Heavenly turkey breast panini! When in doubt always order this one, it'll melt in your mouth and make you smile. Also the soup of the day is a must try! They're all so healthy and home made. You just know it by looking at it and tasting it. Best healthy home meal cafe. I would recommend the homemade chocolate oatmeal cookie for a snack togo later. Or their other amazing pastries. Their cappucino and chai latte are quite good too.

After two years of trying most of the salads and sandwiches, and never hitting a dud, I tried the Eggs Benedict for the first time this morning. The cornbread played so nicely with the avocado. The eggs were PERFECTLY poached. The hollandaise was creamy but not gluey. The ham was tender enough to cut with a fork. Every bite was a terrific combination of flavors and textures. And, the people who work at the Dash are adorable... I am pretty much speechless.

After two spectacular visits (and many more to come, I'm sure, as I start my job at St. Elizabeth's), Dash is quickly becoming one of my favorite sandwich spots in the Boston area. So far I've tried the Asian fried chicken sandwich--which could have probably used a softer bread (unless my brioche was overcooked?) to balance out the crunchiness of the chicken and the slaw--and the veggie panini--which is simply unimprovable. Both sandwiches come with a pickle and a side scoop of pasta or potato salad and are notable for their generous size and bold, fresh ingredients. For less than $10, you'd be hard-pressed to find a better, more satisfying lunch anywhere. As if the incredible food (which runs the gamut from soup, salad, and sandwiches to burritos and breakfast--you best believe I'm going to make it my mission to try it all) wasn't enough, service at Dash, while at times a little slow (good food takes time to prepare, regardless of the name of the restaurant), is warm and welcoming. It's clear the people working at Dash care about their customers and providing them with the best experience possible. Oh, and did I mention that you can get a free iced coffee with any purchase if you check in with the Yelp app? Seriously, it's an embarrassment of riches at Dash. What are you even doing still reading this review? Go there now!

This was our first meal out after a long day of unpacking and it was also our first meal out in Boston! We came upon Dash Cafe while just walking around looking for Lunch and thought sandwiches and salads sounded refreshing! We ordered the Bahn Mi with Pork and a Asian Chicken Salad. (Next time I'll have to try the Asian Fried Chicken Sandwich- apparently it's all the rage!) The ice tea here is unsweetened and SO DELICIOUS! Perfect for summer weather! We sat in the back where there is a very small patio- it's very cute. Our meals came in about ten minutes or so. We were blown away by how both the sandwich and the salad were so well done! The tastes were superb and the ingredients were just fresh and delicious! Couldn't have asked for a better first meal! Price isn't too bad either. Overall two sandwiches and an ice tea added up to about $23! Definitely will come back again!

Wow. This place blew my expectations out of the water. I can usually eat a lot, but don't like ridiculous portion sizes. dash has their plate sizes spot on. I got the grilled steak sandwich and was in awe. Some real finesse goes into these sandwiches and it really makes a difference in the end. 10/10 will try all their sandwiches.
I LOVE DASH CAFÉ! This place is adorable and delicious. Small and clean with a large variety of salads and sandwiches. Cute back patio. Good iced tea and coffee. Overall just a great local cafe.

Hidden jewel alert!! This place is amazing! The Chile Burrito almost left my boyfriend in tears it was so good. I had a Vietnamese sandwich which was equally as awesome. The owners were super sweet and the brownies they serve at the counter are to die for. The only negative thing I had to add (not worthy of deducting a star) their back patio needs a cleaning and a makeover:( It was dirty and not very inviting. We moved inside to eat. Everything else was PERFECT!

I forgive you Dash cafe. I had high hopes seeing all the reviews but I had a horrible experience with the attitude of two of the staff members here, specifically the older gentlemen and the lady who is cooking. I wonder if there are others who have had similar experiences with their lack of hospitality, if not I'm glad your experience has been good but don't be surprised if someone does speak to you or stares at you in a rude or demeaning manor that is VERY noticeable to those around you. I just moved to Massachusetts last year and this is the first review I have made for a cafe or restaurant. I usually do not write reviews even if the food or service isn't the best but with this place, It needed to be said. Food was so so but service really made me regret ever entering in.

Best. Fried chicken sandwich. Ever. We randomly walked by this place one day and decided to step in and try it, and have been coming back ever since. The Asian fried chicken sandwich is perfect, with sriracha aoli and a little bit of coleslaw. My favorite part of the sandwich is actually the bread: they use these brioche buns that are perfectly fresh and sweet. I've also had the banh mi and the chicken pesto sandwich, and they are quality. However what brings me back every time is that fried chicken! I can't get enough of it!

Came here to detox away my problems and got an Asian chicken salad. Babe got a California club wrap without bacon and cheese. Both taste excellent. Hers was fresh and the chicken was flavorfully grilled. My salad is a different ballpark though. The flavors worked well together. Everything was diced finely so each bite was full of flavors. The crunchiness of the wonton strips and the nuts combined nicely with the burst of mandarin orange. Very yummy.

