I've discovered it's extremely hard to find a place on Cape Cod with Hot Lobster rolls. Especially in the off season. Everyone just has cold lobster rolls which aren't nearly as good. So we ended up driving about an hour to try JT's and it didn't really live up to the hype. The buns aren't grilled which is a negative and although there is alot of meat, it was lukewarm, and just tasted reheated. I will say the fried whole bellies are some of the best and the onion rings are quite good. So if you end up stopping there stick with the fried stuff and you won't be let down.

Great place for a quick bite. Highly recommended if you're in the area. Prices are average and they usually have specials.

  • Davey C.

The food was good. Kind of pricey for clam chowder and lobster rolls. A bowl of chowder seemed more like a cup, but the taste mad it worth the 5 dollars. All and all it was a great place to eat after a bike ride. The place seems to be packed during peak eating hours. There is ample parking for a lot of cars.

We were visiting the Cape and couldn't leave without enjoying a lobster roll. It was after Labor Day, so some places were already closed for the season. Found this place on Yelp, and what a find! Best lobster roll we've ever had! We just got the basic cold lobster salad roll to go, and it was overflowing with delicious chunks of lobster. We could have selected options for more lobster meet, but we couldn't imagine anything bigger!

Have been coming here every summer for years. Some good grilled options for those who want to avoid the fried stuff. Menu items are designed for fast execution by the kitchen given the high volume. So, nothing spectacular but everything is above average. Not a gastronomic event but good option if you want fried seafood and ice cream.

We stopped by this place for our first time because we had a hankering for some fried seafood, and wanted a place that we could eat outside and bring our pup. JT's was perfect! Not only were our fried scallops and fried fish cooked perfectly and not greasy at all, but we got to enjoy a cold Cape Cod Summer in a frosted mug, eat outside on a beautiful day, and all got a delicious ice cream cone to top off our meal! The staff were all super friendly and even got our dog, Tucker, his own cone. :)

I rode my bike from Dennisport to Nickerson and decided to lunch at JT's, it is right off the bike path. Delicious lunch size fish and chips, fresh cod, lightly breaded. So good! Staff very pleasant and the place is filled with pride. Clean, cute picnic tables, window box's displaying beautiful flowers. Very friendly.

JT's is a great restaurant to go to after a day at the beach, and it has great ice cream. The food is delicious, well prepared, and served extremely well. It has a great atmosphere, with options of indoor and outdoor seating. The only complaint I would have is the price. It is more expensive then it should be. For example- $11 for chicken tenders. That's ridiculous. Besides that, JT's is a great place to go.

We just arrived in Cape Cod and wanted to get some good seafood. We stopped at JT's and loved the food. I had the stuffed cod with baked potato and green beans and my husband had the salmon Caesar salad. Both were excellent! This is a great place to stop while in this area! We are full-time RVers; see where we've been at retired-openroad.us .

Excellent chowdah! Hot lobster roll, was a nice change from its mayo induced cousin. Great place for kids. They serve a small variety of beer and wine, The Cape Cod Summer ale hit the spot.

    (4)
  • Michael M.

Overpriced, small portions, hit or miss. That sums it up. After paying for an overpriced dinner we decided to get ice cream. $20 for 3 if us. Holy cow!!! And the Sundae was very skimpy on the ice cream. If I'm paying $6 for a sundae I want it to have more than a scoop of ice cream. They have gone down since we went last.

I really love side of the road, New England fried seafood places... JT's is wonderful. Its one step up from most places because it's cleaner and has more variety in menu... but that's not why I love it. I love it because the food is amazing! I know a good lobster roll when I have one. I know great clam strips when I have them. And JT's nails it. With a lot of places to go in Brewster and in Cape Cod, this place stands out. I highly recommend it!

We only stopped for ice cream. Really long lines but it moves quick. Try the black raspberry choc chip fro yo.

  • Ben S.

This is litterly one of the best sea foodnplaces in cape cod idk why people would give this place less than 3 stars

    (5)
  • Hannah J.

Never had the ice cream there, but they have very good, fresh seafood. It's worth the price! The fish and chips are perfect. The clam chowder is also a good pick.

    (5)
  • L S.

