked aggravated. I understand that you are trying to make quality food, but the time in which this is done needs to be expedited. I plan on returning, but do know that my review will be one star less each time if the customer service doesn't improve. You guys ARE the real deal, but you need to step up your service immediately!

Real Deal! You're killin' me, Smalls! Seriously. I love the pizza. I love the wings and fries. I love the stuff I can only get in JP now, apparently! Your location no longer offers pizza! When did this happen??!? I stopped in on my way home yesterday and was told that there's no pizza now, but it may come back in the future, whatever that means. I wound up getting a burrito from a neighboring business, but I was still hankering for a nice, cheesy slice of pie... So I went on Foodler tonight, and lo and behold, the pizza is gone from the menu COMPLETELY. I even have it listed in a previous order, but the site says I can't replicate the order because the restaurant no longer offers that item. I'm sorry, Real Deal. I'm going to have to go elsewhere from now on. I don't like the burgers or sandwiches, and though the wings are still good, appetizers a meal does not make. Now to search for a new pizza place....

I've tried the Chicken Bacon Ranch pizza and the Angry Beef sandwich. They were both super tasty. The super beef could have been bigger for the price, but it was a quality sandwich. You can make it angrier with siracha which they keep by the napkins. Bonus. The pizza has a nice crisp after it was re-heated. They also carry Honest-ea. (spelling?) I would definitely go back.

  • Kathryn G.

Always SO SO happy with my Chicken Ranch sub. I can't even order anything else because it's always so delicious. Before I discovered the Chicken Ranch, I had the angry beef - also delicious but really spicy, so don't get it if you don't like hot.

This place is great and consistent. They have a varied and interesting menu, but I keep returning for the buffalo chicken salad or their chicken ranch pizza, depending how health conscious I'm feeling.

I'm right between 3 and 4 stars for the Real Deal...once I have the opportunity to try more of their food maybe I'll change the rating. I've enjoyed the food I've had so far but nothing in particular stood out over other restaurants in the area like Eagle's Deli, Roggie's and Crazy Dough's. I liked their pizza with chicken and ranch. I'm not sure what the official name is; I just pointed to it through the glass, haha. I also got a simple Margherita type pizza which was just okay. I definitely preferred the chicken one. As far as their sandwiches go, they're large, messy (in a good way!), and flavorful. My friend ordered the Buffalo Chicken Sandwich and said it was good. I can't remember what I had exactly but it was also tasty. Overall, their food is consistently good. The only issue is that there are quite a few places in the area you can get the same food at similar prices so it doesn't really stand out in my mind.

  • Morgan L.

The food here is solid - their sandwiches taste pretty good and fresh. That said, the wait for your food is always incredibly, unreasonably long. I've been the only person in the place and waited 30 minutes for a sandwich on multiple occasions. Also, it's not the cheapest, especially considering the amount of food you get when you're literally right next door to a chipotle. Obviously different kinds food, but it makes paying $15 for a sandwich kind of sting.

Great food, when they get it right. Order a sub there two nights ago. Waited 20 minutes to get it, get home, and find out the order was wrong. Tonight, I thought I'd skip the wait and ordered online. Got confirmation it would be ready in about 15 minutes. 15 minutes later I get there and wait another 15 minutes for my order. They finally call my name, I take my order, go home, and find I was given someone else's order. I walked BACK down, gave back the order, walked out the door and down to Pino's where I got exactly what I asked form.

I'm always pleased with my meals at the Real Deal. The food is fresh (which means it takes a little longer to make) and tastes wonderful. The burgers are great, the Parmesan truffle fries provide an ethereal experience, and the chicken ranch sub/pizza are always a hit. While I usually stick to the above food options, I have heard great things about their adult grilled cheese and their salads. If you are looking for a place with an eclectic menu and fresh product--definitely come here. Highly recommended.

One thing I will say about Real Deal is they do not cheat you!! Whether you order a large pizza which is huge or you order a burger, their portions are huge. Delivery is speedy and the one time I had any issue with delivery (through grubhub they some how received my order but it never went through.) they comped the food and quickly had my food sent out after they were closed. Their food is great and their service mimics that. Good food at a reasonable price with huge portions!

Every time I go here, I get the impression that this place hates me. At first I thought it was because I was ordering burgers. Maybe those just take a lot longer to make. Switched to a panini. A salad. It doesn't matter what I order. Every time I come here, at least three people behind me get their food before me. I don't get it. It doesn't seem to matter if I get it there or to go. It takes forever to get your food no matter what you do. I only keep trying because the food is so good. Teach me the trick of your system so I can get your stupid good food in a timely manner, Real Deal. :(

In the past, I have had had nothing but positive things to say about The Real Deal. This was not the case tonight. It took over an hour for the food to be delivered. When it finally got here, the flatbread pizzas we ordered were missing. I asked the delivery driver who reported he didn't receive the pizzas. I called and was reimbursed, but it was still pretty disappointing. On top of that, we discovered that instead of sending us extra sauce for the onion rings like we had ordered, we didn't get any sauce at all. The quality of the food that we did receive wasn't up to par with other times I have ordered from The Real Deal. Hopefully next time it will be better.

I've been to the JP location and it was great. So when I saw this new location open up closer to me, I got so excited!! Their name says it all, great deal and real food. Bigger than average slices of pizza and great toppings. I HAVE to come back and try the burgers, they all sound great. On this particular visit though, I got the chicken ranch sub. SO FREAKIN GOOD. when the description says pan fried chicken, they pan fry it, fresh to order, I saw them make it. Yea, you have to wait a little longer, but it's all good when you see it being made fresh! A good sized sub too, had it for lunch 2 days in a row. so the $9 price tag isnt so bad after all. definately gonna make this a regular go-to lunch destination :) Service is great and everyone is very friendly. Down side, the place is small so when you are waiting for your food, it can get crowded. I guess next time I should call in the order.

Pizza is a famous Italian dish savored around the world. The entire credit for the popularity of Pizza in the United States goes to the chain of pizzerias all over the country. While the base and the texture of Pizza remains same across the globe, it's the toppings that differs from country to country. In the United States, you will find the top pizzerias serving pizzas with the toppings of mainly beef, bacon, chicken, ham, and sausage for the non-vegetarians. Other than these famous meat options, Pizzas with veg toppings such as mushrooms, pepperonis, garlic, tomatoes, spinach, etc. are also famous in most restaurants in the United States.

Irrespective of your locality, you will find a variety of different restaurants in your cities offering pizzas of all different types. Pizza is hot favorite among people of all ages in the United States. A large size pizza is enough to feed a family of 3 or 4 at large. Pizza is also the most preferred food whenever a group of friends is hanging out together. Pizza gained popularity in the United States after the American soldiers stationed in Italy returned from World War II.

Over the years, different pizzerias in the United States have developed their own respective regional variations. Pizza gained popularity as the iconic dish in the United States in the second half of the 20th century. Whether you prefer thin or thick crust pizza, you can find a pizza of your preference at the best pizza restaurants in your city.