I have been here multiple times, and I know what to expect each time- attentive cashier service, an average of a 15 minute wait, and AMAZING food. I usually stick to the same thing, the Asian fried chicken sandwich. Quality bread, fresh ingredients, perfectly seasoned, and the perfect balance between savory and tangy. I have ventured out to the banh mi as well, which is also very good. I live farther away now so coming to Dash is a weekend treat. Minus one star because although you get attentive cashier service, they do not make you feel welcome. Everyone that works here looks like they hate life. I try to smile and make conversation, but I get nothing in return. I don't mean to be one of those snooty reviewers that demand perfect service and attention, but it's true what they say- a little smile goes a long way.

Checking in few months later. Still love this place. That Asian fried chicken sandwich makes late nights at the office something to look forward to. The only worst part is when I finish it and have to get back to work--I almost have depressive episodes when I realize they're closed early on Saturday and entirely on Sundays. I escape the wait during the lunch hour by calling in my order, you won't usually be dashing out of here quickly between 1130-1 pm. Worth the wait for me! Thanks Dash for brightening up a tired residents life!

I absolutely love this place! Everything I have tried so far is great. Especially the Asian fried chicken sandwich, unbelievable! And the orzo they give you when you eat in is also a wonderful addition. I will say one of the cashiers is a little less than friendly...but other than that this place is a gem!

My friend and I decided to visit this place for a nice Saturday morning breakfast, but it was probably my worst breakfast experience. I ordered the waffles with strawberry compote while my friend ordered the breakfast burrito. The burrito arrived, my friend ate it, and my waffle still wasn't ready. The cafe wasn't even swamped with customers (2 to be precise!). After a really long wait, my waffles finally arrived! To my disappointment, it was soaked in the compote which made it soggy. Not to mention the huge dollops of whipped cream on top of it. I tried to eat a few bites because I hate wasting food (and money!) but it was very unappetizing. Ultimately I had to throw all of it away. All in all,it was very disappointing especially since I had heard good things about this place.

What a find! I went with my boyfriend and a friend during the lunch hour. I got the carne asada burrito--not spicy at all, which is great for me because I don't like spicy food. Boyfriend got the turkey panini + he loved it. Friend got soup special + Asian salad. We all split the garlic fries--soooo tasty and big enough to split. All of our bills were under $12! Delicious and good sized portions. Beware in the summer, there is no AC.

Really refreshing and fulling dishes. It's cute that you can sit outside in a homey patio feel. The service is pretty awkward to be honest. Everyone kind of stares at you oddly and doesn't really make you feel welcome...unless you're very sensitive it's dealable. Would return.

Best breakfast sandwich I ever had. Amazing banh-mi lunch sandwich. Delicious coffee, great egg burritos. Cozy spot outside on the patio perfect for sunny cool days. Brighton's best kept secret!

Tried this place on a whim, and it was a great choice. The menu here boasts a ton of fresh salads, wraps and sandwiches, many of which seem to have a slight Asian/Vietnamese theme. I opted for the Asian chicken salad which was filling and delicious. Next time I'll try the banh mi or bun cha. The iced coffee here was also great and the prices are reasonable considering the portion sizes.

This place is spectacular, the food is fantastic, the prices are cheap, and the atmosphere is to die for. Their salads are amazing, and the breakfast burritos will have me coming back for more. Try sitting out back for a refreshing removal from the hustle of city life, or just get it to go if you've got to "dash". 10 out of 10, 5 stars, will eat here again. Wow.

Dash Cafe more like Slow Cafe Honestly I LOVE their food but this place should change their name to Slow Cafe...1 hour for a sandwich!!!! Sorry guys hire some more cooks. If you're willing to wait they do have one of the best bahn mi sandwiches around.

This place has everything you could want and more for lunch. Sandwiches, burritos, salads you name it. They have many options to choose regarding breads. Some dishes have an Asian twist to it. I had a hard time deciding what I wanted but ended up choosing the southwestern salad with steak. It so so good. Also, I would recommend the watermelon strawberry lemonade...delicious!

Awesome food, spotless, friendly service, killer outdoor seating area, it doesn't get much better than this. I would recommend the veggie wrap, though the chicken salad is very good as well. My roommate really like the banh mi, which I personally haven't had but it does look good. Solid iced coffee as well. Really the only thing I would change about this place is that it's closed on Sundays! Definitely worth a visit.

Unlike most Cafe's, this one serves superb coffee AND delicious food. I'm thrilled that I came across this gem. Unfortunately it is a bit of a drive for me, but anything else in the immediate vicinity to where I live pales in comparison.

Awesome Banh Mi sandwich, I've had both the chicken and the pork versions, crammed with zesty, crunchy stuff, all the flavors perfectly balanced. They also have the best breakfast sandwich around: freshly fried egg (over medium, not cooked into a thick rubber patty like everywhere else) with quality sharp cheddar cheese, sliced tomato, on grilled Iggy's multi-grain bread -- fantastic.

See, this is why I love Yelp. You find these little gems in places you wouldn't expect or look. I'm not from the area, but I wanted a little cafe where I could hang out, have a yummy iced drink and a sandwich. Perfect place. Quiet, comfortable, free wifi which is always a plus, and friendly service. I ordered a wild cherry lemonade and the veggie panini. The panini was so fresh, all the veggies were cooked to perfection which were accompanied by big hunks of delicious mozzerella all stuffed in between to pieces of fresh rosemary brioche. So good but I had to take the other half home. They have a lot of items to choose from as well so I will definitely be back!