I don't understand the rave reviews here. Lobster roll was on an untoasted cold roll, too heavily mayo'd/pureed. Have had many a lobster roll in my day and this one was just ok. Other food was mediocre. Most items are pre-made (e.g. processed chicken fingers, patties, etc.) and yikes -- lunch for 2 adults and 2 toddlers was over 70 dollars.

    (2)
  • N C.

Kind of greasy. Lobster salad roll was disappointing, even for a summer shack. It was served on a fat hotdog roll, not the typical toasted frankfurt roll. A liitle chewy.

    (2)
  • Tamar A.

You know how sometimes after a long day of camping and bike riding and lying on the beach you just need a massive chocolate/vanilla twist soft-serve so bad it makes you fall back onto the sand? So does this place. Yay.

    (4)
  • Fiona O.

The hot lobster rolls here are so good. My friends have spent several weekends essentially seeking out and comparing lobster rolls, and JT's wins again and again. It's also a calm, comfortable place to hang out and it's not too crowded.

    (5)
  • Alyssa G.

We don't know why this place has only 3 1/2 stars. We just had lunch here and it was fantastic. One of us had a Caesar salad with grilled salmon, and the salmon was very tasty. Another person had fishcakes sandwich with fresh local fish that was the delish. The last of us had fish and chips that were fried perfectly. Try it!

Usually we stay in Eastham and eat at Arnolds. This time we are in Brewster. I have to say that JTs puts Arnolds to shame. JTs is cleaner, smaller. You sit at the table and your order is brought to you. And the food seems to be better prepared and less greasy. It's actually comfortable. All in contrast to Arnolds, which has become a tourist slaighterhouse - of lines, confusion, mayhem. It's fried seafood, it's the cape, it's summertime, so expectations should be low but JTs manages to exceed.

    (3)
  • Colin M.

Honesty not worth the price. The hot lobster roll (no mayo, just fresh lobster) was great but the chowder tasted nothing like clams, basically a bowl of cream. And the crab cake over salad was a cold crab cake over a prepacked box of lettuce.

    (3)
  • Diane P.

Great chowder and high quality plastic ware. Traffic is loud outdoors. Friendly help.

    (4)
  • Lisa M.

Over priced and tasteless food. Better off with a filet of fish from McDonalds. Campbell's honestly makes a better clam chowder.

    (1)
  • Laura P.

Absolutely love JT's. Awesome lobster rolls and fish & chips. Slightly pricey, but totally worth it. There's an adjacent ice cream parlor, outside seating only, which the kids love. We visit both every year.

    (5)
  • Rania B.

Food was ok, not very good value for price. Lobster roll hot and cold were just fine. Lobster roll dud not come with any extras. Had to buy coleslaw side.

    (2)
  • Ana P.

Not great food but find that most places in the area are this way. The chowder is ok at best as was the lobster bisque. So decided to get ice cream next door to compensate for food experience and it wasn't much better. Being a New Yorker, guess I'm a little spoiled and expected better.

    (3)
  • Chris L.

This was by far the cleanest non-fancy restaurant I have ever eaten in! Especially considering you're dealing with seafood and grease. 4 stars for the cleanliness alone. The food was good, not great, but good. The one downside was it is a bit overpriced for the portion sizes they serve. We only went there cause we were on the Cape for a few days. If you are in the area I'd say stop in for a quick bite.

    (4)
  • Yemi ..

We went here based on a friend's recommendation. The restaurant is clean and family friendly. I started with the lobster bisque. JT has the best lobster bisque. The fried fish sandwich was not quite as good. If I come here again, I would have to try something else.

    (4)
  • Eric T.

JT's is like many seafood places on the Cape--primarily fried, but with a handful of non-fried options. My wife liked her fried shrimp very much--said the batter was pretty light. I had the baked cod, and it was really well done, as were the steamed green beans. And we ordered a side of onion rings for the table and they were great. I would definitely go back to JT's and recommend it.

    (4)
  • Halyna S.

It was really great! Cozy and friendly atmosphere. The owner fed us 15 min before they were officially open! Lobster roll and clam chowder were really good, they have two nice outside terraces and a corner with kids toys. Very welcoming!

    (5)
  • Renee M.