The food is excellent, the Asian Fried Chicken sandwich is outstanding. I have called in an order twice. One time my order was lost, they found it sitting on the counter but never put in. I waited 25 minutes for my food with no apology. The second time my co-worker called it in and we waited the 20 minutes before we went to grab our take-out order. Once there spent another 30 minutes waiting.... The employees are NOT friendly at all but the food is so good!

Dash Cafe is a great little spot across the street (Cambridge Street, that is) from St. Elizabeth's. You order at the counter and pick up at another counter on the left - although I suspect that they deliver if you take one of the few tables out back on the patio. Leesha Z.'s description of the vegetable panini $8.25 (grilled zucchini and eggplant, roasted red peppers, grilled red onions, fresh mozzarella, basil pesto, served on a rosemary focaccia) enticed me to try this healthy option. Not that it took all that much - the "big hunks of delicious mozzarella" had my name on it, and I have a thing for yummy vegetables. It arrived sliced in two fat halves filled with significant portions of each ingredient in a bun that had the heft to hold it all in, on a plate with a pickle and a tiny portion of tortellini salad - so small as to almost be an after thought, although it was well dressed with a decent ratio of crisp diced veggies. To go with it, we ordered the Dash Scramble $8.50 (scrambled eggs, swiss, tomatoes, leeks, mushrooms, home fries, choice of bacon or sausage, choice of toast - white, wheat, rye), which was tasty as well, though I personally preferred the panini. The toast was highly buttered - bad for the arteries but yum for the taste buds. The potatoes were the soft tender sort. They also offer fries $2.50, garlic fries $2.95, and sweet potato fries $3.25, served in a good sized bowl. Something to think about! A customer offered me a taste when I commented on it as he picked up his order by my table - the sweet potato fry was the crispy on the outside sort! Next time... They have a recycle bin and you bust your own table. I only wish they'd make the window to their unisex single bathroom more opaque; it is a bit unnerving to realize if someone looked in just the right direction from the patio that they might catch you at an inopportune moment. *** 11/2013 visit *** Came back for the sweet potato fries $3.25. A goodly portion of thin cut fries - a bit like planks, which were crisp on the inside and yet still soft and meaty within and full of good natural sweet potato flavor. Service was place your order and pay at the counter, and they called your name for pick up on the side. When things toned down, however, the cook staff started serving the dishes as they were prepared. When I asked for a container for my leftover fries, I was offered a fresh container of ketchup to go with if I liked. Nice!

Yes this is as good as it gets. I've updated my initial review to 5 stars (I actually wrote this over a year ago but forgot to hit the save now!!). My god I love this place. To all the reviewers who complained about the wait time. If you want speed over quality go somewhere else. The food here is so wonderful, EVERY SINGLE TIME, because Sonie takes the time and care to make it so. Homemade from scratch, FRESH and DElicious. When she makes a Bahn Mi, carefully she ensures that all the components are present for every single bite. Love the salads, soups, veggie roll ups with zucchini, red onions, eggplant, roasted peppers, hummus, feta, so tasty. If you are looking for fresh, healthy and tasty, search no more you're there.

This review is based solely on the tofu sandwich and one hot summer day in July. The sandwich is incredible, it's so refreshing to find a place that serves tofu that isn't a thai restaurant. However, having been inside I can say that I will not be coming back. The woman who was cooking was so unbelievably rude to her employees that I can't come back. Anyone who berates employees in front of costumers like that is not the type of person that I want to give my business to. Great sandwich or not, this unpleasant woman has made the decision for me.

The food here is great, however the friendliness is awful. The male, who I believe is the owner, took my order the past few times and has been nothing but rude and short. No matter how polite I am he doesn't know how to say thank you or you're welcome. I think he needs to put a smile on and at least pretend to care about his paying customers. This also happened another time with a female worker a few months back. My boyfriend and I actually joke about it before we go in and wonder how happy the owners will be this time. I will not be returning. I would rather give my money to cafenation, they actually like people.

The employees were all very welcoming and the food was excellent. The turkey sandwich was awesome and you know when something is good when the turkey is hand carved! The veggie burger my sister ordered was excellent. My wife had the Bahn Mia was the bomb.... I highly recommend!

The food here is fabulous!! The coffee is also good and there are a ton of things to choose from. The only negative is the service isn't fast if you are in a rush, but totally worth the wait if you aren't.

I LOVE LOVE LOVE Dash Cafe! I wish I had discovered it sooner. The employees are patient, kind and helpful and they remember your name! I have a dairy allergy and they are always willing to check ingredients and help me figure out what I can eat from the menu - and they are nice about it (which is rare). The food is excellent. And fresh. I mean, it's really freakin' good! So far I've sampled the Bahn Mi, a couple different soups of the day, the Bun Cha, the chicken salad sandwich, and the herbed grilled chicken breast sandwich. Oh, and the GARLIC FRIES!!!! Which are basically some fries served with a ton of fresh garlic and parsley and they are fantastic (but be warned, if you take them back to your office to eat, your co-workers will know what you've been up to because they smell so good!). So far, there is nothing on the menu that isn't great. The ingredients are fresh and the dishes are well prepared. I hear they have an awesome brunch on Saturdays, which I will definitely be checking out.

Love Dash cafe! This place had an extensive menu of sandwiches, salads, soup, burritos and wraps and really great baked goods. Everything sounds good and everything I've had has been wonderful. This is your best bet for lunch or brunch on a Saturday in Brighton center.

Great food! I have only tried their Vietnamese pulled-pork sandwich and I just can't get enough. The place is informal and familiar, good venue. Service may get a little slow but everything is prepared on-site. You get great value for the price and I think they just expanded service hours.

I had a really weird experience here. My partner and I went in during a trip to Boston (prior to the move here) to find a tasty dinner that wouldn't be too horribly expensive. The menu looked very promising, but we needed a little time to decide what we wanted. During that whole time, the man working the counter completely ignored us. He never even said hello to us. When we decided, we had to get his attention, because it seemed like he was purposefully ignoring us. We took a seat after placing our orders, and it took a while for the food to come out. So long, in fact, that we were wondering if we had to go back up to get it or were missing something about how the service worked there. Finally it came out, and it was very tasty. I was starting to forget about the crappy service because the food was so good. When we were done, we took our dishes to the bus bin and the guy FINALLY acknowledged us! It seemed like he was ready to be friendly all of a sudden, which I was open to. "How was everything guys?" "Oh it was really tasty, thanks!" "Did you manage to finish ALL of that?!" "..." He basically insulted us for finishing our food. We each got a sandwich and fries. Yes, that's a lot of fries, true, but we spent the whole day driving up from NJ and we were hungry. It's a lot of food, but it's pretty insulting to act incredulous that your customers could *possibly* eat all of that. We're not fat, we were hungry. It's not that shocking. Overall, it left us with a bad taste in our mouths and we won't be back. Too bad, too, I work in the neighborhood. I just don't feel the need to be insulted while out to eat.

This cafe is just terrific! All the items I have tried off the menu were fresh and delicious. Their dressings are flavorful and not overpowering. There is a variety to pick from, too. My office mates and I go for lunch often.

I miss the food from dash the most since my move home to Ireland!!!! There is no comparison to the fresh and delicious food cooked in dash. Soonie, your cafe is one of a kind!!! I'll be back in December and I know exactly where I'll be having my first meal. :)

i feel kinda guilty tarnishing dash's 5-star average, because they're REALLY good, but my test of a 5-star restaurant (or "cafe".... whatever....) is how annoying i get about obsessively endorsing them. ask me about strip t's, island creek, lone star, tasty burger and you're gonna regret it if you have anywhere to be anytime soon. ask me about dash and i'll be like "awesome. definitely go there soon". really hope they stick around cuz a good (healthy) sandwich place is something brighton center's been in need of for a while.

Dash is my favorite cafe. The food is fresh, delicious, and affordable. Add to that a friendly staff, great music, and a clean setting and you have the perfect mealtime getaway. The menu is also quite creative with a mix of American-style and international (ie: Vietnamese, Mexican) selections. For a little kick, try the grilled beef sandwich. It's amazing!

It's funny that this place is named 'Dash Cafe' because pretty much the only thing it ISN'T is fast. Maybe they should rename it "Inertia Cafe" because it has momentum, and 'cause it's probably going to steamroll other Brighton restaurants in the future. I have an esteemed friend from Washington, DC who speaks marvels of the Boston burrito scene (he makes note of stopping at the likes of Boloco, Anna's, Boca, El Palon, etc. when he's up here). Well, they can all piss off, because the best burrito I've had in Bostonia came from Dash Cafe - and burritos aren't even this places' specialty. So on the speed thing, yeah, you gotta call about fifteen minutes ahead to pick up. You can order while you're there, but you'll probably be double-parked - this may cause you to crap your pants, as there's a police station across the way. So call ahead, okay? Oh ya, and this is going to cost about ten clams no matter what you're getting, so you should know that going in (a couple $$ less for the smaller stuff, like burritos). The thing is, you'll get what you paid for. Dash actually seems like it's just some ongoing experiment where the world's top chefs just make whatever lunch food they want. Quantity is solid, and ingredient quality is off the charts (no pale-ass tomatoes or hard avocados here). The flavors always make sense - none of those weird it's-got-all-the-hip-ingredients mashups that leave you confused and questioning your place in life. And it's been true of everything I've had - you could throw a dart at the menu and get anything and still walk away happy. Hope this place keeps it up - but I know it will. At least a couple of local people are eating here every single day.

Dash is fabulous and probably one of the best lunch restaurants in Boston. Located across from St. Elizabeth's hospital. All the food is very fresh, light and cooked on the grill located visibly in front of the store. I've eaten burritos, wraps and salads and they are the best Boston has to offer. It's likely few know about dash as it is hidden in Brighton but it is well worth the trip.