This place serves up decent seafood but it seems like a lot of items on the menu are hit or miss. For example: Fried clams- hit! Steamers? Miss... Cold lobster roll- hit! Crab cakes? Miss... I guess you just hafta know what to order! Both times I've been here were in the summer and both times it was overrun with tourists but what do you expect from a family friendly seafood joint on the Cape?

    (3)
  • Julie S.

JT's is the home of the world's best onion rings. They were perfectly cut, thin but not too thin while still maintaining their onion-y shape. Perfectly breaded, fried, and crispy. The hot lobster roll is also to die for. The roll was overstuffed with huge chunks of lobster meat. The lobster was perfectly cooked, with a huge portion of butter to dip the sandwich in on the side. There is little to no ambience here. Outside there are picnic tables along the parking lot, and inside are tables that look very 1970's. But none of that matters because the food is just ridiculous. I'm salivating just thinking about it.

  • Samantha T.

Across the street from Ocean Edge Resort where I have a condo, this is my go to place for fresh seafood. Prices are comparable to other seafood joints on the Cape, but the quality and freshness is amazing. The portions are large, and this place gets packed in the summertime, but the wait is well worth it. My favorite are the fried whole clams, but I've also tried the hot lobster roll. I've never seen this anywhere else, and it was good, but for the size (served in a hot dog bun), I was expecting more. Don't be surprised if you drop close to $100 on dinner for 3-4 people here, but then again, it's seafood. Any place with dirt cheap seafood could be questionable.

I'm a local in Brewster and generally avoid the touristy places during the season, but wanted some quick take out. Unfortunately, on a not very busy Sunday they forgot part of my order, which I realized once I saw a very large order that came in behind me, get served. OK, another 5 minutes wait for the fish and chips. Meanwhile, the lobster bisque that was ordered sat out the entie time apparently. Aside from being lukewarm, I found it to be an overly salty bowl of glop. Little lobster taste, even in the lobster pieces,as the bisque itself was so overwhelmingly salty as to detract from any other discernible taste. Fish was ok, my daughter really liked the fries.

  • Alex O.

Good location. Ok ice cream. Get lobster rolls anywhere else. Ordered one regular ("lobster salad" it is called now somehow) one warm with butter. The regular roll: was tasteless, had insufficient amount of lobster and was served on larger than expected hotdog bun. The warm one: was tasteless ( my 15yo son said the lobster meat was frozen...well I don't care whether it was frozen or not...but nothing was done to bring the taste out for sure).

  • Jeremy P.

My family stopped in after reading the excellent reviews. I was very surprised to spend over 50 dollars for two horrible hamburgers, a combo platter fresh from the Gordon's Fisherman, and some mediocre clam chowder.

  • Natalia O.

Very nicely done!! We stopped in after driving over and the food hit the spot just fine :) I had the special, baked seafood stuffed cod with green beans and a baked potato, and my coworker had the lobster roll with onion rings. Deep fried goodness? You bet! Service is prompt and the system is a bit wonky, you order at the counter, then try to find a table where they will bring the food by shouting out the order number. We didn't try the ice cream, but it was definitely a "happening" place even for a Wednesday night. Will definitely go back next time I'm in the area to try something else, and maybe leave room for dessert.

Great location - we were staying just down the street at the Mansion at Ocean Edge. This was our second time here. Try the stuffed baked cod!!! I got it both times and it was really good. Some others got the hot lobster roll and fried shrimp. Both were acceptable but definitely not the greatest. Staff is really friendly though and they also serve ice cream, so bonus points for that.

    (4)
  • Andrea B.

Great ice cream. They just don't know how to scoop it. Both of our single scoops fell off of their respective sugar cones within 30 seconds of having them handed to us. Luckily, both of us were adroit enough to catch the ice cream and plop it back on the cone before it hit the ground. That aside, their purple cow ice cream is fantastic. Portions are huge. I got a kiddie cone for 2.69, and it was enormous. P.S., Yes, I am writing a review for the right place. This little seafood joint has a line a mile long at their ice cream window every night, so we just had to stop by!