You better DASH to this local neighborhood cafe. Simply delicious. Grilled vegetable panini (4.75 stars) - generous slices of fresh vegetables (eggplant, zucchini, onions, etc) with a perfect combo of cheese, delicious pesto dressing, and toasted bread with the perfect chewiness with nice crunch on the edges. Asian chicken salad (4.75 stars)- generous portion of fresh lettuce, tomatoes, almonds, tangerines, etc with a very tasty dressing that was not too heavy nor too sweet. I scarfed own the whole thing. Low-key, welcoming neighborhood place near the police station in Brighton Center. Wouldn't have checked out this place if it weren't for yelp. Bottom line: Love it. I might just dash back here tomorrow. Chalk another good one up to Yelp.

Totally tried this place based on the reviews and the fact that it was snowing since we would be walking. No one else was there when we walked in, but while we were eating and then leaving, more and more people were coming in. We got two different sandwiches and they were served rather quickly. The food was good and filling, not too expensive. A little rice "salad" was included. Great place to duck in during a snow storm and a quick bite :)

Asian Crispy Chicken Sandwich= definitely a mind blowing sandwich; this is my FAVORITE dish here at Dash; they use an amazing coleslaw (i'm pretty sure that they use pickled ginger in it); the chicken is panko crusted with sesame sprinkles and the sriracha mayo is on-point! Curry Chicken Salad= tasted good; it was kind of sweet and curry flavor was not overpowering Breakfast Sandwich= they let me build my own and it tasted great! Tomato Bisque soup= awesome (super flavorful) Grilled Beef Sandwich= i love the taste of arugula and the beef was tender; my husband loves the chipotle aioli they use on this Chicken Bahn Mi= pretty legit; they didn't skimp on the meat Mexican Torta with Carnitas= one of the best tortas I've ever had Ginger Lemonade Tea= amazing!!!! Green Tea with Mango= amazing!!!! I think this place is my favorite sandwich spot. I always come here for the Asian Crispy Chicken Sandwich and I always ask for extra asian slaw and for them to use Ciabatta bread. My husband prefers the brioche bun they use (how the chicken sandwich normally comes) but I'm a sucker for ciabatta bread, hence the modification. I swear I can eat five of these every day and not get sick of it. My BFF owns a Chinese restaurant and she names her regular customers after the dish that they order everyday.......now, I don't want to be called "Asian Fried Chicken Sandwich" by the staff so I started ordering their other items and I must say, I am not disappointed. Every single sandwich I have tried tasted great (hence the list above). The people who run the store are really nice and you can tell that they use fresh ingredients. The open kitchen shows you that they cook to order so that alone proves everything you order was freshly made. They don't sell soda but they sell healthier drink options instead. I'm happy with their drinks as well. You can see how happy I am with their food based on my check-ins (which is not even half of how many times I've bought food here---I always forget to check in so just triple that number!).

I would give this restaurant ten stars if possible. I have never had a bad meal here and I eat here frequently. Everything is prepared with incredible attention to detail. The bahn mi is far superior to any other I have ever had. The weekly specials are always incredible. If you ever see the bulgogi burger on the menu do not hesitate. Do yourself a huge favor and try this place, you will certainly not be disappointed.

I would eat here for my last meal... Everything I've tried was beautiful. The staff is friendly and it's very clean and well run. I always take friends when there in town visiting.

Leanne C.
The friendliness of the staff is there, the location is a bit isolated and they're always trying new things. When it comes down to it, service alone cannot be the reasoning for an amazing review. I've dropped in here a couple times for a soy latte and (hopes of) breakfast. The price, a pinch higher than I'd hope (but its local so who cares) and the drink itself hits a bit below my standard. I love my soy lattes. I get them everywhere. I think I have a pretty decent idea on how one should be as far as flavor/texture go. Their espresso tastes kinda funky. And the employees don't know how to foamatize soy milk yet. Half of the joy of a latte is the frothy milk! I tried the dessert and muffin fare here as well: also hits below par. I'm all for pre-made baked goods (having had that in a cafe I used to work at) but at least choose some decent tasting ones? Needless to say, I've started to opt out of coming here when nearby and either forgoing my morning caffeine fix or walking down to one of the other options further down in town. This place has potential; in a few months maybe they'll be better, maybe they'll be worse. Who knows!

Exactly what I was looking for. Fresh, quality ingredients made to order. I got the house salad with chicken and sweet potato fries. Coffee was really good as well. I will eat here every time I'm in town.

The sandwiches are pretty good! Not the best that I have ever had, but pretty good! The staff is very friendly, and made some great garlic fries. We came on a day when it was 40 degrees outside, and the temperature was a bit cold... we kept our coats on while eating.

Dash Cafe is, without a doubt, one of the best restaurants I have had the pleasure of eating at. Honestly - if I had the choice between dinner at an expensive steakhouse and Dash - I would choose Dash hands down. It seems that every item on their menu is a new favorite for me but my top two items are the Asian fried chicken sandwich and the grilled beef with bleu cheese salad. The food itself if phenomenal with attention to details (the meat on the salads is always cut into perfect bite size pieces) and the service is always excellent. This is one of those restaurants that you want to tell everyone about because you know it will be their new favorite place to eat. I really can't think of a place that I would choose over Dash.....that's how good it is!!