We're giving this place 5 stars because it was exactly what we wanted after a 7 hour drive to our destination, Ocean Edge Resort which is just down the road. We were looking for lobster roll and fresh cod and were very happy with the Hot Lobster Roll and Fish and Chips and Baked Cod dinner. Large chunks of lobster on a toasted bun with drawn butter. Large piece of cod was flaky and moist. The place is very quaint, decorated with bright children's paintings of fish. Everything was very clean. We ordered at the counter and our food arrived very quickly. Cape cod summer beer was delicious. We would return here again.

I was torn between 4 stars and 5 but decided, what the heck. They have good food. The ordering process might be a little different than most are used to, but it's laid back like your vacation should be. We dealt. You head to the front, wait on line (usually out the door at dinner). The wait wasn't actually that bad. Get to register, order and pay (CCs accepted), and get a number. Chill at table and wait for some lost soul to wander about the place with a giant tray of food and hope they don't trip over the line of waiting people. :) Wife had lobster roll that she described as very good. Lots of fried options (which seems typical for seafood spots of the like). Steamed lobster platters available with no call ahead. I had the clam chowder and it was excellent. Kids had fried fish and had no complaints. Beer and wine available by the indy bottle. Indoor and outdoor seating. Would certainly visit here again. I liked it better than the other place I visited down the road.

It seems if your looking for deep fried seafood on Cape Cod, it is hard to go wrong at just about any place but what if you don't eat deep fried food? We ordered hot lobster rolls, clam chowder, and lobster bisque. The chowder and bisque were both good. The lobster in the lobster rolls however seemed over cooked and didn't taste very good. My wife and I were both disappointed.

Of all the seafood shacks on the Cape, JTs is one of my top picks. Be aware of the crazy lines come the summer but it's worth it! The seafood is fresh and the service is friendly. The specials don't really change but they're dependable and delicious.

Fisherman's Platter. Nuff' said Lunch here on a Friday with Cape Cod Red and a fisherman's platter is all I need. You have to split it with a friend though. Way too much food.

  • Matt D.

Good lobster roll, bun was more of a hoagie roll, I prefer a buttered New England roll. Onion rings were good. Also at our table we had the grilled salmon and cheeseburger. Both were ok. For desert we had a twist, soft serve ice cream was not that great, tasted like milk and water, hard ice cream was much better.

  • Kate H.

I went there last night with a group of friends. The food is good, the portions are not as large as many of the other similar seafood restaurants, but it was significantly less busy than Sesuit Harbor (which is how we ended up there)! There's a good amount of seating, big parking lot, and ordering was fast. They have a few beers too, which not all those seafood places do. Good amount of outdoor seating. In short, good food but a little overpriced for the portions.

Good spot for a summer seafood fry up and a ice cream . The service is quick and the price is fitting for this type of restaurant. Will go again next time I'm in Brewster

Can't go wrong at JT's - fast service - great selection and good food. It looks like a little ice cream shack from the road but, stop in and wow... Impressive take out or eat in menu - the best Lobster bisque with real pieces of fresh lobster. Awesome sandwiches - fresh cod and the chicken was really good. It can get busy, so be prepared for 15-20 minute wait for food, but it's worth it. Nice atmosphere, nautical themed with local art on the walls... High customer turnover. A young staff with surprising attention to detail and friendly servers. After it's all done - head outside for great ice cream or fro-yo. Always a cool stop on 6A when we drive in/out of our yearly Ptown pilgrimage... it's a treat on the way in and our last meal on the way off the Cape. Two years in a row ! Have a great season.

We had the pleasure of visiting on 8/17/14. I was a little nervous about the wait due to a line out the door, turns out, you order at the counter just inside and then take a seat. The line moves surprisingly fast and the food is brought out to you. We ordered the scallop plate ($21) that came with fries and a lobster salad roll ($16). It was delicious. The coleslaw was so good too!! I highly recommend, as a matter of fact, we are going back tonight.

  • Kim P.

We had lunch here with 12 people. The food was excellent. We tried the clam strips, clam chowder, lobster roll warm, lobster roll cold, fish tacos and combo fish / scallops platter. Everyone loved the food. It's counter service for ordering but the food is delivered to you table via a numbering system. All of that works great until you need something and go back up to ask for something like another cup for ketchup. The staff can't deviate from the norm. They were out of ketchup cups so I asked for a cup used for tartar sauce and the response was "but that's not for ketchup"! Really?? So what!!! It will work! We all laughed at ridiculousness of it and did not let it ruin our lunch, the food was too good!! We would definitely return here!