I live right around the corner from this place and Dash Cafe is the fourth establishment to rent the space since I moved into the neighborhood... three years ago. That's a lot of turnover! I'm happy that this place has stuck it out, and that people seem to be in favor of it. Brighton Center definitely needed a nice little cafe to visit, as it's mostly just pizza, bar food, bar drinks, and Dunkin'. No, thank you. But yes, please to their sandwiches! The Asian Chicken is something that I actually find myself craving after a few weeks without one, and it's so refreshing to see a menu that has some thought put into it. It's tough for small business owners, especially food-oriented ones, and their location has proven to be inhospitable to a number of different venues prior to Dash. So keep on showing Dash your love, keep on spreading the word, and Dash staff? Keep on making such great bites.

This place has awesome food. Salads are super fresh with quality ingredients and great portions too! We've tried the soup twice and it was ok but not a lot of flavor/bland. I would give the entrees here five stars, no question, but I had to dock a star because the service has been very slow every time we've been and the workers are not very friendly. My only other two gripes are they are not open on Sunday and the prices are pretty high for a lot of their menu items. The food is fresh so it's worth it for the entrees, just wish they would come down a bit on their side items. All in all I would absolutely recommend this place. It's perfect for a nice Saturday afternoon if you aren't in a rush-now if only we could speed up the service and get them open on Sunday I'd be coming every weekend!!!

Really great food - been hitting up this place for lunch lately and loved everything I've had. They have a little patio out back that's open in nice weather - just down the hall on the right.
Honestly, I'd call it the best food spot in Brighton Center. I've explored the menu a lot and I like all the sandwiches and salads. They have cool drinks as well which they make in-house. They are located in a spot which has turned over several restaurants over the past few years but they're the first one that is really knocking it out of the park. Also, they have a cool little patio in the back that's a nice little spot to enjoy your food. I recommend the Bahn Mi sandwich!

Seriously fresh and delicious. Had the southwest salad with beef. Dressing was light and added nice depth. Many options for food and drink. Convenient location right in brighton center and staff members were friendly. Can't wait to try some other items!

I'm positive Dash will break the curse of this location, the one that has already been inhabited by three different restaurants in just a years time. Because finally somebody has got it right: fresh food, fair prices, calming ambiance, top shelf coffee, and friendly staff. And it's open until 7pm which means I can get healthy take out in Brighton now too, YAY! I plan on trying everything on the menu at least once... ONCE I get past the amazing the huevos rancheros I had for brunch. Probably the best ever, killing me softly with its refried black beans and homemade chile sauce topped with cotija cheese. Unbelievable. The diversity of the menu is impressive -- a great variety of vietnamese, mexican and american food. And it's not in a messy-we-don't-know-who-we-are, kind of way. It actually works.

Nice spot across the street from St E's. Coffee and chocolate croissant were delicious. Ambiance is perfect for anyone looking to have a quiet conversation, read, or just enjoy their coffee. Cafenation is too loud and obnoxious, Duncan's is Duncan's. This spot is just right, hopefully they stick around.

Asian Fried Chicken Sandwich really hits the spot. This is probably my favorite sandwich in the area.

Having been open for just several months, Dash is off to a good start (no pun intended). Just stopped by for some hibiscus lime iced tea on my way home, but it was refreshing and just lightly sweetened with some honey. The selection of baked goods is a bit limited, but there are plenty of options for sandwiches and salads...including their take on banh mi! Prices are reasonable overall and the place seems to be pretty popular with the staff at St. Elizabeth's right across the street, so I expect the food will be up to snuff when I get around to trying it.

Wow - this place is a great deal for breakfast/coffee/dessert! I haven't tried the lunch options yet, but I am hopeful that it is just as good. These guys just opened up recently so service is superb. I got a premade ham&cheese to go and they offered to heat it up - it is those little things that make a difference for me. The pastries here are so yummy - they are imported from Watertown :-) Overall this seems like a promising venture - they are open on weekdays until 7 and also on the weekends. I'm told they also have free wifi - you just have to ask for the password.

Great locally owned cafe. Try the chicken Bahn mi or one of the good veggie dishes.

excellent food and accommodating. Cut the bill for me because they were out of homefries and got a free coffee for checkng in on yelp
Yay! Healthy, delicious food at a fair price right near my job! Went in today for the first time and got the Southwestern salad with grilled tofu. Delicious! Everything tastes so light and fresh. The ambiance is nice, too. I haven't tried the coffee yet, but I'm excited to try it and use their cute little "bar" made from an old dresser :-) I am a bit worried, though. It's in a weird location, off a little curved side street and it seemed pretty empty. It was lunchtime and right across the street from a hospital, so I was surprised. Hope other people come in and discover this cute little spot! I saw on the breakfast menu that they have lemon ricotta pancakes with blueberry syrup. Soooo stopping in on my way to work tomorrow!

Ok, so the guy who took my order wasn't the friendliest chap around, but dammit did the food make up for it. Tried the vietnamese sandwich and it was out of this world good fresh ingredients, healthy and made with care. Nice little patio in the back as well. Go now!

I'm so happy to live near Dash - the food and coffee is amazing, there's free wifi, and it's a wonderful place to just hang out for a few hours. There's even a nice little hidden garden in the back! I actually shouldn't be reviewing - I want to keep it as my secret, and I have a feeling it'll get packed once more people discover it - but the owners seem really nice and they deserve to do well!