My first meal during my vacation on the Cape was at JT's. In search of some good seafood, I ordered clam chowder and fried clam strips. The restaurant was pretty busy, so we waited for about twenty five minutes. My chowder was alright, but not as good as it usually is in cape cod. The clam strips simply tasted like fried bread crumbs, and there was nothing about them that tasted like clams. Afterward, I went to the back of their restaurant to order ice cream. My chocolate soft serve did not taste like ice cream, nor chocolate. I ended up throwing it out. I'm always open to trying new foods and being optimistic, but this was a negative experience. The one thing I liked about their food was the fried fish sandwich, which was quite good. Overall, I would skip this place and opt for other choices.

Stopped in for a small sundae done nicely. A little light on the hot fudge but I will ask for more in the summer!

Ya gotta love cape cod for having basically the same menu at every single seafood place they have---fried clam strips, friend clam belly, fried oysters, fried shrimp....the list goes on and on ha At least here I felt we got way more food for what we paid than other seafood spots around. Plus the way to go here to is to get one of their specials of the day because we got a pretty good fish cake sandwich that was pretty big with coleslaw for $6.99. That is a steal in this area!! And they say you can't eat cheaply on the cape ha ha But I wasn't a fan of their coleslaw too much, but oh well, I guess it is just slaw? Matt J. and I also got the fried clam strips platter with fries, and man that combined with the fish cake was all kinds of fried!!! Almost too much for me, but at least our server was super nice and recommended putting honey mustard on our clam strips and she was right. That did taste pretty good! I now agree with her in wanting to put honey mustard on more things in my life! All in all, it was fried food, so hard to tell how fresh it actually was, but clearly it is a popular place. They even sell beer and wine here as well as soft and hard ice cream, so you kind of can get whatever your typical cape cod craving may be.

Fried clams were over cooked and onion rings tonight were forgettable. Place wasn't crowded, but service was slow. We will go back, because its normally much better.

I like JT's for their ice cream. They have soft serve and hard and their prices for ice cream are the lowest in the area. Prices for everything else? I've experienced WAY better. JT's is overpriced and mediocre at best. Ordered the lobster salad at lunch one Sunday afternoon recently and feel completely unsatisfied and ripped off. The salad is "traditional garden salad". I don't know who said that ICEBERG lettuce is traditional, and if that is tradition, they need to get out of 1982. The lobster meat was a joke. About 1/8 of a cup of lobster meat plopped on top of iceberg lettuce, two cucumber slices and two grape tomatoes do not a salad make. WAKE UP JT's! It's the 21st century. A salad consists of, at the very least, Romaine lettuce...and heck, maybe toss in some baby spinach for a change?! GET WITH THE PROGRAM. For $23, I was left with a very, very poor taste in my mouth and a grumbling in my stomach since I wasn't about to toss that unhealthy iceberg lettuce into my system. Really, JT's? For the inexpensive lobster season this year, I could have purchased 4 live & kicking lobsters and boiled them up myself for that price. Stop trying to rip us off and serve up some salads that are worthy of your outrageous pricing!

Love this place! Relaxed, basic, no frills, comfortable atmosphere. You order at the counter and then either can sit inside or at one the picnic style tables outside. The food is really good which is what counts. Really great lobster rolls. Shorts and flip flops are the required attire. Nice friendly staff!

We had the fried seafood platter and both the lobster bisque and clam chowder. Our first reaction was holy fried, but really the food was fabulous. Specifically, the fried scallops were divine. Would definitely recommend this spot for some fried seafood!

Found this place by accident. The outdoor seating drew us in as the weather on Cape Cod last week was awesome. We ordered at the window inside and took our seats outside. A server brought us our food very promptly. The fish patty sandwich was good, but a little dry. Needed the tarter sauce to lubricate. For $8 (including fries) it was a decent value. Kids said fish and chips were good. Ironically, the highlight may have been the hamburger as my 15 year old raved about it. Clam chowder was also good (but, as with most Cape Cod dining, nothing special). The ice cream shop next door to the kitchen was neat. It saved us a trip and gave us a reason to hang out some more on a nice day. Pricing was about average for the area. Lunch for 7 of us (4 adults and 3 kids) was $90. No alcohol. I would go back for the speedy service, big menu and classic Cape Cod fare in a really nice outdoor setting - with easy access to ice cream :-)

Don't think this is a 'must'. Pricey and pretty average. We've vacationed at the Ocean Edge several years now and JT's hasn't become one of our favorite spots.

I was very excited to find a place on the Cape that served Hot Buttered Lobster Rolls. However, JT's serves their hot buttered lobster rolls cold and over cooked. What a major bummer! I never thought I would say Brooklyn knows best when it comes to lobster! Despite the lousy lobster roll, the Calm Chowder was great!

  • Madge C.

We tried, really. We have eaten at JT's MANY times over the years - we have been coming to Brewster for 10+ years, and over the years JT's has gone down hill. Ordering anything other than fish and chips was always a mistake - the "specials" Swordfish, etc were always AWFUL! CApital A. I figured the safest thing was the fish and chips as it was always ok - well no more... Tonite we all ordered fish and chip and it was terrible! The fish was like rubber! How did they manage that?? It tasted like it was pre-frozen - disgusting. To their credit they offered to redo it, but I am just done - done with JT's - too many bad meals, too much wasted money. I don't care if they gave it to me for free... Don't eat here...

    (1)
  • Alex L.

Had their fish and chips (not the beer-battered one), and it was amazing! Both the fish and the chips (fries) were fried perfectly, with just the right amount of oil. Which to me means it had just enough greasiness and friedness to be flavorful, but not so much that you get sick of it or fear for your arteries. With most good fish and chips I've had, the meal is good until the very end, when you start feeling sick, and the whole time you're very much aware of how unhealthy the food is. But at JT's, I never felt sick or felt that the food was particularly unhealhty. Again, just the right amount of frying with this dish!

This, no frills, old school restaurant was the perfect stop for a late lunch. Love the simplicity of placing the order, finding an outdoor table and having your food delivered. I'm always on the search for the best calamari. There's consisted of large, plump pieces that were lightly breaded. Perfect. The lobster roll was plain and delicious.

My family of 5 just got back to our rental cottage from a very expensive and very disappointing dinner at JT's. I ordered the lump crab sandwich (I had wanted the wrap but it was after 5pm, so they only serve it on a roll - why?) that comes with a tiny bag of Cape Cod chips. The overwhelmingly large bun filled out the plate, but it was stuffed with the most bland crab salad I've ever had. No lumps to be found. I ended up picking at the salad and found a few pieces of lettuce and some diced tomatoes underneath the salad. Truly not worth the $11.99. My husband tried to go healthy and ordered the broiled cod; it came with over-buttered and mushy green beans (canned) and a dry baked potato (no sour cream). He was not happy. My teen boys ordered the shrimp rolls which came with a side of cole slaw; they liked it fine. My daughter insisted that she liked her fried fish sandwich, but she's not fussy. There wasn't any room to eat outside, so we ate in the dining room; another disappointment. Terrible lighting in a cafeteria type room with plastic utensils and paper plates. Overall, we spent $75.00 on a decidedly mediocre meal. I understand that the Cape is filled with such restaurants, but tonight I learned that I may have to prepare my own meals in our rental to avoid spending a fortune on these kinds of lousy dinners. Would not recommend, absolutely will not return. Adding insult to injury: I'm still hungry.

Great place if you are craving fresh fried seafood. We tried native fried clams and the scallops. Try the clam roll if you are looking for something a little smaller. It is basically the fried clams in a toasted sub roll served with coleslaw. The homemade onion rings are also delicious. There is also an ice cream shop connected to the restaurant so you can finish of your meal with soft serve.

The seafood is very fresh. The Wellfleet oysters were outstanding. The service is friendly. Too bad the ice cream was not home made.