I am a long-time Brighton resident who enjoys patronizing local coffee shops. I tried Dash this morning for the very first time and I will not be back. First, they get a zero on customer service. I walk in, and as the man behind the counter makes eye-contact with me, he continues to turn his back to me and go on about what he was doing as I waited at the counter. Once he decided to join me at the counter, he did not have the courtesy of giving any form of salutation, not even a smile- just a straight face as though he was annoyed I walked in. Second, I proceeded to order what has been the worst cup of "fresh" coffee I've had to date. Third, I purchased a lemon poppy seed slice that was stale; I suspected that it was old, and I should have trusted myself. All in all, I left there wishing I had never entered. There are too many great small business in Brighton Center to waste money and time at this spot. I recommend Treats on Washington, Mirror Cafe, CafeNation, and Athans, all of which serve great food, great coffee, with great service.

got 3 sandwiches today the texan loved her carnitas the vegetarian loved her veggie panini the steak sandwich i got was great. def not your usual steak and cheese: real steak, crispy veggies, tasty combo of condiments not sure where they get their bread but the three sandwiches came on different varieties, all excellent, especially the rosemary focaccia for the veg its been a tricky location to maintain, but i think dash has something to add to the neighborhood. nobody's really doing this caliber of sandwiches. also, i always back SMALL menus: pick a few things, put some thought into it, do em right, keep fresh ingredients around. i really hope this place lasts

I've been here several times since it opened last year . Very consistent, excellent salads and sandwiches. All ingredients are very fresh and the owners are friendly and professional. I will return many times again.

This place rules! Excellent sandwiches! I'm obsessed with the bahn mi and the Asian fried chicken sandwich. Their pulled pork sandwich is honestly one of the best I've had in my life. Everything is so well balanced with savory, salty, sweet, spicy flavors alongside soft and crunchy textures. Great coffee too! These people really know what they're doing. Very friendly as well

Dash cafe is great! I live right around the corner and have been several times to try out different salads and sandwiches, all of which have been delicious. The people who run the place are very friendly, and they recently started using levelup, which is convenient. Dash is much better than the last few restaurants in this location and I hope it sticks around!

Great, fresh food with nice and friendly owners. Loved the Vietnamese Pork Sandwich, but I'm dying to try so many of the others that it's a tough call which to eat next.

Stopped by and grabbed a sandwich and some coffee this morning. food was great and the portions were generous. The atmosphere was very nice. Will definitely get food from here again.

(5)Tucker H.
(5)Chloé R.
I LOVE DASH CAFÉ! This place is adorable and delicious. Small and clean with a large variety of salads and sandwiches. Cute back patio. Good iced tea and coffee. Overall just a great local cafe.
(5)K. H.
(5)Linwah L.

(5)My H.
Very yummy.
(4)Rebecca C.
(4)Elizabeth K.
(5)Kimberly M.
I absolutely love this place! Everything I have tried so far is great. Especially the Asian fried chicken sandwich, unbelievable! And the orzo they give you when you eat in is also a wonderful addition. I will say one of the cashiers is a little less than friendly...but other than that this place is a gem!
(5)Mayuri S.
(1)Alyssa F.
(4)Nancy M.
Really refreshing and fulling dishes. It's cute that you can sit outside in a homey patio feel. The service is pretty awkward to be honest. Everyone kind of stares at you oddly and doesn't really make you feel welcome...unless you're very sensitive it's dealable. Would return.
(3)Alexis P.
Best breakfast sandwich I ever had. Amazing banh-mi lunch sandwich. Delicious coffee, great egg burritos. Cozy spot outside on the patio perfect for sunny cool days. Brighton's best kept secret!
(5)Evan H.
(5)Kelsey B.
Wow.
(5)Bob E.
Dash Cafe more like Slow Cafe Honestly I LOVE their food but this place should change their name to Slow Cafe...1 hour for a sandwich!!!! Sorry guys hire some more cooks. If you're willing to wait they do have one of the best bahn mi sandwiches around.
(3)Jessica F.
(5)Chris R.
(5)Chelsea W.
Already ate over half of the special egg sandwich. Special doesn't do it justice!! Like a breakfast style cubano
(5)Joel Z.
Enjoyed the Bahn Mi Vietnamese sandwich. The pickled veggies tasted fresh and the jalepeño was the perfect kick to it all! Definitely need to come back and try some other dishes.
(4)Eli s.
Unlike most Cafe's, this one serves superb coffee AND delicious food. I'm thrilled that I came across this gem. Unfortunately it is a bit of a drive for me, but anything else in the immediate vicinity to where I live pales in comparison.
(5)Matt B.
(5)Leesha Z.
(5)Derek F.
Excellent little place!! Try the Asian Fried Chicken Sandwich and chai latte!! 5 stars all around
(5)Deanna S.
(3)Vivian C.