This is one of the worst dining experiences I have had in quite some time. We ordered a cup of the clam chowder, side salad, veggie burger and broccoli side dish. 25 minutes later the food had not arrived. This wasn't a Friday night, this was a Tuesday. Waiting 30 minutes for food served to you on a paper plate is way to long a wait in my opinion. The restaurant is noisy, kids are running everywhere and there isn't really much redeeming about the place except for the clam chowder. The worst part about the wait is that when I walked up there to check on the food, the items that had to be cooked(burger and broccoli) were waiting under the heat lamp. However the soup, which simply comes from a giant container, and the salad, which was pre-made iceberg with a little onion, were not ready. The salad was also old and browning. Salad- 0 stars, awful soup- 4 stars burger-3 stars, doesn't come with any sides broccoli- 2 stars, watery Will not be coming back.

I don't know what that other reviewer is saying about "light on the oil factor" because this place went so over the top with giving me a greasy mess on a plate that I felt compelled to warn possible customers here. So, I have eaten dinner at JT's a number of times, but not in years. I didn't realize they serve breakfast until two mornings ago while on a bike ride. Since my favorite muffin place next door was cash only, I decided to give JT's breakfast a try. Bad idea. First, the menu is small. That alone wouldn't have been a problem. But when I received my sausage egg and cheese breakfast sandwich, it became one. I had no reasonable alternative to the grease pool before me. Seriously, I think they must have had to submerge the bagel in oil for it to get like that. It was a death sponge. I suffered through one bite and threw the rest in the trash before walking out in disgust. Seriously JT's, did you have to make it that nasty? Could you have any regard at all for wellness? Bottom line, if you like your breakfast sandwiches as moist as a sponge in a sink, then this is the place for you. If you enjoy life, go elsewhere.

Running short of time and my favorite Brewster take-out, El Guapo's, was closed because of a small fire. Decided to try JT's again this year, though last year's try was a bust. Honey had fish and chips and I had the fried shrimp. The fish was overcooked and tough, not very flavorful. The shrimp tasted like they had been in the freezer a long time before making it to my plate. On the plus side, the onion rings were good. Chilled mug and on-tap beer another plus. But with a $40 tab, we won't be eating there again this season, even if it is around the corner!

Fried Fish or Lobster Roll with a beach shack feel. Benches and tables out front and lots of seating inside. This is one of the places that makes me keep coming back to Cape Cod again and again.

This place caught my eye on a business trip on the cape. Very impressed with the friendliness of the staff. Fish sandwich was delicious...light on the oil factor. Inexpensive too.

It's a Clam Shack style restaurant with plenty of tables inside and out. It's has a nicer decor than most Clam Shacks and it's clean and bright inside. The service was fast on fairly busy Friday night. You stand in line and scan the slightly confusing menu(s). You get your drinks up front including beer and wine, then they have a runner bring you your food. Nice touch the runner, having to stand around and wait or be paged doesn't thrill me. We tried the steamed lobster dinner, steamers, fish and chips and a salmon special. They also had chicken fingers for my youngest who doesn't really like seafood. Here's the thing I grew up in Newport eating this type of food, and while nothing was that bad it was just average. The steamers were slightly over cooked, the lobster was fine, the fish and chips were ok, the salmon was over seasoned and dry, and the chicken fingers were tasteless and rubbery. The total with 2 beers a wine and ice cream afterward was over $90. * We walked from the Ocean Edge resort no car involved. Points for that. * Cape Cod prices but just average food. * Local beer on tap.

JT's is the quintessential Cape Cod eatery. Fresh, fresh seafood... scallops, steamers, oysters, shrimp. And the biggest (and best... they use some kind of secret seasoning) lobster roll on the Cape for the price. Seems they use their own fisherman/suppliers for the seafood so that why it seems fresher. Their lobster bisque and clam chowder were first rate. Really, the best, what you would expect from a fine dining restaurant... JT's seems to be the place you know you aren't getting out-of-the-box (or Sysco) meals. It's fresh. It's sometimes fried. It's sometime steamed. AND, it is always delicious. Bravo. I love seeing family owned places doing well... This is not a fast food place, (good food takes time) this is a real dining experience in a casual CapeCod atmospher. And in JT's case... it is giving it's customer fresh authentic home cooked seafood. Can't get better than that.

We ordered take out for five of us and it was hot fresh and ready in fifteen minutes. We have picky kids and they loved it. My husband and I loved our meals of fried clams and a lobster roll. Kids loved the broiled salmon, biscuits, haddock, and corn the cob. The veggies that came with the meal were excellent. We will definitely be back!

not really loving this place AT ALL. we ate here last weekend and had the hot lobster roll and the fish sandwich. the lobster was awful ... in fact, the butter was only saving grace. the fish sandwich was ok but puh-leazzz dont tell me its fresh fish. i dont get it! you're a seafood place --- why arent you serving fresh fish??? super expensive for two adults and two kids but, after all, it is cape cod.

Hands down one of the best lobster rolls I've had! The location is perfect Cape Cod. My Wife, Daughters and I each ordered the lobster roll. -Great Flavor -Generous Size -Nice and helpful staff Round Two, were back again, we were staying at the Ocean's Edge, rode our bikes to JT's and had lunch this time, did not disappoint. I couldn't keep away from the Lobster roll but we added in some of the bisque... loved it. Filled with lobster, sweet and creamy. The portion was generous. What stood out to me was the fact that J T's had a few options of lobster roll that I have never had. The lobster itself was soft and cooked to perfection while the flavor was two thumbs up. It is well worth the drive; bike ride or walk, a tourist must! And the Cape Cod Cooler, so damn good I am putting this on the menu for my Wife's 50th birthday party. Cheers JT's see you next year at vacation time.

Fresh seafood, great service, Cape-Cody atmosphere. I've Never had a bad meal here, it's consistently been my go to casual seafood place on the Cape. Best fried scallops on the Cape too!

Stopped in for some fried oysters, onion rings and cole slaw. I was down a quart of oil. Service was fantastic, oysters were fresh and cooked perfectly, rings were home made and the cole slaw was non mayonnaise'ish (very good). Doesn't get any better than that!

This year was our first stop at JT's, and we'll definitely be back! Finding a hot lobster roll on the Cape isn't as easy as finding the cold lobster rolls, so I was happy to learn that JT's offers both. I opted for the hot lobster roll which was delicious and came with a good amount of meat. We also got the clam chowder and fried scallop platter. The chowder is easily one of the best clam chowders I've ever had! It wasn't too "clammy" even though there is a generous amount of clams in it. The scallops were equally as surprising, with a lot of great flavor in the batter. Later in the evening we returned to JT's for some ice cream of which they have a good selection of hard and soft-serve options. If you haven't checked out JT's yet (as we hadn't) don't wait any longer... do it now!!

Average prices for typical Cape Cod fried food. The staff are particularly nice and helpful. We split the fisherman's platter and my kids had chicken nuggets. Everyone liked their food enough that we came back a second night.

A throwback to everything you loved about the 70s; Great atmosphere very simple summer setting with picnic tables outside, American flag blowing in the wind, hard scoop ice cream and delicious food.

They have fresh seafood ingredients but the execution is mediocre in addition to being extremely overpriced. It's really a shame because they are very good with gluten allergies which is a must for my wife. My wife had broiled scallops and I had fish and chips. The scallops were bland and mushy. The piece of fish they fried was clearly a nice piece of cod but was fried in a way they made it rubbery with the breading being soggy. The French fries had a similar soggy/rubbery texture and not worth the calorie intake...if you're going to eat fried stuff it should be worth it. The chowder was entirely too thick and lacked flavor. We've been here a few times because it is right near our rental spot so it's convenient to hit after a long travel day. Unfortunately this will be our last visit.

After hearing from several people we should stop here we did. Outside the sign said they were open till 9:30pm so at 8:30pm when we walked we were told "just to let you know were closing in 3 minutes" never got to try the food and never went back.

As far as lobster rolls are concerned, JT's might have the best on the Cape. The Hot Rolls are a must get.. SO GOOD. Located right across the street from the Ocean Edge resort. You'll really like it.

My first meal on Cape Cod, I started with clam chowder soup (I would pass on the soup next time) then the Baked Cod dinner special perfect portion, side of baked potato with sour cream and butter, and green beans. The next afternoon I stopped for a soft serve ice cream cone (vanilla) with rainbow sprinkles (summer weakness).

Food is good although priced quite high. Not a lot of value here. I'll pick somewhere else next time.