(5)Dylan W.
(4)Kayla E.
(2)Hank D.
The employees were all very welcoming and the food was excellent. The turkey sandwich was awesome and you know when something is good when the turkey is hand carved! The veggie burger my sister ordered was excellent. My wife had the Bahn Mia was the bomb.... I highly recommend!
(5)Emily M.
The food here is fabulous!! The coffee is also good and there are a ton of things to choose from. The only negative is the service isn't fast if you are in a rush, but totally worth the wait if you aren't.
(5)Jonathan G.
Diverse food selection at a fair price. If you work at St Elizabeth's you should stop by for lunch.
(5)Shannon F.
(5)Kate S.
Love Dash cafe! This place had an extensive menu of sandwiches, salads, soup, burritos and wraps and really great baked goods. Everything sounds good and everything I've had has been wonderful. This is your best bet for lunch or brunch on a Saturday in Brighton center.
(5)Ralph O.
Great food! I have only tried their Vietnamese pulled-pork sandwich and I just can't get enough. The place is informal and familiar, good venue. Service may get a little slow but everything is prepared on-site. You get great value for the price and I think they just expanded service hours.
(4)Reyn A.
Friendly staff! The banh mi and Asian chicken sandwiches are delicious. Love this place!
(5)Kelly S.
(2)Jill O.
This cafe is just terrific! All the items I have tried off the menu were fresh and delicious. Their dressings are flavorful and not overpowering. There is a variety to pick from, too. My office mates and I go for lunch often.
(4)Kimberly S.
YUMMMMMMM!!!! I eat here all the time. Everything I've tried is delicious and the ingredients are so fresh. Perfect when you are looking for fresh food with some thought and care behind it.
(5)Caitriona R.
I miss the food from dash the most since my move home to Ireland!!!! There is no comparison to the fresh and delicious food cooked in dash. Soonie, your cafe is one of a kind!!! I'll be back in December and I know exactly where I'll be having my first meal. :)
(5)Walter G.
i feel kinda guilty tarnishing dash's 5-star average, because they're REALLY good, but my test of a 5-star restaurant (or "cafe".... whatever....) is how annoying i get about obsessively endorsing them. ask me about strip t's, island creek, lone star, tasty burger and you're gonna regret it if you have anywhere to be anytime soon. ask me about dash and i'll be like "awesome. definitely go there soon". really hope they stick around cuz a good (healthy) sandwich place is something brighton center's been in need of for a while.

Excellent find. Thanks Yelpers. Lunch was awesome. Veggie Panini, fish chowder, chicken bahn mi, garlic fries, and herb grilled chicken. All first rate. All fresh. Bread was great. Excellent service. Go. Go. Go.

I had vegetable panini for brunch. The food was really great. I didn't realize that they close early at 3pm on Saturdays but we didn't get asked to leave until 4pm. The service was really great I should say.

I would eat here for my last meal... Everything I've tried was beautiful. The staff is friendly and it's very clean and well run. I always take friends when there in town visiting.
(5)Leanne C.
Who knows!
(3)Jim C.
Exactly what I was looking for. Fresh, quality ingredients made to order. I got the house salad with chicken and sweet potato fries. Coffee was really good as well. I will eat here every time I'm in town.
(5)Florina K.

(5)Kimberly T.

(5)Samantha G.
If I could eat lunch at only one place for the rest of my life, Dash Café would be it. This adorable little restaurant has the most delicious, fresh, interesting, and just generally fabulous food in Boston. My favorite is the Vietnamese sandwich which comes on a huge crusty loaf of bread and has just the right amount of spice. Try their iced teas and their soups of the day. I love DASH!!
(5)Ro G.
(5)Ashley M.

(3)Stephen T.

(5)jay s.
Great locally owned cafe. Try the chicken Bahn mi or one of the good veggie dishes.
(5)Raul L.
excellent food and accommodating. Cut the bill for me because they were out of homefries and got a free coffee for checkng in on yelp
(5)Diggy D.
An eatery like this has been a long time coming in the Greater Boston area. The food is absolutely yummy! Everything is fresh and prepared to perfection. I highly recommend Dash Café!!
(5)Dee B.
(5)Tommy C.
Ok, so the guy who took my order wasn't the friendliest chap around, but dammit did the food make up for it. Tried the vietnamese sandwich and it was out of this world good fresh ingredients, healthy and made with care. Nice little patio in the back as well. Go now!
(5)Allie S.

Been there on several occasions. This is exactly what Brighton Center needed. Fantastic menu. Great sandwiches and salads.
(5)mike d.
I've been here several times since it opened last year . Very consistent, excellent salads and sandwiches. All ingredients are very fresh and the owners are friendly and professional. I will return many times again.
(5)Josh P.
Very friendly as well
(5)Megan P.
Dash cafe is great! I live right around the corner and have been several times to try out different salads and sandwiches, all of which have been delicious. The people who run the place are very friendly, and they recently started using levelup, which is convenient. Dash is much better than the last few restaurants in this location and I hope it sticks around!
(5)Nicole C.
Great, fresh food with nice and friendly owners. Loved the Vietnamese Pork Sandwich, but I'm dying to try so many of the others that it's a tough call which to eat next.
(5)Ryan P.
Stopped by and grabbed a sandwich and some coffee this morning. food was great and the portions were generous. The atmosphere was very nice. Will definitely get food from here again.
